Lot of fun for the family. We enjoyed the slides and the high dives. The kids were occupied having fun all day long!

First time and it was a fun place!! A lot to do, especially for older kids. Younger kids had the little play area. One of our kids forgot her swimsuit so we were able to rent one which was good. It was nice to have a combo with this place and the hot pots. Fun place!

Really fun park with platforms to jump from a well as diving boards. 4 gnarly slides. Bring in your coolers and chairs, have a picnic. Hot tub, kiddie pool, shade! Great spot for the fam.
Ammon C — Google review
The pool was not nearly as busy as I thought it would be on the Labor Day, the last day of summer pool hours. We had plenty of space to spread out and activities to entertain all ages. Big changing area with showers. Nice warm water. The big slide wait time was not worth going down very many times. I gave it a 4 star rating because of the bees in the water.
Kim F — Google review
The place is fun for the whole family. The indoor kitty pool will keep the little ones entertained. Next to the kitty pool is a hot pool. With water straight from the springs. It is very relaxing and is the perfect temperature. Outside the big pool has it all. The shallow end all the way to the high dive platforms. With 3 levels 16ft, 23ft and a towering 33ft. You must sign a waiver and and listen to some instructions before jumping. There is no waiver needed to ride the slides. There are also 2 food vendors inside the pool area. Definitely will be going back again.
Teyen H — Google review
Had a summer of fun bringing my kids to Lava many times. Above average skill level patrons flippin' all over this place. In other words I love the diving boards and platforms, like everyone else. Frequenting the hot soak is also a must especially when I hit the water wrong sometimes. The kid toys are right next to the hot soak, perfect for watching my kids while soaking. I find the staff at Lava to be so much better than multiple pool facilities from my hometown. While the reality is that the people from my hometown just have problems all around, it especially earns Lava full marks from me. Thank you Lava! We will be back.

Zipline & Aerial Adventure Parks
Lava Zipline Adventure in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho offers an exhilarating experience for adrenaline seekers. The adventure begins with a bumpy ride to a private canyon outside of town, where visitors can soar through the valley on zip lines and take in breathtaking mountain views. Additionally, there's an option to tackle challenging obstacles on the high ropes course, reminiscent of the American Ninja Warrior challenges. The staff emphasizes safety while encouraging guests to have fun and step out of their comfort zones.
This adventure company gets everything right! When we first called to make a reservation, we were the only couple, and they didn’t know if there would be enough people to offer the Zip Line adventure. It was pre-season, and we knew that this could happen. However, a few days later, they called us back to let us know that there were enough people, and we booked the Zip Line & Rope Course. In Lava Hot Springs, they showed up in a giant Army truck to pick everyone up. There were a couple of single parents with kids, a few young-ish adults and us (50-something). Every activity was explained very well before we started. The staff were super nice to everyone, and we were told that we’re all one big adventure family for the day. Everyone was kind and respectful, which is not something you can take for granted anymore. There were two zip lines, and everyone got to go twice. As first-timers, we were just absolutely thrilled with the experience. Next, we had the option to do the ninja obstacle course on multiple levels. If you’ve ever watched any obstacle course shows on TV, you get the idea. We walked on ropes, balanced on narrow beams and climbed up and down to get through all kinds of obstacles. Just to make sure: safety was the main concern of the staff (followed closely by “having fun”), and everyone learned how to get around safely. And then they fired up a monster contraption that raised a platform about 60 feet above ground. This was a bonus bungee jump activity for those who were interested, they said. Absolutely everyone did it, and by this time, it was absolutely clear that these guys just wanted everyone to have fun. We did a few more things, but I don’t want to give it all away. All I can say is that we got more than our money’s worth. And we’ll definitely be back.
Philipp B — Google review
Took my family of four to enjoy this adventure. The host is hilarious! Tarzan, Sadie and Bella did such an awesome job making this such a fun experience! From zip-lining to the rope course! We had a blast! I would highly recommend! Definitely something our family will continue to experience on our trips to lava!!
Brittany T — Google review
I loved everything about it! The zip lining was so fun, the ropes course was a blast and all of the activities Milan and Tarzan has us had us do were sooooooo fun!
Jessica M — Google review
We took a youth group to enjoy the zip line and ninja course, THEY LOVED IT!!! Starting with the fun ride in the old truck to getting suited up, the staff was awesome. The zip lines were fast and fun, then we moved over to the ninja course. Once again, the staff made it so everyone had a great time. I’d definitely recommend this spot. Call well in advance to reserve a spot. I booked four moths in advance.
Jonathan B — Google review
From the moment the army truck shows up til they drop you off it's an adventure. Our whole family had so much fun! Our 11 year old daughter proclaimed this was her second favorite place (behind Disneyland but ahead of Great Wolf Lodge). Yep, it's that much fun! They really challenge you and there are a variety of activities to try. My favorite part was how good they are with the kids (and honestly the adults too) in encouraging them to explore and try new things and challenge themselves. It felt like everyone left with a little more confidence. This is way more than just a ropes course and fun zipline; the staff makes this an experience. Up in the canyon there is an outhouse and chairs & shade for spectators.
Katie F — Google review
My husband and I had an AMAZING time at the zip line & adventure park! Milan & Tarzan were great guides helping us stay safe, have fun, & push ourselves to be brave. We got in 4 beautiful zip line runs, some friendly strength & climbing competitions, a rope obstacle course run, & more! It was the highlight of our trip to Lava Hot Springs & 100% worth every dollar + more.
Alana W — Google review
I've been to a few other zipline and ropes courses before and this one is the best I've been to. Ziplines were long and fast. The ropes course had great challenges for any skill level. Only thing I'd hope for improvement is 1 or 2 more instructors/spotters for safety. Some people are more careless than others and need that extra guidance when they're 30 feet off the ground. Great crew and great experience!
Fishin' U — Google review
This place way exceeded my expectations. The zip line was fun, but that was just the beginning. The staff and the owner are so relaxed and chill. While they stress safety throughout all the activities, they encourage you to have fun and push yourself out of your comfort zone. The ninja course is really challenging and fun. There are different levels to challenge people of all age levels and abilities. We had a group of about 40 people and only four were able to complete all 5 ninja levels. Please be aware that this facility is not right in Lava Hot Springs. While you meet in town, you load up in a old military vehicle and commute out to the site. There are bathrooms and fresh spring water on the site. There are sitting areas for those that don't want to participate. Be prepared to be there for about 3 hours depending on the size of your group. This is one of the best activities my family has done in a while. Great time!

The South Bannock County Historical Center and Museum is a charming little place where you can delve into the history of the area. It offers an engaging scavenger hunt that appeals to all ages, with intriguing exhibits featuring old yearbooks, medical equipment, stories from First Nations peoples, and folklore. The museum constantly refreshes its displays, making each visit unique. Visitors appreciate the warm welcome from the staff and find it a worthwhile stop during a trip to Lava Hot Springs.
This museum was so cool. I highly recommend doing the scavenger hunt! It makes it so much more interactive and I noticed so many little details. It was a small museum but they used the space so well and there is so much to see! I would definitely go back!
Kaitlynn M — Google review
This was such a great museum. Such interesting facts about the area. We really enjoyed it. The cost was $2.00 for me and my husband was free since he is a veteran. The staff was very nice. They have a small gift shop if you are looking for a magnet or other items. Definitely worth the stop.

Understanding the history of Lava Hot Springs was an amazing experience. The staff were so passionate and willing to educate. The scavenger hunt that was created was phenomenal and a great way to keep interest and start conversations. The old weight-fortune was so fun. I’ve been here twice and will continue to embrace the old history of Lava. Thank you for a wonderful family experience!

A really cool place to learn about the Town of Lava Hot Springs. You are invited in with a smile, they have a scavenger hunt you can do, meant for all ages. Sorry no hints to your visit.

Fun place to visit. See some history. We did a fun scavenger hunt.
Brenda B — Google review
Loved this place!! The staff were very friendly and there wasn’t a lot of people when we went so it felt like we had the place to ourselves. Also loved the scavenger hunt
Reina K — Google review
This cute little museum kept our four kids entertained for a good hour on a scavenger hunt through the exhibits. It was a great way to learn more about Lava Hot Springs' history and make memories on a quick weekend getaway. The staff was very kind as well. We are glad we popped in!
B H — Google review
This is an adorable little museum with so much local history packed into it. Do the scavenger hunt when they offer it to you: even as a grown up you get a prize at the end. There were old yearbooks from the surrounding communities dating all the way back to the 1930s, a cool section about old pharmacy and medical equipment, stories and folklore, a room with personal stories and tales from First Nations peoples in the area. It was really cool and there was a lot more packed into it than I had expected. Cost is two dollars to help with maintaining and expanding exhibits. Also the curator says to aways write names and dates on the back of your photos!

Nature & Parks
The Sunken Gardens at Lava Hot Springs is a free-to-access garden located above the pools, offering a serene Japanese Garden-like experience. The terraced gardens and small caves provide an opportunity for forest bathing in any season, with wildflowers blooming into late September due to its proximity to the hot springs. Visitors can enjoy incredible plant life and festive winter views of snow-covered trees. The garden offers picturesque mountain and hot spring views, but be prepared for mosquitoes near water sources.
This is a very cool area next to the Lava Hotsprings pools. The garden seems like an enchanted area with the caves, the river, and the terraced landscape It's quaint and unique and a great place to see if in the area! As always, leave no trace, leave it better than you found it, and enjoy 😉.

Nice Scenic gardens to walk through, no charge. Right across the street from upper parking lot for tubing and hot springs. Not sure how we missed this hidden gem from our last trips.

What a nice place to visit and wander around. Even in the off season when the flowers are no longer are in bloom. Very serene stop and made for some incredible pictures.
Flint S — Google review
Interesting garden space that I'm sure comes totally alive after April. It was still fun to imagine the flowers while checking out the funky rock formations from ancient springs running over the rock. I was disappointed to see someone bring their drone in and ruin the atmosphere with the dumb loud humming.
Megan H — Google review
Very beautiful little walk. Nice back view of the mineral pools. Part of it is closed down currently but still a pretty little 5 minute stroll

Beautiful little find. Very nice little arboretum. Beautiful flowers, beautiful views. Free.

Beautiful and relaxing. The old town feel with little restaurants. Nice and clean area.
Kellie — Google review
Gorgeous little garden with views of the mountains and hot springs. We hiked up above to look inside, and walked through it too. Make sure you wear mosquito repellent, because all the nearby water seems to bring them in droves. I recommend going when it’s overcast if you want good photos, because the trees and peaks cast harsh shadows all day.

Lava Hot Springs East KOA Holiday is a great place to camp and enjoy the famous hot springs in Idaho. The cozy cabins are located near the Portneuf River, offering beautiful views of the mountains and a peaceful atmosphere. Guests can also enjoy authentic Thai cuisine at the Riverwalk Cafe and take a late-night dip in the Lava Hot Springs World Famous Hot Pools, which stay open until 11 p.m.
We had a great experience here. I called earlier in the week and they had a spot that I was able to book for our 35’ trailer with a slide out. It was spot #85 and has a flat concrete pad with patio, and a little grassy section. It was between two tiny cabins and was a nice little spot, especially for a last minute reservation. They had a bunch of great pull through spots that were nice as well, and if we come back I’ll book one of those. The campground was very updated and clean. Lots of great spots for every kind of camping. I also liked that it wasn’t right in town and didn’t feel so busy, but it was still close to the main town and restaurants.
Eric H — Google review
Excellent campground, in fact one of the best we have ever been to. Sites are beautifully maintained. Ours was right on the river. There is an easy pathway directly from the campground into town. Staff incredibly friendly. Bathrooms very clean, large, nice and accessed with a code for registered guests only. Large facility with space for big rigs but still very quiet. We did not stay in the cabins but they were quite nice from the outside.
Jennifer A — Google review
Very nice staff, immaculate facility n cabin. Pretty river setting, although most of the cabins were really crowded together. Short walk to the Hot Springs and town. Shower in the cabin was great, beds could be better. Queen bed was very soft n the small bunk beds were very hard. Overall nice stay, would stay again, in a more deluxe cabin.
Sandy C — Google review
RV campsite stay August 17-19. First of all the grounds, laundry and bathrooms facilities are very clean. The grounds are spacious and each site has table, swivel chairs or picnic table, and fire bowl. It’s been a long while since we’ve camped and it was so refreshing to be at a well kept site. Can’t wait to plan our next visit!
Elia P — Google review
Customer Service Hall of Shame! We arrived to find our site was under construction, with large uninstalled trees and lumber strewn across half the pad. We asked to move, get a discount or have the site cleaned up, but they refused. "It's not our fault the contractor isn't finished, and you can leave if you want" was their exact response. I've never had an RV provider completely lapse on their responsibility to provide what was paid for. I explained as the owners/operators of the park, it was in their control (not mine) to improve the situation. They completely shirked any accountability. They were just super-snotty about the whole thing. We did leave and were fortunate to find another park on a busy weekend. But I'll never put my trust in KOA again. Truly one of the worst service experiences I've ever had. Ever.
Julie Q — Google review
We stayed here Friday-Sunday at T14 & T15. It was such a beautiful campground and the staff are all very friendly, stark contrast to the people who work at the West Campground. The bathroom was spotless! My only complaint is the stairs leading to the campsites by the river. It would be helpful to have a ramp so that we can use wagons, strollers or wheelchairs to get to the sites. There was also a huge hornets nest in the tree directly above T15 so we battled hornets all weekend. We will definitely be back!
Michelle B — Google review
We love the location, beauty, and cleanliness of this KOA. We stay in the lower half of the campground where your site is backed up to the river. My kids enjoy playing in the river as much as they do playing at the olympic sized pool just down the road. There is a highway and train tracks across from the grounds and can be a little noisy but we don't mind. In fact, my kids love when they can get the trains to toot their horns! It's walking distance to the hot pools is also ideal.
Maria J — Google review
A pretty awesome place but I took a couple of stars off because it's pretty cramped for a 30 ft trailer and the spot they put us in was really only for >25ft so I had to jacknife it into place. It's an older RV park and you are going to have close neighbors. It is on the river and there's a modest walk down a nice path to town, the hot springs themselves 😎 and into town for food and drinks. Not far for food but it is all uphill to KOA East but there is a KOA down town but I don't know what that is like. Very doable for the physically able and willing.

Amazing meal! The seafood chowder was absolutely delicious! We had the rack of lamb and roast. So delicious! Glad we had live music and staff was entertaining. Definitely need reservations and don't try to sit on the patio when the cotton trees are releasing fluff - it gets everywhere.

Located in the Hotel once frequented by Teddy Roosevelt. Fine diners travel from Salt Lake to enjoy this experience . Simply unbelievable gourmet food and service. One of my favorite restaurant reviews I've ever done. Off street secure parking and walking distance to Sunken Gardens.

AMAZING!! plain and simple. I never knew food this amazing existed in Lava. I stopped at this hotel and this restaurant out of curiosity and right out of the gate I was greeted with some of the most amazing hospitality in friendliness for a long time. Derek, the food and beverage director ensured that my meal start to finish was perfect. The restaurant is cozy and comfortable, the friendliness and service was absolutely the best I've had... And the food, the food is PERFECTION!! I had the brussel sprouts as an appetizer, the filet mignon and lobster for dinner and the cheesecake for dessert. Talk about and experience that blew me away. If you want an amazing experience this is your place.

A hidden gem!!!! Don’t let the entrance fool you. Quality food & spirits. Top notch service and quaint atmosphere. Wait staff and owners were all friendly, humble and really valued us being there. I’ll definitely be back!!
L S — Google review
First and foremost: the food was fantastic. Plating was superb, flavors were fresh and bold, and the menu options were engaging. We started with the Caesar salad, which was bright and very tasty. Dressing was great and the croutons were clearly homemade. Our main courses were the pork Milanese and the chicken carciofi. Both were absolutely wonderful. Great portion size and it’s crystal clear the chefs take pride in the quality of the food they serve. Now onto the service. Our waiter was friendly enough, but the rest of the staff were abrupt, bordering on rude. The hostess and another server (wearing glasses) were very loudly and obviously engaging in some short of gossip or bad mouthing. The gentleman with the glasses interrupted a deep conversation my husband and I were having to ask the name on our reservation, no reason was given why. Our waters were never refilled until we requested it, and after our food was delivered, no one checked back in with us to ensure we were happy with it. It was not busy at all, with only a few other tables inside and a couple on the porch, so not sure why we weren’t checked on more often. Overall, our experience was okay. For the price you’re paying for the meal, the great quality of the food, and the charming ambiance, you’d think that the service would be a little better. We may return in the future, hopefully the manager can give their staff some guidance on hospitality towards patrons.
Jillian P — Google review
Everything from the dining atmosphere to the food and service was incredible! Curtis was a great waiter! We 100% recomend dining on the patio.
Mini M — Google review
Food taste amazing!.... But for reasons unknown the kitchen was backed up, waited an hour and a half for just bread and butter. (Even with a reservation) The package we got came with a $40 dinner voucher, but if used, automatically ads 20% gratuity... And with how pricey food is (remember as I said before. It's pretty amazing!) the voucher is realistically like 20% off coupon for the meal... But in the end our waiter (I believe his name is Will) was on point with us the entire night, and even gave us desert... You're the man Will.
Zane G — Google review
I was very impressed with the quality of the food and atmosphere! My wife and I got the filet mignon topped with burgundy mushrooms which was absolutely phenomenal! I don’t speak in absolutes unless I mean it but that was the best steak I’ve ever had!! Will and Derek were great! Very knowledgeable and they add their own culinary artistic touches to the menu. We will absolutely be joining again, 10/10 experience!

Lava Hot Springs Downtown Park is a charming spot in Idaho, offering a mix of historic buildings and quaint shops to explore. The park boasts a clean environment, ample parking with grilling facilities, and stunning views of the river. It serves as an excellent entry point for rafting adventures and provides a peaceful atmosphere for relaxation.
This park definitely needed these upgrades with how big the crowds have been getting—things were starting to get out of control. It’s great to see Lava reinvesting into the community. Especially with the new tax increase on all the tourists, they should be able to make these improvements now. The next big fix should be widening the bridge so tubers can safely walk across without worrying about vehicles. That would make a huge difference!

Lava Hot Springs Foundation World Famous Hot Springs is a natural hot spring destination with various outdoor pools offering different temperature levels. Visitors can enjoy a relaxing soak in the hot springs or take a swim in the regular pools. The facility also includes a shop and provides amenities such as showers, changing rooms, and lockers for an additional fee. The well-organized pools are clearly labeled with water temperatures, catering to visitors of all ages.
Lava Hot Springs Foundation – A Sacred Balance Between Healing, Fun, and Flow Lava Hot Springs isn’t just a place — it’s an energy. And the Lava Hot Springs Foundation? They’ve done a phenomenal job of protecting, preserving, and sharing that energy with the world in a way that feels both rooted and progressive. From the moment you step into the mineral-rich pools — naturally odorless and constantly refreshed by the earth itself — you can feel the shift. It’s like the land remembers how to heal you before you even ask. The Foundation operates with no taxpayer funding — it’s entirely sustained by those who choose to soak, swim, or splash. That matters. It shows a commitment to balance: ecological, economic, and communal. You get the sense they’re not just running a business; they’re tending a fire. They’ve created something that honors the natural gifts of the land without over-commercializing them — and that’s rare these days. The facilities are incredibly well-maintained. You’ve got the classic hot pools (always clean and not too crowded if you go at the right times), but also a full-blown aquatic complex with waterslides, an Olympic pool, kiddie sections, and green park areas that invite families, elders, and solo travelers alike. It’s one of those places where everyone can find their rhythm — whether you’re there to soak in silence or cannonball into laughter. And the upgrades? Thoughtful. Strategic. They’re not just building for tourism; they’re building for legacy. Long-term projects like improved parking, enhanced accessibility, and even discussions about geothermal sustainability show that this isn’t a quick-turn operation. It’s a generational offering — for Idaho and for anyone seeking deeper connection with water, heat, and land. I respect how transparent they are too. Board meetings are open. Plans are published. It’s not hidden behind some bureaucracy. That kind of openness builds trust — and it’s exactly the kind of foundation that deserves ongoing community support. If you’ve never been, go. And if you’ve been before, go again — but this time, slow down. Let the waters speak. Let the steam remind you that healing isn’t always dramatic — sometimes it’s as simple as soaking, breathing, and remembering who you are.

Lava Hot Springs is a wonderfully relaxing and family-friendly destination that’s perfect for unwinding. The natural hot pools range in temperature from 102°F to 112°F, offering options for everyone—from gently warm to deeply soothing. The entire facility is clean and well-maintained, with friendly staff who make the experience even better. They offer convenient amenities like showers, changing rooms, and the option to rent towels or swimsuits if you didn’t bring your own. Whether you’re stopping by for a short soak or spending a few hours here, it’s a great way to relax and enjoy the healing mineral waters. Highly recommended for both locals and travelers passing through!

Worth every minute. The town is quaint and interesting. Neat bars, restaraunts and hotels-motels. Ice cream and pizza too. Music in the park every Saturday. Tubing on river through town. Good day trip or over night two day trip.Hot spring water is HOT. Different HOT pools. Nice garden walk and snack shops. Free street parking. Limited though for trailers. But free public parks and playgrounds and off street parking. Could get crowded in-season but worth it. Would be fun in winter snow too. Cool place.

It was so much fun! We had ages 7-60 with our family and it was AMAZING! We all had fun! Clean locker rooms, and heated walkways, and the cutest hillside garden and decorations! There was different temperatures and depths of water to accommodate anyone and everything and all of the pools had a ramp if you can't walk down stairs! We will definitely go back

We had a great experience. Arrived during the week, opted to go to the hot pools. Arrived around 10/11 AM, light people traffic, plenty of space available. Towel rental available, showers and snacks from gift shop. Pool temps range from 102-112 F approximately. Staff was friendly and explained everything well. Make sure you keep your receipt if you rent a towel. Facilities clean and orderly. Purchased tickets upon arrival without issue, but experience may vary during different times of the year.

We were here in a perfect Wednesday- there were very few people. We learned they empty and clean the pools every night. The staff was friendly and the pools are glorious. The garden around the pools is amazing and there are such cute little additions.

Lava Hot Springs is a beautiful place for mineral pools. Well maintained, with multiple pools ranging from 102-112 degrees, no cool pool. A couple of hot tubs, showers, lockers and water fountains. It has shade covers, lots of greenery and flowers about the grounds, and only $7.50 to enter. Wonderful visit!

The river rafting was such a great time and affordable. We warmed up in the hot spring. We were there on a Saturday late afternoon in September. It was not overwhelmingly packed. It was very relaxing and clean changing rooms

Breakfast restaurant
The 78 Main Street Eatery is a relatively new establishment in town that offers an unexpectedly sophisticated dining experience. Despite being located in a small town, this restaurant manages to provide creative and unique dishes that still maintain a homely feel. Their breakfast menu features highly recommended stuffed french toast, while their dinner menu includes the enticing Elk surf n' turf. With its upscale ambiance and delectable cuisine, the 78 Main Street Eatery is definitely worth a visit for those seeking a memorable dining experience.
Inviting staff! We ate here simply because of how friendly the staff was. They made our large group feel welcome and provided a great atmosphere as we were there. Hamburgers were great the French dip sliders were amazing and kids loved the Mac and cheese.

Waiter was nice and friendly. My husband and I ordered the fish & chips & beast burger with onion rings. We did have to wait awhile. However, the power went out for a quick minute while we were there so not sure how much that played a part in it. The portions were decent. The Food was ok… my vegetables for my burger looked like they had previously been frozen. The fries weren’t crispy and the food tasted oily. Overall it was palatable but not great.
Megan U — Google review
They redid their menu at the beginning of June this year and our first trip back was extremely disappointing. The menu options are limited and overpriced. Both items my wife and I used to order are gone. Portion was decent, but the only thing I enjoyed on the plate was the breakfast potatoes. Either the waitress did not know what she was talking about or she flat out lied to me about the food preparation. This used to be the place I brought people who visited for a great breakfast. I guess I will start looking elsewhere, it was mediocre at best. They put a lot of money into fixing up the building and then this…bummer. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!!! Catering to tourists rather than locals—may be a hard winter for this business.

The food took very long to come out, and only 3 family’s were in there, so pretty empty. i ordered a “skillet mac and cheese” they told me the first batch “didn’t work out” so they’re making it fresh. my mom ordered a bleu cheese bacon burger. the food came out out and disappointed is an understatement. my mac and cheese was SO soupy, and COLD. my moms burger had NO bleu cheese and the burger tasted like rubber. only good thing was the sweet potato fries.
Margret W — Google review
Have eaten there many times before. Was always good This time My Patti melt and fries were lacking their past greatness. Fire were COLD to the touch as well as the inside, cold… My Patti melt was not toasted, meat not cooked and they have definitely changed their beef patties. So whoever bought this new place and decided to run numbers instead of value of customers , is lacking true business knowledge.

The staff was kind. But we were brought two over cooked steaks and the burger was brought with the wrong meat on it (supposed to be chicken). Also there was no music playing and the place was silent

We were seated right away, which started things off well. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives ended. The hostess said she’d be back to take our drink order but never returned. About 20 minutes later, our server came by, and we ordered coffee and water. We were told there weren’t any clean coffee mugs — not a great sign. Ten minutes later, we finally received steaming hot coffee. When we asked for cream and sugar, it took another seven minutes for creamer to arrive, but no sugar. When we asked again, the hostess looked around and ended up grabbing packets from another table. No one ever came back to check on refills. An hour after ordering, our food finally arrived. The chicken fried steak was fine — nothing special. The eggs benedict was disappointing: the English muffin was soggy, the eggs were cold, and the Hollandaise sauce was thick and gelatinous. It tasted oddly similar to the gravy on my husband’s chicken fried steak, just with lemon and mustard added. The ham looked like it came from a package of Carl Buddig deli meat — the only part worth eating. When our food was served, the server said she’d bring more coffee but never returned. Before that, the hostess had mistakenly brought us a bowl of creamer meant for another table and even tried to serve us someone else’s food. Overall, the service was poor, the food was disappointing, and we left hungry and frustrated. Definitely not worth a return visit.

The Purple Moon in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho is a charming world market offering unique and fascinating items from around the globe. This cute little hippie store exudes small town vibes and features an array of cool incense, tapestries, sculptures, stones, tarot cards, and decorations. While some find the prices a bit high due to its touristy location, others believe it's worth it for the quality of gemstones and soothing stones available.
Pricy, but this is understandable with the nature of the gemstones sold here. I loved the soothing stones and all the bonsai trees. Great little shop to stop by when you’re in Lava. Staff are friendly
Lucy B — Google review
Adorable little shop! Prices are a little high but also it’s a tourist town so understandable! The staff ladies were very friendly and answered a lot of questions! Fun and unique items all around this shop! Loved it!
Kara W — Google review
Don’t come to this store. If you want to buy cheaper, better quality products and not get accused of stealing then go to blue jay inn right across the street. An employee at Purple Moon accused my friends of shoplifting and searched their bags because they are “teenage girls”. She didn’t take us seriously until we came with an adult and her excuse was that stuff went missing the last time we were there (even though many people were In the store.) My friend went back and returned all the stuff that we bought the last time we were there because we don’t want to support a store that accuses costumers of stealing. There are also signs in the store that say “smile, you’re on camera” so we asked the lady to check the cameras and she said “I don’t have access to that” which I think was a lie. Either they don’t have cameras or they just accuse people (specifically teens)of stealing their overpriced and poor quality products. (The photo is the stuff we apparently “stole” smh🤦‍♀️).

Drove to Purple Moon specifically for my Birthday. 11/16 really wanting to spend alot of money on a birthstone ring. Something sparkling and beautiful. The person operating the counter was either really tired or hated me (that's how she made me feel) Even to look at November birthstones Size 7-8-9. This person acted like they couldn't be bothered with me being there at all. Just awful. I was happy entering and left heartbroken with nothing. I really sincerely miss the old Purple Moon. 12+ yrs ago. The man that ran it was phenomenal. He made you feel wonderful. He was personable, full of knowledge and made you feel important. Not sure what this was, but it definitely wasn't it and will keep me from returning. 💔

We are so sad. 6 of us ladies went in to the shop today. We live out of state. We visit Lave at least twice a year. One of the highlights is shopping at the Purple Moon. It is always such a beautiful environment. So welcoming. Like a loving shopping experience. Today was the complete opposite. The 2 women were unbelievably rude. I could give details and we still all spent $$$$$ but basically we left uncomfortable and dejected. We had to pump ourselves back up to be positive and have fun! We’re kindly asking that you train and/or emplore your employee to embrace the environment they are not only working in but representing. We hope the next time we visit our love for this establishment is renewed.

Horseback riding service
Lava Horseback Adventures LLC offers a unique Idaho vacation experience, allowing visitors to explore the rugged countryside of Lava Hot Springs on well-trained horses guided by friendly wranglers. The guides go above and beyond to ensure a memorable experience, with one even driving in from Wyoming at the last minute. The short drive outside of town leads to the trailhead where riders are provided with water before embarking on a mellow ride along the mountainside overlooking Lava.
Had a great experience! I am a very inexperienced horse rider and felt comfortable with our guides and horses (even though we went up and down some steep inclines and declines). All the handlers were incredibly nice and provided a lot of good information and answered all our questions, as well as personable conversation during the ride. The area they take you through is gorgeous and picturesque, if your visiting ID definitely a cool way to see scenic areas through an experience instead of necessarily hiking or driving. It’s a great combo to go horseback riding and finish at the hot spring foundation!

My wife and I recently did a two hour trail ride with Lava Horseback Adventures and the experience was flawless! Our guide, Jessica, was great. We have limited experience riding horses decades ago, and our horses were great. Very tame and responsive to commands. The views of the area were fantastic; lots of wildflowers out when we went. I would definitely recommend the two-hour over the one-hour ride; one hour just doesn't seem like it would be enough to see the best sights available. If you're looking for something fun and a little different to do in the Lava or even the greater Yellowstone and Jackson Hole area, this is a great option. Highly recommended, and we may even make this an annual thing going forward.
Mike P — Google review
We had Jessica as our guide and she was wonderful. I really valued the way she educated us and gave us tips on how to handle parts of the trail. The views were spectacular and she took plenty of photos!

I absolutely loved this ride. Nothing beats being on a mountain and a horse at the same time! Took my daughter as a surprise. The company is top notch and the horses are well taken care of and not over ridden. Will be back again. Thx🙏🏼

Absolutely 100% AMAZING ride!! Complete peace and tranquility for me! Desperately needed some equine time and Breeze was a super mare, sure footed, calming personality and very beautiful! Anden was a brilliant guide, answered questions and sat quietly too, allowing me the time I needed to unwind. Spectacular views everywhere I looked!!! 100% recommend! 😁
Rach M — Google review
I'd say my experience was okay, I went here for my honeymoon and they let me do pictures with my wedding dress! That's the only reason I didn't give them 1 star. Truly nice people. This Horseback Adventures was truly an adventure. There were 2 ladies that took us for a ride. Jessica and I think Amber~ gosh i think ive forgot her name but let's call her Ambet. Nice people! The owner showed up while the girls were tacking the horses and we waited maybe 10 to 15 min before our ride started. The ride was supposed to be from 10:30-12:30. We showed up 10 minutes early. Felt like we waited forever but we started our ride at about 10:50. Unfortunately Jessica (our horse back guide) choose a horse that she had never taken on the trail before. The trail was definitely a more expiernced trail. Very steep and next to cliffs. Not even half way through the ride, Jessica's horse went crazy and made the other horses buck up and get scared. Fortunate, our group stayed calm, and no one was thrown off. Jessica and her horse went to the back while amber the other horse guide, stated her horse was not a good leading horse. The ride was then turned around, and Amber led us back. She insisted her horse was not good at leading but was doing okay causing some stress from my husband and I. We stopped for like 10 min to do "photos" (which we never received). Jessica tried to go back to leading, and her horse kept acting up. It felt very unprofessional and risky on her part to take a horse that she didn't know. The ride was only about an hour and 12 minutes take out the waiting time I'd say we went for a little under an hour ride. We paid for 2 hours so we felt like we were cut short. We can blame Jessica's Horse acting up but we were not offered a refund or anything to accommodate the missing time of our ride. We were asked how it went by the owner when we got back. I explained what happned and he made short of the expiernce. I was mostly stressed out during this experience and I'm not sure if we will ever go back.

This was such a fun experience! Our guide Jessica was so kind and knowledgable. She was genuine in all that she did and made us feel instantly comfortable. The horses were well taken care of and easy to ride. 100% recommend!

(Translated by Google) The town is most famous for its hot springs. But if you don't want to soak, you can still browse the shops or stroll through this small park. Google Maps shows N Center St. as the only way to get there. But there's actually a small bridge connecting to Eruption Brewery & Bistro and N 2nd E. The population is only around 250 people. We visited in October, which wasn't peak season, so we avoided the crowds and were able to enjoy the tranquility and beauty. Perhaps Americans are accustomed to this kind of scenery, but for us from Taiwan, it's truly rare to see the vibrant colors of autumn leaves in such pleasant weather without crowds. Listening to the sound of running water, we walked through the vast woods without worrying about mosquitoes. Residents walking their dogs along the way were always friendly and said hello. I really loved the atmosphere of this small park.
