Theme park
Water & Amusement Parks
Water park
Adventure World is Perth's premier theme park, offering an array of thrilling rides and attractions for visitors of all ages. The park boasts over 25 exhilarating rides, including the award-winning Abyss roller coaster and the enchanting Dragons Kingdom. Additionally, Adventure World is set to unveil a $7 million mega water slide, making it the steepest, tallest, and longest of its kind globally.
Just loved Adventure world! We've been to the 2 water parks in Melbourne where we live and all the theme parks in Gold Coast. Honestly didn't expect much in Perth but wow we're we surprised. The roller-coaster was super fun! Only about a 5-10min wait, I loved how the split the line from front and back seats so it's faster. Personally I think the ride could have been faster but still great. The Goliath was epic, a must see. Cracken was great too, very similar to the ones in the east with little wait. Go karts go about 30kmph so a little slow but kids loved it, you need a tshirt and closed shoes. We had our 3yo with us, so we spent a lot of time at the toddler/little kids area. Great space and so many rides. I think adventure world beats all the east theme parks in this department. The kids were there for 2hours and will loved it. Loads of car park space, lockers and toilets for everyone. Highly recommend going.

Heaps to do and see, for all ages. We were they from opening and took snacks to save money for a souvenirs / matching bracelets. Lots has improved since this place opened. Fond memories for everyone.

Definitely come to Adventure world during the weekdays between morning to afternoon, there is less rush and you’ll make your money’s worth by coming. Sure is one of the most expensive parts of Perth, but utilising your season pass will pay off the fun. Perhaps one of my favourite rides was the abyss, the dynamic and the thrill gave an excitement which made me go on for six times. Food on the other hand was satisfactory, I ordered cheese pizza which was quite expensive considering how small it was, it came out quite burnt. Luckily, the lady was nice and gave me another pizza but it was still burnt. But I’m not a fussy eater so I ate the pizza anyway. Overall Adventure world is costly but it is a nice place with a nice environment and SpongeBob like song choices. It’s a family fun environment and has great ride options however they should add a lot more rides. The cost is way too much so you should get the season pass. Overall four star rating

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦Went to Adventure World on a Monday — highly recommend if you enjoy not standing in queues. Rides were basically “walk in, scream, repeat.” 👶We took a 4-year-old and a 1.5-year-old. Baby got her standard two rides (the VIP baby package, apparently), then spent the rest of the day supervising other people’s fun. 🩷Our 4-year-old, however, treated the place like her personal theme park and went on her favourite rides three or four times without a single wait. 🍕The park itself? Beautiful. Clean. Lots to do if your kids are big enough. 🙃**A few staff members had that “please don’t talk to me” customer-service energy, but nothing tragic.** If you’re planning a visit: weekdays = peaceful, minimal queues, maximum energy left at the end of the day. Kids will be thrilled; parents will survive. Overall, worth it.

Took 5 grandchildren there durning the school holidays. They had a ball. I hardly saw them I got to sit in the shade and relax with a wine while they played and had rides etc.

We’ve been Adventure World season pass holders for two years now - mainly because it’s right next to our son’s ice hockey training at Cockburn Ice Arena, so it’s been a convenient place to unwind after games. Last year, we went four or five times and had some great experiences with friendly and proactive staff. However, our recent visit (Sat 18 Oct) was disappointing. The park was crowded (as it often is), and we waited around 40 minutes for just one ride. It’s a consistent issue - if you’re there for only 2 hours, you’re lucky to experience three or four rides. What made this visit particularly unpleasant was an incident on the pedal ride (the one where you cycle around the park) at 16 55 pm on Sat 18 Oct (giving you the exact time so you can find out who was working on the ride then - 2 young ladies - and provide them with adequate training). A group of teenagers behind me repeatedly bumped into my carriage, even after I asked them to stop. It eventually caused me to be pushed into a staff member at the unloading area, who initially thought it was my fault. Although the situation was later understood, it was disappointing that one of the attendants chose to turn it into a joke rather than handle it seriously (her exact words to the teenagers were: so, are you gonna pay me money to forgive you for your behaviour?) It didn’t feel professional or safe at all, and there was no: so sorry you had to go through this - zero empathy (instead I was accused of bumping into the attendant on purpose). Adventure World has a lot going for it - beautiful grounds, fun rides, and family-friendly facilities - but staff training really needs improvement. Team members should be better equipped to handle guest behaviour, have difficult conversations respectfully, and maintain a sense of authority without escalating situations. We always bring our own food because the food lines are long and prices are quite high when the park is crowded. Unfortunately, after this experience, we’re reconsidering renewing our season pass next year.
Anna C — Google review
I would recommend this park for families with young children or teenagers. However, the weight restrictions did impact our visit, as we were only able to go on a few of the waterslides. We now realise this information is noted on the website, but it would be helpful if it were made more prominent. The monorail has also changed to allow only one adult at a time, which made the experience feel a little underwhelming after waiting in the queue. We brought our own food and drinks to save money, which worked well, and the locker system was excellent. The rides were fun but limited and we thought it would be great to have small TV screens displaying ride photos to help keep guests entertained while waiting in line. Overall, we would definitely recommend the park to visitors under 90kg, as they’ll get the most out of the experience.
Kayla R — Google review
Adventure World is a fantastic theme park that offers a great mix of thrilling rides, exciting water slides, and a fun atmosphere. I recently visited the park and was thoroughly impressed with the experience. One of the highlights of my visit was the incredible selection of rides. The Abyss roller coaster was an absolute adrenaline rush, with its steep drops and fast twists. I also enjoyed the Kraken, a unique water slide that sends you plummeting down a near-vertical drop. For those looking for something a bit more relaxed, the park also offers a variety of family-friendly rides. The water park section of Adventure World is equally impressive. The Kahuna Falls is a massive water playground with multiple slides and water features, perfect for cooling off on a hot day. The Lagoon is a huge pool that's great for swimming and relaxing. In addition to the rides and water slides, I was also impressed with the cleanliness of the park. The grounds were well-maintained, and the facilities were spotless. This made for a more enjoyable experience overall. I also had the chance to attend one of Adventure World's night time events. The atmosphere was electric, with music, lights, and special entertainment. It was a truly memorable experience. Overall, I highly recommend Adventure World to anyone looking for a fun-filled day out. With its thrilling rides, exciting water slides, clean environment, and amazing night time events, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

Explore the unique and captivating Coogee Maritime Trail, an extraordinary underwater adventure in Western Australia. This trail stands out as the first of its kind in WA, offering an array of exciting activities for visitors to enjoy. One of its notable highlights is the Omeo Shipwreck, situated just 25 meters from the shore, making it Perth's most accessible snorkel site with a rich history to uncover.
Such a magic spot and a little hidden which is even better for us locals. Gorgeous from.underwater and above. In summer or winter.. Love the crystal clear water and the days spent here.. now with large steps and easy access
Renae P — Google review
This beach has clear water and soft sand, and you can even go snorkeling to explore the remains of an old shipwreck. The water is calm and shallow enough to swim around the wreck. There are freshwater showers on shore, but keep in mind that the public restroom — where you can change — seems to be the only one, and it’s not located near the shipwreck site.
Tracy K — Google review
Always love going to Coogee Maritime Trail, always see lots of different sea life. Great place for snorkeling/scuba diving.
Isabella V — Google review
Wonderful spot to snorkel. The wreck is in great condition and in fairly shallow water, suitable for beginner to expert snorkelers. Visibility is perfect most of the time. The actual trail goes deeper and deeper and shows you great marine life. Every now and then there's a stinger, so watch out for those. There are no facilities and the nearest public shower is a 10 minute walk or 5 minute drive south.
Jonas V — Google review
Lovely little swimming and snorkelling spot. The Omeo wreck is only metres from the beach and great for kids and first time snorkelers. Plenty of fish to see but can get very busy with restricted visibility from all the sand being churned up. The snorkeling “trail” is a little overgrown and indistinct but we had fun swimming around looking for it. A few hundred metres down the beach is a netted off swimming area with floating pontoon. Was very popular with lap swimmers. Note parking is minimal be prepared to park in the streets and walk a bit to the beach.
David C — Google review
Great location with an awesome beach and snorkeling spot.
Zack C — Google review
Clear blue crystal, perfect for diving and swimming.
Mamade H — Google review
Good easy dive. If diving go early as some of the snorkelers get a bit pissy with divers.

Fremantle Prison is a significant historical site, serving as an interactive cultural exhibit on convict life. It offers tours and features a cafe for visitors to explore. Located in the town of Fremantle, this large penitentiary is the state's first jail and the largest structure built by convicts. The area also boasts other attractions such as the Western Australian Maritime Museum, which overlooks the Indian Ocean and showcases various maritime artifacts including a winning America's Cup yacht, Australia II.
I joined two tours consecutively, True Crime and Behind Bars. The entire experience was great! From the moment we stepped in, all the staff were very welcoming and helpful. From the guy I assume was acting as concierge, the receptionist lady, all the way to the guides. They all made our experience seamless. Sylvia was our guide for the true crime tour and she was absolutely lovely! If you get the chance to join her tour, you're in for a treat! She was an ex prison officer at the Fremantle Prison, so her stories were even more chilling from a first person perspective. But her humour balanced it out perfectly. It was interesting to learn that most of the guides earlier on were prison officers but I believe Sylvia is one of the last of these guides. Annette was our guide for behind bars and she was so friendly and knowledgeable. I also appreciated how she constantly acknowledged the presence of Aboriginals in the history she talks about. Certainly would want to come back for tunnel tours if we are in Fremantle again.
Paige C — Google review
We took the 4 PM guided tour at Fremantle Prison and found it genuinely interesting. The guide was knowledgeable and engaging, and the historical insights were well presented. It’s definitely worth visiting if you’re curious about Western Australia’s convict past and prison architecture. However, we were quite disappointed by the lack of clear information beforehand. We had called in advance and were told that the site was only accessible via guided tours, and that there was no walk-through museum. Based on that, we scheduled our visit around the tour. Unfortunately, after the tour ended, we discovered that there is in fact a museum area at the front of the prison. No one mentioned this to us on the phone or when we arrived, which was frustrating. By the time we finished the tour, those areas had already been closed off, so we missed them entirely. It’s a real shame, because we would have planned our visit differently had we known. Clearer communication would have made a big difference.
Andrea — Google review
Visited yesterday and got to see and learn some more history of this great town of ours.. Was very interesting listening to the stories of early pioneers and convicts that shaped our city. Walking through the prison was thought provoking, certainly was tough on the occupants throughout the years.
Bruce H — Google review
We visited the Fremantle prison today (Tuesday) around 12.15pm and was luckily told there was a Behind the Bars tour at 12.30pm. There are other tours that goes on at different times and the Tunnel tours. We only opted for the one tour where we only had 6 other people in this tour group. Our tour guide was James. He was very humorous and engaging. James made the tour fun and interesting. Thank you James for making us giggle! Had a great time learning about the history of the prison and the life of a prisoner. Would definitely want to the other tours another time when I visit Perth again!!! NOTE it was not busy on this tour Ticket price: AUD 24pp Duration of tour: 1 hour and 15 mins

Fremantle Prison was a super interesting visit with well-informed, engaging guides. I only toured the prison itself and was really pleased I went — lots of history and context. The tour might run a bit long for younger kids, but it’s excellent for adults and older teens.

I didn’t realise how incredible this place was until I got there! The visit was truly impressive, full of atmosphere, history, and emotion. Walking through the old cells and hearing about the early days of Western Australia gave me a real sense of what life was like back then. A must visit if you want to experience the true heritage of WA.

Highly recommend the Wednesday night Prison Torchlight Tour! Our guide was truly outstanding; their storytelling was superb, making the history feel incredibly real and interesting. It was a perfectly timed about 1.5-hour tour and was very reasonably priced. A fantastic night out that's excellent value for money. (Just a heads-up: parking will cost about $7 extra.)

I was surprised at how large the detention facility was. The guide was very thorough in explaining things. You can also borrow audio guides in other languages for free. You cannot tour the facility unless you make a reservation for the tour. I recommend making a reservation by phone.

Plenty of parking around and there are toilets on site. Plenty of picnic and BBQ places as well. There are walking/running tracks which have nice views of the river.

It is such a good place to bring your kids for weekends entertainment and fun. It's free for all. The playground has a good number of playground equipment and amenities. Kids seem to love the net-house style bridge. There is wildlife around the lake - a lot of birds. But lake looks really dry on the sides except in its centre.

Great enclosed playground for all ages kids, loads of climbing things, slides, swings, sand and water play, you name it. Plenty of bbq plates and seating area too. Ours favourite has to be the flying fox!

Please make the basketball courts 24 hours, getting a casual shoot around in is a hassle on the weekends due to how many people there are and every weekday afternoon the courts are taken up for planned events/sports. You’ll be the only high end 24hr indoor basketball centre, and I’d be willing to pay a membership for it 👍 I just wanna hoop early in the morning around 4-5am

The customer service is pleasant enough behind counter for pool entry, HOWEVER over the last 5 years visiting this place for hydrotherapy, most times we go into the disabled toilets it looks like this, and this is the cleaners, not customers doing this. Disgusting. How is a person when disabled meant to access the toilet? Even if the access was there, the lack of hygiene or lack of respect for their work as a cleaner, is evident. Please fix this. Also to maintenance ...How hard is it to buy a shower head from Bunnings that works? Not hard at all. The amount of money this place makes it's not much to spend. Step up your game and show done respect. Thank you.
Tam — Google review
So you work hard all week and the only thing you want on Saturday morning is to go for a swim and steam room. No. It's not possible. Cockburn Arc won't let you. This is because out of 8 lines in the indoor pool, 6 are closed and you are not allowed to swim there. Yeah, swimming classes only and a giant inflatable water caste. I guess it pays more to have swimming classes. Only 2 lanes are open to to us. 1 is reserved for playing and 1 is either for walking or slow swimming. So, again if you want to swim, you can't. Anyway, after enquiring about the situation at the information desk, I was told, "I understand you, you can go to swim on lane number 6" only to be kicked out by a swimming instructor 5 minutes later. The staff said, why don't you go outside to swim? Well, is June and is winter, that's why, you know? So I asked the guy at the information desk if I could please talk with his supervisor. Well.... guess what? The supervisor was on break!! Sure... silly me! So, when I asked when they will return to their break, the answer was " well I m not sure.. just hang around..." Yeah, sure..... Ah did I mention that, despite the City of Cockburn sinking millions of dollars for the redevelopment of the centre, and I am a City of Cockburn ratepayer, in addition to being unable to swim on a Saturday morning for a lack of available swimming lanes, the SPA was out for approximately 3 months this year and the steam room is still unavailable... Do you think they gave a discount for it? No. You pay the same rate but you receive half the service. Nice isn't?! When I enquired about this in the past I was told that if I didn't like it I could either cancel or suspend the membership. This is what you call a 5 star service!!!!! Well done everyone, your service and management skills are outstanding!!!
Andy — Google review
Been a member for a couple weeks now focusing on using the gym. They are in the middle of renovations and are due to close for almost two weeks so that would have been nice to know before signing up, but maybe I'm just looking for excuses to delay joining the gym. The facilities overall are pretty good and I'm excited to see how the new floor turns out. Changing rooms are good, membership fee is reasonable and you can put membership on hold for 12 weeks per year. The equipment is in good condition and the giant window let in a lot of wonderful natural light. The wristband tag for lockers and entry is good and there are wipe dispensers everywhere. But with all those wipe dispensers, requires staff who actually check them. Frequently I see them empty. A lot of the machines aren't even plugged in and the technogym integration is incredibly frustrating. So much that I don't use it. There are also a very limited number of machines and some only one of, hopefully the balance will improve. The layout is also a bit of a challenge. Overall I like it, looking forward to them refining some rough edges in the future.
Charlie J — Google review
I have rejoined after some time away. The new gym set up is fantastic with lots of new machines and everything you could want. Unfortunately though, there does not seem to be the same commitment to hygiene that used to be here. Lots of people now are getting around with no towel, and not wiping machines down either. I have noticed there are less staff on the floor when I go (mid-afternoon) and they seem more interested in chatting than working.
Darren S — Google review
Desk staff on Saturday at 5pm 18/10 at the entrance were unhelpful and rude. I have been a gym member for almost a decade, and never encountered such rude ignorant staff. Quality of the gym has gone down over the years, but fees just keep going up. Overcrowded, not maintained properly, unclean, disorganised, courts always overcrowded with constant events taking over. No wonder 50% of people there use the courts without paying. Rude staff get anal about suspension dates with loyal paying members like me but allow non-paying non-members to just get in and use the courts without paying. Go do your actual job on the non-paying non-members and be respectful of your actual loyal members.
Nathan Y — Google review
Have been coming here to do physio for 3+ years, and hadn't had any problems. Until getting stopped today and told they've changed the policy and the physio needs to buy a day pass now - unless they're from an affiliate organisation, of course. I've been going to the same physio company since I was 10 years old, and now they're saying it's $400 every 3 months for the privilege of being able to have someone come in and help me maintain the ability to walk. And too bad, because they had a tiny little notice on the front desk, way off to the side of the kiosks that you just buzz through to go inside - and not on the 40 screens inside the gym, where they're advertising more important things, like their new personal trainers and the extra add-ons you can pay for on top of the price of your membership. Thanks guy

Great location. Being relatively new the facility is in great condition. The ice is perfect, at least in relation to its competition, the ablutions are clean, the cafe is fairly priced and the staff are very friendly. There is a self serve DJ set up which is a great feature. This is a great location to bring your date, or kids for a great night out.

We love coming to Cockburn Ice Arena. The facilities are always clean, well looked after, and it’s such a welcoming environment. The coaches and staff are professional, supportive, and really create a great atmosphere for learning and enjoying skating. It’s clear how much effort goes into keeping everything running smoothly. Such a fantastic place for skaters of all levels. Highly recommend

Lots of fun for those with a bit if experience with oce skating. For those first timers, i recommend getting some tups or hints from someone because theres all types of skaters there - some fast that tend to stay around the middle but some hang around the wall and may not always watch out for the beginners. Last night (Friday evening) was a little crowded for a special event but not too bad. The arena is cold inside, so wear warm clothes. The Frostbite Cafe and 401 cabin is warm and great to have a bite to eat qnd something to drink. (Get in before 8:45pm and you'll be able to have something to eat and drink there.) Cabin 401 was so welcoming, nice and made so many adjustments for us. They had great customer service and the food and drinks wwre good. Our steak was large and cooked well with a really good serve of chips and large salad. It was delicious. I can't thank them enough for going out of their way for us. Thank you!! The staff at the skate hire kiosk were really helpful and seemed friendly and knowledgeable. Overall a great experience for us. The only thing I noticed that could perhaps improve was the customer service on the front desk and at frostbite Cafe and maybe check in on the beginners on the ice a bit more, but it was quite busy and late so I dont blame the staff for being tired! I dont know how they keep up with all the kids and adults alike. The games were fun for those who knew how to skate. Thanks for the good work everyone in making it fun and reasonably safe enough.
Melissa N — Google review
Awesome place to come for a night out doing something fun and active. Being so close to Cabin 401 gives a close and delicious dinner option for before as well. The cafe is great for a snack while skating too.
Teniele — Google review
really good ice compared to the rink in malaga, and they have a warm cafeteria as well. skates might hurt your feet so make sure to buy the premium ones if you want a better experience. and wear warm clothing, like a down jacket, and warm pants, cuz it’s really cold.
Alice — Google review
It was a very quiet Monday, which is actually nice, but it takes a while until we get a staff member to let us in. The ice was smooth and the rink was spacious. It's recommended to check the time on the website before you go there because one session is 2 hours. The only regret is that we did't get the comfy skates so hubby got blisters, but I was alright. Overall we're happy with the experience .
Honest K — Google review
Amazing! We travel a long distance just to attend the incredible classes here. The coaches acknowledge skill and appreciate the effort of their students. The atmosphere is so happy all the time, everyone enjoys it here. Never returning to any other ice rinks - so worth the travel!

Fremantle Markets, established in 1897, is a bustling indoor market offering a wide array of goods including food, local produce, clothing, and handicrafts. The market is housed in a historic building and has become a hub for local talent, supporting fashion designers and musicians. Visitors can also enjoy nearby attractions such as bookshops and boutiques along South Terrace. Additionally, the area offers dining options ranging from inspired bakeries to fish markets.
Definitely go and check out this place. It was quite busy but worth fighting the crowds. Food was absolutely in abundance. Lots of stalls to look at and the atmosphere was terrific. The fruit and veg stalls were super fresh and if I lived locally I'd definitely be a regular visitor.
Kylie R — Google review
Pretty nice place to walk around! The market’s split into two parts — one side has more products and goods, the other side is the food and wet market. The goods are mostly the usual market items, but still fun to browse. The food section is the highlight — lively atmosphere, good smells everywhere, and lots to try. Worth a visit if you’re in Fremantle!
Eunice Y — Google review
Pretty small and not the most amazing of markets I’ve been to. There’s some food on the other section that was interesting like Burek and Tibetan but I think if you’re really tight on time you can skip this place. Only the coffee beans store I saw was truly unique. The market also has started having pop mart and labubus popping up, making it more commercial than i thought. Interestingly the urinals are pretty cool, first time I’ve seen them like this.

A must visit if in Perth. Open on weekends, this place is bursting with art, toys, food, culture, homemade craft, fun, and exudes a great family vibe. Drop by, grab a souvenir, some grub and a some lovely fruit to make your weekend perfect.

If it's your first time visiting, this iconic market must be on your list! It's a small market with local artisans. Could be crowded if you come around lunch time on a sunday. We rounded it twice, once to have an overview & the second time to buy what we wanted. The honey cake was a standout imo. It was so so good! Maybe just have a slice.. or two! We also tried Lola's giant spring roll (crispy pork) which was also good and very filling. A bit on the oily side but the vinegar and sweet chili sauce makes up for it. Perfect tasty snack!

A must-visit in Perth – full of life and local charm! Fremantle Markets is one of the best places to experience the real Perth vibe. The atmosphere is vibrant and colourful, with buskers playing music, the smell of amazing street food, and people from all over the world wandering through the old heritage halls. I loved the mix of handmade crafts, vintage clothes, Aboriginal art, fresh produce and international food stalls — there’s something new around every corner. The building itself is beautiful and full of history, which makes the visit even more special. It gets busy on weekends, but that’s part of the fun — the energy is incredible. Everyone’s friendly, the food is fresh, and the music gives it a great local feel. If you’re visiting Perth, you can’t miss Fremantle Markets. Go during the day to catch the live buskers and soak in the atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone who loves local culture, food, and good vibes!

-Nice place to visit for FREE. with a lively local vibe and lots of interesting stalls. However, it’s more of a one-time experience, once is enough. -Kindly note the trading days of this place. -There’s a toilet available, but seating areas are quite limited, so it can be tricky to find a spot to sit and eat. -Surprisingly, there weren’t as many yummy food stalls as expected. -Overall, a fun stop while in Fremantle, but not something I’d return to often.
Edlyn A — Google review
What a bustling place this is. Full of independent and food stalls it was packed when we visited and this was only a Sunday in early Spring. It’s an historic old building worth a walk through and a browse. It was the vibrancy that struck me. Almost as manic as a Turkish Bazaar.

Situated on the shore of the Indian Ocean, the WA Maritime Museum in Fremantle is a captivating waterfront attraction that offers a glimpse into Western Australia's maritime heritage. The museum features various galleries showcasing the state's deep connection with the ocean, displaying leisure boats, sailing vessels, and commercial pearl luggers. Visitors can explore iconic vessels such as Australia II, which won the America's Cup, an Oberon class submarine named HMAS Ovens, and Jon Sanders Parry Endeavour.
Such a fun day out! The museum is amazing with the way they've displayed everything! My grandparents and I had a wonderful time 🩵 Highly recommend!

This is a world class museum that has been refurbished not long ago. I planned to stay there for half a day, but ended up spending a whole day there. I am glad that I visited the museum before starting my WA tour. The exhibits and the related explanation provide very comprehensive background information on the sites that I was going to visit. This made the tour so much more interesting. There is an admission fee of $15.

Great space and area to stay around for the day. The museum does a great job at utilizing architectural techniques that transforms the space into a flowing environment demonstrating and showcasing stunning and awe inspiring pieces perfectly staged within the building. Very fun for middle aged children with plenty of things to do

If you're going to see the submarine during school holidays, book in advance. The website is terrible and hard to find booking button, so just be aware. Easiest to just google "HMAS Ovens Tour" and click first link that cones up. I had mum over from melb, and she had specific questions which the manager helped us out. He was amazing, so big thanks to the staff there. Syd who gave the submarine tour was also amazing, ex submariner who knew everything in detail. Fantastic opportunity, must do. Few tight spots and stairs though for oldies.

The WA Shipwrecks Museum, housed in a restored 1850s-era commissariat building, is a captivating attraction in Fremantle. It boasts an extensive collection of shipwreck artifacts that offer a unique insight into the maritime history of Western Australia. Visitors can explore original findings and exhibits from numerous shipwrecks along the coast, including artifacts from the earliest Australian shipwreck and stories of sunken ships dating back to the 1600s.
Awesome attention to detail in this museum. The content could exceed hours and hours of reading. Highly recommend visiting, of course free entry is an option. But a few coins from your car or handbag could contribute in a big way.

The museum is free admission but visitors can donate to the museum. It contains histories about so many ships that got stranded along the WA and Fremantle coastline. Interesting facts and stories, it also has a Batavia shipwreck on display. The museum shop is nice as well.

A very worthwhile visit for a small donation, this museum has some very interesting history and artefacts of shipping. A fabulous book and gift shop. Get there early and snag a carpark out front and then lunch at one of the several restaurants.

Lovely exhibit. Its amazing how much care in their restoration efforts they put into all of the displays. The front desk was super helpful and made sure to let me know that admission to the museum was free. You are free to donate to the WA shipwrecks museum and it is not blatant or forced. I enjoyed the hull of a wooden ship and how you can see it from 2 levels.

COOLEST MUSEUM EVER!!! You can see an actual (partial) shipwreck with interesting commentary from different prospectives and it’s so interesting to just navigate it on your own. I loved it. Oh, and best parti is— it’s free!

It's not a terribly big museum, but it houses some pretty big broken pieces of exhibits from various ship wrecks. There are quite a few old cannons as well as small artefacts on display. The anchor that is about 2-storey high is impressive. It's worth visiting if one is in the area. Admission is free.

The Round House, located in Fremantle, Western Australia, is a historic site that was originally built as a prison in 1831. This 12-sided building is the oldest public structure in Western Australia and offers visitors a glimpse into the region's convict history. The precinct also includes a courthouse, gallows, and a tunnel leading to Bathers Beach. Today, the Round House is open to the public for visits and donations are accepted for entry.
An iconic bit of Fremantle history.. Built in 1830, it is the oldest building in Fremantle and was originally used as a prison to house convicts. The structure is a unique, circular building built from the abundance of sandstone in the Perth and Fremantle region. It offers a fascinating glimpse into Western Australia's early colonial history. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of Fremantle, the Indian Ocean, and the harbor from the site, making it a great spot for photos. The Roundhouse is also home to an informative museum, with exhibits about the building's history and the role it played in the region's development. The site is free to enter, and it's located just a short walk from Fremantle’s city center, making it easy to combine with other local attractions. Every day at 1:00 PM, the cannon is fired, providing an interesting spectacle for visitors. It was a bit windy when I was there but that’s Fremantle on a good day. WA..(Windy Always)

This is the oldest public building in WA, built in 1830 and was originally a goal. It is free to enter but a donation is expected and they use it to maintain the building. Inside there are volunteers who will answer any questions and were helpful and friendly. You can even take that tacky photo with your head in stocks. At 1.00pm they fire the cannon and lower the time ball so worth visiting around that time. It doesn’t take long when visiting, but definitely add to your list when visiting Fremantle.

The Platter was a value for Money, it included Lobster and Oyster.. for $140, the drinks however wasn't priced before hand and it costs 6.60 each. You need to be present at the table when food has arrived otherwise the seagulls will devour it.

Nice place to chill out and have family fun. Kids get to play at playground. There's a ferris wheel. Seafood restaurants are nice. Nice view of the ocean. If you feel up to it you could take a dip in the water. We ate at kailis. You order at the counter and collect the food when ready. Food was good. I ordered from one counter and didn't realise that there were other options at the other end of the restaurant. Suggest you walk around first to see the options.

Glowing Rooms is a unique 3D glow-in-the-dark mini-golf course located in Perth, Australia. The indoor space spans over 800sqm and ensures a COVID-safe environment with a maximum of 60 customers at any given time. The course features vibrant colors, ultraviolet lights, and hand-painted artworks by local artists.
We visited the Glow Rooms in Fremantle as a family of four and absolutely loved it! We played the mini golf and had such a great time – the artwork throughout is incredible and really adds to the whole experience. The kids (and adults!) were amazed at how creative and fun it was. We were also really impressed with the friendly service on arrival, which made us feel welcome right away. Highly recommend for families looking for something unique and fun to do in Fremantle!
Rachel M — Google review
I have been to this wonderful establishment numerous times with both my friends and family. The time and talent gone into each glow room is extraordinary 🤌🏻✨ the artist really found a way to confuse and warp the mind with optical illusions and their realistic talent. It honestly does not get enough hype for how good it is and how long each individual room would have taken to create. Hats 🎩 off to its marvellous creator 👑🌹✨ This place is definitely worth visiting. I think there's 18 or 20 holes? Each one has its own little spin for you, some literally 😉😛 They also offer a grand section of munchies and drinks. The place has some other awesome features such as karaoke 🎤, virtual reality escape rooms and more ☺️ I would highly recommend this place for a date with your partner, day out with the kids or even just to escape with your friends. The only thing I had trouble with was the feeling of the glasses over my glasses 😂 but that's normal. Also peep at the Alice in wonderland themed art on the way to the bathrooms, I'm in love.

A super cool place with thoughtful design! Besides mini golf, you can also enjoy karaoke and table tennis. They offer simple meals, ice cream, and drinks—all prepared with care. It’s a perfect spot for family outings or gatherings with friends.
Penny S — Google review
The artwork is amazing. Had lots of fun playing mini golf with my friend, would definitely love to come back for a rematch. It would be handy if the edges/outside of each of the 18 lanes? were painted with luminous paint so they are more visible (I tripped over one and broke my toe on Saturday). I love that you can order drinks/cocktails while you're playing and get them delivered in there (not why I tripped, I was driving 😀). Would be a great place for a birthday party. Quite busy and loud, but that adds to the fun atmosphere. I had no problem wearing the 3D glasses over my usual spectacles but my friend found it a bit bulky/heavy so contacts might work better for some. The ladies working there were upbeat and fun. A bit disappointed they don't have the VR escape room option anymore, as it's still on the website. But well worth a visit for the golfing anyway.

The Tourist Wheel Fremantle, a beloved icon of the area, has been providing breathtaking views since 2013. Situated in Esplanade Park near the Fishing Boat Harbour, this 40-meter-high Ferris wheel offers panoramic vistas of Fremantle town, the Indian Ocean, and even Rottnest Island on clear days. Each enclosed gondola can accommodate six people and provides a roughly 10-minute ride.
Loved the experience. It is a must try for everyone. The ticket fee is $15 and, if memory serves me right, we went on top of the wheel some 10 times l so it's not a short ride. Do invest the time to visitnand have fun. Specially good for kids!

We did this as a bit of fun while holidaying. $15 for an adult with a stop at the top and you get 5 full rounds. Gorgeous views of Freo and will say if you're afraid of heights it's quite high with clear plastic all around you. I found it quite comfortable after an initial moment of anxiety. Worth it for the views and memories.

A fun ride even for those who have phobia with heights and speeds! The rides were enjoyable, and the view of the boats and Indian Ocean behind were amazing!

Great experience to get on the Ferris wheel if you’re at Fremantle area. You’ll get 5-6 rounds with each ride and there’s even a family package for tourists. You’ll be able to get super shots on top throughout the day with the blue sky as the background. Best time to go is during evening time before the sun sets. A must visit for everyone who’s in Fremantle! If it’s built higher I’ll give it a 5.

A wheel that goes very slow. It didn't realistically worth the $$ that we pay for. Views from the top is nice. Support staff who book people in was helpful and pleasant on the day we visited. Cabin's are safe.

It features honor avenues, war memorials, and historic landmarks. Visitors can take a free city bus to explore nearby attractions such as the Perth Cultural Centre, the Perth Mint, The Swan Bell Tower, and the new Elizabeth Quay.
Kings Park and Botanic Garden in Perth is one of the most beautiful and relaxing places to visit in Western Australia. Spanning over 400 hectares, it combines stunning natural bushland, landscaped gardens, and breathtaking views of the city and Swan River. From the moment you arrive, the park feels peaceful and welcoming, making it the perfect spot to unwind, explore, and connect with nature. The Botanic Garden is especially impressive, showcasing an incredible variety of native Australian plants. Walking through the gardens, you not only enjoy vibrant colors and unique plant life but also learn about Western Australia’s diverse flora. The wildflowers in spring are absolutely spectacular and attract visitors from all over the world. For families, the park is ideal, with plenty of open spaces for picnics, playgrounds for children, and shaded areas to relax. One of the highlights is the elevated Lotterywest Federation Walkway, which takes you through the treetops and offers stunning views of the Swan River and Perth skyline. Kings Park and Botanic Garden is truly a jewel of Perth and a must-see destination.

Kings Park and Botanic Garden is a vast park in Perth with an adjoining botanical garden. I visited Perth mainly to see the wildflowers in spring, which are famous here. During my three days in Perth, I came to Kings Park all three days. Although the weather wasn’t great for the first two days, the final day was sunny and bright, and I was able to see many plants shining beautifully in the sunlight. The park is very large, and walking around the entire area requires some stamina, but the Botanic Garden section is a comfortable size to explore on foot. I realized that many of the “wildflowers” here are actually well-maintained and cultivated under the management of the garden — not truly wild in the sense of untouched nature. It was a bit unexpected, but I appreciated the care and effort put into preserving and showcasing so many native plants in one place. Since the park sits on a hill, the view of the city is also beautiful. It’s a relaxing place for both tourists and locals alike. You can easily reach Kings Park by taking the free Perth BLUE CAT bus, which is very convenient for visitors since the regular bus system requires a transport card or exact cash.

Amazing old trees with many different varieties and every corner well maintained. Very long track all around with lovely view points on the city and south perth. Lots of historic monuments with descriptions, even for many trees! Like the huge Eucalyptus tree planted by the Queen 75 yrs ago! It's a huge magnificent one with a trunk of I guess more than +1500mm of diameter. I recommend having a walk through this lovely park.

This place is a blessing in Perth. So close to the city and extremely accessible. Would be a great day out for a picnic or a nice stroll. Plenty of parking or take a free public transport from the city. Enjoy the native flora and fauna while you have your picnic or social catch up in the park or one of the restaurants.
Deepak S — Google review
We walked around the park for 4 hours and still didn't cover half of it. The look outs, tree top walk, the gardens, the walks are all amazing. Perth really has outdone itself and this place is definitely a gift to the locals and visitors.

A must visit when in Perth, with a hilltop view of the city and nice walks along the trails. A couple of highlights include the glass bridge, the memorial and the water gardens. There’s also a fancy cafe serving delicious food and iced coffee and a gift shop and information center, which is a good place to cool down after walking the trails.

King Park is huge! The botanical garden is organized well, showing the plant life sorted by the different areas of Western Australia. It is amazing that the botanical garden is so big and well maintained. Be aware there is a lot of walking and some steep hills and areas in the park. Be sure to landmark your car or exit though, it easy to lose your bearings.

It’s a well known park with lots of flowers and biodiversity. It’s quite popular with families and couples and felt relatively safe when I went. It was the perfect picnic spot and a great place to watch the sunset. However, this time of year there were a lot of flies and be careful of the magpies and ducks trying to steal food! :D

The Perth Mint, located on Hay Street in Perth, Western Australia, is the oldest working mint in Australia. Established at the end of the 19th century, it offers tours of its vaults and an 1899 melting house. Visitors can witness demonstrations of gold bullion bar production and explore various gold-related exhibits. The facility also features interactive displays showcasing the coin and medallion-making process.
The tour is really cool, filled with lots of interesting tidbits. The highlight of course being the live gold pour! You get to take home a medallion that you can see being minted. David the tour guide was great. The 9.30 am tour size is smaller.

In Fremantle, a visit to Little Creatures Brewery is a must for beer enthusiasts. Housed in a former crocodile farm, this oceanside brewery has been serving up its pioneering Pale Ale since 1997, contributing to the rise of Australian craft beer. While now owned by Lion, the brewery still offers its fruity and hoppy brew alongside an expanded range under the White Rabbit label.
Online reservation for the brewery tour was a breeze! Straightforward and hassle free. Advisable to reach 15 minutes earlier. Daily tour is 11.30am and 3pm. Our guide was the staff named Hiru, amazing and friendly lady! Super detailed on the history and processing of all the different kinds of beer available. Tour includes 10 different types of their beer. 10/10 would recommend!

We visited quite a few breweries around Western Australia and our favourite is the Hazy Lager from Little Creatures. The atmosphere is relaxing. Besides the beers, we also enjoyed the mussels. The portion is decent for two and the taste is amazing.

Came here with my sister. It was super busy. Lots of people but we managed to snag a table upstairs. We didn't tour the brewery only stopped for a glass of vino as Little Creatures was recommended to us. Did not disappoint. Recommended
Marls D — Google review
I visited both Little Creatures Brewery, Fremantle and Gage Roads Freo Brewery. Unfortunately, the day I visited Little Creatures Brewery was overcast and chilly, which made the terrace seating virtually impossible to enjoy. As a result, my overall satisfaction was higher at Gage Roads Freo Brewery, but Little Creatures Brewery, Fremantle is still a thoroughly enjoyable venue. The high-ceilinged pub area, which includes an open kitchen, was a great spot. I enjoyed an excellent tap beer, along with a pizza recommended by the staff, for dinner. They also sell canned beers and merchandise if you are looking for souvenirs. While it took a little while, I was able to order and happily drink a total of three different beers—I chose the smallest size for each. I can only imagine my experience would have been even better on a sunny day, so I felt a bit unlucky with the weather. Nonetheless, this is a brewery well worth visiting.
Yoichi ( — Google review
First time visiting a brewery, it is pretty impressive. If you like to enjoy the view, go up to the second floor. Did the beer tasting tray, i would recommend the bigger tray, it is more worthwhile. Little creatures beer in general is not bad. I just felt the merchandises were too expensive. Even if i wanted to buy as a souvenir, i would think twice.

Used to come here alk the time as a kid with my family! Amazing environment and super kind staff! However i ordered the cheeseburger and it came a little soggy and was super drenched by the time i had taken 2 bites. Other than that the burger tasted great, the pizza was amazing, and the fries were perfect!!

Great spot for dinner and drinks. We went Saturday night and couldn't fault anything. Both our pizzas were delicious, chips were also a must! Beers and drinks were very good (brewed in-house, which is always a bonus). We really enjoyed the music and atmosphere. It did seem like a shorter menu than usual (I believe a few more options would be better). Overall staff were friendly and we will definitely be back!

Would have been 5 stars HOWEVER it was a very rude shock to find that the drinks vending machine that advertised 600ml drinks as being $5 has actually also charged me a $3 service fee PER DRINK. Drinks should be advertised as $8 if it's going to cost me $8. Outrageous vending machine charge aside, we had an absolutely wonderful day at the perth zoo. There is way too much glass/perspex. This stuff is so hard to see and photograph through😭😭. There were a number of animals we were unable to see but that's how zoos are. It's a beautiful zoo to walk around, the grounds are well established, well maintained and absolutely gorgeous. The paths are pretty easy to follow and animal placement makes sense. I love the rainforest - where the deep dark wood is at the moment - so so pretty. My son loved the suspension bridge. He also loved the playground and the gruffalo trail. The new monkey towers/ropes near the main grass area is fantastic and i bet the monkeys love it too. The reptile house is incredible. The nocturnal house however - it was soooo hard to see anything at all. It was just too dark. We've been to a lot, unfortunately perth, yours is a miss - hopefully it's in the pipeline to be updated like your reptile house obviously has been. Lunch was pricey and tbh not fantastic. I don't know why zoos can't make good food!?!?! And $7 for a golden gaytime🤯🤯. But at least there hasn't been a $3 service fee chucked on that one - yet. Every staff member we came in contact with was brilliant. I'm really happy you still give out paper maps too - so so so much easier than telling us to look on our phone, in the sun, when you can't see the screen. Also, kids like having the map. We were at the zoo from 10am-4:30pm. Saw everything but the Australian animals (we went to a wildlife park yesterday so figured we could safely skip that bit to save time) and had a thoroughly wonderful time. That charge has left a sour taste in my mouth though.
Frances — Google review
Kids thoroughly enjoyed it! Solid day out, lots to see and you really never know what's around the corner. Clean and tidy, great facilities! Feeding the animals and talks given by the staff made an interesting, educational trip worth while! Thank you Perth Zoo
John T — Google review
Spent almost a full day there. Kids love it as animals got pretty up close. Actually think it's better than many other zoos as you're literally next to the animal, such as the penguins. Gibbons were the best and highlight of the day, swinging all over the park for our viewing pleasures. There's also a sheltered quiet area for resting while you sit there and watch the Gibbons rest play and do their thing. Toilets were clean and lots of water refill sections. And the massive playground just next to the cafe was a bonus where you could watch the kids while eating.. and lots of birds to chase for kids. Just make sure you don't step on their poop or get chased/swopped by them if you're having food. Love the zoorasic enclosure too, kids can try to paleontologist while parents rest.
Shannon R — Google review
Great well-kept, wide variety of animals, reptiles and birds. Would be amazing if there were more opportunities for interactions like animal feeding. The cafe and play area is always busy. The current dinosaur display is pretty cool!
Daphne — Google review
Perth zoo has Great areas like the cafe and surrounding areas, dinosaurs, reptiles & penguin enclosure. But pretty much every other enclosure was dated, unmaintained, poorly designed for veiwing ( nocturnal house is the worst )the actual animal and hadn't changed since my last visit 11years ago. Other community funded zoos like Rockhampton Qld put it to shame and their free entry! I'll be back a few more times this year to enjoy the zoo and hopefully see some of the animals that were off display or invisible.

Elizabeth Quay is a vibrant waterfront destination located on the edge of the Swan River in Perth. It offers a variety of attractions including shopping, cafes, boat tours, art installations, and museums. The area hosts numerous cultural festivals and events and features stylish bars, children's play areas, and diverse dining options. Visitors can enjoy scenic views of the river throughout the day and into the evening. Elizabeth Quay also serves as a departure point for ferry rides to South Perth and other boat tours.
The Quay provides some of the best photo opportunities in Perth, framing the modern city skyline with water and the symbolic Bell Tower. The atmosphere here is a blend of romance and relaxed leisure. Sunset is gorgeous, in my opinion it’s the best time to visit as the area transforms with illuminated bridges and buildings, excellent for an evening strolls. Not far away is a carousel that is a favourite with children and adds a touch of classic fun to the waterfront.

We had such a lovely time at Elizabeth Quay today. The kids first had fun at the Island Playground, exploring, climbing, and playing to their hearts’ content. After that, they cooled off and splashed around at the Water Playground, which was the perfect way to enjoy the warm day. We then took a nice stroll along the quay, soaking in the beautiful city skyline and peaceful river views. It was such a refreshing outing – full of fun for the kids and relaxation for us.

Elizabeth Quay is a scenic harbourfront with modern office towers, dining spots, and plenty of space for a leisurely walk. From here, you can catch the ferry to South Perth in just 10 minutes, making it a great half-day experience when combined with a riverside stroll or meal. Walking across the Elizabeth Quay Bridge and then hopping on the ferry offers some of the best views of the city and river. The ideal times to visit are early morning before lunch or in the late afternoon towards dinner. Do note the area is open and unsheltered, so it can feel quite hot during the day.

Was disappointed. I went years ago, in the 90s and it was awesome, but today it was like just kindy stuff and a few buttons to push where nothing exciting happened. Miss 7 year old wanted to leave after 10 minutes of trying to find something interesting. The planetarium was ok, but was hoping for something fun and exciting to watch. The solar system theme was interesting but it went on too long and rather repetitive. Sorry.

The planetarium show (only 10 minutes) was absolutely brilliant for all ages, and both our kids learned a lot from this short show, and enjoyed it thoroughly! Activities were broad, and included building cars to race down a ramp, controlling robots, or going in a small wind tunnel! A few options for parking, and recommended to get 2-3+ hours if possible.

My Feelings at Sunday Morning Mass at the Cathedral in Western Australia On Sunday morning, I went to Mass at the big church in Western Australia. The church is very beautiful and quiet. When I walked in, I felt very peaceful. The light came through the windows, and I heard the bell ring. People sat quietly and prayed. The Mass was very special. The priest spoke clearly and slowly. Everyone stood, sat, and knelt at the right time. I liked how people prayed together. The music was very nice. The choir sang very well. Their voices were soft and beautiful. The songs helped me feel close to God. I felt calm and happy. After the Mass, I went home with peace in my heart. I thanked God for this Sunday. It was a good and holy morning.

Looks like a giant metal noodle and feels like a leg workout you didn’t sign up for. Climb to the top and you’ll see trees. Lots of trees. That’s pretty much it. There’s also a water tap on the ground nearby, which feels like a reward for surviving the stairs. 10/10 for cardio, 5/10 for excitement.
Yamuna R — Google review
I enjoyed sunset on the top of the tower and it was absolutely stunning. If you are afraid of height, don't recommend to go up as it gets slightly shaken by wind and other people going up and down, other than that, 100% recommend to experience :)
Jiyoung H — Google review
I think there are 101 steps and the height gives quite an extensive view in most directions. Enjoyed the challenge of the walk up and down and was worth the visit. Beautiful day helped as quite exposed from the open design. Engineering wonderful too.

DNA Tower is one of the well-known landmarks within Kings Park and Botanic Garden. The spiral structure is interesting, and climbing it can be fun. However, the view from the top is rather limited — the city skyline is quite distant, and the opposite side mainly overlooks open fields. In fact, the tower might look more impressive from the outside than from the top. It’s a pleasant stop if you have extra time, but not a must-visit spot. Worth seeing once, as long as you keep your expectations modest.
Yoichi ( — Google review
It’s been a whilst since I have been here and wow didn’t disappoint. Adequate parking and relatively good views. Sadly as time has gone along the trees have grown and blocked some of the views it would be fair to say in 50 years or so there will be no views.
Clinton H — Google review
It’s a great place to explore. I really enjoyed the view from the top—especially the long path stretching out in front of it.
Gonchang B — Google review
A quirky tower in Kings Park. I climbed the 101 stairs (yes I counted) as a personal goal. Great views over the park and city from the top.

History Museums
Located in the Perth Cultural Centre, WA Museum Boola Bardip has recently undergone a four-year renovation, emerging as a captivating space to share Western Australia's diverse stories. The museum features exhibitions on the state's cultural and natural heritage, multicultural population, and interactive technology. With eight permanent galleries showcasing fossils, specimens, historical artifacts, and immersive displays of live music and entertainment history, visitors can explore Western Australia's rich social and cultural history.
I visited about two hours before closing, so it wasn’t crowded and I could enjoy the exhibition at a relaxed pace. The displays were very impressive and made me feel as if I had actually traveled to China. The history was explained in detail through videos and exhibits, which made it very interesting. Many of the displayed items were made of precious metals and still shone beautifully, which was hard to believe considering their age. I’d love to come back next time to see the permanent exhibitions as well.

Took the time to visit Boola Bardip Museum and by chance they had a special exhibit of the Qin terracotta warriors. It was a very well presented exhibit with a very beautiful, very serene visual representation of the proposed afterlife of the emperor. Following that the museum was very informative with the specifics of WA and the geology of the area and the mineral rich land it occupies. If you have the time it is worth a visit.
Joe L — Google review
Went to the terracotta warriors exhibition and it was fabulous. Highly recommend. It is mainly self guided with a small video at the beginning but the entire exhibition was stunning. We also paid extra to have access to entire museum and there was some beautiful exhibits about Australian people and wildlife. The museum was done up recently and it is very beautiful taking parts of old architecture and letting it peak through into the new. Spent $37 dollars each for terracotta and entire museum and spent the entire day there with no restrictions. We paced ourselves and enjoyed each exhibit without any issues. Also easily gotten to from transportation the Perth underground is a 5 minute walk and there is plenty other things to do in the area.
Niamh C — Google review
I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the Terracotta Warriors exhibition at WA Museum was way more impressive than I imagined. Seeing these ancient warriors up close was mind-blowing — the details and history behind them are just incredible. The exhibition is laid out really well, with lots of interesting info and interactive displays that make the whole experience come alive. It’s not too crowded, photos are allowed, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. If you’re in Perth, this is definitely something you shouldn’t miss — I left feeling like I’d just travelled back in time to ancient China!

Great museum with plenty of interactive parts to keep the kids entertained throughout. We were luckily enough to visit when the Teracota Warriers were on display which was amazing to learn about and see. We really enjoyed our visit.

Took the grandchildren to see the Terracotta Warriors exhibition. What a sight to see these 2000 yr. old soldiers and horses plus lots of other artefacts. I recommend going to see it for yourself. I've only included a few photos so as not to spoil it for you. And it was really well run by very helpful staff. Also has a gift shop.

Fremantle Arts Centre, a historic site built by convicts, offers a mix of displays, live music, and amenities like a cafe and gift shop. Duck Duck Bruce is a nearby brunch spot known for its friendly staff and inventive dishes like chilli and coriander scrambled eggs. At the arts centre's store FOUND, visitors can find unique souvenirs created by local artists. The centre also hosts various exhibitions and Sunday Music sessions.
I stopped by the Fremantle Arts Centre briefly, taking a few photos of the beautiful historic building and browsing the gift shop. The architecture has a strong sense of history and character. The shop offers a lovely selection of items that reflect Australian creativity and hints of Aboriginal culture. The courtyard is small but peaceful, with a calm and pleasant atmosphere. Even a short visit is worthwhile for those who appreciate art, heritage, and architecture.

Beautiful building a location, with some beautiful artworks but lacking some information and very small. Nice to visit if you’re in the area but wouldn’t make a special trip for it
Dana — Google review
The buildings are beautiful and very photographic. The building was once an insane asylum with the plaque on the outside near the road which looks like no one goes often. At the time of visit the exhibition was very small and I didn’t appreciate it, but others may. The gift shop had some really cool stuff in it and the staff were really friendly. When chatting to them they were telling us about past events which sounded like fun so the score may reflect on the day we visited. You don’t need my time to visit and it is free to enter.
Casandra T — Google review
It’s a free and fun visit for younger children. A few arts are quite good and creative, but most are just average for our taste. There are definitely good artists out there worth displaying and shared.

A thoroughly enjoyable visit. The Huxleys exhibit was provocative, colourful and engaging. We also enjoyed live music and a stroll around the beautiful grounds. The building itself is worth a visit. Free entry. Friendly staff. What more could you ask for?

Gallery was closed for installations. But the artists' shop was brilliant. Beautiful work! Also the 'Plated' cafe was delightful with the shaded courtyard. We had a wonderful tasty feta, pumpkin and spinach muffin with iced coffee and a chai latte. All were excellent. Despite not seeing into the gallery, the old building and atmosphere was worth a visit.

Wadjemup Lighthouse, a historic stone structure built in the 18th century, offers stunning panoramic views of the sea and city. Visitors can enjoy birdwatching for various species such as wedge-tailed shearwaters, osprey, sacred kingfishers, singing honeyeaters, and sandpipers. Sunset viewing from the lighthouse is a popular activity, as is beachcombing around the island.
What a great view from the top. Sean was a great volunteer guide and the tour was very good - I am not good with heights but glad I made it to the top as the views were spectacular from all directions - probably a must thing to do on the island if you love photography.
Klare T — Google review
I walked all the way to Wadjemup Lighthouse from the port on Rottnest Island. I didn't use a bicycle, only trekking. It takes a bit of time to get here, but the path was pleasant and well-suited for a trek. As a prominent landmark on the island, the lighthouse was a clear goal and destination for my walk. I was quite tired from the walk, so I took a moment to rest on a bench. The cool breeze was very refreshing. Since the lighthouse is located on high ground, you look down towards the port, and the scenery is also excellent.
Yoichi ( — Google review
it was such a tiring ride on bike but deffo worth every sweat! the view was astonishing, please don’t forget to wear your sunscreen and REAPPLY! wear hats and polar sunglasses as well, it was a bit cold and windy when we visited but the UX index was 9 🤣

This is a fantastic structure to visit and especially do the guided tour and climb the stairs case. The Mercury bath alone at the top is worth seeing just to see how the massive lens and apparatus floats to allow it to rotate easily. The view of the entire island can be seen out on the walkway. Well worth the visit, ride your bike up the driveway if you can!!

The lighthouse was a 5 minute walk from the bus stop. Lovely views of the island from the carpark next to the lighthouse. Shame you had to pay $24 for a family to go into the lighthouse.

Beautiful operational lighthouse and well worth doing the free tour with the volunteer guides. We visited in August which is the low season, so very easy and no crowds.

The playground offers various activities like scaling heights, wading in the Paperbark Waterhole, getting caught in a web at The Tangle, and disappearing down The Burrow.
What an awesome spot to go with the kids. Even as an adult it's fun climbing the "jungle gyms" and obstacles. Very clean and full of nature. My kids love going there to let off some steam. Lots of space and not over crowded

It is great to have some water to play with too. Everything is well kept. There are toilets 🚻 but no bins. You also can't have picnics inside. Open 9am-4pm Tuesday to Sunday

Took my 3yrs old grandson here. The Natursecape suited him much more than structured playgrounds. Climbing over boulders and up irregular climbing frames challenged and inspired him. I had to clamber along behind him to ensure his safety but his joy at the adventure made it all worthwhile. It’s a cleverly designed adventure space that has something for all aged kids. It’s well shaded and the running water makes for a calm place to sit and enjoy all the space has to offer.

The City of Perth Library is a popular spot with a convenient location and professional, friendly staff. Visitors can enjoy reliable free WIFI and attend impressive events hosted by the library. The space is beautiful with plenty of natural light and a great selection of books. While not extensive, the ground floor area might become crowded during peak times. The library also offers study rooms for hire, making it a cozy and helpful facility for reading or studying.
I recently visited the City of Perth Library, and it was a fantastic experience! The library is beautifully designed with modern, spacious interiors, making it a wonderful place to spend time. I went there to study and read some books, and it was perfect for that. The atmosphere was quiet and peaceful, exactly what I needed to focus on my work without any distractions. There are plenty of comfortable seating options, from individual desks to cozy reading nooks, so it’s easy to find a spot that suits your preference. The natural light flowing through the large windows creates a calm and inviting environment, making it a relaxing place to spend several hours. The selection of books is impressive, with a wide variety of genres, and the organization of the library makes it easy to find what you’re looking for. In addition to the excellent atmosphere, the staff were friendly, approachable, and always willing to help if I had any questions. It’s clear that the library is well-maintained and cared for. Whether you’re looking for a quiet place to study, read, or simply unwind, the City of Perth Library is an ideal choice. I’ll definitely be visiting again soon!

I have an interview and I dont have a job. Apparently,I have to pay for their meeting rooms just to attend interview and it is quite expensive. While, student's study rooms are free and all of them were empty. But, I dont fit in their age criteria. How this adding value to a local workforce? On top! They dont have free wifi. You have to rely on perth free wifi with just 2gb limit which is normally available for tourists to find maps as 2gb is very less.

great exterior, and amazing interior - i love this library, not just for the books (obviously) but the atmosphere inside. quiet calm and serene, and not as noisy as some other libraries. pretty good collection of books (of the genres i read) are available - and their new books section is very good. love their "book bags", which is a collection of books in a bag you can grab to "surprise" you. and they have a really good collection of graphic novels you can read or flip through to pass the time. friendly and very helpful staff here too. their app though, at first glance, looks "amateurish" - but it's actually pretty good, functionally.

Manning Stairs, a popular tourist spot, offers a delightful destination filled with breathtaking views and ample opportunities for outdoor activities. Found through social media, this place boasts a spiral walkway leading to stunning vistas of the serene lake and surrounding suburbs. Along the stairway are resting benches for visitors' comfort. Besides enjoying the scenery, visitors can engage in bushwalking and hiking adventures nearby.
What a great place to climb up to the panoramic view! Don't miss walking up the limestone path on the other side of it, as you will find another lookout with a sweeping view of the ocean and Fremantle. What a great place for fitness as well. These stairs are a gift to public health. It may seem daunting at first to do a few sets of these finally built stairs, but highly worthwhile to persevere and reap the healthy rewards. Awesome leg workout. Love coming here to do sets of stair climbs to work on health and fitness.
Mike F — Google review
Bloody good trek up the stairs, cool spot if you want to get in a bit of exercise and the views at the top are amazing!
Simon H — Google review
I used to incorporate leg day at Manning Stairs into my training. Don't do it at night as you can't see and fall over. Enjoy and push it hard at your own pace. Great place to train hard.
JA — Google review
There a few benches for rest points along the stairs. Tell us how many stair cases from the bottom start to the highest points. Take care! (2025-10)

Great sunset hiking track with views from the top overlooking the old Fremantle power station and amazing sunsets
Lachlan G — Google review
Great space for a bit of morning exploring. The stairs are a great warm up and the surrounding area has heaps of casual walking routes to explore. The view from the top is nice, looking out to port Coogee and the sea.
Dan G — Google review
Great spot for a late afternoon jog or some early morning fitness routines. The stairs are challenging and serve as a great method of high intensity training. The views up top are stunning - sweeping over Coogee Beach and the Indian Ocean. Watch out for snakes in the summer months.

Amazing natural rock formations and great spot for photography. Cool breeze of wind blowing through you and great view of the crystal clear ocean and skies. Absolutely beautiful days spent there and had great walking in the bush and swimming and snorkeling.

As a part of my Sperm Donation Australia tour, stopped by here in my ride around the island. Got to say this was a beautiful spot and enjoyed checking out the surrounding views.

This beautiful beach is the 1st stop of my cycling trip at Rottnest island. The water was great and I badly wanted to go for a swim. But I didn't go for a swim because I had only one day at Rottnest and so I wanted to explore the whole island.

Snorkelled here to see the shipwreck. The water was abit choppy with lots of seaweed. Visibility was poor but might be just due to time of day. If u have limited time snorkelling, i would head straight to little salmon bay instead.

Fellas make sure to have a visit here and do not forget to bring one or two beer with you since drinking one sitting and enjoying the outstanding view is really something! Lol I and my friend did't expect to spend like more than an hour here. We did a day trip only, booked a charter boat to go over also hired bikes to ride around the island, the bikes were bought over from the mainland on the boat all done through the charter company, electric bikes would have been the go, there are also places to park your bikes when you are at the shops/Cafe

ANZAC Cottage, nestled in the heart of Mount Hawthorn on Whadjuk Nyoongar Country, is a poignant tribute to the sacrifices made during World War I. Constructed by the local community in just one day back in February 1916, this charming cottage was built as a home for Private Cuthbert John Porter and his family while also serving as a memorial for those who lost their lives at Gallipoli.
I felt connected to this cottage because my great grandfather helped build it. Full of history of WW1 and Private John Porter and his family who lived there. Saved from demolition by the Vietnam Vets and now owned by National trust. Worth a visit
Judi D — Google review
What an amazing little gem hidden away in Mt Hawthorn. This little cottage is filled with history, intrigue, and just a bloody good story. Love it!
Steve D — Google review
Really special to be able to visit this place! Make sure you do you research to find out what days they are open, as the Cottage only opens to public a few times a year. We happened to drive past on Purple Poppy Day and attended a touching ceremony honoring the animals that have served in wars past and present.

Informative tour by Ann descendant of Private Porter the first occupant. Of special interest to our group as our great- grandfather and great-grandmother were there providing their services on the day it was built in 35-degree heat.

Beach
Bathers Beach is a 984-foot sandy Indian Ocean beach nestled in a bay, offering calm waters and stunning sunset views from its restaurant. Situated within the historic Arthur Head Reserve, it's surrounded by attractions like the Round House, Kidogo Art House, and Manjaree Trail. This inner-city beach is a favorite spot for locals and tourists alike due to its proximity to dining options and nearby landmarks such as Fishing Boat Harbour and the Maritime Museum.
Easily accessible from the city 🌆 with several eateries and amenities nearby.. Bathers Beach is truly an attractive option if you can only visit one beach during your holiday 🏖️ there’s enough space for plenty of people and kids will love the feeling of freedom the sea and sand brings, which finally means some much needed me-time for yourselves 😂 sunset was gorgeous too ❤️
Marklin H — Google review
Nice beach and conveniently located for sunset or afternoon sun, but not a very spacious beach front during high tourism and had a fair amount of washed up seaweed which always smells a bit potent. Nevertheless, it’s a nice easy walk from the main section of Fremantle or the train station, so it’s definitely worth a visit if you’re already checking out the Round House and other museums near by.
Joel G — Google review
Easy to access with toilets, restaurants and other amenities close by. When we visited in April there was an amazing selection of art and sculptures on the beach.
Sasha H — Google review
Easy to access if u are in Fremantle cbd but it's very small beach. Perfect spot to take pictures but not for relax because it's crowded
Lauta E — Google review
Nice, simple and close to the city. You can relax during the week but it’s a little busy during the weekends. Great sunset views!!!
Carola G — Google review
Really nice spot to chill out by the water. The beach is clean, the water’s clear, and it’s a great place to watch the sunset. There are some good places to eat nearby too. It does get a bit busy on weekends, but still a great place to hang out.

Yarra Vista Park comes highly recommended due to its spacious grounds and amenities. The park features a large grass area suitable for walking dogs on a leash, as well as two enclosures where dogs can be let off-leash to play. This is especially beneficial for less friendly dogs. The park offers a variety of plantings and pastures that emit pleasant smells, which both humans and dogs enjoy. Additionally, there is a playground for children and a shed equipped with tables and chairs.
Highly recommended the park. It os spacious. There was a large grass area where you can walk your beloved furry babies on leadlsh. There are also 2 ( as far as i could see) enclosure where you can let your doggo off leash and play. This is a great opportunity for those whose dogs are not quite friendly. I am uncertain whag sorts of plantation/pasture around that area but it smells different. My doggo loves it :) Moreover, there is a playground for kids. A shed with table and chairs. Basically, a perfect place for everyone:) A reminder though, i was bitten by a mosquito. So be prepared if you wish to go there. Also be sure your doggie is up-to-date with his/her vaccination, flee treatment ,canine couch treatment, etc.
Natcharee S — Google review
It's got the potential to be a pretty awesome park, but it is pretty abysmally taken care of by the council. There's trees everywhere, which is awesome, and one of the few redeeming factors. Real shadey, and stays relatively cool. It's just a sand pit in the dog area though. Ironically, there's plenty of grass everywhere outside, so the whole 'on leash' area is where 80% or people go. Which is pretty understandable, given the actual area they're meant to be is a dust bowl. So much of a dust bowl, there's an entire tree that's collapsed and been sitting there for almost a month, a bunch of grass trees that are literally crumbling apart from there being no moisture, and actual paved brick work and tree roots beginning to show through everywhere with all the sand that's getting blown away in the breeze. And a multimillion dollar dust bowl across the road now, thanks to the golf course that used to be there being sold for property development naturally (apparently there's a "lovely green space" close by, it's on the brochure don't ya know). Genuinely dodgy park. Wouldn't visit until either the council actually puts some effort in, you're able to deal with dirty sand in everything, or you're not concerned about getting done in by a tree at some point in your life. Otherwise, yeah. There's a playground I guess.
Matt W — Google review
Loved the park. Two separate areas allowed me to let the dogs run around, dragging their leashes. Lots of good sniffy places. My main objection is that there is not enough signage for the entry. I missed the turnoff and ended up driving for what seemed like miles as there was nowhere to turn around. Finally got to a roundabout where I then had to drive again for miles to turn into the carpark. Could be better.
Jo C — Google review
Great place among the gum trees for taking your dog for some recreation. There are enclosed areas with double gates for them to be off leash.
Paul D — Google review
It was our first introduction to a dog park for our puppy. We met some nice doggies. Equipment was nice too. It was quite dirty, bits and pieces of rubbish. I liked the devision of small dog park and big dog park.
Wunna Z — Google review
good dog park. secure. shaded so is cool. a few agility obstacles. no grass as natural bush setting. lots to sniff and explore
Leicia T — Google review
Epic little park in th middle of our suburb, love the nature play, especially the challenging rocks and logs etc. plus some cool levels. Our daughter will love this for years to come.
Zach C — Google review
The first enclosure on your left is for small dogs, the second on the right for all dogs. Its a good place to take your dog to mix with others, but it would be better with more grass and more than one drinking bowl per enclosure. That's why it's only a 4/5.

McFaull Park Disc Golf Park is a fantastic outdoor location that offers a challenging 9 basket disc golf course. The course features clever and appealing designs, with particular highlights being holes 4, 5, and 7. While there are a few out-of-bounds areas to navigate, overall the course is excellent. It's advisable to write your name and contact number on your disc for convenience.
Beautiful and well-maintained park with plenty of open space, walking trails, and relaxing spots to unwind. Perfect for families, picnics, or just enjoying nature. Highly recommend for a peaceful day out!

Great place for dogs 'Off the leash Park'. Don't forget to go to the toilet before you leave home. Another great family venue with no public toilets. It is such a shame. It's so nice you could spend a whole day there with all your family (dog/s included)🐕. Have a go at Frisbee ⛳️ golf, take turns on the flying fox there are two one is a hanging disk and the a chair perfect for all chilren who need support. There's a play area that is fenced in, also sand based area with a wooden climbing, l think it's a fort? I'm told during the week between 5pm-6pm it's like parents and puppy dog time. It's a great social interaction time for our four legged family members and their parents. This is not a planned thing.... it's, just an accidental happening when like minded people are in proximity of each other. Sounds great I'll have to check it out. My little dog needs a bit of socialising.
Norma C — Google review
Ok park for easy walk. Wheelchair accessible and plenty of seating and bbq. Very dog friendly. Shame about the cars parking right next to the walking paths and not on the car park. I don't understand why folk go to a park and don't want to walk a few metres.
Tess G — Google review
Great family park with a BBQ area , enclosed playground for the little ones, open space to run , and a flying fox for the big and little ones. Only thing missing is a toilet block.
Janet ( — Google review
Awesome park for events thanks to city of Cockburn for hosting the fur run for dogs .
John F — Google review
Great outdoor place. Bbq , play grounds, basketball hoop, and lots of green.
Ahmed N — Google review
To be aware of is that there is no toilet block here.. I don't mind that though. Great place to walk the dog. Circuit to work on on - lead walking, lovely shade, playgrounds and expanses of grass for off lead too. The all important poop bin and bags is conveniently by the carpark. There's an always clean looking bbq that I've never seen anyone using but do tend to go early or around dusk. Also a picnic table x 1 and benches dotted around...I believe playground facilities are to be added to soon as well although I think they're pretty good now!
Susanne — Google review
Nice park with two lovely playground, one fenced for smaller children. The longest double flying fox around! Several fenced off nature reserves. Lots of dogs. No public toilets, so make sure your kids go, before you take them there.....
