The 13 best cheap eats in Mashhad

Quite underwhelmed, it’s touted as the best restaurant in Mashhad but falls short on the atmosphere and average food. The Barg was very tough and chewy, not soft like how they do it in England. The Joojeh chicken was delicious which was my favourite meal and happened to be the cheapest. The fried meat was enjoyable albeit greasy. Chelow kebab was decent but wouldn’t order it again. Better options in Shandiz.

Food is great here but a bit heavy on price. Ambiance is good. We ordered Mutton Kabab and another mutton dish i don't know the name exactly with plain white rice. Kababs were awesome and mutton piece was good too. The fibres were great on Mutton Piece.

The Best restaurant in Iran without any doubt. I have been to this restaurant more than hundred times over the past 30 years and the quality of the food is the same as the first day, and they stil give you the best food with very high quality of the meat with the very special way too cook in the country, how is it possible? They have also very special meat Gravy just try it. This kind of recipes and brands are some kind of heritage.

The food was great. The staff were so polite and helpful. They offered us an extra free of charge meat soup for adding to our meal, it was excellent. The workers were always ready to bring you anything you needed. It was a great experience in MASHHAD

Really like rack of lamp, but the atmosphere isn't that great!

A very tasty food. Rightfully famous for "gardan" (lamb neck) and muscle. They serve from 12:00-15:00 and they usually run out of muscle very soon (it's very popular) Ask for "ab piaz" with your food. it's the juice the muscle is cooked in and very delicious to pour over your rice.

The lamb shank is 🔥 The lamb chops are excellent Well maintained and organized. Be there before 1:30 or no lamb shank 🍖

I liked this restaurant. It was tasty and hygienic. What I didn't like is that they don't serve oriental yoghurt drink just the cheap ones you can get. Also the prices are not matching the meals. They were tasty but not that tasty actually to cost you that much.

Good food but not excellent. Nice traditional decoration. Very crowdy and sometimes you have to wait outside about half an hour.

That was like the worst option for anyone that has any kind of allergy or special taste of picking food ! If you go there you have a very very limited selection, the menu contain 10-12 items of pure meat and thats it !

we gave been a faithful costumer of Moein Darbari for decades. but today, they failed big. we ordered kabab loghmeh, kabab barg and jujeh kabab. All three were big disappointment. Thee food was dry and tasteless, simply Blane. I have to say they lost my business moving forward.

Moein Darbari restaurant has been one of the most well-known restaurants in my hometown, Mashhad. You can find absolutely mouth-watering meals like kebab in this wonderful restaurant. From my point of view, the cost of all of its food is really reasonable and I extremely recommend it to anybody.

The hotel and the staff were nice and professional. People at the reception do speak English. Their WiFi is good. The swimming pool, spa, jacuzzi are outdated. Their cafe and restaurants are decent. Overall it's nowhere near a 5star hotel but a solid 3 star hotel. I can see that it could've been a 5 star in its prime. But now the interior of the rooms getting old

The best hotel ever, i have ever been In Iran, i came from london with my family and i am fully surprised from the moment we arrived we were wellcomed with a complimentary drinks and they took our log gages in to our room and room was spot on restaurant foods is perfect breakfast is delicious I don’t know how to express my feelings. More like 3 star hotel(compare to Dubai). They need to hire some professional people. Their girls in the costumer service is very unprofessional. Rooms are out dated. They have problem with communication they don’t pass the message to their lower staff properly. Their breakfast was ok!

The Hotel is not even 2 stars. The staff are rude and not helpful. Giving wrong information to book the hotel room and then ignoring the guests when it’s time to help them. They told me they had transportation but once I got there they didn’t have it. The breakfast was rotten and expired. For the transportation they said it will be free from hotel to airport and later denied, suggested me to use the hotel taxi and gave me the price and I agreed, after arriving to the airport the taxi driver told me more then the price I was told at the hotel and the driver was not respectful to me.

While this hotel had a promising start, my recent visit left me feeling like I was staying in a three-star establishment. The lobby, grand and spacious with its high ceiling, impresses at first glance. However, the rooms are cramped and show their age, desperately in need of refurbishment to match the standards expected of a five-star experience for travelers. Moreover, the rooms were incredibly noisy, allowing sounds from other rooms to permeate easily. The plumbing noises, including when someone flushed a toilet in adjacent rooms, were clearly audible. Additionally, conversations and activities in the hallway were disturbingly audible from within the rooms. Adding to the disappointment, the hotel's policy of not providing rooms before 2 PM can be inconvenient for guests arriving in the morning, adding a level of discomfort to the stay. Furthermore, the room service operates at a sluggish pace, often requiring multiple calls before fulfilling requests. These factors, alongside the cramped and aging rooms, contribute to an overall subpar experience for guests expecting efficient service and comfort during their stay. On a brighter note, the breakfast offered a delightful variety and a captivating city view, an experience I highly recommend to anyone visiting Mashhad. It's worth noting that while the location may appear close to the shrine on the map, it's actually quite a distance away. Expect a considerable 20-minute walk to reach one of the farther courtyards of the shrine, making the journey both within and outside the shrine a lengthy affair to access the hotel.

We stayed at this hotel for five days. We were satisfied with the hospitality and services of the hotel. We are grateful for the polite and kind behavior of Ali Kalali and also the hotel's internal manager (we do not know his name).

Prepare to wait for 15-20 to get on elevator and prepare to get stuck in there too for 30 min until someone shows up. Then prepare to wait for elevator again because there are no stairs. There’s not enough parking spots in the garage.

Honestly speaking, NOT WORTH IT AT ALL, save your money and effort if you are planning to have a good meal. The salad buffet is ok but the deserts and the main course is just tasteless and overpriced. I have order boneless chicken and asked the waitress to be over cooked, unfortunately it was really disappointed for me . Any way not thinking of going there any more .

The food was good and the service was good as well. However the table orientation and atmosphere was of a typical theme and was not really expressive do the food. For four main dishes, 4 cokes and 1 bottle of water it costed around 2.25 Millions which is nearly 55-60 Usd.

Believe me or not but i found a worm in rice!!! Before it i found a piece of steel wool in soup!!! Could you believe it?! It is the most well-known restaurant in ahmad abad with very polite staff, and delicious foods but this time it really disappointed me, i also left a complain on #1490, hope they follow this issue.

We arrived at the restaurant around 12 p.m. as I had a flight The food was not ready and they politely apologized I asked for anything that they would offer , trying to see if they had kept anything from night before, and they said food will be ready in 30 minutes. A very luxurious restaurant with delicious Iranian foods made by high quality ingredients. Recently, they changed their decoration and the new one is very beautiful with a positive atmosphere. About the food, usually a plate is enough for two person, especially if you order the hors d'oeuvres. I think Jujeh Kebab is the best food of this place and recommend it 100 percent, but always remember that it's an expensive place.

The food is very good. We had kabab barg, kabab loqme and extra saffron-tahdig, sides were yogurt which was full of fat, olive pickle (with pomegranate juice and walnuts) which was fantastic, fresh with big walnut particles and salad was an ordinary one with lettuc, cherry tomato, cucumbers and carrots. This restaurant is famous for its large-sized meals. Any dish is enough for 2 people with mid-range appetite. Also kabab barg here is very famous, this time our kabab barg was not very juicy but Kabab loqmeh was very good. Restaurants design and furniture is very good as well. One downside for this restaurant is the big hijab rule announcement at the entrance which they should remove ASAP and we reminded them of that. And that is why I gave 2 stars for the atmosphere.

I had lunch at this restaurant for the first time a few years ago, but unfortunately I didn't enjoy the atmosphere and quality of the food because I was in a hurry. The quality and size of the food was acceptable, the restaurant was a little crowded at the time that I was there and it gave me a sense of disorganization or chaos.

Superb interior !! But the food was ok ok .... might be the dish that I had was not to my liking . I had khorak e goosht.... it was a lamb shoulder cooked in its own juice ( it’s a speciality of this city ) , the best u shall get only at : Pesarane Karim “ they are the legends in it . Anyways ..... the service was ok .. got to see that the other tables had ordered lamb shanks and filet mignonette ( kabab barg) .. they had these kababs in these massive skewers .... wow ... it’s looked Awsome ... God knows how the taste was ..... so my take .... try it out once .... but there are better options too .... bon appetite !!!

I am very disappointed with this place. Their food used to be my favourtie and the atmosphere was and still is spotless. However, this time when we went to the restaurant they refused to let us set on the tables, although there were customers who came after us and had a seat! Also, when we tried to make a reservation for next time so that this doesn't happen again, they told us that they only have a reservation after a week! Which makes zero sense since the tables are almost empty and we had to go to the restaurant one day before the reservation day to confirm our booking (even five stars hotels in Mashhad don't request this!). It is crystal clear that they did not want us there because we're Arab, since all Iranians were welcomed with open arms. I'm giving it one star for the atmosphere only, because when we took the food for take away it was cold and of low quality, not as before

The environment of the restaurant is very beautiful, cozy and luxury and therefore their prices are very expensive. But when it comes to their food, it's not good at all. With such prices, one can expect a much better quality. I ordered a beef stroganoff, but you could barely see any meet, but there was too much cream in it and I didn't finish the mill. However, the french fries was very delicious and I loved it very much.

It is a nostalgic place for many Mashhadies! But it is not very clean! Food is not excelent! Crews are not smart and you should repeat your request at least 2 or 3 times. I prefer not to pay there no more time!

We stayed at Almas 2 Hotel for three nights, and overall, it did not meet our expectations. The rooms were very small with tiny windows, which made the space feel cramped. The air conditioning system was malfunctioning; no matter how we adjusted it, the temperature would rise to 30°C, leaving the room unbearably warm and dry. Waking up in the morning, we all had dry eyes, noses, and mouths due to the poor air quality. The TV was an outdated, small monitor, not up to the standard of a four-star hotel. On the positive side, the restaurant had a nice view, and while the food quality was average, the atmosphere was pleasant. The room was ready on time when we arrived, which was convenient. Additionally, the airport shuttle service was reliable. However, the staff in the market section were unprofessional and rude. For a four-star hotel, I expected much better facilities and service.

The beds are almost old, they need to be changed. no foot towel was available, although it is a 5 star hotel. The breakfast was really good but the dishes need to be changed, they are really old. the shower needs to be separated by a glass or cabin, but there is only a curtain that makes the Hamam truly small. you need to take a taxi if you have an elderly with you. Totally we will not be back.

The reception staff was rude and unprofessional. They charge you for professional service. However, the service which we got was before criticism. We will never try this so-called Hotet. To be honest, their behaviour gave me the feeling of a war prisoner rather than a respected hotel guest. Their TV set was making noises during the night, and their solution was that unplugging it. They are super stingy, especially when it comes to drinking water. Their breakfast menu was so limited. One hour before the ending time of breakfast, nothing was reloaded, especially breada. I gave the hotel manager to explain their staff behaviour, but he did not use this opportunity. We will never waste our money in this hotel again.

I tried their chicken strips sandwich which I think was delicious, not great but good enough. A great fast food restaurant in Mashhad with indoor and outdoor saloon. We had both pizza and sandwich I had a tasty charcoal burger , but they didn't have variety of drinks.
