⸻ Horrible service. We called ahead and were told it was fully booked. When we arrived, the terrace was full, but the main hall had several free tables. We sat there, but the live music was unbearably loud. We asked several times to change tables, but the staff were unhelpful. As the terrace remained full and the noise indoors was excessive, we were about to leave when we noticed another dining room—quiet and with plenty of free tables—so we moved there, asking to be notified if a terrace table became available. Service remained poor throughout dinner. I am vegetarian and ordered a cheese plate, but was brought a chicken plate instead, with the explanation that they had run out of cheese. We sent it back, and minutes later they managed to serve the cheese plate after all—unacceptable. During the meal, we saw free terrace tables through the window, yet no one informed us or offered to move us, despite our earlier requests. After dinner, we asked to have our beers outside, but were told again that all tables were taken. I went out to speak directly with the terrace manager, who happily offered us a table—contradicting what the indoor staff had just said. In summary, the service consisted of young, inexperienced, and poorly trained staff, resulting in an uncomfortable and frustrating experience.

Was recommended in some travel guides so we decided to check it out. The welcome was very nice. They said they are booked out but we got accommodated with a time limit of one hour which we apreciated. After that all went a bit downhill. The service was actually really rude and bad. All questions were answered in an annoyed rude tone and all food got delivered cold… We understand that service industry is a challenging job and everybody can have a bad day but its the same amout of effort to be nice/neutral than absolutely rude. The prices were ok and the menu is huge. Also of course the taste was fine but far from wow factor. We let the manager know at the end and she recieved the feedback in a very open way and said they will work on it. I apreciate that. Would I recommend this place to go again ? No not really

Came here for dinner since we stayed across the street. The drinks were good, caprese salad appetizer was delicious, so I figured the filet mignon I ordered would follow suit. This is essentially what they dropped in front of me. From my steak knowledge, that cut is not filet mignon. That’s most likely eye of round. It also was cooked medium well, or even well done. So I poured all the sauce on it to help the dryness which it didn’t. I wanted to push through and eat it but because it was so dry and overcooked, I could not. I asked the waiter about the cooked level and he said that “all of their meats are cooked medium well” so in that case I said okay I’ll just eat it. Not sure if I’d go back knowing their meats are cooked medium well. My partners meal was good though so maybe just avoid the steaks if you come here.

Good ambience and location. However disappointed. We ordered for baked beetroot salad. It was cold, few pieces of boiled beets, NOT baked and mostly arugula leaves, feta cheese cubes. The pepper from the pepper shaker was over. I had checked and the server didn't like me asking for it. Lastly, my friend had asked for a fish dish. And I had asked for grilled vegetables which was written separately on the menu as a side dish. They brought the fish with grilled vegetables. The server said, the chef had mixed the 2 dishes. Saving grace was the delicious mashed potato. Most important point is, the reviews on the menu say that it is vegan and vegetarian friendly. However it is NOT so. There are NO vegetarian options in the main course.

My experience at Platan was a bit mixed.While the food was definitely good—I particularly enjoyed the warm salad Platan, which was delicious—and the general design of the restaurant is very comfortable, it didn't quite meet my expectations for an authentic experience. I would recommend this place if you're looking for a pleasant meal in a nice setting. However, for those specifically seeking a deeply authentic cultural or culinary experience, you might find it a bit more adapted to a general taste. A solid choice, but with a note on authenticity.

The location is very good in a quite neighborhood and was in a walkable distance from our hotel. The food was super tasty, the service was moderate as only one waiter could speak little English. The atmosphere was nice and the restaurant is clean. Prices might be a little higher than what you expect in Samarkand but the quality of the food and the cleanliness deserves it (in our opinion).

We had lunch at their restaurant. Plus interiors and outdoor sitting Is good as well. Spread is good with some local and European food. Ensure you have an ample time and most dishes take 20-50 min to serve. Shank and wings is must try!!!

I visited for lunch. First, I was overwhelmed by the truly splendid interior. The high ceilings create a sense of openness. The delicious Uzbek cuisine was a real treat. The staff service is also attentive. There are private rooms along the walls and terrace seating outside, making it suitable for various occasions. Next time, I'd like to try the terrace seating. Highly recommended.

The dishes we tried at the start were tasty, and the variety seemed promising. However, the experience went downhill after the first two courses—a salad and a mini stew. Our main meat dishes never arrived, and we ended up waiting for an hour. During that time, I asked three different staff members: one told me it would come in five minutes, another said they would check, and the third simply said “no English.” Eventually, we discovered that our order had been completely mishandled: wrong items, missing dishes, food meant for us served to other tables without any attempt to correct it. The staff’s behavior was so disappointing: unprofessional, Lying, evasive, pretending they understand English, covering for each other, showing no sense of responsibility. What a shame.

Sept 2025 Popular restaurants with local and tourist. Though for the local, it's a place where they come for birthday or major celebrations (there were 3 birthdays songs sung when we dine there for dinner). To go to dishes are the meats and the BBQ skewers! Uzbek meat are so fresh and goes straight from farm to table (no freezing hence they preserve the taste of the meat). For a Tuesday night, place was packed! Reservations are highly recommended.

Came here because of Google but we did not regret as this restaurant seems to be an institution in Samarkand among both locals and tourists. The restaurant is huge, two enormous halls for dining as well as outdoor garden space. We were sat inside and within minutes people were on the dance floor mid-way through their lunch: it was very wholesome. We ordered a lot of food and the menu is huge also. My favourite was the Alibaba puff pastry which is almost like a British pie with a stew inside which was delicious. They have all types of food from local dishes to international ones. Now the only negative is that we waited a solid 45min for food to be cooked so be prepared to wait. They accept credit cards which is good.

We walked in to this luxurious & beautiful Restaurant for lunch. The hostess led us to the centre of the dining hall near the Kitchen. First glance, the interior architecture is really impressive, looks like a ballroom. However, my sense of normalcy eventually changed a little, the interior decorations seems too much.(in my thought, its noisy). I feel its “beautiful to the point of ugliness”!!! The waiter who takes our order speak little English. The Menu is Russian or English on Scan Code Mode. Food choices in the menu are a wide variety of traditional central Asian dishes. There is a Menu Booklet in Russian, unless you asked for English version, only then they deliver it to you !! Prices seem reasonable ! Waited half hour, food arrived, it was very good. But the services are a let down, the staff are not attentive, basically we need to look around for them to inquire when is our food coming.!!! Last but not least, with the poor services, unattentive staff and slow food served moreover some food that we ordered differed from the Menu pictures, it is a very very unpleasant dining experience at the Samarqand Restaurant!!!!

BEST restaurant in Samarkand!! we are SO impressed by this restaurant. from the food to atmosphere to service it is all GREAT. our hotel recommended it the first day we arrived and we’ve been back everyday for three days in a row. we tried going to a better rated restaurant last night but we were so disappointed, we left and promptly came here to get a proper better meal. highlights: Fatir/patir (the flaky buttery bread. omg please get this. it’s soooo good) Manti (so juicy) any of the kebabs - they are all so good. we really liked the napoleon. eggplant salad and eggplant fries. seriously this is a restaurant to NOT MISS.

Went to this place twice during my stay in Samarkand, I liked the outdoor atmosphere more. There are various vegetarian options in the menu, and that is what I liked here. Would recommend.

The place is beautiful but very loud and crowded. I had to wait up to 45 minutes to get my food due to the busyness. The taste wasn’t that great—I didn’t fully enjoy the meal. It was okay but not exceptional. However, the fruit served at the end was pleasant. The staff were good.

We dined here twice during our visit to Samarqand. Our first visit was absolutely amazing. The young lad who waited on us was very attentive, very polite and very professional. Our second visit, we had a different young lad, who seemed a little nervous. He was also quite dour. Quite a harsh criticism - he may well have been new to the job and still learning. Have to say though, on both occasions the food was absolutely delicious, the atmosphere within the restaurant was very pleasant, and the lad who served us the first night acknowledged us on our second visit. That was a nice touch.

Highly recommend to tourists to try this restaurant.. nice food and also a wonderful service. I tried their kebab and it was yummy and delicious.

It's really a very nice restaurant in Samarkand where you can find refined local food and a wide variety for vegan people! There are meals on the physical menu that doesn't exist in the application QR... so pay attention.

Very delicious! The menu offers an extensive range of choices. The salad was unique and tasty. The kebab was tender and generously portioned. The somsa was better than those from other places.

Great environment with grand dining hall to cater for all functions. The food is big portion. The grilled chicken is juice and tendon inside. The fruit tea is refreshing. Please do not let the photographer take your picture or else you will need to buy it. It’s a bit cumbersome as we are travelling around.

The Samarkand pilaf here was unique compared to the others I had in Uzbekistan. It has lots of vegetables and less meat. The local wine was good. It is cash only, or was the night I was there.

Lovely family run restaurant, cosy. Lovely soups, beetroot salad & wine. The meat kebab was 'OK', the other dishes were a highlight.

The best food we had in Samarkand, very kind people, reasonable prices and beautiful place. Many vegan and vegetarian options!!! We had the vegetarian plov, the local dumplings, a traditional juice and two amazing desserts.

The food was great, shoutout to the plov as it’s the best I had in my trip. Felt its a lil pricier side compared to all the other food destinations I visited in Uzbekistan.

This is a great place to stop by during your visit in Samarkand!!! Exceptional service, very good food with so many options (they are considering if you are vegetarian too :)) great choice of coffees and teas!!! Internet and suitable tables if you need to work a little bit. Another room with cute tables for family gatherings. The service is very good. That's not the problem. My Dutch stomach was really bad the days after I had a pizza here and it didn't taste like a real pizza. The pasta pesto had no taste of pesto and instead was just very cheesy. The fresh juice and milkshake were great though.

Very conveniently located and well lit place that’s popular with both locals and tourists. Prices are reasonable for such a location. Love the fast service. But here are the reasons for 4 stars and not 5: - the curry chicken is quite tasty but it tastes nothing like good Indian curry! No hint of onions, turmeric or chilli or spices. It tastes more like carbonara sauce, tbh. - the lagman was very ordinary, the noodles were limp and over cooked, cannot compare with the blue blooded lagman shops in Tashkent. The soup was passable, quite delicious and definitely worth an order if you are going for soup and not noodles. Btw, the coffee americano is robust and full of body and kick and worth a try. Apologies for the very honest critique since I come from a country that makes world class curries and noodles. Still, I applaud the effort to be very inclusive in your menu! Kudos! 👍

The extra star is for the wait staff and the vegetarian food options. My wife is a vegetarian and we were having a hard time finding vegetarian option in our trip. But the food here mainly the pizza and the lentil soup were both hot and nourishing A welcome change from the grilled vegetables and rice options. And the staff is super friendly and very very attentive. They welcomed us late into the night with a smile and served us enthusiastically Cafe food so keep expectations accordingly. Also the tea menu is extensive and great on rainy days. Went there twice for lunch and dinner

Update: The food poisoning persisted for 2 weeks, worsening every day. I have seen 4 hospitals from the inside and was urged to be hospitalized for four days. Pretty potent eggplant salad 👍🏼 Kind people that work there and nice atmosphere, but I spent the next 48hrs on the toilet in agony after their eggplant salad. I didn't eat anything else that day but some plain crackers. I've been fulltime traveling for 11 years eating streetfood daily, so I'm pretty resilient, but this my body couldn't handle. Not how I envisioned to spend my time in Samarkand.

Nice local eatery whereby most of the dimmers are the locals themselves. You know it's OK then. Did a quick dinner routine since I have just arrived in Samarkand and this place just provided the right respite from the long road journey from Bukhara. The lagmen soup was brilliant. Good flavours with heaps of vegs and meat. ! Just the type of comfort food I'd expected.

Great place to grab a quick bite to eat. The prices are low. The menu is comprehensive and the people running the service (mostly students) speak English.

I took Cappucino, scallion pancakes, Carrot Salad and a Cheesecake. Was nice, pretty tasty, but nothing to write Home about. The waiters seemed to be wishing to be someplace else - it is clear that they do not enjoy working there. I mostly enjoyed the fact, that there are clearly specified Vegetarian options, as well as that the staff speaks English. All in all, a fine experience, but it's unlikely I'll visit there again.

In the shadow of Bibi-Khanym you’ll find this little gem. The stuffed cabbage is off the charts delicious, as are the “ravioli”. There must be some kind of sorcery that goes into the broths made as, no matter how full you get, they just taste like more. The service was great and the ambiance is perfect, especially if the weather allows for sitting outside. Highly recommended.

Stopped in for lunch after our city tour. Took a confusing while to get a table but we got one outside. We ordered Schi, Lentil soup and grechka. We both thought that the Schi was fantastic. Benefits disabled children in Uzbekistan. Credit cards not accepted

Amazing restaurant - great food, wonderful staff and beautiful location. Being vegetarian, I was a little worried about eating here after looking at a previous review but it's been hard to find veggie food in Samarkand so we thought we would have a look. There is a separate vegetarian menu with a number of options. Staff spoke good English and put us at ease when ordering. Food was really good and it was great sitting outdoors in a quiet, green space with a view of the mosque. We only paid 99,000 som, including 10% service, for 3 dishes and two drinks. A steal at that price. Can't recommend highly enough.

Service was atrocious it felt like we were a pain and that we were a burden. We were brought a broken glass. Then, when we asked for apple juice, they brought some random juice and said they had no apple left. That is fine, but do not bring some random juice, ask first if it is okey (allergies and whatnot). The food when it finally arrived was okey but nothing special.

We ordered Iced Coffee but served with instant coffee with little ice and less coffee 🥴. I politely requested the staff to replace mine with hot cappucino instead, and I thought they agreed coz I even use google translator and use the word replace and politely explained that O'm not happy because they served us instant coffee. But I was charged double plus 10% service charge. Sorry, not recommended if you wish to have coffee in this resto.

This restaurant boasts an incredible three-story layout with a terrace offering stunning views of Registan Square—a truly unmatched setting. While the service is acceptable, be prepared for a long wait; some dishes, like their delicious Samarkand pilaf, can take up to 50 minutes to arrive. The fantastic live music creates a lively atmosphere, but it feels incomplete without a dance floor for guests to enjoy. Go for the view and the pilaf, but bring your patience

We drove past this restaurant and was immediately attracted to it. Great atmosphere and constantly packed! Food was a bit hit and missed. The chicken wings and crispy eggplant were delicious, lagman was ok but steak was a fail (came well done even though we ordered medium rare). Service throughout the dinner was good and waitress that attended to us checked in on us a few times. However, the letdown was that one of our orders did not arrive despite waiting for almost 2 hours and asking about our orders multiple times. Note that whilst waiting, the other guests that came later than us all had their orders fulfilled. As such, we asked for a goodwill discount but instead, was faced with an argumentative male waiter who tried to argue that we have not waited for 2 hours (we were 5mins short of 2 hours) and also questioned us at what time were we told the salmon cutlet we ordered would not be coming. We also feedback that the steak was not done properly and the response was that the restaurant did not do medium rare steak (although that was clearly printed in the receipt as shown in the photo). If they indeed do not do medium rare steak, why ask us how we would like the steak done?? Anyway, in the end, they did give a 20% discount but the conversation at the end of the meal spoilt the whole experience for us. One suggestion for the restaurant is perhaps to increase the number of serving staff on Fridays and weekends as they were obviously overwhelmed and struggling to attend to every table in a timely fashion. We also saw a lot of frustrated customers waiting in line for their tables or had their reservations missing.

After a full day exploring Samarkand we were hungry and finally ready to try the famous Plov—locally known as Osh. By chance we found Emirhan Restaurant and were pleasantly surprised by its beautiful terrace with a view of parts of the Registan Square. It’s definitely a tourist-oriented place but the view is stunning and probably the strongest feature of this well-run and organized restaurant. We ordered Plov and Chuchvara. The Chuchvara was flavorful and nicely prepared. The Plov was tasty—Samarkand-style, with the rice layered rather than mixed, and tender pieces of meat on top. A special thank-you goes to our waiter Boxa for his excellent and attentive service.

We had a dinner at this restaurant and came back for lunch next day. The food was delicious and our servers Diyor and Shahnoza made our experience really exceptional. I have notified them that we were going to a concert and were tight on time and the servers were very attentive and brought food and drinks in a very timely manner. We were sitting on a terrace on the third floor with great views on Registan. It was a chilly night and they brought us throws and moved the outdoor heaters close to us, so we could feel warmer. The lunch was delicious as well and this time Sardor provided great service to us. We will definitely come back if we happen to be back to Samarkand.

This restaurant is all about the view — it directly faces Registan Square. It has three floors, and I highly recommend sitting on the rooftop terrace at sunset. The staff were fluent in English and very attentive. They even offered a complimentary slice of watermelon, which was a nice touch. The food was average and slightly pricey, but you’re really here for the view, not the food — and the view doesn’t disappoint.

I went with my friend, and we were served great food and company from Nijora. We had lagman and kebab, and the lemon green tea was amazing. Nijora was sooo friendly and helpful! It’s right in front of Registan, so the view was absolutely stunning.

Experienced the restaurant with a big group of 14 people. We had a great experience with our server, Ziyobek, who was very attentive. Every dish we had, was delicious.

Sept 2025 - Good Samarkand pilaf! - Popular with the locals and tourist But still can't beat the pilaf I had in Tashkent - SamOsh - is a different level at together.

Good food and nice service! You just sit at the table, and they will bring the condiments to choose. (Salads, youghurt or desserts) They will served you with plov depending on your portion. Service is good, super fast and food is increadible! Price is affordable and cheap too. They accept card or cash. So you dont have to worry!

The only reason im giving it 4 stars is because i found nothing really special in this Plov Center. I have tried other that were probably more appealing and deserve more clout. Dont get me wrong, this places serves some great plov and the service is really good, just nothing special to make it above the rest.

Restaurant with the reputation to have the best Plov in Samarcande. I am not yet a specialist of the Plov, but this one was, by large, the best I ate so far. Large parking, service fast and sympathetic. The restaurant room is basic decoration.

The plov here was absolutely delicious, the best I’ve ever had anywhere in Uzbekistan and neighboring countries. Was silky smooth and perfectly prepared. Staff was efficient and friendly. Service was super fast.

Both my husband and I have a very small appetite, so we shared a small plate of plov and a salad. That’s very enough, as the rice is quite greasy. I appreciate that they let us do this.

I’m a traveler from abroad🇯🇵. The waiter was very kind and patient even though I don’t speak the language. He let me choose between beef or lamb for the plov and made smaller portions of bread and plov for me. Everything was very delicious!😘❣️

It’s located at the rooftop/3rd floor of the East Star Hotel. The restaurant has retractable roofs so don’t worry if it’s raining. The food here was tasty. Every meat was cooked perfectly, not overcooked like most restaurants in the city. The portion of the salads is quite big. The service was good. Although with limited English skills, but still much better than other places in Uzbekistan, they were extremely helpful and did their best to make sure we have everything that we needed. Just use simple words and not full sentences as they might not understand your accent. 15% service fee is already included in the bill so you don’t hv to give extra tip. Unless you want to.

I have never experienced anything like this. It started off well. We arrived for dinner and were brought to our table. Took a while to place our order but all done relatively efficiently. Our drinks were brought quickly. We were waiting a while for starters, maybe 30min. Starters were good (sushi, lentil soup). Then the trouble began! We waited for our mains. And we waited. And we waited some more. About 40mins after the starters were cleared we enquired about the mains. We were told '9 minutes '. Interestingly specific time so we thought ok let's see. Another 15min later, no food. So I asked again. Different waiter (no communication between any of them). He said 2 minutes. I said ok but I'm only waiting 2 minutes. He looked worried. Obviously the food wasn't going to be ready in that time. So, 5 minutes later, no mains in sight so we left. In fairness to the second waiter, he was very apologetic but really we were there so long, the restaurant was almost empty (late enough mid week) and there were about 6 waiting staff standing around not asking themselves if there might be a reason we were sitting there so long! I've never before left without waiting for the ordered dishes but it was ridiculous. A shame really as the food we did have was good.

Really nice terrace restaurant in the East star hotel, very good service (took some time to get food but we’ve found that’s common in Central Asia), but attentive staff. Menu with good choice international cuisine not so much local food. Really good cocktails especially espresso martini. Good choice of local beer for a good price. Live music! Would eat here agin :)

I had a Great experience with this restraint and the food is very delicious and tasty. The Service is Fantastic Because they actually serve cola zero unlike other restaurants in Samarkand. The seats are comfy and the place feels luxurious they could work with the view tho. Overall, my experience with this restaurants is excellent and I would definitely recommend this restaurant to people I know when visiting Samarkand.

We enjoyed Sirius from the moment the lovely lady in the hotel lobby escorted us to our table on the rooftop terrace. The waiters spoke passable English and were happy to explain the menu. Sirius is the first restaurant in Central Asia that delivered our medium-rare tenderloin cooked less than very well done; it was medium but still the best of the rest. The food was excellent. A real highlight was the strolling alto sax player who is quite good.

OMG! Best pizza in central Asia, amazing restaurant highly recommended very clean modern and they have yummy vegetarian options! Don’t forget to try the fries🤩 and the classic honey cake is so delicious

We had some salads and pasta at this place. Really cozy and clean environment, comfortable seating and great, fast service. Good is delicious and prices favorable. Since it’s in backyard of our hotel, we’ve eaten there multiple times. And they also have really good coffee here ☕️

Went here this morning and had pancakes and a cappuccino and my friend and I were both impressed. It appears this cafe is popular with locals too as quite a few people dropped in to grab takeaway coffee while we were having brekky. Recommended for sure.

Great wifi, lovely space to chill and do work, with enough seating and power plugs. Take a moment to watch the cultural show, held on some days at 6pm, priced at 200,000 som...fantastic. I highly rate it.

A cafe I stopped by to kill some time before my train. The Wi-Fi was fast, plenty of power outlets, the food came out quickly, and it was delicious.

This place is a hidden gem in Samarkand. They have delicious coffee and cakes and it’s a nice café. You can work from here or you can indulge in all the cakes with a hot cup of coffee or tea. Really liked it! It’s inside a theatre 🎭 and sometimes you can even attend the show next door.

It's located next to the small theater hall, and I can imagine that before and after the show, it will be buzzing with young people chatting and enjoying their meals or drinks there. The menue has a big variety. I tried European breakfast and my go to hot drink; cappuccino!

We were very lucky to get a recommendation to visit this venue. The show is AMAZING! We also got to have some tea and a delicious cake beforehand. If you are a larger group , call and book ahead. You can be lucky to walk in as well.

A great theatre to feel the culture of Uzbekistan. The performers were good, the music the sequences they pulled off was captivating. Also, the waiting area before entry to the theatre has some nice Uzbek collections. Worth spending a few moments looking through those. Definitely worth a visit.

We had a wonderful experience here! Our waiter was a very polite and friendly young woman in a hijab, which made the service feel so warm and welcoming. The food was excellent and served quickly. The atmosphere is cozy and pleasant, and the place is very clean with a nice design. We ordered pizza and shakshouka. The pizza was soft and delicious, and I highly recommend trying the shakshouka for breakfast, it was very filling and tasty. The prices are also very fair.

I recently visited the restaurant "Mersi" in Samarkand and unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience. The mojito I ordered was the worst I have ever had. It lacked flavor and was not prepared well. Moreover, the food was also not up to par. The bruschetta resembled sandwiches you would find at a gas station, and the salmon lox had a strong unpleasant smell. Additionally, the fried ravioli was priced higher than expected, especially considering it was served in a mediocre creamy sauce. To make matters worse, when I expressed my dissatisfaction with the mojito and refused to pay for it, the so-called manager refused to remove them from the bill. He argued that they had been sold and it would be shameful not to pay. This led to a lengthy discussion, during which the manager made offensive remarks, calling my actions shameless and referring to himself as a generous person who had bought me a drink. This behavior was absolutely appalling and left a very unpleasant impression. Overall, my experience at "Mersi" was extremely unpleasant due to the poor quality of the mojitos, unsatisfactory food, and disrespectful behavior from the manager. I would not recommend this restaurant based on my visit.

We stopped here for coffee and desert after eating at another restaurant and fell in love. We proceeded to come three more times during our time in Samarkand. The food, drinks, service and atmosphere were all excellent. Absolutely a great place to visit.

Great atmosphere with good food

Arirang is a Korean restaurant in Samarkand with large tables suitable for group dining in a bland, unadorned space. I visited on a Friday afternoon and surprised to find the space nearly empty. While there was no air conditioning (only fan), the temperature remained bearable. A few flies landed from time to time on my table in a somewhat annoying manner due to the open doorway. I ordered two types of beef, the bulgogi and the sirloin, but was hoping for tableside grilling help — an elegant touch at many Korean BBQ spots — but was left awkwardly to manage the grill myself. I was impressed the grill was heated by actual charcoal instead of gas. On the other hand, the tabletop grill plates were not nonstick and tended to blacken quickly though to the staff’s credit, they replaced them regularly without being asked, keeping the cooking process from becoming too burnt and blackened. The beef itself was well-marinated, seasoned with a balanced blend of pepper and sweet fruit-soy flavors that brought out the richness of the meat. They were delicious accompanied with rice and some of the banchan. The kimchi itself was below average but I enjoyed their omelet banchan immensely. I also ordered the steamed egg which was less successful — it lacked the signature light, fluffy texture and funky seasoning delivered by fish sauce. Here, it arrived bland and disparate in texture, firmer on the bottom and lesser so on top. Note: the staff initially pushed back on accepting payment by card and gently encouraged cash, though they ultimately complied when I insisted.

Made a wonderful decision to dine here. After a week of Uzbek cuisine, we wanted a change, and saw this restaurant while walking by searching for a place to eat. Loved the soupy dishes we ordered. And what a generous serving of banchan, which were also really yummy. On the night we were there, there weren’t a lot of people, so service was quite prompt, and food was served relatively fast. Highly recommend!

Authentic Korean food in Samarkand. I’m a traveler and I really missed an asian food. I ordered bulgogi. It was served with kimchi, salad and so many dishes. Everything was so good. Also, a staff speaks good English. I enjoyed conversation with him. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

The service was fab from start to finish, and the menu has plenty of authentic Korean variety to pick from! We were a group of 4 men and we ordered Sohanmari - a full menu with meat that you grill yourself with lots of sides. Price is 500.000 UZS for this, excluding 20% service tax but it was with it. We were very hungry and we were full after it. Would return here for sure if I will be in Samarkand

Cant rate food because we only had teas and shisha here. It’s just so nice to have a shisha and sip a tea out in the cold street of Registan. There are 2 shisha places in this street but the other one is only indoors and their shisha is a hundred thousand more Soms than this place. Friendly staffs as always, in whole uzbekistan i guess :) try their NRG Tea! I really enjoyed it.

This is a charming new restaurant across from the Registon. It's an ideal place to grab lunch during a tour with good food and great service. I tried the Kharahun which seems to be unique to this restaurant. It consisted of beef, chicken, and dried apricots cooked to perfection. Everyone in our group was happy with their food.

They probably cheat on taxes, but they really don't want to accept card payments. When I inserted my card, the terminal beeped and didn't generate a cancellation receipt, so I think the waiter intentionally inserted it incorrectly. We had to go to a bank nearby and withdraw cash with a commission.

Okay, yes it’s expensive. Lest we forget this restaurant is opposite Uzbekistans most iconic tourist attraction. However, we left this place completely satisfied with the food we ate. I am vegan and my girlfriend vegetarian so it is hard in Uzbekistan, some other restaurants in the city would put meat in our meal and this left us quite annoyed. Here this wasn’t a problem they listened to our dietary needs, suggested dishes and cooked them perfectly, it was delicious! Would recommend especially if you have different dietary requirements!

We loved this place so much we came to it twice during our short stay in Samarkand. The ambience is lovely, staff are very kind, they have a big menu and everything we ate was delicious. The Moroccan tea is just divine- strongly recommend. The cafe is neat and clean too. I would recommend this cafe to anyone visiting Samarkand.

Koreans need to be patient here — the food comes out really slowly. But the atmosphere is nice, the seats are comfortable, and the restaurant is clean. The food is tasty, but Uzbek dishes are definitely on the salty side 😭 I also met one of the staff members who spoke Korean fluently! They said they’ve been studying Korean and hope to get a visa to go to Korea. It was amazing and heartwarming to meet an Uzbek person who spoke Korean so well.

Delicious local uzbek food! Had some great mantis and loved the lamb kebab. Prices are really fair and service is good, although a little slow at times. If you want a good restaurants in the samarkand city center this is definitely a place to go!

Family business. Shashliks are super big, which I didn't expect, so I got lamb marrow soup, 1 ground beef shashlik, 1 chicken boneless shashlik, big salad, beer. The price was 140k som, I think. It includes bread and vinegar soaked onions - super tasty. The family seems to love what they are doing. They didn't even accept a tip. And one of the brothers sat with me for a bit and we talked together. Second time when I came (after I had soup), I just got 1 shashlik and a beer for 40k. They were super fast. Beer was super cheap - 15k.

Amazing grilled meat. I ate lamb gun (mix) and it was best lamb in my life. Chef satying at barbecue knows his job. For lamb, small fresh salad, 3 manty dumplings, bread and beer I paid 100 UZS, which is awesome! Fully reccommend!

A friendly family run restaurant. The food is excellent. Some of the best food I have had in Uzbekistan in over a week here. I highly recommend their lamb shank soup. The best I've ever had. The lamb shanks melt off the bone and the collagen from the joints is so tasty. Very healthy meal. I also recommend their skewers. The lamb skewer was cooked perfectly and had so much flavour. The beef rolls were also good. If you want even more flavour, order the medallions. They are skewers with beef/lamb with fat in alternating order. Expect to spend around 60,000-80,000 som per person for a hearty meal without alcohol.

This place was great!! A YouTuber I watch called Mark Wiens went here, so I followed suit. I’m glad I did. Tender and juicy grilled meet, perfectly cooked, and the servers were kind and helpful. Try this place for some authentic Uzbek grub.

Oh my lord is this place great. I just don't think I will have shashlik as good as this ever again. I had them order for me their favorites, I believe one was the napoleon, but cannot remember the other two. Whatever the case is, I don't think you can go wrong ordering anything here. This seems to be a really popular amongst the local for shashlik. I found it so-so only; meat was overly salted and oily. No English menu but service was good. The restaurant is rather out of the way, not really worth making the trip.

It is a little bit far from Center. We took a taxi to go and return. The food quality and the prices are very good. The ambient is not so well decorated but it worths to go there only for good food and reasonable prices.

I just happened to pass by and bought a Somsa to try. It was pretty decent — nothing special, but freshly baked and still hot. One Somsa was 12,000 SUM.

Hands down the best somsa I’ve had in Uzbekistan. The pastry was flaky and soft with strong aroma. Inside the meat was tender and flavorful; hot off the grill. On my way out saw a local businessman having 8 on his own: what a delightful sight to withhold!

It's definitely the best somsa I had so far. The dough is crunchy and fluffy it just melts in your mouth. They also have the best lemon tea. Seeing how somsa is baked is also another rewarding experience. The staff is super friendly and efficient. Prices are very reasonable. Highly recommended.

Sushis and burger delicious enough but finding out we paid for items that we didn’t receive was disappointing. Bill comes in russian and if you don’t have internet as a tourist (we were told wifi isn’t working) you may have paid a little extra. The shrimp crisps we did order but they said kitchen forgot and they will cancel it(but didn’t) and “lunchbox” we don’t even know what it is, even if it’s for soya sauce and such, it’s unfair since every place in Samarkand is already getting %10-15 service fee extra. Still waiters are trying the best(tho I think they overwork since reckless-looking) and food is worth trying.

A new, very, very poor marketing idea from Yaponamama. If you give a 5-star positive feedback, you get free ice tea. Now, you can understand how they earn all positive feedback. The kids' box is also very poor and very expensive. For 79000, you get actually nothing compared to, for example, KFC. Service zero, but they charge 10%. It's not a recommended place.

This place has a nice play area for kids, which is unique and wonderful. Adults can converse calmly while the kids amuse themselves. The food is also very good, although the menus are exclusively in Cyrillic so you'll need to use Google Translate. Also, their payment system is wonky and doesn't always accept credit cards.

Tiny cafe next to a local shopping mall. The cafe is small but it gets a great variety of choices for food and drinks ! Atmosphere is cozy and relaxing. Drink is in high quality but it takes a long time for preparation ! Get alternative milk options which is not common in Uzbekistan!

As vegetarians who prefer milk alternatives we were really glad to find Hleb. The staff are lovely and welcoming and the food is great. We went twice, unfortunately on the first visit there were a few misunderstandings, due to language barriers, with the order which were funny and, luckily, vegetarian so we could still eat and enjoy. Poor things, the women there must have thought we were mad! Everything we tried to do to fix it seem to make it worse and it became a comedy. One little suggestion would be a bit of background music.

Such an amazing win & find in Samarkand. My partner and I often struggled to find cafes at times that we 100% trusted, but we continuously kept going back here and felt so good after! All her food is incredibly fresh, healthy and feels almost organic in the body. Especially the sourdough bread she makes!! 10/10 would recommend :)

We visited Domashnii Restaurant after seeing a positive review by Mark Wiens. Unfortunately, we were disappointed to find that there was no live music or courtyard seating as advertised. We also had trouble getting a menu, and the only other diners were middle-aged men, making us feel out of place as foreigners. The atmosphere was rather tense, since nobody was talking and the room was silent. Additionally, the restaurant was located in a dark alley with little lighting, and we found it difficult to find a taxi afterwards. Despite these drawbacks, the food was very delicious. However, when we went to pay, we were surprised by the amount and suspect we were charged a higher, tourist price. Overall, we would recommend trying Samarkand Restaurant instead of Domashnii.

Local restaurant that is walking distance from the Ulug Bey observatory. From the road, walk towards the courtyard and take the stairs to the upper floor. We managed to order and pay after eating without problem, even though the staff barely spoke English. Just try whatever the locals are having!

Cheap, locals come there, limited choices, no english, kind service. I had 3 minced beef sheshliks and bread for 16,000 Sums. I would rate higher ifit was more welcoming to foreigners.

They lied to me about what food they made and they yelled at me. i think they have terrible service and could get better employees. They were absolutely rude and refused to remake my food after acknowledging the mistake they made. However they refunded me after getting their manager called over to me. Ideal location, very cute decoration, we had the pilaf and the kebab in sauce. We liked the pilaf but the quality of the meat was not good. We also loved the tropical tea. It’s not a tourist trap as one would expect due to its location.

We got there at 9.30 pm for dinner and ordered 4 things: 1. Uzbek soup ( it had one slice of carrot, one slice of potato and and one slice of meat) 2. Honey cake ( they told it is not available) 3. Manti (in the menu picture there were four pieces but they brought only one. Also menu didint say that price is per piece) 4. Plov (they told it is not available) Obviously, we were still hungry. We ordered the mashed potatoes with mushrooms and meat. It was tasty but portion super small (check picture). Still hungry. We ordered chicken tight with french fries. It was finally big portion and tasty. WiFi doesn’t work. We had to request the knives as they weren’t served with meal. Summing up: nice plates, menu and walls. Don’t go if you are hungry, not many things available plus small portions. Comparing to different places - quite expensive. Customer service low standard but they charge 17% of final bill for it 😂

They have multiple card machines but does not let us pay by apple pay. We tried using visa card and Mastercard but was rejected by one of the card machines. They rush us to pay by cash and was extremely rude. They did not let us try the other card machines. 17% of service charge is not worth it. The most underwhelming meal I've had in Uzbekistan. Super dry meat, super sweet drinks. Only the salad is edible. Not recommended

The manager has a pure discrimination to Asian people. The wait staff was kind enough to give us a nice table by the side with a nice view as the place was still so empty but the manager stepped in and said the table was reserved and gave us a corner table. So we had no choice but to move. As we're sitting nearby to the original seats that we were sitting, and there were 2 male Caucasian who walked in and they chosen the first table we sat and he gave it to them. Subsequently, all other Caucasian that came in, he allowed them to choice all the reserved tables. So tell me why should we Asian people support such a place anymore even tho their review is so nice but they dont want Asian people to spend money at their premises. Definitely the worst restaurant I’ve been to in Uzbekistan. The atmosphere is bizarre — huge halls that feel more like a wedding venue than an actual restaurant. I ordered a chicken stew, and it arrived somewhere between raw and undercooked — pink, unpleasant, clearly not safe to eat. When I pointed it out to the waiter, he didn’t seem concerned and just told me to try other pieces instead of checking it himself. I was too disgusted to argue and eventually decided to just push the plate aside. A few minutes later, he noticed and took it to the kitchen. He came back and confirmed it hadn’t been cooked properly. He offered to replace it, so I ordered a lamb kebab — which turned out to be just as bad: bland taste and strange texture. Truly a terrible experience. I wouldn’t send my worst enemy there. Avoid at all costs.

The food overall is fine, the paper menu is always “outdated” so just try to ask for something simple. No one understand you doesn’t matter if they speak english so just say “1” and point the dish.

We were a group of 7 travellers with a booking at this restaurant on arrival we were seated immediately in a beautiful outdoor garden setting. Sabohat our waitress was very fluent in English and assisted with menu choices not all wines on the menu were available but the one we had was perfect. Delicious food, great atmosphere, but a bit dark inside and expensive! After all, its a great European restaurant for Uzbekistan. The garden is refreshing, cool and different from other typical restaurants in this area!

A splendid meal. We would have preferred to be inside (fully booked) and away from the music - hence losing a star for atmosphere - but a very popular place. Nonetheless, the food was great and the wonderful service provided by Valentina was exceptional.

High rating given because the place has decent veg options, and a good lemon tea. We had the potato manti and the vegetable skewer, as well as a pot of tea with sugar which was very nice. The manti was nice too, but the grilled veggies were not great (they were just plain grilled veggies). You can also sit outside which is nice, though the decor is a little bit rustic. You also have to pay for the bathroom, and they don't accept card here.

Foreigners restaurant. The herbs and spices that they use is not too strong rather than other local restaurant. All food is good, just a little bland. What i can recommend is their Samosa only. Plov is good but other places gave more topping and softer beef And dont forget you need to pay the restroom for 3,000 SUM per person although you eat in this restaurant. This is supposed to be a tourist trap, but I actually liked it. Still very genuine. Lots of seating options, great selection of food, food was good, but the best is the atmosphere, especially in the evening - and it’s open late. There was nothing pretentious about this place.

They say when you are in Uzbekistan you have to visit Samarkand and you have to try the Plov in Samarkand because its the best in Uzbekistan. I found out about this place also through some online research and recommendation. Quite a distance away from the touristy area so have to take a taxi to reach here. I arrived about 730pm and the restaurant was pretty empty, there was probably just another table of 2 people dining. I was quite disappointed that there was no menu and there was only 1 dish for the day which was the plov, I thought I could have some kebab here. As many reviews have mentioned about the super friendly and nice staff I have met him myself and he showed me to the kitchen and the big wok with the plov in it. After taking photos he sat me down and started preparing to serve me the plov, together with a plate of salad. The plov is very flavourful but if you ask me it is not really the type of plov that I like. Don't get me wrong that its not nice but it's just individual preference. I found the rice here a little on the tough side, and I thought it was on the wok it should be hot but it was just lukewarm. I also found the plov kinda dry, so I tried to finish the plate together either eating with the meat or the salad. The rice was also on the slightly fatter side which I thought would taste better when its softer and wetter. It was a decent meal nevertheless, I finished the whole plate though the portion was pretty big but that was enough for the Samarkand plov experience for me. Come and try it out for yourself.

Several items not available. Awkward conversation. Confusion all around and staff wanted to go eat themselves. I am 99% certain this is a good restaurant, and that I just came by at the wrong time (Dec 29th). The available food was really good.

We had the best Uzbek food of our entire trip here! The plov, somsa and lagman are must-tries. The plov and lagman we had elsewhere in Uzbekistan weren't nearly as good. They don't have a menu (which is a huge red flag in Uzbekistan), however the prices were very reasonable and staff were honest. There is an English-speaking waiter who gave us very good service both times we visited. If you've not been here, you haven't had real Uzbek food!

The food was very good, however, Plov dishes seems to be a bit undercooked may be as I arrived early at 11:30 AM that day and they were still cooking the Plov dish.

Great food and great service by the staff, Shakhboz. There's no English menu but there was one staff that could speak very fluent English. He recommended us dishes and they all tasted amazing — except for the Napoleon pastry, it was nice but too sweet for my liking. Shakhboz even helped us with our trip's itinerary and gave us a map to show the directions. Price was reasonable as well. We ordered two salads, one Laghman, one chicken and one beef kebab, a plate of rice, a pot of tea and Napoleon pastry, it cost us around 70,000 soms.

Most delicious Plov we've had anywhere. Must come. Beware this is a Halal restaurant, so no alcohol. Setting is rather simple, but of course the price is very reasonable. If you like Plov, this is your place!

The Lagman very delicious especially something like chili paste(serve as side) Service is good from the young boy and it seem that also very popular spot for local. I ate there twice but on my second day the change is incorrect. I only checked when i leave the place.. my bad. so check you change before you leave that place. I read some review mention that there is no 10%. This is incorrect as they do charge 10 same as other restaurant in Samarkand.

We were walking in the University Boulevard and stop there for a dessert and coffee. The atmosphere with the open kitchen and design was so good so we decided to come back for dinner. We ordered Artichoke hummus, ravioli with beef and risotto. All food was extremely delicious. I think this is one of the best restaurants in all of Uzbekistan. We really enjoyed our time in there. And the waiter Abdussamed was so nice and friendly. I would definitely be a regular if I live in Samarkand. Very very strongly recommend this place.

The food was sooo good! We had the risotto with camembert (excellent) and the rigatoni cacio e pepe (we ordered two portions of this because it was so good). And cold cocoa and a buckwheat drink (super yum!!) and some Parmesan fries (also excellent) and their San Sebastián cheesecake. Shah Rukh was our server and he was the sweetest and nicest. We were so happy after eating here after having tried a couple of cafés, which had very mediocre food. We might come back although we are here only for two more days.

If you desire some fine dining, then this is the place to be. In 30-40€, two people can eat a scrumptious meal of 'fine-dining' quality, something that would cost 150€ or more in Munich. The staff was excellent as well. I'd highly recommend this place. Definitely my favorite in Samarqand. Highly recommend for anyone who craves a change of taste from traditional Uzbek food. The service was refreshingly welcoming and the waiter was very attentive. We were also pleasantly surprised by the high quality of food here. Everything was fantastic. The chicken and duck leg were so juicy and the seasoning was very balanced.

Excellent brunch spot! Boulevard has an upscale yet comfortable vibe. We were greeted warmly, shown to our table, and well taken care of. The food was great too. We decided to come here to have a good laugh... and we had a good laugh. The "pizza" is something not even comparable to a pizza, but I have to say it is kinda of good in a weird way (still: not a pizza). The best part of our experience was when the waitress took away my plate while I was still holding my last slice in my hand. Of course many items on the menu are missing and you can not pay with card, but those things seems a constant in Uzbekistan. Weird experience. Highly recommended.

Beware of Hidden Charges. Whilst we enjoyed the food in this restaurant, we were less happy to find a bread charge on our bill, even though we never had bread. We were also charged a very high 30% service tax for sitting in a VIP area: the area we were instructed to sit by staff. As well the cost of beer was the highest we ever had in Uzbekistan. Coincidentally, the price of beer was not listed on the menu.

This place is busy with many big tour bus groups, normally I’m against eating at a tourist trap restaurants, but since our tour group took us here, we have no choice. The restaurant is a short viewing distance to the BiBi Mosque. The food is ok enough, but the wait was little slow and maybe little expensive compared to other nearby places.

I went in and was only given a drink menu. I told them I was going to eat, but they said they couldn't help me because there was a group upstairs. There were plenty of empty tables downstairs. I've never seen anything like it in my life. They practically sent me away.

Came here for an evening tea and snack (around 6 pm) on a Ramadan evening in March. We just found it randomly and walked in, and the view was stunning. The drinks (lemon tea and coffee) were frankly not very good, but the view more than made up for it. For coffee, we tried ordering a cappuccino but they could only serve us Americano with milk on the side (not sure why). We also had a lavash with feta which was quite tasty. I would recommend this place after a long day sightseeing but I don't think you should have high hopes for the food.

A restaurant in the most picturesque area of Bukhara offers great view and home-made style food. But what touched us more are people, who work there. We visited the place on a very quiet night. It was a weekday during low season. We were the only table in this huge restaurant. We got a pot of lemon tea, two plates of salad, and a dessert. The price was a little high compared to other restaurants in this area. (We had lunch at the restaurant across the street). The service was okay. There were too many of them hanging around for one table. After a while, they all, except one guy, left.

Here’s my take… pretty nice. The servers were kind and helpful. Food took a while to come out and was pretty good. Menu is varied with plenty of options.

It's biggest disappointment in our whole Uzbekistan trip. Google map showed up the place. We came around 16.00 o'clock, place was almost empty. At the entrance we asked do u have coffe and some desert? A young Russian man said that they have coffe. Without any warm hello or welcome. He seemed like he wasn't happy to see us ir he didn't like us. Then we wanted to Cappuccino he said,coffe machine isn't working. Then we asked him to bring Americano. And please some milk. This is the moment we were shocked " He answered me with kidding and smiling " But Americano doesn't come with milk Incredible disrespect and bad attitude. During 6 day we didn't see anything like that. Another girl served us coffe,cup aas half empty. Well.. Good place with horrible waiters. Prices are one of the highest in the city. It made asking a question or making a request feel like an apology was necessary. 3. Gloomy and Inappropriate Atmosphere The indoor lighting was excessively dark—it felt like we were dining in a cave. I cannot understand how this gloomy atmosphere is supposed to complement any type of food. It seemed like a forced attempt at creating 'ambience,' but the result was a terrible environment that made the food look even less appealing. 4. Shocking Food Quality (Hands Down, the Worst) The most severe issue is, without a doubt, the food. We ordered four different dishes, and astonishingly, not a single one was worth the price we paid. Every single menu item was a disappointment; the freshness of ingredients, cooking state, and balance of flavors were all a mess. Selling such substandard cuisine at this price point feels like a deception to the consumer. We forced ourselves to eat a few bites before leaving most of it untouched. Overall Verdict: Visiting this place is an act of throwing away your precious mealtime. Unless you genuinely desire rude service, a tedious wait, and historically bad food, I strongly advise you to look elsewhere. I certainly won't be making this mistake twice.

One of our favourite places during our trip through Uzbekistan! During our stay in Samarcand we came not once… but three times! The staff is lovely, everyone speaks English. All of the dishes we tried (over three dinners… we had time to try quite a few) were delicious and perfectly presented. The eggplant rolls with cheese are a must!

The food is ok, nothing worth mentioning but not a disaster either. However we had to wait 1 hour 20 mins for our food to arrive. We were seated outside and given a bell to press to get the waiter to come over. That DID NOT work. Nobody cares about how long you had been waiting for food and nobody comes over even when we had been hitting that bell like crazy… Just when we finally had enough and got up to pay for the bread and salad we did consume, the food started to trickle in. Honesty, worst meal we have had in this country so far. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!

Well, this place changed my perceptive of Uzbek food. I was not fond of Uzbek food and i was very much skeptical to give it a try. But Samarkand change it all the way. If food is cooked with love and proper recipe it will taste amazing. And thats what I experienced at Manresa. It was lovely spending our lunch in Manresa. The food is delicious specially the beef steak and Pasta. Its also a plus to foreigners to visit this place because there is a guy who can speak english. He is half Korean and half Turkish. I forgot to ask his name. He also helped me how to use Yandex app for transportation. All in all food is the best and staffs are nice. 👌❤️

We have been planing to visit the place long time ago , so we got a chance when we visited Samarkan. Atmosphere is beautiful , waiters are average , food wasn’t as people prescribe . May be we already have tried quite a lot different cuisines . We ordered tom yum soup which is not bad . Ribs were quite hard. Salmon was average . The easiet making salad wasn’t great at all . Anyway good to visit once but it first worse the bill . There are more restaurants with reasonable price and amazing food

Very small pasta (120gr for 1p), it felt more like an appetizer. Pizza was very fresh and delicious, but also quite small. They gave us a complimentary dessert pizza. Fresh food without a doubt, but portions should be larger (or prices should be lower).

We had a dinner with group of friends at Roni Pizza Napoletana last night, and we had such a great time! 👌 Food was fantastic! I had Margarita Pizza, my friends have 3 different pastas, red wine, beer, chocolate fondant and cheese cake, and sea buckthorn tea was soooo tasty! Recommend! Best pizza in Samarkand its just sad they don't want to make any change. I'm vegan and it would have been perfect to change the cheese for cashew or pistachio cream. They have all the ingredients to make the best vegan pizza even. They didn't want to put other vegetables so I had a pizza with only sauce because I don't eat cheese. Anyway, the dough and the sauce are the best.

These guys know something about Italian pizza! A renowned international pizzeria has recently opened in Samarkand, and it's already thriving. The Neapolitan pizza was a delicious treat, and the local beer was of remarkable quality. They have their own cuisine style, I see it as a rare virtue. Although I didn't like the mismatched interior, the staff maintains it well and keeps it spotless. Waiters speak in different languages and work fast. The pizza I chose from a decent, but not really large menu, also was served quickly. They provide contactless payment via Rahmat app. For now, I am describing RONI as a perfect place, well… it indeed might be the best pizza-and-beer combination I’ve had in a long while. But consider the fact that prices above $15 here are not affordable for every person (including me) for everyday dinner.

Excellent pizza with a light fluffy dough, not overloaded with cheese, but had an interesting and obviously curated treatment. Light yet filling. Service was friendly and warm. No English menu but you can manage with Google translate camera. Tiramisu dessert was excellent. And someone from the staff could manage English. A little in the expensive side but still excellent value. Decor and atmosphere also very IG worthy, clean, interesting and very photogenic.

Wow! This place is a gem. I would give this place 100 starts if I could!! The food is so so delicious,especially their salads and cold appetizers. I had lunch here after arriving reaching Samarkand. It’s just a km or so from the station. The food was remarkable, we had sushi and bibimbap and tea, everything tasted so good. The restaurant was empty when we arrived so service was prompt and food arrived pretty quick too. The pricing is mid range, wouldn’t exactly call it cheap. But I really enjoyed the food!!!!

This Japanese restaurant offers not only high-quality sushi, but also a great selection of other dishes like wok noodles, chicken dishes, and especially the spicy chili chicken — absolutely delicious! What really made our visit special was the outstanding service from Aliana, (maybe we write the name wrong) She was incredibly attentive, professional, and made us feel very welcome. Her warm attitude and excellent service truly stood out. Everything we tried was flavorful and well-prepared. 3 tourists had dinner here. A few other tables of tourists, no locals. Waiter brought up the English menu on his phone for us, very nice service. My wife and our friend didn’t think their pasta or chicken dinner was worth it; I had the steak and vegetables, thought it was good. Nice quiet dinner, not fast food. Clean, good service, quiet-what I like in a restaurant. They also had a big display of deserts.

Small eaterie outside our hotel. Must have their freshly baked beef Somsa. Their Plov is ok, cooked heavy on the oil with pumpkin and super tender beef. Light on tree he flavour.. All in enjoyable and affordable too.

We were recommended this place and were very disappointed as the food was not great. It was by far the worst plov we had in 9 days in Uzbekistan. The rice was cooked properly and only meat fats were there. The samsa meat was of poor quality, felt uncooked and I even almost broke my tooth on some bones in there. Manti were average too. The food was served so fast it was suspicious; clearly plov was simply reheated. The hygiene of the kitchen did not look great either. Service was ok, they had great WiFi and they spoke decent English. We were able to pay by card also. Seems like a tourist trap for people visiting Regestan in Samarkand, would not visit again.

I had 2 Shashliks, one chicken & one meat. The taste was very nice & the service was neither fast nor slow. They served the bread cold at first but I asked them to heat it & it was ok. The atmosphere is homelike and maybe too quiet.

The food was good, the place was authentic, lots of locals enjoying their shared meals. To a westerner it can look odd, eating on the street like this but the locals do it.

An average restaurant. Clean with friendly staff. A very wide range of dishes but ai thinks soups and salads are their best items. They even have a Japanese menu with such that I don’t recommend. I tried the salmon avocado roll and it was nothing like the picture! And not very nice! I really think restaurants should stick to what they know best and avoid offering food that is not their speciality! Will go back for simple items in the future!

Ikat Boutique Cafe is situated along a touristy path! It has some small shelves of retail merchandise and several tables for dining. We ordered a lamb soup, Plov, Lagman, Greek Salad and a plate of Mantis! All tasty! The Cafe is simple but adequate!!!

A nice place with an excellent view. We ordered lagman, manti and other appetisers. The portions were satisfying, the taste is good and prices are reasonable. They also have a small section for souvenirs and artifacts.

We came here for Lunch and it was not too busy, cute place and in a good part of Samarkand. We ordered Gampan and Qovurma Lagmon. The Gampan was nicely presented, flavourful and filling, no complaints. However the Qovurma Lagmon that arrived was completely different to the picture, the noodles were just bland and oily, (the egg was good though) and the meat was bland. When I asked about the spices in the meal (or lack off) such as the Paprika that is clearly in the picture and labelled in the ingredients I was pointed to the 4 triangles of pepper on my plate and told this was paprika after waiting about 5 minutes for someone to actually come and speak to me about it after I mentioned it the first time. I could not finish my meal and felt disappointed of it as the picture showed different and I have had amazing Lagmon in other places. But they did take 5000 Som off my meal which I did not expect which was nice of them too do so thank you but of course there was still a 10% service charge. Maybe if you come here stick to a simple meal or soup as it will be more specialised.
