Restaurant
Trattoria Al Gatto Nero is a long-standing, family-run trattoria located in Burano, known for its lagoon-fresh seafood and homemade pasta. The restaurant has been serving locals and famous residents like Philippe Starck for over half a century. They take pride in selecting the freshest morning seafood catch to create perfect versions of local specialties such as risotto con go and fritto misto.
The BEST clam pasta we’ve ever had. The razor clam and scallop appetizer was delicious. Our server recommended the risotto to us which is only made a certain way on Bruno islands. A lot of menu items have a minimum 2 person order so the risotto was 60€ 😳 which was good but nothing of wow factor like the clam pasta was. If we could go back, we’d get the clam pasta and another pasta dish instead. You must make a reservation in advance or get lucky like us and go right off the water taxi to see if any reservations are left. Luckily we got one of the last walk-ins for lunch at 2pm. Total for an appetizer, the risotto for 2 and 1 clam pasta dish which we split was 170€.

The clam pasta (vongle) dish was a standout and a must have. We had so many average to poor pasta dishes throughout Italy until we reached this place. The signature antipasto dish and mixed grilled fish plates were good. Manuel our server was excellent and made it a great experience.

If there were 10 stars I would put them, 5 stars are not enough for this place!! I did my daughter’s christening and it was the best place we could choose!!! The chef, the people and the food are on another level !! The place serves every desire and exceeds them !!!! Highly highly recommended to go !! Whoever hasn’t been there MUST go :))

This place has juicy, fresh and delicious seafood! We loved the razor clams especially. My husband also loved the clam spaghetti. The ragu pasta was of good quality too. We had the traditional tiramisu for dessert and it was lovely.

Exceptional food and service. We had made a reservation as recommended and got the seafood special appetiser and risotto. The seafood was super fresh and seasoned beautifully. A very special experience. We paid €121 for the food and water.

It’s a bit pricey, but absolutely worth it - this was the best restaurant we visited during our trip to Venice. In fact, it was because of this meal that Burano became our favorite island. We had lunch here without a reservation, but the staff were incredibly kind and offered us a table in 40 minutes. The bread with balsamic vinegar and olive oil was delicious. We’re still wondering where I can find the same vinegar they use! The seafood appetizer was fresh and flavorful, and the pasta we ordered was rich and perfectly cooked. While waiting, we chatted with a lovely older couple (in their 60s/70s) next to us, who told us it was their sixth time coming back to the island just for this restaurant. I hope that one day, when we’re their age, we can return to this little island and enjoy another meal here.:)

We made a reservation here about three weeks before and glad we did. We sat right on the canal which was gorgeous. The owner came to our table to get to know us. He said that way he would know what to recommend. Because of the reviews of their rosotto we knew that was a course. Their tagliolini seafood was incredible. And when he knew we wanted that he added in an appetizer of prawns, langostini, and calamari. And of course he recommended a nice white wine for us. Atmosphere, food and friends made this an unforgettable evening. Highly recommend the food and service.
Bob H — Google review
Genuinely the best restaurant I’ve ever had the pleasure of dining at. Massi was so kind and truly made me feel like a member of the family. I’d emailed the restaurant in advance to reserve a table, which I highly recommend doing ahead of time. In the nicest way possible, they had to turn away many walk ins because they simply didn’t have the capacity. I was seated in the back garden, which felt like its own little slice of heaven. It was quaint and made me feel there was not a worry in the world. The service was so special. I was greeted with a glass of white wine upon arrival (not sure if this is standard or because this was a kind gesture for their being a queue at the host stand) and was visited multiple times by Massi and another waiter to ensure everything was to my liking. I ordered the clams to start and the fish as my main. Both were fresh and flavorful, and they filet the fish table side for me so that I didn’t have to pick around any bones myself and had the fish presented in such a memorable way. The food, service and atmosphere were all impeccable. I live halfway across the world and can’t wait for the day I get to return here again.

Trattoria da Romano is a historic, family-run trattoria located in Burano, the vibrant Venetian island known for its colorful houses and picturesque fishing boats. Since opening in 1900, the restaurant has become renowned for its art-filled interior adorned with over 400 works of art contributed by visiting painters and artists over the years.
A great place in the heart of Burano. The trattoria is big but busy, we had to wait on arrival to get a table but it was worth it. Anyone can find a place here, there is a terrace, a stylish and a family-friendly section. The seafood and the artichoke was amazing. Prices are high, but so is the quality. Professional service, friendly staff. Recommended. 👌🏻

Wonderful food and experience. The risotto was one of the best we’ve had! A must try. We also had the mixed fish grilled and fried. You can taste the freshness of the food. Delicious all around.

Great restaurant in Burano. Shrimp risotto and calamari were both great. Really enjoyed the calamari as it was a perfect amount of breading and had great flavor w lots of meaty pieces. Came for Lunch on a Sunday and no wait to sit outside (inside was pretty empty). Outside service could use another waiter as I could tell the two working there were very busy.
Pat Z — Google review
Da Romano is more than a restaurant: it’s a Burano institution. Four generations of the Barbaro family have run it since Romano turned his bottega into a trattoria around 1920. The walls are crowded with paintings, a legacy of the artists who dined here from the 1930s onwards. The food lives up to the history: a wood-grilled plate of sea bass, bream, monkfish and prawn (8.5/10); a briny-fresh frittura mista of Adriatic fish and vegetables (8/10); and the signature risotto al nero di seppie - deep, poised, umami-rich (8.5/10). Tiramisu was lighter, coffee-shy (7/10). Bussolai biscuits, meringue cake and a rare santonego grappa closed the meal - rooted in Burano, straight from the lagoon.
Loo Y — Google review
A charming, classic restaurant with a refined, old-world atmosphere — walls adorned with vintage photographs and paintings, waiters serving with true gentlemanly grace. The menu offered a wide selection of traditional dishes and wines. The risotto, though a bit mild in flavour, was cooked to perfection, while the fish was simply outstanding.

Had the most enjoyable lunch at Italy yet A great restaurant with 100+ years of history This particular gentlemen, assisted us for lunch and we really felt the pride and joy he has. Risotto was good Lemon Meringue was good Food was perfect. Most important the people, would recommend you to come !
JG S — Google review
We took a water bus over to the island of Burano to eat at a local restaurant that has been in the family for 4 generations, since 1920. We heard about it from Anothony Bourdain, where he went nuts over their seafood risotto, which has been made the exact same way since they opened, passing the recipe down the family line. When they first opened they just served fishermen and lace makers, but now the island is popular with tourists. On the walls of the restaurant were many famous people who had eaten there, including Robert De Niro, Keith Richards, Charlie Chaplin, Sylvester Stallone, Jane Fonda, and a very long list of other famous people. The risotto was pretty good but my favorite part was the lemon cake with meringue, it was without a doubt one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. It might inspire me to make more meringues. The sea bass was good but expensive. If you’re staying in Venice a few days then you should get the multi day boat pass, it’s a lot easier and more economical.

A hidden gem on this island - the warm staff made me cared for, the food was unforgettable, and the atmosphere was the perfect mix of elegance and comfort. I truly hope to return one day :)

Trattoria Da Primo is a long-standing, family-owned restaurant known for serving robust regional dishes from Burano, including seafood and risotto. While fish-based cuisine is the highlight, the restaurant also offers traditional bussolai pastries and creamy risotto di go. Visitors recommend trying the sarde in saor, a Venetian classic, followed by the tremendous grigliata mista (seafood mixed grill).
Amazing. This is a dining experience. The food is incredible, the family that runs the restaurant is wonderful. We completely enjoyed ourselves and were treated like family. The homemade tagliolini scampi and risotto were what my wife and I shared, the rest of our group demolished their food and we were too busy eating to get more pictures! The traditional Burano biscuit was the perfect ending to our meal. Definitely on my "need to return" list!

The Risotto Di Go is pure perfection. The sea bass and scallops were amazing. The service was everything! Slipped us to grab her name but we remember that the dishes we had are her mom’s recipes so I’m assuming she is the owner but nonetheless, if you read this, just know you are an absolute gem and the sweetest person. Thank you! Zoom into the window on the photo of the restaurant to see the nicest hostess smiling for the photo!

A very charming family-run place where you’re greeted with a smile and genuine warmth. The staff are friendly, and the seafood is exceptionally fresh and delicious — perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Definitely a place I’d recommend! 🐚✨

Friendly family run restaurant. Very efficient service. A few sisters run around entertaining guests. All very friendly. The owner is also a fisherman and serves catch of the day as daily specials. We had the baked brim with potatoes. The mussels were super fresh and the vongole had a generous amount of clams. The sauce and flavor was spot on. Wished I had more spaghetti to mop up the sauce. Top 3 meal of my Italian trip.

What a wonderful family run restaurant serving fresh seafood from nearby waters. Each dish is explained in detail with love. Each dish was fresh with new flavors we never had before.
Nicola V — Google review
Waitress was nice, and seafood spaghetti was also nice. Unfortunately carbonara was a disaster - it was basically pasta with scrambled eggs and no taste of real carbonara... and it was expensive, I've had much better carbonara for 12 euro, this one was not worth even 8 euro (and it did cost around 16 euro) Pasta itself felt like something you can get at every store. Overall the dinner (2 pasta dishes, 1 beer and one drink) cost us 57 euro, but it was all worth maybe 40 euro
Andrzej L — Google review
€3 Cover Charge – As explained by the waitress, the cover charge includes the bread placed on the table (whether you eat it or not) and a few other items. Even she, as a local, pays it—so it’s not just a tourist thing, so they claim. For my appetizer, I ordered an assortment of sliced meats (€18), followed by a house special not listed on the menu: seafood lasagna (€22). I also had a glass of white wine (€9). I initially thought the wine was €5, but wine isn’t exactly my area of expertise—perhaps I ended up with a different pour. Ignorance is bliss? The meats were solid. The seafood lasagna was tasty, but the portion was noticeably small—especially compared to the generous pasta plates I saw being served around me. To be honest, photos of the lasagna elsewhere looked more impressive than the one I received. Service was warm and attentive, and the ambiance was pleasant overall.
Ray M — Google review
We had such a lovely lunch here with our two children. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. The food was outstanding - my husband had the fresh catch of the day, recommended by the owner, and it was fresh and perfect. I loved the local preparation of liver, while our kids happily tucked into grilled scampi and a seafood platter. Every dish was delicious, and the atmosphere made us feel so welcome. We left very happy and very much hope to return.

Riva Rosa is a charming seafood restaurant located on the picturesque lace island of Burano in Venice. Owned by the family behind the prestigious Emilia lace brand, the restaurant boasts an elegantly feminine decor that reflects their exquisite design sensibilities. The chef skillfully transforms the daily catch into delectable Venetian dishes such as risotto al go, spaghetti with clams and mussels, and turbot baked with potatoes.
We had an amazing time. Our waiter was so knowledgeable and let us know about the specials of the day not listed on the menu. The atmosphere was absolutely perfect! The food was delicious and creative! We were taught a little bit of Italian by another waiter! Overall this resteraunt was a 5/5!

We enjoyed our lunch here in the sunshine. The food was delicious and the chef had a very light touch. We tried the sardines, calamari and one of the pasta dishes with tuna. Unfortunately, some of the dishes weren’t available that we fancied from our first choices bit the ones we had didn’t disappoint. The desserts were good but didn’t excite as much as the previous courses. We also had the Prosecco which was lovely. The service was fantastic, first class, and really attentive without being overbearing.
Michelle O — Google review
The prices were too high for what we got. The portions were small. The seafood pasta had so many tiny clams that there was barely anything to eat, although the taste was good. The steak came with just a small side salad and wasn’t enough to satisfy even my child — he left the table still hungry. The fish dish was also quite small. Overall, the food tasted fine, but the portion sizes definitely didn’t match the prices.
Oleksandr — Google review
What a delightful spot! The food was absolutely delicious, and the place has a charming, upscale vibe that makes it feel special. While the rooftop was closed on the day I visited, the views of Burano’s bright, colorful houses were still stunning from the restaurant. Perfect for a relaxed meal with a beautiful backdrop. Highly recommend it for anyone visiting this vibrant island!
Vineeta S — Google review
Best carbonara I have ever tasted! Service was excellent as well. Very reasonable prices for an amazing experience. The meringue for dessert was perfect too.
Henna D — Google review
Delicous food, amazing view and lovely friendly staff - was nice as a brit to be able to speak in italian and not be responded to in english, but to be appreciated for making the effort. We had the carbonara from the specials board and the fried squid/vegetables and it was delicious, perfect portions for a scorching hot day and delightful view of the canal and coloured houses.
Char G — Google review
Pizza was not long enough in the oven. One of the weakest Pizzas I have tried in Italy. The 18 Euro for the sardines was too high for the portion size (see picture). Fish was ok but not seasoned. Pasta with butter was good and a decent size.
Michael — Google review
This restaurant was recommended to us by our tour guide. The service was outstanding. Our server recommended a great bottle of wine and was very helpful when we were deciding on what to order. The food was probably the best we had in the 10 days we were in Italy. The risotto di "go" was delicious as was the special appetizer of artichokes and scallops. Highly recommend.

Excellent price to quality ratio. Simply great quality local specialities, with creative modifications. Very comprehensive wine list. When you're looking for solid good food in less casual than Bistrot de Venise environment. Really friendly service.

Came here with a group of friends on vacation (6 total) and had an amazing, memorable meal. Our waiter Alvise was kind and so fun to talk to, making our experience in the beautiful garden space even better. We loved everything we ate including the tartares, red sauce pasta, lamb chops and gnocchi. The chef is Sicilian and has created wonderful dishes in addition to the Venetian cuisine. Truly the best sorbet (rosemary and strawberry) and cannolis of our lives! Come here and you’ll be taken care of.
Alina R — Google review
This restaurant was recommended by our hotel and we booked about 6-8 weeks ahead for dinner for our first night in Venice. It was by far the best restaurant we ate at during our 4 days in Venice. They offer outdoor seating but I preferred the warmth and atmosphere of the indoor area. If you do eat outside, be sure to check out the wall of bottle openers! The food was incredible from start to finish. The wine was phenomenal as was the presentation when we were served our chosen bottle of red wine for the initial tasting. Ended with grappa to aid our digestion which hit the spot! It is right off the main area tucked away so it is not as busy with tourists. If you are looking for traditional Italian cuisine in a quieter area with great service, you will not be disappointed.

Shara G — Google review
honestly the food is 5 stars and one of the best meals of the trip. however, it was pretty pricy and got bit by mosquitoes after the sun set hence the one star deduction. eggplant dip: top tier tuna cracker: also delicious gnocchi: must try! so flavorful and perfectly cooked
Andrea S — Google review
This is a place my wife and I went to in 2023 for our honeymoon and have thought about coming back to constantly. I took a picture of our food here, forgot to save the places name, and therefore spent over an hour scouring images of restaurants just to find this place and come back! And I was successful! The service is so friendly, and it truly feels like a place where you only see the locals go, and they know what’s up. They seem to change the menu frequently, but if you get lucky enough to have the octopus as a started, then go buy a lotto ticket. The gnocchi were literally the softest we have ever had in our two trips through Italy. I don’t mean like soft and gummy like- I mean soft like you are cutting into ?pillows? Kind of texture??? The sauces are perfectly seasoned, and the portion for the prices seem really fair for the quality and freshness of the ingredients
Annie S — Google review
Beautiful presentation of the food. Quiet street off the beaten path. Homemade everything. We had the potato gnocchi with scallops and shrimp and the spaghetti with tomato and basil. Appetizer of grilled octopus with potato and honey onions was fabulous. Get a street table for lunch as the interior garden is too sunny. If I am ever back in Venice I would come in the evening and ask to sit there. Cost is worth every penny. We did not add drinks to our estimate.
Suzanne L — Google review
Was recommended by hotel but it was a terribly experience, particularly compared with other local Trattoria we’d been to. Host was not welcoming (which we put down to poor English skills which seemed strange based on other places) and the mains were terrible. We had lamb and a pork main off the standard menu. When they arrived they were the wrong way round and we said that, but they could distinguish between the two ! We did based on taste. The mains were no better than canteen food and no way worth the 25 euros for lamb and 18 for the pork. It was a very disappointing evening. I’m sure if we were Italian it would have been much better.

A delightful surprise! We took the staff's recommendation and tried the prawns, which were incredibly fresh and delicious. We were so impressed by their honesty, as they served us three oysters for the price of two just because one was small. Truly a gem of a restaurant!

Stopped by for a quick bite during my tour after reading a review about their squid and pistachio gnocchi. I sat inside and the waiter explained to me the squid and mussel gnocchi which wasn’t on the menu was great too. I took her recommendation and when my food came out I was very disappointed. I wish I took a picture to include in this review but it was soo underwhelming that I didn’t think to. It was the smallest portion of gnochi with I promise maybe 2-3 tiny pieces calamari squid and mussels.. I couldn’t even consider it an appetizer and it’s just so crazy to charge 20 euros for this. I’m not happy and go to pay after 2 minutes and they try charging me 25 euros which I object with them telling me since I got 2 seafood in mine for that price point. I was appalled and ended up paying 22 euros for including a cover charge when they did absolutely nothing. The woman manager or owner who was attacking me saying it’s outrageous of me to not pay 25 euros and that I was not ordinary. I’ll leave it at that but please eat elsewhere there are other restaurants nearby that will not treat you like this and steal your money. The food did not fill me up at all and service was honestly disgusting. **Responding to their comment, they did not provide me with bread or croutons or whatever they are claiming, such a blatant lie I promise, wow.

My family and I were hungry when we arrived in Burano so I searched for restaurants near me and Osteria Al Fureghin popped up with good reviews. We ordered the salmon salad, pasta with tomato sauce and pasta with meatball sauce. All the food was delicious! The salmon mixed really well into the salad and had no presence of a fishy taste. The pasta stood really well on its own and with the addition of Parmesan cheese. I was definitely really pleased with our dishes and the servers were friendly as well although they spoke little English. I would definitely recommend eating here. No complaints here!

On a hot June day, we were taken to the second floor, which was air-conditioned and cool, with a view of the river from the window. I ordered pasta with squid ink, which was not on the menu, and they gladly made it for me. It was hot and tasty, with just the right amount of salt and broth. I don't know if other restaurants on the island are owned by foreigners, but many of the waiters serving us were Asian, but here Italian was still spoken throughout the restaurant. Not bad. It was semi good. Nice location. My pizza was done well but my girlfriends as so much. The environment was nice. Our waiter was kind. The atmosphere made up for what the food had lacked. Not ecstatic they charged 3 euro a glass for ice. It’s a nice spot for a quick eat for lunch when you are visiting Burano.

I highly recommend the Spaghetti allo Scoglio! One of the best we had during our trip to Italy this summer. It also happened to be rainy when we arrived in Burano, the service staff quickly put up the awning so that we would be sheltered from the rain.

The owner is very welcoming, but the food...not so good...sorry, the pizza dough is very good, but the toppings were subpar. Also, before deciding to eat, be aware that there's a cover charge of 3 euros per person.

Went for lunch on 22nd march and was recommended the squid ink pasta. After having 2-3 pieces I noticed that the texture of the squid was completely off. Every piece of squid was mushy and if you have eaten squid before, you should know that regardless of how it is prepared, it’ll have a slight chew to it. Not to mention the fishy taste the squid had. When I brought this up to the staff, they just played it off as this is how squid should taste like. The other dishes we ordered were just average. I wouldn’t recommend visiting but if you do, just avoid the squid ink unless you wanna try mushy squid. EDIT: I might have mistook the “local” cuttlefish for squid, but the videos still show the low standard of food served by your restaurant. I’m sure your reply will sit well with any potential customers searching up your restaurant 👍

We stopped here 3 times in 2 days. The second day the staff recognised us and we felt like family. Pizza was delicious, beer was wonderfully cold, Aperol Spritz was strong, and toilets were very clean. Nice view and staff were very friendly.

Not a cheap place but pizza was delicious. Paid 40euros for these two pizzas. there were four of us, but we didn't know that we had to pay 3 euros per person for sitting at the table. So 12 euros +28 for pizzas.

Great location, table along the canal with pretty flower boxes and swans. Service between the two outdoor waiters was good. Ordered the Fried mixed seafood/fish and the Spaghetti Al Busara with scampi. Both were excellent. Seafood was all very fresh. We also enjoyed very much the glasses of Prosecco Rosé Brut, and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Osteria Al Museo is a charming restaurant located next to the Lace Museum of Burano, offering a delightful dining experience in the main square. When the weather is pleasant, guests can savor their delicious menu while enjoying people-watching. The restaurant features an enclosed patio with heat lamps, providing a perfect setting by the water. Their seafood-centric menu includes appetizing options like raw shrimp and a mixed seafood grill, along with chicken and vegetable dishes.
Following a recommendation by Fillipo Zane from Atelier Cuisine Venice we sought out this restaurant on Burano. Walk by those places that claim to offer Venetian cuisine and head here. Staff and customer service were exemplary . The food was fresh and prepared with care and honesty. We went for Sarde in saor, caprese, frittua di pesce and filetto di orata. Superb , a real highlight . The owner graciously told us about his restaurant , the pride he has in his staff and food of Venice , his was the best example of all GRAZIE MILLE!!… superbly smooth Liquorice liqueur!!!

I had the best Fritto Misto of all time! Even my husband who never eat fish or seafood said it was fantastic! I highly recommend this restaurant! The staff is also super friendly and attentive! Respect! You contribute to many people's memories and great experiences!

While visiting Burano we came here for lunch… They have amazing service and a very nice menu, offering all the popular local, Italian dishes. The food we tried was made with very fresh ingredients. Their salad misto to start was excellent, especially when sprinkled with salt & pepper and then EVOO and balsamic – YUMMMM!!!! Next up was to try their table bread, the knotted bread was so soft on the inside and tasty – loved it! For entrées we tried their Ravioli di Carne Bianca and their Fusilli Pomodoro e Stracciatella – Both were fabulous! The ravioli was incredible and that buttery sauce was so tasty! We also ordered a side dish of their fries and those were incredibly tasty, crispy, and fresh! Highly suggest stopping in here – Great Eats, Service, Décor, and Flavors!!

A really beautiful restaurant. The staff couldn't be friendlier. A great selection of local dishes with an emphasis on seafood. We had a great cuttlefish and shrimp with candied celery salad too start. Spaghetti with clans to share was delicious. Finished with sea bread (orata) and cuttlefish in ink with fried polenta. Also had a nice local lager beer. Highly recommended.

Great location right on the main square! The second floor is cool and comfortable with air conditioning. The food was amazing—especially the seafood spaghetti. Jacopo, our server, was super friendly, fast, and helpful. Manager Carlo was warm and attentive. One of the best service experiences I’ve had in Venice!

Loved everything about this restaurant and after spending a week in Italy I have to say it was my favourite meal. Try the spaghetti with anchovie sauce... Omg .. Packed with flavour! The clam sauce was a close second and the sardine appetizer was delicious. Highly recommended and a food highlight of our trip.

Great restaurant in Burano - Vongole tasted ok, clams were smallest size that we ever had tho - mixed fried seafood was great just a bit too salty, better with a squeeze of lemon and their tartar sauce Great service and clean toilet!

Fantastic food and great service, we ate here on our last day of a long weekend in Venice and while we selected all our restaurants beforehand very carefully this was still by far the best food we had. The pasta dishes were outstanding and everything tasted extremely fresh and of high quality. Thei wine selection was fabulous as well and all within a reasonable price range for the area. Definitely recommend anyone to go there!

Ristorante Pizzeria Principe in Burano offers a mix of experiences according to visitors. Some find the service to be efficient but lacking warmth, with a vast menu that can make choosing difficult. However, the pizza is highly recommended for its fresh ingredients and delicious flavors. Others praise the attentive and friendly waitstaff, short waiting times even when busy, and the surprising quality of the pizza.
We dined at this great restaurant during our visit to Burano island. We ordered dishes of black risotto, spaghetti and a pizza with lasagna for three of us. The meals are really really good. Staff were friendly and supportive. It was bit crowded during the lunch time as this is one of the best spots around. Highly recommended this great restaurant.

What a refreshment! One of the best Hugo Spritz I had during my vacation in Italy. Nothing could’ve been better but a couple of glasses in hot and colorful day on Burano. I would have definitely tried the food, but I had to hurry to catch the boat back to Venice! Great service! Fair price! Thank you guys!

Yesterday we had lunch at Ristorante Pizzeria Principe while visiting Burano. We walked past several places, but this one stood out because of the colourful umbrella shaped covers over the outdoor seating. We grabbed a table and looked through the menu. They offer plenty of choices. Here is what we ordered with our personal ratings Margherita Pizza rated 3/5 Fish and Chips rated 2/5 Both dishes tasted below average. The pizza was dominated by the tomato sauce and the fish lacked crispiness and tasted a bit bland. The service, however, was very good and the staff were polite.

I ordered seafood lagsana and the flavor was pretty good. At nice weather eating outside was perfect choice. I chewed lot of seashells in lagsana, but still the floavor was more than good. Recommended for people who traveling alone or who prefer nice scenery. However, that's quite obvious that some of servers need to change their attitude.

Restaurant Galuppi is a charming spot in Burano that caters to tourists, offering attentive service and delicious food. Despite some older negative reviews, recent visitors have raved about the friendly and careful waitstaff who provided the most attentive service they've experienced in Italy. The menu features delightful dishes such as risotto with seafood, grilled sea bass, mixed seafood spaghetti, spider crab, lasagna, and more.
Great food and service all around. We were made to feel right at home without any rush, and the wait staff was kind but also talkative, answering all of our inquisitive questions. We were introduced to the small fish that Venice is famous for, and we also tried a variety of seafood dishes from their squid ink risotto to their grilled white bass. Everything was fresh and delicious. I hope to return soon! Thank you to the staff for an incredible experience. Shoutout to Pietro for the kindness and laughs!

The only positive I can add is that the portion sizes were generous. Apart from that all dishes were lacklustre, basic and not well presented. Menus came in all languages (which should’ve been a sign!) and waiters were not particularly attentive. Not that good value for money either.

We had lunch at this restaurant. The food is excellent. The service is very fast. And we were served by Agosto who was truly kind and cheerful, with his beautiful mustache! We highly recommend trying the seafood dishes, as it’s one of the island of Burano’s traditions. The homemade Prosecco is also excellent. A place to recommend in Burano! Many thanks again to Agosto for his kindness and great service. Grazie mille !

Food: Ordered the seafood risotto and seafood pasta, both cooked in white sauce (basically aglio olio). Average or decent at best, the ingredients used were clearly not fresh - prawn had abit of a stale taste and the mussels were not opened properly. However, the portions were decently sized and adequate. Service: Had the pleasure of meeting the most wonderful server! Asked him for any recommendations to eat since we simply chanced upon this restaurant, and he gladly showed us a menu with pictures and pointed to what were the best sellers. When he pointed to the picture of a risotto with mussels and clams and other ingredients, I asked if that was the “risotto with fish broth”, an item on the worded menu priced at €18. He said yes. Happily thinking this was a reasonably priced item, I happily ordered this dish. Imagine my surprise when the bill came and I found out that the risotto dish was €25 (the same price as the pasta dish)! I raised this to another waiter, who brought over the waiter whom I placed my order with. Perhaps this waiter’s speciality is not customer service, as when faced with my confusion over the pricing, he simply stated that the risotto was the same as the pasta i ordered, and it was my fault I didnt ask the price. There are two things I disagree with. Firstly, the item i ordered was not on the menu with words, but only on the menu with pictures. Why is this so? This seems like a sneaky underhanded way of charging customers a few euros more for some mediocre dish, and its not appreciated. Placing the onus on your customer to ask for the price for an item not even on the base menu seems unfair. This, coupled with the fact that when I asked if that was the risotto with fish broth (to which he replied with a resounding yes) says alot about their tactics. Secondly, there seemed no appropriate way to solve this. While i insisted that he replied yes to my earlier question about the risotto, his only reply was to keep saying that “no, i told you it was the seafood and mussels”. Fact of the matter is that he didnt, and his tone carried no indication that he was apologetic or seeking to make amends. Rather, he was insistent and stubborn and the end result was a staring competition that culminated in me paying. Funny anecdote: When he gave us the bread for the table and left, I called after him to ask if they were able to give us butter (he was still close by). To my amazement, he glared at me with such ferocity for a split second I thought I had accidentally cursed at him, before he remembered to put on his customer service face and accede to my request. Wasnt too annoyed by this but found it hilarious instead. Perhaps my bill will go towards sending this man for customer service training and communication classes.

Fritto Misto is a traditional Venetian dish consisting of a lightly floured mix of seafood that is fried in hot oil and served with lemon wedges and polenta. It can be enjoyed at various charming locations, such as WeNice near the Rialto Fish Market. While not considered trendy, these places offer warm hospitality and extraordinary food quality. Customers appreciate the generous portions and variety of fried fish offered at reasonable prices.
It's a great place to wait for your vaporetto while having some snacks and drinks. Really loved the ambience and the fish cuppa..The lasagna was well done. They have a clean loo and the best part is it's free to use, a rarity in the region..

Perfect Spot for a Quick Bite – Loved It! This isn’t a restaurant – it’s a street food bar right in front of the water bus stop, and we absolutely loved it. We didn’t have much, just a cold big beer (very refreshing) and cold water – both exactly what we needed. But the real highlight? The best Venetian bruschettas we had during our stay. Juicy, full of flavour, and topped with a generous portion of delicious ingredients. Just perfect. Ideal spot for a quick nibble before heading back to Venice. Highly recommended!

If you're looking for a place with a restroom and air conditioner but don't have much expectations for quality service then I highly recommend this place! You will be charged for service regardless of the performance 🤡. Though English is printed on the menu card DO NOT expect basic english from the staff. Staff will nod their head instead of confirming the order so you'll have to be proactive with your fullfilment and the added thrill is something priceless. Good thing they serve bread and crackers as an entry because 25euro will not get you filled, which I suppose should be expected with such small competition. To end on a positive note I highly recommend pasta as it seems reasonably priced and delicious.

I don’t usually do reviews unless I really feel something, and honestly, the food here just wasn’t good enough at first. I had to return well done Entrecote, though they did replace it and second was good. Still, I felt really uncomfortable afterwards — got unfriendly looks, like everyone was staring at me. On top of that, the bill had an extra 6 euros, probably for the bread we didn’t order (we assumed it was complimentary). I didn’t understand the language well enough to question it, and honestly, I just wanted to leave so i did not ask what was that 6 euros for. Overall, not a great experience.

Despite the charming location, our experience was quite disappointing. We waited 40 minutes for a starter and then another hour for two pizzas . While guests around us were receiving their meals promptly, we were still left waiting. Unfortunately, I can’t recommend this place. The pizza was average at best, and the local fish starter was just as mediocre.

Robert K — Google review
The food is great, fresh and tasty. Service seems a little laid back, seems normal to have the service charge, but I feel this allows the staff the lacklustre approach to service. Not just here but throughout the island. Could do with upping their game a bit, they turned away at least three tables of customers as we were sat waiting for the bill and then to pay. If you’re going to charge for service, then provide it.
David C — Google review
We were recommended this place by our tour guide, with whom they likely have some sort of commission-type of relationship. The food was good but the service was unbelievably slow. We had 1hr40mins to explore the island before the next leg of the tour. 20 minutes had passed and nobody had serviced our table, whereas all other tables already had their orders taken and food delivered. We had to wave to get their attention. When the food eventually arrived, we had to rush through it, leaving us with just 30 minutes to quickly explore the island. We regret choosing this place to eat as a result of this and feel like we were deliberately singled out. If you’re recommended this place by your tour guide, please keep in mind the risk of a slow service impeding upon your ability to explore the island in a short space of time.

Incredible dining experience tucked away in a quiet part of Venezia Mestre run lovingly by local couple. Farm to table, local produce with homemade details that were unique, fresh and delicious. The scallops with rosemary crumble on a bed of delicate pea puree was stunning. As was the squid ink risotto of the day with mullet roe: subtle yet robust all at the same time. Noteworthy cocktails, especially the cardamom gin fizz. Highly recommend this gem of a restaurant. We hope to be back one day. Thank you for our favorite meal in Italy this trip.

We were absolutely delighted! The service was outstanding and the food simply wonderful. My girlfriend and I both chose the classic menu with wine pairing, and it was perfect — we left feeling pleasantly full. Poorly rated but I was amazed by the quality of food. Fresh and tasteful. Love the pizza and risotto!! The sea bass was a bit salty and potato was undercooked but overall it was fine.

Decent restaurant. Nice enough staffs. Little space inside, you'll probably want to sit in the terrace. Charge heavily on the drinks (e.g. 3.5 EUR for a Cola), however I guess it's like that everywhere on Burano. Ordered a pizza for two, just for a very quick bite as we were not too hungry. The pizza itself tasted really lovely (albeit a bit small) but the thing it: unbeknownst to us, they charge 2 EUR/person more for "table fee". A family of 4 or 5 will be charged 10 EUR more for eating there instead of taking away!

Gelato is average. Much more of a sweets place. Lots of sweet options, and definitely good for when you have low blood sugar or a child that is close to a melt down. The staff are friendly and the prices are okay. Nothing to write home about.

The waiters are very nice. But the food is lite. I ordered a spaghetti with clam, it was so lite. My friend ordered spaghetti with inkfish, which was also lite. Besides, we have also eaten a dish of seafood. It tasted good. It costs about 20 euro per person with drinks.

GREAT ESPRESSO | AVERAGE PIZZA | TOURIST TAX We were hoping to go to Devil Pizza who were unfortunately closed for the holidays. With a hungry child on the arm we had to make a quick plan and Du & Zo was it. The host was really friendly seeing to it that we had blankets and that we were settled. The food although it arrived in good time, it was really average. I was hoping for more for the price. The espresso I had after the meal was probably the best espresso I had while in Venice. Unfortunately I too was caught out by the €2 tax per person and it's a shame no one mentioned that prior to sitting down. Ultimately €21 for 2 margaritas and an espresso (plus tax) seems a bit steep

Laguna Libre Eco Ristorante is a unique venue in Venice that combines a restaurant, live music venue, and art gallery. The restaurant offers Venetian dishes made with seasonal and local produce, with a focus on vegan-friendly options. Guests can enjoy live music performances while indulging in the veggie-focused menu, which includes both multi-course set menus and à la carte options.
What I Loved best about my stay in Venice this time was to have this Music Club around the Corner: the musicians played a lovely Crossover of Jazz and etno influences - f.e. compositions of Bregovich, Tom Waits, Mulatu Astatke. The food was delicious - great to know mostly regional and even ecological. And the staff clearly loved their Job and the music. A great relaxed and charming place right at a quiet channel near the jewish quarter in Venice.

Maybe I expected too much based on previous reviews but I got disappointed. Food was eatable but nothing more. I have not found taste balance or interesting combinations. Caponata was so-so, not bad but I do it better at home. I missed flavour and texture. Aubergine was soft , almost liquid, celery had the same texture. Not enough olives to make taste a bit more interesting. Appetiser with shrimps and sardines (said of the day, 18€) - sweet polenta with overcooked onions and only 3 small shrimps and sardines. Shrimps by itself were good, but other part of the dish is soo questionable. Like sweet porridge with boiled onions and seafood. Carbonara- ok, tuna - too much of salt , way too much, mashed potato - unexpectedly sweet and unfortunately almost cold. Pasta with see food - ok but a bit oversalted. Complimentary bread was sour and had weird texture. Menu was supposed to be available with qr code, but it didn’t . Other version of the menu (see photo) is good enough for the cheap kiosk with burgers but not for the serious restaurant. 2 appetisers, 3 main courses, bottle of wine (33€) - 140€ before tips.

As someone previously mentioned, because of the amazing review my expectations of this place were super high! But unfortunately it disappointed in almost all levels. Service was very slow, we waited 30 mins to get bread or a menu even though some tables arriving after us got menus instantly (we asked 3 times for menus) food took waaaaay too long to arrive as well. Vegan options while available, are very few because the kitchen can’t really make alternatives (I asked if they had basic grilled veggies and was told it wasn’t possible) my mom got a vegan tomato pasta which was really good, but was probably the only thing. I got the “chickpea pie” which is deceiving in the name as it was just a giant falafel that was very undercooked, but the name itself made it seem like it was a pot pie with chickpeas or something. The views and atmosphere is stunning though I have to say!!
Sabrina S — Google review
Food was amazing, the atmosphere was incredible! The staff(unfortunately, didn’t ask her name ) recommended us the Lugana wine, which was an excellent choice as well. I will give the restaurant a 5 star :) We were outside, enjoying the canal and listening life jazz music. Everything was perfect!!

Wow this is amazing an eco restaurant with beautiful products and a very good bite. The food is amazing and very good prepared. Taste is amazing and the staff can support you very well. Enjoy this wonderful menu, next to the canal in a quiet area of Venice. Come to ease and think about your awesome day of Venice at this restaurant. Thanks again for the service and we will return and enjoy your wine and food.

Really delicious vegan pasta options. The best vegan pasta dish I had in Venice. The service was exceptional and the atmosphere sitting outside was perfect, romantic with a lovely view of the sunset.

Found this after coming to Venice every year for ten years apart from Covid! Glad we did. We had aperitifs then the lasagne and a glass of wine in the small restaurant space at the front. The food was delicious but the highlight was the move into the jazz club at the back where we enjoyed just under two hours of excellent jazz music from the house band consisting of piano, trumpet, two saxophones, guitar and a great singer. We came out buzzing. I just hope more people take the trouble to find this place, it’s worth going off the usual tourist route for a great evening’s entertainment.
Bob M — Google review
The riverside spot and the jazz music are worth the visit. Usually I'm very easy to please but the food I had that day wasn't very pleasant. They have vegan/vegetarian menu which is great I would ask just for more seasoning. Maybe other foods are better, the bread and wine were good.

Ristorante Da Forner is a family-run restaurant in Burano, known for its authentic and delicious fish-based cuisine. The pasta is perfectly al dente, and the fish fillet is always fresh and flavorful. The presentation of the dishes is also exquisite. In addition to seafood, they offer bussolai pastries and risotto di go, a creamy risotto served in a broth made from fried gudgeon.
We had an incredible lunch in Burano Da Furner, just steps from the ferry on the island’s most picturesque side of lovely pastel coloured houses and a dreamy atmosphere. The staff were warm and attentive, letting us enjoy our meal at a relaxed pace. The food was outstanding and authentic, beautifully prepared, and full of local flavor. We shared raw local fish, traditional Venetian cicchetti, and a generous fried seafood platter. Alongside that, we had 1 bottle of Prosecco and 2 of Franciacorta. For the quality, quantity, and wine, the price felt more than fair. The cozy interior, with portraits available for purchase, added a charming touch. Highly recommend this hidden gem!

I like this restaurant very much. It seems run by a family. The food was authentic, the pasta was al dente and the fish filet was fresh, both dishes were full of favour. Furthermore, the food presentation was very pretty on the plate. The tiramisu was real good made with cream cheese and the sponge absorbed the coffee favour. Peoples were very nice and happy to help. In general, I highly recommend to try this restaurant instead of those on the Main Street fall into tourist trap.

The food was lovely, definitely somewhere to eat if you visit Burano. If you come in by boat, turn the opposite way they tell you to in order to find this gem. The staff were so welcoming and friendly, and were ready to direct me to where I could buy some more of the biscuits made in Burano!

To be honest, we didn't expect to eat so good in a tourist place, yet we were surprised positively! Our table was outside , beside the canal. Amazing spot! The food was very good! We tried typical Italian recipes, which they were cooked with care. The panacota dessert was amazing!

This was the best meal my husband and I had on our trip in Italy. We ordered octopus, linguine with clams, and sea bass. All the dishes we had were fresh and flavorful. The food was equally matched by the friendly staff. They were warm and welcoming to every customer. The owner was attentive, greeted everyone with a smile, and said goodbye with a wave or handshake. This place is a gem in my book!

Tucked away from the main street is the most amazing place to eat. The food is delicious, the staff are happy, friendly and have great stories to tell if you take your time to listen. It’s authentic and probably one of the highlights of our Italy trip.

I found here what I can call a small place, but with a very welcoming staff and excellent food. Ever since we sat down at the table, we received breadsticks and warm bread from the house. Very good octopus salad, excellent salmon pasta, and I've never eaten better fritto misto anywhere. Keep un doing good work guys 👏

Ai Pescatori, one of the remarkable osterie in Burano, stands out for its fish-based cuisine and renowned donut shaped bussolai pastries. Additionally, they offer a creamy risotto di go, made with a typical fish of the lagoon called fried gudgeon. Despite not being explicitly mentioned on the menu, the restaurant was open to serving zabaione upon request. The friendly staff confirmed their availability for coffee and dolce.
Such a great experience!Pasta is delicious as well as chips. Actually I don’t understand why the score is only 3.2.It deserves a better score. Btw I recommend this pasta.

We had a fantastic dining experience at Ai Pescatori in Burano! The restaurant has a welcoming atmosphere, perfectly blending authentic Venetian charm with friendly hospitality. The food was outstanding — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The seafood was especially memorable, clearly prepared with care and using the freshest local ingredients. Every dish we tried was delicious and captured the essence of Burano’s culinary tradition. The staff were attentive and warm, making us feel right at home, and the service was excellent throughout our meal. Combined with the lovely setting of Burano, it made for a truly special experience. I would highly recommend Ai Pescatori to anyone visiting Burano — whether for a relaxed lunch or a memorable dinner, it’s a must-visit spot!

While it was nice to have something gluten free to eat, the pizza was okay. The mushrooms are definitely from a can, giving an off taste. The gluten free crust is better than some, but worse than most.

Among the varied restaurants on the main drag of Burano…this establishment was appealing because the dishes appeared fairly priced for tourists. The staff were kind and service was prompt. The food was adequate..not terrible!

Got a table for drinks, they forgot to bring our sparkling water and 5 minutes after getting our drinks they started closing, taking all the tables around us while we were sitting in the middle. By the end we were sitting by ourselves in the middle of the street like morons. They should inform that they close in 10 minutes instead of taking our orders and then rushing us

We were treated badly here. The woman staff showed us a small table in a dark side even though the restaurant was almost empty. When we tried to ask her to change the table, she shouted at us and told us to stay there. Her attitude was so rude and she talked down on us. Don’t go to this place if you expect to get nice service.

Al Leon Coronato is a delightful find for anyone exploring the charming Venetian islands, particularly Burano. After a day of wandering through this picturesque locale, stumbling upon this cozy eatery was a pleasant surprise. The restaurant offers an array of traditional Italian dishes, with an extensive menu that caters to various language speakers, making it accessible for all visitors. The atmosphere at Al Leon Coronato is inviting and clean, providing a comfortable space to enjoy your meal.
The rating is not the real one. The food was very good, the service was fast. The portions were very large. The space is a bit cramped, but it is in most locations.

Had a lovely, last minute dinner here after a day of exploring the Venetian islands. We had seen that a lot of places in burano was closed so weren't expecting to be able to have dinner, then we stumbled on this little gem around the corner. Simple, traditional Italian foods with extensive language translation menu and a great variety of drinks. Some locals were also sat there too so we figured we'd give it a chance. We weren't disappointed- good portion sizes, extremely reasonable prices and flavoursome food. Delicious drinks - their aperol spritz was one of the best we'd had across 4 islands. And the Hugo spritz was divine. Forgot to take pics of dinner so took them of our empty plates instead ha! Waiting team were pleasant and friendly. Would recommend for sure. It is not a fancy upper end restaurant, but it is a good one, it served us well and I'd return to try other dishes now, so it's not to be overlooked! Thank you 😊

Don't go anywhere near this place!! Waitress is great, but the owner/manager is smug and condescending about the less than average food which is lazy cooking from the 1960s at its worst. An obscene insult to Italian cooking and ingredients, the object of the exercise is to put people off Italian cooking for life, whilst simultaneously emptying their bank accounts for the privilege! If I could give a minus score then it would have been a pleasure to do so... I am asked on here if I had breakfast, lunch or dinner - this dross does not qualify for any of them

Osteria Cicchetteria da Gigetto is a restaurant located away from the vaporetto stop, offering pleasant views and a terrace seating experience. The menu features cicchetti and while the food is good, it may not stand out compared to other options in Venice. The staff, comprised of efficient young individuals, provides satisfactory service. During a visit for lunch, guests enjoyed the peaceful location and nicely presented, albeit not extraordinary, food.
Lovely restaurant in Burano. Visited as a family of 3, we ordered cicchetteria (absolutely stunning, each one is unique and packed with flavour), pesto pasta (al Dante pasta and vibrant pesto flavour, and caprese salad (the buffalo mozzarella is to die for). Beautiful setting along the canel and service was impeccable. Must visit in Burano.

This has to be the worst experience in Venice. For context, I am a black people professional who frequently travels. My experience here was nothing short of racism by 1 particular person working here. There is an older lady serving here who had an extremely bad attitude, she dismissed my partner and I twice when asking for a table by saying "no" and walking off, so had to ask the other waiter whom politely mentioned were fully booked but could make a reservation for half an hour. When we came back we were seated by the same lady reluctantly who said we could only order from 1 page of the menu which I found strange, however when served by the other waiter he discussed various options on the menu.... Overall the food was very bland, the mussels were basically deep fried shells with no meat inside, not the best place to eat but on the day it was the only place to eat.

So many places in Venice the owners and severs are mean or just have a resting mean face (maybe it's tourist frustration?) This osteria the servers were so happy and delightful it made our Burano visit so much nicer. We asked for all seafood cichetti and they brought us 9 cichetti, 2 lemon sodas, 2 spritz and a water which came out to 51 euro. Honest price for Venice and the cichetti were very tasty. An awesome stop.

We had the gnocchi with shrimps that was in the day menu and the baccala in tecia con polenta and also 2 very tasty aperol spritz. The food was very good and seemed fresh. The location is very nice and it can get a little croudy sometimes but the view it’s worthy

Nice little spot for a quick snack when visiting Burano. There seemed to be a mix of both Italian-speaking customers and tourists. Staff were friendly and spoke English. There's only about 4 tables inside with the remaining tables on the patio. Washroom was clean and spacious as well.

We tried the local pasta with fresh seafood. It was great experience. Outside tables provide nice shadow even in hot/sunny day and the staff were friendly and nice. The dessert. They present it as a local - some cookies to be dipped in prosseco. That one I would probably skip - better buy a glass of prosseco seperately.

OMG I wished I saw the reviews before I sat down to eat! This place is THE WORSE restaurant in Italy, I swear to GOD! I had meals at the high end restaurants in Italy. They are expensive but at least the foods are delicious 😋 At This place, the price is ridiculously high and the foods tasted terrible! For example, Cozze Marinara was 16 euro, they gave me 10 small tiny mussels and tasted so bad! When I went to pay, the old grandma said to me, “Machine is broken and Cash Only!” PUT a sign on your door saying CASH ONLY then! Machine magically worked when I told her I had no cash with me. It’s very obvious that I am a tourist.

Run away from this restaurant. We made a mistake and didn't read the reviews. They were so nice before we ordered. Then they brought food we didn't order and started being unpleasant. We ordered Spaghetti Carbonara. They don't even know how the food is prepared. They brought scattered spaghetti on a plate, with a hard-boiled egg and one miniature cube of pancetta. Everything was terribly oversalted. As if a kilo of salt had fallen into a pot of spaghetti. When we returned the food, they were arrogant, vulgar and started throwing us out of the restaurant. And they wanted to pay Coperto=couvert. Don't worry and don't pay coperto. We only paid for drinks. This restaurant should be closed. I would like to give a rating of -50

In Riva bistrò is a charming spot with great music and attentive staff. Despite arriving close to closing time, the cleaning was thorough. The veggie focaccia was delightful, oozing with cheese and veggies, while the sardine dish and fries were also highly praised. The affordable prices make it an excellent choice for lunch, especially for families or large groups. The service is friendly and efficient, making ordering and paying a breeze.
We stopped here for lunch on our holiday in November. We had taken a tour over to the island and found this lovely bistro whilst walking round Burano. The location was excellent and food exceeded expectations. Great value for money. Service was very good. Highly recommended if you are visiting here.

The waiter stopped me to drink water from my own bottle, as if forcing me to buy drinks from them. Charge money for water is one thing, not allow me to use my own property is another thing. I am appalled by this unwarranted rule. No benign reason whatsoever can justify this, you either want to force sell me drinks or intentionally want to make me suffer, neither of these are the right way to treat your customer. Food tastes okay, but the service ruined it, and they charge 2.5€ for service, what a joke.

I really wanted to go to a cicchetti bar, but my parents are picky eaters, so we decided on this spot that did a bit of everything. I went with their cicchetti tasting board. There was a cool selection of different toppings, but I found the bread a bit stale. They also tried really hard to upsell us, which was a bit uncomfortable.

Ordered the vegetable focaccia, it was terrible. The bread used was extremely dense and stale (and definitely not focaccia??) and the vegetables inside were far from fresh. Your chance to get Italian food in Venice not in a tourist trap. Valid as of May 2024, if chef will leave, we never know what will be there. But if you are close to the date, hurry up to visit it. Everything with seafood is especially good, but, again, the quality of all dishes is oustanding for center if Venice and even for North Italy overall. House wine - kind of semi dry sparkling style is very nice: white and red and even prosecco looks like not from supermarket. But even simple pizza margarita - is best I tried in North Italy.

La Perla is a great pizza restaurant in Venice that serves up some of the best pizza you will ever have. The atmosphere of La Perla is very laid back and the staff are all very friendly, making it a great place to eat with family or friends. They also have a wonderful selection of dishes on their menu, including pasta, steak and salads.
We were there for a dinner. Place has good food and we could feel comfortable. We ate bruschetta (the only i made foto of), pizza with braseola and gnocchi 4 fromaggi. All with good quality.

We ordered 2 pizzas, which were very good! Besides, the happy hour cocktails was bellow avarage, small and seems like have not enough alcohol, and more ice/water. And also calling it happy hour and charge 4.5€ instead of 5€ isn't a real happy hour. And of course the sign that says that there is no service charge - they do have cover charge of 2€ (that's OK), but nothing special than all other restaurants in Italy that justify the sign.
Ofer — Google review
We stopped by for their €4 Aperol, which, while cheap, seemed to be missing enough prosecco. Overall, it was a pretty average happy hour cocktail. The place was empty, and we didn't order any food, but we were a bit put off by the personnel smoking on the guest terrace.
Edgars M — Google review
Because of the previous reviews, I decided to try this place. I enjoyed it! We sat outside, and the weather was perfect for it! I would visit again if in the area.
Melanie B — Google review
Scamming with drinks. You ask for normal Aperol, they give Spritz medium and ask for extra money €€€. I do not recommend coming here.
Reinis T — Google review
Great food and attentive service, the best pizza we had in Venice and their hospitality was amazing, serving us near closing time as we were tired from a long day of travel and making us feel like family. A great experience overall.
Myra G — Google review
The food here was excellent and the staffs were friendly. overall , the food was delicious with great flavors and presentation. However, the portion sizes were a bit smaller than expected for the price. Overall, a great dining experience, but I wish there was a bit more on the plate
SULIMAN A — Google review
We stumbled across this place while walking around - essentially getting lost and being away from the weekend crowd. We had lunch here and liked it so much we went back for dinner. The place is large, full of locals and the service is prompt and professional. There is a huge range of pizza to choose from and numerous other dishes. We ordered about 5 different pizzas and they were all very good. The pie size is around 12 - 14 inches and the crust is similar to a Neapolitan style. Toppings were flavorful. The pasta we ordered was delicious and a good sized portion. They provide breadsticks for free. Prices were very reasonable and we paid 53 euro for one antipasti, two pizzas, one pasta dish, 1/2 liter of excellent white wine, and one desert. If you’re in Venice- I would highly recommend this place.

Restaurant
Cucina Locale Al Giardino Segreto is a delightful gem that you simply must visit. Nestled in the charming surroundings of Burano, this cozy eatery offers a unique dining experience with its self-ordering system and an inviting atmosphere enhanced by its quirky interior design. The menu features fresh local dishes, including delectable seafood lasagna and risotto, as well as crispy fried calamari and patatine fritte—each served on edible plates made from bread that taste like salty crackers!
Found this place on the Maps listing, and I am passing further the good rating! The place was cosy, food simple but great. Keep in mind it is self order place, but other than that great! Unique interior adds additional features to the vibe. Recommended!
Martynas J — Google review
Food was mediocre at the very best. A place to rest with some food to fill the stomach at a relatively fair price. Nothing more. Too much sauce for Lasagna, too dry for risotto, and fried seafood was small portion and not fresh. The good thing was that there were actual fish chunks in risotto and lasagna, and nothing was too salty or too horrible. Okay to eat.
Huang Y — Google review
Friendly and quick service with pizza and chichetti. Also a legit gelato dispenser. They also have beer and wine. Order at the counter.

Amazing. Honest local restaurant. excellent tasting food, HUGE pours of wine, very very nice staff....and VERY reasonable pricing!! My family and I will be back. Thank you!
James R — Google review
I recently dined at Cuccina Locale, Al Giardino Segreto in Burano, and while the experience was pleasant overall, it left me with mixed impressions. The atmosphere was charming, with a warm setting, but unfortunately, the food didn’t quite live up to the high expectations set by the prices. The menu had some enticing options, and the presentation of the dishes was lovely, suggesting a lot of care and attention to detail. However, the actual flavors fell short. The bruschetta, for example, came with bread that was hard and tasted stale, lacking that freshness you would hope for. The croquettes were more disappointing, not delivering the flavors or texture I was looking for. On a positive note, while the food wasn’t extraordinary, we did not experience any gastrointestinal issues afterward, which was reassuring. Overall, the experience wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t particularly memorable or worth the premium prices. If you’re in Burano and looking for a dining spot, this restaurant might work if you’re not too focused on culinary excellence, but don’t set your hopes too high.

Was on Burano for a tour and stopped in here for cicchetti and prosecco. Also had an espresso and a cookie. Staff was LOVELY. Food was good and the back seating area was super cute and quiet. Would definitely come back for what we had.

Food is nice, tried seafood lasagne and risotto, the plates can be eaten too. Atmosphere, can’t change much because of the tight space. Friendly staff.

Amazing local food with fresh meals . We had the fried calamaris and the patatine frite 👌🏼 Top highly recommend ! You can even eat the plate made out of bread. It tastes like salty crackers 😊

I dropped in early for a latte and croissant, thinking it was a tiny bakery...surprise! The courtyard is lovely, the atmosphere is friendly and the croissant melted in my mouth. An oasis to be sure!

Great little Tapas bar on the canal. Friendly service with tasty tapas. Sitting outside in the back garden (they grow their own vegetables) in the sun during winter was delightful.

Good selection of tapas you can choose. Delicious food and drinks. We have a great afternoon here.

Good little Tapas bar, friendly staffs and reasonable prices. Hall is very small, but they have outside sitting in the back which is shaded. Very clean restaurant room.

We’ve ordered 3 cicchetti. The only good one was tuna on black bread. The other two (shrimp with onion and fried mozzarella and prosciutto are not worth it). With so much onion I couldn’t feel the shrimp but I guess it was obvious and my mistake ordering it, fried cicchetti is basically dough with a thin slice of mozzarella Coffee was good, so I place 3 ⭐️

Trattoria Pizzeria Caffe' Vecio is a charming restaurant located in Burano, just a short boat ride away from Venice. The warm and welcoming atmosphere immediately sets the tone for a delightful dining experience. The owner, Fabio, along with his attentive staff, ensures that every detail is taken care of to make guests feel at home. The menu features incredibly fresh dishes, including delectable fish tapas and a must-try fig cake that leaves a lasting impression.
The food is good here, we had fried fish plateau, spaghetti with squid ink, spaghetti bolognaise and spaghetti with sea food and their famous biscuits. The food came pretty fast and the waiter was nice.

we're sitting inside and saw some bread drop on the floor, next to the blue glasses. They picked them up and put them back into a bread basket. YUK! Guess it's better not to know what happens to your food sometimes.

Far from your typical tourist menu, this corner spot overlooking a piazza serves up delicious food and great service. Good variety on the menu and even entrees are well portioned. Would come back here again!
Arevik F — Google review
Fantastic food in the centre of Burano. We had the fried sardines (with a side of "French fries" which were fried thin cut potato, I was a bit skeptical when they were suggested but yes order these) and lasagne both were exceptionally good. The menu is in multiple languages and the waiter that we had spoke good English. There is a small cover charge (1,8 euro each) which is on the menu. This was in a nice out door setting in the middle of Burano. Easy to find and well worth the visit. Highly recommend eating here.
Quentin B — Google review
Nice looking place at the square, so we decided to celebrate our engagement there. At first, we read through the menu and decided to get drinks only, maybe dessert. Although there was nobody inside, and at the time maybe 5 tables occupied, nobody noticed. So we picked our seats and sat down. In about a minute or so waiter came and asked if we’d like to eat. As soon as we told him we are there probably for drinks only, he immediately asked us to move to a different area of the restaurant, as “our” seats were for lunch customers only. (No sign or obvious hint to assume such thing). As politely as he asked us to move, we stood up and left and took our business to much nicer establishment. Not surprised the place was almost empty.

So, I dined here for lunch with my two cousins when we were visiting Venice and Burano together. The food was delicious! I ate the best pasta, with the best sauce of my life! And the service was really incredible, the servers went above and beyond. However – I was really disappointed to find a hair in my food that was not my own. Once I found it, I felt quite repulsed and could not finish my spaghetti, having to leave about half of it. This was really disappointing but I am sure that it was a one off incident, and despite it I still enjoyed what I did eat of my meal.

Great food, great drinks and Great service! Very inviting of the outside seating area and wonderful seafood selections ! We stopped by to having lunch, very friendly staffs speaking enough English for you to order your meals! We hope we can visit this little island and this restaurant again!

Let me start with the warmth and happiness we received as soon as we approached the restaurant, Fabio (the owner), his family and employees super respectful and 100% attention to details. Their food is extremely fresh, from their cocktails, to their fish tapas all the way to they heart melting FIG CAKE (i wanted to steal the recipe!!!) no joke the BEST experience by far. They let us sit were we wanted, we love a specific cocktail and they made it for us, introduced us to an unfiltered local beer, brought us some tapas for my mom and myself to share & finally a fig cake (you’ll want to take home) Please have in mind these islands depend 100% on tourism and the pandemic hit them hard so please go support and tip these lovely people. Thank you Fabio, Emely and the team.

Bar Corte Terranova is a charming spot nestled near the port area of Burano, making it an ideal stop for travelers exploring this picturesque island. During our visit, we enjoyed a delightful light lunch featuring a refreshing Sardinian beer and Prosecco, while our daughter opted for a Coke. The highlight was undoubtedly the Panino Prosciutto Formaggio—though made with Mortadella, which I actually preferred!
Great little bar near the port area of Burano. We came for a little while in motoscafe tour from Venice. We stopped here for a light lunch. I had a Birra (Ichnusa, Sardinian) my wife had a Prosecco and my daughter a Coke. I had the Panino Prosciutto Formaggio (which was actually made with Mortadella (which I actually prefer but FYI). My wife and daughter each had a Pepperoni and a Spicy Salami Pizzas which were Really Good! Crunchy crust and meats tasted great. Service was very good and they let me try the beer prior to ordering so tgat was nice. A very pleasant tasty lunch in Burano.

Omg , can't prize these place enough 🥰, stuff absolutely amazing. Delicious coffee, and cicchetti to die for!!!! I'm not joking, we had them for a breakfast they were freshly prepared and just melting in our mouths. Must admit we try cicchetti every day in different places and these one was a winner 🏆

One of the possibilities to get some food. Not so much options and quite expensive I would say. Small pizza (smaller then normal small pizza) costs 12.5€. On the end it is average. They got some “pizza” and other Italian stuff. Not so difficult to find a place to sit there and you can sit beside of boats and canal.
Okurka S — Google review
A beautiful bar with seating next to the canal not far from the lace museum. It was the most delicious cicchetti that I experienced during my entire stay (including those I tasted in the city of Venice during a street food tour!) The food presentation was impeccable and the addition of fresh red pepper corns gave an excellent dish the edge. Beautiful fresh Venician food and a delicious draft beer too!
Nicola E — Google review
Perfect place to rest after walking around Burano. The cicchetti were made to order and were absolutely delicious! We liked it so much, we had to buy more when we needed to circle back to pick up a water thermos we had left behind. Super nice people too!
Doris Y — Google review
I went to Burano with my wife with the expectation to find tasty cicchetti and we hit the jackpot with this restaurant. We tried other places before but they either didn't have cicchetti or it didn't look that great. The price is reasonable for the quality of the food. The cicchetti are freshly made, very nice looking and very tasty. The waiters are very hospitable and the scenery is also very nice. Would recommend this place to anyone

Best pasta, best pizza served by best professional service, topped up with a la carte cooling deserts. If on Burano island, do not miss it.

Fantastic experience and the food was amazing. We had wanted seafood risotto but the place we wanted to go to was closed. It wasn't on the menu but when we asked the staff, they were actually able to make some! And it was one of our highlight meals! Staff was very nice and gave good recommendations as well

Fresh Scallops with a olive oil reserved for dipping bread into. Al dente spaghetti tangled with sweet, plump seafood in a whisper of garlic-chili oil. Panna Cotta was silky. Vanilla bean, chocolate dusting, just-set perfection. The best meal ive eaten after visiting Rome and Florance. Decadent, delicious, done.

A store with great taste on both decor and food. You can tell they care about ingredients. The menu is updated daily with fresh caught of the day. The staff are easygoing. I’d come back just for the way they make you feel welcome and the higher standards of freshness. Highly recommended.

Food was very bad. The ravioli tasted like they'd bought at nearby store and poorly cooked: ravioli were swimming in terrible mixture of water and oil. The burger was like like Lego, but in a bad way: the bun was not fresh, the cabbage was carelessly thrown on, and what is worse the meat patty had a musty odor and felt like it was either cooked a couple of days ago or poorly prepared semi-finished product.
