When exploring the culinary landscape of Dawson City, one name consistently rises to the top: BonTon & Company. Since its debut in 2021, this queer-owned gem has quickly garnered acclaim as one of Canada's best new restaurants, earning accolades from prestigious sources like Air Canada and OpenTable. Diners rave about their creative and beautifully presented dishes that rival those found in major urban centers.
Excellent small plates restaurant two sittings 6 and 8pm, excellent charcuterie board, delicious chicken croquettes, filo and ricotta pie, the pork all excellent with a great wine by the glass selection, we eat at the bar and saw some amazing cocktails being made. The team are very efficient and welcoming.

My wife and I stopped in for drinks on a Thursday night, and we loved it. The hibiscus whiskey sour and orange margarita were creative, beautifully crafted, and delicious. The cheesecake was excellent. We liked it so much that we came back the next morning for brunch. For brunch, we had braised beef, charcuterie, chilaquiles, mushroom & cheese sandwich, and sweet bread. Then, we returned in the evening for more drinks and food. The wonton soup and corn ribs were fantastic. Reservations are required for dinner, and they fill up days in advance.

Best meal in Dawson city! Chef and service was amazing. Make reservations as they book out. We will be back. Sending our love from Tampa.
Mrkamraman P — Google review
Out of the 3 establishment i dined at here in beautiful Dawson City, this gets the "gold" star. Ranging from baked snacks to full dinner service (reservations required). We had the beef beet sandwich and pork tacos and wow! Props to Georgia the outstanding chef. Fully loaded with both flavour and quantity, you don't want to miss Bonton and Company. Priced very fairly and even below competition.

i was searching for a morning espresso drink- this is exactly what i needed. they also do lunch and dinner- attention to detail here is amazing- a great coffee stop BUT - so much more - you can eat and drink here all day. love it !

This place has limited seating and has a unique rustic look with interesting features. Great place to get specialty breakfast items like pastries and lattes. Lunch menu includes boards and gourmet sandwiches at a very decent price. I would definitely go back..
Sylvain D — Google review
The food was delicious. Every dish was full of interesting flavour combinations and better then we expected. Make reservations they were full both nights we were there. If I could give it more stars I would. My only regret is we are passing through and won’t be able to dine there again.

A local lady in town recommended I try this place, and I just loved it!!! It was the perfect balance between elegant and cutesy, they have a coffee bar, or you can also order lunch and sit at whichever table and enjoy it. Charcuterie boards are my weakness, and I really loved the Local Charcuterie that they serve! I also got an iced latte with honey, and if you get it for here they put it in a cute glass cup with a metal straw. I just really loved the vibe and sense of artsy elegance that went with this meal! And honestly the prices really weren’t too bad either. My whole meal including the latte was only about 26 CA dollars. Highly recommend this hidden little gem of a brunch spot in Dawson!💖

had a wonderful experience at Triple J. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, making sure that both I and my service animal were well taken care of. As a businessman from Fairbanks, Alaska, visiting Dawson City, I truly appreciated the warm hospitality and the reasonable accommodations provided. The housekeeping staff was amazing, coming by every morning to check if I needed anything. I also want to give recognition to the family for the legacy they've established here; it’s something that will surely be cherished for generations to come. I highly recommend Triple J to anyone visiting Dawson City.❤️

Food was pretty good, it came in big portions, staff were very attentive and nice. The place is quite busy on the weekend.

A bit further from downtown that other hotels, but still an easy walk. Rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable (and have AC). We were able to check in early which was very nice.
Waz — Google review
We ate here first on a recommendation. The fish and chips were heavenly and not too pricey. Went back the second day and the waitress took our order and we waited and waited. Almost an hour later she comes to the table and says she LOST our order! She "rushed" a second order which came out in about another 20 minutes. Not too many dining options in Dawson City, so give this one a try for the food. Might want to follow up on the service.

Very good burger! Nice portions and very good service. If you’re looking for a nice home cooked meal stop by.

Pan of Gold Pizza Shop in Dawson City is a great spot to grab a quick and delicious meal, whether you're on the go or looking for a place to sit down and dine. The menu offers an array of pizza options, from classic slices to specialty pies like the Great Canadian Miner and Meat Bonanza. The restaurant's unique decor features action figures and comic/cartoon toys that add to its quirky charm.
Very good pizza and wish you great success as a new and home made sourdough maker!!!

Cool, local hangout with friendly locals and a great service manager. No draught but a good variety of beers/ciders available. Food prices are reasonable and the local vibe is far superior to most of the tourist-geared bars and eateries that seem to have lost their sparkle in recent years.

Donair poutine Nova Scotia donair meet with a house made gravy . Lots of flavour. Actual cheese curds . Service is great the waitress was very friendly. Lots to look at in this place

We had a long day driving and it was like the oasis for us starving souls. The energetic and beautiful bartender created numerous off-the-menu cocktails for us and they were all tasty and got us tipsy! Finger food was great too but we were too hungry basically gobble them up. All the figurines on the wall brought back childhood memories too A cozy atmosphere of Dawson
HJ M — Google review
Had an awesome Hawaiian pizza and service by Brie. I loved the flavors in the pizza sauce which was not your typical bland tomato sauce. The crust was terrific with perfectly cooked and again a unique slight sweetness to it. The toppings could have been a tiny bit more plentiful such as the pineapple but overall the blend of flavors was excellent and ratios ok but I thought the onions were overly generous. The bacon was crispy and while I prefer a ball of sausage (sausage bomb) over the crumbly sausage the sausage was flavorful. Beer selection was excellent but not written down and only displayed by cans and bottle on a shelf so I had to take a picture of them all and go back to my table and that worked. Brie was very professional and skilled. She was energetic, friendly and welcoming. She provided her honest opinion on what she likes which I appreciate being a first time visitor. She was running between the take out and dine in areas with skill and she always checked in on us and was very attentive and anticipatory of our needs. Atmosphere scored lower because it is cramped and the seating was limited. Some folks had to wait. We did not. Highly recommend and will return.
Michele B — Google review
I always make time to get my pizza when coming into Dawson. Great service from the bartender, Brie. She is very lively pleasant character that brings the pub to life. The locals that stop by are as well. Great blend of tourist and locals. Three big screens with all sports including wrestling with a decor to help bring back some great memories.

Ordered pizza for takeout on the counter where they have general store items too.The lady at the counter was very rude. She was nice to the other caucasian woman customer who was ahead of us in line but probably she thought people of color don't deserve to be treated with basic respect.I didn't know I would be treated like an unwanted customer otherwise I wouldn't have given tip at the time of placing order. There was anyways no option to skip tip on their payment terminal. By the way Pizza was average and we had stomach pain after eating it. Its ridiculous that tip is expected on takeout orders but she can't give basic respect to customers. If you are an Asian reading this review, then I recommend avoiding this pizza place unless there is no other option.
Vaibhav V — Google review
Ate here three times while in the area. Had the Maple bacon wings, Philly pizza, Canadian pizza, Pepperoni pizza, and garlic parmesan wings. Everything was delicious. Very fair prices. Employees are very friendly. They also sell a wide variety of snack, coffees, soft drinks, candy and even liquor. Great decor, lots of vintage toys from the 80s to look at.

Despite the unfavorable feedback from people seeking metropolitan experiences, it should be noted that this establishment is situated in a secluded location, roughly 35 hours away from Vancouver. Positioned at the terminus of the road, it's truly remarkable that they provide such exceptional cuisine crafted by outstanding servers, chefs, and proprietors. Their menu not only offers nutritious choices but also presents impeccably cooked dishes brimming with taste. Personally, I highly recommend sampling their dumpling soup.
This place is so cool and not what you’d expect in a small dusty town. It’s part of the small yet very diverse food offering in Dawson City. It closes as 8pm and can get busy with diners & take away orders - we arrived at 6 and it was empty but from 6.30 it was absolutely packed! The food is modern Asian fusion. The Bahn-Mi Nachos was sensational- all the flavours of Bahn Mi served in a nachos style. The cold Laarb noodles were perfect on a hot day. Our fellow tour guest also enjoyed some of the other dishes on the menu.
Gustav — Google review
Despite the negative reviews from individuals seeking big city experiences, it's important to remember that this establishment is located in a remote area, approximately 35 hours away from Vancouver. Being situated at the end of the road, it's truly remarkable that they offer such fantastic food prepared by exceptional servers, cooks, and owner operators. Their menu not only offers healthy options but also showcases perfectly prepared dishes bursting with flavor. Personally, I highly recommend trying their wonton soup. The broth is so delectable that if given the opportunity, I would happily be hooked up to an automatic feeding machine just to savor it continuously.

Awesome spot! Food was flavorful and tasty!!! Great vegetarian options. Was here for the Yukon River Quest, went there both nights for dinner. Had the Cold Satay Bowl (w Tofu), Vegetarian Spring Rolls and Northern Style Curry (w Tofu).

Authentic Thai food in Dawson city. Couldn’t have been more surprised by this rare gem. Just opened 1.5 months ago. The presentation and ingredients are real Thai stuff. Love the coriander leaves and bean sprouts and sauce. The chef Ross and friend Toronto and is a trained French chef. Spent spent years in Asia and fell in love with Chiang Mai. Eat with your eyes and taste buds and stomach and you will not be disappointed. The yellow curry, and appetiser were really feast for us.

Lovely little place that just opened up in Dawson, small in size but big in flavour with a great selection of dishes from Thailand and a few other places.
William H — Google review
We were happy to find a place open as there were few options on a Monday night. They were slammed, so there was quite a wait to order, but the server kept us watered up while we waited. I gave 3 stars for service because they were definitely understaffed; however, the servers all seemed to be doing their best. We both ordered what was billed as northern Thai curry with vegetables and chicken. They were out of rice, so we had it with rice noodles. I love northern Thai curry because, in my experience, it doesn't contain coconut milk and is very savory. The dish at Annabelle's was very sweet, made with coconut milk, and skinny on the vegetables. However, it was served with a very tasty pickled red cabbage (I think) on top. Otherwise, this was a pretty disappointing dish.
Alison K — Google review
On a brief trip through Dawson City we had one of the most delicious and memorable meals of our lives!! The Red Curry was perfectly prepared, hot, delicious, generous in size with flavors that made me think I was back in Thailand. And the Spicy Peanut Satay Cold Noodle Bowl was over-the-top fresh, delicious and filling with just the right about of kick. Wow! This place is amazing! Definitely check it out. (Wish I lived closer.)
Nancy A — Google review
I wandered in during the weekend's Discovery Days festivities and the town was packed with out-of-town folks like me. After walking through the town I settled on Annabelle's Noodle House for a light dinner. I had the Northern Style with tofu and was NOT disappointed. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was welcoming and my wait person had perhaps the most original and colorful sense of style - so much so that others stopped to chat a while about their outfit. Dawson City itself is a beautiful town with welcoming, friendly folks. And this small noodle house just adds to the charm! Thanks for the good food and good conversation!

Klondike Kate's in Dawson is a must-visit restaurant with excellent food and service. Their menu offers a wide selection of dishes made with local ingredients. One standout dish is the Alberta lamb, which received high praise from customers. Another must-try is their delicious tin roof pie that perfectly balances sweet and salty flavors, as well as chewy and crunchy textures. The staff at Klondike Kate's are amazing, making the dining experience even better.
Klondike Kate's is a must while you are in Dawson! The food and service are great! The menu has a great sprinkling of local ingredients and there is a lot to chose from. Greek restaurant
Pub
Nestled in the heart of downtown Dawson, The Drunken Goat Taverna is a delightful Greek restaurant that has quickly become a local favorite. With its spacious 90-seat capacity and recently unveiled outdoor patio, it offers an inviting atmosphere for both lunch and dinner. Guests can indulge in a diverse menu featuring classic dishes like chicken souvlaki, which rivals even the best offerings from Toronto's Danforth Avenue.
Food was great! Had the chicken souvlaki meal and it was delicious! They weren’t shy with the sauce either! Calamari tasted great as well! Definitely recommend! Server was great, however no A/C and the doors were open to the indoor dining area so lots of mosquitos unfortunately. Overall, really great place to eat at when in Dawson!
Zanna H — Google review
Quirky little Greek restaurant. Cash only. Had a lamb Gyro with side Greek salad and DW had a chicken wrap. Taziaki sauce was delicious as was the food. Food came out quick-reasonably priced.
David W — Google review
Got there early enough to nab a table out on the front porch. Had the ribs and souvlaki. Both delicious! Rib meet was falling off the bone. Good portions too. Also loved their way of doing potatoes, boiled then fried (I think) for a half potatoe you could pick up and bit through the Krispy outside. Had a great beer too. Happy a local recommend Drunken Goat.
Justin M — Google review
Delicious food in a quirky atmosphere. Fits well with Dawson's quirkiness. Large portions, enough to share or have leftovers. Gets really busy at dinner time. Reasonable prices.
Ellen — Google review
We visited Dawson City for Discovery Days in August and had dinner here around 5 pm. The small but charming place quickly filled up quickly so I'm glad we arrived early. We had a nice booth by the window and our host was friendly and funny. We shared the mixed appie platter and had chicken souvlaki and lamb souvlaki with soft drinks. (D.C. is a Pepsi town, no Coke.) The portions were generous and beautifully prepared. I don't usually like lamb but their's was delicious! I wish we'd had room for desert but we were full. We left feeling satisfied for a reasonable price. The menu calls it Billy Goat's Pub so I think it may have been renamed at some point. Either way, the food was delicious.
Rina L — Google review
Absolutely delicious food, I've adored Greek food since I was young and finding some here on my trip to Dawson was a real treat. I expect I'll be eating there again before I leave. Highly recommended.

If you're trapped in Dawson City on a Holland America trip, this is the town's hidden gem! This place has legit good food. We ordered the chicken souvlaki. It was tender, flavorful chunks of chicken with a side of tasty rice. The Caesar salad was fresh and the dressing had good flavor. We also ordered the appetizer sampler, which was a heaping portion of shrimp, spanokpita, dolmades and Greek salad with pita and tzatzki sauce. It was all tasty. You won't go wrong.

I’m from Chomedey, Laval, Quebec, home of authentic Greek Restaurants. I must say that this chef goes above and beyond on all aspects of quality. I highly recommend the lamb or chicken brochette. Restaurant
Sourdough Joe's is a delightful establishment with delectable cuisine and amiable service. The dining area boasts an innovative decor of diverse currency, showcasing creativity. However, some tables were found to be sticky, likely due to residue from the morning's breakfast. Despite this minor setback, Sourdough Joe's merits a solid rating of 9/10. Its generous portions leave patrons unable to finish their meals, highlighting the restaurant's commitment to providing ample servings.
I was so happy we decided on Sourdough Joe's for something to eat! I had the fish & chips. They had 3 options for fish: cod, halibut & salmon. They were out of halibut, so I opted for salmon & am I ever glad I did! It was AMAZING! It was so good we decided to go there 2 more times during our 5 day visit to Dawson City. We went back another day with the grandchildren (ages 4 & 2) & we got them the chicken fingers. One order was more than enough for the 2 kids. We also ordered a caesar salad, which was pretty good! The 3rd time we stopped there, I HAD to get the salmon again. The staff was pleasant, the service was good & it is kid friendly. There is lots of seating both inside & out. The washrooms were clean. I didn't really check out the parking situation, though. We were walking each time we visited the restaurant. It's DEFINITELY worth eating here! Good size portions. Speedy service, delicious food.

Local eats wirh several neat options as well as Yukon/ BC brews. We chose their outdoor patio as the weather was sunny 🌞. Brews nice and cold. Salmon eats (one dish fried and one grilled) were generous. They hit the spot with zero leftovers! Seive fast and friendly.
Ellen S — Google review
I went there to get the fried chicken take out. They were out. So I had read the online menu and saw Philly Cheese steak. Nope, we don't have that anymore. OK, give me the breaded spareribs. Big globs of breading and some mystery meat. Disgusting. That, a side order of fries and can of coke was almost 50.00 bucks. That doesn't include the tip.
Tim C — Google review
It was ok. They were closing for the season so they were out of some stuff. Service was decent and the food was good and fresh.
Vanessa B — Google review
We asked the waitress for a beef patty for our dog without any seasonings, just plain. She refused saying that they don't serve dogs. We explained that the dog would not eat near the restaurant. Another waitress came and explained to the other waitress that they can cook a beef patty. The patty came with ketchup and mustard and they charged us for the full hamburger combo price of $26. I ordered a beef burger sandwich that was new on the menu. We sat at a picnic table across the street and I noticed that they forgot to include the patty in the sandwich. They had to re-do the burger sandwich with a patty. Service was extremely poor. One patty, sandwich combo and one fish and chips plus 2 cans of drink cost more than $100.
Alain P — Google review
Really good burgers and fries — generous serving sizes! They also offer salmon and halibut and cod. Seating is comfortable and the staff is the best! We have been in Dawson twice and have eaten here twice. You can count on not leaving disappointed.

Very good fish and chips 🩷✨️ Salmon and cod for good value. Nice terrace and good service 👍

We stopped here for lunch after returning from driving the dempster to Tuk and had the cod and halibut burgers. They were excellent and we like the light batter on the fish. Service was friendly.

Food, service was great! Ate there twice and both times was great! They need more places like this in this town.

Great food! We ordered the eggs Benedict and two eggs and hash fries or French browns with beans and bannock bread. Bannock bread was like a fried biscuit and the beans were like a cold chili served in a shot glass. That may not sound great, but I was really into it and wanted a second shot of beans. Sorry, no pictures. I guess we were too hungry. Also enjoyed the twangy country music.

Excellent breakfast place and just an amazing old west ambience. The service was prompt, professional and friendly. The waitress checked up on us repeatedly. The food came quickly and it was delicious. We went for breakfast. Prices were reasonable.

Great food and very accommodating of my gluten intolerance. Server was very nice and speedy even though it was only her! Loved my latte, and I'll definitely be back.

Fantastic food, fantastic service, fantastic portions and great prices. Even had some vegan options for my nephew. Servers were all excellent and friendly.

One of the few places in Dawson open all year round, and yet the food is still very good. Service can be slow when the place gets busy, but it's understandable.

If this pizza place was in my city is be there every week. Traditional Italian style pizzas and some creative ones as well. We had the carbonara pizza and the one with arugula, prosciutto, and honey. They also made just plain cheese for the kids. Joe himself served us and he was awesome too. Good wine selection too. Highly recommend!

A friend and I were visiting for the day and decided to eat at Joe's Pizza, so glad we picked this bustling little place! Not only was the pizza amazing but the manager was too. We planned on take out but ended up staying and enjoying his company while we indulged at this delicious spot! 10/10 would recommend!

Bruce really knows how to make a pizza. He was very precise with the amount of cheese and sauce on all three pies I ordered. He kindly offered to take my pizza boxes out to my car and then even put me inside my car and buckled me in. I am very pleased with my experience at Joe Wood’s

Yesterday we stopped in and tried the potato/bacon/leek pizza. Might sound like a strange combo, but it was fantastic! So, we decided to go back today and try the calzone. However, the pear/bleu cheese pizza called out to us and we we ordered that instead. It was delicious!! On top of that, Joe is the nicest guy🙂. If we lived here, we'd be regulars!

Great new pizza shop with friendly helpful staff serving thin crust perfectly smoked creative pizzas. Made with fresh ingredients giving a nice balance of flavour and texture. Suggest the Notorious P.I.G.

Jamaican restaurant
Island Eats is a lively restaurant that offers a diverse range of tropical flavors. The establishment is known for its dedication to showcasing the rich and varied cuisine of the islands. Customers have praised the wonderful service and food, with many considering it to be the best dining option in Dawson. While some have noted that prices can be on the higher side, they acknowledge that this is common for food in the area due to logistical challenges.
Best food we had in Dawson and best meat we had in the north! Cute little Jamaican-style restaurant, very clean, with amazing and quick service and friendly staff. The jerked chicken was super tender and delicious. Would absolutely recommend and come back anytime!!
Juliane S — Google review
We had the jerk chicken. It was very good. The coconut rice is amazing. I had that, my husband had rice with peas. Both so good. Give it a try. So worth it!
Joni R — Google review
Go figure: great Jamaican food in Dawson City, a family restaurant with Mum cooking up a storm in the kitchen. Best curried goat I have ever tasted comes heaped with coconut rice. The pepper beef was also delicious. I ordered the jerk pork which was a little sweet for me but that’s just a matter of preference - if sweet and spicy is your gig, you will love it. One of our party ordered jerk chicken but he wolfed it down too fast for me to snag a taste. I just wish we had time for me to taste the oxtail - that was definitely a missed opportunity. And don’t get me started on the lovely family that runs the restaurant…. Worth going just to be welcomed by them! The delicious food was a bonus. Thanks so much!
Jackie S — Google review
Oh, hey. This place was amazing! The very tasty and pleasantly-spiced jerk chicken, perfectly fried plantains, deliciously seasoned rice, crisp green salad, and, for dessert, the lovely gizzada coconut tart — all were so very, very good. Plus, the owners were welcoming and talked about the dishes being served. Such a lovely experience. If you have never had Jamaican food, please try it. The food at this restaurant is made with such love and care.

Island Eats is a true gem in Dawson City! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Kasey, Nico, their wonderful family, and the entire staff treated me like one of their own. Their friendliness and hospitality made the experience unforgettable. The food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with love. Whether you're just passing through or staying for a while, I highly recommend this place to any tourist looking for a great meal and genuine local hospitality. Thank you all for such a memorable visit – I’ll definitely be back! ❤️

Food is delicious!! We got the curried goat and jerk chicken to share and loved both. The service is great and you feel like you're eating real homestyle Jamaican food - in Dawson of all places! Highly recommend.

Incredible food. Truly the most delicious thing I have eaten for quite some time. I had the jerk chicken which was out of this world with plantain and coconut rice. My friend had peppered beef which was also excellent. Go. Go here and forget the other place. Convince your friends

16La Taqueria

Taco restaurant
La Taqueria in Dawson is renowned for its outstanding cuisine and unbeatable flavors. The owner, a person of Mexican descent, not only delivers mouthwatering dishes but also creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere. This hidden treasure offers a variety of delectable salsas and pickled onions at their salsa bar, all complimentary to enhance your meal. While vegetarian options may not be explicitly stated on the menu, La Taqueria gladly accommodates such requests.
A good place to eat nutritious food with the family. We got taco bowls filled with tasty veggies, black beans and brown rice and them topped them with extra avocado, tomato and onions and some medium spicy sauce and lots of fresh lime. The kids got quesadillas with cheese and beef brisket and pork on the side. The service was friendly and accommodating.

As a tourist visiting from Alaska, I had a wonderful experience here in Dawson City, Yukon. Jude was incredibly friendly and made me feel right at home. The organic, fresh-squeezed orange juice was the highlight—so refreshing and full of natural flavor. I also had a burrito that was delicious and satisfying. The staff were all very warm and welcoming. I would highly recommend this place to anyone traveling through. Great food, great people, and great vibes
Paul N — Google review
Some of the worst tacos I've ever had, the beef was at least 50% fat, and there are pretty much no toppings. Plus, their conversion for USD to CAD is 1 to 1...
Noah D — Google review
The food is good and fresh. The service was excellent. There were a couple of things they had run out of or weren't on the menu, but Jude was able to find work arounds with ingredients on hand. Jude said the most popular item is the burrito, and they are big. They have several types of meat and veggies. They can customize most anything. They also have gluten-free and vegetarian options. There is very limited seating inside, just a bar/counter with 3 stools, and a couple of cafe tables outside. But there is a park across the street so don't let that stop you.
Traci T — Google review
No chicken available, so had the pulled pork. 2 tacos, maybe 4.5" each. Threw them out after 2 bites. Completely flavourless meat. No marinade or BBQ sauce (though hot sauce was available). They came in a takeout container and there was 3/4" of water in the bottom from the meat making the taco a doggy mess. Do not recommend.
Theresa S — Google review
Generally best when people of the ethnicity are making the food of that ethnicity, and this place is a testament to that. As an example, though I find it surprising to learn there is a large Thai community in Fairbanks, given that there is, it is not surprising to find excellent Thai food.. I don’t know if a Mexican has ever been to Dawson, but there certainly aren’t any who live there, so probably it’s best to leave the Mexican cooking to more southerly regions where they reside. This is more of an impersonation of a taco shop than a taco shop. I’m just going to leave the review at that and you can conclude what you will.

Tiny place, large gem of a find! Amazing citrus marinated meats & homemade tortillas. Burritos are huge! Food is delicious
