I stumbled upon this place while I was walking down the street to go get fishing lures. I noticed a lady rolling out fresh pasta. It’s a very serious cuisine place that you have to make reservations for. Well worth the investment.

Ludwig’s was a memorable highlight of my Alaska fishing trip vacation, a perfect way to savor the final moments before returning to the hustle and bustle of northern Virginia and the Beltway.

Needing a place for dinner for our one night in Sitka I researched and selected Ludwigs Bistro. With large appetites my wife and I reserved bar seats with a view of the kitchen and we both agreed the food, service, and experience were as good as any place we’ve eaten. With so many delightful options, the menu offered and we accepted four courses. Our first courses: house-made-arancini in pomodoro sauce were the perfect texture and flavor and pan-seared scallops had the perfect sear and lemony and bacon flavor. Our second courses included a small Caesar salad featuring rich anchovy flavor and the house specialty clam chowder that included a smokiness that this New Englander found to be a pleasant surprise. The main dishes featured the house made fresh pastas: Sicilian Pesto, pappardelle win a combination of red and pesto sauces and the Elk and Truffles filled pasta tube featuring sage butter and Oregon truffles. Both pastas were cooked perfectly and their respective flavors were unique and rich. Amazing. Final course was a shared piece of pistachio cheese cake featuring imported Italian pistachio cream. A wonderful night featuring spectacular food and delightful conversation with Chef Edith and her staff. Highly recommend!!!

Weird atmosphere. Dishes were super unique and cool, but not the most delicious food I’ve had. Pretty pricey, but knew that going in. Our waiter Christian was very good. Knowledgeable about the dishes and attentive. Sat on the covered deck expecting great view, but view was just okay.

Because this is a local, woman-owned business, and because the service and atmosphere were wonderful, I’d love to give Ludvig’s a five-star review but based on the food and value I simply cannot. The starters — scallops and artichokes — were incredible! The main courses were disappointing. The truffle pasta was bland, not something you’d expect with a truffle meal, and the Sicilian pesto pasta was bitter. And, the meal was nearly $300. For 2 people. Including one beer and three glasses of wine. My meal was not worth that. Hopefully yours will be.

Rarely do I leave a poor review but unfortunately we were deeply disappointed with our experience. We decided to dine at Ludvig’s to treat ourselves hoping it would be a high quality meal especially considering the price point. Unfortunately this was not the case. We paid a fortune and the food left a lot to be desired, and we ordered a ton of food! The bread was stale, the arancini’s rice was undercooked, the paella was bland, my pasta had an overwhelming amount of sauce, and the elk’s pasta dish was undercooked. That being said, I would recommend the salmon mosaic and the pistachio cheesecake was decent. Additionally, we made reservations weeks in advance and somehow we got seated at the bar. We requested to move to a table but it looked like all the tables were reserved, so we settled. Later new guests arrived without reservations and they got seated at tables. We were incredibly confused! Hopefully next time we have a better experience!

We came to this restaurant on June 5th during our Alaskan cruise vacation. We 100% love this place and happened upon it via conversations with locals at a coffee shop. In addition it was reinforced that we should go there by hour shuttle driver and employee at one of the museums. The restaurant itself is extremely inviting. When we got there we were greeted by three individuals each of them very eager to make sure that we were attended to and got a table to have lunch. Hands down everything we had was extremely delicious. You could really taste the freshness of all the salmon that we had. Even the local beers that they had on top were quite nice each of us tried a different local beer that is from Alaska and they were so refreshing and paired very well with the different items we ate. If you're in the area and are looking for a fun, welcoming and place that has an amazing chef come check out the beak.

Visited here on a cruise and I couldn’t have been happier we stopped here. Got a local cider and locally caught fish? I can’t think of an experience I wanted to be apart of more! Absolutely fantastic! Service was great. And the food was so unbelievably fresh! Go stop and have a great time!

Really exceptional. King salmon on cedar was by far the best thing we've eaten on our two week trip around British Columbia and Alaska. Great space and great wine, no issues.

It was an honor to eat at Beak after years of following the restaurant's journey online. Chef Renee is incredibly talented and kind. You can feel it in the welcoming nature of the staff and taste the love and passion for local food in every plate! Such amazing local seafood options on the menu and incredibly accommodating for any food allergies.

We tried it based on a recommendation. Prominently displayed BLM and Rainbow flags, but if you can get past that, the food is incredible. Wow!! The salmon chowder and rockfish tacos are to die for. Even the kid's quesadilla was wonderful. A definite stop if you are hungry for local food. And BTW, they will not accept a tip.

We came to Beak Restaurant for lunch as a group of six, and every single one of us left raving about the experience. From start to finish, everything was phenomenal. First off, do not skip the salmon chowder. It’s rich, flavorful, and comforting in the best way possible. And the cheddar scone? Absolute perfection. I’m still dreaming about it and honestly wish I had grabbed another one to go! I ordered the salmon on a slab and it was out of this world… perfectly cooked, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor. What sets Beak apart even further is their exceptional service and ethical business model. There are no hidden fees or tips. They pay their staff a living wage above minimum, which makes dining here feel even better. You know you’re supporting a restaurant that values its employees and community. Hidden Gem of Sitka! Walk through downtown past the overstuffed food bland establishments. Take a left after the beige Post Office, and the Beak restaurant is behind the white building radio station. Local friendly staff, great atmosphere, fresh off-the-boat and locally sourced options. The fish tacos were sublime!

Stopped by on July 6 when a lot of other stores were closed. Nice, comfy, local vibe. Ordered a cappuccino and lemon lust bar. Great lemon flavor. Cappuccino was in a to go cup, which I get, but I didn't really like. My buddy's espresso was also in a paper cup. Anyway, it's a good stop for a quick snack and pick me up. There is kind of a drive thru on the outside but I think it best to just come in if you can find parking.

Standard coffee shop vibe. Well laid out and easy to navigate. Drive through available and it appeared to be moving at a decent pace. Ordered a medium (16oz) house coffee which was good and not bitter. Also had the veggie croissant which was real good (even after reheating in the oven) and filling. Staff seemed fairly guarded for some reason, maybe cause we're not locals? They're nice though and the place was very clean.

Fun cafe here in Sitka. They had a decent amount of breakfast options available, and service was quick. They had a walk in option or drive thru, and workers were very helpful. Let’s of seating inside.

Long queue .. cashier constantly multitasking and orders were taken way too slowly, thus I didn’t tip which I usually will. Ordered cappuccino and she straight away make it a double when I didn’t say so. Lemon poppy seed pound cake looks good but didn’t taste so. Didn’t get to the taste part, failed on texture at first bite

Place is great! Service was good paced! Got the vanilla chai blended and by far the best one I've had yet! The smoke salmon spread on the spinach and chedder bagel will make a grown man cry! Fantastic!! Im gunna try making it myself! Highly highly recommend this place! Kind of hard to find, it's tucked way back behind some other shops, just follow the signs. Only downside is that they charge for cups of water, but if you buy something they will through the water in for "free" or if you just want water it's $2 for a 24oz.

We stopped by Mean Queen for breakfast, and while the portion sizes were solid, the overall experience left a bit to be desired. The avocado toast was especially disappointing. The ingredients were fresh, but the presentation and flavor were too simple. I really wish it had been served with sliced tomatoes and onions instead of chopped onions and cherry tomatoes. It felt like a missed opportunity to elevate a basic item. The shrimp omelette was better because the shrimp were fresh and well-cooked. However, it could’ve used more seasoning overall. The hashbrowns were nicely done, though! As for the black coffee, it just didn’t hit the mark. It was weak (not strong enough). That said, I really appreciated that this is an LGBTQ+ friendly space. Feeling safe and welcomed made a difference in my experience, and for that alone, I’d give them another shot. Maybe next time for lunch or dinner. I’ve heard good things about their pizza, so I’d definitely come back for that. In my opinion, breakfast just wasn’t their strongest suit.

We’ve been on 2 Alaskan cruises. Both times in Sitka we ate at the Mean Queen. Fantastic pizza and great drinks. The bacon on the pizza is fantastic! Great place for lunch or dinner

Neat restaurant/bar with an ocean view. Prices weren’t too crazy and the portion sizes were HUGE. I ordered the biscuits and gravy. My wife had the breakfast sandwich. Both were really good and very hearty. Honestly, I wish they offered half-size portions as I only had just over half of my order before being stuffed to the brim. My wife only had about half of hers as well. The place’s music was a bit loud but it’s a bar, so it’s kind of expected. The women’s bathroom door scrapes the floor VERY loudly. It’s jarring and If you’re not expecting it, it’s a bit of a jump scare. Recommend they fix that.

We came here and got a pizza. It was fine, but nothing too great. The toppings were good but the sauce had little flavor and the pizza crust was tough. It took a while to get our food so don’t eat here if you are in a time crunch.

Great pulled pork sandwich. Paired well with a cold beer. 😉 Have to walk up a flight or 2 of stairs to get to the bar. Did not see elevator. Beautiful view of the water.

We got two pizzas. A angry jester and a fortress of the pig pizza. Both were fantastic. The crust on the regular pizza is a mostly thin style and very good. We were told a pizza takes a little less than 30 minutes to come out and the deep dish would be 45 minutes if you are pressed for time for a cruise. Well worth the visit.

Nice people! Good food! Good view and close to the shuttle drop of point. When you are approaching the building they might look closed because the entry is a little dark… they are open and the restaurant is up stairs! Give them a try! We went for breakfast and really enjoyed it.

I visited them last week on my trip to Alaska The coffee is good and the smoothie is good. I ordered a piece of cream cake but it was warm, not cold, which cut down on the flavor. And the walker. She overcharged me for something I didn't ask for. But they immediately refunded the amount to my account Overall a nice experience

We ordered the chocolate croissant and ham with cheese croissant for breakfast. We also enjoyed a hazelnut latte and americano. The walk from the port was not bad at all. After enjoying this place, we walked through town

We waited until the last day of our trip to go here for breakfast and it was worth the wait! The selections were unique and delicious. We ordered the salmon which if the day, the breakfast sandwich with bacon, and the breakfast burrito. Each one was better than the next! The pastries looked delicious but we were way too stuffed after our hearty breakfast! Loved the ambiance and the service was amazing!

Excellent food, reasonable prices. Breakfast burrito, avocado toast, French toast, turkey gouda sandwich--all terrific and tasty. It can get crowded here, so go early for breakfast or lunch.

It's been more than 2 years since I went to Sitka, and I discovered this new bakery in front of Westmark Hotel. I ordered the avocado toast, and I never imagined avocado would pair so well with pickled shallots. The bread was fresh baked and toasted well. I also ordered their Mermaid smoothie bowl, which not only looked visually appealing but tasted really good as well. My only regret wss not ordering their coffee, which everyone seem to be enjoying that fine Friday morning. If you're ever in Sitka, I'd highly recommend stopping by.

Great food, great service, there were a couple minor hiccups during our experience visiting the Channel Club but the service making it right was fantastic. The shuttle to come and get us and take us back to our hotel was the only reason we visited, definitely a huge bonus. Gorgeous view during supper!

The menu is short and diverse. The servers are very kind and chatty. There's promos and special items they'll let you know about. The bar drinks are good. Lots of parking space and cool free shuttle service.

The owner picked up our party of seven from our downtown hotel. The food and service was outstanding. Be sure to make a reservation and book early.

It was the first time I had ever had White Salmon, and it was delicious. Simply grilled, served with sticky rice and lemon sauce, it was absolutely delightful. The Channel Club has so much character and is such an inviting place. The owners and the chef provided us with the history of the club, fishing in Sitka, and an impromptu lesson on different types of salmon and how to tell if the fish is fresh and ready for preparation. We loved it. Thank you for creating such a wonderful memory for us.

It was a place scheduled within our tour with royal Caribbean cruise . I tried both white salmon and red salmon which was perfect. The staff were lovely and the view was great. It’s a must visit restaurant.

Pizza Express is darn near my favorite place in town. There are a lot of selections to choose from. You will definitely find something to eat here. There are burgers, hot wings, enchiladas, club sandwiches, tacos and so so much more. They don’t have a full bar which is the only bummer of this place. The beer and wine selection is fantastic though. The service is always great and the folks are very polite and attentive. The prices are just Sitka prices. Don’t be surprised. The portions are great for the price too and there are free chips and salsas that make up for it. Overall this spot is worth multiple visits and fun to hang out in and have conversation. Cheer.

A little different than what a Midwesterner is used to with a combo Mexican-Pizza theme, but the pizza was very good. I got the mafia pizza and it was a great combination of flavors with just the right thickness of crust! Very friendly and attentive staff too. We recommend if you are in the mood for pizza or Mexican in Sitka!

Update: I am updating my review from 3 -> 5 stars as the last three times I have ordered my food has not been soggy and I've got to enjoy my nachos :). Thank you for taking the feedback Pizza Express, I love your nachos so much T_T. I probably won't try my luck with the steak sandwich again, but I'm more than happy enough with this change alone. I've reserved my review and ordered delivery from Pizza Express about 10 times now. I usually get Pizza and Nachos, this time I got their steak sandwich. So...the pizza is awesome - thoroughly enjoy it, though expensive as far as pizza is concerned; it's Sitka - so..yea, at least the quality is there. We like their Garlic Chicken, Potato, and of course good o'l fashioned cheese. The Nachos...I love nachos, which is probably why I tolerate that half of them are soggy and basically a waste by the time I receive them. Yo-yos were gross ingredients - so at least the toppings (especially the chicken) are exceptional with Pizza Express...the problem is their chip to topping ratio. The chicken is cut into huge chunks and the delicious chips are too few and smothered in toppings so most of them quickly fall victim to sogginess T____T. Again, this can be improved with 1. improving topping ratio, and 2. not letting the food sit out on the counter waiting for other deliveries. I believe they're doing point #2 because the fries for my sandwich were SUPER soggy...which leads me into my next portion of this review... The Steak Sandwich, so...lol again for an $18 meal I would at least expect the quality to be there. The fries were like worms they were so pliable/moist and there was more cheese than there was meat on the sandwich - which was REALLY gross guys. Super disappointing, when they said "thinly sliced steak" in their description I was thinking Philly Cheesesteak style....but alas, this was one really depressing slice of steak, smothered in cheese.

Great spot for pizza or nachos?? Yes, you can really get both, or even a burger. In a strip mall and out of the way, the food is solid. Not super creative, but perfect for a late night bite or to satisfy a craving!

We ordered by phone for delivery. Combo chili relleno and enchilada, fajitas, taco, chips and salsa, and guacamole. Our order arrived 1 hr later and unfortunately I did not check the order. When I took out the order our chips and salsa and guacamole was missing. I called and was told they would send it. 1 hour later I called again as we did not receive. They thought it had been delivered but it was not. So they said they would send it. The salsa and guacamole was delivered, but not the chips! Another hour goes by. Still no chips. Tried calling at 8:45 and restaurant does not answer. For $72 order this was extremely disappointing. Check your delivery!!! I ended up going the next day to the restaurant and they gave me 1 order of chips. Lol

Good Mexican food with lots of varieties to choose from. Happy, welcoming atmosphere and nice indoor design.

Stopped here after sight seeing from our cruise ship vacation. Service wasn't to bad, business was slow but due to the season ending but our waitress was sweet and helpful! Food wasn't half bad, halibut fish and chips was good, crispy and flakey but $33 for 4 halibut nuggets and 2 hand fulls of fries is a joke!! The prices are way to high for little food! The clam chowder had good flavor but was nuke warm at best after waiting 25 mins to be served when we were the only party there. Beers were beers, can't complain there but the prices are very high and that says alot for alaskas already high prices. If there going to charge that much for there food then make sure food is hot and portions are plentiful for the new season! I wouldn't highly recommend this place but if you were starving, it's something to eat. 7/10 over all

Great location to the port and food was quick and hot. Service can make or break an experience and, in this case, Willow, our waitress, broke the experience. She was great until she said she was going outside to catch a break. From then on, service was trash at best.

This place has fresh crab and that was what we after! The service was amazing. The food was tasty and well cooked to our liking. Overall the food and service was amazing and we enjoyed ourselves. The place was meh to me as it was like every restaurant nothing special or unique clean and simple.

We had lunch here on our sitka AK cruise stop. It was right on the water at cruise port. Great location easy access and Live crabs. We got a whole dungeoness crab along with some drinks. Service was fast and efficient.we recommend the Duck Fart Shot😁

Had to try the clam chowder... it was amazing!!! Waitress seemed a bit scattered and didn't check in except to give us our bill...even though it was not busy.. but overall it was a great experience... would definitely recommend checking it out!!

Backdoor Café in Sitka, Alaska is a hidden gem. The service is warm and welcoming, and everything feels homemade and thoughtful. The food runs out quickly so make sure to get there early. The rhubarb granola pastry is to die for. One of the best things we ate on our trip. Cozy atmosphere and a great stop for a morning treat.

O M G! Best cookies in the universe. They also have coffee, tea, breakfast burritos, cinnamon rolls, and sandwiches. There are a few tables if you want to eat there. They sell out, so don’t waste time! There is a great bookstore attached.

I came here specifically for a cuppa coffee, and the coffee was really tasteless. I didn’t feel like it had anybody was very weak. I would like to be fair in my review however I did not have any of the food and they look like they were baked fresh. Also, the atmosphere is nice. There’s a lot of space here to hang out.

We've tried coffee shops in every city we visited in Alaska and this was hands down the best one on the whole trip! Portland coffee snobs would approve 😉

This small cute coffee shop is in the back of the bookstore. It's pretty busy, but the coffee is made fairly quickly. Prices are actually lower than the other coffee places in the area. There is a seating area, seats about 25, but it's pretty dark, not exactly conducive to a relaxing atmosphere, but it's not bad, just there's no view. There are two entrances, back entrance has a restroom. The girls tending to this place are very nice, acknowledge you right away and quick. The coffee was tasty, apparently it's raven brews, the competing one from Heritage, and the place smells like freshly baked cookies.

This is literally a cafe at the “back door” of a book shop. And it’s a hidden gem! You can access it via the back of the building, or through the bookstore. The staff are all so super friendly and nice (just like all the people we met in Sitka) and the cafe is cute and has a lovely cosy feel. Lots of indoor seating and there are a few outdoor tables/ chairs too. The coffee was excellent- they definitely know all about their beans and how to make great espresso. The cabinet is packed with so many delicious sweet treats, and freshly made doorstopper sandwiches too- so make sure you come with a big appetite! A great spot for coffee or lunch.

Despite the cruise traffic, quiet place around the corner and off the beaten path. I had the turkey sandwich, a delicious Chai latte and a wonderful slice of fresh blueberry pie.

Love that they serve breakfast all day policy. Fastest service to pick up! The food is traditional hearty American dinner. Wish they had more coffee options like lattes and stuff.

Get the pie! This restaurant is tucked into the corner of Sitka's airport. It has a diner atmosphere and is perfect for passing the time while waiting for your flight. Prices are reasonable and staff was friendly and quick Get the pie!!! It was awesome! I got the blackberry, rhubarb, and strawberry pie with ice cream. It was delicious and was a delicious way to close out my trip to Sitka. Edit: went here for breakfast and their breakfast's are pretty spot on as well. It was a little crowded on Sunday morning but we were still able to get a table in a reasonable time (we had a large party) and get food ordered. The food was delicious! Hash browns were crispy, toast was perfect, and coffee was hot! You can't beat it! Well...you can if you get the pie...

I think this is the best restaurant in town and it's at the airport. We eat here a lot, and it's always awesome.

Had to place an order over the phone while i was at work..the man answered quickly and took my order with ease and informed me they had a line out the door and it would be about 2o minutes. they made the most perfect sandwich for me and had it ready when i got there. They're doing a great job over there! impressed with the quality considering how busy they were, thanks!

Sitka , Ak prices higher than franchise stores in lower 48... higher cost of getting goods to an island. Service varies depending on who is behind counter... some make a significantly poorer quality sandwich.. skimping on primary ingredients

Not impressed. 👎🏼 They advertise gluten free bread but have NEVER had it. They DO NOT advertise veggie patties… but HAVE them. I have asked them to advertise over the course of many months (and they say they will) but have not. When they ring me up (this has happened countless times) my receipt will say I ordered a “BLT”…when I did not…and the manager explains that a product they distribute and sell (the veggie pattie) is not “in their system” so therefore they must charge me for something different. It’s like buying a Honda but getting charged for a Mercedes.

Went to subway for breakfast Had a ham an cheese wrap and coffee [ this subway no longer serves flat bread] any way it is located behind Highlander coffee and Super 8 hotel ... bathroom clean and restaurant is clean too . . Have add on door for $8 Sub of the day! Cashier rings it up wrong and then says add was for last month! This month still has a few days left in it and when I tell him this he acts now like no advertisement exist. I point to the sign and he tells me to talk to the manager and to move along.

Food was good but the menu was not accurate. I ordered the Mixed Breadbasket for $8.50 which claimed it came with roasted garlic, but the wait staff said it wasn’t offered anymore. I also ordered a Caesar Salad with added salmon, which the menu said would cost $16 more. When the bill came, there was a charge for $20 for “white king salmon”. No effort was made to adjust the bill, just the explanation of “that’s how it is priced in my system”.

I thoroughly enjoyed eating at Mangiare. The food was tasty and left me wanting more. The wine was fresh and paired well with the meal. The service was very friendly, both times. One time was just for drinks. The second time was for a full dinner in the evening. The pasta amount in the plates were funny looking but there was a good serving in the center for two. That along with the warm olive bread and balsamic and oil mix, the salmon, and appetizers was worth the cost. I left full and feeling great. The food tasted great. The people were nice. Go go go. Give them a visit.

We came into Sitka with Royal Caribbean and after a few miles of hiking and seeing the beautiful town and surrounding landscape we were hungry! The sticker price on the King Crab scared me at first, but I gave in and boy was it worth it! That crab meat was tender yet firm and had a delicious fresh taste! Everyone else in my party enjoyed their food as well! The servers were nice but a little slow. For how crowded the place was, and one of the only places offering sit down dining around, I understand that. If you’re in Sitka looking for some amazing Crab and don’t get scared off by the price you are in for a treat!

He food was great but ... Loved the calamari. The fish and chips were fresh and the breading was very light. The salmon sandwich too tasted great. However, the food took a very long time to arrive every though the two of us got there before a larger group. Also for the food prices, it is a little strange that they have plastic cutlery and they charge a fee for credit cards. If they just increased the price a tiny amount and avoided the fee, it would feel less that we were being nicked and dimed. And lastly, they gave us the password for WiFi and that was the only time that I missed the ship's WiFi !!

Ate here for lunch recently in Sitka. We were able to get seated immediately, and the service was relatively quick. Food was okay, there wasn’t a lot of seasoning to any of it but still it was still pretty good.

Everything that we had was amazing! I especially loved the bolognese (ordered this two times) and piccata. We were in Sitka for a week and we ate here three times! It is a small restaurant, so there might be a bit of a wait. But, it is worth the wait!

Yum such good dumplings. Better than perogies as they are smaller. Had beef and potato with their special Siracha sauce. So good.

Sitka Pel’Meni serves some delicious Russian dumplings. The beef ones are the best and full of flavor. The menu is simple with not many options but everything is made well. There is seating available but it can get busy when the boats come in. Be sure to get all the toppings for the full experience.

Absolutely amazing pel'meni! if you travel all the way to Sitka and don't eat here you've made a mistake. Both the beef and potato pel'meni are good, personally my favorite is beef. Make sure to get all the toppings and add one of the ramekins of sour cream that are in the bottom of the fridge where the drinks are. I ate here three times while our cruise ship was docked and I would have been back for dinner if I didn't have to be on the ship when it left!

We frequent this restaurant very often. The service is quick, it's cheap, and very delicious. Sometimes the music can be overly loud and distasteful, but it usually depends on who's working and it doesn't happen often. On those days we just take it to go. Otherwise, lovely little place. Never had a single other complaint. Very simple, very fast, affordable, great place to eat.

We were really looking forward to checking this place out during our visit. After a small gate cup of them opening late, we got our food and it wasn’t bad, I was just expecting more. I brought some people with me to try this type of food for the first time and unfortunately, it was a little undercooked since they were rushing to catch up with a crowd that was waiting outside. I’m sure it would’ve been better if they weren’t so rushed.

A great lunch here. Service was friendly parking on side street was easy. This is a small simple place with two items on the menus. You order at the counter and it takes less than ten minutes to cook. We got an order of each. (Potato & meat). You get dozen small dumplings. We had all the toppings and the flavor was great. When you add the cost which is modest this come across as a great lunch.

We stopped here after grabbing beer from Harbor Mountain Brewing. They said they opened at 4:00PM but didn’t start serving until 4:30PM, and there was some confusion with our friend’s order. The staff didn’t seem eager to open on time or very friendly when going over the menu. The menu itself is not very diverse, but to be fair, the pizza was really great. If you’re willing to be a little patient, it’s worth a stop for the quality of the food.

The menu is pretty lame. No sides other than salads which they are out of. They are out of pepperonis, the first pizza I ordered off the menu they are out of. They also said they don’t have any plates. I seen people with plates so I think what they meant to say is that the dish washer called out sick. The restaurant was a little busy but not full. Pizzas are kinda small for $20-$30 and you’ll need to go to the grocery store for some salad, bread, maybe some chicken wings. If your just looking for a snack with your beer, these pizzas are for you. If your looking for a Family dinner, go somewhere else. There excuse is “the menu is always changing” but this was the same issues when I came here last summer.

Awesome freaking pizza. Best on the island. You will not be disappointed with any of their pieces. My only complaint is on the roasted beef salad. That did not taste like Chèvre. It sure seemed like that was ricotta. It had the taste and texture of ricotta. A really bad ass goat cheese would’ve been great on that salad. Other than that, it was delicious.

Great pizza, house made ranch and some good gelato to top it off. It shares space with a brewery that's got great stuff on tap. A must visit if you are stopping in sitka.

Tasty pie! We had the margarita (although I was excited to try some of their fancier pies- thanks mom 🤪) Great crust, and all ingredients felt really fresh. Cute lil ambiance (if a teeny bit bare), but lovely staff, with a brewery too. They had the best tshirts & hoodies!

This pizza is a solid pizza. Great thin crust, no flop. Nice leoparding around the outside and a great under carriage, solid crunch. I highly recommend, especially if you are grabbing a beer next door!

Ernie's Old Time Saloon is a classic local bar with great vibes! We stopped in while in Sitka, and it was the perfect spot to soak up some local charm. Of course, we had to try a Duck Fart—it’s a must while visiting! The atmosphere is laid-back and welcoming, making it a fun place to relax and enjoy a drink. If you’re looking for a no-frills, authentic bar experience in Sitka, Ernie’s is definitely worth a stop!

We stopped in on our Sitka Pedal Pub tour, experienced my first duck fart shot! Recommend giving one a try (crown royal, kahlua, baileys).

Found this little gem when I was exploring Sitka. There were mostly tourists from the cruise ships in the bar, but I was lucky enough to challenge some locals to several games of pool. The local people are approachable and good natured, and I was even given a ride back to the ship, with ten minutes to spare. Great place to get a bite and a refreshing adult beverage.

Great bar!!! Super friendly! Awesome vibe!! Cash only but they have an ATM machine. The bartender was from Texas and was super cool! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone passing through.

Came in on a rainy day in Alaska (imagine that!:). Friendly bar with pool tables. Had a few drafts… Alaskan Class 5 & Alaskan Husky IPA. Nice low key relaxed place. Cash only.

What an atmosphere. Definitely feels like an old timey bar in the gold rush. The guy behind the bar was awesome. Didn’t catch his name, but he was running a busy bar and did it with a smile. Beer was fairly priced and quite tasty. The mixed drinks looked tasty, but that’s not exactly my thing. Oh. Don’t ring the bell! Unless you plan on being generous, anyway.

Came here on a Friday night for dinner and had no wait time to get seated at a table. Got our orders taken pretty quickly, and got our food relatively quickly as well but that was the end of the service we got. Never had any follow up, drink refills and then had to flag someone down to pay. Food was pretty good, pretty salty though.

Fantastic place to stop by for lunch or a break while walking around town. I had the salmon dip with chips and the Alaskan Spotted Prawns with down butter. Both were fresh and delicious! Our bartender, Cindy, provided fantastic service.

This spot came recommended by family that had been here before (a couple years ago) so we gave it a try. The food was average, nothing great but it wasn't bad either. 2 appetizers, 1 entrées and 2 drinks came to $85. It was overpriced and service was slow even though it wasn't busy.

No gluten free bun. No gluten free options except a salad. Long, long wait time. People are no help...if your party is hungry and you are the only one that is Celiac, this is a medical diet...not a casual choice....plan on lettuce, banana peppers, blue cheese, little chopped up tomatoes and a few tiny bits of ham, and one hard boiled egg. Now if that is what you went for...then I guess you will love it there. But to be RIGHT next to the docks without any options for gf sea food... or anything besides salad...I will have to say they are missing the boat. No comment from the rest of my party regarding their food. And after standing in line for 45 minutes, we weren't about to turn around and walk out just because of me. So please just be forewarned. Don't go if you need to eat gluten free unless you want a salad!!

We ate here for lunch when our cruise ship was in port. They do not have a kids menu! Strike 1. Our fish and chips were good but the breading was very soggy. It didn’t come with a lemon wedge and when we asked for some, the kitchen only wanted to give us ONE for the group of 9 to share. Our server was very rude and seemed annoyed to be taking our orders and helping us. She turned on the charm when she brought the checks though… working for that tip. When the 6 year old asked for some BBQ sauce to go with the chicken strips he was forced to order off the adult menus, they charged us $2.00 per 1 oz cup of sauce. A bottle of sauce is like, what, maybe $8 if you’re buying the “top shelf” sauce. An 8oz cup of seafood chowder was $10 and in total, our bill for 4 lunches was $200. When the server handed us the check, her exact words were “I didn’t already add gratuity on there.” 🤣🤣🤣 (like, don’t forget to tip me) And then, if you’re paying with a card, there’s a fee added to the total, like at the occasional mini-mart. 0/10 would recommend this place. Oh, and we couldn’t even find the door to get in. 😂

Stopped here for lunch during cruise stop. I ordered cod fish and chips. I got salad bowl with 3 breaded fish sticks and fries. Other guy in our group ordered same thing. He got basket with 4 breaded fish sticks. Asked waiter if I got kids meal. He angrily said no, said other guy got extra. Extra terrible words. After my $5.00 tip for sorry food and service he tore out receipt and threw it at me. Man what a tourist trap!!

My fish was good, nicely battered and fried properly I had a problem with the portions offered. For $24, the cod fish & chips had three finger size pieces of cod and a light serving of fries. Other reviewers posted plate photos that I can confirm align with my experience. Not the worst but there have to be better choices.

The best wings I have ever had!! We typically pick and choose what days we will visit this restaurant because sometimes the music is loud and hard to hear conversations, mostly during weekends evening hours and during sports seasons. We prefer a softer atmosphere with a less rowdy crowd. We've always had great service and never had to wait for a seat. Never had an issue with our food. Everything we've ever gotten here has been really great.

After a nightmare 2 days of travel, we were hungry and in need of a good meal. We were seated right away and Holly, our server, quickly got our drinks ordered and served. The calamari came out piping hot. My special of the halibut dinner had a beautiful presentation, generous portions of food, and the halibut “steak” was delicious. Holly was a wonderful server. Thank you Bayview for redeeming us for the beautiful walk we had afterwards!

Took forever after getting seated to finally flag someone down to wait on us. A rude young lady stopped by our table and asked us”do you need something”?. We say said yes we would like to be waited on. She walked off and a man came over and asked if we needed to order. We did order. Our food was hot and average. The server walked off and we had no utensils to eat. We asked the young lady for utensils when she walked by and she would not look at us but came back, dropped them off, and walked away. We finished, left a small tip, and left. I say find a better place in town and eat there

Drinks, food, friendly staff, and a great atmosphere. The prices are a bit high, but that's probably typical for Alaska. Overall, it was a good experience while visiting town.

I'm not often 100% in love with the food I get at restaurants, but I was here. The seafood chowder was so delicious I wanted more! The Brando's Mexican-style Philly was amazing and my husband's Buffalo & Jam burger and Bleu Cheese Fries were too. All around excellent. I was surprised.

The staff are super friendly and helpful, the service is fast, the atmosphere is a cozy busy with great views of the water and mountains, and the food is amazing. They had some of the best smoked wings and my wife had the seasonal halibut fish and chips. Both were top notch, and our daughter had their daily special Peruvian chicken soup, which she devoured. Can't recommend this place enough! Shout-out to Juel for a fantastic experience and great suggestions.

Food good! Had the special which was grilled salmon on rice with pesto. Food was good, but small portions. Long wait. The sparkling water is the Bubly brand. Didn’t think what I got was worth the price. It was good, but the price very high for what I received.

Fantastically fresh and delectably prepared. If you see it, don’t think twice or they might sell out of the dish you’re eying. We snagged their last piece of King Salmon which was their special, and everything else we saw folks eating looked amazing, especially the fish & chips. Friendly & polite service, too.

Positive - fresh seafood. Negative - just about everything else. It took over 35 minutes for fish tacos, after they told us 5-10 minutes. Portions are small even for being in Alaska. Fish quality is excellent, but just not worth the wait.

AMAZING FRESH-CAUGHT FISH! Mmmmmm. Our driver recommended it, and it was a delight. Our favorites were the grilled rockfish tacos with purple and green cabbage, cilantro, lime, Crema, fresh pico de gallo on corn tortillas and the special of the day which was grilled Alaskan King salmon served over Ashmore’s rice and topped with basil pesto. Amazing!The rice is coconut, cilantro jasmine rice.

Chose to buy food here based on recommendation of a lifelong resident. The food was good but the service left a bad taste in my mouth. Ordered the special and fish-n-chips. The fifteen minute wait turned into a half an hour and when I politely recommended that the workers give a more accurate estimate, the woman at the window rolled her eyes while saying "I apologize" in the driest monotone voice. Good food does not negate the need for courtesy.

Nice local food truck in downtown Sitka. The place was packed for lunch so the wait time for food was longer than usual. Some of the food items could use some additional flavor. It seems a bit pricey for the quantity of food. But definitely a nice local place to try.

I've had fried fish many places that are famous for it, and I kid you not, I think this is the best I've ever had. Or at least right up there with any other contender. Absolutely delicious fish and chips. The mac and cheese (I think it had lobster?) was also very good, but the beer battered rockfish fish and chips will absolutely blow you away. If you're visiting Sitka from a cruise ship, do yourself a favor and stop at this food truck for a bite to eat. Worth standing around outside no matter the cold and rain.

This local spot will make you feel at home. The kitchen is shut down, but they'll have a hot dog ready for you and great personalities

This was the only place to buy beer that was within walking distance of our hotel. The waitress was fun as was another buyer of alcohol to-go. We did not drink here this time but have on previous visit. It was fun. Safe.

Bartenders are absolutely nasty and think they can treat customers badly... Hard to even order because they ignore people most of the time. Much better experience elsewhere. .

Know as P’s place to the locals if you make it here you’re only 1% of cruise ship people that venture this far. A selection of Alaskan beers but what really sets the place apart are the amazing photos on the walls of boats and huge halibut. Apparently the large halibut are impressive but not great to eat.

If you want a great drink with a local vibe atmosphere, this is the place in Sitka.

Nice brewery to visit if your stopping by in port. They usually open up earlier when a ship comes into port. You can walk here from town thru the trails and is down the street from the raptor exhibit.

This is a friendly, happy place. We stopped by in November, in the off season and had a nice visit. The server Christine was friendly and helpful, and was quite knowledgeable with respect to the various beers available. We arrived at about four in the afternoon on a Friday and there were only a couple of other people there. We were a bit disappointed with the charcuterie plate that we ordered. We expected a bit more than nine little slices of nondescript cheese and nine little slices of meat with some grilled panini bread for seventeen dollars. By the time we left at about 5:30, the place was full and busy with a friendly after work crowd. It seems like a good place for singles, couples, groups and families. I enjoyed their IPA, and their non-alcoholic rootbeer was very good as well.

My favorite 3 beers in this order Spruce tip Red Brown The chairs are really comfortable, the new deck area is awesome, and there are plenty of bottles to give as gifts.

All the beers are very good but the Spruce beer is so amazing it looks is a must try if you live in town or are just passing through.

I visited when they first opened and enjoyed their offerings. Visited again recently and was impressed with how much they have upped their brewing game. Also, their current facilities have a nice vibe to enjoy a beverage and conversation.

Whale Tale was delicious and also an amazing offering in support of WhaleFest! Spruce Tip is phenomenal! Everything I have tried from BIBCO is fantastic. ❤️❤️❤️

First rule of McDonald's: always check your bag before you leave. I am fond of our McDonald's in our little town. The workers are friendly and the service is better than average.

Well it took a long time to get there. I was late to my meeting in Japan and I decided to stop here on the kayak ride over. Service was good seeing as how I was their only customer. Food was a little old I wouldn't imagine that they get enough business to get more than one food delivery. It smelled like a MacDonald's should and the bathrooms were nice until I got there. I was holding it for awhile (from LA). The person running it actually lives there. My GPS had a hard time finding it so it was difficult to locate in the middle of the ocean. Thankfully I took an astronomy class and know directions thanks to stars. Good luck other McDonald's enthusiasts it was surprisingly average. Not sure what kind of farm this McDonald had.

They don't change the oil in their fryers often and I can taste the bitterness in the nuggets and hash browns. Eating at a McDonald's back in the lower 48 just helped me confirm this. The hash browns taste so much lighter and better compared to the one in Sitka.

Just had to have a burger and fries. It's so clean and friendly here! Best view in entire USA. Hey, tour bus drivers stop bad mouthing our McDonald's. The prices are decent and nobody is ending up at the ER across the street.

Very nice and well stocked, old fashioned, pharmacy in Sitka. I loved the old fashioned soda fountain part of this establishment. Very cool.

There was maybe 2 people ahead of us & Customers that ordered after us recieved their order before we did. Didn't even recieve our full order & mentioned that we were missing a root beer float after waiting a few minutes & was met with attitude.

Another business in Sitka that doesn't stay open until their posted hours. I walk in, oh yea, no we closed early today for no reason. Just lazy. It's no wonder they are constantly posting looking for employees. Lazy.

Ridiculously expensive. I bought a bottle of ibuprofen that was marked $10.00 which was bad enough. But was charged $20.00 for it. When I asked the clerk, I just received a dead-eyed look. If I wasn't desperate for pain relief I would have just left it on the counter. Go to the Market Center instead.

I love the soda fountain of the Pharmacy! Makes it unique and adds that old vintage neighbourhood vibe. Few places like this, you can find a little bit of everything. Moderate prices, variety, good centric locatio but I do believe sometimes they are understaff tough.

I had to go here to get a prescription while I was in the middle of a cruise. First the store smells amazing like waffle cones because right in the front they are making fresh waffle cones for their delicious ice cream. You must get some if you visit. The pharmacy team was amazing and all the staff in the store where so nice. It was such a a great experience. This location is right downtown so if you are on a cruise and need anything this is the best place to get it. I would say the only good thing about this hotel is the location. Everything else was terrible. The first room we were given was right off of the lobby. Dark dingy and smelled weird. We asked to be moved and new room wasn’t much better. Upstairs fixture is broken in the bathroom & TV didn’t work. We mentioned it and the kid at the desk who was definitely on something couldn’t figure out how to fix it so after several attempts to figure it out, he sat downstairs! The next morning. I asked to talk to the manager, but an even younger kid was at the desk and looked at me like he didn’t understand anything I said,…do yourself a favor and avoid this hotel at any cost. We moved out after one night and found another hotel room.

On Sunday, we arrived around 10 am to drop off our bags. The front desk staff didn’t say “hello” but immediately told us “check in time is 3PM.” They allowed us to store our bags in a closet. That’s fine. We returned around 3 PM and were told the room wasn’t ready and to return in a few hours. We returned at 7 PM and the room still wasn’t ready. We waited another 20 minutes and were told the room is finally ready. Upon entering the room we found it in poor condition. Body hair was in the bathtub, the room had an odor, and the room wasn’t the deluxe room I booked. I told the desk there was hair in the bathtub and that we were staying somewhere else. A member of the cleaning staff, clearly upset, said they could reclean it. We had already been waiting 4 hours past check in and didn’t want to wait longer. We worked with the excellent customer service rep at Expedia about a refund. The hotel would not reimburse us in full due to their booking policy. We booked two nights, so they refunded us half. They did not uphold their part of the bargain— a reasonable check in time or the room I booked — and the cleanliness is severely lacking. If you want to have a good time in Sitka, stay at a different hotel. The town is very walkable. You’re spending a lot of money to see this beautiful place. You don’t deserve to have your vacation ruined.

My family and I likely wouldn't stay at this hotel again. The service was not very good, which is honestly our biggest complaint. The rooms are pretty simple and the location is good. But if you have any concerns or issues with your room, you really shouldn't bank on any assistance. The person at the front desk was not rude, but they didn't possess the ability to troubleshoot anything and sat on their phone rather than trying to figure out how to solve the issue at hand. If you didn't have to interact with staff much, I can see how your rating might be higher. Just my opinion.

This hotel was conveniently located downtown, but that was the only good thing about it. No one answers the phone or email. No one is ever at the front desk. The room we were given was relatively clean, but the TV remote did not work. A drawer panel was missing from the bar sink. There is absolutely no counter space at the bathroom sink, so no place to put any toiletries. In addition, our room was over the adjoining bar/restaurant, so we did not get any sleep at all. We heard loud music, individual conversations and laughter until very late. The walls are so thin that you can hear the neighboring rooms’ showers and squeaky floors. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Hotel has no breakfast. TV doesn't work. No chair or desk inside the room. Room had like a full size bed. Pretty bad smell when walking between the restaurant and hotel. Hotel shuttle never came. I was told to be up ten minutes early at 5:35am. Waited until 6 then started running to the airport in the rain. Then the shuttle guy happened to drive by. Didn't even apologize until I said something.

Pros - comfortable bed and hot great pressure shower. Shuttle pickup was outside waiting for our plane. Fantastic location. Great view of the Sound. Cons - It wasn't the cleanest. Missing Keurig pods and coffee cups. Went to the lobby to get coffee and it was out. Girl did not seem interested in making more (7:30am). She did give me pods but it took 5 cycles with the Keurig to get one cup. Next morning was able to get coffee in lobby. TV stuck on AMC. Even tried to reset the box, unplugged the TV. Guy at the front desk asked what room. But that was it. The insert on the duvet on the second bed was very lumpy. We did not use that bed. We stayed 2 nights others in our party stayed one. One couples TV had the same problem. Another couples room was perfect. The restaurant and bar was great. A little expensive but everything in Alaska is expensive. We were going fishing and they picked us up at a park across the street. So if we went fishing again we would probably stay again just because of that. It is a shame because it could be a really cute hotel if they just invested a little money to replace the TV, carpets, torn mini blinds, and a missing screen. Descale the Keurigs. We were lucky and had sunny days so we explored the town vs staying in the room.

The noise is horrible (radio full volume above us”and when we contacted the front desk their response was “I don’t know what to do.” ) The room is dirty. Much of the furniture is broken or of Salvation quality. This hotel should be closed unless the ownership invests serious $ to renovate. And do I mention the staff who are unhelpful, rude and disinterested? All for a bargain of $350 per night! A total ripoff.

We stopped in while touring Sitka. We ordered 2 cups of chowder that came with bread. The chowder was very good, although I would have preferred the chorizo not be included. It was just enough to satisfy our lunch craving and continue touring the museums and enjoy the sites of Sitka. We were encouraged to visit the Ludvig's Mediterranean Bistro. Reviewing their menu and prices, the bistro was out of our budget. Since we're sailing in Alaska aboard our own boat, I can cook Alaskan cuisine more economically. Having the option of enjoying Ludvig's chowder was perfect. I definitely suggest making a stop - if you're lucky enough that they are open. In addition to dining inside, you can get your order to-go and sit outside and enjoy the waterfront.

I can totally see why this chowder is so popular in Sitka. It was a spicy bowl of goodness, and served at a nice hot temperature. It's perfect for cold, windy, and rainy days. It's located at the gift shop next door to the Sitka Sound Science Center. It's where you can sit down and soak in the view of Sage Beach. It's where many people go to climb on the rocks and look for sea life that has washed ashore. It's amusing to watch them. You may even see Bald Eagles fly by looking for fish. We did. There was a line, but everyone was served quickly. The menu is very simple. The chowder with spicy chorizo is the star. We both decided to get the lunch special. I should have ordered a cup instead of a bowl. This chowder is very hardy. There's a lot going on in terms of flavor. It's very meaty. Hubby asked for hot sauce. She told him that he's not going to need it. He was initially taken aback by this response and refusal to give him any. He totally understood after tasting it, and he even ended up agreeing with her. We totally devoured it. The baguette sandwich was also quite delicious. My husband had some sort of sandwich with pepperoni because he doesn't like prosciutto. He said it was okay. I didn't try it because my baguette sandwich was huge. I couldn't finish it. My advice is to get a cup of chowder and split the sandwich if your significant other likes prosciutto. The price is high for what it is. It's like that everywhere in Alaska due to the cost of transportation. There's limited seating inside, but it's somewhat easy to find a spot if it's not too busy. There are benches outside as well. I would definitely return if ever in the area. It was a great pick-me-up, and very conveniently located on the waterfront trail through Sitka.

We didn’t have any of the chowder or salmon here, but we did go in. This Chowder cafe is also a gift shop. Cute little place next to the museum, which is great for the children. Ludvig’s Chowder Cart gift shop was a fun stop and we did make a purchase. My daughter found some cute little marine animal shaped crayons that she loved. They were small enough for our carry-one and worked out great.

Simple set up, not just a cart. It’s like a big shed with a few tables for dine-in and a clean toilet. Service staff was prompt and polite. We went there for its spicy chowder. It was nicer than the rest we tried - not too thick and salty. Great for light lunch on a rainy day 👍🏻

So glad we tried the chowder from Ludwig's! So creamy with a kick and it's one of the best chowders we've ever had. Sitka was one of our ports of call on our cruise and after a day of strolling the parks and the museum, we passed by this cozy place with benches and tables outside for a spectacular view of the water. Very accessible and is just a walking distance from the port. Highly recommended!

The spice in this clam chowder is next level. I am a little cold and after the hike and the museum close by, this is a real treat. Not you traditional no spice chowder. Dipping the bread they have is epic.

Hands down the best chowder I have ever had. I would buy it by the case if they would can it and ship it. The sandwich and cookies also delicious, but that chowder.

Great view seated outside and great food. Went to Ludwig’s the night or two before and would go to the Galley over it. Honestly, stayed in Sitka a whole week, ate out 3-4 times and would say Galley was top of the list as far as restaurants go. Food trucks good also. Service was hard working but a bit understaffed it appeared. Overall very good. If weather is nice enough, would highly suggest the deck for seating. Fish tacos were great.

Small & cozy with view to the dock. The menu is short but well thought with a good variety of Seafood plates. The service was excellent! Highly recommended.

Had the parpadelle the other night while in Sitka at the Galley restaurant. Our server recommend the black cod tips appetizer and it definitely didn’t disappoint, so glad I took their advice. The whole meal was excellent, but the views and service were even better.  A must visit while in town.

after being in some tourists traps in the city center, where price and quality is not at all with a good ratio, and looking after some better place but who seems not willing to work, as they are closed 4 days a week, or diner is before 17:00, we finally find one nice, delicious, original restaurant, with a very good quality price ratio. we definitely recommand "the Galley restaurant". you need to walk 15 mn from visitor center, but you will not regret it.

The Galley Restaurant in Sitka is by definition the perfect location for an amazing meal. The staff is friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu options available. The views are impressive and the atmosphere is beautiful. And while you are there, ask for The Real Ramon!!!

we had two meals at the Larkspur, both excellent and by local standards, very affordable. It is a "whole earth" kind of place with a great vibe. good service, good music (not too loud). for lunch Ruth had the Salmon Chowder and I had the Ling Cod wrap, both of which were superb. the second day we went for dinner and both chose a baked pasta with chorizo. It was spicy and delicious... total cost including desert was $28!! a real bargain.

Very cozy restaurant, good food (loved the fondue), fine service. My wife and I were there for almost 3 hours eating and playing Scrabble (there's games). Cool atmosphere. Definitely recommended.

Unable to deliver two sandwiches together. The salmon sandwich was puny, otherwise everything was fine. Left without the second sandwhich. Head Up Management!. You should be replaced.

The "kobe" beef burger, was thin chewy and overcooked. There is no way that it was kobe beef. The burger patties at Dennys are bigger and juicier. The staff was unconcerned about my crappy burger. But at least it had goat cheese on it.

Good sushi rolls, but a little pricey. They make them right in front of you at the sushi bar with fresh ingrediants. Would definitely go again when my wallet is fatter. Ordered five rolls for about $80.

I have traveled all over the world and visited many cheap and expensive restaurants, but I had never received treatment like this in this restaurant, which I did not expect as it is such a touristy place. The food is not very good either. If you are in the town of Sitka and want to eat Asian food there are other options in the area. I DO NOT RECOMMEND BAD EXPERIENCE

Loved the spicy tofu and vegetables! My friends love the sushi (mexican roll and scallop volcano roll), my son enjoyed the bul go ki beef. The Korean BBQ short ribs are a favorite too. Attentive professional service.

Great place to eat, i'm here all the time for work and the guys are top notch and the food is excellent. They have a huge selection and are located right next to popular hotels. Give it a try and you wont be sorry!!!

My wife and I stopped in for some sushi and were pleasantly rewarded some some very good items. We opted for the specials of the day -two spicy rolls with a variety of items contained in and on each roll. It was very creative and appealing. The staff was very friendly and very helpful with local knowledge about Sitka. Since it was our first time in that area we asked about other places to go and see and they were quite helpful.

Waited in line. Seemed like a busy place, but then again there were two cruise ships in port today. The person who took our name was very nice. We only waited around 15 minutes for seating inside by the window. We we informed by the waitress they were out of halibut, and a couple of other things. We did not blame her, we realize these things happen. We did go there for halibut. We took a few minutes and went over the menu, and decided to get an appetizer of clam chowder instead of a meal. When the waitress came back and we placed our order she very rudely said” that’s it!?” It seemed that she was upset we only ordered appetizers, or that’s the impression we got when she said that and did not bother to check on us again, but went to the table next to us a few times while we were there. We paid for the food and left. But I would not go back here. If you check my other reviews you can see that I do not normally give 2 star ratings. The soup was very strong on the onion, it was overwhelming.

Atrocious. It looked like it should be a great place to eat. We entered and were greeted by a rather rude man. We told him we had 3, he directed us to a table big enough for 3 but with only 2 seats. We figured he'd get an extra chair, instead he said "oh there's 3 of you? " in an upset tone. We said yes, he reluctantly got us an additional chair. We sat down and began to review the menu. Shortly after, a overly aggressive woman started screaming at everyone and closed the restaurant kicking everyone out. This was at 1pm. This restaurant obviously does not have their act together. They also couldn't care less about their customers.

This place was an absolute disaster. We waited in line for 20 minutes to get in. They gave us one glass of water for two people, and when we asked for another one, the lady told us “you never asked.” !!! We overheard a server talking loudly badmouthing another customer, he called her a Karen! So unprofessional. We ordered the same thing and ended up with two different burgers… both came out ice cold, and the fries were ice cold. Not worth it at all!

Had the sourdough pancakes and they were ok. One was under cooked and the eggs had a different flavor. My son order the prime rib hash and the meat was good but the hash browns that came with it were soaked in butter. If I'm in Sitka again I won't be making the trip to dine here.

Sat down at 11:30 ordered and didn't get our food until 12:10. It was the longest wait for low quality overpriced food. The fish was game-y and the bread on my sandwich was soggy. The ratio of textures and flavors in the sandwich were awful and all I could taste was the chicken. Would not recommend.

Food was great as was the service. 6 layer chocolate cake was huge and very tasty. All the entrees were good as well. I hear that this time of year things slow down quite a bit. 2 weeks ago things dropped off from the summer rush.

General Taos chicken with Shrimp Fried Rice is, by far, my favorite meal on the menu. They’re served separately but I like to combine them myself (as shown in the photo I shared) & it’s delicious! Side note: Ordering delivery takes approximately 1 hr, but can be less depending on traffic.

They forgot our drinks for our delivery. When we tried to call them back they wouldn’t answer. By the time we did get an answer I was put on hold, could hear everything going on. Sat there waiting and it seemed like they forgot about us. Never got our drinks even though we paid for them.

Hands down the best food in Sitka. It’s extremely fast, and the people there are so nice. The food was so good, you could tell it was homemade.

The service is very rude. Bad. And dissapointed. When we ask something small like a water, the waiter just leave without say something and and never come back until our food finish . The worst waiter ever is gentleman with grey shirt on that corner.

Visited yesterday this Asian taste , Japan, korea, viet,chinese , i love the food the fried rice was the best and the wanton soup also, the service was good , the place is near by the pier , and beside the subway food…

I ordered wonton soup and beef bulgogi. Wonton soup was good. Beef bulgogi was awful. I had one bite and told the server I couldn't eat it. I've had beef bulgogi many times before and this was not it. They still charged me saying that since I ordered it I had to pay. I told them I wasn't going to pay for something I couldn't eat but was happy to list for my dojo and drink. Finally they took $10 off and I took home the rice and salad part. Now I see why they are rated so low. I shouldn't checked the reviews before going in. I've worked in restaurants for years and if a guest had one bite of their food and food it inedible we would take it off their bill or ask if they wanted something else. Awful service. Stay away.

Big menu, moderate prices, centric location in Sitka, parking area and moderate flavor. Went many times and Mochi was not available, third time finally was and it was delicious. The sushi combo did not impressed me at all, was very tiny and it was the ugliest rolled sushi I've ever eaten in my life; would preferred you've givven me 4 well made big sushi pieces tgan your 8 piece tiny deformed. The stars I give is because the waiter is very nice.

Best place to eat in Sitka. Really great place to go after getting off the cruise ship or simply getting out of the plane after a long ride. The owner and servers are all very kind. It is the true kind of Filipino hospitality. I was even shocked to find it in Sitka, Alaska. Food reccomendation: Sizzling Pork Sisig, combines crunch, salty, sour (lemon), and rice

It has a big menu, centric location, comftable sittings, decent plating, only place for bubble tea in Sitka, the quantity is generous and fast service. Altough the comunication skills of the staff is not that good, that's the root of most bad review in delivery as I see it. Benedict eggs are quite sloppy. First time trying Filippino food, I tought It would be more spicy....The chicken cashew was really good. I would apreciate if the Tapioca bubbles in bubble tea weren't frozen...

If you're in hunt for authentic Filipino food that tastes like what your mom or Lola cooked, then you found the spot. Everything here is delicious and the service is quick and the staff are very friendly.

We came to Sitka to visit along with my other 7 friends. We were excited upon leaning there’s a Filipino restaurant. We walked in to this restaurant just to be greeted by seem to be the owner, not very welcoming remarks and made us feel we were not welcome. So disappointed. Customer service is very poor. And so we walked out!

So I find the food to be pretty good. However I placed an order over the phone for pickup. The woman on the phone was very rude and we showed up to get the food 45 minutes later. We found they hadent even started making the food. Apparently they didn't find a need to tell us that they were out of one of the ingredients needed for our food. So they waited for us to show up to tell us. So then we had to wait another 45 minutes. And to top it off she blamed my wife for miss ordering and didn't even appoligise.

WOW is all I can say - one of the highlights of our family’s trip to AK - we were spoiled with our cruise line’s food all week yet this lunch was still the most talked about! Do not let the prices mislead you - We did not realize until after we traveled to other ports of call how modestly priced yet DELICIOUS their menu was. Best king crab legs and halibut filets we’ve ever had. The staff went above and beyond and even gave us extra crab legs since we were the last order of the day. Truly special. We wore the butter on our clothes proudly for the rest of the day!

We stopped in with a large group coming from a cruise ship. We were over hungry and tired from the days adventure and we were met by friendly smiles and delicious food. We had the halibut fish and chips, clam chowder, burgers and crab. Even the Philly was great. The woman at the counter even gave my son a dollar to write his name on and post to the wall when I didn't have any cash. The food came fast and was great! Highly recommend the short walk from the main street.

We came from Anderson, SC. This was so good, a great change of pace from the crappy food on the Cruise. Expensive but so worth it. 10/10 please stay open forever.

We came into Sitka today on a cruise. Did research on the best place to get king crab in Sitka and this spot was most definitely the highest rated. Kerry was fabulous! She's very personable. Unfortunately there is a review in here for a place that isn't even this restaurant! Otherwise she would have 5 stars! I think the man that was helping up front is Edwin and he was right on top of getting everything out and Kerry came by a couple times to make sure everything was good and did we need anything more. We had the King Crab Box 1 and it was a lot of food for 2 people to eat. Sure a great experience. So glad to be able to enjoy this gem in Sitka. Thank you Kerry, we will most DEFINITELY be back!

This burger and crab shack is very busy for a reason - great food and fast service. This restaurant is small so if you have a large party, plan to get your food to go. I was looking forward to the halibut sandwich, but they were out of stock. Instead, I enjoyed a delicious Philly cheese steak sandwich. The Sitka Burger was also very good. The atmosphere was great and I enjoyed looking at all of the different decorations, flags, and artwork on the walls. If you ever visit Sitka, don't miss the opportunity to check this place out.

We really enjoyed our Dungeness Crab and Clucker Basket. The chicken tenders were cooked perfectly and very flavorful. The crab was excellent, served with lemon slices and melted butter. Fries were so so. Busy with several cruise ships in town. Had to wait a bit to get a table but the food was worth it. Friendly owners to boot.

There are 2 options- halibut or yellow eye. Both are prepared fresh to order by Scotty and absolutely fantastic. Plenty of Alaskan memorabilia and books to look at during your short wait for food, and while you eat Scotty is a wealth of local lore. There's one table that seats 5 but standing isn't bad either. Definitely recommend for a delicious taste of Sitka

We showed up on a wet and cold day. The place was open but Scotty was no where to be found. After almost walking out, he emerged from the back. He made us some fresh, delicious fish on a stick. It warmed us up. We enjoyed hearing the history and the stories of the area. Loved looking at all the memorabilia too. Give this place a try! It is CASH only and its $20/stick.

A must do while in Sitka! Super fun and unique restaurant decor and history! Halibut, yellow eye, and lingcod lightly fried on a stick for $20 cash only and served with a delicious tartar sauce. Early bird gets the fish. Worth it for the fish and the experience!

Dystopian and perfect at the same time. A place that catches your eye immediately. The food is fresh and delicious. Super clean too. Affordable. Better than ANY fancy restaurant. If you don’t see the owner around, just knock on the door, he is always there, he will open. The best halibut I’ve ever had and I’ve been all over Alaska for 4 seasons. If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. If you want to experience the real Alaskan life, and teleport yourself in the past, this is your place. Highly recommended!🤩We will be back!

The dockside fish shack shanty of your dreams. Incredibly fresh catch. Crispy outside and the most tender and moist inside . (Literally dripping) We got both the yellow eye and halibut. 10/10 on both. Chef also threw in a nice perfectly cooked appetizer of coho that was so dang good. Thank you!!

Hands down the best fresh fish we have ever had!!! To meet Scotty was amazing . So much history to talk about in Sea Daddy . You will leave with full bellies and lots of knowledge about Sitka . We can’t wait to go back !!! Our family was spoiled !

Sea Daddy is the definition of a hole in the wall. If you want fresh fish and a non touristy experience, I would highly recommend stopping! The owner is friendly and knowledgeable and the fish is GOOD.

We had a really nice 1 night stay at the LongLiner. Staff were very very nice, with answers to our questions and flexibility when we had extra needs. Rooms were clean and comfy right on the water. We could walk into downtown and it was not a hard/long walk. Great place to stay in Sitka

A little out of the way. Kinda noisy until quiet hours. Super friendly and accommodating service. Spacious rooms that were clean, well equipped with fixtures and appliances all within good working order. Comfortable beds.

I was basically stranded as my original stay was closed by the time I arrived. The owners came and picked me up at 1am from my other hotel where I was waiting in the rain. Mind you they didn’t have to do what they did. They were so kind, accommodating, and went above and beyond in service and hospitality. The room was very clean, and comfortable, I ended up changing my reservation completely to finish my stay there. Will definitely be returning in the future. The location and scenery were a bonus!

Last minute trip to Sitka- had a Great experience. Aaron at the desk picked us up from the airport and gave us a Ton of great tips and info about the places to eat and see. Also provided umbrellas because it rains here A Lot- so we were still able to walk around and stay dry. Room was comfortable, good beds, and very clean-which I love. Fridge, microwave, and Keurig with pods and coffee fixings in room. Hotel downstairs restaurant -Galley- excellent service, great view, and food was super good. Its not right downtown, however if you are walking and not renting a car it was only like 9 minutes which wasn't too bad. Would absolutely stay here again.

Had the best visit at the Longliner! Staff (Aaron) is super helpful and friendly. Room was excellent, and the sunsets were fabulous. Thank you Longliner for such a memorable stay!!

RESTAURANT: Family visited from outside, and we all enjoyed a great lunch at Longliner. The rock fish n chips were sooo good, also the BLT. The food is really good here!

Caught some King Salmon on a Charter and brought some in to these guys. They whipped us up the most amazing fish tacos with our fresh salmon. Bring your fresh caught fish here and have them work some magic with it! Definitely impressed. Ill be back soon.

4 Stars – Mexican Spot with Surprisingly Great Halibut Not sure if it was a daily special, but the halibut fish and chips was excellent, crispy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Since it’s a Mexican restaurant, they also served chips and salsa alongside the dish, which was an unexpected but pleasant touch. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the food overall was very good. Just be prepared, as prices here are definitely on the high side.

It was great! Their pepperoni pizza is amazing, not too cheesy (which I like) and very good as leftovers, their chicken tenders and fries are also amazing! My cousin was visiting and he ordered the Margarita pizza in a large, and it was so good he ate the entire thing!

Food was great here! I was a bit skeptical given the mix of menu choices, but my food was really good! Especially the salsa! I had a quesadilla with chips and salsa, nothing fancy, but enjoyed every bite. This restaurant is inside a storefront, then down the stairs and on the left down the hall a bit. Definitely not something you’d see or know to go to unless you’re googling places to eat. But I DO recommend it!

Super awesome pizza al pastor and Sonoran enchiladas followed by churros with salted caramel ice cream tonight. Chef Chazaq Luz Pinto Rodriguez is new here and is rocking this place 🙌 A few years ago I tried the place but didn't go back. It's been very inconsistent, I've heard, but they've found a good chef now. The food has greatly improved with a professional quality.

My husband and I eat at Juan’s regularly and we just can’t get enough! The food is always excellent! We have had everything in the menu and we still can’t pick a favorite. The staff is so friendly and happy to give you suggestions (sometimes decisions are hard). We love the Cuban coffee when available! So happy to have this excellent food truck in our sweet town. It’s a must stop when we have anyone in town. You won’t be disappointed at this stop!

The hardest part is having time to take a picture of the food before it’s eaten. These guys don’t miss ever not a single thing on the menu is bad. I send all my employees there and everyone I talk to. Highly recommend them to everyone and anyone! Friendly service and amazing food!

The fact that you’re even able to get Cuban food all the way in Alaska is insane! You’re not going to regret going by and meeting Juan and the team behind the grill. Make sure you refuel before you leave with Cuban coffee 😜

DELICIOUS!!! This is the best food I’ve had in Sitka and I crave it daily. Already planning a trip back across the country to eat here again!

The best bowl you’ll ever have. Period. Chipotle, Moe’s, Qdoba…not even close, and I’ve eaten them all hundreds of times (not an exaggeration). I got the rice and steak bowl, no sauce because I want to taste the ingredients, and it couldn’t have been more flavorful. Perfect seasoning and balance, tender steak strips, and a substantial serving size…which is good because it’s not cheap. But it IS worth it. If you’re visiting or if you live here, try it. Summer and Nicole were as bright and kind as you could be without seeming disingenuous. Juan himself was cool as hell too, a former US Coast Guard rescue swimmer and badass chef too, as it turns out. From jumping out of choppers to chopping up some of the best food I’ve eaten, Juan’s is where it’s at.

If you have not tried their steak tacos then you’re missing out. This is the ONLY place in Sitka that is AUTHENTIC Mexican cuisine. No other restaurants in Sitka do their tacos like they do. They are the only restaurant in Sitka that does not do Tex-mex style. Real. Authentic. Tacos. PERIOD! ¡Que rico!
