Barrys Restaurant, Bar & Lounge offers a charming "Swiss Chalet" atmosphere that adds to the overall ambiance. The communal dining experience adds a fun element to the meal, making it a great spot for group gatherings. The cozy alpine lodge ambience and attentive service make for an enjoyable dining experience. The menu includes generously portioned dishes like summit fondue and rack of lamb, with the cheese fondue receiving mixed reviews.
This is the only restaurant that is open till 11pm late autumn. So yeah. One thing I dont think the lady staff who took our order understand when we asked about if juice under beverage menu is fresh or it's from juice extracts. She answered yes fresh juice it is, and i ordered. Served exactly juice extract.... sad. Otherwise everything here is good, great atmosphere, food presentation and taste. Love the Caesar salad, burger and tomato soup. We also tried our first cheese fondue. It was soooooo gooood. I would return to try more other dishes the next time i revisit. Spent a total of CHF184 for 2 pax. A little over order. Attached with menu taken from my visit. Recommended!

Shared 1 vegan fondue and another vegan mock meat dish among the two of us. The food was decent. They had many other vegan options as well. The service was very good. The one problem I had was that there were so many flies (indoors!) which was quite shocking given that this was supposed to be a fancy place.
Viraf P — Google review
Had the cheese fondue as an appetizer, which was the best part of the meal. The gratin and lamb dishes that followed were incredibly average - I had to verify with the server if I got the right dish because the lamb was flavourless and not tender at all. She was nice enough to replace the pasta with another dish and tried her best. Flies also a problem as others have stated.
Ahmed B — Google review
We had such a wonderful dinner here today. We ordered the Mongolian dinner. It comes with a salad from the bar. The options were really good. Our server was very kind and made our dinner so pleasant. The atmosphere is beautiful and made all the difference with the small town vibe. The Virgin mojito was delicious and so refreshing. We also had soft serve ice cream and the pistachio tiramisu which was also the perfect end to our dinner. We also actually came to Barry’s in the afternoon for fondue which was a nice Swiss experience. Definitely will be back before we leave Grindelwald.
Nadia M — Google review
This was my first time having fondue. I was surprised at how light the cheese was; it didn't feel overwhelmingly fattening or heavy. Our waitress provided helpful guidance for which sides paired nicely with the cheese. We had just enough for four people in our party. We also came to celebrate a birthday, and they provided a little dessert. The cocktails were fresh as well, though slightly pricey. Visiting was worth the experience!
Viggy V — Google review
First time visiting Grindelwald and saw that Barry’s was the best so I booked a reservation for my boyfriend and I to come and enjoy some fondue and this exceeded my expectations. Melanie especially is so amazing. She is so warm and welcoming and did everything to make this experience awesome! So awesome we came back the next day without reservations and she was nice enough to seat us. I recommend this place to anyone who is looking for that traditional Switzerland dining experience and a nice warm welcome from Melanie!
Nina O — Google review
Our experience here was so great we ended up returning a second night in a row. The first night we had the fondue which was excellent, and the whole experience was enhanced by our amazing server Muna who made my birthday extra special with a chocolate muffin and sparklers. The second night we had two salads off the menu and we enjoyed the food immensely. A great spot in Grindelwald with something for everyone!
Elysar N — Google review
We had dinner in a Friday. The outdoor seating was phenomenal with views of the eiger. It was cool and a great spot. We ordered the beef burger with fries and they were delicious. They add a tomato relish of sorts that adds great flavor. We also had two large beers. Haini, Yannick and joana really Made our experience great. Thank you all for the hospitality.

Indian restaurant
Restaurant GoldenIndia Grindelwald offers a relaxed dining experience with stunning alpine views and specializes in traditional dishes from northern India. The menu features a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, with generous portion sizes. Guests can enjoy outdoor seating while savoring authentic North Indian flavors such as Dal Makhani, Matar Paneer, and a selection of naan breads.
Today was our second visit to Golden India being infrequent visitors to Switzerland, however, whenever we are in Grindelwald, we will come back. Today we were greeted by Sydney who was a true gentleman. He spoke with us for a minute or two when we arrived and made us feel super comfortable and very welcome. The food and drinks were brought to our table very promptly and Sydney managed to stay attentive to our needs as well as giving us the space to enjoy our meal. I couldn't speak more highly about the quality of the food and the kindness of all the staff even when it looked like it was getting quite busy around us, Sydney and his colleagues remained calm and confident at all times. Thanks to Golden India for providing a beautiful meal and memorable experience to end our stay in Grindelwald and a special thanks to Sydney for his first-class service. I strongly recommend this restaurant and, if we are ever lucky enough to return to Grindelwald, we will make a beeline for Golden India. Much love and peace to all. x
AJW R — Google review
We visited at night and found the food to be filling and delicious. They also packed our takeaway nicely, which was appreciated. However, the service wasn’t great — it felt like the staff had just had a disagreement with another customer before we arrived. Since it was nighttime, there wasn’t much of a view, so the atmosphere felt like any other regular restaurant.
Monica’s T — Google review
We ordered multiple mains to share and thought they were all pretty tasty. Nice tasting naan 🫓 Great service! Will be back
Jessica V — Google review
The service was good and food was delicious the only thing I would say is that the chicken curry had leg meat rather than chicken breast which is the gold standard. The portions of curry were reasinable with large boiled rice overing naan bread as an option would be more desirable. As the naan bread the price was excessive usually you pay 3.50chf for a naan bread but here it was over 6 chf.
Mohammed S — Google review
Unbelievable food, extremely satisfying. Cold beer, hot food, and excellent recommendations and service from our new friend Sidney from Goa. Lamb vindaloo was bomb, garlic naan was perfect A+
Daniel T — Google review
We went to Golden India on a Sunday evening. We were actually trying to go to the pizza spot, uncle tom's across the street but it was closed, so we said why not eat some Indian Halal. Walking in I asked if the food was halal, but didn't get much of an answer, I Asked again and did. The day before I went to a pizza spot and the worker told me the CHICKEN at Golden India is halal. We ordered 2 dishes - butter chicken, spicy chicken, a couple of naan and a coke. Our total came out to $100. That's the bare minimum you're going to pay in Switzerland, but as an American that definitely is above budget. $40 for a small bowl of butter chicken is not normal. But then again, im in a different country, where everything is expensive, so you can't blame the restaurant the killer is the 6 francs for naan. thats $9! for a naan! Food was good, service was cool, ambiance was alright, good amount of people in there for a Sunday night.

After visited First, we decided to go for Golden India after reading many good reviews online. The food is good, Sydney is very friendly and helpful by suggesting recommended food. Our Asian tummy is very happy.

Steinbock is an informal hotel in Grindelwald that offers straightforward rooms, some with sitting areas. The hotel also features a pizzeria that serves delicious food. Guests have praised the friendly staff, clean rooms, and fantastic breakfast buffet. The location is convenient, close to the Wilderswil station and main road in Grindelwald. Visitors have enjoyed their dining experience at the restaurant and highly recommend trying the pizza and visiting the Grappa bar.
We came to have Pizza, and it was great! The staff is extremely pleasant and helped us with finding a taxi since we missed the last bus. Would love to revisit.

It was rainy cats and dogs, we as returned clients ordered for their pizzas & pasta for our dinner. We were truly amazed by Lucia, whom served us with full of smiles and friendliness on both occasions, such an attentive and efficient staff. Pizza and pasta were delicious and excellent. The owner, please give Lucia a big raise. She is such an asset of your restaurant. Thank you!

I will list out the pros and cons. But overall, I think the pros greatly outweigh cons and I think you should stay here! Cons 1. Our room is on the ground level and right outside our window were people walking around. Bring earplugs. 2. There is no AC 3. They only give you really small shampoo packets. I wish they would fix a bulk container to the shower wall. That is more sustainable. 4. There is no microwave or fridge or kettle. Pros 1. EVERYONE that I met here is so unbelievably lovely. I look forward to seeing Jennifer in the mornings and her making me a wonderful cappuccino. 2. The room is very big. Ours has two desks, two wardrobes, and a large couch. 3. I loved breakfast. I thought it was delicious with a good spread of yogurt, called meats and cheese and eggs and bacon, and the most delicious croissants. given how expensive everything is here it’s a steal. 4. The location is excellent. 12 minute walk from the train station albeit a slight hill. Hotel, also will give you a pass for free buses which you can take from the train station to the hotel. It’s about a five minute walk to Grindelwald first. 5. When we booked the price was great compared to other places
Lucy — Google review
Great location to stay in grindlewald! The hotel is right next to the first mountain cable car station and one of specialty coffee shops in town so we found it convenient. The price is reasonable for a touristy town like this. The room has wonderful view to the town and the mountain. A small caveat is that the curtain is a bit thin and if facing towards the street it could be quite lound in the morning with buses and motorcycles coming through the streets. Bring your own eye mask and ear plugs if you r a light sleeper! Other than that the room is cute and well equipped, even with a bath tub! There is a pizza restaurant downstairs (owned by the same business) if you would like ordering food to ur room.
MY S — Google review
Extremely disappointing experience. We ordered two large pizzas — they arrived like rock-hard bread with barely any flavor. The cheese was unevenly spread and around 20% of the crust was burnt. The restaurant itself had an unpleasant smell, and to top it off, the staff was rude and inattentive. Definitely not coming back. Not recommended.
Mubashir — Google review
Location is about 700m from grindelwald railway station, and it is right next to the building where we get gondola tickets for grindelwald first. Rooms are good. Food is also good. No complaints. I would definitely recommend Steinbock to my friends.
Tushar M — Google review
Free parking is available, and the location is convenient — about a 15-minute walk to Grindelwald station. The hotel provides a guest card for free local bus rides, and there’s a bus stop right in fornt of the hotel that goes to Grindelwald Terminal for Jungfraujoch or Männlichen. Breakfast includes coffee, tea, omelets, bread, cheese, and juice — tasty and filling. The in-house Italian restaurant (Ristorante Pizzeria Da Salvi) serves authentic pizza and pasta at fair mid-range prices for the area. Rooms are spacious, very clean, and comfortable. Staff are friendly and helpful, especially at reception — they waited for our late check-in and assisted with parking. Overall, a great place we’d gladly stay at again.

Expect flies in breakfast area. Staff were friendly and helpful. Very basic room. No fridge no Kettle no iron.

Pizza restaurant
Onkel Tom's Pizzeria und Weinlokal is a charming and cozy restaurant located in Grindelwald. The diverse pizza menu offers plenty of vegetarian options, and the wine list is impressive. The fresh ingredients and unique take on deep pan pizza crust make for a delightful dining experience. Despite some negative reviews, the atmosphere is described as magical, with breathtaking views of the Alps. The staff are known for being polite, welcoming, and warm.
What can I say but this restaurant is absolutely amazing. It is a small cosy hut with very quaint decorations - there are a lot of wine bottles, including very huge ones. The service staff was super friendly and cheerful. Absolutely made our day there. The pizza itself is just fabulous - one of the best I’ve had in Switzerland. Thin crust pizza that has a very nice crunch texture, and the toppings were very well thought out. There’s a huge variety of toppings or types of pizzas you can choose from. There’s pizza is big so do consider the size before ordering! Every customer is also required to purchase a drink. Not a fan of this practice but the restaurant has to make money. For the pizza quality, this is justifiable and is worth it. Because the restaurant is relatively small, and due to its popularity, it is recommended to make a reservation in advance. Otherwise, the waiting time may be very long.
Nahshon — Google review
While visiting Grindelwald, we came across a beautiful restaurant that immediately charmed us. Inside, we were welcomed by a warm, cozy, and home-like atmosphere. The staff were very kind and attentive. We had pizza for dinner – and I must say, it was excellent. The crust was thin and wonderfully crispy. A big plus was the option to choose the size of the pizza. To finish, we couldn’t resist dessert – a sweet ending that perfectly rounded off the evening. An ideal place for a peaceful dinner after a day spent in the mountains. We’d love to come back.
Jakub V — Google review
This restaurant has a warm welcoming and cozy atmosphere making it a great place to enjoy the meal. The pizzas were delicious with perfect balance of crispy crust and flavourful sauce. Being a vegetarian, there were few options for us, so we ordered Margherita and Ala diavola pizza and both were authentic yummy wood fired pizzas. The staff was very friendly. Would love to visit this place again sometime when in Switzerland.
Vishwa P — Google review
A fantastic spot! The staff was incredibly friendly, and the pizza was amazing—especially the Margherita. The real standout, though, was the vanilla ice cream with pumpkin seed oil. The nutty, rich flavor of the dark green oil pairs surprisingly well with the sweet creaminess of the ice cream. I honestly regret not ordering a second one!
Jas M — Google review
We had one of the best homemade-style pizzas we’ve eaten in a long time! The crust was perfectly crispy, while the inside was juicy and generously topped. The balance of flavors was spot on rich, fresh, and incredibly satisfying. The lady serving us was warm, welcoming, and very kind. Even the local beers were surprisingly good! Cozy atmosphere and amazing food highly recommended if you’re in Grindelwald!
Tuqce K — Google review
Really enjoyed our lunch at this restaurant. The pizzas were great. We also really enjoyed the cheese starter. Good portion for the dishes, and service was good and efficient.
Jean N — Google review
This was by far one of the best pizzas I have ever had. If the restaurant had been open the next day we would have come back again it was that good! Now that I'm home I am still thinking about this pizza!

Polished property offering mountain views, restaurants & bars, plus a spa area with a sauna.
Choose Hotel Kruez & Post if visiting this region and you will not regret it! We had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Kreuz & Post twice - 5 nights in July 2024 and 7 nights in August 2025. The hotel is very clean and extremely well situated, just a short walk from the Grindelwald train station, even manageable with luggage. The hotel has its own restaurant with a wide variety of choices, and our stays included breakfast, which was an excellent way to start the day. On our most recent trip we originally wanted to stay 9 consecutive nights, but since 2 nights were fully booked, the staff kindly worked with us, so we stayed 2 nights first and then returned for 5 more nights. To our surprise and delight, the hotel upgraded both our rooms to the panoramic suites for the last 5 days – a generous gesture that our family truly appreciated. If you have the opportunity to book these suites, I highly recommend them. On top of that, the team was incredibly helpful and accommodating, even assisting me when I had made an error with our booking dates. Every staff member we interacted with was warm, professional, and eager to make our stay comfortable. Overall, Hotel Kreuz & Post has become a special place for us in Grindelwald. We look forward to returning and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the region. I also believe that they are in the process of having self-serve laundry installed at the lower level of the hotel, which believe me is fantastic amenity. Cheers! Deb

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Hotel Kreuz & Post. My mom and I stayed here February ‘24 with our ski club. The entire trip was made incredibly special by our stay here. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel every night and we were amazed at the culinary experience. The staff were so personal and had perfect recommendations. Our rooms were clean and the hotel had a really nice wellness center with a sauna. Simone was with us the entire week and also helped make us all feel at home.
Kelly T — Google review
Awesome view from the hotel! Extremely helpful staffs and adequate amenities in the room. Breakfast was sumptuous too! Very near to the train station with walking distance of just less than 5 mins. Plenty of options surrounding as well. Love staying here and will definitely book again when I return to Grindelwald!

I had a wonderful stay! The hotel has a true mountain feel — warm, authentic, and full of charm. The restaurant was excellent, and the breakfast simply outstanding, with plenty of fresh local options. The spa area, terrace, and relaxation room were fantastic — perfect for unwinding after a day in the mountains. The bed was very comfortable, and the room quiet and cozy, ensuring a great night’s sleep. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, making me feel genuinely welcome throughout my stay. I’d happily return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an authentic and relaxing alpine experience.

Stayed at Hotel Kreuz & Post for 2 nights during our stay in Grindelwald. Rooms - 10/10 We got a free room upgrade! It was a beautiful 2 floor room with nice views of the mountains. It was very cozy as well. Service - 11/10 - our heater wasn't working properly, someone came and offered us an electric heater. Our wall outlet converter things weren't working, and they offered to use 2 of them! Location - 10/10 - a few steps from the Grindelwald train station, very convenient, and easy access to activities, hiking, etc. Also, you can hop on the bus from right outside the hotel! Things to note: As an American, this hotel is still pretty expensive. Room service will run you at least $40 per meal, and they will charge you 9 francs to deliver it to your room, so just pick it up yourself. Overall, I believe this is the best hotel to stay in Grindelwald. The breakfast was pretty standard as well. I look forward to coming back if I ever do come back to Grindelwald, this is where I'll stay!
Zayba S — Google review
Close to the train station, the Hotel Kreuz and Post is perfectly situated. But that is really just the start. The rooms are spacious and the restaurant is wonderful. Even better than all the amenities though are the staff. "Helpful" hardly begins to describe it. Specifically I want to call out Ahmed and Suly. Its easy to be all smiles when everything is going well. However our reservation had a serious flaw and these two worked diligently to get it all worked out. They were very professional in the midst of a difficult situation. We are very appreciative of their efforts.
Chet K — Google review
We absolutely loved this restaurant! Out of all the restaurants we visited on this trip, this was definitely the best tasting, quality, and value! I got the Sirloin Steak and the yummy mango and strawberry ice cream! Monique was our server and she was the absolute best! She was so sweet and helpful. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to ANYONE AND EVERYONE!
Maryam C — Google review
Hotel Kreuz & Post in Grindelwald and absolutely loved it. The room was perfect for three people—spacious and cozy, and it gave me such a warm feeling, almost like staying at my grandparents’ house. The location is fantastic, just near the train station, which makes getting around so easy. And the view… honestly, it’s breathtaking. Waking up to those mountains was the highlight of the trip. The customer service was very friendly, and the breakfast was great—lots of variety and everything tasted fresh. The only small downside is that the lift is a bit tiny, but it’s not a big issue at all.

Restaurant «Belvedere» Grindelwald offers a mix of experiences. Some visitors were disappointed with their seating, as they were placed in a separate room with noisy children, while others enjoyed lovely views overlooking the valley. The ambiance may not be initially welcoming, but the fresh and tasty food, such as the goat cheese salad and meat fondue, along with attentive service made up for it. Prices are considered normal for Grindelwald.
Amazing experience. The food was very good and the service was exceptional. The customers were all very respectful to others, even the children! Great view as well. Only downside was the lack of AC but at dinner time it quickly cooled down. Incredible vibe!

I recently visited this restaurant and had a mixed experience. There was a male server with a beard and slightly long, curly hair who I believe displayed racial discrimination. While we were waiting in line, he completely ignored us and invited the Caucasian customers behind us to be seated first. He did not even ask about our situation, which I found extremely disrespectful and impolite. However, I must mention that the other staff members were very kind and welcoming, especially the female server who attended to our table. She was very warm and professional.

Came here for a family dinner and overall had a great experience! The waitress was super fun and talkative and had great recommendations for wine and dessert. We didn’t have a reservation but they were able to seat us quite promptly! Would recommend this place for a date night or special occasion.

The food was delicious and the view is absolutely stunning! I had the trout, which was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The service had a fine-dining touch—attentive without being overbearing. Overall, a great spot for both the food and the atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Great views from almost everywhere in this restaurant. We ate dinners and breakfast there. The dinners were elegant and had options for non-meat eaters, which was important to us. Breakfast was an international array of goodness. There were many different breads, jams, meats, cheeses, yogurts, juices, drinks...I could go on. And, at dinnertime, there was a fantastic piano player that really added to the atmosphere. Love, love love!!!

Went for Fondue, not to stay. Overall a beautiful hotel in the prime location in town, just a stroll from the train station. I have five times five stars for our waiter, but only two for the location of our fondue. Javier was a fabulous waiter. The very best gentleman! Caring, considerate, polite, attentive. Give the man a raise. The location of our fondue though… APPALLING. Looking on the web prior to booking, it looked like an absolutely perfect thing to do to enjoy a sunset fondue in one of their old ski gondolas overlooking the fabulous, earth-shattering view of Grindlewald. Don’t do it folks - it’s a scam. Yes you in an old gondola, but you are tucked away behind the hotel with a marginal view of a minimal part of the region. Like some grimy afterthought. Not at all the image they cook up in their marketing! Such a shame for what otherwise would clearly be a five-star hotel. I can’t rate anything else about the hotel (other than 10 stars for its view), but don’t waste a single penny on a fondue there. Go walk onto the patio, take some photos, and then spend your money on some much nicer place in town.

I really enjoyed spending three nights at this hotel. They have a beautiful view of the mountain. Their service is excellent, and they are very friendly in their dealings. The hotel is also close to the train station. Their breakfast menu is wonderful, and I also recommend trying their pasta from the room service.

Stayed here for one night and it was the best decision I made. The pictures don’t do it justice, you have to see it in person to see how spectacular it is. The rooms and hotel areas are tidy, the staff are very helpful and the hotel location is perfectly situated. We stayed in a South facing room and got a really amazing view of the mountains. The hotel has a really nice spa which includes a warm swim up pool which looks out onto the mountains. The restaurant downstairs serves nice food too, I had the steak with potatoes au gratin and it was 😍 I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again, I can’t wait to return!!

Hotel Spinne was perfect for our stay. The rooms were well sized and had everything we needed. The location was very central, easy walk to the train station and the bus station was across the street. The breakfast was amazing! Many options, homemade omelets and served early every morning. The spa was very nice, clean and well kept. The star of the show was the infinity pool with a view of the Eiger, just wow! We will definitely be staying again!

We stayed at Hotel Spinne and it completely blew us away. The views alone are worth the trip...stepping onto our balcony and seeing the Eiger right in front of us felt unreal, like a postcard come to life. The rooms were spotless, cozy, and comfortable, but what really set this place apart were the amenities and the people. The spa is next-level: sauna, steam room, relaxation spaces, and the infinity pool which is heated, outdoors, staring straight at the mountains. Floating in the pool while staring at the Eiger is something we’ll never forget. Every single staff member we interacted with was warm, helpful, and genuinely seemed to love working there. That kind of positive energy makes a huge difference and adds to the whole experience. The included breakfast was also phenomenal! We tried a couple restaurants in the area for dinner but nothing compared to the hotel's restaurant...my mouth is watering with the memory. Our waiter, Philipp, was awesome! If you’re considering staying in Grindelwald, stop considering the other 3 hotel choices in the area and book your stay at Hotel Spinne. Between the views, the spa, breakfast, restaurant and the hospitality, Hotel Spinne is pure magic. We will definitely be staying here each time we visit!

Very very good hotel. The infinity pool looking out to the mountains was a particular highlight. The breakfast was lovely and the options perfect for a full day of hiking. We could have such a big breakfast that we often could skip lunch which was obviously a nice saver. All the staff where lovely and couldn't be nicer and more helpful. We went to the attached restaurant one evening and the food was very nice. It's perfectly located within the middle of Grindlewald and allowed us to do multiple hikes but travel to nearby areas too. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the hotel to anyone visiting the area

A brilliant stay at hotel Spinne. The rooms are fantastic and the view from our balcony was stunning. The infinity pool as other guests have mentioned really makes the hotel stand out as exceptional alongside their excellent spa facilities. Very good breakfast and all staff were very friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend to anyone staying in Grindelwald.

The views of the Eiger can't be beat from the hotel rooms. It could use a renovation as the rooms, furniture, and bathrooms look dated. But, the service was exceptional. People working there are very friendly. Great breakfast with an omelette station. Very short walk to the Grindelwald train station and Grindelwald First.

We had a wonderful experience at Hotel Spinne in Grindelwald. Special thanks to Zuzana and the team for their prompt and helpful communication—even through the Booking.com messaging platform. Since I wasn’t using international messaging or phone services, their quick replies made everything smooth and stress-free. Compared to other hotels that often take 24–48 hours to respond, Hotel Spinne stood out with their efficiency and care. Highly appreciated!

The pool and spa are spectacular. The breakfast is also very good. The view from our room with the outdoor area was also very nice. The room itself was comfortable however old and outdated.

Hotel Pinte Grindelwald is a charming 1843 alpine-style hotel with down-to-earth rooms that offer stunning mountain views. The dining experience at the restaurant is exceptional, with a seasonal menu featuring dishes like white asparagus. The hotel's location on the main strip makes it convenient for exploring the area, although some guests have experienced issues with hot water and room phones. Despite this, the smaller but modern rooms in another building provide everything needed for a comfortable stay.
Had a pleasant 2-day stay in Hotel Pinte Grindelwald! The room we reserved is spacious and comfy! It takes 8-minutes walk from Grindelwald station and locates on the Main Street (near to the First cable station). Supermarkets (Migros and Coop) are nearby. We received a warm welcome from Reception team! One thing for those concerns the quietness - there would be some chatting or vehicles sound from the Main Street as there is the usual way for people. Except for that, we enjoyed the time while staying in the room!

A huge thank you for your wonderful hospitality during our stay on 11–12 August. From check-in to check-out, we enjoyed one of the very best hotel experiences we’ve had in Switzerland! We are so grateful for the kindness and efficiency of the front desk, and the restaurant and bar team’s impressive knowledge of wines and product sourcing. Most of all, we’d like to recognise your outstanding team member, Pedro, who went above and beyond to make our stay truly memorable. From the moment we arrived, Pedro greeted us warmly and helped unload our car, stacking our four suitcases and hiking gear with care. He personally brought everything to our room, placing the bags and even our hiking boots thoughtfully. Upon our departure, he once again greeted us, and proactively moved our luggage to the car. His kindness, initiative, and professionalism are exceptional, and he is a shining example of the high standards your team upholds. We also greatly appreciated the late check-out today, which allowed us to enjoy a quick two-hour hike in the morning, freshen up, and depart by 1 pm, it truly made all the difference. Thank you again for making our time in Grindelwald so special. We look forward to staying with you again and enjoying more of this beautiful region. See you again soon!

Good dinner. We sat on the patio enjoying the weather and the view. (It is on the main street so expect pedestrian & vehicle traffic and noise.) Salads were fresh. Tried the Swiss dish, Älplermagronen, while good there are other Swiss dishes we have enjoyed more. Service was attentive. We were not rushed after our meal was completed. If you would prefer the check sooner it is appropriate to ask.

Review is for the restaurant: I had a delightful dining experience at this cozy Swiss restaurant. The typical Swiss dishes were exceptional, with the rösti standing out as a true highlight — crispy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The service was top-notch, with the staff being attentive and friendly, enhancing the overall experience. However, it did get quite warm inside, which made things a bit uncomfortable at times. Despite that, the quality of the food and the welcoming atmosphere made it well worth the visit. Perfect for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Swiss cuisine!

The rooms were nice, but unfortunately customer service was the worst I have experience in quite a while. Long check in time, no personal service and multiple misunderstanding and mix ups with collection from the station. The manager at the main hotel was very unhelpful and not apologetic at all. Certainly not the prompt and timely Swiss service I expected. Pinte has a coffee area on the landing however they were out of cups and coffee over 2 days. Overall very disappointing considering the price we paid. If you just want a room for the night this is your place.

Just shocking. Wouldn't call it a hotel. Massively over priced. No customer service, impossible to navigate. Bed was hard as rocks. Walls so thin we were kept up all night from people just talking next door. No coffee or tea in the rooms. Just don't waste your time or money. Gutted we wasted our night and had the worst sleep ever.

Central Hotel Wolter is a laid-back hotel offering relaxed rooms and apartments with balconies that provide stunning mountain views. The location is incredibly convenient, being just a minute's walk from the bahnhof, making it easy to access transportation and nearby amenities such as the supermarket. While some guests found the rooms to be smaller than expected, others appreciated the well-appointed accommodations and the perfect people-watching balcony overlooking the Eiger.
We stayed 4 nights at its apartment so we would be able to cook and prepare food for hiking. The hotel is next to Grindelwald station and very close to Coop supermarket. Our room had view , staff were nice and friendly and provided breakfast. Recommended!!

This hotel will meet all your needs. I'd pay or atleast ask for a room with a view, as this really boosted our stay, the views from my hotel room were beautiful. Breakfast is basic, but does the job. Some staff friendly, others quiet. Rooms clean, and were fine. beds were great for me and had good sleep. If your in a wheel chair, hard mobility or have heavy luggage, the lift access is through the restaurant, pass the bar. Not sure how this is used later in the night, when the restaurant is closed, as this is the only way to access the lift (elevators).

We stayed from 4 to 9 Sept 2025 and were pleasantly surprised with our stay. Rooms were cleaned and fresh towels every day. Staff were so nice and helpful from checking to restaurant to room service . I needed a small screwdriver to fix my suitcase and it was no problem. Location across from bus and train stations makes travel easy. Close to shops and good for an afternoon drink and people watching. Food at breakfast and restaurant is excellent. Very happy to recommend Bert and Annie

Perfect place to stay when the weather is cool and pleasant. The location and rooms are excellent, and the breakfast is quite good. It’s super convenient to go anywhere, and best of all — right across the street you get a breathtaking 180° view of the snow-capped mountains! 😍

We stayed at Central Hotel Wolter for 3 nights. We were a family of four and had connecting rooms. These family rooms are on the side of the building with amazing views. Waking to this epic scenery was definitely a highlight of our trip. The location is amazing, near both the bus and train stations and a few steps from Coop the supermarket. The breakfast buffet was delicious. Luca, the night manager was extremely friendly and helpful with local knowledge. If you are looking for a good priced, well located hotel, look no further

We visited the hotel restaurant, and the food was delicious. We sat outside, enjoying the gorgeous views of the Swiss Alps! I ordered the vegetable soup with croutons, and it was incredibly flavorful and served piping hot. I absolutely loved it! My daughter wanted a burger, but she was disappointed to find out that they only serve burgers until 1:30 PM, and we arrived at 1:50 PM. My husband ordered the farmer's sausage, and he was pleased with his meal. Service and atmosphere were beautiful!

Great hotel with a great breakfast. Very happy that they had bacon & eggs, by far the best hotel breakfast I’ve ever had anywhere in Europe. Crossaints were nice, warm, & fresh. Rooms are great, balcony was nice and covered. They give you local body lotion, shower gel, and shampoo. Felt like a much nicer hotel than a 3 star. The location is about a 2-3 minute walk from station, extremely close and convenient & next to COOP (grocery store) which made meals easy & cheap (they have a microwave there). Pro Tip: Enter through their restaurant for their elevator. We didn’t see the sign when we walked in and saw the stairs. 5/5 - Would definitely stay here again if i’m in the Jungfrau region

Boutique Hotel Glacier is a gem that truly elevates the travel experience. Upon arrival, guests are greeted with stunning views and an atmosphere that exudes both modernity and coziness. The spacious rooms come equipped with luxurious amenities, including private hot tubs and ample storage space, ensuring comfort throughout your stay. The hotel boasts a fantastic restaurant/bar and a spa featuring a hammam and sauna for ultimate relaxation.
Stayed in Aug 2024 for 6 nights. Everything was great, but the stand out for me was the self laundry service. It was so helpful that we were thinking why other hotels don't provide this facility!! Coming to the room, it was super spacious with an unbelievable view. Starting from the front desk to the restaurant staff, everyone greeted us with a smile and always looking out to help. Over the course of our stay, on few occasions, we had dined at their in-house restaurant, and the food (as well as the service) was top notch.

Had an absolute exceptional visit at my favourite place to stay while in Switzerland, specifically Grindelwald! Of course the rooms, location, restaurant, and amenities are amazing, however to me the best part is the staff. From the moment I arrived to when I left, each team member treated both myself and my girlfriend with kindness. By the second day it was as if we were all just friends. They knew a great amount of information on the surrounding areas and even gave us great recommendations.

The view of Eiger mountain from our balcony was stunning! Modern room but keep boutique style hotel. In my opinion, it’s better to book through the Hotel official website. Just one small thing, the deposit amount was very high hope to reconsider about it. Many thanks to all staff they were incredibly welcoming, friendly and helpful. Definitely we will come back one day!

Booked a room at Hotel Glacier and was not disappointed. Our room faced the mountain, which had great views rain or shine. The staff was nice and accommodating. They had an excellent spa. Good massages too, but try to book those in advance as they only have 1 room and 1 masseuse so they fill up. We did the 7 course meal for our birthday and it was great (sit comes in a 5 course version too). Only problem for some folks will be that it is a steep walk to town, so if you have mobility issues, you will need to rent a car. It was not an issue for us so I am not penalizing them for that. Also, they have a great breakfast included!

We stayed in their 1 bedroom apartment which is managed similar to ABNB. Views were incredible but instructions/descriptions were poor and did not mention that, "you have to walk a 1/4 mile steep uphill to the base of the house followed by climbing 3 stories to the apartment (no elevators)". Do not rent this place if you have any physical limitations. Also plan on cleaning the place and taking out all the garbage/recycling otherwise you will be fined heavily.

We had an excellent stay at Glacier Boutique Hotel. We absolutely loved our private hot tub looking out at Eiger North Face. The room was very big too. Breakfast was great! We did not use the spa but it also looks wonderful. Don’t miss the Glacier Fine Dining with wine pairings. We used the house transfer service to town or Grindelwald Terminal several times and it was a small price, very worthwhile. The laundry was included and we didn’t even know it was offered- definitely take advantage of that. Overall I highly suggest this hotel.

Everything about this hotel is perfect. It is outside the main area of town, which provides an incredible view of the Eiger mountain. The photos from our balcony look fake because it's all so perfect. Excellent staff at the reception and restaurant. If you are coming from the train station, it is a steep walk downhill (especially with luggage). Take the city bus to the hotel (bus 123 I think), as it stops directly in front of the property. I can't wait to come back!

Berggasthaus First is a charming mountain top restaurant that offers delicious food and stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Whether you choose to dine on the terrace in the sun or indoors on a cloudy day, you can enjoy a variety of tasty dishes such as Currywurst with tangy tomato-based curry sauce and pork stroganoff on pasta. The self-service system allows for flexibility in ordering drinks and seating options, with indoor and outdoor areas available.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Berggasthaus First, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. I didn't stay there overnight, but the service was very good at the restaurant and the food was delicious. I would reserve beforehand though, as me and my godmother did, because there are a lot of tourist up there. There's also a buffet, but the tables are different for that, they don't have für on them, but we ordered from the menu, so I don't know what they offer. The restaurant had a vegan menu, which was nice for me and my godmother as vegetarians and vegans respectively. They also had Swiss dishes, like Rösti or Raclette, which made us happy as Swiss people. We would definitely recommend the Rösti with Raclette cheese, it's delicious! The Streusel with Rabarber and Berrys was also very good. I would also recommend, if you're also eating outdoors, to wear warm enough clothes even if they have a blanket on the seats. The view is stunning from there, so the money and the cold is definitely worth it though!

Stayed there for 2 nights, weather wasn’t that great however the people made our stay warm and comfortable. Had heard about swiss hospitality but experienced it and it was top notch. The staffs were really kind, location wise it was amazing. Shout out to Dominion and Yanis for their great hospitality and the sweet girl at the bar who was fun and chatty. Would definitely love to come back in the future. Plus the dinner was great, especially the apple strudel and breakfast included😉

STAFF MEMBER YELLED AT MY KIDS AND SCARED THEM! We went here today with our kids aged 5 & 3. Got them the kids fish and chips and everything was great, we were seated right away, the server was kind and sweet, she brought the kids activities for the table, food was delicious, everything was great until we were packing up to go. There were people on the table behind us and there's little space between the two rows of table to our side, so I put the kids where there was space, so they're not in the servers' way. They stood there quietly all tired waiting for us to grab our stuff until a male staff member came and started YELLING at them to move! I was stunned that an actual adult was speaking to children that way! They were there maybe 5 seconds! My kids moved right away and even after that the AH kept going on speaking loudly to himself about them standing there. He was loud enough for surrounding tables to notice and look up. Everyone heard him and saw him tell at the kids. We were right there, he could've asked us to move them instead of addressing children directly in such manner. I was shocked to respond, but after a couple minutes I waited for him to come around to say something and when he didn't, I approached our server and let her know and even she said that she saw and heard everything and he shouldn't have spoken to kids that way and she apologized. I wish I had asked for the manager. I'm hoping to send an email as well. Hopefully no other kids have to get yelled at when they go here. If you don't want to deal with kids, then don't offer a kids menu. That experience completely ruined our day.

The Derby Restaurant Föhrenstube, in Grindelwald, offers traditional Swiss dishes such as cheese fondue and beef stew. The food is well-quality and the service friendly. The prices are reasonable, making it a great place to eat. The view from the restaurant is of Eiger Mountain.
We went here for dinner one night in Grindelwald as we were recommended to try their fondue. I loved it and my wife didn’t care for it as much. I had a mushroom puff pastry appetizer that was excellent and my wife had the tomato soup that was very good.

This restaurant offers a variety of fondue, they come with a few small dishes but they are not quite enough to make one full, it’s best to order the add-ons or something else to go with the fondue. The service was excellent, staff were friendly. Location is perfect too, just outside the train station, in the centre of the town.

We ordered a rib steak and it was cooked to perfection! We asked for medium rare and it was delicious. The service was fast and no reservations required. The atmosphere is you can sit outdoors or indoors and it’s very close to the train station. We were just on a walk for the day and found this place after staying in Grindelwald for two days. I was craving a steak and I have to say that this is the best steak I’ve had on vacation so far and I’ve been to Prague, Greece, and Italy for steaks so far. The only bad part was that it was raining, but fortunately we were under a covered area!

Was disappointed by this experience here. There was a bit of language barrier with the german speaking waitress as her English was very condescending. We waited over 35 minutes for just a simple fondue which is unacceptable given that the restaurant was empty. This place lacks cleanliness and basic hygiene as there was leftover fries and bread on the floor and we could hear the crunching of the leftovers under our feet. However…. The food is delicious. The fondue is simple yet capturing and the roasted beef dish was great. The mashed potatoes were the highlight with a very savory flavor mixed with bacon bits. The dishes were well-balanced and this restaurant definitely would be a 4 or 5 stars if the service and cleanliness was improved.
Eugene W — Google review
The service is terrible and ridiculous. The staff who called Sylvia is extremely impatient and impolite. I suspect either the staff or the restaurant is RACIST. Only the guy staff treats us well. I was having the fondue and still chewing my food, Sylvia kept asking us whether we finished or not. That’s terrible and super rude to us. Also, when I was still looking at the menu, she looked so impatient and kept coming to us to see whether we will order the food or not. However, this Sylvia acted so nice to the Japanese couple, she will ask how’s their food and told them there is a festival nearby when the Japanese couple asked for the bill. Though I did not ask for those information, I can feel the attitude is super different from other table. Never gonna go to this restaurant again. The worst experience ever.
Happyfish — Google review
Came here after reading about the fondue recipe. To borrow from a coffee advertisement: it's good to the last drop. They were able to seat us right away even though we came in without a reservation. We asked to sit outside and there was a lovely breeze. The staff was great and helped us pick a delicious wine to pair with the fondue. Service was quick and friendly. It started raining, and while the awning mostly kept us covered, the staff came over to help us adjust a bit. Then we got an ice cream for dessert, and it was also terrific. It's right by the train station and it was fun to see all of the people coming and going. And while a few other places we'd eaten seemed to have a fly problem, we didn't have any issues here (maybe the breeze helped?). Terrific experience overall! You can tell they really know and appreciate cheese.
Shawn S — Google review
I don’t even know where to start. This restaurant loudly claims to have “the best cheese fondues” — what a joke. The cheese arrived lukewarm, clumpy, and tasted like it had been sitting out all day. I’ve had better fondue at a cheap carnival food stall. As if the food wasn’t bad enough, the customer service was downright insulting. Our server acted like we were inconveniencing them by showing up. It took 25 minutes just to get water, another 20 for bread (stale, by the way), and when we politely asked if the cheese could be reheated, we were met with a dramatic sigh and an eye roll. At one point, staff were literally chatting and scrolling on their phones while tables around us waited. To top it off, when we asked to speak to the manager, they shrugged and said, “That’s just how the fondue is.” Excuse me? If “stone-cold, rubbery cheese and staff who treat you like a nuisance” is their standard, then congratulations — they nailed it. Save your money, your time, and your appetite. If this is the “best,” I don’t want to imagine the worst.

Alpinhotel Bort is a charming alpine hotel located in a serene setting, accessible by a gondola from Grindelwald. The rustic restaurant and cozy fondue parlor offer delicious dining options with plenty of vegetarian choices. Guests can rent e-mountain bikes to explore the area or venture out on nearby hiking trails. The hotel provides simple yet comfortable rooms with modern amenities and accommodating staff.
We spent two nights at Alpinhotel Bort in late May and had an amazing stay. The room was huge, spotless, and packed with great amenities. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming—even surprising our eldest son with a lovely birthday message, which made the stay extra special. Despite our late arrival, they accommodated us without any issue. The hotel is perched in a stunning location with easy access to the First Peak, which offers breathtaking views, and we had a blast on the nearby Trottibikes. Just a note for those driving: the road up is very narrow and partly closed due to construction, so a diversion is needed—plan your route carefully. In late autumn or winter, the cable car is the only way to reach the hotel. The on-site restaurant was excellent, though on the pricier side. A bonus for EV drivers: they have electric car chargers available.

We ate at the restaurant and the food was great! We had the burger and it very delicious and packed with flavor! The fries were also flavored quite nicely. The staff was so great and very attentive. Alexandra was out waitress and she was above and beyond. Everyone else was also spectacular. Recommend eating here having a nice beer with a great view.

We did not stay at the hotel, but the variety of food and drinks offered were mouthwatering! The Bike activities around here is also a MUST DO. It is extremely thrilling and adventurous!! Just check the weather conditions before leaving, as you won't be able to do the activities in dense fog. The views were absolutely ASTONISHING!!

Alpinhotel Bort is like a fairy tale! We absolutely loved our stay. The staff was so friendly and service was excellent. Our room was comfortable and large enough with 4 beds. The bathroom was just down the hall and private for just us. When the chair lift stops at 6pm you are just alone with other hotel guests. Breakfast is included in the morning and we could smell the freshly baking bread when we woke up. Its so serene and peaceful here. We wish we booked more nights at Alpinhotel as it was our families favorite hotel and the best meal we had our whole trip.

What a thrilling experience driving to the Alpinhotel Bort! After a day of exploring, the day ended with a fabulous meal at the hotel with the most kind, helpful staff at dinner. Dori, our waitress, was kind, helpful and patient with our group of 6. It is was wonderful to feel so welcomed. She gave us time, and allowed us a chance to enjoy the wonderful menu at the hotel. Thank you Dori for making our trip extra special!

Did not stay here but stopped here fr a drink and snack. I got an unbaked apple strudel. Staff insisted it’s a cake and it’s fine as it is treating foreigners like people that have never tasted a strudel before !Stick to drinks at this location and avoid eating anything

Ringgenberg is a charming bakery in Grindelwald known for its delicious sourdough bread made with local spring water, salt, wheat, and rye. Visitors can enjoy a variety of breakfast options such as hot chocolate, milk coffee, juice, and various kinds of breads. The friendly staff provides excellent service and the cozy atmosphere makes it a perfect spot to start the day Swiss style.
Fresh pastries and cookies. Service is fast. It is a bit loud inside but nothing the store can control. Got extra to go since their pastries were good and the price is lower than other places too.

My sister and I came for breakfast, the options for sweet and savory baked goods are enough to satisfy our cravings. Coffee selections were fine. I got the cappuccino and it was good. The spinach pastry was great. The vibes inside were nice and spacious.
Eugene S — Google review
Grindelwald Bakery is a welcoming café-style stop with a broad selection of baked goods that all looked tempting. We tried the café frappé, which was excellent, and the vegetarian sandwich, which was fresh and flavorful. The veggie burger was decent but not particularly memorable — and the potatoes served on the side came at a noticeable extra cost while tasting fairly average. That said, the service was friendly, and the overall atmosphere makes it an easy choice for a relaxed breakfast, lunch, or coffee break. I’d definitely return to try more of the bakery items, which looked fantastic.

Grindewald Bakery is a convenient pick-up and go breakfast option on your way to catching an early train or trip to Jungfraujoch. We appreciated that it is open at 6:30am. Müesli is tasty (7.80 chf) and the various chocolate and almond pastries are good. The spinach quiche is good but served cold. We bought various grab and go items twice.

The cafe is in Grindelwald, not so far from railway station. There are a lot of different tasty things: croissants atd. Also you can take a coffee. But something was wrong with the music. And it was terrible.
Lorelin L — Google review
We stayed in Grindelwald for a few days and originally picked this place because it opened the earliest. We had the spinach quiche, almond croissant, and cappuccinos. The people were so friendly and inviting and the food and cappuccinos were delicious! We ended up coming back the next morning to try more and nothing disappointed - we also got a sandwich to go. I highly recommend this place.

I had a very unpleasant experience at this restaurant. When my friend and I walked in chatting normally, the waitress (in the photo) reacted in an extremely disrespectful way. She exaggeratedly covered her ears and said, “You’re too loud and driving me crazy.” Her behavior was not only unprofessional but also discriminatory, making us feel singled out and very uncomfortable. Later, after we bought a pie and politely asked for a fork, she responded with obvious impatience and poor attitude. As paying customers, we deserve to be treated with basic courtesy and respect. Unfortunately, her actions completely ruined what should have been a pleasant visit.
C X — Google review
It seems if you’re not white and don’t speak their language, you will be treated poorly likely due to their racism. Was attended by an older female waitress that treated us disrespectfully and barely talked at all with no eye contact. Gave us the wrong food and rudely said we had to pay and wouldn’t give us the correct food we ordered. We paid or food but didn’t each much, as the food was pretty low quality as well. Overall a racist tourist trap.

Berghaus Männlichen is a popular destination offering panoramic views and serving familiar European dishes. It's known for being child-friendly with a large playground in front of the hotel. The staff is friendly, and guests have praised the clean rooms, comfortable beds, and hot showers. The highlight is the fantastic views overlooking the valley. Visitors recommend activities like the panorama trail and watching the sunrise at the royal walk.
I had the best fries in all of Europe at this spot—crispy, golden, and perfectly seasoned. I’ve truly never had fries like this before! The restaurant itself was spotless, with a wide variety of delicious food and drink options to choose from. What makes this place extra special is the breathtaking view of the Alps. It’s the perfect setting to enjoy a meal with your loved ones—peaceful, scenic, and unforgettable. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⛰️ A crisp alpine breeze greeted me the moment I arrived at 2,225 m—pure serenity. The gondola drops you right here, and the views from the sun terrace are impossible to forget. Simple, hearty food, cozy rooms, and a playground if you’re with family. Peaceful, scenic, and full of charm.

The hotel itself is great, majority of the staff are very welcoming, cheerful and helpful. Though there are a few not so accomodating to english talking guests.. Nonetheless, the hotel deserves 5/5 rating. Perfect stay. However, when it comes to self-service restaurant (that is part of the same location), it's really disappointing. The food quality was horrific and a bit shocking.. In hopes to wash away terrible taste of the dish, we asked if it would be possible to get a glass of simple water. Staff said, buy a bottle of water from fridge.. Somehow expected water in a glass to be an option for on the spot dinning, even if it's just tap water. Doesn't seem sustainable as well to waste a plastic bottle for it. Some bistro restaurants manage to do better.. Can not recommend using the self-service restaurant. Some staff is simply repelling guests from usage of their facilities.

Had a great stay here. The location is incredible and so much better than staying down in Grindelwald town. You have access to hiking trails, and after 5pm when the cable car closes the hotel and grounds are so empty and peaceful…you have the whole mountain to yourself! The staff were very nice and dinner at the restaurant was good. The rooms are simple but very clean.

A very nice place to have a meal after a long day of touring the Jungfrau region. We had the cheese fondue for 35CHF/pp, which comes with bread and potatoes. We really loved the fondue - it was creamy, and the taste was well balanced between the tang from the white wine and the cheesy taste. The small cubes of bread were very crispy and well prepared. We were very full at the end of the meal and thought the portion was just right for 2 people. We also had the pleasure of being served by Simona (I believe she is from Romania). She was so lovely and cheerful, making small talks with us and teaching us how to eat fondue. She definitely made our time at the restaurant even more memorable! Kudos to her!

Overall a great experience! The schnitzel was really good! I did not give five stars just because I cannot say it was exceptional, but I would recommend it or would go back. The prices are a bit expensive but reasonable for the location and the quality of the food. Thank you for the great service!

I ordered the 4-course meal and every dish was beautifully presented and delicious. Beef tenderloin cooked to perfect requested doneness. Even though it might have been a bit too much food for one person, I happily finished everything. Cocktail was delicious too. Both the exterior and interior were gorgeous. I initially sat outside but later moved inside to enjoy the best of both worlds. A big thanks to Carolina for her wonderful hospitality and for recommending this menu. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back. Highly recommend.

We had a fantastic experience at Restaurant Adlerstube! The food was absolutely amazing. Every dish was prepared to perfection. The kitchen and service staff were brilliant: professional, friendly, and clearly passionate about what they do. Thank you to the kitchen and service team for the fantastic experience. The entrecôte was a standout — perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. The pumpkin risotto is from the new autumn menu, and it was delicious. It is rich, creamy, and full of seasonal flavor. For dessert, I highly recommend the poached pears in Port wine with almond foam. This is an elegant and perfectly balanced finish to the meal. The cocktails from the bar were delicious. A perfect complement to the meal and a great way to start the evening. I highly recommend Restaurant Adlerstube to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience. I'll definitely be returning!

Great service from Linda which made our experience a pleasant one. We ordered different dishes - salmon, another type of fish, burgers, steak and fondue. I was very fortunate to get to spend the night in this gorgeous location. The hot shower after four days of trekking was amazing. The hotel is cozy, food is delicious, and staff were very nice and helpful. It was especially nice to have a quiet evening here on the side of the mountain after most people had gone down.

Really great location on our hut hike. The room was sufficient, however, the bathroom shower was backing up and was pretty gross. Also, the main dining room has a fly infestation far beyond what I have recognized as normal in Switzerland. I feel like they should do something about it.

We stumbled upon Berghaus Alpiglen after a long hike from Eigergletscher to Alpiglen, and it was the perfect stop! Located right by the train station, it has limited food options, but it’s an amazing place to rest and enjoy lunch with stunning mountain views. The food was great, and the service was friendly. Chinese restaurant
Jasmine Garden serves up some genuinely good Chinese food. We loved it enough for a return visit! The Stewed Bean Curd with Chili Sauce, "Lo Hon" Vegetables, Fried Rice, and Season Vegetable were all excellent. They also cater well to dietary needs, offering vegetarian and vegan options, and are happy to accommodate requests like adjusting spice levels or omitting ingredients (e.g., no garlic, no egg). The key to a great experience here is simple: make a reservation. The restaurant opens at 6 PM (for dinner), and the owner, who appears to manage the entire front-of-house solo, controls seating very carefully. With only one cook, she paces orders to ensure food quality and timely service, thus preventing long waits for those who are seated. This system, evidently developed over 20+ years, might mean seeing people without reservations turned away, especially when the kitchen is at capacity. Contrary to some suggestions I read beforehand, this system did not appear discriminatory. I observed her turn away various groups, including several Chinese parties, when they were full, and also seat people of diverse backgrounds. It seems to be a practical approach to manage a busy restaurant with a small kitchen team, aiming to balance the cook's workload and ensure each table is served efficiently. While the policy could perhaps be communicated more clearly at the door, it's her method of ensuring diners receive well-prepared food without undue delay. Calling ahead (around 5:00 PM to 5:30 PM for a 6:00 PM table on the same day) worked perfectly for us. Once you have a table, the service is fast. Do note that, as is standard for restaurants in Switzerland, no outside drinks are allowed. If you plan ahead with a reservation, you're in for a treat.
Albert W — Google review
Small restaurant and need to arrive early or make a reservation. Ordered yang zhou fried rice, stir fry beef in black bean sauce, curry vegetables and sweet and sour pork. The fried rice is flavorful. The sweet and sour pork is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Didn’t try the beef because I don’t take beef. But my hubby says the dish is delicious. Curry vegetables can give it a miss.
Wendy K — Google review
Given that you are in Switzerland and in the heart of touristy Grindelwald, expect the meals to be expensive. Having said that, if you are craving for Asian cuisine, this restaurant serves good Chinese food. Both the chicken with black pepper sauce and pork spare ribs were delicious.
Ron — Google review
This Restaurant is Seriously Underrated! As a Hong Konger, I was genuinely surprised by how authentic and delicious the food here is—every dish tastes just like home! The fact that everything is prepared by a Hong Kong chef truly shines through in the flavors. What made the experience even better? The chef went above and beyond when I mentioned my egg allergy, carefully asking about my restrictions to ensure every dish was safe for me to enjoy. That level of attention and care was truly heartwarming. On top of the amazing food, the service was outstanding. The waitress even spoke Cantonese, which made us feel incredibly welcomed and added such a warm, friendly touch to the dining experience. If you’re craving real Hong Kong flavors—or need a kitchen that takes allergies seriously—this place is a hidden gem you shouldn’t miss!

Best Chinese Cuisine Ever !!! 超級好吃的中餐 Very authentic, even better than many restaurants in Asia. Really appreciated when you can have good Asian food abroad.
Angela — Google review
We visited this small, cozy basement restaurant because it reminded us of our favorite place in Bangkok. It’s not a fancy or high-end establishment, but in Grindelwald — where Asian cuisine is extremely limited — it stands out for offering real, genuine Chinese food. We ordered the crispy duck, sweet and sour pork, beef fried rice, stewed vegetables, Mapo tofu, and extra white rice. The crispy duck was a standout — crispy, flavorful, and deeply satisfying. The Mapo tofu hit the spot as well; it wasn’t the best we’ve had, but it was comforting and well-prepared. The stewed vegetables were a bit bland on their own, but once mixed with the duck sauce, they became surprisingly rich and enjoyable. Overall, the food pleased everyone in our group, from age 9 to 70. There are a few quirks to be aware of: the restaurant charges CHF 2 per person for tap water, and while one portion of chili oil is complimentary, each additional portion costs CHF 2. We understand this may be a way to manage varying tourist expectations and habits, but it did feel a bit nickel-and-diming, especially considering the already high prices for Chinese food in the area. It’s a very small place — maybe eight tables total — so we strongly recommend making a reservation. Otherwise, arrive just before 6 p.m. when they open, as there is usually a line. Despite the extra charges, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and would absolutely recommend this spot if you’re craving authentic Chinese flavors in Grindelwald. It’s a rare and satisfying find in a town where variety can be hard to come by.
N K — Google review
Jasmine Garden is good, if you are craving Chinese food and can appreciate a more Westernized Chinese menu. Cantonese fried rice tastes pretty authentic. Mapo tofu and beef with black bean sauce have good strong flavors. Corn and chicken soup is satisfying. Dishes are a bit pricey (20-30 francs each) given the portion size, but cannot complain as this is the one of few Chinese restaurants in the region. Ambiance is okay: the restaurant is small and below ground, but quiet and clean.

The Aspen Alpin Lifestyle Hotel is a charming rustic-chic chalet-style hotel that underwent a complete renovation in 2012. It offers a unique sun terrace right on the ski slopes, with hiking trails at its doorstep. The hotel features two restaurants, a bar, and a spa area with stunning mountain views. Guests praise the helpful staff and cozy atmosphere, with some suggesting additions like free bikes for guests and picnic boxes for outdoor enjoyment.
Staying at Aspen Grindelwald felt like stepping into a fairytale. From the moment I arrived, everything radiated warmth, luxury, and the charm of the Swiss Alps. The view alone is breathtaking — snow-capped peaks, fresh mountain air, and the cozy Alpine atmosphere that instantly makes you feel at home yet completely spoiled. But what truly stole my heart was the restaurant. Oh, where do I even begin? The food is pure art — every dish is a masterpiece that awakens all your senses. The flavors are bold yet elegant, the presentation is picture-perfect, and every bite feels like a journey through the finest Swiss ingredients elevated to perfection. Whether it’s breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the chefs seem to craft magic on every plate. The service is flawless — warm, attentive, and genuine, with staff who anticipate what you need before you even say it. Dining here felt less like a meal and more like an unforgettable experience. I can confidently say it’s one of the best culinary experiences I’ve ever had anywhere in the world. If heaven had a hotel, it would be Aspen Grindelwald. I can’t wait to come back — for the view, the peace, and most of all, that out-of-this-world restaurant that made me fall in love with the Alps all over again.

Very unfortunate and frankly, surprising experience at this hotel. We booked 2 rooms for 4 nights in August. We were extremely excited for our stay, but had a family emergency that required us to fully change all of our plans and take the next flight back home. All other accommodations were of course understanding of this, but this one hotel simply refused to be kind or flexible in any way. We didn't even check into the room at all, so the hotel incurred no expense whatsoever. Shocking to pay thousands of dollars to receive such poor customer service.

Andrea, Sophie, and Femke where great. Breakfast and dinner servers were also great. Spa massage therapist was VERY bad. I left with the same body aches I walked in with. I wanted to relax and feel better after massage, I felt the same. Waste of money. My wife and I were very hot at night. No air conditioner and no fan in the rooms. I would never come back to this hotel in the summer or fall months. Sleeping hot is very uncomfortable. Views from our room was also obstructed by the "suits" at the same hotel property. Property was very clean and food was really good. Nice and helpful staff, all of them.

Everything about this hotel is amazing. Check-in was quick, bed was comfy, room was spacious and sparkling clean. The view from the balcony is priceless, so was the walk in the area around the hotel. The breakfast was very good and the staff were welcoming us with smiles (special thanks to Pedro). Notes: Bus 123 stops nearby the hotel and takes you to town. The hotel gave us free bus tickets during our stay. The road to the hotel is a bit narrow and hence you need to be careful if you are driving.

The Aspen Alpin Hotel in Grindelwald was absolutely incredible. The rooms were very spacious and cozy, and the views were breathtaking at every angle. Everything was incredible! We stayed here during our elopement in Grindelwald and it was absolutely perfect. The staff even left us a sweet welcome gift to celebrate the occasion! ROOMS- The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the toiletries were above and beyond! But the best part of the room was THE VIEW! Absolutely amazing views of the mountains. The robe and slippers were super plush and a wonderful luxury touch. SPA- the spa was absolutely wonderful! Incredible views from the hot tub and the sauna and steam rooms were so relaxing. We both had a wonderful massage while we were here. RESTAURANT- the included breakfast was delicious! A very wide variety of tasty hot and cold foods, you could eat something different every day! We dined at the restaurant twice and the food and service were also great. LOCATION- again, the VIEWS! It is about a 30 minute walk to Grindelwald Grund train station (where you can get trains and busses most places) and there's also a local bus that stops right in front of the hotel every hour or so and goes to downtown Grindelwald. Just know that the last bus from town to the hotel leaves at 6:45pm and the walk back is quite difficult uphill! The hotel also offers a shuttle for 40chf.

Excellent service and great taste. Special thanks to Raj kumar and Shami. Me and wife visited today . Tried chicken fried rice and chicken pizza. All items were halal. Great taste. And good quantity

We ordered Chicken tikka masala pizza and Green and red curry. (Only Chicken Halal) Absolutely delicious! Every bite was full of flavor and perfectly cooked. The ingredients were fresh, the presentation was beautiful, and the service was excellent. Truly a memorable dining experience — highly recommend! Will stop by again.

Be sure to check inside the restaurant before ordering. After we ordered and sat we noticed a swarm of flies in the dining area. The tables were dirty and the order took so long that we left. After we waited 15 min the party that ordered before us asked about their order and were told another 20 min. We were on a time crunch with a tour so we could not keep waiting. All we ordered was chicken nuggets and fish and chips. We took the loss but should have checked reviews of the place first. In the pictures you can see tiny black streaks. Those are the flies in the swarm.

I’m not sure why people keep saying it’s expensive here. Switzerland is expensive in general. This place is the cheapest spot for a pizza. It’s under 20 while all the other places in grindelwald are over 25+ just for a cheese pizza. These tourists come and complain. I’m a tourist and I budget for food so I don’t end up at the coop like these cheapos. The food vs. value was good. You can’t expect a Michelin Pizza at this price in Switzerland. If you’re on a budget, this place is the cheapest you’ll find in Grindelwald. Otherwise walk down to the coop. Pizza was fantastic, the curry was amazing and so flavorful. Definitely recommend this little gem. Thanks for the good food and clean restaurant.

No frills place with good food! Green curry is a standout. Big plate- easily can be shared by 2 if you aren’t too hungry. Spicy by European standards but just perfect for the weather. Must try in Grindelwald. Wish we came back to try other dishes. They have pizza and chicken too. Wasn’t able to try but they (family) said it was also good. Forgot what the noodles is called but it was a hit too.

We had room service one night from the grill and can see why they have such bad reviews. I’ve had beef tartare MANY times in my life and this was the first time I discovered they put cognac in the meat. When I first tried it, I thought it tasted a bit strange but mustered on since we were paying a fair price for it already. About a third of the way through I realised what made it taste strange was the alcohol and we called reception and they confirmed that they had alcohol in it although it was mentioned NOWHERE in any shape or form on the menu! Some one from the restaurant then came up and said ‘because you already ate half of it, we can only comp half’. I actually spat out a bit of it in tissues so should I have showed those and said I didn’t eat it so they would not think I I was being a cheapskate?? The whole experience was very unpleasant. We are not cheap skates trying to get a free meal but they certainly made us feel that way and we didn’t go back. The 2 stars are for the yummy bread rolls. Oh the portions are also small if any one was wondering. And when we asked for a simple green salad they said they couldn’t accommodate that and you can only order things from the menu which were basically green salads with other things added to it. So not accommodative or customer service oriented at all

The dinner at BG's Grill was a very pleasant experience. They offered a set menu with option of number 3,4,5 and 6, as well as a'la carte. We opted for set menu as it looked very interesting (modern takes on Swiss dishes and ingredients), and there was a vegetarian set menu option which is what I usually go for, although I am not a vegetarian. The dishes were very tasty and presented in a very attractive way. The waiters had a very good knowledge of what they served and provided us with good description of the dishes without imposing on our privacy. There was not too many complementary dishes that came between the courses so we not too full after eating our 4 chosen dishes. The ambience and the decor of the restaurant was modern but at the same time very cosy. We would definitely come there again if we return to Grinewald. The only thing which dampened our experience was that when we came to the restaurant we were sited at the table that we didn't like. We asked to be sited at another table but were told it is reserved for someone else, while at the time of the booking we were not informed that we can choose a specific table, as we would definitely not chose the one we were sited at. Later while the people for whom the table was (apparently) reserved came they actually asked for another table which was given to them. Don't get me wrong, I don't alway get the table I want at every restaurant, but the manner in which it is done is usually much less abrupt and authoritarian.

The lamb rack steak was perfectly cooked and delicious. The amuse bouche was delicious, as was the bread before the meal. The sweets at the end were also delicious. The staff were all professional and friendly. The price is on the high side due to the excellent service, but it was one of the best experiences I had during my trip to Switzerland.

Breakfast are delish alot of options to pick from, croissant, cheese, fresh juices, champagne, coffees. We included in our booking and it's worth it. We also include 4 course dinner, which is great as well, the portion however they could add more. Will definitely come back.

We ate at BG's for my birthday dinner. We booked directly with the restaurant earlier in the day and arrived at 6P. The atmosphere was very calming and everything was clean and tidy. The staff was absolutely wonderful and the chef, OMG, what a kind man. Prior to dinner he came out welcomed us personally. The food was delicious from beginning to end. The waitress gave us recommendations and we took her up on most of them except the cheese plate. As an unexpected treat, she presented us with an array of different breads alongside of a mix of olive oil, sea salt and pepper, and butter. On the side she gave us a type of spiced whipped cheese. It was honestly one of the best non-appetizers appetizers I've ever had. Then the food came. I had Irish lamb while my mom had steak sourced from the local Swiss cows. The meat was cooked perfectly likely due to the chefs meticulously attention to detail. Our waitress apologized for the delay advising that the chef really took his time and continued to tell the kitchen that he had to get it 'right' for me. Like OMG! How kind! Even the French fries were delicious. Oh, and if you have children (I don't) but we saw quite a few there ranging from babies to teens and the restaurant appeared to be good at accommodating them. There were high chairs, chicken nuggets, and hamburgers. All the way around I enjoyed my visit to BG's and would return.

Fantastic food and service located in the Bergwelt Alpine Luxury Resort in Grindelwald. A must visit if you are coming through the town or staying at the Bergwelt and a beautifully designed establishment. My wife and I visited twice and tried a number of the dishes, with no complaints about any, even down to the bread. Highly recommend the BBQ Short Ribs and Chicken/Poulet dish. Dessert is incredibly yummy, our server was able to get chef to make a special sampler platter for us, thank you! Fast service and all around wonderful waitstaff and bartenders!

Nestled at an impressive altitude of 1956 meters, Bergrestaurant Schreckfeld is a charming establishment built in the traditional Alphutten style back in 1994. Located within the stunning Grindelwald First ski and adventure area, this mountain restaurant offers a delightful escape for those looking to indulge in authentic Swiss cuisine while soaking up breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks.

Rude racist MALE staff/owner, Asians avoid! My mother had ordered some food/drink and had been waiting for us in the restaurant for an hour, before we went back to fetch her. One male (big, bearded guy) came by and ask if we want to order something. When we said we are leaving, he turned hostile and said “this is not a waiting area and you have 2 min to leave!” He continued to grumble loudly, while he walked away from us. In other reviews, I also read about a rude, MALE guy, who is racist towards Asians. To be fair, the other female staff is polite and said it is fine when we said we will order something for our mom while she waits for us.
Kenny L — Google review
Racist & lack of hospitality in my opinion especially when: I asked to the male waiter, can I get the tap water from your kitchen? He replied:” You can take from toilet”. Really guys? From toilet? Is it hygiene? He tried to trick us to order 4 cheese fondue for each of us, which 1 cheese fondue is enough for 4 people because it is a large portion. He didn’t allow us to get inside the restaurant, only in terrace while people inside got warm. Really bad experience

Don’t listen to the other reviews! This place is incredible in all ways. We got here at around noon, and there was no wait to get a nice table at the edge of the veranda. The food was INCREDIBLE - I got the butternut squash soup with sausage and bread, and my wife got the fried veal sausage with (incredibly crispy!) fries. The staff are so kind - the owner extended out the overhang when it got sunny. It got pretty busy when we left around 1, but it only took about 5 minutes to flag them down to pay the check. 10/10 eat food here. amazing vibes.

Very disappointing experience, mainly due to the unprofessional behavior of the manager. We ordered several coffees and a cake. The coffees were served, but the cake never arrived. After waiting for a long time, I politely reminded the waitress, as we wanted to enjoy the cake before our coffee turned cold (especially since it was already chilly in the mountain). Still, nothing came. When I approached the staff again, the manager suddenly appeared with her dogs and, instead of addressing the issue, she told me to sit down and that I was “not allowed to talk to the staff.” She even made an unnecessary comment, saying, “It doesn’t mean you’re a rich man that you can order whatever you want. We serve everyone here.” This was very disrespectful. I clarified that I never claimed such a thing – I simply wanted the cake we had ordered to go along with the coffee. By that time, the coffee had already gone cold. The manager raised her voice in front of other guests in a very unprofessional and unpleasant way. Out of respect for the people around, I avoided escalating the situation. The café itself is nice, but the management completely ruined the experience. Unfortunately, this was the first café in Switzerland where I encountered such poor service and unprofessional treatment

RONALD C — Google review
The same old lady mentioned in all of the previous low reviews is still here, acting as owner of the place. She is extremely rude and clearly cannot handle running the café properly. There is nothing special about this restaurant , and thank God she’s located and staying on the mountain — at least fewer people have to deal with her attitude. Customer service, respect, and basic hospitality are completely missing here. Owning or managing a restaurant or café requires treating people kindly, which is not happening at all. I honestly cannot recommend buying anything from this place unless you are desperate and she happens not to be there

Romantik Hotel Schweizerhof Grindelwald is a luxurious art nouveau hotel offering understated rooms, some with stunning mountain views. The spa is a major highlight, featuring massage jets, treatment rooms, an ice grotto, and a pool with panoramic mountain vistas. The on-site restaurant serves dishes made with home-grown vegetables and herbs. Most rooms provide balconies to admire the Eiger massif. Guests praise the friendly staff and convenient location just minutes away from attractions.
Stayed here for 2 nights. We were given a room with shared common area. It was a bedroom in one of their residence apartments. Very weird set up. Also, was not aware that Grindelwald hotels do not have air conditioning due to altitude. It was 80 degrees while we were there and the windows did not have screens so unless you want to risk bugs/bats getting in, it was hot and stuff overnight. The spa was the best. Our massage therapist was fantastic. Also, the pool and sauna area was great as well. The hotel room key was attached to a large, heavy metal Keychain which was not fun to luggage around.

With my boyfriend we had dinner at this place. Besides delicious 3 course dinner we enjoyed excellent wine. The selection of food and wine was truly extensive, so everyone is sure to find something they like. The meat is locally sourced, which we greatly appreciated, as well as the freshness of the ingredients. The beautiful surroundings created a romantic atmosphere, and the extremely helpful staff made the whole experience even more pleasant. We will definitely be happy to return here and recommend it to everyone.

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Schweizerhof for two weeks early in September. This was a special holiday celebrating my retirement earlier this year and a return to a wonderful part of Switzerland we last visited more than 30 years ago. The hotel was everything we had hoped for and more! Situated near the main station it made a perfect base for us to travel around the area. We took a south facing room with balcony looking across to the Eiger and the Mannlichen which was just perfect, as was the rest of our room. We were on a half-board booking which included a large buffet breakfast and superb evening dining served by friendly and very helpful staff. Our package also provided packed lunches and afternoon tea when we needed them. All the staff looked after us exceptionally well – nothing was too much for them and we had some lovely conversations and enjoyed their wine and beer recommendations and a superb cheese fondue. The Chambermaids kept our room neat and tidy, even carefully folding and presenting our nightwear for when we returned! The garden is also a great asset which we enjoyed on several afternoons, sitting under a parasol enjoying a coffee and just relaxing. We would definitely return here, perhaps in winter to enjoy the skiing season. Thank you for a wonderful two weeks.

I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel. I was made to feel so welcome by all of the wonderful staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them. My room, which looked straight out to the mountains, was spacious and spotlessly clean and the bed couldn’t have been more comfortable. The breakfasts were amazing and there was a huge variety of food. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful gardens and is a very short walk from the train station. I felt very at home there and will definitely stay there again.

We had an amazing time here at the Romantik hotel Schweitzerhof Grindelwald. From the very first moment we were welcomed by friendly staff who were always attentive to our needs. Our room was quiet, spacious and beautifully decorated. The hotel had great views of the Eiger and was close to the railway station which had good convenient connections to the nearby attractions. The restaurant staff were friendly, polite and knowledgeable. The breakfast buffet was extensive with quality produce. The half board menu was well balanced, beautifully presented and delicious. The menu was changed daily by the head chef, who was pleased to share our feedback personally on a daily basis. We would love to return in the future.

The Best Spa Experience in Grindelwald During my stay in Grindelwald, I tried several different spas, but this one quickly became my favorite. Despite being more affordable than many others, the quality here felt truly exceptional. -Generous opening hours (4 p.m. to 8 p.m.) give you plenty of time to relax -While there’s no jacuzzi in the pool area, the sauna facilities are outstanding -Lockers are thoughtfully stocked with a lightweight guest gown and disposable slippers — very convenient -A peaceful relaxation area with deck chairs is perfect for unwinding with a book between sauna sessions -Three distinct sauna experiences: a steam sauna and two Finnish saunas (high and low temperature). The steam sauna can get intensely hot, so the door is sometimes left slightly open for comfort -An ice station provides a refreshing cool-down after the heat -Elegant, stylish décor throughout Check-in is at the hotel reception, where you’ll receive keys for both your locker and spa access. The staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. A place I would gladly return to — highly recommended!

Enjoyed my short stay at Blumlisalp Grindelwald, just loved the breathtaking view from my hotel room balcony, I felt I could just reach out and touch the mountains 🤩 wow Beds could be better, didn’t sleep that well the first night but got used to it the next day. It was hard to communicate with hotel, since they wouldn’t answer their phone not sure why, but only through email. Loved the breakfast, coffee and fresh croissant, the butter tasted heavenly, felt like it was made right there!! Overall the stay was very good with a convenient bus stop right in front of the hotel 👍👍

I’ve never experienced such horrible service at a hotel. The staff was not only rude, but downright insulting. Even the manager had no sense of professionalism or courtesy, which is shocking. We couldn’t take it any longer and left the hotel after staying 1 night. To make things worse, the Wi-Fi was barely functioning, making it impossible to stay connected. It’s clear they have no interest in guest satisfaction and are actively ruining what could be a decent business. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs.

The location of the hotel was good for quiet hikes and an amazing view. The rooms were small and sparse and the room we got seemed to be the smallest of the hotel. A nice balcony though with an incredible view. The room did not have an outlet in the bathroom and did not come with a hair dyer. I asked at the front for a hair dryer and they said it cost 30 USD to borrow the hair dryer. A hair dryer costs less than that in the USA. The breakfasts were very nice. The restaurant was amazing but pricey so we did not eat there often. The smoked salmon was great!

Wow! If I could give this hotel 6 stars I would. Amazing views, clean rooms, and delicious continental breakfast. Staff was very friendly and the restaurant was good too! Fairly priced fondue for dinner. Breakfast is included for hotel guests and all fresh from the attached farm. Meats, cheeses, yogurt and fresh milk and orange juice. The view is absolutely stunning from all rooms and restaurant! We received a free bus pass for the city of Grindelwald for the duration of our stay. WiFi may kick you off occasionally but overall very easy to stay connected without using data. You can see rocky peaks and even glaciers from the windows! Easily “rent” an outlet adapter or hair dryer for a deposit of 10 CHF (returned upon checkout). We did not have any CHF cash, so they accepted deposit of $10 USD which we received back at checkout. Would absolutely stay here again!!

Do not go here. Worst hotel I’ve ever been. No elevator, old room with no AC. Poor WiFi and bad customer service. The hotel also doesn’t provide water. The owner is not welcoming to the non-native speaker and yells at guest who chose not to go to the hotel restaurant. Also, the hotel restaurant does not have English menu. The hotel is far away from Grindlewald town and the bus stops after 7 PM.

Wowwwww! This hotel couldn't be in a more beautiful location. Nestled right under the mountains, the views are incredible. From our balcony it was the most beautiful view I've ever seen. Alpenhof is a charming hotel with warm and comfortable rooms, some of which feature balconies. The staff is known for their exceptional hospitality, providing helpful tips and even complimentary visitor passes. Guests have praised the delicious Swiss dishes served at the hotel's restaurant and enjoyed stunning views from their balconies. While some found the wooden construction to be a bit noisy, many appreciated the convenient location near the town center and the friendly service provided by the staff.
The best place to stay in Grindelwald. You take a drop at the train station and start walking uphill, the Eiger mountain will start looking more prominent and crystal. The wooden property stands in the midst of the meadows with the snow clad mountains all around. The owner lady is very humble, full of gratitude and provided us with a free upgrade. The gentleman who runs the restaurant is equally decent, helpful and checks with every guest about their food preferences along with suggesting what's best. The rooms are spacious with most of them having balconies to the south - they are Mountain facing with a great view. Neat and Clean rooms with all necessities available. The parking has a lot of space for all guests. I appreciate the attention to detail which the owners have thought through and every corner is pitch perfect. It's a lovely mountain lodge-style hotel close to the station and overlooks the Eiger cliffs, so I really like it. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty, and the staff were friendly and polite. It's a steep uphill climb from the station, but it only takes about 5 minutes, so it's not a problem.

Absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Alpenhof! The views from the room were unreal, waking up to the mountains every morning was a dream. The staff were super friendly and helpful, made us feel right at home. Breakfast was a highlight, especially if you love good bread, jam and cheese, 😋! Great location too, just a short walk from the train and town. ( It’s a bit of a climb to get there, but the view makes it so worth it) Would 100% stay here again. Cozy, peaceful, and just beautiful all around.

Wonderful room, incredibly friendly staff, and a gorgeous location in Grindelwald. The room was spotless and so comfy, and the staff was very welcoming and friendly. Would love to stay here again. It's a hike up to get to the hotel, but so worth the work!

The rooms with mountain view is stunning. The staff is friendly and helpful. It is close to the train station, which is a plus. The breakfast is included and very good, so a huge plus as meals are expensive here in this tourist spot in Switzerland. Coop supermarket is close by so that is convenient as well. It is not situated right in the middle of where all the shops are, so when there is a music street fest going on, it is actually good because it is nice and quiet - far away enough from all the ‘action’, but close enough to walk there. Overall, a very good experience and stay for Grindelwald. A word of caution - since it is an older hotel, there is no AC so as many European destinations get warmer in the summer, these older hotels get really hot now.

I had really bad expereince in this hotel. The old white guy works in cafteria was terrible. He was a racist. He definitely discriminate the asian people. He even yelled to asian customers. How can you imagine that kind of servies? I spent quite high prices, and I feel really unpleasant for this experience. If you see my review I hope you can do something with this.
최연정 — Google review
I have received racism from my grandfather (who has several red scars on his face) who was serving breakfast at the hotel. During his three days of stay, I watched him serve and got beaten up, and he constantly sighed and got angry, even as Asian people (Chinese, Japanese, Taiwanese, Korean, Indian) asked him what coffee he'd like, and when Asian people left. It was surprising how different white people were to order. I guess I paid for it and didn't have to suffer racism. I think we'll need a lot of staff training on this hotel . Throughout my stay in this hotel, I was offended whenever I encountered this staff member.

Located along a scenic path that offers breathtaking views, this charming restaurant provides an inviting atmosphere to relax and recharge. Whether you're enjoying a cold beer or indulging in their famous garlic bread, the friendly staff ensures you feel right at home.
Incredible views and tasty food! We stopped by here while hiking the Flower Trail from First, and it definitely hit the spot. So amazing to sip a cold beer while looking at mountains. Also great to get away from the crowds on First.

My husband and I have been to a few fine dining places and this place still amazed us in so many ways. We sat on the balcony and the view was absolutely gorgeous. Our waitress was extremely jovial and friendly. Food was also incredible. Highly recommend bone marrow—so fragrant and buttery, and the toast served with it was perfectly toasted. Pea soup was herby and hearty and hit right in the spot. For dessert, we had brownie and yogurt ice cream parfaits, but you can’t possibly go wrong with any choice. The only thing I wouldn’t recommend is the hummus, not that it’s not good—it just lacks a bit of special touch.
Yuan G — Google review
Blatant racism. If you’re European or white, they roll out the red carpet and give you the best outdoor view even if you’re only ordering a drink. But if you’re Arab or non-white, they push you indoors even if you’re ordering a full meal. Absolutely disgusting behavior in 2025. Shame on this hotel and their staff for treating guests based on skin color and nationality. There’s drinks outside as evidence

Absolutely loved my experience at Petit Glacier! The food is absolutely amazing—delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy. The service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and genuine. I truly loved everything about it and can't wait to return!

I had dinner at the Petit Glacier and honestly, it was one of those evenings where everything just felt right. The terrace offers beautiful mountain views, peaceful atmosphere, and just the perfect place to slow down and enjoy good food. What really made me happy though was how kind and attentive the staff were. They made me feel totally welcome from the first minute. I’m vegan, which can make eating out a bit stressful sometimes, but not here. They really knew their stuff about dietary needs and made sure I had proper, tasty options, while my family got to enjoy their own (non-vegan) meals too. Everyone left happy and full. Ps: the Mocktails were delicious:))

An unforgettable dining experience. We had the pleasure of enjoying a dinner for two at Petit Glacier, and it was truly exceptional from start to finish. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, striking the perfect balance between elegance and comfort. The service was impeccable — attentive, professional, and genuinely kind without ever feeling intrusive. Our meal was a delight: beautifully presented, full of flavour, and clearly prepared with great care and high-quality ingredients. Each course exceeded our expectations, turning a simple dinner into a memorable culinary experience. And of course, the views are simply breathtaking. Surrounded by the majestic landscape of Grindelwald, dining here feels like a perfect harmony between nature and refinement. Petit Glacier is not just a place to eat — it’s a place where everything is thoughtfully crafted to create a unique and enriching moment. Highly recommended.

We stopped by Petit Glacier for lunch and it turned out to be such a find. It’s just off the main road in Grindelwald, but feels like a quiet little escape. No noise, no crowds—just calm vibes and spectacular mountain views. We had the homemade ravioli and the Alpine beef burger. Both dishes were spot on. The staff were incredibly kind, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. If you’re looking for great food in a peaceful setting with genuinely lovely service, this place is a must.

The bus stop was super close, so getting there was really easy, and the view was amazing. The server (I think she might be the owner) was super friendly and welcoming, and honestly, the food was the best I’ve had in Switzerland. The sausage and potato salad were way better than what I had at some of the famous spots in the city. I’m also really glad I got to try fondue here — as a Korean, I usually find it a bit too rich, but it tasted great with the potatoes. The only downside was the flies being a bit annoying.

We decided to try this restaurant as a visiting member in our group always wanted to try cheese fondue and this restaurant definitely hit the spot. The cheese fondue was very rich and delicious and the accompanying bread and potatoes were a great way to enjoy the fondue. The meat platter was also great. The views from the restaurant are amazing and just add to the flavor of your meal. The staff were very nice and welcoming. Overall, our group enjoyed our meal here.

Beautiful place serving Swiss food in the midst of the mountains. The owner is really friendly! We had the fondue, which had a good portion size and it was delicious!

What a find! Away from the touristy crowds of the town and authentic Swiss food. THE VIEW! Sit on the outdoor deck and just admire the beauty while you sip wine and eat amazing fondue. I actually asked what kind of cheese it was and was told it was a secret. Seemed like a small family business and I can’t recommend it more. The only downside is that it is out of the way (which is what makes it special) and we needed to take an Uber back to our hotel because the busses stop running after 7pm. The 10 min ride cost us around $50 USD. Yikes! It was worth it for us though and would absolutely do it again. One of the best meals we had on our trip!

To have some Swiss cheese 🫕 with that view was breathtaking and delicious. It has a pitoresque view to the town of Grinwald and that with the combination of the traditional food it creates a true authentic experience. This place is away from the downtown, one might need a car to get here. Try the prune or apricot liquor at the end as a digestive and you would want to come back again.

We recently spent a week in Grindelwald. We ate at Stallbeizli Heubode at least twice. If you like sausage, this is the place. The food was perfect every time. I also noticed a lot of customers eating the fondue. The prices are very reasonable, especially when compared to the prices in town. The outdoor seating is so nice. The indoor seating is cozy and welcoming. The owner, Monika, is very attentive and friendly. Monika always wore a smile and was eager to please. I ate many desserts while in Switzerland. The following three desserts are a must try: 1. Apple torte at Stallbeizli Heubode (my personal favorite); 2. Nussgipfel at the Berggasthaus Aescher near Appenzell; and 3. Apple Strudel with vanilla sauce at the Fronalpstock restaurant on the Stoos ridge hike. Monika - Robin and I thank you for the wonderful meals and look forward to our return in the near future.

Take 121 bus to the end, then climb 1.5 kilometers to get here.(The road condition is good and the slope is not steep.).The scenery along the way is great. This little Hütte has great freshly made Kuchen, milkshakes and several nice lunch dishes. What makes this little gem really stand out is the epic terrace with unforgettable views of the mountains. It is next to the Alpvogelpark and perfect to combine. The walk from Hotel Wetterhorn took about 30 minutes uphill, following the same road the bus takes. Behind Wetterhorn to the left is a small path that avoids the road.

The best pies in Grindelwald! We've tried several of their homemade fruit pies and they're so yummy! Add a friendly service and fair prices and it's just a perfect result. Bergrestaurant Bussalp is a mountain restaurant located in a picturesque setting, offering a serviced restaurant and a spacious sun terrace. Visitors can relax in the AlpLounge with comfortable sofas and a sunbathing lawn, as well as enjoy the Kneipp bath. The location is perfect for capturing stunning photographs and embarking on introductory hiking trails such as the Eiger ultra trail.
A very welcome place to eat at the end of the winter walk from First, via Faulhorn. The staff were friendly and efficient. The Apfelkuchen huge and delicious and the chips very nice.

We came here with the special bus plus dinner trip that was offered by Grindelwald Bus in July 2024. The bus ride was a real adventure, on a mountain road that is barely wider than the bus itself. At 20 CHF, the return fare for this journey was less than half of the regular price. The food selection in the restaurant was limited, with mostly meat options. Cheese fondue was practically the only option for vegetarians. You can make a short walk from the restaurant to a view point, or you can start walking down along the road and wait for the return bus to come by and pick you up to return down to Grindelwald. A nice experience and recommended!

I have to give 4 stars for the fact that after a very long hike we were able to enjoy a cold lager with a spectacular view. I deduced a star because, as others have said, the staff isn't even close to hospitable. At least not to us English speaking tourists. I get it, they probably get as lot of annoying, entitled tourists, so I'll forgive that. We didn't really eat except for fries, and they were fine. They were fries.

This was the best coffee shop/cafe we visited in Switzerland over our 10 day vacation in four cities. Kringle has a real espresso machine. They use coffee beans roasted locally. The coffee was excellent. The food was fresh and wonderful. Be sure to try the cardamom rolls - like a cinnamon roll. These will only be found in Kringle, made exclusively for them by a local bakery. We loved the atmosphere, the friendly staff, and prices. We wish we had discovered this cafe sooner in our visit.

We stayed in Grindelwald for 4 days and visited this cafe 4 times :-). This probably shows how happy we were with the food and service alike. Their cardamom buns are just perfect (and they did not like to share the family recipe, unfortunatelly). Very good basic pizza. The pizza crust was very crisp. The tomato’s and cheese also tasted very fresh (as expected in Switzerland). Small pizzeria with friendly staff and good food. We came late at night, close to closing and they were very accommodating. We ordered on the kiosk that supports multiple languages and it takes foreign credit cards. We wanted something simple so we opted for a margarita pie and the it simply delicious. I loved the sweet yet subtle sourness of the tomato sauces. No floppiness in the dough, great undercarriage yet tasted very airy.

Very unique small restaurant that located within the Grindelwald terminal station ( across Coop ) . Only consisted of only 4 tables. Ordering through the kiosk system. I believed it runs by the owner only. I got the spicy roasted duck and the curry noodle with the dumpling. The curry is so flavorful. I would not suggest the roast duck unless you like something simple. Will be back if i am in the area

Very expensive noodles, portions were alright only as well. The veges they seem to give more of the stalk rather than the leafy sides. Taste wise the curry was alright as well. Nothing ming blowing, tastes slightly more sour than a curry would taste. But even so, a hot noodle soup is good for a cold winter day.

Probably one of the best ramen noodles I've ever had! We had spicy noodles with ramen (or even udon noodles would be great), and every bite was delicious!! It was made fresh and tasty, and eating it after the Jungfraujoch trip was the cherry on top! Highly recommended. And the best part was my son slurping even the last bite of it ;)
Manish B — Google review
The roast duck noodles taste good — the broth is nice, the duck is tender, and the noodles are cooked well. Also, the chef is very friendly and kind.
Nadja L — Google review
Amazing place for tourists after traveling down from Jungfraujoch. I had altitude sickness today after taking cable car down from the mountain, asked the ski information desk who didn’t offer any help at all, and stopped by this restaurant. The owner kindly offered advice for relieving ear pressure and the noodle I ordered was really delicious. Really appreciate the owner’s kindness and will definitely come again in the future
Haoxing L — Google review
Quite expensive as the portion was less. I actually enjoyed the noodles because of the seasoning- there was a bowl of red paste & when I added a few teaspoons of that into the soup, it was pretty okay. Didn’t quite enjoy the pork dumplings though.

I recently visited Skihütte Genepi and was impressed by the great atmosphere and the exceptionally friendly staff. The Alpine breeze and breathtaking landscape created a perfect setting for sipping a cold drink ;) However, the constant American Gangster Rap being played at an overpowering volume is the least thing you would expect or wanted to listen too while up in the mountains. Despite this musical hiccup, the overall experience at Skihütte Genepi was enjoyable, with great service and ok food. I’d definitely be back, hopefully by then the music will have changed ;)

Very nice atmosphere! Staff is happy and enjoying herself. Pizza was baked fresh with passion:) Much better value than the restaurant just next to the cable car, you just need to walk extra 30 meters for a much more fun spot:)

Great atmosphere, the interior design is creative. For an affordable price you get a huge portion. I do hope they could put a bit more vegetables in the burrito though. We had the burger too, which was great. Staffs are very friendly!

During my visit to Grindelwald, I decided to pay a visit to Qraftwerk, a confectionery. This cafe offers a delightful array of baked goods that are both delicious and tasty. The atmosphere is pleasant and relaxed, providing the perfect environment for relaxation. I particularly enjoyed their selection of cheesecakes and quiches, which were truly delectable.
This is by far my favorite bakery. Everyone in there is super friendly and warm, and the pastries are insanely delicious. Try the vanilla crème croissant, you won’t regret it. This place has me questioning my life choices that I’m not in Grindelwald to eat here more often. 13/10
Leland N — Google review
Bit of a hit or miss. Service was great, let me take my time with what to choose, massive selection so there was too much to choose from! I had a panini although it lacked much filling and was very salty. When the staff heated it up it was very hard and tough to eat, perhaps it was over cooked. As well as this it was very dry, like I said with the lack of filling, could have done with more pesto and/or cream cheese as it was largely just Parma ham and rocket. So with it being tough and dry it wasn’t that pleasant to eat. Although the sweet pastry’s were incredible! Not only do they look fantastic but tasted good too and really fresh. I didn’t get the chance to taste the chocolates but they looked amazing and seemed very popular with other customers. The staff were also very good at advising myself and others with allergy concerns. All the food in my opinions was fairly reasonably priced given the classy vibe and appearance of the shop, although the drink prices were steep so I avoided that.

I'm not vegan and can't smell/taste cinnamon due to long covid, yet somehow the zimtschnecke still blew me away after a day of hiking. Moist, lots of filling, and you'd never know it's vegan. During other visits also had the chocolate croissant and chocolate chip cookie, and they were also excellent. Highly recommend this bakery to satisfy your sweet tooth. Prices are generally 3 to 7 francs.

We found the café to be very welcoming—it was amazing. The pastries were absolutely delicious, and the whole experience is something I would highly recommend, especially if you get the chance to sit by the window. It truly added to the charm of our visit to Grindelwald.

Amazing place for coffee and breakfast! I recommend asking your barista to warm your pastries. Cappuccino was one of the best I’ve had, very unique thick foam with chocolate

Amazing bakery items. I tried vanilla croissant and chocolate croissant with cappuccino, and they are amazing. They serve Nespresso based coffee but trust me it’s worth to pay than any other places who serve office standard coffee.

Thank you to the Polish lady!! I had a wonderful experience at Qraft in Grindelwald! The café has a warm, inviting vibe with stunning mountain views perfect for relaxing with a great coffee. What truly made my visit special was the exceptional service from a lovely Polish lady working there. She was kind, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. We had a lovely chat, and I mentioned I’m from London hopefully she gets the chance to visit sometime soon! She didn’t know it at the time, but I have a large social media following, and I’ll definitely be recommending Qraft to them especially highlighting the fantastic service I received. It’s people like her who make a place unforgettable. Highly recommended!

We spent 2 days in Paris before coming to Switzerland and this is the first one that came anywhere close to a Paris bakery. I got a chocolate croissant which was delicious but they also had a cinnamon croissant with a coarse sugar on top. We left with those 2 items but went back in for another of the cinnamon croissant. Definitely the best baked good that I have ever consumed. I would come back to Grindewald just for that.

Food was extremely delicious and we came back twice. Very authentic Japanese food with Japanese chef from Tokyo. This is a hidden jem that cannot be missed! Excellent dining experience with very nice interior design! Service was also excellent and staff were very kind and welcoming. Highly recommend giving it a visit and ordering their tonkotsu ramen, sushi and desserts!

Last Wednesday evening I have had dinner with my son in your restaurant. I just want to compliment you with the excellent dinner we had. The tast, the presentation and the service were fantastic - I enjoyed it very much - Thank you. If there is any place I can leave my review - let me know - it will be a 10! I have worked for Okura Amsterdam for 20 years so I know when I see a great Japanese restaurant. Next time (next year) I will be in Grindelwald I will bring a crowd!

The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The restaurant itself was stunning, with such a charming and well-designed atmosphere. Everyone who served us was incredibly kind and respectful. Overall, everything was just perfect. If you enjoy Japanese cuisine, this place is definitely one of the best choices to visit

We ordered the Tonkatsu ramen and Curry soba noodles and it was really delicious. Delicate yet with intense flavors and we have had many ramen coming from Asia and Japan so we definitely can tell from a good ramen. Much needed. We had it after our Balchapsee hike where we took bus 121 for 3 stops from the Grindelward first cable car terminals. Go and have it and you will enjoy them!

Pork gyoza and shrimp tempura roll were bomb. The rolls were pretty solid but the avocado was pretty firm, and the fish seemed a bit past peak. Still tasty, especially the California roll.

A lovely experience at UMAMI Restaurant. The interior design is stunning—it really felt like I was transported to Japan. I ordered the agedashi tofu, which was perfectly crispy on the outside and slighty firm inside, and the teriyaki salmon rice, which was fresh and very satisfying. The senji cha was very very aromatic- surprising . Definitely a great spot for Japanese food in Grindelwald!

The food was amazing the environment was spectacular for a first there weren’t any flies hovering around the tonkotsu ramen broth was rich and creamy the bean sprouts were crispy and fresh the seaweed salad fresh and bursting with flavour even the different kinds of sushi rolls were mouth watering(tempura roll, salmon roll) the drinks were authentic and freshly brewed (green tea recommended) atmosphere was nice with Mountain View our waitress was kind and helpful highly recommended!

The old lady was rude from the moment she saw us which was unlike the rest of my experience at Grindelwald. I’m glad I told her she was rude and I wish I’d told her that she could try to find healthier ways to deal with whatever bad feeling she was having that day. I guess some people just have a problem with anyone who doesn’t look like them.

The Gelato tastes very bland. No flavour has that taste to make you keep eating. Also it’s a little costlier. You should walk further up and eat in another outlet. That is cheaper and better taste.

Was craving an ice cream after a long hot day out, and we skipped the ice cream kiosk on the way back from Grindelwald First to try this (as we saw a queue the previous day). I regretted not reading the reviews first though, as the ice cream was simply not tasty even though they charged more than some of the other ice cream parlors in the area. We ordered Puffo and Apple flavors, both tasted like toothpaste/medicine. Perhaps other more normal flavors would be better. Very disappointed.

What a splendid flavor that melts across my tongue like a summer dream. From the very first bite, the rich, velvety chocolate cream dances through my mouth, sending waves of joy straight to my soul. Oh, how marvelous it feels—soft, indulgent, and so exquisitely smooth, it glides down my throat like silk. Each spoonful is a small escape, a luscious reminder of childhood joy and carefree moments. The balance of sweetness is divine—not overpowering, but just enough to make me close my eyes and sigh in delight. Truly, this isn’t just ice cream—it’s a love letter to chocolate itself.

Such great icecream and the prices are normal compared to food options here in Grindelwald. The flavors are so creamy and delicious. We’ve been here twice since our arrival and will definitely have more.
Nadia M — Google review
The lady at the counter was extremely impolite! I asked for an ice cream cone with nut sprinkels 3 times (in German language!!)and she forced me to take an another one without even considering my request. The ice cream quality is pathetic too. If you don’t want to do business close it rather than spoiling tourists mood and money!! Never again!

Bergwelt Grindelwald - Alpine Design Resort is a 4-star hotel located in Grindelwald, just 2 km from the Grindelwald Terminal. The resort offers a range of amenities including a garden, private parking, terrace, and restaurant. Guests can enjoy free WiFi, room service, and access to a wellness area with an indoor pool, fitness center, sauna, and outdoor swimming pool.
The Bergwelt is a gem in one of the most beautiful places on the planet. The hotel is situated at the base of several mountains making the view incredible. The hotel staff are friendly and accommodating. Our interactions with Pedro and Thomas were especially positive as they both were exceptionally welcoming and helpful. The hotel was incredibly clean. The pool and steam room were amazing. The breakfast buffet was delicious. And the fitness room was sufficient. The only negative aspect of our stay was the lack of air conditioning making some nights difficult to sleep due to the heat. But even with that small critique I will definitely stay here again.
Andy W — Google review
I booked the signature Fire & Ice massage for my husband and me about 4 weeks in advance. When making the reservation, I was told the treatments could only be done one after the other, but I requested simultaneous sessions. Only after experiencing it did I realize the reason: it seems there is only one therapist properly trained in this particular treatment. My husband had his session with the trained therapist and said it was excellent. My experience, however, was quite different. The person assigned to me did not appear to be a professional masseuse. The techniques felt inconsistent and unstructured. For example, some areas were worked on repetitively without variation, while others felt rushed or asymmetrical. The hot and cold stone sequence also felt slightly disorganized, and the introduction of the cold stone was abrupt, which took away from the relaxation. For a treatment priced at 230 CHF, I was hoping for a consistently high standard. I think it would be very helpful if the spa were more transparent at the time of booking — explaining that only one therapist is trained in this massage and that simultaneous sessions aren’t possible. Not clarifying this felt somewhat misleading. Overall, while my husband’s massage was wonderful, my experience was disappointing and did not reflect the quality or professionalism one would expect from a luxury property.

Amazing resort! The location is perfect, and our Eiger view room offered a truly breathtaking view. The room was spotless, and every detail was well taken care of. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful; a special thank you to Thomas, who went above and beyond by recommending places to visit and explaining the best hiking trails. His guidance made our stay even more memorable. Highly recommended!

I’m currently on night 4 at this gorgeous hotel. My husband and I are so very happy here. The location is perfect. Our Eiger Mountain View is phenomenal. It’s truly such a detailed hotel with such a luxurious vibe. The room is so clean and spotless. The bathroom is modern. They restock the fridge and snacks in the room everyday. Their breakfast at the hotel is delicious and the variety is great. The staff have been nothing but kind, welcoming and cheerful. When the hotel staff found out it was our anniversary, we came to the room one day and found a handwritten note with some sweets on the table. I’m a very picky person and this hotel has definitely checked all the boxes for me. We have 2 more nights and sadly we will departure. I’ll definitely bring back my kids here one day. Will add more photos soon.

Oh wow wow wow what can I say? This hotel is absolutely gorgeous!!! I do not understand people complaining about the lighting! I read lots of reviews before going. I think people just like to complain! This hotel is fabulous it’s dark in the room as it is like a Swiss cabin style, sheer luxury! Me and my Daughter have just returned home today. The food absolutely beautiful, rooms gorgeous, breakfast fabulous and the spa is so nice! This hotel is spotless and sheer chic luxury! The staff are lovely and so friendly and helpful. The chef was chatting to us this morning, his food is to die for!! I have been in hotels all around the world and this hotel is top notch. Thank you for a wonderful stay we will definitely be returning.

My first stay in Grindelwald, and I already know it won’t be my last. Bergwelt is a stunning and stylish hotel where comfort and design feel effortless. I stayed in a Deluxe room: spacious, beautifully decorated, and impossible not to love. The spa is pristine and deeply relaxing, and the outdoor pool is so inviting it deserves its own postcard. I travelled with two French Bulldogs and the welcome they received was flawless. Being able to travel with them and see them treated like honoured guests is a total game changer for me. The bar is warm and inviting, and the cocktails are dangerously good (consider yourself warned). In short: a hotel that’s hard to leave, impossible to forget, and already calling me back.
Petit L — Google review
This hotel saved us when we realized we were no longer camper van people. I went from showering in freezing cold water to the most glorious and beautiful bathroom! I went from sleeping in fetal position to the softest linens and pillows… I went from a grocery store breakfast, to the best hotel breakfast of my life!!! Would 10000% stay here again. The spa alone would make me come back. We also love the hotel bar, it’s actually the reason we booked the hotel! We got a drink and the next night… no more camping!!!! Small luxury hotels only from this point on…
Chelsea S — Google review
My boyfriend and I booked this hotel for the weekend to celebrate my 30th birthday. He even emailed the hotel and asked if they could prepare a little surprise in the room for me, but when we got to our room he was unpleasantly surprised because there was nothing there, they forgot about it. After emailing them again there was a little cake placed in the room the next day. Regarding the cleanliness of the room, there were details like dirty red spots all over the floor, dirty spots on bed sheets and we also found some long black hair. The radiator in the bathroom wasn’t working, and even though we emailed the reception on the first day, no one came to fix it and no one replied. We were given a parking spot but when trying to go there, it was occupied by different car. We solved this problem at the reception. It was just too many things that didn’t work out well in such a short time and we were disappointed by these details in such a well rated hotel. Otherwise the room was nice, spacious and had a beautiful mountain view. We appreciated the mini bar that was free of charge (non-alcoholic drinks and snacks). Spa was nice, we enjoyed the outdoor jacuzzi pool with a mountain view. Overall we didn't feel like the staff was trying to make our stay any special. The hotel is well designed and it definitely impressed us, but for us, the true hospitality is defined by how we are treated, not by the luxurious stuff. We will always remember how we felt and what our experience was like. Unfortunately we don’t think it was worth the money and wouldn’t come back here. We just made sure that a higher price and more stars don't always mean better service.

While searching for a vegetarian meal, we stumbled upon this cozy little food truck and what a find! We asked if he had vegetarian options, and he warmly offered burgers with egg, fries, and cheese balls. Of course, we tried them all and not a single bite disappointed. Crispy, flavorful, and so satisfying! The food was great, but the kind and friendly owner made the experience even better. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a quick and tasty veg-friendly bite!

Beautiful view of the mountains, burgers are quite good. The rosti fries are amazing! Burgers were as one would expect. Good value based on the place and the general price of things around. Service could be a bit better - had to ask for the burger to be served in a decent box, then the fries were handed to us very haphazardly, falling off the sides.

Me and my fiancée each had a chicken burger here with fries and felt very sick afterwards (dizzy, nauseous) from the amount of grease. It's currently 12 hours later and I still have a relentless, pounding headache. I noticed for the chicken burger he used a previously frozen par-fried panko chicken patty and dropped it into a deep fryer, thus being fried twice. This is an extremely high calorie sandwich. Please be warned, I hope nobody goes through the same experience we did.
