The 50 best spots for lunch in Zurich

This is the second michelin restaurant we have ever been to although we are foodies. I was honestly underwhelmed. I understand that they specialize in traditional food from switzerland and the roesti in particular was delicious but for michelin food and michelin prices, I suppose I was expecting something more unique. I also ordered a dish from the seasonal menu which I felt was a bit bland. In addition, the presentation of the food didnt feel special. 2 of the dishes were brought to the table/heater next to us and scooped into a plate next to us which did not make for pretty plating. Again, it could be the style, and for the traditional food we had I do think it was done well, but I didnt find them to be anything special that I would go out of my way for again.

An unforgettable dining experience! From the moment we arrived, everything was exceptional — elegant ambiance, flawless service, and beautifully prepared dishes that highlight Swiss quality and creativity. I came to Zurich for 3 nights to meet my CEO and booked in advance to made sure I get to dine at this legendary restaurant. I was told in reservations that no photos are allowed because they do not want this place to be run by over tourism . Perhaps because there were many ugly tourists in the past or they are just arrogant. Nevertheless, I wanted you to be there to see why this place is so special.. is it because of the food? Service? Or because it is the only restaurant filled with amazing original paintings by Chagall, Etc? As for the atmosphere, it really does live up to the hype.. beautiful and tasteful like in Paris … as for the food.. above average… my wife ‘s dish was too salty.. re: photos ? I didn’t take any during the meal but at the end, I asked the manager and he say no problem.. just no photos of the guests . What about the art work? He say no problem ( the person who responded to me on the email says not allowed due to copyright) … photo can only be taking with permission .. well, maybe because I was wearing Versace ? Definitely a life-time must! A Zurich landmark with so much tradition since the 1920s, history and an amazing collection of original art (Miro, Chagall, Rodin, etc). Unquestionably, however, these attributes (which are watched by an art portrait of Hulda Zumsteg, the founder) would be irrelevant if the menu items were not top notch – in character, presentation including dishing out by the knowledgeable but amicable staff, and most importantly the perfect flavor. Just a quick explanation how to best read the menu: On the left-hand side, there are timeless classical dishes that have not changed and will never change, and on the right-hand side, there are a bit more modern and experimental dishes. Excellent restaurant! Everything was top-level the service, the food, and even though I was dining solo, I got an amazing table. Make sure to book ahead! And the dessert… simply phenomenal

I’ve traveled all over the world and experienced countless amazing and exotic restaurants, but Kronenhalle in Zurich is one that I’ll remember for the rest of my life. Our server, Sami, made the evening truly unforgettable. He was incredibly welcoming and attentive from the moment we arrived. He helped us choose the perfect bottle of wine within our budget and offered wonderful recommendations for exploring Zurich afterward. What truly set the experience apart was the personal touch, Sami gave us a private tour of the restaurant, sharing its fascinating history and introducing us to the incredible artworks on display by some of the most famous artists in the world. Because of Sami’s warmth, knowledge, and genuine hospitality, we will absolutely return to Kronenhalle. I can’t say enough great things about this restaurant! Let’s start with a single con : the price is pretty darn high; for being a tourist I can imagine it’s tough for most since most countries don’t have a high wage such as Switzerland. We went here on a date visiting Zürich for the first time and wow it was mouth watering and delicious! Personally I’m not a vegetarian but my girlfriend is and I always support her and we have vegetarian days, this meal was full of incredible flavors and actually made me feel pretty decently well. I could have easily eaten a second full plate though for 40 dollars per person per plate(without drinks) I think I’ll leave it as a delicacy. They weight it and I do love this system since it ensures the buffet is being used properly and no food is being wasted. The staff is INCREDIBLE! The cook came out a few times to fill the buffet and he was full of charisma. My girlfriend was super happy to have him compliment her. Our cashier / server was a Filipino man and he was very polite, professional and with a big smile! For the experience it was worth it, it was romantic and delightful

Being vegetarian we had to try this place in Zurich. Oldest Vegeterian restaurant in the world and what unique is serving dishes from different cusines across the world! The people were friendly and very accommodating! Definitely recommend this place if you are in Zurich!

Iconic vegetarian restaurant in the city. Splitted between a buffet self-service on the first floor and and normal restaurant on the second floor. Very large choices, from simple salads 🥗 to various grains. Plenty of fruits on offer. Alcohol and other beverages complete the offer. Service is welcoming and friendly.

Every time I’m in Zurich, I have to come back here. Oldest vegetarian restaurant in the world? Yeah, and it still slaps. Been here more times than I can count, and it never disappoints. Downstairs, it’s a buffet setup, you grab a plate, load up like it’s your last meal, and pay by the weight. Pro tip: things add up quick when you’re hungry and everything looks good. You’ve been warned. If you head upstairs, you get the full sit-down experience. You can still hit the buffet downstairs just weigh your plate, get a ticket, and hand it off to your server like a classy food courier. Easy. The food? Absolutely amazing. Tons of variety, packed with flavor, and actually satisfying. Like, not just “good for vegetarian food” just good, period. Drinks are fresh too, especially the juices. If you’re vegan or vegetarian, this is the spot in Zurich. And even if you’re not, you’ll still walk out happy. It’s that good.

One of the best restaurants in Zurich. You can choose between buffet or à la carte. The food is incredibly delicious, and they have a lot of homemade drinks to choose from. The staff is very friendly. I recommend it to everyone !

Chat Gpt recommended me this place and I’m really happy I went. I tried buffet : first main course and then also decided to have a dessert (I got a mix of the mousses 😂) and a coffee. Desserts were just great, light and tasty It’s a great historical place that keeps up with quality. Will go again next time in Zurich

The main plus is the view of Zurich from the 35th floor - really impressive. Easy to get a reservation and wasn't too crowded when we went. Ordered iced tea but couldn't taste any actual tea - more like fruit punch. Had a smash burger with fries. Fries were good, but the bottom bun was dry. First bite seemed juicy but got worse toward the middle. Pretty average overall. Despite the fancy atmosphere, the food doesn't match the luxury vibe they're going for. Annoying that the waiter asked about the bill amount (hinting at rounding up for tip) and then asked about tip again. Found this pushy approach off-putting. Worth going once for the view. Probably better to just get cocktails, but keep in mind they'll seat you in the bar area where you won't get the same window views.

Amazing bar with a truly stunning view: perfect spot for chilling, taking cool pictures, or enjoying a cozy evening. Emily is hands down the best server. Dirk is phenomenal chef. Georg outstanding manager who really knew how to set the tone. Every bite of every dish was incredible. My absolute favorite was the truffle gnocchi. However, the oysters were out of this world w the sauces it was served with. Than the salmon sashimi was impeccable. Then the fresh bread with this cherry balsamic from Germany and oil from Greece was TOOOO GOOD!!! Finally the flank steak with the chimichurri sauce was melting in my mouth. COME HERE TO ENJOY THE LIFE U DESERVE AND TO EAT AND FEEL LIKE A KING OR QUEEN

Clouds Restaurant is one of the best dining spots in Zurich, located in the city’s tallest building, Prime Tower. The breathtaking views from the restaurant make the experience truly special. The food is equally impressive, especially the tartare and steak, which were both delicious and of high quality. The service was quick, professional, and the overall atmosphere was clean and well-organized. Since the restaurant can get quite busy, I highly recommend making a reservation in advance. If you’re looking for a unique dining experience with an incredible view, Clouds Restaurant is a must-visit!

We had drinks at the bar. The view from the highest tower in Zurich was so stunning. I watched the city lights and enjoyed the drink with my friends. Such a nice evening spending time there.

The reception team that takes your coat was very nice. When we arrived upstairs there was a queue. As the place was not crowded at all we passed by the people to check out the situation thinking that it might be a group of oeople waiting for someone. We were happy to find a perfect table with a fantastic view. Very shortly later the waiter came and told us arrogantly that we need ti queue up. Turning around I saw another two unoccupied chairs at the bar. On the way out I went to the server and asked him why he doesn’t make the people who are waiting have a seat. The free seats and waiting people made me confused. The waiter snapped at me how many free sitting areas I saw. I told hin two so far. As a consequence the waiter called me arrogant. Arrogant I assume is to make people wait in line whereas there is space to sit down. I will never again go to Cloud Bar.

Had a wonderful experience at Clouds Zurich. The atmosphere is modern yet cozy, with stunning views that make the whole visit feel special. The food was beautifully presented and tasted even better, and the cocktails were spot on. A big shout-out to Sarah, who took care of us throughout the evening. OK, this is not a short review, so please bear with me.  I went from Ireland to Switzerland on a very low budget holiday, and of course, I wanted to try the traditional Swiss food. So, I asked around, and a guy recommended this restaurant.  I went there and I was blown away with an old fantastic style, it's like a time machine.  I asked for Fondue but they didn't have it, I was disappointed BUT, they had a very good reason to not offer it, that's because the Fondue will create steam that would damage the old paintings in the restaurant, I have a huge passion to history and art and I totally understand their point. The waitress told us that the restaurant was opened in the 30s by three ladies. After that,  I decided to order juice and a main course only because of my limited budget...Dylan the waiter recommended a lovely exclusive drink made from natural ingredients in the house, he also recommended the special beef dish on the day. Dylan's recommendations were  spot on. The juice was so refreshing, and you can feel the unique taste of Swiss ingredients.  The beef dish was lovely,  my sister enjoyed it. I ordered another beef dish with risotto, and it was so creamy. So, if you're looking for a unique lifetime experience to go back in time to the 1930s, then this is the place for you for sure. I couldn't take many photos inside because there were families eating, and I wanted to respect their privacy. I also couldn't take many photos of the dishes because of the candlelight and I really wanted to enjoy my time with my sister rather than taking photos... I couldn't order more than the juice and main dish because I couldn't afford more. But, you can save a bit of extra money and order a full meal with three courses. You might think it's an expensive restaurant,  but it's a journey to the Swiss history and culture of Switzerland.  The staff were amazing and they treated us very well. Although,  I was sad that they did not offer Fondue,  they respectfully explained why they can't have it on the menu. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Small and quaint place to grab a delicious meal. Everything from the service to the food was universally excellent. Easy to get to as well since it's located right by the #13 tram.

Love this place. It’s a nice little place where the staffs are super friendly and the food are very nice. Our favorite dishes were the Alpenrose salad and the venison dish (unfortunately we didn’t have photos of them). The space were absolutely gorgeous, an old building that they preserved quite nicely. The long standing establishment shows in the culture of the people. We found out later that they were working closely with the “Arbeitskette project”, supposedly a project helping integration of community members.

Recently enjoyed a wonderful dinner while on holiday. Dining room is very pretty and intimate feeling. Food was presented beautifully and tasted excellent. Waitstaff was supreme and hard working. This restaurant is doing great things!

I’ve looked up best restaurant in Zurich on Time Out and this place came out on suggestion. I didn’t manage to get a booking on a Friday evening so we tried our luck to walk in around 6pm. We were considered lucky to have dinner here as the place was filled around 8pm..! Ambience- cozy and nice space with some traditional rustic vibes Service- There are three waiters when we were there and all of them were not as attentive and being helpful with menus when we asked them question. Not sure if they don’t understand English at all or doesn’t want to…this affects our dining experience which was a bit disappointing. Food- we’ve ordered the meat loaf and veal steak. Both were very homely made taste and flavourful which we enjoyed very much. I specially adore their spactzle! I would highly recommend to have it as sides. For starter we had the bone marrow beef soup and beef tartare- the soup was OK, don’t think there’s any wow factor in there but the beef tartare was amazing. Overall this is the comfort food I had in Zurich and I really enjoyed the food. Hopefully service will improve next time that will makes it perfect :)

This was such a great place to eat. The food was delicious. The staff was very friendly, and the inside of the restaurant is interesting. I do recommend a reservation as we had to wait in line to be seated, and we were seated at a table split with another party of two (which was fine for us, but isn’t for everyone). I did also overhear from another group that bigger parties cannot always be seated without a reservation during their peak dinner time, roughly 6-8pm.

I visited this restaurant three times during my stay, both for lunch and dinner and everything I tried was fantastic! - Pumpkin Soup: One of the best I’ve ever had , light, interesting, and full of flavor. - Chicken Schnitzel with Mushroom Sauce: Perfectly thin and crispy on the outside, juicy inside. The sauce was creamy with a hint of lemon, absolutely delicious! - Rösti: Good but a bit dry for my liking. - Macaroni from their vegetarian options: Made with cheese, potatoes, and caramelized onions. light, comforting, and so good! The atmosphere is super charming, full of character and history. If you’re in a small group, you’ll likely share a table with others, which actually makes it more fun! We ended up having great conversations with our table neighbors :) Can’t wait to come back!

Interesting place. It’s an old military arsenal which was converted to a restaurant in 1926. Food was slightly above average but the atmosphere kind of felt like a Disney dining hall. Small parties are required to share tables with others. Weiner Schnitzel and Rösti (hash brown)were average. The pumpkin soup special was above average.

Very busy place. If one don’t have a reservation, be expected to be sharing a table. Atmosphere is great, loud and lively. There is a meal for 2, which includes sausage on a sword. Looks amazing but portion looks big :)

Great fun, good food, wonderful experience - a must visit when in Zurich, alhough I wish we have the chance to come here for more than just one time 🤓 so many dishes to try! We had their veal in white wine sauce with rosti as the side, and fried crumbed-chicken fillet with fries. Polished it off between the three of us. Tiramisu was a great finish - unbelievably good (even comparable to those we had in Rome, but don’t tell them 🤓), whipped cream was so fresh, biscotti so yummy.

worth the visit. Went during dinner time didnt book a table, very lucky to got a seat. Ordered a rosti with veal meat and two types of sausage. Wasn't really familiar with the menu but was served by agdias, very friendly guy who suggested my menu and my drink which was a non alcoholic cider ( very nice drink ). Me and my family ABSOLUTELY loved the food, the service was amazing and the food was great as well. Ewa was the sweetest and helped us and recommended us desserts which were also fantastic. Would definitely recommend and eat again.

Their specialty is sausages. When I tried them, I loved them. The only problem was that the bread was EXTREMELY hard (inedible), and the sauce was too spicy. It's traditional food there, but I would never return to this restaurant, and it's very expensive.

We ate at the sit down restaurant style Sternen Grill upstairs, it was probably my favorite meal in Switzerland. The staff was so friendly upon our arrival. They even saw us struggling with the menu and pointed out the QR code we could scan for English. Our server Marcel was so helpful! He helped us choose the best options and making sure what we did and didn’t need. And he was right! Everything was so delicious. Then he offered a Grappa with dessert, which we never had before and loved it!!

It's another restaurant that people say is hard to catch because you need to queue. Actually, the queue is about 10 people long with approximately a 10-minute wait - not very long because the queue moves quickly. After eating, I was quite indifferent - nothing impressive. It's just ordinary sausage, not bad. I ordered three pieces for about 30 CHF. The restaurant is located on the main street and not difficult to find. If you're asking whether it's worth visiting, it's not really necessary - it's like any other regular sausage.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Whenever I have business in Zurich, I try to make a quick stop here. My favorite spot is the outdoor terrace on the second floor overlooking the bustling Bellevueplatz. Seating is limited; it's first come, first served. The service was always attentive and friendly. I can recommend everything on the menu, from the simple Swiss veal sausage and the seasonal salad to the hearty Zurich veal strips with rösti or fresh veal liver. Naturally, the wine list is meticulous and well-chosen. Like everything in Zurich, this comes at a price. Don't be alarmed, just enjoy! See you soon, perhaps? Just to mention, I've had today a Cesars Salad with chicken, some sparkling water and 20cl Pino Grigio weisswein...CHF 50.- plus a 10% tip. The sauce could have come with a bit more "Raffinesse", but was ok.

Yes, it is fast food but it is delicious and definitely tastier and fresher than any other average fast food option there. Especially appreciated on Sundays when everything is closed and you can just stop for a quick bite in a very central location. The prices are insanely reasonable considering it’s Zurich and the centre of town and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. 🌭 💖

Terrible experience last October 6, 2025 at around 8:30pm. My friend and I paid for our drinks and we decided to just get the drink later on while they prepare our hotdogs. The reason for this is that we don’t want the drinks to be warm after they finished preparing our food. Then the guy working at that time, who appears to be of South American origin, accused us of not paying. This is in front of other customers. The other staff there can confirm that we did pay for our drinks and we were charged for the payment but for some reason he didn’t even confirm with his co-staff. The nerve to embarrass us for just a drink is beyond despicable. Their approach is certainly unprofessional and unacceptable. They definitely did not have the right customer service training on how to verify a transaction based on their point of sale machine if we, did not pay. They will just resort to accusations. I am not recommending this restaurant due to our experience. Terrible treatment of customers. This also reflects on how management trains them. Poor service and customer relations.

A true gem in Zurich - it’s got my golden seal of approval! You owe it to yourself to check it out. Don’t be scared off by the long line at the entrance – the service is so fast that in just 5 minutes, you’ll already be ordering. No joke, this might just be some of the best sausages I’ve ever eaten. We tried both the veal and pork options, and they were both an absolute delight. The bread is magical. It’s super crunchy on the outside and might seem a bit hard at first, but the inside is soft and plays a key role in your overall experience at this restaurant. Watch out for the mustard! It seems like it’s a bit of a local legend. We were warned by our guide that it could be quite spicy, and she wasn’t kidding. You might feel your life flash before your eyes when you try it. It’s definitely not for everyone, but you simply can’t leave without giving it a shot. If I ever return to Zurich, this spot will undoubtedly be one of my first stops.

Seerose is the perfect mix of stunning views and delicious food. The lakeside setting is breathtaking, especially at sunset, and the menu offers an excellent variety of fresh, flavorful dishes. Whether it’s breakfast, a relaxed afternoon coffee, dinner with friends, or a special celebration, the atmosphere and attentive service make every visit memorable.

Beautiful view and pleasant staff. Accommodated child with Butter Spätzle which wasn’t on the menu. Very generous food portions. The perch was quite heavy on the fishy taste for my preference. Would love to go back especially when warmer to sit along the water.

Took forever for them to come take our order and then also for the food to arrive. It seemed that the staff was ignoring us and when we mentioned there being 3 bugs!!! in one drink they seemed annoyed. The food was good and the view is also good.

I had a fantastic dining experience at Zunfthaus zur Waag! The food was exceptional, with their signature Zürcher Geschnetzeltes and butter rösti stealing the show. The wine selection is superb, offering a great mix of local and international options that paired perfectly with the meal. My only suggestion would be to expand the menu with a few more pasta dishes for added variety. Still, an AAA+ experience in a charming, historic setting. We dined to celebrate my birthday whilst on holiday in Zurich with friends. The restaurant managed to accommodate us at short notice which we really appreciated. The staff were very attentive & the food was delicious. The restaurant is expensive but the food was of a high quality and the setting is lovy. We dined on the first floor and our table was by the door. We would have preferred to be further in the restaurant space but given our booking was made at short notice this was understandable. For two people we paid £235 which was for 3 courses, 1 bottle of wine and 1 bottle of water. The restaurant also decorated my dessert to recognise my birthday which was a nice touch. I would recommend this restaurant for a special occasion.

Came here for dinner - it was pretty empty on a Thursday night. The menu was to be found scanning a QR code on your phone due to COVID-19 preventative measures. Distance between guests was also enforced. The staff is lovely and the food is above average. The portions are averaged size and pretty expensive, but good quality. The dessert was really good and enough to split. It was a nice experience for a small European based menu.

The food here is very good. A limited menu but the produce used is excellent and so too is their culinary preparations. The Bouillabaisse is a must try. The service is good, and our waiter was very helpful with his recommendations. The restaurant is quite large so when it is not full, the atmosphere is a little flat.

We celebrated Christmas Eve at this beautiful restaurant. We had the set menu which our waitress helped pairing with a wonderful red wine from their extensive wine list. The service was impeccable as well as the food and the atmosphere. Loved every minute.

It was amazing! We went before the Taylor Swift concert (~2:30) and service was super quick and our waiter was super kind. We ordered a garden salad (super filling, get the smaller size) and the ravioli (get the big one solely because you will want more). The ravioli was totally the highlight as it was delicious.

Atmosphere is nice. The food is overpriced for what it is even for Zurich standards. All the dishes were extremely salty and some fish dishes didn’t seem quite fresh. The beef was too chewy and in general none of the dishes was special. There were a lot of flavors combined but lacking of character. In addition, we got food poisoning right after returning home. For the price point service was also disappointing, the waiters didn’t even refill the waters or the wine. You would search for some time if you needed something. The dish names were just mentioned without really explaining every time the composition of the dish. Would have expected more from this restaurant and concept.

Easily the best meal I had in Zurich! The small plates menu meant that my partner and I were able to try loads of different dishes which we loved. The flavour combinations were amazing and different than what I would usually expect (like truffle with desert). They had a large selection of wines and the staff were able to make recommendations that my partner and I really enjoyed.

I had dinner at Bauernschänke in Zurich last night and it was absolutely lovely. The food was nothing short of amazing – I’ve honestly never experienced such creative and well-balanced flavor combinations before. You can really tell that the chef knows exactly what he’s doing when it comes to flavors! The concept is all about sharing plates – they recommend 4 to 6 dishes for two people from their à la carte menu, but you can also order from their seasonal selection or go for the surprise menu if you’re feeling adventurous. Two absolute highlights for me: the churros with Gruyère cheese, which were unexpectedly addictive, and the dessert – a cookie with truffle – a real flavor explosion! The atmosphere is super cozy and relaxed, and the service was incredibly friendly and fast. All in all, a wonderful dining experience – I can’t wait to go back!

Creative cooking with very original little servings and good choice for for everyone (fish, meat, veg). The waiters were just perfect and the atmosphere very cosy. Prices were descent for Zurich! Little advise, take 3 plates / pers (excluding desert). I took 4 but it was a bit too much!

I had the most incredible dining experience here! The food was sooo good. Every dish was a work of art. The staff attention to details was truly remarkable: we never had an empty glass or a dirty plate on the table. The wine pairing was also really good. The sommelier has a deep understanding of wine pairing, enhancing our dining experience even further. My favourite bite was the venison cheek at the beginning and the kaiseki style pudding. This is more than just a restaurant; it's an experience. If you're looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion or simply try new dishes this is the place to be. Amazing place only a few 100 meters from the main tourist pedestrian areas of Zurich. Great outdoor seating on a summer evening. Loved the vegetarian options, but all dishes very great and packed with flavor.

A wonderful surprise. Very modern and simple design. Clean and serene! We shared few plates and we enjoyed a lot. The ravioli are delicious. They have also a vegetarian restaurant very close. Cannot recommend this place. Whether you are looking for some great chocolates as gifts or for yourself, it’s such a cute little store. They also do takeaway hot chocolate that I swear it’s the richest and most creamy hot chocolate ever.

I travelled from Sydney Australia and was delighted to find this wonderful delight of divine chocolate in Zurich. Eva made my selection easy. She was one with the store. I can’t wait to give my wife and daughter max’s chocolates. Not for my son, however. He will devour them too quickly. 😊

This was such a pleasant stop on our way to dinner. The employee we worked with gave us a recommendation for the family member we were shopping for, and he gave us samples of a couple different types of chocolate. He was friendly and conversational. The interior of the store is nicely decorated as well.

Wonderful satellite store from the Lucerne chocolatiers, staff was super helpful with the seasonal chocolates and they are very conscious of all of their ingredients including no palm oil. Great place to take home some hand made chocolates from Switzerland that aren’t the main brands easily found globally.

Max Chocolatier in Zurich is a delightful gem — the welcoming staff make you feel instantly at home, happily sharing their knowledge (and a few irresistible samples). The boutique’s charming design sets the stage for their top-notch chocolates, which are as beautiful as they are delicious. Service is quick, friendly, and polished, making the whole experience as sweet as their creations.

One of the most popular european place for visitors to eat. Loved the food.. amazing recommendation by servers. My waitress was superb, never felt I am eating alone on my solo trip. The wait list is always long so go early. I think all selections are superb. Would definitely go next time in the town.

We showed up without a reservation and even though the place was packed, they found us a table really quickly. The service was excellent, and the fondue (the main reason we came) was absolutely spectacular, worth every penny! We also ordered a ribeye, but honestly it wasn’t our favorite, mainly because of the size and flavor (in America we’re used to larger portions, so my husband felt this one was a bit small). Other than that, the place is super cozy and the staff was really attentive. Like everything in Zurich, you do have to keep the prices in mind, but it’s totally worth it for the fondue experience. We ordered a fondue for three plus individual main dishes, and it was perfect.

Great place. This is the place for fondue on Zurich. Hands down! Started with pumpkin soup which is seasonal. It had roasted pumpkin seeds which added to the taste. Had typical fondue with bread and potatoes. Perfect consistency throughout. We got the mild cheese but they had many stronger variations. Topped dinner off with the banana split which was served with warm chocolate sauce. Amazing! Finally, service was well above average. Our server, Alex, was friendly and attentive. Highly recommended!

I have been waiting to eat fondue in Zurich and we were not disappointed. Adler’s Swiss Chuchi was excellent! The flavor of the muiti-muiti fondue was delicious with unlimited bread. We also had onion soup with baked pastry and meat board. All cooked to perfection. The pastry on top of the onion soup was light and flaky and the soup was a delicate balance of onions and broth. Enjoyed it immensely!! Our server Tobias was friendly and attentive, and gave us wonderful food suggestions. Thank you.

We had the classic cheese fondue and it came with a huge basket of bread. The cheese was fragrant with wine. We added grilled chicken. We had the Rosti with egg n cheese. Rosti was not crispy though Overall experience was fine. Nothing too fancy but I guess its quintessential swiss meal have re the fondue. We wanted a seat inside but do not have. Asked about how long it would take, the host , without checking inside, just told us she does not know. She could have checked the inside and let us have an idea. In the end we sat outside

The cheese fondue costs CHF 36.50 per person, and since we only ordered three mains, we had to take two pax portions (CHF 73) for fondue. 💰 Food & Value The fondue was creamy and flavorful, but honestly, the price is on the higher side compared to portion size. 🕐 Timing & Queue We arrived around 11:50 AM, and a queue was already forming before the restaurant opened. We waited about 10 minutes to get a table. 👩‍🍳 Service Service could be improved. We noticed that some staff seemed to be racism, so we waited longer even though we arrived earlier. We have a layover in Zürich for the evening, so we hopped on the bus, over to the train station and made our way into old town. Soon as we got off of the train, we went to the tourist shop and got a map and asked the gentleman where would his favorite place be for dinner. This is a place he suggested. As we mosey on through the city, enjoying all the views that we could we made our way towards this restaurant. It was approximately 615 at night and the line was starting to form to get a table. We did not have to wait and we’re seated in the back at a table for two. Shortly there after a waiter approach us and took our drink order. My wife and I each ordered a glass of wine, very small poor for the amount they charge you. We were interested in doing the fondue, but we figured that would be a little too heavy and a little too much for just two people so we ordered separately. She ordered the salmon with boiled potatoes and spinach, I ordered the veal schnitzel with spatzel. One thing I can tell you is we were extremely pleased with our choice. My veal came out very hot along with the spatzel. You can definitely tell you’re in a restaurant that serves cheese fondue because of the smell when you enter. Sometime it isn’t always pleasant. We enjoyed our meal and glad for the recommendation. We definitely would come back here again.

This is a nice little place to have a good coffee and smalle bite. if you order big meal, will regret as too expensive. we have 2 coffee and 2 breakfast, total $70 CHF, almost $130 CAD, i never have such an expensive breakfast in my life.........be careful when you order ! This is real Swiss chocolate. When you visit this place you see locals having coffee and some treats, or going and buying chocolate for themselves/friends. I think we were the only tourists there for our visit. The staff were fine, but not the best service experience that we have received in Zurich. The selection is amazing. I wish I could have tried everything! Not only is the chocolate delicious, it’s presented in a gorgeous manner.

Always a must stop in Zurich. Confiserie Sprüngli offers top quality Swiss chocolate, tasty savoury bites, and consistently good cakes and coffee. We stop by every time.

Highly visible corner store on Bahnhofstrasse. Huge selection not only of their famous pralines but also of baked goods, pastries and cakes. Very helpful staff. Go ahead and treat yourself.

A hit and miss experience with Luxemburgerli here! I loved the pistachio, where this was very much present, chocolate, and Vanilla (the Vanilla beans throughout the filling added glorious flavour!). The texture of all the macarons were perfect, a light crisp and chewy centre. The fillings were pleasantly creamy. However, the hazelnut and strawberry cheesecake macarons lacked any flavour! This is disappointing considering how expensive they are! The service was nice and I was given storage advice (it was a very hot day!)

It was hard to choose what to buy in this shop. Everything looked so perfect and delicious! We decided on some mini macarons and chocolate covered macarons. We enjoyed the different flavors. My favorite was passionfruit. I wish I had bought some more things here!

Overall great experience. I learned about August through the Michelin guide and wanted to try it myself. Overall the service was excellent. I had the salad, rosti with the mushroom and beef stew which is Swiss classic. I loved the Swiss wine (forgot the name). Special mention about the bread which was delicious! I finished my meal with an espresso and the dessert Mille feuille. The vibe was also great- watching the chefs cook and everyone enjoy their meal. I would return!

Everything is perfect and the service personnel are all very nice. The restaurant-made mustard is amazing and matches all dishes. Cream spinach is fresh and not greasy at all. This is the most memorable restaurant for Switzerland food in Zurich.

Turned dinner into a wine and food tasting experience! Rychard, our server, was superb in making recommendations and providing excellent service. Started with a mixed salad and a glass of German Riesling, then a veal and pork sausage with Swiss Merlot, and Zurcher Gesschnetzeltes and a side of roesti with a Swiss Pinot Noir! Ended with mocha and stracciatella gelato! The place has a really friendly, intimate vibe, and we had an amazing overall experience. So glad we picked this restaurant for our only night in Zurich!

An eclectic restaurant situated in the old town, serving meats raised on the farm with a depth of flavour. The assorted sausages are amazing especially when enjoyed with the sweet mustard. Try the rosti, it is delicious. Reserve a table as it gets busy.

An excellent restaurant where 80% of produce is procured from its own farm. Never tasted butter so creamy. Generous serves, excellent quality & presenting food,attentive waiters. Not that expensive for Zurich.Highly recommended

A really nice pub where to go! To be honest the view from the balcony - rooftop is good but not super good, means you have a cool view but you will not see your better sun set or sunrise there ! Talking about the drinks, it is really good, the service is nice, the price is more expensive than other pub (mostly conditioned by the quality of the service and the rooftop)! I did not try the food but it is probably the same. So I would say if you wish to have a view just go, the service is high quality for the price. If not than you might choose another option 😊

High end bar and restaurant. Drinks were great. Steak was good and cooked perfectly. The place sits atop the casino and has wonderful views. Only issue was the price - in a town known for being expensive... it was very much so.

Nice place for dinner amazing filet and everyone's dinner was great!!! We all loved the live music and breathtaking views of the city skyline, everything about this place was classy. This was rated in the top 5 roof top lounges in Switzerland I would have to say they did live up to the hype. The waitstaff offered excellent service, I would definitely recommend!!

One of the classic posh bars and restaurants of Zurich. The setting is nice and the service is also excellent. The cocktails are great normal Zurich prices. The food is a little bit overpriced, but the service and the atmosphere make up for it. Definetely make a reservation cause it gets quite crowded.

Very nice and cozy atmoshpere. Loved the fact that the tables were big enough to hold all the dishes we ordered for our brunch and were also distant enough from the neighboring ones to keep some privacy. Overall great experience - we’ll definitely go back in summer when the garden will also be open :)

I had my birthday party on the first floor of Bebek at the Rosenbar. The venue gave it a nice lounge feeling and my guests were able to walk around and mingle with others. It was so convenient to be by the bar and restrooms as well. The staff was really helpful in helping me understand the vegan options and, in the end, my guests loved the food. We had a variety of mezzes from falafel and fatayer to hummus and stuffed vine leaves. The service during my party was really fantastic as well. I would highly recommend Bebek as a great place to dine and hold an event.

We had a birthday event on Sunday morning with a party of around 25 PAX and all of us really enjoyed the delicious food and lively atmosphere. Staff were very busy but still very attentive and helpful. Food was plentiful and very tasty, varied and served on etageres, we felt very welcome, thank you to BEBEK.

Really delicious food, helpful staff and cool cocktails. The menu à discretion was relaxed and varied. We sat by the trams, the interior is cool, a bit far from the kitchen but the service was nevertheless attentive.

We had a very nice experience. We took place outside and were immediately served by a friendly waiter. We tried the small appetizers mix, then two main courses (lamb and iskembe kebab). The lam was very tender, delicious!! Cannot complain about the food. We ended our dinner with sorbet (presentation could have been better than just adding a cookie). Quality/price fair! Recommended!

I visited Bebek for dinner on a Saturday evening. Upon entering, I told the front host it would be for one and he told me to go find a table upstairs, despite there being many open tables downstairs which I found odd. When I went upstairs, I found the atmosphere and decor to be completely different. It was much quieter with only a couple guests and 1 bartender. I returned back downstairs and requested to be seated downstairs and I was. I ordered the Mango Spritz non alcoholic drink (13.50 CHF), Fried lamb shank skewers with Rahib (21.50 CHF) and the Dates wrapped in bacon with ginger-yoghurt-dip (14.50 CHF) and all were incredibly tasty! I was disappointed by the service as it took a long time for my server to come by to take my order and again when I needed the bill. I also did not find them friendly at all, though part of that could be attributed to the language barrier. There was also a fee for water of 5 CHF.

This is a very special restaurant ❤️ we celebrated my mother's 70th birthday here tonight. The food was amazing and the service couldn't have been better! Alex did a great job suggesting dishes we wouldn't have chosen ourselves. The UNSER ZÜRIGSCHNÄTZLETS was perfection 👌 They also brought out a birthday surprise for her that made her day! I highly recommend for any day but especially for a special occasion!! You won't be disappointed!

Wow, what a treat I gave myself when I decided to sit at the table of this restaurant. Exquisite typical food prepared with quality ingredients. Friendly and smiling stuff that made my experience even better. Towards the end of my meal a couple came and asked the waitress whether they could order a drink only. I thought about going to their table to tell them that, by not ordering food, they had no idea what they were missing. Highly recommended!

Excellent location. Super friendly service. Like the chop. Ice creams not the best. Small wine list with some OK wines but naughty pricing. Love the dining room over 700 years old. No frills OK dining with friendly attentive service. Please improve your ice cream making skills. Add a little vegtable glycerine to the sorbet this helps and a pinch of salt both reduce crystalisation and enhance the flavor (the salt).

Slightly above average ramen, okay udon and downright terrible karaage (fried chicken) that tastes like it was bought from a supermarket. And the suggestion of a tip when paying (minimum of 5%) is just downright crass

Careful, closing time is at midnight but kitchen closes at 10pm. We arrived just in time before the later. The food came out quickly, and looked immaculate. It also tasted fantastic. My most recent comparison is Yumi, where the noodles were a little more bouncy, but the meat was tougher. Overall a great spot to end the night. Cozy interior. I’ll certainly be back.

Great coffee in a cool little chocolate shop. Can see the coffee beams being roasted next door in an open window. Not much of an area to drink there, but can take to go to cool spots near by. Coffee was very good and the service was very friendly.

Many specialty grocery stores exist, but this is your best option if you're into tea, coffee, dried fruits, or chocolates! The store is roughly divided in half. Facing the building, the right half is dedicated mostly to tea and dried goods with a few other items thrown in. The left half sells specialty chocolate bars and coffee. If you're from the states you'll find those chocolate bars and other items surprisingly cheap. It's worth browsing just to see and smell the selection of this classic shopping choice. Staff is helpful and does speak English.

We came across the tee cafe on our walking tour of Zurich old city. After the tour we went back and enjoyed some famous hot chocolate. It is an institution to visit for chocolate lovers !!

Stumbled upon this place during a walk through the old town, and so glad I did. Just glorious; an old-style store with beautiful displays and a wonderful selection of spices, teas, and other specialty items. Beautifully appointed store, too, with some old style furnishings and decorations. I wanted to stand and take 100 photos but tried not to get in the way :)

Love love this place. Delicious teas and hit chocolates, and I'm reliably informed the matches latte is very good too. Lovely staff and excellent cakes. The only drawback is how busy and popular it is, and how few seats there are. But very much worth a visit if you can secure a coveted seat!

After walking by earlier in the day and seeing the full patio I decided to come back for dinner. The patio is definitely the best part. Ordered the trout and the veal. Also got the cheese plate as an appetizer. Cheese plate was the best. The mustard jam (or whatever it was) was perfect. I wish they sold it by the jar. The trout was good. Everything else was not memorable. Service was really slow. The table next to us ordered two minutes before us and finished their meal before our food came out despite having similar dishes. It’s definitely a slow long meal here.

Saturday evening, 4 people, a nice table near Schmiede Wiedikon station. Warm, welcoming vibe, felt like dinner at a friend’s place. Inside mixes chic design with that classic Swiss Beiz feeling, very clean and professionally run. Service was superb and the wine selection is strong. Reasons for 4 instead of 5 stars: the rösti was too dry with a slightly burned top, the risotto was their own interpretation using regular rice, and the meat portion was on the small side. Overall, a charming spot, will be back and can definitely recommend.

Traditional Swiss fare in a gorgeous old school building. We came for the “Wild” (game season is a big deal in Switzerland), and we were not disappointed. Excellent wine menu.

One of the most friendly staff. Food are good, they have currently a game menu, I had the reh-hufschnitzel. It was really good! They have also their normal menu but I wanted to try their wild menu. They have also a good choice of small dessert which is really nice because the main dishes are generally huge so we could just have something small and sweet and not feel too full. We will go again this summer to enjoy their terrace!

The location is really nice. We got faced with the park and could enjoy the skyline and the people enjoying the park. The service was attentive and quite friendly. The menu doesn't have many options, which is in my books a positive sign. But for the price we paid, we expected a slightly better quality/flavors. I will go again but maybe in autumn or winter when there is a different menu. Weirdly the cake was served upside down. Not sure if that was done on purpose or not.

This is a very popular local spot. I had a late lunch which included the soup and salad and I also ordered the asparagus dish (but without the egg that comes with it). It was delicious. The staff is really friendly and accommodating. The vibe is a little off because there is quite a bit of noise from the viaduct construction that is happening on the other side of the restaurant. It's an especially popular spot with families and toddlers because it overlooks Josefwiese, a park with lots of amenities for small children.

Viadukt is located under a railway and beside a beautiful park. The venue was very nicely decorated and comfortable to have dinner in. The waiters were very friendly and attentive to our needs. My only complaint was that the rice of the chicken dish was a little salty. However, the fish dish was delicious. I highly recommend a visit to this restaurant to satisfy your craving for a Swiss meal.

Delightful restaurant with excellent views of the park. It was so busy on a beautiful July evening that we had to sit slightly inside. My wife and I enjoyed the bratwurst with potatoes and salad (the sweet mustard was a solid addition). The chocolate cake was dense, had full chocolate flavour, and you get two pieces. Awesome!

My husband and I had an exceptionally lovely time for dinner at viadukt. The ambiance is extremely cozy, the staff was super friendly and the food was phenomenal! It’s a modern take on Swiss food and that’s exactly what we were looking for. It’s a bit silly to me that people give less stars because of price - it’s Zürich! One of most expensive places in the world. I felt like the food prepared and provided was well worth the price we paid - esp for Zürich.

Great place for a warm day. Friendly service, very clean and love to be under the viaduct and hear the trains pass. We had the menu which was inventive, well priced and delicious. Cold maíz soup w coconut, salad with grains, I had the vegan dish (hummus, grilled broccoli, beats) and my partner had a super tasty veal dish. Will come back for sure.

Spent a nice evening there even though it first started a bit unfortunate. Our table wasn’t ready for about 20+ minutes (I made a reservation) but we were offered drinks on the house to make up for it. Really appreciated! Food and drinks were fantastic and the atmosphere is unique.

This is the best bar in Zürich. There may be good bars that locals favour more but this is THE BAR for cocktail lovers. The bartenders were so knowlegeable and the drinks were brilliant. We visited this bar with friends on our Switzerland roadtrip when we spent a few days in Zürich. This one was best of the Zürich bars. The 20th century was delicious. Despite being one of the simple ones, not all bartenders know how to make it as balanced. This bar passed the test. I will definitely visit again on my next trip here.

Deserves to be the best bar in Zurich. Why the heck is it not in the 100 best bars of the world already? Service is amazing. Instead of ordering from a menu I told them what I want directionally: spirit forward, not sweet, bitter or sour is great and liquor preference as nothing too sweet and no tequila. Tried cocktails in this order: Paper plane Kentucky yacht club Naked and famous Old fashioned - this was the perfect last cocktail - very smokey and capped off a great night. If I had started with this, I would have had 4 of these instead!! Unlike every other run of the mill old fashioned, zero hint of sweetness, just a huge depth of flavor. Imagine that!! Thematically, they were perfect! The curry wurst, spicy was a great accompaniment to the cocktails!

Tried this restaurant based upon other reviews and it did not disappoint. The food was amazing such that we came back a second time with additional travel companions. I had the truffle pasta both times. We truly felt like we were in someone's house after being invited over for a wonder Italian dinner. Highly recommend.

After looking for an Italian on the first night of our holiday we found this place. We hadn't booked but they could seat us if we had the table back within just under 90 mins. Since we only wanted a main meal we accepted the challenge. The sign said they cook everything fresh so it may take a little longer. My daughter eventually asked when the food was coming, just as it appeared. I call that a win. The meals were incredible, brilliant service and a great atmosphere. Overall the dinner was excellent and we were out within an hour. Job done.

What a nice surprise in Niederdorf!!. I was walking around at lunchtime there and was looking for a place to eat. Although I have never been enthusiastic about eating in Niederdorf, a place for tourists, more than anything else. I arrived almost at the end, towards Central, when I saw this place, an italian restaurant, maybe not 100%, with only 4 tables outside. I went in and they showed me the table where I should sit. Interesting menu and also wines, with 4 lunch menus to choose from between 27.50 chf and 34.50 chf. A simple, uncomplicated ambiance.. and a good plate of pasta.

Zurich might not be known for its pasta, but Le Pasta is absolutely worth checking out. The food here is incredible – from their pastas to their perfectly baked pizzas. Yes, the food takes a little longer to come out, but they’re upfront about it from the start, and honestly, it’s worth the wait – everything is made fresh and it really shows in the taste. The customer service is fantastic, and the staff is both helpful and friendly. They even have an iPad with photos of the dishes in case the menu isn’t enough to help you decide – a really thoughtful touch. There’s adequate seating both indoors and outdoors, and the bathrooms were clean (which is always a good sign). It’s a bit on the pricier side, but given the quality of the food and overall experience, I’d say it’s well worth it. Highly recommend if you're in Zurich and craving a quality Italian meal!

The food was great, the people were nice. We tried the garlic shrimp, the mushroom cream pasta, and the spicy tomato pasta. All were 5/5, especially the shrimps!!!! Definitely will come back if I have guests visit from other countries 🥰

Good food and friendly service! We love the Pinsa so much. It’s crusty outside and fluffy inside. The Orecchiette was even better! Al dente orecchiette and yummy ragu, we scraped the plate clean 😋 Would definitely be back again!

My friend and I were a bit disappointed yesterday. We didn’t finish our meal (few of them), but co-workers of the restaurant always wanted to take it away. Few times we said, that we didn’t finish our meal and of course it’s visible (because we had 2 pieces of Pinza, I had still fries and my friend had half of Spaghetti). But co-workers consistently were asking if we finished and after few times of trying to take food from us, they actually did 😅 I never had this experience before, but that felt not good, specially when the bill is more than CHF 150 and prices are a bit higher than generally in Zurich. Food: For me food was delicious, my friend didn’t like the pasta with shrimps that much. That’s why I put 4 For general service: everyone was very nice and helpful, but for the situation with the food — I put 2 for Atmosphere.

The bakery/ cafe is a throwback to an Era that is gone. I was there yesterday and bought a few pastries for takeout. They were so good that I was back today to try another of their pastries. It was as good!!! Since it was raining, the patio was not open, and the photos show that. FYI, they are open on Sundays, which is great since many of the bakeries are not.

Beautiful place. Very old school bakery, the waitress was super sweet. We had the apple strudel and hot chocolate both were good ! Definitely worth visiting !

You feel the history in the café. Definitely recommend for a drink & cake. Beautifully decorated, the service is very nice. The hot chocolate (CHF 10.50 with whipped cream) is a generous portion, tastes perfect (not too sweet) and warms you up.

We stumbled in here looking for some pastries between meals and it was the best we could’ve hoped for. Everything was delicious, the staff was very friendly, and the inside of the cafe is beautiful.

Based on the reviews, this café was a must-visit, and I was a bit surprised to see a queue on a Sunday like this, but the wait wasn't long. The café is quite spacious with two floors and many tables, all of which were full. It's a typical café - I ordered coffee and hot chocolate to try. It beats the café in Paris that I really liked - it's easy to drink, delicious, and I also tried the cheesecake. I didn't buy any chocolate to take home because I thought it was a little too expensive. If you ask whether I would come again, I would definitely return for the hot chocolate.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

The hot chocolate was as delicious as people made it out to be, and the place is absolutely beautiful on the inside. It’s a shame that it’s ruined by bad service. Having gone by myself I ordered one of the smallest preset breakfasts menus. After piles of food arriving to my table I told them they had made a mistake. I was met with some resistance, but insisted knowing what I had pointed to. I tried to accommodate saying I would eat a smaller portion of what they brought me, but the waiter insisted on taking everything away and giving me my menu. After another 20 minutes I was asked if my breakfast had arrived, which it hadn’t. I then asked to pay for just the hot chocolate if my breakfast hadn’t been started on. After an hour I left only having drank my hot chocolate which arrived in my first 10 minutes. Overall just disappointed having such a lovely place ruined by poor service. I would still tell people to check it out since the place is really wonderful inside and the hot chocolate is delicious. Just be ready for bad service.

Our server Florian was absolutely amazing!! We had just gotten off a 9 hour bus from Austria and he went above and beyond to give us the best service possible. Not only was the food and hot chocolate incredible but he also gave us recommendations on where to visit in Zurich!

Excellent choice for our first meal in Switzerland. The server was so friendly and kind to explain the menu. The Peter and Parma were absolutely delicious. The restaurant smelled amazing. I think I would try the potatoes if we are back again during our short trip.

What an amazing place for a late dinner in Zurich! Absolutely delicious raclette with a cozy and homey vibe and good service. Food came out very quickly when I was there and the prices are very good for Zurich. I could see it being busy during peak hours but I was able to get a table with no wait on a weekday.

Nice unique swiss experience. Raclette is famous to Switzerland, and I figured this would be a good spot for it. They've got a few different options/flavors. I ended up opting to make my own. I did garlic and truffle cheese. Both were delicious. I also added bacon, which was a great choice. The service was very good. Only thing is that it feels quite pricey for what it is... potatoes and cheese... other than that, great experience!

I don't know what to say about this place. We were bigger group and needed a bigger table and we didn't have reservation. When asked about a table, staff was annoyed by us a bit. They managed to seat us in the end and took our orders. By the time food was ready one beer was spilled and plates were mixed around by staff in the way that I didn't end up eating what I ordered. I do understand that confusion happens and that there was a lot of orders around but that should be better organized. The place is not that big, but they do not seem to handle it good at that point in time. Also, the food was good and raclette was tasty and just the right texture. I wish that our experience was better regarding staff part.

It was my last dinner with my mom and daddy after long travel in Switzerland. Since we are not familiar with cheese food, I was a little bit worried. Amazing place !! Came here for brunch on a Saturday at 14:00 without a reservation. Had to wait around 20/25 min to get seated but it was worth it !! The blueberry pancakes are amazing, not too sweet and the maple syrup is a nice touch. The salmon bagel is also really good !

Stopped by on our way out of town and had the most incredible breakfast! The yogurt bowl and pastry were insanely delicious. There was a great variety of items and the staff was so helpful and kind. Loved it!

Came here as we had visited on a previous holiday and loved it. Food wasn't quite as good as I remembered - we had the cheese & meat plate and the chocolate pancakes. With 2 coffees (which weren't super hot) the cost was $50CHF which is pretty pricey for a fairly basic breakfast for 2 people. Service was friendly, received food & coffee pretty quickly and there were nice tables to sit outside on a sunny morning.

Our first visit to Spanish restaurant was left with great impression as well as the service level which was highly commendable. Sangria as our first drink, follow by a fried calamari, the dipping sauce was mixed with garlic which allow the calamari taste standout along with the tad of lemon juice. We tried to order grilled fish platter as well the famous Spanish paellas seafood rice. The lead staff Francisco was honest to tell us that we ordered too much, between the two he suggested Paellas, and we were delighted with this signature Spanish cuisine, the presentation & taste were great. The mixes of seafood & chicken essence infused into the rice, and that made the Spanish Paella excel. The service was fast and attentive considering that was a Sunday evening. Thanks Fran & Mik for the great service & hospitality, they left a high note for our first visit to Zurich.

It's been an absolute pleasure. I love Spanish food in general, but the quality of the food was a very special. We've had the paella which has been perfect and very traditional. The atmosphere and staff was also very welcoming.

I have rarely had such fantastic Spanish food in my life! The service is excellent and the atmosphere is unique and authentic. I will definitely be coming back as often as possible. Great stuff overall!

We came across Bodega Española while Googling for dining options near us as we were traversing the district. We sat street side to enjoy the cool breeze and watch locals go about their daily lives. These must've been the choice seats as our table was occupied almost immediately after we took our leave. The menu seems to be purposefully kept uncluttered and curated to only put it's best food (pun intended) forward. The white-haired gentleman serving us assisted with our selections leaving us reassured we wouldn't be disappointed. Bear in mind this is for just the two of us - we had the Samfaina (aubergine , peppers, tomatoes, zucchini & couscous), Parrillada (grilled fish of the day, cuttlefish, prawns & salsa mery) and Swiss Buey Entrecôte (Entrecôte from Swiss Black Angus beef) and Pimientos de Padrón (roasted Spanish peppers, drizzled in olive oil & sprinkled with sea salt)) - and there was a small bowl of thick-cut fries as well as the customary basket of bread somewhere in there as well. She had a sangria and I was offered a well-paired Rioja. The meat, seafood and peppers were very tasty. The veggies were a hearty portion but possibly the lower-rated dish of our meal (although we did clean out the entire bowl regardless!). Overall, a very satisfying dinner for us.

We had our wedding reception at Sonnenberg (in the Bellevue room) last week, and everything was amazing. The organisation was seamless, every arrangement worked perfectly, and the staff were exceptionally attentive. On top of that, the food was delicious, which made the whole experience unforgettable. The only small thing was that the vegetarian option had no protein and was not so filling for our non-meat-eaters, but that was the only little flaw. Thank you so much for the organisation and for helping to create such a special day for us.

Located on a nice spot with view overlooking the city and lake Zurich, enjoyed a Sunday brunch from the a la cart menu. Courteous, friendly and polite service and excellent kitchen with more unique signature dishes. The ambience is very nice for a quaint, relaxing time. We really enjoyed our stay and can only recommend!

I came here for my birthday with friends and made a reservation a month in advance. I mainly wanted to come for karoake as it is listed on the website, but sadly it does not exist anymore (please update your website!). The staff seemed pretty stressed out. I ordered two bottles of champagne for my table and the staff forgot to pour one glass for a guest. I wanted to order the mixed dim sum for the table and asked how many people does it feed. I guess the staff thought I and others asked how many pieces because they answered “for four”. As we were ten people I ordered two orders. The staff came back with four plates only and the two baskets of four pieces of tiny dumplings. We had to order another two and an additional appetizer to feed everyone. After we all ordered our food and received it, we did not receive enough plates. The staff seemed angry that we asked more than once for plates because he said I know, as he poured our drinks we ordered after we asked for plates. We all ordered dessert and finished it. Afterward the staff came and brought me the same dessert I ordered, and sang happy birthday. I was a bit confused, but also questioning why did you not present me this dessert before me ordering it 😂 It seems a bit unorganized here as there were a lot of guests and perhaps because we were a table of 10. Food was good but I would not come back here again.

Beautiful restaurant with great setting. Unfortunately, the food, whilst also looking visually very appealing, just did not live up to its looks. Not bad, but quite average. Wait staff also seemed to be in a rush as the place was crowded and we needed to reserve for a Saturday night. Of all the dishes, it seemed like the curries were more on point so I would recommend those. The main highlight is you have an option to dine over a koi pond (need to reserve/separate menu/limited seating) which is a really cool idea - perfect for a date night.

If you are looking for upscale Asia fusion restaurant, this is the place to go. First things first - the decor: I fell in love with the whole Cambodian theme inside and out. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food: packed with flavors and presented very well. The service: Very fast and efficient.

Still sports the impressive interior design reminiscent of angkor temple stone carvings. The main reason to come here doesn't live up to what it was a few years ago... The food/price ratio is not ok and bordering obscene, even for Zürich: e.g. 48 chf for a small plate of meat with some sauce. Looking like a Cambodian retaurant and filling the menu with chinese, thai and japanese dishes is not ok. Add the fact that this *Cambodian* restaurant doesn't have Angkor Beer is just sad. Combine with a set of highly indifferent (not to be mistaken with Asian reservedness and deference) staff and you will have a less than ideal feeling when the bill comes along. This could be a great place with just a few changes.

Wowww... I didn't expect that in this rather cool business or industrial zone. The garden is like an alternative anteroom to a youth centre and the inside is just like it used to be in those "les Halles" in France... Loud, colourful and simply cosy. Great. The reception and service were super organised and friendly. Then, unfortunately, the food... couldn't quite keep up. The tartare, as is so often the case, too firmly processed, too many ingredients (I suspect because many people don't want to experience raw meat after all) and so mushy. The moules... Sorry, it can't be that difficult. Is it because we arrived rather late at half past 8 (that's early in France) or because they simply produce them in bulk here? More than half of the mussels were empty... The meat was discovered at the end in the watery broth... or broken... These splinters were also found in the broth... The muscle meat was dry, really dry. We began to wonder how it could be done like that. Preheated in the afternoon, warmed up in the streamer and then doused with water and onion? No, despite the great ambience, the food was below average.

I've been coming here for years. It's known for its mules and fries, but I can also recommend any of the other food. It's definitely worth a visit, even if just for a beer or cocktail.

Our team visits this place frequently, and quite often something is off (for example, the soup is too salty or in general not tasty, or the bread with goat cheese is soaked from the salad). Today, one of our coworkers found a huge caterpillar in her salad (about 5 cm long). The waiter did not react at all — no apology, no refund, and nothing was offered to make up for the incident.

Super atmosphere with industrial decor and eclectic setting. Food must be ordered at the counter but is then served. Service is friendly. I tried moules-frites which were amazing ! Definitely would go there for a drink with friends tasting tapas/antipasti. Can sit outside or inside.

Ate here before a concert at the Volkshaus. Very cool restaurant with high ceilings, large windows and warm decoration. A welcoming ambience .Quiet, but busy. Food was very good. They offered a large variety if classic dishes with seasonal dishes. Service was excellent. Attentive, friendly and efficient. They also have outdoor seating I believe. Would highly recommend coming to restaurant Volkshaus. Thank you.

Everything was absolutely delicious—from the fresh tartare and tender tagliata to the crispy cordon bleu. The pistachio tiramisu and chocolate dessert were divine. Beautiful presentation, excellent cocktails, and the Mura Mura red wine was a standout. Friendly, attentive service made the whole experience even better. Highly recommended!

The Hall for the concerts looks like a dance hall, not optimal for seeing the scene. However, nice good building.

Special interiors with high ceilings but cozy. Service is fast, friendly and professional. Food differs from very good to mediocre. For example, Cordon Bleu was a gigantic unsubtle hunk of meat running with a huge amount of melted cheese. Pricey, but it is Zürich so you can't expect cheap food, especially meat here. Nice wine menu and a very cozy old styled bar.

Nice place to stop for a light brunch. Several options to choose from, including set options. The space is nice and ambience is laid back. I opted for the muesli and coffee and was not disappointed. Staff was friendly and service fast. Check it out if you’re in the area.

The food was excellent, however, the pricing is a bit high for the portion sizes. If you don't mind smaller portions or ordering a bunch of dishes (which adds up) it is a great place to visit. They also were sold out of some of the things we wanted to order. The staff was very nice, you won't have a dedicated server but they were somehow able to make it work.

An incredible evening at Gül – a true journey through the flavors of Turkey 🇹🇷 We kicked things off with Raki and a perfectly mixed Negroni, followed by a table full of deliciousness: creamy Cacık, rich Yumurta Salatası, crispy Yufka, juicy Köfte, and the standout Bazlamalı Köfte Kebabı. The Lahmacun was light and flavorful, the Manti absolutely melt-in-your-mouth, and we finished with golden, flaky Baklava. Every dish was bold, authentic, and full of soul. Can’t wait to go back!

Really nice garden and good service - a bit slow, but friendly. Now, the food is the main problem...some dishes were tasty but their most expensive dish on the menu, the so called "juicy lamb", is a joke. The meat is weird, not juicy at all...it is one of those cheap kebabs with kind of like a processed meat instead of real meat (see the picture). Honestly, we felt like idiots by being served something like this and paying such a high price for poor quality meat.

I honestly don’t even know where to start. The menu was a complete joke - a half-hearted collage of dishes that might have once been inspired by Turkish cuisine but somehow got lost on the way. You’ll find items with random, made-up “Turkish-sounding” names, and the few dishes that actually resemble something from Turkey taste like a distant memory of the real thing. Everything is absurdly overpriced for what you get. The portions are microscopic - one dish looks like a sample from a cooking class, and the rest could barely fill a toddler. The excuse? “The idea is to share.” Sure - but if you actually want to leave without being hungry, you’ll need to order about ten of these “shareable” baby portions. If you can’t decide, they offer a “surprise menu” - though good luck hearing what the surprise is. The noise level inside is unbearable. You sit shoulder to shoulder with strangers, and if the person across from you wants to reach their seat, they’ll have to do a small pilgrimage around the entire restaurant. And here comes the biggest irony: if you go there as a Turkish person expecting a touch of home - Turkish staff, a bit of Turkish spirit, someone speaking the language - forget it. Nobody seems to have the faintest idea about Turkish culture, cuisine, or even how to pronounce half the words on their own menu. All in all, this place was a massive disappointment. A “Turkish” restaurant with no Turkish soul, no flavor, and no respect for authenticity. They should seriously rethink their concept - or close it down altogether. Because right now, it’s nothing more than an overpriced gimmick bordering on a scam.

Food and service were both nice. Cute and traditional interior. Everything tasted very good except for broccoli which was too soggy for my taste.

The food was fantastic, the tuna carpaccio and smoked salmon taste fresh and refreshing, the asparagus cream soup is just nice without being too creamy. The Zurich chopped veal is tender, sorbet dessert is nice finish. The waiter Geogle is just so friendly and attentive to patron’s needs.

A Special Meal. A Special Experience. I completely chanced upon this historical dining establishment. I was wandering around the Altstadt, and was drawn to a basic chalkboard sign listing lunch specials. I was hungry so thought why not. Once I climbed the stairs and opened the door, I realized uh-oh. Beautiful, 500 year old wood paneled room. Everybody in suits - customers, maitre d' and wait staff. And me with my backpack, jeans and rain jacket. But they graciously offered me the one remaining table. It turned out to have a window seat - the perfect perch from which to enjoy my meal and watch the whole dining experience unfold around me. The menu is impressive and exciting. Swiss and seasonal specialities - elevated. I asked the maitre d' for recommendations, and went with all in-season: pumpkin cream soup and venison with brussel sprouts and spaetzle. The accompanying sauces were divine. I was much too full to even consider wine or dessert. But somehow, everybody else seemed to be consuming everything - appetizer, entree, dessert, coffee. Next time I will not eat all day to ensure I can fully enjoy all the courses across their entire menu! This is a special occasion treat - the menu, the food, the service, the classic dining room.

Great main dishes, really big portions. However I am not impressed by their capaccio. The restaurant is in a historical house spread over 3 floors. If you like the classic atmosphere w great Zuri specialty, definitely pay a visit.

Dining here is like being welcomed into someone’s home, with an amazingly professional service - a 10/10 dining experience! The food was also very high quality. The menu does definitely cater more to meat-eaters though, beware if you are vegan or vegetarian.

Small and cozy with candle light! good service, especially the senior staff, probably the manager, he never seemed rushing even it was a full house. His pace was just right. Food was all fresh and good starting from appetiser, Tuna tataki, then to main course Veal with noodles, then dessert. (I forgot taking pictures for all dishes) The pasta is freshly made, it states noodles but actually tastes exactly like papadelle. one of the best and fresh pasta I had. During main course, I appreciate they first offered half of the portion, they warmed the remaining portion on a small stove on the side. Then they offered the remaining while we finished the first half so the main was warm and nice! We just found this restaurant by chance, it was impressive and to our surprise, very good! Enjoy and recommend!

We were 3 girlfriends celebrating. We were asked to sit at a table next to a fridge-changed to a comfortable table. Order taken, water order mixed up. One steak ordered med rare was over cooked, sent back. The other steak was also over cooked but she didn‘t report it. I had fish, very dry, minut portion on bed of pasta and mushrooms. We asked the waiter for the check, 10 min later, no waiter, no check. My friend had to find the waiter for the check -overall very disappointing evening.

One of the "Wirtshäuser" in Zürich. Absolutely worth a visit but probably not my favorite one and I would probably visit something in Kreis 6. Prices are neither particularly cheap nor expensive. Service is an good as it gets also the quality of the food. Overall, very solid choice just nothing to get excited about.

Oldest wine house of Zürich. Service is very friendly. Try to master the trick in the apero room to have your name scribes onto the wall. The food is traditional Swiss and is very tasty. A great selection of wine. Reservation needed for sure.

Really good food and lovely staff. Expensive but comparative to most places in Zurich. I had Zürcher geschnetzeltes with rösti. A typically dish that is made up of sliced veal in a mushroom sauce served with a type of fried potato made into a hasbrown like patty.

Hard to beat the atmosphere of this place, the energy is great and the history intriguing (no spoilers). The service was impeccable and mega friendly, nice chat with the owners and head of staff. Food is classic swiss and quality top notch..must visit, for the special occassionand challenge at hand..check it out!

When traveling to Switzerland, we couldn’t have asked for a better dining experience. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome. Kyra, our server was EXCELLENT. She was patient and willing to take the time to explain menu options to us in English. The food was absolutely incredible as well! Highly recommend this restaurant to fellow travelers looking for a memorable and delicious Swiss dining experience.

TLDR: pasta is hit or miss, pizza was solid, everything else was mediocre, service was decent but strange. Chianalea was a mixed experience. Some of the dishes impressed, others didn’t. Linguine with clams and mussels was simple and classically delicious. The noodles were cooked al dente. The mollusks were small, but packed with salty, ocean-y flavor that infused the olive oil based sauce nicely. The fungi pizza was also nice; not too much cheese, sweet sauce, and chewy crust. Unfortunately, the second pasta dish (eggplant, red sauce, pecorino) was quite disappointing. The noodles were seriously undercooked for my taste with the ends of the noodles being completely hard. It’s kind of puzzling how staggeringly different the qualities of the two pastas we ordered were. The complimentary bread was unusually hard and dense. Everything else (mixed salad, marinated swordfish, bruschetta) was just satisfactory. The server was friendly and timely for European service standards. However, he forgot to offer us the pizza menu entirely. Only once we noticed tables around us eating pizza did we even know to inquire about a pizza menu. (Though, we probably could have noticed sooner given that pizzeria is in the name 😅). Chianela is a perfectly okay restaurant to go to if you’re in Zurich. Outdoor seating offered a beautiful view of the sun setting, service is a 3/5 by NYC standards, but a 5/5 for European standards, and the food is edible. I might recommend going for the pizzas over the pastas because my suspicion is that those will be a less risky order. Just make sure to ask for the pizza menu!

This is kind of a hidden gem. Not in the best part of town but incredible good Calabrian food. The food is changing every week with fresh ingredients from the market.

Went like 6 years ago, had very good memories. Went again and was not disappointed. Still great southern Italian cuisine for fair prices, very authentic. I hope next time is sooner than in 6 years!

A fun and exquisite evening organised by American Express, welcomed and looked after by an energetic and motivated professional team. Every dish served looked heavenly and the colours were well coordinated from the well selected ingredients making the Champagne pairing a wonderful experience.

This Michelin restaurant has lots of small dishes and many varieties. The servers are very attentive. The only thing is that the space between the seats are a little too crowded and a bit noisy overall. The main dish pork is not strong enough compared to other prior dishes. Overall is still a very good restaurant to visit.

We had an amazing birthday dinner of my best friend together with his lovely wife and one of their sons. Service is the absolute best service I've ever experienced in Zurich, in Switzerland and to be honest: in the world. The chef also came when we were on the way to go, really nice, 37 years old, from Austria. Top restaurant. One of the very best in Switzerland and Europe. Thank you so much for the great experience and that really super outstanding Service!

Michelin star holding restaurant in Zurich. The restaurant with a bar session which serves very special cocktails. We tried the course with all the add ons. Every course comes as a combination of dishes with different layers of flavours. They also served a classic swisss cheese foundue on request. A good try for diners.

Overall a bit disappointed. My honest opinion. I've been to several Michelin restaurants over the world, including Paris, London, San Francisco, other places in Switzerland, Tokyo and Seoul, but it was the first time that made me doubt the Michelin guidance. The atmosphere was good. However, foods were disappointing. Foods were alright overall, but not even close to the Michelin one star. The staffs were really kind, but their knowledge of their serving menus were questionable. When I asked about the ingredients, they answered Umami, after asking the chef, while the Umami means the taste, not the ingredients. The dessert started to melt after 2 minutes it's served and lost its shape. The wine pairing was also disappointing. Honestly, there could be so many 'Gourmet' rated restaurants that can beat IGNIV by taste. All my impression was based on the comparison with other two starred restaurants.

The ambiance itself was perfect—relaxed yet refined, which made for a great dining environment. The drinks were equally impressive, complementing the meal beautifully. We also received a cute Polaroid picture to remember this great evening. We highly recommend IGNIV and are already looking forward to coming back. It was truly a memorable experience!

Food is very tasty and the ambiance is very nice and music is soothing. Clean and fantastic. I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for Sri Lankan Cuisine.

Neela is a Multicultural Welcome Restaurant We recently went to Neela just for a casual lunch. What really stood out about Neela is how they welcome people from different backgrounds. It made us proud to see such inclusivity. To start, we had Chicken Samosas, which were mildly spicy but delicious. What made them special was the homemade Neela sauce. They even shared the recipe with us! Craving Sri Lankan food in Switzerland, for the main course we tried the Sri Lankan Kottu Rotti. It was fantastic and truly authentic, deserving a perfect score of 10/10. My husband ordered Chicken biryani, which was a bit unexpected. It came with flavorful rice (Briyani), along with Sri Lankan veg curries and chicken curry. While it wasn't what we expected, the flavors were still great. We enjoyed the curries with plain rice, savoring their authenticity. Neela's cleanliness and elegant interior design added to the experience. In short, we recommend Neela to anyone who appreciates authentic Sri Lankan cuisine. We plan to visit again and try their King Fish Curry Rice next time.

We went for evening dinner as a group of friends and liked the uncomplicated menu. I opted for the veggie curries with rice and asked for them extra spicy. The food was delicious. The waitresses were very friendly. I would have loved a few more non alcoholic drink options that were not just high sugar or water but it's a minor part. The food and service were excellent!

I tried Bottega Berta after a long time passing casually in front of it. Being Italian, I am always quite wary of trying Italian food in Zurich - most of the times overpriced and way too sophisticated. I am happy to have given this place a go, because it positively surprised me. Firstly, the ambiance is cozy and relaxed, and it’s located in a nice side street without much noise - so you can actually enjoy eating out. Secondly, staff was nice and welcoming - definitely made the difference. A waiter spoke good Italian, which truly made us feel welcome. He was very competent in recommending a good wine to me, and advised us to share different plates due to small portions. I’d say this is probably the only down side; portions aren’t too big - however they are in line with Zurich’s offering and prices are really fair for the area and the research put in creating dishes. It was nice to find the zucchini flowers, something so typical of Italy (first time found them here). They had a nice twist with goat cheese and honey, which reminded me of some typical Canarian appetiser. The panko frying was light and crispy. We then tried some sea trout with kohlrabi, yoghurt and mint sauce, perfectly balanced and fresh. As primo, we took the gnocchi with sepia. They were our favorite dish. Portion size was good, the consistency was perfect and so tasty yet not too salty. Fish was on the smaller side, but had we had bread, we would have scooped out the remaining sauce. As secondo,we took both fish and meat, to have the best of both worlds. I enjoyed my aubergines and meat, although this one was slightly hard. We weren’t asked on our cooking preference for the meat. The fish was good, but the slice was on the smaller side. However, tasty asparagus still made the dish worth a try. And finally, for deserts, the tiramisu was really good, but on the pricy side. Still, it had the amaretto component that I didn’t find in any of the many tried in Zurich. The mascarpone was also very creamy and not watery. As for the sour cream and rhubarb ice cream, the portion was too big (only exception of the evening), and it would have been perfect for two, unlike the tiramisu. The cherry on top was the homemade limoncello, which made us feel valued customers. It’s on the stronger side, but we find it a nice gesture for customers. We definitely recommend this place, and are happy to try new dishes in the future.

Went here for brunch and overall had a decent experience. The food itself was great – really nice flavor combinations and thoughtfully prepared. However, the menu was quite limited, and I found myself wishing there were a few more options to choose from. The wait time was unexpectedly long, especially considering I only ordered a piece of bread with a few toppings. Unfortunately, the egg that was supposed to come with it was forgotten. They did compensate for the mistake, which I appreciated, but it still felt like I missed out on the full experience. It was nice to try, and I can see the potential, but it likely won’t become my regular go-to for brunch.

We found a hidden gem in Zurich. It is a a cozy place with a lot of charm and the food is just out of this world. We have few appetisers and then main...but we have sweet tooth as well so we needed to try desserts too. The gnocchi were amazing and the fiori di zucchini were really tasteful. We will definitely go back.

Maybe I am an uncurable romantic of giving this place 5 stars without being absolutely perfect. But clearly the pasta was great, they gave us a seat last minute without a reservation, lovely atmosphere and great service. Also interesting deep fried chestnuts dessert, even tho' wouldn't order again. Osso bucco was a little too hard for my taste.

Great food, but my goodness is the service slow. We waited 45 minutes before the appetizers and main, and dessert took a while to serve, too. The dishes are extremely small (except the desserts), so the prices can be deceivingly high. The terrace is on the corner of a busy street and a small local street where loud motorcycles frequent, so it's not very tranquil, I'm afraid. The staff inside is quite loud and the space is small, so expect it to be noisy as well. Overall recommended.
