It’s a self service restaurant with stunning views. The cornflake cookie was delicious and they have local beers. The prices are as usual in Switzerland. I can’t judge the rooms as we just went for the day to hike

Stunning location overlooking the lake (see). Whilst we didn't stay at the hotel, we had a great lunch. The staff was very friendly and the food was delicious. We would have loved to stay at the hotel, but I guess they weren't taking in guests in June.

Self-service with culturally aware and friendly staff. The pulled beef sandwich and veggie soup are good. And that view!!

Rustic mountain restaurant at the top of the Allmend cable car. Great views but, other than walking back down along a scenic balcony route to Kandersteg, not much to do. Great homemade cakes and light meals. Cold beer at fair prices.

Stopped here every time I've done the via ferrata. Perfect place to have a beer, a platter, or some hot soup afterwards. Staff are lovely and the view is amazing. Pay with cash or twint.

Had a fruit tart with whipped cream and coffee, came to 9.50 Swiss franks, they don't take cards and I was out of local money, a complete strangers popped up out of nowhere and paid for me. A delightful experience.

The most affordable and friendly place to eat and chill in the area! Frutigwurst is delicious and juicy. The owners are very friendly, even to clueless and obnoxious tourist teenagers :) We loved it there and would have definitely gone back for more if our itinerary permitted.

Fabulous views from the Restaurant and the lady on duty was delighted to learn I was from Western Australia. She had visited Australia on several short term working holidays and we had a long and interesting conversation about her time there. All in all a delightful visit.

Good location and authentic. Access to the spa and sauna at the hotel across the road was key for us. Not many people stayed in our building and the breakfast was a bit lacking.

Cannot speak to the hotel experience as we only stopped in for dinner. In comparison to other restaurants in Kandersteg this one provided the most food and quality. The sausage, onion gravy and rosti were delicious. My wife had the chicken breast and a friend had the steak and said it was excellent as well.

We ate dinner here. It is a lovely space, really interesting building and would be a cool place to stay. However, our dining experience wasn’t the best. Expensive and disappointing fondue (can’t comment on other dishes but definitely not the best fondue we had in Switzerland). Service could have been a lot better (it was busy but felt a bit forgotten about). These things happen sometimes so it probably isn’t the same every time!

It's a lovely romantic hotel, very authentic traditional Swiss style, it really feels like a journey into the past times :) The dinner was totally delicious and rich, the rosé wine was very nice, and we had the best raclette ever! We were happy with this unusual historical hotel, the cozy garden and fine dining experience!

I highly recommend this hotel. As we arrived, we were impressed by the beauty of the hotel, a waterfall flowing from the distance behind the hotel, warm greeting, full chalet experience, vintage items all around the property. There was a lady which was providing service to us, from the arrival to dinner to breakfast, and everythingin between. Unfortunately I forgot her name, but she was amazing. We had a memorable stay and perhaps we will be back.

Excellent restaurant serving traditional local Swiss cuisine which is something not easily found in the more touristy towns in this region of Switzerland. The chicken breast with mushroom sauce and morels was outstanding. You can dine outside by the herb garden and be surrounded by towering mountains. Dining there was a truly wonderful experience.

We walked around at 9 p.m. and most restaurants’ kitchens have already been closed, except Adler. We ordered Berner Rösti and Black Pesto Tagliatelle, and quite enjoyed these dishes. The prices are a bit high but understandable due to the location. Good service also.

Really bad fondue! Having lived in Switzerland for a long time, this is very shocking to see a restaurant couldn’t get fondue right. The texture was wrong and the taste was way too salty. The owner never apologized, found excuses and tried to fix it. We asked to see the chef, who didn’t have time because “he’s too busy”.

SCAMM IT IS NOT A MICHELIN GUIDE RESTAURANT Well, worst fondu I ever tasted. We were 2 people and they forced us to pay 2 fondues because those were the "rules" of the restaurant. It was written fondu for minim 2 people. The waiter didnt know to speak english and could not explain why this was the case. We took also a chesnut soup with was quite spicy and with a lot of pepper on.

Great view but rather poor quality food given the price. Fondue had way too much garlic and salt. The schnitzel was also thicker than usual, and unevenly cooked.

There's an old grumpy grandpa, apparently the owner, who is destroying the whole place. Most rude and hostile person I've met in my life, no respect for guests and neither for his staff. Oh, and a glass of TAPWATER 3.50chf

Restaurant Ritter in Kandersteg truly stands out for its commitment to using fresh, high-quality ingredients every day. The service here was first class. Food was exceptional! Excellent wines too. Thoroughly deserves its rating. Desert was WOW 😍 Highly recommend this venue if you are in Kandersteg - a wonderful evening.

We went to Ritter twice during our trip to Kandersteg and honestly loved it. The team there is super friendly and welcoming. You just feel at home right away. We tried the wine, fondue, some starters, and the steaks… wow, those were absolutely amazing. The place itself feels cozy, warm and festive, and it was the perfect spot to celebrate my wife’s birthday. The little birthday greeting from the staff made her so happy. Can’t recommend this place enough. We’ll definitely be back someday! =)

Great typical Swiss restaurant, quality food and nice atmosphere

RESTAURANT ONLY - We were extremely disappointed with the way we were treated upon arriving at Restaurant Hotel Bernerhof in Kandersteg. Our group of eight arrived to find the restaurant completely empty, yet we were told we’d have to wait while they “prepared a table” which would have been understandable if it had been busy. Instead, the host made a point of telling us that “normally you’d make a reservation,” in a tone that was unnecessarily condescending and dismissive. What made the experience particularly unpleasant was the host’s attitude. He rolled his eyes, spoke to us in a curt, unfriendly manner, and created a very uncomfortable atmosphere right from the start. We felt unwelcome and judged simply for showing up without a reservation, despite the fact that there were no other guests present at the time. We understand that larger groups can sometimes pose a challenge, and we’re always happy to wait or be flexible. What we don’t expect, especially in hospitality, is to be treated with rudeness and disrespect. Sadly, the poor reception set a negative tone so we left and went down the road to hotel Alder and had an amazing and welcoming experience, no reservations and no attitude at all. We were happy to spend our money there instead.

The hospitality is outstanding! The owner, Claudia is so friendly and welcoming. The location is great with only a short walk to the lift up to the famous lake Oeschinensee. The rooms are bright and nice with great views. The food is beyond outstanding. Many options for all dietary needs. The chef is creative and the food really is amazing. This is a great hotel!!!

We stayed at Bernerhof during our trip to Kandersteg and really liked it. Cozy hotel with a warm mountain vibe, comfy room and a great view of the peaks. Breakfast was simple and basic but good quality and enough to start the day. Staff were super friendly and helpful, we felt very welcome. Would definitely stay here again.

Superior. We had a wonderful few days relaxing in Kandersteg. This hotel is a family owned property, recently celebrating 30 years in operation. The property was spotless and decorated with the unique touch of the owners. Everyone on the staff was kind and pleasant, from the owners to the cleaners. We would absolutely stay here again.

I stayed at this family-run hotel for two nights, and despite the inconveniences and troubles I ended up accidentally causing for the staff (it was my first solo trip, and I was a complete mess), Claudia, Gerhard, and their staff were incredibly kind and helpful to the end. The room itself was impeccably clean with an incredible view, the breakfast buffet was rich and filling, and the self-service laundry was a blessing for a weeks-long trip. The hotel’s restaurant was also delicious. If you’re visiting Kandersteg, this hotel is a truly lovely place to stay. (Photos are of the view from my room)

We stayed there 2 nights and was absolutely impressed by the kindness and hospitality of the owners and staffs here. The room is so cute with a view to the flower fields and mountain. We were happen to check out early in the morning and they even prepared for us some take away for breakfast with the water and some fruits as well, which was soooo nice. They taken care of the guests like their family and friends. Definitely recommend!!!

Nice place, good service. The owner owns the room with her presence and shows pride in her restaurant. The vegetarian autumn sides are good, Spätzli unfortunately too cooked.

We were very happy that we chose Nico's for our dinner in Kandersteg. First of all, they were open until late, which cannot be said about any other places in the town. We really appreciated the kind staff, relaxed atmosphere, beautiful view through the window, and good house wine. It's very expensive, as most places in Switzerland, but here at least you have a chance of enjoying the meal as it's quite high quality. As a lovely surprise we received a wonderful soup apetizer with some bread and butter. Our main dishes were fish from Frutigen, which, sadly, was not very flavourful, but the meat dish (schweins-duett) from the 2-dish tasting menu was incredible, so I highly recommend going for that one! House wine was also perfect, the only thing that shocked us was the price for water (8.50) so probably best to stick to wine 😀 P.S. The candle did not come with the dish ;)

Abdolutely delicious food, very fresh and surprisingly fast service! Always a house (free) appetizer, the home-made bread is great as well as the wine. A feast! And if you sit outside, the magnificent view is included. I don't understand how this restaurant doesn't have Michelin stars, unless it's above them! Recommended wholeheartedly.

The atmosphere felt cozy and authentic, and the service was friendly without being rushed. The highlight was definitely the view: stunning Swiss mountains all around, especially beautiful at sunset. A place I’d gladly come back to!

Excellent modern food that pays homage to the local traditions while also providing a refreshing departure from the typical Swiss fare. The soups were honestly some of the best we’ve ever had. Staff was friendly but service was slow. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a more upscale meal (and have some time to spare) - you can do a la carte or build your own tasting menu.

A fine dining restaurant (probably the best in Kandersteg) with a small menu. The dishes were convincing. We were here during the game season and especially the venison stew (Hirsch-Pfeffer) from local game was excellent. The prices are also reasonable. However, the service and ambience do not quite keep up with the cuisine.

Completely unexpected up here on the mountains. Location is wierd, but food is just fabulous. Great level of ingredients that are mostly local and all very well used in great dishes. Really a great surprise.

You can’t beat the location since it’s right across from the cable car station. Only thing is it can get noisy from all the tourists that are making their way to it. It had a lot of beautiful views and a very close walk to everything (food, shops etc)

Part of a group of 60 who had a meal at the restaurant. Given that this was booked in advance and we were all a few minutes late, the service was quite slow. They missed the chips off of our table (14) and instead gave extras to other tables in our group before then realising and giving us 5 portions of chips to split between 14 people. It took 30 minutes for everybody to get their food so the majority were finished before others got food. All the burgers were drowned in sauce and mine only had one small string of cheese. Not impressed given the days advance booking but otherwise the food was good

New ownership stinks bad. Stayed here for tndays. One person to run the front desk, food, drinks, during summer?! Wow just so bad. Took 1.5hrs to just put an order in for food. They put us in a dorm room when they show premium rooms online, misleading. Mosquitos galore outside our door. No hot tub! Empty and filled with slugs. Couldn't find anyone with the key to the gym numerous times. Stay away unless you're desperate.

Hotel & Restaurant Ermitage in Kandersteg was fantastic! Friendly staff helped with parking, the breakfast was excellent, and the modern room was comfortable. Perfect location near the base of Oeschinen Lake to catch the gondola.

The drinks are delicious and well-located. but I felt a bit disappointed here. the clerk served the drinks and made the payment immediately, but grabbed me when I left and told me I hadn't made the payment. he took me to the counter and in the process insulted me in an unknown language to the guests on the terrace. the sitting customer looked at me and laughed at me. when I proved the receipt and payment details, he only said a word "sorry" to me.

I stayed at Waldhotel Doldenhorn for just one night during a business trip, but I was truly impressed. The location is simply stunning — I absolutely love Kandersteg, and this hotel captures its charm perfectly. The property is elegant and welcoming, with a peaceful atmosphere and attentive service. Everything met my expectations of a high-standard hotel. If I had to mention one area for improvement, it would be the breakfast: it didn’t quite match the otherwise excellent level of the hotel. With some attention there, this place would easily be outstanding. I look forward to coming back — next time, for a proper vacation!

Overall good experience but some items not what one would expect of a 4 star facility. 1. Lights in the whole unit controlled by one switch. Why? Very inconvenient. And the switch is located in an obscure place in the bedroom. 2. There is a thermostat in the room but it didn't do anything. Quite hot at night. 3. Breakfast is included but very limited choices (especially for vegetarians). 4. Just coffee in the room. No tea, not hot chocolate. Water tank in the coffee maker empty. 5. No complimentary beverages in the lobby. 6. No business room. 7. Exhaust fan in the bathroom runs permanently. On the plus side, room staff was responsive and quick.

for the price you are paying, not clean enough. i’ve stayed in cheaper hotels with better quality. the service was excellent. shuttle bus runs smoothly, reception always attentive.

Such warm and welcoming atmosphere and staff members, beautiful authentic design, cute afternoon tea party and best hotel breakfast we ever had. Top! Absolutely enjoyed our stay! Their spa facility is also amazing, especially the late closing hours, we really appreciated that.

We expected a bit more from the wellness side. The indoor pool could have been heated in the cold days. The hot tube was so small, you wouldn't wanna sit there and touch the feets with unknown people. The room was big and very cozy. But we missed small accessoires. Overall it was good!

We stayed here in June 2023. The spa, breakfast options, and general layout of the hotel are great. However, I strongly recommend against booking any "economy" option: the bathroom in the otherwise nice room was claustrophobic and would be bad in a two-star hotel. You also get assigned a breakfast "table of shame" that is less comfortable than the others and in the middle of the walkway. This being made to feel like a second-class citizen at 300 usd/chf (while expecting to just book a smaller room without a view, as is normal) really soured our romantic getaway weekend.

Just recently stayed, I was only able to stay for one night but wish I could have stayed longer. We stayed in the dormitory and it was way above average. Very clean, great space, great shower/bathroom area, very nice and good owners/staff. And the breakfast included was very good and fresh. The location in the town was also very convenient only a 12 min walk away from the train station and a 17 min walk away from the entry to the lake. Would definitely stay here again or recommend it to a friend!

Absolutely loved my time in Kandersteg! The room was basic just as expected. Incredibly clean. Friendly staff. Comfortable. Safe. Quiet. Great showers—spacious, individual sinks, towels, hair dryer, and also very clean! Great proximity to shops and restaurants. Would recommend!

I can't comment on the hotel, as we stopped in for dinner. Our group had reservations for 10, and we were promptly seated at the back of the restaurant with other larger groups. Helena, our primary server, was an absolute gem...prompt, funny and helpful with any questions for our group. If you try only one thing on the menu, be sure to have the garlic soup. It's decadent! They also have a unique menu of traditional Swiss dishes, as well as pizza and burgers. The pizza was one of the best I've ever had anywhere! We'll definitely be back again during our trip.

Nice surprise in the middle of a magical landscape. Room furnished in a simple way but with all the necessary comforts, friendly and helpful staff, excellent pizza!

We did not even receive keys to our room, so basically anyone could walk in and out at any time, we are also not located in the main building, so everyone had access to our room. Unsafe and not comfortable to leave your stuff. Although it is a two-star, it did not feel the basics were there. Room for 4 but you could barely stand with two at the same time due to the very small room. Felt like every square meter was used for profit.

Stayed here for 2 nights in the double bed w/ bathroom. We added in breakfast each morning. Unbeatable price. Very clean rooms with an outstanding view. The owners are very nice and the hotel is quiet and off the main road. We also ate dinner (Roesti and Schnitzel) there and it was the best food we had in Kandersteg.

My husband and I were staying at the nearby hotel Ermitage and stopped by at restaurant Rendez-vous for lunch after a hike at Oeschinensee lake. We had the Swiss burger and the pork schnitzel and local beer on draft, and everything was outstanding, including the service. The owner stopped by to check on us and we really enjoyed talking to him. So far during our trip, this was the best example of Swiss hospitality. We would give 10 stars if we could. Honestly very shocked at how high of ratings this restaurant has. My husband and I ordered the fondue and a burger and didn’t finish either dish. The fondue lacked flavor and the burger was a hockey puck. The food came out quick but waitress seemed annoyed we were even present. Do yourself a favor and go down the hill for better food.

To be honest, the food was fairly average, especially considering the price. The service also left something to be desired. I don’t want to blame the waitress — she was working alone and clearly in a hurry — but still, it would have been nice if a bit more attention was given to the guests.

The staff and service was excellent but the burger was really really poor. The toppings were great but the actual beef tasted like it came frozen from the supermarket. For the price and advertised as swiss beef you would expect a great homemade burger, but it was not good. Maybe try something else.

As a familly of 6, we felt very welcomed at this place. Reservation was fast and precise, service was great and the fondue excellent! Looking at other tables, I would suggest to stick to the fondue...The wine was a bit warm but it's okay! We still had a great time thanks to our waiter :) Maybe a bit less umbrellas outside so we can enjoy the stunning view? Thank you for this evening!

The food itself was decent, but the service left a lot to be desired. We ordered a fondue and a chicken schnitzel, but instead of the schnitzel, a cheeseburger arrived. When I pointed it out to the waiter, his response was, “I have cheeseburger written on my paper.” I explained that I don’t eat beef burgers, so I certainly wouldn’t have ordered one. To his credit, he did correct the mistake without too much hassle. Unfortunately, the fondue was served lukewarm, with the cheese not fully melted. When I mentioned it, the waiter claimed, “That’s normal when you eat fondue outside.” As someone who lives in Switzerland and has enjoyed fondue in ski resorts at sub-zero temperatures, I can say confidently that this isn’t true. He did eventually warm it up a bit more, which helped. Lastly, I asked for some ice cubes for my Coke, but they never arrived. At that point, I felt awkward continuing to follow up on things that should have been handled without prompting. Overall, the experience was underwhelming—not because of the food, but due to inattentive and dismissive service.

A cosy and comfortable place to eat, felt very much at home! Service was very friendly - had many laughs with the staff. Two pizzas, both tasted great but expect to wait a little as they aren’t made the fastest - maybe enjoy a drink or two whilst waiting. Overall lovely place :)

Review for the restaurant It's a go the eyes close, staff suuuuper nice, the pizzas are awesome and you kinda make it the way you want . Even with the barrier language it was a really great experience. And I think price affordable for the area. Little plus the homemade ice cream 🤌

This is a review of the restaurant. The service was very slow, waited a full hour for 3 pizzas and spaghetti then one of the pizzas was burnt. The servers were not friendly most of the time. But the other pizzas and spaghetti did taste good. Lots of flies everywhere!!

It’s a small hotel-restaurant, inexpensive rooms that did not disappoint us (the rooms are small but well equipped, perfect for a one-night stop) and a nice restaurant downstairs with pizzas and pastas. It’s a family run-business and the service was very warm and welcoming

Unbelievable: You spend €50 on two pizzas, ask the waiter for the Wi-Fi password to plan your route, and he says NO — it’s only for hotel guests. Sometimes the Swiss reputation is well deserved.

Before I start my review you have to take into account that this hotel is a two star hotel so of course you won't find the luxury of a five star hotel there, you have what you pay for and what you have there is more than enough, we had a nice cozy room with nice beds, a nice bathroom (clean one) and a nice view from the windows. We slept well, no noises or any kind of disturbances, the breakfast was included so we had a nice breakfast with fruits, boiled eggs, hot drinks (tea and coffee), cold drinks (water and orange juice), croissants, breads (different kinds), yogurts, butter, jam, honey, Nutella and cold meat like salami, etc... as I said, a nice breakfast in a very nice Swiss environment :) The staff was very nice, we talked during breakfast with Gabby (she's a staff member and she knows English, French, German, and some words in Serbian too ;)) who's very nice and attentive if we needed something. The hotel is very close to the train station and to the grocery store. Two starts but two golden one!!! We do recommend it! Aleks and Íris

Lovely place for breakfast (delicious bread) or a treat in the afternoon (strawberry tart anyone?). There is a nice lunch menu too though we didn’t try it. Dog-friendly- and lots of space even for big dogs!

Popped in here twice as hotel was opposite. The man working was very polite and helpful with discussing my options around my allergy. The pastries/breads were very tasty and fresh, I sat in with one and the other I took away up a hike. Lots to choose from despite my allergy and everything looked so good! Pretty inexpensive too!

Had a lovely hot chocolate and cake here. Highly recommend the strawberry tart and caramel sponge cake. We'll be going back for lunch!

Quiet and peaceful location to relax. Tables are available inside and out. Outside you are surrounded by beautiful trees and high snow peaked mountains with a gentle breeze. PEACEFUL! Great options for tea, coffee, ice cream, and pastries.

Found this place by accident as I needed to place to shelter rain. The ambience inside was very cozy. Lovely terrace with great view too. Coffee is really good

Visited only as a stop for a coffee and a strudel after a lake walk, but it's a lovely little place. Friendly service, fast too. Expensive, but you expect that, this is freshly-prepared food up a mountain, so of course it's not cheap. Delicious. Beautiful spot.

We stayed one night in September and had a truly wonderful experience at Arva. The hosts and staff are incredibly friendly and genuinely care about your stay and wellbeing — you really feel looked after from the moment you arrive. - Beautiful and authentic rooms full of character. - Delicious local food at the restaurant with included fantastic breakfast. - Extremely dog-friendly, with thoughtful touches like blankets, trays, and snacks for our dog. - Staying overnight gave us the chance to hike early in the morning, enjoying the trails peacefully before the crowds arrived. A perfect mix of comfort, authenticity, and warm hospitality in a stunning location.

What an incredible experience. I felt so lucky to have been able to stay at this spot on our trip… the rooms were clean, bed was so comfy, service was incredible. The staff is beyond helpful, polite and warm. The view. Guys. The view. Wow. Being able to be here at all times of the day was so special. Sunset was epic. The mountain tops hold a pink hue. Excellent food, friendly service and tasty beer. We stopped here after our hike and just beat the rush around 23:45. Meatballs and onion soup were delicious and hearty. The apple strudel was an 11/10.

The review is for the cafe they run in front of the chalet - it's a cosy terrace overlooking the lake, with a good selection of drinks, sweet treats and some more complex dishes too. Coffee was good, and apple strudel was amazing. Service was the best - I can't recall last time I've encountered so attentive, friendly and easy-going service anywhere, let alone in Switzerland.

Absolutely wonderful place by Oeschinen lake.!! It is beautiful, we stopped here for a break after hike to the lake. We had a cold plate to share, which was served with bread. It was delicious and everything on the plate was locally produced in the region. Service was fantastic with people serving you with smile, infectious energy and good mood. Must try if you’re there!!

Absolutely perfect!!! Rooms cozy and comfortable, staff friendly and welcoming, location is perfect overlooking the lake, and the food was outstanding!! A real treat to see the lake without the crowds after the last cable car left for the night.

Hands down the best meal I had this trip to Switzerland. Not sure if it was because I was craving a burger after 3 days of hiking or what but it felt like heaven on earth. The restaurant was so charming and authentic. Most places have English-translated menus, but this spot was packed with locals — we had to use Google Translate to order Sweet potato fries were awesome, they had gf bread options and a variety of teas

This burger has inspired me...wouwww, what a concept Pulled Beef Deep Fried. Delicious !!!! Luckily I didn't go for the schnitzels like my colleague, the thin slice of cheese on the cheese version looked rather puny. but then there are the burgers and the staff are super quick and friendly. Nice to sit outside in the centre.

Love this restaurant. We came here for dinner last night (our first night in Kanderstag) and then I dragged my son back down for lunch today. The food is great! The Nutella waffle was amazing! Bonus is it has a cute cat theme.

Came here for my birthday dinner and arrived too late for the kitchen to still be open. This was okay as we are just used to things being open later in the UK. Came the next evening instead and had a really fantastic meal with similarly fantastic service. The atmosphere was great, with board games to play while waiting for your food (we played connect 4) and the 2 patron cats were wonderful. We are big cat fans and they are pretty popular amongst visitors to the restaurant. I had a beer that was from Bern and also had the Vienna style Schnitzel which was fantastic. My girlfriend is vegetarian and she had plenty of options and really enjoyed her Asian Pan Tofu dish. The Apfelstrudel was a great way to finish dinner as well. A big thank you to everyone at Schweizerhof for making my birthday evening really spectacular, even if it was the next day 🎉

Skip the crowds near the berghotel oeschinensee. Go to the sennhutte. We were treated with great hospitality both in the morning after we got there for a coffee, beer and water after our hike from kandersteg, as well as on our way back for lunch. When entering the restaurant with the intention to order, in the knowledge these type of mountain huts at touristic places often don't offer table 'service', I was immediately shouted at that I had to be patient, without us making any request to anyone. The command to be patient was immediately repeated in a military way to our whole family waiting patiently outside for someone to come by. On top of this extremely arrogant and unfriendly behavior of the waitress, and on top of the terrible prices, the attached image of the bathroom's door greatly describes the 'friendly and hospitable' character of the restaurant and staff (despite being only reachable for customers with a key received from the staff on specific request, which I can well understand in this touristic place where the owners chose to practice themselves) . Anticipating the reply of the owners below, we wanted to share this information to warn potential future customers that there are way better options very close at the lakeside where visitors are treated in a human way. It's a fun, family affair where you feel like you're at a family gathering more than eating out at a restaurant. It's the lively conversations, light-hearted humor, and warm interest in their guests. It's that taste of home-cooking presented with pride. It's an experience more than a meal. We stopped by for lunch... but ended up with a celebration. It was my birthday, and our sweet server (I believe her name is something like Natia, but I apologize since I've probably butchered the name!) made me feel like a king. Small touches... a plate of chocolates... a shot of superb schnapps... made our visit so very special. And the food... just so excellent!!! The view from the Panorama Restaurant zur Eennhütte is absolutely incredible. Even if you don't want to eat there, get something to drink and enjoy the panorama in front of you. I highly highly recommend it if you are there.

Customer Service is bad, I came alone, as a tourist, so they treated me like below their social class. Keep in mind they only accept cash because there is no Internet, thats okay. I didnt like the fact that i gave 7CH for a 6.5CH item and intentionally she gave 0.10CH change like as a tourist i wouldnt notice, complete scam. The view is great tho. Still, dont recommend.

Don't miss the spectacular views of Oeschinensee Lake. They have some great home made Lagerwurst. I would highly recommend eating outdoors here and taking in the wonderful views that this place has to offer.

During my visit to Leukerbad, I had the pleasure of dining at Restaurant La Terrasse, and it was an overall great experience! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, creating the perfect setting to unwind after a day in the mountains. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure that every guest felt welcome and well taken care of. Their service was top-notch and really enhanced the dining experience. As for the food, I ordered the cheeseburger, which had a unique taste-definitely something different, in a good way. It was well-prepared and flavorful, but to be honest, I had higher expectations given the price. The portion was also a bit on the smaller side, so I was glad I had ordered a Vorspeise beforehand

Restaurant is not the core business, nor something done with the spirit of providing a pleasurable experience. Tried the place twice to be sure. Inconsistent level of meat quality, very small portions for an inflated price, major ventilation issue in the restaurant (ended completely smoking the place with one hot-stone meat dish), place not so clean, kitchen invisible in the basement and one-man service worth of a cafe, not a high-priced restaurant. Tired and complacent ownership, better close the shop and go do something else.

Amazing experience. The food was fantastic, we had the meat on silver lingot for two, it was so tender and the mushroom sauce was absolutely delicious. A LOT of meat, I could barely finish my part. The soup of the day was also really good, and the fondant au chocolat were literally incredible, small but sooo good!! ❤️ The lady was super attentive, the atmosphere was really pleasant and romantic, and they were really patient with us even if we were the very last customers. We loved this place, the food and the service, we'll be sure to come back for dinner next time we are in Leukerbad!!

This was a spontaneous 1 night stay as we decided to stop there on our way back from Wallis to the Zürich area and I hope to stay there again! The staff was friendly and welcoming, the house is beautiful, and the rooms are spacious and have a great view. Overall it was a quiet and comfortable stay. We were even allowed to keep our car in the parking area after check-out while we were hiking up to the lake. Check-In is from 2pm to 10pm. Breakfast was great too and they offer lunch bags for 4CHF. Not sure whether reservation for dinner is needed.

We are with Eurotrek. We stayed in blümlisalp hotel. We arrived and the hotel keys on the table and no one checking us in. Turned the tv on and only English Channel was bbc and aljazeeraa. We went down to breakfast I packed two towels with cheese and manager came and in front of everyone she start to yell how we can take any food we have to eat there. We had no problem paying for lunch but her manner was downright combative. I will pass this on also Eurotrek. They keep saying in Swiss we don’t appreciate this behavior.

Lovely hotel, great value and close to Oeschinesee cable lift, we stayed for 2nights and we truly luv this hotel for its Prime location, spacious room compared to other hotels nearby, comfortable beds, Free parking space for guests, self service laundry available and breakfast so delicious. Also the owner is super nice and quite accommodating, so I’m not sure about some comment here of being watched, I feel the lady owner is very helpful and hospitable. Even at breakfast their kitchen staff were quite attentive, even provided me a smiley latte macchiato which was a nice touch to get my day started. If we come back to Kandersteg, this hotel will be our first choice. Highly recommend!
