Palombaggia

Beach
Outdoor Activities
Palombaggia is a stunning beach located in the southeast of Corsica, known for its clear waters and white sand. The area offers various water activities such as diving, jet skiing, and sailing sports. It serves as an ideal starting point for excursions and cruises to nearby beaches like Cerbicales Islands and Bay of Santa Giula.
This beach is pretty hyped up around here, but to be honest, it didn't really blow us away. You'll definitely find at least four bars and restaurants nearby, so there's no shortage of places to grab a bite or a drink. The beach itself varies in width along its stretch, so whether you're looking for a cozy spot or a wider area to lay out a bit further from the water, you’ve got options. If you're just in the mood for a quick beer, a drink, or maybe some ice cream for the kids, I'd really recommend hitting up the smaller stands tucked away near the trees close to the big hotels or standalone restaurants. Prices there are seriously like half of what you’d pay at the bigger spots.

Beautiful clean water, with some parts more crowded than others. Parking for free is tricky, better either choose a beachclub if you plan to eat anyways (parking fees will be deducted), or there are large cheap parkings at the north eastern end.
Miklos N — Google review
A must see in the south of Corsica. When we went it was raining but the sea water was still warm. Easy access, cheap parking and lovely bar on the beach. Overall a great beach.
Ines R — Google review
Best plage 🏝️👌 If you come to the south of Corsica, be sure to go to this beach
Luka L — Google review
Great beach, turquoise water and it was not crowded but parking is ridiculously expensive, 35 eur for 5 hours on the beach or in best case 11.20 eur for 4 hours. And then you have to walk 600 meters downhill and coming back to the car is a real training. There is one bar and one restaurant with prices for Space tourism
Balkan R — Google review
I went there very much at the end of the season. No problem parking plenty of place on the beach. Temperature was perfect for me. Could still get a drink. I appreciate others may have different experiences if they go in July or August but has to be one of the most stunning beaches in France.
James B — Google review
Amazing place with great food, drinks, music and breathtaking water
Ben — Google review
Wonderful sand beach with convenient parking. Came at around 11 in the morning and it was not a problem to park car in the shade of pine trees. And parking is free! Beach itself goes alongside, walk further and it will not be crowded at all. Crystal clear and shallow water, stones to make insta pics, bars everything is there! The best beach for us visited in Corsica! Recommended!!!

Escalier du Roy d'Aragon

Points of Interest & Landmarks
The Escalier du Roy d'Aragon is a steep and narrow rock staircase that leads down to the sea, providing unique views of the water and boats. It consists of 187 steps and dates back to medieval times, leading to a freshwater well. Nearby, visitors can explore the Cimetiere des Marins, a walled cemetery with elaborately decorated tombs.
We visited in the end of August. It wasn't too crowded and the views are great. 5€ per person was worth it in my opinion.
Urška R — Google review
When you visit Bonifacio, it's worth to take the tour of the stairs. Nice to see, but not spectacular. It's a steep descent, followed of course by an equally steep ascent. Good workout!
Jasper V — Google review
Classic Christine 5/5 A workout, paired with history, and amazing views sign me up 😗 Added bonus, a cute helmet accessory. These 189 steps were built in the 1400s so Corsicans could escape if any funny business arose back then because frankly that’s all there was to do, was try to conquer your neighbors island so why not build 189 staircase insurance policy. If my screen time were 0 hours I would do the same. My only advice, go as early as possible to avoid people panting behind you to go faster. Like hello, what happened to living in the moment as we role play fleeing the island? Anyway, it’s amazing and only €5, plus a great way to justify a Spritz afterwards. Don’t wear a fishnet shirt like I did, I was schvitzing although I did look cutesy (see attached photos) so maybe it was worth it… Follow Classic Christine for more tips ;)
Classic C — Google review
Very steep 189 steps dug by hand into the cliff face. We went in August. It was very crowded and very hot. We saw a few people really struggling so take care , go early on the morning
Christine E — Google review
A good workout. the panoramic views are the best. You need to be in shape since they are tough
Natalia U — Google review
Cool thing to do- slightly touristic but still worth it! Amazing views.
Beth C — Google review
20 min walk in total and the views are worth it. Do it close to sunset time. The colors as magical.

Beach Rondinara

Mentioned on

Beach
Outdoor Activities
Beach Rondinara is a picturesque destination that attracts visitors with its opportunities for swimming, sunbathing, picnicking, and dining at a waterfront restaurant. It is considered one of the most beautiful beaches on the island of Corsica, known for its clam shell-shaped bay flanked by rocky promontories. The beach offers calm and clear turquoise waters ideal for various activities.
Amazing beach, especially in April when it was practically empty. Really good for swimming and my family enjoyed looking at the fish and other wildlife in the pond area behind the beach. The spring flowers were also lovely!
Sally F — Google review
In general, the beach is just a short distance from Porto Vecchio – about a 30-minute drive from the town center. Parking during the high season, or even shortly after, can be more difficult. We parked around 10 AM without any issues (early September). There are only a few sunbeds available for rent, so we definitely recommend bringing your own umbrella. There's also a bar and a restaurant, and for those interested, there's a volleyball court as well. We enjoyed our time here and we recommend this place 😊
Richard R — Google review
Amazing places, you might also bump into cows and bulls. We stayed there one day more just to enjoy the beach more! Highly recommended
Martina F — Google review
The most beautiful beach here around with an excellent parking price and location. Just be careful for cows around the pine trees :)
Anja P — Google review
Long round beach. Parking is reasonable (£6 per day) and well organised. Walk past the first rocks to avoid the crowded portion. Clear clean water. Restraunts can be busy - queue they open
Adrian W — Google review
The parking lot costs 6€ a day, and its totally worth it: the beach amazing and family friendly. On the day of the video there were way too much algs, hence the greenish water color. Still, great to swimming, dive and enjoy.
Felipe — Google review
Beautiful beach, our personal favourite in Corsica. Great for snorkelling and swimming.
Rob D — Google review
Gorgeous sandy beach with clear blue water. Great for swimming and a bit of snorkeling. Parking near by, currently 6 euros for the day with plenty of spaces. Gets really busy in the summer, less so off season. Has a decent place to eat next to it.

Plage du petit Sperone

Mentioned on
1 list
Beach
Outdoor Activities
Nestled between rocky walls, Plage du petit Sperone is a smaller but popular beach with extra fine sand and crystal-clear waters. To reach this famous beach, visitors can take a short walk from the free parking area near the renowned 18-hole Sperone golf course. The area offers stunning natural beauty and ample opportunities for water activities such as snorkeling and boating.
This beautiful little beach is reached by passing through the larger, smelly Piantarella beach. To get there, we had to scramble over some rocks, where the width of the path changes depending on the water level, which can be a bit tricky but shouldn’t be too much of a problem. Once you arrive, the view is really great, although the limited space can make it feel a bit crowded. On this beach, there’s a wooden fence where you can hang your things. From here, you can also take some steps up and walk along the golf course to reach Grand Sperone Beach, which, in our opinion, is an even better version of this smaller one, though it’s a bit further to get to. You might want to check out the reviews for that beach too. But honestly, I highly recommend spending time here as well—the place looks amazing. Despite questioning whether it was worth it on the way over, it turned out to be totally worth it, and we had a fantastic time.
Karol K — Google review
it's okay, but not amazing, the beach and water is clear but it's small so you need to arrive early. You also need to walk 10 mins or so from the carpark along the first beach and the only cafe is by the carpark Also Google.maps hasn't been updated here
Lisa D — Google review
Absolutely stunning best beach ever wow waters very turquoise sand completely divine a little bit of rocks and trees blocking some paths but apart from that completely perfect beach 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩I would rate it higher if I could Review from Cameron Age 9 but also every one else loves it too (mum/dad). :) :)🥰😍
Elaine M — Google review
Clean and family friendly small beach. Refreshing, quite and relaxing with a view to Sardinia's northeast islands. Simply amazing!
Felipe — Google review
Beautiful beach near Bonifacio. The way there, however, requires rather sturdy shoes, or long clothes, because you either have to climb over some rocks, or walk through very narrow bushes. But you will be rewarded in any case and can either take this beautiful beach or walk another 10 minutes and go to Grande Sperone, which is also very beautiful.
Didi K — Google review
Amazing secret beach! Great walk there across the rocks! Amazing weather even on 31st October
Lloyd H — Google review
Good sandy beach close with amazing water. Is surrounded by some cliffs so is really green too. However the way here is not easy, you need to park first, then walk good 20 minutes,we came from the beach of piantarella. On the way you will find a roman villa, that you can see but no indication or history whatsoever (a shame). It gets a bit too crowded too easy so we left after a couple of hours.
Javier U — Google review
Lovely beach with white sand! Google maps directions are wrong! Go to the end of Rte de Piantarella, then walk down the Piantarella beach and climb over the rocks, then 5 min walk and you are at the beach.

Plage de Balistra

Mentioned on

Beach
Outdoor Activities
Plage de Balistra is a picturesque beach that boasts stunning rock cliffs and hills, with crystal clear waters ideal for kite-surfing. Although the beach can be challenging to access by car, visitors will be rewarded with breathtaking colors and clean sea. The area is also perfect for camping and offers a peaceful atmosphere away from noisy crowds. However, visitors should avoid the overpriced bar on the beach which has poor quality food and unfriendly staff.
Beautiful peacful beach at the end of a long dirt track. Plenty of free parking. I don't know why but the sea seemed a bit warmer here compared to other Corsica beaches (maybe because it was so calm). Super clear water.
James R — Google review
Beautiful beach with little to no algae and very nice sand, the water was one of the bluest I've ever seen. The beach is pretty windy so beware stinging sand particles. The road is very rugged, zig zaggy and up and down, so beware small cars and weak tires.
Gabriel G — Google review
Beautiful beach clear water, the good think is that people are not on top of each other. There is also a restaurant. The access is a bit rocky but worthy going
Natacha S — Google review
Most beautiful and peaceful beach in the area with plenty of parking (free). It os at the end of a 10 min dirt road but ok to reach.
Mahbod B — Google review
Great beach. Not easy to reach, street is partly in very bad condition. We did not liked the beach bar, quite simple but quite high food prices, no toilets for guests.
Stella V — Google review
Very beautiful beach with crystal clear water. No shade. Very windy. Almost no people at the end of june. The road isn't paved, but it's good enough.
Elena M — Google review
Very nice beach without the masses. Little bit more difficult to get to.
Björn W — Google review
Stunning beach with free parking right there and not crowded even in end July. 10/10 recommend to go there. You can also take your dog. There is some food, water sport school and toilet as well. Street to go there is not paved and a bit bumpy but if you drive slow any car should be able to make it.

Bastion de l'Etendard is a section of the fortress in Corsica where visitors can explore underground fortifications and immerse themselves in the city's history. The Bastion de l'Etendard Museum provides a deeper understanding of the architecture and remarkable features. The climb to the citadel offers stunning views of the town and the Mediterranean, making it a must-visit spot in Corsica. It's recommended to visit during sunset for an even more breathtaking experience.
Wonderful place to visit in Bonifacio not just for its historical significance but also for the wonderful views from it.
Nigel M — Google review
Impressive views you can see from most places around Bonifacio but interesting to learn about the history, a few things for the kids to interact with to keep them interested. Rude girl eating her lunch on reception particularly unhelpful.
WILLIAM B — Google review
ww bought combined ticket for bastion and aragon staircase. The bastion is not really worth it, nothing interesting to see, only the view from the top. But the view is available also from outside the bastion.
Ana-Maria P — Google review
Best view to whole Bonifacio from the other side! (uphill)

The Fanale di Pertusatu is a 19th-century lighthouse situated on top of Mt. Pertusato that boasts breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea. Although visitors are not allowed inside, they can take a scenic walk around it and revel in its beauty. The lighthouse is easily accessible by foot from nearby Bonifacio or a parking area just minutes away.
Worth walking to the lighthouse. We were lucky as there was some wind, but do get some water with you. From there you can enjoy amazing view and also ether is a "secret" beach under it.
Sevie S — Google review
Great place to visit and fun hike down to the beach. It’s doable on flipflops. Bring something to drink and eat.

Beautiful old lighthouse. It is not possible to go inside, but you can walk around and enjoy the beautiful views. It is possible to go there from Bonifacio - 4 km walk or from nearby parking place - minutes walk.

Plage du Grand Sperone

Mentioned on
1 list
Plage du Grand Sperone is a stunning beach located near Bonifacio, accessible via a picturesque coastal path from Piantarellas. After a brief walk from Petit Sperone, visitors will discover this expansive stretch of sugar-white sand nestled between leafy cliffs and overlooking the Lavezzi Islands. The beach offers crystal-clear turquoise waters and is relatively less crowded in the early morning hours, making it an ideal spot for a peaceful retreat.
This is the most beautiful beach on this coastline, and even though it takes about half an hour to reach it, first by walking through the smelly Piantarella beach and then through narrow paths between bushes alongside a nearby golf course, it’s totally worth it. My advice: don’t bring too much stuff because some of those bushy paths are really narrow, making it less convenient to carry a lot. If you’ve already made it up the steps from the smaller Petit Sperone beach and continued all the way here, you’ll definitely appreciate it. There were far fewer people, and the beach is larger, wider, and absolutely stunning. After emerging from the bushes, you’ll need to walk a bit along narrow roads where electric golf carts zip by pretty fast, so keep an eye out—especially if you’re with kids, as it can be a bit dangerous. But once you make it and walk down those wide, steep steps to the beach, you’ll be totally satisfied. The place looks incredible—the sand and water are just perfect. See for yourself, it’s amazing!
Karol K — Google review
A beautiful beach and one of the more memorable places on our visit to Corsica. Definitely worth the hike to get there!
John H — Google review
Simply spectacular. We arrived at Pianterella at 8am on a weekday, mid June. Got to Grand Sperone at around 8:45am. Just us and 2 others there. Gradually more busy as the day goes on, but nothing crazy. A little slice of paradise for your holiday. If staying in Bonifacio, it’s worth the effort of climbing over the rocks and seaweed. The walk is super easy from Petite Sperone!
Alex W — Google review
Top favorite beach, if you can find it! The beach is not accesible by car, and is more accesible for those staying in the villas near the golf course. We were not staying in the villas and it was over a mile walking through forest and untamed bushes to arrive at an absolutely stunning beach. I like that it had both clear waters and to the right an area for snorkeling and seeing fish.
Alison C — Google review
Lovely. Not crowded (last week of August). Incredibly clean. 20/25 min walk from the parking but it’s worth it
Guglielmo M — Google review
Beautiful beach, clear water and not overcrowded in early April. This is the type of beach the locals go. Don't make the mistake I did, make sure you take plenty of sunscreen and apply it frequently!
Kenny W — Google review
Amazing beach, not too big but gorgeous sand and clean fine water. But, get there really early (8?) so you can leave when the hordes of people come…. till around 10 you’re fine….
H V — Google review
This beach is just wow. I love it! So worth maybe 3 km of walking. Maybe less but it felt like 10km lol Water is just a bit cold when you get in, but it is warmer afterwards. Though it is colder than in other beaches like Santa Giulia, or Tamaricciu, or Plage de Canneto. But it is crystal clear. There is no internet here, you will most probably be in roaming with Italy. But i LOVE this beach! Perfect size, perfect color, there was perfect amount of people (at least when we got here around 12pm on july 12th). The road: maybe there are better ways to get to here, but i read so many comments and i decided to follow advice and walk from Piantarella beach. First we had to park on the side of the road, but we managed to do that at least 1 km from Piantarella. There was insane amount of cars. Then we walked that kilometer until we got to some rocks in the sea. Then you have to climb those rocks and you will get to Piantarella. Piantarella is simply awful beach, you can try swimming until you get to that famous path that leads to the island, but we didn’t try. Later on, around 4pm, there was just too many people walking on that sea path. Then you just follow the road, and you will come to Petit Sperone very fast. The beach is beautiful but small and crowded. Then you continue - you have to climb on some rocky path, looks a bit tricky but it is ok. By now we were walking at least 2km on the sun with zero shade. But from this rocky path there will be straight path and it will be through the woods and shade so it will be much better. At least 1km or maybe 800 meters and you will get to Grand Sperone. If you try getting to Grand Sperone in this way, you will walk too much but you will see 3 beaches. I think it is worth it, but it IS very hard.

Wonderful and elegant hotel to stay in or enjoy a drink on the port. A great alternative to the busy and touristy port side across the water. The staff is welcoming and very helpful. The coffee and drinks were delicious. Our room was huge and designed in a thoughtful, modern way with all the in room amenities you could need. Staff was always around and ready to help with anything we needed!

It's my last time going there . The staff was ok. There were 2 dining tables including ours . We pretty much all arrived at the same time . The first table of 4 people got served first and they were about to finish their dessert and coffee while we were still waiting for our food . We need to beg to have bread while waiting for your meals... The kids were starving. 2 other groups of people including staff friends got after us and got served before us of course ! The singer kept singing loudly impossible to have a conversation among each other. What a terrible experience! And it was extremely pricy for the quality of the food and the service . Avoid this place !
Bella M — Google review
I rarely leave negative reviews however the waiter did ask us to leave a review prior to us leaving the restaurant. When we arrived the waiters seemed friendly and attentive. We promptly ordered drinks and food. This is where things took a turn - It took over an hour for them to bring our starters (cheese plate and 1 serving of their tuna tartar) In the time that we sat and ordered till the time we got our food, another table, which arrived 20 minutes after we did, had already finished their starters. During this time not one person came to check on us. Throughout the dining experience we mostly sat with empty glasses and an empty table. We were there for over 2 hours and not once did anyone ask us if we needed another drink. The mediocre food and the below average service is not worth the price or the amount of time you will waste while waiting. I recommend Da Passano if you’re looking for a great dining experience with unique and inspiring food.

(Translated by Google) The restaurant is located on the opposite side of the harbor, making for a quiet location—far from the tourist crowds. The tables aren't crowded, and the ambiance is very pleasant and inviting. The service was attentive and very professional. About the food: The starter, pasta with fruit from the sea, was flavored with Thai basil—a bit unusual, but very tasty. For my main course, I had grilled calamari and a fish fillet with potatoes. Both were very good, although the fish was a bit overcooked—which can easily happen with fish. The dessert, a fruit pavlova, was a bit disappointing for me, as it was more like meringues with lots of cream and fruit, rather than a classic pavlova. Overall, however, the food was very good and the atmosphere extremely pleasant. I will definitely go again.

Amazing private lunch for our tour group. The menu was outstanding and the quality of food sensational. It was worth every euro and we would definitely come back.

Lovely family restaurant with superb food and wine . Very authentic and delicious, will definitely return. We had a few appetizers and the trio main stood out for its flavors.

We had two meals there when we were in Corsica. The first one was amazing and the second one we had the worst service I’ve had in a long time. Our second bottle of wine never came, the waitress picked a fish for us. That was twice what we needed so the price was enormous, and we were basically ignored when we when we needed water or anything additional

The lamb was top notch and so was the dessert. I loved that they served it drinks with glass, reusable straws. It was a relaxed service and the walk back to our hotel was just the right length to let our meal settle.

Charming is how to describe this place. Bonifacio is a stunning location, but quite frankly very touristy and I was quite disappointed with the town itself. This place is smack in the middle of the tourist area and couldn’t be more of a contrast. Very welcoming staff excellent wine by the glass, you’re not going to see MasterChef type cooking here but typical Corsican food. Good fish soup, and pastas.

Don’t be misled by other reviews talking about amazing food here — in my opinion, the food is just average and definitely not worth the prices you pay. You can have better dishes at an average restaurant and pay less. Portions are small, the dishes are mediocre, and some of the waiters are very rude. So adjust your expectations accordingly.

Amazing place. Run by the same family for the last 60 years. 4 generations. Food was very good. Staff very helpful. Wine selection was good. Also loved the rustic old dated decoration. At same time clutery and plates and space on the table are what you would expect in a Michelin. And very comforting to see Le Bron James coming to the same restaurant as we were leaving it. Would go back for sure.

The restaurant is known for its authentic cuisine, generous portions, and friendly service. Visitors can enjoy affordable pizzas as well as seafood, lamb dishes, and gluten-free options like chestnut cake. The atmosphere exudes medieval village charm, making it a must-visit for those seeking an authentic dining experience.
We shared the salade au Chevre Chaud and the figatellu pizza. Both were fresh and delicious. I loved the pichet of wine, this is becoming increasingly rare in French restaurants and it was good wine at a great value. Service was quick and friendly as well.

The receptionist of our hotel recommended this place and the lamb was amazing! It has various rooms and we got placed in the room with a view on the cliffs. It was very nice and cozy 😄

This is 5/5 Classic Christine ✨ If you enjoy life changing food, paired with a cracking view of the Med (which typically don’t go hand in hand) then this is your place. We were ready, no drooling, for food with more diversity than Sardinia (aka a pizza hiatus), so we were excited when we stumbled upon this absolute gem. Arrive before 11 to get a table on the water, and add in a little charm to ask for the tiny dining room. This is best for a bottle of white wine and a long lunch. I ordered the Sea Bream, my (new) husband ordered the steak…find someone who looks at you the way JD looks at said steak 🥩 😍. I know what you’re thinking, that’s a heavy lunch. Just trust the process and your life will be changed by this divine food. Why long lunch and not dinner? The view is impeccable for lunch, as the sun pours in. We started with the burrata, peach salad which was the type of starter that you take a bite and close your eyes because it’s DELISH. We capped off with an espresso and a big grazie millle to our wonderful server who gently guided our choices for this delicious meal. One of the best we had in Corsica and relatively inexpensive, what could be better 🤌🏼👏🏼 Follow me on Classic Christine for more 5/5s baby!

100% AMAZING DO NOT MISS!! If authentic food and atmosphere is what you love about mid evil villages, then this place is a must. We had lamb and prawns and the goat cheese salad and all 3 were to die for. Quite possibly the best meal I’ve ever had and that’s saying a lot because I’m a well travelled foodie for sure! The atmosphere is authentic and quaint making the place seem small and personalized. We loved the entire experience enough to return the following day for lunch. Prices and reasonable For the value and generous portion size.

We got a table on the small balcony with scenic view on the ocean. Not much space to sit but the food and service was very good. Prices were really decent, we paid 50€ for 2x mussels, 2x drinks, 2x coffee ans they serve free water.

Had a dinner for 4 there in a beautiful small dining room with an open window out to sea. Our server was probably the rudest waiter I have ever encountered. Right from the start during the ordering process he was rude and angry. Was also rude to the other tables around us. Had to beg my fellow diners to stay and not walk out. Food was mixed, mussel over cooked but pasta was tasty.

Da Passano in Bonifacio Corsica. Located in the heart of Bonifacio's marina, this Michelin listed restaurant and wine bar offers traditional Corsican fare with a modern twist. The food is served in Tapas style small plates. However, not every culinary idea works. And the menu is only in French!

Great food, particularly the cote de veau, l’oeuf cocote with truffles were both amazing. Location is fun for people watching right on the port, service is excellent. Highly recommended.

Tapas selection refreshingly different, we really enjoyed the eggplant dish in particular. Service was very quick and the waiter friendly and helpful, he’s a credit to the restaurant. A very interesting location, but too noisy. The pedestrian traffic somewhat disturbs the beautiful view. The food was very good, but we weren't happy with the pasta, which was left with a sauce that was too thin and not very salty. Otherwise, not bad.
Nick C — Google review
Complicated menu, in addition to that they didn’t have any English menus. Surprising, in a place with so many international visitors! Food was very good, as well as service. However 1 toilet (men’s and lady’s) for a restaurant with 200 seats is just not acceptable!! Sorry!! To stay in a toilet queue at such a fine place is just uncomfortable and disappointing.

Good restaurant at the harbor in Bonifacio, the particularity of it is that you choose a few dishes (4 to 5 for two people) to share, and these are the served not all together but one after the other with a small pause so that they do not get cold (or hot depending on your choice). Really good wine selection, the house wine is pretty good. Kind staff.

Located near the Citadel of Bonifacio, Restaurant L'An Faim offers a warm and delightful dining experience. The staff is friendly and provides efficient service. The restaurant takes pride in using locally-sourced, quality ingredients for its modern cuisine menu that includes veal, fresh fish, lobster, and prime vegetables. While slightly pricey, the open wines complement the delicious food perfectly. Despite not having vegetarian options on the menu, the kitchen is flexible and can accommodate special requests.
The foie gras was the most amazing thing i have ever tasted. We ordered it two times. The octopus with olive oil was like nothing i have ever tasted before. Edgar H — Google review
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, and the live music drifting over from next door made it even better. The owner personally checked on us and gave us recommendations for what to do after. We speak only basic French, so we hadn’t expected much local interaction in Corsica, but her warmth changed that assumption. It was the first moment on the island that truly made us feel welcome. What impressed us later, when we read other diners’ feedback online, was how she handles criticism, no defensive back and forth. That’s rare on the island and speaks volumes about her professionalism.
I — Google review
I am a little confused. When I read the other reviews, the food sounds and looks amazing. Unfortunately, our experience was not so amazing. The staff were friendly, the restaurant clean and the setting was elegant, we did have to wait for a while for our food to arrive. But somehow the food just wasn't right somehow. We ordered the octopus pasta salad as a starter and then the catch of the day of red snapper and grouper plus the prawn and squid ink pasta for our mains. The octopus starter had a flavouring which over powered the octopus somehow, I am not sure what it was but I normally love octopus and I didn't enjoy the taste. The pasta element of the salad was very bland. For the mains, the prawns were a little dry and again the pasta which accompanied it was bland which was such a shame. Finally the local catch of the day was fileted badly so we were left with having to spend a long time picking out all the bones, the presentation was also messy and the side vegetable portions were so small they seemed more like a garnish. The fish tasted really bitter and unpleasant like chemicals had been added. I don't know why because it was fresh. My thoughts are that when they showed us the raw fish they were allocating to us, they held it using some sort of wet cloth which I think may have been those lemon hand sanitizer cloths they hand out to customers who may need to use their hands whilst eating. I think that possibly that was the flavour transferred to the fish skin and then grilled. Anyway, despite very high hopes, we unfortunately left the restaurant hungry and disappointed because the portions were not filling and the price was high for what you get so despite aiming to stay for dessert we felt it better to cut our losses and just pay the bill after our mains.
M R — Google review
We got this restaurant recommended by our hotel and also saw good ratings on google maps and a listing in guide Michelin. So we thought let’s give it a try to taste local cuisine. Let’s start with the dessert: the mille feuille was great. The Patissier knows his business. One of the main courses was not: The veal was laced with fat (the group from the next table mentioned the same issue). The polenta had a special taste and consistency (maybe it was made the Corsican way from chestnut flour instead of corn). The added gamba was nice. The second dish - lamb covered in a baked (or fried?) ‚roll’ with sweet potato purée was just not our taste. The starters: Grouper carpaccio looked nice but slices were too thick and chewy (our expectation would be for it to be super thin and buttery soft - maybe the wrong type of fish to be used for a carpaccio). Second starter: salad filled with some fried (fish?), aged hard cheese, egg, sauce was tasty. The recommended local red wine by the glass as well as the champagne by the glass was nothing out of the ordinary to be mentioned. Service was fast, friendly and helpful (even in English) Overall: we got fed, food looked appealing, ingredients are fresh, no artificial flavoring, cooking skills were clearly noticeable, the taste was personally not ours, the quality of the meat (although fresh) did not come up to our expectations. So it’ll rather be an adieu and not an au revoir. Price for one big bottle of water, 2 glasses of champagne, 2 glasses of red wine, two starters, two main dishes (meat), one dessert, two tea, two complimentary limoncello - 165 Euro.

Absolute favourite in Bonifacio!!! Very delicious food!!! The veal course - a new dish and the ‘cheesecake’ dessert was divine!!! Very helpful & kind owners/staff!! (Would go back tomorrow but they are closed on Sundays) Don’t miss if you’re in Bonifacio!!!

The stuffed squid with risotto was really tasty! The aubergine for starter was also good but a bit pricey for what you get. The vibe is nice and I’d go back there to try to lunch menu which had options that I really wanted to try and weren’t available in the dinner menu.

The restaurant offers an idyllic setting with clear waters and perfect sand, making it a family-friendly destination. We visited the G Beach Sunset restaurant at Tonnara beach near on a number of occasions during our stay at a local villa at Santa Trinita. We loved the use of the sunbeds for which we received a discount because we ate in the restaurant every day we visited the beach. The food was always very good from the simple menu and staff were helpful and friendly. Prices compared favourably with other offerings locally.

Great spot for a meal and some time on the beach with parking and a selection of beach loungers and umbrellas (charged extra but reasonably priced). As a small family, we had a lovely morning on the loungers with cold drinks and a nice lunch here. The restaurant was accommodating and we had mussels and beef which were good. The drinks were also delicious and we found the service to be very good. We will definitely come back!

Fabulous sunset spot. Go for a cocktail but skip the meal. Unfortunately the food is a C-. Under or over cooked seafood. Powdered Parmesan cheese. Soggy fries. Dry mussels. Ordered dessert and it never came but waitress had time for a cigarette break. Could be a packed spot with so much potential but sub par food scares away clientele. Huge space and barely anyone here.

Beautiful restaurant on a gorgeous and unique family-friendly beach (shallow enough, no waves, clear water, no boats, perfect sand). Staff were accommodating and nice. Rent beach loungers and umbrellas for about 25 euros if you eat there too. Free Parking is plentiful if you get there early (we arrived at 10am). Food was classic, simple, and good. We had mussels and beef - both served with fries and bread. We hope to come back! Merci Beaucoup!

Olga — Google review
I've visited Le Goeland several times over the years, and it’s consistently been a lovely experience. Set directly on La Tonnara beach—literally steps from the sea—the location is truly special. The beach itself is stunning[1], and the setting makes for a peaceful, relaxing day. The restaurant complements the environment perfectly: elegant and stylish, with a unique aesthetic. The bar, in particular, stands out with its artistic furniture and sculptures crafted from driftwood and salvaged trees. It’s also a great spot for families. Umbrella and lounger rentals are available just a few meters from the water, so you can lounge in the sun or shade while the kids play safely nearby. Even better, there’s beachside service—so you can enjoy a refreshing cocktail without leaving your spot. That said, it’s not cheap: a set with one umbrella and two loungers costs €50 if you’re dining at the restaurant, or €70 if not. The food is solid, if not spectacular. My assiette de la mer (€32) was fresh and enjoyable, and the salade de l’OM (€20) was light, flavorful, and refreshing. I also remember enjoying their tahini dish from a previous visit. Drinks are on the pricier side, with most cocktails around €14. Overall, the pricing reflects the premium location and ambiance—Corsica isn’t a budget destination to begin with. Service is excellent. The staff member who set up our beach loungers checked in throughout the day to adjust our umbrella and ensure we stayed in the shade, and beachside drink service was quick and attentive. If you're looking for a laid-back day in a beautiful, beachfront setting—and you're comfortable with the prices—Le Goeland won't disappoint. ----------------------- [1] And never particularly busy, at least the times I've been here in early July.

We felt very uncomfortable in this restaurant. We came in the afternoon hoping to get something to eat, but even though there were almost no other guests, we were completely ignored for at least 15 minutes. In the end, we just got up and left. The service was very dismissive and inattentive.

As we wanted to try the traditional Corsican dishes, we checked the menus online and this place had all the food recommended by local guide. A nice touch was amuse bouche - truffle mousse. We had aubergine a la Bonifacienne, civet de sanglier and linguini a la truffe. We loved in particular the aubergine - it was really delicate. As the portions are very reasonable, we had space for desserts and we also tried the local specialities - the chestnut tiramisu (awesome), the fiadone cheesecake (awesome) and the pineapple carpaccio. We finished the lunch with the glass of a local liquor (mirto) and canisttrelli (offered by restaurant). If we add to the tasty food a nice service and a nice view - you can't wish for more. Simply excellent.

I can really recommend this place!! The waiter was incredibly friendly and charismatic. When asked to give us recommendations, he doesn’t just choose the most expensive dish, but tries to figured out what would match our taste. The food itself was very high quality and very well prepared. The mirizana and the lasagna are really incredible!! Definitely order it. The mirizana is said to be the secret recipe of the great-grandmother. The lamb was also very tasty. The fish was a tiny bit too chewy for my taste, but still very enjoyable. Nearby airports

Figari-South Corsica Airport

Airport
Figari-South Corsica Airport, also known as Figari Sud-Corse Airport (FSC), is located approximately 25km from Porto Vecchio and Bonifacio in Corse du Sud. The airport offers limited shuttle bus service to Porto Vecchio and is just 4km from Figari village. Despite being a small airport, it provides essential facilities for travelers. It's advisable to book flights early due to fluctuating prices throughout the year.
Volitea check in staff are excellent & extremely helpful especially with our little chihuahua Blue. All the staff here are approachable, pleasant & ready to help.Security Staff include & they are thorough. Departure lounges are small for the amount of passengers boarding an Airbus 320. Once in the departure lounge I was going to complain the only water available was in the toilets. However, the little cafe then opened up and drinks were available. I'm sure it will feel claustrophobic in the high summer season.
Martin W — Google review
Small but perfectly formed. This airport shows that airports don't need to be massive to fulfil the needs of passengers. The staff were very helpful when I used it in my flights to and from the UK in 2023 and the walk to and from the aircraft and the terminal was the shortest I've seen at any airport I've been to.
Simon B — Google review
Don’t fly to this airport. On arrival they don’t indicate where to get your luggage. On departure there is total chaos, no ordered cues, people skipping the line because that’s totally possible, entering the security check takes ages because they only have 2 (!!) portals. I think it’s worth the money to fly somewhere better.

I was a bit worried reading all the reviews, but I have to say I had a very positive experience overall: all staff was kind and helpful, there were seats if we wanted and the toilets were clean (especially before security, but the after one was also not ‘that’ bad). Probably it depends on the day of the travel, we had a 9:40 flights and before it was 3 at 8 am, after 10:15, so basically our flight was the only passengers probably on the airport. And also it depends on one’s attitude: if you rude and inpatient, probably the staff will react accordingly 🤷 (what is not nice, but c’est la vie francais / corse 😅) So for a small airport, not that bad, they might need to consider repositioning their shops after security and extending the waiting area here if they have so many flights. Except - last minute - they are really unorganised 😨… they forgot to check the passports after boarded half of the passengers 🤦‍♂️… so starting again 😏 Back to 4 as they sorted out efficiently 💪

One of the worst experience! We have our flight in 1h and 30 minutes, waiting at the line and when trying to pass the security check a lady comes and tells us that "we're too early and we can not enter and we need to wait again in line for 20 minutes".

One of the most amazing airports I've been in! Stupid? Noo, I'm actually the stupid one. After waiting in the security line for about 25/30 minutes, the security guy replies with "you have to wait for the call to come to the security" while pointing to the screen. He seemed like a nice person tho. It's a good thing I only speak portuguese and english because none of these were useful :D - I look at the indications in english on the screen.. and there's none. Just says "on time", which is great, because at this rate, at least one of us is going to be on time! Only after we went to the information desk (they speak english, their english is great, 5 stars, coming from someone who only has portuguese as their first language) they decided to let everyone know that... That... The security for our flight was outside, and we could now start going over there! I have no beef with people working there, they were all really nice to me personally, professional, the organization of the airport is just a bit awful. I'm guessing most tourists go to Corsica during summer, which makes the airport go beyond it's capacity. Maybe, for the construction to be "profitable", people would have to come in at large or at least more during winter, fall, etc.. So I guess this will just keep going until they decide to expand it nonetheless the effort-profit, and sacrifice their quality in the meantime. For the people who say "other people are being too judgemental or being overly dramatic", just remember to kindly not invalidate other people's feelings/experiences considering you wouldn't like for someone to say your review is "too optimistic or too good" either.

This is the worst airport I’ve ever been, it’s so small and chaotic in July for how many flights they handle. It’s a SHAME TO FRANCE and to this beautiful island.
David S — Google review
Air Corsica (Air France) check-in personnel either speak no English, or 4th grader level English. 30 - 40 minute delays, wait times and near zero charging ports at this airport. Expect abysmal service.

Ajaccio Napoleon Bonaparte Airport

Airport
Ajaccio Napoleon Bonaparte Airport, also known as AJA, is located just 6 km east of the city harbor. Travelers can easily reach the airport by taking bus number 8 from the town's train station or bus number 12 from P+R Campo dell'Oro. Taxis and rental car services are also available at the terminal for convenient transportation options. Despite being Corsica's main airport, it is relatively small in size.
Small airport, well-organized. Not too crowded outside peak holiday times.
Christian C — Google review
small airport with not enough capacity for the influx of travelers during summer - once past security (long line, one working check point) there is no real food options except a bar with a few stale muffins and chips and mostly alcohol. 80% of people standing as they don’t have enough seats for the outbound traffic and inside is chaos
Addie W — Google review
Very nice small airport, it runs very efficiently and was easy to get around. They have nice food and a bar and chicken is a breeze.

Tiny airport, easily accesible from downtown Ajaccio with not many facilities. You walk to the plane, there is no shuttle
Urban T — Google review
Small airport, short distance to everywhere and friendly staff in general. They require you to print the tags at the machines firstly. Then wait for long lines to get to the drop-off counters which is another long line. There was no priority for families with infants. For baby trolley, you still have to go to another counter to drop it off. Then at the security check, again no fast lanes. And finally at the gates there was just one place for drinks/food. Then another lane for passport control and finally boarding (third time checking passports).

Heard air traffic controller go to sleep while working! Be aware!

Badly maintained airport with not much facilities. The toilets are okay, but the rest of the airport is shambles. Over priced everything and no substantial food places to eat apart from bakery. The boarding and check-in is a nightmare and the staff are not much helpful either. Would avoid it if there was a choice but unfortunately it’s the biggest airport in Corsica.

Flight on Sunday 12 May at 8:15. Arrived on time 6:30 or so, deposed baggage and joined the long queue for security. There seemed to be many passengers who arrived late for flights to Paris, Nice and Marseille. We let them all pass as their flight was leaving sooner than ours. When we eventually reached the place where you enter the area with the security scanners a short haired woman approached to ask us where we were flying to and when we responded with our destination her response was to treat us like we had behaved like naughty children, saying “non non, c’est pas possible - sortez, vous êtes trop tot. Our problem was her manner- rude, condescending, loud. Instead of explaining that although yes we had done nothing wrong and in fact had followed the instruction sent by the airline to arrive early, we needed to wait, she was just so rude and treated us like children in maternelle who had no idea what was going on. We left the area and went back to told we could now re- queue. Once through to the scanners we had to for some reason have our boarding passes rescanned before hand-luggage had to scanned and then another rude experience which is something I have never seen in any airport a security guard of some sort sticks his arm out to stop you walking through until he decided it is ok. Process took over an hour. On top of that bathroom not very clean. Poor experience after such a great stay in Corsica. A poor way to leave.

Alghero Airport

International airport
Alghero Airport, also known as Alghero-Fertilia Airport, is situated in the north-western part of Sardinia and serves various areas including Santa Teresa di Gallura, Castelsardo, Sassari, Porto Torres, Stintino, Argentiera, Bosa, Oristano, Tresnuraghes and S'Archittu.
Super lttle airport. Very easy to manage. There is a Tourist Information desk just outside the arrivals hall. We were collecting a hire car from Budget and the pick up point was within walking distance from the terminal.
Jane T — Google review
Cute airport aereal gate to the historical city of Alghero and to the North West part of the mysterious island of Sardinia. Functional design based on a rectangular base correctly distributed. Moreover, it doesn't loose the opportunity to show the wonders of Sardinian history through diverse stands and pictures across the facility. The success of Alghero as a summer destination increased the amount of flights reaching the original design capacity of the facility. The waiting section after security control may be over busy when several departures are close to each other and not all the passengers may find a place to sit, an expansion may be needed in the next years. An hourly bus connects the airport with Alghero's downtown, a higher frequency may be needed on peak season.
Alex S — Google review
cute little airport… but nothing to do. after security there’s two small cafes, a vending machine, a water refill (that was broken when we arrived and a traveler had to fix it since there’s NO ONE around to ask!), about 2-3 other shops and dirty toilets. i think there’s 4 (2 male, 2 female) toilets for many people to share so the queue was long. there also isn’t enough seating for everyone so half the airport were just sitting on the floor. it’s easy to find your way around but as mentioned there’s no one around to ask like for example security or other workers (except in stores and cafes) like you’ll see in other, bigger airports. check in was somehow broken when we got there and seeing as you HAVE to check in at a desk this took a while. they also only had two desks open at first for our fully booked plane. security went surprisingly fast even though there was only maybe 3 or 4 lines open.
Neo — Google review
Small airport, which does the job. Well organized, clean with everything you need, there are sockets to charge the phone. Few places to grab food are available
Mih K — Google review
One star is way too much for this departure area. Worst I have seen and I have seen a lot. 3 planes sharing one toilet. A queue of 40 people trying to piss. What an amazing way to end a vacation
Tom P — Google review
it was okay, i suppose. really small airport with way too many people for such a tiny place, we sat on the floor while we waited for our boarding. there was nothing to do except buy food from an overpriced cafe. there’s a place to fill up your water after security for free! security felt stressful and the queue was long, staff was nice though.

‼️Public transportation ‼️ - You can buy your bus ticket online using the DropTicket or TabNet app. - Alternatively, there is a ticket machine located right next to the taxi lane. Please note: the tobacco shop does not sell bus tickets. - The ticket machine is not located at the bus station. - The bus station is on your right as you exit the arrivals area. - Please check the website of ARST for bus schedules, they might change season to season. Buses to Alghero generally depart on the hour (e.g., 12:00, 13:00, etc.). Bus n.760 goes to Sassari.

So typically Italian. Looks great, works like... Examples range from security checks to the internet. Thirty years ago, we had the same tech. This post couldn't be submitted from the Wi-Fi connection. Q.e.d.

Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport

International airport
Domestic airport
Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport is located in the second city of Sardinia, serving as a gateway to the island's stunning beaches and tourist areas. It is close to beautiful beaches like Marinella, Pittulongu, and Porto Istana, as well as offering easy access to La Maddalena island via the nearby port of Palau. The airport sees a high influx of tourists during the summer season but is relatively quiet during other times of the year.
Avis rentals is not too far away to walk. Clean and manageable. It was an easy check-in with the BA girls Airport security was straightforward, and their lounge was well equipped with food and beverages. Alcohol 🍸 was out too I love Sardinia and it's people. Always friendly and with a smile and joke. Gracie Amelia

Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport was a smooth experience overall. We got through check-in and security quickly and without any issues. Staff were friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived at the ITA Airways counter all the way through to the gate. The airport is clean, organized, and easy to navigate. However, there isn’t much to do once you’re past security. Food options are limited—mostly sandwich spots and vending machines—so if you’re here for a few hours, be prepared to just sit and wait. Seating is fine, but nothing particularly comfortable. Overall, it’s a clean and efficient airport that does the job well, just not the kind of place to hang out for long. Great for a quick in-and-out!

This is such an amazing airport! First the signage makes it easy to navigate, the security rarely takes more than 10 minutes. Plus the route network is extensive throughout Europe taking you to most big cities. The staff were very friendly, the food was good and there’s a decent amount of shops. One thing that was difficult was getting to gates I think 8, 9, and 10, I had gate 9 going back to London Gatwick and you had to go to the end of the main terminal and go to the clearance area to enter England and then down an escalator to the bus gates. And if you have a gate down there get food at the main area as there is no food at those gates!

This is a well run airport. It is not the largest, but it is ordered. Lines moved quickly even though flights arrive at similar times and the staff are keen to assist. On my return, the same experience (with the exception of the grumpy check-in clerk beside our excellent clerk for the flight), bags checked, straight into security, staff pleasant, out through to the smaller space beyond, but adequate enough. We were boarded on the plane well in advance of departure and very smooth. Great experience (and I wouldn't normally review an airport!)

Very happy with this airport, so many shops to keep you occupied! Along with a GREAT smoking area / pet relief area - I've not seen many of these, so was super surprised to see one so well kitted out! Quick security checks, and also a quick pick up of luggage when we landed the week previous
Gemma D — Google review
Easy airport. Not too big, busy, but easy to get around. Great espresso shops. Friendly Iberia airlines. Sit near the piano.
Benjamin G — Google review
We had to wait 45 minutes just to get through control, which was very frustrating. The terminal was extremely hot and uncomfortable, with almost no air circulation. Standing in line for that long in the heat was exhausting, and the staff at control were super rude and unprofessional, not talking to passengers in a normal or polite way. For an international airport, the experience felt poorly organized and stressful. I really hope they improve the air conditioning, queue management, and staff attitude. Just a shame
D K — Google review
Unfortunately, I had a very bad experience at Olbia Airport. Almost every flight was delayed, and there was no communication about what was going on. Absolutely no transparency. The so-called “smoking area” was a joke... out of 10 people there, 7 were airport staff just standing around smoking and chatting. No wonder things aren’t running properly when the staff are more focused on chilling out, than their jobs. The air conditioning is barely working — it was hot and uncomfortable inside. There are far too few seats, which is unacceptable when you’re stuck waiting for longer.. To top it off, the prices for food and drinks are outrageously high, even for airport standards. I’ll definitely try to avoid this airport in the future if I can.
