Shopping mall
Parque Comercial Gran Plaza is a modern retail center that offers a wide range of local and international brands, fast-food options, and entertainment. With 125 new retail outlets, it provides ample underground parking and easy access by car or bicycle. The shopping center features a large supermarket, DIY and electrical stores, designer shops, sports shops, a multi-screen cinema with English screenings, a bowling alley, games machines, as well as various restaurants and cafe bars.
Great shopping experience, but if you get your beard grown for Movember, some security guards will activate their inner militia instincts, thinking that you look rough and you’ll be a trouble. Get shaved, and they’ll smile. Apart from that, immense space, clean toilets, clean premises, a lot of light and fresh air. Parking is huge, plenty of spaces. If you visit in the morning or early afternoon, most eating places are closed, so grab some breakfast first, somewhere.
Radu I — Google review
Good shopping centre, it would be nice to have a play area for children rather than just a few rides. Plenty of parking available. The cafés, restaurants and toilets are upstairs. There is a lift to reach all of the different floors but the escalators ONLY go up, not down.
Mrs B — Google review
Very good selection of shops. Spent a lot of money at Zara's but money well spent. Good deals on shirts, shorts, trousers and shoes 👞. Did expect shoes at Zara's but bought 2 pairs.
Heinz N — Google review
Lots of big name stores and restaurants. There is no seating area to rest. Only seats are in restaurants and the massage chairs. Downstairs indoor Car park is a bit chaotic. A paradise for clothes shopping.
Jamie D — Google review
It is the most entertaining and fun shopping center in the area
Hermes A — Google review
Large enough to pass some time away with plenty of different diverse restaurants or snack bars. But could do with some more places to sit . It's quite a long way round to walk with only one place to sit rest and watch the people go by.
Anthony S — Google review
Great place to shop could do with more high street shops
The F — Google review
I ride my bike to go shopping and there's just one place I can lock it up safely but then again there is lots of security and cameras. I wish there were more toilets as far as I know there is only one on the first floor. There are lots of quality shops for every budget which is great and taxis outside all the time if you don't have a car.I'd say it's pretty good for disabled access too from what I've seen but I'm not disabled so can't vouch for how accessible it really is overall or for the shop layouts etc. It would be absolutely epic if they had more amusement park games here so there's something different to do especially when it's rainy however there is a cinema. It is easy to find and there is a bus stop outside next to the roundabout but the service isn't too great so be prepared for a wait. 😜👍🤦‍♀️🧋🍔☕🫖🎟👗👠👟👖

Farmers Markets
Nestled in the heart of the city, Mercado de Abastos is a vibrant marketplace that offers an impressive array of products, making it a go-to destination for culinary enthusiasts. With its modern and clean design, this market provides high-quality produce including fresh meats, seafood, and a colorful selection of vegetables. While some may find its contemporary feel detracts from the traditional charm found in markets like those in Malaga or Valencia, many appreciate the helpful and friendly staff who enhance the shopping experience.
A place where you can buy everything for your kitchen cooking. From fresh meat, fish and sea foods and to all varieties of vegetables.
Jin A — Google review
Good quality produce in modern clean surroundings but that takes away the charm of a market. Lacks the life and authenticity you find in places like Malaga and Valencia.

Points of Interest & Landmarks
The Plaza de Toros is an elaborate arena constructed in 1888, featuring a collection of toreador attire and hosting live performances during the summer season. On Thursday 23 August 2018, both the museum and bullring will be accessible from 6pm onwards with free admission. The venue offers information in both Spanish and English languages. The surrounding region boasts a range of cafes, bars, as well as recreational areas for children and skaters to enjoy.
This place is steeped in history. It's free to go in and wander around the bull ring. There are several museums, very interesting, the stitching and detail on the clothing is magnificent 👌 Thank you for having us and its spotless!
Pauline — Google review
There was almost nobody else... but the arena was impressive, the museum intesting and nicly organized! And it was free!!!
Kris D — Google review
Nice bull area with a small museum, you don't have to pay for the tickets, because it is free, but the access to the tribune is closes and forbidden.
Peter L — Google review
Just a quick visit. Not into this type of thing, but had to take a photo call to add to our travels
MrandMrsT — Google review
Unfortunatelly the bullring was closed when we went to visit but the place looks simply beautiful and very well maintained. Even the area outside the bullring was nice and well kept.

It's a nice location for the monthly market. It would be great if there were more contributors because the space could hold so much more. Nonetheless its a great place to spend a few hours out on a Sunday

La Romanilla beach is a popular urban beach in Roquetas de Mar, offering amenities such as showers, restrooms, and a first aid facility. The area around the beach offers various services including supermarkets, bars, restaurants, and pharmacies. La Romanilla beach is known for its natural beauty and lively nightlife scene, making it a favorite spot for locals and tourists alike.
The best and cleanest beach in Roquetas del Mar,nice clean sand and water 💧,like California beaches. There is toilet near entrance and little kiosk with coffee and Belgian waffles, nice cold frappe and ice cream. Chairs for bronzing you can have with a mattress and small table for 5euro There a parking near the beach and in 10 passes from beach you can find restaurant with breakfast
Catherina M — Google review
It's one of the cleanest beaches in the area, the water is clear but beware of jellyfish. Nice beach playgrounds for children. Exercise machines are along the promenade, there is a cycling track either towards Aguadulce or Roquetas
Mrs B — Google review
This beach has small stones and can be quite dusty. Good for lying in the sun and playing beach games. Not good for building sandcastles or digging holes with daughters!! There is normally a good atmosphere and the beach is never really that busy. Although can be busier in the late afternoon. A great place for a walk on the promenade in the evening.

Water park
Water & Amusement Parks
Mariopark is an aquatic attraction suitable for all ages, providing visitors with a variety of thrilling experiences including a wave pool, steep slides and designated children's areas. Despite some additional fees for certain activities, the park is well-maintained and boasts ample safety measures such as numerous lifeguards to ensure the security of younger guests.
We visited today, and were pleasantly surprised. After reading all of the bad reviews I felt I had to leave one of my own. We went with 2 children age 4 & 8 and they both had a brilliant day! Was surprised at how much my 4 year old was allowed to do compared to other waterparks we have visited! Everyone complaining about the extra hire charges simply needs to read the website as it is all stated on there and we were very much aware before arriving. But looking at the likes of waterworld or the sancastle back home you pay pretty much the same prices but for only a couple of hours, and nowhere near as many attractions, whereas here we had all day, and so much to do. The park was pretty quiet for a Monday in the summer holidays, but they did have discounts advertised for later in the week so maybe everyone was waiting to get in cheaper? The layout of the loungers was brilliant, you have your own little personal space and we felt they were definitley worth paying for as people weren't all crammed in like in other parks, also the safe box attached to the parasol, what a brilliant idea! There was no running backwards and forwards to lockers for personal items! The park felt well staffed and really safe, there were lifeguards at the top and bottom of all slides and they were constantly watching! We arrived at 12.30 and left at 6.30 and the children would have loved to stay longer! We ordered a pizza and fries to share, the portions were huge and food was fresh. All in all a brilliant day out and would definitely return!
Nichola N — Google review
Several people have broken shoulders on their tallest ride (I saw them on TV) I myself hurt my knee on that ride, by hitting it against the wall if the tube. The people on TV were complaining that the managent could not care less about their injuries! Other than that, the pools are fine! 😊
Carlos E — Google review
The park is good in terms of rides and layout. I will say that first because I have had to reduce the score for several reasons. The life guards are absurdly over zealous. Some stand with the whistles in their mouths waiting for any reason to blow. In the large pool I lifted my daughter out of the water when one guard blew a whistle, when I looked over she was shaking her finger. Another guard whistled because a child was splashing lots whilst they were swimming! It was shockingly bad. I am a full size adult and the area we were playing in was empty so I told the guard to leave me alone and carried on playing but kids were stopped from having fun. The guards at the top of the rides were a little more relaxed and let some people take cameras down so it wasn’t all bad. The other issue is the fact that since we last visited they have put nets up to stop you getting into the water except in some places. This wouldn’t be too much of an issue because most people climbed over the barriers ignoring the whistles from the guards but I am disabled so walking is difficult, stepping over would be impossible, it meant to go from the beds I rented into the water I was next I had to walk around the pool I wanted to get in for quite a while. So the guards cost a star, the nets cost a star and finally, the park opened at 11:30. We were waiting to get in and the guards opened the gates at exactly 11:30, the park closed at 19:30, at 19:00 everyone was forced out of the water, we were ushered out like cattle, it gave us no time to shower and dress because everyone, at the same time had to try to do the same. We ended up having to change in the car park. This was probably our 7th or 8th visit to the park and we won’t be back. There are other parks in the area that offer better value for money and let you have the fun you paid for.
Matt I — Google review
2024 UPDATE The prices have gone up, there's one new ride although it wasn't open when we went at the beginning of July. I highly recommend buying tickets online as you save a small amount but the main advantage is that there is a separate queue which saves time. If you choose not to hire a float, the waiting time isn't too bad. More staff speak English. The place has been freshly painted, it looks clean and well presented. The onsite parking is FREE. It's not cheap, you do pay extra for a few things however the place is brilliant and there's plenty of fun to be had
Mrs B — Google review
Payed 55euro for 2 adults. You have to rent sun beds, rent slide wheels rent lockers that dont work properly, massives queues on slides 30 40minute wait. What a waste of money.
Arnas P — Google review
Some pools need some more cleaning. Everything was okay even though some attractions weren’t operating in the kids pool area. My biggest problem with this was the fact that they closed the little restaurant which is the ONLY place they sell actual food at 4:00 pm. It is a bit ridiculous that we are trapped in a water park and they closed the only place where we can buy food other than small hot dogs and crepes. This should change
David M — Google review
Great park, bit of a faff if you don't rent your own ring.
Craig S — Google review
We were hesitatant to go here because of the lackluster reviews. However I did enjoy coming here. We went september 7th which is the last day it's open. It wasn't super busy but there were some moments you had to wait to use the slides, most of which were worth it. If you do go here, bring your own towels, lay on the grass and bring your own food to save on some unnecessary costs. Apart from that have fun 😊

La Tagliatella is an Italian restaurant located in Roquetas de Mar, Almeria. Situated near the town and the beach, it offers a taste of northern Italy as soon as you step through its doors. The restaurant has received mixed reviews about its food and service, with some praising the flavors and friendly staff while others have noted inconsistencies in dishes over time. Despite this, many recommend trying their bread and enjoying the pleasant dining experience.
Great, simply fantastic. Excellent value for money, tasty pasta, kind and polite service and cosy atmosphere. Worth mentioning the person that attended us, his name is Alex, light eyes, very attentive and nice to us, it is satisfying to have this type pf people when you go to a restaurant like this, you expect a certain level, and we got it. In summary, I would recommend this place for absolutely everyone. Surely I will keep this place in mind for the next time.

Mis Viejos Don Jamón ll is a charming spot that beautifully blends the rustic charm of rural dining with the vibrancy of modern cuisine. The atmosphere is lively, complemented by attentive staff who go above and beyond to ensure a delightful experience, even for those who may not speak Spanish.
So glad we stopped in to this lovely tapas restaurant! Loved the decor, and our server was so friendly! Generous portions, good prices and wide selection of tapas. The food was delicious, probably some of the most flavourful Rabo de Toros yet!!

We had been advised to try this restaurant by a local. We wanted to try the tapas menu. We ordered two glasses of white wine, fish and tomato sauce and a crispy chicken burger. These were from the special tapas menu so cost extra. The burger was plain. No real taste. The fish dish was also ok. The fish was warm but the potatoes were cold.

Great food and great Spanish night atmosphere. Food is great and comes relatively fast once ordered. Great Tapas and some good kid friendly dishes too. Only downside that isn't really is there is only 1 waiter to take orders but he does a great job and gives good recommendations and service. Just order a bunch of tapas to keep you busy for a bit. Go at opening for no wait or be prepared to wait a while for a table.

Great food. The owner travels to research dishes and bring them back to his restaurant. I won't say the meals are super authentic since the recipes are changed a little but all the food is high quality and delicious. Lots of Asian and South American influence. Castillo de Santa Ana is a historic castle from the 14th century that provides magnificent panoramic sights of the sea. The compound comprises a small museum and gallery for visitors to explore. It's a popular destination where one can stroll around and admire the stunning views from atop the roof. Additionally, it offers an exhibition consisting of impressive photographs that are worth viewing. The best part is, visitors can enjoy all these attractions at no cost as entry to the castle is free.
Castle looked great from the outside. Sadly, we arrived at a time when it was closed (little tip for you....check opening times before you go) haha! Some beautiful photo opportunities there. I may go back when it is open but from what I could see it was amazing.

I came two years ago, they had an art exhibition on (modern art, I was like yeah I can have a go too). I drew a picture of the Castillo. It features me walking my dog called Colonel Lappy and a rainbow in the background. The Colonel loves castles too, he's a good imaginary dog. Anyway I hope I win. Worth a visit if you like castles and old stuff.

A lovely place to visit, cute place with some photos and exhibits which make the walk about quite nice. People mainly go to the top of the castle to take nice photos which is totally worth it. You can easily spend at least 1hr and is free entry. Easy walk from hotel nearby.

Historical & Fabulous Castle My family really enjoyed it. This is a beautiful castle in the Old Town of Roquetas. super place to take a stroll walking around just enjoying the sea breeze. Very relaxing.

Beautiful castle, detailed history and art exhibition. Free entry and the views from the top are amazing

Worth a look and even better it was free to enter. Beautiful views from the top and very well kept. Inside is currently displaying a photography and art exhibition which was very interesting, especially for my eldest daughter. We all enjoyed the time we spent there and would recommend anyone visiting the area to take a look.

If you visit nearby Spain then it's a nice stop off point during a beach walk to grab some much needed shade. This is an old fort i believe dating back to 1700s however it is very modern inside and to be fair, it looks great!! It is now an art gallery with plenty of pictures and quirky art pieces and to top it off, it's free to get in!! You can also go up to roof and have a good view out to sea and across the harbour. Its not huge so plan this in as a minor pit stop. Oh.. and there's a nice Amphitheatre outside too :)

Nice historical monument but unfortunately we arrived at siesta time so it was just closing. Nice for a little walk around the exterior anyway.

Castor Park is a fantastic amusement park that offers an enjoyable Friday afternoon experience for children. It is important to note that this park operates only on Fridays from 15:00 onwards and on weekends from 11:00. During other times, it remains closed. For just 4 Euros, visitors can avail of a 30-minute pass allowing access to three bouncy castles, the king kong slide, and trampolines - providing great value for money.
We had a great Friday afternoon with not many kids (April). Please note that not during the summer this place operates on Fridays from 15:00 and weekends from 11:00. Otherwise it's closed. You do get 30 minutes pass for 4 Euro, to use 3 bouncy casles, king kong slide and the trampolines, which is great

Small but fun. Our children really enjoyed it. No cash or card, you top up a card at the desk. They opened another location last year near the Gran Plaza area.

Daughter loved the trampolines! Staff looked very sad and not amused. Almost like they hated their job. This was not an issue, but looked strange to me.

Good prices, small but enough rides for a few hours of fun with children under 6/7. My 5 year old loved it.

Hotel Best Sabinal is a delightful beachfront retreat that promises an enjoyable stay for families and couples alike. With its prime location in Roquetas de Mar, guests can easily access the pristine beach just steps away from the hotel. The spacious rooms, especially those with sea views, offer a comfortable haven after a day of fun. Daily maid service ensures cleanliness throughout your stay. The hotel features three bars and multiple pools where you can unwind while sipping on refreshing drinks.
Brilliant hotel can not really think of anything negative to say about. Food was fantastic and such a variety of choice which changed with new additions added every night to change it up. Rooms were very clean and kept to a fantastic standard. Most of the staff were extremely friendly, helpful and hard working. Especially Rocio and Diana in the dining hall. There was one person who favoured serving Spanish people at the bar first but this definitely didn't take away from the overall experience. The spa was excellent apart from one jacuzzi which didn't work on one side and the steam room was out of order but overall was brilliant as these things happen. Would definitely recommend staying here. Entertainment was virtually all spanish which is OK! (it's in Spain)!!! What do you except haha. Great value for money especially if you like a drink and your grub on the all inclusive.
Craig P — Google review
The hotel is quite large, and I particularly enjoyed the spacious outdoor swimming pool, and the smaller indoor pool complete with a jacuzzi and sauna. However, is additional charge of €6 for two hours. The room was clean , offering an amazing view of the sea. Accessing the room using a bracelet was convenient, and I found the reception staff to be friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Additionally, there were entertainment options for both kids and adults each day, making it an enjoyable experience. On the downside, I think the dining options could be improved. Offering a wider variety of dishes would enhance the overall dining experience. Furthermore, it would be great if rooms included a kettle for preparing coffee or tea. Overall, I had a wonderful stay.

Positive: Excellent Pool water quality Presence of Lifeguards English speaking staff Self service bar for drinks at the pool Daytime snacks + overall food quality & variation All inclusive option is well worth it with good cocktails & fine house wines. Overall cleanliness of the hotel, dining room, pool area & housekeeping. Separate smoking/non smoking areas and staff actively addressing people when not complying Late night animation was nice during our week (circus act, bird show, live music..) Reception offered us to still use all facilities & have lunch after checkout, because we arrived very late on our first day Negative: One of our Beds/matrasses was horrible. Sometimes dirty dishes Extremely loud & chaotic dining room: There is a small separate area at the back which is quieter Lack of English during animation
Thomas M — Google review
Pros: - Nice room with a sea view, very close to the seafront - Comfy and large enough beds - Good selection of food in the restaurant, fresh and lots of options, although it needs a one way system in place - Staff spoke good English in reception - Good pool facilities for older kids - A nice area to have a stroll and lots of good shops nearby Cons: - Dinner and breakfast was bit chaotic with people pushing and shoving and unfortunately not with any manners - No drinks at all unless they’re purchased at dinner time for half-board. Not even water. Although at breakfast there is water freely available from dispenser. Asked to be served a drink at dinner and was ignored, our order was never taken despite asking and mentioning my young children needing a drink, so I went to our room to get a bottle of water. It seems the restaurant is not just for guests so this might explain this, and why it’s incredibly busy in May. - Children’s pool not suitable for under 5’s because of large buckets of water tipping into the splash pool every minute, which we saw frightened most young children and they didn’t want to use the slides, a separate, more gentle area without the water buckets or to even turn one off would be great. - €10 deposit for a towel, which we thought was a bit extreme. - Spa is not included and doesn’t mention that it’s extra on booking.com. It’s €6 each per adult for 2 hours. - no English TV channels or option for them. - Kids club very poor, we saw children playing in the room and knocked at the door only for staff to open it, look at us and close it again. No entertainment for kids. - Evening entertainment very poor unless you’re an older person. Not suitable for families. Also no seating space in the lounge in the evening. - Lots of cigarette buts around the pool. Not great with kids

Just spent a week in the Best Sabinal and I can honestly say I was already thinking of booking again for next year. The location of the hotel is great, right on the beach, the surrounding areas are packed with tourist shops and little bars and restaurants. You can rent a bike just outside if you want to ride around instead of walking. The hotel staff are all friendly and approachable from the front desk to the cleaning crew, most spoke English, the ones who didn't they did their best to understand us. They are all hard working people with a smile on their faces. The food and drinks were in plenty of choice. There are plenty of sunbeds for everyone. The animation team was amazing and involving, they arranged games, and they were translating to English when non Spanish speakers were also playing. The spa was brilliant too. The week that we've spent here was great and relaxing, I'd highly recommend this hotel.

We returned from Best Sabinal since Tuesday, we had a great and pleasant stay and had nothing to complaint about. Service was good, we had a little problem in the bathroom with a leaking lavabo, but they came to fix it the same day. Everyone was very friendly and helpfull, also in the restaurant when I had questions about certain products. Food was excellent, wide choice for everyone, theme nights every evening were great. We had a room on the top floor (7th) with splendid frontal seaview.. the pool is not the biggest but even with many people in it didn't feel overcrowded. If I have to day one thing less "positive", it's the animation which was almost only in Spanish and quite late and loud 🙈 Nice walking to Playa Serena where you have more bars, shops and restaurants. Another plus: bus stop next to hotel to go to Roquetas center/Gran Plaza shopping and market and to Almeria City, and very cheap. I was a travel agent for almost 15 years, and I used to book this hotel for so many clients before, and now I was glad to book it for myself and my dad and son, and I did not regret anything about it 🙂
Marjan B — Google review
We paid £550pp for 7 nights all inclusive including flights, luggage & transfers, so for that, it served its purpose for price paid and a week in the sunshine but this is definately NOT a 4 star hotel! Its in need of TLC throughout the hotel and day/night time entertainment is quite poor and what is planned does not run on time. All Inclusive drinks was a good selection and plenty of beds around the pool. Would I go again for the price paid - yes. Would i pay anymore than £550pp - no.
Adrian D — Google review
The hotel is good. They have huge variety of foods everyday from breakfast to dinner. Different themes every dinner (fex-mex,gala, Mediterranean, asian, italian, mexican. I am only disappointed with Italian and Asian. The sushi rice is bad. And the lasagne is bad. The first time I ate the Paella is so salty but after like 3-4 days they are okay again.

Diver Roquetas Hotel by Senator is a relaxed hotel with a nautical theme, offering a range of amenities and activities. Located near the beach, it provides easy access to Roquetas de Mar Beach and Playa Serena. The hotel features an outdoor pool, indoor pool, waterslide, and complimentary wireless internet access. Guests can enjoy all-inclusive rates and themed rooms with comfortable beds, submarine bunk beds, two bathrooms, and a walk-in closet.
We had the thematic room 454, which is perfect. Comfy double queen beds next to each other- that makes it a great family bed, large enough for all! Across from the submarine bunk beds! Two bathrooms- with all amenities. Walk-in closet. The pool is too small if the hotel is at capacity but the ocean is 5min away. Location is good. Many shops and restaurants and of course next to the ocean.

The only good things were the cleanliness & the few English speaking staff. Awful food. Awful entertainment & only Spanish speaking entertainers & kids club runners. V loud at night. Over the weekend (apparently all weekends) the place is invaded by Spanish gypsies, who I wouldn't have had any problems with apart from the fact they were rude, messy (throwing loo rolls into the pool & half empty packets & empty cups all over the pool area. More like a sunny butlins!

Thursdays at Restaurante Pizzería Roma, Frente Hotel Best Sabinal are fantastic with their steak night special. For just 12 units of currency, they offer a three-course meal that three members of our party chose to indulge in. I personally decided to treat myself to a fillet steak which was absolutely delightful. The starter, a prawn cocktail with avocado, fruit and bread was generously sized and could easily be a main dish on its own.
Fantastic. Visited many times over the years and we're never disappointed. The Menú del dia is superb value but all the dishes are excellent. Highly recommended

Returned to sample the pizzas. Took the pizza special €12.50 midweek deal. My wife had the salmon pizza and I had the salami pizza. We both had a beer. The pizzas were really good. The base was thin but not very thin like in northern Italy. Definitely be back to try other pizzas.. Paid twenty five euro by bank card.

Here is the English translation of your text: --- The delivered pizza was unworthy of an Italian restaurant. It reminded me more of a frozen pizza than the flavor of a real Italian one. One of the worst gastronomic experiences of my life. The plastic chairs didn’t make up for the staff’s kindness. --- Let me know if you want a more formal or a more casual version as well.

We went here a few nights ago(not the first time) and had a really nice lasagna, been for takeout pizzas tonight and what a disappointment, we have had pizza before too and not had a problem but tonight’s pizza was just terrible, I’ve never had a meal with so much salt, we may as well have gone to the beach and drunk the sea water, we could not eat the pizzas, they literally burnt our mouths with the amount of salt

Fantastic service and atmosphere, but the pizza is very soggy. I went with my family because we thought it was an Italian style pizzeria, but the pizza was not Italian at all! (e.g., pizza with spaghetti topping on the menu...ugh...). Advice to the restaurant, please put cheese AND THEN the toppings, not the other way around.

It was very busy there so we didn't think twice about eating in this restaurant. We had the garlic bread for starters, which was nothing special. A sliced baguette rubbed with garlic, this was ok but nothing to write home about. For the main course we both had the Spaghetti Pil Pil, which had a very strange aroma and after taste, but we continued to eat it. My wife mentioned she wasn't happy with the dish as it tasted burnt. It wasn't until we had eaten a lot of the Spaghetti and reached the bottom of the dish we saw all the black burned garlic. It left a very bad taste not only that night but also the day after. I complained to the waiter who just shrugged his shoulders and said lo siento. Safe to say it was not the best dining experience and we won't be back.

Visitors have enjoyed delicious tasting menus and great wine selections. The staff has been praised for their excellent service, despite language barriers. Amazing experience tonight, tasting menu was delicious, wine was really good, staff were really great and considering they said they only speak a little English they went out there way to try and translate everything to English for us and did an amazing job with it! Fantastic food for the price (€50 for an extensive and delicious tasting menu). The octopus in potato cream was especially good, as was the beef and the desert. The service was warm, personal and attentive. Highly recommended. My only criticism would be the music, which was slightly loud and ill fitting. Regardless, commendations to the head chef.

At least once a year, for special occasions, we like to pamper ourselves here when we are in the region. You can expect a great welcome, wonderful food, super wine and lots of culinary delights. Professional and family at the same time. A very special venue.

We dined here for a special occasion on a quiet Friday evening. We took a taxi from Almeria centre, around 25 minutes away. We booked easily via the Fork app. We enjoyed the food, and amuse bouche courses. The standouts the migas and Iberican pork, with silky flesh, and soft breadcrumbs. Great wine, the ribero del duero Hacienda Monasterio, was from an extensive list. Service was excellent by both the maitre d, and server. Minor complaint that the venue was a little too quiet and the lighting a bit too bright. It would be good to see more people here to improve the ambience, but I guess that is symptomatic of the current covid period. Recommended however and would return.

Nice restaurant with good service but painfully slow. Took 4 and a half hours and we were losing the will to live by the end of it. The food looks great but the flavours aren't particularly special. They need to significantly speed things up at least.

Pizza restaurant
La Grappa is an authentic Italian restaurant with a lovely patio that exudes the ambiance of Italy. The owner and many staff members are Italian, adding to the genuine atmosphere. Guests rave about the delicious food, including Provolone, Carpaccio, and flavorful pizzas like Capricciosa. The cozy setting and excellent service make for a delightful dining experience. Visitors often find themselves returning to this staple of Roquetas due to its addictive pizza bases and delectable meals.
You step into this lovely patio and you feel as if you were in Italy. The owner is Italian and many of the waiters and waitresses too, the food is great and the atmosphere friendly and relaxed. We ordered Provolone and Carpaccio, both of them delish, followed by some pizzas. My Capricciosa was just right, how well the artichoke combines with the capers and the tightly chopped ham, but we ordered a bit too much and we were able to take the leftovers home ;)

Our favourite restaurant in Roquetas de mar. Friendly waiters, ready with a laugh & a joke. Service perfect, and a great choice of high quality pizza & pasta, all home made. We loved the tagellini- thin pasta. Desserts for sharing and particularly good.

A great authentic Italian restaurant. The atmosphere is cozy and the food is delicious. The service is excellent and the owner found a great wine from his own cellar to match our requests. Definitely worth a visit - and would recommend you to try even if your staying at one of the nearby hotels with all inclusive.

If you're craving a diverse selection of quality tapas paired with a refreshing drink like wine, beer, or any other beverage, we recommend visiting El Rincón Secreto. Situated between Playa Serena and the Golf Club of the same name - in an easily accessible area with ample parking - this restaurant offers not only an inviting indoor dining room but also an attractive outdoor terrace. It's a compelling option for enjoying appetizers or having lunch and dinner from a varied tapas menu.
Very very good tapaz and raciones. Also very gentle and helpfull staff. They really do their best to help you if you don't speak Spanish. Ask also their choice of selected wines. We recommend!

Best food we've had in Roquetas de Mar so far. Everything was exceptional - well prepared, tasty and with great presentation. Very reasonable prices for tapas and for larger meals. And wonderful service too! We will be returning.

Food is good, allot of the veggie options are fried though 😋. Wines are better than average, but it is all a bit pricy. Think local Spanish 🇪🇸 are in the know here. It is all geared to locals, they order different. Menu is not the menu. Ask, but speak to the staff in Spanish.
Michael M — Google review
Very friendly service, taking time to give good suggestions. The tapas are the best in town, mixing traditional Spanish elements with inspirations from around the world. Good selection of wine and beer. Not the typical tourist-oriented convenience food you find in many of the other bars/restaurants in the area. Still the prices are far from being too expensive. The atmosphere inside is very nice and cosy. That is not the case if you sit outside, but the food more than makes up for that. Definitely worth a visit!

Before our visit I read the reviews Some say the service is great other days it’s terrible Well we found that the two lads who don’t speak English to be pleasant however the owner (I think )who seems to get great positive reviews who speaks English was great with the Spanish but ignorant to non Spanish so this might explain the positive and negative service reviews We enjoyed the food but the lady server ( owner I think ) was not at all interested in us as customers and there may come a time in a recession when they need non Spanish customers so disappointing experience sums up the visit

Not very good unfortunately. Half of what we ordered they didn’t have and what we got wasn’t very tasty. The food took a very long time. For every order they tried to make us order from the more expensive part of the menu. We can’t recommend this restaurant to anyone.

One of its highlights is the shark cave diving experience where guests can get up close to these iconic sea inhabitants inside a 700,000-liter oceanarium.
Good place to go to for an afternoon out. Right next door to Mario Park and a 15 minutes walk from Gran Plaza shopping mall. Information is in multiple languages however the talks are only in Spanish. I was amazed to find out that the main shark tank makes everything in the tank looks 30% smaller. I thought Romero the bull shark was already big enough 😄🦈

A nice aquarium with touching pool, great for kids. The only drawback is it's quite quick to get around, so I would recommend trying to get a discount eg. If you have passes for Mini Hollywood you can get in for half price.
Tamara — Google review
Booked tickets on line for ease but was a very quiet day, which was lovely. A guide at the beginning spoke perfect English and advised where to and what to see. You can get hands on with the star fish/stingrays and buy €1 fish food to feed some at the begining. The talks are in Spanish obviously but you can tell the staff love their jobs and she was very nice in pointing out certain things to us about where to watch the stingrays get fed. We watched divers feed the sharks and saw the cutest 3 legged turtle! We walked round once, had a very reasonable drink in the cafe. €7 for a slush, can of pop and Americano coffee then walked around again and spent more time letting the stingrays splash us and smoothing the ones that clearly liked the attention. All in all a few good hours out and worth the trip

Without the touch experience, this would be a very overpriced experience. The staff inside are great. At the entrance I felt they were confrontational. Probably too many people aren’t happy with the pricing vs size ratio or confuse the place with the water park. The prices should definitely reflect the size of the place!
Dessi P — Google review
Excellent aquarium , it takes a couple of hours to walk around , there is a feeding time and talk ( in Spanish) well worth a visit
Malcolm C — Google review
Very nice aquarium. Especially the whale tank. It's very clean and nice. But also it is small. 22 EUR for an adult felt a little bit overpriced, but also the maintenance of it cost a lot. There are feedings with professional explanation twice a day

Fantastic Aquarium Super aquarium very hands on, the kids could put their hands in bowls, etc. This was a great afternoon out. Highly recommended.
Paul V — Google review
Maybe small but have to say very well taken care of. If you fancy aquatic life, fishes and so forth it worth pay a visit. Perhaps a little bit expansive for what you get in return still, as said, I enjoyed it.

Playa de las Salinas, located near the town of Roquetas de Mar, is a popular beach known for its historical association with the San Rafael Salt Flats. The area offers a recently opened short route called Puerta Verde de Roquetas de Mar, providing a peaceful environment for beachgoers, walkers, and cyclists to enjoy without encountering motorized traffic.
Great place, especially because this part of Roquetas de Mar is closer to the Gran Plaza center than La Romanilla or Playa Serena. My kid loved playing in the sand, even in December 🤣🌞🇪🇸❤️

After the storm the beach had more sand rather than pebbles by the sea and not so much of a steep slope into the sea

It's nice here. Parked right opposite the beach, went for a swim and not too cold. A lady passes every day selling veg. Near the street Market, always a pleasant one to visit on a Thursday and very clean and secure and there is a small laundrette as well. Thank you the town for your hospitality.

The beach is great, a very wide and roomy beach with small pebbles. Plenty of space for everyone without it feeling overcrowded. The water is clean and very pleasant to swim in. Some nice restaurants on the beach front 5 minutes away. The only thing we were missing is a changing room/closet, but it wasn't a big deal

During a recent outing with friends, we stumbled upon Royal, and it quickly became a favorite. The atmosphere was inviting, complemented by excellent service from the attentive staff. We were impressed by the diverse drink selection and an array of tapas that were not only delicious but also beautifully presented. Cleanliness is clearly a priority here; even the washrooms sparkled! On another visit with my dog in tow, I experienced exceptional service from Cristina who made us feel right at home.
Friendly staff, great atmosphere, delicious food. Highly recommended from various ages for the quality of food👍🏽

(Translated by Google) Highly recommended place. We ordered the fried fish and the fried meat. We liked the meat one much better; it was super tender and delicious. The fish wasn't bad either, but the fish was heavily battered and you could tell it was frozen. We also ordered a portion of ham and chicken croquettes; the ham ones were much better than the chicken ones. The waitress was very friendly and professional. It's a good option if you're in the area. Day 4

Keep it simple
For day 4, these 6 places should be enough to fill your day with something exciting to do in Roquetas de Mar. Start the day with Punta Entinas-Sabinar and make your way through the city to get to Parque de Los Bajos. This should take about 8 hours of your day.

Parks
Punta Entinas-Sabinar is a serene and picturesque waterfront conservation area that offers breathtaking scenic views, diverse wildlife and a tranquil beach. However, visitors should be aware that the reserve's outskirts are littered with garbage and debris. It is recommended to rent a bicycle to navigate the reserve due to its rough terrain which may damage regular cars. For optimal viewing conditions, four-wheel drives are best suited for visits between mid-March to mid-May.
Great views, amazing waters, horses in the surroundings & exquisite swim.
Walter T — Google review
The beach is beautiful and quiet, 5 stars to that. The rest of the park is full of rubbish that sadly it spoils your experience completely. Could be a lovely spot with a lot of different species of birds, beautiful mountain views etc if the community of Roquetas de mar cared to pay attention to cleaning and the people visiting weren't so ignorant. Also I don't understand how people let dogs run free in an area where birds are nesting, no respect to the nature.
Liisa S — Google review
Really nice nature reserve. I spent a week in a nearby hotel and as a birder, I visited this reserve most days of the week at different times of day. I managed to see species such as Thekla’s Lark, Collared Pratincole, Marbled Duck, Iberian Grey Shrike, Greenshank, Greater Flamingo etc. but I did notice that only certain sections of this very large reserve were reliable for seeing bird life. Just have an explore and you’ll find out which areas are worth spending more time in than others. Even if you don’t see anything, it’s a lovely quiet place to enjoy a walk either way.

Jeff M — Google review
A great place to visit at the right time of year. Since you don't mind all the rubbish and rubble dumped at most of the few good viewing spots I found around the outskirts of the Nature Reserve. Try find a bicycle rental to get around a little easier as you would easily damage a standard car if trying to drive the Reserve any time of year. Would recommend a four wheel drive visit mid March to mid May.

I rode my bike from the camper park to reach Torre De Cerrillos, a historical landmark with a crumbling tower. The journey comprised an easy 8km cycle path followed by a dirt track. Although the tower itself is not visually appealing, it holds significant historical value. The beach nearby is fantastic, offering ample space and tranquility with free parking available. However, there are no amenities provided, so it's essential to bring your own food, drinks, and a sun parasol.
It's interesting to walk the long way. The tower itself is small and very old (can be seen only from outside). The way was kind of cool, for walking or biking. But have water with you. It's a pretty long way and can get hot. I did it (on a sunny day) in winter and still needed water.
Sheida — Google review
It's a derelict tower. The walk to it I've the salt flats natural park was hot but fascinating. The tower itself is a derelict and is not even tall enough to provide any shade. We ended up crowding into the shadow of the nearby memorial before making the walk back. Take plenty of water and don't forget your sunscreen.

Large sandy beach. The sand is not so thin but much better than pebbles. The sea is usually calm and the water is not so cold. The beach is so big that there's always space to get a nice spot close enough to the water. There are kiosks along the beach to have a drink or eat something. The pipi-can, apart from being dwarf, is muddy. Fonts that don't work and look, they've tried to fix and modify them... And they don't stop adding and removing things. Now I remove the trees and I put a little garden, which due to lack of maintenance is in disrepair. What if I now put in a futuristic playground... For what it cost, the state it is in is shameful. And then, the dog poop... I don't understand how there can be such uncivil citizens. Furthermore, you can fix a sign with wood and nails???. An absolutely lovely experience. Table on the beach. Lovely service. Great food. Good value for money. Recommend it to anyone. ❤️

Had a great meal here on the last day of our holiday. Had prawns to start, were huge and very tasty. All had calamari for main, was fresh and tasted good - portions were plentiful. Was able to sit on the beach and enjoy the view. Would suggest the restaurant consider if they really need to charge people for tiny pots or the aioli considering this is a fairly expensive place already, that seemed petty and was the only downer on an otherwise great meal.
D M — Google review
Excellent service, in a very smart clean setting just off the beach. A decent varied menu that is cooked to perfection. We had two lunches here, our small group each had different meals and there were no complaints at all. Staff were friendly, courteous and patient with our language difficulties. Prices are a little higher but well worth it as the meals are fantastic. Very clean toilets. Outdoor seating.

Amazing fish restaurant, right on the beach, and also outside of our hotel. The food was outstanding, cooked fresh and served hot. The service was warm and friendly Would i visit here in the future.... 100 per cent YES

Scenery is beautiful, service is excellent and welcoming, the food, wines and sangría is also worth a visit. Gambas pil pil and paella marisco was made to perfection, super fresh and tasteful. The aioli is one of the best in all the restaurants we tried and you basically just get a very nice experience, no matter if you eat a small dish or go all in with a long night of chilling and eating. Definitely a must see when visiting Roquetas de Mar.

Nice location on the beach, pleasant and friendly service and very good food. Great selection of fresh fish and seafood. We had pulpo a la brasa (barbecued octopus) and lubina a la plancha (grilled sea bass) with grilled Mediterranean vegetables and sautéed potatoes. Absolutely delicious. Highly recommend.

Delivery Restaurant
Di Modena a domicilio is a popular restaurant in Roquetas de Mar, known for its combination of classic Spanish recipes and affordable prices. The restaurant offers a diverse menu featuring traditional options like artisanal pizzas, natural pastas, salads, stuffed peppers, pork skewers, homemade croquettes, snails in sauce, cod loin, chicken breast, pork cheek and more. The establishment also provides an excellent home delivery service.
Best restaurant in Roquetas de Mar! Personnel and staff were so warm and welcoming and the food was so good, that we visited this place 3 times during our 1 week stay. An experience! Muy rica! Ordered spareribs and fois gras and it was beyond excellent. Also pork loin, tenderloin and lamb. The pork just fell of the bones and the 4(!!!) pieces of fois gras did their best accompanied by a beautifully glanced pineapple and sauces. Service was, as mentioned, so friendly and personal, we felt so good and cared for the entire evening. Wine was filtered and oxicated (red), which really made a difference, sangría was smooth and tasteful and the tiramisu was rich and filing. Definitely a place to go to when visiting Roquetas de Mar. Thank you for some great evening(s) (with fair prices). Juán was one of our waiter and he was so good, along with Yonella and Antonio!

Started great. Had fantastic bread with aioli. Great first course, grilled cheese. For main course, I orded beef tenderloin medium/rear. Got it rear. I did send it back and got same peace well done. Did not eat the sauce or side dish, because it was cold. The people I was with did not like their main course also. And the waiters never asked us how our food was. They took it away and when we did say something, they didn't care. Never had so bad service, for so much money in Rockets De Mar before.
Eydís J — Google review
Had a lovely meal in the outside glass covered seating area. The steaks were beautifully grilled as requested followed by some local deserts. Strongly recommend to have some food if you're in the area!!

Best pizza in town. I have tried most pizzerias in Roquetas and Aguadulce and this is by far the best one. Gluten free pizzas are an option and they are really good too. Definitely the best pizzeria in Roquetas.

Bad luck with the lamb: overcoocked and not tasty! See also photo. Mostly we eat here very good and tastefull. Also we let bring food at home and it was fast, warm and very good.
Johan V — Google review
great food and service! The food was so tasty and the desserts were amazing, even offered us a lemon sorbet when paying for the bill. there was AC in the outside seating area so the kids could keep cool in the heat. It would be a 5 star but the kids chicken came out raw, they were quick to fix the problem though.
J — Google review
It's not worth it. Over hyped in reviews. Was outside and there were a bunch of loud delivery scooters from the restaurant coming and going next to us. So i got the monkfish. The dish was 30/70 shrimp/monkfish with a slap of mash potatoes. It's under seasoned and not worth it. Then we order the suckling lamb. Lacked flavour meat for a wood grilled lamb. Large portions though it was over cooked I like my meats 🍖 little red. The squid... the squid was very nice. Very large portion with a lot of grilled vegetables on the side. Can't complain there 👌. The kids' menu was OK. The price reflects its content. Chips are large boats fried possible in the same oil as the fish and reflected in the flavour. Can't complain about the house red. Waiters never asked how we felt even though the lamb was just plucked at. When we approached the waiters, the attitude was poor and no solicity offered. Overall over priced and mediocre...

La Envia Golf Course is a popular destination in Roquetas de Mar, Spain, offering a picturesque and challenging experience for golfers of all levels. With 18 expertly designed holes set against the stunning backdrop of the Sierra de Alhamilla mountains, this course caters to both beginners and experienced players. It's a very exciting course. It goes up and down the hill. The greens were interesting and well-managed.
Choi A — Google review
Excellent greens, very hilly course. We played preferred lies as the fairways were very dry and in places no grass.
George D — Google review
I was first time there today with wife. Course was terrible condition, even buggy was very bad almost w/o brakes and very old. I can't say anything positive all signs, paths, fairways are like nothing has done with those in last 10-20 years. Only greens are playable. Don't even think to go there and play. As owner of La Envia answer to me they did know that course condition is very bad. When I make my reservation they forged to mention that. They only take full payment. That's fair. Also they they didn't mention nothing of buggy paths and signs at their answer. Those problems they have known at least 10-20 years
Osmo R — Google review
Difficult course for most, frankly not much fun! Golf buggies very poorly maintained. One with a flat tyre and the other with dangerous brakes. The cart paths are poorly maintained and absolutely lethal in the wet! Views are spectacular.

Longstay apartments with golf. Great value for money. However the refurbished apartments need more cooking equipment and the freezer door needs to be able to open fully. Excellent beds and the staff on the whole complex were friendly and helpful. The golf course is great but a challenge to play.

18 holes golf course, steep fairways. For those players not in good physical shape, better to drive a buggy. Excellent club house with stunning views from the verandah. Restaurant, bar and pro shop, all golf services covered. Small swimming pool outside. Driving range uphill, approach area, all is up and down at La Envia . Traditionally holding the most attended golf school in Almeria, you will see plenty of kids on weekends.

Very helpful lifeguards when I was stung by a jellyfish. Key tip - go straight to the lifeguards who can treat you effectively - do not shower if you get stung. Lots of bars to choose from. Lovely Marina at one end of the beach where as well as an array of yachts you'll see plenty of fish. The beach gets very crowded on hot weekends in the Summer. So, if you don't like sharing the beach with other people, look for alternatives. Difficult to find parking in peak times (unless you go to the car park in the Marina).

Los Sánchez Tavern is a delightful tapas establishment offering a diverse selection of dishes, accompanied by reasonably priced beverages. Although it becomes extremely busy after 9pm, resulting in queues, the wait is definitely worthwhile. This venue boasts an excellent ambiance and an extensive menu that has garnered consistent praise from patrons over multiple visits. The service may be slower than expected, but if you have time to spare, this is the perfect spot to indulge in delectable food.
There was no plan to stop here to eat. We had spent the day shopping and were on our way back to our motorhome pretty hungry. Passing this restaurant we noticed it was buzzing and that the menu board was on the footpath advertising a menu del dia. The choices looked really good. We probably got the last 2 seats in the whole restaurant. The waiter was very friendly and was very patient with us choosing our menu. A large plate of tuna salad was placed on the table. We thought it was a mistake as it wasn't mentioned on the menu board but it was part of the meal. First course. My wife had the calamari soup. She really loved it as it was tasty and had her favourite fish. I had the black rice. It had shellfish and prawns. First time having this dish and it was really good. Second course. My wife had the meatballs and french fries. The meatballs were soft and very good. I had the beef in garlic and french fries. The meat was tender and the sauce was really nice. Desert We skipped desert and had an americano and a cortado to finish Two glasses of wine were also provided as refreshments. This stop was one of those nice surprises. The atmosphere was great and the food was good. Twelve euro each paid by bank card.

Located on a back road in aguadulce is this great little tapas place. When we were there it was full of locals , which is always a good sign. It's €2 for an extra tapas. We had 5 small dishes four drinks and a massive tasting platter dessert for €27. We were both full after. The tasting platter consisted of red velvet cake, chocolate cake, candy floss, fried ice cream, sweets, waffers, loads of cream and chocolate sauce. Really recommend you try it, it's enough for four people. Great value and atmosphere. Waiters spoke good enough English and they even had a menu in English too which is rare for aguadulce. Would defo go back. Highly recommended.

Very disappointing, this used to be one of the best tapas bars in the area. The food was average, the service not particularly friendly. People used to queue up to get in here, while we were there one couple had one drink and only one other table was occupied. Shame!

Quirky, humorous, and above all, excellent, Stilo Campo in Aguadulce/ Roquetas is one of the best tapas restaurants in Europe. They open at 1pm,by which time there is a queue for tables - it's worth arriving about 10 to and standing (no you can't sit before they open). By 1:30 the first people have sat down and the queue is long again - people love it so much! The waiters and attentive, kind, and helpful. They're flamboyant and humorous (one bowed low to the pigeons strolling in front of customers, before bowing to the customers and placing them at a table),and serve tapas including the flambé with alacrity. The food is so excellent there's no real way to describe it. So to repeat : get there early and expect to queue, and it's the very best

Great place with lovely food! Celebrated my mothers birthday here. We had such a great time! The food is fantastic and staff very friendly. See you soon! Greetings from Holland.

Busy place (22:00 on a tuesday) with a lot of inventive tapas options. Less so for vegetarians and for a vegan even fewer. Enjoyed the tempura egg plants and spinach crepe Friendly service and laid back atmosphere.

I was recommended still Campo so I walked from the other side of Aguadulce to visit, have a beer and try a tapa I arrived just before it opened at 8 and sat down very thirsty after a long walk. I am writing this review at 8-15. The waiters have been putting tables out and cleaning them for 15 mins and have not even acknowledged me. I will not be staying. I will also not be coming tomorrow with my family. There are 13 of us. Atrocious service.

What you've read is true... amazing and varied tapas and it's super popular with queues most days we were in town... but for overall experience taberna pepa just edges it for me... try them both (and several of the others nearby) and make up your own mind

Pizza restaurant
Pizzeria VENECIA is a hidden gem that may require a slight detour, but it's definitely worth the visit. While waiting for your pizza to be ready for takeout, you can enjoy their excellent coffee and soak in the pleasant atmosphere with reclaimed euro-pallet tables. Surprisingly, despite its remote location, the place remains bustling.
I love food here! Top super luxury Fabada, yummy black pizza and perfect pasta. The guy serving is part of a perfectly professional service staff

A bit out of the way but worth it. We ordered to go but had a drink there while waiting for the pizza to be ready. Very good coffee, nice atmosphere (nice tables made with reclaimed euro-pallets) - but not deserted as you would imagine due to the placement. I am told it is owned by italians - that makes sense, the pizza is good although it has some local twists, like using semicurado for the some of the cheese based ones. All in all, recommended.

Excellent real Italian food. Run by its owner who is very welcoming. The egg plant Parmesan is sublime . Very close to several electric car recharging stations which is handy also.

Nice place and the staff are helpful. I only had breakfast, but I was served politely and what I had was nice.
