No, you can't expect something sophisticated like in the Hong Kong International Airport or Changi International Airport here - nothing like that. Tambolaka is a simple airport to cater not-so-many flights per day but hey - I didn't have anything to complain here - they did everything properly here (at least this is what I felt when I was around). When I first landed in this airport - the air was quite hot and perhaps the Aircond in the arrival lounge was not that cool (but to me it was okay), the conveyor belt of the bagage was so simple. But hey - I didn't lose any of my bagage here - it was safe enough, don't worry about it. The officers were nice, they're quite welcome. On departure - they have a proper Aircond lounge - even it's quite hot outsied but you will feel convenient waiting here to board the airplane. It was a clean and properly managed airport so don't worry too much on it - feel worry-free to come here :)

Not a good idea to leave your car at this airport parking lot. All the air from the 4 tires of my SUV was released. A good soul helped us to go find a compressor. Not sure if there is any security around to do patroling around the parking lot. First time experincing this at an airport.

Small (part of the charm), not very comfortable, many flights delayed or cancelled (especially Wings), not capable to have reliable information on screens despite having to manage 10 flights per day. Flight delayed more than 2H but decide not to board flights so that officials can brag about new lines openings 😒

Terrible airport service. We booked with wingsair, they charger us 2.000.000 for 1 boardbag with 2 pieces. Such a disgrace they don’t mention it on their website. Even after mailing with them they couldn’t give me a price until they pick your pockets at the airport. Beware if you come here that you will pay so much for everything here. Apart from that, beautiful country.

A small airport but quite comfortable. Bigger and nicer than Umbu Mehang Kunda Airport in Waingapu (Sumba Timur). The runway is longer so that a big airplane like Garuda could takes off and land here. The arrival lounge is air conditioned with restrooms at the corner. The ladies restroom has three rooms, but has problem on the door lock in each room (the door lock doesn’t function well). I heard that some guests were locked when using this facility. The waiting room is full air-conditioned and quite spacious with comfy sofas and also a restroom but has the same problem on the door lock. Outside the building, you can find cafeterias that will serve you foods and drinks, also snacks. A spacious parking area but very hot as there is no big trees around. The authority should plant some trees here to reduce the heat. The good thing is that the staffs are friendly and helpful. They do the work properly to serve the customers/guests.

Small but very comfortable airport. Better than the airport in Waingapu (East Sumba). The waiting room provides comfortable seats and sofa, fully air-conditioned. The airport lacks shops that sell local souvenirs and delicacies.

small and clean airport. usually landed to this place before continue flight to kupang. as the weather is dry and no high building around, you can see the clear bright sky. do not expect for the good connection or wifi or other provider except telkomsel

Small airport in West Sumba area. No AC inside the airport, fan only.

Komodo International Airport

International airport
Airport
Regional airport
Komodo Airport, situated in Labuan Bajo, Indonesia, is a newly constructed airport named after the nearby Komodo Island. It has recently opened to the public post-Covid-19 and is set to host the 2023 ASEAN Summit. The airport offers comfortable waiting areas with work desks and charging stations. Additionally, it provides clean and well-maintained facilities including restrooms with automated sensors.
The airport is clean and organized with a lot of friendly staff, especially the people cleaning the bathroom deserve special mention for their dedication to work and their helpful nature. The security personnel, including the ones at the security gates, were also nice and friendly people. The cafes are good, the view of the nature from the airport is so good. There are some shopping stores selling komodo merchandise which is reasonably priced. I especially liked the stuffed toy version of the Komodo dragon which seem like a great gift for kids. One of the best small airports that I visited.

Simple and easy airport, not sure if it's the day I chose to travel was not busy, or if it's just not busy in general. Arrival was very straightforward as I got in from a domestic flight, and there were only 2 belts to pick up the baggage. Some shops around for phone sim, exchange $, tour and rides all available. I took a ride from one of those random people offering 70k to do the 10 - 15-minute ride distance. I don't know the price in general, but grab with a bike was 19k, and no car was available, so it wouldn't work out for me as I had a luggage. It may be a fair price, or it may be overpriced. Either way, it was reasonable for me. Departure was a bliss as well, no clear signs of counters for check-in, but I saw the lion group sign, so I went for it as my flight was with Batik. I came about 2 hrs before my flight, and the airport was emptied than expected. I just kept walking till the end of the path and arrived at the gate 1-2, which seems to be the domestic flights. I see an immigration gate, but there are no staff stations there, so I guess it's not often to have flights going international from here . The problem is that there is only a verbal announcement for boarding. The monitor and signs are not available. The announcement wasn't clear, so many passengers are confused if it's their boarding process for the flight. Security was also an issue, I witnessed someone purposely going through gate 1 to board a flight at gate 2, bypassing the boarding pass check... no one stopped him till he reached the flight

The airport don’t open until 7am so best not to head too early as shops are still close even when we started going in at 7am. Find decent coffee nearer to the departure waiting area.

Hello, it's a small but manageable airport. When you're at baggage claim, you'll be offered a taxi to the city center for 70k Rp, but as soon as you walk through the door, you can get one for 60k Rp. However, if you walk out the door, turn left, and walk past the barrier, you can get a taxi for 50k Rp without any problems (maybe even 40k Rp).

Komodo International Airport (LBJ) ,The Gateway to Paradise Komodo International Airport (LBJ) is a remarkably pleasant and efficient small airport that serves as a beautiful gateway to the wonders of Komodo National Park and Flores Island. Given its remote location, the modern and thoughtful design of the terminal is a genuinely delightful surprise for most travelers. Modern and Clean Terminal:The airport features a relatively new, modern, and impeccably clean terminal. The architecture often incorporates local East Nusa Tenggara cultural elements, providing a warm and welcoming sense of place immediately upon arrival. Efficiency and Ease of Navigation: As a smaller hub, it is refreshingly simple to navigate. Check-in and security procedures are generally quick, making for a stress-free start or end to your trip. Travelers frequently praise the smooth, uncomplicated flow through the airport. Friendly Staff: Reviewers consistently mention the excellent, friendly service from the airport staff, from security personnel to those working at the small shops and cafes. Gateway Location: The airport's greatest asset is its proximity to Labuan Bajo town (just a short drive) and, by extension, the world-class attractions of Komodo, Padar Island, and the famed Pink Beach. It truly feels like the first step of an incredible adventure. Improved Connectivity: Recent expansions to the runway and facilities have made it accessible to larger jet aircraft (like the Boeing 737/Airbus A320 series) and have opened up more direct routes from major hubs like Jakarta, Bali (Denpasar), and even limited international flights, greatly enhancing convenience. In summary, LBJ offers a surprisingly polished and welcoming experience, setting the perfect tone for a trip to one of Indonesia's most unique natural destinations.

The small airport is good enough for the number of international and domestic flights. Staff are friendly and immigration is smooth. No complaints. There are many porters willing to help you with your luggages at a fee. There are quite a few cafes and restaurants in the transit area to pass time waiting for the plane to arrive.

Pros: Well organized, clean and air conditioned. Nice staff and security. New modern building. Cons: very limited food options, no wifi the "business lounge" is just a seating area not sure what the point of it is definitely a waste of space that should be repurposed. No beer or drinks. Have to go through 2 security checks for an intl flight. Once in Intl gate area no services whatsoever no water no bathrooms not great if you have a delayed flight
Chris J — Google review
Only has Indonesian food and cafes. Could do with at least 1 international café. Small and convenient. No need to arrive more than an hour before the flight.

Sultan Muhammad Salahuddin Airport (BMU)

Airport
Bima Airport is a small, but more well maintained then the typical domestic airport. Staff is professional and helpful. You feel welcome and safe. Facilities are clean and waiting area has enough room. You can get here from Denpasar and some more domestic Indonesian airports. In all an inviting arrival and departure gate to and from Bima.

BEWARE OF THE TAXI MAFIA! The taxi system from the airport is controlled by the gentleman working at the taxi desk in the baggage reclaim hall whose sole ambition is to rip off tourists. Currently, it’s the only way to get any ride from the airport so best bet is to find other people on the aircraft going to your destination and split the fare.
Luke J — Google review
Very small but it currently under construction to build a bigger airport. Few facilities apart from mushola and toilets.
Budi F — Google review
Clean and chill boarding room Has no toilet in boarding room Toilets were randomly dirty Security check point was not so tight
Joe B — Google review
It’s a small airport with a couple of simple food places out the front. Clean and efficient. I had a small issue about paying excess baggage but that was not the airports fault. More a problem with Lion Air ticketing .
Jeremy K — Google review
Excellence in giving tolerance for passengers who's exceeding the boarding time limit. Good hospitality to take care passengers' baggage. Even most extra baggages are not charged unless necessary. They are improving their services and facilities even though they are small airport. Keep up the awesome works 👍👍

Bima island has a potential power to be developed so I visited here to develop a business. The airport is small but all staffs were so kind. I had a great time with some Indonesian people in this airport.
