Little Italy

$$$$affordable
Northern Italian restaurant
Little Italy is a cozy and popular Italian restaurant that has been owned and operated by the Ceresa family from Torino, Italy since 2000. The restaurant offers an extensive menu of homemade dishes, including squid ink pasta, mushroom ravioli, lasagne, and tiramisu. The food is known for being good with a comfortable environment and reasonable prices. It's also Muslim-friendly as it does not serve alcohol or any non-halal ingredients.
They are the best Italian restaurant in town serving authentic Italian cuisines. The prices listed in the menu are within the reasonable range with high quality dishes. The staffs are friendly and attentive. Overall environment is enjoyable. Highlight: Their Tiramisu is a must try item.

Read the rave reviews and went in looking forward to an authentic italian experience. Ordered carbonara with fresh pasta and it was far from authentic. An Italian pasta place that cannot do carbonara right is a fail to me. No egg yolk, cream was used instead. Sauce was too thin to hold flavours and the bacon ham was lazily done. Could not finish my plate of pasta, if was that bad. Enjoyed the salad thoroughly, garlic bread was passable. Disappointing experience.
Sharon — Google review
Visited Kota Kinabalu for a work trip with my bosses and finally got the chance to try Little Italy, a spot my boss had been wanting to try for some time. I made a dinner reservation for all of us, and it turned out to be a great choice. The restaurant was within walking distance from our hotel — very convenient and easy to locate. The staff were friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better. We ordered the Caesar salad, mushroom soup of the day, beef lasagna (for me), bolognese pasta (for Amalina), and shared a plate of tomato bruschetta. Surprisingly, the food was really good — we couldn’t compare it to Italy itself, of course, but it definitely satisfied our cravings. The only downside was the humidity inside the restaurant. It’s an open-concept space with air-conditioning, but no windows — combined with the brick oven used for pizzas, it made the place quite warm. All in all, good food, great location, and helpful service — just be prepared for a bit of heat if you're visiting during the evening!
Nor S — Google review
Always my preferred Pizza when I visit KK, the foods was well presented and tasty, nice enviroment as well.
WONG H — Google review
Dining at Little Italy has always been a must-do for me everytime I visit Sabah from the first time I ever came here many years ago. The atmosphere is one that is homey, loud, vibrant yet welcoming. The staff have always produced good, consistent and quick service for all customers. Down to the food, the dishes here may not be the most fancy or presentable, but they always get the job done which is to taste fantastic. The raviolis have been my favourite all this time, and their bread rolls are always famtastic. While I do feel their pizzas are slightly lacking in flavour and texture, I do feel they are still decent. Furthermore, it does help that they have added several new items to their menu recently. One of these items, the polpette, I did try on my recent visit and it was really amazing. The meat inside was soft and every bite produced a burst of flavour. I love that the beef balls had a sort of skin or outer layer rather than simply being one clump of minced meat. To end things off, I finished with a really lovely chocolate mousse that had just the right consistency. Overall, Little Italy did not disappoint as always and I will definitely be back here again on my next visit!
Zaki — Google review
We had an amazing experience "lunch-ing" at Little Italy. Every dish we tried was full of flavour and cooked to perfection. The Al Nero Di Seppia had that rich squid ink (something that you cannot see everyday) taste that seafood lovers will appreciate , while the Amatriciana and Alfredo Spaghetti were creamy, comforting, and satisfying. The Zuppa di Mare was a standout – fresh, hearty, and packed with seafood. We also enjoyed the Cannelloni di Zucca e Pollo, which had a nice balance of sweetness from the pumpkin and savoury chicken filling. Lastly, the Crespelle al Forno was warm, cheesy, and hit all the right notes. Definitely a must-visit spot in KK if you're craving authentic Italian cuisine. Great food, cozy atmosphere, and excellent service.
Johnson S — Google review
Nestled in KK, this restaurant, introduced by a local, exudes an authentic Italian charm, a legacy of its original Italian owner. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the exquisite beef ravioli. The freshness of the Rivioli was evident in every bite, and the array of available sauces allowed for a truly personalized culinary experience. Flipping through their colorful and inviting menu felt like a delicious dilemma – I wanted to sample everything! While the prices lean towards the higher side, the quality and uniqueness of the offerings suggest it's an investment in a memorable meal. The promise of many more visits to explore the entire menu is already on my mind. Their refreshing peach tea was a delightful accompaniment, perfect for a post-meal stroll around KK. However, it was the unexpected combination of Pizza with anchovies, pineapple, and ham that truly stole the show. This bold and surprisingly harmonious blend has earned a special place as my first and foremost favorite. Adding to the overall positive experience was the exceptional service provided by the kind and patient waiter, a true testament to genuine hospitality. This restaurant isn't just about food; it's about an immersive Italian experience, well worth the occasional splurge.
Vinsen C — Google review
I have only decided to try this because it was raining so hard and I don’t want to go out of my way from the hotel I am staying (Hotel Capital) just to look for dinner. Didn’t expect much after reading some negative reviews but I was surprised that they actually have a really good pasta. The creamy carbonara really suits my taste and the serving is very generous. They offer both quality and quantity. Worth the price.

Welcome Seafood Restaurant

Seafood restaurant
Restaurant
Welcome Seafood Restaurant is a popular eatery with multiple locations in Kota Kinabalu, including one in Inanam. With over 8,000 Google reviews, it's known for serving the freshest seafood like fish, crabs, prawns, clams, oysters, and sea snails prepared in various ways. The restaurant is always bustling with hungry customers eager to savor their delicious offerings.
June 2025 Revisit this place due to our previous dining experience a couple years ago. Great selection of seafood and some choices will sold out on a busy day. Their signature dishes are wonderfully prepared. This is a large operation restaurant and well executed. Grouper was good. Shell fish was delicious. Crab ok. Samba veggie was outstanding. My rating 5 as very satisfied Taste 5/5 Temperature 4/5 Attentiveness and courteous 4/5 Cleanliness 3/5 this is just part of the environment Speed of service 3/5 one of our tofu dishes arrived very late, we almost finished our dinner and wondering did they forget our order. Will I revisit? Yes Will I recommend? Yes.

We had a very nice dinner at Welcome Seafood Restaurant in Kota Kinabalu, and it certainly delivered on its promise of fresh, flavorful seafood. The clams were simply gorgeous, and the tiger prawns were equally delicious — cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The kids especially enjoyed the lobster and the noodles, which were both rich in taste and generously served. The menu offers a wide variety of seafood options, making it a great spot for anyone looking to enjoy a true seafood feast in KK. The atmosphere was lively, service was efficient, and the overall value was excellent. If you’re in Kota Kinabalu and craving seafood, this place achieves exactly what it sets out to do.
Purple K — Google review
The Welcome Seafood Restaurant is absolutely massive, spanning an entire building block. Seating is available indoors and outdoors, with some spaces being airconditioned and others cooled by fans. You select your food prior to being seated, aided by a board that shows you photographs of the array of available dishes. Reassuringly, the food isn't frozen, because once a dish has sold out, it gets taken off the menu. Although they sell chicken dishes, we stuck with, and were really impressed by, the freshness of the seafood. The stir fried seafood noodles were particularly good, as were the softshell crab and dry butter prawns. The friendliness of the staff, cleanliness of the tables, and quality of the food all contributed to making eating here a real pleasure.
Richard W — Google review
Visited for two consecutive nights — excellent seafood experience in KK! On our first visit, we tried their signature crab with special sauce. The sauce was rich and flavorful, but the crab itself was average — decent meat quality, though not as thick and firm as Sri Lankan crab, and the shell was a bit soft. We ordered tiger prawns on both nights — large ones the first night, medium-sized the second. Personally, I loved the butter prawns — perfectly seasoned, creamy, and fragrant. The garlic prawns were also delicious. The prawns were definitely fresher and tastier than the crab — highly recommended! We also tried their large clams: the first night cooked in soup, the second stir-fried with garlic. Both were outstanding — fresh, plump, and full of natural sweetness. Another must-try dish is the salt and pepper squid — tender, crispy, and well-seasoned without being overly salty. Overall, the seafood quality at Da Jia Lai Seafood Restaurant is impressive, with reasonable prices and a huge dining area that spans almost an entire street. There’s both air-conditioned indoor seating and outdoor tables to choose from. Staff are polite and attentive. If you’re in KK, this place is definitely worth a visit!

Had a very enjoyable dinner at Welcome Seafood Restaurant in Kota Kinabalu. The seafood is fresh, flavorful, and served in generous portions. We especially liked the squid , prawns and crabs, which were well-prepared, while the vegetables added a nice balance to the meal. The restaurant offers a wide selection of seafood dishes, so there’s something for everyone. Service was generally attentive, The atmosphere is lively and bustling, which adds to the charm, but it can feel slightly crowded. Prices are reasonable for the quality and variety offered. Overall, a great spot for seafood lovers in KK — definitely worth a visit.

Let's start with the food first... 1. Red grouper steam in special sauce - the sauce overpowered the fish, didn't taste any freshness 2. Deep fry squid - crunchy, not bad 3. Crab dry butter milk - Nicely done, it's nice 4. Prawn Kam Heong - Prawns are fresh, nice 5. Clam soup - Watery, not much fresh seafood taste 6. Seafood tofu - quite bland by itself 7. Mongolian chicken - Nice, fry crisply 8. Stir fry vege - Just normal There is a paid parking within the complex. Customer service and establishment hygiene is ok. Overall it's ok but nothing extraordinary.

Food was nice. I usually made prior booking vi la their what apps number. I spoke to Ms Ching. If you want to come here, you can book directly to her, check my photo for the number. Depends on ur budget, I usually tell her how much is my budget. Example, I have rm200 for dinner 3pax, she will suggest me what food I can order. So far I always satisfy with her selection. The selection include steam prawn, white clam soups, fuyong dan because my son love eggs, kamhiong crab, siakap or kerapu fish, and veggies. Then sides order will be the coconut water and Chinese ping (not include in the rm200). So bear in mind, the more varieties of drinks u order, the more expensive it will be. So the best is just order Chinese tea ping. I hope this will help u as a beginner. But if u have lots of money , no worries u can order all types of seafood they have. Then, the things i think they should improve is… the customer service. I do understand it’s a busy restaurant , some staffs are dedicated but last time im facing this 1 lady who try to avoid from customer, she seems lazy. Maybe she should resign and stay home and just sleep. Overall this restaurant is nice. I like this restaurant . I just hope they will improve the services and the toilet too. Omg the toilet is horrible! Please improve it by at least clean it consistently and make sure the floor is always drive and smells good. I haven’t check the kitchen.. but I’m scared to check because I’m sure it’s smell fishy . But remember, clean restaurant will never smell fishy. Donald trump says, if the restaurant door is dirty, means the kitchen is also dirty. But I would say if the toilet is dirty, 💯the kitchen is faulty too. So becareful with what u eat if you have sensitive stomach. Ok bye.

Seafood Restaurant… that serves Fresh Fish 🐟 , Lobsters 🦞, Prawn and Shell Fish. All the different types are good. BBQ is off for me as the fish was cooked and then BBQ with chilli sauce. ( only 1 side has the samba chilli) Totally different from standard BBQ. Tea was good and rest is history.

El Centro is a vibrant Mexican-themed restaurant and bar located in Kota Kinabalu, offering a laid-back atmosphere to enjoy good food, drinks, and 90s tunes. The menu features a variety of Mexican dishes like tacos, burritos, nachos, quesadillas, and fajitas as well as burgers, sandwiches, and pizzas. Classic cocktails such as margaritas and mint juleps are available at affordable prices.
Went on a lovely lunch date with my mom at El Centro, and we had such a great time! We started with their homemade nachos, which were really good—crispy, fresh, and full of flavor. For the mains, I had the Hawaiian pizza, and it was absolutely delicious—perfectly baked with a great balance of sweet and savory flavors. My mom had the salad wrap, and she loved it! It was fresh, light, and packed with tasty ingredients. Overall, the food was amazing, and the cozy atmosphere made the experience even better. Definitely a great spot for a casual and delicious meal!

Fantastic lunch! We had loaded chicken fries and lamb kofta plus cocktails. Was a lovely experience and the waiter was so polite, very attentive and was helpful with dietary restrictions. Cocktails also very good and strong tasting! Came back for more dinner and cocktails as the food, drinks and service were so good! Highly recommend and also GLUTEN FREE options available!

The food was Ahhmazing! I had chicken, cranberry and blue cheese panini. Ooof. The flavors were bomb. Super yummy. Hummus was so authentic. Texture was perfect, maybe it was hand mashed. 👌 My friend had Ultimate Veggie panini. Ordinary ingredients but tasted extraordinary.

This place probably has one of the best mexican foods in kk. I love their burritos, tacos and especially their nachos. I ALWAYS go back for their nachos because i lovveeee how the chips taste. They dont use those chachos chips you can get from the store i think they probably use real nachos chips and its so good even on its own. I always go back here!

Went there during the afternoon and I can say it's the best time to dine if you're looking for a quiet space. Their Beef Quesadilla is topnotch.Mojito made by Nana is great. It taste the same as the one usually had in my home country. Definitely worth a try if you're looking for Mexican food. ❤️

Food here is LIT especially the tacos n pizza, we ordered the minced beef and steak mix tacos as well as CCB pizza, both taste so unique and so different than other tacos n pizza that I ever had bfor. We ordered the beetroot juice too, changed my stereotype on how beetroot would taste, it's refreshing, natural sweet, and good source of fibre. Really recommend this place for dinner or night out, the atmosphere vibes so well, good place for gathering w friends and family.
Lex T — Google review
Came super early for a Saturday breakfast and ordered the pulled steak with rice and 3 beans burrito with ice latte. I was actually surprised to be served with a sweet ice latte as normally ice latte is served without sugar. The waitress was kind enough to replace it for me as I told her I didn't specify no sugar as normally latte is served without sugar. However, the replaced ice latte was a bit disappointing as I couldn't taste much of the coffee, too bland.
Steph — Google review
I didn’t get to try the tacos because I was too full. They don’t have Taco Tuesday, but the drinks were good, and the service was great. They accept credit cards here. Nice atmosphere!

Really want to thank you to the tonight service crews and chefs. Food was really yummy and my girlfriend really loves the mash potatoes, it was superb creamy and soft. The foods are really home cooked style but i really like it. The foods here are worth the price. Portion was big and huge too. Thank you for making our anniversary & Christmas dinner pleasant and wonderful. And thank you for making our tummy big and filled too 🫂 She's giving 9/10 for everything. And i am giving 11/10. Don’t be fooled by the emptyness of their table, the food served is decent and worth your money 👍🏽✨ Thank you Chilli Vanilla ✨❤️

HEAVENLY. Thats one word that explains my dish for tonight. Never have I ever tasted chicken corden bleu that has suuper tender chicken, not almost burnt on the outside, very flavourful and very runny cheese and believe me when I say I tasted countless chicken corden bleus. Thank you thank you thank you for letting my taste buds dance. Definitely recommended! Staff were very friendly and please give compliments to the chef. The atmosphere is very homie and cozy.

If you like European food, I would highly recommend this restaurant. It offers a variety of options for vegetarians, as well as freshly squeezed juices. The service is friendly and efficient.
Dominique — Google review
Beef goulash is excellent albeit localized. Only complain is not enough. The wrap is so so. The malaysian Sibu beer is not good. Chef is from Hungary. Will come again
Sziang S — Google review
Definitely 5 stars!! The service was great!! The food was fantastic with excellent flavors. The aroma when I was walking by got me to come and look at the menu. Especially because it's the only Hungarian restaurant in Malaysia. Cauliflower soup is delicious, Hungarian beef goulash....yummy. it also comes with mash potatoes, and I also started with hummus and veggies. Skander, my server, was great and really friendly, good customer. I would definitely recommend this place it was really good and delicious. Thank you!

Ordered Hungarian Chicken Special which had Grilled Chicken Breast topped with melted cheese and mushroom. With boiled potatoes. Chicken was juicy and well seasoned, potatoes was soft and well seasoned too. It was a gluten free meal. Atmosphere wise, it was noisy as its beside roadside. No AC was on but it had fan and it was airy enough. Chef seems like is from Hungary. Pretty authentic meal.

Yee Fung Laksa

$$$$affordable
Chinese restaurant
Yee Fung Laksa is a renowned restaurant in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, known for its delicious laksa and beef noodle soup. The beef broth served with flat noodles, beef slices, tripe, stomach, tendon, and more has a smooth and clear texture with a strong beefy flavor. While the laksa is not very spicy compared to typical Southeast Asian dishes, it offers a unique taste and consistency. The restaurant provides quick service in an open and airy setting.
The Laksa king is actually very nice! Huge servings and very reasonable price. There is a very long queue but the staff are very organized and very hospitable so there is no chaos in the store. The staff are super friendly and the food is very good. Definitely a 5/5 and would highly recommended specially their Laksa King!
Josh — Google review
Well organised systematic Cafe with great food and even better Kaya! Best kaya i have ever tasted. Smoky and good flavour of caramelised brown sugar.
Joan L — Google review
My family and I really enjoyed the laksa. It was mildly spicy and flavourful. The broth was thick and rich and absolutely tickled our palates. We also ordered kaya toast and it must be one of the tastiest ones I’ve had. However, the ngau chap noodles was somewhat disappointing and tasted watered-down. It unfortunately brought down the dining experience at Yee Fung Laksa a few notches. Nonetheless, we had an enjoyable time and would highly recommend this place to anyone who’s in Sabah for a visit.
Candice C — Google review
Local specialty laksa. (And to be clear, the laksa is not the same as what you get in Singapore or Penang). The version here has a distinct curry flavor and deeper umami. Lines may be long but very efficient. There is a regular serving and "King" serving size, with the latter having shell on large prawns (vs smaller prawns). Fresh and flavorful, but you decide if you want to peel by hand! The chili sauce on the side is very nice too. Wash it all down with a iced preserved lemon or plum drink.
Paul C — Google review
One of the best noodle always here if visited this place, plus their price is reasonable too. Food is consider good as well. Just that sometime there is long line of people waiting for table, but can see they are very good in organizing it included advance order and very quick serve your food.
David ( — Google review
Came here to try their laksa and it didnt disappoint! Though its not very hot and noodle portion is abit small. Their fish ball was OK but the dry noodles was cooked too long as its soft and mushy. Place is quite packed with people so you might need to queue depending on the time you visit. Staffs here are very friendly and you will need to order at the counter.
Chen — Google review
The laksa soup was okay, but I was a bit disappointed with the prawns. I ordered the larger prawns, but unfortunately, they weren’t fresh. I was expecting fresher seafood in Sabah! The beverage was good though…sorry, I forgot the name! Hahahha
Tracy A — Google review
Came here because of the high ratings. Came here for breakfast. Super crowded. The laksa is acceptable but not the best. Felt like the soup is quite diluted. Not flavourful. Fishball is great. Overwhelmed by the extremely efficient and fast service. Shop has AC but due to the hot weather it feels like no AC. So hot that we had to leave immediately after as it’s too humid.

Laundroluxe is making a name for itself as a dual-purpose establishment, combining a modern laundromat with a dining area that serves casual brunch and formal meals. The restaurant offers an array of dishes, from stir-fried noodles to spaghetti bolognese, all served in a clean and presentable space. Customers can enjoy the unique experience of dining while their laundry is being taken care of. The restaurant provides silver service dinner standards with well-presented and tasty Italian-style pasta meals.
Unique dining experience with silver service dinner standard. The dishes we ordered were Italian style pasta meals. The meals were tasty and well presented. The table service was of a high standard. We would definitely eat there again and have no hesitation recommending the restaurant. The unique part is that the restaurant has a glass dividing wall which separates the restaurant from a working laundromat. Yes that’s correct a laundromat. The premises are very clean.

My boyfriend and I came here for breakfast due to the good reviews we saw, and the place was as amazing as people said: they serve delicious food and staff are really polite and friendly. They even do the laundry for you! Everything at a very reasonable price, with a wide variety of options. We loved this place so much that we came 2 more times, one for dinner and another day for breakfast. Don't miss it!

Quality has went way down within a year. Ordered few dishes, cocktails and they were way way too sweet to consume. They messed up the fries, too. My brother ordered the kueh combo and it does not taste good or anything remotely close to Malaysian kueh. It’s not a 1 star because the staff are great! Cozy restaurant, great location. I do hope you improve your food and drinks quality.

Laundroluxe is unique concept cafe located at the heart of Api-Api Centre. As the name suggest, they provide laundry services while patrons enjoy a wide variety of Western and Local fare. With laundry or not, the scrumptious offering of their menu is enough to entice me to have a visit. Great place for a get-together over a cuppa too.

Gorgeous and a simple yet classy place; perfect for dates or catching up with old friends after work. Its a little pricey but definitely worth the plate and atmosphere. Go for dinner and desserts. The laundry service is a cute touch.

The seafood is fresh. The grouper (locally bred) has a unique name - 龙虎斑. The fish was first steamed, and then the delicious sauce was added to it. Not sure what the vegetables were called, but it was really good!

The area of the hotel is enormous like a mini airport! We were able to check in at 12:00am instead of 3:00 pm. All thanks to the female stuff called “Treanya” (so sorry that I forgot her name.) This kid-friendly stuff also upgrade our room from a single bed to double beds for free! Anyways, the room and the environment was perfect and there were guitar performance during dinner as well. Last but not least, there were nice shops with different kinds of hand-made souvenirs and local snacks but REMEMBER TO BRING CARD, not cash because they do not accept cash!

The food was great and delicious. We were served by Sue and she was kind enough to recommend a dish that me and my mom enjoyed a lot. The view was very amazing too as shown below and the sunset was very dazzling. Thanks to the cooks and Sue!

The Chef and the wait staff did a fantastic job. I had some dietary requirements and it was managed very well by Sue Chong and 2 different days for lunch. Both my dishes were top notch and made a positive difference to my stay. I would highly recommend this place to my Aussie mates!

Fook Yuen Cafe & Bakery-Gaya Street

Mentioned on
1 list
$$$$affordable
Chinese restaurant
Fook Yuen Cafe & Bakery-Gaya Street is a popular spot in Kota Kinabalu known for its delicious coffee and bread. The cafe offers a variety of freshly baked pastries and bread, with the Roti Kahwin being a standout item. Open from early morning until midnight, it's a great place to grab breakfast or supper. The fluffy and soft white bread with butter and kaya is particularly recommended.
Discovered this lovely local gem while walking along Gaya St. This is definitely one of our KK favs. Simple but wholesome local kopitiam food without glam (hence at great prices) and perfectly brewed local iced-coffee! Please stop by!

this is another place that we're recommended by a local but found it not too right for us. their signature siu mai was only a steamed meat ball, the laksa was flat and others just so-so. kaya toast should have more kaya jam. the special tea that i got was OK. i think it's really a casual local restaurant but without any sparkling items.
Giami L — Google review
The space is not bad, and it is located on Gaya Street in the city center, close to the post office. There are many shops opposite, and there are many gifts. It is a good place to take time to stroll around. I think the food is okay, - generally。

Visited this place because it was highly recommended by many YouTubers. The roti kahwin (kaya butter toast) tasted quite ordinary, not something worth making a special trip for. The toast looked nicely browned but wasn’t warm, and the kaya and butter portions were just average. Other dishes, like the fried noodles and porridge, felt more like a 2 star hotel breakfast. The environment was quite noisy, and the number-calling bell kept ringing nonstop, it felt like an impatient girlfriend calling repeatedly. Overall, it’s good to experience once, but not worth revisiting again.

Laksa can order over the counter but incomparable with Sibu & Kuching Sarawak laksa. Fried noodle/bihun/rice can order from self service counter. Kaya butter Bread toast can order over the counter and you could get additional fried egg, luncheon meat over the self service counter to make your own customized sandwich.

This has to be the worst food I had in KK, Sabah. The chicken tastes really salty and the rice is bland even it look thick in picture. About ABC ice, the Lychee has a sour taste to it, just like expired from a can! Table isn’t even whipped or cleaned well, self service on water. I have really bad experience here, avoid it at all cost! The only good thing about this restaurant is their system functions, & food order server has good attitude.

I think some visitors to here need to wind their necks in a little complaining about staff. The staff are lovely beautiful people and some even can hold a tune singing haha. So kind and helpful. This place has a great buzz, good food and drinks at really good value. Also has great WIFI. Thank you everyone for your hospitality.

Kohinoor North Indian Restaurant

$$$$affordable
Indian restaurant
Kohinoor North Indian Restaurant is a popular spot at the Kota Kinabalu Waterfront, known for its delicious Indian cuisine and excellent service. The restaurant offers a variety of options, including Mutton Rogan Josh, Jeera rice, and mango lassi. It's a great place to enjoy northern-style Indian cuisine, with an inviting atmosphere by the waterfront. In addition to serving Indian Muslim food and Malay dishes, Kohinoor also provides western snacks after kitchen hours.
This place is amazing, friendly helpful staff, great food and even better location. The food can be made as spicy or mild as you like it. Try to get there just before sunset and get a table near to the river. Another bonus is it seems to be happy hour all the time so drinks are reasonable.

Creamy spinach lamb: taste was 10/10. Textured creamy sauce with pieces of spinach and beans. Has 5-6 pieces of lamb that felt slightly tough& dry. Garlic n cheese naan: Good naan, tasted like normal cheese naan, garlic not so. Boneless Fish tikka: this was a miss, fish was dry, and the overall dish was salty. (Came with sides of vege & a green spiced sauce thats not spicy) Masala spice tea (rm10.90): imo, prefer it to be more spicy. slightly overpriced. Overall, good ambience and staffs were warm and friendly.

We had early dinner while watching sunset here. The food and service is superb, we love the tandoori chicken briyani and prawn masala curry. Highly recommended!

I visited Kohinoor Restaurant yesterday evening with a group of friends. We are from Nepal, currently working in Brunei with the British Army, and were on a group tour looking for some good North Indian home-style food. The service was excellent—definitely 5-star! We were initially struggling to order food due to the language barrier, but one of the staff members, Mr. Sani, was incredibly friendly and well-mannered. To our surprise, he spoke both Nepali and Hindi, which made us feel instantly at home. He recommended some amazing dishes, including the tandoori platter, naan, curry dishes, and yellow dal. The flavors reminded us of home—just like the food we enjoy in Nepal. Thank you, Mr. Sani, for your warm hospitality. We will definitely come back again soon. Highly recommended! — Alex from Nepal

What a great night over looking the water with the most beautiful sun set and then later in the night amazing thunderstorms. The food was delicious and loved the happy hour. We are only here for three days and we will be back to enjoy the whole experience all over again tomorrow night. You have to love Kota Kinabalu

Very delicious food! Veg briyani: quite spicy 🌶️.. very flavourful! Recommended! Gobi Manchurian: mild spicy. Super delicious! Paneer: non spicy. Very yummy too! Mix cheese and garlic naan: most delicious among all these! Sweet Lassi: very fresh and yummy too! Pani puri: less authentic than India one, taste abit like western style appetiser but still taste good. Overall recommended! Good service and quick service. We went again yesterday.. The palak paneer portion was so little.. gobi Manchurian taste okay. Mixed naan tasted good too.

Returning review ---->. We keep coming back. The food is consistently good. The beer comes in frozen mugs and the view is amazing. Our waiter Sani is great! We live in Canada so this is a genuine treat to have such good food and a view while we visit in KK. If you enjoy Indian food with a view don't miss Kohinoor! Old review 2023. ---> We ate here last year and almost didn’t return but we are sure glad we did. The food was amazing and vastly improved. The addition of an Indian cook since the pandemic has turned this North Indian restaurant into a must. We enjoyed Mango Korma that was amazing. Also Chana Masala, Chicken Tikka, Garlic Naan and a few beers. The food was the best, good value and includes a very nice view on the water. We spent RM152 which is a fair price including beer for a couple.

Kota Kinabalu International Airport

International airport
Airport
Kota Kinabalu International Airport, the second busiest airport in Malaysia, serves as a vital connection for both domestic and international flights to Sabah. Travelers can easily access the city center via an airport bus or ride-sharing services like Uber or Grab. The airport offers efficient check-in processes and comfortable seating near the gates, with clean facilities and a selection of shops to explore.
📍Kota Kinabalu International Airport -Easy to reach by public transport, taxi, or car. Signs and directions are clear for first-time visitors. -The airport is clean and well-maintained. Plenty of restrooms, seating areas, and charging stations. -Good variety of shops and restaurants for travelers. Prices are higher than outside, but that’s expected at airports -Friendly and helpful staff at check-in and security. Security checks are fast most of the time, but can get busy. 📝 A comfortable and efficient airport. It has all the basic needs for travelers and a pleasant atmosphere

It's a small international airport, but the facilities are quite good. They need to add another toilet near Gate A10 and the gates above it. The existing toilets should be upgraded as they are currently small and not very clean.

Small but full functioning international airport. Some area they are very good, some area need to improve. The super good thing is the efficiency of the immigration. They have 5-6 counters and all counters are OPEN!!!! This is totally different with peninsular where you will see 20 counters but only 1 open….. Here people sell frozen seafood readily available for hand carry com cabin. Water dispenser available for refilling your bottle. Arrival hall is simple and the exit is very efficient. Ok now come the area for improvement: firstly need more toilets, second is clarity on signage especially for departure if passenger are using eboarding pass need to manually write a paper slip for immigration.
Siauhwa T — Google review
Much better than most of other airports in asean countries. Queue is smooth & immigration clearance is quite efficient. Easy to navigate as signboards are clear. Helpful airport staffs. Area for improvement: 1. Provide more seats at outside, 2. Have running numbers from start till the end for the pillars outside (the number may be changed in the future) outside the airport to avoid confusion during airport pick-up (for example, currently, the international arrival area had the same pillar numbers as the domestic arrival - this should be avoided)
Wong T — Google review
The airport is clean, well-maintained, and easy to navigate. Check-in and security were smooth, and the staff were friendly and helpful. There are some shops and cafés inside, enough for a quick bite or last-minute shopping. Signage is clear, and flight info is easy to find on the screens. Toilets and prayer rooms (surau) are clean and free to use. Trolleys are also available if you need them. Overall, a comfortable and stress-free airport experience — not too big, but everything you need is there.

Kota Kinabalu Airport is pretty simple and easy to navigate. Right at the entrance, there’s a smoking area with an amazing view of the mountains – honestly one of the nicest spots to just step outside for a moment. The airport itself is clean, has free Wi-Fi, and plenty of little shops. Security is standard, nothing unusual. Just a heads-up: if you’re flying internationally (like we did to Vietnam), don’t go buying water right after duty-free. There’s another security check at the gate area, and they’ll make you toss all your drinks. As for carry-on luggage, they didn’t weigh anyone’s backpack while we were there – only small suitcases seemed to get checked more often. Overall, it’s a straightforward airport. One extra tip: there’s also a smoking area after security inside the duty-free zone, but it’s located all the way at the end of the terminal.

Kota Kinabalu International Airport is modern, clean, and fairly efficient for both domestic and international travel. The layout is straightforward, with clear signage and organized check-in counters, making navigation easy even for first-time visitors. Security and immigration processes are generally smooth, though peak hours can feel a little congested. The terminal offers a good range of amenities, including dining options, convenience stores, and duty-free shopping. Facilities are well-maintained, and restrooms are kept clean. Taxis and Grab are easily available at arrival. Overall, a pleasant airport that provides comfort, convenience, and good connectivity for travelers to Sabah.

Labuan Airport

Domestic airport
Labuan Airport serves as the sole commercial gateway to Labuan, connecting travelers with daily flights from Kuala Lumpur and Kota Kinabalu through airlines like Malaysia Airlines, AirAsia, and MASWings. This small yet efficient airport is well-maintained and offers a range of amenities including Starbucks, McDonald's, and a convenience store at the arrival level.
Dear AeroDarat Services Team, I would like to extend my sincere appreciation for the outstanding service provided by your team at Labuan Airport on 28 May 2025, following a flight cancellation involving the 1815 departure. Despite the inconvenience of the situation, your staff handled everything swiftly, professionally, and with genuine care for passengers. I would especially like to commend Mr. Wafi, who went above and beyond to assist us. He swiftly arranged and provided us with hotel vouchers, meal vouchers, and transport vouchers, which helped to ease the stress of the disruption significantly. Additionally, Ms. Joyce and other members of the AeroDarat ground team further demonstrated their commitment by organizing free transportation to our hotel, ensuring all passengers were well taken care of when alternative transport options were unavailable. The calm, efficient, and compassionate manner in which Wafi, Joyce, and the team managed the situation was truly commendable. Their actions reflect the highest standards of service and professionalism, and I believe they are a true asset to AeroDarat. What stood out even more was Wafi’s exceptional dedication — when we were unable to secure a Grab ride to our hotel, he personally arranged transport and even sent us to the hotel himself. This level of service is rare and deeply appreciated, especially during a time of unexpected inconvenience. Please convey my heartfelt thanks and recognition to them for their excellent support. They turned a difficult travel situation into one that reminded me of the importance of human kindness and service excellence. A small and not very busy airport, the one and only commercial airport in Labuan all airlines serving this route to Labuan will arrive and depart from this airport. The airport were well maintained, clean, the parking were plenty and during my visit only charged RM 2 per entry/day. McDonald's, Starbucks and convenient store are available at the arrival level. Bank ATM and Frozen seafood shop also available at the departure level.

Labuan Airport may be small in size, but it remains functional and continues to serve its purpose efficiently. For those with personal ties to the island, such as alumni of Labuan Matriculation College—myself included from the class of 2009—the airport evokes a sense of nostalgia, especially with the McDonald's still operating on-site. While some equipment appears to be showing signs of wear and may benefit from upgrades, the overall experience remains smooth. A compact airport with heart and history.

It’s a simple, small, quick and efficient airport. Even though it’s a small airport is had on the land side a Starbucks, McDonald’s & Pizzeria. The security is ok with passengers taking food and liquids soft drinks to the airside. As there is nothing on the airside. The airport is well Air-conditioned and is gets the job done well.

Air gateway to Labuan. This airport need to be upgraded in order to allow bigger plane to land & bring more foreign tourists to Labuan. Checking in to the boarding area at this moment is done at almost at the last minute, causing much congestion & wasting time. One out of two of the staircases to boarding area is not being used at this moment.

small airport in labuan federal territory. got very few flights only everyday and not busy. airasia users are advised to arrived earlier as only one self check in kiosk provide. very clean and organized set up. authorities very helpful and atms available.

Everyday, people visit this airport not because they are flying somewhere but because they just want to hangout or top up their supply of skin and body necessities. The airport is where Labuanites go to relax while eating their fries at McD and buy their favourite bodywash from Watson's. You don't have to face the traffic going to the city centre. Just drive and park in their spacious parking area and swag your way to your destination.

Worse airport in malaysia. MAHB top management, please check all the staff. I believe leader here doesn't function. All the counter for security start from 6am. My flight boarding is 6.20am. When I read the reviews, it was occurred long time ago but haven't any action taken from management. Its seems the management is do nothing there. Poor management at Labuan Airport.
