La Ceaun - Michael Weiss

$$$$affordable
Romanian restaurant
La Ceaun is a traditional Romanian restaurant in Brasov. You can enjoy traditional chicken soup or oven-baked pork ribs during lunchtime. For each meal, you'll receive homemade bread with roasted potatoes and house-made sausages for your dinner.
Friendly service with very good traditional Romanian dishes. Dishes are of good size and prices are decent for the location in the town centre. Baby friendly with baby high chair available on request. Our waitress, Andreaa was great as well.
Leon L — Google review
The sauce for the chicken was too garlic, so the dish wasn’t enough tasty at first. But the waiter was very gentle and asked if the food is ok. And we said about the problem, he brought tomato sauce which was much better and the dish tastes rather different 👍. Thanks the waiter for attention. The frappe with amaretto was nice 😍. Liked it!
Татьяна А — Google review
Alex served us and made excellent suggestions, he even offered to pay if we didn’t like his suggestions! Now that’s Confidence in the quality. Food was very nice a great experience all round !
Les N — Google review
Came here for lunch, on a scheduled, ordered the soup inside the bread, very few soup, so had to order a second dish that wasn’t ready in 40min 😞 Had to cancel my order and rush for the bus with no time to explore the city 😔 The soup was very tasty and came almost instantly so in that way was good. Really sad I wasn’t able to taste more, they kept on fulfilling delivery orders but not my dish.
Antonieta L — Google review
The food was lovely, I ordered something mild so as to also be comforting as it's my first meal in Braşov. The polenta went well with the well seasoned pork so it was perfect! Plus the lady server was kind to help me with my order
Stevenson Q — Google review
Excellent. Went here on a whim when a different place that was recommended to us had no tables available. Good outdoor seating atmosphere, super friendly and efficient service. Food was great. Got the meat pie and lamb chops. Gogoși was amazing as well… good sized portion for sharing.
Justin D — Google review
Great good. I went to have dinner and then lunch the following day because it was all so good. The service was amazing too, especially Florentin who gave me and my friend great recommendations.
Álvaro H — Google review
What an experience! The food was absolutely amazing, every bite brought me back to my childhood years. Such a beautiful blend of flavor and nostalgia. Highly recommend! Amazing fast and friendly service!

Restaurant
La Ceaun - Piata Sfatului is a cozy bistro located in Brasov, Romania, offering some of the best breakfast and brunch dishes in the area. The rustic decor and welcoming atmosphere make it an ideal place to enjoy a delicious Romanian breakfast or brunch with friends or family. The friendly waitstaff are ready to offer recommendations for hearty Romanian meals, creating a warm and inviting dining experience.
This is a lively local restaurant in the heart of Brasov old town, is was so hot outside we decided to eat inside there were three ladies getting the food ready for a very busy restaurant and I have to say they were cool-out, they served the food to the waiters with ease. the waters were very friendly and not afraid to talk and recommend different food. the food was excellent, I had the beef cheek and me wife had veal liver, I can highly recommend trying this restaurant.
Noel C — Google review
There are very few places which fully deserve 5 stars in all aspects but truly La Ceaun shattered all expectations. The food was delicious, the staff was very friendly and the portions were quite generous. Highly recommend it for a taste of traditional Romanian food with a good atmosphere and really great location. Will definitely come again!
Flavia G — Google review
This restaurant is excellent - all dishes are very delicious, they also have traditional Romanian dishes, all are very tasty. The staff is very friendly and they speak English fluently. Definitely recommend 100% for the full experience in Brașov. Amazing culinary experience!
Sean B — Google review
Warm welcome, well decorated restaurant. Plenty of traditional romanian dishes available and for all taste. For vegetarians, some dishes are available. I went there on Thursday night with my parents, and we spent a great time and discover the romanian cuisine. Our waitress, Mimi, was particularly available for explanations, patient and polite. The food was excellent, well recommended.
Thomas F — Google review
I really loved this restaurant. Great location, great food and very friendly service. I ordered the ham and bean soup to start and it was hearty and delicious. It was filled with perfectly cooked beans and ham and had great flavor. I had the mici for my main and it was equally as delicious. All of the sides were excellent as well. I had some of the best cabbage and pickles I’ve ever tasted in my life. Just perfect. My server was very kind and throughout the course of my meal I overheard him speak English, French, Romanian and a little Italian. Very impressive! When traveling I generally avoid eating right in the main tourist areas as the food tends to be overpriced and not so good, but this was not the case at la ceaun at all! Great location and equally great food. I will certainly be back. There are many more items on the menu I’d like to try
Marissa C — Google review
Tasty food. It was best Papanasi I ate during my trip in Romania (not only my opinion). The service is good, the waitress was quick/kind and smile (Mimi, if not mistaken). It’s in a touristic place, so, probably will be interesting who visits Brasov at the first time. Just one note - sometime there is a queue to a toilet :)
Rail Z — Google review
We had lunch at this restaurant and it was absolutely wonderful! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and our waiter, Costi, was incredibly polite, attentive, and welcoming, which made the experience even better. We tried the eggplant salad with tomatoes, the pie with matured cheese and tomatoes, and the traditional Transylvanian soup with smoked meat and potatoes.. every dish was full of flavor and truly delicious. Highly recommend this place for an authentic meal with great service
Evelina N — Google review
Very good place to try some of the local foods, we had the Bulz and the Mici which we enjoyed with a glass of red wine. Waiter was very helpful, friendly and even searched the wine for me. Nice views of the square covered so even though it rained it was dry - would recommend they invest in outdoor heaters as it does drop a good few degrees in the evening. But overall recommend this place.

Sergiana

$$$$affordable
Romanian restaurant
Sergiana, located in the heart of Brasov's old town, is a top restaurant offering an authentic Transylvanian culinary experience. The warm atmosphere and hospitable staff dressed in folk costumes create a charming ambiance. The menu features traditional dishes served in three languages: Saxon, Hungarian, and Romanian. Using old recipes and fresh ingredients from their own farms, Sergiana brings the charm and traditional taste of Transylvania to the historic center of Brasov.
I had dinner here based on the reviews. They didn’t disappoint. Food: 5/5 Once you sit down, they brought you complimentary bread and a deep fried pork skin and meat crunchy starter. I had the mushroom and bacon stuffed pork schnitzel which wasn’t dry and tasty. They could have added more mushroom. Their portions are on the big side as I ended up taking the extras. Their menu is extensive but not many choices for vegetarians and vegans. Service: 4/5 server was friendly and made a good recommendation of the traditional potatoes. Atmosphere: 5/5 the restaurant is located downstairs which I felt I was dining in an old brick tavern. Nice and cosy feel to the place. They can fit large parties to just one person.
Melanie E — Google review
The best restaurant if you're looking for authentic romanian dishes and dining experience. ✅Location: Cozy and clean. 👌Food: I would go back and recommend this restaurant. The Ciorba de burta did not disappoint, even the complimentary jumari with onion, tasted good. Our main course were ciolan with beans and ciolan with cabbage, which both tasted well. The pork is tender, juicy, and hit the right spot of not being too salty and not bland. I would say I liked the beans more. The freshly pressed apple juice matched our entire meal. The serving was generous and we had a few leftovers for takeway.😊 💯Service: We arrived at the restaurant during dinner without a reservation, and we were treated great. We didn't have to wait long for the food to be served. I would say they're very attentive. Overall, a really great dining experience.
Evangeline S — Google review
We were sooo excited to try this placed based on two recommendations, but it was such a disappointment I’m afraid. The stuffed chicken schnitzel with bacon was bone dry and my son couldn’t even finish it (he is not fussy and loves food), the sarmale was nothing special and was left unfinished too. My vegetarian stewed mushrooms with polenta was pleasant enough but had no wow factor. Our waitress seemed stressed and hurried (it was busy) and to top it off we had some weird residue at the bottom of our wine glasses .. yuck! The manager kindly refunded us for the wine but the whole experience was super disappointing after high expectations. We didn’t stay for dessert and took our business elsewhere. Very nice decor and atmosphere and some friendly staff, but sadly not worth the hype.
Cherry K — Google review
Upon entering, the host accurately told us it would be a 15 minute wait. After being seated, we stated to our waiter, we ONLY want dessert, he treated us with the the same respect as if we had a 4 course meal. We had the Papanasi (which our waiter predicted). He brought us bread and dried meat and stated "it is on the house" The papanasi was cooked to perfection and just a hint of crispness (just how I like it). The local red berries and sour cream were in good proportions.
Andrew U — Google review
The decor and atmosphere was great. Service was superb. The complimentary fried pork belly and bread was yummy Food was good but personally I missed some veggies. Yet it is a great place to see and get an authentic atmosphere!
Laura F — Google review
Had a really nice meal here. The mains are delicious! I had the wild boar and would definitely recommend it. We had ice-cream for dessert but it wasn’t good. Tasted like store bought frozen ice-cream, so if you want a dessert I wouldn’t choose ice-cream. The service was ok but the vibes were great.
Sophie — Google review
Food is the best you can have in the town, atmosphere is great, service is top class and the building has a memorable history. Each waiter is able to guide you as you’d be a guest in their own home.

Absolutely fantastic meal. Great soups, amazing Sarmale. We also were lucky enough to see dancing and live music which was a cool cultural experience.

Casa Hirscher

$$$$expensive
Restaurant
Casa Hirscher, also known as the Merchant's House, was built between 1539-1545 by Apollonia Hirscher, the wife of the former judge of Brasov, Lukas Hirscher. This house was a tribute to her late husband and served as a hub for trade during the weekly markets in the surrounding area. With its vaulted chambers and pillars, it represented a flourishing economic center at the crossroads of major European trade routes.
I rarely give such glowing reviews, but Casa Hirscher today truly deserves a full 5 out of 5. We ordered two salads, one pasta and one meat dish and everything, from the food to the drinks and the attentive service, was simply outstanding. A truly amazing experience at a fair price.
Shs_21 — Google review
We ate at Casa Hirscher in mid-September while on a Transylvania road trip. Casa Hirscher deserves to be in the Michelin Guide! The restaurant is beautiful, and you can feel you are in for an elevated dining experience when you sit down at your table. This was the best dining experience I've ever had in Romania, and a big part of this was because of our server, Florentina. She was kind, patient with our questions, explained menu items so well, and her wine service was impeccable! We had cocktails and ordered a bottle of 1000 de Chipuri's 2020 Fetească Neagră, which was recommended by Florentina. This is the best Fetească Neagră (FN) I have ever had, and it's the first wine I've had that's 17% alcohol! I had asked for a 2017 Apogeum, which they did not have, and I'm so glad because it enabled me to find this bottle from 1000 de Chipuri (1000 Faces). This is such a smooth, well-balanced wine, and I cannot wait to visit 1000 de Chipuri Winery as I've heard a lot of good things about it. First, we were brought a delicious, complimentary starter. For our entrées, my buddy had STINCO DI MAIALE CON VERDURE (Oven Baked Pork Shank with Sautéed Vegetables); I had the PETTO D’ANATRA CARAMELIZZATO (duck breast with spicy sauce, sesame, and mixed pan-fried mushrooms, which also came with some awesome mashed potatoes); and my wife had the FILETTO AL TARTUFO (beef fillet with truffle crust). For dessert, we shared NOUGAT GLACÉ, which we were ecstatic about because not only was it so good, but it's gluten-free, and my wife is celiac. All of the dishes were outstanding! I tried the pork shank; it was so tender and juicy. Duck can be hit or miss for me, and it always feels like I'm spinning the roulette wheel when I order it, but this was the best duck I've ever had, and the spicy sauce was amazing. My wife loves anything with truffles, and her beef fillet was cooked to perfection. Thank you to Florentina and everyone in the kitchen for an amazing dinner and helping give my friend from the US, who was in Romania for the first time, an incredible culinary experience that will definitely be at the forefront of his memories of his Tour de Transylvania.
Mike M — Google review
It was my first solo travel experience, and the restaurant offered all the comfort and coziness I was looking for to end my day. The service was excellent, and the food was outstanding. It was the best chicken I’ve ever had, and the wine recommended by the waiter paired perfectly with it. The prices are absolutely worth it considering the quality. Without a doubt, it’s my new favorite restaurant.
Vitória A — Google review
The food was very good and the prices are fair. Didn't get a picture of the onion soup as we devoured it immediately, a bit different than the original recipe, but very good. Also, our waiter Iulian was very helpful and friendly, an exemplary service. Looking forward to our next visit.
Alex P — Google review
Very calm area, the food was very tasty and a big portion to eat your fill. The drinks are also nicely proportioned, the berry lemonade isnt too sour or too sweet and it looks like a cocktail (as the picture). I highly reccomend, the staff is very nice, checked up on us from time to time.
A. ( — Google review
Disappointed with the service. We came in and ordered drinks and a starter which all came fairly quickly. The tomato bruschetta and the drinks were all very good. The we waited around 40 minutes for our main dishes to arrive, despite the restaurant being empty aside from 2 other tables. At least one of those tables arrived after us and got their food before us. Not to mention the fact that the food was entirely unremarkable and the carbonara pasta was actually quite bad. Please save your money and skip!
Ioana H — Google review
To start was bruscetta bread perfectly toasted with fresh tomatoes. Pesto Penne Gorgonzola. The al dente penne was perfect and had a rich velvety sauce of basil pesto with a tang of Gorgonzola cheese. The Gorgonzola brings a punchy, blue-cheese depth that’s softened by the nutty, garlicky pesto. It’s a bold combination—one that might intimidate mild palates. Each bite is creamy, savory, and slightly sharp, with the pesto adding a fresh lift that keeps the richness in check.
Andrew U — Google review
I had a wonderful dining experience here. The duck leg confit was perfectly cooked — tender, flavorful, and beautifully paired with a fresh green side of asparagus, broccoli, and spinach. The wine selection complemented the dish perfectly. The staff was kind, attentive, and made the whole evening feel special. Highly recommend!

Crama Sibiul Vechi

$$$$affordable
Restaurant
Romanian restaurant
Nestled within the charming confines of an ancient wine cellar, Crama Sibiul Vechi offers a delightful culinary journey through traditional Romanian cuisine. This hidden gem in Sibiu invites you to indulge in hearty dishes that are sure to tempt even the least hungry among us. The menu boasts local favorites such as rich tripe soup, savory bean soup, and succulent chicken in mustard sauce. Don't miss out on their smoked pork and polenta casserole or the iconic cabbage rolls that showcase authentic flavors.
I was surprised the restaurant is in the cellar, but the atmosphere is really nice. You will see a ‘hundred pages’-menu, with varieties of food. We ordered a soup, grilled pork, spicy beef, side dishes like potatoes and mushrooms. They are in big portions and are very tasty. Service here is also great.
Jean H — Google review
Dinner here this evening was absolutely fantastic, you could choose your main then your sides and sauces and essentially build your plate. It's easy to find, we were welcomed immediately by a friendly and funny host - lovely and accommodating staff. Desserts just as good and the whole atmosphere was very cosy. Service could not have been quicker. Everything arrived promptly. Would 100 return and recommend!! Thank you for a lovely evening.
Sophia S — Google review
I loved eating there, the waiters are super friendly and the traditional food is delicious. The food is super abundant, my partner and I ordered a cheese board to share as an appetizer and then our respective main courses and we couldn't finish them, We had to change it to takeout. But 100% recommended, delicious food and a very comfortable place!
Waleska L — Google review
Great atmosphere, delicious food and fast service. We recommend the cabbage rolls, the peasant potatoes, the tomato and onion salad and the pancakes, apple and berries pudding with ice cream. We loved the sour cherry brandy and blueberry brandy with pudding. Generous helpings. Thank you to the chef and the hard working team.
Caroline — Google review
Absolutely outstanding food — from the soup to the main course and dessert, every bite was rich in flavor and steeped in tradition. The staff, dressed in traditional costumes, and the medieval “taverna” atmosphere make you feel as if you’ve stepped straight back to the early 1900s. No phone signal, no background music — just exceptional food and genuine human connection. I’d come back every time I get the chance; there are still so many dishes I can’t wait to try.
Veronica A — Google review
Excellent food and the quaint atmosphere of a 'cellar restaurant'. Impressively large menu. Two wait staff were very good, but lots of diner turnover meant they were very busy clearing and setting tables. Bill had to wait for a while.
Berta Z — Google review
We wanted to try some traditional Romanian dishes and the waiter suggested that he would just bring us some dishes. I was skeptical but he brought a great stuffed chicken dish with polenta and a pork dish that my husband loved. He didn’t overdo it, just created a lovely experience.
Becky J — Google review
We were looking for an authentic place with real local food, and we found it here! Delicious traditional Romanian dishes, a friendly and welcoming staff, and reasonable prices. Absolutely recommended!

Ograda

Restaurant
Ograda is a must-visit destination offering a complete experience with local delicacies and captivating stories to take home. The market showcases carefully prepared local delights, while the restaurant serves dishes made from regional ingredients, allowing visitors to savor and understand the culinary possibilities of the area. Additionally, Pension Castel Haller, located in Targu Mures, offers a serene setting and an international cuisine restaurant.
So happy about the visit!!! We had slow-cooked beef, veal goulash, tarte and papanasi. Super fine food, made from high-quality ingredients by a lovely team of cooks, and served with love. Combined with its good drinks and comfy atmosphere this place is a gem. Don’t be surprised about the short menu, it’s a 1-pager, not 20 pages of bullshit “globetrotter” food, but high-level delights which they love to do extraordinarily well.

Fabulous food, drink and most importantly, service by Adrian and his colleagues. Absolutely stellar experience. Papanași are the best we've ever had, by a significant margin.

Such a wonderful place in Brașov! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt welcoming and cozy. I was really impressed not only by the quality of the food but also by the way the staff treated us – friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind. The dishes were absolutely delicious, full of flavor and beautifully presented. Honestly, it’s some of the best food I’ve had in Romania. I would gladly come back anytime and truly recommend it to anyone visiting Brașov."
Madalina B — Google review
The restaurant is located on the central square. The interior is fine. There are tables only with a high chairs so be ready. The food is good, for carnivorous. We had a vegetarian fried with us she had a few dishes to eat. The prices are a bit higher than average. Truly, I wouldn't visit it again.
Semion K — Google review
The food was reeeeally delicious, both dishes we ordered were wonderful! However, the chairs are pretty uncomfortable, and our waitress kept rushing us to order, eat, and pay, even though the restaurant wasn’t busy at all. That part took away from the experience.
Marina B — Google review
Great atmosphere and settling. Angi the waitress helped us with food preferences and allergies. Dishes were beautifully decorated and really good. We enjoyed our evening very much

This charming establishment, ranked among the top 5 restaurants in Brasov, stands out for its quality and variety of dishes. Situated just 200 meters from the Black Church, it offers guests the opportunity to combine gastronomic pleasure with historical exploration of the city.
I really appreciate that our waitress Sandra went above and beyond to satisfy my craving for shrimps and asked the chef to prepare the most exquisite Aioli dish I have ever tasted!!! The ravioli with blue cheese and pear were delicious (they even took out the sage because I dislike it).The lasagna was really tasty as well(obviously I tried a bit of everything). However the shrimp dish was amazingly delicious!!! Really hope that the chef has the ingredients to make it for me next time I go. I will definitely return!!!

We really enjoyed our time here! We had lunch one day and came back the next, because we liked it so much. Staff is very friendly, the waitresses have a positive attitude and the man at the bar gave us a drink on the house because he heard I said I like my alcohol sweet. The music is nice and the food is absolutely amazing as well, we finished every single plate. I really recommend the pasta with zucchini and the place overall 🥰🦋🌸

We had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant in Brașov yesterday, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. Every dish we ordered was absolutely delicious. The risotto, in particular, was outstanding – without a doubt the best we’ve ever had. As passionate food lovers who have dined in several Michelin-starred restaurants, we can confidently say that, from a culinary standpoint, this place easily deserves one star. The quality, flavor, and execution of the dishes were simply top-notch. A special mention must go to Anca, who provided us with the best service of the evening. She was incredibly kind, funny, and gave us spot-on recommendations that perfectly matched our tastes. Her warmth and professionalism made our evening even more enjoyable. We truly had an amazing time and can’t wait to come back!

It's familly owned and familly ran so it's very cosy, the service is great and they are really ftiendly and offer great suggestions if you are undecided over the menu. And then the food....well it's great, tasty and they source local ingredients. It's usually busy and you need a reservation but it's worth it. The best pizza we’ve had since Italy!!! We were feeling a little tired of Romanian food, and decided on pizza. Chose this place mostly due to proximity to where we were at the time, and did we get lucky! Our most memorable meal of the nine day trip. So delicious, we ate the leftovers cold for breakfast the next morning!

This is a really nice place. Great service. Food is beautiful, taste is good but can easily be better. I didn't like the "Wagiu" Tartar that had too much Tabasco so the only flavor was of hot sauce. Steak was alright, it was done perfectly as asked to medium but searing had some wired flavor. Lime cake was just perfect!

simply the best, there is no better restaurant than this. First time i see everything cooked perfectly, i mean perfect. And the creme brulee is just incredibly balanced and a special experience in its own. The fries, perfectly, not dry but extra crispy exterior, perfect. Even the drinks, first time the lemonade was just perfect, not overpowering not too sweet, not too sour. And of course, perfect serving, friendly staff and great vibe of the place. Everything you do seems perfect, a real restaurant with tastes from the gods.

Delicious food, especially the beef, and a good selection of drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. The atmosphere is cosy and the staff is friendly and helpful. There is also a small playground for kids. A reservation should be done in advance, as the place is very popular. Highly recommended!

We visited this restaurant for the first time. Located in the center of Sibiu. Cozy place, lots of space. We ordered a burger and carbonara. In general, we liked everything. Service is good. The fondant was real with liquid chocolate inside - this is a huge plus!

Best steak in town period. I spent two weeks in Sibiu and tried lots of different places. Benjamins was my favourite by far. The quality of the food was fantastic and the flavour perfect. Add to that the atmosphere and service and for me it’s the best restaurant in Town! Highly recommended.

This is a very nice place aspiring to be an international level steakhouse. Our French Onion soup was a bit over reduced and rich for our liking. The steak (ribeye) was excellent and so where the veg and sauces ordered as sides. Beef tartare should be more seasoned and missed the egg yolk. Great local beer and wine selection.

Tourist trap. Insanely overpriced. Long waiting time even for a starter. Compulsory service fee without mentioning on the menu nor from the staff. Refused to waive it after multiple times of complaints about the food portion & quality.(see pic for same dish from different days) NOT RECOMMENDED.

Prato Restaurant

$$$$expensive
Restaurant
Located in the historic center of Brasov, Prato Restaurant offers a rich menu of Mediterranean cuisine accompanied by a selection of Romanian and international wines. The skilled team of chefs takes great care in selecting the finest ingredients, including fresh vegetables, flavorful fruits, tasty cheeses, and tender meats to create delicious salads, soups, pastas, as well as meat and fish dishes. The restaurant provides a stylish Italian dining experience with excellent food quality and friendly service suitable for romantic dinners or group gatherings.
Everything at Prato in Brașov was excellent. I had been here over 10 years ago, and the memory stuck with me — I’m happy to say it’s just as good as I remembered. We showed up dressed very casually, and it wasn’t an issue at all. We had oysters, carbonara, vongole pasta, and a pâté with fruit jam — all beautifully prepared. Our waiter was incredibly kind and attentive, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. We were celebrating our engagement, and it truly felt special — maybe that’s why it all seemed even more magical. We loved it so much that, even though we had dinner elsewhere the next night, we came back just for dessert — and yes, those didn’t disappoint either. Highly, highly recommend. A place that stays in your heart.

Absolutely delighted with the deserts and ambience of this restaurant. Their barretta di chiocolate was exceptional, the flavours of everything on the plate were complimented perfectly with each other! The pineapple gelato with olive oil was blissfully delicious! The waiters were extremely attentive and made us feel extremely welcomed .

First time visiting this place, I can say the atmosphere was good and the service was really nice, no complaints there. The food was meh, we ordered pasta and 3 different pizzas. The pasta was good, but the pizzas not so great. I appreciate that they were ready in a few minutes, but for some reason they were a bit warm at delivery. Then, not anything extraordinary, the same pizza quality you would get from a simple place, but twice the price.

Amazing experience, the waitress was great and offered to modify some of the options for me so I could enjoy the pasta but making it vegan and gluten free, it was delicious

We had dinner here with a group of friends. The review for the food is mixed, some enjoyed it, others not so much. But the service was really nice. The restaurant has a large spread of pasta and desserts.

Brașov-Ghimbav International Airport

International airport
Airport
Brașov International Airport, also known as Brasov-Ghimbav International Airport, is a relatively new addition to Romania's aviation infrastructure. It offers scheduled flights from London (Luton) and Dortmund, Germany through Wizz Air. The airport is easily accessible via local company mini-bus services that can be booked online. Despite its small size, the airport boasts cleanliness and friendly staff.
It was quick. Immigration checks are very fast. Luggage came promptly. Free Wifi too with decent speed.

Small but almost new airport. Two security gates. There is only one apron, so no buses are needed:) 4 stars because there is not much space in the departure hall, so it's already crowded with just one plane. Maybe one day there will be a direct connection to Poland :)
Sebastian W — Google review
Extremely rude and inefficient people working there. Security is done manually despite advertising modern scanners - everything has to be taken out of the hand luggage. There are 3 gates, but there is not enough waiting space even for 1 flight (the only one at 11:00 to Dortmund), next flight in the schedule is at 17:15. No air conditioning. Limited facilities at the gate. Very uncomfortable 😳 , disappointing experience.

Been waiting for this airport for years so I am very bias in giving it 5 stars. So much easier than driving to Bucharest. Just now the airport is quite with only 1 to 2 main flights a day. Going through security was a breeze as was passport control. Airport is nice and small and currently no shops open just vending machines. Only 3 departure gates and seating past security sufficient for 1 major flight. Limited charging points for charging devices. However even although there are no shops or food courts past security they have a free water fountain with cups so well done for thinking about this. Great airport and may it be a great success however when its successful I can see challenges with capacity with seating being limited after security and even parking will be a challenge. None of this is an issue just now and so Happy to travel from Brasov airport

It is a simple airport. Perfect for the trips it offers. It would be nice to have a cafe inside. Maybe someday.
Ninette — Google review
The airport has become a real embarrassment, managed as if it were still decades in the past. The removal of the water fountain turned what used to be a normal, civilised environment into a typical example of poor local management. Staff are consistently rude and make passengers feel unwelcome. The designated smoking area door is propped open and blocked with a large ashtray, allowing smoke to fill the waiting area. After security, there’s no access to coffee, and the only “boutique” has a 45-minute queue for overpriced items. Overall, a disappointing and outdated experience.

Lovely little airport, friendly staff despite some of the reviews here. Hopefully, they’ll get as many flights as possible in the future. People from Brasov deserve and need this!

The airport, even though is small, is very modern and one of the most aesthetically pleasing airports I’ve ever been to. Unfortunately, the rating comes from customer service. For some reason when approached with respect and kindness in return you get an attitude and a rude tone, as if you made them go to work. I’m specifically talking about the lady at check in number 8 at 19:00 on the 15/08/25.
