Dona Júlia

Restaurant
Dona Júlia is a unique dining spot in Braga, offering a new concept of Portuguese cuisine. The restaurant features four distinct rooms with rustic and modern designs, including the Blue Room, Red Room, Gray Room, and Esplanade. Guests can savor traditional Minho dishes such as bean rice with breaded octopus greens and roast kid in the oven. The menu also boasts delectable desserts like pudding Abade de Priscos.
D. Julia offers an extraordinary dining experience that stands out for its extensive wine list and exceptional food quality. From start to finish, every dish was a delight. The puff pastry with cheese as an appetizer was a perfect beginning, setting the stage for the main course—a remarkable Polvo à Lagareiro. The octopus was cooked to perfection, with flavors that truly captured the essence of traditional Portuguese cuisine. Moreover, the restaurant’s selection of meat specialties is impressive, with each dish prepared with the utmost care and precision. Whether you're a fan of seafood or a meat lover, D. Julia ensures that you leave satisfied. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy a top-tier culinary experience.
José S — Google review
Fish is undercooked and meat has many chewy parts. The taste is nothing special. Not worth the price.
Jordan C — Google review
Beautiful restaurant with a nice view of the city of Braga. Service was great! The atmosphere was very nice and relaxing, with a great wine list and very delicious local food. Highly recommended!
Luli J — Google review
Fine dining in Braga, they don't advertise their plant based options but vegans won't be hungry here. They offer simple dishes but perfectly executed - stir fry mushrooms with a hint of garlic and parsley. For the main course you can choose mushrooms risotto or for tofu lovers like myself delicious tofu with veggies All served with a generous serving of home made chips ( fries). Restaurant has a warm and elegant vibe , what adds to the cosiness is nice orange interior. One star less for the service , friendly and efficient, but from such a venue, I would expect more engagement
Anna L — Google review
Food was yummy and portions were share worthy! Had the pork tenderloin and hubbie had the baked codfish. Finished off with a delicious tiramisu.
Theresa S — Google review
Delicious traditional food, very competent staff, extremely kind and friendly. Beautiful and clean location, and the price-performance ratio is excellent.
Mariana_Isabel.Amaral A — Google review
Good quality restaurant, with typical Portuguese cuisine. Several good options for starters, fish and meat. A nice choice if you are in Braga
Isa S — Google review
expensive restaurant than this one in Braga, well the service is so behind I’ve experienced elsewhere. After arrival we waited amazing 20mins for the menu. Then it was another hour for the main dishes to arrive. Meanwhile we enjoyed the couvert, well who would expect that it’s such a problem to get a butter for given buns. The octopus was very good and the only highlight of the evening (clearly except of our friends ;) Prior to the dinner I asked the staff it it would be possible to give our son the cake for birthday which he likes and I brought. They said it was not a problem. Well, therefore they served it with candles without turning them on before bringing it on the table. Such a ruining of the surprise. They should have said in advance they dissent want to do it. Well, definitely will not recommend this place to anyone. Too many staff, but not organised at all so even for the cake plates we waited another 15mins.

Arcoense

Restaurant
Arcoense is a renowned traditional Portuguese cuisine restaurant located about 6 kilometers outside of Braga city center. It has gained popularity for its production of Bisaro pork and offers certified meats and fresh sea fish. The restaurant's specialties include Braga-style codfish, Minho-style rojoes (pork), and Padeiro-style roast kid, all reminiscent of authentic flavors from the region.
If you are in the neighbourhood a great place for original portugese Codfish and various meat dishes. Portions are fantasticly large. Very good Food for the money spend. I love the style of the menues. Incorporated into very old books and available in several languages. I highly recommend this restaurant. Great Staff!
Gero B — Google review
The staff is polite, and the restaurant is clean. However, the service was slow, and it took a long time to receive my dish. I ordered roasted kid goat, which came with potatoes and rice—enough for two people. Unfortunately, the rice was cold, and the meat was just average—nothing remarkable that would make me want to order it again. Overall, the experience was just okay.
Viana A — Google review
Excellent authentic local restaurant, run by the nicest family. Our best dinner in Portugal!
Tom H — Google review
Delicious! Real Portuguese traditional food. Great food, nice people, nice service. Just missing a nice view.
Eddy C — Google review
Our host highly recommended this restaurant and we agree. This is a very popular place and a reservation is needed, best to do so a few days in advance. We were very lucky that our host called and was able to get us in (the last available table). Many Portuguese favorites and our waitress spoiled us.
Scott C — Google review
The food was delicious and the staff super friendly! Definitely a place to go back.
Rita S — Google review
Delicious food, very nice staff, overall a really pleasant experience. The location of the restaurant isn't the best, it's just surrounded by buildings in a suburban setting, so nothing to see, really, and prices could be a little better, still, overall, I recommend this place to whoever visits Braga and is looking for good food. Desserts are a big plus!
Pedro N — Google review
I have dined here several occasions. Our 1st experience was the best. The service and food have since gone in an opposite polar direction from the price. I have been disappointed the last 3 times we have dined their. Over salted, over cooked, very poor attention to service. Conclusion there are much better options. I would definitely not recommend

Buxa

Portuguese restaurant
Restaurant
Buxa is a restaurant located in the historic center of Guimaraes, specializing in traditional Portuguese cuisine. Since its opening in 2013, it has become a culinary reference in the city, offering a combination of quality service and well-presented dishes. The cozy atmosphere includes both indoor and outdoor seating with views of Largo da Oliveira's main attractions. The menu features Portuguese, Mediterranean, and European dishes with various set menus available.
Stopped in for a quick bite. Food was delicious, and as US citizen after 2 weeks here I have finally become ok with the speed of European service. I never realized how much of a rush people in the US are in, settle down, relax and enjoy your time! This place did it for me. I had the grilled prime rib, it was amazing, my girlfriend had the lamb chops, also amazing. I had the lemon tarts for dessert and she had the chocolate cake. The food was incredible!
Keith D — Google review
Stopped here for dinner. Service was exceptional, really the best service we've had all holiday. The waiters were very friendly and funny. The food sadly was not all that great, the steak had some chewy bits and the asparagus was cold. Overall we still enjoyed our stay, especially the waiters friendliness.
Meinewelt — Google review
Lovely spot, white table cloths and excellent service from the young waiters. The menu was good value and the overall experience was very enjoyable. The only thing that let it down was: I don’t think the fish or octopus was fresh but more likely frozen. Both came across as a bit dry unfortunately. But overall experience was good.
Patrick W — Google review
Reserve in advance!!! Buxa was recommended to me by the other restaurant’s owner where we couldn’t get. And it turned out to be a great recommendation! 👍 It’s located at the cute little square and has plenty of seating inside and outside. We got lucky to take the last av I tried the grilled octopus and it was the best I ever had - soft, juicy, and tender! 🐙👍 Make sure to try their traditional almond dessert, it is delicious!
Kateryna K — Google review
If you want to taste some portuguese flavours this is the place to be. Located in the lovely old town section of Guimarães. The staff is also very friendly.
Nathi W — Google review
We were in town for 3 weeks and Buxa is one of our most favorite! Prob been there like 10 times. Food is great and enough options the menu. I don't normally eat much bread but lost myself to the chocolate cake here many times! People there are the best! The owner and everyone of their staff always try their best. So kind, friendly, and efficient. We were so sad to leave and will miss this place forever! We always have drinks, main dishes, multiple appetizers, and desserts and the price for 2 ppl is around 50-70 euro. Especially love: Grilled black pork with beans and potatoes, Buxa shrimp, Pepper appetizers, flan, 20 years tawny port (MUST try), and warm chocolate cake! You can pay with cash or cards. They speak many languages. Outside seats are perfect for people watching for a nice day but inside is also nice. Free wifi and restroom available. Even accessible for wheelchair. Just go. Trust me!
Chalakorn B — Google review
After a full day of touring Guimaraes we were directed to Buxa by a local. All of the outdoor patio tables were full as well as indoor dining. We had a nice 12euro bottle of Duoro wine with our lunch. I had the vegetarian pie and my husband had a rack of lamb. Both were served with salad. After eating codfish almost daily for three weeks, it was a welcome change! We had a cheese plate with marmalade. Prices were reasonable, especially for a rack of lamb. I would recommend!
Kate H — Google review
A very good restaurant in the old town of Guimarães! I had the bolinhos de bacalhau (fried cod balls) as entrance and they were amazing! For main course I had the bacalhau a Narcisa (fried cod with fries) and again, perfectly done! For dessert I had the torta de guimarães, which was another very good surprise. Everything along with wine and bread. I paid 36€. Totally worth going!!

Restaurant
Tia Isabel is an elegant restaurant in Braga known for its seafood and meat dishes, as well as its delightful terrace. The restaurant offers a calm and relaxed atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a meal and engaging in good conversation. With efficient and friendly service, Tia Isabel stands out as one of the best dining options in the area.
Wonderful atmosphere, great food, fine wine, terrific desserts, all at an impossibly low price. This is a AAA+ restaurant with a B price. While not in the absolute Braga city center/old town, there is free, easy parking streetside. We enjoyed 2 375ml wine bottles, whole white bass with side dishes, and dessert for less than EUR80. The service was very good, the restaurant manager very engaged with guests, and enough English spoken to make dinner very pleasant. Highly recommend if visiting Braga.
Michael B — Google review
It was very good experience the food is amazing and so much we could not finish the fish. But it was very expensive for us. And the air conditioning was not working well for a luxury place like this eating while sweating is really a bad. I would not come a place where I cannot sit relaxed and pay 100euros for 2 person.
Burhan E — Google review
I discovered this restaurant through friends and decided to visit spontaneously on a Saturday night. Even though it was fully booked, we got a lovely table in the winter garden after waiting about 30 minutes. The food was excellent — I had scampi with rice and a glass of Chardonnay, both amazing. Service was quick and friendly. The only thing I found a bit odd was a staff trash bin placed near our table and the TV showing football in such a nice setting. Still, I really enjoyed the experience and would definitely recommend it.
Alex M — Google review
Amazing restaurant, very chic very comfortable! Incredible service and the best food we have had yet! The best waiter in that restaurant is named Eusebio. He was fantastic in serving us, suggesting food for us, being attentive to our son. Just overall such a good experience! Definitely come here
Karlyanne — Google review
Found this purely as we were staying in the holiday inn and it was walking distance but so glad we did. Seemed like a very local heavy place which is always a good sign, went on a Monday and it was fully booked. The waiter was very nice. Shared the beef wellington, which was probably the best I’ve ever had. Large portions. Perfect medium rare on the beef. Easily enough for 3 not 2. Well worth the price.
Francine E — Google review
We went there the second time. We visited Braga last year and we found this amazing restaurant. Denise was serving us. He was very professional and recommended us really good dishes and wine. He is one of the most professional waiters I saw ( I used to manage a restaurant so I know what I am talking about). This year we went to Braga only to have lunch there. Denise remembered to us and gave us a great experience again. The food and the environment is top top! I recommend this restaurant a lot!
Attila G — Google review
Beautiful restaurant offering a mix of seafood and meat dishes just outside the old city of Braga. The decor is chic and the service friendly and efficient. There's an outside terrace as well as indoor seating. Choose your lobster from the tank and have it prepared to your taste. The price is reasonable and the portions amply sized.
Linton N — Google review
Very traditional and pleasant Portuguese dinner. They have a great selection of breads. The tuna pâté that comes as a couvert is excellent. And so are the starters (you only pay what you consume) - one of the best codfish cakes (bolinho de bacalhau) I've ever tasted (despite the bone I found) - and the main courses: I had steer steak with rice with greens (novilho com arroz de grêlos). The chocolate mousse could have been a little cooler and a little more chocolatey, but it's nice too. The wine selection is excellent and at great prices.

Restaurant
São Frutuoso is a pre-Romanesque chapel located within the Igreja de São Jerónimo church in Real, featuring a Greek cross design dating back to the 7th century. Despite damage during the Islamic period, it was restored in the 9th and 10th centuries. Additionally, São Frutuoso is renowned for its high-quality Portuguese dishes and is popular among tourists.
Good dinner experience. Highly prized but super tasty food.
M. A — Google review
We were eager to try some authentic Portuguese cuisine during our road trip, only to be sorely disappointed by our experience at this establishment. The service was dismal, characterized by a server whose attitude was not only unhelpful but openly disdainful. Our earnest attempts to engage using the local language were met with ridicule rather than appreciation, making us feel unwelcome and embarrassed about our pronunciation. To make matters worse, the bread served was so stale it could have caused dental damage. Communication with the server was an exercise in futility; his rapid-fire Portuguese was indecipherable, and he made no effort to help us understand the menu, which wouldn't have been as much of a problem if the dishes weren't exorbitantly priced. Although the food itself was decent, it wasn't nearly good enough to compensate for the overall negative atmosphere. It's disheartening to visit a place that could have showcased the best of its culture but instead chose to alienate us because we weren't fluent in the language. This was a sadly disappointing experience, and it’s a place I'd advise any non-Portuguese speakers to avoid. A sad, sad chapter in what could have been a delightful culinary adventure.
Riki M — Google review
Fantastic traditional family run Portuguese restaurant.
Kevin C — Google review
What a great meal! The flavours are outstanding, so well prepared. And then, there also is the host. Such a wonderful man that is kind, and helpful. He is so proud of his restaurant, and he is rightfully so! It is a true gem!
Ronald B — Google review
The whole place is very old fashioned. Its like nothing has changed since 1965. Food was OK but unimaginative and menu not exactly exciting. Interior is amazing, in that the place is clearly very old and has probably been there for several generations. You can't park outside and it's a walk down a dark narrow street to get there. Service was fine but again it all felt like a throwback to the early 70s.
Per H — Google review
Great place, highly recommended. Authentic, both in decor and in service and flavors. You will be helped and served wonderfully, it is a real experience and a must go when in Braga.

Restaurante Retrokitchen, located at Rua do Anjo, 96, offers simple homemade food for those seeking a comforting meal. The restaurant has adapted to the pandemic by opening its doors from Monday to Wednesday and on Saturdays. They continue to serve their weekly menu, which is announced on their Facebook page.
If you are in Braga, don‘t miss this delightful local restaurant. It‘s packed full of locals. We had the plate of the day, Loulas a Bordelesa (Squids in a red wine sauce), soup and Lime pie. Delicious. I have seldom eaten this well for such a convenient price!
Chiara C — Google review
Nice decor and ambiance and very friendly service. The food itself is great value for home style cooking. Went for lunch and total for two people was 19€ for soup, main and a shared dessert. I don’t think there’s a menu for lunch, just a choice for mains between three items. The seafood rice was delicious and the turkey with rice was well cooked and simple. The berry pannacotta was delicious. The wait wasn’t too long at 12:30 - about 20 minutes.
Sab T — Google review
Fantastic food and friendly staff in this trendy restaurant. We were 3 adults, 2 kids and took the waiter’s recommendations with 2 starters, 3 mains which was plenty of food. A few glasses of wine - surprised it came to under €100. Loved everything - all prepared with such care. Would never usually order a fish curry but it was superb, the baked camembert, steak all perfect.
Jody S — Google review
I can’t recommend enough this restaurant and it’s wonderful people. The bake Brie was blowing my mind (must try) The duck with mushroom rice was also unique and super tasty. The mostly impressive was the staff and owner are the kindest human in the world. Thanks for the amazing experience. 💕
Cora L — Google review
A lovely and delicious spot that you must make time for if you’re in Braga. The staff was so kind and accommodating for our large group. We sampled every dish, drink and dessert. Highly recommend the Brie cheese appetizer and the duck for the main course!
James C — Google review
It's an amazing spot in the center of Braga, the food was extremely delicious and the sweets are out of this world, I ve been in Portugal for a week now and this is my favorite restaurant so far, the most important part is that the food, the sweet and a coffee at the end are all for a very low price.
Ahmed Y — Google review
I was a walk-in on a Friday night without a reservation. This is a cool place and the lady who looked after me was charming and welcoming. It’s a small menu - which I prefer - and I ate delicious clams and duck cooked to perfection. Two glasses of Alentejo wine and I was very happy. Thank you.
Richard S — Google review
Three of us enjoyed a wonderful lunch today from their daily selection. Each meal was delicious in every way. A particular highlight of our visit was the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff. They went out of their way to ensure we were happy and enjoying ourselves. The place is fairly small and somewhat eclectic. It felt very casual and inviting. The place filled up completely at lunchtime seemingly with other locals who have found this to be a great spot. This is a lovely place that we will absolutely visit again. We will also look forward to visiting on a warmer, drier day when we can enjoy their nice back patio area. Kudos to the staff of Retrokitchen for the great food and atmosphere!

Located near the Se cathedral, Restaurante Cozinha da Sé is a renowned establishment offering traditional Portuguese cuisine with a modern Minho twist. Run by chef Ricardo Pereira, it has recently earned recognition in the Michelin guide. The restaurant provides delivery and take-away services, allowing customers to savor their authentic dishes at home. With an emphasis on faithful reproduction of Portuguese favorites, the menu includes delectable options such as mussels and pork ribs.
We had the dishes of the day! The service and atmosphere were excellent! My only complaint is that there was not a lot of sea food or fish on a dish that is meant for sharing! Otherwise, we had a pleasant meal at the restaurant.
YØH — Google review
Definitely recommended! Very good place, looks authentic and the food is delicious. We loved the mussels, and all my friends and I enjoyed our dishes. Taking a tip from previous reviews, I ordered chocolate mousse and it was really nice, I don’t have a picture of it but it comes as 3 balls. Good in portion too! As a drink, they had their version of sangria which was super delicious and fresh, the yellow liquid you see in the pics. Perfect for summer! They bring it in a vase you can serve it as much as you like. If you are in Braga, pay a visit here to enjoy local food! 👏🏻

The Good: - Decent seating area - The steak was acceptable. However, it tasted as if it was made with lower quality meat The Not So Good: - The fish fillet had a lot of thick bones and that were not removed and it tasted very bland

October 2025. This place was recommended by our hotel in Porto. We had a fantastic lunch here. Great food, wine and service. Definitely a local vibe. Pretty. Highly highly recommended if you are in Braga (which is a great town to visit).

Ig: @oursceneos It's an excellent restaurant with a welcoming atmosphere. The octopus dish is absolutely delicious and stands out as a highlight. The menu offers a range of options, from more expensive choices to others that are relatively affordable, catering to different budgets. The indoor setting is cozy and pleasant, making it a delightful place to enjoy a meal. Highly recommended!

Wonderful atmosphere and service. Great food. I had the Cod Cozinha de se and my wife the sea bass. Tasted great and had more than enough. Wine was very refreshing. The apple strudel was different from any I have had before but very good.
Will E — Google review
Great service, amazing food(portion’s big too)! They bring the appetizers to your table which was quite fun and reminds me of traditional Dim Sum lol we had mussels salad and melon with local ham for starter, the veggies on mussels are so crunchy and flavourful!!! And the ham is aromatic and silken! Being living in Italy for 3 years, I found Portuguese ham slightly better ( to my taste) than the Italian ones! Definitely a must try! For main we had the traditional Portuguese steak and fried cod. The cod itself is almost like a 2-person dish, my partner was full after half of the fish consumed. For dessert I know they are known for the Apple strudel, but I had chocolate mouse, which was a pleasant surprise, it’s a savoury sweet flavour dessert, so so creamy and intense. Services was great and the place is beautiful! Whoever did the interiors deserve a pat on the shoulder! We came in a Thursday with no reservation, but I can see this place to be fully booked for dinner. Overall we are super happy with the meal, two dollar signs is also an accurate description. Thank you for the amazing lunch! Will definitely recommend to anybody visiting Braga!!!!
Zee — Google review
Great place for a lovely dinner. - Lovely inner patio with an amazing atmosphere for great dinner vibes. - Food is INCREDIBLE. Every single dish we saw coming out of the kitchen looked next level. The cod is the freshest I’ve tried so far in Portugal. The chocolate mousse is to die for. - Attentive and very professional staff. - Incredible selection of wines. - Affordable prices for the quality of food and service, way cheaper than we thought it was going to be.

Restaurant
A Cozinha por António Loureiro is a Michelin one-star restaurant located in the old town of Braganca. Chef Antonio Loureiro's culinary approach combines creativity and tradition, using local and seasonal ingredients to create sophisticated yet authentic dishes. The tasting menu highlights the rich produce of the Tras-os-Montes region, offering a dining experience that celebrates Portuguese flavors.
Everything was exquisite, we genuinely enjoyed our lunch. Antonio and the entire team were incredibly attentive and delivered exceptional service throughout. A truly delightful experience!
Irene C — Google review
We had a diner for 6 people at A Cozinha in Guimarães. This was a memorable, relaxed, evening to experience an exquisite trip through revisited portuguese flavors and food products. Vegetables, fruits, fish and meat well known of the north of Portugal were the basis for the complete meal. Tasty and visually appealing starters were the successful prelude for excellent starters and main courses. Finally, we still had a small space left to enjoy some shared desserts. The wines list offered a large choice and we were very happy with a Dona Francisca (Douro, vinhas velhas). The restaurant room space was very agreable and the attentive service was enjoyable. Of note, this was a very young team in the kitchen and doing the table service under the supervision of Antonio Loureiro. Globally, this was my best food experience in a one star Michelin restaurant. There might be some bias here as I am portuguese charmed by flavors of my youth, but I honestly loved it. I warmly recommend a visit to A Cozinha to enjoy the excellence of portuguese tastes. This restaurant combined with the vibrant atmosphere of Guimarães packed on its well preserved historical center is certainly worth the trip.
Paulo T — Google review
Outstanding quality! I’ve been here more than ten times over the years, and every visit has been memorable. The chef is truly exceptional, the dishes are beautifully crafted, and the desserts are always creative and seasonal. Prices are very fair for the level of fine dining offered an absolute must-visit in Guimarães.
Dr A — Google review
Excellent dining experience, very deserving of its Michelin star. Service was incredibly friendly and attentive and personal. Beautifully designed space and nice little touches that felt both cozy and modern without feeling stuffy or overly formal. And the welcome glass of sparkling wine was a very nice touch. Well-crafted dishes with creative flavour compositions and presentation, and perfectly paired wines. Perfectly cooked proteins. Easily one of the top 3 Michelin starred restaurants in Portugal in my opinion. I hope to eat here again one day!
Terence C — Google review
Exceptionally good food. Great service that matched the food. Staff and food made it a memorable meal. We had the tasting menu. Very well accomplished. The wines were very good and the pairing worked well. They fully deserve their michellin star. We went there for my birthday and I had told my partner not to tell them. He had told them it was for a special occasion and a small delicious mini cake was produced. There was no need, but it was a really lovely gesture from them. 5 stars and a place to return.
Joao F — Google review
Our second time here and it doesn't disappoint. Innovative, modern cooking with a twist on some traditional dishes. Excellent service and very knowledgeable, friendly staff. Menu changes seasonally so we'll be back after Feb! Worth the Michelin recommendation.
Grace G — Google review
Having dined at several Michelin-starred restaurants around the world, I was very much looking forward to experiencing this one in Guimarães. The food was beautifully balanced and flavorful, with each dish explained with care and passion. A special touch was the extra dessert I received for my birthday, a kind and thoughtful gesture that made the evening feel more personal. That said, the service did not always reflect the standard I’ve come to expect at this level. Water glasses were often left empty, the table was not consistently reset, and we waited quite a while for the bill after asking. As the restaurant became busier, the attentiveness seemed to decline. The culinary side of the evening shows real talent, and with more consistency and proactivity in service, this restaurant has the potential to deliver the full Michelin-level experience.

This is an amazing experience. Truly one of a kind: amazing food, nice presentation, and very attentive staff. It is definitely worth your time and attention. We enjoyed it very much and will definitely come back.

Félix Taberna

Restaurant
Félix Taberna is a charming country-style tavern in Braga that exudes a nostalgic ambiance reminiscent of grandmother's house. The vintage decor, adorned with antique typewriters, radios, and lamps, creates a romantic and kitschy atmosphere. The menu features traditional dishes from the Minho region, appealing to diners' memories of the past.
We stopped in for a quick lunch after dropping into the area to see the Arco da Porta Nova before heading to Bom Jesus do Monte in the afternoon, and were not disappointed. They had some patronage (always a good sign) but some empty tables outside with a view of the arch. We ordered the honeyed blood sausages, the alheira, and the sauteed mushrooms to share alongside the Porca de Murça Reserva wine, which paired beautifully. The blood sausages were rich and sweet, and the sauteed mushrooms were extremely earthy and flavorful.

Always a great experience. Friendly staff. Great food. A couple vegetarian options. Wonderful vibe. Reservations are a good idea on weekends and throughout the summer.

A must in Braga. Excellent value for money. Wine choices aren't wide, but the quality is good. Fish was perfect, fresh and well cooked. Portions are generous and can be shared. Starters are for one person. Homemade cakes and desserts. Porto wine well priced. Staff is helpful and friendly. We were two people and had olives, cod patanisca, pastry sausage, grilled bass, grilled cod, lemon cake, two bottles of wine, two port wines. The bill was 70,45 €

Good, authentic food, attentive servers, and a lovely spot to sit outdoors and step away from the tourist crowds for a while.

Had lunch yesterday at this restaurant and ordered a patisca with rice, a friend was with me and she ordered something called lombo (meat wrap in bacon and a crusty dough with a side of veggies). Hers was delicious but mine was bland, I had to ask for salt as the fish and the rice didn't have any flavor, but I don't like to waste food and it took some time to bring our food so I just finished the plate. The place is so pretty and is like a cosy space, it was fresh, small and the service was also so good. I'll definitely go back and try some other dish 🤗

Vigo Airport

Airport
Small airport but nice and quiet, only around 10 flights a day, no queue through security, and staff spoke very good English. Few food choice and duty free. Drinking facilities near each toilet. What more do you need from an airport.
Gary F — Google review
A small airport that provides a fast travel experience. The airport is very clean and the duty-free shop provides a good range of products. The staff are friendly and helpful. The airport is a short distance from the main area of Vigo. The security control is fine to pass through and they provide assistance. The experience with the check-in is dependent on the airline. Unfortunately, ours was very bad, but this was not the airport's fault. It is easy to get to gates and information on boards is useful. A good small airport.

positive: nice small and convenient airport! negative: behave of ryanair staff extremely rude and targeting bag size over charges to an extreme level. And inefficiency of passport control, too slow and manual, expect 30min waiting when arriving form UK, 30min it there is only one flight!
Cláudia A — Google review
It is a small airport but with a great customer service and comfortable areas. Most of the cafes and stores are in the boarding zone.
Juaísca R — Google review
Small nice clean airport! 20 minutes away from downtown, $25 or so taxi fares
Somthing T — Google review
It is a nice and small airport. One of the main advantages os it is that you have much more time as going from the entrance through the security check and to the boarding door it shouldn't take you longer than 10 minutes. Forget about the stress of huge airports. It also has all the things you might need from a bar to car rentals. Really nice airport.
Alejandro F — Google review
Bright and clean, small(er) airport with a few cafes and shops. The only long lines were at the check-in. Excellent gift shop with many Galician specialties for last minute souvenirs. Rental car drop-off could not be closer!
Inside E — Google review
There is a shuttle bus to the city center just in front of the airport. The service is every 30 mini, 1,4 Euro. The bus doesn’t accept the credit card, only accept less than 10 euro note. Here is the time table!

Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport

International airport
Airport
Transportation infrastructure
Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport, located in Porto, is a modern and airy terminal that efficiently handles both international and domestic flights. With its stunning architecture featuring high ceilings and bright windows, the airport creates a welcoming atmosphere for travelers. Despite being smaller than some major airports, it boasts an organized layout that allows for easy navigation without the chaos often found in larger hubs. The facilities are well-maintained and cater to passenger needs effectively.
Very well organised and well managed airport with great facilities and food outlets. However, most of the stuff at duty free shops, perfumes and liquor, are a bit overpriced. These items can be bought cheaper outside.

Porto’s airport was nicely laid out, smooth and easy to use. We arrived and departed the plane to the tarmac (no jetway) - clear signage to exit. Upon departure, the upper departure drop-off area was very busy, but worked well (first 10 min is free). Not surprisingly, the path from security checkpoint to the departure gates goes through the duty-free shop and there are lots of shops to buy all sorts of items & food. Downsides: very limited seating in the departure gates, and only a few restrooms so lines were pretty bad. Might have been busy time, but the cleanliness of the restrooms could have been better.

The airport itself is nice although we had a poor experience doing baggage drop with TAP (Air Portugal). Massive queue. No one managing the queue for ages until they realised people would miss flights then they began to sort it. Staff at drop off nice though. Security check normal pace. The shops have a definite mark up over buying souvenirs and food in Porto itself, so don't wait to buy at the airport. Great little play area for kids near Gate 35.

A decent airport and it has plenty of places beyond security to grab food n drink while you wait for your plane. The airport itself is not a very large one which leads to much reduced walking times to the gates compared to the huge airports of many European capital cities. The security luggage checking area never seems to take very long and I don't remember ever being delayed there

Wow, what a beautiful and effective airport! You can fill your water bottle after security or the bathroom taps (its cold water and long line at the water station). Lots of places to relax and watch the sunset (!) over the ocean. Only thing missing is bag drop where you just do the check in and drop your bag and head to security with no waiting - you’ll still need to check in at a desk that opens two hours before your flight, so not much point in coming much earlier than that. Check in and security was fast though.

Passport control slow, facility busy and not very clean flush bottom don’t touch it, city transport perfect not need to pay for taxi 5£ for the train, the tranvía is very slow to be honest but fir the price is ok, don’t get out the airport to take the train is inside guys just check the sign on the floor and fallow it.
Berto A — Google review
Smaller airport, only one cafe or restaurant to have refreshments before check in. A lot of places to sit and wait for your check in is ready. Inside close to boarding gates there are fast food, cafes and restaurants.

The bathrooms were flooded with water. There were not enough water filling stations. Wifi works fine.
