Restaurant
Madigan's Waterfront is a charming riverside restaurant located on the Occoquan River in Historic Occoquan, offering patio seating and a lively tiki bar. This locally owned establishment specializes in seafood, steaks, and pasta dishes. Visitors can enjoy live entertainment including bands, piano bar performances, dueling pianos, and special events. The venue also features a fully stocked bar and dance floor for patrons seeking great entertainment in Northern VA.
I was here with the Michiganders on the Road tour group and had the stuffed flounder. Wow! It was delicious and a very ample portion. The veggies were well prepared and a good complement to the dish. The salad that came with the dinner was good and was served with a very soft and tasty roll...I could have eaten several more!

Best orange crush I've had in 10 years or so... tried the salmon bowl & fish tacos; both were splendid. Sits on the waterfront so the ambiance is dynamite AND they host live music; which is ALWAYS a plus.
Getit G — Google review
Been wanting to try this place for years because it's right on the river, just never got a chance since I live an hour away. Came here on labor day for supper with a group of friends. Service here was absolutely awful. We asked for refills on our waters, waited 30 minutes and they didn't even fill everyone's cups (had to get her to come back). Had to constantly ask the entire time. The crab soup had literally no crab in it and the vegetables reminded me of the trio of vegetables you get from a frozen bag. Side caesar salad was over-dressed and just okay, definitely not worth a $5 upcharge. I was there with a party of 6, and the food didn't come out together. 4 people received their food, 15+ mins later another dish came out, and mine was at least another 5 minutes after that. By the time the last dish came out, everyone had finished their meal. They completely forgot about my meal until someone else said something and it was brought out with cold rice (they even admitted it was sitting there and they had forgotten about it). The crab cakes are a lie. They look very lumpy on top until you open it, see picture. They basically put lump crab on top of special or claw crab with filler. The bottom is very mushy. The poke bowl was just whatever, I wouldn't call it a poke bowl. The tuna was fresh though. The old bay chips didn't have any seasoning to speak of. The manager or someone tried to rectify the situation but couldn't change the fact we sat there for over two hours, waited a very long time for water, and food didn't come out at the same time. This place wasn't even busy, maybe a quarter of the tables. Can't imagine coming on a day when they're busy. They also charge a 4% credit card fee. Overall it was a good night with great company but I can't recommend this place and wouldn't come back.

Have been here many times..most times service has been fine. This time service was subpar. Several items ordered were forgotten and even after asking weren't brought out. Manager made things right which helped. Crab bisque had little to no crab. May have been an off night but was disappointed.
M W — Google review
The food here is very good! The cheese board and burger were very good and well done. The service is very good and attentive! The atmosphere is relaxing and has a good vibe! There is an outdoor area for eating also! The prices are decent for the area, they do charge a 4 percent fee for credit cards, but, as a small business I can understand them charging the fee. A nice place with a good vibe and food!
Albert R — Google review
We were a little hesitant to eat lunch here because of the reviews, but the waterfront patio was pet friendly, the menu looked good and the weather was nice. Server and hostess were great, they brought out water for our dogs and the food was good. We got a French dip and the crab cake platter and were happy with both. Portions are generous too. I would come back next time we’re in Occoquan.

First time here and we absolutely enjoyed our experience! The food and the drinks were amazing. I want to add that if you want wings as an appetizer, order them before you even sit down. They take a very long time to cook. The wings came out with our main course meal. However they were definitely worth the wait. Delicious! For our main course meal we order the Stuffed flounder, Salmon with crab meat and the dirty chicken. Food was cooked to perfection. Our waitress was a sweetheart and she made sure we were happy. Great restaurant and friendly staff.
Brittany B — Google review
Madigan is located at the Occoquan River in the small history old town. It would be nice to sit in the waterfront porch to see all people playing on the water in a cool day. We decided to sit inside because of the summer high heat. The inside is nice but has an old house smell. Being a seafood restaurant a few flies flying around. Service and environment is good. For the food, I like the Salmon Quinoa salad very much. The seafood bowl has a good combination of item, but could be done better. Fried sweet corn fritter and crab cake is ok. Oysters are fresh and nice.

The Black Sheep Restaurant

American restaurant
The Black Sheep Restaurant is a charming and rustic dining spot located in the historic Thomasson Barn. This woods-chic space offers a diverse menu featuring international cuisine made with locally sourced ingredients. From simple BLTs to more refined dishes like miso-sake sea bass, the restaurant caters to a wide range of tastes.
What an absolutely stunning place! The building itself is grand and impressive, and both the inside and outside are beautifully designed. The chandeliers, high ceilings, and overall atmosphere make it perfect for parties, gatherings, or even just a special night out. The food was excellent—not overly salty, perfectly balanced, and full of flavor. Everything from the appetizers to the main dishes was spot on. This place truly combines elegance, taste, and a welcoming vibe. Highly recommended!
Munjin — Google review
The food was absolutely delicious, and the presentation was pure art. The atmosphere and the price were both perfect. Our server, Hillary, was outstanding—she answered all of our questions with care, was extremely kind, and truly perfect in every way. The menu changes every six months, parking lots is available about a minute away, the restroom is on the first floor, and the restaurant itself is located on the second floor.

My Husband and I came here for my 30th Birthday dinner. We had a very nice dinner! Our server was very kind. We had the Patatas Bravas for an appetizer and it was delicious. I had a glass of delicious prosecco and one of the BEST espresso Martinis I've ever had! My husband and I both had the Wague burger which was phenomenal! Everything was cooked to perfection. To finish off they treated us to slice of the Bourbon Bread pudding that was to die for! They also gave me a signed birthday card which was very sweet! I only reduced 1 star for atmosphere because it was a tad hard to see and hear. The restaurant is full of beautiful low hanging chandeliers and this really impacted my vision. This is no fault to the restaurant but i wear glasses and the lighting from the chandeliers was drastically causing my eyes to have trouble seeing due to my astigmatism. I can only compare it to driving at night and having oncoming cars lights in your face. This might be something to keep in mind when being seated in the main dining room if you wear glasses. If I could do it over I would ask for one of the booths that are off to the sides so the 20 chandeliers arent all in my direct line of sight. It can also be very loud since it is right next to the main stage so once music starts, it gets very loud in the restaurant. Make sure to check show times and keep this in mind when booking dinner reservations if you want a more quiet evening. Overall it was a delicious dinner and I hope to be back again to try more off the menu
Kelly A — Google review
I heard great things about the restaurant and the food lived up to the hype. Not only was the food delicious, the serving sizes are large. There are very few times when my son can't finish his plate. He was barely able to finish the burger before he tapped out. The service was also incredible. Our waitress was very attentive and we felt very welcomed by the staff. We definitely will visit again.
Kyle P — Google review
What an amazing experience! The food was delicious, hot, fresh and came out in a timely manner! The decor and atmosphere was inviting and warm! But the star of the show was our server, Jake (Jacob). Not only did he offer options at every new course but he was so warm, funny and friendly. Will absolutely be returning!
Annais D — Google review
Fantastic restaurant! I got here 1 hour before closing and they were able to fit us in. Food was excellent and the price was good too! My table had the pork chop, porterhouse steak, as well as the short rib/garlic shrimp apps. Everything was melt in your mouth tasty and fresh. Would recommend making the drive all the way out to Manassas for this food!
Jame A — Google review
Food was absolutely exceptional! When we first entered we were greeted by the luxurious interior and overall atmosphere which was very cozy and formal. We ordered our dishes and they gave us a free bread starter! It was fresh and fluffy and chewy and came with a well seasoned whipped butter! After the bread our meals came, I ordered the fish tacos, it was crispy fish, a salsa that was tropical and tangy with juicy mango and topped with a creamy almost goat-cheesey-esque sauce? Whatever it was it was delicious. And topped with aromatic cilantro and a side of tender, crunchy, spiced fries. The meal was delicious, since the occasion was for a family members' birthday, they gave a complimentary cake and hand written happy birthday! Service was fantastic and servers were very kind and patient. We will definitely be returning for another special event and would totally recommend!
Ahrie C — Google review
Went here for a late brunch on a Saturday. We did wait for a table since we didn’t have reservations but they were able to accommodate us on their second floor patio, where we got to hear the live music playing outside. The eggs Benedict with smoked salmon was delicious, made even better by the amazing sautéed mushrooms I ordered on the side. The biscuit trio was good, but too much biscuit to filling ratio and too sticky to pick up and eat. The wagyu sliders were tasty, but well done instead of medium. The hush puppies were good with the honey butter, but the bread they brought out with molasses butter was even better. The service was fantastic, everyone was friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend this restaurant. I appreciated that they had a kids menu so our son had options he wanted as well.

Shakin Crab

Mentioned on

$$$$affordable
Seafood restaurant
Shakin Crab is a cozy seafood spot known for its delicious Cajun-style dishes and well-seasoned crab offerings. Located at 9886 Liberia Avenue, the restaurant provides a warm and inviting atmosphere with rustic, nautical accents. Visitors praise the freshness of the seafood, particularly highlighting the flavorful crab legs and fresh shrimp. The friendly service, especially from server Mike, adds to the overall dining experience.
Food is really good. Been coming here for a while. Flavor and spice is good and not watered down like a lot of spots. Came out hot and the servers are really nice. Cute spot for a date night or to bring children. Just be careful walking and don’t wear heels … floor is really slippery (I guess all that butter and sauce lol). But the place is clean.
Mya P — Google review
Review for Shakin' Crab – Manassas, VA I was truly disappointed with my recent visit. I ordered two orders of calamari—10 pieces each—for a total of 20 pieces. For just $2 more, I could’ve added fries, but I declined, expecting a decent portion of seafood for the price. Unfortunately, what I received fell short. The fried tilapia looked more like chicken strips—definitely not what I expected. The soft-shell crabs didn’t have any shell at all, which raised some red flags. I didn’t have the time to weigh my seafood platter, but I strongly suspect I was shorted by a few pounds. I even spoke with the person behind the bar to confirm the portion size of the calamari, and they assured me it was correct. Still, it didn’t add up for what I paid. First impressions matter, and this one missed the mark. For the money spent, I expected better quality, portion size, and presentation.
Big W — Google review
Came to this restaurant without knowing anything about it. So there was no pre expectation or judgment. All 5 of us enjoyed the food. Shrimp (w.head annd w/o head) was juicy and delicious. Enjoyed the corn and potatoes. Both of my daughters ordered crab legs and they loved it too.
Progga A — Google review
Its a great place for seafood in the area. Prices are good and not overpriced. I ordered fried oysters with cole slaw. This wasn't very good, but the cole slaw is great and a big portion. Next was the fried shrimp basket and it is spot on fantastic!! Big shrimp with a nice batter and very tasty. BIG order of fries that come with it. Atmosphere is neat with s seaside flair. The place was crowded. Most orders were for the seafood boil and the yummy aroma of spices and garlic all around. Next time that's what I'm getting. Great wait staff too. Give it a try.
Terry Y — Google review
I've been coming to this restaurant for a couple years and unfortunately it seems to have gone a bit downhill recently. The seafood boils are good (fair portions, flavorful, a few dipping options to choose from). Nothing that will blow your socks off but a good spot to get your seafood fix. You are given complementary popcorn, a sanitary wipe, gloves, and a bib for eating which are nice as well. However, the service has seemingly gone downhill in my experience. I was recently here for an event which had been reserved and notified ahead of time. Upon arrival, it was easy to tell that they were understaffed as the waitresses were running around having to balance a larger party as well as several other tables. I noticed that there was also a manager at the bar who instead of helping his busy employees, was seen on his phone and lounging around several times. Due to our service being slow, we asked the manager for a few items and he immediately scolded at the already stressed waitress for not tending to us. While he did get us our items afterwards, his reaction prompted the waitress to do the same which she later found out was not necessary. And you can take a good guess as to what the manager was up to several minutes later. While this was not the only observed incident, it's a classic case of poor management and communication. Not sure if the owners of the restaurant have changed but definitely a poor experience after having no issues with this establishment in the months prior.
Lorenzo — Google review
We enjoyed our experience the food was great. I've been to other roaches we're it didn't seem like the value matched the prices but it did here. Took out my daughter for Valentine's Day and she loved it as well got the special #1 with Mild Shakin Sauce, 5 mild buffalo wings and A calamari platter all for us to share. Will definitely come back at some point. We also liked adding to the decor and writing on the walls. Just ask for a marker before you leave!
Mawuli V — Google review
Server was very sweet and attentive. The atmosphere was as expected. The food came in decent time and flavors was as expected. I knocked off stars (kinda want to knock it down more) because I ordered shrimp with the head on in my bag and the shrimp was not cleaned. Not sure if it’s normal because I asked for the head on. Either way, it’s gross.

First time at Shakin Crab. The service was amazing; Carlos was the best! Made sure we had everything we needed. The food was delicious, was very comfortable; had a fun birthday celebration with a friend. Thanks.

Panera Bread

Cafe
Panera Bread is a popular bakery/cafe chain known for its delicious sandwiches, salads, and bread as well as offering free WiFi. A new Panera Bread location is set to open in Woodbridge with a drive-thru option. Customers appreciate the convenience of using the app to order food and the friendly service provided by the staff. While some locations may lack sufficient outlets for electronic devices, the overall experience at Panera Bread is enjoyable.
I absolutely love this Panera location. They have a wonderful indoor and outdoor seating arrangement. This cafe has counter seating and a lobby full of natural light. The store is extremely clean and wonderfully decorated. In addition, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. There is plenty of free parking in the parking lot.
Grace M — Google review
We usually stop at Panera Bread restaurants on our vacation trips and this Panera was great. My wife used one of the self ordering stations and it was easy to use however it was not accepting the points we had even though she had put her phone number in. One of the ladies behind the desk offered to help and she was able to input our points in their own station. The latte coffee was good. The Chipotle chicken sandwich and barley bagel were delicious. The egg and cheese sandwich was OK. Surprisingly all their sandwiches look like samples to me and I have to order at least two to feel less hungry;) Thanks Panera.
Kamran A — Google review
I’ve been trying to get a slice of orange cranberry bread from Panera for a week now. I’ve stopped in four different times, at different times of day, and every time they were out. Today they finally had it, and I was told I could only order one slice. After all that, that’s all I get. I don’t complain often, but this was something I was genuinely looking forward to. This morning I knocked over a full iced tea in my bedroom. Had to clean it up before work. Which has been on my mind all day because what if I missed a spot and there’s just sticky stuff waiting for me when I return home. Stopping at Panera felt like a small win, something simple to look forward to. This felt like the last straw, which was coincidental because they were also out of straws. First they get rid of the cranberry orange muffins only to bring something new to replace it but in small portions regardless of how much someone is willing to pay. Unfortunately I will be back but hopefully they remove this rule because I don’t know how much more of this I can take. Panera should do better. I’m 6’2 by the way.
Jace H — Google review
An internal training event took up half of the dining area. Tomato soup was under the tabletop and got on our daughter’s clothes. My wife stepped in mac-n-cheese. Three meals totaled $43.
Kirby W — Google review
This is my version of “what I ordered (pic pulled from Panera website) versus what I got.” What I got (on the right) has completely changed my feelings about Panera. While I was once a regular customer, this disappointing experience has me seriously reconsidering whether I’ll continue visiting at all. If this sandwich reflects their current quality standards, I won’t be back and will be searching for a new place that delivers a better deli sandwich.

Carmello's of Old Town Manassas is a classy chophouse offering a diverse menu featuring seasonal New American, Portuguese, and Italian dishes. The restaurant boasts an extensive wine list to complement its fine dining experience. With operating hours until late evening on most days, it provides the perfect setting for special occasions or intimate gatherings with friends.
The service, food, wine, atmosphere, and everything about it is just incredible. We had Renee as our server and she was an absolute star. I highly recommend anything with their steak or lamb as it was incredible. They have a wonderful selection of wines that pair nicely with everything. We will be returning.

We went on a Sunday evening and enjoyed the calmer atmosphere which makes it easier to enjoy a conversation than busier places. The food was really good, especially the veal and the gnocchis, and the sea scallops we had for appetizers. The menu changed recently we were told, so I’m putting it here

5/5. I took my fiancé here for dinner tonight for her birthday, it was our first time eating here. Start to finish very impressed, the ambiance was classy, our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable. The food was delicious. We had declined dessert as we were too full but our waiter insisted on a complimentary crème brûlée for my fiancé. Everything was great, we highly recommend and will be back in the future.

We hadn’t been to Carmello’s in Old Town Manassas in several years, so we recently went back with friends. They offer a corking fee, we were told it was $20 when we called, but when we got the bill, it was $25, which isn’t too bad, as we brought 2 bottles to share. Everything about the experience was excellent! Our server, Brian (Hispanic guy with longer hair tied back) was very very good! I’m calling him out, because they need to ensure all their servers are of his quality and training. He was spot-on with taking care of our table, corking and pouring our wine, making recommendations and telling us about their menu, etc. His great service definitely made the meal and experience that much better! All the items we got were great! Yes, the prices are a little high for PWC, but once you see the platings and taste the food, you’ll agree that it’s worth it! We’ll definitely return!
F'burg F — Google review
Several years ago my wife went to a school function here and the food was excellent. We decided to come here for my birthday. The dining room was about half full. Our server was pleasant but not friendly. We ordered drinks and they took 20 minutes to arrive. When we questioned this she said she had to wait on the bartender. We had to remind her twice to bring the bread. It took another 20 minutes to get soup and appetizers and then a full hour to get our entrees. The food was good but not great. We ordered the chef’s specials which we had heard were always excellent so we were a little disappointed. We were a party of 4 and didn’t order dessert and it took 2 and a half hours to finish the meal. After spending over 300 dollars we expected a little more

This is a top shelf place to eat! If you like quality and are willing to pay for it, you will find it here! Everything in this establishment is first class! The food, the people and the decor! Leave the kids at home please! This is a great place for special occasions. If you get on their mailing list they will send you a really birthday offer! Alice is the owner and she is an amazing lady! Enjoy your visit! I promise you will love it! They need to work on bringing back some of the old charm and serving the food hot, my oysters came out cold. Very subpar for this restaurant.
Steve P — Google review
Took my wife here for our anniversary and the service was top notch. They gave us complimentary wine and dessert which we truly appreciated. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Overall, it was a great and special experience. One of the best restaurants in Old Town Manassas!

Monza is a contemporary establishment that offers wood-fired pizza, Italian main dishes, and cocktails in a warm and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant, which is locally owned by Alice, provides exceptional food and drinks. It has gained popularity since its opening due to its excellent service and high-quality hospitality. Monza also features a patio area for outdoor dining with live music to enhance the overall ambiance. It is highly recommended for those looking for a great place to hang out and enjoy delicious Italian cuisine in Old Town.
We came here for lunch and the service was great. We were welcomed in before they even opened. We ordered the chicken parmigiana and flatbread pizza. Both were very good. Our only disappointment was that complimentary rolls or bread was not offered with our meals like most Italian restaurants.
Jenn B — Google review
Excellent service, thanks Zachery! And others that politely picked up empty dishes as they passed. They even stopped to pick up items on the floor/ground which is not often done in other restaurants. The food was average this time. And I feel an extra $12 to add 5 shrimp to my Alfredo fettuccine is not reasonable. Furthermore the shrimp have tails. That's nothing but messy and difficult to eat without attracting unwanted attention. Am I supposed to lick my fingers or completely mess up my napkin? Just take the tails off please!

I had an amazing experience here! The atmosphere was welcoming, the drinks were perfectly crafted, and the service was top-notch. Spencer and Danny were outstanding bartenders!! Friendly, attentive, and incredibly skilled. Their energy and professionalism truly elevated the whole experience. Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for great cocktails and even better service!!

Myself, and someone else I dined with had ordered salmon primavera. They ask you how you'd like your salmon cooked, and we each said something different; didn't matter, they both came out well past well done. The vegetables were unseasoned as well; it was an unfortunate meal. What really made the experience bad was that our server was either really rude, or poorly translated his sarcasm to us. Either way, I wouldn't return. The one positive is that it had a lovely outdoor dining area, but there are several restaurants on Battle St, let alone within old town Manassas, that can offer you that AND good food and service.

Chris was absolutely amazing! He was personable, fun, and made the whole experience a blast. Honestly, he’s the only reason I’ll be coming back — he made the night! It’s rare to find a bartender who can make you feel that welcome and entertained at the same time. 10/10 recommend grabbing a drink from Chris at Man’s!

We went for a girls lunch and this place did not disappoint. I was thrown off by the online pictures but after taking my seat I couldn’t keep my eyes off everything coming out of the kitchen. It looked good and smelled good. I did give the service a five star my bff mentioned that she felt as if she didn’t get enough fries and the response was they weighed them prior. Not sure how I felt about that what a few more fries would have hurt I don’t know. Everything outside of that was outstanding. I’m definitely going again. I want to try the pot roast. Everything was really good there in terms of food and drinks.

We dined at the restaurant on a Saturday evening and they had live music next to the restaurant. The ambiance was soothing and relaxing with good weather and awesome singers. They don't take reservations, but the restaurant was pretty big, and they had a lot of servers, so the service was great, and the servers checked on us a few times during the dinner. I tried one of the non-alcoholic beverages, and it was awesome. The Rockefeller oysters, Margarita pizza, and the beef were good. I ordered tortellini with pink sauce, and it was okay. I wish they had added more mushrooms and chicken, but it was less in comparison to other places. Other than that, we had a great time at the restaurant and will try again if we are in the area.

Coming back from Richmond, we randomly picked this place for dinner and so glad that we did. Great atmosphere, excellent service, thanks Shaun. He was so courteous always a smile on his face. We sat outside so my dog was happy too. Great food. Certainly will go back.

The owner's hands-on approach ensures customer satisfaction and comfort, while the updated interior adds to the restaurant's charm. Food was so delicious 😋 and plentiful. I had pack the rest of mine to go. The waitress was very nice and helpful. I couldn't decide what I wanted to eat so she made recommendations for me and I was not disappointed. I went with the trio of their most popular dishes; Alfredo, chicken parmigiana, and lasagna and I enjoyed my food. I will definitely return.

I checked this place out a few months ago and could not stop thinking about great it was. Came to celebrate Mother’s Day with my mom and family friends yesterday. The service was great, food was delicious and flavorful, and the atmosphere felt wonderful. Anything you order off the menu will turn out better than you’d imagine. It’s hard finding a good restaurant that checks off all the boxes for how amazing it is. Definitely order dessert with a coffee/tea.

My sister and I had a pleasant experience at Bella Vita. It’s located in a big shopping center, interior is clean, cute and aesthetically pleasing and super spacious, perfect for date nights or family gatherings. The food is great, especially their garlic bread, soft, fluffy and airy, and definitely check out their happy hour if you can! We got the mussels and Italian meatballs and both were great, but our favorite was the salsa verde salad with crispy pita bread. The salad was so refreshing, tangy and delicious, highly recommend. My top favorite item. For entrees, pasta was cooked perfectly, al dente! I was a fan of the lamb bolognese, creamy and rich. The rigatoni de carne had plenty of proteins, the tomato sauce is tangy but on the sweeter side though. Lastly, you have to get their cheesecakes, not too sweet and a must try! Service was always on point. Servers were all super attentive and friendly. Food was sent out with the right timing, no complaints!

Bella Vita (Manassas, VA) – A Hidden Halal Italian Gem This review praises Bella Vita, an authentic halal Italian restaurant in Manassas, Virginia — a refreshing change from the usual Desi or Middle Eastern halal spots. The ambiance, service, and food are top-notch and surprisingly affordable. My wife’s knack for finding new places, made a us visit the place and we had reservation for a Friday night visit. We were warmly welcomed and reassured by the staff (non-Desi but very knowledgeable about halal) that all food is halal and cooked separately with no alcohol used. We enjoyed unlimited garlic bread buns and ordered a variety of dishes including: • Tortellini Milano • Chicken Florentine • Sirloin Risotto • Large Supreme Pizza Everything was cooked to perfection, beautifully plated, and full of authentic Italian flavor. The staff was attentive, respectful of halal requirements, and enhanced the overall experience. Verdict: A must-try halal Italian spot with delicious food, great ambiance, and exceptional service — far more authentic than chain places like Olive Garden.

We really liked their food. Italian food is my least favorite cuisine, but their pasta was delicious! Their complimentary garlic bread/roll is also really good. Customer service was good too. Crowded on the weekends but we still got table right away.

Warning: the bread is absolutely drenched in butter and super addicting, don't come here on a diet! I like that there's a create your own pasta option. I got papperdelle egg noodles with the pasta your way, super chewy and yummy.

Visited this place on a recommendation from a friend you all did not disappoint! My server jasmine was absolutely wonderful and very helpful little suggestions. Live in NJ i have had my fair share of Italian food but this is by far the best I have in the DMV. Will definitely come back and visit!

SEMIFREDDO Italian Cuisine is a charming restaurant in Manassas, VA that offers a delightful selection of pasta, meat dishes, seafood, and desserts. The establishment prides itself on its unpretentious atmosphere and features professionally trained chefs who meticulously prepare authentic Italian cuisine. Guests can also indulge in an array of cocktails and wine while enjoying the fantastic ambiance.
We have been to Semifreddo quite a few times and absolutely love it. Its innocuous location is deceiving as to the high quality of the experience within. Think of The Bear and how unexpected it would be to find such a fine restaurant on plain street and attached to a takeout sandwich shop. Semifreddo is the surprise. The interior is inviting and luxurious. The food is simply delicious and the service is impeccable. It is a highlight on our date night calendar. Reservations are recommended.

Nice Italian American fare. Very attentive service. Carpaccio was a little chewy with tough stringy part. Beets on the salad were canned not fresh. Fish of the day a little dry. Ravioli had good flavor.

My friend and I accidentally stumbled into this fancy place and realized we weren't dressed for such a nice looking restaurant! We thought we might have to come back another time, but instead were greeted with above and beyond respect and care. The food was absolutely phenomenal. They have $10 desserts which I will definitely be coming back for. And the pasta with clams and white wine was my favorite here compared to any other place. This location would be perfect for a date night. And everyone was so kind and attentive that they made us feel special. I will most definitely be coming back!

Visited on a special day and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, although seating felt slightly too close to the party seated next to us. It was not close enough to be an issue, just closer than I prefer. The service was attentive, very helpful, and worked great as a team. The dishes were wonderfully tasty and very appealing in presentation (special duck breast & cheese platter, lamb chops, veal saltimbocca, and special desserts). Portion size was as expected for the price. Very clean and it appeared to have a small private room. Parking in the shopping center free lot was plentiful for our evening meal. Reservation was flexible to accommodate our delay due to traffic. We were not the only table celebrating a special occasion, which is another indication of the quality and service. Great little spot with a recipe for many years of success.

We are new to the area and love Italian food. We just so happened to stumble upon this hidden gem! What an ABSOLUTE DELIGHT! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with all smiles and exceptional customer service. The food is all homemade and so packed with flavor. Every bite was a joy. The server was very knowledgeable and attentive. He always made sure we had what we needed and covered all the specials with us. I really wish I remembered his name, so I could give him a shout out for being fantastic! The music was quiet jazz renditions of modern songs, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Overall, it was a great atmosphere. Now to the show-stoppers: Bread and Olive Oil- I have no idea where they concocted the recipe for this bread, but it was so soft and fluffy. I could not stop eating it. It melts in your mouth. The bread had julienned sweet red bell beppers and zucchini baked on top, which added very nice flavor. After having the bread, I knew that we chose the right place for lunch and I became very excited for the rest of the meal. Appetizer- (Sorry, I can't recall the name. It was one of their specials) Italian sausage over a bed of seasoned lentils. I am not a big fan of lentils and they absolutely made me love them. You could taste the fresh herbs and spices in the sausage and lentils. So good!! We will hopefully get to have this again. Please add it to the menu! Entrees- Ravioli Polpa Di Granchio - the fact that I have never had this combination of homemade crab stuffed ravioli served over lobster bisque soup should be considered a crime. This was absolutely delicioussssss!! I truly cleaned the entire plate, and they are generous portions! Fettuccine Alla Bolognese- (My husband's entree, but I snagged some) This really showcased the amazing handmade pasta! Perfectly proportioned sauce to pasta ratio. So hearty and flavorful with lots of veal. It really hit the spot! Dessert- Tiramisu- Absolutely house-made. Fluffy and fresh. It is probably the best tiramisu I have ever eaten, and I order this dessert often. Just try some! Semifreddo- Oh.My.Gosh. This was an absolute delight. We have never had this before, so we weren't exactly sure how it would come presented, but it was absolute perfection. It was so light and refreshing. We will be having this again as well. Lol 10/10 WOULD RECCOMEND ALL OF THIS. Please do yourself a favor and treat yourself to this amazing food, service and atmosphere. We will see you all there. Lol

We really like this place. There were five of us this time. We had a wide range of appetizers, entrees, deserts and drinks. All delicious. I don't usually take photos of food but the desserts were worth photos. The service was impeccable as you might be able to ascertain by the photos of the desserts. The chef stopped by to check on us as well. Finally, check the photos for the quality of the atmosphere. We really recommend you visit.

Cafe
Nestled in the charming old town of Occoquan, Grind N Crepe is a delightful little café that offers an array of mouthwatering crepes, both sweet and savory. This hidden gem serves up perfectly thin crepes filled with delicious ingredients like strawberries, blueberries, bananas, and even hot apple compote paired with cheddar or cream. The cozy atmosphere makes it an ideal spot to relax and enjoy a smooth cup of coffee alongside your meal.
Delightful stop!! Sure, the service isn’t FAST; but coffee isn’t meant to be fast. Sit down, enjoy. Espresso is quality. Crepes are delicious. Building is fun and eclectic. Walking around the back to get in, could be confusing; but think of it as an adventure!!
Alyssa J — Google review
Such a cozy and charming café! Their crepes are to die for—perfectly thin, with generous and tasty fillings whether you’re going sweet or savory. The coffee was smooth and aromatic, making it a perfect pairing. Definitely a great spot to chill, catch up with friends, or just enjoy a quiet treat on your own. Loved the vibe!
Nea B — Google review
Delicious crepes in both sweet and savory varieties are served up with excellent coffee in a small storefront hidden off the beaten track but still centrally located in picturesque old town Occoquan. I tried the Aunt Jackie - a sweet crepe filled with strawberries, blueberries and bananas and dusted with powdered sugar and Grandmas crepe filled with hot apple compote and cheddar (or cream if you’d prefer) plus the Nutella latte. Service is quick and friendly and there’s some limited indoor seating as well as plenty of outdoor seating areas (covered and not) to enjoy your food and coffee. On a weekday when I went, it was fairly quiet with most of the customers taking their orders to go. There’s street parking with time limits marked.

I LOVE grind and crepe. It's a perfect coffee spot that has outdoor and indoor seating. Their crepes are huge and delicious. They gave both savory and sweet! In addition their paninis are delicious! I love getting their iced coffee, and then enjoying the oversized connect 4 they have. My daughter loves it.

I especially love coming here for a breakfast crepe and coffee on my days off. The self serve coffee is strong and the crepes are delicious. Pop is my go-to! The staff is always kind.
Nicole T — Google review
Could definitely be much quicker. They need to clean their crepe and grill equipment more often as burnt flavor on both of the orders we got. The veggies tasted nasty and old unfortunately on my savory crepe. Staff talks a lot and goofs around behind counter while customers are waiting. Will try again in a few months when I visit again to see if they have improved.
Meow C — Google review
I'm honestly surprised the reviews were so good because a 4.1 does not represent our experience. We needed a quick bite to tide us over until dinner and we asked some shops and no one had recommended Grind and Crepe and we get it now. We ordered two croissants a chocolate and cookie dough. They were some of the dryest pastries I'd ever had. They were hardly edible. I got a cold brew with caramel and almond milk. Awful. The coffee tasted like burnt water. My sister got a mango and strawberry smoothie and honestly it was strange how flavorless it tasted. The staff were not friendly and the atmosphere and decorations of the restaurant were dark, dirty, sticky, and frankly really off-putting.

Bowling alley
Uptown Alley, located in the Manassas Mall, is a vibrant destination that offers an array of entertainment options. Housed in a former Macy's department store, this expansive venue features bowling lanes, arcade games, and a restaurant serving classic American cuisine and drinks. It's an ideal spot for hosting events like birthday parties, with attentive staff ensuring that every detail is taken care of.
I went to Uptown Alley last night with my friends and had a great time! Our server, Alvin, was super helpful, patient, and made sure we were taken care of the whole night. You could tell he really cared about giving good service. The food and vibe were great too, but he definitely made the experience even better. :)
Chelsea N — Google review
First, the place has a super cool vibe. You can play games, bowl, eat, drink, or enjoy sports on the TVs. The staff was very nice, helpful and accommodating. We bowled, enjoyed pizza and sodas and some of the arcades. The only issue we had was the arcade games. I didn't count, but honestly a very large percentage of the machines are out of order or would take your credits and the game wouldn't work right. It was a bit disappointing. The staff was great to help loads credits back onto the card but we visited 4 machines in a row that took credits and the machines wouldn't work. The ticket spinning wheel, the boxing game, the far right basketball game and the ball drop game next to the massive basketball game. Until they fix those, I would avoid them. Also, the photo booth interior light doesn't work. So you pay the credits and the pictures come out black.

Brought a van full of teen boys today to use the Summer Pass which is totally worth the price which includes bowling, unlimited laser tag and unlimited non-ticket arcade games!! The boys loved the pizza (I mean what teenage boy doesn't love pizza!!!!?) The waitress was very nice and continued to check on the boys throughout our time! Loved the pop music throughout the restaurant and bowling area. Bring napkins with you to the bathrooms, they are doing construction in the girls bathroom and there is dust literally everywhere and no toilet paper in any of the stalls! Thats the only big improvement I recommend - update, clean and check/restock the bathrooms!
Stephtakingontheworld — Google review
There were lots of claw machines and games to play, but none of them were working properly. The claw machines were too loose to grab anything, clearly done on purpose!!!!!!!! Other games were missing balls. We had to keep talking to the employee to get our points back. He was very friendly and helpful, but the whole experience was frustrating and even made my son cry.

Great place to bowel with family or date night. This place is when my boyfriend and I had our first date during covid. I miss the live bands they had. Menu has changed too much. Food quality has declined. My last visit had a burger and fries. The fries were horrible. Drinks were pretty good. I like that they have an arcade as well.
Monica S — Google review
Went to uptown alley for good eats and a friendly competition of bowling. Everything seemed okay until we got to our lane, our game time was running but the pins wouldn’t drop. We went to the service desk 3 times. They switched the lane, yet the next lane wouldn’t work.. so again we had to switch lanes AGAIN… The food … The food at one point in time was unmatched! During this visit for whatever reason the bartender took our order. He was actually pretty cool. The server with pink/purple hair just simply would not open her mouth (manners are still real) so we figured we weren’t her type of people 🤷🏽‍♀️ my voice carries so there’s no way she didn’t hear me. The spring rolls were not fresh, the chicken just was not season and lacked flavor, shrimp was huge (not what they had before) the best thing was probably the quesadilla.. Five stars for the Quesadilla but the overall experience… never again.

Me and a group of friends went bowling, and our server was Alvin. He was very attentive, informative, and overall nice! We enjoyed ourselves, besides the rude lady that tried to antagonize us, who was in a DIFFERENT lane... other than that it was a great time! Very appreciative of Alvin's service!

Baltimore/Washington International Airport

Airport
Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport is a convenient travel hub with direct rail service to Baltimore and Washington, DC. The airport offers free WiFi for travelers. Baltimore is known for its vibrant queer community, rich history, and diverse culture. New arrivals should consider factors like accommodation cost, lifestyle offerings, amenities access, and proximity to work when choosing a neighborhood. Families relocating to Baltimore prioritize family-friendly areas close to good schools.
Stopped thru on a layover mid week/mid summer. I’ve traveled all over the US, my first time at this one and I LOVE this airport!! It’s smaller, easy to navigate, lots of restaurants and food choices. The bathrooms were very clean and love the light system to show open stalls along with the sign outside the bathrooms (all airports need this!) Simple and clean!

I didn't expect that Baltimore airport would be this big and clean. Impressive. The only thing I'm not sure it is a not a good thing or not is the carpet to the gates. It's a bit hard to go with carry on luggage. Not smooth. There are lots of restaurants too. Want to visit Baltimore in the future. This time around was just lay over.

This is one of my favorite airports. It's easy to navigate. I've only been to concourse D. The bathrooms were clean. I enjoyed sitting in the rocking chairs and looking at the planes. Lots of food choices...I saw The Green Turtle, Apple Annie's, Smoothie King, McDonald's, Dunkin' Donuts, and a food market. All the staff I came into contact with was friendly.

Among the hyperspace lanes of the Northeast, BWI shines like a well-placed navigation beacon. A trusted stop on my galactic journeys, this mid-size starport is a key stronghold for Southwest Airlines travelers — where flight plans run smoother than a Jedi’s lightsaber through butter. The layout is compact and efficient — easy to navigate even without a protocol droid or datapad. Food and shopping outposts are plentiful and, surprisingly, BWI is one of the more reasonably priced airports for meals and shops. A rare victory for travelers trying to protect their galactic credits. My go-to dining stop? Leann Chin, where the crew welcomes you like an old friend at the Jedi Temple, and the cuisine is strong with the wok-side of the Force. Behind the blue construction walls, the airport is undergoing a major transformation — a new A/B Connector spanning over 200,000 square feet (that’s roughly the area of two football fields), plus a high-tech baggage system stretching nearly two miles — longer than the Baltimore Harbor Tunnel! Once complete, travelers can expect smoother connections, expanded lounges, and upgraded restrooms worthy of the Galactic Council. Speaking of restrooms — many have already been modernized, offering comfort, space, and cleanliness that would make any traveler breathe a sigh of relief before their next hyperspace jump. ⚠️ Ground Transport Intel: The rental car facility is located off-site at 7432 New Ridge Rd., Hanover, MD 21076. Free airport shuttles run between the terminal and the rental car base, with pickup points at Doors 1, 11, and 16 on the lower level of Arrivals. Just note — shuttle delays can occur during peak hours due to driver shortages, so allow extra time for your mission. Still, the Force flows well at BWI. Friendly staff, fair prices, and visible upgrades make this a top-tier mid-size hub for travelers of all ranks — from Padawan tourists to seasoned Jedi business fliers.
Dain W — Google review
I recently flew through BWI Airport and overall, I had a pretty smooth experience. The airport is easy to get to with good highway access and even train options if you’re coming from DC or Baltimore. Parking is available, though it can get a bit crowded during peak times. The terminals are big but manageable, and I liked that you can walk around without feeling completely lost like in some huge airports. There are plenty of food and shopping options, plus free Wi‑Fi throughout the airport. I also noticed the airport is pretty family‑friendly and has helpful signage to make navigation simple. Security was a little slower than expected during my visit, especially compared to other mid-sized airports, so I’d suggest arriving a bit early just in case. Some areas of the terminal felt a bit dated and congested, but everything was clean and functional. If you’re looking for luxury lounges or high-end retail, this isn’t the airport for that, but for basic comfort and convenience, it works well. The staff were friendly and helpful, and everything ran fairly smoothly even with a busy crowd. Overall, I felt BWI is a solid option for anyone traveling in or out of the Baltimore/DC area. It’s convenient, not overly stressful, and has enough amenities to keep you comfortable.

Everything was outstanding except the transport assistance. I had a checked bag. He insisted on putting the bag on the wheelchair before we were ready, before the tag was put on. Each time a member of my family tried to pull it off the wheelchair he would grab it and shove it under again. We finally got it tagged and he started walking towards tsa. I stopped him and asked him why we still had the checked bag KNOWING there were things in there that could NOT go through TSA. He said it's fine its fine. Don't worry. I'm only able to stand for VERY short periods. I get through scanning, shaking in pain, only for tsa to start going through my checked bag. I tell them it's a checked bag and she's just as confused as me as to why this CHECKED bag is sitting on the conveyor belt with 16oz lotion, hygiene products well over 3oz. She tells me and the transport person the bag has to be taken back out to the delta counter. Now we have to all go all the way back out, drop the bag at Delta and go through TSA all over again. We arrived at the airport at 3:45 am. We got to our gate just before 5:00 am! I love the airport but will now have to go through the inconvenience of bringing my own chair and gate checking it. Not happy
Annie S — Google review
Convenient and easy to navigate. BWI is a solid airport with a good balance of convenience and amenities. It’s smaller than Dulles or Reagan, which makes check-in and security faster, but it can get crowded during peak times. The food court has some nice local options, vegetarian options are less could find only vegetarian salad options and the airport layout is simple enough for first-time travelers. My only complaint is that some gates have limited seating, but overall, it’s a reliable airport experience.
Drsangeeta J — Google review
Super clean restrooms, good selection of restaurants, could use a little more variety of retail options - other than the usual candy/neck pillow/bottled water/books/charging cables stores. Take a look at other major airport offerings for things like Johnson & Murphy, Tumi, and other stores you'd find in an average indoor mall. Thousands of passengers walk by the storefront every day! Great idea though for having a sit-down restaurant on the public/non-security side of the airport for people who might be in the building but not necessarily traveling, like someone picking up or dropping off family or friends. I look forward to passing through again!

Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport

Airport
Sights & Landmarks
Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, located just across the Potomac River in Virginia, offers stunning views of the DC landscape during takeoff and landing. The airport features direct subway service into the city and is known for its easy accessibility. Adjacent to the airport is a park where visitors can experience planes landing from up close. The airport provides a great travel experience with clean facilities, efficient security, and plenty of dining options on each concourse.
Very easy airport to get around and super convenient. Security is smooth, especially with CLEAR. They’ve updated the Admirals Lounge and added a new Centurion Lounge and Capital One Lounge, which are great options if you have access. Big bonus that there’s a Metro stop right at the airport, so it’s really easy to get into D.C.
Dana D — Google review
This airport is the closest to downtown Washington DC. The location is amazing where it is convenient to take Metro Subway. The airport is kind of small but beautiful with good service, clean facilities, and fast WiFi. The view in the air is impressive along the river to the National Mall. I was feeling the airplane would land on the river. However, there are few restrooms at the Southwest terminal after security checks, so I exited for restrooms and went back doing the security check again.

My first time flying in to here was a fairly good experience. It's a smaller, older complex that was easy to navigate through and wasn't crowded at all. The concourse area has quite a few eateries. Everything is close to each other. My only gripe was that the bags took so long to come out, even for a small airport. We waited about 30 minutes. Not a big deal but just saying. Taxi departures were quick and easy. FUN TIPS: Due to its location, I got some excellent shots of the Mall & monuments before landing. They had an American Airlines jet on the tarmac that was painted with the old AA logo and design. Very cool.

A very nice airports! It is very efficient, when we walk to the belt we almost get our luggage immediately! The staff are very nice although it is crowded and busy . There are a lot of restaurants in the airports as well. The transportation is good, can take the metro blue line and yellow lines after walking in 10 minutes. Also the rental cars, uber, taxi and shuttles are very convenient!

A noble stronghold in the capital’s realm – compact, swift, but not without its scrolls of confusion. Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport is a well-guarded outpost near the heart of the empire. Unlike the giant fortresses of Miami or JFK, this one is cozy, efficient, and tailored more for the quick-strike adventurer than the globe-trotting wizard. Security lines? Surprisingly humane. Boarding? Often swift. Location? Unbeatable – mere minutes from the halls of power. But beware: signage is sometimes vague, food options limited like a village inn at midnight, and construction zones can spawn without warning like random encounters. Still, it gets you where you need to go – with honor, dignity, and minimal side quests. A solid 4/5 – the kind of airport where even a cleric wouldn’t lose his patience.
Der T — Google review
This is a pretty cool airport. It's modern, has cool displays, and has a good aesthetic. You can see the Washington monument and the capitol from here across the river, as well as Arlington. Nice amenities, and easy to navigate. However, there is just one really disappointing thing. While a metro station is at the airport, there is no people mover! I sincerely believe all good airports need a people mover. Still, it was great.

Dulles International Airport

International airport
Airport
Dulles International Airport is the main airport serving the Washington D.C. area, located about 30 miles west of the city. The airport features a main terminal designed by Eero Saarinen and offers nonstop domestic and international flights to over 100 destinations with various airlines. While it brings millions of travelers through Virginia each year, some visitors have noted that it could improve its dining options, duty-free shops, and overall facilities.
I’ve been here multiple times and have enjoyed my experiences. Getting around the airport is easy and there are multiple options to go from place to place. The check in area is huge and looks amazing. Security can get busy some days, but is mostly easy to get through. There are plenty of options for food and seating. There are many lounges like the Capital One lounge and Chase Sapphire lounge. If flights are cheap, I recommend flying out of here.
Carter W — Google review
A functional stronghold, but no bard will sing songs about it. Dulles International Airport does the job – like a sturdy keep on the edge of the realm. It gets you where you need to go, but don’t expect enchantments or fanfare. Navigation feels like a side quest with poor map markers, and the shuttle trains between terminals add a touch of time travel (into the early 2000s). Security lines can feel like facing a gatekeeper with way too many riddles. That said, it’s clean, mostly efficient, and has enough food options to keep your party from starving. But ambiance? Let’s just say it’s more “orc camp” than “elven capital.” Verdict: Not a nightmare dungeon, but definitely not a critical hit either. Just roll your dice, pass through, and move on.
Der T — Google review
Even though there is no train system but its shuttles connect car rental center very well. The transit shuttle between the terminals is also a very smart and effective design. It’s a very cool airport.
Case H — Google review
Dulles International Airport serves the Washington, D.C. area and is a major hub for international and long-haul flights. The main terminal is architecturally striking, and the airport offers a wide range of global destinations. Recent improvements have enhanced dining and lounge options, especially for international travelers. However, the airport can be challenging to navigate due to long distances between gates and reliance on underground trains or mobile lounges. Some areas still feel dated, and public transit access is less convenient compared to other major U.S. airports!!!
Arch S — Google review
Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) is a clean, well-organized airport with plenty of amenities. Security lines usually move efficiently, and the staff are generally helpful and professional. The terminal layout is spacious and bright, which makes navigating between gates fairly easy. One thing to note is that depending on your gate, you may need to take the AeroTrain or one of the mobile lounges, which can add a few extra minutes to your trip — so plan ahead. Food and lounge options are solid, with a nice mix of quick bites and sit-down spots. Overall, it’s a good airport experience, and I appreciate how well it’s maintained compared to other large international airports.

The airport is not bad but when i went through customs it took me forever its not organized at this point , after that i bought cigarettes from the duty free cuz thats the first thing u think about after a 9 hrs flight from Europe, anyway they sell cigarettes and no smoking room at all i literally walked all over the places and no way to smoke , thats really unfortunate cuz ppls like me can only focus with cigarettes. Only smokers can understand .

Had connecting flight here and it appears they are expanding, building new terminal or something. I landed and connected at the old terminal I guess and walked to maybe an updated section of it but the restrooms were awful. They were filthy, and most employees I interacted with in the airport didn’t seem to speak English. At least very little if any. One apparently didn’t know what “restroom” was. He kept pointing at a trash can a few feet away. Food was horribly expensive and not much there to choose from. I didn’t see very many ”restaurants” like most airports have. See my pic of sandwich and a red bull, that was $25! Really I’m glad I was passing through and only there 1 hour before boarding. Maybe I should’ve listened to everyone and went through Pittsburgh. I wouldn’t recommend an extended layover there. But maybe it was just the gates I was near. I can’t say I saw the whole airport.
