Grand Buddha at Ling Shan is a remarkable park in China that boasts an enormous 88-meter tall Buddha statue, a magnificent palace, a temple and cultural shows. It is an exceptional location to experience absolute tranquility and peacefulness. The drive towards the park is breathtakingly beautiful, making it essential to take a cab. This spot offers stunning views of the beauty of China and is considered one of the most calming places in Wuxi.
It’s is a nice sense of view and enlightenment here as the area shows the iconic large Buddha, there are also many other nice views and even special attraction of a performance. Overall a good one day trip spend

Towering 88 meters over lush hills, this majestic bronze Buddha radiates serene power. The climb up feels spiritual, with chanting echoing around the Nine Dragons Fountain.
Motasim S — Google review
A very tall Buddha statue standing at 88 meters in WuXi, you can actually see it from far away! This place is totally huge, I’d recommend using the cart service if you’re together with elderly. You will be amazed how big it is when you’re closer. You can enter the statue to touch the statue feet as well, though the waiting may vary depending on traffic. They also got other areas such as the singing fountain that opens up on specific hours with all the beautiful water fountain and music accompanying a show. Another one is a huge Russian castle that has such amazing art inside the area. I believe some of the rooms inside may be available for a big event as well. Overall, a great and entertaining trip for 4 to 6 hours or more if you decide to eat in the castle.

Various shows, flowers, foods, buddha and more can be seen in this place. Purchase the ticket upfront and onlie to get it cheaper, there are also some shuttle buses which you need again ticket for them to use. Do not go at early morning because it will be a super long queue and you will only lose your time in queue ;) also not go here on weekend, it is very crowded.
Masoud M — Google review
Spring/Autumn would be good season to visit to avoid scorching sun and freezing cold. Excellent place to visit. There will be 3 Buddha. One Baby Buddha, One medium sized and one massive sized. There is no metro connectivity, You should hire a taxi. There is a restaurant facility available inside. The entry ticket is costlier around 230 RMB. There will be stage play inside a palace describing about Buddha's evolution. Approximately it will take 4 to 5 hours minimum to complete the visit.

The Grand Buddha at Ling Shan is s a massive statue located in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, China. It stands at approximately 88 meters tall, including its pedestal, and is made of bronze. The statue has become a significant cultural and religious symbol representing peace, enlightenment, and the rich heritage of Buddhism in China. You can enjoy the Jiu Long Guan Yu fountain show nearby and visit Brahma Palace to explore its halls, shrines, and courtyards, and learn about the significance of Brahma in Buddhist and Hindu traditions.

The Three Kingdoms City (Southeast Gate) is a stunning location that showcases structures constructed in the Han dynasty style. This place is a delight for fans of Romance of the Three Kingdoms and Water Margin/Sui Hu Zhuan as they can witness live-action shows and movie props inspired by these legends. The complex has various forms of entertainment, including horse shows, boat rides, and walking trails around the massive Taihu Lake.
I had the chance to visit Three Kingdoms City during a guided tour, so my time to explore was quite limited. However, thanks to the well-organized itinerary, I managed to catch the live show at 3:30 PM—truly the highlight of the trip. The performance was spectacular, with talented actors bringing to life the legendary battles and stories of heroes like Liu Bei, Cao Cao, and Sun Quan. The costumes, stage effects, and choreography were so impressive that I felt transported back to the Three Kingdoms era. It was a memorable experience, even though I didn’t have much time to wander around. The weather in November during my visit was cold and windy, which added a certain charm to the scenery but made me wish I’d brought an extra layer. The poetic landscape of ancient pavilions, rivers, and gardens felt serene and beautiful, even in a quick glimpse. While I didn’t get to explore every corner, the guided tour helped me see the best parts of this historical site. For anyone planning to visit, I’d recommend taking your time to enjoy both the architecture and the live performance—it’s an experience worth savoring, even in chilly weather. Three Kingdoms City is a destination I’d love to return to for a deeper exploration!
Trish H — Google review
Three Kingdoms City was an adventure, especially with the crazy winds that nearly swept me off my feet! The gusts were so strong they made walking a challenge, but it added to the wild, dramatic atmosphere. PThe view from the top was worth the struggle, though! Panoramic vistas of the city and lake, with the wind whipping through my hair, made it feel like standing on a historic watchtower. Overall, a thrilling, windswept experience.

Best experience for the three kingdoms show (location in 1999 chinese film)
Lollipui R — Google review
It's interesting if you are a fan. It is very far from the city, and there is always a massive traffic jam when crossing the bridge around 5km from the destination (at all times) as it is after Taihu Yuantouzhu park. The shows are nice so make sure you come on time. The place is huge and is linked to 水浒城. Both attractions close at 5.30 pm, so be there by 2 pm if you want to explore both areas.
Wilson T — Google review
The Three Kingdoms City had a really huge area and many attraction spot to walk around. They have their tourist bus service that you can buy from the counter and they will fetch you to wherever you want for the whole day. It was not a historical place but a drama set there was used for filming many Chinese drama and movie.

If you're a fan of Romance of the Three Kingdoms(San Guo) this place will give you joy. They also have a live action show which re-enact the famous battle between three brothers vs Lu Bu. If you are a fan of Water Margin/Sui Hu Zhuan, which is an inspiration for Suikoden jRPG, you can also see their movie prop and show here. Prepare to spend at least one day here.

鼋头渚, also known as Turtle Head Isle, is a picturesque park located on a peninsula in Lake Tai. Established in 1916, it is renowned for its stunning cherry blossom trees and offers breathtaking views of the lake. The park's landscape resembles a turtle raising its head, hence the name Turtle Head Isle. Visitors can enjoy delicious local cuisine and take in the beautiful scenery.
A stunning lakeside escape where wild winds whip across Lake Tai, sending waves crashing against rocky shores. The iconic Turtle Head viewpoint offers sweeping vistas, best at sunrise or sunset. Cherry blossoms (spring) and swooping seagulls (winter) add magic. Perfect for nature photography..

Excellent lighting !! Don't miss the air cracker show at 8:30 pm. Attached are some photos taken by me !! You just need to beware of going there on weekend, a big crowd will make it even difficult to walk !! Coming weekend will be a good time to witness the blossom.

Awesome place!! Visited at the right time (mid march) and the cherry blossoms (sakura) were blooming. This place is huge, buy the bus ticket inside if you don't like to walk. The ticket was 90 RMB, very cheap for what you get inside. Bring your photography equipment or drone. I saw at least 5 drones flying over the park.

(Translated by Google) Jichang Garden is centered on a mountain pond, with pavilions, corridors, bridges and pavilions surrounding the water. The garden has towering trees, is simple and quiet, and the warm autumn light complements each other. You can also take advantage of the scenery of Xishan Longguang Pagoda to enter the garden, and then draw live water from the "Second Spring" into the "Bayin Stream". The spring water is gurgling and murmuring, making exploring the garden more interesting from far and near, high and low, full of sound and color. Jichang Garden is also known as Qin Garden. It started when Qin Jin, a descendant of Zhong Qin Guan in the Ming Dynasty, renovated the monk's house in Huishan Temple. It was passed down to Qin Yaoliang, who took advantage of Wang Xizhi's poetry to name "Jichang Garden". One of the most amazing place to visit if you want to experience the feels of ancient China. The place has been preserved for over 800 years and it is well regularly maintained so the place still looks amazing to this day. It is good to visit during the day but it is when night comes that the place comes alive and instantly transport you to ancient China. There are lots of store to keep you occupied so better save some space in your luggage for souvenirs.

A huge garden with a lake and many tourist heritage attractions. Many food restaurants and souvenirs too. I come in rainy season, so cannot enjoy the garden maximally. But if come at spring or summer, the place should be very greenery and peacefully for our mind. A lot of place we can sit and relax and watch the scenery. Not too much direction boards so sometimes quite difficult to find the way.

I was absolutely blown away by this place. Amazing ancient architecture, plenty tea gardens, flower gardens and places you can sit and enjoy a meal. You can walk around, rent a boat or get a cable car. I love the quaint library for its souvenir ideas. It's full of stunning history. I picked up a pair of handmade shoes among other things. Theres's a little courtyard with stone water tubs where tourists and locals toss in a coin in exchange for happiness. At least this is what I was told! Of course I chucked in a few coins.

You can imagine the feeling of rowing on the water in ancient times. The ancient buildings are full of flavor and the wisdom of the ancients. , there are many architectural patterns inside. At that time, they were buildings only owned by those with great financial resources or high officials. When you walk in, you can see a small pond with flowers, plants and trees on both sides, and there is also a residence where the ancient prime ministers lived. , the buildings of high officials will appear more gorgeous and imposing. There are various steles inside to praise great figures. There is also a so-called second spring in the world, and there is also a large spring in the park. The lake is filled with willow trees and maple leaves. Walking on this avenue will make you feel more relaxed. Wuxi Railway Station is a bustling transportation hub, especially during Chinese New Year. While it offers affordable dining options, there are no banks on site, so it's advisable to have digital payment methods like Alipay or WeChat Pay. The station has undergone significant development since 2004, with new buildings and improved infrastructure transforming the cityscape. The surrounding area boasts modern facilities and convenient access to high-speed rail services. Overall, Wuxi Railway Station provides a satisfactory travel experience for visitors.
This place is so big, crowded when Chinese new year. Easy to get cheap food at here, but there's no bank. If you visit this place make sure your money is already on alipay or wechat pay, some groceries don't have changes.

Nanchan Temple, situated in Nanchang district, is a stunning historic site dating back over 1500 years to its construction in 549 A.D. Originally known as Huguo Temple, it has withstood the test of time and witnessed the rule of various dynasties. The temple boasts a 7-tiered pagoda and a golden Buddha statue that illuminates vividly at night.
There are several Buddhist temples in Wuxi. Nanchan Temple is one of them. It's from 8:30 to 5:30. Without this time you can't enter inside. It's become more Beautiful at night. Lovely place.
Sayed M — Google review
A bizarre experience. First, you were greeted with an army of “Dama”(大媽 / aunties)on a stage competing for a sponsored dance competition near the temple entrance. The music was, uh, deafening. Then you would bump into monks paying attention to their mobile phones and locals smoking inside the temple area. There was also a shopping corridor located next to the Temple, littered with run-down shops and stalls selling antiques, as well as vintage comic books and Mao badges from the 60s and 70s of the last centuries. If you were into architecture of centuries-old buildings with an authentic Zen vibe, I am not sure this is the place you are looking for. Free admission though.

Day 3

Airport
Sunan Shuofang International Airport is a well-established airport that serves both domestic and international flights. It offers convenient amenities such as a business center. Traveling from the airport to nearby accommodations like Pan Pacific Suzhou typically takes around 50 minutes by car, depending on traffic conditions. Visitors have the option of using taxi services or public transportation, with bus schedules displayed at the station. However, it's important to note that only cash coins are accepted for bus fares.
Clean and friendly airport. Airport service personnel is very helpful and polite. Plenty of local cafe inside after check in gate. There is a special room for kids and babies.

Its crazy that this airport doesnt have a money changer which is one of the most important thing. The airport is small crowded as it gets but it is clean. The thing is that the staff of the airport doest know how to speak English. I cant say it is a bad experience there but definetely, it is not a good one. There are only very few foreign people there and I can say it is hard for a foreigner there especially if you dont know how to speak Chinese. The crew are accomodating but only to locals. The food there and other things to buy have a reasonable price

The people at Wuxi Airport are very considerate. I once had a problem with my visa and they were very helpful. I will never forget their responsiveness and kindness. I am disabled and hard of hearing, but they provided me with first-class service. I especially want to thank them for their cooperation Zhuxiaojuan, Fanlingyan, Zhanghaoqing and two more, whose names I forgot, but I want to express my deepest gratitude to them.

Comfortable airport, and it's the closest one to go domestically from Suzhou. Clean and has enough general facilities such as restaurants and chargers, but there is little to no entertainment to alleviate the (very common) delays. Area is also small and seats in Gates can sometimes be hard to get.

Maggie C — Google review
The hardware of this airport is acceptable,. Although the cleanliness can be improve as I saw cockroaches in the departure hall. The software part is otherwise. I took the Scoot flight to and from Wux to Sin in Jun 2018, with a tour group. When arriving, the custom has only two counters for foreigners, they are overwhelming at an international airport. Our plane arrived at 2000hrs, we cleared the immigration and we managed to leave the airport around 0000hrs. Maybe they can just prepare more counters for foreigners at terminal one. When departure, the Check in counter only start accepting luggage the hour prior boarding , resulting long queue and chaotic situation. At first I thought it was the airline's fault as most of the airport has the airlines in charge at the counter, but the person in charge are wearing the government suit instead. Everything was mess up, the incharge at the counter were shouting among themselves when assigning seats. When the check in completed, our tour group was about to late for boarding, as such we were rushing. The airport provides no priority queue for the elderly. There were elders with us, and they had a hard time catching up the plane. In the end, we barely made it, but I also got a below average impression for the airport. When it comes to safety, I feel safe to be in the airport as the military security did their work well. I know the airport is new when come to handling international flights, there are more work to fill up the rooms. I hope that I will be able to leave a positive comment when I visit the airport again.
Zhi C — Google review
A bad airport. The carpark is very small and on some days, you cant even get a space. Very few counters to go through the customs and there is a snaky queue. This airport is not busy yet they delay the checking-in time to very late. Staff hardly smile with slow service. No transfer lounges whatsoever. Food is hard to come by. There is so little seats that you need to fight for one. What an awful experience

National park
Taihu Yuantouzhu Scenic Area, also known as Turtle Head Island, is a popular destination in Wuxi. Founded in 1918, it was once the private garden of a prominent national capitalist and is often referred to as 'the first attraction in Wuxi.' The area features various garden buildings such as Changchun Bridge, Cheng Lan Tang, Fei Ge, Jinsong Building, Light Temple, and Tao Zhu.
(Translated by Google) Incredible park totally immersed in greenery, truly enormous in size, so much so that there are multiple possibilities for travel within it with tourist minibuses. From glimpses of historic structures to views of the lake, one day to visit it can be just enough. Also ideal for a picnic with family or friends, to be had in the designated reserved areas. Inside there are however some rooms used for catering. It is a park with paid access, equipped with large paid parking lots.

Great park for cherry blossoms. Entry fee Y90 required with discount for Snr Citizens & students. Includes big bus ride from entrance to cherry blossom valley & free boat ride on the lake. Both of which were never shared when we bought the tkts. There's timing for buses n boats, so be aware of the times for the last free rides. There's also a cheap bus svs to/from Wuzi train stn provided by the Park which ends at 630 pm for our visit in March. After that there are paid taxis & touts to get you back. We got a taxi to Nanchang road using an App. Gets extremely busy in Spring. Make sure you apply sunblock as everything is very much outdoors.

Came a bit early (18 Mar). It would be very beautiful when full bloom. Ditch the boat ride. It's a waste of time. Make sure to purchase tickets for the buggy ride ¥60/pax or else you will have to climb up a very steep hill (鹿顶山)

Went there in early march during one of the weekday.. there's just a handful of people and the spring flowers haven't bloom yet.. It was also raining and it is cold. To be honest, had dampen the mood abit but this place is still nice and worth the visit.

One of the very few places with real plants, some nature, less crowded and better air!

Really love the atmosphere, the beautiful scenery of Cherry Blossom Park

It’s a Saturday so it was crazy with sooo many ppl. The boats were filled to past capacity so our family decided to just enjoy the scenery. At the entry u can buy tickets to enter then buy open air bus tickets to the scenic viewing area. Same bus ticket lets u ride back out. It’s best to go on a weekday than jostle for best photo spots. Go early bc if u don’t, there’s cars n buses stuck in one lane coming in to pick up ppl. Your ride may be far far away stuck in that one lane. So many ppl!
