I did not speak French and the server accommodated me very politely and was very kind. I ordered the menu of the day which was fish soup, hake with risotto, and crème brûlée and everything was beautiful, large amounts, and so delicious. Highly recommended!!
Amazing seafood restaurant in front of the beach of Arcachon. We made a reservation few weeks ago thx to that we got a great table in front row. We had a great oysters from Arcachon, scallops and sushi. Everything was fresh and delicious. Service was great by very friendly staff.
Everything was great about this place except that it took a really long time to get the waiter to bring our check when we had finished our meal. Wwe probably would have ordered a coffee as well, if it had bot taken so long for them to come afterwards. But, it was a very busy day, so I can't really fault the server. Overall, great atmosphere and great environment and the food was also fantastic!
The waiting staff were amazing! Patient, nice, friendly, professional - they knew what they were doing and you can expect an enjoyable moment here. The crustaceans were fresh. We had sushi, beef tartare and the duck filet, all were good.
Michelin recommended right next to the beach. I sat down and expected an expensive and simple salad, I soon realized this place is a pearl. The location is superb, the service is excellent and the food is exquisite. We ate here 3 days a row.
The tempo is high and the food is fast but extremely well done. This place deserves the recommendations from Michelin.
I highly recommend the baked pie and the chef salad for starter.. Oh man that was an experience.
The kids menu is super tasty, those kids sausages have lots of flavor and the green beans taste superb.

Impressive selection of cold seafood all served in a generous tray of ice Cooked food was slightly hit and miss, the sole was beautiful but the sauce/flavouring of scallops were not my favourite. It is also a bit pricy hence 4 not 5 stars. Wouldn’t hesitate to go back when in Arcachon.

Plage Thiers, located in Arcachon, is a beautiful and popular beach known for its clean and soft sand. It stretches quite long, making it perfect for activities like jogging and cycling. Families with kids will appreciate the presence of merry-go-rounds and plenty of ice cream shops along the coast. Additionally, there are numerous seafood restaurants to explore.

Stunning soft sandy beach. Limited access for dogs sadly. The beach is raked early everyday by a massive tractor that skims the surface sifting our rubbish, seaweed and pebbles!
At dawn the tractors comb Arcachon’s central beach, screening litter from the sand into neat ribs before bathers arrive. It’s a balance of amenity and ecology: too deep and the wrack line that shelters insects and birds is stripped away, so management alternates machine passes with lighter hand-picks and seasonal pauses. When storms erode the foreshore, SIBA undertakes re-nourishment — bringing in authorised sand to reset the beach profile, timed outside peak season. Along the promenade, Julien Marinetti’s painted bronzes — Bâ le Panda and Doggy John — add colour and playfulness, bright sentinels against the horizon. A beach where engineering, ecology, and art converge.
Lovely beach and not to crowded. Lots of great restaurants around too. Oysters you should get at les halles though. 10€ for the dozen.
Beautiful lengthy beach with proper sand, nice promenade with flowers and a nearby public toilet.
Very beautiful and clean beach. Very popular with internal tourism as well. The sand is also very beautiful, soft and fine, during summer it can get quite crowded. It's a fairly long beach as well so you can jog and cycle along it. There is a small pier that you can take a jetty to cap ferret it;s about 45mins ferry ride to get to the other side of the bay. Many seafood restaurants lined the coast of the beach. HIghly recommended.
A great beach, which is regularly cleaned, equipped with shower posts and public toilets, and a wheelchair friendly path on the beach to the sea. Great place for kids. There are 2 merry go rounds, and plenty of ice cream and waffle&pancake shops along the beach, and of course restaurants too!
Great sandy beach for sunbathing, and the water is great for paddling but there's very little visibility (or interest) for snorkeling in the swimming zone

The market is particularly known for its very fresh oysters at great prices.
We had a quick meal before heading back to the⛵. It was nice outdoor area in the square and we tried a few tapas with drinks. The area was very busy when we visited.

Good local market with a variety of fruit, vegetables, bakery, cheese, meat and seafood of course. You can take something with you, o have a fast snack on the tables near the entrance. It works only till noon. The only pity thing is that all the coffee station provide very poor quality drinks.
The market is beautiful, not as many merchants as in La Teste but the new market of Arcachon is more of a beauty and much better for tourists.
Nice combination of clothes stalls and food outlets. Lovely to come for some breakfast and coffee or to buy some local produce.

Parc Mauresque is a historic public park located in Arcachon, France. Its story begins in the late 19th century, during the height of Arcachon’s development as a fashionable seaside resort.
The park was part of the larger project of creating the “Ville d’Hiver” (Winter Town), a district designed to attract wealthy visitors seeking health benefits from the mild winter climate.

Small park with a rose garden, palm trees ans some huge old trees.
A haven of calm and freshness, it has been home to an arboretum since 1992, with 4 hectares of small plant treasures, rare or exotic plants and trees, a pretty rose garden with nearly 600 rose bushes. Sit down on one of the famous red Arcachon benches, then contemplate, smell, and appreciate the sweetness of the moment. It once served as a setting for the Mauresque casino, ravaged by a fire in 1977. This casino was the work of the architect Paul Régnauld and Jules Salesses. The architecture of this building was characterized by the great diversity of materials used: iron columns and beams, bricks and terracotta tiles, pine wood floors. At the elevator exit is a model representing the Alhambra.
Nice park to cool down and relax. Playgrounds for kids and a beautiful walking path around the park. The small tourist train also makes a pass through the park from time to time. Good views of the city and a hit of history with the model of the casino that used to be there 50 years ago
Really nice little park with a playground, rose garden and open library! It's located on a hill so gives a nice panoramic view of the town.
Ok...so our experience was affected by our visit being by public transit from downtown Bordeaux....which is kind of remarkable if you think of how far it is from downtown Bordeaux....and we had out luggage with us.
The trails are accessible.

All routes can be walked comfortably in 1.5 to 2.0 hours. Build in you 1/2 hour transit each way, and it a good frre 1/2 day activity.
The ruins are VERY photographable.
The park is a cool haven of peace and tranquillity; it has hosted an arboretum since 1992, with over 4 hectares of green treasures: rare or exotic plants and trees, and for a few weeks has been home to a beautiful rose garden with some 600 rose bushes. (Arcachon official website) A huge bull park, perfect to be a spectator of an important recreational sport of France. Every turn is a surprise with extremely well taken care of plants and trees. Exquisite and beautifully design combination and arrangement of plants.
A great park with playground, public toilet, elevator, beautiful flowers and park benches... within walking distance to the beach (Plage Thiers), which makes it a perfect place to have an afternoon stroll, or just to bask in the sunshine!

Observatoire Sainte-Cécile is a must-visit attraction in Arcachon, offering a superb view of the town and the stunning landscapes that include marinas, fishing ports, and beaches. The observatory overlooks Arcachon and provides an opportunity to see the city from above the treetops through spiral staircases. It's important to note that only 8 people are allowed on the platform at a time, so there might be a short wait.
L’observatoire is free to visit, max of 8 people allowed on the tower at once. People in line were counting :) the stairs are a bit wobbly but even though I’m afraid of heights this was easy and not scary. Beautiful view over the area

A lovely stop on a walking tour of Arcachon. Fun to climb and a great view from the top, would recommend taking in this site.
Great views of the town, not too many steps to climb, a really fun way to take in the views of the city.
It’s a metallic observation tower with a spiral staircase inside, allowing visitors to climb up and enjoy panoramic views over the Arcachon Basin, and surrounding landscapes.

Amazing 360° panoramic views over Arcachon Town, the pine forests and the sea. Its only about a 20 mins small uphill walk from the town centre. It's free and is an outdoor metal structure with approx 50 metal spiral steps to reach the open circular platform.
This is a great way of seeing over the town. The stairway to the platform is small and winding. The stairs are okay but they do move as they are suspended.
It is worth the trip to the top for the glorious views.
Near the parc mauresque there's this little iron tower with a spiral staircase that goes up to more than 20 meters and the view is astonishing.
Really amazing views on the top. You have a pretty good view of Arcachon. To go on top, there are a lot of narrow stairs, so I guess is not recommended for people with low mobility.

Nice place to stop for a drink or a bite to eat in the covered market. Homemade food, good priced and friendly service. Nice that they show rugby games on the screen above the bar.

Great place for lunch! Probably one of my most enjoyable meals during the Bordeaux/Arcachon trip - the ambiance feels relaxed and authentic, the market is nice, the staff at the restaurant were really great, the dishes felt healthy. More meatless options had been nice, or options to have oysters in the restaurant seeing as there's oysters in the market.
Friendly staff, but for the price, a little too factory-like and careless an experience. Very long waits, entrecote cooking preference ignored, cold guaffre for dessert instead of the requested crepes. If it were a casual, cheap, market food court, all would be forgivable.

nice seaside restaurant. Seafood is soso. Some of the shrimp and mussel on the seafood plate are not fresh enough. The creamy mussel is ok but not not enough. The squid are a bit chewy (overcooked? ) maybe that is in Spanish style.
The white wine is crispy, fresh with good nose.
The location is nice with seaside view before sunset. Ok to go as a general tourist friendly place as their servers are nice and good in English. 👍🏻
We had a fantastic experience at Diego, a lovely beachside spot in Arcachon that’s perfect for relaxing with a drink and a bite to eat while taking in the stunning view. The atmosphere is laid-back and inviting.
What really stood out was the service. Our waiter – a young man whose name we unfortunately didn’t catch – was incredibly polite, friendly, and attentive without being intrusive. He made us feel genuinely welcome and added to the overall great vibe of the place.
The food was fresh and tasty, the drinks were well-prepared, and the view of the water just tied it all together. Highly recommend if you're in the area and looking for a chilled-out place to unwind by the sea!
We had a fabulous lunch here over the weekend. We had fish pate and muscles - both were 5/5. My only thing marking this down to 4/5 was we ordered wine quite awhile before ordering food, but it didn’t arrive until we were almost done our meals which was a disappointment. Scenery is beautiful and food is delicious so I recommend highly!
Good seafood platters and great charcuterie. They serve a deconstructed Bloody Mary which is good. the wine list is diverse with a few good choices. Service was friendly. If online you see that they don’t have availability call them. It’s a very big place and it seems like the online reservation system isn’t always up to date. A bit pricey, but it comes with the location and the views it affords.
I was a bit skeptical about trying a restaurant right in the centre and on the beach — usually that means overpriced food and poor service. But this place completely changed my mind. I ended up coming back three times during my stay! The staff are genuinely friendly and welcoming, the food is delicious, service is quick, and the atmosphere is great. Please keep it this way and don’t turn into another tourist trap — you’re doing an amazing job!
We arrived around 11.10 we were waiting to be seated and everyone from the staff was avoiding us. We followed the example of some other customers and took an empty table.we waited patiently for over 20 min for the waitress to ignore us successfully all 4 times she passed by us. The restaurant had almost 6 tables all in all atthat time. We ordered some drinks and we asked for the catalogue so we can order to eat later.
After 5min(that was fast) she came by with the drinks the catalogue and told us here is the catalogue but not to bother ordering because the table is reserved(there was nothing on the table) without giving us and other alternative. A restaurant to avoid....
We were hoping to find a nice place for food while watching the 14th of July fireworks. The restaurant is right on the beach with an expensive card.The food was fantastic and reasonably priced but the best was probably the wonderful Lou who was looking after us. She could not have been more nice and knowledgeable. She really made our evening. Thank you Lou.

The owner added an extra table for us outside, as we were distanced from the other diners it felt like private dining!
My children ate the (adults) burger. It was honestly one of the best burgers I have ever tried. Slightly too much for a child tbh, but Dad did not mind! Be warned the burger contains blue cheese! Our daughter liked it, but our son scraped it off. We should have read the menu more closely.
I had the steak which was excellent, I went for a medium, but I think I should have gone for medium rare - its always hard to know in france as they like food more bloody than us! But it was nicely seasoned and good quality beef.
The chips were excellent.
The owner was very friendly, and spoke decent enough english.
We got bitten, wear repellent.
Nice wine and cocktaills, and I had a good cognac served properly warmed.

Fish and Chips and Hashe with frites very well prepared. Service very friendly and the café gourmand was one of the best I had.
We were lucky to get a table when this the restaurant opened at 7pm as most tables were reserved by local diners. Had delicious squid with chorizo, son had an amazing burger and wife’s salad was lovely. Friendly owner helped us with menu, suggested nice wine also. One of best meals on holiday. Highly recommend, probably best to book.

I visited Le Bistro’chon with my family, on holidays. The food was the best we had all holiday with fresh high quality produce, cooked to perfection and exquisitely presented. Everything from Teriyaki Salmon to The Steak was brilliant, but most importantly the staff and our waiter was the real highlight. Extremely friendly and accommodating and genuine. All in all a must visit for anyone staying in Arcachon.

Excellent food, in a safe post-COVID environment. The service was great, despite their having to push tables up and down the street to accommodate social distancing . These precautions made our group of adults and kids feel at ease, and the food was excellent. I had the speciality of calamari and sausage, my partner had fish and chips, a friend veal liver, while the kids had ground beef and fries. The fries were excellent. An outstanding place worth visiting.

Club Plage Pereire is a charming wooden restaurant located on the beautiful three-kilometer-long Plage Pereire, just north of Le Molleau. The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating options, including tables in the sand right by the waves. It's recommended to make reservations to secure a table at this popular spot.
Our first visit to Arcachon and this very soon became our favourite spot. We enjoyed a fabulous lunch and dinners watching spectacular sunsets. Great food and wine; friendly and helpful staff; warm and welcoming atmosphere and good value. We will definitely return!

A must try when you are in the area
Beautiful location on the beach. Busy and lively atmosphere even on a Monday evening. Staff were very nice and accommodating and food was good. We shared the gravlax to start which was delicious and clearly very good quality salmon. My Caesar salad was good but could have been better - the chicken was cold but it would have been better hot and the croutons were quite small. A wide variety of drinks, we had hot dessert alcoholic coffees which were tasty and strong !

Barefoot dining on Pereire’s broad sweep of sand — tables right on the beach, shaded by parasols, with views across Arcachon Bay. The setting and relaxed plage privée vibe are outstanding, though the food was simpler than the view promised.
Food: Ordered Tartare de boeuf and Oceanic Tartare... texture and mouthfeel is beyond buttery and the delicate flavor of the beef is exquisite, with a balance of savory and spicy notes all smoothed perfectly with the velvet creaminess. Not the item to be missed in this establishment. Fish and chip is nothing special. Calamari is average.
Ambience: no doubt, the place to relax and enjoy the sunset. Windy and peaceful...

Plage des Arbousiers, also known as Arbousiers Beach, is situated to the south of Pereire Beach. It's a great spot for families with plenty of activities for both kids and adults. The beach offers a relaxing atmosphere where you can watch boats and enjoy the low tide while children have fun in the water. However, keep in mind that parking fees are quite high, so it's advisable to plan for a short stay of around two hours.

Nice to watch the boats while relaxing, when we arrive it is low tide and kids are enjoying the water. Good first time experienced but I must say, parking fee is expensive. We stay only two hours. There is a restaurant near but you have to book 15 days ahead.

If you want to book ... don t be surprise if they don t pick up the phone, 30 seats inside only .. you can try your luck , you ll find other restaurants few km away in Mouleau or towards Pereire.
What the hell is wrong with this people? Is the rudeness their slogan?
There are also nice ways to say no, not necessarily being rude. Some people are just not familiar with your policies that’s why they ask questions.
Never ever again I would step into this establishment.

Le Bikini in Arcachon is the perfect spot for a relaxed meal right on the beach! The location is unbeatable, offering breathtaking sea views and a laid-back coastal vibe. The food is fresh and tasty, with a good selection of dishes that pair wonderfully with the oceanfront setting. The service was not very friendly and welcoming( maybe we were not lucky)), and a bit slow — but it adds to the unhurried atmosphere of the place. Good place for enjoying food, stunning views, and a true beachside experience.
Staff was okay, but the food for the price is incredibly overpriced and overrated. The tartar was basically just iceberg with thousand Island dressing and a slab of raw meat with no consideration of quality. VERY BAD
Excellent food, exceptional atmosphere.
This is our favorite spot when visiting Bassin d’Arcachon. We love to walk through gorgeous typical villas of Arcachon and arrive to Bassin.
Then we arrive at Le Bikini and we enjoy the fresh seafood and some white wine.
Last time the service was a bit hazardous - lots of staff but the quality of service disappeared. We believe it can be improved. That is why we shall come back 😊

It was nice that after three visits in a week we were treated like family! The mussels were excellent, and in abundance. The wait-staff made the dining experience enjoyable.

Good restaurant by the sea! The location is top for young kids if you need to let them run around a bit while you eat.
We had lunch here and had a problem with our order and we're promptly ignored. Over priced for what you get and the treatment we received was under par for a mistake the restaurant made not us. We received no solution and paid for a plate they was clearly not cooked right. Won't be returning and would avoid if I were you!
Aggressive woman as administrator, which tries to make impression, that everything is occupied, despite of pretty enough free places. So you are obliged to move half a meter in front of the entrance and wait until she will be so kind to invite you. We just took place at the next door restaurant, which is very good, by the way. So enjoyed the food there and were able to observe the situation at this place. Wouldn’t recommend, just if you have no other alternative and are very hungry 🤷

For day 3, we recommend exploring the north side side of town. Start the day off with Casino Partouche d'Arcachon, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Jetée Thiers. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

The Casino D'Arcachon, located on the seafront, is housed in a 19th-century castle and offers a variety of gambling options such as poker, table games, and slot machines. Good decent casino in this small town. The lighting and decor from outside made it look bigger than what it was inside. We played a bit of blackjack (€2 minimum) and left after a few hours. Early am walk to our car felt safe.

Great service but wasn’t the sunset we were hoping for.
The casino staff at 1st seen baffled as how to get my 80-year-old mother in a wheelchair from the casino to the the dining room without a passport, as we were not planning on gambling. Fortunately a bright female manager intercepted and allowed us to pass to the elevator. Weird but comical.
According to the website the restaurant and bar are open every evening. Went there on a Tuesday evening in the hope of eating (to celebrate our wedding anniversary) only to be told by the unhelpful concierge that the restaurant and bar were closed and he didn't know whether they would be open the following evening, and he didn't seem to care. 1 star rating is too high !
Great looking from the outside..dreadful on the inside. Went to play some Blackjack with a couple of friends. Very unfriendly welcome from the dealer and lady sat behind. Sat down as they had just reshuffled and about to start new Shoe. We played 1 game and then they shut the table?.!!. Next night table full and they wouldn’t open next empty table event though people waiting to play. Gave up and left. Such a shame a this place has so much potential if it was run well. We will not be returning!
I wouldn't come here again. Old machines that didn't have a good payout. Rarely hit a line pay. They also have a dress code, can't wear a hat which is odd.
The Casino “de la plage” (which is not the same as the Casino Mourlesque which burnt in the 70’s and was located at the parck Mourlesque) is located in a Castle in front of the beach. Nice staff. It’s restaurant pretty good. We spend a nice time there event if it’s not Las Vegas of course 😉

Played on the machines so I wouldn't know about the table games, but they have a variety of machines (not as many as you could find elsewhere but still pretty good)
Also the building and entrance are very beautiful which adds to the experience.

Our first time trying oysters – and they were truly delicious!
Since we had never eaten oysters before, we were kindly given recommendations on what to order and how to eat them. The waitress was very friendly and, to our delight, spoke very good English and even a bit of German.
We really enjoyed the food and can highly recommend the restaurant Le Pitt. Nice atmosphere, great service, delicious food, and a lovely view of the casino. The price-performance ratio is also spot on.

This is a brilliant restaurant surfer the freshest of seafood just up from the beach. There is a lot of outdoor seating and some indoor tables as well. There were some items on the menu, not available, but this is understandable given they only use fresh produce from local fisherman. We shared a roasted Camembert, which was amazing and could’ve been a meal in itself between two people. We couldn’t finish it and still have room for the seafood platter which came next. It was fantastic and fresh. Whelks are not a shellfish commonly eaten in Australia and I don’t know why as they are delicious. The prawns were small, but rich and flavorful, the oysters were delicious but the artist inclusion was a pork pate in a tin. It was great but sat oddly with the fresh seafood. Of note were the vinaigrettein a jar and the Tata sauce. We had a beautiful rosé which set off the seafood perfectly. Wonderful service from the single waitress who was an absolute champion. Highly recommend this restaurant.

It’s one of the few places that stay open during the day, so if you are looking for seafood lunch in the area- this is it. Absolutely delicious oysters, shrimps, duck rillette and affordable wine. The service is friendly and accommodating.

Arcachon 1900, located at 5 Rue Du Marechal De Lattre De Tassigny in Arcachon, boasts a fantastic position right on the promenade with stunning beach views. The staff are friendly and the menu offers an excellent selection with a good variety of options to choose from. Diners can enjoy dishes such as perfectly cooked sea bass that arrives quickly and hot. This popular restaurant is always busy due to its delicious food.
The fish soup homemade was already delicious which filled me good, Les huîtres d’Arcachon were the most fresh and friendly I have had, finally I (such a foodie) still took the poisson to say bye to Archachon.

Lovely place to have a meal with a splendid view of the beach. Their oysters were some of the freshest and largest I’ve ever had; highly recommended. Good seafood, because I didn't want to have the snails I created my own "plate" with lobster, mussels and shrimps. The bouquet of shrimps is definitely a large portion, really great :)
A great thing here is that fire the children your can also order vegetables as a side dish, not always only fries. Our daughter liked the sausages and our son the salmon. Great that even the small ones can have a "normal" dish and not only chicken nuggets or pasta!

Great location right on the promenade overlooking the beach. Good friendly staff and excellent menu selection with good variety to choose from. I had sea bass which was nicely cooked and arrived quickly and hot. Its a busy restaurant because the food is good. After a morning walking on the famous dunes I enjoyed lunch sitting outside in the sunshine and fresh air. Defo recommended.

Had salmon enfant meal and Tata Salmon. Fantastic. These awesome dishes could earn their third star BUT, the canard that I ordered is a total failure. I ordered a medium Canard but it taste and feels like a well done canard. Plating is no doubt perfect( as shown) but the texture is horrible.

Jetée Thiers is a lively pier located at the western end, offering boat rides to Cap Ferret. On the eastern side, Jetée d'Eyrac features an old-fashioned carousel and a vintage Big Wheel near the town's turreted casino. The sheltered basin of Arcachon provides calm waters ideal for families, contrasting with most Atlantic beaches.
This is a great service for getting about. I took this boat across to Cap Ferret, about 30 minutes each way. The tickets are very reasonable, €15 return per person, bought from the vendor at the top of the pier.

Excellent ferry service to Cap Ferret but make sure you get there a good 15mins before sailing on busy days.

Long before Arcachon’s promenade bustled with cafés and sunseekers, fishermen here launched flat-bottomed pinasses into the sheltered waters of the Bassin.
These sturdy boats ferried nets, oysters, and news between La Teste-de-Buch, Cap Ferret, and Andernos. The arrival of the Bordeaux–Arcachon railway in 1857 transformed the town into a thriving seaside health resort. By the 1880s, steam launches and early ferries began running from Jetée Thiers, marking the shift from subsistence crossings to leisure and tourism routes that opened the bay to visitors.
Today’s modern launches still echo those early journeys, carrying day-trippers across the same waters that once linked fishing villages in quiet interdependence.

Boats to Cape Ferret. The beach/water on the Atlantic side of Cape Ferret is fantastic and not to be missed.
A problem is street car parking in Arcachon is typically max 4 hours, meaning I had to rush the trip and only had around 90 minutes on the beach.
The ferry is nice if expensive (28EUR for me & 10 year old).

We decided to have dinner here because of the price. The menu cost 18€, an appetizer, a main course and a dessert which is cheap in my opinion. We don't have any idea if they serve good food so we give it a try. I ordered a saute squid 🦑 with parsley and garlic while my husband had a grilled meat of duck. He asked it to be very well done and when it arrived it looks burned and some of my squid as well. Also the pasta in my husband's plate was overcooked and cold. In total we pay 60€ and we feel disappointed after eating. I'm not a chef but I can cook decently so when i saw the pasta, just by looking at it, its really a dead pasta 😂 no salt or any flavor although it was just a supplement for the dish.

Petit restau tout prêt de la mer, nous y avons manger quasiment tout notre petit séjour à Arcachon, et rien à redire ! Restau agréable, bonne musique d'ambiance, personnel au petit soins (mention speciale à Claire :p)
Ayant un petit on a toujours plein de demandes (petit pot toussa) et tout était parfait !
Niveau repas tout est excellent, que ce soit salade, jp burger, ou menu du midi, n'hésitez pas !
En tout cas quand il y aura un prochain séjour sur Arcachon, nous y retournerons avec grand plaisir et sans hésiter :)

Grand Café Victoria is a great place to go for Italian food in Arcachon. The service is good and the prices are average. They also have a variety of seafood dishes on the menu, making it a great place to eat if you're looking for something different.
Nice seafront restaurant with a satisfying range of choices, mixing Italian dishes and local cuisine. The service was well executed by the waitress, very kind and polite.
The food was overall quite good, felt fresh but we still had 2 points a little disappointing:
- I found a hair in my pizza.
- My companion had a few clams that were empty in her pasta, and not just that the meat fell out in the dish, it was simply the shells.
While we didn't ask for anything from the waitress about those two points (mentioned at the end of the meal), it would have been appreciated if the restaurant offered a small gesture of compensation.
I would still give it a second try if we were to come back.

Overpriced and Underwhelming
A typical touristy beachfront restaurant with pre-prepared food that doesn’t justify the price. My pasta was tiny and served cold, and the fish soup had no actual pieces of fish in it — just a bland broth. The Carpaccio starter was tasty, and the waiter was friendly, which earned the two stars. Overall, not recommended.
We stopped for a quick beverage and some ice cream and had lovely service with a nice view. The chocolate ice cream with the clementine sorbet was very good.
The staff is very friendly, very welcoming and very professional.
The food is very good, I especially liked the fish soup, one of the best I have ever had.
The restaurant is kid friendly which made the experience even better, I definitely recommend it ;-)
Absolutely superb! My mother and I had the pleasure of having lunch on the terrasse of this lovely restaurant on 18 June and everything was spot on, from the food quality to the service. Mum had oysters, which were excellent, and I had the sole, which was fresh and perfectly cooked. We then had a Café Gourmand each, which was a perfect end to the meal. We will definitely be back.
This is an excellent seafood restaurant on the boardwalk of the beach in Arcachon. The very helpful staff serve a broad menu with something for everyone. We had their sole grillé, which was perfectly cooked with delicious vegetables. It's a great place to eat. Recommended.

Overpriced for pretty average food. Chose to eat here as we wanted seafood. I had the octopus with risotto which unfortunately just wasn’t particularly all that tasty. A lack of seasoning and flavours. My son had lobster. No chips for side options so ordered potatoes which we were pretty sure had been microwaved as they were quite rubbery 😬 we’ve been in France all summer, this was our first time visiting Arcachon and I wanted to treat us to a lovely lunch but I have to say that unfortunately it’s the worst meal out we’ve had all summer and the most expensive!
Staff friendly enough. Toilets could do with a good clean.

I have visited twice recently (once lunch and once dinner). They are really welcoming us. The oyster and shrimps are really really fresh. The meals are delicious and refreshing too. Highly recommended!

Good services, food is average. A bit too much sweet taste in the entré and plat. 27€ for a entré plat dessert menu of the day during lunch service in the weekday.
We ate oysters, foie grai, lobster carpaccio and entrecôte. Oysters and foie grai were good, the sweet accessories for foie grai could have been more fun and a little sweeter. The lobster carpaccio was looked nice but didn't have the flavor, the sauce was bitter. Then we come to the entrecote. It did not have the juicy quality that one would expect. The sauce and potatoes were boring and very mediocre didn’t taste that much. Felt like they were trying more than they could. The services was good and friendly and the interior ok.
This is an absolutely amazing place for dinner in Arcachon, a great find just within walking distance of the beach and the train station.
Great dinner options, all fantastic.

Le Thiers is a well-established brasserie located on the beachfront of Arcachon Bay. They offer a menu that includes burgers, seafood platters and sundaes. Although the prices are considered high compared to other similar restaurants, it's worth it for the location. The staff is friendly and accommodating even though they don't have baby changing facilities available. The service can be slow at times, but overall Le Thiers offers good food in a beautiful setting.
We are here in June 2025 and although the promenade is full of restaurants, we come back here three times. The staff are very attentive, friendly and quick. Tables are set and orders taken immediately. The menu includes burgers, meat dishes, with an emphasis on fish and seafood. The fries are crispy and perfectly salted.
We could only see positive things here and give it our unreserved recommendation.

I recently visited Le thiers and left with mixed feelings about the experience. On the positive side, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff were incredibly friendly. From the moment we walked in, the waitress greeted us with a genuine smile and made us feel right at home. She was attentive, polite, and did her best to ensure we were comfortable and well taken care of.
However, despite the wonderful service, the coffee itself was a huge letdown. We ordered coffee crème, expecting a rich, creamy coffee experience. What we received instead was quite the opposite—a weak, burned-tasting Nescafé with hot water. It was far from what we were hoping for, and honestly, it was one of the worst coffees I've ever had. It was disappointing to have such a lovely setting and great service undermined by a poor-quality drink.
While I appreciate the welcoming environment and the excellent service, I can’t recommend it for its coffee. If they could improve the quality of their drinks to match their service, this place would be a real gem. But until then, I’d suggest going elsewhere if you’re looking for a good cup of coffee.

Good location, swift service from the waiters, and the food came out quickly. But apart from that it felt like a tourist trap, with really mediocre food. The calamari was really tough and rubbery and nearly inedible, even the mayonnaise was strange, very thick and not nice at all. The mussles in the Roquefort sauce was nice, however the fries weren't amazing.
Lovely meal in this sunny seaside restaurant. Hubby had the moules and frites and I had the burger both delicious. Matthias was our waiter and he was polite and friendly and spoke some English with a smile!
