Bodies of Water
The Natural Reserve of River Chidro is a scenic spot where an underground river flows into the sea, offering a popular swimming area with clear and cool water. Although the river's temperature can be unexpectedly cold at around 15-18 degrees, it provides a refreshing respite from hot weather. However, the pandemic has made social distancing difficult in this area. The beach itself is beautiful but marred slightly by an unsightly bridge and a small river that emits some unpleasant odors.
Very nice beach with cold water if you stay at the river or warm water if you go further from it. Very clean beach as well.
Alex D — Google review
The water is so refreshing and clear. Absolutely beautiful.
Anna B — Google review
Beautiful place with river.
Google review
The cold temperature in the river surprised me. I will guess it was about 15-18 degrees, while the sea is above 25 degrees. The water is very clean. The ugly "bridge" makes the area less charming.
Jakob B — Google review
Amazing, crystal clear water. Nice sand, perfect for kids to play safely and parents to relax.
Eugenio M — Google review
It's lovely to swim right under the bridge. There's a new bar right next to the road too, with snacks and cold drinks.
Espen S — Google review
A wonderful experience for the kids. Swim in the cold fresh water and then the warm sea water. Highly recommended!
Rowan S — Google review
Ice cold water, very refreshing when it's really hot. But don't go during now, during the pandemic. It's impossible to keep distance from other people.

Spiaggia di San Pietro in Bevagna is a well-liked public beach that boasts an extensive expanse of pure white sand and crystal-clear turquoise waters. Additionally, there are a variety of dining options conveniently located nearby. While the beach is undoubtedly beautiful and idyllic, it can be quite crowded during peak summer months. Nonetheless, visitors can expect to unwind and enjoy themselves in this stunning paradise-like setting.

Nice beach but crowded during summer.
Gwen — Google review
Beautiful beaches but too crowded for my liking towards San Pietro. Heading south was better, Monaci and further south. Avoid the obvious tourist spots and you could find a little cive to yourselves. Great for cycling as flat but once again the roads are busy in the high season so take good care!

Located on one side of the Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, there is an unusual sculpture called Il Calvario. This artwork, associated with Calvary, is made from various discarded ceramics and other materials, giving it a unique 'arte povera' aesthetic. The sculpture dates back to the 19th century and stands out as a must-see attraction in Manduria. Its intriguing presence behind railings adds to its distinctiveness.
Calzone is wonderful, very good prices

Parco Archeologico delle Mura Messapiche is a significant historical site located on the northwest side of the town, boasting some of the largest Messapian walls in Italy. The park features well-preserved remains of defensive ditches, an acropolis, and ancient tombs with various artifacts. Visitors can explore the area and gain insights into the city's history through guided tours or self-guided walks. The park offers a unique experience for history enthusiasts and those interested in ancient civilizations.
Amazing site! We had a guided tour with the archaeologist. Very knowledgeable. The site is huge. The only shame is that more is not excavated.

Absolutely fascinating and extensive pre-Roman archaeological site. We phoned ahead to arrange an English guide (recommended), and the wonderful Monika showed us around. The entry is off Piazza Scegnu, not where the marker is on google maps. Further information displays and artifacts from the tombs can be found in the “Terra di Messapi” museum in the centre of Manduria.

GnaMeet is a charming and pristine gourmet burger spot that promises an exceptional dining experience. With a focus on high-quality ingredients, their burgers are crafted with fresh meats and artisanal breads, transforming each dish into a delightful culinary masterpiece. While the ambiance is inviting, be prepared for potential delays in service during busy times due to prioritization of takeout orders over dine-in customers. Reservations can only be made online through Instagram, which may pose a challenge for those less tech-savvy.

(Translated by Google) Very nice and clean place. Excellent food, both appetizers and burgers. The only problem was that we waited over 40 minutes with the place practically empty. There were perhaps four people to be served before our table (there were four of us). The problem is that they gave priority to takeout orders and not to dine-in customers (at least that's what the waitress told me, specifying that they had a lot of takeout orders). (Original) Posto molto bello e pulito. (Translated by Google) If you expect to enter and find yourself in an MC, well, you've made a huge mistake. It is a gourmet burger shop, where selections of meat and varieties of bread (always fresh and quality) make a hamburger a work of visual and culinary art. Different variety of meat and some options even for those who don't like meat. Obviously the prices are not Mc's, but not even starred restaurants. They start from €12/13 for a menu with hamburger and drink. The only comment I feel like making is the cost of the cover charge, I honestly didn't expect it in a hamburger shop even if it was €1. A very good experience to definitely repeat.

(Translated by Google) We went to this place on a pleasant evening in early September. The booking can only be made online, by registering via Instagram, this is a good thing for those who easily use technology, but it could be a limit for those less accustomed. It's true that the place is mainly aimed at a young audience, but I don't see why you should limit yourself by not accepting reservations by telephone or even in person. In fact, we passed by chance having found parking right in front of the venue, we went in at around 7.30pm to book at 9.00pm, but they kindly replied that we could only do so via Instagram. Since I use these tools easily, I then did it while we visited Manduria. Having said this, first of all I would like to applaud the staff, who are extremely kind and helpful. Maybe there were a little few in the room that day, but probably in the busiest periods there are more. The place is very nice, hospitable, and furnished in a sober but careful way. Adequately bright even in the evening. The quality of the food is very good, and the quantity I would even say is excessive. The composition of the sandwiches is also very attractive. The final cost is adequate for the offer, even if as we all know by now the prices have definitely increased for everyone. The only negative note is the toilets which should be looked after more. Of two, one (the women's one) was out of order, in the men's room the door didn't lock, the cleanliness wasn't the best, and the internal handle of the main door was missing. In any case, for a quick and tasty meal I would definitely go back. Advised! Consigliato!

The chophouse restaurant Ristorante La Braceria De Pasquale offers a wide selection of bowler hats that are definitely worth trying. It's important to overlook those who complain about the additional charge for cutlery and instead focus on the quality of the meat they serve, which is their main priority. As you interact with the personnel you immediately understand why the other Braceria has a long queue and this one doesn’t! They do not treat the guest gently and they are quite stingy with the amount of bread and sauces we were given! It is a pity as the quality of the meat is decent! My constructive feedback for you is: 1) put a smile on your face, 2) be gentle with your guests, 3) be generous with bread and sauces, 4) enjoy what you do 😉

I visited Ristorante Le Capannine on a sunny day in November 2020 and the restaurant wasn't busy. The owner provided attentive service, which made me happy. However, I'm unsure if they can maintain the same level of service during the summer season. I ordered a massive and delicious "frittura" that was well fried with fresh fish. The restaurant has an amazing view as it is located on a sandy beach.
I have been here in a sunny day of November 2020. The restaurant wasn't busy at all and the owner gave us lots of attentions. Very happy about the service in this period I am not sure they can provide the same service in the summer period. I had a "frittura" and it was massive and delicious! Well fried and the fish was very fresh.. the view is amazing since you are basically on a sandy beach! It's a family owned business so I suppose service and quality will be lower during busier periods but I will definitely will give it another go! Ask the waiter/owner suggestions on what to order they should address you in the right direction!

Everything was completly burned, we also waited for over an hour to get our dinner. The gap between the first dinner and the next one was around 10 minutes. So when the second person started to eat, the first one was already finished. When we told them that every dinner (4 persons) were burned, they completly denied it. It also looked like we were not the only persons which have had a burned dinner.

Visited the pizzeria few times and the pizza is traditional Neapolitan style. Tasty and fresh ingredients. Some starters traditional from Neapolitan cusine like fried ricotta suffered paccheri pasta are interesting but not very tasty..Very salty and almost burnt. The aubergine meatballs and regular meatballs are rather bland and overfried too. Pizza is the reason to visit the restaurant. Friendly and accommodating staff.

(Translated by Google) We ate here twice. I didn't really want to write a review, but today, for the first time in 45 years, I had to complain about the food. The first time we ate, it was a bit strange that it wasn't possible to order different types of pasta. Nevertheless, we ordered spaghetti for three people (different dishes but the same pasta). Everything was solid, but based on the food itself, I would have given it a solid 4 stars. We went there again today. It was the same story again: the kitchen can only make one type of pasta, which we already knew. This time, however, I ordered grilled calamari. The food arrived relatively quickly after our appetizer. Unfortunately, the calamari wasn't even grilled. It was white and tough, unfortunately not at all the quality I personally expected. I tried the calamari and then immediately left it because it tasted fishy and was rather raw. Unfortunately, no one noticed that something was wrong. The waiters and the manager were right behind us. While clearing the table, the waitress asked me, and I explained my concerns. She asked if I wanted it again, but I said no. Unfortunately, she didn't think it was necessary to inform her boss or even mention it to the kitchen. I paid our bill and thought I'd tell the boss that our visit wasn't so great this time. To my surprise, it wasn't really important to him. Today was the very first time in my life that I've complained about food, and I'm certainly not picky, but the way I was reacted here is incomprehensible to me. I rave to all my friends about how beautiful Puglia is and how hospitable everyone is. This is the first time I've had to advise against something. I hope this was just a bad day.

(Translated by Google) Let me start by saying that, for me, kindness and humility are the most important things that make people special. In your restaurant, all these elements are unknown to you. From the moment we were welcomed, it was immediately clear that the lady was annoyed. As the evening progressed, it got worse and worse. We ordered two portions of potatoes, one of gratinated mussels, and four scialatelli with clams. The service was completely non-existent. They brought the portions of potatoes and mussels just like that. We had to ask for the dishes ourselves. The first courses arrived, the pasta was cold and sticky, inedible, and we had to leave them. I'm disgusted by the chef's arrogance when he showed up at the table and told us to go to hell, saying we'd never eaten scialatelli with clams. To conclude, even though there's so much to say, we'll never return to your restaurant. Being from Manduria, I hate to speak ill of a restaurant in my hometown, but in this case, I advise you to humble yourself, or you'll lose all your customers. With this, I'm responding to your lies. We had cleaned all the clams beforehand so we could eat them with the pasta; only a forkful was missing from the plate, just enough to understand that it wasn't a dish worth eating. And anyway, I'll come in person tonight to find out who knows me and can tell you that I'm causing problems.

Day 2

Proximity is everything
For day 2, we bundled attractions like Consorzio Produttori Vini and The Museum of Primitivo Wine and other places within a close range, so that the time it takes to travel between all of them is less than one hour. Combined with the average time people spend there, your day should take about 6 hours.

The best place in town to taste and experience authentic Primitivo di Manduria. Staff is very kind and knowledgeable. I recommend the museum tour with guide followed by their wine tasting. All of their wines are excellent. My personal favourite is Elegia.

We were a walk-in, group of 2 and wanted to do a tasting and buy some wine. We didn’t have a reservation. After couple of minutes wondering around, we asked for the tasting and a professional came over and took care of us. We ended up having 7-8 glasses accompanied with sommelier’s description and then picked the wines we wanted to buy. We were surprised, that we were charged only for the wines and the tasting was free. 100% recommended!

Excellent winery with lots of history - they have a museum in the lower level. The staff is very warm and friendly, and the wine is very good.

A wonderful experience with PRIMITIVO DI MANDURIA! The staff took the time to explain and let us taste their amazing wines without a reservation. The flavours were rich and incredible—we loved it so much and left with nine bottles of wine.

This is a cooperative. They have wines for all budgets and bulk wines also. Puglia is no longer just a land of red wines. There are unique white and rosato wines. But you come for the primativo.

Excellent local wines, at very good prices. Can recommend Alice, Zion and the sparkling Leggiadro Brut is superb, at only €16 a bottle

The museum is very interesting. Competent and engaging staff (multi-language) guides you towards an awsome tasting experience. Wines for different budgets, price is related to the refining process. Excellent "Primitivo di Manduria" Aka Lirica Elegia & Madrigale

Museum
Specialty Museums
The Museum of Primitivo Wine, located in Manduria, Puglia, is a must-visit for wine enthusiasts. The museum showcases the history and significance of the Primitivo grape, which is famous for producing rich and full-bodied red wines with notes of dark fruit. The town's DOC status has put it on the map as a hub for wine lovers. Visitors can enjoy guided tours that include wine tastings featuring four different varieties paired with delicious snacks.
Wevordered this tour before coming to Manduria, confirmation for museum tour and vine tasting came by email really fast. The museum is very interesting and our guide Katja was a superb conosseur of Primitivo and excellent story teller! The vine tasting included 4 different vines and yummy snacks! We were offered a 10% discount for the vine. Both the tour and the tasting are great and for the small fee of 16 eur per person - it is great value for money! Absolutely recommend!

Must book a day in advance for tour and tasting- we didnt see anything like that listed on the website. Its okay, our mistake. Cool looking museum ! You can just look around for free. Some English is spoken by staff

Great wines and a great winery mentality. We had a nice guided visit today by the museum where we learned a bit about the Primitivo history and also how the Produtori di Manduria was able to bring together several vineyard’s to create great labels. A big shout and thank you to Roberta, which was amazing guiding us today and is very knowledgeable about the wines and the region.

It is underground where the old vats for making wine were located, made from stone. Old wine equipment and farm tools. Gives you a view of what rural life was in Puglia many years ago.

Adjacent to the Parco Archeologico lies the Fonte Pliniano, a renowned historic feature mentioned by Pliny the Elder in his Natural History. Pliny describes it as a well that always maintained a consistent water level and had an almond tree growing from its core. This remarkable sight still exists today and has become integral to the town's coat of arms. Due to its location away from the city center, it is advisable to visit Fonte Pliniano directly when traveling by car.

However, it is interesting to understand the origins of the symbol of the city of Manduria. We were at the tasting on January 10th. Thank you so much for receiving us promptly. We were very pleased with the large selection of Primitivo, Negroamaro and other wines typical of the Puglia region. Many thanks to Alessia, who revealed us, through the peculiarities of each wine, the diversity of the landscape of the Puglia region with its specific soils, the influence of the Ionian Sea, the taste characteristics of grapes and, accordingly, the products obtained from these varieties. The wines of this producer are distinguished by their amazing taste, while with a fairly democratic price. Our favorite is Di Mare :). While the tasting was going on, we saw a continuous stream of wine and olive oil buyers at the winery, which indicates their popularity. We wish you good luck and prosperity to your business, a good harvest and a huge number of customers! Highly recommended! We hope to come back more than once! Alessia, thank you!!!

(Translated by Google) The Primitivo wine tasting at Cantolio was a memorable experience, made even more special by Alessia's attentive and passionate guide. With great expertise, she led us on a wine journey, starting with the less structured Primitivos, already excellent for their balance and pleasantness, and moving on to wines of great complexity and body like *Terra* and *Mare*, as well as the surprising new entry: the non-sweet passito, a burst of intensity and refinement. Every glass was a genuine pleasure, described with passion and rare attention to detail. The only real problem? The limited capacity of the car trunk: we wanted to take much more than we could carry! Everything was absolutely delicious. Cantolio confirms itself as an unmissable stop for those who love authentic wine and sincere experiences.

(Translated by Google) Mid-August Lunch 2025 Let's start with the appetizer: everything was served cold, including meatballs, stuffed mussels, pettole, and a savory pie that was inedible because it was too cold and hard to chew. One of the two first courses was okay, although we asked for second courses and were told by the waiter that "the first round had been given a large portion" and therefore we couldn't have a second. Second course: trofiette with zucchini cream, speck, and crumbled tarallo. The tarallo wasn't on the plate, it must have been lost along the way, and my sister-in-law found two large pieces of whole zucchini on her plate. Disgusting. The flavor was all you could taste, cream, strictly Eurospin. The second course was julienned squid au gratin with mixed salad: edible, but not overly so. Now, expect the highlight of the menu. The menu said "house tiramisu," but we can confirm, as I and everyone else at the table did, that the tiramisu was the Dolcezza brand from Eurospin. I've attached a photo below. Not to mention the drinks, orange juice and cocola, which were Eurospin Blues, poured into a jug before being served. In short, it was a terrible experience. I definitely won't be returning. The price/quality ratio is too high. I can't pay €35 per person for a menu that looked like it had a special agreement with Eurospin. Please don't call yourselves chefs or cooks or that restaurant because it was absolutely disgusting. And finally, the service from the waiters was awful and rude.

We started eating at 2 PM and finished at 6 PM. The waits were truly exorbitant between courses; it wasn't clear whether they were cooking the next course or had to wash the dishes, which clearly weren't enough for everyone! Of the various courses, the only one I'd consider worthy of a mention was one of the two first courses, cavatelli with seafood, truly excellent. The appetizer was lukewarm and the savory tart inedible. I would have made the second course better at home, sticking with the taralli crumble, which was completely absent here. The second course, julienned cuttlefish gratin, was good but cold, and the salad was undressed. The highlight? Homemade tiramisu, a cake bought from Eurospin (with all due respect to Eurospin), and when my husband pointed this out, they rudely replied that it was a pastry shop dessert! The only bottled drinks were beer and water...the latter ran out at some point, and they brought us an open bottle, taken from who knows what table, filled from the tap. Would I go back? Probably, but only to teach them how to interact with customers, using courtesy and kindness!

(Translated by Google) We tried it for the first time for lunch on August 15th and had a great time. The appetizers were good, as were the first and second courses, all of which were undoubtedly fresh fish. The staff was courteous, but I don't think it's fair to not put a knife at the table, as happened to us; in a 4-star restaurant like that, I expected to find both cutlery and not just a fork. Another small criticism (always constructive) concerns the takeout service, as there was no tray or anything else you could ask for leftover food. I'll definitely be back to try the pizza. The place is very nice, with a pool, but I suggest a wheelchair ramp.

As soon as we entered we were greeted by the kindness of the owners and the fresh meat counter, TOP! They explained everything to us and our every request could be fulfilled or almost fulfilled. Ready...sliced beef with parmesan and sauce, puccia with hamburger and bombette with chips. All with a good Raffo beer. Excellent dinner, delicious meat and the courtesy and smile of the owners (at least I think...) made us seem at home even though we are 1100km away. It was a pleasure, well done. Blessed are those who can continue to frequent you!!! 5 stars well deserved!!! (Translated by Google) I've been to this grill restaurant twice in just four days, and it was a wonderful surprise. Alessandro practically hosts you in his home in a beautiful garden with a pool. You personally choose the cuts of meat (very good) directly from the butcher's counter, the side dishes (a vast selection), and the drinks are brought to your table. It's family-run, and everyone is friendly and helpful, creating a relaxing and convivial atmosphere. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because I'd like to see a little more clarity on the prices of drinks and side dishes, because they don't provide you with a menu... The prices aren't particularly high, but they're not cheap either, in line with summer prices in Puglia... Consigliato🥰🥰

Everything was excellent for just €71. The owner seems a bit gruff, but he's actually very serious and truly cares about his job. Palazzo Corcioli - Giannuzzi is a stunning example of 16th-century architecture located in the heart of Manduria. While this private property cannot be visited, its exterior captivates passersby with beautiful balconies and intricate details that are best admired from the street. Once serving as a school in the 1930s, it now stands as a testament to the rich history of the Giannuzzi family who commissioned its construction.

We stumbled across this lovely restaurant on our trip around Puglia and had the best meal of our holiday! We dont usually go back to the same restaurants twice but we couldn’t resist another meal at this wonderful restaurant on our second night at manduria ( and another couple came back the following night too!) Our waitress was so hospitable and helpful and the food simply delicious and outstanding. The meal was full of unexpected surprises with home made nibbles before our first course started and with the BEST surprise at the very end!

A Standout Delight in Manduria Manduria, a small town in southern Italy, best known for Primitivo, isn't necessarily a gem to visit. But All'Hosteria, a modern restaurant in the town's historic center, is changing that. The restaurant's chef is passionate about creating delicious and innovative dishes, including seafood, meat and vegetarian options. His slow-cooked aubergine, for example, is a standout. The aubergine is vacuum slow-cooked until it is meltingly tender, and it is then topped with a flavorful tomato sauce. The other dishes on the tasting menu are equally impressive. The homemade gnocchi or the egg in pesto are rich and flavorful. For dessert, the tiramisù is rich and decadent. The service at All'Hosteria is above and beyond. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable, and he is happy to make recommendations. He also gives great suggestions for wines to pair with your dishes. The atmosphere at All'Hosteria is warm and inviting. The restaurant is located in a beautiful courtyard, and it is the perfect place to enjoy a leisurely meal with friends or family. We highly recommend All'Hosteria to anyone visiting Manduria. It is a great restaurant with delicious food, excellent service, and a warm and inviting atmosphere. The Verdict: A must-visit in Manduria.

S. L — Google review
(Translated by Google) I'm very sorry to have to express my profound disappointment regarding my experience with this pizzeria. If I remember correctly, I've ordered takeout pizza here three times (picked up by us and eaten at home), choosing it primarily because it's the closest to my house (about 5 km). However, both the last time (I don't remember the exact date) and tonight, the pizzas were, once again, completely inedible: rock hard and burned on the bottom (the one in the photo is actually the least serious!). Of the three pizzas ordered (as shown on the receipt), after cutting them to avoid the charred parts (the bottom) and the burned edge, only one remained intact and edible. We practically threw the other two away. Last time, for the sake of peace, I didn't contact the restaurant, thinking it was an isolated incident. Tonight, however, I called to report the problem. The kind lady on the phone offered to return the pizza and make me a new one, but unfortunately I had to leave in a hurry for work, so I decided against it. In the end, after discarding the burnt parts, the pizza was only half eaten (basically, when you cut it, one pizza came out), eaten by two people. I left and stopped at another pizzeria for a quick panzerotto. By the way, the French fries were also unsatisfactory: a strong onion smell made the little girl refuse them because onion makes her nauseous. In short, over €20 wasted. A word of advice to customers, especially regulars: before picking up the pizza, check it immediately. And I'm not referring to the rock-hard pizza (perhaps overcooked), but the charred pieces. While a single bite of burnt food isn't dangerous, regular consumption is still not recommended, as it's carcinogenic. Conclusion? A ruined evening. After two failed attempts out of three, sadly I won't be returning. In sintesi, oltre 20 euro spesi male.

Terrible experience ! First we felt extremely unwelcomed. Second, we ordered paninis and were directed to order another style of bread which looked like industrial burrito bread. Then, what we got was not what we had ordered, which we figured out once we had left. The sandwiches were also once of the most tasteless we ever had in Italy. Last, they charged us the “tourist face”, which was more than what was stated on the menu !! The Arco di Santa Maria, a significant architectural feature in the city of Locorotondo, stands as an important gateway to the ancient Messapian civilization. This historical landmark, although not corresponding to an entrance door of the ancient Messapian city, holds immense cultural value. It is considered a jewel among the many attractions this region has to offer.

(Translated by Google) Porta Sant'Angelo – The Renaissance Gate of Manduria At the western entrance to Manduria, like a stone guardian guarding centuries of history, stands the Porta Sant'Angelo, also called Porta Napoli. This majestic arch, erected towards the end of the 16th century, was once the main gateway into the city for those arriving from Taranto or Naples. With its Renaissance lines and harmonious proportions, the Porta Sant'Angelo reflects the elegant sobriety of its time. In the mid-17th century, the inhabitants of Manduria enhanced it with three figures sculpted in the local golden tufe stone: in the center, the Immaculate Virgin, taller than the others, stands as a symbol of purity and protection; beside her, Saint Gregory the Great and Saint Charles Borromeo, patrons of wisdom and faith, watch over the city and its harvests. Above the arch, an engraved inscription proudly proclaims: **Manduria Restituta** —*Manduria Restored*—. With these words, the city celebrated the recovery of its ancient name in 1789, after centuries of being known as *Casalnuovo*. That phrase became an emblem of identity and rebirth for the entire town. Today, Porta Sant’Angelo is not just a stone relic: it is a **symbolic door to the past**, a living testament to the devotion, resilience, and pride of Manduria. Anyone who passes through its arch still feels the echo of a city that, between faith and art, knew how to reinvent itself without forgetting its roots.

Nestled in the charming town of Manduria, Palazzo Donna Elisabetta is a delightful guest house that exudes both history and tranquility. As you arrive, you'll be greeted by the owner, Elisabetta Arno, whose refined style reflects her rich experiences between Paris and Venice before returning to her roots in Puglia. The palazzo features stunning frescoed bedrooms accessible via an elegant marble staircase.
I had an excellent stay at Palazzo Donna Elisabetta! The renovated building captures its own history with a new luxury feel; the grounds are beautiful; the staff and owners are very kind; the location is right in the heart of Manduria; the food is excellent. You'll see family heirlooms decorating the halls. It's really a special place!

A hidden gem in the heart of Puglia. Our stay at the palazzo was nothing short of amazing. Nested in the centre of the city? But completely secluded, this place made me feel like a queen. The rooms are exquisite and the garden and pool are a dream. A truly restful and incredible stay

A wonderful hotel, located in an old palazzo. It’s just a 5 minute walk from the historic city center of Manduria, but the hotel and its beautiful garden are very peaceful. In the garden, there’s a nice pool with lounge chairs and bar service in the late afternoon/evening. The breakfast was extensive, fresh and of great quality. What really stood out was the attentiveness and helpfulness of the staff. Due to the fact that this hotel does not have many rooms, you’ll get a lot of personal attention. The manager Filippo provided us with great local tips and made bookings for excursions like vineyard and olive oil manufacturer visits. For those who want to explore Puglia, this is a great base. Manduria lies quite central and most places are easily reached within an hour of driving. Manduria itself provides several great restaurants and the hotel provides the relaxation and further enjoyment. Thanks again to the entire staff of Palazzo Donna Elisabetta for a wonderful stay!

A very magical spot, hosted by very lovely and kind people. Elisabetta & her husband are welcoming all the way. The hotel is super special due to its design of the rooms & the mystical garden. Where do I even start? Elisabetta and her staff are absolutely incredible. The estate and it’s garden is stunning and the staff was very attentive and so sweet. You can feel the love Elisabetta has put into the renovations while perserving the charm and spirit of 1881. The room was very clean. It was very quiet and calming. I will certainly come back here. 10/10

Restaurant
Ristorante Al Castello is a delightful establishment that may prove challenging to locate. The waitstaff, predominantly Italian, exude charm and warmth, although their command of the English language is limited and their patience somewhat lacking. Unfortunately, the availability of fresh basilicum was scarce and its absence left a disheartening impression. Nevertheless, this eatery offers more than just a profession; it excels in service, culinary offerings, and an extensive selection of alcoholic beverages that surpasses expectations.
Located in an old charming palazzo in the historic centre of Manduria, the restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor dining, the latter with tables on the sidewalk of the old piazza - nice, but subject to the traffic noise that at times can be annoying. The food was excellent, we enjoyed our pasta dishes (orecchiette con melanzane e cacioricotta, and spaghetti alle vongole) and the trancio di spada alla brace that we both chose, fresh and well prepared. With shared appetiser of bruschette tradizionali, a bottle of white wine (Alice, from local verdeca grapes), water, coffee, and limoncello, the bill for the two of us was €85. Service was cordial and efficient. The overall ambiance was pleasant and welcoming, perhaps the music played in the indoor pizzeria/bar area was a little too loud and "overflowed" into the outside dining area. If you park the the blue lines section and use one of the APP services like EasyPark, be aware that the "parking spot number" that may be asked for is indicated in a little tag attached to the curb along the individual parking spot. We had a pleasant evening, and will be back.

We went here for dinner and had appetizers and pizza. Everything was really good but not exceptional or fancy. Great, if you are looking for good traditional food. Good value for money. The staff didn't speak English but they were very friendly and taught us even a few words Italian in the process.

I was disappointed with the food. My partner and I ordered the same pasta dish as our main course. The pasta tasted like something out of a package and the sauce was watery and tasteless. We also had the meatballs which were dry and tasteless. I think we would have been better ordering the pizza. The wine was nice.

La Locanda di AntonVito is a hidden gem in Manduria that promises an unforgettable dining experience. Initially, my husband and I were hesitant after glancing at the menu, but we quickly realized our mistake when we returned to discover a delightful array of fresh starters like chicories and fennel. The main courses featured an impressive selection of meat and vegetable dishes, including a standout cauliflower soufflé and perfectly cooked broccoli.
Worth a visit at least because of the authentic atmosphere and the dynamic and friendly service by the waitress. Food was ok, we had antipasti and ciciri e tria and ravioloni. Honest prices. But the fact that during the dinner anything can happen at the tables near you is the main reason to dine here.

La Locanta di Antonvito is hands down THE BEST PLACE FOR LUNCH IN MANDURIA. Meat and about 6 different veggie dishes like cauliflower soufflé, broccoli done well, tasty chicory, etc. to continue the meal extravaganza. My husband loved his tripe (Trippa)and me the fava & chicory. Friendly service. Did I mention friendly and packed with all locals, including a birthday party of about 40 people? Novello wine was sweet and not to our taste, but what a fabulous meal and local experience!

Day 5

Off the beaten path
For day 5, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Cantina Cantore Di Castelforte. Not quite as popular as The Museum of Primitivo Wine, but still highly rated among many travelers. Accounting for getting around and average time spent, today’s activities could take about 2 hours.

(Translated by Google) Excellent wine for both the primitivo and the sparkling white. The product is given 5 stars, I should have given 1 star for the welcome, especially for a sales assistant who didn't say hello and didn't ask what I needed. Luckily the colleague rha had to leave the other customer for a moment to serve me. Well done to the curly-haired shop assistant (Original) Vino ottimo sia ul primitivo e il frizzantino bianco. (Translated by Google) Local and historic cellar with quality local wines and according to the most important varieties of the area. I recommend the Chardonnay bubbles of great elegance and perfect to accompany fish fries and paranza. The Negroamaro rosés are delicate and fresh. Try the Aglianico del Salento. The primitive is present in different shades, and reigns supreme. Primitivo Donna Maria and Salice Salentino Donna Francesca are the wines that surprised me the most. I visited the winery during the "open cellars" initiative of the wine tourism movement and I am happy to have had the opportunity, which I highly recommend to anyone visiting Manduria (Original) Cantina locale e storica con vini locali di qualità e secondo le più importanti varietà del territorio.

It costs 11 euros, I had 10 euros in cash on me, he made me go back to the house to get one euro, even though I had paid for delivery, and I ended up coming to get it anyway. I get in the car, the pizza is watery, it's all over my dashboard. Basically, in Manduria they say 'asshole and head scuffed'... As for the location there is nothing to say, we still had fun and had a great party. Thank you. (Translated by Google) Graduation party. Stunning location, it's just that shame. My great expectations given by everything previously set were completely disappointing and negative. This is because the food was not enough, half or more of the guests were left with completely empty plates in front of the buffet! Buffet with very small portions. Great confusion and discomfort with the guests. The food was definitely not for 80 people. We were shocked. As regards payment, in the end the agreements were not kept, agreements made very clear by the director himself! The children from the middle(agreement) were ALL paid in full! Finally, as regards the cake, delicious, but it wasn't made to the required taste (not even a hint of crunchy and Nutella). We never expected such treatment. Greetings (Original) Festa di laurea. Location stupenda, peccato solo quella. Saluti

(Translated by Google) Despite the "atypical" evening (due to the lack of electricity), the candles on the table and the excellent food meant that the Valentine's evening was still pleasant. Excellent food, excellent presentation and a very welcoming room. If only the guest of the evening had had a traditional violin with him, and not an electric one, the atmosphere would have warmed up, making up for the cold that was spreading in the room. I imagine that this situation created panic in the kitchen, but fortunately, everything was perfect on the food. The work of the girls in the room who somehow had to provide explanations to those like us who asked for information, hoping for the light to return as quickly as possible, was also appreciable. I can only advise the owner to add some emergency lights near the entrance door and along the beautiful corridor leading outside. I don't deny that I "misunderstood" that everything had been created artfully starting from the advance payment, but then trying to better understand and understand, I think that the owners themselves were the first victims; therefore, my compliments go to them for having managed the kitchen part in the best possible way. I hope to be able to try this place again, certainly in a context where everything works properly. Good work! Buon lavoro!

I don't agree, the second course arrived at the table completely cold ... the baked potatoes were frozen ... we dined with our coats ... . you say that the service was guaranteed, I tell you that it was arranged... yet we paid for the service in full... it would have been enough for the owner to have apologized to the customers in person... and maybe he could have remedy this by making a second invitation for a pizza or aperitif on another evening.. Dress doesn't make the man. Best regards.
