Archaeological site
Lido
Nestled along the stunning coastline of Anzio, Grotte di Nerone is a captivating destination that combines natural beauty with rich history. This sandy beach features intriguing tunnels and caves, all set against the backdrop of the ancient ruins of Emperor Nero's villa, which served as his summer retreat. Although only remnants remain today, they are well-preserved and offer a glimpse into Roman culture for visitors to explore.
Beautiful little spot about 90 mins from Rome on the train. Great for a day out away from the city.
Taylor H — Google review
Among the best known beaches on the coast south of Rome, the Grotte di Nerone beach at Anzio concentrates sea, history and archaeology in one place. In addition to a beautiful beach of golden sand and, often, crystal-clear sea, in fact, here is one of the most important archaeological sites in Lazio: the remains of Nero's majestic imperial villa.
Simona B — Google review
Beautiful but it's on a public beach so very crowded.
S K — Google review
The remains of the villa are visible through a fence, but this seems to be mainly falling down the cliff. Lacking helpful signs, but still interesting enough.

Out of the season is quite and clean, perfect for walking early in the morning. Well preserved the caves are very popular “must see” in Anzio.
Silviya L — Google review
Marvellous place, despite all the rubbish in the sand and the caves themselves. Wether you are interested in taking a dive into history and/or some clear blue waters, this is worth the visit 100%. The water is perfect (temperature, clarity, depth for small and tall) and the beach itself is not that overcrowded. If you are there to swim, BEWARE OF THE FISH. I had the unforgettable opportunity to step on a lesser weever (google it) rather close to the coast, with the water being at my waist level while standing on sand. But I must say that despite all that pain and fear from this poisonous experience, I would go back with no hesitation.

Nice caves, beach, and Roman villa ruins. Popular beach but not very clean. All non-beach entrances are closed.

Beautiful port 40km south of Rome!! Nice view with landscape of Nettuno city and mountains!! Delicious fish restaurant along the port side!! A place to visit for a walk or to have a nice lunch!!! All time of the year especially on weekend is a nice idea to come here!! 🇮🇹👍🌅

A town at the sea, with a stretch of beach. Its 1 hour from Rome by train. The beach is nice, but as often in Italy full of people. The town itself has not much to offer
Hartmut P — Google review
A very nice little port town! Very family friendly, lots of nice places to eat and lots of kids playing in the streets all night. There’s not much else though. Also there are no -none whatsoever- taxi’s. Ever. And the buss schedule stops around 9pm. so easy to get stuck here unfortunately. But its a enjoyable little place

Specialty Museums
Anzio BeachHead Museum, also known as Museo dello Sbarco Alleato, is located in the 17th century Villa Adele and houses a captivating collection of documents, battle plans, maps, photographs, and various artifacts related to Operation Shingle during World War II. The museum is situated near the Anzio War Cemetery and the American Cemetery of Neptune.
Such a wonderful, educational museum! They did their presentation in English and Italian. I learned so much and there is a ton of memorabilia to look at. The family stories were awesome to read and learn about. We have friends who had relatives who were in the Anzio campaign.

Tasteful and informative. The visitor center has a small interactive exhibit with a, worth watching, short video. Very peaceful and well maintained grounds. Ellen Ainsworth is commemorated. A female soldier awarded the Silver Star for bravery because she calmly treated the injured during raids.

I highly recommend visiting this museum while in Anzio. If you can, visit this place during weekends - there are volunteers that are guiding you through all the important pieces while telling you all the history behind them. Special thanks to our lovely guide - Giuseppina Panico - she made our day!
Fîrte G — Google review
There is one small crowded room in a very large building dedicated to the Anzio landings. This is an eclectic mixed collection of a wide variety of military great, attire, munitions, documents and images. This collection could easily be far better displayed in a larger area in adjacent nearly unused rooms. Due to the International nature of this collection, translations into the languages of the other primary combatants (English and German) would be highly appropriate but are not done. There is a very bland, minimalistic and uninformative -but well translated- museum brochure. Likely due to the extreme crowding of artifacts the collection loses context and persons that had not previously studied the landings could easily misinterpret displays. The displays of different Country relics are so jammed together that they mix, if one did not already know what items belonged to what Country, the museum could easily create confusion. The rest of the large museum building contains a small collection of minimally labeled ancient Roman sculpture and artifacts sparsely spaced in many rooms. Very few translations and those that exist are poorly translated.

Very informative museum, with friendly welcoming staff. If you have an interest in the Italy campaigns in WWII including Anzio, this exhibition is highly recommended.

My husband loved looking at the ww2 memorabilia. It has some interesting photos. The museum is closed from 1pm -5 pm.Keep this in mind if planning your trip. Entrance is free but you can make a donation on leaving. Two short films are included in the museum itinerary. The Roman museum is well worth looking around it has some interesting pieces from all Roman periods .
Sharon T — Google review
The small but incredibly well curated Anzio Beachhead Museum is dedicated to the Allied amphibious landing on 22 January 1944, called Operation Shingle, which was intended to bypass the German Gustav Line and enable a thrust toward Rome. The museum is in four sections—American, British, German and Italian—and displays authentic uniforms, weapons, medals, documents, battle plans and daily-life objects from the war. Most striking possibly are the original photographs from the area which, together with the newspapers of the day, give a very vivid account. Many of the exhibits were recovered from the waters off the coast including wrecks of warships and landing craft. I happened to go when the entrance was free and there was a presentation of some films of the landings, which were really very impressive. Definitely worth the visit for anyone remotely interested in WW2 history.

This is a very well-done small museum. Very welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable staff. I highly recommend this in conjunction with a visit to the cemetery in nearby Nessuno.

Park
Villa Adele is one of the historic villas in Anzio, Italy, known for its beautiful green park and housing the Anzio Landing Museum and the Archaeological Museum. The villa's exterior and gardens were described in a 1650 publication by Giacomo Manilli, providing insight into Scipione Borghese's art collection.
Is a beautiful garden in the back of the war and archeologic museum in Anzio, it was the house of different important people and the state keep the maintenance very well, I was never expecting a place so beautiful in the middle of a beach town.

Wonderful villa with splendid gardens in Anzio which, together with Villa Albani and Villa Sarsina, represents one of the three major villas of great historical and architectural importance, seat of the Municipality of Anzio and the Allied Landing Museum. Pope Clement VIII commissioned Monsignor Bartolomeo Cesi to devise beautiful initiatives to make the city more prosperous and chose the location on a small hill overlooking the sea with a park on the surrounding land. The Borghese family, Francesco Borghese-Aldobrandini named "Adele" the Villa in Anzio in honor of his bride, designed the "Hall of the Shells" on the covered courtyard where Institution and Culture events take place.

Le Leccornie Del Gatto is a delightful culinary gem that keeps drawing visitors back for more. With a menu that changes daily based on the freshest catch, diners can enjoy both set menus and à la carte options, all reasonably priced for the charming atmosphere. The seafood offerings are particularly noteworthy, with an excellent crudo spread recommended by what seems to be the owner.

Me and my partner went there for late lunch. We had to wait for the table, which was OK. But then, we waited like 20mins and still weren't waited, not even offered the menu. After we asked (had to raise hands, raise voice at waiter..) for the menu ourselves, we then had to wait AGAIN around 15-20 mins. And nobody came. Not once, to serve us, to take order, nothing. And we weren't the only ones. Otger customers there aswell, had to wait and ask several times to even be able to pay and leave. It was awful. So we left, without even hearing an apology from them or anything. Terrible terrible experience. Will not visit again and can't recommend.
Jana Š — Google review
The quality of service was terrible. We waited a long while just to get the menu. Once we got the menu we were being ignored. Even after politely asking the waiter if we could order we were still being ignored. In the end we were forced to leave empty handed without getting served anything.

Condrea V — Google review
The food is average to mediocre. Not sure how one can mess up a simple spaghetti al pomodoro. But apparently it's possible when you dump the entire salt shaker on it before serving. The seafood is meh... Which was odd being so close to the beach. But worst of all was the service. I don't expect people to kiss up to us just because we're tourists. But we're always very respectful and my Italian may not be good but I was trying my hardest It would've been nice if this young lady at least attempted to hide her contempt. Or whatever her issue was.

place is cute and staff lovable although there is no menu and prices are a little confusing, indeed we "overpaid" pasta dish believing it would cost less! beside that meal was good but i'd say a little too pricey!

In addition to the set menu, you can choose à la carte, and the prices are appropriate for the setting. The only downside, if I may say so, is that the menu is tied to the catch of the day. Apparently the 30+minutes between serving different members of our party was because the food is made from scratch - without any attempt to coordinate arrival time. That didn't excuse the lack of clearing plates and bad service. Some of the food was lacking. They really seem to be for tourists as they didn't care for a second visit. Avoid. Next door is so much better- both in quality and price.

Service level unacceptable!! At the beginning the manager even didn't look at us - just point table we can sit with very offended face. unfortunately, typical stereotype "Italian land-lord' atmosphere. We wanted only drink wine after walk and try aperitif menu (to decide stay longer for dinner or not). When the manager and waiters heard our order (no dinner and dessert at once) where totally unpleasant and rude> I would understand that they need orders as big as possible, but we were only group in this restaurant. We just stand up and go to other restaurant - with nice people and family&tasty atmosphere. NOT RECOMMENDED!

Villa Imperiale, also known as Porto di Anzio, is a must-visit destination in Anzio. This historical port offers breathtaking natural beauty and panoramic views of lovely beaches. It holds significant historical importance as the birthplace of Emperor Nero. The villa's base structure remains intact, but no major pieces of the building are left. Visitors can enjoy swimming in the area and witness the dramatic sea caves, although some may be disappointed by the presence of rubbish.
Historically interesting place. Look for the 3D animation you can find in internet. Imagine Nero or Caligula here

Popped down from Rome to go to the WW2 museum but unfortunately it is closed on a Monday; probably should have checked. Never mind, it was a beautiful afternoon and perfect for a wander on the beach and various headlands. The remains of Nero's villa are clearly visible from the beach but not accessible, not sure if there's a museum at the top of the cliff or not but didn't look like it. Lovely town, lots of shops, restaurants and bars, all pretty quiet today but I suspect it's very lively in the holidays.

You can't see much, but you can wonder around freely and, most likely, alone. You have to imagine what it was, which is impressive, and look at the sea in front to feel the grandiosity of it. If around, you may want to have a walk there (but read about it before, since I didn't see anything to read on the spot!).

Experience the charm of Anzio by choosing to stay at Orizzonte Anzio, a delightful accommodation that offers a range of amenities including air conditioning and internet access. While it may not have an extensive food selection like a supermarket, it provides essential items at reasonable prices. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with friendly staff who create a familial vibe that makes shopping feel relaxed and enjoyable.

Riserva Naturale Regionale Tor Caldara is a coastal reserve known for its hiking trails and opportunities for exploration. The area features lush forests, sulfur springs, and a historic tower. It includes Tor Caldara beach, which is bordered by dunes and areas of sulphurous water with underwater springs just offshore. This natural reserve offers a splendid green space with diverse plant and animal life, making it an ideal destination for nature enthusiasts.
Amazing natural park and reserve of LAzio Region. located north of wonderful Anzio is a beautiful natural reserve with amazing cliffs and clear sea!! Is a beautful place to hiking and watch the sunset!! :)
Davide D — Google review
Quite interesting to visit but open only 3 mornings (Thu, Sat and Sun) per week. Why??? Could be maintained much better than it currently is as it has a high potential but unfortunately that is not the case currently. The territory of the reserve appears almost flat, and ends at the sea on top of a cliff about 15 meters high on the sea level. The tower which gives its name to the reserve is situated on the highest point of the cliff, and was used to control the Lazio coast, from pirate raids. Would be nice if they could open it also at night from time to time so that people could see the stars benefitting from the absence of artificial lights. Thanks to those who decided to create this small natural park that prevented the crazy urbanisation that has ruined the area.

Great nature-break from the beach.Forrest trail (sort of marked / circular to follow) in the shade arriving at old tower with great view of the coastline. Ristorante al Turcotto is a top-notch seafood eatery situated in a stunning location, boasting a captivating terrace facing the sea and close to the Tomba di Nerone archaeological site. The appetizers on offer are delectable, with an extensive range of unique hot and cold options. The main courses and desserts are equally impressive, ensuring that no dish here is ordinary. Despite its high quality, the pricing remains reasonable.
**⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Culinary Masterpiece at Ristorante al Turcotto!** Ristorante al Turcotto is a hidden treasure in the Italian dining scene! Located in the picturesque seaside town of Anzio, this restaurant seamlessly blends Turkish and Italian flavors in a way that is nothing short of extraordinary. With its long-standing history and tradition, Turcotto has perfected the art of merging two rich culinary heritages. From the moment we arrived, the warm and inviting ambiance set the tone for a memorable afternoon. The service was impeccable, with staff who were both knowledgeable and passionate about the food they served. It's clear that Ristorante al Turcotto is not just about dining; it's an experience that honours the fusion of two beautiful cultures. If you're ever in Anzio, don't miss the chance to dine here. This restaurant is a true gem, and I can’t wait to return!

We arrived without reservation, luckily somebody canceled so we could get their place. The reserved spot was by the window, awesome place. Friends suggested this historical restaurant, so we had high expectations for this 200 year old place. Unfortunately, this is my opinion: 1star for great view 1star for nice food To tell the truth the service looked bit rude. We did not order wine, from then they started to push us to order, to be quick… that made us feel bad… they were super fast by sending out our plate but way too quick. I have never been treated like this in an Italian restaurant… even the food was not too bad but the mood and attitude was very unpleasant. Hope they’ll improve

This is such a lovely place, if you are visiting the area this restaurant is worth a visit, of course if you love fish dishes. The location which is in a beautiful spot over the sea where you can admire the historical side of the coast and the sea, the interior is really pretty and not overcrowded. The food and service is spot on, I would say that they should get a Michelin Star, as they’re really next level, they have a nice mix of classic dishes and really nice contemporary dishes where you can tell that they have a top quality chefs. I will be visiting again as soon as I will be around ❤️

(Translated by Google) For those who eat and appreciate meat, it's the most important reference point I've ever found. Luciano is an experienced restaurateur and the only one I know who selects the finest meat from small breeders, purchasing the entire animal and personally processing and cutting the animal. Since he doesn't buy from large retailers, his product is unique and impossible to find elsewhere, even at a substantial price. Furthermore, the asking price is negligible compared to the absolute quality combined with the selection of prized breeds such as Galician ox, old cow, Simmenthal, etc., all selected from small breeders. For true carnivores, you'll find a hot prosciutto appetizer with a huge aging refrigerator from which to choose only the best. Luciano, an absolute benchmark.

If you're looking for a delightful dining experience in Anzio, Al Terzo is the place to be! This charming seafood restaurant offers an array of mouthwatering dishes that will tantalize your taste buds. The highlight of the meal is undoubtedly the "cooked appetizers," featuring ten distinct seafood delicacies, each bursting with unique flavors.
Fantastic fish restaurant right by the sea. The shrimp risotto was superb, cooked 🍳 to al dente perfection. Could it get any better? Yes it could, the frito misto was fresh, delicate and seasoned precisely to make the best of the local catch. Friendly staff and good atmosphere 👌

Very disappointing! Prices higher than the norm and the first course of tonnarelli with seafood does not conform to the original recipe, because the preparation of the sauce was made with tomato and without mantis shrimp and prawns. Furthermore, the fish that was served to us as a second course was not the one shown, very disappointing. Friendly but uncoordinated staff. Very beautiful location because in front of the sea Not recommended.

My family and I had the best dinner in Anzio here! It is easy to make a reservation online. I am English speaking, so we were given English menus. Appetizers: ***HIGHLY recommend the "cooked appetizers" dish!!! *** It is comprised of 10 different small dishes featuring different seafood! Each one has unique flavors and is delicious. Primi: We got the 1) paccheri with fish and 2) risotto with creamed shrimp. The paccheri dish is a tomato/red sauce, olive oil, and bits of fish. It was very delicious. The risotto I ordered is indeed creamy; it comes with only one jumbo shrimp, which does not have much meat in it/ not much other ingredients other than the rice and cream, so I would order a secondi to go with it. Secondi: We ordered the Mixed Grill (secondi) which comes with different seafood dishes that are also very well seasoned. The fries and green salad were also excellent dishes. The salad in particular was a great palate cleanser with the risotto and pasta. This restaurant has really pretty southern facing views of the ocean and a bit of the sunset before it disappears behind buildings in Anzio, which makes for a great dining experience.

(Translated by Google) Our visit to Pizzeria El Sangria was unfortunately very chaotic. The place was overcrowded, and the service proved inadequate to handle the number of customers. We were at two separate tables, for a total of 14 people. After being seated, we waited over 25 minutes before anyone came to take our order. The situation worsened significantly when we had to wait an hour and 35 minutes for our pizzas and a few other orders. Although the pizza wasn't bad (perhaps also due to the long wait, which increased our appetites), the overall experience was profoundly negative. They should stop trying to serve more people than they can actually handle. The maximum number of seats is determined by the capacity of the kitchen/oven, not the size of the room. While the food quality wasn't terrible, the service and wait times make this place unsuitable. (Original) La nostra visita alla Pizzeria El Sangria è stata purtroppo molto caotica. Everything was good Before come here I was really looking for a good place and read a lot of comments about bad excess and stairs and I should say it’s not bad how it’s was described, the issue just sea is down and city and road like in a top A I add a picture to let people see how it’s looks like

Ok beach équipement but the food is really bad and you have to pay extra to shower. I don’t recommend it
Michel M — Google review
Our family was vacationing in Rome at the height of the summer heat wave so we decided to get to the beach. We found this place and easily booked umbrellas and chairs online for about $25/person. The chairs were very nice with an overhead shade option. The umbrellas were equipped with hangers so bags stayed out of the sand. (Sand was very hot so bring flip flops). They sell cold drinks, bar drinks and grab and go food as well as restaurant food. There’s no changing room so you have to change in a phone booth sized toilet so that was a bit tricky but not impossible. The restaurant served very good food including the spaghetti vongole which others mentioned on Google reviews. We also had a nice seared tuna steak. The beach was clean and smooth sand and they took credit cards except for the .20 euro shower to use to get sand and sea off. That was not private, just something to wear your bathing suit in. The family who owns this was very helpful to us and tried to help us understand how things worked and had one person who spoke English pretty well with us. The feeling of a place run by a family, for families was strong.

Clean, not so crowded beach with white sand and clean water. Nice and attentive staff at the seaside cafe. Sand heats up quickly, so slippers are suggested. Presence of underwater dunes make the beach child and non-swimmer friendly, as the water doesn’t go deeper quick. Likewise, beach is watched by a hired lifeguard. Sunbeds and an umbrella for 2 cost us 25 euros total. A shower is provided for 20 cents per person. Changing room is available and free of charge. Overall a very pleasant beach experience.

The place is just beautiful 🤩 lovely private beach and the restaurant with sea food is great! We enjoyed every moment here and will definitely come back here. FYI, during our stay in June there were strong waves, but the water was warm enough.

We had a lovely time at this Lido. The staff was so friendly and were very patient with my attempts to speak Italian 😊. The sand was soft the water was nice (a little rough after the rain) the facility was very clean and the food was fantastic! They have fun activities for kids and I believe you can rent floats and small pools for the kids to play with. We will definitely be going back!

Amazing view! honestly the best part of this Guesthaus is the location. So much joy to see the sunset every evening and to start the day with warm up by the sea! Location is also nice: beach, supermarket and farmacy are all very near. Rooms are nice and clean as well.

(Translated by Google) Excellent location, in the morning you can see the sunrise from one side right from the terrace, and in the evening the sunset from the other side. It was not possible to go down to the beach directly from the apartment, you had to go around the street. Clean, cozy, but there is no place to cook something, at least one common for all the apartments. Nearby there is a wonderful seafood store (open from 8.00 until lunch and then from 16.00) and an ice cream cafe.

CWGC Anzio War Cemetery is a poignant and reflective site that commemorates the bravery of American soldiers who served during World War II. The well-designed cemetery, set amidst lush green surroundings, offers visitors a chance to learn about the courage of these soldiers. Anzio itself is a charming city along the Tyrrhenian Sea, known for its beauty and diverse attractions including beaches, archaeological sites, and cultural events.
Great stop gives all of us that visits to pay respect to our greatest generation and those that have payed with the ultimate sacrifice. Also a good museum

Very moving presentation for our war heroes who paid the ultimate price in the Anzio Beachhead offensive. I was very proud to be an American after visiting this well thought out museum/cemetery. Listen to the stories and take your time. If available, take a golf cart with the docent and learn about the process that the US took to honor our service men and women. Guarantee you will be moved to tears!

Something to note if planning a visit... the photos in the reviews made by Robert and Renee are not of this Cemetery but rather appear to be from the Sicily-Rome American Cemetery located nearby. Anzio War Cemetery is a British Cemetery and contains 1,056 Commonwealth burials from the Second World War.

My grand father Sgt Arthur George CARROLL of the 188 co. Royal Pioneer Corp. DOD 26/05/1944 is buried here. I had an amazing visit that I arranged in advance. I met the gardener here and had an Internment ceremony where his wife, my grandmother, were finally together again. I placed my grandmother’s ashes in the opened grave and then it was immaculately restored to its previous perfection by the gardener gentleman. The whole area is pristine and a visit I made was arranged and carried out with a professional and understanding manner. Thank You.

My grandfather Edward A Farrington was killed in combat at Anzio March 21st, 1944. He was not buried here, however I wanted to visit this place to honor him, and those to fought, fell or survived this place during WWII. The cemetery grounds are impeccable, and beautifully kept. To Mr. Lancaster who posted the other review, I took and posted a photo of the headstone of your father. God bless!

We were there in 2016 on pilgrimage to visit the basilica of Our Lady of Graces where St. Maria Goretti's relics are. It is only a few minutes away in Nettuno. We stopped at the military cemetary to honor the fallen American soldiers. It is a beautifully kept memorial cemetary well worth visiting. I will always remember those who gave their lives and the history of this place. God bless them and their families!

The Beach Head War Cemetery is a meticulously cared for burial ground that evokes admiration. As a Canadian, it was an esteemed privilege to stroll through this hallowed site. The Italian community exhibits remarkable dedication in preserving the final resting place of Commonwealth soldiers. Gratitude is expressed for their commitment to perpetuating the memories of these brave individuals who made the ultimate sacrifice.
This cemetery always amazes me when I visit my Uncle's grave. It is really immaculate and always so tidy. The grass is always cut to perfection. On this day of my visit I noticed that the graves need there regular occasional clean. In the many years I have visited I have never found a fault with this place, and find it a wonderfully peaceful location for all those brave military men that lost their lives. Beach Head War Cemetery contains 2,316 Commonwealth burials of the Second World War, 295 of them unidentified.
Pamela H — Google review
Beautiful location exceptionally well managed by the CWGC!! This is the Commonwealth cemetery in Anzio, the American one is just a few kilometers away in Nettuno. Anzio is a coastal town 70 kilometres south of Rome. To reach Anzio take the Route No.148 Superstrada Motorway, which runs between Rome and Latina. Turn off the Superstrada at the No.207, following the signs towards Anzio. The route is well signposted from the Superstrada. The Cemetery lies 5 kilometres north of Anzio town on the No.207 and Commission signs are visible 150 metres from the cemetery. There is a small parking area at the main entrance. Beach Head War Cemetery should not be confused with Anzio War Cemetery which lies just off the No.207, 1 kilometre north of Anzio just close to the communal cemetery of Anzio. Cemetery address: Via Nettunense km 34 - 00040 Anzio (RM) Lazio. GPS Co-ordinates: Latitude: 41.482355, Longitude: 12.625456. On 3 September 1943 the Allies invaded the Italian mainland, the invasion coinciding with an armistice made with the Italians who then re-entered the war on the Allied side. Progress through southern Italy was rapid despite stiff resistance, but by the end of October, the Allies were facing the German winter defensive position known as the Gustav Line, which stretched from the river Garigliano in the west to the Sangro in the east. Initial attempts to breach the western end of the line were unsuccessful. Operations in January 1944 landed troops behind the German lines at Anzio, but defences were well organised, and a breakthrough was not actually achieved until May. The site of the cemetery originally lay close to a casualty clearing station. Burials were made direct from the battlefield after the landings at Anzio and later, after the Army had moved forward, many graves were brought in from the surrounding country. Beach Head War Cemetery contains 2,316 Commonwealth burials of the Second World War, 295 of them unidentified. There is also one First World War burial which was brought into the cemetery from Chieti Communal Cemetery near Rome. The cemetery was designed by Louis de Soissons.

The cemetery is incorrectly placed on Googlemaps. This location is actually the British Cemetery. The American Cemetery (much larger and can be seen on satellite view) is located south-east of this location and a few hundred meters north of the Nettuno train station.

Busy pub with wide range of drinks, good atmosphere and range of sports shown on the television. Food was not the best compared to other local restaurants but it does the job. Staff were not the most friendly and acted like they didn’t want you to be there… maybe because we don’t speak Italian!

Drinks, aperitifs and cocktails available in the evening at the Sole Café. Plenty of parking places just outside on the main street.

We waited 50 minutes for our dishes, we were seated at a dirty table that was also wobbly in the opposite corner of the restaurant from everyone else. We liked the dishes, but the price did not meet expectations even by 30% .

We had a reservation for the restaurant at 7pm. Upon arrival, the restaurant was still closed. It opened at 9.30pm. In the meantime, we could have a seat at the Ritual. Service people do not speak English. Tries to imitate an Ibiza lounge bar, but is missing the point on so many levels. Especially local youth was annoying. Pretentious atmosphere with arrogant service people. Nonetheless, this place has potential if they would actually differentiate between the people they want to attract versus what their clientele is now.

Raw fish was good quality, not the best taste but acceptable. Unfortunately we got the tagliatelle overcooked but they removed them from the bill, ravioli were perfect, tasty. They recommended a main course of squid with mortadella, but nothing special, I had much better. Wine list was rich but they didn’t have all the bottles. Attentive staff, location on the harbor but there are many like that. 7/10

The food was not so delicious. We ordered fish of the day with pistachios, 3 oysters and shrimp balls. Shrimp balls were ok. The bill for all of that was more than 100€. As for me - overpriced and not worth it. The most unpleasant thing was the added price for chef’s complement (fish balls) and for the bread. We didn’t order these two things but they brought them to us as a “complement”. I didn’t expect to see these positions in the bill and asked for explanation… the end of the story is that we unfortunately paid the full bill. I don’t know what is wrong with people there and ultimately do not recommend the restaurant.

The Museo Civico Archeologico Anzio is a significant historical museum in the region, providing a wealth of information despite its small size. It houses numerous artifacts and uniforms that transport visitors back in time. Situated near the Anzio train station, this wonderful museum is also known as the Museo dello Sbarco di Anzio and shares a building with the beachhead museum.
This museum is very well organised and holds a great display of Roman era artefacts also dating to the republican period. Villa Spigarelli

Housing complex
Villa Spigarelli, constructed in the early 20th century atop the ruins of a Roman villa, retains remnants of its ancient past within its modern architecture. While it is privately managed and not easily accessible to the public, the structure itself reflects a blend of old and new. Despite limited visitation opportunities, this historic site offers a glimpse into its rich heritage.

(Translated by Google) Surreal experience, in April I booked a visit (with priority not respected) with the first day available in October. A few days before the visit, the calls started from the facility where my visit was postponed because either the machine wasn't working or the doctor wasn't there, almost a dozen times over the course of a week (including today) . There were so many problems that the prescription was no longer even valid to make the payment for the visit. I waited a long time to make an important visit for nothing. I will definitely not be booking any more visits here.

(Translated by Google) Second time I turn to this facility (for a question of work convenience) to carry out the monthly tests scheduled during pregnancy, the guy at the entrance to the facility is always very kind and friendly, the ladies at the CUP on the other hand seem like they were forced to do this job, they make you lose the will to live just by looking at them, but they are the least of it, the problem is the nurses who welcomed me today for the tests, TERRIBLE and RUDE, I had the test tube but it was empty (first time it happens to me during pregnancy to forget) so I simply asked for the courtesy of being able to use a bathroom so I could give it to them, not that I had any expectation, it was just a request in a polite manner, and the response that followed in a manner that was not rude but downright rude from the adorable nurse with black, curly hair and glasses was "it's not my problem and I don't care, you have to bring them from home, the bathroom is not for patients" and then I was told by both of them to come back with the test tube because they wouldn't have done the same to me blood test without (not that I expected it of course) and to make the most of the bathroom in the facility opposite since that was also accessible to patients. The problem is not that they sent me away, the problem is the approach that is completely wrong, since there was no need to answer me in such a rude way and above all unmotivated given the way I behaved, it would have been enough to simply tell me in a polite manner to use the bathroom in the facility opposite without treating me like a rag. Fortunately, after having used the services of the facility opposite I returned and the blood test was performed by another nurse, who unlike the first ones was very kind. Terrible experience, always remember that no one forces you to do this type of work and that in theory it should be chosen for vocation and not for mere economic reasons, so go on a spiritual retreat in Tibet if working with the public weighs on you or change jobs.

I went back two weeks ago for a withdrawal, forget about someone answering the phone, you have to go in person or possibly exist, follow the guidelines online which work quite well. "Paradiso sul Mare" is a stunning Liberty style building located on the Zanardelli seafront in Anzio, designed by architect Cesare Bazzani. Despite its current state of abandonment and neglect by municipal and state institutions, it holds great potential. The building offers magnificent views from its large windows and terrace, making it suitable for various purposes such as a restaurant, conference center, or museum.
A beauty and, as the other reviewers said, a real pity that such an imposing historical ornate building from the beginning of the last century is left to rot! I could imagine it being used for so many different purposes and events. In my opinion, one of the best buildings of the town.

Located facing the sea, it could be enhanced in a thousand ways as a driving force for the local socio-economic fabric. Built in Art Nouveau style in the 1920s, owned by the mayor of the time, it was a center of attraction for the bourgeoisie of the time, a restaurant, ballroom, conferences, casino. We paid 28€ euro for 2 sun beds and an umbrella during a week day in the weekends its even more. The sea is murky and turbulent, feels dirty, there's a lot of traffic from the marina next door. The sand look well maintained and looked after, as you go into the sea is very well leveld up so it take you a long walk to get all the way to a decent depth. The food, drinks and sweets are all overpriced. Unfortunately going to toilet will be a luxury costing you 0,20€, washing your feet 0.20€ a cold shower 0.20€, a hit shower 1€ when most places offer these services as basic included into the price of entrance. Overall overpriced for what ot provides seek something further down.

They even provided a menu in English with allergy references. Thank you for such a great experience!

Japanese restaurant
If you're in Anzio, a charming seaside town near Rome, you absolutely must check out GenkaiAnzio! This delightful restaurant offers an impressive "all-you-can-eat" sushi option that is perfect for those looking to indulge. You can also opt for a la carte if you're not too hungry. The ordering system via tablet may take some getting used to since it only displays prices for items outside the all-inclusive menu. However, the quality of food makes it worth any minor inconveniences.
Absolutely do consider this place! Excellent food quality, the "all you can eat" option is really good (but you can also select a la carte if you are less hungry). If you select "all you can eat" the tablet will only show prices for those things which are not included

Nice places but... Food came out very late. First meet than wait 20 minutes for the rice. And drinks came after food. It seems that something just doesn't work here.

Such a lovely place to eat sushi, the staff is friendly and polite. The ingredients are fresh and everything feels clean and delicious.

This restaurant Is located near the train station of Anzio,a famous seaside Town near Rome. It's a good solution for a Quick lunch or dinner , with the all-you-can eat menu. I raccomend to order the salmon/ tuna pokè, wich Is the healthiest choice you can have.

Excelent food, but not easy to order when prices and info about the food do not show on the IPad you have to use for ordering. Best looking dessert ever!

We really loved it here! The food was of high quality and the waiters were so nice to us. Could tell the fish was sushi-grade and fresh. The only thing I felt wasn’t as fresh was the shrimp.

Top quality sushi and great service. Ask to sit in one of the Japanese style booths in the back.

The food is very good. We go to the same area every year including this restaurant. But watch out non-Italians as they do prey on tourists. Order prawn tempura and they seem to forget this dish( 4 years in a row). Many examples like this, but we know this now and account for this. Tip...order extra!

We came an hour before closing, there were 5 of us, there were no free seats - they brought us a table, served us quickly, took an order of 5 pizzas and drinks - after 20 minutes we were already enjoying the food. Pizzas are divine, we will come back again! The bill was 62 € - a bottle of wine, 2 beers, fanta, 5 pizzas ❤️ (Original) Seafood restaurant
Romolo al Porto is a seafood restaurant located near the aliscafo for Ponza, boasting a wide selection of cold and cooked antipasti, seafood pasta and fried fish platters. The menu is complemented by an extensive wine list. Despite being slightly expensive, it is considered one of the best fish restaurants in the world with exceptional crudi and cooked and fried antipasti.
This restaurant has an amazing variety of seafood dishes—so many options it was hard to choose! I ended up picking something completely at random, and honestly, it turned out to be fantastic. Fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection.

Unbelievable restaurant for who loves fish. You don't order anything, the chef suggests the plates of the freshest fish of the day. We had no less than 14 dishes of raw fish, prepared in the most incredible yet refined fashion, in individual mouth bite portions . Definitely the highlight of our trip in Italy. This restaurant has turned our holiday into an unforgettable experience! ... and we haven't received the cooked versions of the main course yet!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An unforgettable seafood experience! Had an incredible lunch at Romolo al Porto in Anzio, hands down the best seafood I’ve ever had! Everything was so fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of authentic flavor. From the starters to the main dishes, every bite tasted like the sea in the best possible way. The chefs and staff were absolutely amazing warm, attentive, and clearly passionate about what they do. And the owner… just wow so welcoming and genuinely proud of the restaurant. You can feel the love and care that goes into every detail. If you love seafood, this place is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back 10/10 experience! 🐟🍷🦑🦞

The menu showcased Italian tradition with modern creativity: beautifully plated dishes, balanced flavors, and outstanding execution. The wine pairings from the sommelier elevated each course, and the dessert was a stunning finale. The staff was attentive and professional, making the entire evening feel effortless, while the chef’s passion and precision were evident in every dish. Even the owner took the time to greet guests, adding a personal and welcoming touch. Every detail—from presentation to pacing—reflected true culinary artistry.

The dishes were very tasteful with fresh ingredients and amazing platings!the chef and the staff are very friendly and particularly interested in your own opinion about what they provide. 10 out of 10.

Good location, food is average but bit pricey. I don't know If it was because of a very hot day, but the fish were not really fresh. we let them choose the food for us. They made degustation couses. The service was very very quick. I could see everybody were working so hard with very serious face.
Alini — Google review
It wasn’t a meal but an experience! The raw and cooked selection of fish starters were the best we ever tried. Definitely a place to come back to ❤️
