Ancient Ruins
Villa Di Tiberio, located just outside of Sperlonga, is an ancient villa that once served as the summer residence of the Roman Emperor Tiberius. The site now lies in ruins but still offers a glimpse into its former grandeur through the remains of its gardens and architecture. Adjacent to the villa entrance is Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Sperlonga, where visitors can view impressive statues and artifacts found at the site.
Very particular place! We visited first villa and then the museum. At the entrance they give you the prospect so you can understand how villa was used back in time. In the museum there is also short movie (in Italian) about how they discovered villa. Highly recommend to visit if you are passing by Sperlonga. There is a parking lot before the entrance to the museum, but it is not well marked.
Isidora M — Google review
Museum and ruines of one of the summer villa's of emperor Tibirius who loved having parties and dinners in sea caves. This cave is well preserved. Once having beautiful stateus in de the cave, these are now located in the near museum and are partially reconstructed to show the splendor and dimensions. You will have to walk a bit. The price is around 7 euro's, parking is free at the other site of the road. A few kilometers away from Sperlonga, so a combined visit is easy to do.
Luppo E — Google review
As a tourist guide if Italy, I would love to give 5 stars to all Historical places and museums, but maybe it helps for some improvements. The museum and archaeological area is a must to do in that area for all art and history lovers tourists. It's a small but precious jewel of Roman art and history. The museum is nice, perfectly designed and Reconstructions of statues help visitors to understand better. The panel inside of museums are good. Now I tell why I give 4 stars! The open air area and ruins are completely without observations and not any staffs there to help or even look for any vandalism act. The panels of information are so old and some are not possible to read at all. The way of visit is not clear. I would like to thanks museum staffs, they are so helpful and kind. Highly appreciated
Iman T — Google review
Very interesting site! The museum is simple but the sculptures and reconstructions ate very impressive. I wish there had been more explanations about the villa. It takes about 1 hour to go around the site and museum.
Marie-Laurence G — Google review
This is a must see when in Gaeta or Sperlonga. Indoor museum with attached architectural park. Reasonable admission price. Clean bathrooms.
Reverend S — Google review
A must-see in this area! The villa grounds are very well maintained and the Grotto looks absolutely fabulous. The museum offers interesting explanations about the historical importance of the area, as well as majestic archeological findings. Convenient free parking right across the street. Attention: The museum only accepts cash payments!
J. J — Google review
The villa was very cool to see and I really enjoyed the museum
Tehya L — Google review
Approaching this from the beach side only to be greeted by a fence and then followed by the realization that you have to walk up to the museum and pay 7€ to get in, I am not going to lie, at first, I was a bit hesitant about spending that money. But it is totally worth it! The museum is actually really interesting and inviting, they have some really cool stuff on display - and once you are done, you get to go outside and see the landmarks and the cave, get to walk around and on a good day get a great photo opp from inside the cave, with the water reflecting the city on the hill in the background. My recommendation, however, is to go when it is not as busy - we went on a fairly overcast day off season, but I'm pretty sure that on a nice sunny day, when Sperlonga is filled with tourists, that this place can be quite crowded. In case you do forget to bring refreshments, there is a small vending machine near the entrance that sells water for 0.60€ a bottle, but good luck getting your change - just bring your own supplies and you will be golden.

Grotta di Tiberio

4.7
(226)
Grotta Di Sperlonga is a must-visit destination with its beautiful beaches and crystal-clear waters. The Angolo Beach, located on the eastern side of the promontory, is a stunning place to explore. The grotto is part of the Museo Archeologico Nazionale Grotta di Tiberio and can be accessed through the museum entrance.
We loved our experience here!! This is right in front of the beach in order to go to the cave, you have to go through the museum which is 7 euros. This is right by the main road. You can find parking across the street or by the beach which is 10 euros. Once you go to the main road, you will find the open gate that will be the entrance to the museum. The museum had AC which was nice on a hot summer day. Then, when you exit the museum you will find a path that will take you to the archaeological ruins. You cannot go into the water just keep that mind. Bring comfortable shoes because the path does get a bit rocky. You cannot enter the cave through the beach because it is blocked off nor can you go to the beach from the cave as you have to go around. Overall, we liked our experience here!
Liliana V — Google review
Have been here twice and I can’t tell you how special it is, not thronged like some places you might go to in Rome, the history of the grotto is exceptional and the presentation of the statues is done so well. It’s so amazing how we are allowed wander freely around this incredible place and take it all in. The staff here are so kind to and it’s a very reasonable entry fee. Highly recommended you going here if you can. Thank you!
Gina C — Google review
hard to find a parking spot off the road, steps down lead to the grotta.
Joe G — Google review
Parking at the Tiberio club so someone can watch the car . Only 5 €. What a wonderful landscape. Beach. And museum.
Veronique L — Google review
The museum is small but interesting, with sculptures from the Grotto depicting various episodes from the travel of Ulysses. The remains of Tiberius' villa and the grotto are nice enough. Since the visit is relatively short, you could extend it by taking the path that loops over the hill (only 30 min), passing the 'Big Bench' - entrance a short walk further on just before the tunnel (robust shoes recommended).
Cathal W — Google review
Mindblowing! This was actually one of my favorite museums we did while in Italy - I think because I wasn’t expecting it to be so amazing! The statues & their recreations were incredible, and the grotto is stunning.

Beautiful scenery and clear water. The owners were extremely attentive and even helped us when we had troubles finding a bus back to the train station! Definitely one of the nicest beach clubs on that stretch of beach!

It's the best place for having a good rest! One of the most beautiful beach in Italy is Chimero Lido Sperlonga! I stayed there with my son, very friendly personal, beautiful and clean beach, wonderful and warm sea, delicious foods, a comfortable special zone with grass, sunbeds and umbrellas of the highest quality, a large parking in the shade of trees! Amazing landscape around, a paradise for eyes and soul! We'll back here for sure!

This beach is usually fully booked, so I’d recommend you to make your reservations in advance, preferably 4-5 before or earlier. Don’t show up and ask for availability. My friends and I spend last Sunday at this beach and we really enjoyed it. They are super organised and offer everything that makes your staff comfortable. Starting from available parking spots, restaurant with a variety of tasty and fresh food, and umbrellas. I highly recommend it. It is the perfect spot for families, couples, and group of friends.

Coming here with car is the only way, and parking is not organized, so you can find cars everywhere on the road. Steep road leads to the beach, where you can place your towel freely. There are bars along the beach. The waves are enormous so put your stuff away from the water to keep them dry! There is no shade.

(Translated by Google) A place where you can definitely feel good. Simple. The cost of renting an umbrella and sunbeds is a bit excessive, but on the other hand you are allowed to bring food and drinks to consume on the beach. The hospitality is at the bare minimum: you can tell that it is a young management. The cost of the showers is definitely exaggerated: 1 euro for a hot shower, 0.50 euro for a cold one, which lasts very little. Personally I was unable to get completely wet because the shower had already closed. At the moment there is no complete catering service available and, for a coffee, you have to go to the lido right next door. The distance between the two is so minimal that they seem like a single establishment. The place is pleasant and private even if the distance between the umbrellas is really minimal and if you use 3 sunbeds you are almost under the umbrella next to you. The sea is ideal for children and, even if you are in the third row, you have a good view of the sea. The beach is not very big, which helps to keep the children under control, who certainly had more fun than us. In conclusion, it was a pleasant experience, but one that I wouldn't repeat given the distance from my house: almost 2 hours of travel. (Original) Un posto dove si sta sicuramente bene. Semplice.

(Translated by Google) Walking along the beach, we noticed this establishment, intrigued by a sign advertising pinsa, supplì, and French fries (a decidedly original offering for a seaside establishment). Intrigued, we decided to stop and try it. The owner was immediately very kind and smiling. The pinsa was truly delicious, well-filled and fragrant. The prices are average, and eating with a sea view made it even more enjoyable. Definitely worth a try!

The food is also special: pinza (good and easy to digest), suppli, and French fries, as well as Farro and Caprese with excellent buffalo mozzarella. The sea is absolutely stunning, and the sunset is exceptional. Umbrellas and loungers are spaced just right, always clean, and you can enjoy the peace and quiet. Hot and cold showers and a changing room are available. Prices are slightly above average, but are partly justified by the quality of the products and services. Public parking is available for a fee. Lido Rocco is a well-maintained secluded shore with ample sun protection in the form of spacious shady parasols. It boasts clean facilities, including refreshing freshwater showers and a convivial beachside bar. While the quality of drinks, particularly the Campari spritz, may vary from day to day, there are times when they are excellent. The food options are simple but come at slightly higher prices that align with the expected level of service at this private beach.
Clean private beach with large shady sun umbrellas , fresh water showers and friendly bar .. the drinks can be hit or miss, especially the spritz Campari , some days good other days like water.. food is basic and prices are high but what one would expect for friendly service on a private beach. The food here was incredible! i went with my mom and we were sat a table on the stairs and totally away from the beautiful garden which honestly i think they might better off just getting rid of. We shouldn’t have taken the table in the first place but we didn’t have a reservation so it was our fault for sure! i did find that our seating was maybe forgotten about a little bit? so we waited a long time even to just order. The food was delicious and i highly, highly recommend eating here but definitely try to make a reservation!!

We made a reservation for a group of 7 people, looking forward to a nice evening together. When we arrived, we were denied entry solely because some of us were wearing bathing suits. That said, everyone was wearing button-up shirts and appeared presentable. There was no mention of a strict dress code when we booked, and we were treated with little courtesy or understanding despite our efforts to be respectful in appearance. For a restaurant near the beach, this kind of rude attitude felt unreasonable and unwelcoming. We were genuinely disappointed with how we were handled and will not be coming back. Incredibly overrated and mid grade food. Terrible service. I have been to many places in Sperlonga and after finding this on a recommended list we attempted to make a reservation. The staff was slow, unprofessional and incredibly unfriendly. The pasta was bland and flavorless. They try to be overly creative with their food menu and it ends up tasting worse than just a basic meal. Overpriced food. Only good thing was the olive oil. You would save money and your happiness by eating just about anywhere else. Weird vibe. So Mid.

Great recommendation. The food was so well presented and cooked to perfection. i had the fish balls starter with the seasonal cooked vegetables . My partner had the best ever - spaghetti ( cooked to absolute perfection) with pumpkin flowers and anchovies ( taste explosion). Their beautiful olive bread 😍. Excellent prosecco . We ate light as had a late lunch but next time we will order more as their fish selection looked amazing. Beautiful part of the old town of Sperlonga.

A wonderful place, very elegant and romantic. The quality of their dishes is undeniable. The courtesy of the staff is exceptional. The restaurant impresses with its cozy atmosphere, the evening was accompanied by playing the violin. I recommend this place to those who want to spend a pleasant evening in a relaxed atmosphere.

Amazing atmosphere, delicious food, great service. Shared 3 plates, and all 3 were perfect After spending 8 days in Italy, and having some of the best meals I've ever had in my life, this restaurant stands out as the best I've been to. In a pedestrian area, it can take a bit to find, but it is so worth it.

Day 2

Southeast side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the southeast side side of town. Start the day off with Il Fortino, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Bazzano Beach. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

Beautiful corner of paradise. Crystal clear waters and sun-beds and parasols literally brushed by the sea. Clean and peaceful. Free WiFi also! And a cafe/restaurant - I only had a cappuccino but it was very good. If I had to suggest and improvement, I’d make the showers free - €1 for a very, very short warm shower (bring coins btw) when a daily pass is around €50 seemed a little ridiculous. Otherwise perfect.

Absolutely lovely beach town about 2 hours away from Rome, Italy. Very quiet. The beaches were the most pristine I've seen in a very long time. The food and the drinks were great in the area. If you have seen everything in Rome that there is to see, then definitely visit this place for a nice day outing on the beach.

Bazzano Beach is a stylish beachfront gastrobar offering classic fish dishes, pasta, and light snacks. It's highly recommended for its exquisite food, impeccable service, and perfect ambiance. While some may consider it very hip and cool, others may not find it the absolute best but still worth visiting. The place offers a fantastic view to enjoy along with spectacular food and an amazing crew.

Nice beach club - comfy sun beds in vey clean beach. Food in restaurant is very good. I think it was best mussels I have ever had.

Bazzano’s location is simply unmatched—it truly couldn’t be better. The restaurant sits right on the finest sand of the most beautiful beach. Bazzano reminds me of a perfectly run ship at sea. The staff are attentive, knowledgeable, and kind. It’s no secret there are true culinary masterminds at work here. I’ve enjoyed some of the best dishes of my life at Bazzano, making it not only my favorite restaurant in Sperlonga, but in all of Italy. Every plate bursts with freshness and flavor, each ingredient chosen to perfectly complement the next. Dining here is a complete sensory experience. From the moment you arrive, you are embraced by the captivating aromas drifting from the kitchen. Whether you’re sharing an intimate dinner for two or breaking bread with the whole family, Bazzano is the place to be. The wine, the gentle jazz, the rhythmic crash of the waves, and the moonlight dancing on the water—simply breathtaking.

Very good food on the beach. 85€ 3 people for lunch: pasta, caprese, water, a beer and 1 dessert. Maybe the price is a little high but you are on the beach and the quality is good. The Lido in front asks you 10€ per hamaca and umbrella.

Definitely THE place to be. Very hip(ster), very cool. But the best? Maybe not. Still worth going though.

Beach and sea is amazing. Unfortunately we got period with few Jelly fish and waves so was a bit annoying. Prices of the beds with umbrella are too high.

Nestled in a stunning coastal location, Ristorante Torre Capovento offers an informal yet charming dining experience that is hard to resist. With its inviting terrace boasting breathtaking sea views and a private beach area, it’s the perfect spot for those looking to unwind. The restaurant is housed within a historic 16th-century tower, originally built as part of a defensive system by Don Pietro di Toledo. This unique structure features a circular base and crenellated design, accessible via a quaint staircase.
Amazing spot! Highly recommend it!

Fantastic views and place. The resort needs some serious updating as it feels like it's a place out of the 70s...rooms are tiny and the bathroom smell like damp. 2 stars for the surrounding as its the only reason we would be back

(Translated by Google) A good restaurant in a great location overlooking the beach and the sea, where you can enjoy the view of Sperlonga. I visited in the evening and it's quite romantic and quiet for its clientele. We dined while listening to the waves and background music. We chose several courses for the menu, and I must say the quality and preparation were good. For appetizers, we really enjoyed the fresh octopus salad and the caprese salad. I had requested the tartare included on the menu, but both salmon and tuna were missing. I opted for the red shrimp one, but I wasn't too keen on the quality of the shrimp and the plating. It was served with a side salad, which I personally don't like because it enhances the flavor of the shrimp. For first courses, we enjoyed both the seafood risotto and the linguine, both with Piennolo tomatoes and the white pasta with mussels, which were delicious. The wine list isn't very extensive but has a limited selection. For dessert, an excellent lemon delicacy from a Formia pastry shop. Prices are average. The building is not very modern in some respects. It could be more attractive with a little renovation, especially with the floors, furnishings, and lighting, which are a bit dated. Having recently celebrated 30 years in business, the location is stunning. I hope the owners invest in improving it and making their guests' stay more enjoyable.

(Translated by Google) A quiet little place, definitely in a truly fabulous location. My husband and I stayed just one night to escape the chaos of Rome, and I have to say we had a great time. Of course, the hotel needs a complete renovation (both the rooms and the restaurant, but also the staff, who aren't exactly friendly and helpful—with the exception of the lifeguard). It lacks many amenities, even the most basic ones (such as a cold shower, in-room telephone, in-room showers that don't flood the bathroom, more spacious rooms... and better parking). In the evening, we had dinner at the restaurant, and I have to say, from a culinary standpoint, there was nothing to say (the only negative was the spaghetti with clams, which arrived loose and inedible). The price was definitely too high for what we ate. Sure, the portions were generous, but the prices were still very high. Breakfast the next day was really minimal, simple, and B&B-like. That left us a bit disappointed.

(Translated by Google) An unforgettable experience... but only because we're still recovering! If you're looking for an adventurous stay, this property is for you. Starting from the entrance: finding the way was a treasure hunt, with the adrenaline rush of crossing a dangerous section of the Via Flacca—perfect if you want to add a touch of risk to your vacation. Once we arrived, the "included parking" concept proved to be a philosophical one: yes, it's included... if you find a spot, otherwise, good luck and wander around as much as you like. The room? A little gem of humidity and mold, so intense it permeated even our dreams. The sheets were so wet we wondered if they'd confused the room with a jacuzzi. The bathroom was a blast from the past, but not the romantic kind: a nonexistent shower, rusty fixtures, and a showerhead that watered directly into the toilet. An innovation. Cleanliness? Yes, when we returned from the beach, the room had been made up (although they forgot to change our towels, a service that should have been included). It's a shame the person in charge forgot to close the door. A small detail! Luckily, nothing was stolen... probably the mold was acting as a guard. Breakfast "included," another masterpiece: cappuccino and coffee in unwashed cups. Questionable quality, quantity... too. The staff? Some were kind, but others were so rude that we felt guilty for having disrupted their day with our presence. The price was definitely too high. Prezzo decisamente troppo alto.

(Translated by Google) If you miss the smell of a cellar and the campsites of the '80s (the really ugly ones), then this is the perfect place for you. As soon as we entered the room, we were greeted by a whiff of mold. The bed? A cold, damp sponge. The bathroom was a comical sketch: the showerhead, strategically placed above the toilet, allows you to wash yourself while reflecting on your life choices. If you're looking for privacy, however, forget it: every sound, every drop, every sigh echoes off the tiles like in a cave. The "included" breakfast was a gourmet experience in reverse. I tasted a cappuccino that made me reevaluate tap water. Parking is technically "included," yes. But there aren't enough spaces for everyone. Every time I went out, I was worried about not finding any space when I returned, which turned evening outings into timed missions. Oh, I forgot: it's not a real parking lot, but a very steep descent that requires more skill than a black ski run. Fun? No. In short, we paid to relax and took home a learning experience about patience, adaptation, and controlled breathing (so as not to inhale too much mold).

In the charming town of Sperlonga, visitors can explore historic sites like the Grotto of Tiberius and the Torre Truglia, a tower with a rich history dating back to 1532. Despite being destroyed multiple times during wars, it was rebuilt and now stands as an iconic landmark. The tower offers a unique view of the coastal scenery and has been recently transferred to the municipality of Sperlonga for various uses including exhibitions and weddings.
Amazing tower and the most beautiful view. I was very super of how accessible it was to get and genuinely beautiful.
Raabe R — Google review
Personally I found nice its unusual shape that has several reasons and fantastic it's location. The tower was built in 1532 but then destroyed 3 times during wars. The current building dates back to eighteenth century. Since July 2023 the property has been transferred from a national agency to the municipality of Sperlonga. They plan to use for temporary exhibition, place for weddings and more. I didn't check if it was open, the parking fee €3 per hour or €20 per day was an invitation for me to dedicate little time to visiting the village and perhaps is the same for other people. I was here at the end of the summer season and you could breathe the air of the end of the season with the presence of few tourists. At the same time, other similar places with friendlier prices were teeming with foreign tourists.

Marina was simply the best. She took the time to help me choose cheeses to bring back home with me and had several meats and cheeses already vacuum sealed for this purpose. Reasonable prices, great bread and AMAZING SANDWICHES. It’s one thing to have good bread/food and another to be truly hospitable. We ended up talking for 20+ minutes and it was a great way to end my trip, with a few treats to return home with. Thank you Marina!

(Translated by Google) A rosetta with cooked ham and buffalo mozzarella at a cost of €7.50 and I would stop here since the sandwich in the end was a simple sandwich. But the even more serious thing is that after asking if they were wrong they replied "everything is normal". The next day I went to the supermarket up the road and got the same thing but with much higher quality ham and mozzarella, and I paid €3.90. If I could have put zero I would have. Obviously nothing to do with the previous management. However, go to the supermarket after the basketball court because it costs much less and is much better.

I've never paid so much for a piece of stuffed white focaccia at a deli! It would have cost me less if I'd ordered a pizza at the table in a pizzeria or had a sandwich at a table anywhere else! And no way could they tell me about the quality, because I didn't order a Pata Negra or a unique ham! Ristorante taverna Ulisse is a stunning eatery situated in a square with a captivating vista of the Mediterranean sea. The cuisine offered is superb, reasonably priced, and provides ample portions for its value. While initially hoping for pizza, it was discovered that they only serve this delectable dish after 1900 hours. However, other mouthwatering options such as the caprese salad to share, tomato basil pasta, and mixed seafood grill were ordered instead.
Beautiful restaurant in a square overlooking the Mediterranean sea. The food was very good, reasonably priced, and you got plenty of food for the price. We initially came for the pizza but they only make pizza after 1900. We ordered a caprese salad to share, tomato basil pasta, and mixed seafood grill. All of the food, and the wine, was great.

An authentic Italian place where you will be surrounded by Italian language and customs. The service is super friendly, it was nice to sit next to the jasmine bush on the side of the restaurant, and the mussels and clams were great! Also loved the grilled vegetables. The catch of the day was slightly overcooked but still good. Prices are unbeatable for what you get!

Trattoria Pizzeria Da Mari is a charming restaurant that offers an exceptional dining experience. The pizza, known for its high-hydration and long leavening process, is simple yet incredibly delicious, showcasing the quality of the ingredients and the chef's expertise. The warm welcome and attentive service create a relaxed atmosphere where everyone feels at home - families, couples, friends, or singles. Guests are greeted like dear friends by Luciano & Francesca who pour love into each dish.
We stopped here as didn’t have any reservations for a dinner and they easily found a table for us. Pizzas were vey good, but the most exceptional was the service - everyone was very helpful with good recommendations and willing to talk, so we decided to come also next day and it was the same good food and extraordinary service and atmosphere. Thank you for making our evenings so special!

Francesca was a fantastic host on an evening we just stopped in for a bite. Pizza and pasta were both delicious and the service was great. I’ve been to many restaurants in tourist towns where the staff is jaded and the food is marginal, but this is NOT one of those. Authentic and warm, I would recommend this for a casual night out.

We couldn't get in anywhere without a booking in sperlonga on a busy night, and the host here was lovely and sorted us out a table very quickly. It is bustling in there with a lovely upbeat atmosphere. The pizzas were delicious, only rating 4 stars because I didn't love the house wine - other than that, a lovely yummy experience.

The worst food we ate during our trip in Italy. I had a pasta carbonara which was truely inedible. My partner had a pasta ragu which was just edible, but had very little taste. The wine was so so. And the price was high. The pizzas of the guests next to us looked a bit better. In all: very disappointing

We were there with our family and the food was horrible. My ragu was just minsed beef and watery tomato sauce with no taste at all. Pasta with mussels were also horrible... Mussels was a smaller than a finger nails and the dish had no taste. 4year old child got the pizza last and waited the pizza over 30minutes. When the pizza arrived it was watery tomato sauce and bit of cheese... Then the red wine was also cut with water and tasteless.. Service fee for absolute no service was over 10€... If you are looking for any kind of value for your money you should avoid this.

Restaurant Il Porticciolo is a charming small eatery located right on the harbor, offering a peaceful and picturesque setting. The terrace provides a lovely view of the quaint harbor, making it an ideal spot for enjoying a meal in the sun. The staff is known for their excellent service, always attentive and friendly. Diners have praised the delicious seafood dishes such as calamari alla Lucia and scialatielli scoglio, as well as the mixed fish grill and swordfish.
Wonderful little restaurant set in a natural environment overlooking the marina. Friendly, casual atmosphere. Went for lunch. Food was great, we had the mussels for starter, the mixed seafood grill and the swordfish as mains. All delicious. The staff were attentive, even the chef comes around to see how you’re doing! Our waiter, Raphaelle, gave us recommendations on the food and the wine. Prices also quite reasonable.

A cute little place below the shade of the trees, in front of the little harbor of Sperlonga . The perfect set up for eating a delicious pasta alle vongole (pasta with clams) some calamari allá lucia (squid with tomatoes, olives and pepper) and a cold glass of white wine. Don’t hesitate and go.

Beautifully positioned small restaurant right on the harbour. We asked for a table in the sun when reserving and they gave us one on the terrace facing the quaint harbour. The service was excellent. The staff always smiling and present, often coming back to ask us if everything was ok or if we needed anything else. The calamari alla Lucia were beautiful and tasty with bruschetta bread to dip in the sauce. The mixed fried fish (calamari, shrimp and anchovies) and mixed grilled fish (calamari, shrimp and white fish) were beautifully cooked. They did arrive on the colder side but they were still tasty and we ate it all. The mixed fried fish dish is very abundant!

The food was good and the portions were big. However when we first came in, we waited for at least 20 mins to sit and any worker cared about us. Then we decided to sit in the another room as the other room was very busy and then finally a waiter arrived and leaded us to a table. But after succeeding to get a table, the workers have become really concerned and asked many times if everything was alright. Briefly, it would have been a good experience if we didnt have this problem at the beginning. It is a good place to eat some seafood anyways.

Beautiful view of the sea but food was small portions and very expensive. Young staff were robotic and not friendly like you would expect especially when you’re spending lots of money. No one asked ‘how was your meal’ and our server didn’t say ‘thank you’ after we paid the bill. Very weird.

Very friendly and informative staff, great cocktails, but the food was a real disappointment. 25 euros for tiny portions and the food sadly both looked poor and was not tasty... If it was 10 - 15 euros max per portion it'd be fine, but not at this high-end price at all. We left nearly 80 euros with some basic drinks and were not satisfied. Shame, gorgeous location!
Marijam D — Google review
the food was so bad i wouldn’t recommend, extremely bland and i got spaghetti with shrimp and they gave me maybe a tablespoon maximum of raw shrimp and bland spaghetti. wouldn’t recommend once again. also exspensive for no reason. we asked for balsamic vinegar about 5 times and no one brought anything out. there was an automatic 4 euro service fee which was NOT deserved. my friends got the blandest pasta they’ve ever had

We were so excited to come back after 2 years as we had a wonderful past experience but unfortunately left disappointed. The place itself is very cutely decorated and the owner is polite but the service and price for quality ruined our experience. The waitstaff is inexperienced and disorganised, and we had to search for and call over a service every single time we needed something. It was as if our table was invisible. We waited about 15/20 minutes to order only to be told 2 items on the menu were not available (this should have been made known when they presented the specials). The mussles were spectacular and came quickly. Fried baccalà good but the involtini had barely any fish with a side of watery broccoletti. Portions were tiny for the price we paid. Dessert was 12 euros each - a delicious crema catalana and a very dry crumbling brownie. Digestivo in tiny tiny glasses, we asked for ice in one, and when it came to the table were told “it’s already cold” and we said we wanted an ice cube with the sambuco and the server said “well we don’t have ice”. Overall it was just disappointing to have spent so much so for little food and such inattentive disorganised service. Will not return.

We just popped in here because many restaurants we wanted to go to were closed on Tuesday. The atmosphere was nice and they have friendly staff. But the food was a little disappointing. Stale bread in a brown paper bag was not good and my gnocchi was not particularly delicious. Pasta with clams was good though.

After pouring a full glass of wine on my dress (I was truly soaked in wine), the meal was presented 5 minutes later, not giving me the time to dry in the ladies room and a full bill was presented. After I politely asked for a discount, they offered a discount of €8, not even the price to dry clean the dress. Food not impressive (cold) and surely not pleasant dining in a wet dress.

We have been here for dinner, didn’t book but luckily found space anyway. As we read in other reviews the prices were a bit higher than average but Sperlonga in general is quite touristic and slightly on the expensive side, so we didn’t mind. The food was totally worth it, would definitely recommend the scialatielli with swordfish and pistachio. One thing I would suggest is that if you want some fried seafood as starter you just get the main portion, so that you will pay €20 but will get a good amount of calamari and about 3 prawns (while the starter portion is just €2 cheaper but will be smaller and with only calamari with courgettes and mint). The reason why I only gave 3 stars (other than the price) is that the service was not great. We were quite disappointed in hearing the waiter go through the specials of the day with the table next to us while nobody mentioned them to us. We also waited quite a long time after asking for the bill. Considering the price we were just expecting a bit more attention from the staff.

We came as a family with two adults a baby and a 5 years old. We had Pasta Vongole, Seafood Risotto, Beens soup, Mixed Vegetables and a mixed salad + water and house red wine. We didn’t expect gourmet, but just a genuine and honest meal at the lovely square - but all the food was below average - but the most significant discovery and disappoint was the level of service. Such a negative attitude from Primary the lady head of staff. Maybe because we were trying to make the baby sleep at the same time, but we were the first guest in a completely empty restaurant apart from one couple. So we were not taking up any space or annoying anyone with our family set up. We ordered and finished up within 50min. We had such a bad experience and wanted to go into dialogue about it - because we didn’t get the level of bad service. But due to language barrier- I feel like I need to do this little write up instead.

We must have chosen the wrong night to visit this restaurant because it can’t always be this poor. The location is amazing so that’s a plus. However, the meal was the worst I’ve eaten in many years regardless of what country I’ve been in. The dishes were expensive, the portions tiny and my wife’s potatoes were burnt to a crisp. To top it all the service was really cold and unfriendly. As I say, maybe we just went on the wrong night

The meat was pasty and tasteless. Spinach as a side was 6€. Tasted watery. Some roasted potato crumbs were partly burnt and tasteless for also 6€ as a side adding to the 20€ meat. 2€ for bread and service was charged even for a 3year old, bread was old. The higher prices don't come with added quality. No recommendation. Wine was good though. Waterbottle only 3€ was a plus.
Karim H — Google review
Little slow service and not very good one. Food ok enough. But it's irritating that all the restaurants in the area, including this one, is serving bread to begin with, mandatory and charge money for something we didn't ask for. And the bread is dry and chewy and needs a big effort to get through. And they don't offer anything with the bread, like oil and salt or salted butter. We asked for some butter to put on the bread - and they came with the worst unsalted butter ever!! Tasted like milk... Nothing to put on a bread. Ordered a starter and a main course. And this restaurant as the rest only put on the table two forks and one knife. What's with that!?? If you use the knife during the starter, they take take it away after the starters, and never offer a new one for the main dish. If you have wine in a cooler, and your glass is empty and they attend the table during serving, they never offer to top the glasses with wine, even when they attending at the table. Small details that cost little to implement as a service. Over all a restaurant experience not to be remembered...
