St Mary's Lighthouse, built in 1898 on a tidal island, is a picturesque attraction offering coastal views and rich history. The lighthouse, painted in white with red cottages nearby, exudes a nostalgic charm and provides breathtaking sea views. It stands as a beacon along the coastline and features nature exhibits, a gift shop, and serves as the finish line for the North Tyneside 10k Road Race.
Such a cool place! Wait for the water to recede and then cross the causeway while checking out the rock pools. Nice lighthouse and some great views from the top. Plenty of seals on show too!
Arron H — Google review
Amazing place to visit. Was very blustery when we visited, but managed to see a few groups of seals resting up out of the water. Visiting the lighthouse is very interesting, and you can climb the steps up to the light itself for an amazing view over the coast. Such a lovely place!
Kevin P — Google review
It took me years to actually figure this out BUT there is a shed on the island, close to the lighthouse, where the RSPB kindly provide binoculars that lets you watch the seals. After years of literally walking past the open door to the shed it was an incredible surprise the first time I went in!!!!! Check the crossing times before you go. For fabulous walks on the cliffs with stunning views of St Mary's Lighthouse try the old Hartley Car Park. There is also a pub (Delaval Arms) which seems popular. Park nearby. Walk towards Tynemouth for gorgeous views from the cliffs. For people with children: at low tide St Mary s island s causeway is a fabulous place for rock pooling. The lovely gentleman who sells ice-cream & coffee always has a stock of clear buckets, spades and nets all reasonably priced.
Sophie T — Google review
Lots of parking (3 quid all day) areas then a walk to the lighthouse. Check tide times as path disappears under the sea! Lighthouse not always open, so check if going specially to climb it. Lots of steps spiraling up (no good if a fear of heights) then shallow steep steps to the top. Great views, little shop, hide to see birds\seals, lots of info and seals😍 Be careful walking on the rocks, hold kids hands, dogs allowed but not in the lighthouse. Path open around the lighthouse to explore the views, fab!
Ilona R — Google review
Really lovely place. Came here for a wedding where the tide comes in and keeps you 'stranded' for a few hours whilst the causeway is covered, it was a wonderful experience! The staff were very kind and helpful, and I've never seen so many seals basking on the rocks! There is also a great little museum.
Tobi M — Google review
Pretty cool experience to climb up the winding staircase and be greeted with a magnificent light at the top, paired with the unbeatable views. Easily worth the £6, if only to help them pay towards the internal repainting that’s in desperate need and will end up costing in the millions.
Marques — Google review
Beautiful place, nice to see the seals relaxing on the rocks and enjoying the sunshine. According to the nature preservation staff the seals only started to arrive in 2014. It was a great day out, got some great photos.
Michael B — Google review
Definitely worth a little walk around. Nice view from the top once you’ve climbed the pretty steep steps! Cool to see some seals chilling out on the surrounding rocks

Spanish City in Whitley Bay is a stunning historic building with a beautiful white dome that stands out against the backdrop of the beach. The interior and exterior are equally impressive, featuring elegant design elements such as statues and towers. This venue has undergone significant refurbishment in recent years, offering various dining options including classic provisions, afternoon tea, and seafood specialties. The establishment also includes a bar and hosts events such as concerts and ballroom dances.
OMG, what a wonderful experience, the food (fish and chips) was out of this world. It was exceptionally good. It's easy to know why they are in the top 5 fish and chips establishment in the country. A definitive must to go to place if anywhere near by.

Absolutely gorgeous building inside... first time I'd been and was blown away!! Fish and chips (large cod) was delicious and fairly priced for the surroundings... staff were extremely tentative and polite... place was spotless Highly recommend 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟👌👌

Beautiful white dome building was stunning from outside and inside it was amazing with the arches and expansive seating area and views. Had the tope ten fish n chips and the platter and some more.. all delicious. Should come back again. Bank Holiday weekend was very popular it seems, as there was a marquee...and lots of singing n dancing. This was in front of the Spanish city and the beach outside. The food was so good that we forgot to take pics...

My wife and I were celebrating our 14th wedding anniversary there today. The whole venue is spotless and even better presented. We had talked about what we expected it to be like as a child I'd play in the Spanish City during my holidays. We ate to a moderate sound, and I would say a great experience in doing so. It was quiet and pleasant. The food was fresh and very tasty. The menu wasn't difficult to navigate. For the venue being as I remembered it to be, I was able to take in the newer version although it's not new to some 10+ years since Whitley Bay's landmark icon has been cleaned up. I recommend the seafood platter, especially the salmon. The cod bites with the white bait and King Prawns were so good to want to go back to again soon. As I'm writing this, I would with no hesitation call to pick up another order from them. The venue has lots of goodness and gave us no negative surprises. The staff were amazing, I mentioned it was our wedding anniversary and they really pushed the boats out for us. These are staff that thrive on functions. They put the clients first and the function is given the best care and diligence by them. The way the staff waited on us and let us know who they are was fabulous. I have only good things to say about this venue, it's staff and the food. Read the review to see.....

The Playhouse Whitley Bay is a modern theater with a sleek steel and glass exterior that offers a diverse range of entertainment. Following an extensive refurbishment in 2009, this beloved venue has been hosting tribute acts, family shows, cabaret, comedy, dance performances, music events, pantomimes, and theater productions. With its 630-seater auditorium and big screens for plays and films, the Playhouse frequently welcomes renowned names in comedy, dance, and acting.
Fantastic. Tonight's venue couldn't have been closer musically than if they'd have jumped into the originals skin. Fantastic crowd, fantastic acoustics great sound. And as a out and out fan of Pink Floyd, I was blown away by the fact they played a track from The final cut. Their ability was such to even improvise slightly when they saw fit, but being an awkward git I have to say they were note for note. These guys did a rendition to The great gig in the sky which was up there with the original. One of the backing vocalists was a tremendous sax player. Being as close as possible to the original musical genius and outstanding musical abilities this band showed tonight couldn't have been more convenient for even us from Blyth. We're gonna check to see the next artist we'd like to see there. At less than £70 for my wife and I to see this band is easily the best musical enjoyment we'd shared for some time. I recommend Whitley Bay Playhouse with no hesitation.
Daren K — Google review
My first visit in quite some time and I wasn't disappointed. It still looks as fresh and clean as when it reopened after it's refurb some time ago. The staff were slick coming in and quickly managed the queue. The sound was excellent in a comfortable auditorium with plenty of legroom. I've knocked a star off for programming only. Looking through the brochure it is virtually all tribute bands and the price is expensive for a bunch of pretenders. More 'proper' artists would have me rushing back.
Gordon S — Google review
Waited for years to visit the Playhouse then came my opportunity this week Great venue whatever you're there for Loved it
Martin M — Google review
Great venue for gigs, any where is a good seat as venue is small. Bar area not a great selection and my experience the beer was not cold birra moretti.
Ian S — Google review
I love attending events at the Playhouse. Great venue, friendly staff, always a decent (non-restricted) view. The bar isn't badly stocked, and they also sell ice cream. Auditorium isn't small (638 seats), but the way it's laid out makes the events more intimate.
Gillian B — Google review
Visited the Playhouse last night to see Fleetwood Bac. They were excellent, but I have to say that some mindless individuals, and there were quite a few, spoilt it by talking and shouting really loudly. Its such a shame as its a great venue and I couldn't fault it otherwise..
E M — Google review
Fantastic night from start to finish. Was made to feel welcomed from start of the night till the end, the show was really great. VIP room was nice, and view to stage was brilliant. Our party of 5 had a great night, thank you to both the Playhouse staff and the staff of the show. Will be returning for sure.

A trip to Whitley Bay should definitely include a stop at Di Meo's, a renowned Italian gelato shop. They also offer authentic Italian pizza and excellent coffee, all served with a warm welcome from the friendly Italian family who runs the business. Di Meo's is famous for its top-quality ice cream that is loved by families and visitors alike. In addition to this, their pizza is equally amazing and every bite guarantees deliciousness.
I have been looking for a decent ice cream shop in the area, and have to admit I am a big fan of this ice cream shop. The taste is very unique and authentic Italian gelato, no wonder they are awarded for best ice cream parlour in the town. I recommend to try Di Meo’s traditional vanilla flavour ice cream 10/10.

Amazing food, lovely staff, the taste was out of this world on everything but if I could only eat one thing forever it would be this pizza and garlic bread - outstanding! Vanilla ice cream is completely worth the hype too

The ice-cream flavours never fail at Di Meo's. If they say it's a mini egg ice-cream, it's full of mini eggs. The pistachio sauce has also been a wonderful addition! Will happily recommend to anyone in the North East!

We have been lifelong fans of Di Meos ice cream and pizza, so when we got a date in the diary to get married the first port of call was asking them if they would come along to serve some of their fab ice cream for our guests!! It couldn't have been an easier process to book and we had contact with Rosa constantly along the way making sure we were happy with timings and flavours etc. - they even catered for our gluten free guests!! The ice cream cart they brought to the venue was fab and was equipped with not only the classic Di Meos wafer but 99 flakes too. The ice cream went down a treat with so many guests commenting on how great it was (I'm sure they'll have lots of new regulars!) No regrets, the best ice cream to go alongside the best day!

We visited first for ice cream, and then decided to go for a meal while we were holidaying in Whitley Bay. The service was exceptional. Everyone was so friendly and we were welcomed warmly, with everything explained clearly. We both had pizza, and it was so, so good. If we were local, I've no doubt we'd be regulars. Special shout out to our South African waiter who indulged me when I yapped on about my own pizza oven. This place gave us one of our favourite evenings of our trip.
Axel B — Google review
We have always had delicious ice cream from here, and always smelled the pizza cooking. We decided to book tonight, and the pizza and pasta we had was very delicious! Perfect portions sizes. Will definitely be going back.

Been here loads of times and really love their pizzas and ice cream! This visit I got the creme egg ice cream special which was really good. My wife got the biscoff hot chocolate which she also really enjoyed. They allowed us to sit in which was very pleasant (we've only ever taken away previously) Amazing service, amazing ice cream and drinks and would highly recommend. Obviously will be back next time we're in Whitley bay!

Park View Shopping Centre in Whitley Bay is a convenient spot for shopping, dining, and entertainment. It's located just a few minutes' walk from the metro station and is easily accessible by local buses. The center offers a variety of shops under cover, making it ideal for rainy days. Additionally, there are plenty of nearby pubs and eateries to enjoy after a day of shopping. The layout is well-designed with stairs and lifts connecting to the car park on top of the center.
Its a shopping centre and has plenty of decent shops including charity shop. There's a PC/electronics shop and their service is very good. I got my laptop fixed here. Overall, pleasant and clean shopping mall and plenty of visible security staff

Great little shopping in Whitley Bay. It's few minutes walk of Whitley Bay metro station and lots local buses are running close by. Plenty of shops in the shopping centre and a good few more closer to metro station. If you come for the day you can go shopping then have a bite to eat and even have a pint or two. Plenty of pubs and eatery close by. The shopping centre is nice and clean and has toilets and even a paid car park on top of the shopping centre. So come have a look, you could even take a 10 Minute walk to the sea front. Lots to do in Whitley Bay. Definitely return and have been many a time with family and friends 🙂x

Good place nice staff clean place
Tony F — Google review
Usually this place would get a better review, but since I'm going by my recent visit I've had to mark it down. Mostly because the toilets are closed. I understand during this pandemic that a lot of the shops aren't going to be open, but the toilets being closed isn't right. Every other shopping centre I've been to during this time has had at least one set of toilets open. There aren't any other public toilets in the surrounding area. However it is very clean and Security is prominent.
PupRiku — Google review
Exercise caution when interacting with their security team. I experienced being stuck in the car park today, and despite a genuine mistake, they refused to allow me to leave. The team seemed more focused on boosting their egos and asserting power, causing considerable anxiety and distress, effectively trapping me. Their apparent enjoyment of the situation suggests a preference for using authority to intimidate.

Fantastic view of the seafront. Bright and classy interior. Great service! 3 courses of Sunday lunch goes for £33. I had the queenie scallops starter, which the serving plate was so unique, each scallop sitting nicely on its designated groove! The main, roast beef, pink and juicy, with velvet smooth mash accompanied a giant Yorkshire pudding, the gravy was fantastic! Last, the rhubarb choux bun was very refreshing! Will definitely return, for its excellent quality of food and value!

We visited here yesterday and had Afternoon Tea. We received a lovely welcome. The establishment was very clean. Our food arrived and was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Lovely restaurant with a great atmosphere. Staff were great with a special mention to Andrew and Catherine who looked after us from start to finish. They adapted their service to accommodate the needs of our elderly guests with great professionalism and good humour throughout. Food was amazing which made a lovely special occasion. We will be back.

Booked an afternoon tea just before Easter as a treat instead of buying chocolate. Lovely young lady serving. She was friendly & welcoming. Great views of St Mary's lighthouse and the sea front. There were 3 cakes as well as a red velvet cake with cream in a shot glass and the usual cheese and fruit scones with a quiche, sausage roll and 2 finger sandwiches. I did think it was a little top heavy with cake and there was only 2 finger sandwiches each at £27 but everything is expensive these days. It is a set menu but they do ask about special requests, allergies etc.

The food here was amazing. Alongside the highlander this is the best Sunday lunch I've had in the north east this year. The staff were friendly although we went with a child and didn't feel like this was the best place with a 3 year old, otherwise I would absolutely recommend.

They did not make them feel isolated or different when ordering gluten free menu. They were so sensitive and careful with the gluten free food she ordered - thank you!
MOB — Google review
We went for the opening night of the restaurant and overall it was a very pleasant experience. High end quality food which came at a cost, which we thought was slightly (10-20%) dearer than we thought it should have been. The restaurant is fairly small which is nice as the very attentive waiting staff are always there when needed. The view out to sea is lovely but if you're not sat at the window, as a table of 2, we found the way the seating is arranged one person had full view whilst the other had their back to it and faced a wall instead. It would have been nicer to sit side-on to the windows so as a couple both could enjoy the view. The food itself was good. Some parts were excellent, and others we were slightly let down in. For instance the fish soup, whilst very tasty, had no fish in it. Pieces of fish or seafood is what we were expecting. The Cheesecake with a sponge base was a little underwhelming. The steaks should come with a choice of sauce and a side, but you get fries and bearnaise as standard. So if you want a different sauce or veg side then this comes additionally with an extra charge. I'm being quite picky here but as a place pricing itself as high end then you would hope you expectation would be met and exceeded. As their first night though I think they've done very well, a few teething problems perhaps and I expect them to iron those out. Will we be back? I think we will try again, but as it's priced highly it might require a special occasion to celebrate to warrant the return.

I cannot recommend this place enough. Have been here twice specially for the crab sandwich because it's the best crab sandwich in the UK in my opinion - even better than a crab sandwich from Cromer in Norfolk! I have it on brown, malted bread with a bowl of chips. They do not scrimp on the filling and you get lots of both brown and white meat - absolutely delicious. Staff are really lovely and welcoming too and prices are very good. I highly recommend going here for the sandwich or why not try a dressed crab and let me know how it goes!

We cannot thank Amy and the Girls enough for an amazing Celebration following our Renewal of Vows Ceremony on the 4th May 2025 ❤️ x Everything from the planning prior to the day, the ease of booking, the regular contact and the “nothing is too much” ethos they promoted was just spot on. The Venue is second to none, a lovely welcoming space with unique features and extremely well presented. The additional bonus of the Pool Table kept our younger guests entertained all evening. The variety of drinks was also appreciated by all too. We chose the second of two wonderful food options and everything was incredible and really did include a bit of everything that is rare in a food package. The best part if it could get any better was the Staff themselves. Amy the owner is an absolute legend, she even helped me with a hairdresser when all was lost. The girls who were working were incredible with our younger guests too especially Phoebe who made a lot of friends that night! We travelled 5 hours from our home to hold our Ceremony and Celebration in Whitley Bay and the Crab and Waltzer was one of the reasons why. We would not hesitate to recommend this Venue and hope everyone that uses the Venue has as lovely time as we did!

The Roxburgh, a remote 19th-century drovers inn, has been transformed into a renowned restaurant with rooms by former pro-golfer James Close. The glassed-off kitchen and chef's table offer an intimate dining experience, while the kitchen garden provides fresh ingredients for the diverse menu. The 15-course menu takes diners on a global culinary journey, featuring dishes like pork tacos and langoustine tempura.
The taster menu was amazing - a complete surprise as we did not get a menu, which adds to the interest. The food was delicious- but not a belly buster, all small plates. We got the wine pairing which was good value for money and the lady who served us was very informative about all of the food and drinks. The decor is interesting, quite old fashioned but I really liked it. This place is only open on a Friday and Saturday evening so feels quite exclusive. All in all, a rare gem of a place and we will be back

I don’t take to the pretentiousness of some fine dining establishments but the Roxburgh is not like that at all. The food is brought to with a simple explanation and it is delicious. You pay an appropriate price which isn’t cheap. But as a self confessed tight Yorkshireman i was happy to pay for the whole great experience. Save up and go!

Friendly and attentive service, decent food for the most part. A couple of the courses were not so good, and didn't quite work with the rest of the menu, but overall good, with a couple of standout dishes. Beautifully cooked souffle!

The food here is excellent. Really good 5 course tasting menu, a wine pairing option or lovely drinks choices. The setting is a small, bistro style, lovely restaurant. Great staff and atmosphere finish off the experience perfectly.

A dining experience that rivals any Michelin star restaurant. The ambiance, the staff, the service, the drinks, the INCREDIBLE food…the Roxburgh is in a league of its own. The attention to detail we experienced was incredible. Just loved everything about it. Can’t wait to go back.

Nice meal. Wine ok but at £40 pounds per bottle expected more. Overall satisfied with meal and service. Value for money little over priced in my opinion. Quality of ingredients great. Improvement menu cards explaining what is being served although the host/waitress explained it had to ask to repeat what it was we where eating. More detail would have been great. Nice night overall

Stunningly delicious! Have heard amazing things about The Roxburgh and am somewhat embarrassed to say that it's taken this long to get in and try it. Breakfast choices are awesome and we had a fantastic (giant) sausage roll and a massive bacon sandwich - loved both! Both come with their own brand/made ketchup which was a great compliment to both dishes. This really is a proud features for Whitley Bay and one I hope to return to for brunch, lunch and dinner!

Fantastic food. Top quality presentation and taste. This place should be regarded as one of the best in the greater Newcastle region. Cosy little place with great soundtrack on offer! Bonus of bringing your own beer/wine also.

Nestled along the picturesque seafront, Davanti Whitley Lodge is a delightful destination for those craving authentic Italian cuisine. Whether you're in the mood for a pre-show pizza or a hearty pasta dish, this charming eatery promises excellent service and great value. The Sunday dinners are particularly noteworthy, featuring generous portions and mouthwatering Yorkshire puddings that leave diners raving about their meals.
Amazing meal out with the family during our stay in Whitley bay! Excellent food can’t be faulted. Amazing service from Fotis couldn’t thank him enough for catering for our 2 year olds dairy allergy. Would recommend!

What a find, for a midweek special. After some teething problems trying to book a table online i decided to ring and confirm availability and I’m so glad I did. Probably the best 2 course meals we have ever had for quantity and quality and a lovely bottle of wine too, each of which was around £20 mark. £63 ish total. Mussels starter, I opted for the white wine sauce which could perhaps have had a little more cream and less garlic to it but the size and number of mussels on the plate it was like a main meal! And I’m quite a big eater. The bruschetta starter was huge and tasty too. Lasagne was huge with plenty of sauce and Parmesan, the seafood risotto was on a large plate that was completely filled and had more of those lovely mussels and prawns too. I managed to eat the lot somehow, half of the lasagne was carried home for tomorrow. Wasn’t too busy at 8pm on a Thursday, which is surprising if the food and quantities are normally like this. You pay a premium on some courses for the 2 course special ( £15.95 ) but they were worth it and it was still cheaper than ordering from the regular menu. Apparently they do Sunday dinners too so might give those a whirl ( need to pre book for peak times apparently) There are no windows which makes it quite dark but that wasn’t a problem really. They have plenty of long marble tables / booths for 6 if you are in a group, and some smaller tables too. Highly recommended for those who like a value for money decent sized portion of quality food, which seem quite rare these days.

Lovely pizza and friendly staff. It would be good if there was more choice for vegetarians on the menu like the North shields branch. And also label the vegetarian sections of the men clearly with a V.

Absolutely stunning meals for all of us. The ingredients were top quality and cooked to perfection. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was great. A brilliant night for all of us. Thank you Devanti

Very loud dancey music - didn't fit the vibe. Mussel starter was tasty, calamari started needed more frying(not crispy), main pasta dishes were WAY too salty. Bar man was lovely but our waiter seemed like he didn't want to be there. Had to ask for parmesan and very quick to leave us at every interaction. Didn't deserve the cost and my husband and I feel pretty sick now.

The only reason I gave 3 stars for the food. I was served giant prawns still in their shell's It didn't say that on the menu. Absolutely ruined the meal for me. I could not get the shell off them. Don't like to complain. Just won't go back.

Tynemouth Park is a fantastic destination for families, offering a wide range of activities and attractions to keep everyone entertained. Visitors can enjoy boating on the Victorian Boating Lake, play 18 holes of Lost World Adventure Golf, explore the Pirate Quest Maze, or bounce around on huge inflatable slides at Jungle Wipeout. The park also features an outdoor soft play area with zones for babies and toddlers, as well as a pirate-themed play area.
A park with a lot of activities, the seasonal events for children are brilliant with staff really working hard to make everyone special. A nice cafe with good food & a decent chip shop too. Well worth a visit whrn the weather is fine

This park is awesome so close to the sea. There is a pond with ducks swan and other birds in. Plenty of eating places and the Tynemouth Aquarium is close also. I took my mum in a wheelchair here she really enjoyed this place
Satty S — Google review
A Lovley park, you have a duck pond, a play pond, gardens, toilets to the entrance of the park, a cafe with more toilets. And joining on the side of the cafe is a fish and chip shop. That faces the Adventure park, you have the inflatables, one hour slot from age 3 to age 14. I think they start the slots on the hour. You need socks. But you can buy them. It was 35 pounds for 5 children for an hour, And they were all exhausted. Picnic tables to sit on. With music playing and a little shop for hot amd cold drinks and snacks. Then you have dinosaur golf, and a pirate maze, that you can pay separately or pay all together. Not sure on prices. Then across the road is the beach. With a heat wave and summer holidays, this was a perfect day for me and my family, kids said it was the best day ever, And staff were amazing. Also adventure park will be weather permitting and seasonal Fish and chips was lovely 😍
Lou — Google review
We went on the dinosaur crazy golf which cost £25 for 2 adults, 2 children and 1 senior citizen for 18 holes. Was a really different crazy golf as had parts that squirted water when your ball went through certain things which I’d never seen before. Parts of the course were very uneven so the ball slid about a bit on some holes but was still good. Had good model dinosaurs all the way round. The bouncy castles were no good as didn’t have any free space for 45 mins and they didn’t have any notices saying how much it would cost which was badly organised.
Michael S — Google review
We had a fantastic time at Tynemouth Park. There are lots of activities for kids, including the dinosaur-themed mini golf, the inflatable Jungle Wipeout. unfortunately the maze were closed. The prices are very fair, and the staff are welcoming and kind. Perfect spot for a family day out, especially with the beach just nearby. Definitely recommend!
Waleed A — Google review
Lovely place. Wipeout, Pirate Maze and café are all nice. The only issue is single-use plastic, non-recyclable coffee cups (even when sitting in), no recycling bins and a LOT of junk food! I think they could do better in this area.
David C — Google review
Everywhere else was really good and well managed. My kids really enjoyed the maze and inflatable but we had a small issue at the golf. We spent £10 on golf which is reasonable price for what you get but we made it to hole three on the blue course which there was a little pond with a pool stick to fish the balls out if they go into it. My daughter went to take her turn and hit the ball to hard which caused it to go into the middle of the pond. We tried everything to reach the ball but we couldnt get it back so I sent my daughter to see if she could get another ball because it's not fun when she can't play. 2 minutes later she comes back saying she can't get another one without paying another £1. There were no signs saying u had to pay more money if u loose the ball. We obviously payed to get another ball because we had only done three holes. As we played on we found that most of the holes were placed next to water so it was always a risk that the ball would go into the pond. We felt a bit anxious because we didnt want to keep paying for a ball every hole. Some shots are set up to go into the pond because there was two pipes and one of them led to the hole while the other led straight into the water and u dont know what pipe it would go out of. Out of all the mini golf I've done with my family we never had to pay for another ball if it's been lost.
Meg B — Google review
There are a number of different sections to this park. At the north end you have the boating lake bordered with a few flower beds and a World War 2 memorial garden. There are also toilets here. Then west of this is a large children's play area. The north end of the park has some bowling greens, mini golf and children's adventure area

Fantastic group lesson for a stag do party! The warm-up games at the beginning were fun and well-organised, and were a great way to get everyone mixing. The surf instruction was explained really clearly. When we got into the water the instructors were incredibly helpful and friendly, giving us tips and physically guiding us at the right time to catch the waves. They were great at helping and motivating everyone, from the less-confident beginners to those who'd surfed quite a bit. Really great experience. Would highly recommend!

Aye aye fellow Googlers, today i start to fulfil another promise i made to myself back in March this year when i started this latest fight to get my mobility back, there are many promises i made back then like climb a mountain, get sea kayaking qualifications and learning to surf amongst others even more fanciful, the learning to surf one was almost like a joke as at the time i couldn't stand for long without using a walking cane. Well it is now 4 months later and I am 49 lbs lighter than i was in March and for the first time in over a decade i walked 3.5 mile yesterday without my cane, it took me 1hr 20 minutes according to my gps but to me that was like rocket speed, especially when all i had to do to alleviate the pain and discomfort caused to my underlying spine injury was 30 minutes of gentle yoga when i got home. So today I figured since i can stand and walk a bit it was time to start learning to surf, I had my first ever surfing lesson today and it is luckily with the professionals at Tynemouth Surf Co run by Louis Thomas-Hudson, former captain of team GB Junior surf team, i wore my gopro mounted on my wrist to capture the day for posterity, it was so much hard work but a lot of fun and worth the pain i am in right now. My session was run by Jordan and Sam and they were totally spot on, very encouraging and patient with the group of all beginners today and before long they had us all catching waves and having a great time, you'd think you'd be freezing in the North Sea but by the time we had done the warm up i was ready to get in the water just to cool off, I genuinely can't wait to go back, you might be able to tell from my pictures how much fun i had, you decide, personally i thought it was 30 quid well spent in my book (for the 2 hours beginner surf lessons and all the kit needed hired). Thanks again lads i'll see you all soon.

Absolutely brilliant lesson today! Surf instructors Si and Jim were amazing! Me, my daughter (age 10), and my aunty thought it was the best thing ever. Never stopped smiling. We did it for my daughter’s birthday and she said this is the best birthday present ever!!! You guys did a brilliant job. Loved every minute! Will definitely be back!!! My daughter was amazing and stood up loads, I stood up a few times too! Thank you!!

Fantastically stocked surf shop situated above an incredible beach. A couple days ago coming to the end of a lush swell day, my van decided to throw a wobbly locking me, a post-surf icicle still suited an booted, out in the rapidly descending darkness. The amazing Angela leapt into action, helping me to work out a solution to the problem (and providing me with a place to drip out of the cold). I turned up in despair, and left with me heart full of kindness, thank you all so much, I'll be back!

A nice sandy beach with lots of dogs. I love dogs so I do not mind. However, the sign says the dog should be on lead, which most people ignored and did not pick up dog poo. There were people surfing and a beach sauna in tents and dipping the sea in between.

Lovely long sandy beach popular with surfers; there is a surf school at the southern end. The incline is very slight so you have to go a long way out to get be out of your depth. There is a restaurant/caffe at both the north and south end of the beach, the one at the south end has lots of beach chairs out on the sand. As with Whitley Bay, the southern half of this beach is a no dog zone between May & September.

My experience of this branch is good, the staff are friendly and approachable since this is the only type of its kind there is no competition like tesco nearby so we're almost held hostage to sainsburys pricing policy and product ranges which cannot be changed I have also noticed this branch has its prices higher than the sainsburys supermarket a mile away which is frustrating and now they've started reducing the size of things like their pastries whilst raising their prices everyday consumables seesaw cost wise meaning if there are products I rely on daily I will avoid purchasing until they come back down in price a week or so later there are also a lot of dead stock lines on the shelves with long sell by dates not moving which presumably get sent to their supermarkets and reduced if they aren't selling by far the worst problem is the threat of violence in the evenings as there will only be 1 or 2 staff members on and maybe a security person and gangs of kids are regularly coming into the shop behaving aggressively toward the staff and customers alike whilst trying to steal which they believe they are entitled to do! It's very sad and uncomfortable and it's not fair on the staff either the police take a great deal of time to attend sometimes leaving the staff in a very vulnerable position I think the staff do a great job being under resourced and underpaid (having worked in the industry) its nice to see smiling faces everyday and staff willing to help! Thank you !

This is my local shop and recently I've been very disappointed with the staff. They are rude and impolite and seem more interested in gossiping to each other on their headsets (normally about customers). On numerous times they've attempted to overcharge me. Normally I spot this but it seems the staff are incompetent too.

I believe this individual store has a real serious systemic breakdown between staff and customers. I never have any issues other than in this individual store. The management really should approach this issue head on. It’s basic costumer service at the end of the day. Questions need to be asked when such basic aspects of general human interaction, never mind costumer interaction can’t be done with manners & respect.

Guests can also enjoy homemade corned beef and cheese and onion cakes in a warm atmosphere that feels like home. Perfect place. Found it on google maps and liked the pictures so I figured I’d give it a go with my family as it’s our first time in Newcastle especially the coast side and we wanted proper fish and chips. This really is some of the best fish and chips I’ve had and the service from the owners was 10/10. Lovely women and great quality food. You can tell they’re the original chippy of Whitley Bay. The sit in special of fish and chips, buttered bread with a strong cup of tea was under £8. Solid value for money.

This is just about the most authentic fish and chip takeaway I have ever visited. It is worth looking it up for details of its history and that of the lovely lady who now owns it and serves. The equipment she uses has clearly been used and loved forever - it is certainly not a glitzy look - but the fish and chips was outstanding, as was the service and discussion while waiting for it to be freshly fried. A memorable visit for all the right reasons!

I had a cappuccino and the mi i rustic breakfast. Both were very nice and not overly expensive either. Staff were pleasant. The food was a little bit slow coming out but well worth the wait. Definitely worth a visit.

Great spot, service was IMPECCABLE, food was great and coffee was outstanding. Will definitely come again, even though it's usually out of our way, worth the extra drive.

Really amazing place for lunch/brunch Bit of a spur of the moment and very glad we stopped by! The place is lovely, fab decor and relaxed vibe Food was delicious. I got the sweetcorn fritters which was a special and I really hope they put them on the main menu as they were so good!! Plenty of gluten free options on the menu too Staff were super friendly and helpful Would definitely recommend!

Chinese restaurant
Chengs in Whitley Bay is a delightful little Chinese restaurant that has captured the hearts of locals and visitors alike. With attentive staff who go above and beyond, including offering doggy bags for leftovers, it's no wonder families have been returning for years. The food here is nothing short of divine, with generous portions at reasonable prices. Whether you're vegan or have specific dietary needs, the chef is more than willing to accommodate your requests—just ask about their incredible bean curd!
Living here for a while and it tried this little gem. It’s actually pretty tasty and cannot understand why we have not been before. I think that takeaway can always look at bit beige, depending on what you get but the photos don’t do it justice. Give the takeaway a bash!
David M — Google review
I was here on Friday night and experienced terrible food poisoning. I was sick in the restaurant (couldn’t make it to the toilet) my vision went blurry and I felt as though I was going to faint. Almost ended up in A&E. When I phoned 111 and described my symptoms they believe it may have been caused by an additive that was put in the food to enhance flavour. The restaurant did not apologise for causing this and didn’t take any money off the bill. Really disappointing.

Lovely sweet little Chinese restaurant in Whitley Bay. Staff are friendly & service is fast & not slow like other places. Food is tasty & good quantity per serving. Only thing would say is meat can be done with being cooked a bit more well done, but that's the only thing that could be improved. Really delicious food for a good price. 🍜

My family and I have been coming to Chengs for years. Whitley Bay is lucky to have such a gem of a restaurant. The food is divine, and prices more than reasonable. Service is fantastic and staff are very accommodating. If you have any dietary requirement, the chef is more than happy to modify food to suit. As a vegan, this is by far the best Chinese I've had - the bean curd from here is out of this world! Decor is a little dated but it adds to the charm of the place.
Niamh T — Google review
We ordered the early evening menu, which is a good option to eat a good amount in good price, the corn soup was good, missing chicken mince, the duck pancake was okay, not bad. Good service.
林庭安 — Google review
Very disappointing. Usually very nice but there might be a new chef or something. The Cantonese Beef, chips and curry sauce were nice but not on a par as I remember. The fried rice was obviously overcooked and awful and nearly £8 wasted food in the bin. I complained but I'd have to collect (again) and as it's a 10 mins walk there and also back and I was settled, having a cold Chinese to heat up later didn't float my boat. Time to offload what I wanted to for a while anyway but this restaurant was the nicest, bar the town, for a sit-down Chinese but that was about 25 years ago! It hasn't changed since and is in serious need of decoration etc but still expecting premium prices. No more!!! It could do with a visit from Gordon Ramsey to set it straight and back to the lovely restaurant it once was....

Italian restaurant
Davanti Classico is an Italian restaurant located in Tynemouth, offering traditional cuisine in a stylish setting. The menu features a variety of classic Italian dishes such as seafood, pizzas, pastas, risottos, and seasonal specials. Situated within the architecturally stunning Tynemouth Station, it's a convenient spot for visitors to the weekend market or those traveling by train. Locals frequent this restaurant for its popular Italian menu and casual dining experience.
We love it here so much. We have had calamari, minestrone soup and pizza. All of them are delicious to us. We have never had minestrone soup before so we cannot compare it to others. However, I love eggplant so it was really delicious. The staff is friendly. The only thing that really surprised me was that the margarita pizza did not contain basil. Thank you very much.

Brilliant night out! We brought our visitors to Davantis, good choice as it turned out to be the perfect end to their trip 'up north' thanks to Grace who took orders and served the food. How she kept track of everything is beyond me. There was such a good menu we kept changing options. Grace was amazing, nothing was too much bother and the banter was so funny. The food was excellent to. When 'picky' southerners say its the best Italian they've had it speaks volumes. Fab atmosphere, couldn't fault a thing. Will definitely be back. Thanks again to all the staff for giving us a really brilliant night out.

Went on a Groupon deal. Parking is an issue unless you strike lucky with one in the reserved area. Staters were really good. The garlic bread is a pizza base type and is probably too big for one person as a starter. Potato skins were really good. My risotto didn't have much chicken in it and was a bit too tomatoey sauce wise. Service was good Would go back no problem

Lovely food, will definitely be back! Bruchetta, tagliatelle and lemon cheesecake.

Had Rapid lunch time menu £11.95 on their website. Two drinks circa £12. The actual price of the meal was £13.95 and an additional non advertised 10% surcharge plus the cost of a coke which we did not order. The result was that an expected bill of circa £36 had become £47 which I discovered later re my bank balance. Defo will not be going again. Take care out there!
Paul S — Google review
7 of us booked for late lunch 2.30pm. The place was fairly quiet with just a couple of tables occupied. The food here is excellent but the service is dreadful. A couple of disinterested and disengaged waitresses on duty. They had to be reminded to bring menus and cutlery to the table. After 30 minutes we had to find someone to take our order. The waitress who served us with our food was miserable and very off hand. When asked about the desserts she muttered something unintelligible. We were told they would bring the bill and card machine. We got fed up waiting and eventually went inside to pay. This place could be so much better if the staff were pleasant, welcoming and occasionally smiled. They appeared to be bored and treated us like an unwelcome distraction. We won't return.

Ice skating rink
Whitley Bay Ice Rink offers a variety of entertainment options, including evening discos with a DJ and ice hockey matches featuring the Whitley Warriors. Observers can delight in watching skilled ice skaters perform, although some may refrain from trying it themselves for fear of ending up on the floor. The rink is known for its friendly and attentive staff, exemplified by a commendable young man working in one of the shops.
We went in 1960s as next door neighbour played ice hockey! We hired our boots but much better if you get your own. We were lucky, had cars to take us, don't know how far from Metro now but wasn't that far from Railway then. Good time out, especially in school hols.
Lynn G — Google review
Fun place to go ice skating with a decent cafe serving a variety of snacks and drinks. There is a lot of cynical money grabs such as charging for simply spectating your child at an ice skating lesson and only accepting card payments over £5.
Jonny 5 — Google review
Overall enjoyable very old school ice rink. Only complaint would be the figure skaters during public skate seem to have a disregard for others take a very wide birth when passing them.

So much good fun to be had! There was ice skating. A giant wolf. An ice truck. Lots of guys sat in the unhappy box. Hot dogs during the break. Great evening entertainment!

Brought my 14 and 13 year old daughters for the Sunday morning session and they had fun, hence my 2 stars. However; I’m a skater and have been for over 40 years, and I couldn’t skate (safely) using the rented skates! I have my own hockey skates, but hockey skates are not allowed in the Sunday morning session. The rented skates were completely blunt, and when I pointed it out, I was told it is for health and safety reasons. I didn’t feel safe on the blunt skates so sat out the session. As you may expect, refreshments are overly priced and the place is in DESPERATE NEED of renovation. Had I felt happy to skate I could have overlooked that fact, but there’s no excuse. There were plenty of skaters, so the money is coming in. Please spend some of it in making it a nicer place to be.
Nick M — Google review
Could do with a revamp, it's still the same as it was 20 or more years ago! Apart from the damp, dingy building, the ice does the job it needs to. The hire boots could be replaced too. Kids enjoyed so suppose that's the main thing!
Jennifer T — Google review
Absolutely diabolical, this place get worse every time I visit 1st off no even a pair of matching skates (see photo) Left skate was sharp, right was as blunt as a block of melting butter which mean it was impossible to skate without looking like Bambi on ice Secondly profit is most definitely put before safety, you would think with covid (currently Omicron variant) they would limit the amount of entrants but even after 30+ minutes of so called skating there was still a queue for skate hire that went all the way back past the restaurant. Even if you could skate there were too many people on the ice to move safely Now as for the restaurant... I didn't eat there, I don't want to eat there and the tables were not cleaned in the 2 hour slot we were there. I unfortunately had to pay £1.70 for a 500ml bottle of coke.... I'm sure you can buy a 2ltr bottle for less. Absolutely shocking all round. Next time I'll be going to billingham rink as by all accounts it of a mildly better standard that this place. I would be safe to say this last visit if the straw that broke the camel's back

Nestled in the heart of Whitley Bay, Kith & Kin is a charming family-run café that stands out as a must-visit for brunch enthusiasts. This dog-friendly spot welcomes you and your furry friend after a scenic beach stroll. The menu is an exciting blend of traditional favorites and unique dishes, featuring delights like Shakshuka—eggs simmered in a spicy tomato sauce topped with feta—and indulgent lemon cheesecake French toast paired with blueberry compote.
What a great little find in Whitley! Fantastic gluten free-friendly breakfast with lovely staff and great coffee. Veggie and vegan options, huge portions, there must have been ten slices of bacon on the blueberry French toast. Definitely recommend the quality, value for money and great service.

An absolute standout of a café in Whitley Bay. The food is unreal and mostly sourced from local businesses. Great prices for the portion sizes, taste and overall quality of food. Coffee is from Pink Lane, so you know it’s good! They also offer takeaway as well. The staff are all lovely, friendly and eager to help with anything to ensure your visit is as pleasant as possible. Please be advised that booking is quite recommended. What a gem of a place!

Having discovered this lovely cafe last year, we visited every day on our recent trip - consistently great food from the normal British to more exotic Turkish and Australian - food quality exceptional - staff all really lovely - great value, great space and yes, we will be back next year - thank you Kith & Kin xx

The best brunch spot in Whitley Bay. I am a regular visitor as the service is always great and food is amazing. The menu changes seasonally to offer the best in season produce whilst the classics remain on the menu. The atmosphere is very welcoming and inclusive; I have been as a couple, with friends, with my daughter and alone and always received the same warm welcome. The staff are very accommodating to high chairs/ prams and wheelchair users. K&K is a breastfeeding friendly environment and also has an offering of feminine hygiene products in the bathroom which shows the thought behind the business of offering a welcoming space to all. Kith and Kin is home to the best cappuccino in my opinion, topped with real chocolate. I always opt for the French toast, choosing the special French toast on my last visit which was cereal milk and it was absolutely gorgeous (around £20 for the French toast and 2 cappuccinos). Other top contenders for me are the loaded hash browns, steak sarnie and the classic bacon sandwich which is jam packed with crispy bacon. The staff are great with allergens and the menu has vegan and veggie options. Always recommend booking in advance if attending on a weekend to avoid disappointment but K&K is always a recommendation of mine to anyone after a superb brunch spot.

Fantastic food and coffee at Kith & Kin. I had ‘The Aussie’ which tasted fresh and was full of flavour. I followed this with a cake, which I found to be the ideal sweetness. The flat white was perfect, I don’t often say this as I’m fussy about coffee. Staff were friendly and efficient. There was seating indoors and outside. It’s a busy cafe, not surprising given how nice the food and drinks are, so it may be difficult to get seated at busy times. They take table bookings but only if it’s for four or more people.
Melanie H — Google review
Quirky little cafe along the Main Street Serve food and drinks including some alcohol, There is seating inside however it is quite cramped when busy. Some outside seating in better weather conditions. Accept cash or card Parking up to 1 hour along the high street which can be really busy and limited spaces. Good menu Order at the desk and food is served on your table Worth a visit but can be slow to get food so not a quick stop Food was lovely and served well presented Would recommend a visit

This level of customer care truly enhances the experience at Costa Coffee.

Nice coffee and food. I ordered a Ruby Cocoa Hot Chocolate and Chocolate Tiffin... The only thing that let it down was the dirty cutlery, but I didn't use it anyway

I come to Costa most days to have an hour to myself and do some reading for work. It really is a great coffee shop. The coffees are delicious. Most of all, the staff are brilliant. They know my order, have a sunny disposition and daily chat. Sitting listening, I can hear that every customer who comes in is given the same welcome. They know all the regulars and make the morning coffee experience a great one.
Louise W — Google review
We use this costa often but this morning the service from Adam (I believe) was exceptional. Working alone for a short time as the shop opened there was a queue to the door, Adam was professional yet friendly and so calm. What impressed me as I waited for my turn to be served was how he knew customers names and greeted them individually, knowing what their drink would be he was one step ahead making the drinks. I work in hospitality and I understand the importance of customer care, Adam is a credit to your store/company and should be recognised for his dedication, maybe even be asked to train others to this level. Costa you have a star working for you. My coffee was great as always too and other staff members are always pleasant.

The staff are friendly and helpful. I had a issue once with the coffee cup lids, it didn't fit correctly and it spilt on my gor-tex jacket. I told the manager and he did his absolute best, however head office didn't care and I was met with excuses. However the manager went out of his way to help. Unfortunately I will never buy coffee from Costa again, and to be honest there coffee beans are rubbish anyway.

Tapas was delicious and freshly prepared, portions were great , all served by very friendly and welcoming staff. A very pleasant afternoon , and well Worth a visit .

We had breakfast here and enjoyed the food. I had the "Hash bowl" which was hash potatoes served with chorizo and halloumi, red onion, spinach, poached egg & hollandaise sauce. And it was really really good. Big portion with perfectly cooked small pieces of potato, loads of chorizo and loads of perfectly cooked halloumi. Very filling and a great start to the day. My wife got the bacon sandwich on granary bread. Good amount of well cooked bacon, but a shame that the bread was just standard sliced bread (so many bakeries in the area so they could have got some better quality bread) Overall a lovely breakfast and we would visit again for more food.

Me and my fiancé decided to try Fox and Finch when staying in Whitley bay and we’re not disappointed! Every element of every of the tapas selections we chose from the belly pork to the Asian beef were amazing, best halloumi we had ever tried! Will definitely be coming back. Finally, must make special mention for Holly and her service. She was so attentive and nothing was a trouble, not just for us, but all in the restaurant, she really did look after everyone. A real credit to the team!

We came here last year just for drinks but are back again and have been for both an evening meal and lunch. The staff are lovely, friendly and hard working. I really can't fault them. The atmosphere is great, it's actually quite a large venue but divided into three smaller rooms, which means you can still hear yourself think even over the quite excellent playlist 😀 The food is excellent, well cooked and tasty and also offers really good value especially given the generous portion size. The menu itself is varied with choices of tapas, platters, tacos, burgers and salads along with a nice selection of sandwiches for lunch. The wine menu has a good selection of wines to cater for all tastes and budgets. On a final note the toilets are spotless which in my opinion means everything else is as well! All in all highly recommended 👌

Just wandered in whilst on holiday on a very wet and miserable July evening! Very busy and service was a little slow (but very friendly) as a result but we were in no hurry. It's sort of comfort small plates. I wouldn't really say small though. We ended up with so much food! But it was delicious. The mac and cheese was on point and the salt and pepper cod was delicious. It was all good. This isn't dainty tapas, but if you want some really tasty homemade fodder and want to try and few different things this place will hit the spot! Go hungry.

We visited today for Sunday Lunch, and were pleasantly surprised. As a vegetarian, there aren’t many establishments that offer a veggie option, but I had 2 on this menu! I opted for the mushroom wellington and my companion had roast beef. The beef was exactly as ordered, pink…and my wellington was very tasty. The veg was plentiful and cooked really well. Dessert was excellent too. Service was a little slow, but our waitress Claudia was polite, friendly, professional but able to share a bit of banter too. Overall a very enjoyable experience

A birthday treat for my wife and daughter as their birthdays are close, they opted for AL Bear. Staff great and attentive and drinks order taken swiftly, food order taken shortly after. Food arrives and burger with rump steak on top was rough, chicken skewers were dry and over salted, it was busy with kids running around and messing about in the toilets unsupervised by their parents, (Prosecco time) Overall not the best for the price. Staff were great, food average. Had to park a 5 minute walk away also. Won’t be back unfortunately AL Bear 👎🏻

We had a huge group which is out of the usual for here, but they accommodated us during to it being a 40th birthday. Connor was the most professional and hardworking host I’ve experienced in the hospitality industry and is in my opinion wasted here. (No offence to Albear) He could succeed in a 5⭐️ Marriott due to how calm he was in the face of some rude members of our party which I would once again like to apologise for. Connor could have easily refused to serve those members of our party but remained calm and professional when I myself would not have done. He worked tirelessly to get the dishes out on time despite the chaos and delivered a great night for our special guest. Connor’s colleagues on the night also performed brilliantly but I did not get their names, my partner and I would like to thank you for working so hard that we still had a great night. Now, the food. 5/5 no faults. Everyone we had feedback from said the same, beautiful. Thank you to the kitchen team on the night. We were an awkward party, asking for tables to be moved and seats swapped, they catered to every request, and nothing was a bother. Great service and great food. 5/5

Always give places a try. I wasn’t filled with much hope with I found out that the Sunday dinner only menu was on at this place, however can I say that the food was delicious and the roast post was really really good!! There was so many sides including greens and potatoes and parsnips and carrots and the gravy was lovely, along with the Yorkshire pudding. Sometimes you think you can do it yourself better however treat the family every now and then. Really nice staff today and very accommodating, even if we may it difficult to begin with! Good luck and support them!

Decided to visit here with family for a special occasion. Upon arrival I asked at the bar if my table I had reserved was ready. The lady told me where the table was but I wasn't lead there. We were seen to fairly quickly for drinks and food. However when I tried to order more drinks as the food order was taken the server walked away. Food was delicious, generous portion sizes and all fresh! We were placed in the corner against what I can only assume shared a wall with the kitchen as there was a lot of banging against it throughout the meal. No staff asked how food was and no one checked if we needed for drinks. After we had finished our food we waited 35 minutes and no plates were removed from the table. After trying multiple times to grab a servers attention, patience was lost. I had to leave the table and acquire the bill myself and ask for the table to be cleared. When the final bill arrived a charity donation was added on our behalf. We weren't asked if this was okay, no signage in the restaurant was present explaining this either. We had no problem with being asked if we would like to donate to charity, however it was added without consultation. Food was lovely, service not so much

Fish and chips takeaway
Fast food restaurant
Nestled in the charming area of Monkseaton, North Tyneside, Seashells is a delightful fish and chip shop that has garnered quite a reputation among locals. Known for its delicious offerings, patrons rave about the hot and tasty meals, particularly the chicken strips and chips special. While some have noted that portion sizes could be more generous, many agree that the quality of food often outweighs this minor drawback. The staff are friendly and efficient, ensuring quick service even during busy times.

Very nice chippy. Had the chips and chicken strips special, think it was £3.50 everything was hot and tasty. Only downside was the portion size on the chips, would of had a little bit more. The size was a little bit small. But in saying that if i was to pass by again on my lunch i would go in again 👍

Paid £5.00 for curry and chips when notice said £4.35. Cashier said it was £5.00. chips were overcooked and almost inedible. Absolutely poor service and poor value. I will not use these again, unless it improves. I think I deserve an apology

We often travel from Newcastle to Monkseaton just to call in for Fish and Chips. The quality is always good. Unfortunately this time , the food was some of the worst I’ve ever had from anywhere. I bought cod bites ,chips and curry, £14.50 , but I overlooked that as I was expecting the usual good quality that we normally get. The batter on the cod bites was soft and spongy, the cod was dry, the chips were reheated in the pan, they must have sat there a while and been reheated, false economy there. I’ve recently retired , having been in the Fish & Chip business since 1988 , and know all the pitfalls and problems when trying to run a business. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement, I felt cheated out of my money, just so they could save some money.

Fish and chips were revolting. This place is usually nice but after reading a few reviews this last month or so I can honestly say I couldn’t agree more. The fish was cooked way too quick and the chips were disgusting. I would rather have ate frozen fish from Aldi. The price they charged, for food of this quality is shameful. I won’t be paying them another visit I will spend my money elsewhere.
