Shopping
Middleton Grange Shopping Centre is a delightful gem nestled in the heart of Hartlepool, offering an impressive array of shopping options all under one roof. This vibrant mall features popular retailers like Primark and 3, alongside charming charity shops and fast food outlets. One of its standout features is the seamless access to various streets in Hartlepool, allowing visitors to explore beyond just Victoria Road.
Absolutely love this shopping centre, and in my favourite of places, Hartlepool. Watch out for the traffic wardens giving tickets out, really unnecessary behaviour off them. A local guide on the carpark ( Crackasaurus) is a lovely fella, filled me in with local issues, and really brightened my day up.
Matthew I — Google review
It's just 'okay'. There's not an awful lot of shops to browse. It feels a little lacking. There's a lot of empty units as well. Maybe if the rents were lower, you'd attract some stores and have some income from them rather than them sitting vacant. It's not bad for a little rummage, though. Overall, it's okay.
William W — Google review
There are lots of empty plots where shops used to be thriving. Has a dirty feel to it once inside. Car park is awful, and what's worse is the local council charges you to park, and the minimum is a pound - which is scandalous. The car park is also dirty and smells. EDIT HBC - Charging disabled people to park is an absolute disgrace. As photographed, HBC will now charge for disabled parking.
Claire — Google review
My local shopping centre. Needs serious improvement. The wing where wilko and post office used to be up to the entertainer shop is supposed to be getting demolished soon, boyes are supposed to be moving in where H&M used to be soon. The old indoor market and all the stores where the old 'what everyone wants' store used to be needs redeveloping. Some of them units have been empty and abandoned for over 20 years. That part of the shopping centre needs bulldozing and rebuilt as someting modern rather than leaving it to rot. There are worse town centres nearby and its not a bad little shopping centre but it needs desperate improvement before more retailers move out and definately needs more food options than junk such as mcdonalds, greggs ect. Its also shortsighted that one of the lifts in the centre is broken down all the time. I look after someone who is wheelchair/mobility scooter bound so surely this should be addressed properly.
Chris A — Google review
Good central town shopping location with a good selection of shops and eateries. Pleasant atmosphere and well kept.
Daniel D — Google review
The shopping centre is tenanted primary by discount retailers including B&M, Home Bargains, Primark and TJ Hughes. This in itself is not necessarily a bad thing, but unfortunately - unlike most shopping malls - it is subject to council parking charges.
Matthew A — Google review
Spacious shopping mall with most popular and less popular stores. Bank/ATM available, escalator available for getting to the top floor

Good clean environment could do with more shops a bit of a ghost town now remember the days that town centre was booming

Chain retailer of bedding, curtains & soft furnishings, plus kitchen equipment & home goods.
Dunelm have a good range of products to suit every need and budget. The staff are extremely welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. Everything I've bought has been off a decent quality, from bedding to cups to cleaning brushes. If I were looking for any household items I would at least check at Dunelm first. They have regular sales / discounts so it's not unusual to be able to pick up a great bargain. I've had everything from serving dishes to slippers at such steep discounts that it almost felt like stealing. There's also a lovely little cafe on the top floor run by Pausa which is very popular with local residents which is reasonably competitive with it's prices. The staff are incredibly friendly and will bend over backwards to accommodate any requests.
Matthew A — Google review
Items didn't ring through at marked price. Assistant very curt when I pointed it out. Needs to learn good customer service behaviour.

This review is for Wayne. What a treasure. He was working in the curtain department when I asked for help with an item I couldn't find. He found it. But there was only 1 pack. I needed two. He checked the stock, asked another member of staff where it would be in the warehouse. Went and got it. Fast, really polite. Didn't make it seem like I was asking for the world like alot of staff do when they need to go look in the back. Didn't fob me off. Simply an all round lovely guy! Its a shame guys like him dont get more appreciation for their customers service and the 5* attitude they respesent the company with every day. Thankyou Wayne!

Lidl

Supermarket
Discount supermarket
Lidl is a well-known supermarket chain in the United Kingdom, offering affordable prices, especially for groceries. Currently, they are having Easter sales and clearance, making it a great time to shop for more with less money. The store has short queues and courteous staff. Additionally, there is ample car parking and the store is reasonably clean. While sometimes they may run low on stock due to high demand, the staff are generally nice and there's security available at various times.
Clean, tidy store. Staff are always busy, but usually still friendly.
Lucy — Google review
Very disappointing experience. After a long, busy day at work, I stopped at Lidl for some food shopping.I have been a loyal Lidl customer for many years, but my experience today at this store was unacceptable. I value a quick but courteous shopping trip. Instead, I was met with rudeness and impatience from the female assistant at the till. She didn’t greet me, rushed me before I’d even finished unloading my shopping, scanned everything at speed, and told me to “throw everything into the basket.” She never asked if I had a Lidl Plus card and didn’t offer me a receipt. The whole interaction was stressful, unfriendly, and unprofessional. After years of loyalty I felt totally unappreciated. If this is how regular customers are treated, I will take my business elsewhere. Luckily there are many better alternatives in the area. I hope Lidl takes this feedback seriously and addresses the poor customer service at this store.
Victoria S — Google review
Over the past year the service at the checkouts has got slower and slower. More often than not you’re stuck in a queue for a while. They really need to get some self service checkouts like Aldi.
Lewis A — Google review
Terrible attitude to disabled people my partner who's disabled needed water 12 bottles which are heavy there was nobody there to help here lift them so she had to struggle giving her excruciating pain then when she went to the till they said you'll have to lift them up to be scanned she explained she couldn't as she was in to much pain but the till cashier argued saying you'll just have to! The leads on the scanners can teach into the trolleys and she even if they didn't could have helped her! Awful situation and attitude from the staff things in this world need to change I'll be speaking too head office and the manager of the store tomorrow very angry
Steven H — Google review
My experience and findings in this store were mixed. On the plus side there is a considerable range of what might be called exotica. These are the food items from the continent. There is an impressive array of products from France and Germany in particular. Perhaps because of the lead-up to Halloween there was a huge range of sweet treats. These went beyond the ordinary fare but were classy and not just made for Halloween. So perhaps many of these products are regulars. The fresh produce was not too bad but nothing special. Prices seemed moderate to competitive. The avocados were low-priced but were quite small, so they needed to be cheap or would still have poor value. The range of wines was a little different from other Hartlepool outlets. There was some quite cheap wine but it was corked! Who still does that? I did find some olives and a couple of French cheeses to buy. It was good to find some unpasteurized cheese. I have marked down the rating as I found the staff a bit disappointing. Staff in similar stores throughout Hartlepool are wonderful but at Lidl they lacked something. The check out operator was grumpy and made a fool of herself putting on a fake interaction of hello and goodbye.

My goto Store, for the German products I really enjoy. Easy to reach by Bus and Car.

The National Museum of the Royal Navy Hartlepool is a captivating quayside destination that transports visitors back to the era of Admiral Nelson. This engaging museum features costumed guides and allows guests to explore the historic 1817 warship, Trincomalee, at their leisure. Even if you arrive later in the day, there's plenty to see and do!
It was an interesting weekend trip. Very convenient free parking near the museum. The entrance ticket for an adult cost 16 pounds, but this is not a big price for such an interesting museum. From the first steps we got into the atmosphere of life near the old pier several hundred years ago. The opportunity to get on board the frigate, go down to the lower decks - it was exciting and interesting. Many interesting locations for children. There is a nice cafe and toilets, as well as a souvenir shop.
Olha H — Google review
We had a great day here with the boys aged 9 & 12. They enjoyed the weapons talk and the fighting ships experience. The 9 year old is also young enough to have enjoyed the play area and the additional games set out quoits and bowls were fun. The only negative I would add would be some of the displays in the buildings were a bit tired and dimly lit and the wording was too high up to read easily. The ship is very interesting and the whole quay area gives a good overall impression. If you could get some investment this has potental to be 5 star. There is a cafe which we didn’t use as we’d brought a picnic which you are welcome to do. There is seating available. Overall for the price on an annual ticket£34 for 2+2 it’s good value compared to many other attractions and free parking an added bonus.
Linda C — Google review
Small but quite interesting place. None of the buildings were real which was quite disappointing. Good displays and lots of information. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. Free parking, gift shop and cafe on site. Buy tickets online they are a little bit cheaper.
Liz — Google review
The museum is ok, it is looking tried in places I.e information plaques torn or items missing. The centre piece being the naval ship is very good however I would have liked more information around the ship to bring the different parts of it to life. We were warmly welcomed onboard but about from that limited in info to read or a talk through would have been fantastic even an audio app to listen too would have been welcome. The weapons talk and the firing of the cannon was good along with the hands on bit at the end. The quayside is well maintained and there is information within some of the buildings. I do get that one ticket gets entry all year however not enough for us to make another trip I feel. Comfortable visited within a morning or afternoon

Family visit to the Royal Navy Museum, took our 12 and 9 year old boys, it's full of information, things to see and Interact with, you can hop on board and explore the HMS Trincomalee to see what it was like, it has an onsite cafe, play park and gift shop. It was a great visit and you can return for the next year for free with a valid ticket.
Melissa — Google review
Liked it so much we went back the next day, free of course, any number of visits allowed in a year from ticket purchase. The various demonstrations were also worth seeing.
Christopher R — Google review
Had a great visit today. Lots to look at this museum. Had everything from interactive displays all the way to going onto the actual ship. Only bad point that would make even Captain Pugwash sad are Some of the displays lighting was really poor or not working. Couldn’t see some of the displays as was too dark.
Tut Y — Google review
Never been here before, but thoroughly enjoyed our visit here - it was good to be able to look all over the ship, at the various decks and areas the crew lived and worked in. As the tickets last for 1 year from date of purchase, we may well return in the spring / summer.

Outdoor Activities
Seaton Carew Beach is a popular destination on the North Sea coast, attracting bathers and families during the summer season. The vast expanse of sand revealed at low tide makes it a favorite spot for visitors in winter. The area offers amenities such as fish and chip shops, ice cream parlors, arcades, and a shop for beach essentials. Parking can be limited during peak times, so arriving early is recommended. Lifeguards are present for added safety.
A nice place for relaxation for summer where people can go with family band friends to catch fun and unwind I love the section for children where there are several games that can amuse the children and give them pleasant memories I also love the hotels and lounges close to the beach which makes it attractive to tourists
GeeTee S — Google review
Absolutely stunning beach front, in winter or summer. The beach front is flat and extremely clean and well kept, so it's perfect for a lovely walk. Be prepared for winds though! You can see the beautiful headland and take stunning photos on a clear day. It can get busy in summer, with tourists and sun worshippers but there is plenty of sand and beach to share; it could never get too busy! Well worth a visit. Unfortunately to one side there is a bit of an eyesore - however it doesn't take away how beautiful the beach and ocean are. A must see.
Claire — Google review
Be careful with the wasps at the plastic clearing bins right before the beach wall and entrance. Next to the lifeguard building. Great beach, busy and tricky to park if you get there after 11am. Good idea to have bags provided for collecting rubbish. But a plastic free option would be better. Quite a walk from the nearest car park to the sea when the tide is out.
Beereed — Google review
Plenty of parking, dog beach not far. Always a great day out.
Nnamdi A — Google review
One of the best beaches I have ever been on, felt like miles of sand to walk along. Cheap parking fees, £1.00 for two hours or £2.00 for four hours. There is a lovely little park on the front for the kids with a small water park, plenty of seating to watch the kids enjoy themselves. Hidden gem, a must visit, dependant on the weather. Take a walk over to the town, very reasonable priced ice creams and two very good arcades to keep the kids happy.
Steven T — Google review
Great beach to visit with the family. Expect to queue up for fish and chips and ice-cream as they get really busy
Jonathan — Google review
Great beach for a nice walk with the family and dogs. There is a lot of shells and stones on the beach for the kids to find and collect. There are a lot of bins for rubbish and dog waste so everything was kept pretty clean. The was plenty of parking next to the beach and it is free when out of season.

Mediterranean restaurant
Portofino is a split-level eatery with stunning marina views, offering a varied menu and decor influenced by North African and Mediterranean styles. On a visit without a reservation, the requirement of a deposit seemed unnecessary to some. However, they were seated at an appealing table and found the menu to have plenty of options. One friend experienced delays in receiving her drink but quickly resolved the issue with another staff member. The food itself was described as absolutely delicious, with generous portions and a lovely atmosphere.
Didn't book a table. We just turned up around 6.45pm. They just told us to sit for a few minutes whilst they cleaned a table for us. The restraunt itself is very well lit and beautiful with all the fairy lights, the lovely hanging ivy and the balconies it's easy on the eyes. It's also very colourful and has a lot of little quirky things you'll notice. The food was amazing, and i will definitely be returning and also recommending this bistro. Before our starters came, they brought us a bowl of fresh bread with butter. You could tell it was freshly made. First, we ordered 2 starters, the chicken stripes and garlic mushrooms. My partner liked the fact that the garlic mushrooms were cooked in garlic instead of just stuffed and said they were the best she's ever eaten. The chicken stripes were amazing with panko breadcrumbs. I ordered the hot shot parmesan with chips, the parmesan was nice, the chicken tender, and the breadcrumbs were tasty. The chips were among some of the best I've eaten well cooked and crispy but yet soft on the inside. My partner ordered the slow-cookrd beef in red wine with root vegetables. She said the beef was melt in your mouth tender - however, there were 2 small pieces that were a little fatty, The mash was perfect👌. The vegetables were delicious, and it was also served with roasties, which she said was unneeded as she had mash but said they were perfect crispy outside and fluffy inside. Considering all the food we ordered and a pint each, we were pleasantly surprised with the price we did go during the happy hour promotion, though.

Visited here at the weekend. The place was packed out, nice atmosphere. Took a while to get some drinks but afterwards the service was rapid. Young lady took our order (half of which was vegan), then a different lady brought out complimentary bread and butter (with vegan butter too) which means that our table had a vegan patreon had been communicated elsewhere which is excellent. Starters - vegan garlic bread with cheese 5/5. Best vegan cheese GB I’ve had, vegan cheese is not easy to melt and this was done superbly Pork belly and black pudding - 5/5 absolutely delicious, the cauliflower puree was an excellent addition Mains - lasagne 4/5 - a good solid size lasagne, very tasty Vegan pesto pasta - 4/5 again lovely, huge portion. Sides - chips - 4/5 good solid homemade style chips All with a glass of Prosecco all came to less than £50. Very good value and would definitely recommend

This was my first visit to this restaurant, and to be honest, I’m not sure I’d return. The atmosphere was pleasant, and it got busy quite quickly — we arrived at 5 PM and were seated right away. The staff were friendly, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the food didn’t meet my expectations. I chose not to mention it to the staff at the time, as they were polite and I wondered if I was just being particular. The starters and our first round of drinks arrived promptly. I have no complaints about the squid rings — they were very good. However, I ordered the seafood risotto, expecting a mix of seafood, not just prawns and haddock. I opted to remove the haddock, assuming there would be other seafood included, but that wasn’t the case. What I received was a fairly basic risotto with small prawns, which felt underwhelming — especially given the additional £3 charge on the happy hour menu. Considering the prawns weren’t king prawns and I removed the haddock, the extra cost or the cost i general didn’t seem justified in comparison to other similar restaurants. The risotto itself was too cheesy for my taste, and surprisingly, there wasn’t any parmesan added on top — just the cheesy flavour mixed into the dish. I was also a bit disappointed that no one checked on us during the meal or asked if we needed anything else, like drinks or sauces. I had to flag someone down to request these. I understand it was busy, but a quick check-in during the meal seems like basic service. One final point: I noticed the prices listed online didn’t match the prices in the restaurant. It might be worth updating this so customers know what to expect before they arrive.
Courtney K — Google review
Friendly staff, greeted with a smile. Lucky that I booked because the restaurant was packed. After having my meal there, I can see why. The basket of bread was lovely, fresh, thick, light and warm, wholemeal and white. I had the Texas BBQ Parmo with peperoni and bacon, I've had a few Parmo's around the area and this was by far the best. I actually used the word PHENOMENAL when I was asked how it was when I paid the bill.

Fabulous restaurant & food. The service we received was very good considering there was a large group of people in. The food came out hot & tasted excellent. The prices were excellent for the quality of food. Portofino comes highly recommended.

Lovely little spot with great atmosphere. Unfortunately we thought the food was substandard compared to other similar restaurants in Hartlepool based on value for money. The staff are friendly and work hard. Would definitely try again in the future.
Nathan R — Google review
Went for a Christmas meal with colleagues and was treated to an excellent feast. Starter was a very generous helping of potato skins with choice of dipping sauce, but the other starters I saw made we want to try them too. Garlic mushrooms looked amazing as did the chicken goujons. I went for traditional Christmas dinner and wasn't disappointed. It was piping hot, delicious and very filling and I would have no problem having the same again and recommending it wholly. Having said that the steak and chips my colleague had also looked amazing so I would be tempted to try that on my next visit ... And there will be a next visit as the food was excellent. Service was outstanding as the servers took our names and ensured we all got the correct meals and kept us supplied with drinks throughout. As the food was so delicious and filling none of us could face a sweet so I can't comment on those, but based on everything else I would definitely be happy to try one if I could manage to save a bit of room for it. The only downside was I got Whammageddoned during my meal ... But as I'm in a happy Christmas mood I won't knock a star off for that. 😉 Plenty of parking outside and not too far from the Centre of Hartlepool if you fancy a short walk. The only downside I could see (for some) would be the access via a fairly steep metal exterior staircase. This wasn't a problem for me but it may limit others ability to get inside.

Been here lots of times but not so much recently. Love the fact that they have a more extensive Sunday menu than just the Sunday lunch or limited Sunday menu that many pubs use. The food is always gorgeous and the ambiance is wonderful.

Food, disgusting! Didn't eat it, wasn't risking it. Neither did my son or partner. Was disgusted with the kids meal served to him, he's not a dog! Service I've never experienced anyone working somewhere so miserable and rude. They look about 12 and act about 12. Giving us dirty looks and slamming the food on the table. Atmosphere so dim and dark and depressing ooooow just absolutely horrendous never again.
Toni A — Google review
Went to the galleries for the first time in 3 years, food was shocking. Jacket potatoe was tiny, sprinkle of cheese, teaspoon of coleslaw, and small bit of salad looked terrible. The lady brought our food and would not come near the table with it because of my guide dog. Spent 17 pound to be embarrassed and have disgusting food.
Julie G — Google review
Absolutely disgusting - if you were only paying £2/£3 for the items fair enough. Corned beef toastie had 3 small pieces of corned beef and 2 onions per slice. 10 chips on the side (for £1.99!) and I’ve got no idea what the coleslaw was but it was so watery and smelt off. £5 for a kids picnic box with 2 pieces of stale bread, tuna swimming in salad cream or watered down mayo - both of my under 5s turned their nose up, a packet of pom bears and a multipack mini animal snack biscuit. Absolutely disgusting. Toilet seats hanging off and no locks. Place needs closing down awful.

Myself, my mam and my sister popped in this past Monday to see what the food was like nowadays as we hadn’t visited in over 10 years. What we were served with was a massive disappointment and was pretty much inedible. I ordered the sandwich platter which was around £6 for 2 slices of stale dry bread which tasted and felt like it had been out of the packet for days, supermarket ham and some basic ready salted crisps on the side and the odd leaf. Absolutely shocking to charge over £2/3 for that when I could have got more and a nicer meal from a Tesco meal deal. My families orders were shocking too and were barely touched. It’s safe to say we won’t be visiting again. It’s extremely sad to see what has happened to this place and needs taking over by new chefs and management immediately. The place also looks like it hasn’t been touched in over 20 years which is nice if you’re going for the retro look but at least clean your cafe.
Dalya P — Google review
If I could give this a 0 I would. Terrible cheap food. Definitely not worth the prices they’re asking. It’s ok to go here if you don’t have taste buds. This place has not been renovated or updated in decades. It’s unclean and has no feel to it. Do I need to say anything else? AVOID.

Awful, first time we had been in for a while due to shut down. Ordered two breakfasts, food smelled, and tasted like it had been fried in old stale oil. Small milk jug was coated in yellow crud. Food spilled on floor and not cleaned up. £18.00 wasted Never again, used to be a great place to eat, never again, left food uneaten and we walked out. Place has gone right down the nick.

Went there twice the first time one of our meals didn't even turn up the food was cold and unappetizing there was no flavour at all. The second time the bread bun wasn't buttered, the dumplings were greasy and the toastie was burnt. Do not recommend going here at all.

Fish and chips takeaway
If you're on the hunt for a delightful Fish and Chip experience, look no further than The Almighty Cod. Nestled in a bustling area, this gem has long been known for its mouthwatering offerings. On my recent visit, I was thrilled to find no queue—a rarity! I ordered the classic fish and chips with mushy peas, and it was worth every penny. The generous portion featured a beautifully cooked piece of cod atop a bed of vibrant mushy peas, all resting on crispy chips.
Set out for some fresh air and a Fish and Chip lunch. There were three to choose from in the vicinity but opted for the ‘Almighty Cod’, well actually we went into the ‘Hidden Tap’ as we could get Almighty Cod food within the Hidden Tap. Service very friendly and when the food came we were pleasantly surprised. The food was cooked to a high quality and generous portions, at really good price. Very rarely am I beaten by a portion of fish and chips, but it was a close run thing. Would highly recommend a visit.

First time i have tried here. Great portion size but a little too greasy, maybe just a one off... Curry sauce was lovely and would have that again. Wasn't busy so didn't need to wait long. Service was great and would definitely give them another try.
Tracey — Google review
I have finally visited the Almighty Cod today, as there was no queue, for years there has always been a long queue. I ordered fish chips and mushy peas with a can of Coke Zero, totalling £16.00p my most expensive fish and chips ever. The proof would be in the tasting, there was a large piece of Cod resting on a bed of Mushy Peas covering a tray of Chips. I found an empty bench on the promenade and began the tasting. The batter was crispy and the fish was piping hot flaky and very tasty. The Mushy Peas or Yorkshire Caviar? were slightly missing something which I eventually twigged on the road back to home and that was a hint of vinegar. Since the pandemic lots of fish and chip shops still place the condiments on the food, which is usually different to how I prefer them. I would have ensured that my chips and mushy peas were coated in salt and vinegar. Gripe over. The chips were piping hot and not greasy, the portion was so large that a small amount was wasted and I placed the remnants in a waste bin on the promenade, which were full to the brim. I wasn’t pestered by a single sea gull for food, though a solitary pigeon approached me and was ignored and it moved on. A tasty portion of fish and chips, but losing a star because I wasn’t allowed to place my own salt and vinegar on the meal. My portion was enough to feed two people in the real world. So if you split the lid from the carton, you can use that to split the food up amongst a couple of people.

Fantastic seaside restaurant, very warm welcome with friendly professional and helpful service from the attentive staff. Good choices of food and drink, the traditional fish and chips matched the quality of service - very good portions and amazing quality !! With all the trimmings you could hope for. Lovely venue , comfortable, spotlessly clean and some great drinks - immaculate toilets too which is a rare thing these days Thanks for a great experience, My 88 yr old mum, my sister and I all thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend

First time fish was excellent & massive but chips were slightly under cooked but they were so busy, however don't rush if you had waited a few more minutes would of been better, overall 8.2 out of 10 but fish was the star of the show without doubt 😋

we went to this place today. great efficient service.. I ordered one half lot portion of cod and chips.. ill just say it was 2 large pieces of thick, tasty cod.. was definitely a huge portion. such value for money.. and absolutely delicious.. well done almighty cod.. 2 other fish and chip shops over the road with no queue. this place had a good size queue which went down quickly. it just shows how good this place is..

Always bought from here but this time were absolutely awful for £27.40 they were only fit for the bin. Two cod & chips and a curry sauce will never go back and will never recommend

Portion size is great, the fish was too big for the tray. Curry sauce was spot on, really thick and good flavour. Only down side for me was the battery was abit over done, I prefer light gold in color and this was more like a dark brown and hard.

Fish and chips takeaway
Fast food restaurant
Nestled on Duke Street in Hartlepool, The Odd Cod is a beloved takeaway that has stood the test of time. Known for its generous portion sizes, this charming spot serves up thick fish fillets and hearty cheese patties alongside large fritters. Diners are often pleasantly surprised by the substantial fish sandwiches nestled between two slices of potato, all without the greasiness that can sometimes accompany fried fare.
God chippy reminds you of the old style family chippy. Good old fashioned fish and chips no kebab or pizza there. Highly recommend

Had lunch from this long established take away on Duke Street, Hartlepool. The portion sizes were good, with thick fish, decent cheese patties and large fritters. A pleasant surprise was the size of the fish sandwiched between two large slices of potato. Another bonus was that the food was not greasy.

Love this store. staff always friendly and there is wheelchair access via 2 huge lifts also if disabled end till you wait there and someone will serve you as soon as possible to save you waiting in queues and getting wheeelchair stuck also they have card only self service tills upstairs too which i thought was brilliant too.

Overall had a nice shopping experience at the monks cross Primark, however was very annoyed to see that you have to pay 15p for a paper bag, I would understand if the bags were plastic but to be charged for a bag that's not durable is highway robbery, I'm sorry to say that it had spoilt my overall experience in the store.

Very disappointed! The floors were full of tat everything was scattered everywhere. Staff were stood about giggling and laughing about that weekend when they could have been making sure the floors were tidy ! I mean be for real what if a disabled persons wheelchair got stuck on the grinch pyjamas on the floor (where there’s blame there’s a claim PRIMARK) . So primark my one piece of advice for you is don’t hire people who wanna sit about and have a chat because if all jobs were that easy then we would have no hope in this world! I would visit again as i give second chances but quite upset !

Spacious and well-stocked, this massive Primark in Monks Cross Shopping Park offers tons of variety at rock-bottom prices. Some items look as cheap as the price tag would suggest, but with a bit of hunting you can find some real gems in-store. Also, look out for licenced items, including cute Harry Potter-themed clothing. Staff are engaged and friendly, there's a lift for easy-access to menswear on the first floor, and there's lots of parking outside.

Best jump park in York!! Friendly staff, great food at reasonable prices and a has a good mix of trampolines, inflatables & assault courses.

Visited on Good Friday - was lovely and quiet! Staff on reception were friendly and welcoming. The staff on the trampolines were great fun - guy with cap and Manager black hoodie on entertaining my kids with his back flips etc and helped my autistic son with his socks. Refreshing to have nice, friendly customer service and people showing an interest in the customers. Toilers could do with a clean and to be checked.

Booked today but missed my slot due to family emergency.called and spoke to the manager (russ) he was sympathetic and let us change to a later time. Was chatting with Russ on our visit and his dedication to the park stood out,he has a lot of care for not just his customers but staff too! And can see that is clearly reciprocated. Another member of staff stood out for me (avery I think his name was) as he interacted with my kids and his fun, friendly personality didn’t go a miss! My 8 year old said he’s her favourite! He even got her a drink because she looked realy warm! These staff Realy made our visit enjoyable and can’t wait to return!

Visited today for the home education session and it was very quiet, virtually had the place to ourselves. Its a great place for the kids to blow of steam. Trampolines, soft play, inflatables and more. A great afternoon. Lockers are expensive tho. Staff were helpful and toilets clean. Plenty of parking.

A real hidden gem, clean and has had a big upgrade lots of new bits for all ages. Never overly busy and even with lots of parties (which are also fab we've had one here.) there's so much to go and lots of trampolines

My daughter and I are regular visitors - usually once a week. She is autistic and loves trampolining, but needs some accommodations to make the most of her experience. I can honestly say that of all the kids’ activities we have tried in York there’s no set of staff that make a bigger effort than the folks here. They are all always so kind to and supportive of my daughter, always happy to make any accommodation they can to make sure she’s included. I wouldn’t expect a trampoline park on an industrial estate to be the best place for SEN kids in the area, but it is.

Teesmouth National Nature Reserve is a stunning wetland haven located along the Tees Estuary, perfect for nature enthusiasts and bird watchers alike. This expansive reserve features diverse habitats that attract a variety of wildlife, making it an ideal spot for leisurely walks and exploration. A popular route spans about five miles, offering breathtaking views of the local fauna as you stroll alongside the river. Keep your eyes peeled for seals basking on sandbanks during low tide!
Another visit to the Nature Reserve while looking for a 'Crossing Points' sculpture by Andrew McKeown. Another search that ended with no success, but the weather was fantastic, and the wildlife and setting were just superb.

Established in 1966, Teesmouth National Nature Reserve is one of the oldest nature reserves in northeast England, protecting both industrial heritage and natural marshland. The area is particularly important for migratory birds and seals, and its unique blend of mudflats, sand dunes, and wetlands supports a rich biodiversity. Great views, free car park, part rocky, part sandy beach—ideal for walking your dog, going alone, or simply enjoying the coast with whomever you like.

(updated 14.9.2018) well I've just returned from Teesmouth nature reserve & to say disappointed, the parking area is basically an end of lane area to a works place... (find a place & park basically) wildlife as expected the time of year & time of day certainly played a part of what hasn't been seen today!! I'd say the beach is a nice clean beach "which I'd very much recommend for dog walkers, couples & for a general nice time... however if you turn right &head towards the harbour then expect a lot of rubbish... anyway I've some images to share (hopefully you'll enjoy them still) I'm planning on returning hoping on much better sightings etc.. seal sands well.. sorry to say wasn't a welcomed sight.. but I'll add more to that later... THE UPDATE!! well its my 2nd time I've popped out here, Friday evening just before 6pm & I've really enjoyed my short visit... spoken to a local chap who's given me some good tips of places to go & visit etc & yeah we also seen 2 owls
Mal P — Google review
Great little walk around 5 mile if you walk the left side down to the farm and back stunning views of the wildlife then cross over the sometimes busy road I walk the left of the river but that’s my choice then follow river past bird hides up to top gate if the tide is out you will see loads of seals on the sandbanks in front of able Uk then right down to other gate then right again follow big barbed wire fence to bottom then right again back to hides I had great views of 2 marsh harriers but there’s loads of other wading birds oh it also has the most pointless secured gate I think iv ever seen

Nestled within the scenic Hartlepool Marina, the Heugh Battery Museum is a charming gem that transports visitors back to the 19th century. This former coastal defense battery showcases an impressive collection of historical weapons, uniforms, and artifacts that tell the story of Britain's military past. Despite its modest size, this museum offers a wealth of engaging exhibits and fascinating insights into World War I history—most notably as the site of Britain’s first death by enemy fire.
We only had to give a donation because they are doing a lot off work in the museum. We bought some books coins pens ect. The guides were amazing friendly and knowledgeable explained everything about the items in parts of the museum. They let the children try on the clothes and let them pose with some of the items. Loved it Sent long time.

Situated on the Headland, which juts out into the North Sea and provides some spectacular views, this is a small but fascinating and well run museum which commemorates the German naval bombardment of Hartlepool in December 1914. I was particularly impressed by the staff who were most friendly helpful and informative. The Headland itself is worth a visit in order to see Saint Hilda's Church and the War Memorial which is pictured here.
JOHN A — Google review
Very small museum, but packed with history and incredible displays! Entrance is free (but a donation is recommended). Plenty of history about the battery and the role it played in WW1. Only took about an hour to go around, but the staff were very friendly and informative!

What an amazing place! We stumbled across it by mistake. Such a unique place, run by volunteers who also dress up in period clothing and even sing songs from the war on a little stage. Loads of guns, tanks, artillary, cannons and other buildings. There is a fantastic little cafe too, which has little garden huts to site in. The food is excellent and SO cheap! Truly lovely place, that feels as though its in its own little oasis.
Andrew T — Google review
Went here today to witness a stunning sunrise. Obviously the museum wasn't open but the cannon was there and the light house was lit up. Took some stunning photos of the sunrise over the ocean, very quiet, managed to park up easily and enjoy the most beautiful of scenes. I encourage anyone to experience this at least once. The photos don't do the view justice. It truly was spectacular!

What a brilliant little museum. It is small, but pay what you think and the good exhibits make up for it's size. The only ww1 battlefield in Britain, the site of the first death by enemy fire, with pictures from 1914 of the damage done to Hartlepool makes this museum a truly special visit. My 3 year old loved it. There was a volunteer tour guide on the day I visited (16/3/24) he was brilliant, excellent facts from the time. Funny and engaging, he kept my 3 year old entertained. To have a place like this so close to home is truly special. They have plenty of events on during the year as well, can't recommend this museum enough to keep the memories of those who fought for our freedom alive.

Nestled in the charming Headland area, The Duke Of Cleveland is a delightful pub that offers an inviting atmosphere and exceptional dining experiences. During a recent unplanned visit, we were warmly welcomed by the owner at the bar, who graciously found us a table despite our lack of reservation. The ambiance was lively with local band Electric Sheep performing, adding to the unique vibe of this dining spot.
Four of us dropped in unplanned and unbooked on Friday evening and what a great chance encounter. The owner met us at the bar and when we said we didn't have a reservation he said he had on spare table and was really friendly and welcoming. It was a bit odd at first as there was a local band on (Electric Sheep and they were excellent) but the place is very much set up for dining. Once I got over this and we ordered food we all had an absolutely brilliant evening. The food was good and reasonably priced. Lovely old pub with a lot of character (and characters) and the evenings entertainment was fabulous. First time visiting but will definitely look out for more band nights as this was the best night out in quite a while. Big thanks to the manager and all the staff for making room for us and making us feel welcomed.

We booked for Sunday lunch after hearing some good reports. Excellent sized portions, possibly too much, but who ever complains about getting too much food for a good price. Trio of meat's all well cooked and with plenty of gravy and portion of exceptional cauliflower cheese (be warned it's nuclear when it arrives). Only suggestion would be an extra stuffing ball for the amount of meat and possibly some horseradish sauce - we should have asked. Atmosphere was nice, all very polite and just the right volume with brilliant service from the team.

My daughter can be fussy but commented ‘the pizza was better than great, never had a pizza so good’ which believe me is very high praise. We’ll definitely be back soon.

Very nice. Hidden. Coffee about rank, but Manager sorted our coffee issues. Lovely venue. Food not to bad either. One tip; If your staff are in a rush to finish their shift ……. don’t rush your customers. It’s noticable!

Fish and chips takeaway
Fast food restaurant
If you're on the hunt for the ultimate fish and chips experience, look no further than Fish Face. This beloved spot has garnered a loyal following over the years, thanks to its consistently high-quality offerings. Diners rave about the thick, perfectly cooked fish enveloped in a fantastic batter that adds just the right crunch. The chips are equally impressive—crispy and fluffy without being greasy. For those with dietary restrictions, Fish Face shines with its gluten-free options.
I've been visiting for years and the gluten free cod here is consistently high quality. The chips are just right without being overly greasy. Their gluten free curry is worth trying, too. I've been told the gluten free batter tastes better than the regular batter. It usually takes around thirty minutes to receive a gluten free fish and chips order whether you're eating in or taking out. The takeaway collection point is inside the restaurant. There's toilets at the back of the restaurant which are disabled friendly. My only criticism would be that the table service can be poor at times depending on the time of year and whether they're employing less experienced staff.

Piping hot, Crispy moist haddock with huge serving of chips. Batter was delicious albeit a little oily for my taste. Service was slow. It is recommended you reserve beforehand. Great value for money includes bread & butter. Takeaway had a never ending queue which is a testament to the freshness and quality.
Michael S — Google review
Great fish and chips, the best in the town. Really nice cod, chips were very crisp and fresh. Haddock was delicate, tasty, line caught and freshly cooked. Children’s box was good value for money.

Really nice fish and chip shop. Crispy fluffy chips, not soggy or overly oily. Fish tasted fresh and moist with a nice batter on. £15 for a can of coke, pot of curry sauce, large battered sausage and chips, and a small fish and chips. Fish and chips were cooked fresh so nice and hot. Quick service. Indoor seating or a few seats outside.
Bethan R — Google review
Great fish and chips, crispy not greasy! Had to queue but worth the wait. Served with helpfulness and a smile - always a plus. Will be back.
Zoe B — Google review
I'm a bit confused about which cod & chips is the regular and which is the large. The large is almost double in price of the regular and the only noticeable difference is that the large chips come in a wire basket. I tipped out the chips onto the plate and took a photo to compare with a regular and I can't see the difference. The photos of other reviews have massive cod in the large meal, so I'm convinced all the large portions are actually regular portions with the wire basket. Disappointing first experience, I'm loyal to the almighty cod across the road and will remain loyal. We only popped in here as there was inside dining available. Staff and quick and friendly, dark interior that needs way more lighting.
David Q — Google review
Starting with bad, I've never encountered such a thick and oil soaked batter in my fish eating life. Minimum of 8mm thick everywhere. It's so thick I'm wondering if this is a regional preference thing. I didn't like it at all. The lemon sole inside was let down by the batter but was thick and cooked. The chips were not generous but delicious as was the curry sauce. The battered gherkins were the best part, salty, crunchy, and hard to stop eating.

Purchased a half lot fish and chips today along with other food for my three children. I was extremely disappointed with the fish . Called no manager available to complain too until Tuesday . Used this takeaway loads over the years this is the last time the fish was extremely small.

For day 3, we recommend exploring the northwest side side of town. Start the day off with Tweddle Children's Animal Farm, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Suit Direct Stadium. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

Tweddle Children's Animal Farm is a delightful destination for families seeking an engaging day out. This charming farm features a petting zoo where kids can interact with friendly animals like goats, alpacas, and horses. Visitors can purchase animal feed to enhance their experience and even participate in bottle-feeding adorable calves. The farm offers a plethora of activities that cater to children of all ages, making it an unforgettable adventure.
We had a fantastic afternoon at Tweddle Farm! There’s so much to do – we only saw part of it, but we’re already looking forward to coming back to see the rest! The tractor ride was great fun, we got to see what the rest of the farm had to offer, and though we missed the barrel ride, it looked brilliant (and both are free!). Lots of friendly animals to pet and feed, plus great play areas indoors and out – including soft play and go-karting. Food and drink were easy to find with a cafe on-site and a cool airstream food trailer near one of the play parks, which was really convenient. We visited during the Easter holidays, so there was an Easter egg hunt happening, along with some fairground rides and fun games at the bottom of the farm, adding even more excitement to the day. A great day out for kids and adults alike!

Oh my word, where do I start! We went a weekday before the easter holidays the first time. First impression was that everythinh looked a bit tired…BUT: i was wrong. The kids (5&2) had an absolute blast. Meeting and feeding the animals, barrel rides, reasonable priced food and drink, sunshine and great outdoor fun. The kids kept on talking about it for weeks now, so we went back today. And it was even better. The weather was grey and rainy today, but we had so much fun! Meeting Rabbits and Ginue Pigs, Feeding Lambs, barrel and tractor rides, beautiful peacocks, service with a smile… to end it with an absolutely entertaininh foam party. The staff joined in and the young lady, long dark straight hair and a few tattoos on the arm was just so amazing with the kids! It was fabulous and a great day out. Each time we spend over 5h here. Thank you!

Brought our 1year 9 month ols Grandson here today. We all loved it. Friendly staff, lovely animals, soft play & outdoor park. Tractor rides & Barrel rides. Plenty to do for all ages. Next time we come we will do the full day.

We visited the farm while on holiday at the caravan park and WOW. Probably the highlight of the holiday for the kids. We had the best day. The staff were amazing and so good with the kids at the handling and feeding sessions. It was the most ‘hands on’ farm we’ve ever been to. Lots of cuddles and feeding. The parks & indoor play barn are also amazing. The barrel/tractor ride was a firm favourite! Excellent value for money. This farm has possibly swayed us to book crimdon dene again for a uk holiday.

Crimdon Dene Beach is a delightful destination that offers something for everyone, from families to dog lovers. The beach features a variety of landscapes, with sandy stretches near the golf club and rocky areas as you move towards the cliffs. Visitors can enjoy scenic walks along the shore while taking in beautiful sights and fresh air. There’s also a café nearby serving delicious food and coffee, making it an ideal spot to relax after some fun in the sun.
Being October and 15° with little wind, we wanted an evening walk. This is great for a walk at any time by the beach. Plenty of parking available up top when we went with easy access to the walkways that take you to the beach. The steps are step and wooden. We took a picnic and sat near the dunes, listening to the waves. The sky was amazing, and there were great views up and down the beach we shared with only half a dozen others.

Great beach and very different depending which part you go to. Very sandy down near the golf club and rocky as you head back towards the stepped area and cliffs. Dog loves running around. The usual lazy people's rubbish and poo bags but plenty of space for everyone.

Absolutely love this beach! Been coming here since I was a child, this was our family holiday destination. Still great to visit! Tall sand dunes, rocks and stones, sea glass, caves to explore! 👌🏻
Ilyroos — Google review
This is a lovely beach but the lack of poo bins mean people dump the bags. The solution is a carrier bag at each entrance to The beach. If you go, please take your rubbish to the bins in the car park and keep this gorgeous beach gorgeous x updated.... back there and there is a bag at each entrance for rubbish and poo bags. Well done to whoever did this. Update..... bags working well, visitors collecting plastic and leaving at these points. Great community spirit. Litter pick by the road overflow next job to tackle. Still a lovely beach. If you go, take a carrier and fill it with the plastic the tide brings in. Do your bit.

Suit Direct Stadium is a gem nestled in the heart of Hartlepool, making it an ideal spot for both locals and visitors. Its proximity to the town center and historic quays ensures that you can easily explore before or after catching a match. The atmosphere during games is electric, thanks to the passionate home support and their enthusiastic drummer, creating an unforgettable experience for fans. The stadium itself offers good facilities with friendly staff who enhance your visit.
By chance I decided to go to a match here and ever since I've had a soft spot for them the stadium might not be the best but the atmosphere it generates is unreal, the fans are very welcoming and are a great bunch one flaw though is the stewards they just don't do their job properly and don't seem to care but don't let it put you off, I used to laugh at people when they said go to a Hartlepool match you'll love it so I'm glad I bit the bullet I love Hartlepool and I love the ground and fans, if your ever in Hartlepool go to a match I promise you won't be disappointed UTP NSD
James L — Google review
quite easy to find , no away supporters parking when we visited but there are several on street disabled bays just up from the club shop and entrance . stewards were helpful when directing us to the away supporters entrance and turnstiles. once inside we had been allocated tickets in a closed off area of the ground ( pre-season match) but were soon redirected to a block in the corner of the ground - not ideal viewing , prefer to be nearer the centre line to watch the whole pitch. was not impressed with the stewards - we were told to sit in block j only , yet others from our supporters sat in better seats and no effort from the club to do anything. we had a steward stood in our line of vision the entire match, blocking our view of the away end and dugouts where our team was ( after the match our manager said he had no idea where we all were !) . we also had hartlepool fans in our block , who stood bottles of drink along the wall in front of us , again blocking our view. after travelling two and a half hours , the view was very disappointing - i wish we could have had the choice to sit where we wanted as it was only a preseason friendly . block j was probably the worst view in the entire ground and we felt isolated from our team - nowhere near them in warm ups nor able to see that part of the pitch. not a ground i'd want to return to especially with the poor attitude of the steward. we paid to watch a match, not him.

Standard league 2 ground .Good away end for noise but poor facilities and annoying jobsworth stewards. Good atmosphere from home fans, but ditch the drum.

Always a brilliant afternoon at Victoria Park! No matter the result The atmosphere supporting Hartlepool United is as vibrant electric, and it's clear. And let me tell you, they've got the refreshments spot on. The burgers are still top-notch – so tasty! The beers are perfectly refreshing, and this time I also tried the coffee, which was surprisingly good – a proper warm-up on a chilly day. Getting to the ground was straightforward too; it's well-signposted and easy to find. All in all, a fantastic experience from start to finish. Great football experience for an football fan , great food and drink, and easy access – what more could you ask for?
Ellis M — Google review
Very rude staff that worked in the food bar you don’t even get to keep your lid on your bottle off pop which makes it difficult to carry everything I asked if I could keep the lid on she abruptly said no they don’t give you lids are your ground it wasn’t a issue to me if it was healthy and safety the point of this review was to show Middlesbrough ground does provide bottle lids 👍 toilets where awful no lights working no hand dryer working water and tissue all over the floor and toilets didn’t flush very badly organised place
Hannah J — Google review
Dire food, plastic chips, two grumpy women serving that have no customer skills! Nice ground, sound travels well, great home fans and decent effort put in by a small group of younger fans to get behind their team. Good luck next season

A team who deserves to be on a higher league. Location is perfect. Near the town center and the historic quays and public transport is also near by. If you have a day out in Hartlepool try to go to the match the atmosphere is always great and well worth the money.

First visit to Hartlepool United's ground. First time I've been frisked by security staff anywhere! Is this standard practise for away fans or is there some history between Hartlepool and Gateshead I'm not aware of? Food was good at half time but the queue was massive.

Morrisons Cafe is a delightful stop for travelers, especially those heading to Scotland. After a night at the Travelodge, I found this charming cafe to be the perfect spot for breakfast. The menu offers a variety of options, including the "Over 60's" breakfast that was just right to kickstart my day. The coffee here is exceptional, with free refills on both hot and cold drinks—a real treat!
Just a quick "thank you" to the staff here as we arrived for breakfast after leaving our hotel (Travelodge) and heading for Scotland. The food is good and the coffee excellent and refills free - we chose the "Over 60's" breakfast which was perfect for the start to the day. Thank you for providing a nice place to park, eat breakfast, and have a cup or two of coffee to get us on our way.

Always something wrong with the order. We got a gift card for an experience we had where we waited an hour and a half for food and when it came it looked like it had been sat for the whole time we waited, was vile so we refused it. Went back with the gift card. 2 kids meals had something wrong on them and mine was missing something

I do like the food here, but half the stuff you have to get from the counter (drinks, cakes etc) aren’t there, and often enough there’s no staff there to talk to either. I always end up grabbing other things instead. I can acknowledge that it’s not great quality and to be honest the staff can be quite blunt and rude. Last time I went I had to substitute all my snacks and cold drinks, my sweet potato fries were burnt and when my mam accidentally took a sauce off the waiter’s plate she was really rude when she asked for it back. Could do with more polite service from staff, food could definitely be made to a higher standard.

If you're in the area and craving some delicious fish and chips, look no further than Cod On The Rocks. This local gem is a must-visit for anyone staying nearby, especially if you want to avoid disappointing options like those at Camden's onsite fish and chip shop. With generous portions that are sure to satisfy your appetite, you'll find that even sharing a meal can leave you with leftovers!
Good quality fish and chips … Quick service with reasonable price … Only 2 outdoor tables available to sit but most people just do take away and eat in the car …

Staying on a nearby caravan site and had read about this place online, we wanted to try a parmo as we have never had one. Ordered online and it said collect in 25mins, arrived and it was all ready, the lady serving asked if we had ordered one each and laughed when I said yes 🤣🤣 I hadn't realised they would be so big. They were HUGE and also came with a HUGE bag of proper chips (each) salad and sauce with each one. Can honestly say it was worth the drive up to the caravan site, just to go out and get these. Everything was spot on, I had the bolognese and my partner had fiery mushroom. Absolutely spot on. Thanks so much

We were staying at Crimdon Dene Caravan Park and drove past at lunchtime. We ordered a fish and chips and code bites and chips came to about £20 and was cooked to order. They do not have a card machine neither have to scan a QR code and put card details in online. Staff were not very friendly neither. Though, the portion size was humongous and would definitely have fed 4 people. However, the food was not up to standard and was very greasy. We didn't eat much of it due to being so greasy, my partner is not usually fussy but didn't finish the fish and the grease from the batter went onto the chips and spoiled those too. So yes, price and portion good but wouldn't return or recommend as wasn't impressed.

Disappointed in the quality and standard of food from the cod on the rocks as I found a hair in my fish and the chips were so greasy to the point where I couldn’t eat them with my hands. I noticed that the staff were unfriendly and quite rude. I would not recommend very disappointed.

Visited while staying at Crimdon Dene caravan park. Well presented shop with parking outside. Staff weren’t particularly welcoming or friendly. Fish was freshly cooked but the batter was soggy and greasy. Portions were generous, but wrapping could have been better as we only drove 5 mins back with it and lots of batter peeled off the fish and chips stuck to the paper as we opened them. Curry was nice and mushy peas were good. Scraps were forgotten from our order and way too much salt. Not in a hurry to return.
Kia C — Google review
Visited today for a cheaper fish and chip dinner compared to the one available on crimdon dene caravan park. Very reasonably priced compared to the one on site and had lots of variety on the menu from fish and chips to kebabs and pizzas. Food was hot and fresh and of good quality however the customer service is severely lacking, the female staff member that served seemed to struggle to understand us and seemed like she wasn't with it. Even the manager wasn't exactly friendly but at least she understood us and finished taking our orders. Worth a visit but don't expect a smile.

If you are staying at Camden done site, forget their onsite fishnchippy. It has old oil and fish over cooked. Go to cod on the rocks. Superb fish but chip portions are enormous. Large... we ate not even half between the two of us. Order fish separately wrapped and then chips. On camp £31.00 Shop £21 Hope this helps.

The Raby Arms - Village Pub and Kitchen is a local favorite, known for its excellent service and great food. Visitors from various regions have been impressed by the building itself, the quality of the food, and the outstanding service provided by Marten, Anna & Lisa. The pub offers a selection of beers including Staropramen, which has been well-received despite some disappointment over the removal of Moretti.
Called in for a late lunch, warm welcome. The menu choices were fantastic, had a lamb tandoori curry from the specials menu, absolutely superb 👌, two pints of lager and I was done. Will definitely be back soon.

Went on a Sunday about 4pm. Atmosphere was great, very busy outside due to the weather been nice which didn't effect the service at all. Good sized play area outside for children maybe over the age of 5 / 6. Alternatively, children younger would need constant adult supervision / help getting around. Food - Was good, as you can see in the photo we got 3 small plates + Pizza. The salt & pepper Chicken was very salty which did hinder the rest of the small and made you drink more due to the salt > which then filled you up quicker. The pizza was tasty (hot shot) but I could tell it had been waiting on the side a little while due to it been hot, it was warm enough to eat but I had to eat it first, then unfortunately went cold once we were half way through. The other two plates we got was Homemade Natchos which were lovely, not The Raby Arms fault, as any place this happens but slightly soggy on the bottom but Natchos were very tasty with the given dips. The next plate we got was Loaded Beef Brisket Fries... these were gorgeous with cheese loaded on top. Very tasty and beef wasn't too fatty like I've had in other places. Again, not the Rabys fault but chips at the bottom went wet / soggy due to beef juices so unable to fully finish. The deserts: Sticky toffee pudding + Triple Choc Brownie. The pudding did originally come with Custard but when we asked for it to be changed to Ice cream, they were happy to do this (as well as adding an extra scoop at our request) The chocolate brownie was very tasty and moist inside, my only negative with it was it came with chocolate ice cream which made it too sickly as it was a triple chocolate brownie. If I was to go back, I would request for vanilla rather than chocolate with the desert. Ice cream was nice. They gave us boxes to take the pizza home with. In total with 2 beers and 1 Pepsi it came to £58 for two people on a Sunday. Overall I would return, but would bare the above in mind. Like I mentioned we attended on a Sunday so the menu was limited but I would definitely like to return mid week to their full menu to check it out. As always, my reviews are genuine, fair and honest. Thankyou.

Went for the Sunday Roast...had the Beef dinner, it was lovely and very tasty. Got plenty of beef and a extra side of pigs in blankets. The food came out within 10 minutes of ordering... before the drinks even came. Took photos of the duo meat dinner as we went back again a few weeks later. Probably the best Sunday dinner I've had in a long time.

We had a Sunday lunch at the Ruby Arms during our weekend away at Seaham. The pub has a good-sized car park, beer garden and a children's outdoor enclosed play area. The service was excellent, and the food was the same. No long wait for the food to arrive and when it did were impressed. A good size portion really well presented and the taste and flavours were simply gorgeous. Really impressed with the food this was not a pile it high cheap carvery. This was proper pub food at its best. Probably the best Sunday lunch we have ever eaten.

Food was very good I was pleasantly surprised it was a good find. Parmo was lovely and my partner enjoyed hers. It was busy and quite loud which isn’t to my preference so will try to make it a less busy time on my next visit.

We are working close to this place and we go every day for lunch. Good service, good menu, good products and good kitchen, at a reasonable price, what else? They even have a playground area for children, so, you can taste good food and watch out your children while playing around.

Lovely place with a varied menu that caters to a number of dietary needs. Tried the smoked haddock fishcake and it was very very good as was the vegan biscoff cheesecake. Plenty of different seating locations and very friendly and helpful staff.

Was met with a warm and welcoming smile and given a coffee or breakfast option before being seated, free choice of seating as was quiet, very disabled friendly and fully accessible could do with a few more disabled parking spaces but on the whole very happy with my food and experience. I ordered eggs on flat cap mushrooms as I don't eat pork so was a nice to see a vegetarian option to eggs benedict.
