City park
Zoos & Aquariums
Zoo
Parque Municipal Prudencio Navarro is a city park located in Ayamonte, Andalusia. Currently undergoing remodeling, the park offers a pleasant outdoor experience with a gazebo and café open beside the river. It features various plant species and provides a clean and well-located green space for relaxation. Visitors can enjoy a leisurely nap or snack in this free park while observing rescued animals from the zoo.
Great free park and has animals that were savd fro the zoo
David L — Google review
No animals in cages, renovated time or just dead park , very sadly
S.G N — Google review
There are abandoned dogs inside the "zoo". We asked in the office and there were just excuses, the park is not maintained at all. A pity, the location and design is quite good. Also all the doors but one were closed.
Capitanscott — Google review
DON’T GO! THE PARK IS ABANDONED. THERE IS NO ANIMALS. ❗️
Luana S — Google review
To go from feeling wonderfully content and happy to be in such a beautiful town, to moments later being truly disturbed by the lifeless animals pacing up and down with glazed looks in their eyes due to sheer boredom. I 100% agree with rescuing endangered species but too keep a tiger on its own in a tiny, grassless and baron enclosure seems to be the opposite of letting the animal live on in a protected environment. How for a moment this is happening is beyond me, when across the world there are so many wonderful places where the animals have a great deal of enjoyment and stimulation.
Kate W — Google review
Great little place considering it is free but some parts were being reconstructed so no lions this time. I would agree that the animals do look a bit cramped and a bit sad. I think it would be better to have less animals and more space for them.
Eleanor P — Google review
A bit run down but you see some great animals for free
MrCrazedjay — Google review
If you want to show your kids how animals die, this is the place to go! It's deplorable. Bored animals locked up in too small cages. The infrastructure is completely run down and the guard totally unfriendly. The city of Ayamonte should stop this immediately!

Historical landmark
Plaza de la Coronación is a charming square in the city, featuring a beautiful hexagonal fountain adorned with Andalusian scenes and figures on its tiles. The square offers various bars and restaurants where visitors can unwind and observe the surroundings. Additionally, it serves as an entry point to Paseo de la Ribera, a scenic promenade along the Guadiana shoreline leading to Ayamontes marina.
Just a great little plaza to sit. Bars and restaurants on three sides, lovely tiled shady seats, busy in the evening with kids playing..
Jim M — Google review
Visited while on holiday. Pleasant but nothing really outstanding. Sat outside restaurant, ordered coffees & though the place wasn't busy, took a long time to get served. Also harasses by street beggars, but this is common in many places. Overall, it was an experience.

(Translated by Google) The theater is beautiful but they didn't turn on the air conditioning to see the play we went to see: The Lion King. It was terribly hot and instead of postponing the work until the air conditioning was repaired, if that was the problem, I don't know, they told the company to move forward with the work. On the verge of lipothymia, this could not be endured and evidently the work could not be enjoyed. I don't know if it was a fault or they just didn't turn on the air conditioning. A shame because the theater is tiny, very cute and very cozy.

They should renovate it, I don't know how not to They take this issue seriously and play with people's health, until something happens...God forbid!! Centro Cultural Casa Grande is an 18th-century mansion in Ayamonte that hosts a variety of cultural activities and exhibitions. The building features a jar room, a patio filled with plants, and steep stairs. It houses a library and exhibition halls for local art, including paintings and photographs. The center also holds a permanent collection of artworks and organizes cultural events.
I visited the ‘ homenajea los ‘100 años de Sorolla en Ayamonte’ at & around the casa grande. Beautifull painting & a cosy ambiance. I especially like to point out the young talented local painter from Ayamonte Miguel Ángel Domínguez Gil, for sure we will hear more from him.

A very interesting building housing the library and exhibition halls for paintings and art. Photos and paintings and other art is exhibited here by locals... I have been fortunate to have had my photos exhibit here with my fellow photographers of Ayamonte Huelva and Tavira. A gem that is usually missed by tourists and locals. Wonderful building

(Translated by Google) This cultural center is of breathtaking beauty... It has eternal value; housed in a truly beautiful old building, bright patio, beautifully decorated, beautiful entrance, interesting exhibition, free... Yes, these kinds of places have attracted me from an early age. I must have had Spanish ancestors, I feel so much at home in those kinds of places, much more than in the Netherlands, the area where I grew up. Dear people, if you are reading this and you live in the area, please go and visit now. Even if you don't like art at all, I'm not an expert in that field at all, not really. Just step inside: whoever or whatever you think you are; it does something to you, grab that opportunity! ;) On Palma de Mallorca, as a teenager in the 1960s, I saw the Roman baths there in the capital. The man-sized earthenware vases visible under glass and standing upright under the floor reminded me of that. The wonderful silence and that typical smell that hangs in such an environment, it makes you reflect on your own existence and that is always useful. I also like the contrast between 'the beauty and comfort' of art with the rushing noisy and smelly traffic, once outside again. After all, you can't have one without the other, so visit! Even if you live there! Especially then...

(Translated by Google) It is a beautiful place, but it has very little maintenance, it looks abandoned, it should be painted because there are many areas with moisture and chips in the paint, and it is a shame because the place deserves to be visited. It has many paintings that I honestly believe that those who manage it do not have much idea of art, they are hanging on the walls but without any care and for me to understand without even knowing the value they could have. I think that the municipal authorities should review this place and carry out a complete restoration of it, create an authentic house of culture intended for the same purpose for culture and think that this represents an investment in maintenance to take care of everyone's heritage. It's a shame that it's not taken care of as it deserves.

Catholic church
Capilla de San Antonio, originally a hermitage located on the outskirts of the town, was founded in the 16th century by the sailors' guild. The wood used in its construction is believed to be from a tropical tree. Despite being open only on Tuesdays, it's worth visiting for its historical significance and beautiful interior with chapels and statues. It holds great value as a historical heritage and efforts should be made to preserve and restore it.
Beautiful church, finally managed to see inside. It's a sad fact that so many of the churches are closed during the day. We first visited this church over 30 years ago and then again 4 years ago. If you do get a chance to look at the inside and the wonderful chapels and statues, you won't be disappointed.

During an extraordinary January lunchtime, the amiable staff and delectable cuisine in cozy surroundings were highly appreciated. I have also frequented this eatery during bustling high summer, with no variation in quality. The food is truly exceptional; I would strongly recommend trying the "rabo de touro" (oxtail) and the "ensalada de tomato" (tomato salad). The prices are quite reasonable.
Very nice anchovies (baquerones frotos). Good sangria

Well worth visiting. Great garlicky dish of small clams (coquinas) eaten inside. We returned later as Margallo was not open (due to an accident a sign said and graffiti alongside emphasised 'we're not joking'! And this time had chocos, ensaladilla rusa y tortillitas de camarones. All eaten al fresco. 4 expats were having a booze up. And a marooned deaf very tall and elderly Englishman with a public school accent previously seen descending from a Portuguese car was still going at the Spanish red. Bizum payments accepted.

After waiting quite a while to get a menu, the service was really good - quick and friendly. Of the four dishes we ordered, one was very good, one was unavailable, and two were awful. In particular, the roasted peppers with tuna was really tasty, they didn't have gazpacho, the salmorejo was arguably the worst my wife has had living in Spain for 15 years, and the fried calamari plus the accompanying fried potatoes were limp and flavorless. I almost took off a star from the service category when the waitress brought us a check with 18€ of charges for things we didn't order.

One of the best restaurants in the area. Service, atmosphere and decor have been given extra attention to provide a fantastic experience to compliment a wonderful menu. The food is fresh, well presented and offers both traditional local options and and international dishes for all the family. My rib eye steak was cooked to perfection, medium rare with so much flavour. The cod loin also very tasty, and the tapas options were vey generous and cooked perfectly. Kids enjoyed the pasta dishes and the desserts (Apple pies/ chocolate brownies) capped off an all round excellent night. Great value for the quality of the food and service. Graham, the owner has done a great job and fills the place up with locals and tourists - well dine.

We went there with our family(4 adults & 2 kids) . Met by a very kind gentleman (from Manchester England) at the door.Chatted with him about the menu as needed Gluten Free for 1 adult & 1 -10 year old in our party. He was extremely helpful & explained the menu-making us feel safe about staying & eating there. We ordered drinks-asked for white wine suggestions-he brought us two different kinds and both were good. Ordered food-all was absolutely delicious as was the service from all the staff working-definetly worked as a team! If you get the chance go there-you won't be disappointed! PS.My10 yr old grandson said the Gluten free wings were delicious and ate every morsel of them👍

Perfect meal. The food is some of the best we have ever had in Ayamonte and the surrounding areas. I had the pork shoulder which was amazing and my wife had prawn linguine which she said was her favourite of the holiday. The children had spaghetti bolognaise which looked great too. Can’t fault the food or the service. The owner was very nice and friendly as well. All in all, this restaurant is a must try when visiting Ayamonte.

Spanish restaurant
Nestled just a short stroll from the heart of Ayamonte, Meson El Choco is a delightful spot for those craving authentic Spanish cuisine. This charming eatery specializes in fresh seafood and offers an extensive menu that caters to various tastes. Guests can indulge in perfectly cooked fish and shellfish, with highlights including succulent prawns and expertly fried calamari. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it perfect for families or couples looking for a cozy dining experience away from the hustle and bustle.
The fried anchovies are amazing. We had wine recommended by the waiters, which was superb. Paella for 4 and fish soup.

We had clams, they were delicious, Huelva big prawns also for starter and next we had mero deep sea fish. Again delicious. Nice sweet desserts, we tried a couple and a local white suggested by the waiter. Great wine. In the the price, a nice surprise. Certainly affordable for a great experience. Location is great, near private parking and the Guadiana river with views over Castro Marim and VR St Antonio on the Portuguese side. I very much recommend this restaurant.

Had lunch here, we were 3. We had entrecot, calamares fritos and ventresca. All dishes were really good, especially for the low price and deserves the 5 starts. The service was fast, we managed to eat in just 1h considering the restaurant was full, is big and with a waiting list, so the staff and kitchen manage to handle the high speed of the place. However, the staff weren't much friendly and it is understandable considering the high pace. It was very windy outside so we started to feel cold even with 35° and that is why it gets only 4 stars.

Good location, by the river. Delicious food, with a a lot of options and fair price Favorites: albondigas de choco, puntillitas, croquetas de jamón. Tapas at 3€. We were 3 people, ended up ordering too much food (because we thought the portions would be smaller) and it was still 20€ per person

We came here during the week for lunch . We arrived at 12:30 no problema sitting . The service was very attentive. I speak Spanish, but also most of the menu is in English . We eat the choco frito , was ok . Sangria was very nice . They have free wi fi . Lots of parking around also .

Delicious food. Had the jamón croquettes which were nice apparently. Then tuna belly and chipirones. Tuna was tasty and moist but the chipirones were the best thing Ever!!! Amazing. Small and tender with a lot of taste. Maybe a tad bit too much oil but so tasty. Great little alleyway with atmosphere and inside very old and stylish.

What is most striking about this establishment is the excellent, personable service despite the relaxing and comfortable atmosphere. The location and outside seating is pleasant and very convenient. The dishes are pretty great and prices are a little above "fair." This is an excellent choice for good, inexpensive fare in a restaurant frequented by locals and knowledgeable tourists.

Go to place for locals and visitors. It has go down in food quality and service. Last time they forgot our order and kept up waiting 1h until they realized it.

Pizza restaurant
Trattoria Siena is a delightful culinary find nestled along a vibrant street in Southern Spain, just a short drive from Portugal. This charming eatery offers an impressive selection of pizzas that have garnered rave reviews from visitors, with many claiming it's the best they've tasted during their travels across Europe. The atmosphere is lively and inviting, especially at night when the nearby square and fountains create a picturesque backdrop.
The food is carefully prepared and you can tell. Tastes amazing and very well priced - highly recommended

Place short of staff, could see them running all over the place struggling to manage the customers orders. Stressful and noisy atmosphere. Pizza wasn’t good quality. Also ordered spaghetti carbonara and the sauce was the same as you buy ready in supermarkets. Spaghettis were floating on the sauce…. At least the garlic bread was pretty good.

Loved this place. Drove across the border from Portugal for a day in Southern Spain. This little gem is placed along a lively street. The best pizza I have had on my europe trip in 2018. The server was very friendly and she was always making g sure that all the customers were looked after. Great prices, fabulous and tasty food,. Nice cold beer and many smiles. Keep up the good work guys. Well done.

Great place. Went there with my wife, 3 year and 1 year old. Wide selection of Pizza, very tasty. Spinach and ricotta cannelloni was amazing. Staff were super friendly and even though a birthday party was taking place in the marquee outside, they still managed to bring all food to us very quickly. Highly recommended!! 👌👍👍👍

Great pizza. Delicious. Very good food and good prices. Plus the terrace is very well placed, with charming, specially at night with the square and fountains.

The service was good but concerning the quality of the pizza.... I didn't like it that much because it was a completely normal taste.
