Broadway Tower, also known as Beacon or Fish Inn Tower, is a historic folly standing 65ft high atop a hill overlooking the village. Built in the late 18th century by the sixth Earl of Coventry's family, it was a retreat for William Morris and offers stunning views of up to 14 counties on clear days.
I have seen Broadway Tower from a distance many times, but never been inside and up to the top. I decided to do something about it so went in April this year. I went on a nice sunny week (school) day so it wasn't too busy. Wouldn't like to say how busy it may get at peak times? Well worth it, as I found it very interesting. Some stunning views to be had by going outside at the top. You can see for miles in all directions. Interesting layout in each of the rooms inside. Bet is was great to dine in the Tower. There is a nearby shop, toilets and café/restaurant and car parking. Can't quite remember how much it was, but can remember it's not that cheap. Not too far away are other attractions you can visit. There is a nuclear bunker, and the Lavender Fields at Snowshill. Can make for a great day out, with these attractions all in close proximity to each other.

This is a picturesque and historic attraction nestled in the Cotswolds. Built in the late 18th century, this iconic folly sits atop one of the highest points in the region, offering breathtaking views that stretch across multiple counties on a clear day. We arrived after closing time after 5pm. So, we parked just on the side road close to the entrance without needing to pay. I would say :narrow road nearer to the tower to drive. Didn't go in the tower but the views are worth the hike. Great shop and cafe. There is a pay park at the top during opening time. Not recommended for disabled access as there's a moderately steep hill & a good 10-15 minute walk. Lovely views over the countryside when you get there though & the Tower is majestic when you come to it. As it's quite small, you do have to wait for others to come so we didn't go inside on our visit. It's £5 to park, £14 per adult to go up the tower and £12 for the nuclear bunker experience. Views from the hill outside the tower however are free and spectacular, Visitors can explore its small but informative museum, enjoy peaceful walks through the surrounding country park, and even tour a Cold War-era bunker nearby.
Stephen T — Google review
An impressive landmark with great views but massively overpriced. We paid £3 to park and a further £4 each to access the “grounds” as we couldn’t justify an extra £10 each to go inside the tower. The grounds themselves were nothing special with no clear signposting or information boards, so even that felt like £8 wasted. There are also two car parks, two cafes and a clothes shop for some reason. I’d advise trying to park close to the entrance, where parking appeared to be free, and taking in the views from there. Walking to the tower is also a good option if time and mobility/fitness allows.
Adam P — Google review
Amazing experience! We booked tickets in advance and got to the tower early, before opening, to walk around and enjoy the view. Our tickets also included touring the WW II bunker located on the property nearby.
Laurie K — Google review
Lovely walk up to the tower. Lovely view of the countryside. Deer park with a stag and lots of does. Plenty of benches on the way up. But I didn't go into the tower as £14 entry!
Michael F — Google review
The Tower is a beautiful landmark, nearby there is a nice café with a second one just further down in construction nearly finished. On a nice day You can enjoy the panorama and is perfect for a nice walk. Near the tower there are some red deers. The 14£ to go on top of the tower a bit overpriced to my opinion, considering the £5 for parking. Also the Nuclear bunker is interesting but I am not sure if there is an extra charge for that one as well.
Christian — Google review
We went on a rather cold, windy day but the 360 degree views were still very impressive. The rooms inside the tower are cosy and elegantly decorated. There are lots of opportunities for walking in land around the tower. It's one of the few places we saw sheep in the Cotswolds, and red deer. Nice place for a day out.
KCW M — Google review
Always a lovely visit to Broadway Tower 😁😍💕 went with the family this time, and had afternoon tea at the cafe area for a birthday celebration. It was busy as it was in August on a Saturday in the summer holidays while the kids were off. Very nice place! Afternoon tea very good. Staff were nice.

The National Trust - Market Hall in Chipping Campden is a historic gem built in 1627 by Sir Baptist Hicks. It was originally constructed to provide shelter for market traders selling goods like butter, eggs, and poultry. The cobbled stone flooring bears the marks of centuries of foot traffic. Interestingly, the Market Hall narrowly escaped being sold and moved to America in the 1940s.
A lovely, lively town, full of character. It has beautiful, traditional stone buildings, and the streets are lined with quaint shops, cafes, and pubs. There’s a lot of history here, with a lovely church and old market place. It's a great place to explore, with plenty of places to stop and enjoy the local food. Chipping Camden feels a little busier than Snowshill, but it still has a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. It’s perfect for people who like a mix of history, shopping, and outdoor beauty.
Nivedha S — Google review
Is a lovely and well maintained building in the center of town. When we were there, a local market was running here with about 8-10 stalls. However, it’s a site that takes less than 5 minutes to see, and we didn’t feel was the highlight of our time in The Cotswolds or reason to go to Chipping Camden. I mean, if you are in the town, then walk by, but of all the things we saw on our road trip, this specific site was definitely over rated.
Alyssa B — Google review
Lovely little village but not much to do for children so very touristy as you'd expect - because that is the reason anyone comes here.
Michal B — Google review
On Sunday there are some stalls selling printings, weaving goods, antiques and glasses. We didn’t buy anything just a quick walk around for 10mins, the structure js stunning with authentic details, the uneven rock floors are very interesting.
Serena L — Google review
Five stars for longevity since constructed in 1627, for being the centre of Chipping Campden (CC) & National Trust historical landmark with timed car parking on one side. Built to provide shelter for traders then & still used as market on certain days. Cobbled floor is very uneven & there are gaps in the roof tiles as it probably was in its original state. More on CC village: loved its unaltered exterior of buildings on High Street since 14th century & the period buildings throughout the whole village. Oldest Grevel House built in 1380 is just a bit further from this Market Hall (at north end). Less touristy & without the huge coaches, it was relatively peaceful during my four day stay here in a nice cottage close to this Market Hall in Sept 2024. CC has olde world charm with coaching inns (now pubs & accom), Guild Craft workshops where you can buy hand crafted jewellery, medieval Church, Almshouses, thatched roof cottages with cloud hedges & much more... The village is a delight to wander around & walk the Cotswold Way - directions signposted & there is one beside this Market Hall.

A national trust property and still in use today. It was great to see that villagers still use this market hall as a market. When we visited there was a couple of stalls open and we stopped for a little look around before we set off on our walk to Broadway.

A lovely historic building, inside the floor is uneven with the cobbled floor being worn over the centuries. It was lovely to look up and see the rafters and plaques on the wall giving information.

The Bantam Tea Rooms & Guest House is a charming spot in Chipping Campden, featuring a traditional English feel with its honey-colored Cotswold stone building. The top level offers plenty of seating and a cozy atmosphere. While there are steps at the entrance, there's a grab rail for assistance. It's an ideal place to start the day with a hot cup of coffee and delicious tea cakes.
I stayed here for 3 nights in Room 3 which is a single and small but is lovely and has everything you could need. Nice and cool in the hot weather. Great location, a bonus to have parking, and the breakfasts were nice and quick (I was always in a hurry!). The staff were especially great - thank you for a great stay! (Oh and the cakes are amazing too 😊)

Food was good and the service was nice and friendly. BUT. The place was full of wasps, inside and outdoors. Maybe it’s seasonal but we then saw a hive in their garden, right in front of some outdoor dining tables. We saw other people moving tables trying to avoid the wasps, just like us. We had to finish the food quickly and take the coffee and deserts away. Very nice place with an unnecessary complication.

Amazing tea in Chipping Campden! We arrived after a walk and were awed by the scones, cakes, and drinks served by friendly and attentive staff. We sat out back in sight of the seventeenth-century guildhall. Couldn’t ask for a more picturesque experience with memorable delicious baked treats and fine tea.

We stopped here for a cream tea, and it was absolutely delightful! The staff were very friendly and welcoming, creating such a lovely, relaxed atmosphere. The scones were exceptional, freshly baked, perfectly fluffy on the inside, and served with delicious clotted cream and jam. Honestly, they were some of the best scones I’ve ever had! The tea was nicely brewed and complemented the scones beautifully. Overall, a charming spot with great service and wonderful treats. I’d definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in the area! On a side note, the staff member we spoke to mentioned he’s expecting his first child, such lovely news, and we wish him all the best!

Beautiful tea rooms in the heart of Chipping Campden. We had a full English breakfast which was delicious and really good value for money. Service was spot on - really friendly and welcoming staff. We’ll definitely be back to try homemade cake (which look amazing!!)

A little disclaimer to other travelers who are used to good service and fair prices: - it took the staff 5 minutes to just clean out table and we had to ask them for wiping our table and it was dirty like hell - you have to order at the front door and the staff ignores you completly when you do hand signs without any explanation. Therefore it took loads of minutes till we figured out how things work in there - the vegetarian breakfast wasnt enough to feel well fed. when ordering more toast be prepared to get robbed: one plain toast costs 2 pounds on top of 12,50 pounds per meal already. and for that the meal was plain, boring and not even well presented. so a quite underwhelming experience - the staff wasnt quite welcoming and seemes very stressed even tough they had a lot of personnel running around. maybe they should consider restructuring their way to work: you are not efficient when carrying one pot of coffee at a time... - the boss of the restaurant was nice tho. she wiped the dirty table when her staff failed to do so ✨ So in a nutshell: Better spend your money on something else- this breakfast wasn't worth it all. The location is nice and thats it. Very disappointing.
RIORDIAN — Google review
Went twice during a weekend visit - coffee is ok but it’s worth going just to watch the chaos in the shop. It’s like being part of Fawlty Towers - the organisation is terrible. First time we were shown to a table but no one took our order until we went to the till. Second visit we were given menus by the door and just left being told to look through- then the next staff member came up to say why didn’t you go to a free table? It’s comical

Superb all round. Stayed two nights in the middle of this idyllic town in the little cabin rooms out at the back of the café. Rooms clean and well appointed. Breakfast very good and always popular. Service was warm and friendly.

Da Luigi Bistro, an enchanting Italian eatery with delightful cuisine and friendly personnel, offers a small and cozy ambiance. The restaurant warmly accommodates families, even those with energetic young children, who can freely explore the premises without any fuss from Raffaele and his kind team. The overall experience is faultless, from the delectable range of dishes like their house wine, borata, two pasta choices, mussels, and tiramisu to the exquisite décor.
Wow! So nice to find authentic Italian cooking. Had the scallops for starters & the seafood linguine for a main course and both were delicious. The seafood linguini was perfectly 'al dente' & wasn't drowned in tomato sauce but rather just the right amount of fresh tomato and garlic so that you can taste al the flavours. Plus got to try the mussels too which were also delicious! Would highly recommend!

We had a wonderful experience at Da Luigi Bistro! Our group was quite large and arrived last minute, but Rafael, the manager, and his team welcomed us warmly and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Their professionalism and kindness really stood out. The food was authentic Italian and absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and prepared with care. From start to finish, the service was smooth and attentive, making us feel right at home. If you’re looking for genuine Italian cuisine paired with outstanding hospitality, I highly recommend Da Luigi Bistro. We’ll definitely be back!

Da Luigi Bistro is magnifico! The moment you walk in, it feels like la famiglia. Every bite tastes homemade — fatto con amore. The pasta was perfectly cooked, the sauces bursting with fresh flavors, and the desserts? Delizioso! You can truly taste the passion in every dish. Authentic Italian in Chipping Campden!

My wife and I, my sister and my brother in law turned up at Da Luigi on Saturday night. Rafaelle told us he could get us in if we waited, and he did. What an utterly charming man. It was very busy but the staff were ralaxed and very attentive. The food for all of us was superb. I ve travelled to Italy a few times and so has my sister. We agreed that the food served here was right up there with food I ve eaten in Verona, Venice and Abruzzo. I could have kissed the chef I was so happy. It was that good, after staying the night in Chipping Campden we have just gone back there for Sunday lunch. We didn't want to leave. Hands down this is the best Italian eatery I ve eaten in, in the UK and even better than some in Italy. Its a beautiful clean, classy restaurant. Rafaelle and all the staff are a total credit to Da Luigi. We live an hours drive away but we can't wait to get back. Ps, the wife decided to treat me to lunch again. We just came back (11.10,25) it was wonderful again.

Wonderful staff. We walked in at ~5:45pm and they found a table for us. The pasta was good - well cooked. The arancini and panacotta were particularly good. It's a popular place, you need reservations unless you are dining early like we did.
Michael B — Google review
I’ve just been for dinner, food was ok but I wasn’t impressed (had pollo bbq pizza and couldn’t taste much more than the bbq sauce), maybe was expecting too much… pizza was a bit bland in my opinion, maybe should try a different one or a different meal, lovely staff/service. I’ll probably go back but no rush.
Anev — Google review
The food was incredibly delicious and fresh. We had the seafood linguine and lasagne, and mozarella foccacia. Service was great as well, everyone being super friendly and helpful!
Ileana L — Google review
For me this is exactly as I expected. Is it haute cuisine? No. Is it good? Yes! Great portions, good dishes, excellent and fast service. Is it noisy? Yes. Is that a problem? No. This is what you expect from a restaurant that has a good reputation and serves at least two seatings a night. It is a little crowded m, but again, it is an very good italian restaurant that offers great value for money, helpfull staff and an owner/ maitre that is in control, very welcoming and friendly. For me what makes a restaurant great is the combination of food, service and atmosphere and as I started for this restaurant it is all spot on!! Dont forget to book/ make reservations in advance. Thanks to the staff for two Great evenings and the owner for the wonderfull grappa’s, you know what I mean :). Were visiting from Belgium and will be back again.

National Trust - Dover's Hill is a 184-acre green space located near Chipping Campden in the Cotswolds. It stands at 230m above sea level, offering stunning views of the rolling countryside and the Vale of Evesham. The hill is famous for hosting the annual Cotswold Olimpicks, a traditional event dating back to 1612 that features activities like Morris dancing, tug-of-war, and shin-kicking.
Walked up here from Chipping Campden after visiting St James Church, to the edge of the village, up gated fields & joined Cotswold Way to get up here - my 1st taste of English countryside. Easier way will be to drive up here - free parking, though space is rather limited. A large location pointer indicates direction to faraway places like Stratford-upon-Avon, Birmingham etc. On a clear day, you can see forever but on 15 Sept last month - visibility was a tad hazy in the distance. Windy, tranquil with loads of sheep poo underfoot. Loved the views, serenity & the branded sheep!

Lovely view’s and great place to walk the dogs or take the kids to fly a kite.. if you have the just park app.. I would get your ticket before you go as signal isn’t the best in the car park 😬

Lovely walk - you can walk up from Chipping Campden or park at the top.(It's a National Trust car park and is £3 for anything over 1 hour. Signal is difficult at the top so not easy as you have to download the app and login!) We prefer to park for free at in Chipping Campden (Back Ends car park) and walk up. Beautiful views so definitely worth it! Quite steep in parts.

Lots of sheep you can see, near or far away. Good view. Easy to park too. There are a few benches where you could rest or have a snack. 30mins is enough.

Nice scenic view point by carpark thats great for a relaxing sit, chat and take in the views. Lovely walk down the hill along the side of some woodland with the option of going into the woodland at the bottom before returning back. Great for an evening or weekend family walk or dogwalkers

Lovely place. National Trust car park 5 mins flat walk to the view point. Great walk following the path round through the woods, not too strenuous. What a surprise when we got back to the top, The Cambridge Morris men. 😱

Probably more staid on a normal day, but as hosts for the Cotswolds Olympicks. It was awesome!

A lovely spot, fabulous views, but...there are now Justpark signs dotted around, and digital payment for parking will be brought in. I tried to download the app and register my National Trust card, but the signal there is poor, so was unable to do so. We left after 10 minutes without leaving the car park, for fear of getting a fine. What a faff just for a spontaneous walk. 5 stars for the natural beauty of the place, one deducted for not being able to get out and enjoy it.

We were on a bus tour through the Cotswold and our first stop of the day was Chipping Campden. Our bus driver recommended the sausage rolls and coffee and said they were his favourite. And to top it all, very nice and welcoming staff.

Great value, fresh homemade flavors. We stoped by for lunch and enjoyed some salad boxes, each comes with an entree and up to four salads. Ample options for vegetarians. Outdoor seating or you can eat your food on the go. Not many places are open at lunch in Chippingcampden, so this was a pleasant discovery. Shows up as a shopping location rather than restaurant in google maps, so it didn’t show up on our search for “places to eat”. Hopefully there’s a way to double-categorize a place, so more travelers can enjoy this!

Located in Chipping Campden, Maharaja Indian Cuisine is a top choice for those craving classic Indian dishes with a twist. The restaurant offers a diverse menu with unique options that are sure to tantalize your taste buds. The friendly and knowledgeable staff provide excellent service, ensuring that every guest's needs are met. Excellent seafood curry. We were originally offered Indian fair from our hotel, but their menu seemed a little limited. We found maharaja just about a five minute walk. This is our first restaurant stop and the Cotswolds as we start our trek down the Cotswolds way. We visited and put in a reservation for 6 PM . We arrived a little early and had a cider and beer at the pub out front. Great friendly local place with very affordable ciders and beers. We arrived a little after six for our reservation and were seated immediately. They have an extensive offering it was really hard to choose . I started with the Adha scallops - it had a light ginger and herb flavoring on the baby scallops. For dinner I had the Bangla fish Tawa- it has shrimp and shellfish in it, and the sauce is described as sensational, hot, sweet and tangy relish sauce - it was a light brown sauce that was indeed fantastic and slightly tangy. I would definitely order this again. I also had a side order of saag. We had garlic naan for the table. Other table favorites included the duck . The tandoori duck starter was excellent. For our rice accompaniment, we had the coconut rice that has a little bit of sweetness to it and the fried rice which was more savory.

We enjoyed the warm welcome from the friendly staff and were seated quickly. It's a good selection of specials and regular curries on offer at very reasonable pricing. With the pub next door there's a good drink selection too. We enjoyed popadums, a lamb biryani and a Jalfrezi. The spice levels were great, not too hot and really well cooked. Highly recommended!

Visiting the Cotswolds ( chipping Camden) for a few days, looking forward to having a curry while we're up here and was recommended The Marahaja Indian restaurant adjacent to the Volunteer Inn. We booked a table & visited on a Tuesday where they have banquet night, but decided to order some chef specials from the menue. My wife had a duck dish and I had a lamb shank, the food was delicious, tasty and especially flavoursome, one of the best Currys I have had in a while. I must say the service was exceptional and the manager Mehedi was very attentive without being OTT, in fact the staff were very professional. If your visiting the Cotswolds and fancy a curry, then give this one a go you won't be disappointed.

Delicious! Just finished my first curry (takeaway) from here, and it blew me away. I wasn't expecting it to be so good! I ordered Lamb Pathia and a garlic nan. The lamb was so soft and succulent, and the sauce was perfect: medium spiced, sweet, and tangy sour. Soft nan bread as well. The price was very reasonable too. I'll definitely be going back.

Lovely meal at Maharaja. The restaurant is in the courtyard behind, but attached to the Victory Inn pub. Classic Indian restaurant style menu but with some unique dishes. The staff were really fantastic and we were served by Mehede who looked after us all evening and was very quick to attend to every request. Great that the bar from the pub is shared with the restaurant, and you can see the kitchens as you walk in!

The Back Garden

Restaurant
The Back Garden is an establishment that aims to highlight the finest offerings of the Cotswolds on its menu. Their approach revolves around the concept of slow food, emphasizing ethically sourced rare breed meat and responsibly grown produce that changes with each passing season. The restaurant's ambiance exudes style and elegance, with attentive but not overbearing staff members attending to patrons' needs. The cuisine itself is exceptionally good, though it may come at a higher price point.
Had a lovely evening meal here. From the moment we walked in the experience was brilliant. All the staff were lovely, very professional and friendly. Food was lovely as well as the wines. Service was brilliant. The building itself is also lovely. About 10 minutes from Broadway. Some of the nicest toilets I've been to also.

Disappointing dinner as the prices did not justify quality and portion size of the dishes. The beetroot starter was an absolute joke. The simplest, tasteless and smallest piece of beetroot. For £10 this started our dinner off quite poorly. We told the staff it was too small to be considered a starter for an adult yet they did nothing to remedy the situation. The rest of the courses were good yet very simple, and lacking taste. We had bigger expectations from such a high establishment.

Absolutely fantastic meal. Very professional waiter with a big smile, thank you so much for looking after us and for such great recommendations. 5/5 on all fronts.

Service and food is 10/10. All ingredients were fresh and flavoursome with excellent presentation. We were celebrating a birthday and our server gave us a nice sweet treat to take away, lovely thought!

Fabulous, fabulous. We found this place by looking up the Michelin guide as we were in the area for a couple of nights. The restaurant is very stylishly decorated at least to our taste, the waiting staff are very attentive but not too much, and the food was really very, very good. It's a bit pricey but well worth it. I would definitely go again if I had the chance.

Everything exceeded our expectations. We would regularly visit if we lived nearer, though it was worth our 160 miles round trip. THE SCALLOP was the BEST.

Day 2

Off the beaten path
For day 2, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like National Trust - Hidcote. Not quite as popular as St James' Church, but still highly rated among many travelers. Accounting for getting around and average time spent, today’s activities could take about 8 hours.

National Trust - Hidcote is a renowned 20th-century garden located in the picturesque Cotswolds. Spanning four hectares, it follows the Arts and Crafts design principles, featuring intricately designed outdoor spaces with narrow pathways that lead to secret gardens. Created by Major Lawrence Johnston, the garden boasts unique outdoor rooms filled with diverse plant species collected during his expeditions.
This is a beautiful garden. There are some areas which could be better planted and some areas have suffered with lack of rain (and the policy is not to use hosepipes) but overall this is a delight. The lily pond area I found particularly beautiful with a lovely range of unusual and exotic plants. My only criticism, and this applies to all NT properties, is that you can’t buy the more unusual plants in their plant sales areas. They just offer a standard B&Q style range of the everyday.
Martin N — Google review
Great afternoon visiting these splendid gardens. Every member of staff we met was welcoming and friendly. Drought has been hard in the ground staff, but it looked really great and I would happily visit again soon. Got there at midday on bank holiday Monday, had to wait a few minutes for a parking space, but it wasn’t a problem. Rounded the day off with scones and tea for 2 at £10.20. Great sculpture exhibition on from now to end of season.
Vince B — Google review
A truly beautiful National Trust garden. The garden itself is divided into numerous "rooms", each of which is very different in character but all equally beautiful. The cafe was nice and serves a good selection of food and drink, including cakes, snacks and light lunches. Hidcote is a must-see place!
David A — Google review
One of the best National Trust properties we've visited - and we've visited a few! The garden seems to go on almost forever, with paths winding through each area. The planting is wonderful and the setting on hillside overlooking the distant Malvern Hills is spectacular. Well worth a visit!
Paul H — Google review
Visited when they had a lovely sculpture exhibition in the gardens. Beautifully maintained property with so much to see, we spent well over four hours here. Great value for money and the photos speak for themselves.
James S — Google review
Beautiful garden to visit, even late in the season. There was a sculpture exhibition on but we were there for the plants which were still extremely interesting after leaf drop!
Helen A — Google review
The gardens are absolutely stunning, especially the Old Garden, White Garden, Maple Garden, and Pillar Garden. Every turn reveals something new and exciting! The clipped wall is a fun feature for kids to explore, and beyond the formal gardens you’ll find a forest walk, sheep pasture, meadow garden, Italian Quiet Garden, pool garden, shade garden, orchard, lily pond, and charming garden structures scattered throughout. The paths are easy to follow, and having a map definitely helps. If you’re visiting with children, pick up a Flamingo Frankie’s Trail guide at the entrance—it features eight family-friendly play stations that make the visit even more engaging. Don’t miss the shop and nursery right at the entrance, offering adorable garden décor and a wide variety of plants for sale. The house itself is also a highlight, beautifully decorated and featuring a flower-themed art exhibit that I thoroughly enjoyed. With two young kids, I spent just over 1.5 hours here (without visiting the gift shop or café). If I came alone, I’d easily plan for two hours or more. An absolute must-visit for nature and garden lovers!

One of our regular haunts never fails to please. Currently running a sculpture exhibition throughout the garden until 2nd November. The gardens still looks amazing for autumn

Gardens
Kiftsgate Court Gardens, located near Chipping Campden, is a stunning creation of three generations of female gardeners. The gardens are famous for their beautiful roses, including the arching Kiftsgate rose that blooms in early July with cascading white flowers. The Bluebell Wood on the property has been blooming for over 100 years and offers a spectacular sight. Visitors can enjoy views of Malvern Hill and experience the tranquil atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle.
Set partly on a slope in the Cotswold Hills, this well maintained garden is home to a range of beautiful plants, including some unusual and interesting varieties. The majestic old trees, use of a steeply sloping hillside, and the borrowed landscapes beyond, make this a particularly interesting garden. While not vast, it’s thoughtfully divided into 15 sections, each rich in character and well worth exploring. The plants for sale are also in excellent condition, reflecting the garden’s high standards.

I’ve many gardens yet to visit, but this one is up there with the best I’ve seen. It flows so well, and there’s many spots that make you want to stop and just be present in the moment. I went on a Monday and it was so quiet , I came away inspired, a very special experience.
Dave B — Google review
A lovely garden with great views and ideal to combine with its immediate neighbour Hidcote. There are some fabulous plants, including many unusual species and the pot displays are wonderful. The water garden is a little barren for my taste but other than that the planting is exuberant. The plant sales area was a little disappointing with a mostly ordinary range of plants but the garden itself is certainly 5*. I read reviews saying it can be visited in an hour and is therefore expensive. In my opinion, a plants person would need more than an hour and indeed you could spend a very pleasant and relaxing half day here.
Martin N — Google review
We visited here recently and had such a lovely time. The gardens are absolutely beautiful and a credit to all the people who work so hard to maintain them. Thank you

A beautiful garden even after a prolonged dry spell. Lots of deep borders to admire and wonderful vistas. The cafe was excellent too. Plant sales were well worth a browse with very competitive prices. Some of the paths are tricky and steep down to the lower pool. Highly recommended.

St James' Church is a stunning example of Gothic architecture located in Chipping Campden, surrounded by picturesque Cotswold landscapes. Built in the 15th century by wool merchants, it stands as a testament to the town's medieval wealth. The church offers architectural tours and houses rare ecclesiastical tapestries and artifacts, including a unique robe protected from UV damage. Visitors can explore its medieval touches and appreciate its soaring tower that serves as a landmark for miles around.
St James's church is amazing, the memorial of Sir Baptist Hicks and his wife Lady Elizabeth completely blew me away. The attention to detail and the architecture is astonishing. The garden surrounding the church is well kept and so beautiful and peaceful, the trees are full of nests and homes to different types of birds all singing and chirping, ❤️ 🕊️

Bess as pitiful craft throughout. The carved ornate graveyard sculptures inside are bold and magnificent. The gardens are serene and glorious in the sun. Well looked after.

This is a lovely community church well loved and used by the community. Some very nice pieces to see. Very family friendly. They have a scavenger hunt for the kids to do. My 4 year old loved it and it made touring the church exciting for him and enjoyable for us.

Our daughter was married at the church this last Saturday (6th Sept) and the parish team were extremely welcoming to all of us. The most beautiful 'wool' church, and a friendly team with imaginative services. Make sure you visit!

The Eight Bells Inn is a charming village pub located in Chipping Campden, offering stylish and simple rooms with oak beams and Cotswold stone walls. The inn is known for its seasonal food, providing guests with a delightful dining experience. With a cozy atmosphere and excellent halloumi dish, it's a great place to enjoy a lovely Sunday dinner.
We had been visiting Little Oaks winery for wine tasting and they recommended the Eight Bells for a late lunch. Just a short drive away and we managed to park, even though there was a wedding at the church up the road. Made very welcome by friendly staff. The men went to the bar to check out the beer choice and were pleased to see that Hawkstone was on tap. We chose that on the recommendation of the knowledgable barman. Menu selection was great and sensibly priced. Our order was taken quickly and arrived speedily. We had the pie, fish and chips and chicken Caesar salad. All arrived hot and were very tasty. After a couple more drinks we left as the wedding party were beginning to arrive for their barbecue in the garden. Lovely quaint pub with uneven floors and low ceilings, lots of different places to eat or drink. Very attentive staff. We will be back.

We met some friends for lunch that we had not seen for 38 years. Dave was extremely patient while we launched into memories before asking for our order. The service and the food were excellent! The decor of the old inn were wonderful. The steak and ale pie was superb. We would thoroughly recommend this to anyone. Make sure you Book your lunchtime though as it gets busy.

We stayed 2 nights here & it was so lovely. The staff were so friendly & kind. Especially the lady in the morning serving breakfast she was so sweet . Rooms were cosey & warm . & the maids would clean the rooms every morning & replenish all waters / tea coffe which was good.the price we paid it was well worth it!

We didn’t stay here we just went for dinner. It’s so lovely here. The food is hearty and just delicious. The children’s menu is also cost effective. There is a lovely country pub atmosphere with a side restaurant if you don’t want to sit in the main pub. The service was brilliant. They were polite, friendly and delivered food and drinks quickly. We will 100% be returning. We only got photos of the desserts - which were super tasty!

Chipping Campden is a great town. Quintessential England and not too over run with tourists. The Eight Bells is the best of English pubs. Great atmosphere, great food and a great selection of beers. Best of all is the staff - friendly and accommodating. Well worth a visit. Better still stay there and chat with the locals.
Stephen K — Google review
I’ll be honest and say that I’ve never really got the hype with ‘the Sunday roast’ that us Brits love so much, but if they were all like this then I would! It was very good - so much so that I had to announce to our table that it was the best roast I’ve ever had! Staff were super friendly and very dog friendly - giving lots of fusses, treats and water to our pup. Thanks for a lovely Sunday afternoon - we’ll be back!
Charlotte F — Google review
We had dinner at The Eight Bells and were very satisfied. The servers were very friendly and attentive. It didn't take very long at all for us to get our food and the servers were very friendly and attentive. We had booked in advance, which I think was good. I would eat here again and recommend it to anyone for a very pleasant dining experience!
Summer D — Google review
I have a gluten and dairy allergy and made this clear to the lady serving us breakfast. She then said to me help yourself to cereal which is not gluten free. I ordered poached egg and salmon on gluten free toast and side order of gluten free toast with no butter, as I have a dairy allergy that my throat can tighten. She then brought my toast over with a pot of butter. I asked if the butter was dairy free again and was told sorry no it’s not. This could have caused me to have an allergic reaction. I was the given a glass of orange juice. The taste of it was awful and it made me gag. my partner also tried it and said it was not nice. The salmon came out with a lot of brown on it. Then to top it off we were trying to relax eating breakfast with some soft music playing. The rooms upstairs above the dining area starting playing rave/house music loud which you could hear over the relaxing music. Very disappointing. The dinner menu for dessert also confirms they do gluten and dairy free shortbread, when I asked for this I was told it does have dairy so not dairy free so the allergy menu is not correct.

Nice place for some tea and cake. Truly amazing banoffe pie. Love the vintage vibe and teapots. The staff was very friendly.
Ana Ć — Google review
Overpriced for underwhelming sandwiches and overall poor service. I stayed in the hotel a few years ago and never got to try the bistro so wanted to try on this return visit to the area. Got served quickly and the waitress was pleasant but when I gave my honest feedback about the desert (completely bland and not as described at all on the menu) I expected her to 1. Apologise (not even one sorry was uttered) 2. Tell the chef (I suggested she do so) 3. Offer an alternative or offer to remove from the bill (neither action was taken). This is lack of training for staff. Don’t get your staff to ask if everything was ok - but then take zero action when you tell them it’s not. What’s the point? As another reviewer said, I could see why it was empty despite it being lunch time. Sadly will not be returning.
L C — Google review
Very nice dinner experience at the Bistro. The portions exceeded my expectations. Well cooked and the service is good.
Fangyuan C — Google review
Terrible service. After sitting for 20 mins at our reserved table, we asked for menus and drinks, which then took another 20 mins to arrive. We were the only diners there so they definitely weren't busy! When the water arrived, the server spilled it into my sister's handbag. The bar was unattended. The soup was cold, the gravy with the pie was so thick you could slice it, and there wasn't even a suggestion of an artichoke in the artichoke gnocchi. When we asked to pay, they had no record of what we'd had, so we had to relay our order and wait another 15 mins while they confirmed it. There was clearly a very good reason it was empty. You couldn't pay me to go there again.
Dani B — Google review
Rushed ! We had a table of four booked at 8 on a Saturday evening for a 50th birthday. First impressions of the hotel and bar area looked a little past its best and lacking in atmosphere. We were greeted and shown to our table in the fig restaurant which was not very warm and had only a few diners. The menu was varied and nice. Our waiting staff were very friendly and polite. But we had eaten our starters and mains within an hour of sitting down offered dessert before we’d finished licking our lips from our main. We did however ask for a breather and they left us alone for 20mins All four of us enjoyed our food but just felt it was all very rushed. I feel some of these restaurants are missing a trick as all hard work is done getting you through the front door only to rush you through and out as quickly as possible. If more time had been given between courses we definitely would have had another couple of bottles of wine and maybe after dinner drinks etc. Our spend could have been increased greatly. Just my opinion.
Gareth J — Google review
Don't believe the hype on the doors. Mediocre cocktails, slow service and very spartan main room. Very disappointing New Orleans mule
Rich F — Google review
We were very disappointed with the standard of food here. It wasn't awful, but all of our party felt all dishes lacked seasoning and flavour. We had a cheese soufflé that had the thickness of a pancake and a very fatty steak. The male staff here are attentive, and courteous, the female member of staff not so. 2 x starters, 3 x mains, 2 x pud & btl very average white wine £200

Vegetable Matters Farm Shop and Cafe is a charming spot with friendly staff, offering fresh produce and colorful salads. The limited indoor seating is compensated by ample outdoor space with stunning views of the North Cotswold escarpment. It's a popular place that's expected to gain even more traction as COVID restrictions ease and spring approaches. The well-stocked butchers provide everything needed for a great Christmas dinner, while the tidy cafe offers an amazing menu at reasonable prices.
A stunning local farm shop. You always get a selection of the best veg. Plus there's a lovely cafe if you want to have a little treat after your shopping trip. Also a butchers next door.

We were staying for a long weekend in Ebrington and came across this farm shop. Just a wonderful shop with amazing staff and a brilliant range of vegetables grown on the farm. We visited a couple of times for produce or a coffee and cake!

Cafe - Nice cake and coffee, brunch looked good too. Service was a bit slow and furniture wasn't very welcoming. Plenty of seating outside which would be good on a warm day. Shop - good fresh produce and some interesting breads and preserves. Plenty of parking.

Best fresh veg around. Coffee shop has tasty gluten free cheese scones and is dog friendly. Today they had run out of gluten free cakes but the scone was delicious. The person serving asked if it was for a coeliac - first time I have been asked that in the UK; they also confirmed that all efforts had been made to keep it gluten free when they brought it to our table - very reassuring for a severe coeliac. Highly recommend

Small but perfectly formed. We'll stocked butchers and next door was entrance to the veg store and cafe. Everything you could need for a great Christmas Dinner with a stop in the tidy cafe for an amazing array from the menu. Good efficient service with plentiful drink alternatives to the norm. Reasonable prices for the well portioned meals. Recommended.

Lovely spot for coffee and a generous helping of cake. I had a toasted teacake this time. Nice, friendly atmosphere. Outdoor and indoor seating (with lap blankets for chillier days outside). Nice view over fields from the front. Easy parking just outside. Good little farm shop full of nice things.

All veg was in tip top condition. Strawberries were gorgeous and eaten already. Vine tomatoes smell amazing and will hopefully taste great also. New season purple sprouting looks great (tea tomorrow with sausage and mash) Topped off with Mocha, Hot Chocolate, Vegan Scone and Bakewell slice all of which ticked the box. A return visit is a no brainer.

Batsford Arboretum and Garden Centre is a 56-acre dog-friendly garden featuring an array of trees and shrubs from around the world. The site bursts into color in spring with snowdrops, daffodils, aconites, and daphnes creating a vibrant display. Visitors can even purchase snowdrops to take home.
First time visiting Batsford Arboretum in July and we really enjoyed it. The gift shop and garden centre has so much variety of plants and souvenirs. There is a dedicated picnic area where you can take your own food and drink which is a bonus. The garden itself is very well maintained, we really enjoyed the Japanese area. So much to see, we didn’t get to see all of it so we are planning on coming back soon. Would definitely recommend for a lovely day out.

Visited here during a weekday break to the Cotswolds in October advised to book in advance which with gift aid was £12 a ticket per head which for easily nearly 4 hours spent here is very well worth it 👍 there's plenty to see if you do the full walk with the trees this time of the year in all their glory of a riot of colour's most of the paths are hardstanding with a few steep inclines of softer ground but we took our elderly dog round in his buggy ok & there were a few disabled buggies getting around ok as well I'd say also brilliant for kids for an outdoor excursion with plenty of "off path" area's for them to explore & let some energy off in the fresh air also a large garden centre & restaurant here the restaurant having a very extensive menu at all reasonable prices with the food very very good quality the restaurant is,also dog friendly with a lovely outside verandah seating area sadly didn't get time to visit the old fashioned tool shed but I'll definitely do that next time we're back in the Cotswolds I'd like to see the Arboretum in spring as well with the blossom so would definitely visit again also a shout out to all the lovely staff 👏👏👏

Fantastic day out we went with kings norton coaches lovely to see the Anne Frank tree and all the other trees around however you can learn other things as well a truly fabulous day out. Toilets 🚻 in the centre all paths low and disabled accessible car parking in the yard free but pay to go in gardens around £10.90 each well worth it!

The arboretum is at its most colourful from September onwards when the leaves change colour. However, it is beautiful all year round. The design of the walks, statues, buildings etc makes it alway interesting. The restaurant serves quality freshly cooked breakfast and lunch while the shops acts as a garden centre and gift shop. Wonderful day in the cotswolds is almost guaranteed. One needs to buy in advance with an entry time to level out footfall and make entry smoother.

Large area to explore. Good car parking. Restaurant was very busy but good choice of food, although not much for GF diets or low carb. Many very established trees and shrubs including some giant Redwoods. The church was small but interesting. Barefoot House is private but it’s where the Mitford family lived for some time. You’re provided with a good map that shows the steeper trails. Seating provided in certain areas so you can have a breather and take in the tranquility. You could spend a day here easily.

Beautiful place. I visited in April when the magnolias and the cherry blossoms were in bloom. There is a large variety of both trees and other plants. There is a decent size cafe which sells a good variety of food and drinks and a shop which sells mainly garden items. I would definitely recommend a visit.

Bourton House Garden is a renowned garden located at an 18th-century estate in Bourton-on-the-Hill, Gloucestershire. The three-acre garden features eclectic topiaries, vibrant plantings, and luxurious terraces with stunning combinations of plants, textures, and colors.
One of the best garden you could visit. Friendly reception lady handing out garden maps. £10 is far too cheap. Cafe and gifts area lovely and historic. The garden is planted out stunningly in many different areas. Topiary exquisite. Across the road the arboretum is well worth a stroll too.

The gardens are relatively compact; imaginatively designed, immaculately maintained, and full of interest. They complement the lovely house (private) perfectly. Cafe and small shop in the adjacent tithe barn. The woodland walk away from the car park across the road is also very pleasant. A really enjoyable visit.

I've visited Bourton House garden about 6 years ago and enjoyed it, so decided I'd take my sister for a visit recently. I have to say I'm so pleased I've gone back. The gardens aren't huge but they are packed full of beautiful plants and exciting and unusual planting combinations. You'll see everything from British natives and common garden plants to exotic gems and rare beauties. I particularly enjoyed the combinations of aeoniums and pelargoniums in large pots. There's many different garden rooms, each with their own charms and themes. The staff are wonderfully friendly and helpful. There's delicious cakes and snacks to be had. A really well worth visiting garden.

Campden Coffee is a unique blend of local delicacies in the quaint village of Chipping Campden. The coffee beans are roasted over a campfire nearby, and crystal stones from the surrounding countryside add to its charm. Campden Coffee Company offers indoor and outdoor seating, making it pet-friendly. They are known for their popular milkshakes, cakes, waffles, and of course, their freshly ground coffee.
Great coffee. Enjoyed toasted tea cakes soup, fried eggs on toast. Friendly welcome. Comfortable sofa. Cozy atmosphere. Off the beaten track. Recommend!!

Chipping Campden was a stop on our Cotswolds tour, and frankly I wish we’d been able to come to this shop earlier and stay longer. We came shortly before closing and had the orange almond cake, my wife had a dirty chai, and I had a long black. Owner was very kind!

Campden Coffee is honestly one of my favourite spots! The homemade cakes and scones are out of this world — super fresh and always a treat. The coffee is amazing too, rich and smooth every time. The staff are really friendly, and the whole place feels cosy. Plus, it’s dog-friendly, so you can bring your furry friend along and relax together. If you love great coffee, delicious homemade treats, and a place that welcomes dogs, this is a must-visit!

A warm and cosy café down a hidden alley in Sheep Street, Chipping Campden. The cafe's tucked-away location gives Da Stefanie feeling like you are in an old Cotswold living-room with old style hospitality with a modern style espresso machine that delivers the best coffee in Campden. Good cakes too. Da Stephanie is the place to hang out and have great conversation. We didn't have lunch but what was served on the next table looked delicious. I particularly liked the sofas—comfort is so important to a good cafe—and best of all, on a cold day it was warm and snug.

Always a great pleasure and experience going to the Chipping Campden shop. After a wonderful journey through the English Countryside, I found the most excellent Robert Welch Studio, nestled quietly in Chipping Campden. There I was greeted by Debra, whom after twenty years of loyal service representing this superb Brand, was most helpful and very knowledgeable. After over a decade of successful usage my kitchenware, including versatile chefs cooking knives and fine cutlery could be added to, even in the same styles! How many Brands can boast that I wonder? Do pay a visit if you are able, this studio shop is well worth it, as it represents a kaleidoscope of colours and homeware options to embellish any home. Best Regards, and many thanks to Debra and the Top Team at Robert Welch. Freddie Cairns Palmer

Brilliant shopping experience at Robert Welch this week. Dani and Rebecca were extremely helpful and patient with us while we decided on our cutlery set. Beautiful visit to store!

The thickness and weight of identical items from the same range, for example, Iona Bright, have been reduced by about 10%. Now when you order additional or replacement items, you end up with noticeable lighter and miss matched items. This is very annoying and just really cheap, cheating behaviour. Done with Robert Welch.

While visiting the area and browsing local shops we came across the Robert Welch Chipping Camden Studio shop and popped in to have a look. After being greeted and welcomed by the lovely Diane it wasn't long before we had a whole new cooking set and a new cutlery set. Diane was very helpful and enthusiastic even though we popped in just before closing time. Would highly recommend, far better to see and feel rather than buying online.

"Huxleys: Mediterranean Vibes in the Heart of the Cotswolds" During our three-day exploration of the Cotswolds' finest spots, Huxleys in Chipping Campden provided the perfect finale to our journey. The glorious sunshine made al fresco brunch an irresistible option, and this café-brasserie caught our attention immediately with its vibrant upper terrace filled with contented diners enjoying the weather. We were fortunate to secure a prime table overlooking the main road, positioned perfectly in the sunshine just beyond the expansive awning. The setting instantly transported us from the quintessential Cotswold village atmosphere to what felt like a sophisticated Mediterranean terrace café. This transformation was seamless and added an unexpected European charm to our dining experience. The food matched the ambiance perfectly, with both coffee and cuisine meeting exceptional standards. The service team demonstrated professional efficiency while maintaining a warm, welcoming approach that enhanced our overall experience. Despite being an hour's drive from our home, Huxleys has earned a spot on our list of must-return venues. We're already planning future visits with friends to share this remarkable find. It's rare to discover a place that so perfectly combines local charm with continental flair, making Huxleys a true gem in the Cotswolds' crown.

Having no will left to live, lying on the kitchen floor zoned out through over stimulation due to having 2 kids under the age of 2. I needed a pick me up and to be waited on like a king. What better place to be able to do absolutely nothing but drink and eat to my hearts content. I ordered the ribeye steak with peppercorn sauce, chips and a side of garlic bread……WOW this really was the meal for Pavlos the Greek king in waiting! The chips were just sublime with the perfect crunch on the outside combined with creamy fluffy haven on the inside! The garlic bread was crunchy delicious with a layer on cheese that just made love to the surface mm mm delightful! Service was second to none and we left absolutely satisfied with the men in the group stumbling across the road like we’ve just took part in a John Wayne film straight into the volunteer for a few cheeky bevy’s to seal the night!

The food was delicious and service was good - it’s quite a small space with very few staff but tightly packed so it feels quite hectic. It’s dog friendly however the tightness of the space makes it rather uncomfortable especially if you have a big dog. The tables are so close together that there’s little you can do to make your pup feel comfortable.

BEWARE OF THIS PLACE!!! Review for Café Huxleys, Chipping Campden I visited Café Huxleys on my mum’s 69th birthday with my stepdad. We were staying nearby and wanted to explore the area, having not visited this part of the Cotswolds before. Unfortunately, our experience was deeply disappointing and concerning — particularly for anyone with food allergies, intolerances, or ethical dietary requirements. If you have a food intolerance, allergy, or follow a vegan diet, please exercise extreme caution here. I fancied a hot chocolate and specifically asked the senior waitress whether it was dairy-free or contained milk. She assured me that it was made only with cocoa powder and that if I chose oat milk, it would be dairy-free. On that basis, I ordered two hot chocolates (both with oat milk) and my mum ordered sparkling water. When the younger waitress brought our drinks, a biscuit was placed on the saucer. After taking one sip of the hot chocolate, I instantly recognised the unmistakable taste of dairy — something I haven’t consumed for many years due to intolerance. I immediately asked the young waitress whether the biscuit was dairy-free. She said she didn’t know and went to check with the owner. I witnessed him smirk, laugh slightly, and tell her that it was dairy-free. His reaction already made me uneasy, so I asked directly, “Are you sure? I’m dairy intolerant.” Only then did he quickly change his response to, “Oh yes, it’s dairy — don’t eat it!” At that point, I called over the same senior waitress who had taken my order and asked again whether the hot chocolate was dairy-free. She looked flustered and admitted, “Oh no, it’s not dairy-free — only the oat milk is.” Before we’d ordered drinks, I had actually spoken to the owner about whether they offered any vegan meal options, as we were considering returning later for dinner. He didn’t even make eye contact — he just smirked and bluntly said, “No,” in a dismissive tone. Once it was clear both the owner and waitress had given me incorrect information, I told them calmly that I was extremely unhappy and would not be paying. I had specifically asked whether the drink contained dairy, and they had explicitly told me it did not. The most troubling part of this experience wasn’t just the rudeness or dismissiveness, but the lack of responsibility around food safety. It appears they only take dietary restrictions seriously when the word “allergy” is used — not when a person says they are vegan or intolerant. As a result, I became unwell and what should have been a lovely day celebrating my mum’s birthday was ruined. This café needs urgent staff training around allergens, dietary awareness, and customer care. Until then, I would strongly advise others — especially those with allergies or ethical food requirements — to avoid this establishment.

Red Lion on the High Street. Great location. Large rambling pub. Stayed 2 nights in spacious rooms, en-suite, centre of Chipping Camden. New Manager very friendly and helpful. Staff also obliging and approachable. Stable bar and large external outside space a big asset. Really enjoyed my stay and would definitely go again.

Nice atmosphere in Pub, however the food experience was terrible. At 7:00 several of the items we ordered were no longer available, including the Fish and Chips. The service was very attentive and doing their best, but we're sabotaged by the kitchen. While trying to select alternatives, one of the meals showed up at the table. Food was only OK. Poorest experience we had in the UK.

We dropped in for our evening meal as we were staying nearby. The prices are more than reasonable for the portion size, must've been the biggest burger I've ever eaten. We were kindly welcomed by Saj and received our room. For a reason unknown to us, we were even given a room upgrade. The room was nearly perfect. If we may make one small remark, we would have liked a dedicated spot to hang the towels. But apart from that, we were very satisfied 👍

The knowledgeable and friendly staff are clearly passionate about their offerings, which range from bread to specialty sausages. Interesting selection of deli items but the welcome and service was bafflingly cold. Asked which scotch eggs were the best, and was told it depends on what I like and to read the signs for more information! An opinion would be nice - or maybe suggest what the most popular is? Would be unlikely to return based on this experience.
Charlie M — Google review
Nice shop, good selection but food wasn’t particularly special (sausage roll, arancini) or flavoursome. But most importantly, the most unwelcoming service you’d ever get. It’s like they actively don’t want to help and you’re a nuisance being there. Was passed from a young girl who didn’t know the answer of an allergy question to a more senior lady who was outright rude and unhelpful. Horrific and reading the reviews clearly all too common and not just a bad day.

Crystal Palace - Fish & Chips - Chinese Takeaway is a popular spot known for its reasonably priced and tasty food. Visitors have praised the quality of the fish and chips, noting that while the fish may be on the smaller side, it is bone-free and flavorful. The chips are described as decent but not crispy due to sitting for a while. Customers also enjoyed other menu items like chicken balls and prawn toast, with friendly staff adding to the positive experience.

We found this place to serve really great fish and chips! The fish (cod) was freshly cooked to order, it was an OK / average size and the chips were a very good portion. We were a little confused what their 'chunky' chips were, as the regular chips we ordered were chunky and just as you would expect from a normal Chinese fish and chips place. The fish and chips were really tasty, and we'd definitely eat from here again if we were in the area.

We also enjoyed our Greek salad and squid in tomatoe sauce. Generous pours of wine and nice ambiance. This place usually gets full house so you must make a reservation for a table .

We had an absolutely wonderful evening at Michael’s Mediterranean Restaurant! We started with two delicious appetizers, followed by perfectly cooked mussels, and finished with a delightful dessert. Every bite was simply amazing. The cocktails were excellent, the atmosphere was magical and cozy, and the service was outstanding – the staff were so warm and attentive. We truly enjoyed every moment and highly recommend Michael’s Mediterranean Restaurant for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience!

Amazing restaurant in a lovely village in the middle of Cotswolds. Food quality was great, I ordered Tzatziki as a starter and sole as a main and they were both great. Staff was quick and accommodating, turning on the heating near the table where I was sitting. Very much recommend :)

We went to Michael's for our first wedding anniversary and had a great time! The team were very friendly and polite, seating us outside initially but then offering us a table inside as it was set to get cold. There was a bit of a wait for service but nothing drastic (we were there about 2 hrs toral) and its worth it for the food. Best Mediterranean meal we've ever had! I had a chicken skewer and my wife had the halloumi stack - both were tender and bursting with flavour. Highly recommend!

Amazing Amazing Amazing! Delicious food, dessert, ambience, decor and service. Thank you Amali, to your family & lovely staff for such a lovely evening! I enjoyed visiting this week. Every bite of my moussaka was delicious! I've had many, this was truly one of the best! Churros were scrumptious! I look forward to seeing you all again when I return to wonderful Cotswold. Enjoy your travels and all the best with your studies, Amali. Fellow Cypriot, Anastasia

We had the Mezedakia shared appetizer and special padron peppers- both of which were exceptional. The vegetarian moussaka was just average, next time I would get the one with the meat. Service, attention to detail, etc. was very good. Conclusion surprisingly good.

Woolmarket House is a charming bed and breakfast that offers a countryside experience in Chipping Campden. The boutique property exudes medieval charm with its exposed stone walls and bathtubs in bedrooms, providing a luxurious stay. Guests have praised the exceptional service, cleanliness, and welcoming atmosphere of this 5-star B&B. Fantastic stay! check in couldn't have been easier and location is superb - right in the centre of Chipping Camden. Awesome room - so full of character and history and very comfortable with everything you need and more with thoughtful touches. Bathroom very luxurious and large! Breakfast choice is great and good quality. Definitely love to return!

Our stay at Woolmarket House was perfect. We stayed in the Snowhill room. The bed was very comfortable and we had an outdoor sitting area where I enjoyed my coffee and sunshine. It was a quiet room. Walked to everything. Sarah is extremely responsive. The breakfast was probably the best we have ever had in any hotel/B&B or restaurant!!!

After spending 12 days at 4+ star hotels throughout Scotland and England I can confidently say this was my favorite. The details and intentionality poured into the place shine through in all the little touches that made our stay so comfortable. The Mediterranean restaurant below (called Michael’s) was absolutely superb. Moreover, the location cannot be beat if Chipping Campden is on your Cotswold’s list, which it absolutely should be because it is such a quaint and quiet town. Parking is breeze with spots on the street right outside the building. I also want to acknowledge Evie, a staff member who works both the hotel and the restaurant for her amazing service and friendliness! Last thing to note, the breakfast included in the stay was so well done. I truly cannot say enough good about this bed and breakfast, you must experience it for yourself. 10/10.

I’m so glad I found this magical little place! Our room looked like something from Harry Potter! We had a wonderful dinner in the restaurant downstairs. It had the best staff and a was sweet little restaurant. Our accommodations: The bed was soft and cozy, there was a huge soaking tub, the bathroom floors were heated, and we had the best view of the Chipping Camden and the medallion that is the start of the Cotswold Way right outside our window. We had the best family style breakfast before we started our hike cooked by such a sweet lady. I would highly recommend staying here and hope I can again too!

Woolmarket House is a very nice b&b. Perfectly located in the heart of Chipping Campden. Our room was clean, spacious, comfortable, and overlooked the center of town. Breakfast was delicious and prepared fresh with high quality ingredients. The staff were friendly and helpful and gave us good suggestions on things to do and see in the Cotswolds. We would definitely stay here again.

We recently spent 6 nights at Woolmarket House and we felt very welcomed here. Sarah was a delightful host. She gave us excellent recommendations about places to visit in the area, and she was very enjoyable to speak with. Our room was tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The property is centrally located in Chipping Campden, and parking on the High Street was readily available and convenient to the hotel.

We loved our recent stay in Chipping Campden and the historic Woolmarket House. Our room was spacious and comfortable and could not be any more centrally located. Sarah and Michael were gracious hosts welcoming us and making sure we had everything we could need. Dinner at Michael's was top-notch and the breakfast each morning was ample and delicious. We so enjoyed the precious gift of chatting with our fellow B&B guests each morning. We look forward to future visits to Chipping Campden and the Woolmarket House.

Sandwich shop
Victors is a family-run sandwich shop and cafe located in Chipping Campden, offering a variety of breakfast options such as full English Breakfast, big breakfast baguettes, and customizable breakfast sandwiches. They also serve paninis, ciabattas, sandwiches, and hot drinks for both dine-in and takeaway. The shop is known for its seasonal specials like the Christmas baguette with turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and pigs in blankets.
Sandwich shop in an old bakery, you have a choice of fillings in a creative combination between a Baguette or Pannini, I had the turkey with cheddar and mango chutney with a cappuccino all good. They also have jacket potato and a full English breakfast, we did not try these. Most of the other clients were local which is a good recommendation

Awesome breakfast and sandwiches at Victors. It’s all freshly made ! Has the full English breakfast bun minus the blood sausages and a coronation chicken. The soft bun with the gourmet sausages , bacon , eggs and tomatoes were so good. So yummy! Wanted to come back again on Sunday but they are close on Sunday and Monday. Highly recommend this place.

Slightly disappointed because we came with expectations for its good rating. Sandwiches and baguette are confusing because they can mean sliced bread, buns with different shapes but not French baguette.

We had a wonderful weekend at Badgers Hall in Chipping Campden, a charming and historic property. The accommodation was comfortable and well-equipped, providing all the necessary amenities for a pleasant stay. The breakfasts were freshly prepared with local ingredients, and the scones were particularly delightful. Karen and Paul, the owners of the B&B, were incredibly welcoming and friendly. Their adorable puppy Denzel added to our enjoyment during our four-night stay.
My husband and I stayed for 4 nights during our two week trip in England. Karen and Paul were amazing! They were so welcoming and we really enjoyed talking to them. Their B&B is such a beautiful historic property. Breakfast every morning was great, thank you Paul! Denzel the puppy was a great addition to our trip. We hope to come back one day and visit them again.

My family and I have just had a strange and I would say rather upsetting experience while having coffee and cake at Badgers Hall Chipping Campden. We were initially greeted warmly and sat down by a friendly female member of staff. It is a very quaint and cosy place and we were excited to have found it. We were served some delicious looking cakes and drinks. Trouble started though when several wasps started circling around us especially the table where my mum, a lady in her sixties, and myself were sat. In hindsight the syrupy treacle tart slice that we had ordered didn't make matters better. There were quite a few of them and my mum mentioned it to the waitress who was a different member of staff than the kind lady who had initially greeted us. Her response was that there was really nothing to do about that at this time of year but my mum suggested that it was helpful to have a spray bottle of water nearby and give the wasps a mist with it when they got too annoying. Here is the thing I really had a problem with; the lady said she could not be expected to stand around all day spraying away the wasps. No indeed not, and that is not what we had suggested. It seemed to me she tried to be nice but I could feel her annoyance and dislike towards us just under the surface. The cosy atmosphere started to deteriate. The wasps continued to bother my poor mother and she got up and ran away from them and let out a little scream. I felt sorry for her since I could see she could not enjoy her coffee and cake so I asked politely if they perhaps had a table just for my mum and myself inside so we could get away from the wasps. (we were a party of 7 people). The same lady said there were no tables available which was totally fair. What was not fair was the same attitude I was met by again from her, dislike and annoyance. There was by now a very awkward atmosphere. We were next to the kitchen and my cousins daughter noticed one of the female kitchen staff shaking her head at us. After we had left and been able to discuss our collective experience we generally had a feeling that the staff were talking about is behind our back. My mum and I managed to move ourselves to another table outside leaving the treacle tart behind on the original table and we were able to finish our coffee in more or less peace from the wasps. My adult daughter had ordered a coffee with oat milk at the side and still not received it. I dont mind if staff get orders mixed up sometimes but the same lady when reminded about the coffee responded in a cold manner without a smile or apology. This is my much longer edited review of my experience which happened yesterday. Initially I had written a short damming review but I felt like it needed more elaboration so you readers out there dont feel like I'm just some miserable customer hungry for retaliation. Thanks for reading. Especially the staff at the place. I don't know why you disliked us so much, you should treat everyone the same. Be kind to all your customers. Thank you.

Nature & Parks
The Ernest Wilson Memorial Garden, established in 1984, pays homage to a renowned plant collector born in Chipping Campden in 1876. Known as Chinese Wilson locally, he extensively explored China and other Far East countries, seeking plants and seeds for the UK. His efforts introduced over 1200 plant species, many of which can be found within the gardens. Notable specimens include the Paperbark Maple and Handkerchief Tree (Lilium regale).
A quiet, reflective walled garden in the heart of Chipping Campden. You enter via a small arched gate from the high street between the one-way system. A very peaceful and special place. Very small, and yet it seems to run at a different pace to the outside. Sit on the rock and take a deep breath.
Kallipar — Google review
Anyone visiting Chipping Camden would be well rewarded by stepping beyond the shops to visit the Ernest Wilson Garden. It is free to enter although there is a box for donations to help with the upkeep. The garden is encompassed within a well laid path. It is a relatively small area but there are attractive plants and the information boards are excellent.

This was a surprise find whilst walking in Chipping Campden village. It's a smallish (free to visit) garden dedicated to Ernest Wilson (lived in the town) but dedicated his life to exploring the world China in particular in search of exotic plants, several of which are planted in this memorial garden.

Court Barn Museum is an award-winning gem located in Chipping Campden, dedicated to showcasing the rich history of the Arts and Crafts tradition in the area. The museum features works by local designers and craftsmen from as far back as the early twentieth century, including pieces by C. R. Ashbee and his Guild of Handicrafts. Despite its small size, it offers a wealth of interesting items and information about the makers, along with a modern-day equivalent exhibit.
The Court Barn Museum celebrated the legacy of the prominent artists, designers and craftspeople who moved from the East End of London to Chipping Campden in 1902 to create the present vibrant artist community. Set in an restored barn.
Lawrence M — Google review
As a crafter myself I found our visit very inspiring. It tells the story of the idealistic but sadly short lived crafting community founded by C R Ashbee. It's a story made all the more poinient by the loftiness of the ideals it embodied and it's brevity. I agree with others that it's a small museum but the quality is excellent. I came away feeling inspired to pursue my own creative pursuits and to find out more about Ashbee and his community.

This is s hidden gem of a museum, at the end of Chipping Campden. Its dedicated to the arts and crafts people who lived in the area. Its small, basically one large downstairs room but has a lot of interesting items and information on them and the makers. There was another small exhibit about the modern day equivalent of this type of work. It's run by volunteers but there was a curator on site if you had questions they couldn't answer. There's a small shop selling items made by local artists and craftspeople. At time of visit it was £7.00 pp (July 2023) this gave you a year tickets and a two for one offer for another local museum.

Went as a couple for a weekend break after being gifted a voucher and we were not disappointed! The staff were really helpful when booking and throughout our stay, they couldn't do enough for us and always with a smile. Room was perfect, champagne and chocs were waiting for us (part of the gift voucher). The hotels location couldn't be beat, right in the beautiful center. We had a delicious breakfast and evening meal. Parking is available at rear of hotel and also had e-chargers if needed. Super relaxing break, we would love to return and try out the spa treatments!

I can’t comment on the rooms as we didn’t stay. We had AFTERNOON TEA here. The service was great, polite and friendly. The scones were the best part of the afternoon tea. Warm with cream and jam - they were fluffy and not too heavy. Sadly we found there were too many cake options and not enough sandwiches/savoury. There were no savoury pastry options, understanding all afternoon teas are different just found with 5/6 smaller (brought in not home made) cakes the experience was very sweet. So if you like cake you’ll love it 😊

You can't fault the location of the hotel or the service. The staff were lovely. However, I ve got to say I was underwhelmed by our room for the price. When you looked around doors and walls in the hallway and landing there were loads of marks. The paint on the inside of our room window couldnt have seen a lick of paint in years. The radiator was grey. The towel rail and thermostat were decrepid and old. The bath panel was an eyesore. Our hearts sank when we walked into our room. Still the bed was comfortable. I used to be a caretaker/maintainece man at a thirty room hotel. We used to have a plan of works to keep internal and external fixtures and fittings in good up keep. When we left our car on the back car park we walked towards the back of the hotel. My brother in law said, well this place hasn't seen a paint brush in years. If anyone is on Chipping Campden highstreet, take a look up at the top floor windows at the front of the building or the dowstairs ground floor dining room doors. They don't get in that state in a short period of time. Paying nearly £300 a night I didn't think it was too much to ask to have a high standard of finish. Such a shame.

Stayed here for our wedding night and were treated amazingly. Our room was spacious with a private garden and hot tub. We had our wedding here on the 26.07.25, Mandy and the team went above any beyond to not only make the day the most special day of our lives, but the planning process throughout the past 18 months, was seamless and enjoyable. We really can’t thank the team enough for the care and attention to detail, they have shown us. Not only is it a picturesque backdrop, and an exceptional standard of food and service (for our 90 day guests and 120 evening guests), alongside many other perks such as late license to 1am, and that at the time of booking, it was no extra charge to have our wedding on a Saturday, also all added to our special day. We were slightly concerned as the venue wasn’t ‘exclusive use’ but we need not have of worried, as on the day it felt completely ours and very private. We also had 15 rooms booked for the night of wedding and everyone said how lovely the accommodation was - ourselves along side many of our family and friends, will be looking forward to visiting again. Thank you so much again - Mr & Mrs Ashley

Booked afternoon tea for today but when we arrived we were told afternoon tea isn't there but in their sister hotel across the road. No warning of this and they also did not let the Noel Arms know we were coming so they were a little surprise. However they couldn't do enough for us. 5 stars for the Noel Arms who were so accommodating even though we appeared with no warning. Luckily we didn't have any dietary requirements but had we have done, they would have found it very difficult to accommodate us at such short notice. It would have been a courtesy for the Cotswold House Hotel to have emailed or contacted me to let me know in advance so we would have had the opportunity to change venue. And also to let their colleagues know too! As it was we had the most wonderful afternoon tea at the Noel Arms who looked after us so well. They will be receiving a 5 star review.

Such an underwhelming experience. Spa has barely anything. Steam room and tiny pool, the chairs are so stained and dirty looking. The massage was extremely average and very little pressure despite requesting multiple times throughout. No attempt to wipe all the oil off me at the end. Absolutely not what I’d expect from a spa at £90 per hour. The cream tea was extortionate at £50 for 2 scones each and a cup of tea. None of the staff ask how your experience has been so unfortunately they’ll find out through this review. I came away from here in a bad mood.

Stunning stay at the Cotswolds Hotel & Spa, staff were lovely, our Suite was perfect and the spa was delightful but the real stand out was dinner in The Hidcote! We enjoyed our stay at the Noel Arms. The building was kind of like a maze with squeaky floors, but that added to the charm. We really liked our room and were happy to see that it had a bathtub. It was nice to have a soak after a long day walking. The service was fine, maybe not quite as welcoming as some of the other places we stayed, but perfectly adequate. Only critique is that we got a cookie from the cafe in the lobby and it seemed quite stale. The location was ideal for exploring the lovely village of Chipping Campden. We'd certainly stay here again!

Although everything was just about okay nothing was really good and at this price it should be. Staff were professional but in a robotic sort of way, especially at the front desk where I was booked in and out efficiently but without a smile a welcome or a cheery farewell. And breakfast was a complete shambles with the buffet table stripped bare by 09:00 (and not replenished) and we had to wait over 20 minutes to be served cooked food. All in all the Noel Arms has sadly been the low point in value for money terms of our ten or more Cotswold stays over the last two years. We will not be going back as there are simply far too many better places close by at cheaper rates.

Two words. Don't bother. I so wanted to enjoy my 2 night stay here. The room was OK but upstairs looks very tired. The Hotel is let down by the breakfast offering. Had to pre order my breakfast the night before. I ordered full English the first morning. Had to wait 1/2 hour before it arrived. Quite a small breakfast and I would have preferred my sausage cooked more. Very anaemic sausage that was just about cooked. Changed my breakfast the next morning to scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. After 35 minutes this meagre breakfast turned up. No apology for the long wait. Atmosphere in the restaurant is like being at church. Sorry but I won't be returning

I popped in here for dinner with my friend and my parents. Me and my dear mother had the beef curry and my colleague and father had the chicken curry. Chicken curry was a nice safe delicious choice for the 2 chaps. Beef is obviously like playing Russian roulette with a loaded desert eagle, could be succulent delicious meat or could be like chewing on something ant and dec feed you in the jungle. Mine as superb and succulent however my mother caught the brunt and was left with half her meat inedible. However the staff took the meal off the bill and everyone left happy. Lovely pub! Every meal we’ve ever had in there is top notch so can’t really fault the place.

Hotel in a good location, basic room light and clean, bed comfortable. First night dinner disappointed, we were in the restaurant at 7 pm, after finishing the first course we waited almost half an hour for the staff to clear the table, by which time it was 8:45 pm. Other guests came in after us have finished two courses, and enjoying their after dinner drinks, while we're losing patience for the second course. We were embarrassed by the curious look from other guests, wondering the reason we were not treated equally could be because my wife is of ethnic minorities.....?!?!

Only popped in for lunch so never saw the rooms. Located right in the heart of Chipping Camden, very beautiful building with lovely historical points. We visited on the time of the local Olimpick games. Town was pedestrianised anyway more about our meal experience, I had a lovely pint of local Cotswolds ale. So I chose the burger and fries excellent all-round my wife had the haddock and chips. Debra was our server and was very helpful. The meal was of good size and well displayed. Reasonable price and as mentioned great friendly staff. Many thanks

The lovely lady in the shop, I could have bought so much from her. A beautiful town I love to revisit. Bought very reasonable priced books and postcards. One or two paintings also.. Thank you for the advice..

Another almost-medieval looking small town with old stone houses and thatched roofs and a warm, cosy, fantasy town vibe - hobbit town! Definitely worth seeing. Voted one of the prettiest villages in the UK.

We met Jane just now who told us all about the history of the old police station when we enquired about it’s past. Whilst it wasn’t strictly tourist information business Jane went absolutely above and beyond and even showed us the preserved courtroom upstairs which was epic. We cannot thank Jane enough. The Chipping Campden Music Festival is a delightful celebration of classical music, featuring a diverse repertoire that includes both timeless classics and modern compositions. Held in the picturesque St James Church, the festival offers an enchanting experience where attendees can enjoy orchestral performances, recitals, and vocal presentations amidst the stunning surroundings.
Music and program excellent but oh dear, so many of my fellow audience members were usual local pretentious snooty gatekeepers of the Chipping Campden cultural social scene. Tiresome people. And the venue’s loos latrinas sordidas non visitatis!!

I explored for a considerable amount of time in this remarkable vintage store, a haven for enthusiasts of older objects. I purchased a charming vase with an art nouveau design. The proprietor was an amiable and hospitable woman. This enchanting antiquity shop is brimming with delicate pottery and fine porcelain items that are definitely worth checking out.
A delightful antique shop full of China and porcelain. Well worth a visit.

Gift shop
Frankie Doodle is a charming store in Chipping Campden that offers a wide range of gift items, from leather handbags and jewelry to baby gifts and bobble hats. The shop provides excellent service and an amazing selection of products. The new owner has slightly rebranded the store, but it still maintains its lovely independent charm. Visitors can expect to find something special to take home with them.
A lovely shop with friendly staff. It has many many beautiful and unusual gifts to choose from and of course my personal favourite was the extremely large selection of Jellycat.
Bolton H — Google review
I searched out this shop on the recommendation of a friend who had previously visited. I found out that there was now a new owner, who didn't have dachsies, and the name has now been slightly rebranded. It is still a lovely independent store, and I feel sure that there will be something there that you will like to take home with you. I explained how I came to visit - my friend also having dachshunds - and the lady found me a bag with the previous logo, so that I could make her gift extra-special. How kind. I am looking forward to returning.
Alison M — Google review
Exquisite and charming shop, filled with lots of lovely treats. They had unique pieces, such as scarves, handbags, jewelley, soaps etc and children’s gifts too. I bought some precious gifts for friends and family, they were wrapped beautifully and the service was friendly and helpful. Well worth a visit!
Caroline G — Google review
Haven't visited Chipping Campden for ages but went today so had to pop into the wonderful "Frankie Doodle". The service is still excellent, the stock still amazing but a lot of very different things again. Needless to say we had to treat ourselves, well me actually, a fabulous leather bag, well priced and beautifully wrapped. There were two children shopping there when we arrived, and Lucy made a fuss of their pocket money shopping, wrapping each purchase separately, in a little carrier bag, with ribbon. This is a special shop, with great items to buy (and always check out the greetings cards) and thoughtful caring service. One of the best shops ever.
L B — Google review
An aladins cave of gift ideas, for all ages and plenty to treat myself. Even in lockdown doing local deliveries so no excuses not to get somebody a wee kind thinking of you gift or start getting Christmas ready. Amazing staff and service. Thank you.

Fig Restaurant in Campden is a charming dining spot that offers an exceptional culinary experience. The kitchen team showcases their creativity by using locally sourced ingredients such as cheeses, breads, and meats from the Cotswolds region. Known for serving the best scones in southern England, they are accompanied by clotted cream, jam, and a pot of tea.
Excellent meal, delicious and presented well. The Fig is also the Bistro for the evening meal. We enjoyed our experience and the wine paring.

The young Australian waitress did a good job — she was friendly, attentive, and clearly made an effort to provide good service. Unfortunately, aside from her, the overall experience was rather average. The food was okay, but not particularly memorable. Given the price point, the portions felt small and not generous. Our starters were forgotten by the kitchen (though the waitress had definitely placed the order), but to their credit, they were removed from the bill without issue. The atmosphere felt somewhat stiff. What further disrupted the experience was that as soon as guests started leaving, the staff began spraying cleaning products on nearby tables — even while we were still eating just a few feet away. Since no new guests were being seated (it was the last round of the evening), this seemed unnecessary and unpleasant. One final note: I understand that restaurants struggle with no-shows, but this place takes reservation confirmation to an extreme. We had to confirm twice through OpenTable, then received a personal email , followed by a phone call the day of. When we arrived, the waitress had to go from table to table checking names and confirming reservations in person — which felt excessive and frankly disruptive to the dining atmosphere. All in all, there are at least two nicer dinner options directly in town that offer a more relaxed and enjoyable experience.

Adorable cafe, and definitely a diamond in the ruff! According to the lady at the next table over, these are the best scones in southern England, and although my scone expertise is not as extensive as hers, they were delicious. The tea was excellent, too, and the staff was friendly (and knowledgeable on the correct order of clotted cream, jam, etc.). The scones were massive and each order came with two scones and a large pot of tea, so with four of us we only needed two orders. I wish I could go back a second time!
Via D — Google review
The Afternoon Tea we had was very disappointing, equalled by the service we received. We had to wait some time to be served while the place was literally empty. We called ahead with dietry requirements that, while not complex, were not recorded so it resulted in an awkward conversation with the waitress about what the ingredients were for each item. She seemed completely flustered by our questions and we never saw her again until I had to hunt someone down so we could pay the bill. The food didn't taste fresh, the cakes tasted stale and the macaroons were a very bad batch. Crunchier than kettle chips!. We are used to having our sandwiches renewed at other Afternoon Teas but here we were never even given the option to ask. It felt like the 1 waitress we had was pulled away from serving the 4 different Afternoon Tea groups to wait on the bar while nobody replaced her. Overall a very poor experience. I'm sure the other restaurant in the hotel is better, that's where the staff seemed to be.
Richard N — Google review
This afternoon cream tea was one of the finest I’ve ever had. Clean and bright atmosphere and attentive staff. Scones came warm and tall, with luxurious Devonshire cream and black currant jam. You deserve it!

Booked Fig restaurant for special family meal the night before our son's wedding in the area. Son had crab cakes which gave him food poisoning; up all night and big day ruined. This place should be shut down; a total disgrace.

The food here was delicious. Very much lived up to the fine dining experience. The atmosphere was perfect, not too busy and not too empty. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. It didn't feel too stuffy. We had the 3 course a la carte menu and they served 2 extra small dishes. Perfect amount of food. Great restaurant if you want something special.

I went here with my family for afternoon tea and it was delicious. The staff was friendly and fast. The scones and tea were fantastic and reasonably priced for the portions given.

Nestled in the charming town of Chipping Campden, The Volunteer Inn B&B is a delightful stone-built establishment that exudes history and character. This 17th-century inn offers cozy accommodations and features a traditional pub atmosphere where guests can savor both English and Indian cuisine. With its inviting ambiance, it's the perfect spot to unwind with locally brewed ales while catching up on sports or enjoying live music events that enhance the lively vibe.
My wife and daughter stayed here for 3 nights and were happy with our decision. The pub downstairs has all the English feel that an American could hope for with a healthy selection of English cask ales. We were greatly pleased with the breakfast in the mornings and that the Inn was able to provide a cot for our little one.

We stopped here while cycle touring through the Cotswolds. Great value for Chipping Campden & perfect for a quick overnight stay. Staff really helpful with finding somewhere to lock our bikes up for the night. Breakfast plentiful!

a great value place to stay in a lovely little Cotswalds village. The bar below is very nice with sports on big screens and a friendly atmosphere, and the room was very good for the price. The breakfast was good and the staff let us put bikes in a back shed out the rain overnight.

A great B&B in Chipping Campden. The town becomes quiet at night and this Inn and it's pub gets noisy. But it's a nice feeling to be part of the pub. The Bangladeshi run Indian Restaurant is not really Indian food. They need to employ real Indian cooks to do up the food.

A very warm welcome but the wrong room(no.9) for 2 walkers walking the Cotswold Way. We were above the bar and kept awake till well past midnight by noisy darts players. Not a good start to our holiday

We didnt stay at the Volunteer Inn hotel but as a crowd, we managed to book a table of 11 couples last Saturday, our crowd were in high spirits after a friends fantastic wedding in Chipping Campden on the Friday and we were probably not the quietest ! The food was delicious, service was brilliant, the staff were very friendly and even accommodated our request for Indian music, to which our crowd of 22 attempted to dance along to !!!! Hopefully we didn't upset the regular punters and would definitely re-visit the Volunteer when we return to Chipping Campden.
