Cité Vauban, located in Briancon, France, is a historic fortified town nestled in the Hautes-Alpes region. This City of Art & History is renowned for its Vauban fortifications, which are designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The fortress showcases unique military mountain architecture and features star-shaped walls and ramparts designed to provide strategic advantages in defense.
The Briançon old city is absolutely beautifu, with many small shops and artisan boutiques. The fort is also impressive and worth a visit. From there the view is beautiful
Chiara C — Google review
Great historical place, famous for its Vauban fortifications ! Old city very nice to walk into. Superb view from the ramparts, where you can enjoy a refreshing drink!
Stéphane P — Google review
The old city center does not offer anything shocking, it is even quite boring. Everything is concentrated on one street, everything else is a mixture of old and renovated. Many medieval cities look better. However, if we look wider, in the context of the former defensive fortresses (tribute to master Vauban) in the city area, the picture is more varied. Despite being Monday, the parking lots and the main street were very crowded, I spent more than 1 hour parking - quite a bit from the old part of the city. The tour of the walls offers beautiful panoramas, but I was very disturbed by the excessive dog feces - disgusting and smelly - shame on dog owners!
Jože H — Google review
This is a very interesting fortress town. The main street has good shopping. Parking is available a few hundred meters away but is not free (only the first 30min). Excellent views. The town itself is pleasant and the natural surroundings with the various forts make it a special place. Not easy to access for people who cannot walk, due to the height differences.
Michael B — Google review
Interesting old town, took a walk around the walls and inner streets. A great fest, community theatre. Breathtaking sunset. Outside the walls a great boulangerie with fantastic mille feuille.
Meira K — Google review
The shops on the main street have some interest gift ideas, local flavors, talents and traditions, a few really talented artists and sculptors. Very old buildings. Very interesting visit even more so when there are events planned.
Monica W — Google review
Wonderful old city! The highest in France.
Elaias K — Google review
The most beautiful part of Briancon, you should start your journey here. Visit the Tourism Office for guided tours to the surrounding fortresses.

Le Pied de la Gargouille is a restaurant that offers top-quality cuisine and an inviting atmosphere. It is the ideal place to recharge after a business trip or physical exertion. The restaurant's focus on grilling adds a unique touch, allowing guests to witness the careful preparation of their meals. The menu includes delicious options such as steak, fondue, raclette, and tartiflette. One specialty worth reserving in advance is the whole leg of lamb cooked over an open fire.
Open grill in seating area. Dog friendly. Provided a (basic) high chair happily on request. Great food. Highly recommend
Alex D — Google review
The food is absolutely amazing, but the service is way too slow. The table beside us was about to give up and walk out before getting their main course. It is a shame, because the food is some of the best we had on this trip!
Yasmin T — Google review
Great food and a unique concept with the grill in the seating area. It was nice to see the preparation and care that went into the food. The house wine was also excellent. The price is very reasonable.
Chris N — Google review
In the old town. Perfect raclette, fondue and tartiflette. Call ahead to reserve the speciality, whole leg of lamb strung over and open fire. Very nice place and amazing staff!!
Toni R — Google review
Tldr: very slow service; i had rubber band in my soup and the boss didnt care. ——— The food was quite good, offering a range of flavors that were both unique and satisfying. However, my dining experience was marred by a few significant issues. Firstly, the waiting time to receive our meal was excessively long, which was a bit disappointing. A busy restaurant is understandable, but a shorter wait would have been appreciated. More concerning, though, was an incident involving my soup. I was alarmed to find a rubber band in it, which I nearly consumed by accident. This raised serious concerns about the kitchen's attention to detail and food safety standards. When I brought this to the attention of the waitress, she was apologetic, which was reassuring. However, the response from the management was far from satisfactory. For the boss it seemed normal, he just said it’s a small error, without a proper apology. This lack of professionalism and concern for customer safety and satisfaction was disheartening. While the quality of the food was good, the overall experience was dampened by these issues. I believe that customer service, especially in response to such significant errors, is crucial in the hospitality industry. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and improves their service and attention to detail.
Kacper K — Google review
Overall felt a little let down as the restaurant appears to be a 'steak' restaurant with fire cooked meats. However the reality is quite different. Starters were ok specifically the onion soup but the terrine was very dry. Steak was disappointing as was the lamb. Service was very friendly but they seemed overwhelmed. Wine list was very restricted and quite overpriced.

The best dinner we had in Briancon! The staff was super helpful and friendly. Totally recommend it! Great restaurant and a unique experience in the old town of Briancon. The food was delicious with top quality ingredients. Thank you for everything!!

Great restaurant with a friendly ambience and a relaxed atmosphere. We had some really good meat cooked at the open fire, and fondue. We enjoyed the tastiness of the beef and the creaminess of the cheese. The staff is friendly and really fun. Highly recommended.

We had only ever been to the fort & old rown on the hill, so glad I saw this park. We spent a beautiful day in the park . Convenient bar, serves lunch, has restroom and next to Lake. Has a few picnic tables and benchs in the shade as well as in the sun, near the small beach. Hiking trails, playground, zip lines in the trees, paint ball, mini golf. If I remember correctly, I saw a sign that dogs are not allowed( not sure ).

I've known this ice-skating rink for 30 years. I've always loved it. The staff is super nice, the rink is big and I loved that they added chairs for the kids to skate with HOWEVER for 30 years I've known the same ice-skates and please please please for the sake of our feet, renew them!!! They hurt 30 years ago so imagine today, I just put them on and regretted my choice straight away. My feet are absolutely dead now. I would go so much more often if I could bear the skates....

Beautiful little restaurant in the historical center of Briançon. The quality/price ratio is much much better than the other bars and restaurants in the old town which are very “touristy” and expensive. Very much recommend for a quick but very tasty lunch.

Honestly the one bad thing about my trip to Briançon. Unfriendly staff who made jokes about us in French thinking we didn't understand. Place was not clean and no effort made to clean the table we sat at. Unpleasant smell inside. Asked to calm down when I stood up to look at the menu on the wall because we hadn't been given one after waiting for a while. Ended up leaving before we ordered food.
Tariq E — Google review
A lovely spot for lunch, coffee and a gallette, which came with a few greens on the side. A good sized crepe.
Leon H — Google review
Great spot for lunch, the Texan burger and Baltique panini ( which actually came in a brioche burger bun ) were very tasty and came accompanied by a small salad and home made fries. Would return and recommend.

Wow. We discover this beautiful little place whilst having a walk around the old town in Briancon. The owner was extremely welcoming and charming. We all had a very high quality gourmet burger with fantastic home made fries. All washed down with some nice cold beer. Ski resort
Ski Serre Chevalier, located in the French Alps, offers 250 km of pistes and is situated near the Ecrins National Park. The valley spans 15 km from Briancon to Monetier-les-Bains and includes charming villages like Chantermerle, Villeneuve, and Monetier-les-Bains. The resort provides a variety of slopes for different skill levels and features an off-piste area.
We've skiied here every winter for the last 5 years, but this is our first time up the mountain in summer. It's beautiful with amazing views. Lots of outdoor activities are available to you on piste; mountain bikes, scooters, zip wires, go carts, walking, climbing, etc. With river rafting on the river at the bottom. A great destination for any outdoor enthusiasts. A word of warning, it was 34° at the bottom of the mountain, but significantly cooler and windy at the top! Take a fleece with you.

Amazing ski resort, 250km of piste and amazing off peast. A variety of difficulties, on piste and off piste. Also a great Snow Park with 3 different difficulties. A small Boarder Cross, which is amazing if your just starting, but if you want to ski/board a different cross, there is the Funny Cross. The Funny Cross is great to practice sharp turns, and also is good to get decent speeds.
Cian J — Google review
It's a beautiful place, a lot of trails and good snow! My complain is no wifi service, my phone had no signal over there and it make hard to communicate with your buddies if you decide go to a different trails. Also the bus for another base took so long to arrive and only after that we were informed that it wasn't for free and didn't not accept credit card, cash only. All the ski mountain resorts I've been before had free shuttle to parking lot or other bases. Not this one. So plain ahead where are you going to finish, otherwise you will have to walk on a highway for 30 minutes to go to the other base area.
Marcella C — Google review
Came for late season snow, great resort with plentiful accomodation options. I would say night life is slightly limited but only in comparison to Austrian Resorts and more lively resorts in France. Plenty of skiing and boarding to be had to keep a competent group busy for most of a week. Great fun.

The Mountain Kart is beyond description... definitely worth it ❤️ and the Zipline is also very nice All the staff are friendly and all speak English

Great routes and slopes, great for off road if sufficient snow. Due to low altitude bear in mind that the snow will change its properties and in warm weather, mostly below 1000m. Chairlifts could use with a refurbishing or a completely new seats. Ski pass readers pick up the signal with ease, but it may cause your skies to separate since it moves pickes up the signal and rotatea too quickly, so rush the gates. Free WiFi coverage is ok, registering is a must, which is a minor nuisance yet the BBQ spots on the mountain are a gem.

Nestled in the charming surroundings of Briançon, Au Plaisir Ambre is a culinary gem that promises an unforgettable dining experience. Chef Michael truly shines here, crafting a delightful tasting menu that caters to various dietary needs, including gluten and dairy allergies—just be sure to inform him ahead of time! Guests rave about standout dishes like the exquisite fish risotto and perfectly seared scallops, culminating in a delectable dessert that leaves you wanting more.
We had a very nice birthday dinner here. Chef Michael went above and beyond with his delicious tasting menu that accommodated our gluten and dairy allergies. Please make allergy requests a few days or a week in advance to give the chef time to prepare! The highlights were the fish risotto, scallops, and the desert. We’ll be back!

Pretty good. Service was a bit out though. Food was good but expected a but more to be honest, but the owner/chef was really friendly.

Delightful. We picked this resturant due to it being in the Michelin guide. It was a choice of set menu only and I was worried I would struggle with 3 courses for lunch but it was perfectly portioned. We had the smoked haddock ravioli and chicken liver parfait for starters, followed by chuck beef and fish of the day and then eclair and the apple deserts. So good. Will come back to try one of the other menus.
Michael D — Google review
Came here with big expectation, but my experience was not what I'd have expected from Michelin restaurant. Starting with the food: the first course was pretty good, even if (my personal taste) veal tongue and anchovies do not couple perfectly on same dish. Second dish was beef sirloin, but the meat I got was hard and full of nerves, difficult to chew. Really disappointed. Last cheese, and that was perfectly in order. Unfortunately the bad part was the service: when the waitress came and I complained about the meat she answered me that "the meat has to be hard"!!! At the end of the dinner, we had to wait for the waitress to come back, she went out smoking... And when we were leaving the table, the chef came to explain me that perhaps the meat was hard also because he overcooked that, since "Italians always eat the meat overcooked"!!! I hope he was only trying to make a joke, in a very poor way. By the way, when in a restaurant they know they can cook in different ways, and I'm asked, I answer "still alive". Last note I have to say other people in my group were pretty satisfied with the menus

This was 5* - this was a highlight of our stay. We had been to 6 or 7 other restaurants in Briancon and surrounding villages but this was highlight of our stay. Amazing food, great menu, great wines and very friendly chef and staff. They could not find our booking (I called 17.58 on 22nd of Dec to make a reservation for 5th of Jan) - but were kind enough to still host us. It’s a real shame that there I think were 6 people that didn’t turn up 😡 during the course of the evening. They should consider 1) taking card details and charging £20 per person in event of no-show or 2) hold the table for max 15 mins and if the people are late, it can be opened up for walk ins. We will no doubt visit you again when we are back in Serre Chevalier again.

We actually had a horrbible experience. 6 of us went in around 8 pm to have dinner. First we were happy, cause the place was half empty, so thought it is a good time to come. Asked for a table for 6 (what is not a big number) then the waiter told us they can't give us table for 6. I was so confused as I looked around and I saw empty tables. He never said why, he just said they can't... I was about to go, but one of my roomate asked them to rethink. After a minute they gave us seats in the bar area (what I thought is a joke. If I were alone I'd have leave inmediatley). We sat, asked for a beer and the menu. They gave us french menu what is funny cause none of us speaks french, so I asked for an english menu. They said they don't have english menu what is very odd in a skii resort... They never offered to help to understand the menu. I told them I don't eat because I don't understand a word and they just smiled, never said anything... My friends then ordered burger cause that was the only thing they could read on the menu. In the meantime the bar was getting crouded and loud and we were sitting at 3 small tables next to a game machine while there were more empty tables in the restaurant area. It was so uncomfortable. This is just NOT RIGHt! It is not customer service. People shouldn't ask if they can spend their money in a restaurant. I was truly shocked as I've never ever experienced this rude behavior from restaurant staff.

Mountain cable car
The Télécabine du Prorel is a cable car located in Serre Chevalier, offering a convenient ride from Avenue Rene Froger to Le Prorel, one of the highest points in the Grand Serre Chevalier mountain range. From its summit at 2556m, visitors can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views over Briancon. While some find it slightly outdated and in need of renovation, others appreciate its convenience for accessing the center of Briancon and the stunning vistas all around.
Really good. Great views from the top!

Convenient location and well organised. Can get busy in the mornings but only about a 10-15 minute wait. The gondolas themselves are quite small and old fashioned: no proper seats but it does the job.

We found out (too late) that this lift is open only at very limited time of the day. When we bought our pass (19€/person), we were told we could enjoy the lifts all day long until about 5.00pm. This is a real disappointment and clearly unacceptable.

If you just want to go up to the top, and hike down, it's 18 euros. A rip-off. Should be 7 or 8. So they lost 7 or 8 in order to try and get 18 euros off me. They need to change their pricing strategy. While I arrived, four other people came and also left because of the crazy price. So they lost 5 clients, like 50 euros, because of this strategy.

Lovely food, excellent service. The proprietor kindly allowed me to try speaking my poor French without correcting me. We had the plat du jour (a wonderful homemade pot au feu) followed by quite possibly the *best* apple crumble we have ever tasted. Simply delicious 😋

Nestled in the charming town of Briançon, Le Pêché Gourmand is a delightful dining destination that beautifully marries French elegance with a touch of Australian inspiration. This intimate restaurant, recognized as a "Maitre Restaurateur," offers an inviting atmosphere where guests can savor exquisite dishes and delectable pastries crafted by the talented Frannais couple.
We had an exceptional dinner at Le Peche Gourmand. We opted for the surprise menu, which was absolutely amazing! Service one of the best we ever had done by two people, helpful, kind, elegant! Food was perfect in every aspect, with every dish being even best by the previous! Cheese platter and also migniardise were excellent too! Would highly recommend and visit again!
V M — Google review
The food was delicious, the service was polished and attentive and the atmosphere was sophisticated but not pretentious. The dishes were creative but it all worked. I had the pike dumplings (perfect balance of flavours), scallops with black pudding (liked it was using local ingredients and it was tasty) and the different forms of kiwi dessert (light, refreshing way to end the meal).
Christine K — Google review
Great fine dining at reasonable price. The 3-course menu was perfect. Highly recommend the scallop for starter, and the pear and chocolate tart desserts were excellent. The Cigar dessert was very smoky, so wouldn’t recommend to all. Service was friendly by the lovely husband and wife owners. Ambience was ok, although very quiet for a Friday night. Note if vegetarian, mention this when booking in advance

Le Pêché Gourmand in Briançon definitely earns a solid five stars from me! During my recent visit, I hadn't mentioned my vegetarian preferences in advance, yet they crafted a fantastic dish just for me. Their flexibility and effort to accommodate dietary needs were truly impressive. It's worth considering informing them ahead of time if you have specific dietary requirements. Nevertheless, I appreciated their ability to adapt without notice. It would be wonderful to see a permanent vegetarian main option added to their menu. Nonetheless, their outstanding food and service make this restaurant a must-visit in Briançon!

Chanced upon this lovely little restaurant while treating ourselves to a rest day lunch, and what a pleasant surprise. Run by a Franco-Australian couple, the service was impeccable and the food top class. Reasonably priced and unpretentious and well worth treating yourself to a visit. The food was ok. My steak was meant to be "medium" but was rare maybe medium rare. The service was bordering on rude, forgotten items, mixing up our order and seemed to resent the service. It was also slow. The bar staff seemed to know about incorrect orders as when we returned to the bar they presented the correct order without prompting. There is lots of choice here and no need to put up with sub standard service and food.

Nice place, bit mixed, salad great, burger, just too much in it, I could barely taste the actual meat part. Sometimes more isn't better, and addso much sauce and an egg etc, almost impossible to eat without dripping all over yourself, and the bun fell apart in a soggy mush. However, there were so many flies, continually landing on me, I couldn't get out of there fast enough. Staff very nice though.

Came here for a date night dinner on holiday and we were not disappointed. We had tried to come a few days earlier but it was fully booked so recommend you book in advance. The staff were really lovely and helped translate certain items on the menu. Food was absolutely delicious, we had 2 burgers followed by the orange and almond tart. It was a bit more expensive than some places but 100% worth it. The place had a really comforting and welcoming vibe too, kind of a wine bar with excellent food

Fortress
Fort du Randouillet offers splendid panoramic views of the surrounding area, including the Fort des Trois Tetes and Fort des Salettes. Visitors can enjoy a cozy Alpine eatery while taking in the breathtaking scenery. However, some visitors have noted challenges such as a lack of clear signage and limited information in major languages at the site. Additionally, it is recommended to visit with a guide for detailed insights, especially if French fluency is not strong.

Well worth visiting. Amazing views over the other forts and town. Unfortunately not living up to their WORLD heritage status. No signs indicating rout to get there. The only information board in the car park not in the major world languages and not about the forts. Very sloppy. (Translated by Google) Terrific viewpoint over Briançon and the Vauban city below. Accessible by vehicle from the northwest but be careful, no parking at the top and difficult crossing on the way up. Otherwise accessible on foot from Briançon. (Original) Point de vue formidable sur Briançon et la cité Vauban en contre bas. Accessible en véhicule depuis le nord ouest mais attention pas de parking en haut et croisement difficile dans la montée. Sinon accessible a pied depuis Briançon.

(Translated by Google) Very beautiful scenery. But if you're not athletic, stay below. Personally, I found it challenging for my age and as a senior. (Original) Très beau paysage. Mais si vous n'êtes pas sportif reste en bas. Pour ma part j'ai trouvé ça éprouvant pour mon âge et de sénior.

(Translated by Google) Beautiful walk, I would say among the most beautiful starting from Briancon town. The path is well marked, large, quite agile. It seems like a stone's throw away but instead it is less short than it seems but not tiring. Enough for all slightly trained people. Beautiful in spring and from autumn to winter especially when it snows. The view on all the forts is wide and clean. You can do a circular tour although in my opinion the most beautiful part is the path that goes up from the Ancien Fort des Sallettes (Original) Bella passeggiata, direi tra le più belle partendo da Briancon paese. Il sentiero è ben segnalato, grande, abbastanza agile. Sembra a due passi ed invece è meno corta di quel che sembra però non stancante. Abbastanza per tutte le persone un pó allenate. Bello in primavera e dall'autunno all'inverno soprattutto quando nevica. La vista su tutti i fortini è ampia e pulita. Si può fare un giro ad anello anche se secondo me la parte più bella è quella del sentiero che sale dall'Ancien Fort des Sallettes

Welcome to Au Pékin, a beloved establishment nestled in the heart of Briançon on the picturesque Rue Centrale. This restaurant stands as a must-visit for those who crave authentic Chinese cuisine, providing an unforgettable dining experience in a cozy and inviting atmosphere. At Au Pékin, you'll find an extensive menu filled with traditional Chinese dishes crafted from fresh, high-quality ingredients. Good food, very good service. The Kag Liang Chiew drink is recommended!

Food was average unfortunately. Very quiet. Heating not on so we had to sit in our coats. Food tasted ok but for the cost it only just gets two stars.
Graham T — Google review
Very average food, small portions and slow service. Pretty much zero vegetarian options (No Tofu etc.). It’s not even real Chinese food but rather this kind of westernised fake Chinese food.
Markus L — Google review
I have gone previously to much better service but this time it wasn't good.. We ordered as appetizers shiomai, it took 30 minutes to make them and the place was near empty, after the main course of crunchy fried rice with shrimp just didn't live up to what it tastes like in other restaurants. It is the only Chinese in the area but I recommend going elsewhere in briançon.

This restaurant is located near the centre of Briancon and has a nice feel to it. The staff are pleasant and speak English. The restaurant is very clean. The food for me was a little bland it was well cooked but I found it boring.

It's a Chinese - Thai restaurant. The quality is good indeed (owners are Laotian). Thai staples are super. They even have real chinese wine!

Los Amigos is a delightful hidden gem that you absolutely must visit! I stumbled upon this charming spot one evening when other restaurants were either full or closed, and it felt like I struck gold. The burgers here are among the best I've ever tasted; I highly recommend trying the Raclette burger and the Big B Burger. While we also shared a tortilla, it didn't quite match up to those incredible burgers. The friendly service adds to the experience, making every meal feel special.
An incredibly delicious hidden gem. Came here the other night due to most restaurants being full or closed and think we struck gold. Not the best photo but genuinely some of the best burgers we've ever tasted! We had the Racclette burger and Big B Burger and a tortilla to share however this wasn't quite as good as the burgers. Also, absolute steal for the price

Three very hungry Scottish cyclists cycling Geneva to Nice came in here and needed lots of food quick! Easy menu, very helpful staff, great food, arrived very quickly and we demolished it in no short order! Very reasonably priced too. Thoroughly recommend for those that need good calorific food quickly.

The owner behind the counter in his muscle shirt is an absolute legend and extremely friendly. I'm a professional firefighter myself, but no fire has been as hot and spicy as the Burito I had. When asked, there was only a joyful comment that he grows the chillis himself, absolutely wild guy. My mother raised no quitter, but damm, I don't want to know what you get when you order something spicy xD 15 euros for a complete menu is a good price, I will definitely report again when I have the taste in my mouth back again :D

Friendly service and delicious coffee. Combined with a croissant from a nearby bakery is an excellent start to the day. Important information, for small payments (i.e. coffe) use cash.

French restaurant
La Vigne is a hidden gem that beautifully blends Italian and French culinary traditions, thanks to the passionate chef-owner who brings an authentic charm to the dining experience. From the moment you step inside, you’re welcomed like family, with warm hospitality complemented by his delightful dog and supportive wife. The atmosphere is inviting, making it easy to relax and enjoy your meal. Diners rave about the generous portions and flavorful dishes at reasonable prices, highlighting how every aspect of their visit feels thoughtfully curated.
Pure 5 out of 5 experience, authentic genuine charm, enthusiasm exuded by chef proprietor from Italy, who has adapted magnificently to French cuisine, truly best of both worlds! Makes you feel like one of the family, charming dog and wife completes the already perfect scene! And to top it all off, we were having problems with our payment card, to which the kind gentleman responded by saying that if it didn't work he would trust us to pay if we ever passed through again.. extreme generosity!

Menu was cheap (16€) the soup and créme brule was great but the main this was raw. Staff's nice, and the view is great...

Very slow and rude service. Female staff member with pixie short white hair was a disgrace. I was there for 25 minutes with her watching me and serving others nearby (most tables were empty). She had directed me to a table. She eventually shouted from far away, asking what I wanted. I left. Recommend to find somewhere else. A group of five arrived and left while I waited. Can't imagine how many customers are lost due to this one waiter.

Everything was perfect, the food was pretty good amount, taste and prices. The people of service also very kind and always solving our doubts. One of the best places to eat if you are on Briançon.
Emilio R — Google review
Reserved table 5 hours before dining and when we arrived, was told they will not be serving us as they are 'messy'. 6 people in the restaurant, none of whom were eating. Was told they weren't busy, just not serving. All other restaurants were fully booked and we were left hungry on our final day of holiday. Disgusting attitude and terrible service. 100% avoid
Elliot S — Google review
The service is despicable, I wish I could give no star. We were four, in need to go to the bathrooms : we were ready to order if it was necessary, plus we wanted to have a break. We waited outside on the terrace and watched the waitress ignore us more than 4 times. We then decided to come in and ask inside for the toilets, which we saw as soon as we came in. The waitress came back in and I said hello. I didn’t even get the time to say anything else : she started to gesticulate without even looking at me, so I asked her to explain what was going on and she just said « we don’t have toilets here, go.» She literally threw us out without even knowing our intention. She lost 4 clients, that might be young, but still deserve respect.

Le Rustique is more than just a restaurant - it's an experience! Located in the old fortified town of Briancon, this cozy and soulful restaurant offers carefully prepared cuisine using quality products. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, with excellent service that ensures a memorable dining experience. Guests can enjoy sitting at unique tables, such as an old wooden sleigh or a large round table, adding to the charm of the place.
Very nice and cozy restaurant with soul. Everything we ate was amazingly delicious. The service is outstanding and very heartwarming. You don’t want to leave this place and you definitely want to come back again.

We were warmly welcomed by Claudine on arrival. The restaurant is run by her and her husband who are both very sweet. We had fondue and it was magnificent. It's a bit pricier than the outside of town but it's worth the extra money. We would definitely go again.

Lovely restaurant. Claudine was an excellent host with amazing relaxed service. Had the fresh trout which was excellent. Especially enjoyed the Franc powered jukebox!

We went for lunch, which was great, and again for dinner later in our visit to Briancon. And amazing restaurant for both, but the vibe is extra special for dinner. By far our favorite restaurant in Briancon. And also loved all the quirks.. like the juke box (which they provide you with Francs to operate)!

Very cozy atmosphere and the steaks with their sauces where delicious. Claudine is very pleasant and was very caring for details to make the lunch very enjoyable.

This is so much more than a restaurant - it's an experience! My husband, mother-in-law and I had a wonderful evening at Le Rustique. We sat down at our table next to the window in an old wooden sleigh and immediately noticed a deck of cards in front of us. We had been playing cards every evening on holiday so far, so were pleased we could continue this tradition at the restaurant after our meal. The staff were so friendly and were there to make sure we were having a good time. At one point during the meal we were given a coin each to pick a song in the duke box. The food was traditional French style and delicious. The atmosphere was fun, relaxed, and had a good family feel to it. Would definitely recommend!

This is an historic restaurant, located in Briançon old town. Everything was grear: food, service, location, the atypical furniture, the atmosphere... if i'll come back to Briançon I'll surely return here I suggest to make a reservation, the place is small, reknown and often full.
