Farm
Mead Open Farm is a family-friendly destination with a variety of activities for both animal lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. The farm offers an animal petting zone, indoor play areas, high ropes course, go karts, and tractor rides. Visitors can enjoy interacting with animals such as pony grooming, feeding lambs, holding rabbits, and cheering on sheep racing. Shaggy's Play World provides over 13,000 square feet of indoor play space with giant drop slides and a net climber.
Had a fantastic time at Mead Open Farm for a birthday party! The soft play area is a hit for all ages, featuring exhilarating slides—including one almost vertical for the older kids—and a giant climbing frame in the outdoor play area that kept everyone entertained. The farm itself is lively, with a great variety of animals adding to the charm. While it’s an overall great experience, just keep an eye on the smallest ones as there are a few dodgy spots that could use extra supervision. Overall, it’s a brilliant venue for a memorable day out! The outside play area is a real highlight—spacious and perfect for a day out. There’s plenty of room for kids to explore and enjoy activities like the big climbing frame, making it a fantastic spot for active play. Plus, the picnic area is well laid out, offering a great spot to relax and enjoy a meal outdoors. With food options available on site, you can easily refuel without having to leave the fun behind. All in all, it’s a well-rounded destination that makes for a delightful family outing!

We had a wonderful time visiting for the Dino week. There were plenty of activities for the whole family, and our son especially enjoyed the "Time warp challenge" interactive show and the dino disco. The dinosaurs and cavemen were very entertaining 🤣 Our son would have happily followed them all day if we had let him. Not once did they break character. The play areas were a massive hit, both the indoor (which has a great selection of slides) and the outdoor. The cafe was good, a decent price, and had a great selection of cakes (the lemon doughnut was particularly yummy!) The animals all looked well cared for, and as with most farms, they offered lamb feeding and small animal petting, although we did not do this. There are plenty of handwashing stations if you do feed or touch the animals. We would definitely return and will look at booking for the Christmas event!

Mead Open Farm has become a family favourite for us! No matter how many times we visit, we always find a new adventure. The hands on fun of petting and feeding the animals is a great. The number of activities is incredible, from the silent disco and racing gokarts to the big inflatable ball that the kids can roll around in water. The new pirate themed splash park is a fantastic and welcome addition! Even the British weather can't spoil the fun, thanks to the massive indoor soft play centre with few nice slides. It's an action packed day out that we highly recommend.

Fantastic farm with loads of activities for your kids to enjoy. Daughter was entertained for the whole afternoon and it was a joy to see and feed the animals. Highly recommend. Loses a star because sadly they don't accept cash.

I don’t know wheee to begin. This place is AMAZING!! Finally got to go with the whole family today and there was something for everyone. The kids really enjoyed it. It’s such a unique offering. With both the farm animals which are so well groomed and looked after… to so many posh and adventure options. It’s a full day. It’s great value of money. We were thinking of going to a theme park but with our one year old we felt it would have been too much with all the queues. We are so happy we chose Mead. Was a stress free day. No long queues. Good food. And so much to choose from. The foam party was definitely a hit at the end!!!! Just go!!!!!
Cabrice S — Google review
Very mixed feelings about the farm. Comparing to others in Hertfordshire this is quite expensive for what you get. In terms of animals, if you are after goats and rabbits than that's the place. Other animals you can see - cows in the field, pigs in their little boxes. Soft play area nice. Food average, typical, popcorn chicken and chips from kids menu was ok. Play area spacious and well maintained. Will I come back? Not sure.

Mead Open Farm is a fantastic place for families. There are so many things to do, from animal petting to indoor play areas, high ropes, go karts and tractor rides. Highly recommended for a fun day out with children.

The Leighton Buzzard Railway, a historic light steam railway, offers visitors a 70 to 85-minute journey on tracks dating back to 1919. Originally used for transporting sand and materials from local quarries, it now operates as a popular steam train attraction in the UK. The railway showcases a collection of steam trains built between 1877 and 1936 and runs regular passenger services operated by volunteers.
A great experience for the kids, staff are fantastic & friendly. We did the pirates 🏴‍☠️ day which was a fun filled time. Trains leave every few hours. Parking next to the station is free so you’re only paying for the train ride, which we booked online before hand.
ADG — Google review
Great experience with my family. Our 4yr old absolutely loved it. We managed to secure front row seats, right behind steam train. Engine was beautifully restored. Sunny day, a bit of adventure when ash from the train caused a small fire near the tracks. Couldn't have asked for more. Truly memorable and fun-filled day. A+.

Great place for a family visit, especially if you’re into trains. I really enjoyed our little train ride,it was a lovely, relaxing trip with some fun stops along the way. There were a few kids' attractions that kept the little ones entertained, and at the Stonehenge Works Station, we found a nice selection of homemade souvenirs. All in all, a charming and enjoyable day out!
Andrzej S — Google review
This is an absolute must to visit if you want a different railway journey. It's run by volunteers who all do a fantastic job to keep this miniature railway running. Starting by pages park it travels along to the Stonehenge works crossing roads and running by homes you get to see Leighton Buzzard in a different view. We had a slight hiccup or a technical fault lol but that didn't disappoint us. They were apologetic and we weren't that late. It mirrors the problems of the grown up railway lol. I would highly recommend this and they cater for disabled people admirally

A miniature nostalgic trip. We visited this narrow gauge steam railway for the first time on its gala weekend, we were on the 1st train on the Sunday morning and had a great time
Anita B — Google review
Great narrow gauge railway with beautifully prepared locos and rolling stock. The experience would be even better if the line didn't traverse built up areas. Still, travelling behind a hard working ex-industrial loco is a treat not to be missed.

Fun afternoon out. It was a pirate day, and although my friends young lad did not want to participate in that, he loved the train ride and watching the pirates soak other people! The volunteers were lovely and knowledgeable answering questions.

Park
Pages Park is a must-visit destination for train enthusiasts, as it houses the largest collection of narrow-gauge locomotives in Britain. The park's railway has historical significance, being linked to the infamous 1963 Great Train Robbery. Additionally, visitors can enjoy various facilities such as tennis courts, a basketball court, a playground, and a football pitch. The park also features amenities like toilets at the train station and is wheelchair-friendly with options like a roundabout in the kids' playground.
When on the train in a group of 12 and loved it. My 3½ year old granddaughter had a smile from ear to ear and was so lovely to see. My mother who is 86 said it brought back some lovely memories of riding the old steam trains back in her younger years! Staff very helpful. Well recommend.

The Leighton Buzzard miniature railway is a great day out for families, railway enthusiasts and anyone interested in local history. The volunteers clearly love what they do and are very welcoming and keen to share their knowledge. Looking forward to our next visit.

Walked through the park today with the Walking 4 Health Group and found this lovely community garden which is maintained by volunteers.

We had an afternoon train ride for our grandson's 4th birthday. The train had a plaque with his name on it and had plenty of photos taken. He was even allowed to ride in the train cab with dad, for a short while. The staff were all wonderful, making a fuss of him and finding more small gifts for him and his little sister. Finally he was given his name plaque to take home. Definitely a must if you have kids or even if not. A superb ride through parts of Leighton Buzzard to the Stonehenge quarry and back. 1 1/2 hours in total. Extreme value for money, I would recommend it to anyone.
Mike D — Google review
It’s a nice park with some facilities such as toilets at the train station. There are tennis courts, a basketball court, a kids playground and a football pitch. The tennis nets could do with an update, and the goals could do with nets, but it’s a good park overall. The kid’s park is good and has options for people in a wheelchair, such as a roundabout. In the summer, there is a cricket club with a new pavilion and a croquet club. The grass is well maintained, except form the football area making it very muddy at times. There can be boggy areas when it rains. A community garden offers an area to relax and be peaceful, too. The Leighton Buzzard railway off to the side of the park takes you around the area of Leighton Buzzard. It runs at regular times, but is best to book. They also do various events such as Easter and Christmas, where you get to meet Santa. All in all, despite needing some refurbishment in places, Pages Park offers a lot of opportunities to people of different ages and interests and is worth a visit. It is always open and completely free, so there’s no harm in visiting.

If you're in Leighton Buzzard and looking for a delightful culinary experience, look no further than Cod & Waffle. This charming café specializes in British cuisine, offering an array of mouthwatering dishes that are sure to tantalize your taste buds. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot to relax with friends or family. With a focus on using fresh, local ingredients, every meal is crafted from scratch right on-site.
Me and my family love it here. We come most weekends for a breakfast. It’s a great relaxed atmosphere where you can take young children and not feel stressed. I have a dairy allergy and love that they provide alternatives so i can eat alongside everyone else without feeling left out! Lovely waffles. Great pancakes and a fantastic full english!

Lovely Staff, very friendly and waited open past their closing time for me to do a late order and collection, I appreciate it a lot. Food is great! It's so nice having a gluten free restaurant so close to home. Also has a little soft play area with a small ball pit and toys so kids would love it.
Ashley E — Google review
Lovely atmosphere, clean and does not give the feeling of a regular restaurant. A lovely kids area, if you have kids and amazing drinks selection if you want to have a taste of special drinks from certain parts of the world. Would prefer if they offered meal deals with drinks while ordering online as well.

I'm a regular customer who has been visiting weekly for the past year with a group of children and parents, and we've always had a positive experience—until today. Upon arrival, I was disappointed to find the facilities in poor condition. There was a soiled nappy in the toilets that had been there since Wednesday (it's now Friday), blood on the toilet surfaces, and a general lack of cleanliness throughout. When I sat down for my meal, I was served a substandard coffee that was both poorly made and incorrectly presented (served in the wrong cup and undersized, had a lovely one Wednesday in the right cup). Shortly after, a female staff member approached me regarding the soft play area. While I understood that children weren't permitted to use it, her manner was abrupt and unwelcoming, demonstrating a complete lack of customer service skills. The service issues continued when a young staff member was unable to explain what was included in the children's meal. The overall experience was so poor that I left without eating the food we had ordered. After a year of loyal patronage, I'm extremely disappointed and will not be returning. I really liked the main guy there, he’s great with our kids. But the girls he had working today were terrible.
Denis W — Google review
After living in the area for more than 3 years, we finally gave the cod and waffle a visit. It’s nice, spacious and bright inside with windows the whole length of the building. Service was great. We were seated straight away and able to order drinks. Their coffee was very nice. Moving to mains, their food lives up to the hype. They serve authentic tasting fish and chips in here which I didn’t expect. The cod looks freshly battered and tastes the part too. Gorgeous with their homemade tartare sauce. The chips are so morish as well. Same ones you’d get from a chippy. My stack burger however was the star of the show. Had it with some thick cut smoked bacon, burger sauce, pickles and cheese. Very messy but so succulent and flavourful. I was amazed that we have this food on our doorstep. They also have a selection of imported soft drinks and candies from the US/china which is an interesting touch!
James R — Google review
Went today and to be honest, I liked my chilli waffle but my husband hated his benedict waffle, he said it was dry and the sauce tasted funny. This is why I'm leaving a middling score.
Rachel W — Google review
Absolutely awful service and quality from here. I ordered through Just Eat. Food took ages to come. Driver stopped to get fuel on the way and sat with my food in the car for twenty minutes. When I phoned the restaurant to complain I was told nothing they would do as it was a Just Eat problem. The food arrived cold and inedible. It also smelt really foul. The fish was off. The smell was disgusting. I asked to speak to manager, who refused to speak to me. Was told report to Just Eat. I did say it’s the restaurants choice to use a delivery service but the restaurants responsibility to ensure food quality and standards are good. They didn’t care. I have reported to environmental health as this food I received is off. I wouldn’t touch it it smelt so bad. Do not use they don’t care about service at all.

Fast food restaurant
McDonald's is a classic fast-food chain that has stood the test of time, renowned for its iconic burgers and crispy fries. After 21 years of indulging in their offerings, I recently discovered a location that truly stands out. Since moving to the area just a month ago, I've visited several times and have been consistently impressed by how efficiently they handle orders—even during peak hours. The food arrives hot and fresh, without any off-putting flavors that can sometimes be found at other locations.
I’ve got 21 years of eating McDonald’s (29 now) and holy cow this is the best McDonald’s I’ve ever used. Moved here a month ago and have frequented a fair few times. Even in busy periods they smash out orders perfectly. The food is always hot and no weird taste like I used to find at my old McDonald’s in Watford. Really impressed by this one each time I come in. Top top marks from me! Always got lots of staff and even the staff cleaning out front are attentive. Never had my tray taken from to put in bin for me before today either but wow, didn’t think I could be so impressed by a McDonald’s. I know it’s a bit sad writing this much but credit due where credit is due.
Charlie R — Google review
Went through drive through, service was reasonable. I got 2 double sausage and egg mcmuffins for £10. Both looks like they where thrown together by a blind man. Zero care in prep, was it worth £10? Not really. BK is definitely better, if there was one in Leighton buzzard that would win over all day long.
Robert K — Google review
Try to avoid Leighton buzzards Mac ds like the plague, very poor service and attitude of staff and if you say anything you just get a young kid full of attitude unfortunately my son wanted it for his birthday. You got my money this time but would rather go to BK !
Angelo J — Google review
It's fine to take the edge off but food.... I'd hardly call it that. Cardboard fries and the meat was tasteless. The staff don't even look at you when handing you your order. If not with my kids, I avoid these places.
John C — Google review
As far as fast food goes I'm not really sure how comment, I mainly use the drive through and service is always good, I'm bit pissed off they have stopped doing the tripple cheese burgers but like there 20 nuggets deal I also like that there still using paper straws which is good for the marine environment and the main reason why I eat there...I tend to turn the straw upside down if it gets soggy,
James ( — Google review
I don't know whata going on at the mo, every time I go to a Mc Donald's the service is rubbish and atmosphere is crud. Maybe the app and self ordering has had an affect on the staff moral and attitude.
Ben R — Google review
Sunday morning had to ask for a refund as taken way too long to get my order and didn't wanted to be a Karen style customer but unfortunately when I have asked for a refund instead of getting a refund he said is there then the guy ignored me without information and walked off i guess he just left to find my order so i had to inform another member of staff that i want a refund What a waste of time They were making up excuses without me asking or wanting to know She's trying to say my order that i had extras etc Double sausage and egg with black coffee shouldn't take 10 minutes many people ordered after me got their meals already i was just waiting there patiently Next time all you have to say is sorry even if its just a lie I totally understand it's not easy working on Sunday morning but we'll I'm sure a customer trying to get a McDonald's in the morning it doesn't matter we customers don't count for a massive industry and probably staff either
Istvan O — Google review
There is no food hygiene in at this mc Donald's or there is and the managers think they don't have to wash there hands. The openly use dirty cloths and then Start preparing food!! or they are texting or touching there face its just rank all the staff including managers need to comply with basic standard of hygiene it's the LAW. ARGUEING WITH COSTOMERS WHEN THEY HIGHLIGHT BREACH OF HYGIENE THIS IS SO WRONG. I would definitely recommend not visiting this place

Rushmere Country Park spans 400 acres of ancient woodland, heathland, and meadows. The park offers a variety of activities such as hiking, biking, picnicking, and enjoying the cafe with a balcony overlooking the scenic views. It features different trails suitable for various levels of difficulty and a visitor center. Families can explore the children's sculpture trail and discover unique fairy doors around the park.
Beautiful all year round but particularly spectacular during the Autumn. Plenty of walks to choose from. Cafe, toilets and reasonably priced parking. All well maintained.

Our first visit to Rushmere Country Park, a great place to visit. We got a spot in the small car park 🚗 £7 for over 3 hours. Kiosk and toilets available. We bought a coffee and set out on a leisurely walk. Lots of different trails 👣 well kept paths, beautiful woodlands 🌳 welcome shade on a hot day. Lovely lake with seats to sit and chill, we saw a turtle 🐢 in the lake. More toilets, a cafe and children's playground near the bigger car park. There are trails for cycling 🚲 too. A very enjoyable day, we will visit again

Amazing forest, dog friendly with an enclosed dog park. Cafe is open during work hours open at 8am. You have to pay for the parking but the forest is so well maintained it is worth it!
Lauren G — Google review
Rushmere Country Park is undeniably a stunning spot for families—perfect for kids to play, dogs to romp, and nature to be admired. The trails offer a lovely way to soak in the sights and sounds of wildlife, but there’s a catch for bikers. This park is really designed for mountain bikes to be able to tackle its rugged terrain. If you’re expecting smooth, paved paths suitable for young children or a child’s bike trailer, think again! We learned the hard way and found ourselves navigating some challenging routes instead. The park is best suited for hiking and walking your dog(s). Watch out for the cow/horse/dog animal dung throughout the park. To make matters a bit trickier, the park's signage is not helpful as there are no arrows with color codes to let you know you're on the correct pathway. We struggled from the get go to find our way back to the main visitor center #1, which houses a charming café and ample parking—a children's playground ---what we really needed was a clear sign directing us there! A helpful park staff member provided a map and pointed out the orange trail designated for bikers, along with QR code signs for paying access to the private trailways. The rest are public bridleways, so at least there’s some accessibility for everyone. After carefully considering the map, we decided to dive into the adventure anyway, thinking we’d enjoy a relaxing ride. Unfortunately, the “one-hour” orange trail turned into a three-hour exhausting ordeal! Despite hoping for a straightforward journey, we left our first trail intersection disoriented. The signs were insufficient, and even following another biking family led us to a narrow and risky path, prompting us to retreat. In our search for a safer route, we stumbled upon a quaint fishing pond with its own small car park, only to find ourselves heading toward a main road—definitely not the scenic bike ride we had envisioned! We retraced our steps, passing the pond again, and finally stopped to check the park map. To our dismay, we realized we were completely off-course and ended up at a primary roadway that forced us to go back the way we came and found a sign that identified we were at point #12—much too far from where we needed to be on the orange trail. It became clear that the park maps needed significant updates; the color-coded trails on the visitor brochure were absent from the actual signs, and no information was given about the multiple car park locations or the fishing area we encountered. After a somewhat overwhelming experience, it was apparent why the visitor center suggests having the "What Three Words" app handy in emergencies—getting lost in this park is all too easy! The Green Trust owners must prioritize updating the park maps and signs with color coding and arrows clearly stating Visitor Center, this way, for improved visitor safety. However, we were fortunate to meet a kind lady with her cheerful yellow Labrador, who helped guide us back to Car Park #2. There, we met a friendly gentleman with an impressive gray dog. He was a local with vast knowledge of the park and gave us the much-needed directions to finally return to the visitor center. He informed us that Rushmere has three entrances—information that was missing from both the visitor brochure and the posted maps. Anyone can easily become lost. We originally set out for what we thought would be a quick 30-minute bike ride around the park at 3 p.m., only to return after 6 p.m., feeling a mix of exhaustion and frustration. We wouldn't have made it through that physically demanding time lost if my husband hadn’t packed water bottles and hydration electrolyte powder for both of us. A word of advice to future visitors: come prepared with a backpack of essentials—water being your top priority! After this misadventure, we firmly have no intention of returning. Consider us a one-time visitor! One and done!

A wonderful place to refresh your mind and soul. Yesterday was a golden autumn day, full of colorful leaves and autumn flowers. Fresh air, birdsong, sunshine, and the rustle of trees. Wonderful 🥰

Great place to come with the family. There is plenty of reasonably priced parking. The walking routes are all easy to follow so no danger of getting lost. The only downside is side is the children’s play park looked incomplete, there was no swings and the zip wire was closed off leaving only a small slide and a bird shaped climbing structure. There was a place to buy food and drink as well as a sit down restaurant. Overall great for bringing the family for a day out so would highly recommend.

Parish Church of Leighton Buzzard in the centre of town. Several hundred years old with a long history. Very impressive building with one of the tallest spires in England. Has an excellent organ fitted recently after a fire consumed the original one. Concerts are also held in the church occasionally. Worth a visit and has a coffee shop open on some days.

All Saints Church, Leighton Buzzard is the fine Early English parish church for the town of Leighton Buzzard in the English county of Bedfordshire. The church is dedicated to All Saints and has a 190ft spire and some outstanding medieval ironwork, graffiti and roofs, "aflutter" with carved angels gifted in the mid 15th century by Alice de la Pole, Countess of Suffolk and grand daughter of Geoffrey Chaucer. It has been described as the cathedral of South Bedfordshire (Bishop of St Albans at the re-hallowing ceremony on 7 May 1989) and is probably the finest church in the county (John Betjeman in Collins Guide to Parish Churches). Dating from 1277 it is the second church on the site. Such an old structure requires constant attention through its Preservation Trust. All Saints' has 25, late 14th century misericords, the weathering on the stalls probably indicates that they were in a builder's yard for some time - which is not as unusual as it may seem - their origin is unknown, some think they may have originated at St Albans Abbey, which was pretty much gutted at the time of the Dissolution of the Monasteries, although this cannot be proved, other suggestions range from Fountains Abbey (there is an historical connection) and more locally Chicksands Priory. It is also worth noting that the fan shaped slots at the free ends of the stalls are indicative that they have been shortened at some point.

Such a beautiful church. The tea rooms are excellent and a serve a large selection of delicious home made cakes. It was so good to see and sample some of their 'Free From' range. The tree festival was a wonderful community event.

A very warm and welcoming church with lots of activities for all the family. Regular services including Sunday school every Sunday at 9.15am and children's messy mass twice a month. The Spire coffee shop is open three days a week with lots of home made food plus cakes available with lots of seating. Very popular in town!
Sarah W — Google review
Well, are you considering this as a place of worship or for its architectural interest? As a place of worship it offers a very friendly community who will make you most welcome. As an architectural example it has much to offer, like so many town and village churches. As it developed and changed over the centuries, character and interest was added, so it's well worth a visit. A traditional layout with high altar, choir (with miserichords), altar screen, nave and aisles. Also a very nice wooden ceiling. As I said, well worth a visit.

The best in the business. I’ve been ordering coffee from these guys for many years and have actually visited when in the area once - extremely kind, welcoming and generous people. Can’t recommend enough!

I love everything about The House of Coffee. The shop, the service, the feeling of stepping back in time when you walk in, and of course the coffee itself!! Best coffee out there and makes Costa, Starbucks, Cafe Nero pale in comparison. So not to confuse HoC isn't a café but I'm taking about the coffee quality itself and how much better it is!! So invest in a proper expresso machine for home and save £££ by making your own 😊

Had a tea from the House of Coffee van at the Classic Car Show at the Walled Garden in Luton Hoo. Very nice tea and because the card machine wasn’t working, the owner said it wasn’t necessary to pay. Fantastic attitude in this day and age! Also met their marketing lady who was really nice and friendly (and I know it isn’t very PC to say so, but very easy on the eye too!) Will definitely look out for the van again.

Stonehenge Works Station is a stop on the Leighton Buzzard Narrow Gauge Railway, located in Pages Parks. The railway boasts the largest collection of narrow-gauge locomotives in Britain and played a role in the infamous 1963 Great Train Robbery. Visitors can witness sand loading demonstrations and learn about sand extraction and transportation processes from volunteer guides. The station features a cafe, gift shop, and displays of old steam engines.
Great piece of history, great fun for all the family and great value for money. Oh, and the staff were all lovely

Interesting sand terminal brought to life by the volunteers. Whilst we were there an old crane was loading sand onto the purpose built sand trucks, which can be tipped to unload the sand at the destination. One of the volunteer guides explained the process of extracting the sand and transporting it. There are other things to see and a café bar and nice little gift shop. We enjoyed it 😎👍👍👍

Just so delicious; the best food! Hadn’t planned or booked; an impromptu visit on a Saturday afternoon. Staff very welcoming and lovely atmosphere. Not expecting an on the house dish today of properly chef made pitta, garlic tomato chilli sauce, amazing olives, we over ordered but no worries we took a doggy bag away. Hummus was incredible and the fried goats cheese with jam was so spot on. Husbo had mixed grill mains and I had lamb chops with the silkiest rice and beautifully dressed super fresh salad. The grilled dishes were so perfectly done, crispy on the outside and perfect 👌 n the inside. Very very happy. Mevan is now my favourite restaurant!

Cafe
The Pantry, a charming café nestled in the heart of LB Town, offers a delightful dining experience. Their menu features delectable dishes like the three cheese Welsh rarebit and Eggs Royale with Smoked Salmon. The three cheese option is absolutely delicious, exuding an abundance of cheesiness and accompanied by a refreshing side salad. The Eggs Royale are equally enjoyable, boasting perfectly poached eggs.
Delicious Welsh Rarebit with mushrooms freshly made and came with a little salad. My friend had the breakfast that also looked really good. Lovely latte and the tea is served in a pot. Will definitely be back!
Judith M — Google review
Went to The Pantry for brunch on Sunday and fell in love with their garden. We ordered veggie breakfast, toast & jam and orange burrata salad. Breads were thickly cut and perfectly toasted. Burrata was as fresh as it can be. All in all, food was amazing. The service, on the other hand, was terribly slow. Appreciate that it was a busy morning with lots of customers and fewer staff however, we were sat there for well over 20 minutes waiting for someone to take our order. Even after reminding the waiting staff, nobody showed up for another 10 minutes. Then finally I had to walk over to the indoor payment counter for the staff to make a note of our order. Coffee was served immediately however food took good 15 minutes and even then they missed the burrata salad. While it’s my first experience at The Pantry and don’t want to be judgemental, it looks like others have reported similar experiences in the reviews which kinda indicates that they perhaps need more staff.
Shantanu K — Google review
We visited this restaurant with a small group—5 adults and 4 children, including a newborn. Despite the place being empty, the staff refused to push two tables together so we could sit together as a family, forcing us to separate the children at a different table. This was already inconvenient, especially with a newborn in the group. When it came to ordering, one of our friends—who is heavily pregnant—was attending to her young son in the restroom and wasn’t ready to place her order yet. Instead of accommodating this, the staff abruptly informed us that the kitchen was closing for last orders “right now,” leaving no flexibility. The food was very average and overpriced for what it was. To make matters worse, we had to ask three times for cutlery, and the service overall was abysmal. We felt like we were an inconvenience to the staff the entire time. We chose this restaurant hoping for a pleasant experience, but instead left feeling disappointed and unwelcome. Would not recommend.
Emily M — Google review
Great location and plenty of space, both indoors and out. The decorations are welcoming and give off a cosy vibe. Sadly, the food and coffee were below average – small portions and nothing memorable. For what you get, it’s definitely overpriced. It looks the part but doesn’t quite deliver. Worth a try once, but not somewhere I’d rush back to.

What they have done out the back of here is beautiful! You walk down the alley into this beautiful lit up area that could be anywhere in Europe! The staff were so friendly, welcoming and look after us well. The cocktails there are outstanding! Freshly made and all look great. Would recommend to all.

I came here this morning with my family. The staff were pleasant. The tea was not very hot and was very weak. They obviously didn’t warm the pot before making the tea . The bubble and squeak was disgustingly. It wasn’t crispy and tasted watery and boiled. The sausage tasted a bit raw . I’m surprised I haven’t had diarrhea and the food wasn’t hot

Fantastic cafe in the heart of LB Town! We got the three cheese Welsh rarebit and Eggs Royale with Smoked Salmon. The 3 cheese was scrumptious. As you can imagine very cheesy and came with a nice side of salad. The eggs royale was good too and the eggs poached perfectly. We also got a chai latte and special hot chocolate, both of which were very delicious. The hot chocolate comes with marshmallows, which aren't vegetarian, so they kindly substituted it for chocolate flakes. There is indoor seating as well as outdoor. The outdoor seating looks like very quaint and has an enchanted forest feeling. Would highly recommend. Will definitely try and visit again!

Came here first time. Nice place inside. Food tasted good but my stake was a little too weldone. Latte tasted great. My wife enjoyed her chicken and cheese baguette. My main critic is it too took a bit long to receive our food and it wasn't that busy. I will return as the food tasted good and hopefully will receive food a bit quicker.

These guys do a nice pint of lager and ale on the right day. Despite having 5 odd ale taps however, only two max seem to be on. Usually I miss out on a good one. I did find their London pride to be almost at draught lager temperature which ruined the taste for me. Did try scrum down by tring a few days later which was incredible! As for food, I’ve eaten here once and I’d say the food is decent! I ordered a 10oz steak with chips, rings, peas and a tomato. The food came out very fast, piping hot and delicious. Well worth a stop here for a quick lunch/meal out for sure!

I have only really been on a week day or to watch football, which narrows the experience. There are loads of TV's so there are ample opportunities to see the games, plus a large screen TV. The food is generic, don't get me wrong it is cooked well, but very much chain pub food. The beer selection is good and is reasonably priced, I have not had to wait long for service when visiting. The staff are welcoming.

National Trust - Ascott is a charming historic house and garden with seasonal opening. The property features an 'olde English' half-timbered Manor House housing an exceptional collection of art and oriental ceramics, surrounded by extensive gardens. Visitors can explore the house's architecture, antiques, furniture, and paintings while enjoying the beauty of nature through walking and wildlife spotting. Additionally, there is a cafe offering reasonably priced tea, coffee, sandwiches, and cakes as well as a shop on-site.
Amazing house and gardens. The house is huge, but only a small amount of it is open to the public, and photography isn’t allowed inside. The gardens are endless, with loads of views over the area, and you can even see the white lion. No use using google maps to look around it because the satellite imagery is 16 years old.

Beautiful house and gardens. A national trust property, free entry to members. Plenty of on site parking. Toilets and a tea house. The house is accessible for looking around, only 5 rooms are open for viewing on the ground floor. Upstairs is not open to the public. You do have to book a time slot for the house, although we were unaware of this as do not recall it being mentioned online. Luckily as we were both members one of the volunteers allowed us access on presentation of our membership cards. Rooms were stunning with nothing altered, it is still sometimes used a family home from my understanding. No cameras are allowed inside the house. The gardens are equally as stunning, a pond and water features in various locations. Great for having a picnic. Highly recommend a visit.

Glorious intimate house in exquisite three hundred and fifty acre grounds. There is some interesting fauna and an unusual modern futuristic garden reminiscent of UFO’s as well as a glorious vast lily pond that used to be used for skating in the winter with an adjacent thatched outbuilding. The views across the Chilterns towards the lion at Whipsnade are spectacular and the grazing horses. There is a charming tea room quintessentially English serving sandwiches and sausage rolls and occasional hot meals. Car parking is easy and the environment feels so relaxing.never crowded. The house is glorious a combination of Cheshire and Tudor architecture inspired by Lutyens. The magpie architecture and juxtapositioned roofs are charming. The Rothschild’s who amassed an eclectic collection of furniture and valuable art by Joshua Reynolds ,Stubbs and many others make visiting the house an essential part of your visit. French satin wood commodes and serpentine fronted escritoires proliferate everywhere. To summarise a great National Trust venue
Richard J — Google review
Our first time visiting these beautiful gardens, we loved it. Very pleasant to stroll around. We spent a couple of hours here including a quick lunch at the Pavilion café. Freshly prepared quiche and sandwiches were both good. The house was closed when we visited but we will come back another time to look inside. It's free entry with National Trust membership but tickets must must be booked in advance, and tours only run on a few dates, so check the website beforehand.

I can't think of anything that I dislike about this place!!!! My mum and I visited today and my favourite part was the black and white house so seeing that on the outside, and the awesome flowers that are around the gardens!! We spent the whole afternoon here today and it was just georgous, both of us loved the gardens, the nature, the tearoom and everything about this. Helpful staff and lovely national trust volunteers, we will come back, beautiful location! 🏞️ A nice place to have short walk! This place is amazing!!! Nicely signposted!!

A beautiful place to come in spring. There are so many wonderful flowers here and the gardens are very well presented, with lots of water fountains and breathtaking views. The house is also an interesting place to visit, but it is on the smaller side.
Traveler — Google review
Not the biggest NT site, but certainly one of the best - it is absolutely stunning in the sunshine! Went today (10/05/25) and got there just as it opened, which meant being able to appreciate the grounds before it got too busy. Best bit for me was the wonderful views of the Chilterns, especially Lion Point at Whipsnade 8 miles south. Wasn’t able to see the house, but will be back to do that in the near future.

Each visit reveals a treasure trove of eclectic items, making it feel like a delightful adventure every time you step inside.
A wonderfully eclectic display of old and restored household items and furniture. We have found some real gems. The owners are very helpful. Well worth a visit!

An interesting furniture outlet based in units on the right hand side of the road just after leaving Wing heading to Aylesbury. It’s full of recycled/restored/made good furniture and other interior fixture and fitting. I took a fancy to several items and will return for another look. Apparently the stock constantly changes so checking the web site is a good idea if your looking for something in particular. I’m a bit confused by the name as all the signage points to the business being called ‘vintage living interiors’. Well worth a look if you are passing

We have visited several times after seeing amazing items on Facebook and we haven’t been disappointed, the shop is a treasure chest of beautiful items. We look forward to warm welcome from the friendly staff every time. Hope to back soon to purchase more !⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Well worth a visit.

Nature & Parks
Parks
Tiddenfoot Waterside Park, owned by Central Bedfordshire Council, is a tranquil destination featuring a former sand quarry transformed into a serene fishing lake surrounded by willow woodlands. Visitors can enjoy leisurely walks around the lake and explore the renovated bird watch area while encountering abundant wildlife. The park offers gravel paths that remain relatively mud-free in winter, making it ideal for walking with dogs. Additionally, visitors can extend their stroll along the Grand Union Canal path and over bridges for an added scenic experience.
Very pleasant walk round. Dogs enjoy the many smells and views. Lots of fishing chilling the night away. Must be a safe place due to the amount of fishermen staying overnight. Right next to the canal not far from the Grove Lock.
JJ — Google review
Nice place to visit and because it has gravelled paths doesn't get too muddy in the winter. You can walk around the lake and take your dog. Only one poop bin at the entrance though. Be careful of the swans and don't disturb them in early summer when they are protective of their young.
Gemore J — Google review
We walked to Tiddenfoot Waterside Park along the canal from the Grove Lock Marina. The area is very popular with fishermen and dog walkers and the lake is a nice size to walk around without too much difficulty, although I understand that low lying areas can flood in heavy rains. It's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area, but be aware that there is a height barrier on the car park preventing access to anything larger than a car.
Barrie P — Google review
Lovely place for a walk, full of lovely people walking their dogs or fishing. will relax your mind
James H — Google review
A small lake and popular with fishermen. A nice walk and well laid out paths. Free carpark to boot. There is a bird hide to sit and enjoy the views.
Desmond B — Google review
I love walking here, always peaceful and plenty of wildlife to see on the lake. The lake gives a nice walk all the way round. It has recently been renovated with a bird watch area and all the fencing updated. Few little wooden play areas along the way for the children. The dog loves it as well and the right time of year has a paddle in the water. Other times he's not allowed as don't like to disturb the signets or ducklings. The walk can be extended by going along the canal path and over bridges. Car parking is free.
Samantha M — Google review
Beautiful place.... more seating areas needed though ... my dog loves it....he'll either jump in the lake....or just sit watching the ducks

Marks & Spencer, often referred to as M&S, is a beloved destination for food enthusiasts. This store offers an impressive selection of high-quality products, particularly in the realm of fresh fruits and vegetables. Shoppers frequently praise the friendly staff who are always ready to assist, although some have noted that waiting times at self-checkout can be a bit lengthy.
Recently moved nearby and I think this is a great store, helpful staff, well stocked shelves, good store layout too
Julia W — Google review
Sometimes things go wrong, no one’s fault in particular but these things just happen. We had a special order for a sad and stressful family occasion. The whole of our order hadn’t arrived, this could have been a massive drama, but the lovely Danielle was so apologetic and sorted everything out swiftly. Staff are the true asset to any business. Thank you 🙏🏻
Ciara A — Google review
Went in there for food shopping. Everything, I wanted, was there. Friendly staff. You cannot beat M&S food, especially fruit and vegetables.
Glynis C — Google review
Great for food and drink. The only thing that i think could be improved is you often have to wait for a member of staff to assist you at the self checkout till. Also, the-self service tills with weighing scales attached are very temperamental so best avoided. They also do not seem to sell fresh garlic or ginger. And the toiletries department could do with expanding a bit for emergency, antiperspirant etc!

Great real ale straight from the cask, fantastically refreshing during this heat, as well as atmosphere. Exceptionally relaxed and welcoming with great service. Must visit for any craft beer lover who enjoys local brews.

A very cosy hidden brewery/bar on an industrial estate. Popped in for a quick beer on a Friday in the early evening and was impressed by the friendliness and quality of the beer. A nice find worth a visit although they're only open as a bar Friday and Saturday for a few hours.

Some of the most amazing beer I have ever tasted, I recommend this place to all the beer lovers out there. They are regularly putting on events which range from Open Days to Comedy nights. The diner is out of the way but still well placed for a cafe. The staff are lovely and the food is well prepared. The menu is varied with space to adapt if needed. Parking is limited, when I went there were few customers but no parking, so worth looking nearby for a suitable space.

Been here before and service has always been great from a couple of regular staff! Today came with some family members explaining how nice this place was to be greeted by an unknown female server that was anything but friendly! We had just sat down and she was calling us to pay! RUDE LADY with no customerservice skills!! Will not be returning due to this experience...unfortunately do not know her name but she is a much larger lady than the other two lovely ladies that were on duty today.
J W — Google review
Popped in there last week just as they were opening up. Very hard work conversation wise with the woman i met at the door. Could have at least been a bit more friendlier and welcoming. I'll put it down to being early morning for her being miserable looking🙄. I dont expect a full on conversation but a bit of a warm welcome would have been nice. I'd been on the road since 4am so all i wanted before my 8am meeting in that area was a nice hot brew and a bacon butty while i rested up. Big sign on the road saying cafe but had to ask a chap in another unit where it was. Above the door was not a sign for a cafe🙄 so you cant tell where it is. 🤔

Fast food restaurant
Nestled in the vibrant Grovebury Retail Park, KFC Leighton Buzzard is a must-visit for fried chicken enthusiasts. This iconic restaurant chain has been serving up its famous buckets of crispy goodness since 1952, ensuring that every bite is packed with flavor and quality. Whether you're craving a quick meal or looking to indulge in some classic comfort food, KFC delivers on all fronts with their Finger Lickin' Good offerings.
Just opened today, service was speedy. Got the order slightly wrong but understand that it was pretty hectic. Very clean and lots of seating. Can see the queuing system being a little cramped for ordering and collecting. Food was great as you would expect from KFC
Lewis ( — Google review
We just went to get some food to eat home. When I checked my wrap at home I realised is dry, more than half empty and the chichen is burnt. All the chicken in our order looks old and burnt. I understand it’s a busy store but that shouldn’t matter. The quality of the food should be the same. Not just throw some old stuff in a wrap and give it away to customers.
Ana T — Google review
Came there Tuesday for 2 bargain buckets which we got and a few other bits the lady on drive through was amazing very nice polite moving on to the chicken some of the chicken in the 2nd buck wasn’t cooked all the way so I stopped eating it and I got my nephew and nieces to stop as well. It was too late the day after me my sister and her children all ended up with food poisoning. I’m not too bothered about myself but when it comes to my nephew and nieces, it’s a different story. You should really do better I 100% will not be coming back to that store couldn’t trust whatever has been cooked or not properly
Phillip W — Google review
Ordered through JustEat at 19.17pm for a 19.55pm delivery. But it’s a Friday so we would not be entirely surprised if it’s a bit late - it happens. What we don’t expect is to still be waiting for KFC to even start on making order at 21.10pm. How on earth can you be SO far behind?? Over an hour and half since ordering! The phone number they have provided you to call on the app doesn’t even ring so you can’t speak to anyone. The order showed absolutely no sign of movement so we gave up, cancelled the whole order and went to McDonalds - spent our money there and got fed within half an hour. Well done for giving business to your competitor. No reason for leaving an order unprocessed for that long. And update your phone number for this branch - a number that doesn’t even ring just screams ‘can’t be arsed to talk to customers’ when they actually need to speak to someone to sort the issue out.
Beverley H — Google review
Sadly didn’t receive what I ordered and being drive through, I only found out when I got home. Thankfully it was edible, as I don’t like spicy. Asked for 2 pieces of chicken with chips as a meal with coleslaw substitution for a drink and I received 3 mini fillets with chips and a mayo dip. They even asked me three times what I ordered.
Jill — Google review
I had a good review on this place and I’ve had to change it. I’ve had so many orders from this place and none of them were bad. I’ve just ordered a burger and it was extremely disappointing. Had like one bit of lettuce and a blob of sauce. Disappointing. Was also quite bland. I even think some of the chicken was raw but that may have just been me.
TheEndZombo — Google review
Wow, the price has set up from when I last visited. But overall it was a nice chicken burger meal with fries which had a nice flavour and a Pepsi max
Amanda C — Google review
We have been to several KFC’s in the area and this is now the only one we will eat at. Our son has additional needs and the staff are always really helpful and accommodating, especially Jeanette and Liz. It’s nice to find a restaurant where we are made welcome.

Always a great meal! We always visit for special occasions and they never fail to provide good food with attentive service. They look after their customers and that's what sets Cafe Zeera apart from others. All dishes have distinct flavours and don't all taste the same (unlike many other restaurants). Happy to cater for different tastes and preferences, with a good knowledge of dish types. Will definitely visit again and recommend it to everyone!

This truely is the best Indian restaurant I have ever been to. The food is always outstanding -fresh, full of flavour and well presented. The staff are always incredibly friendly and inviting, and are happy to help if you are not sure what you want. They have varied menu which is reasonably priced and well set out, no one will leave hungry! Eat-in, takeaway and collection available.

We were seated at the far end (4 of us). It was a warm night, and it was lovely when the doors opened to let some cool air in. We settled into our seats, and someone came over to take our order. One of the staff came over and put some popadoms and the sauces on our table they were tasty . The drinks came 1st followed by our meals, the mixed grill was sizzling away on the hot plait. I had a tikka masala with mushroom rice. The chicken pieces were huge, the rice was lovely and fresh, and the whole meal was really tasty. We all said how tasty our meals were . It was plentiful and a good price. Lovely evening , we carried on chatting whilst they had indan music softly playing in the background. We eventually gave up our seats as it started to get busy. Cannot wait for the next time we visit Cafe Zeera.

I rarely write reviews as my husband normally does it but I had to write one today. Had lunch here with two friends and felt not only very welcomed, but I have a dairy intolerance and at no point did I feel awkward, in fact the very opposite, I felt very welcomed. Lots of choice and because it is all homemade they know what is in their food! Will definitely be going back to meet up with friends again. Thank you to the lovely team who looked after us! We loved it.

Ian K — Google review
Don't believe these glowing reviews. Whilst the staff are wonderful, some parts of the pub are comfortable, unfortunately we were parked in a drab dark corner with terrible music. The Sunday lunch was bland, watery gravy and wafer thin cuts of tasteless lamb plus rock hard roast potatoes. The 2 stars are for the staff. Felt badly short changed for the nearly £50 spent for a meal for two.
