London Luton Airport

Airport
International airport
London Luton Airport is a hilltop airport that primarily serves domestic and European destinations, particularly by low-cost airlines. It offers plentiful transfer options such as bus and rail services. While public transportation is easily accessible, traveling by car may be the best option to reach most attractions. The terminal is spacious and clean with ample facilities including restrooms, water filling stations, restaurants, cafes, duty-free shops, clear directional signs, and a variety of amenities for travelers' convenience.
Departing from Luton Airport was a smooth and efficient experience that made traveling stress-free. The airport was easy to reach, and once inside, I found it well-organized with clear signage that made check-in and security straightforward. The staff were helpful and kept everything moving quickly, which I really appreciated. I also enjoyed the variety of shops and cafés, which made waiting for my flight more comfortable. The atmosphere was lively yet well-managed, and the facilities were clean and modern. Luton Airport provided a seamless departure experience and left me with a very positive impression.
Mohsin R — Google review
I had a few flights here along the time so I will share my key take-aways: - if you have a connection, speak to the staff, they will guide you to cut the queues. - mornings are extremely busy, do take into account their recommendation to arrive 2.5 - 3 hours earlier (if you also want to check out their shops and do some shopping). - if it is a straightforward go to the gate, the standard 2 hours will suffice. - you might not get seats in the crowded mornings. At 11 am was decent, but at 6 was full. - the bathrooms are mostly clean, but again, get ready to queue when the flight schedule is busy.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Brilliant Experience at Luton Airport! I recently passed through Luton Airport for the first time in over a decade, and what an amazing transformation! The upgrades made in recent years have completely paid off — creating a travel experience that, in my opinion, now outshines other outer London airports. The journey from St Pancras was quick and easy, with the Luton DART transfer being an absolute game-changer — efficient, modern, and seamless. Check-in and security were smooth and well organised, and the internal layout of the airport is clear, well signed, and pleasantly uncluttered. I was also impressed by the range of food and shopping options, and the staff were fantastic — friendly, helpful, and professional throughout. It made my recent weekend trip completely stress-free and genuinely enjoyable from start to finish. Congratulations to everyone involved in the redesign and to all the staff who make the airport run so smoothly. A truly brilliant job, Luton Airport!
N D — Google review
I recently flew from Luton Airport to Amsterdam and had a really good experience overall. The staff were very courteous and helpful throughout the process, from check-in to security. The airport itself was clean, organised, and easy to navigate, which made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. There are also some nice coffee shops where you can relax before your flight, a pleasant surprise compared to many other busy airports. Overall, a solid 4-star experience, efficient, friendly, and comfortable!
A S — Google review
The airport itself is fine for the most part — check-in and security were reasonably smooth, and staff were polite. However, during this recent heat wave the air conditioning was almost nonexistent. It was uncomfortably hot in the terminal, making the wait for boarding unpleasant. A bit more attention to climate control would make a big difference for passenger comfort.
Mohamed F — Google review
Good food options and clean toilets. A bit crammed and long walk outside from terminal to the car park and drop off/pick up. They even have shops outside. It’s really not nice when you have to walk in the freezing cold. They need to build an extension and cover the walkway to carpark.
Oana G — Google review
The access between Luton Airport and the center of London is not the most convenient, yet once you are at the airport, you find it very convenient and efficient. I got there very early in the morning. The place was fully crowded, but the check-in and security went very quickly. Inside, there is a large number of the usual duty-free stores, as well as a variety of restaurants and coffee shops. I spent more than two hours there—it was bearable…..
Gaby — Google review
Luton is by far my most hated airport. It feels so far away, and the transport links are poor, which already makes the journey stressful before you even arrive. Once you get there, the building itself feels like a giant tin shed, always crammed with people and unbearably hot. The queues are endless, no matter the time of day, and with so many people squeezed into such a small space, you constantly find yourself being bumped into. Yes, there are places to eat and shop, but they don’t make up for the sheer chaos of the experience. The overcrowding, the heat, and the long waits make everything feel overwhelming. Overall, it’s a stressful, uncomfortable airport that I try to avoid at all costs.

Shopping mall
Shopping
Luton Point, formerly known as The Arndale and Luton Shopping Centre, underwent a transformation in 2006 when it was acquired by private equity investors and rebranded as Luton Mall. This vibrant destination offers a diverse range of shops catering to various tastes, from fashion to electronics. The lively atmosphere makes it an ideal place for a day out with friends or family. Visitors can enjoy a wide selection of dining options, suitable for quick snacks or leisurely meals.
I recently visited Luton Point and had a fantastic experience! The mall is spacious, clean, and well-organized, making it easy to navigate. It offers a wide variety of stores, from high-end brands to affordable options, catering to all shopping needs. The food court is impressive, with a diverse range of cuisines to choose from, and the seating area is comfortable and well-maintained. The ambiance is lively yet relaxing, with great lighting and decor. The staff at the stores and information desks were friendly and helpful. Additionally, the mall has ample parking and excellent facilities, including clean restrooms and play areas for kids.

The wife wanted to go shopping but didn't fancy MK so she said about the Arndale. Rolled my eyes 🙄 but that's where we landed. Totally surprised. What a change from the last time we visited. New seating. Clean. A new post office. New big Sports Direct. Not a load of vacant units like many of the shopping centres. Loads of small vendors selling lovely looking food. Well done.
Craig M — Google review
Most of the high street retailers under one roof. The mall is large enough but gets busier over the weekends. Plenty of options for a variety of food. It's also close to the Luton bus interchange and Luton train station.
Arif K — Google review
Luton Point has transformed into a vibrant hub that caters to a wide range of shopping and leisure needs. Its commitment to enhancing customer experience, combined with its community-focused initiatives, makes it a standout destination in Luton.
Rashid A — Google review
a boring regular long mall, with a strange bazaar maket inside. the food buisnesses and options are the top from bottom :/ toilets in the end of the mall that streches like a brocken eel, narrow and long.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great place for shopping and delicious Asian food! I visit Luton Point often and always have a good experience. It’s a great spot for shopping, with a wide range of stores that cater to everyday needs. What I love most is the food options—there are plenty of places to enjoy delicious Asian cuisine. If you’re looking for Halal food, this is definitely the place to go—there are lots of Halal shops and restaurants to choose from. Clean, convenient, and culturally vibrant—Luton Point is a local gem!

Back in the 1980,s 90,s and early 2000,s this was a beautiful and vibrant place to have a day of shopping with the family. There use to a big pond with flamingoes. All the well known stores are gone. The lighting, design and architecture is dull.

Movie theater
Event venue
Cineworld Luton is a popular choice for moviegoers in the area, offering the latest international blockbusters in both 2D and 3D formats. The cinema provides high-quality images and top-notch sound for an exceptional viewing experience. While some visitors found it fairly quiet and appreciated the straightforward ticket purchasing process, others mentioned that prices for tickets, drinks, and snacks were on the higher side.
Had a fantastic experience watched the movie him was really good. Was served at the counter by a women named Afsana really good customer service gave us brilliant seats and told us where to go. She went out of her way to advise us about the movie also very friendly and polite overall 10/10 experience. Definitely recommend ✅
Fast T — Google review
Very poor theatre experience. Screen and theatre is too small, still the angle was not even corrected as fits on the screen. First 10 min we can't see full screen and subtitles was only half visible. Then they corrected it. I watched an Indian (malayalam) movie, i think they don't know when the movie finish, bcz before 5 minutes movie ends they switched on the lights. Need to improve the quality of service.
Nidhin A — Google review
After reading the opinions and going to the Luton Cineworld for the first time I had a really low expectations. Well I need to say it was a nice surprise to discover how friendly and professional the staff are there. Especially the cleaning ladies, between movies, super hardworking and very polite on front of the customers. Someone deserves a pay rise 👍 Is a bit pricey (food, drinks), like in most cinema's those days. As I actually enjoyed the evening, in my subjective opinion, this place deserves more than 3.8 in Google opinions. Thank you.

Exceptional Service – Thank You Afsana! I had a wonderful experience at the cinema recently, and I just have to give a special shoutout to Afsana for her customer service! From the moment I arrived, she was friendly, professional, and incredibly helpful. She went above and beyond.

Recently went to Cineworld Luton to watch The Smashing Machine. This was a movie recommended by a lovely young lady called Afsana last week. I asked about the food options, Afsans suggested the family special was value for money as I didn't want to buy too less or too much food, this was perfect for us. This girl really knows her audience and movies!! what a great choice she made for us. I throughly enjoyed my evening, Thank you Afsana for making our movie experience that much more special...

Cineworld offers an exceptional cinema experience that goes beyond just watching a movie — it’s an immersive journey into the world of film. With state-of-the-art screens like IMAX, 4DX, and Superscreen, every visit delivers stunning visuals and powerful sound that bring stories to life in unforgettable ways. The seating is comfortable, the concessions are varied and tasty, and the staff are friendly and helpful, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience from start to finish. Whether you're a casual moviegoer or a film fanatic with an Unlimited card, Cineworld provides top-tier entertainment that makes every movie night feel special.
Shanelle — Google review
Great cinema. But not enough big screens, small baskin robins, etc. But a great employee there named Alon (the poster man) phenomenal. He goes above and beyond same for Aisha the very nice women at the desk. Without them this place would be 2 star. Both definitely deserves a raise.
Rayaan A — Google review
Staff were friendly. You have to use a pin to go to the toilets (which i find odd). The self checkout things weren't working, so you had to queue to get your ticket. It could do with a revamp, but i suspect in 10 years' time, cinemas won't be as profitable, and Cineworld will cease to exist..

Stockwood Discovery Centre is a captivating destination for families, history enthusiasts, and garden lovers alike. Stockwood Discovery Centre is a great place to visit. The museum and gardens are interesting, and the staff are very kind and helpful. It’s a nice way to spend a few hours. There’s also a café and a good gift shop with souvenirs and local items.

A gem in Luton, deserving of every one of its 5 stars! I've visited both on weekdays and weekends, and each time it offers a truly fruitful and calm atmosphere. The beautiful gardens are a highlight, perfect for a peaceful stroll and enjoying nature's beauty. The coffee shop is a lovely spot to relax and refuel, and the old carriage exposition is fascinating – a real step back in time. It's a wonderful place to escape and enjoy some tranquillity. Highly recommend!
Marin V — Google review
I haven't been here in a long time and it still delivers, the museum is good and took approximately an hour to get around. The garden was unexpectedly large it was like a laybrinth to get around, you couldn't go inside the greenhouses I assume this was because we went on the 26th September getting close to Autumn so I'm fine with that. There was a slight mishap with my hot chocolate where I got given one that tasted like coffee but this was adequately replaced.

Wonderful place with well kept grounds..a favourite when the kid's were young and now a place of tranquility to get away from the busy world outside.. excellent cafe too..

Lovely place to visit with a whole family, it's free, it's interesting, full of exciting exhibitions for fans of history, although a lot of places (especially greenhouses in the gardens) seemed unaccessible on our recent visit. There're a coffee shop, toilets, and playgrounds. The staff is kind, and the gift shop has a lot of lovely knicknacks. Fantastic place for a walk or picnic, but some parts of the gardens seem a little run down recently.

Stockwood Park in Luton is a sprawling park that was once the grounds of a stately home, now transformed into the Stockwood Discovery Centre. The park offers various facilities such as soccer and golf, along with beautiful flower displays and a museum showcasing horse-drawn buggies. It's an ideal destination for families, featuring an indoor gallery and museum, outdoor children's play area, and stunning gardens including historic walled garden, Victorian garden, knot garden, and tranquil sensory garden.
Stockwood park is a vast park in Luton, it was previously a site of a hospital which has since been demolished. The discovery museum is an excellent place for little minds to explore and learn. Nice cafe for adults to relax. On the back end is the popular Stockwood Park Rugby club, where kids and adults are training regularly on a Sunday. There is also a Golf course and equestrian club and a clinic.

Such a beautiful park for mini adventures and picnics with the family. We even planned a lovely afternoon tea style picnic celebration for my niece before her wedding. Definitely recommend 10/10. Something for all the family!

Brilliant open space for families. 2 Playgrounds for the kids. Discovery Centre is excellent. Just need to get a swimming pool /leisure centre / outdoor paddle area and it would be the most sought after place to go in South Luton.
Christie S — Google review
It was OK. We as a family had fun but unfortunately where we were walking at one place we saw 3 pempers. So a family before us has picnic and changed their babies but left that mess. All I can say shame on them
Aeila B — Google review
Nice - the golf course seems well tended and well frequented, the wilder areas are managed so they haven't become too wild and the size of the place gives plenty to explore. Downsides, it's directly under the flight path right next to the airport so the planes here are frequent and very loud. Also there's a potentially lovely pond right at the back which could be nice but it's sadly neglected and full of rubbish.
Andy B — Google review
I visit stockwood park regularly and each time have a nice break. the park is really big and has a lot to offer, there’s football teams that play, golf and athletics track. the park is clean every time i visit and the trees seem to be well kept. the golf grass when i went was cut well and everything in the park seemed maintained. i must admit i got sort of lost at one point and struggled reading the map but that could just be me. if you’re looking to walk and explore or even sit down for a picnic/play around, it’s a good spot for anyone thanks for reading!

EDIT: Have come back post-COVID and spent the entire day here. Discovery Center is great for the kids and facilities are clean. On-site cafe is recommended for an ice-cream or coffee. There is a large green space in front and behind the center, perfect for picnics in the summer.

Burger King is a popular fast-food chain known for its grilled burgers, fries, and shakes. Recently, I visited one of their outlets to try their vegan nuggets. The manager was very helpful in assisting me with a special offer from the Burger King app. The nuggets themselves were delicious and it's great that they have a vegan option available. While I enjoyed my experience overall, I feel that this particular outlet could benefit from some updates as it feels outdated and not very inviting.
As it was the first time I went to burger king.. Was being served by Sadia with a warmness and politeness.. Really impressed by the service and the food..

Ordered king fries with cheese and bacon, in my understanding king -must be big . Received small portion normal size soggy fries. Lol never again paid nearly £5
Lina S — Google review
Despite being a less well-maintained Burger King crying out for a refurb, the double whopper with cheese is still the best burger ever. You can't beat that flame-grilled taste.

I went to eat some vegan nuggets in this BK outlet. The manager was helpful as he helped me to use a special offer from my BK app. The nuggets were good and really good there is a vegan nugget option. Well done BK! My 4 stars are because this outlet feels well dated and not very inviting so I would say a refurbishment would be welcome
Laszlo T — Google review
Place was clean and the burger was amazing, unfortunatley the fries were exeptionally soggy and tasted quite funky
Emma P — Google review
I always feel Burger King is the best when compared to other collective restaurants of its chain because of the Burger which has a perfect taste and proper quantity of burger.
Marrapu A — Google review
This Burger King is a right manky old dump. It looks very dated and depressing both inside and out. It could really benefit from a refurb or relocation, neither of which will happen as you instantly get the impression that their head office don’t give a toss about this place. When asking for some ketchup, staff look at you like you’ve just urinated on their apron and give you ONE poxy sachet, just enough for a 4 chips. Either cook at home or go elsewhere. Don’t waste your money here. *Edit* 03/09/2025 This location has now permanently shut down which is no surprise given my original review.
Jay — Google review
Went there today and got a long texas king box meal with nuggets. It was edible but not brilliant. Was served at the most furthest left hand side cashiers register around 2ish pm. The staff member was extremely difficult to understand. This staff member went around the back to help prepare my box meal and I saw that one of the unfolded boxes that these meals go into had fallen on the floor... it was then kicked around by this member of staff untill another chief decided to pick it up off the floor and put it back with the others :-/ poor show

Pub
The White House, a pub owned by JD Wetherspoon, is a spacious and contemporary establishment situated on the premises of a 19th-century brewery. This charming venue offers an array of real ales and meal packages at affordable prices. The interior exudes charm due to its historical roots, thanks to the previous brewing activities that took place there. The bar has ample seating both indoors and outdoors, making it an ideal spot for gatherings, particularly in the warmer months.
This pub has become my go-to spot for breakfast. The meals are consistently delicious and offer great value for money. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a perfect place to start the day. Its convenient location adds to the appeal. Ordering through their app is a breeze, and the food always arrives promptly. Highly recommend!

It’s probably one of the best pub in Luton central. When you download the Whetherspoon application it gets much easier.. you just order with your table number and the team handles the rest for you. Audience and the environment pretty fine.. what can be expected from Luton central tho. The pub kinda preserves its own quality and hence you’d enjoy it smoothly.. Not a best place for a first date but why not for second date 😁.. I like this place anyway

Massive Wetherspoons. Probably one of the biggest we have visited. Lovely building. Plenty of outside seating & the inside was huge with an upstairs for over 16s only which is a nice touch. Loved the library theme throughout the pub & really enjoyed our visit. Plate, bacon, mushrooms, beans, 2 x eggs, hash browns & tomatoes were all hot. Staff were very polite & helpful & would come back again if we were ever close to Luton again. Only one small negative was the men's toilets were hard to find tucked away behind the fruit machines. A couple of more signs would help. Thanks.

One of the biggest Wetherspoons I’ve been to — an impressive building with loads of outdoor seating and a huge interior. The upstairs area for over-16s is a great idea, and the library theme throughout adds a lovely touch. Our food — bacon, eggs, mushrooms, beans, hash browns, and tomatoes — was served hot and tasty. Staff were friendly and helpful, and we’d definitely return if we’re ever back in Luton. The only minor issue was that the men’s toilets were a bit tricky to find, tucked behind the fruit machines — a few more signs would make things easier.

Hello, everyone. I visited this place last night with my friends. The food was good. We had American cheese burgers with chips and red wine. The staff were lovely, very kind and professional. Bar
Carriages Bar & Restaurant, located just outside Luton's town center, offers a stunning dining experience with its Italian-inspired ambiance and delicious cuisine. The restaurant boasts a historic building that adds to its charm and provides an authentic Italian feel. With a former chef from Gino D'Acampo's team at the helm, guests can expect refined Italian fare with a modern twist.
Had a gorgeous meal there yesterday for my mother in law's 80th. There were 17 of us and we had a lovely big table in a private room. The starters and roast were amazing and despite there being a lot of old people, not one person moaned so the food must have been good!

Can not fault. The place is superbly decorated, giving a real higher class feel. Our food was absolutely amazing, I had the king prawns in spaghetti. The sauce was thick and silky. The cherry tomatoes were incredible, but the spaghetti !!!!! It was cooked to perfection. My wife, on the other hand, had a margarita pizza (not very adventurous). Still, she said it was delicious and well worth the money. I can't recommend carriages enough, and it's going to be my new Thursday night restaurant.

Visited Aug2025. An outstanding restaurant and bar. Food is immaculate, packed with flavour. Wine list is long. Bar is well-stocked. Service is very attentive, and tunes in with its guests very well, including humour when appropriate to do so. Pics: mushrooms in tomato sauce, fresh tuna steak (medium-rare), Sicilian cannoli.

Been here a couple of times now, once during the week and once on a Sunday for a roast. Food here doesn't disappoint. Good menu options, reasonable priced and nicely done. The staff and team are wonderful and friendly. Often they have music playing in the outside seating area which is a nice touch. Great date night place.

Simply amazing! Food was fantastic quality and really delicious - pasta was fresh and perfectly cooked, had both the lobster and ragu. Also the tiramisu was one of the best I’ve ever tried! Friendly staff, great value and great atmosphere with some lovely music playing throughout. Would highly recommend!

This is a great restaurant with really attentive staff and a great chef you actually get to meet. The food is exceptional and I have been back many times. Their theme nights are highly recommended.

I found this place online and they delivered a good pizza, so I went here for one of my first solo dates to have dinner. The atmosphere was a bit cold as the restaurant is probably studied for couples and families, and it made me feel a bit uneasy. The staff was lovely and the food was good, I went for the fish. I had starter, main and dessert, so the price reflects a well portioned 3 course meal of this quality. Maybe a bit salty for my taste, but the quality and freshness was definitely there. It’s a place that has authentic Italian dishes for the majority of it. I ordered the dessert, and I wasn’t impressed, but overall I liked it. The facilities were very clean and classy. The music was also a plus for any nostalgic Italian in the area, definitely worth a try, it’s a romantic place for a date.

British restaurant
The Smithfield, a British restaurant near Starbucks, has received mixed reviews on Google. Despite the low rating, many visitors have been pleasantly surprised by their experience. On a busy Saturday morning flight, the restaurant had an adequate number of staff members available to seat customers promptly and serve food and drinks without much delay. The decor of the establishment is lovely and the service is quick. However, opinions about their food vary.
We had a lovely meal for 3 here this evening and were excellently accommodated by Lakshmi. She and all staff were very helpful, friendly & efficient. The food came out very promptly and at a high standard. Would definitely recommend.

Maggie served us and was brilliant. She was so incredibly kind and helpful. I was disappointed with my Guinness and she straight away went and re-poured it and was so kind and understanding in the process. She was truly amazing! I’ve attached the fist and second Guinness just to show the difference!

It was busy for a reason. Friendly staff who took my allergies seriously. I had the American pancakes and they were stunning. A lot bigger than what I was expecting too. A good meal and reasonably priced.

Quickly served and tasty food. Swathi (one of the attending ladies) was very sweet, gave me the window table just next the flight board so I don't get late for my flight. Will come back

Don't believe the negative reviews. It's a nice place with friendly and helpful staff. The food came quickly enough and was hot and well cooked and prepared. Can't complain at all. It's not the cheapest, but what do you expect at an airport 🤷‍♂️ Main thing is that it was good quality, hot and the atmosphere wasn't rushed. Thank you.

Had a really good experience here thanks to Leonel. From the moment we arrived, he was welcoming, professional, and genuinely friendly. He checked in at just the right times, was attentive without being over the top, and made everything run smoothly. It’s not often you come across service like that in an airport setting, but Leonel really stood out and made the stop feel a lot more enjoyable. Food was decent too!
Amanda B — Google review
I recently visited this place and was lucky to be seated at a window table, which made the experience even nicer. We ordered two burgers and a rack of ribs. The ribs were fantastic – tender and full of flavor, especially with the buffalo sauce. The burgers, however, were a bit of a letdown as the buns weren’t very fresh and felt slightly hard. Still, the overall food quality was good, even if not the best. Drinks were on the expensive side, but that’s to be expected given the airport location. Service was around a 3.5/5. We were seated and served quickly, which was great, but you do have to go to the bar to order food and drinks, which can be a bit inconvenient. Overall, it’s a decent spot with good ribs and a nice atmosphere if you’re at the airport.

Our time at the airport was completely transformed thanks to Vlad. From the moment we walked in, he greeted us with such warmth and professionalism that it immediately put us at ease during what can often be a stressful travel day. If you’re passing through, do yourself a favor and stop by Smithfield—you’ll be glad you did, especially if you’re lucky enough to be looked after by Vlad.

Day 2

Off the beaten path
For day 2, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Wrest Park. Not quite as popular as Wardown House, Museum and Gallery, but still highly rated among many travelers. Accounting for getting around and average time spent, today’s activities could take about 7 hours.

Wrest Park is a historic country estate located in Bedfordshire, England. The estate features a French-style mansion, sculpture gallery, and 90 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens that reflect styles from France, Italy, and England. The house itself is an impressive example of 19th-century English imitation of an 18th-century French chateau.
Wrest Park is an amazing place to visit! The grounds are huge, so there’s plenty of space to walk around and enjoy the scenery. If you get tired, there’s an electric buggy that can take you closer to the garden entrance ,super convenient. But you need to watch out for it since it’s always on the go and you might missed riding one. The staff were all very friendly and informative, which made the visit even better. Inside, the house is absolutely stunning ; full of history and beautifully detailed. Every room felt like stepping back in time. Big thanks to the staff as well for helping me find my lost necklace. They actually found it the next day and called me back. Really appreciated their effort and kindness. Lots of benches to relax, peaceful surroundings, and overall just a great experience. Highly recommend visiting Wrest Park if you’re in the area!

This English Heritage site is a decent home and gardens. The house doesn’t have tons to see - a few fairly empty rooms on the ground floor (library, drawing room, etc), a staircase, and 4-5 room exhibition. If you take the free wallpaper tour, it will take you upstairs to three rooms, and last around 30 minutes. Candidly I wasn’t sure about a wallpaper tour beforehand, but it was interesting and they provided extra tidbits about the room and family as well. However, there is not tons to see in the house otherwise - a few signs, and 15-20 minutes in the exhibition, which goes through the decor, sport, leisure, gardens, use in World War I, family, etc. Gardens: When we came, the main gardens were closed for high winds, so could only experience the smaller gardens closest to the house. Dairy sculpture garden: We also missed as wasn’t very well marked on signs. One room with a few sculptures nice to visit. (To access from the entrance, walk through the gardens nearest the house, and it’s on the opposite end/far side of the house.) Cafe has a nice selection of lunch and cakes, with options for both indoor and outdoor seating. Small shop with a few interesting options available. Kids play area looked well used. Parking is on grass outside the gate. Toilets clean though dated near the front. Single toilet also in the house.

I had a really enjoyable walk around the grounds, beautiful place to explore. Many different sights to see, nice woodlands, beautiful gardens and swans!! The house is large but the area you can explore is very small in comparison. They do have tours to explore the upstairs, next time I'm there i will try and check that out. The rooms you can see are beautiful. Staff are friendly, had a nice chat with a gentleman who explained the history of one of the rooms and where lots of the bits came from, very fascinating, thank you very much. Plenty of parking and clean toilets.
Nicholas C — Google review
Really lovely day here. The grounds are fabulous with something around every corner. Amazing planted beds and conservatory. Enjoyed the round building at the end of the waterway and seeing the swans take off along the waterway. Great cafe with lots of choice, delicious cakes and tasty pastries. Very kind and helpful staff at every point. Good play area for the children too.
Sally A — Google review
Such a lovely place, very dog and kid friendly! We really enjoyed the garden tour, and it’s great that there are a few different tours available each day of the week. You just need to get your free tickets from the shop. It was quite busy, but I’m blaming the perfect weather, school holidays, and the fact that we went on a Sunday. The volunteers were all so helpful and knowledgeable, which made the visit even better. Overall, we really liked it, a perfect day out with the family!
Anastasia M — Google review
A charming house with large amounts of parkland, beautifully kept by English Heritage. The entrance fee for adults before any concessions is £22 but well worth it. Dogs welcome on leads. Bring your own sandwiches or use their cafe and you could easily spend the day here exploring the house and huge outdoor areas. I found all staff and the volunteers particularly charming (much more so than at some National Trust locations). Highly recommended.

As a proud member of English Heritage, I love exploring the many historic sites they care for — and with over 400 properties under their care, Wrest Park truly stands out as one of the gems! Wrest Park is a fantastic place to visit. The expansive grounds offer endless space to wander and take in the beautiful scenery. If you get tired, an electric buggy service is available to take you closer to the garden entrance — very handy! Just be sure to keep an eye out for it, as it’s constantly on the move and easy to miss. The staff were exceptionally friendly and well-informed, making the experience even more enjoyable. The house itself is stunning — steeped in history and filled with elegant, detailed rooms that feel like stepping back in time. A heartfelt thank-you to the team for helping me retrieve my lost necklace. They found it the following day and kindly reached out to return it — such a thoughtful gesture that meant a lot. With plenty of benches to rest on, peaceful surroundings, and a welcoming atmosphere, Wrest Park is an absolute must-visit for anyone in the area — especially if you’re an English Heritage member!

Nice place to spend a few hours and not too far from home. Went on a Monday in October so was a bit misty and damp, but quiet . Had a look around the house and grounds, then popped into cafe, which was very busy. Nice selection of cakes.

Olde Watermill Shopping Village, located in the historic village of Barton-le-Clay, offers a unique shopping experience with over 20 specialty shops selling everything from antiques to local food products. Visitors can explore a variety of restaurants and cafes while enjoying a leisurely day out in Bedfordshire. The village is known for its diverse selection of greeting cards and ceremonial items, making it an ideal destination for finding unique gifts.
Went to the Summer Beach today with my daughter and grandson and he loved it. Well worth the money with a big sandpit including buckets and spades, swings & slide and 5 or 6 bouncy castles. Wasn’t too busy so he enjoyed going on everything and there’s also a lot of tables & chairs to sit down to have a drink whilst watching the kids play, it felt like a safe environment too. The two hours was plenty of time to enjoy it all and we had a wander in the shops afterwards where everyone was lovely and friendly with excellent customer service, highly recommend a visit 😊

Quaint little shopping village with some interesting boutique outlets. Some currently closed due to the recent flooding. Good Christmas shop with all the usual bits and pieces, got a few nice beers ready for the festive season. Nice cafe on site doing the usual hot and cold drinks and snacks at really sensible prices. Definitely recommend a quick stop if in the area.

We had such a wonderful experience celebrating a birthday breakfast at this charming café. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The atmosphere was warm and inviting — perfect for a family gathering. What really stood out was the way they made an extra effort for our daughter, the birthday girl. They added special touches that made her feel truly celebrated, and it meant a lot to all of us. Our grandson was also treated like a VIP — the staff made a lovely fuss over him, and he was absolutely beaming the entire time. The food was delicious and was a hit with everyone. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a great breakfast spot — whether you’re celebrating or just enjoying a good meal. We’ll definitely be back!

We visited Summer Beach this week and it was such a lovely, magical experience — perfect for children and families. My daughter absolutely loved the beach itself in the mill and had been looking forward to going back. Unfortunately, when my mum took her today into the gemstone shop afterwards, her experience was completely ruined. My daughter is 11 years old, disabled, and lives with autism and epilepsy. She’s sensible, respectful, and full of wonder — the exact kind of child you’d hope would be welcomed in a place filled with treasures. But the man in the shop kept telling her not to touch anything and warned that she’d be “out of pocket” if she broke something — which was really unfair and uncalled for. She hadn’t done anything wrong. He also repeatedly talked about his son making things on the computer with 3D printing, which felt oddly pointed and left my daughter feeling uncomfortable and self-conscious. What should have been a fun, inclusive outing left her upset and singled out. It’s a real shame, because Summer Beach itself was amazing — but the attitude in the gemstone shop let it all down. I’d really urge the owners to consider how they speak to and treat children with additional needs. It matters.

A little bit out of the way. Blink and you will pass it on the dual carriageway, of the A6, on the way to / from Luton. About 13 miles from Bedford. A jewel of a quaint small shopping centre. Oldie worldly shops set in the grounds of an old watermill. Occasional craft fairs are held, with hand made items. The Christmas shop is well worth a visit. Opening this year 2025, on the Saturday 27th September. Restaurant/cafe on site. Small garden centre. Chinese takeaway tucked round the corner, at the back of the watermill. Opens at 5pm. I can recommend it 😋. After an afternoon browsing round the shops, have a takeaway. A good afternoon out 👍. Log on to their website to find the next events.

Visited with my grandchildren today, they had a lovely time on the train ride. We then went to the restaurant for lunch which was absolutely delicious, very generous servings, staff were all attentive even though it was quite busy. I finished with the coffee cake which was lovely. We will definitely be going back for lunch soon!

Lots of interesting little shops, kids particularly enjoyed looking for jewelry. Great selection in the Christmas barn. Cafe: sandwiches and chips looked / smelt great. We bought cakes and 4 hot drinks but the hot drinks took 15 mins to arrive then one was forgotten. Kids also enjoyed looking at the fish in the large pond.

Barton Hills NNR is a picturesque destination with rolling countryside and grazing ponies, offering sweeping views from the hilltop. It showcases different aspects of nature throughout the seasons, such as the beautiful Pasque flower. While it can get busy during summer, recent efforts have reduced visitor numbers and addressed parking issues. The area is dog-friendly but owners are reminded to clean up after their pets. Visitors can enjoy various linked walks around the springs in summer and take in stunning views from the hills.
Such a beautiful little town with rich nature and some of my favourite animals as horses. I have made it all the way to visit and was so lucky to see them. They are beautiful (Although, I hope there is someone who takes care of them as some didn't look well). The area is beautiful, especially when you reach the top of the hills - the view is stunning. Besides, very friendly and helpful people in town and while hiking. Recommend

I didn’t believe first that we can see horses in there. After a long walk I found a herd of horses. I was excited and anxious at the same time. But the horses are really friendly. I was watching them in long distance and they came to me. Barton hills is wonderful place for walk. Not crowded. Roadside parking available.

Great place to walk to with lots of beautiful views if you take the long way around. The Springs are actually easily accessible from a footpath from the local play park but it was great to visit via the bridleway although it is mainly uphill before crossing over the top field using the footpath and crossing along the ridges and then taking the path down.
Chris R — Google review
One of my favourite places in the world. The way the atmosphere changes as you wander from woodland to spring and into rolling hills is something incredibly special. It can be busy by the water in the nice weather, particularly in the school holidays, but if you can catch quieter times you will hear an incredible variety of birds and really experience the atmospherics of the place. I love the fact there is no visitor centre and purpose built footpaths. It’s rare to be really in nature these days. I’m very greatful to everyone who works to maintain the area. Thank you!

Nature & Parks
Wardown Park is a former estate turned into a riverfront recreational area with sports facilities and a picturesque bridge. The park is home to local museums that delve into Luton's history, including its renowned hatmaking industry and the once-thriving Vauxhall Motors factory. The museum has received support from the Heritage Lottery Fund, allowing for the refurbishment of galleries to preserve the stories of everyday people in the area over the past 150 years.
Wardown Park is a beautiful and peaceful green space in Luton, perfect for a relaxing walk or a family day out. The well-maintained gardens, scenic lake, and charming suspension bridge make it a great spot for nature lovers. There’s plenty of space for picnics, and the playground is great for kids. The park also has a small museum that’s worth a visit, adding a bit of history to the experience. It’s clean, well-kept, and a lovely escape from the busy town. Definitely one of Luton’s best outdoor spots!

My daughter was running in the Park run, which is held every Saturday at 9am. It's a fairly large park with a pond. It appeared clean enough but then again it was early and I was half asleep 🤣 The paths are suitable for wheelchair users and people with poor mobility. Ducks, geese and even a few squirrels if you are lucky.

We unexpectedly visited Wardown Park in Luton in the evening, and it turned out to be a fantastic experience. The park is incredibly spacious, with plenty of parking available. Its main attractions include picturesque walking bridges, a serene river, and various activities for children. If you're looking for a peaceful walk surrounded by lush greenery and the soothing sound of birds chirping, this is the perfect spot. There's also a small shop in the park that serves delicious ice cream 🍨🍦 and some hot snacks, adding to the charm of the visit. A true hidden gem, Wardown Park is a must-visit!
Pavan K — Google review
I recently spent some time at Wardown Park with my daughter, and I can honestly say it was a very calm and refreshing experience. The park is well-kept, peaceful, and conveniently located, not too far from the town centre and also quite close to where I live. It's one of those places you may easily overlook, but once you visit, you realise how much it has to offer, especially for families. My daughter had plenty of space to run around and enjoy herself. There’s a decent play area for children, and the open green space gives them room to explore while parents can relax or enjoy a quiet stroll. The park has a beautiful lake, shaded paths, and plenty of benches, which makes it ideal for casual outings, picnics, or just a bit of downtime. If you live in Luton, particularly near the town centre, and you’re looking for somewhere safe and child-friendly, Wardown Park is definitely worth considering. During school holidays, there are often family events or local activities happening, which adds even more to the experience. It’s a lovely spot to unwind, enjoy nature, and spend quality time with your children without travelling too far from home. The only concern I have is inability to access public restrooms, I’m not sure if it’s always in use aside during winter. Also, they can do well to care more for the lakefront area. Hence why I’m rating 4/5. All the same job well done to the team looking after the Park.
Mp3bullet — Google review
Wardown Park is a wonderful spot for the whole family! There's a lovely play area for kids, and it's always nice to see the geese, squirrels and other birds around. The park is perfect for relaxing stroll or a picnic and it even has a café and toilets, making it super convenient for a day out. It's definitely worth a visit.
Kalpani S — Google review
This is a very nice local park with a little lake where you can rent boats, walk your dog, there are some food stalls, and it's generally a quiet place, perfect for a walk and some peace after a busy day. There is a playground for children too. My only complain are the people who sometimes throw garbage on the ground but it has nothing to do with the park itself. I wish people were more mindfulnof green spaces.
Alexandra V — Google review
Wardown park is owned by Luton Borough Council, the park was opened in 1904. It's a nice place for a family picnic. It's got a lake full of ducks, gooses, and wild birds. There's a museum that's open 5 days a week and a large children's play area.

If you're on the hunt for a unique burger experience, "You Want Beef? Luton" is definitely worth a visit. The food here bursts with flavor, and the service is top-notch, thanks to friendly staff like Sami who ensure every customer leaves happy. Their mocktails are refreshing and delicious, making them a perfect complement to your meal. While some may find the burger meal deal slightly pricey, many agree that quality trumps quantity when it comes to taste.
Had the munchbox multiple times now and am blown away every time. The portions and flavours are 10/10 and it’s very nice to get something for great value when everywhere is becoming so expensive! Thai sweet chilli wings are really good!!

I had an amazing experience today! The 50% off deal made it such a great value for two delicious burgers and loaded fries. The food was absolutely delicious—full of flavor and perfectly cooked. The portions were generous, leaving me more than satisfied. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the visit even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this spot for great food and excellent service!

So I stopped by again after a long day, and honestly this place continues to deliver. The burger was exactly what you want it to be: juicy, well-seasoned, with that fresh crunch of lettuce and a perfectly melted slice of cheese holding it all together. The onion rings? Golden, crispy, and not greasy at all the kind you can eat one after another without feeling heavy. And that green fizzy drink ( virgin bull) was a refreshing surprise - light, crisp, and the perfect balance to the meal. What I really appreciate is the consistency - everything comes hot, well-packaged, and feels like it's been made with care. Thank you again for paying attention to the details and making something so simple feel special.
Samuel P — Google review
It was a decent burger that I enjoyed. However, the regular fries were somewhat bland, lacking seasoning. On the bright side, the loaded fries had a generous amount of meat on them. I would definitely order again if I find myself in the area.

DONT GO TO THIS PLACE, staff is rude! Found hair in the food. Instead of changing it, the staff is saying it’s not there staff hair it’s my husbands hair. Asked for a refund the manager refused to give refund
Shahnaz B — Google review
Decent food, decent service, decent portions, pricing? Pre order spoke to the manager who advised what burgers are popular etc. steered to order the standard burger meal with a portion of Thai sauce wings. Total came to £22. 40. After ordering saw they had a poster with exactly what I ordered but priced at £20. Made no sense why the manager didn't recommend that instead of pricing me separately for each item! Food was ready in about 15 minutes, everything was fresh, the burgers were good double smash burgers, the chips were perfect. The wings were big and fresh, very saucy. Meal was good, prices a little questionable, however worth the visit .
B P — Google review
Absolutely disgraceful. Look at the pictures, small portions, small burgers - mediocre at best, zero sauces - not even a single tub of Harrisons. Are you cost cutting for your rent/business rates? Do you think I want to eat the chips dry? Also, their loaded fries stinks badly of the cheesy sauce. We waited over one hour for this mediocre meal. The price does not justify the quality and consistency. If you charge me premium prices, I want a premium second to none experience.
Mohammed H — Google review
One of my favourite burger spots after peri peri 🤩 it’s just so unique and good! I love there it’s clucking nice with their special sauce and PINEAPPLE. Trust me it’s an amazing blend of spicy and sweet. It’s the only burger I order. I love their sweet chilli wings as well, it’s absolutely amazing for great prices. I have also tried their loaded fries but it’s a bit too saucy for me, I prefer something plain to have with my juicy burger and wings. Still an amazing taste though!

Cod's Plaice is a highly enjoyable eatery offering a wide variety of delectable options. Their generous portions of fish and chips are prepared to perfection right in front of you, ensuring remarkable freshness. In addition to this classic dish, they also serve chicken, pies, sausages, fish cakes, pickled onions, eggs, gerkins, along with ketchup and vinegar for added flavor. Should you require them, wooden forks are available.
Excellent service, exactly what was asked for. Literally flew from Japan to have fish and chips with my grandmother. Even a small portion did two of us.

I live near Cods Plaice. It’s always been top notch until the last two times I’ve visited , both on Mondays. The first I had a large cod which was cooked fresh but overcooked to the point the fish was tough at the edges. The second time today I had an adult portion of cod bites. Cooked ok but only a few morsels of fish. So disappointed. Chips have always been good. Sort it out Cods Plaice.

I have used this chippy for many years. The proprietor is a lovely kind man and have often had many chats whilst waiting for my order. Over the last year, due to working from home I have often used the Just Eat option for my lunch whilst being unable to leave home. Several occasions there has been an issue receiving my order either by a notification to say it has been delivered when it hasn't or it not being delivered with no idea where the order ended up. Everytime I rang the shop and I spoke to a woman. This is where my review turns negative. Her customer service skills are absolutely terrible. She was not the slightest bit interested in the fact my order did not arrive. Constantly telling me it is not her problem and the order has left the shop so therefore no longer her responsibility. Whilst I understand they can't control the drivers actions at least acknowledge the fact there has been an issue and offer some kind of assistance instead of simply not giving a toss and making it known too! I've been left out of pocket due to this. If she is not prepared to help those affected by the service they have offered by using Just Eat, maybe do not offer the delivery service.

Ordered through just eat, for a family gathering. One item missing, phoned shop, no interest in sorting problem, just told to request a refund through just eat. Only interested in getting me off the phone to get money from other customers, not interested in getting missing item delivered, clearly I was an inconvenience pointing out their error. I thought this place was good but clearly typical poor customer service.

Visited tonight whilst staying with the In-Laws and had high hopes - it's in a great location with plenty of parking and at 6pm, it was nicely busy with the fish being cooked from fresh. Decent portions - we opted for Haddock and whilst it was OK it really was let down by the batter which looked crispy - well the top was but the inside batter (?) Wasn't cooked and wasnt great. Chips were very good - ust wish chip shops would get their batter sorted, it can't be that difficult and makes a huge difference.

Found it quite expensive, but called to complain as my pot of gravy was literally like water! Had clearly been over done in the microwave that ot was thin and no flavour!
Danielle K — Google review
Used to come here about a year ago all the time and it was good, nice crispy chips but came here today around 6pm and the chips were soggy and just didn’t taste nice. Cant complain about the girl who served me though, she was welcoming and friendly… just a shame about the food. Hopefully its just a one off

Always friendly and helpful - they now operate an online ordering for collection or delivery which is very easy to use. Delicious fish and chips too.

Stadium
Football club
Luton Town Football Club, based in Luton, Bedfordshire, England, has been playing at Kenilworth Road Stadium since 1905. The club competes in the Championship and has a rich history, winning the Football League Cup in 1988. The stadium not only hosts men's matches but also women's, youth, and international soccer games. Despite being an old ground, it holds great significance for the local community and staff.
Argyle on tour !! I have not been here for 20yrs but not a lot has changed. A few extra seats cobbled together in various parts of the ground to increase the size of the stadium for the Premier League "adventure ". Oh...and yes...the wooden seats have been removed for safe standing throughout the away end. No longer can I trip over the seats and hyper ventilate when we score !! But....it is an iconic stadium steeped in history and completely unique. Hidden amongst the rows of depressing tiers of terraced houses, it is nearly as difficult to navigate as the Gtech stadium at Brentford. Long may it survive. Two very poor teams played a "war of attrition " on a football pitch. Terrible!! We got a draw though.....and thankfully we are going back to Plymouth. The stadium may be iconic....Luton.....is not !!
Colin B — Google review
A great old fashioned ground with unique access for away fans. Food and drink not too bad. Not the best place to find somewhere to park unless you arrive very early. At least they've moved the disabled supporters away from the shared area with home fans. The new area is a lot easier to get to with all facilities in close proximity. That's one of the better things Luton have done.
Gary H — Google review
Good old fashioned football stadium, but as a result obviously facilities are not up to modern standards. Policing of the ground leaves alot to be desired and due to its location is difficult to get to and from when there is heavy traffic. Not in the best area, but these are the sort of grounds we'll look back on wearing rose tinted spectacles, when they've all gone.
Michael H — Google review
A bias 5 stars coming from a Luton Town fan and season ticket holder but it is one hundred percent a great old school ground, I've been on the stadium tour earlier this year which is great and I would recommend provided by Hatters heritage. Also attended the open training session this year which is a great family event they typically do once a season.

Park
Peoples Park is a delightful green oasis in Luton, celebrated for its well-maintained grounds and vibrant community atmosphere. This park features a playground that delights children, along with exercise equipment that encourages visitors to stay active. During the summer months, it buzzes with activity as families flock to enjoy fairs and car boot sales. The park's cleanliness is commendable, providing a safe environment for everyone, including dog owners who are encouraged to be responsible.

I visit often, it's a vital community facility for exercise, fresh air and mental health wellbeing. Clean with little litter around. We'll kept grass and surroundings. Great kids playground that is well used. Awesome views from the top of the hill. I'd love to see the Brick structure finally turned into a coffee shop/ toilets. I noticed the last green flag award was 2021/2022. It's not too far away from being award worthy again.

One of the nicest parks in Luton. It has a playground for children. Basketball court. Unfortunately you can’t use the toilets, they are locked. Dog owners need to be more responsible and clean up so that the park will be safe for children and not step on it. People’s park is always crowded in the summer and sometimes there is a fair, car boot sale and stalls selling food. The park recently got some exercise equipment that’s open for visitors. The kids love the monkey bars and leg lifts. Paid parking is available.
Waza28 — Google review
Such a nice open green sea. Having a kids play hound in one corner n other hand exercise area for young ones. Perfect for running. Benches in all side, love that hill side area like a forest. Even look perfect in autumn. Nice view from the top. One thing I didn’t like, people just throw their trash everywhere which is going to put this park beauty down.
Win T — Google review
Today we along with kids visited Peoples Park, Bells close, Luton. Very nice lush green Park in the area with many different rides for kids to enjoy. Around the Park there is walking track for walk lovers. Kids enjoyed rides and then enjoyed playing basket ball and tennis.
Akhlaque K — Google review
Nice place to take everyone, babies, kids and adults. Nature is all around us so some hiking to get to the top is worth it. If not the playground is a great place to br as well. Extra things for kids to play would be amazing!

This is a lovely green space with grassy fields, kids playground and space for quick workout, located at Bells Close, High Town in the Luton neighbourhoods. It's a great place for families to hang out and chill. It has a relaxing atmosphere where you can watch the kids play and do some workouts at the mini gym space. And you can bring your snacks and drinks 😋 Awesome experience!😎

A small park hidden in the back streets of Luton. Great place to walk 5he dog and let the kids loose. The only issue is lazy people who do not pick up their dogs mess. There are plenty of bins to drop the mess into. Shame as this is a nice little park.

The Bear Club is a cozy and intimate space where you can enjoy live music performances up close. The venue offers a variety of drinks at average prices, and it's recommended to arrive early for the best seating. With vintage decor and memorabilia creating a fantastic vibe, this gem of a venue features live jazz bands and a wide selection of gin options. Additionally, there are nearby dining options offering Chinese, English, Indian, Italian, and Thai cuisine for those planning an evening out.
Amazing intimate venue. Great selection of beers and wine. One of the best venues around. Eclectic mix of bands and comedy and nights. Staff were excellent 10/10. Highly recommended

A hidden gem of a music club to be found nestled in an unlikely venue in the heart of Luton. Staff are friendly and welcoming with a good selection of ‘Squirrel’ beers. We saw high quality music with Savannah and her girls supported by Dom Glynn. We will definitely be back for more. (It’s not a food place)

The Bear Club is a great tucked away bar in Luton that hosts fantastic Jazz, Blues and all things in between. We (group of 4) bought our tickets in advance and arrived when doors opened to ensure we got a seat. The drinks were well mixed and the service was great. A very welcoming and relaxing environment to ensure some great music.

What an INCREDIBLE VENUE. The atmosphere and welcoming was the perfect scene setter for an evening of astonishing musical talent. I plan to return as much as possible. It’s the kind of place I want them to know my name. Very cool.

It's a crime i didn't get here until recently but exactly what you want from a jazz club. Professional musicians, timeless atmosaphere, decor, and a interesting range of whiskeys from all over the place. Top notch
Ronnie M — Google review
First visit to this wonderful local club. I almost don't want to tell you about it in fear of it getting too popular! Wonder45 have been in my radar for a year or so and they didn't disappoint. Can't wait until we visit again, next week.

If you want a high quality night of music in Luton you’ve come to the right place. Step inside and you’re transported to a world of casual cool. Jazz, blues, swing, rock and all in between. Comedy and drink and draw nights… what more could you want? Great drinks, check! Great staff- check! Great atmosphere! It’s got it all. The Bear is a place you can go solo and still have a great time. Chat to the staff for five minutes and you’ll be made to feel at home and leave feeling like you’ve known them for a while. During the break have a wander around and take a look at the shelves and the wall behind the bar. Plenty to see amongst the music. Even though it’s one of the best venues it’s still a best kept secret and you’ll leave feeling like you’ve discovered a hidden gem.
Lauren S — Google review
This was our first time and we absolutely loved it! Firstly on the venue - it’s really great intimate space, when you can sit nice and close to the artists and really connect with session. Prices of drinks are about average as to what you expect, so not too bad either. You do need to arrive early if you would like your pick of seating. In terms of the act, we went to see: Mario Bakuna, a fantasy quartet made up of a drummer, bass guitar, saxophone and autistic guitar/lead singer. It was their first time at the venue and I’m very confident they will be back, they were fantastic, a great range of styles, we thoroughly enjoyed, would recommend and would go again.

Italian restaurant
Monna Lisa is a charming Italian restaurant located in Luton, known for its rustic ambiance and authentic cuisine. The interior features exposed wooden beams, tiled-roof bar, and banquette seating, creating a cozy and intimate atmosphere. The menu offers a variety of Italian dishes including fresh pasta, seafood, meats, as well as options for vegetarians, vegans, and gluten-free diners. Customers praise the restaurant for its high-quality ingredients that result in delicious yet simple flavors.
Lovely traditional Italian restaurant. I visited here for a friend's birthday over 10 years ago, and it was lovely then. I went last night for my wife and I's 6 months anniversary. We both had a starter. Mine was the fried calamari, which was very fresh and tender. My wife had the breaded mushrooms with pate inside. I tried a bit, and it was lovely. I will say there was no pizza's on the menu, which was a good thing because there are so many pizza restaurants if that's what you want. The menu had a wide variety of dishes, including vegetarian options, and I think I overheard on another table that some dishes were gluten-free too. I ordered the seafood linguine and her the steak in brandy glacé sauce. My linguine was a lovely big portion with langoustines, mussels, and other seafood, all cooked in a lovely garlic sauce. My wife ordered a medium steak that was melt in the mouth with a lovely sauce. We ordered a side order of brocoli, but it probably would have been better to get the mixed vegetables as they came with sautéed potatoes, which would have gone well with the steak. Also, I should have ordered some bread to mop up both of our great sauces. The desert was tiramisu and a mint ice cream chocolate bomb. Both lovely. All washed down with a bottle of pilot grigio blush and a hot drink for afters. The staff were friendly, the washrooms clean and well kept. The ambience was just right. There was background Italian music, which was there but not too loud. We were really happy with everything and we won't wait over 10 years to come here again

One word: disappointing! Food was atrociously bad, disgusting actually. We ordered starters, mains and a dessert. My lasagne bolognese (pictured below) had the texture of a soup, which tells me it was previously frozen and not fresh, it also had a rather unpleasant slighly sweet flavour. My mum's pasta Carbonara was made with cream - total shame as everyone knows that authentic Italian Carbonara is made with egg yolks in Italy... Finally, the chocolate cheesecake dessert was another big disappointment - a cheesecake they clearly bought from Tesco or Audi, sliced it and then just put it on a plate, it definitely was not made fresh in the kitchen. Staff were trying to deceive us the whole evening by being too friendly and even lied to us that 'if we want to try authentic fresh Italian food, we've come to the right place'. The waiter also refused to serve tap water as it is usually 'FREE' - instead, he told us: 'We gotta be able to charge you for it so we cannot serve you tap water, only bottled available'. What a joke. After consuming their calamari starter and lasagne, I had stomach issues as soon as I got home. In total we paid 60 GBP for an extremely disappointing and meh meal. Do yourself a favour and avoid this place like the plague.

This authentic fine dining Italian restaurant is absolutely brilliant. I originally read an article in the news about it online where it was complimented for the delicious food and fantastic service it offers at an incredible value and situated in Luton. From there on, I was keen to experience this myself, I headed over on a Friday night, made the reservation half hour before (luckily that had a table available) and we were welcomed warmly. The menu has plenty of options to choose from, the food was exceptionally delicious, the starters - the calamari, the garlic bread, the bruschetta, all of it was extremely well cooked and had wonderful flavours! The main courses we ordered were fantastic, all tasting incredible. The desert was tasty and a great way to end the meal. The staff were very attentative, very professional but also making us feel so comfortable. Lovely family business from the looks of it. The owner asked us how our food is, he also ensured the ingredients were accommodating our taste buds in terms of spices etc. Overall, an exceptionally great Italian restaurant, that is now on my top 10 list of great places to eat! Brilliant, 5 stars 🌟

Authentic Italian Delight in Luton. My visit to this traditional Italian restaurant in Luton was an unforgettable gastronomic experience. The menu, deeply rooted in authentic Italian cuisine, offered an array of rich, flavorful dishes that far surpassed my expectations. Every bite transported me directly to a charming Italian trattoria. A real gem in Luton's culinary scene. Highly recommended for any food lover! Five stars.

My wife and I like to travel to try new restaurants and the Monna Lisa was over an hour’s drive to get to. Unfortunately it is not situated in the most salubrious part of Luton and parking is difficult and the interior décor harps back to the 70’s with its artexed ceilings and walls and false timber beams. However, they must save their money for the fresh ingredients and decent wine. We were met by two very nice ladies who showed us to a table, and we were give the menu, note – the menu is huge, and it is recommended that you look at it on their website first to get a rough idea as to what you are likely to order before arriving. I had the arrabiata chicken, (see photo), and my wife the trout – both cooked exactly as we liked. I ordered peas and I was informed they were cooked Italian style, with onions and in a tomato sauce, something I have not had before. And although they looked a bit weird, see photo, they were actually, very tasty. We booked relatively early, (7 pm), and by 8 pm they were full – so pre book. The main surprise was when we received the bill. For a 3-course meal, a bottle of wine and two beers, it came to £82.00 – very good value. If I have one complaint – I tried to book the table via their web site that promised to reply, by phone within 24 hours – a week late they hadn’t, so I called direct. The first time the person I spoke to could not hear me, the second time they kept breaking up, and the third time I got the booking – so some work needed in that area. But over all an excellent meal and we will definitely be back. Thanks Monna Lisa.

I can’t thank Natasha, Balvir, and Parveen enough for their outstanding service and kindness! 🥹 On Wednesday, I came to collect a cake I had ordered for a surprise baby boy shower. I selected the “Chocolate & Pink Curls” design online and chose blue as the colour option on the website, assuming the entire cake would be themed accordingly. However, when I collected it, only the piping on the top was blue — the side curls remained pink and chocolate. I also used a heart emoji in the personalised message, which unfortunately came through on the system as “????”. I was honestly so disappointed — especially knowing it was an oversight on my part. But these three lovely ladies really came through for me. Despite it being the last collection slot of the day, they took the time to make all the modifications I requested and completely saved the cake for the occasion. I am so grateful for their patience, empathy, and the extra effort they made. I truly hope their management recognises the care and dedication they show to customers and that they are rewarded! Thank you again, ladies! You turned a stressful moment into a beautiful memory. 🩵

Two visits in recent weeks. First chanced upon a karaoke night and had a great time for a few hours. Second a planned day out from Dartford for their spring beer festival. Nice beer festival held in their back garden, nice choice of beers. Lovely friendly staff, not too expensive. Very community focused. LGBTQ+ friendly. In my opinion best real ale pub in Luton. Location - High Town, 2 mins or less walk from the train station. Also worth a visit (for historic interior only - no real ale) The Painters Arms just up the road.
