Redcar Beach, located in Redcar & Cleveland, is a lovely destination for families and beach enthusiasts. It offers a long and wide stretch of sand with rock pools to explore and is perfect for a leisurely walk or playing with the dog. The area features amusement places, fish and chip shops, as well as various shops along the seafront. Visitors can enjoy the clean beach, dip in the water, or swim cautiously due to strong waves.
Nice clean beach mix stone and sandy which is perfect for all. Big stretch of well built walk. Even you can see a lot of dog walkers around at beach. Beautiful views and wind farm. Lots of fun and amusements for kids and family around. Some restaurants nearby. Good for cycling. Beautiful views of sunrise and sunset. It was very nice sunny day and really enjoyed it at beach.

Lovely beach to go for a day out. There is plenty of space. There are car parks bit they run out of spaces quickly. There is parking along the beach front. They are pay to park and not to expensive ( 12.50 for 5 hours). The water is lovely clean and warm. You get to watch all the ships go by and watch the wind turbines. There are shops and arcade not to far from the car parks. If you wait alittle further you can go in the high street shops which have everything the beach front shops have but cheaper. There are lots of food options to pick from you just have to pick a street and there is food. I have been here twice and will be going back

The beach here is really nice. I'm not local so I don't know how busy it gets - but it is November so there wasn't many people. Which for me is preferable. There's a few amusements, cafes and the usual stuff you'd expect in a seaside town. If you like the beach it's definitely worth checking out.
L R — Google review
One of the most stunning beaches I have ever visited. The golden sand stretches for miles, and at low tide there's a variety of seabirds on the exposed rocks. Great amenities within a stone's throw (if there were any to be thrown),.from shops to arcades to fantastic fish and chips. Beautiful views south to the cliffs of the Yorkshire coastline, and north to Middlesbrough and beyond. If you're bored here, I really can't help you - for.me,.it was enchanting.

Lovely sandy beach, goes on for miles. Nice clean water, rockpools, rocks for fossil hunting. Loads of dogs. Great beach.

What an amazing beach. Clear water and a lovely clean beach. Had a fab day here with the kids with a trip to the arcade, fish & chips for lunch and an ice cream to finish the day.

When exploring the charming coastal town of Redcar, a visit to Pacittos is an absolute must! This beloved ice cream parlour, nestled along The Esplanade, offers a delightful array of flavors that will tantalize your taste buds. Known for its iconic Lemon Top ice cream, Pacittos has garnered rave reviews from visitors who appreciate both the delicious treats and the warm hospitality of the staff. While the decor may be simple, it adds to the retro charm of this classic spot.
Just had my first Redcar delicacy, the famous Lemon Top Ice-cream from here. Absolutely delicious and amazing flavour. Great friendly staff. I'm here due to a food reviewer Kalani Ghost Hunter who's a cool guy from USA.
David C — Google review
It was a good experience to have the lemon top ice- cream. The staff was helpful and friendly. Their decor isn't great (the one facing the beach), but their ice-cream is.

Nice cafe. We came here for breakfast and got a ham and cheese toastie. Everything was good. The cafe is clean and the staff are friendly. We also got the infamous lemon top ice cream here and it didn't disappoint. The ice cream is amazing from here. It's right next to the beach so It's easy to find. Highly recommended.

the ice cream is great, always used Pacittos, but we were served by a girl who was extremely rude and shouting at the customers to confirm their order to her. We were told shes worked all day, but thats not any excuse to speak to customers in this manner. we wont be returning and its a shame for Pacittos they have staff like this working in store.

Redcar Beacon

3.9
(725)
Redcar Beacon is a must-visit spot on the Redcar seafront, offering a panoramic view of the area. The beacon's cafe and bar provide a variety of hot, cold, and alcoholic drinks at reasonable prices with friendly staff. While enjoying the breathtaking views from this elevated vantage point, visitors can indulge in delicious food such as pizza. The venue also features a spacious lift that swiftly takes guests to the top for an unforgettable experience.
The first time I catered for the event at the Redcar Beacon, I had mixed feelings. the staff and the Venue itself were great and very helpful I ordered a pizza and it was lovely. The downside which has nothing to do with the operation the bar and the restaurant more to do with redcar Council the redcar Pier is absolutely dreadful corroded bad design and embarrassment for the people of Redcar certainly needs maintenance
Graham S — Google review
Visited for the first time today. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that you can go to the top of the beacon without paying! (There is a trendy bar attached at the bottom). I decided to take the steps up to the top (7 floors of stairs), but there is a working lift for those that aren't able to navigate the stairs. On various floors there is businesses operating including the local radio station (Zetland FM). The view is stunning. At the bottom there are toilets. Overall a pleasant experience and I loved the view from the top.
Claire — Google review
We visited the bar at the bottom of the beacon twice. The pizza & drink deal is great and the pizza was delicious. The bar is dog friendly inside & out. The only downside is that no one seems to clear tables outside, but I only saw one staff member who was manning the bar.
Caroline G — Google review
Love The Beacon. Such a unique building, great views from the top, lovely pub on the ground floor and at night the building looks fabulous all lit up. It’s right on the promenade so great views out to sea (when the weather is clear). It’s free to go up to the top too. Haven’t been to Redcar for a while but whenever I go I always like to see The Beacon. I really can’t understand why some people think it’s an eyesore. No offence to the town but Redcar hasn’t got much going for it except for the Racecourse and Racing isn’t every day. The Beacon is a pleasant looking landmark that due to pub at the bottom is more useful than many newish editions to the North East. You want to see an eyesore then look no further than the Angel of the North. The Beacon is well worth a visit if you go to Redcar in my opinion.
Smog M — Google review
Don't live in Redcar, was there for a dentist check up. A quick google search and this was one of the recommended places to go. Glad we did the pizza was enjoyable and included a drink. We opted for a beer. Very good value for money. Seating inside and out. Plus they have pods up stairs you can eat in. Good views of the sea. Will definitely be back.
Jack D — Google review
An iconic structure on Redcar seafront. From the outside, it rather resembles an incomplete helter skelter and tends to be Marmite - people either love it or they hate it. But either way, there's no denying it stands out from other seafront landmarks and the endless repetition of piers. The view from the top is worth it, and can be accessed by either stairs or a lift - and having been up, you can reward yourself with a drink from the bar at ground level!
Stephen J — Google review
Tower has a lot of steps or a lift to the top Free of charge with good views in all directions. Good pub with food at ground level.

History Museums
Nestled in the charming coastal town of Redcar, the Zetland Lifeboat Museum and Redcar Heritage Centre is a treasure trove for maritime enthusiasts. Established in 1980 by dedicated local volunteers, this museum showcases the remarkable history of the Zetland lifeboat, which dates back to 1802 and holds the title of the oldest surviving lifeboat in existence.
This was a superb museum to visit, showing the history of lifeboats across different eras! A large scale lifeboat adorns the entrance room and models are displayed across the museum, ranging from the basic ones like the Zetland to the later RNLB. Adorable bottles are used for miniature boats and some are even made into kitchenware; a mock room is featured of life aboard and some clothing that was worn is a nice addition too!
K. P — Google review
What a brilliant experience for the kids and it was FREE! Small donations encouraged to support it. Very interesting museum. Set up well and fun activities to amuse the kids while the adults look around. The volunteers were super knowledgeable and kind. Definitely going back soon.
Chris H — Google review
Pleasant little place packed with history - dozens of old photos and artefacts from the area, with the Zetland lifeboat (oldest lifeboat in the UK) being the main attraction. The volunteers are friendly and welcoming, chatting to my two young sons on their level and giving them a simple activity to keep them interested through the visit. The shop is a little bit small, being no more than a small desk with a few gifts on display, but the space available has been used well still. Overall a good little place to spend some time learning about the local history. Admission is free, but it’d feel wrong to leave with giving a donation 😌
Chris L — Google review
Great little museum with free entry. Very friendly and knowledgeable attendants. Well worth a donation to the upkeep.

Absolutely fantastic, we loved it as much as our kids did. My son hasn't stopped talking about it. 100% highly recommend! The volunteers were all lovely and explained/talked to us and answered questions!

How can you not be moved when you hear about the bravery of these men and women years ago - the dedication - the effort and the passion of the men in this lovely little museum now who are so happy and willing to talk about it. Everyone should visit this place. Hubby and me visited years ago, but I always felt I wanted to return. Im disabled so couldnt do the stairs, but my experience was just as informative and enjoyable - one that I will remember and write about for my public speaking for some time. Thank you Steve and Malcolm - you are doing an excellent job.

Amazing to learn the history of the OLDEST lifeboat in history. Great to show the kids too. Definitely recommend visiting, it's very interesting, and to compare to the current boats used to save lives at sea!

A lovely little cafè at Redcar, not a great deal of places to go for lunch there anymore but luckily found Cacao whilst having a mooch about. Small but cozy and comfortable surroundings. The cakes looked amazing and were massive but we didn't have room after our lunch. Good choice of menu including some Brazilian options, all reasonably priced, would absolutely go back....if only to try some of the cakes that were on offer 🤤

Holy Cacau’w! Saw Sophie_B had rated highly and she’s got good taste, so why not. Why has it taken me so long? What a fantastic little place for lunch. The menu is really vegan friendly and the owner ‘Hamiliton’ is lovely, as the waitresses. The food tasted fantastic and we had … Feijoada £9.90. A trad Brazilian black bean dish with vegan smoked sausage, served with boiled rice, farofa (looks like breadcrumbs but is made from cassava (yuka)) and collared greens. My word, what a plateful… what a delight. The family recipe is the best I’ve had. Caldo de Feijao £5.20. A trad Brazilian creamy bean soup with vegan sausage served with oregano olive oil croutons. The beans came from ‘Hamilton’s’ home town in Brazil and it really was creamy, thick and very filling. Vegan Hot Dog - Brazilian Style. £5.30. A hot dog which tasted really really good. The vegan mayo with their homemade sauce and mustard perfectly rounded it off. It’s described as Brazilian but the potato sticks made it more American?! Perhaps a Brazilian staple like potato salad or a side salad? Vegan cheesy chips £3.90. Not the usual poor quality vegan cheese, but nice runny cheese which had melted properly - guilty sin 😉 Would I go back? Yes … like this week Would I recommend. Yes. #Veganuary

Nestled by the seaside, Daisy-Mae's Vintage Tearoom is a charming café that offers an inviting atmosphere perfect for tea lovers. During my visit, I indulged in delightful freshly made scones served with butter, jam, and cream—an experience that truly allows you to customize your treat! The prices are quite reasonable; I found it well worth the cost. My daughter gifted me a voucher for their Afternoon Tea, which was nothing short of spectacular.
Absolutely lovely tearoom! Had a really nice visit today! Staff are very friendly and welcoming, food is delicious and all homemade, prices are reasonable too. Each table has a game to play whilst waiting for food too and the vintage china was very pretty. Would highly recommend.

It is beautiful place with lots of character, seems like time stop there and You are at the fancy tea party with lots of style and elegance, eating and drinking for beautiful china using silver cutlery, have a nice conversation about flowers and newst gossip . Delicious food beautifully presented, honest and hand made. I did enjoyed my scone with big pot of Roobois tea, chatting away with my friends. At the table are some old fashion games so You can stay there for a long time, enjoying a view and company.
Monika C — Google review
We visited the tearooms about a month ago without our children, disabled son and his carer. The food was lovely and well priced. We all purchased a meal and drinks, except with our son having very specific eating requirements, we purchased him soup and bread from the cafe and we took his own dessert. Unfortunately we were asked not to attend the restaurant with our own food again, which we will respect. I do wonder though if the owner should consider that despite spending over £40 in meals from the cafe, was it worth asking us to not do that anymore and loosing our business forever? I didn’t think with purchasing the majority of our food and drink at the cafe, that a dessert for my son would be such an issue. It is a shame that this one request will mean we can no longer visit this cafe again.
Nikita S — Google review
The sandwiches were lovely presented like the best tea room but very filling with nice side salad and crisps. The crumpets came on a lovely glass stand with pots of jam and butter very luxurious. A pot of tea for two fulfilled us both and of course lovely crockery. But the best thing was service as the ladies couldn't have been nicer. Great find

Armando's is a delightful dining spot located on Redcar High Street, perfect for those seeking a vibrant atmosphere and delicious cuisine. The restaurant offers an impressive selection of dishes, including superb risottos and steaks that are sure to satisfy any palate. While the noise level can be quite high, which may detract from the overall ambiance for some diners, the attentive staff work hard to ensure a pleasant experience. Fantastic little restaurant on Redcar High Street. We had the pate to start which was fine and for mains parmos. Needed something different to fish and chips or pizza by the beach .... so walked into town and found this little gem. Small, good food and decently priced :)
Beverley P — Google review
Family meal, 8 in total. Overall not a bad experience. Probably would go again but it does have its bad points depending on your personal preference. It is very loud and this killed the atmosphere for me, I don't like having to raise my voice over the music or in this case just the general volume. We ordered a selection of starters and mains and they were for the most part as you would expect. Chicken dishes were well cooked and all tue pasta both lasagne and spaghetti were cook slightly over but still very nice, garlic bread with cheese was a little underwhelming and needed more cheese, steak was well cooked as requested but could have benefitted from another 5min resting. Biggest issue ( and I've added a pic) was the chipped and cracked ramekin of limp salad that the choose to serve with the mains, this would have been better placed in a larger sharing bowl for our numbers . I'm always critical of any eateries which serve food in or on damaged crockery... its just not acceptable 😕 I think it will continue to be popular due to the alternatives but a little more attention to the little things would make a huge difference. If your looking for a relaxing meal as a couple I would say check your timings as it is very loud at times .

Had a wonderful meal here last night with my friend. The food was really good and reasonably priced. The staff were excellent - very friendly and attentive. I will definitely return the next time I am in the area.

Great for gluten free options. They don't do gluten free pasta, unfortunately, which I think they could really benefit from, but the rice and risotto dishes are superb, with fabulous steaks and gorgeous sources. Their desserts are really nice but I never have enough space to eat it. They also do really good cocktails, with two for £10, and because they're so big I think they're worth it.
Charlotte T — Google review
First and last visit. The food was OK but got the distinct impression that the young girl with glasses didn't want to serve us. Very cold with us and zero interaction. Couldn't get out quick enough, felt very unwelcome. The draught John Smith's was awful, left most of it. We are both approaching our 60's and on a short break away in Redcar. Never, ever been treated in this way before.

A well-run and welcoming Costa, offering a quiet and relaxed atmosphere in the town. Ignorant staff, useless customer service. The "person" with the green hair should be sacked. Massive attitude problem and extremely rude and nasty to customers. Horrible "holier than thou" attitude. Hope karma gives you what you deserve in life. Avoid this place at all costs. Go to the Zetland cafe where the staff are lovely.

We ordered a large and medium cappuccino and we were disappointed with the service, quality of coffee and the employees attitude. One of the lady staff tried close the Cafe by 5pm and two customers who reached at 5.15 were turned down by the staff saying there are short staffed while in fact there were enough staff. Coming to our coffee ,the coffee tasted very bad,the milk wasn't creamy and frothy. Never Coming back here. The only good thing was ambience.

Costa Coffee at Regents Way Redcar used to be my choice of coffee shops but I'm getting a bit put off the place since they started to allow dogs in I don't want to eat good with dog hairs flying around I went in today in the hope that things might have improved only to find a child stood on the chair. Dontknow what it may have brought in on its feet but people have to sit down on those chairs The place gets worse each time u go in

Customer service is the worst I've experienced to date, stood for a good 7-8 minutes at the till, whilst 3 members of staff faffed on, doing seemingly nothing as no food or drinks were being made, no "we'll be with you in a minute guys". Just flat out ignored us, the whole time I've got a toddler desperate for the loo, which you can only use once you've got a receipt.. thankfully the microwave worked okay as the food was alright, but heaven forbid you fetch it to our table, just throw it on the counter and walk away. To top it off my child spilt my coffee but I couldn't attempt to clean it up as there was NO NAPKINS!!! sort it out Costa, what a shambles!!

Customer service was non-existent. We were going to sit in but they refused to allow one of the drinks to be in a take away cup despite being happy to pay any difference. Got the order wrong despite repeating it several times. Manager was both rude and dismissive. Ive never had poor service in a Costa before which makes it all the more surprising.

The manager and assistant manager of this branch are absolutely unhinged and the rudest staff I have ever had the displeasure of encountering. They seem to not understand the age old line that the ‘customer is always right’. They speak abruptly and rudely, will outright refuse customer requests, they boss you to move your chair/table around outside - while you are sitting! (if it is so much as an inch over the invisible barrier/border) and when I tidied my tray back to the counter to help, they barked at me to clear it away to near the back kitchen!! Genuinely baffled that this Costa branch has any custom, the management staff need overhauling or at the very least some proper training on customer service. Vile treatment of customers, the manager and assistant manager should be ashamed. If you want a horrible, uncomfortable and anxiety-inducing Costa experience, knock yourself out. If you don’t, I strongly recommend you go to literally any other cafe or different Costa branch and avoid this branch at all costs.

My first visit to costa cofee while in mid of my work at Redcar. Tables and chairs needed bit of cleaning, Food was okay if a little on the pricey side but again okay.

One Up is a lively gem in Redcar that captivates visitors with its inviting atmosphere, fantastic drinks, and mouthwatering dishes. As soon as you step inside, you're enveloped by a cozy vibe that feels like a warm embrace, complemented by the delightful aroma of freshly brewed coffee. The decor strikes an ideal balance between trendy and comfortable, making it accessible for everyone without any pretentiousness. Vegetarian options shine here; the mushroom and halloumi dish comes highly recommended!
Brilliant place, fantastic food and coffee. Will definitely be back for lunch. Had poached eggs and bacon bun this morning. Love the world map on the wall. Lovely clean kitchen and bonus if being able to watch the chef do his thing.

Nice service, tasty burgers, great location (with view to the sea innsome tables) and good quality coffee. Chips were really potato wedges very thick but them being much too large and thick was the only thing we didn't like. At least they were from real cut potatoes. Also there is no free parking if you just wanted to go there and eat so you will have to pay. But an hour parking is only 1.5GBP

Fantastic place to have a lunch! Top quality, very tasty food in nice surroundings with lovely people working there! True gem in the town!

Great food presentation! and taste, ofcourse. It was served pretty quick. They don't have any high chairs if you have a younger child.

This place is absolutely TOP NOTCH! I don't think I can explain just how impressed I was today. From arrival to ordering and what was served was truly stunning. If you're in Redcar and you're looking for absolutely top-class food and drinks with a price tag that is entirely on-point you will be happy you came here! I mean, honestly, GO. My Mrs was working in Redcar recently and was looking for a great cafe that served good food and this popped up. I wasn't with her so I checked the place out myself with my two daughters and their friend. Both my daughters are neuro-diverse so a new place always brings challenges for them. I have to tell you that nothing was a problem for the staff to help make our visit so comfortable. The girls were so happy! Poached eggs were amazing, the Falafel and Hummus wrap was 100% and you simply cannot ignore the quality pancakes that came from the kitchen!! Absolute Chef's Kiss for these ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Thank you for an amazing late-lunch. We will be back again!!

Absolutely excellent breakfast and coffee. Very busy but effective service. Both of us are vegetarian and loved the mushroom and halloumi dish. Would recommend booking if going at a weekend maybe, although we snuck in without.

Me and my partner came here for brunch while visiting Redcar. It's a cute cafe staff were friendly. He ordered a burger that was a perfect size, and the chips were very nice. I got a falafel & hummus wrap which was tasty. I do wish they had more vegan options, they do have a couple vegetarian things but nothing was labelled as vegan.

Great service throughout, was really busy but managed to get a table downstairs. Really good portion sizes & lovely breakfasts.
