Burdur Museum, also known as Burdur Archaeological Museum, is a popular destination showcasing a wide array of archaeological finds from the ancient Greek and Roman periods. The museum's collection includes important artifacts from excavations in and around Burdur, offering cultural insights spanning over 7000 years. Divided into three main areas - the Garden (Open Exhibition), Statue Hall, and Small Monuments Hall - the museum features sculptures, pottery, and historical relics.
If you are in the area this is the place to go. As others pointed out: great exhibits , very informative, complements Sagalassos ruins.

Large number of high quality statues and sarcophagus lids of ancient Rome period makes this museum a hidden jem. People interested in antiquity would be very pleased.

The Burdur Archaeological Museum of Turkey was established in 1956 in the library building of the Bulguroğlu (Pirkulzade) Madrasa and opened to the public on June 12, 1969. Expanded in 1992, the museum was renovated between 2001 and 2006 to include modern exhibition halls. It houses more than 60,000 artifacts from the Hacılar, Kuruçay, and Höyücek mounds, as well as the ancient cities of Sagalassos, Kibyra, and Kremna. With its rich collection spanning the Neolithic Age through the Roman and Byzantine periods, it is one of Turkey's leading museums.
Mazhar A — Google review
Come here after visiting the Sagalassos site to see the friezes and statues from Sagalassos. Also, see some giant legs and a giant head. The panels give a lot of good information about Sagalassos so definitely worth checking out if you're visiting Sagalassos.
Mike X — Google review
A great and authentic museum with great inventory. Definitely a must see location. There is also a cafe right next to it to have tee and rest.

Burdur Clock Tower is a must-see in the city center, along with other historical structures like an Ottoman mansion, a mosque, and a Turkish bath. The 14th-century Burdur Grand Mosque and Clock Tower are significant landmarks to visit after exploring the Burdur Archaeology Museum. This museum showcases artifacts from excavations around Burdur dating back to the ancient Greek period.

Just a clock tower.. but with a difference: it looks just the third minaret of the Great Mosque adjascent to it. The square is lovely and best place to have a tea/coffee break in Burdujr old town.

Open air market every Friday. Where the locals buy their fresh produce. Located in older more traditional part of town. If you don't speak Turkish, bring a phrase book or Google Translate because in this part of town few speak other languages.

It is one of the beautiful clock towers in Anatolia built of cut stone. It is obvious that if the beautiful place that makes you feel the historical texture together with the mosque is subjected to a comprehensive renovation and landscaping of the surrounding buildings, it will be a much more beautiful place... (Translated by Google) It is located in a dominant position in the center of Burdur. It was built in the early years of the Republic. It has an elegant appearance. There are old tradesmen's streets around it. There are streets with a few tourist shops. You can reach it by car, but there is a parking problem. There are historical places like the Grand Mosque and the city restaurant around it. I recommend you to buy Burdur's famous walnut paste. It is a delicious candy. (Original) Burdur merkezde yer alan her yere hakim konumda yer alıyor.

(Translated by Google) Besides the lovely, authentic atmosphere, we loved every dish we ate. Since there were four of us, we ordered a variety of dishes from each dish we were curious about. We had tarhana soup, Burdur pide, stone room salad, goat kebab, dried tzatziki, and a kebab with plums (I can't quite remember the name because it was so delicious). The plums themselves were delicious, as were the meats themselves. Served with firik pilaf, it added a unique flavor. The dried dolma was a true explosion of flavor. You'll first notice the bitterness, then the sweetness. For dessert, we ordered pumpkin dessert with walnuts and tahini and rice pudding. If you're going for a heavy meal, pumpkin dessert might be too much. We loved the zucchini's texture and the small, distinct textures. After savoring such delicious dishes, you can finish your culinary journey with rice pudding. Rice pudding was like eating clotted cream and ice cream. The prices were a bit higher than average. It wasn't overly expensive, but it wasn't cheap either. This is the best place to eat Burdur's local flavors and dishes with your own interpretation, all in one go.

The goat kebab is amazing; we've been craving meat cooked to perfection. Ms. İrem was very attentive and helpful. The Burdur Natural History Museum houses a variety of fascinating exhibits, including the fossil remains of a 30-million-year-old Mastodon. Housed in a beautiful building that was once a Greek Orthodox Church, storage facility, and movie theater, this museum offers an intriguing look into the ancient history of the region. Visitors can also enjoy local delicacies and shop for unique handcrafted fabrics known as Alaca woven products along the way.
30,000,000-year-old furry elephant 🐘🤩🤩🤩 This Mastodon was uncovered close to this beautiful little town about a hundred years ago. Today she sits in an absolutely beautiful building that used to be many things... A Greek Orthodox Church. A storage facility. A movie theater. And today a fantastic natural history museum 🤠 Mastodon's roamed this planet of ours for about 30 million years... Crazy enough they only went extinct about 12,000 years ago... Which in the great scheme of things is really not that long! There are several ruins located right here in Turkey that were built when mastodons still roamed our earth........ Let that sink in for a few minutes 🤯🤯🤯 Mastodons were prehistoric relatives of today's elephants. Like their modern cousins, mastodons had tusks, flappy ears and a long nose. Both animals, as well as the woolly mammoth, are members of the order Proboscidea, a name that comes from the Greek word proboskis. (Which means nose) 👃🤣 Mastodons and woolly mammoths both look like ancient elephants, but they are separate species. One big difference between them is when they appeared on Earth. Mammoths appeared only about 5.1 million years ago in Africa. Mastodons on the other hand appeared about 27 million to 30 million years ago ⏳🗓️ There are several other differences. Mastodons were slightly smaller than mammoths. Though they are both herbivores but they ate differently. Mastodons had blunt cone-shaped molars that would crush vegetation, while mammoths had ridged molars that cut plants, much like today's elephants. Back to the building that houses this fantastic lil museum it's absolutely exquisite! I enjoyed the ancient skeleton and seeing these fossilized tusks buuuuuut seeing the arches and frescoes inside of this building really brought the whole thing home for me 👌 I had been wanting to visit this place for a few months and I can say it was worth the wait. Big thumbs up 👍👍👍

Well worth a visit to this well restored Orthodox church building now serving as an interesting natural history museum. Has a model of a now extinct mammoth species and other artefacts and a nice video of the history.
Mark L — Google review
An educational place for children. The entrance fee was 7TL per adult. There were some mastadon fossil remains of the mammoths, an impressive defense teeth of a filigree, some stuffed birds and a skeleton model of the Mammuthus meridionalis. Otherwise quite lacking and boring as far as natural history museums go. The Orthodox Greek church converted to this museum was interesting in itself. Drop by only if you happen to be in the area.

We said it was a portion, we paid 35 TL, we asked if you could add 2 extra lavash dishes, but no, it takes a thousand witnesses to say it's raw meatballs, I literally threw it in the trash full of tomato paste, it's not worth eating. I am someone who does not like raw meatballs, but this is the place to go especially for raw meatballs. (Original) Diğer tüm çiğköftecilerle karşılaştırılamayacak kadar bariz lezzetli. It has nothing to do with raw meatballs. (Original) Himzete sözümüz yok. Ancak çiğköfte degil kısır. Bol salçalı kısır yemek isterseniz yiyebilirsiniz. Çiğköfte ile uzaktan yakından alakası yok.

If you're exploring the nightlife in Burdur and looking for a unique spot to unwind, Karikatür Bi Kafe should be on your radar. This charming café stands out among the limited options for alcohol-serving venues, offering a delightful blend of tasty dishes and an inviting atmosphere. With its diverse drink menu and affordable prices, it’s perfect for enjoying good food while listening to pleasant music late into the night.
Loved the atmosphere! But the menu was a bit limited. I'd like to see more options here.

(Translated by Google) The only reason I gave 1 star is that there is no option for 0. 4 friends came to eat. Although we ordered at the same time, the meals came one by one, 10 minutes apart. After all the meals arrived, the waiters remembered that this was a restaurant and brought our services to the table. We wanted to order tea with the meal and the answer we got was (No) and when we asked what I mean, they said they removed the tea cauldron. After a short while, the staff sat at the table next to us and enjoyed the tea and cigarettes. I ordered Mexican pizza and asked for it without pepper, the product was served with lots of pepper. We ordered mixed omelette and were served scrambled eggs. None of the products were prepared according to the recipe and had nothing to do with the visuals on the menu. After the meals were served, no waiter came to our table again, we collected the empty meals ourselves, we wanted to contribute a little to the business. We did not want to disturb the waiters' comfort and the pleasure of the series. We had to go to the cash register to pay our bill. It added a little self-service atmosphere. The staff was indifferent, careless and a bit sleepy. They sat at the table next to us and watched a series on their phones while we were eating. The music list could have been a bit more colorful, there was no other genre playing than Turkish rap. The relevant staff should be given training on manners, diction and service as soon as possible, otherwise Çizgi Bi Kafe will continue to be a branch that will continue to tarnish its name. Yan masamızda oturup biz yemek yerken telefondan dizi izlediler. Müzik listesi biraz daha renklendirilebilirdi türkçe rapten başka tür çalmıyordu. İlgili personele en yakın zamanda terbiye, diksiyon ve servis eğitimi verilmeli aksi takdirde Karikatür Bi Kafe adını lekelemeye devam edecek bir şube olmaya devam edicektir.

(Translated by Google) The cubed and kashar dish at Şafak Burdur Şiş Restaurant was absolutely delicious! The softness and freshness of the cubed meat achieved a wonderful harmony with the melting of the kashar cheese and its integration with the meat. You feel that flavor in every bite. The portions are also quite filling. Her lokmada o lezzeti hissediyorsunuz. Porsiyonlar da oldukça doyurucu.

(Translated by Google) We ordered the seasoned chicken soup, Burdur shish kebab, and a variety of pide. The soup far exceeded my expectations. The Burdur shish kebab was just what we wanted. The pide with cubed cheese was exceptional. The service was also excellent. We liked it so much we stopped by again on our return from Antalya. The prices are also very reasonable. You should definitely try it. Mutlaka denemelisiniz.

(Translated by Google) The pita I tasted at Şafak Pide was really beyond my expectations. The dough is neither too thick nor too thin, just right; The edges were crispy and the inside was filled with plenty of ingredients and flavor. Especially its minced meat pita stands out with its spice balance and cooking mastery. The treats that come with hot pitas fresh from the oven also add a special touch. If you are looking for a delicious, satisfying and friendly pita experience, you should definitely stop by.

(Translated by Google) We ate here for the first time today and were thrilled! The pide was a real treat – the cheese melted beautifully, a visual and flavorful highlight. The Burdur Şiş was also incredibly delicious and grilled to perfection. We were particularly pleased with the fresh water and crisp salad that were served right at the start – a lovely touch! Despite the busy restaurant, the food arrived surprisingly quickly and was served with a smile. A big compliment to the friendly and attentive staff, who gave us excellent advice. We felt completely at home and would gladly return. Thank you for the great food and the friendly service!

(Translated by Google) The Burdur shish kebab was a disappointment. I ate it at three different places, the first two of which were well-known establishments in the industrial district, and compared to them, it tasted truly bland. The waiters were also friendly and very prompt. The pide with kashar and cubed meat was also top-notch. Kaşarlı kuşbaşılı pidesi de on numaraydı.
