Mines
Parco Archeominerario di San Silvestro is a family-friendly park in the charming town of San Vincenzo, Italy. It offers a unique blend of cultural heritage and natural beauty, making it a top attraction for history and nature enthusiasts. The park features mining history museums and offers guided tours through underground mines with galleries and tunnels, providing visitors with an immersive experience wearing hard hats.
Wonderful adventure to enjoy, especially with littles. The train is better suited for smaller children, the mine tour was a bit tricky with the smaller children because of the adult sized helmets. Cave and mine tour was a bit chilly when we went so I suggest bringing a jacket. The paths were a tad mucky when I went as well so I suggest wearing shoes you don’t care about because they will get dirty. Overall, service was great! I personally loved the little gift shop the most. I appreciated the English audio for the mine tour.
Kaeli W — Google review
love Italy, love Etruscan archaeology, been visiting for years. Not happy with tour organization of this park and mines. visited last week in Sept 24,----tour started half hour late ,straight into a rush of downloading apps, QR code, helmets ,rush and bother. No overview presented by tour guide, large group approx 24 , about 6 Italians. Downloads didnt work, ONLY 2 translate headsets available. TOUR GUIDE SPOKE ITALIAN FOR OVER 2 hrs and 30 min on the walking tour and in the train. Unbelievable -----buy the headsets !!! very available!!!! every small cultural outlet in Europe has them.
Elizabeth C — Google review
Exceptional experience. You will be guided by an extremely professional geologist into a special tour into caves. Really worth.
Vincenzo C — Google review
Fascinating journey inside a dismissed mine. Kids loved it!
Frankie V — Google review
Very scenic and a bit thrilling ride with the small train through the mines and back. Also, the Rocco San Silvestro was a nice short hike from the second trainstation!
D. T — Google review
A good way to pass half a day if you are staying in the area. We took the guided visit of the mines and the trip with the train. Both were very well explained and definitely interesting. Beware that the guides are explain only in Italian but I saw audio guides available for other languages. If you are a student ask for the 20% off discount. Bring a jacket for the mines since it is quite cold inside. Try to visit this on a not-so-hot day since there is some walking to be done.
Cristian B — Google review
The park is very interesting and isworth a visit. Unfortunately the best part is the explanation during the mine train ride and that was in Italian only
Echo — Google review
Terrible organization for tickets (you take number which is ignored). In museum every text in italian only, only exception is entrance price. 20e adult entrance fee for full experience. Outside signs in bad shape, not readable. Bad experience, will not recommend!

Teatro dei Concordi

Performing arts theater
Located in Campiglia Marittima, the Teatro dei Concordi is a small 19th-century theater that has been revitalized as a vibrant cultural venue. With its charming elliptical room and three tiers of boxes, it can accommodate around 600 seats. Throughout the year, the theater hosts a variety of shows and events, including theater performances, cabaret, and musical shows.
The Accademia dei Concordi (Association of Campiglia 's wealthy citizens) built this theatre in the half of 19th century and it was inaugurated the 26th devember 1867. It is made by three tiers of palchi and the roof is nicely decorated. Every year a good programme is prepared.

(Translated by Google) The Concordi theater is a very beautiful theatre, but maintenance needs to be improved. Yesterday afternoon there was a conference in which I attended and unfortunately I found the theater not in good condition. Bathrooms out of order, no air conditioning, an unpleasant smell of loot at the entrance, a symptom that the place has been closed for a long time and not ventilated before the event, an abandoned water bottle on a stage, curtains gray with dust. In short, it is sad to see such a theater so not kept as it should. My review corresponds to what I found a year ago.. your response is a bit late anyway.. I hope and am happy that things have changed..

Historic Sites
Palazzo Pretorio is a historic building located in the heart of Campiglia's old town, showcasing the town's historical ties to Florence and Pisa. Originally constructed in the 13th century and later expanded, it now houses the Historical Archive of the Municipality, a permanent exhibition dedicated to local painter Carlo Guarnieri, and the Mineral Museum. The facade is adorned with numerous coats of arms and features a striking clock tower that stands as a symbol of political and military power.
(Translated by Google) Located in the heart of the historic center, Palazzo Pretorio testifies to Campiglia's dependence on Florence and Pisa. The building was expanded several times over the centuries. The façade, characterized by two large white and gray limestone arches that open on the ground floor and preserve an epigraph on a corbel which dates the reconstruction of the building to 1246, also features 65 wonderful coats of arms of the Captains of the People. On the right side stands the clock tower, characterized by a bell tower. In addition to the Children's Library, today the building houses the following sites of cultural interest: -Historical Archive of the Municipality of Campiglia: it preserves both pre-unification documentation, produced by the ancient institutions responsible for the administration of this territory, and the documents of the Municipality which arose in the aftermath of the administrative unification of the Kingdom of Italy. -Carlo Guarnieri permanent exhibition: inaugurated in October 2013, it is dedicated to the work of the painter and xylographer Carlo Guarnieri, born on 23 October 1892 in Campiglia Marittima, where he is also remembered with a commemorative plaque affixed to his birthplace. -Mineral Museum: created on the initiative of the Tuscan Mineralogical Club established in 1968 and mainly displays samples of the minerals that were extracted during the exploitation of the rich Campigliese subsoil, but also of minerals that have been cataloged with a nomenclature that makes full reference to the Etruscan Coast as in the case of Ilvaite, but you can also see notable specimens of minerals from all over the world. Unmissable. Imperdibile.

During my month-long stay in Campiglia Marittima, I found myself returning to Il Pizza multiple times. While the pizza is undeniably tasty, it's the overall experience that truly captivates you. Nestled in a charming village square, it’s the perfect spot to savor your meal alongside a refreshing glass of wine or beer while soaking up the vibrant atmosphere and engaging in some delightful people-watching.
Best pizza we've had this week! Grazie Mille 😋 delicious pizza!

Il pizza is OK. It won't be your best Italian pizza, but it's not bad either. Even if you dine in (there are tables in the nice square, and also some tables inside), it's like a take away, which means you get disposable fork and knife, and pizzas are served in cartons. But, as I wrote, it's OK.
Simone S — Google review
a nice place on the city square with decent prices and good food, we only got disposable dishes when we sat down, its not a big deal because the focus of this restaurant seems to be serving pizza to go. The staff could learn some english so the communication would be better.

We stayed in Campiglia Marittima for a month and went to Il Pizza several times. The pizza is pretty good, but it's more about the experience that you get. You sit in the most picturesque little village square, and have your pizza and a glass of wine or a beer and enjoy life. People watching is 👌 and it's fun to just sit and enjoy the night life of the busy season. Seems to be a family owned business and they are are all wonderful people. Their outdoor tables are perfectly located for dining outdoors on a warm summer evening and enjoying the frequent evening entertainers. My children loved the dolce pizza, smothered in nutella and cream and pistacchio (carbs and chocolate, what's not to love?) Highly recommend.

Attenzione razzisti!! Grande Katastrophe! „Speak italian, we‘re in italy“ said the angry service man…the other guests told us, that he‘s very often such unfriendly… At the Ende of the Drama he raised his hand against me. Other guests apologized ashamed for him before they got up and left before their food came… Addendum after his reaction: No apologize for his racism?? If he told them (other guests) the truth what happened? Wow, he didn‘t even notice that I talked english although he tried to answer in english first!? Btw before I used the german-italian google translator to Talk to him… He is talking about respect although he screamed at me, not me to him. His colleague accepted that the pizza wasn‘t what I ordered - 5 minutes later he came back with the old one and asked aggresive, what I didn‘t like…

Trattoria La Merenda is a charming eatery that offers delicious and straightforward dishes suitable for both adults and children, even during the winter season. The restaurant's simplicity and high-quality food make it an accessible pleasure for everyone. Despite its small size, the place exudes a cozy atmosphere that adds to the overall dining experience. If you're in search of delectable cuisine, accompanied by an incredible setting and attentive staff, then Trattoria La Merenda is definitely worth considering.
Great little restaurant with only a few tables. We visited twice and both times the food was great particularly the pasta. Good value as well.

The owner presented behavior so low quality that I don't know if it's worth a comment. However, we were looking for the table for my parents anniversary, we checked a few restaurants to make sure it will match our taste, we decided to eat in this one and came back to ask for a table, when the Italian owner saw us the 2 time, he refused us a table saying with a mocking smile on his lips he was full. ( almost all the tables were empty)

(Translated by Google) We didn't have a reservation and were only seated inside, but we were pleasantly surprised. Delicious, "simple" Tuscan food, very child-friendly (with our two-year-old daughter) - overall, very good value for money! It doesn't always have to be a ten-page menu; in this case, there were about 15 dishes, all freshly cooked - and anything that was out was crossed off the board. It was perfectly fine. "Regular" pasta for children could also be ordered, even if it wasn't listed on the menu. Dessert was offered by the chef herself (e.g., Torta della Nonna). We absolutely recommend it! Völlig in Ordnung. „Normale“ Nudeln für Kinder konnten ebenfalls bestellt werden, auch wenn es nicht auf der Karte stand. Nachspeise wurde von der Küchenchefin selber angeboten (zb Torta della Nonna). Von uns eine absolute Empfehlung!

Day 2

West side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the west side side of town. Start the day off with Ristorante Pizzeria La Tavernetta, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to A Lampo - Il cane ferroviere. All together, your day would be filled with about 6 hours of non-stop fun.

Very cozy place at the center of the village. Service has been a bit overwhelmed by the crowd, but I can only speak for a saturday evening. Pizza had been okay but nothing special. Gnocchi had been good. The mixed salad had been very basic, it is just nothing you should order in Tuscany.

Avoid this place, the boss is everything but nice. Food is just OK, light quantities, and they charge you 1.5 euro / person for “bread and cutlery”… the guy said it’s normal in Italy but that’s the first time in a week I’m getting this.

I came here second time in the past two years, this year I thought that I will give a chance and I will eat in this restaurant. Unfortunately the food was not good and prices was high. Churches & Cathedrals
Nestled in the picturesque town of San Vincenzo, Tuscany, the Pieve di San Giovanni stands as a stunning representation of Romanesque-Tuscan architecture. This beautiful church is not only an architectural gem but also offers visitors a serene atmosphere surrounded by breathtaking natural landscapes. The Pieve's tranquil setting makes it an ideal spot for reflection and appreciation of both art and nature.
(Translated by Google) The parish church, known since 1075, shows affinity with the parish church of San Giusto in Suvereto in its Latin cross plan and in its trussed roof following the example of Pisan Romanesque architecture. The facade has a portal surmounted by an architrave with spiral motifs and a perforated lunette closed by a two-tone archivolt. Of great importance is the architrave of the portal on the left side, attributed to Master Matteo (who was responsible for the construction of the entire building), depicting a boar hunting scene (perhaps Meleager hunting the Calydonian boar) which symbolizes victory of Christ and his faithful over the devil. Under the roof of the parish church of San Giovanni at the top left, there is the palindrome of the "Sator", also known as the Sator Square, walled into the external wall. In this symbol of the Roman Empire the letters SPOR EANT are repeated. The oldest specimen, buried by Vesuvius on 24 August 79, was dug up in 1936 in Pompeii on a column of the Palestra Grande.

Visitors praise the wonderful food and atmosphere, emphasizing the exceptional dining experience and attentive staff.
What a totally wonderful food and atmospheric experience! I can not understand why you would not want to go here! Stop thinking about it and go! For some reason me and my family including three kids had the dining area for our selves during lunch. This place should be crowded! We got so well taken care of that we felt spoiled (in a good way). Well staffed - both in quality and quantity, delicious food, service-minded with us and the kids. Then there’s the view and the surroundings. It is one of Tuscany’s pearls. Wow! Did I say we were surprised about the pricing. It is not expensive.. the opposite: so worth the price! (Not cheap in any way, but not pricey). Also, we had to buy a bottle of their amazing wine that we had paired with the food. Thank you to all the staff. And thank you for maintaining this wonderful scenery and its surroundings.

(Translated by Google) This was our fifth visit to this restaurant. Unfortunately, it will also be our last. Risotto with scallops: more like rice than a fine risotto. A whole (small) scallop was on top. Perhaps a piece had been cut into it? The zucchini blossoms: one piece for €16! Couscous with four shrimp: the couscous was gone in two bites. €20, too. We canceled the main course of lamb at short notice. The once super-fine cuisine of Castello Bonaria has unfortunately disappeared. The two waiters were understanding of our concerns. The head chef, unfortunately, was not at all. He wasn't open to criticism. One antipasta out of four was removed from the bill. Unfortunately, that can't make up for a bad evening. We hope for fine Italian food that justifies the set prices, back at the Castello. Goodbye. If you are in the Castello, once you come to the hotel, you can eat alone at the restaurant. Purtroppo also per the ultima volta. I love zucca: a pezzo for 16 euros! Couscous with quattro gamberi: the couscous is sparito in due bocconi. Also for 20€. The super refined kitchen of the Castello Bonaria, at a fast pace, is purtroppo scomparsa. I therefore came here in the same way as I am aware of our richness. Purtroppo lo chef no. **RESTAURANT** In a quiet fold of a medieval village, we discovered a restaurant so exceptional, we returned the very next night—half curious, half skeptical. Was the first night’s brilliance just a one-off spark? It wasn’t. The second night wasn’t just consistent—it surpassed our first. Every dish was a composition: thoughtful, confident, and deeply rooted in both technique and soul. Service was seamless—present without pressure, warm without assumption. They remembered us, but more than that, they cared. What they’re doing here flirts with Michelin-level mastery—without the pomp. The balance of flavor, pacing, and atmosphere spoke of a kitchen and front-of-house in rare alignment.

Amazing restaurant. Attracted by the great reviews and a bit sceptical about it, we were positively surprised by their "trust me" suprise menu. The personel was very relaxed and super friendly. We orderd the three course surprise menu and got each an individual set of dishes. This allowed us to try six of their dishes. Very delicious and well set up dishes, without being too pretentious. Only wish for improvement: While their dessert was very nice (selection of cakes and fruits) it was not as sophisticated (in presentation) as the rest of the courses. But all in all, if you like fish, ist's an amazing experience. And of course they offer also great wine pairing.

It is rare to find somewhere that is innovative and Michelin quality without being cliched or pretentious. But Mamanonmama is certainly a rare find. Grazie a Tommaso e famiglia!

This restaurant is just fabulous. It is small and the atmosphere is private and cozy. The food is just extraordinary. the place where you can go to relax sit and have a dinner where you can leave outside the busy environment and just enjoy the food. Staff is nice and friendly with good knowledge in term of the wine and the other local products. If you pass by campiglia marittima or places near by you have to stop there and try!

Nestled along the Strada Statale Aurelia in Campiglia Marittima, Autogrill is a delightful pit stop for travelers seeking a moment of respite. This convenient location offers a modest yet satisfying menu featuring seasonal dishes and refreshing beverages. Known for its clean facilities, including restrooms and fuel services, Autogrill also serves up delicious panini and freshly squeezed orange juice—perfect for recharging after a long drive.
we stopped here to take a shower. compared to other showers in autogrill, this one had fewer utilities, no sink, mirror, hair dryer or toilet, the water was not warm but it was cleaner here than in other places and the stuff is very friendly. Also good cappuccino!

Very poor service from the staff. Poor manners, little cooperation, they don't want to sell you anything.

If you're planning a trip to Tuscany, make sure to include LosteriA on your culinary itinerary! After eight years away from this beautiful region, I discovered this gem during my Christmas visit and it quickly became my new favorite spot. The menu may be simple, but each dish bursts with flavor and freshness—something that's increasingly rare these days. From delightful starters like eggplant parmigiana and crostini misti to mouthwatering pasta dishes, every bite is a celebration of local ingredients.
What can I say ? It’s 8 years I don’t live in Tuscany anymore so each year during Christmas I look forward to eat some local food from my region and here I found my new favourite restaurant. I would recommend it to anyone who is visiting Tuscany to come here ! The menu is pretty simply but each dish is so tasty and fresh . Nowadays it’s hard to find these places so I will definitely come back next year . We had starters , some pasta dishes and we finished with my favourite : Fiorentina steak ! The steak was tender like butter and I couldn’t get enough of it ! We had loads of wine to pair with the food and I can say the man who worked there was able to pair it perfectly with each dish . Customer service was excellent and I loved the decor of the room too ! I’m looking forward to my next dinner here when I come to Tuscany .

Very good kitchen with local incredients und very good quality. The wine had also been really good. Parking is directly behind the restaurant a bit hidden. The staff is very friendly. Prices are quite high for that part of the region, but totally okay for the experience.

100% recommendation! You must not miss this place. Our waitress was fantastic and her amazing energy made the dining experience even better. I didn’t get her name, but hope to come back and enjoy her service and delicious food again 😌 The eggplant parmigiana and crostini Misti were a fabulous starter. I ordered the sausage and beans and was blown away. So delicious. The filet and rosemary potatoes were my 8 year olds favorite meal so far in Tuscany. We unfortunately didn’t get dessert because a tired child, but the ones we saw delivered to the table next to us looked amazing. PS - the waitress was very accommodating to our children (8 and 11 years) and to the 3 year old sitting close to us.

It is a very delicious, origanal italian restaurant. The service is very friendly and fast. It is a very beautiful place. The food has a very high qualitiy, espacially the pasta, because it is handmade.
