Aqua Park Zakopane is a modern and spacious all-weather waterpark located in the stunning Tatra Mountains of Poland. It offers a wide range of attractions for visitors, including adventure tubes, a wild-river ride, waterfalls, thermal baths, jacuzzi, and various pools for recreational swimming with swimming lanes. The park is suitable for the whole family and provides fun activities for both kids and adults.
Fantastic experience, especially if you stay in the hotel adjoining the Aqua park

We has daily free access included in our accommodation. It was great! Clean, not too crowded, even earlier when families were there. The 2 big slides were amazing, there was ample room in the bubbles outdoors and indoors. The locker system is genius and very easy to use. The views of the mountains are beautiful. Very easy to spend 2 hours here unwinding. The staff were very patient and friendly, despite our terrible Polish!

Very nice aquapark. In the city so quite small. Not a lot of seating inside.
Elad S — Google review
A great way to spend a cold afternoon with our two teenage boys while visiting Zakopane. The outdoor pools we very clean and really warm and nice to relax in and look at the mountains. Good value for a couple of hours and yiu can hire towels too. The slides were good fun for the boys.
Darren K — Google review
The Aqua Park ticket price Happy Hour is very correct coz more than 3h when you don't have childrens you cannot stay coz very boring. The pools inside still cold and outside is just perfect 🥰 The sauna areea is really not intersting , and the smell is not confortable. The parking capacitty is very small, and you need to pay 1zloty for each .
Magda M — Google review
Small space with a lot of activities. Issue is with depth of pools (130cm deap), and only one place for babies. Probably would address issue with packing. Not enough space. In general our family of 4 was happy with unlimited time entry for 68eur
Adomas R — Google review
Very nice and clean aquapark witk many possibilities how to spend the relax time. Something for kids and also for adults like saunas or outside pool with termal water. During our visiting the termy was full but not so extremely. But the stuff mainly in bistro was not so ready for such many people. The same was with the number of sun beds. It's dimensioned for few persons. And this is why "only" four stars. The termy is not ready for more people.
Pavel V — Google review
the park itself is nice, clean water, a lot if different pools to choose from, slides are fun too. But the food is regular market food just heated up in a microwave and the saunas open at 14 and are 18+ which kinda ruined the mood

National park
Tatra National Park in Poland is a vast mountainous area offering lakes, caves, and diverse wildlife. It spans 215 km between Poland and Slovakia, featuring attractions like Lake Morskie Oko, Gubalowka Mountain, and Kasprowy Peak. The park boasts waterfalls, valleys, and skiing opportunities. Nestled within the High Tatras mountain range in Lesser Poland Voivodeship, it includes peaks such as Rysy at 2,499 meters.
It is a stunning destination for nature lovers and hikers. the park offers breathtaking views and well-maintained trails for all skill levels. It’s a peaceful retreat with opportunities for wildlife spotting. Its a memorable outdoor experience.
Saif R — Google review
Agree with other reviews, that place is truly beautiful and accessible, even though it's around 8km one way to Morske Oko. However, parking is expensive and toilets are not free( except honey buckets) , so make sure to bring some cash. It was a little bit chilly at the top( at the beginning of May), bring some warm clothes with you and grab some snacks.
Iryna — Google review
Mountains have breathtaking views. Cable car was a less than 15 minutes to the top. Definitely worth the time and hike. Dress accordingly and wear proper shoes. Highly recommend visiting on a clear sunny day. Note: they charge for bathrooms, however the bathrooms near the ticket booths are free of charge.

A breathtaking experience! Tatra National Park is a paradise for nature lovers and hikers. The mountains, forests, and streams create stunning scenery at every turn. Trails are well-marked and range from easy walks to challenging hikes, so there's something for everyone.

Perfect park, in all seasons with different types of path
LaVon — Google review
I recently visited Morskie Oko. It is definitely breathtaking. However, PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THE HORSE CARRIAGES! The horses are treated poorly and looked very overworked, pulling asses of 10-15 people up and down the hill. It really ruined my hike seeing horses being mistreated in such a cruel way and sent up and down the hill while it’s so hot outside. I saw horses with tongues hanging out of their mouths while carrying the carriage, really horrible. While I saw that they were fed I did not see that they had any water given in this heat. Honestly, it’s 2025, if you want to see the mountains , you need to be prepared to hike for the views. I also saw vehicles for disabled people. So there is no excuse to this cruelty. Last year, a horse collapsed right there while carrying people up the hill. Many have died after few months of being in this service or sent to slaughterhouses. They don’t have a long lifespan due to them being constantly overworked and mistreated. Please do not promote such a horrible treatment towards animals, who definitely deserve better than this.

MYSZOGRÓD ZAKOPANE

Amusement park ride
Playground
Myszogród Zakopane is a unique attraction featuring live mice living in miniature houses, villages, and even a ski resort. Visitors can witness the mice riding trains, flying in UFOs, and residing in fully equipped treehouses or traditional highland cottages. The underground setting showcases various environments for the mice to inhabit, from ski slopes to cozy home libraries. While some visitors found the conditions satisfactory with a slight odor, others noted issues with the cashier and animal treatment at related museums.
A Magical Experience for the Whole Family! Myszogród in Zakopane is truly one of the most unique and delightful attractions we have ever visited! Our entire family, from kids to grandparents, was absolutely enchanted by this magical world of mice. We had never heard of anything like it before, and it completely exceeded our expectations. The attention to detail in every miniature scene is simply breathtaking. The tiny houses, beautifully designed furniture, musical instruments, and even moving trains create a fairytale-like experience that feels straight out of a dream. Watching the mice interact with their surroundings—riding trains, exploring little castles, and even “flying” in tiny UFOs—was an absolute joy. What makes this place so special is not just the adorable mice but also the creativity and passion behind it. It’s clear that a lot of love and dedication went into making Myszogród a one-of-a-kind attraction. Unlike anything else in the world, it changes the way you see these little creatures, making them feel like tiny, charming residents of their own magical town. We spent over an hour just taking it all in, and the kids didn’t want to leave! It’s a must-visit for families, animal lovers, and anyone who enjoys imaginative experiences. Highly recommended—Myszogród is a place that will stay in our hearts forever!
Oksana O — Google review
Be careful: We witnessed mice eating their newborn babies. The spectacle is not for children! Advantages: Cheap attraction for the whole family. Amazing decorations and cute mice. Disadvantages: Toilets were dirty. The museum is very small.
Arina Z — Google review
The place was quite unique and definitely something you don’t see every day. It was very cool to explore and watch, and the concept itself is impressive. However, the experience is rather short — you can see everything in about 30 minutes. For that amount of time, it felt quite expensive. Overall: A fascinating and unusual attraction that’s worth seeing once, but be aware it’s a brief visit for the price.
Christopher G — Google review
A very charming and unique little attraction! 🐭✨ The idea of creating small themed worlds for the mice and degus is absolutely adorable — from mountain villages to fairy-tale forests, each setup looks like a miniature wonderland. Watching the mice explore, climb, and interact with their surroundings was truly heartwarming and fun to see up close. The ticket price was 28 PLN, which feels a bit high considering how short the visit is. The displays are creative and detailed, but some areas could definitely use better maintenance — a few enclosures didn’t smell great and looked like they could be cleaner. I also noticed that some parts of the setups (like high poles or steep slopes) could be unsafe for the tiny animals. Overall, it’s a very memorable experience, especially for animal lovers or families with kids. With a bit more attention to cleanliness and animal safety, this place could easily become a must-visit gem in Zakopane. ❤️
Marko M — Google review
Awful conditions for the mice. The smell was unbearable and if it was like that for me, I can't imagine how bad it must be inside the cages. Poo everywhere. Unacceptable. There were way too many mice to a cage, especially one tiny one where all the mice were piled on top of each other. There was 1 wheel per cage, which is not enough for so many mice. I saw 3 mice trying to crawl in at the same time. The wheels were also too small I think and will cause back problems for the mice. Even disregarding the blatant animal welfare issues, as a customer, the experience was awful due to the smell. This place should be shut down.
LPS L — Google review
We just visited this place while waiting for our train. You can pay by card, 28 zl per ticket is quite expensive for small area. However, they have very nice decorations and very cute mice. Friendly lady, clean toilets.
Q V — Google review
Attraction is in basement, many different windows with different setting. It was cute to watch the mouses in different environments. Conditions was quite good, not dirty, just a bit of a smell from beginning. The only problem was cashier. We didn't have a problem the payments was possible only by cash, but she wanted exact amount of cash because she didn't have any change. We have to leave and buy something in order to have some change exactly as she wanted. Not very welcoming.
Silvia C — Google review
Very nice place, we really enjoyed. My daughter which is 3 years old didn't want to leave Zakopane without visiting Myszogrod for the second time. So we have to turn around and visit it.

If you're on the lookout for a quirky and entertaining experience, "Dom do góry nogami" in Zakopane is a must-visit! This unique upside-down house offers visitors an optical illusion that plays with your senses and challenges your perception of gravity. Perfect for those seeking a lighthearted break from mountain hikes, this compact two-level structure has been captivating tourists since its opening in 2007. Expect to feel a delightful sense of disorientation as you navigate through its creatively designed interiors.
One of the Zakopane’s attraction and it’s in the city centre, easily accessible by walking. It’s a tiny house, so better to wait if recess any group already. Experience the phenomenon in the form of a different effect of gravity on humans and lets you to free your imagination with a guarantee of great fun.

Don't forget to plan a visit to this upside down world literally in the city centre. Poland has a few of them and they're super funny. Although walking with snow and ice mess inside was trouble but that's not on them. The ticket price was about 30pln which hasn't been updated online. Overall, a lovely fun place to visit and kids love it. Poland has a few more on the Baltic Coast.

Sarnia Skała is a hiking trail that leads up a rocky ridge of dolomite limestone to a summit offering panoramic views of surrounding peaks. The easiest way to reach the 1377m peak is through Dolina Strazyska and then through Dolina Bialego, with the route becoming more challenging as you ascend. It's about a 1.
Very nice place. Just try to find out where to start hiking. If the climb starts with stairs better choose another entrance with regular roads and level cascades. To climb the stairs up for ~2 hours is extreamely dificilt for regular people.
Giedrius X — Google review
Rocky, slippery path, steep climb in places. Good shoes recommended. Beautiful view of the High Tatras and the city of Zakopane.
Lubomír V — Google review
Great place for family tour, it takes 3 to 4 hours depending on your condition. Suitable for kids 8 plus. Parking is super small. You can park on the carpark located 1.6 km away and get the bus paid separately.
Daniel W — Google review
Beautiful viewpoint, not to long of a climb. Moderate trail, I’d recommend moving from Siklawica waterfall, easier to climb. Lots of people on trail.
Alena L — Google review
To get there you will climb stairs for 1h, but view is amazing
Andris P — Google review
It was amazing walk there with the beautiful views ans snow around
Anna K — Google review
Nice place to hike Not a complex one but could be challenging during windy weather conditions (especially on the top) The route from the parking to the waterfall Siklawica then to this place, took us around 2h (if you take some time to make photos and rest). Otherwise it could be 1.5 h. Then you can go back but use another route via the second waterfall called Sarni (the route is a little bit longer but I think it is more beautiful) . Overall it took us 4.5h to return to the parking lot
Leonid K — Google review
Beautiful path and landscapes. The route is very varied: easy walking, hikimg, hard walking, and climbing. On the route there are more resting point with wooden bench, so you can sit down and take a breath. From the top of the hill the view is amazing. It's worth to hiking up there.

Karczma Niedźwiedź i spółka is a charming spot that truly embodies the essence of cozy dining. A visit to this delightful establishment is essential when exploring the town. Guests rave about their incredible sauerkraut soup, which comes in generous portions, and the hot cider that warms you from within. The menu features mouthwatering dishes like tender lamb shank paired with creamy mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables, as well as regional trout and delectable apple pie.
Food was great. They have a pretty diverse menu with many drinks and even a kids menu. The service was good. The place is popular so it will most likely be busy but the tables and booths are large and there is good space. The prices were good but a bit on the high side.

The service was outstanding! Kamil was incredibly welcoming and made sure we were comfortable and happy with our food. He’s a genuinely nice guy who truly cares about his customers. The food was exceptional. We tried the pierogi (both meat-filled and potato-and-cheese-filled), soup, and lamb shank. Every single dish was absolutely amazing and worth every bite. I would happily come back again and again. The atmosphere was cozy, with just the right level of background music—not too loud, just perfect. Everything was exactly as I hoped it would be. Highly recommend this place—10/10!

The Sport Corner Restauracja | Pub is a great place to go for casual eats, a lively bar, and televised sports. They have a great selection of snacks and meals as well as drinks, and you can play pool, darts, and foosball there. The staff is extremely competent in English, so it's easy to get along with them.
The Guinness was flat so switched up to a porter 9% was nice, tasted like Coca-Cola rather than a strong port beer Had a burger and cheese & spinach perogi baked, was good. For a sports bar, it closes at 10pm so only got chance to see 45 minutes of the game. Overall, staff are friendly, solid location and food was top.

We stopped at Sport Corner for a quick lunch and it was a good choice. Between us we had a cheeseburger, pierogi ruskie, pierogi z bryndza and a salami pizza. All were well cooked and arrived quickly. The service was efficient, if a little brusque, but everything ran smoothly. It’s an interesting sport-themed bar and restaurant with plenty to look at while you eat. A solid, fuss-free option for a casual meal in the city centre.

Stopped here for a drink, then decided to order some food. Not a lot of atmosphere, although it was a Monday night. Had the chicken in spinach sauce, which came with rice and vegetables. The food was nice, but there wasn't much of it. Vegetables were probably factory prepared and from a frozen bag. Left feeling hungry. Wasn't clear whether this place had table service, or whether you were expected to order at the bar. People seemed to be doing both.

Beautiful waterfall. It was half frozen when we were there. The view from there at Morskie oko is stunning. Strongly recommended! If you climb half hour from there up you will get to Czarny Staw , another beautiful lake just below Rysy. The way there is difficult and slippery, it is better to have sticks and special shoes or traction devices for shoes for climbing on icy surface, but it is worth it definitely

The center features three easy-rated green and blue runs, along with a ski school that caters to beginners.
Love this ski slope. We have been several times now and keep coming back. Ski hire is very cheap less than £15 for all day hire. Love the restaurant and the mulled wine. Great for beginners and people to grow confidence before heading to the larger slopes.

First time skiing couldn’t be better. Great place for beginners with teachers available for 190PLN per hour unless group, then it’s cheaper, we paid 305PLN for an hour for 4 adults with Helena. If you planning to book, do it day before for next day, as they’re really busy. This is very busy place with loads of children and adults who just visiting. The rental of equipment is available on site, skis, sticks, boots and helmet were 60PLN for 4 hrs, which is great price. Pass was 140PLN for 4 hrs per person.

It's good for the kids or for the beginners. Not much to do if you are intermediate. Around 6 trails but all the same apart one where you have lessons and few obstacles. Google maps wasn't very accurate on a road either. Cheap otherwise. All equipment and clothing for rent too.

This was my and my husband's first experience with alpine sports and with lessons. Can't recommend this school enough. Was so much fun! We booked 3-day packages for ski and snowboard. There were small groups of max. 5 people + instructor. Within 3 days I learned some SNB basics thanks to instructor Pawel and will definitely continue learning. See you next season!
Ekaterina G — Google review
It is a very nice place to visit for ski lessons when you are beginner and for kids to learn fast. The ski instructors are very professional and they speak good English. You meet to make a reservation at least a day before. It has a beginner's ski lift that makes the lessons much easier. There is ski equipment rental at the spot and a very nice "alpine style" restaurant. Try the bean soup with bacon, it will warm up your day!
Minas C — Google review
Great value, friendly ski school for children. We've been two years because the set up is so safe and you can watch the lessons from the comfortable restaurant at the bottom of the slopes. The instructors speak many languages and make learning fun for the kids. This year, when snow is thin on the ground and some schools are struggling Nosal has kept the conditions for thoroughly enjoyable skiing.

Good nursery slopes if you are learning (like we were). Staff are helpful and speak some English which is much appreciated. Parking is not free but reasonable.

Mountain peak
Kasprowy Wierch is a 1,987-meter mountain in Poland, known for its accessibility via cable car and as a popular destination for skiing and hiking. The area offers good conditions for downhill skiing from November to early spring on the upper mountainside of Kasprowy Wierch peak, with artificial ski slopes closer to the town open from December through March.
The up-down ticket is 149 zloty, giving you 1 hour and 40 minutes at the top. It’s a bit more expensive, but if you want to spend more time up there, you can buy your return ticket once you’ve gone up. I remember seeing a lower price before, so I guess it’s gone up during the busy season. It was a great experience, and the views were amazing.
Esra G — Google review
Great mountain with a moderate hike up from the cable car ground station. Stunning views and lots of routes to other mountains are available.
ShineZ — Google review
Easy Gondola ride up to the mountain top. Beautiful views and small trails to walk to various view points on the mountain. Public parking is a long walk from the gondola so be warned!
Jeff E — Google review
What a view you get from the top. We were very blessed with sunny weather, so the visit was incredible. The ride up there was really nice, with beautiful scenery all around you. Once on top, you can just relax, have some food, visit the observatory located on a small hill just above the main building. Gift shop is available as well. Hiking routes are also available from all the directions. Wintertime, skiing slope is here for use as well with separate cable lift. The views of Slovak and Polish Tatras were breathtaking. This is a must place to visit once in Polish Tatras for sure.
Jarmila B — Google review
We bought tickets the night before and had Bolt pick us up from our Airbnb so getting there was easy. I admire all of the dedicated hikers but we were short on time and focused on getting to the top to soak in the views. It’s stunning and worth it. If we didn’t go, we would’ve regretted it. We had 8:00 am admission tickets for Thursday morning mid September. Absolutely perfect time to go! From NE OH

Breathtaking views.. 🚠We were too lazy to climb, so we took cable car😁 the ride was very smoof, with some stories about Tatrai mountain (in polish and English language). 🍃Up there is windy, so you better have something warm to wear. 🎫Bye tickets before, so you don't have to stay in boring long line.
Carmen — Google review
I highly recommend buying tickets online in advance, especially on clear days. We took a chance, stood in line (1.5 hours!), and ended up running out of tickets. The next day, we bought tickets in advance, but the weather turned bad, and everything was foggy up there. That was an adventure, too, but we only saw the mountain views up to a certain height.

Dolina Białego is a picturesque valley in the Tatra Mountains, offering gentle hiking trails through forests, waterfalls, and streams with stunning views of Zakopane. The trail starts at the entrance to Strazyska Valley and leads to Dolina Bialego Potoku, known for its beauty. Hikers can take the relatively easy yellow trail uphill towards Sarnia Skala. The route can be slippery and challenging but rewards with breathtaking scenery.
Gorgeous in the winter. Having crampons would be advised.

The Białego Valley (Dolina Białego) in Zakopane is one of my favorite spots in the Tatra Mountains, and I’ve been there many times. It’s a peaceful, scenic trail that runs alongside a clear mountain stream, creating a soothing, relaxing atmosphere throughout the entire walk. The sound of the rushing water is your constant companion, and it adds a calming background to the beautiful surroundings. Although it’s a relatively short and pleasant route, it’s not suitable for strollers—even lightweight or sporty ones. The path is narrow, with uneven rocky sections and wooden footbridges, which makes it impossible to push a pram. If you're visiting with a baby, like I did recently, you’ll definitely need a baby carrier. I used one on this trip, and it made the whole experience enjoyable and manageable. Despite the trail’s limitations in terms of accessibility, it remains one of the most charming valleys around Zakopane. It's never too crowded, and the feeling of walking close to nature, following the stream through the forested gorge, is truly special.

Big park! Some areas can not be purchased on behalf of others, but some can.
Anna — Google review
Nice hike near the stream. Not hard but walking uphill. Not fits to strollers with small wheels
Sharon G — Google review
Gorgeous hiking trail to walk through, full of valleys, waterfalls, bridges and a river which you walk right next to. The trail leads right up to the mountain top, where you can sit on the benches and rest, while you look around.
Riplis M — Google review
The park is beautiful and the waterfall at the end is breathtaking. The views are outstanding. Well worth the park fee which is peanuts but but helps keep these locations thriving!
Harveer C — Google review
Perfect outdoor activity. Even with average weather, the views are amazing. Ensure you are equipped with good shoes as the path and landscape changes from plain to rocky to steep quite often. Even if you GPS tells you it's a quick stroll, plan a day as you might be too tired to do anything afterwards (else than eating). Start from Dolina Białego go to Sarna Skała then back to Zakopane through Dolina Strążyska... Unforgettable experience. Ensure your cameras and spare batteries are fully charged too :)

The Muzeum Oscypka is a heritage center that features traditional crafts and displays showcasing the cheesemaking techniques of the highland village. Visitors can learn about the history of oscypek and witness a demonstration of how it's made in various animal or symbol shapes after a brief theoretical introductory session, which unfortunately is only available in Polish. The guides are known for their engaging and humorous presentations, but non-Polish speakers may need translation assistance.
Very good experience. Polish language only as it's a lot of information which are passed in a nice and comprehensive way.

We participated in the traditional way to make Oscypek cheese ( with cow's milk as a substitute ). Very fun and unique experience!

It was really interesting. You can buy oscipek here. If you don’t understand Polish - do not visit this place.

Must Visit! Amazing place. Tours are in Polish - no english translation unfortunately. Cheap tickets. Very friendly staff. Very informative. You get to mould your own oscypek at the end. Just an FYI: this isn’t a museum as such… you don’t walk around looking at stuff. Definitely recommend 👍🏻 Thank you to the guy at reception for shrink wrapping our oscypek for our flight ✈️ They run out oscypek t-shirts 😭 so we might have to come back when we’re in Zakopane again.

Interesting experience, the main speaker is native to the region and speaks with local accent. Overall it was interesting to get to know local history and to taste cheese
Lu4nik — Google review
Not recommended if you don't want to risk catching something because they pack all people in a single crowded room that has no hangers for coats(you leave them on the bench) and no ventilation(all the windows are closed). Pretty hot inside and these conditions are hard to bear in winter clothes. The overall show is quite long because every child is trying to mix cheese and pose for pictures. The story they tell about cheese is quite interesting so if it wasn't for conditions it could be a five star feedback.
Andrey G — Google review
Polite but Very disappointing. According to front desk person. One must buy ticket two days ahead online. No cash at the door, not even for up price. If you don't not speak polish or highland, you are turned away....even if you understand... even if you are willing to wait. Tip: Do not be spontaneous. You must plan ahead. You must order online. They can not know if you do not speak Polish. It would have been a great way to learn about the area and use the 2 hours I unexpectedly had time for.
Anna H — Google review
Interesting place to visit if you're interested in Poland's history of cheese making and how the process occurs. The tour is for polish speaking visitors but a lovely staff member translated the talk in English to help us understand. It is a bit long, around 1.5 hours, but I had a good experience, especially molding our own cheese.

Willa Pod Aniołem, meaning "under an angel," is a slightly pricier dining option compared to others in the area, but it offers a picturesque setting with stunning views of the Tatra mountains. The villa is well-maintained and spacious, with almost every room having its own bathroom. Guests can enjoy a large living room and even have space in the yard for organizing barbecues.

The villa is well-kept and refreshed, there is plenty of space for everyone. Virtually every room has a bathroom, which is an additional advantage of the villa. Huge living room, a bit of space in the yard to organize a barbecue. I highly recommend this place. We had a 16-minute walk to Krupowki. STRH Bistro Art Cafe is a charming and cozy spot located away from the tourist crowds in Zakopane. Nestled in a stylish building, it offers a relaxing atmosphere with beautiful mountain views. The cafe serves delicious coffee, beer from local breweries, healthy juices, smoothies, and summer cocktails. It's known for its great service and comfortable seating. Additionally, the menu features adventurous options including vegetarian and vegan dishes that change with the seasons.
Very cozy bistro with lovely views of the Tatra National Park and the soothing sound of a river just down below. I had the shakshuka and also the salmon+avocado toast. Both very delicious options. The only think I’d change is the sourness of the Shakshuka (maybe caused by the tomatoes, but it didn’t have a perfect balance of savoury, sweet and spicy as I know it should have). I’d change nothing about that salmon toast though. I had excellent service provided by Zosia, from the start to end of dining experience. Thank you. Oh and the Flat white was packed with nice nutty roast flavour; excellent coffee beans. Very nice and cozy indoor and outdoor seating arrangement.

Loved this spot! Thank goodness for Google Maps and the reviews cause we wouldn’t have ventured in here. Located in the 3rd floor (yes with an elevator), this café offers great service, great food and great views. The lunch menu doesn’t start til 2pm so I was obligated to get an order of French toast while we waited til 2 o’clock to order the mushroom soup :). Enjoyed everything we had here. The waiter offered a table right at the window even though it could’ve held more people and we never felt rushed. Highly recommend this place. Oh, and then there was the plum tart with a side of baklava ice cream. 🙌🏼

You know when you just love a place and wish it was your neighbourhood haunt but since it isn’t, the best you can do is stay for hours and order everything you can fit into your belly? If you don’t, come to STRH and you’ll know what I mean. Overlook the street from inside, cozy up by the fire or cuddle up with a blanket outside by the rushing water. The menu mixes classics and seasonal treats so we were lucky to be there during the days of plums, mushrooms and golden tree canopies.

Dolina Strążyska is a picturesque mountain valley in Zakopane, offering a short hiking path through beech forests and along a rocky stream. The 3 km long valley is popular for its well-known hiking trails, including the route to the Siklawica waterfall. While visiting in winter can make the walk quite challenging, it offers a unique experience.

Giewont, a mountain massif in Tatra National Park, is a favorite among hikers with its three peaks and well-marked trails. The area also boasts popular attractions such as Koscieliska Valley, Strazyska Valley, Chocholowska Valley, and the stunning Morskie Oko lake. Adventurous visitors can tackle challenging trails leading to famous Tatra peaks like Giewont and Rysy.
This is great hike with options of route ranging from easy to moderate. The views are great when there is clear weather. Choose to visit in off season and not a sunny day of you want to avoid crowds. The highest part has a few chains to suppor, which are fun to use.

Nice peak with big crucifix and 360 degree view. We have started the hike from Mala Laka parking (price 30 PLN or 20 PLN for whole day depending on which parking lot you choose). Ascend takes about 3 hours. It's not very difficult and it's nice. There are chains below the peak but nothing very difficult. Whole hiking path is very well marked. We choose yellow path for descend and it was a mistake. The path is terrible with a lot of gravel, loose stones and huge slippery boulders (when wet). Never again. But whole hike is great and you are surrounded by beautiful nature.
Vladimír J — Google review
I hiked to Giewont at the beginning of April. There was still a lot of snow on the ascent from Kuźnice, and I’m glad I didn’t descend on that same side, as it would have been quite difficult. The top of the mountain is easy to reach; climbing up through the chains wasn’t difficult. I descended on the west side of the mountain, and it was much better. There was barely any snow, and the stone stairs looked well maintained. I definitely recommend having microspikes with you when there is still snow above 1500m. Trekking poles can also be helpful. Beware of the avalanches. The view from the top is totally worth any difficulties!
Anna D — Google review
Definitely worth to visit, closer to top views are breathtaking. Also cool that you can continue to different direction and get even more tops visited. However, consider crowds. At Wednesday, around 13.00 it was very long queue to the top in the last section. Instead of 20 minutes it would take at least 2 h. So be the early bird and it will be okay

"Podwodny Świat," located in Zakopane, underwent a thorough modernization in 2020 and introduced self-guided audio tours a year later. It offers an educational experience for families, allowing visitors to observe fish behavior in their natural habitat without the need for goggles or snorkels. The facility provides good value for money and features various biomes to explore. Additionally, it houses salamanders, poison dart frogs, and an intriguing ant farm.
A small but very interesting place for a good price. Parking is a bit problem, I suggest walking:)

Would be a decent place to take children who are interested in fish, but be warned it is quite small and not too interesting for adults unless you're really passionate about fish. The aquarium is nicely decorated and some of the tanks are quite cool, but it was a little underwhelming overall. Also the toilets definitely need some work as the female toilets smelt strongly of urine.

The fish and animals are interesting but its over priced ($20) for 2 kids 2 adults and they said it takes 30 minutes to have a look the whole thing but it took us only 15 minutes for whole tour. The whole place was short and small. Do not waste your money!

It was quiet dissapointing, I had higher expectations. Parking is only available on the other side of the busy road, and the spaces are limited. There is a pedestrian crossing so safe crossing is available with children. The place is accessible for the disabled (not the end of the exhibition, because there are stairs) but not the impaired. There is no audiobook for the animals, and no English translations, only polish. The state of the toilet is dissapointing, there was a chart, that showed it is cleaned everyday, but I doubt that, considering it is not a busy place to build up this much of dirt and dust in one day. The animals are kept in very small tanks. For small fish it might be suitable, but there were lots of large fishes, who could not turn properly in their tank. In the end it was a pleasant experience, suitable for a rainy day, where nothing else could be done. Tickets can be bought online. For it's price it could be better.

Small especially for the price, I spent 20min to see everything. Audio guide and all information is in Poland language.
Artūrs T — Google review
I am highly disappointed. I was expecting to see various fishes and other water animals in good arranged scenery. Unfortunately, place is done at cost. There are only several types of fishes. Aquariums are almost not decorated - few stones, necessary devices and food - that’s all. Some of them are quite dirty. Place is expensive taking into account value for money. I was expecting a guide who will tell my children some exciting facts or stories but I only heard I should call earlier if I wanted guide. Price, of course, didn’t change - paid 59 PLN for... 15-25 minutes? In e.g. Wrocław you will see much more and can spend whole day for slightly higher price. I feel I wasted time and money.

The Tatra Museum, located in Zakopane, is a charming 19th-century cultural institution that offers a wealth of knowledge about the Tatra Mountains and Podhale region. With 11 branches, it provides an immersive experience into the artistic creation and cultural heritage of the area. Visitors can explore ethnological information, art, natural history exhibits, and traditional highlander cottages showcasing everyday utensils and handicrafts.
I highly recommend to visit this museum in the beginning of your trip to Zakopane! It's the perfect introduction to Tatra region culture and wildlife. We really enjoyed the whole experience and learned a lot. Staff was very friendly and helpful :)
Aleksandra S — Google review
As I read from another comment, I strongly recommend to visit the Tatra Museum before you do anything else in Zakopane. A brief overview of the lives and the history of Podhale region. Get an idea of why this place is so much different from other places in Poland.
Pingyuan C — Google review
This museum turned out to be a real gem — much more interesting than we expected. It is one of the oldest regional museums in Poland, founded in 1888 to showcase the culture and art of the Podhale region. The exhibitions are spread over several floors: the ground floor features a historical and ethnographic section, the first floor is dedicated to natural history, the second floor hosts temporary exhibitions, and the third is reserved for staff. The displays are rich and thoughtfully arranged, with many interactive elements that bring the experience to life. One of the highlights is the reconstruction of a traditional highlander house interior — visitors can listen (in Polish or English) to stories about the layout, furnishings, customs, and everyday life in the “white” and “black” rooms. The narration, accompanied by traditional music, helps vividly imagine what life was really like in such a home. The natural history section is equally engaging, offering insight into the geology, flora, and fauna of the Tatra Mountains. While we’re usually not fans of stuffed animals, the taxidermy here is of high quality and gives a close-up look at the region’s wildlife — including bears, wolves, lynx, and birds of prey. Overall, this is a very well-curated museum and definitely worth a visit, whether you're interested in regional culture or simply looking for a deeper understanding of the Tatra region.
Anna K — Google review
We decided to visit it to understand a bit about the Tatra mountains. It was a pleasant surprise. 1. They have cloak rooms, and lockers that helped us to store our rainwear. 2. The audio guides(purchased separately/not included in ticket) helped us immensely. 3. 99% artifacts had English translation. 4. They have arranged the artifacts on two floors. First floor showcases history of Zakopane, the second floor showcases Tatra mountains. 5. The staff was polite and efficient. While we liked the Zakopane history section, we loved the Tatra exhibition. The stones are arranged in chronological order and gives a glimpse of how the geology evolved. The two videos on large screens are helpful in case you don't have audio guides. The best part was juxtaposition of animals(exhibits) and leaves in ascending order of altitude. Geology enthusiasts can spend an entire day here, while noobs like me can easily invest 3h.

I would give 10 stars if I could! Excellent English headphone translation system guide. Thanks to it ,we’d visited the Tatra caves, We saw the whole picture of the outstanding niche of the Tatra mountains, and the unforgettable irresponsibility of some people. And yaaa, it contains lovely fun educational games for kids and adults. Friendly centrum guides.

Visuals are great but the English audio guide is not synched to visuals. So if you don't speak polish everything is out of sync and you have no idea what is on screen. Drop the audio translation and just add English subtitles.

Lovely museum where both adults and kids can learn about Tatra Mountains, their beauty, flora and fauna and understand how important is to protect the heritage of mother nature. In the museum most activities can be found indoors, however you can also take a walk in the park. We recommend reserving the tickets in advance (the entry is free but the capacity of the museum is limited). Thank you for the opportunity to visit such an amazing place.

This is an unique place where a pair of deers can live in a town. There is a mountain river, a bridge and a forest. Be aware that the deers are not very friendly to children. Also you can see animals sculptures representing local mountains wild inhabitants.

Great place for everyone. It allows you to learn more about our beautiful Tatra Mountains as well as how to behave. It is very modern and well equipped. Interactive boards, educational games for children at every stage, even games that use Microsoft Kinect. You can spend here several hours if you take your kids to Discovery Room. Before you go, book tickets for specific hours just to ensure you will not wait for too long. There is no free parking lot, but 2-3 minutes of walk you will find a spot easily.

It's a tiny place, but absolutely fantastic. The atmosphere was very lovely, the staff very helpful and friendly. We were allowed dog inside as the weather wasn't the best for eating outside. Food was excellent. 10/10

A really nice place with very tasty food. From the outside you would never assume how big it is inside, and very cosy. Food is reasonably priced and tastes great. We left the restaurant rolling down the hill, because we were unable to walk :-) Staff is friendly and helpful.

Recently visited as a group of 8, the food was nice, and the service was ok, however, there are three things to be mindful of: We ordered water to the table.. for 3 bottles we were charged 90 zloty! That seems like a crime in itself. There were no diet drinks on the menu, full-fat only, and the toilet was outside of the restaurant, open to the public and not very clean. Do not recommend and definitely won't be coming back.

And the amount of food it’s just perfect and exceptional. If we come back to Zakopane we will go again for sure. The price was very good for a soup, pork chop, sausages and 2 drinks we payed 100zl. Perfect restaurant to recover from hiking.

Czarny Staw, also known as Black Pond, offers a unique dining experience that feels like stepping into a cave inhabited by a Polish dwarf straight out of Tolkien's world. The hospitality is abundant, with generous servings of roasted meats and traditional vegetarian dishes accompanied by regional disco-folk music. Don't be alarmed by the pond's resident piranhas - it's all part of the atmosphere.
Great place to have a meal or drink. Don’t believe google maps reviews with low rating 3.8/5 = fake reviews. I would love to come back here, this place looks great from outside and even better inside. Large menu, high quality meat and delicious beer. Very friendly staff and decent prices! My wife said she had best mutton meal.

We arrived st the restaurant and we noticed that is it quite popular. Lots of people inside already. The chef is grilling meat right at the entrance so you can have a look. Very few restaurants are like that. The waitress told us to chose whatever table we wanted. The atmosphere of the restaurant feels like a chalet, all in wood. The ribs and the chicken salad was good. If you order a main dish you should order a side dish since the main dish is not a combo but just the main meat. I took fries and cabbages. Price is decent too. The service was good and recommend to try.

Gorgeous food, very ethnic interior. Lovely stuff, amazing service. They accept cards and have fantastic local meat. Live music.
Katarzyna J — Google review
Agree with the other reviews here that the potato pancakes were pretty average - drenched in too much oil and not freshly made (you can see a whole stack sitting there, already heated, probably from the morning) so didn’t have the right texture. However, they were only 6 PLN so can’t complain too much 🤷🏻‍♀️

Good was lovely. Great display in the window to draw people in. Good selection of local brew. Try and sit outside by the river if you can, view is great. Service was quite poor. The waiter was slow and did not really want to be there looking after us at all. Only reason for not giving 5 stars.

This was my first visit to Czarny Staw, I was extremely impressed with the food - it was amazing and priced reasonably. Peaceful and less crowded: October meant fewer hikers, giving a more personal, quiet connection with the mountain. Despite the fog, the trail itself was thrilling.

Amazing top! My friend did it for the first time in his life, with a throat infection 😂. The Polish side is tougher than the Slovak side, but we managed from Palenica parking to Rysy and back in 12 hours. Started at 08:00, back at 20:00, about 30 km total. Definitely doable with the right mindset! Amazing picturesque scenery.

Climbed this amazing summit from Poprazke pleso. The hike was moderate and the views were amazing. I did it during weekdays to avoid the crowds. One of the best summits in the high Tatras
Noel Z — Google review
Great hike.the tallest peak in Tatra lives up to the reputation. The steep parts towards the end from polish side are quite exciting, the chain section are lot of fun. It would take around 5 to 6 hrs for the not so seasoned hikers. Shoulder season would be best for quieter hike.
Shweta E — Google review
Amazing hike from Slovakia side, but was a bit more than expected, started from car parking at 5:00 and did not bump into many people. Problem was at around mid day when everyone at the top was pushing each other just to get the selfie on the top with the sign. When starting the hike at the bottom there was gas cans, potatoes, cucumbers and those are for strong climbers who voluntary bring those things up the top, to the restaurant! Respect for them! There was new toilets installed at the top and those smell horrible. Overall hike was good, please bring good gloves, anti slip climbing shoes, and very important a helmet for the last 20mins till the top. You ask why? There are some crazy people who dont fallow the path and climb straight up, push the rocks which fall down on other people! Saw one guy who was doing this and moved a solid car tire size boulder down which almost hit an girl.. Everyone started to shout and warn her and she evaded the rock. But my god.. Someone tried to fallow the guy who did this, but he was lucky as he was far away, he was about to be mauled by some army guys. Stay safe people!

Start from Morskie Oko. 4hr 25’. June 10, after heavy snow a week before. 30 min climb to Czarny Staw, pretty steep, nice rocky step way. From Czarny Staw to Rysy semi difficult, some snow, chains, required good condition. A lot of fun, beautiful views, waterfall. Highest Polish peak, mostly recommended.
Katarzyna — Google review
It’s a great experience, but be prepared as it’s not easy. You’ll need to wear comfortable shoes and bring gloves because there will be a section with chains. It’s not as difficult as it may seem, but it’s important to keep that in mind. The entire route, from the parking lot to Morskie Oko, then to Rysy and back to the parking lot, took almost 8.5 to 9 hours. I also recommend bringing a fleece balaclava and a sun hat.

Największa Papugarnia Egzotyczne Zakopane is the largest parrot house in Zakopane, and even in Malopolska. It's a great place for both kids and adults to relax and interact with beautiful birds. The parrot house is located on Droga do Olcza 11. Visitors can enjoy feeding the parrots, while the staff ensures a pleasant experience for everyone.
My experience was superb. I was there on a rainy Tuesday at the end of September right after the opening. I shared the room with three adult families, then I was alone for 20 minutes, therefore the atmosphere was very calm and I could really enjoy my time there. Some birds are very friendly, some are shy. One of the Ara parrots stole my entire cup of nuts and things, and the others were so disappointed that I had to get a second cup. It was funny. Great experience!

Visitors can interact with the friendly animals and even feed them treats. The zoo also features a playground with a slide and jumping castle for children to enjoy.
I had a truly lovely experience at the zoo today. The cashier was very polite and welcoming, which set a warm tone right from the entrance. Despite the relatively small territory, the variety of animals is truly impressive! What I appreciated most was the peaceful atmosphere and how well the animals seemed to be cared for. There’s also a wonderful opportunity to gently interact with alpacas, a donkey, and rabbits — which was a heartwarming experience. I highly recommend visiting this place, especially for families with children or anyone who longs for a kind and close connection with our animal friends. 🐾

So much fun for kids, animals well kept, clean, although some of them don’t have a place to hide id they don’t want to interact with visitors (like owls). Other thant that, it’s really worth a visit, big children plauground on site. Have in mind, they take only cash!

We visited during winter and it truly is a mini zoo, doesn’t have many animals and it is okay in general terms. It’s worth noting that you can proceed with the payment only with cash. The animals were very cute especially the bunnies inside. My only concern is that I feel like the animals are kind of cramped and not very well kept.

Nestled near the stunning Tatra National Park, Bąkowo Zohylina Wyźnio is a charming rustic restaurant that captures the essence of traditional Polish cuisine. With its spacious wooden chalet design and breathtaking views of the mountains, it’s a favorite among both travelers and locals alike. The menu features classic dishes like pierogi and seasonal delicacies such as rydze mushrooms, alongside herring for those looking to savor authentic flavors.
Visit date: May 27, 2025 My friend did some extensive research and found this place on our way to the next shelter/cabin and to my surprise, this (type) was one of the best restaurants I have ever visited and tried during my 3 visits to Poland. Why surprised? Because it was that good. Either the taste, ambience, the service - everything was to the perfection. I don’t remember how much we spent but each option was out of the world especially the one that is called potato pancakes (actual Polish name and meaning is different but for English people I have to write it). I don’t know when will I be able to visit some place like this again or eat but this was a memorable and special place on a nice day. Wish I could describe using a poem.. :) So, thank you to the local staff who were so welcoming even if we were a little early before the opening hours.

Found this restaurant from a friend's recommendation. If u come in the evenjng or when its dsrk, it might be hard to spot the entrance as we did. And becareful with that low door jamb, watch ur head 😁 The food were okay. The portion and price a bit not proportional but well.... it is what it is. The waiters were very nice and attentive. Not long time to wait for our meals. 1 of waiter that we spot on was funny in highlander's way. The interior was veryyyy interesting.... feel like we were inside the hunter's house back to that time. The Live Music was definitely a plus point! We love it! Hopefully someday we can visit this place again....

This is one of the most atmospheric and pleasant restaurant I've ever been to. The service was incredibly nice and friendly. The food was great as well, I didn't expect that they will bring steak on a literally hot stone, it was really delicious. The atmosphere was lively and cozy both inside and outside of the restaurant. Definitely recommend visiting this place.

Would recommend this place to anyone visiting Zakopane and around. We were welcomed by pleasant staff, ordered starter and soup (top tier), two main courses, we enjoyed every bit. Will definitely come back!

This place is a delight! We came here for dinner at the height of the summer holiday season and the restaurant was buzzing with chatter, really unique live music, good natured waiting staff and the smell of great food. This is a really popular spot, so we had a twenty minute wait before we got a seat. The wait was totally worth it. The interiors of the restaurant are like the scene of a film set - it has a real sense of mountain life. The live music quartet added immensely to the atmosphere and the food was delicious. (There are good vegetarian options as well.) They deserve the full five stars!

Polish food served in good portions. We enjoyed it and the atmosphere. The place is nicely designed. The mulled wine was very tasty!
Sharon A — Google review
Not sure how to assess this place right now. It lost its vibe. We were here last time 3 years ago and it was way better back then. Nowadays it is overpriced, but the worst thing is quality of the food which is disappointing, we had lamb koftas which were dry, french fries tasted awfully, other dishes were disappointing as well. Portions of the food are small, very small. What is good about the place now is the staff. Other than that, food and waiting time makes this place a NO GO.
M Z — Google review
We visited the restaurant during late winter, the food was good, the waiters were friendly, quick and attentive, the inside of the restaurant had very interesting decoration, you truly felt like a highland lodge. Only thing I’d say is worth noting is the fact that it is a bit overpriced, but maybe justified because it’s like that everywhere in Zakopane.

Illusion House in Zakopane is a unique and entertaining destination suitable for both kids and adults. The attraction features 3D images, mirror illusions, optical illusions, and puzzles. Visitors appreciate the helpful English-speaking staff who guide them through the illusions and ensure an enjoyable experience. The museum is located on the first floor of a shopping center and requires visitors to remove their shoes before entering.
Nice place. Worth to visit. Our children were so happy here :-) A lot of perspectives I have never seen before. There were shown many tricks with lights, mirrors, angles, which nicely introduced you to the miracles of this phantastic world of illusions.

The Miejska Galeria Sztuki im. Władysława hrabiego Zamoyskiego is worth a visit if you are in the area, but not necessarily worth traveling to specifically for this gallery. The exhibition is both inspiring and pleasant, however it is quite small. It seems that there are more artworks available for sale than actual masterpieces on display. On the bright side, entrance is free, so you won't feel like you wasted your money.

Worth seeing if you are nearby, but I would say, not especially if you consider travelling only to visit this gallery. Exhibition is inspiring and pleasant but... very small. I am afraid, there is much more works of artists on sale than masterpieces on exhibition. Entrance is for free, so you feel you spent good time and didn’t waste your money. I will return here in the future to see new exhibitions.

(Translated by Google) A very interesting place on the cultural map of Zakopane. The building is located in a side street of the famous Krupówki, so it is easy to see. Unfortunately, I have the impression that this place is a bit forgotten due to the multitude of attractions. I was at the gallery this weekend and explored the gallery myself. You can visit it for free. Inside there is a huge room and a smaller one where works of local artists are presented. The fate of the founder of Zakopane - Władysław Zamoyski - is wonderfully described. I recommend checking it out! (Original) Bardzo ciekawe miejsce na kulturalnej mapie Zakopanego. Game Planet is a vibrant hub of entertainment nestled in Zakopane, where the thrill of gaming comes alive. This lively venue boasts an impressive array of slot machines that would make any gaming enthusiast feel like they've stepped into a scene from an American movie. While many machines focus on clicking and ticket drawing, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own coins since only one out of several change machines was operational during peak times.
Fun little arcade with more than a dozen machines. The machines are rather generous with the tickets and the prizes are cool too. Staff spoke English. Has DDR, bouling arcade and others. The majority of games take 5zl, some take 2zl. There is a machine that exchanges banknotes to coins as well :) We spent 100PLN for 2 people and I think wr has fun for around an hour. Compared to arcades in Germany and Netherlands this one is way more accessible price wise and prize wise.
Mārtiņš B — Google review
The selection of games is limited and a bit excessive. Charging 5zl for one game is too much. I’d prefer to get a card and load it with money instead. I didn’t like this system; it feels outdated. Additionally, the prizes aren’t nice.

Galeria Figur Stalowych, located in Zakopane, is a unique exhibition featuring over 100 steel figures created by hand. The collection includes impressive models of robots, cars, and characters from fairy tales and movies. Some visitors describe the experience as out of this world and praise the visionary artist behind the creations. The gallery has received positive feedback for its helpful and professional staff.
A Must-See Marvel in Zakopane! The Gallery of Steel Figures in Zakopane is truly a one-of-a-kind experience! I have never seen anything like it before—this place is a masterpiece of creativity, craftsmanship, and sustainability. Nestled in the heart of the city, the gallery showcases an incredible collection of sculptures, all handcrafted from recycled scrap metal. The level of detail in each piece is simply astonishing. From iconic characters of fairy tales and sci-fi movies to lifelike figures of politicians, musicians, and animals—every sculpture is a work of art. And the life-sized cars? Absolutely mind-blowing! Knowing that some of these creations take up to 8 months to complete, with thousands of hours of meticulous work, makes them even more impressive. What makes this gallery even more special is the interactive experience. Unlike traditional museums, here you can touch, sit in, and take photos with the sculptures, making it an unforgettable visit for both kids and adults. The craftsmanship, the effort, and the sheer artistic vision behind every figure are beyond words. If you’re in Zakopane, this is an absolute must-visit attraction. Whether you’re an art lover, a fan of pop culture, or simply looking for something extraordinary, the Gallery of Steel Figures will leave you speechless. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and unforgettable experience!

Very cool, interesting place with mind-blowing figures from metal. The best is, that all of this amazing art is interactive - you can climb in, touch etc. all the exponates. It's in shopping center floor -1, so I guess, not many know about this place. We were the only ones there and it was THE BEST!
Agnese E — Google review
This place is just out of this world and the guy who created that art is a visionary. I have not seen anything like that before. There are more than 100 of steel figures in Zakopane, the rest can be found in Warsaw, Prague and Pruszkow. Totally worth spending the money to see this exhibition. Satisfaction guaranteed. The staff at the gallery also deserve the credit. Both helpful and professional. The best part is that you can actually touch everything, take pictures inside the cars, sit on the iron throne, etc. Awesome!
