It is a stunning destination for nature lovers and hikers. the park offers breathtaking views and well-maintained trails for all skill levels. It’s a peaceful retreat with opportunities for wildlife spotting. Its a memorable outdoor experience.

Agree with other reviews, that place is truly beautiful and accessible, even though it's around 8km one way to Morske Oko. However, parking is expensive and toilets are not free( except honey buckets) , so make sure to bring some cash. It was a little bit chilly at the top( at the beginning of May), bring some warm clothes with you and grab some snacks.
Iryna — Google review
Mountains have breathtaking views. Cable car was a less than 15 minutes to the top. Definitely worth the time and hike. Dress accordingly and wear proper shoes. Highly recommend visiting on a clear sunny day. Note: they charge for bathrooms, however the bathrooms near the ticket booths are free of charge.

A breathtaking experience! Tatra National Park is a paradise for nature lovers and hikers. The mountains, forests, and streams create stunning scenery at every turn. Trails are well-marked and range from easy walks to challenging hikes, so there's something for everyone.

Perfect park, in all seasons with different types of path
LaVon — Google review
I recently visited Morskie Oko. It is definitely breathtaking. However, PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THE HORSE CARRIAGES! The horses are treated poorly and looked very overworked, pulling asses of 10-15 people up and down the hill. It really ruined my hike seeing horses being mistreated in such a cruel way and sent up and down the hill while it’s so hot outside. I saw horses with tongues hanging out of their mouths while carrying the carriage, really horrible. While I saw that they were fed I did not see that they had any water given in this heat. Honestly, it’s 2025, if you want to see the mountains , you need to be prepared to hike for the views. I also saw vehicles for disabled people. So there is no excuse to this cruelty. Last year, a horse collapsed right there while carrying people up the hill. Many have died after few months of being in this service or sent to slaughterhouses. They don’t have a long lifespan due to them being constantly overworked and mistreated. Please do not promote such a horrible treatment towards animals, who definitely deserve better than this.

Very beautiful and must visit street in Zakopane. It had cafés as usual and some fancy art and jewellery shop. There is a carriage ride as well (though super expensive). Nice vibe in the evening with tourists

This is a must visit street. It's the main street in Zakopane and its center. Lots of shops, coffee shops, and restaurants. There are many Halal food and Western food. There is only McDonald's as a fast food restaurant. Youust try the ice-cream many shops with many flavors. Prices are reasonable, and the kids love the gifts of shops. You must visit this street. Mountains
Gubałówka is a majestic mountain in the Polish Tatras, offering hiking trails and a cable car to the top, providing panoramic views of the surrounding area. Visitors can take a cable railway to Gubałówka for a more relaxed experience and explore one of the most popular spots in the region. The mountain features regional stalls with colorful souvenirs reflecting the nature and atmosphere of the Polish Tatra Mountains.
A stunning view with all the activities you would need travelling with your family. Beware of mountain weather tho, that changes every 5 min
Oleg V — Google review
It's a pretty mountain range but we had to do a long day trip to see it. Personally, I didn't think it was worth it. The top of the hill has a number of repetitive kiosks of food and souvenirs but it all felt so touristy and commercial. I would not recommend this visit. You do need tickets for the funicular to go up although we saw people hiking - maybe that would've been a more fun activity.
Wadih A — Google review
When you’re in Zakopane, it’s worth visiting at least once. Not sure if I’d go a second time :) After taking the funicular and heading to the right, the area was much calmer — we liked that part. There were walking trails continuing from there, but since we didn’t have much time, we couldn’t explore and don’t know exactly where they lead. We also tried oscypek on that side and it was delicious. The area leading to the church, on the other hand, was extremely crowded, so we didn’t spend much time there before heading back.
Esra G — Google review
Gubałówka in Zakopane offers stunning views of the Tatra Mountains and town. Funicular ride is easy and scenic. Some people may sell tickets outside at higher prices, but buying at the ticket window, machine, or online is safer and saves time. Great for photos, relaxing, and enjoying the mountain air!
Manan S — Google review
“Magnificent views overlooking Zakopane. I walked all the way to the top. It took me 35 minutes. The path was very steep and tough, but it was worth it to connect with nature for a while.”
Aym M — Google review
Gubałówka was a great experience, even with the rain! Walking in the mountains was refreshing, and the views were beautiful. There are plenty of shops to eat and buy souvenirs. It’s also very family-friendly with lots of fun activities for kids.
Haitham A — Google review
🌄✨ Gubałówka: Where the Sky Meets the Soul ✨🌄 Standing above Zakopane, cradled by the gentle slopes of Gubałówka, where the wind carries whispers of mountain legends and the horizon stretches like a painted dream. At 1,129 meters above sea level, this beloved peak offers more than just a view—it offers a feeling. A hush. A moment suspended in time. The funicular ride itself felt like a passage into another world—glass-roofed, gliding upward as the rooftops of Zakopane fell away and the majestic Tatras rose to greet me. At the summit, wooden stalls brimmed with local crafts, the scent of oscypek and smoked meats danced in the air, and laughter echoed from cozy cafés tucked into the hillside. But it was the panorama that stole my breath: layers of misty peaks, golden light spilling over valleys, and the quiet awe of nature’s grandeur. Gubałówka isn’t just a destination—it’s a reminder to pause, to breathe, to feel. 📸 If you’ve ever been, you know. And if you haven’t—put it on your list. Your heart will thank you.

The Tatra Museum

Museums
The Tatra Museum, located in Zakopane, is a charming 19th-century cultural institution that offers a wealth of knowledge about the Tatra Mountains and Podhale region. With 11 branches, it provides an immersive experience into the artistic creation and cultural heritage of the area. Visitors can explore ethnological information, art, natural history exhibits, and traditional highlander cottages showcasing everyday utensils and handicrafts.
I highly recommend to visit this museum in the beginning of your trip to Zakopane! It's the perfect introduction to Tatra region culture and wildlife. We really enjoyed the whole experience and learned a lot. Staff was very friendly and helpful :)
Aleksandra S — Google review
As I read from another comment, I strongly recommend to visit the Tatra Museum before you do anything else in Zakopane. A brief overview of the lives and the history of Podhale region. Get an idea of why this place is so much different from other places in Poland.
Pingyuan C — Google review
This museum turned out to be a real gem — much more interesting than we expected. It is one of the oldest regional museums in Poland, founded in 1888 to showcase the culture and art of the Podhale region. The exhibitions are spread over several floors: the ground floor features a historical and ethnographic section, the first floor is dedicated to natural history, the second floor hosts temporary exhibitions, and the third is reserved for staff. The displays are rich and thoughtfully arranged, with many interactive elements that bring the experience to life. One of the highlights is the reconstruction of a traditional highlander house interior — visitors can listen (in Polish or English) to stories about the layout, furnishings, customs, and everyday life in the “white” and “black” rooms. The narration, accompanied by traditional music, helps vividly imagine what life was really like in such a home. The natural history section is equally engaging, offering insight into the geology, flora, and fauna of the Tatra Mountains. While we’re usually not fans of stuffed animals, the taxidermy here is of high quality and gives a close-up look at the region’s wildlife — including bears, wolves, lynx, and birds of prey. Overall, this is a very well-curated museum and definitely worth a visit, whether you're interested in regional culture or simply looking for a deeper understanding of the Tatra region.
Anna K — Google review
We decided to visit it to understand a bit about the Tatra mountains. It was a pleasant surprise. 1. They have cloak rooms, and lockers that helped us to store our rainwear. 2. The audio guides(purchased separately/not included in ticket) helped us immensely. 3. 99% artifacts had English translation. 4. They have arranged the artifacts on two floors. First floor showcases history of Zakopane, the second floor showcases Tatra mountains. 5. The staff was polite and efficient. While we liked the Zakopane history section, we loved the Tatra exhibition. The stones are arranged in chronological order and gives a glimpse of how the geology evolved. The two videos on large screens are helpful in case you don't have audio guides. The best part was juxtaposition of animals(exhibits) and leaves in ascending order of altitude. Geology enthusiasts can spend an entire day here, while noobs like me can easily invest 3h.
Omkar J — Google review
Bit boring like a museum should be, but informative. Up stairs is a nice little coffee place.

Great details about Zakopane town and Tatra national park. Loved the exhibition on geology and wildlife in the tatra national park. Went on Thursday, Oct 9th and the entry was free!

Kasprowy Wierch is a 1,987-meter mountain in Poland, known for its accessibility via cable car and as a popular destination for skiing and hiking. The area offers good conditions for downhill skiing from November to early spring on the upper mountainside of Kasprowy Wierch peak, with artificial ski slopes closer to the town open from December through March.
The up-down ticket is 149 zloty, giving you 1 hour and 40 minutes at the top. It’s a bit more expensive, but if you want to spend more time up there, you can buy your return ticket once you’ve gone up. I remember seeing a lower price before, so I guess it’s gone up during the busy season. It was a great experience, and the views were amazing.
Esra G — Google review
Great mountain with a moderate hike up from the cable car ground station. Stunning views and lots of routes to other mountains are available.
ShineZ — Google review
Easy Gondola ride up to the mountain top. Beautiful views and small trails to walk to various view points on the mountain. Public parking is a long walk from the gondola so be warned!
Jeff E — Google review
What a view you get from the top. We were very blessed with sunny weather, so the visit was incredible. The ride up there was really nice, with beautiful scenery all around you. Once on top, you can just relax, have some food, visit the observatory located on a small hill just above the main building. Gift shop is available as well. Hiking routes are also available from all the directions. Wintertime, skiing slope is here for use as well with separate cable lift. The views of Slovak and Polish Tatras were breathtaking. This is a must place to visit once in Polish Tatras for sure.
Jarmila B — Google review
We bought tickets the night before and had Bolt pick us up from our Airbnb so getting there was easy. I admire all of the dedicated hikers but we were short on time and focused on getting to the top to soak in the views. It’s stunning and worth it. If we didn’t go, we would’ve regretted it. We had 8:00 am admission tickets for Thursday morning mid September. Absolutely perfect time to go! From NE OH
Kim S — Google review
Breathtaking views.. 🚠We were too lazy to climb, so we took cable car😁 the ride was very smoof, with some stories about Tatrai mountain (in polish and English language). 🍃Up there is windy, so you better have something warm to wear. 🎫Bye tickets before, so you don't have to stay in boring long line.
Carmen — Google review
I highly recommend buying tickets online in advance, especially on clear days. We took a chance, stood in line (1.5 hours!), and ended up running out of tickets. The next day, we bought tickets in advance, but the weather turned bad, and everything was foggy up there. That was an adventure, too, but we only saw the mountain views up to a certain height.

Giewont, a mountain massif in Tatra National Park, is a favorite among hikers with its three peaks and well-marked trails. The area also boasts popular attractions such as Koscieliska Valley, Strazyska Valley, Chocholowska Valley, and the stunning Morskie Oko lake. Adventurous visitors can tackle challenging trails leading to famous Tatra peaks like Giewont and Rysy.
This is great hike with options of route ranging from easy to moderate. The views are great when there is clear weather. Choose to visit in off season and not a sunny day of you want to avoid crowds. The highest part has a few chains to suppor, which are fun to use.
Shweta E — Google review
Great Trek. The trail is hard 3h up and 3h down. At the summit there's a que to climb up and down which takes extra 2 to 3 hours. Plan your time accordingly. GL hf
Peter — Google review
Nice peak with big crucifix and 360 degree view. We have started the hike from Mala Laka parking (price 30 PLN or 20 PLN for whole day depending on which parking lot you choose). Ascend takes about 3 hours. It's not very difficult and it's nice. There are chains below the peak but nothing very difficult. Whole hiking path is very well marked. We choose yellow path for descend and it was a mistake. The path is terrible with a lot of gravel, loose stones and huge slippery boulders (when wet). Never again. But whole hike is great and you are surrounded by beautiful nature.
Vladimír J — Google review
I hiked to Giewont at the beginning of April. There was still a lot of snow on the ascent from Kuźnice, and I’m glad I didn’t descend on that same side, as it would have been quite difficult. The top of the mountain is easy to reach; climbing up through the chains wasn’t difficult. I descended on the west side of the mountain, and it was much better. There was barely any snow, and the stone stairs looked well maintained. I definitely recommend having microspikes with you when there is still snow above 1500m. Trekking poles can also be helpful. Beware of the avalanches. The view from the top is totally worth any difficulties!
Anna D — Google review
Definitely worth to visit, closer to top views are breathtaking. Also cool that you can continue to different direction and get even more tops visited. However, consider crowds. At Wednesday, around 13.00 it was very long queue to the top in the last section. Instead of 20 minutes it would take at least 2 h. So be the early bird and it will be okay

We has daily free access included in our accommodation. It was great! Clean, not too crowded, even earlier when families were there. The 2 big slides were amazing, there was ample room in the bubbles outdoors and indoors. The locker system is genius and very easy to use. The views of the mountains are beautiful. Very easy to spend 2 hours here unwinding. The staff were very patient and friendly, despite our terrible Polish!

A great way to spend a cold afternoon with our two teenage boys while visiting Zakopane. The outdoor pools we very clean and really warm and nice to relax in and look at the mountains. Good value for a couple of hours and yiu can hire towels too. The slides were good fun for the boys.

The Aqua Park ticket price Happy Hour is very correct coz more than 3h when you don't have childrens you cannot stay coz very boring. The pools inside still cold and outside is just perfect 🥰 The sauna areea is really not intersting , and the smell is not confortable. The parking capacitty is very small, and you need to pay 1zloty for each .

Small space with a lot of activities. Issue is with depth of pools (130cm deap), and only one place for babies. Probably would address issue with packing. Not enough space. In general our family of 4 was happy with unlimited time entry for 68eur

Very nice and clean aquapark witk many possibilities how to spend the relax time. Something for kids and also for adults like saunas or outside pool with termal water. During our visiting the termy was full but not so extremely. But the stuff mainly in bistro was not so ready for such many people. The same was with the number of sun beds. It's dimensioned for few persons. And this is why "only" four stars. The termy is not ready for more people.

the park itself is nice, clean water, a lot if different pools to choose from, slides are fun too. But the food is regular market food just heated up in a microwave and the saunas open at 14 and are 18+ which kinda ruined the mood

The Muzeum Oscypka is a heritage center that features traditional crafts and displays showcasing the cheesemaking techniques of the highland village. Visitors can learn about the history of oscypek and witness a demonstration of how it's made in various animal or symbol shapes after a brief theoretical introductory session, which unfortunately is only available in Polish. The guides are known for their engaging and humorous presentations, but non-Polish speakers may need translation assistance.
Very good experience. Polish language only as it's a lot of information which are passed in a nice and comprehensive way.

Must Visit! Amazing place. Tours are in Polish - no english translation unfortunately. Cheap tickets. Very friendly staff. Very informative. You get to mould your own oscypek at the end. Just an FYI: this isn’t a museum as such… you don’t walk around looking at stuff. Definitely recommend 👍🏻 Thank you to the guy at reception for shrink wrapping our oscypek for our flight ✈️ They run out oscypek t-shirts 😭 so we might have to come back when we’re in Zakopane again.

Interesting experience, the main speaker is native to the region and speaks with local accent. Overall it was interesting to get to know local history and to taste cheese
Lu4nik — Google review
Not recommended if you don't want to risk catching something because they pack all people in a single crowded room that has no hangers for coats(you leave them on the bench) and no ventilation(all the windows are closed). Pretty hot inside and these conditions are hard to bear in winter clothes. The overall show is quite long because every child is trying to mix cheese and pose for pictures. The story they tell about cheese is quite interesting so if it wasn't for conditions it could be a five star feedback.
Andrey G — Google review
Polite but Very disappointing. According to front desk person. One must buy ticket two days ahead online. No cash at the door, not even for up price. If you don't not speak polish or highland, you are turned away....even if you understand... even if you are willing to wait. Tip: Do not be spontaneous. You must plan ahead. You must order online. They can not know if you do not speak Polish. It would have been a great way to learn about the area and use the 2 hours I unexpectedly had time for.

Interesting place to visit if you're interested in Poland's history of cheese making and how the process occurs. The tour is for polish speaking visitors but a lovely staff member translated the talk in English to help us understand. It is a bit long, around 1.5 hours, but I had a good experience, especially molding our own cheese.

We came here last year and just had to return, as soon as we arrived, this year. A relaxed and mellow atmosphere, with warm, professional service. Traditional food served in a modern way and cooked to perfection. The mushroom sauce had amazing depth of flavour, I could have had that as a starter on its own! Slightly high prices than some local restaurants but well worth it for the extra quality, selection and service.

It was our very first day studying in Poland and we wanted to try traditional polish food and we gave to say we haven’t disappointed at all. Here you will find the best of Zakopane's traditions. Delicious dishes, each element of the restaurant's decor is an exquisite work of art, polish traditional live music melted our hearts and we are delighted for such a warm welcome to this country. The confectionery, located on the ground floor, offers a wide selection of delicious pastries.

Polish restaurant
Restauracja Grand Kasprowy is a renowned dining spot in Zakopane, offering aromatic dishes cooked in a wood-fired oven, aged steaks, and regional lamb specialties. The restaurant boasts a stunning panoramic view of the Tatras. Additionally, visitors can savor beverages and snacks at the Panorama Lobby Bar. Guests have praised the cream of red pine as an exceptional dish, along with other highlights such as venison carpaccio and lamb shank.
Came all over from New Zealand to taste the best variations of the local cuisine and it was definitely highlight of my stay in Zakopane. Your lamb chops easily outclass their NZ counterparts and that’s probably best compliment from a Kiwi. Kudos to the chefs and attentive staff (highly recommend Maria for the Christmas Bonus from the management). Many thanks and wish you all the best.

Unfortunately, this was a disappointing experience. The waiters were extremely unfriendly, and their looks made us feel very uncomfortable. The service was poor and slow, with no real attention to customers. The only good thing about this place is the outdoor seating area, which is quite nice. I do not recommend this restaurant — the unpleasant atmosphere will just make you feel frustrated and irritated. Very bad experience. The waitress was rude and disrespectful. While it was raining and we were sitting outside, she came out and closed the umbrella over us — right in the middle of the rain — and said, in a very impolite way, that “the umbrella is only for the sun.” Her behavior was completely unacceptable, with no respect for customers. I do not recommend this place at all

Great service, well crafted menu, everything was very tasty and big plus for kids menu and entertainment! Personal recommendation: try out their dumplings! For restaurant / hotel managers: please ensure you have option for your service team to receive tips by card( for now I was told it’s impossible). There are tones of options nowadays (special apps, blick, QR codes, revolut and so on).

Another one of highlights on the food scene in Zakopane — and you don’t get a lot of these here. Came here twice and frankly speaking I wish I had more time to come again, but I’ll visit next time (hopefully with some new additions on the menu!). The cream of red pine is something that stands out above all other dishes but I gotta say the venison carpaccio and lamb shank has everything to it as well. I also tried borscht (beet) soup which was amazingly clear in flavour. The lamb dumplings are extremely filling — careful with your order :) the service the first time was much nicer than the second time — it felt like hotel guests are treated with much more care than locals. And yet the management should remember that the locals are the ones who will come back to eat here when the season is low and the guests show up just once. Just some food for thought. Regardless, real pleasure to eat at this place because the views cannot be compared to anything else.

Beautiful view from this restaurant, friendly service, tasty food. Prices are a little bit high, but it’s okay for a hotel restaurant. I personally recommend salmon, Zurek soup and potato purée with bacon.

Guests praise the well-prepared pasta and steak as well as the innovative menu offerings.
Quality of the food surprised us and Wowed us so much that we went back for a 2nd dinner. Every dish was a beautiful piece of art followed with incredible flavour in every mouthful. We have 2 young children and they gave colouring pencils on arrival & were very accommodating. My children absolutely loved the pasta, noodle soup & pizza. As a table of 7 we were able to taste a huge variety of the menu and all the desserts. I couldn't rate the food more highly from our experience. Thank you for such a memorable few dinners

The pizza, and the chicken Alfredo were soooo delicious, the waitress was very nice and attentive, and it was nice to see the chef prepare the pizza and pasta (both were handmade) with care and with very fresh ingredients. We would highly recommend if you’re ever in Zakopane.

I’ll admit it publicly: came here two days in a row because this was worth committing such sin if I can even say so. Definitely a new contender in the city to take the crown of the best pizza in the area. Grabbed the ‘trattoria parmigiana’ both days — perfectly baked and perfectly kneaded. Very thin, which is what I like. It’s a small room but you get to see the chefs behind the glass wall and can even chat with them! Truly recommended!

This is our favorite meal in Zakopane over 4 days. We got zurek which was really good. It's smoothly sour but complex. We also got a pork knuckle to share which was humongous. Meat is falling-off-the-bone tender and well seasoned. I'd highly recommend. Especially in the heart of a town that feels like wherever you go is another tourist trap, this place is truly worth it.

This charming tavern boasts a cozy, wood-paneled interior that evokes the warmth of a traditional mountain lodge, complete with festive decor and lively folk music playing in the background. With two levels to explore, guests can enjoy their meals surrounded by rustic charm.
Great place, very traditionally fancy. I don't know if this is what local traditional will look like, but the interior is wooden and has an awesome vibe. The food is very good. The taste is quite fresh. the quality of meat my husband had was top-notch. Vegetarian options were pretty good as well. This place is in middle of the happening high street but food is quite reasonable. All in all a good place.

Offers truly tasty, authentic Polish food in a charming setting. However, the live band's breaks were longer than their sets, leading to a somewhat quiet and uneven atmosphere. Worth it for the food, but be prepared for musical pauses.

This hobby restaurant is located halfway down the tourist Street in Zakopane. The atmosphere is very welcoming and the restaurant is decorated in old Polish style. They even have old Polish folk music playing in the background. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, the food is good and the portions are big. I made the mistake of ordering the baked potato pancake with mushroom sauce. I didn’t really like it, and I returned it. It was my fault. I misread the menu. The duck pierogi, the beef burger, and the chicken soup were excellent. If we had more time, we would certainly return. I recommend this restaurant.

Decided to go here off a recommendation by our tour guide. The restaurant was definitely worth it. The oven roasted trout was great, however it is not deboned, and needed a little more salt. The potato I got was pretty big and came with a creamy rich sour cream. The salad was more of a coleslaw with shredded carrots and some cucumber. The restaurant was worth it, and was great value for myself and my wife.

The restaurant was very atmospheric and had the option of parking behind the building. The decor was charming and with traditional live music it created an atmosphere. Unfortunately, the staff did not take the initiative and did not try to improve the service of guests or customers waiting for a table. The meals were very tasty and nicely served. Zakopane has a large gastronomic base so next time I will visit another restaurant.

To those travellers who would like to experience polish, you SHOULD AVOID this restaurant. It would disappoint you for sure. If you can’t go there earlier enough to get an indoor seat, just DONT choose this restaurant!!! We waited in a long queue and no body noticed us cause of course the waiters are busy! Until they showed us the outdoor seat it were already 10minute wait. Sitting outside meant you would get MANY second hand smoke. What does it mean? The indoor customers finished their food and got plenty of time coming out smoking in front of you! I felt so annoyed, I never smoke and I had asthma!!! The restaurant won’t limit diner time, and those sitting inside would just occupy their table forever. The outside people left like 3 tables gone but none from inside gone. And we waited for 30 mins for our cheese cake to come because they don’t bother to serve outside customer. No one care about you. The food were not worth 4.9 points for SURE. The outside environment was freezing and they served all plates at once. All of them would get cold in 5mins before you are able to finish.

Bąkowa Zohylina Niźnio is one of the best places in Zakopane to experience traditional highlander cuisine. Beautifully located just off the lower part of Krupówki, the restaurant sits in a charming wooden building with cozy interiors and staff dressed in regional outfits — creating a warm and authentic atmosphere. The menu is extensive and full of regional specialties. A word of advice: portions are huge, so it’s best to order modestly at first — everything we tried could easily feed two people. We visited twice because the first experience left such a strong impression. During our first visit, we had kwaśnica served in a small cauldron over a candle (a great touch), kaszanka with sautéed cabbage, and roasted mutton with mint sauce plus extra roasted potatoes and a bryndza cheese salad — all fresh, flavorful, and served in enormous portions. The zsiadłe mleko was a great local drink and also helped with digestion. On our second visit, we tried grule (potatoes with pork cracklings) and a rich, intensely garlicky soup with croutons and a generous helping of cheese — one of the best garlic soups we've had. The service was quick and professional despite how busy it was. It’s a very popular spot, so expect a wait during peak hours — but it’s absolutely worth it. This restaurant is a true culinary highlight of Zakopane.

Dined here 2 nights straight because the food is excellent and very reasonably priced. Restaurant has live musicians and cozy atmosphere. On the first night, we had to wait for almost 30 mins to get a table even though we were the 2nd couple in the queue. The staff did not come out to physically acknowledge you are waiting until there is a table cleared and available. But there is a clear sign for guests to wait. We were seated next to the toilet, not exactly nice but okay since it is a popular place. Garlic soup, mukled wine, grilled salmon and chicken cutlet (they called it grilled) were excellent. On the second night, we went earlier at just after 5pm. We got a table immediately and unfortunately, next to the toilet again with rather busy traffic. Ribs was excellent. It is not melt in your mouth kind. Lightly seasoned with no sauces. Pork cutlet with cheese was fine if rather heavy.

Not sure if it was the post–Morskie Oko hike hunger talking, or if this place really is that good — but it was honestly one of the best meals I’ve ever had. We had traditional Polish dishes: Żurek soup (hope I’m spelling that right), pork ribs, and homemade-style fried potatoes. Also chicken with amazing sauce on it. Simply amazing. I also loved the outdoor vibe — cozy and authentic. People say it’s even more charming indoors during the winter, and I really hope to come back and experience that too. Huge thanks to the staff for the warm and friendly service. Definitely go — you won’t regret it!

I've been to Karczma Góralska twice now, and honestly, it is an absolute MUST-VISIT in Zakopane! 🏔️🇵🇱 The entire experience—food, service, and atmosphere—is pure magic. ✨ The atmosphere is instantly transporting; the lively Góral folk songs 🎶 create such a joyous, authentic vibe. The service is fantastic—every member of the staff serves you with a genuine smile 😊 and speaks excellent English, which is super helpful! Plus, having the menu in both Polish and English is a huge bonus. 📖👍 Now, the food! Everything I tried was seriously delicious and satisfying. The deeply flavorful garlic soup with smoked bacon 🥓 and the perfectly cooked cabbage and mushroom pierogi 🥟 with crispy bacon bits were amazing starters. But the showstopper was the massive pork knuckle in beer marinade 🍖 served with fantastic fried cabbage and all the fixings. 🤤 To drink, both the warming non-alcoholic Winter tea 🫖 and the potent Herbata Góralska (with "prąd"!) are incredible must-tries! 🔥 I can't wait to go back again! 🤩🥳😋👍🏼🌟💫👏🏼💯❤️ #KarczmaGoralska #ZakopaneEats #GoralFood #PolishCuisine #Śliwowica #HighlanderLife #Gubałówka #FoodieHeaven #TatraMountains #HerbataGoralska

Short review: Best food I have ever tasted! Lovely atmosphere True Polish dishes, but kids can also eat well. Little corner for kids to play, nothing dangerous I noticed. Live music, adjusted to the people's wishes! You can eat cheap, or expensive, and you'll be full either way! There is no tip included in the bill, you can tip the staff by giving them cash, as much as you want for the service. The menu is translated in 3 languages, also in hungarian and it is avilable via QR codes. The menus are not translated poorly they are very accurate. Parking is not far away, aprox. 2 minutes away (400 m) through Fashion street, there is a large parking lot, with parking fee of 7 zł/hour on weekdays 'til 9 PM. For disabled people this restaurant is packed with seats on the ground floor, but no toilet. Toilet is only available upstairs. The toilets are clean, and well equipped. The mulled beer, and garlic soups are the top favorite, a must try! Also the pancakes are very very delicious! Basically everything is delish. Longer review: I've been to this restaurant 7 years ago, and remembered that the soups are amazing. I forgot the name of the place, and how it looked like, so we just wandered around the street, and stumbled upon this restaurant with great atmosphere inside. Just after we sat down, my sister sent me the picture from 7 years ago. It was the exact same restaurant!! So not only I remembered, but accidentally fell in love with the place twice🥰🥰🥰 And just as I remembered, the Garlic Soup is the best soup in the whole world. It was served with cheese toast, and plenty of bacons inside the soup, very delicious! The food was still hot, and we didn't wait for the food, only about 15 minutes, each time we ate there. Because yes, we ate there 3 times, everyday, throughout our stay in Zakopane. Our waitress Karolina and waiter Jurek was the best! They were always smiley, and fulfilled any request we had. We will be regulars that is for sure!

Mała Szwajcaria is a charming restaurant that offers Swiss-inspired specialties in a cozy and inviting setting. Despite its name, it's not your typical Polish highlander eatery. Instead, the restaurant offers a unique blend of French, Italian, and German cuisine with a focus on Swiss delicacies like cheese fondue and raclette. The ambiance is enhanced by gentle sounds of international acoustic music, creating a relaxing atmosphere to savor the menu full of fresh ingredients.
Today, I visited this place to eat breakfast. I ordered breakfast SET 1. What are scrumble eggs on bacon, and it was marvellous. Also, I ordered fresh squished orange juice that was really nice and fresh. But the best was a tea. That is a tea with magic, I would say, make like tea with jam plus some herbs and sliced orange and lemon mmmmmm you just have to try it.

Great atmosphere, really tasty food and a heavenly desert (as well as the home-made tea which, unfortunately, I did not take a picture of). Poland greets you with the portions that are sometimes too big even for a larger person, yet if you want something not as over the top, beautifully made and in a sane person's portion(s) - this is the place for you!!

Please note that I am an American tourist. The menus are in both Polish and English but not everyone that works there speaks English. Beautiful patio to have your meal outside. Kind and swift service. Very long menu with variety of dishes. Some are delicious. I’ve been tempted to this place by reviews mentioning the wide selection of vegetarian dishes. I would recommend chłodnik and knedle z grzybami i kapustą, these dishes were absolutely delicious. Regarding salads I’d pass on Sałatka Wędrowca: too much of Iceberg salad and onion, very little of other ingredients. Pierogi ruskie were OK, but a bit plain.

Lovely restaurant, you can really see that it’s kinda popular because it was kinda a full house. I had the Pasterskie raclette. When asking if it was enough as a meal I got the honest answer that it’s really enough and also fat/greasy and she was right. But it tasted good and was nice to try something new
Channa M — Google review
I tried two kinds of their raclette: rubby (with sauer cabbage) and shepherd's one (with potato grated and deep fried). The former was ok-ish, though there could be more cheese. The latter was not edible. If they simply give boiled (or baked) potatoes and more cheese, that would be much better

A luxurious restaurant with delicious and varied dishes and reasonable prices for the location and a very beautiful view. Came here with friends and family for dinner and enjoyed the food and atmosphere of the restaurant. The restaurant primarily serves Italian food with a wide variety of pizza, pastas and drink selections. We had a big party of around 8 people and were seated right away with no wait. The inside ambiance of the place is very nice and cozy and the waiters were very kind and eagerly answered any questions we had about the menu. Although we speak Polish, we did hear they also spoke English well for any tourists who came by and had questions. The food was tasty and handed out quickly. Our table had a mix of pizzas, bruschettas, chicken/meat plates, pastas and soup, so one could say we tried a little bit of everything. We were very satisfied with the food quality and the portions were just enough for one person. The restaurant is also really close to the main street so it's a perfect place to stop by and eat before going to visit the shops nearby.

This place was recommended to us by fellow travelers we met in Zakopane, and we’re glad we followed their tip. We visited Cristina for a late lunch / early dinner around 3:00 PM – between meal times – so the restaurant wasn’t busy. It was an exceptionally hot day, and although Cristina has a lovely outdoor seating area, we preferred to sit inside, where it was cooler. Our goal was pizza – that’s what others had praised most – so we ordered two. The pizzas were generously topped, with high-quality ingredients including some more expensive ones like artichokes. While the flavors were excellent and the toppings rich, the base was unfortunately a bit underbaked in the center, likely due to the weight of the ingredients. It made the pizza hard to eat in a typical Italian way – by hand – as the middle was quite soft. The restaurant itself is spacious and tastefully decorated in a modern style. Service was very professional, attentive, and smooth. Cristina definitely feels like a high-end place, especially by Zakopane standards. It’s a restaurant worth recommending, and if we return to Zakopane, we’d love to come back and try something other than pizza next time.

The food was absolutely delicious. The flavors were perfectly combined, and the staff was friendly. We started with the stracciatella from the autumn menu, followed by several different seafood dishes.

We ordered a Calzone pizza and the taste was very authentic. Highly recommend to people wanting to try Italian food in Zakopane. The service was fast and the price was reasonable.

John Paul II International Airport Kraków-Balice is conveniently connected to the city center by an express train link, with departures every 30 minutes. The train ride takes 20 minutes to reach Krakow Glowny station, while buses are available between train departures. It's advisable to check the arrival time of your flight to decide on the most convenient option. The airport offers a comfortable and family-friendly environment, with special zones for kids that are both entertaining and educational.
I flew out of Krakow recently and I was feeling a bit nausious. They were very kind and understanding, as I know them to be there making it a much more pleasant experience for me. It's a relatively clean airport and all staff are kind and helpful. It's a cool airport and I personally think they deal well with passengers and luggage and everything in-between

Kraków Airport is modern and fairly well-organized. Security and boarding went smoothly, and the staff were helpful. The terminal is clean with a few nice places to eat or grab a coffee. Not a huge airport, but efficient for its size. Public transport to the city is convenient. Overall, a pleasant experience 👌

Overall experience is not really good at all. From the outside the airport looks big and visually attractive Inside is an absolute mayhem. Krakow being one of the top tourist destination. The crowds/tourists are really in thousands. The facilities at the airport is appalling. Toilet facilities are bad. No seats to sit with a few granite stone benches around at the check in area and a few seats around. In fact there are more seating areas in the parks and surrounding woods in Krakow. Upstairs, before boarding the flight, there is shortage of seats for waiting even there for travellers. The lighting overall at this airport is very poor, quite dull and gloomy. Some staff are ok when you deal with them where as others can get upset with you easily for no apparent reason. Considering this is an international airport and a favourite destination for visitors this airport needs a lot of improvement.

Navigating through the Krakow airport is chaotic and truly tests your anxiety levels! There is no clear directions and they only start the check in process couple hours prior to the flight. Then you come to find out they are checking in for 3/4 other flights from the same check in counters. This makes the lines and wait times super long and you never know if you will make it to your flight in time. The next test comes when you have to make it through the immigration lines! Though this line kept moving, every one seemed to be in a panic state! Not a good experience at all overall!!!

Unbelievable experience at Krakow Airport I’ve been traveling with the same portable battery charger across 52 countries in total, including 30 in the past 5 years, and I’ve flown with Ryanair countless times without any issues. Just two days ago, I flew from Athens to Krakow with this very charger, and it passed security without a problem. But today, at Krakow Airport, I was told I had to throw it away just to get through security. And here’s the kicker—the charger is more expensive than the flight itself! I mean… wow! It’s incredible how the rules can vary so dramatically between airports. Travelers, beware: what works everywhere else may not work here. Date : 22 OCTOBER 2025 12:10 pm Check in 26 desk

This is a Big airport on ground level we have arrive hall with drop in bag area , level 1 is security check and gates , we have a Fun area if u are travelling with kids ( snooker, ping pong ) also before gate u can find a food court area . After passing security check gates there is few duty free stores alcohol and cigarettes perfume etz . Parking in the airport free for 10min if u use kissing fly gates . Easy access to city as per small train , bus u can purches a travel ticket on ground floor " Miejska Karta " box or multiple Taxi located outside terminal . hotel Hilton located directly on Airport ground 2 min walk .

The security check is extremely fast and painless but the waiting area can be improved drastically as there isn’t enough seating or lounge area and it gets crowded quickly. I suggest coming closer to your flight time (1.5-2 instead of 3 hr) to maximize your time.

It’s a very nice airport. Departure gates are packed, not enough waiting area. My complaint is with the taxis when arriving late in the evening. I could not get a Bolt to pick me up. They repeatedly accepted my ride request, then canceled after a couple minutes. I was forced to take an airport taxi who wouldn’t or didn’t have or didn’t use a meter. Charged me zł129. My taxi ride to the airport to depart was only zł56 in rush hour traffic with a tip. Be forewarned about the taxis. Ran into the same problem in old Town late in the evening. Wanted zł100 to go 3.3 Km. Bolt only cost me zł35 with tip.
