Booked this hotel with my family- we were in 4 rooms which were all really modern, clean and comfortable. Really enjoyed the laid back atmosphere. Rooms were quite warm but they had fans to help manage this. We ate in the restaurant both nights where they catered for myself being gluten free and were totally accommodating of us bringing a double buggy in! Very friendly staff, good location for visiting top attractions in the cotswolds. Homemade cookies delivered to the rooms during cleaning was a wonderful touch!

We came here for a quick stop over on our journey South. The room was fantastic, they even had a free travel cot for our baby and there was a beautiful bath in the bedroom. Breakfast was included and was delicious! The service here has been outstanding. A big mention to Rob who not only checked us in in the late evening, but also served us first thing in the morning. An asset to the hotel. We’ll be recommending this place to our friends!
Jayac H — Google review
We had a really lovely evening at The George on a lively Saturday night. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the food was delicious, and the wine from the cellar was a real highlight. The setting is stylish and comfortable, and the service was genuinely friendly. There were a few small things that detracted from a 10/10 experience — our mains arrived on cold plates, which meant they didn’t quite hold their warmth — but overall it was a very enjoyable meal and we left happy. We’d absolutely come back and look forward to seeing it get even better over time.

A central Bar, Hotel, and play space for the gorgeous town of Shipston on Stour in the North Cotswolds; blessed with parking outside space for dining al fresco a set menu and excellent breakfast menu for its clientele who are supported by great staff. Only downsides are the Pigeons that inhabit the roof areas leaving faeces everywhere, a tiny bit more attention to detail in the rooms as windows need replacing, lights need washing and beds made in such a way that when you prepare for sleep it all pulls out and needs re tucking in!! Staff great and enthusiastic it may be management needs waking up to the shortfalls.

Great location in the centre of the beautiful town of Shipston on Stour. Fab pub and hotel, with lovely food and friendly, helpful staff. Well decorated and maintained. Traditional character with lovely bedrooms and en suites, plus wifi. Brilliant weekend all round .
Joff D — Google review
We were staying for the weekend nearby and came here for dinner on a Saturday night. Had 3 courses and the food was really nice! Especially the cheese arancini and sticky toffee pudding! There was live music on, and staff were very friendly and good even though there was a large party happening in the pub.
Lucy H — Google review
8 of us turned up for a meal having been let down unexpectedly by another venue. The George accommodated is in a private dining room. The food was excellent as was the service. Also a nice selection of Brakspears beers. Really impressed.
Mark D — Google review
Stayed overnight, and made to feel welcome from the outset. Wonderfully appointed room (I had the suite) and loved it. Best sleep I had all week. The full English was also the best I had in the UK. Highly recommend.

This is such a beautiful B&B. Bridget is an excellent host and made us feel very welcome. The room had everything we could need and a very comfy bed! Had such a good night sleep with no noise from outside and big thick curtains blocking out the light. Everywhere was very clean and to a high standard. Breakfast options in the morning were great and the full English was delicious. Can’t recommend enough! Thank you for such an enjoyable stay ☺️

Just returned from a 3 night stay. What an amazing B&B and Bridget is a first class host. The room was amazing and the multiple choice breakfast was beautifully cooked and presented. Spending time in the garden each day was 'healing' and I Irecommend the Old Kiln House without hesitation. Not expensive for what you get.

WOW! We have just returned from an amazing weekend at The Old Kiln House, which is a superb high quality B&B, situated ideally for visiting the Cotswolds. It is beautifully furnished to a very high quality. Our host Bridget was very welcoming and friendly. Her breakfasts were beautiful made from locally sourced produce and also included homemade bread and jam, which were beautiful. Bridget has also got a wonderful knowledge of the area and is happy to make suggestions on where to visit or where to eat. All in all, we had an amazing first visit to the beautiful Cotswolds, which we thank you for. We look forward to returning again soon.

Thank you Bridget, wonderful host. Lovely, homely place to stay. Beautifully renovated. Great breakfasts & we appreciated the guidance as to which villages to visit in the neighbouring areas. And the meals at the local pub were first class. Can strongly recommend.

Bridget was a wonderful host, so welcoming and helpful. The room was lovely and had everything you'd need and was spotless. Breakfast was such a treat as well, local produce and even homemade jam! We were only visiting for a wedding but it was the perfect base and wouldn't hesitate to come back.

Absolutely 5 star all the way .....This is the best bed and breakfast I have ever had the pleasure to stay at. Upon arrival we were greeted with complimentary drinks and nibbles. The bedroom was luxurious and the quality of the extras provided was top notch. Bridget was an amazing host, and breakfast, whatever you choose will definitely set you up for the day. Shipston on stour is a great place to stay whilst visiting different areas of the cotswolds. This is by far the best place to stay and I would highly recommend.

This B&B is one of the best we've ever stayed in, and we've been coming to the UK for decades. Lovely room and bathroom, delicious breakfast and Bridget Green is an especially lovely host. Being in the town of Shipston-on-Stour offered excellent restaurants ( Bower House was fabulous) and nearness to many sites in the Cotswolds. I highly recommend this B&B and we hope to return !!!

What a find! Gorgeous room, comfy bed, fabulous breakfast & a terrific host! Lots of advice on places to eat in the evening that were just around the corner. Definitely recommend a stay in this delightful B&B.

Watch repair service

The craftsmanship and professionalism are highly praised by patrons who have experienced their services. Customers appreciate the helpful and professional staff who provide same-day repairs, making it convenient for them to get their timepieces back in working order without long waits.
Great Service! Professional and friendly people to deal with - fixed 2 watches of extreme sentimental value to me at an astoundingly fair price! Now saved in my phone as The Watch Doctors - highly recommended 10/10

The team at Time in Hand were fantastic- very accommodating and so helpful. Adrian paid a home visit to assess the problem with my clock and took it away to repair. Communication was perfect and Adrian is so knowledgeable and sympathetic to the quirks and character of an old clock. He put work in to suit my budget and explained future potential problems and signs to look out for. Could not have wished for better service. As this clock will always be in my life, I feel sure I will need their services again! Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.Thankyou

Mike D — Google review
I can't rate these guys highly enough. The previous owner of the business had failed to fix my faulty clock, despite having it for months, and then several home visits. The baloney that he spouted as well gave me no confidence in him. I gave up on it working again. I contacted the current owners, for advice on what mechanism I would need to replace my faulty one, and they offered to look at it for free. On doing so, they spotted the problem within a minute and kept it for a couple of weeks to fix, and monitor, before giving it back to me. They charged me nothing, doing the repair as a courtesy, to make amends for their predecessors failings. They didn't need to do so, but I'm very grateful that they did. Brilliant customer service.

Couldn’t be any happier with Bernice and the team , sorted the issues out with my watch and a very friendly service. So overall a 5 star review and would recommend to anyone . ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Very rude member of staff.. I'm guessing she was the owner. I went in and purchased an expensive belt and suggested that it might be the wrong size so she was going to order some more (as it was the last one left) to restock the shelves and swap if it was too small. When I called her a few days later to say it was too small she said she hadn't ordered any more and when I asked for a refund she was extremely rude suggesting that if I went to Sainsburys and bought some cornflakes I shouldn't expect to get a refund for them the following day when I decided I didn't want them. Very very rude. Will NEVER go here again.
R S — Google review
No stars. Still trading online. Closed shop. Doesn't answer emails or telephone or Fbook page. Having to go down the small claims route as has property for repair for months of mine. Do no touch this business with a barge pole! You have been warned.

Wine cellar
Nestled in the charming town of Shipston-on-Stour, Sheldon's Wine Cellars has been a beloved independent wine merchant for over 150 years. This destination shop is perfect for wine enthusiasts seeking quality selections at reasonable prices. With a constantly evolving portfolio sourced from smaller producers, Sheldon's offers an impressive variety of fine wines. The knowledgeable and friendly staff, including Shane and Esther, are always ready to assist customers with their expertise and personalized recommendations.
Time reveals everything for sure, what a lovely gem to find. Oh so friendly owners. Amazing selection of wines in many formats. Selection of chilled whites and beers as well.look forward to visiting again. Thank you kindly for the opener as well.

Fantastic place with great wines collection in the cellar and shop above Very friendly and helpful people work there. I recommend it to anyone who plans to visit or stop by in Shipston-on-Stour.
Tomek I — Google review
Sheldon’s has quickly become our favourite wine shop since we first visited over a year ago. Shane, Esther and the team are just so helpful and welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable about their wines. The cellar downstairs is a lot of fun, with an amazing selection of fine wines - and the main shop upstairs has fantastic quality wines at all price points. Shane helped us with choosing and sourcing the wines for our wedding day - and gave great advice and help. They also helped our special request for a wedding wine gift list which was a lot of fun for us and our guests! Cannot recommend Sheldon’s highly enough for fantastic wines and a great team.
Lauren F — Google review
So, a lot of well established and expert wine merchants can get stuffy, boring and snobby, not the guys at Sheldon's. Every time I go in the team are warm and friendly even tho I am one of the rare Riesling and Rosé fans in this world they will always endeavour to listen, help and inform. Great place to get decent wine and spirits.
B W — Google review
One of my favourite local stops. Every single time I have come in over the years, the staff will always come over to offer their expertise or just for a friendly chat. The selection is superb and if you're hosting for an occasion....you have got to venture into the cellar. This place is a gem!
Sam G — Google review
I attended a wine tour here a few months ago. It was so well run; everyone was made to feel included. There was a festive atmosphere, also thanks to their wonderful decorations in the cellar. I came out with way more knowledge than I expected and a little bit tipsier, as expected!
Liz C — Google review
A recommendation from the Cotswold Distillery when they didn't have something I needed. I'm so glad they recommended Sheldon's. An amazing place with a huge range of wines, some spectacular dry vermouths (the item I was looking for) and lots more besides. The staff/owners were great. Very helpful, knowledgeable and interesting. I must have driven past Sheldon's hundreds of times but now I'll be stopping far more often.
Angus B — Google review
Knowledgeable staff and very friendly. What I like is the new innovation of the tasting machine which allows you to try out a whole range of wines before you buy. You can then take it next door for your meal at el cafe (subject to corkage). They have a better range of french wines than many places these days. I bought some wine which they had bought in from a private collector which was good value for money. Well worth a browse.

Stayed in the hotel and ate in the restaurant. What an amazing place. Room was really nice. Bath tub and shower were excellent and kings size bed really comfortable. The food in the restaurant was amazing. The lemon meringue pie souffle was a highlight. The chef was really accommodating with food allergies. The breakfast in the morning was also lovely with a nice selection. The staff were awesome and friendly from when you first walk in to when you leave. Highly recommend this place.

The food was mindblowingly good. The tasting menu blew our socks off. And is incredible value for what you are served. The decor is opulent, the service - particularly from Paul was exceptional. His interaction with the guests was charismatic and charming and his knowledge of the food and wine shone through. And last but not least, Head Chef Leo Kattou came to talk us through the dishes and it was an absolute privilege to have met him and eaten his incredible food. After a small rest I cannot wait to go back. I have my eye on the set lunch menu. Thanks to all the staff back and front of house for a very special experience. PS - Candles, flowers on the table and very good plants also scored eleventy out of ten.

Amazing. I could not recommend this restaurant more highly. The service was incredible - friendly people, with no request being too much. The food was outstanding. Each dish was excellent; full of flavor, great portion size, perfect timing. We loved that the chefs came out to deliver the dishes! It is easy to see why this team have won consecutive awards. Well done! What a treat.

40 quid a head for 1 course and only one out of our party of 4 had wine! How does this place get such good reviews!? So overpriced and the service unbelievably slow. 20 minutes to be given a drink and an hour wait for mediocre food. The sauce on the duck was so salty and the fillet was lukewarm. The town has a very odd vibe in general. Snotty "posh" people and the general undercurrent of the people that frequent a whetherspoons at 10am. Most weird. Cannot wait to leave. Feel ripped off
Dan G — Google review
Fabulous dinner with friends. Great service and great food. Lovely menu all at a reasonable price. Excellent and substantial wine list with some nice wines at a fair restaurant price. All in all a delightful dining experience. We would all highly recommend.
David T — Google review
Had my birthday meal today (Sunday), which i was very much looking forward to after reading the reviews. Sadly our experience wasn't good. Food was mediocre for the price - mackerel starter not worth a mention, the roast would be adequate if it wasn't for cold Yorkshire pudding, and incredibly hard roast potatoes (meaning they were sitting somewhere on standby until reheated). What really let the whole experience down was the cold, unengaging, sort of "I hate working Sundays " service. I was really excited for this meal due to Michelin rosettes awarded..Very disappointing experience. What happened, guys?
Kat L — Google review
Came here for Sunday lunch and had a three course special menu of handmade scallop ravioli to start, beef rump with trimmings for main and lemon meringue soufflé for dessert. Food was great, the beef was very tender and the dessert was to die for. Service fantastic too, thank you for making our Sunday special!

We've been dining at the bower house for many years now, and will do so for years to come. The events they host, the food, the service is one the best, if not the best. I'm always recommending it whenever I get the chance as it's just perfect dining experience. Love it!

Fast food restaurant
Nestled in the vibrant heart of Shipston-on-Stour, Shipston Fish Bar is a beloved local gem that specializes in traditional fish and chips available for takeaway. This charming spot has become a staple for many, thanks to its generous portions and reasonable prices. Diners rave about the crispy battered Halloumi and flavorful kebab meat, which have quickly gained popularity alongside their classic offerings. The establishment prides itself on cleanliness and friendly service, making every visit enjoyable.

Chips were gritty. It is the first time this has happened in 6 years of coming here but I’m not impressed. I also need to check the price I was charged. Hopefully next time will be better.
Adrian B — Google review
Says it was open on Monday lunchtime online. But fully closed. Went to Kinetin instead and had great fish and chips
Howard M — Google review
Absolutely disgusting, certainly not cod , very strong smell , with a thick layer of yellow slime in the centre of the fish and very thick batter , won’t be using again
Stella C — Google review
Probably one of the worst fish and chips I've ever had. No flavour, not enough salt and vinegar... fish was ok but the batter peeled off on opening. Even curry sauce was bland
Andrew L — Google review
This is our local takeaway fish and chippy. Couldn't survive without them! Their chips are awesome, their service is fab and we are slowly discovering that their kebab meat is also very good. Generous portion, reasonable pricing, quick service, can't fault it.
Shivali — Google review
Not good, plenty of chips, one portion was enough for four of us, but the batter on the fish was awful. We all scraped most of it off the fish. It was thick like a paste and as other people have mentioned, yellow in colour, not at all light and crispy. Ugh!
Hold P — Google review
Disgusting dinner tonight. Clearly reheated from lunch. Cod limp and inedible. Chips no better. How do you mess up chips as a chip shop?? With families spending what little is left of their money with you for a weekend treat - DO BETTER! We won’t be back ever again as this is not the first time we have been disappointed. And we will be telling everyone else we know to swerve you too.

Italian restaurant
Nestled in the charming market town of Shipston on Stour, Fratelli Shipston on Stour is a delightful culinary gem that showcases the best of local produce. With an impressive selection of high-quality ingredients like Cotswold lamb and Gloucestershire Old Spot, this eatery offers a warm and inviting atmosphere reminiscent of an old barn. The menu features mouthwatering options from homemade sausages to delectable pizzas, making it perfect for both casual lunches and intimate dinners.
Had amazing dining experience that started with making the reservation. Highly recommend it if you are in town or even a few miles away in Stratford-upon-Avon, like we were. Host are warm and welcoming. We ordered Vegetarian Pizza and Garlic Pizza bread (see pics) for starters. The crust was delicious and pizza were perfectly done for our taste. We also tried Branzino (sea bass) and Tagliatelle pasta with seafood (shared among four). Branzini’s skin was perfectly crisp/crunchy and capers complemented the fish. Tagliatelle was well done. Try their vegetables from the Sides. Will visit again if we are in the region again.

Charming restaurant in Shipston just off the High street. The decor resembles an old barn feel, delightful warm and welcoming. The staff are attentive and friendly, the food is full of flavour and reasonable priced. The tomato garlic pizza bread was lovely and with the bruschetta was an ideal starter for a couple sharing. We opted to share the canneloni as a main with some fries and completed the meal with a scrumptious cheesecake dessert. An amazing experience would definitely recommend.

Staff Christmas Party held here and must say that both the food and the service were excellent. Made to feel welcome by the staff. Would definitely eat here again
Mark B — Google review
Had a reasonable meal there last night. No complaints but proper Italian it isn't. Everything lacked flair, seasoning and flavour. Service was good as was the wine. It could do with more than 1 toilet each but it's an old building. I'd go back if I was in the area with my expectations adjusted.

Blown away by the beautiful food and service! Such a gem of a find. We’ve been staying local for a few nights and wish we would have found this place sooner. Would absolutely recommend if you’re staying in the area or surrounding areas. Prices are reasonable and we were seated, served and had eaten our food all within 30 mins we were so impressed!! My husband had the steak and said it’s one of the best he’s ever had ( he eats steak every where we go ) so 10/10 from us.

Tea house
Nestled in the charming town of Shipston on Stour, Mrs. Brown's Tea Rooms offers a delightful escape into traditional English tea culture right at the edge of the picturesque Cotswolds. This quaint establishment is known for its warm hospitality and an extensive menu featuring classic favorites like homemade soups, scrumptious scones with clotted cream and jam, and an array of delectable cakes that are hard to resist.
Really enjoyed my breakfast here this morning, sat outside watching the world go by. Lovely bacon but the sausage was standard fare. Mushrooms very tasty and well cooked. The star for me though was the pot of tea that came with the price of the breakfast. Got 3 cups out of it and it was made from their own loose tea blend, and NOT teabags! What's going on, loose tea!!..so refreshing. 5/5 from me, keep it up!

Fantastic little cafe in a wonderful small village. Dog friendly and wonderful fresh food and daily baked scones. Niki is always full of smiles and helpful. The staff were fantastic and the lunch menu was very good. Can't wait to return, it's home from home 🏡♥️

Lovely food and drinks. Friendly atmosphere and staff. It was very busy when I went. Quirky vintage style decor. Very clean and tidy. I recommend.

A traditional Tea Room occupying an old building on a corner plot. Brilliant to see such a relic still in use and providing a local service so often missing in bustling towns.

Very disappointed cheap ingredients which lacked in taste. Sausage batch cheap roll with anaemic looking sausage ,had to put sauce on it to give it any flavour. Flapjack inedible. Teacake no more then a bread bun tiny amount of fruit no spices had to ask for jam as it was no better than eating toast . However pot of tea was nice no wheelchair access toilet could not be used as toilet not suitable either.

What a great find! Very friendly, clean and a great atmosphere. Full of locals (I think), excellent menu, I had apple & leek soup, coronation chicken, both excellent, my friends equally enjoyed their lunch...perfect lunch; thank you folks.

Mrs Brown’s café has always been my favourite café. The quality of the food is excellent, and the staff have always been very friendly and efficient, however, the last two times we went we were left waiting way longer than what is acceptable and eventually we left. The café was only half full and for this reason, my review has gone from five stars to 3.

This tea room is a little gem. We had delicious sandwiches and great coffee here, with excellent customer service from Lydia and the team. Don't miss this fabulous place!
