Brigit's Garden & Café in Galway offers a unique experience with its Celtic-themed gardens spread across 11 acres of wildflower meadows. The award-winning Garden Cafe serves high-quality homemade food, including options for kids, and provides a relaxing dining space overlooking the garden or al fresco dining on the patio. Families can also enjoy a play area with toys and books in the cafe. The gardens feature perennial trees, nature trails, a calendar sundial, a lake, and a fairy fort.
Better than expected! A paradise full of magic and also Celtic traditions! Their coffee place and shop are also special! Good vibes only! Last but not least, it's a non profitable organisation!

Beautiful and magical place for kids and family. Not huge but decent amount of walks and interesting stuff. Well recommended
Tomas — Google review
Bridget’s Garden and Café is a beautiful, peaceful place to visit, with 11 acres of varied and interesting gardens to explore. The café is lovely, the facilities are good, and parking is decent. I really enjoyed my visit and would definitely return. Just two things to keep in mind: when I visited on a weekday, there were several school groups enjoying the gardens, which did mean a fair amount of noise throughout. Also, at peak lunchtime, the café struggled a bit with the volume of customers. The food looked and smelled fantastic, but the waiting time in the queue was long and things appeared quite disorganised. The hardworking staff were doing their best, but a little more behind-the-scenes organisation would make a big difference. Entry is €11 and well worth it overall. I look forward to visiting again!

It was a peaceful moment. The people were very kind, and the food was tasty. It's objectively a good spot and I highly recommend it.

Probably my toddler's favorite stop! We loved this place. It was cute and relaxing after 15 days rushing around the country. We got coffee and treats and started winding down for our last couple days in the country. Sept 15, 2024.

TreeBark Store is a coffee shop in Moycullen that stocks local Irish producers and offers unique artworks and prints. It's a great spot for coffee lovers, with plenty of seating options and beautiful designer interiors.
Epic coffee lovely friendly lads served me happy days. Delicious coffee locally roasted
Sinéad G — Google review
Well where do l start first, on a positive note the coffee is amazing. However, the owner was always unfriendly and flippant with me, despite me being very friendly and delighted to see people as l was a nurse busy working in the ICU during Covid time. Trying to get a conversation from him was like pulling teeth. Bare in mind when all the arty fartys would arrive he was all talk. I bought atleast 2-3 coffees per day for over a year and was never told there was a loyalty system in place. So never availed of a free coffee until l seen somebody else using their loyalty card. I was gobsmacked to say the least. Unfortunately that was my experience and also my husband's, who would get on with anybody found him unwelcoming. This is the first review l have ever written in my life and its a shame it has to be a negative review. I hope this resonates with the owner as being kind to your customers goes along way

Quirky coffee house. Small with gift shop area selling wooden pens, soaps and local artisan gifts. Lovely selection of air plants too. Coffee was good.
Jen B — Google review
I had a voucher that they had printed in store and brought it into the shop to use, the server was extremely reluctant to scan their own voucher due to the barcode being a little faded though i hadn't even taken it out of the envilope it came in, without even scanning it they just said "it dosent work". The server wasn't very helpful and said I'd have to give the exact date it was printed for them to find it in the system, though it was received as a gift so I had no way of knowing the date. Their own voucher didn't work in their own shop, I wouldn't recommend trying to gift anyone a voucher from them for this reason.

Excellent coffee served with a smile. The owners of this small coffee shop spare no effort to bring you the most delicious cup of freshly brewed coffee. There is so much available in the shop - wonderful gifts from local Irish artisans, a huge range from jewellery, delicious and unique foodie items, cards, even socks!
AM J — Google review
An excellent location that knows its coffee and knows it very well. A top-class coffee house that has one of the best ranges of coffee beans from various roasters around the country and fantastic local ones like Calendar Coffee.

Brilliant speciality coffee bar serving great espresso and filter brews all day. The staff are extremely friendly and willing to give suggestions on anything they have. This is the kind of place that anything they sell is only the highest quality products they can find. Would highly recommend people to pop in on their way out west!

I don’t live near this fabulous coffee shop unfortunately but I make sure I stop every time I’m passing to go to Galway! Their coffee is the finest you will get anywhere and I am mighty fussy about my coffee. Also love their quirky gifts and cards. Love this place ❤️

Nestled between the breathtaking landscapes of Connemara and the serene shores of Lough Corrib, you'll find the charming village of Moycullen, often referred to as the Gateway to Connemara. This Gaeltacht gem is a true reflection of Ireland's rugged allure, boasting lush green hills and peaceful lakes that invite exploration.
Absolutely stunning glass work. We meant to just drop in look around and leave. We ended up spending more than an hour shopping and watching the demonstration on how they made their wonderful designs. We purchased one of the demonstration pieces and the artist signed it for us. This is a must stop if you are in the area.
Daniel C — Google review
Seeing craftsmen create hand crafted pieces in front of your eyes from memory is a great thing to witness. A great variety of pieces and jewelry that are made onsite are available for purchase.
Dr. F — Google review
We got a demonstration and it was fascinating! Their pieces are beautiful. We just couldn't leave without picking out a few. Their jewelery and crystal are worth the stop.
Kim L — Google review
Enjoyed an amazing tour and an amazing demonstration of how to make these beautiful creations. Loved it all.
Pilar T — Google review
This was one of our favorite stops in Ireland. Beautiful hand made crystal. We were amazed by the demonstration and love the fact that this is a family business. The pieces are so beautiful we couldn’t leave without them. It was fun to get home and have a piece of beautiful Ireland and Crystal waiting for us.

Wonderful experience seeing it made first-hand. Beautiful things for sale as well as nicely priced gift shop items if sweaters, hats, souvenirs, etc
Lois D — Google review
A very nice shop. The glass cutting is different, the quality and choice of the jewellery is good. The owner and staff are very helpfull.
Nathalie P — Google review
This was a great location to visit for crystal goods and to see a demonstration of glass making and carving. The skill in the master-craftsman is unmatched -- it was a special experience to see the master Donal at his craft. He was very polite and answered all of our questions about glass crafting. The customer service is top notch and they are more than helpful in you finding the right piece or pieces. Make sure you look around the entire shop... You may find something hiding on a shelf that's calling your name! And remember, these pieces are hand created. While the designs may be repeated, but no two are exactly alike!

Killarainey Woods Walk is a charming location, characterized by an intricate network of winding rural paths and roads that intersect with each other. Additionally, there is a lake that offers convenient spots for fishing. However, it tends to get quite crowded, particularly on weekends, due to the presence of dog walkers of various types, cyclists, and diverse families with boisterous children. Therefore, if one seeks a peaceful and uninterrupted stroll in solitude, this may not be the ideal destination.
This is a lovely place, a criss cross of winding country roads, lanes and paths running through a patch of woods. There is also a lake with handy places for fishing. One thing though, it gets extremely busy especially on weekends. It's packed with dog walkers of any kind, cyclists and random families with lots of running noisy children. So if you are looking for a long solitary walk, this is not the place.

Visited this place today with a friend. We waited few minutes and then we sat down, waited again few minutes and decided to go up and take menu ourselves. Then we went up to order and we were told they will come to us to take an order, even though someone who arrived after us went up to the till and ordered, also got food before us. My friend had a cajun chicken ciabatta, while placing order she was asked does she wants ciabatta or wrap, ordered ciabatta and still got wrap 🤷🏼‍♀️. I had ham and cheese toasted sandwich which in my opinion had barely any filling for €10. (Now this is one half as Im holding the other half). We waited good 40mins to get food, which was luke warm when we got it. We ordered desert as well but we had to have it to go as we waited so long for food and we had to get back to work. Desert was okay. Caffe is very cold, but waitress was nice. Overall, we would not come here again after today’s experience.

Went in a few weeks ago for tea. Immediately noticed a strange smell but never mind I really wanted a tea! I was somewhat horrified to see they were still flogging Lindt chocolates at almost full price in earlt March. But when a very rude guy barked at me as I looked for a seat, I left straight away. Plenty of nice places where people are pleasant all over Galway, I don't need to be treated like this.

Ordered GF cupcakes for our daughter’s birthday and the kids loved them. Had a nice coffee and pastry while we were there which was very nice. We’ll definitely be back.
Aidan H — Google review
I was sad to see Roots closed down next door so called in to the Cakery. Some neighbours and friends had warned me against visiting due to the owner (who I believe is named Ali) being rude and the place generally unclean. I went to order a coffee and he sniggered at me, shouted across the room to confirm my order and dismissed another customer after me. I told one of our group chats about it afterwards and was scolded for even giving them a potential custom today!! 😂 I really do hope this place is eventually replaced by a local-run family store.

Takeout Restaurant
Roma Takeaway & Pizzeria (Moycullen) is an excellent establishment to place an order. They offer delectable fish with a crunchy coating, as well as delicious pizza with a thin crust that children adore. The staff is both amiable and efficient, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. Moreover, their newly implemented delivery service is a valuable addition. Recently, I indulged in their flavorful chips which were generously cut and seasoned with salt and vinegar.
Friendly staff serving great food, what more could you ask for. 5 stars all the way..

Avoid. Really terrible quality food. Super saturated old oil. ‘Spicy burger’ is refried sick - and you don’t get any buns. (See pic) Chicken fried is a swim with oil and tasteless- never knew chicken could be this tasteless. Guess there’s a first for thing. Don’t give me started on the price - absolutely not worth the money

They have on the menu , burgers, pizzas and the kebabs. Pizza well made, would have loved it more loaded with veggies Mixed kebab, chicken and meat bit chunky n not so soft, fries -would have loved them to be more crispier. Condiments pick up counter for oregano , chilli flakes , olive oil, ketchup and mayo would have been fantastic. Service on the other end was top notch. Kind staff .

Day 2

North side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the north side side of town. Start the day off with Wildlands, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to The Forge Gastrobar. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

Wildlands in Moycullen is an activity center that offers a variety of thrilling indoor and outdoor activities suitable for all ages. The center features climbing walls for kids and teens to conquer their fears and test their strength, as well as 24 Celtic Challenge Rooms for group problem-solving fun. Additionally, visitors can enjoy recreational sports like Zip n Trek, Archery, Disc Golf, and more in the expansive 20-acre woodland overlooking Ballyquirke Lake.
We just completed a day in Wildlands and I have to say it was fantastic. We were on holidays in the city and someone suggested we do an activity. Just outside the city and well signposted. We signed up for the wall climbing with an 9 and 6 year old. It was excellent, our 6 year old was reluctant at the start but a member of staff gave her so much time and got her to follow her around. Eventually she was climbing and had a blast. We also had a 4 year old who loved the fairy trail and the playgrounds. All in we had a lovely few hours here, will visit again and thanks to the great staff on the climbing wall they were so patient and great with the kids.
Dublin F — Google review
Lovely facility and peaceful place. Cabins are comfortable and well equipped. Just a shame that there's no discounted rate for residents for any of the activities while they're staying. It makes the activities poor value as you already have access to the playground, disc golf etc and yet you've to pay full price to go on the bounce nets.

Tara C — Google review
Nice place, but it's hard to give 5 stars when you're not fully satisfied. The prices are insanely high, and the restrictions are so senseless it's honestly frustrating... My kids went to the ropes park and only used it for 10 minutes before it started pouring so heavily that they could barely see anything. One of the staff members was really kind and offered us to exchange the attraction for something indoors since it was impossible to do anything outside... Unfortunately, that wasn’t possible – or rather, it was possible, but only for an extra fee. So we literally threw money down the drain on an attraction that lasted under 10 minutes... I really don’t understand why we couldn’t switch to something else, especially when it clearly wasn’t crowded at the time? The reception staff was unfriendly, rolling their eyes the moment you weren’t looking... Also, another thing – if someone is paying that much money for a cabin, why aren’t the attractions included in the package? Or at least offered with a bigger discount? Honestly, it was a disappointment... The older girls were really let down. The only plus was that our youngest – 20 months old – had her moment and had fun.
Kamila O — Google review
Cabin - Amazing Staff very good. Zipline - one of the best we have been to. Ninja course - good laugh with the family. Should be a discount on activities when staying - very expensive after paying nearly 800e for a 2 night stay, would be a nice touch and encourage more ppl to stay, especially when there is onlt 14 lodges and so many come in from outside to avail of activities.

We recently held our corporate team event at Wildlands in Moycullen and had an absolutely brilliant experience. The event room was spacious, spotless, and beautifully set up with thoughtful table décor and designated areas for coats and bags. The projector worked perfectly, making our presentations seamless. Lunch at the Olive Tree Kitchen was a highlight — we enjoyed a delicious variety of food including pizzas, burgers, and goujons. The team was incredibly accommodating with dietary needs, offering great vegan and vegetarian options. In the afternoon, we split into three groups for activities: the Ninja Course, Escape Rooms, and Zip ‘n’ Track. Despite the rainy weather, the atmosphere was upbeat and energetic. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, helpful, and professional. We were well looked after throughout the day, with plenty of coffee and refreshments available. A special shoutout to James, our event organiser, who was fantastic in coordinating everything to suit our needs. His support made the day run smoothly from start to finish. Highly recommend Wildlands for any corporate or team-building event — great facilities, amazing staff, and a truly memorable experience!

Our family stayed in the cabin no 7 last week on first impression we thought it was fantastic but we soon reliased we had more than us staying in the cabin. The place was crawling with spiders i counted around 15 which i had no choice to kill then with my shoe. My kids couldn’t sleep most of the night because they were afraid that one would be in the bed. My wife did say it to the girl when checking out but she just didn’t care enough. Pity that because we did enjoy the park. The prices are very high for food and activities and most of the staff are lovely. Fintan you can contact me by email .I have no missed calls on my phone so you might have the wrong number.

My daughter visited today and was treated very badly at reception my daughter is autistic and asked one to explain proper before going on zip it and they did not explain. She then returned to the desk and said she isn’t going to do the activity anymore she didn’t even go on it she just seen and saw it was to high so backed out of it, she was laughed at saying what u want us to do. They handled the situation very badly

Nestled in Wildlands, Moycullen, Olive Tree Kitchen is a must-visit for pizza enthusiasts. Their Napoli Firebrick Oven Pizzas are renowned for their exceptional taste, prepared with homemade 48-hour proven dough and a blend of local and Italian ingredients. The restaurant's commitment to freshness is evident as they source vegetables from their own garden. After enjoying the activities at Wildlands Activity Centre or exploring Loughwell Farm nearby, stop by this restaurant for a delightful meal or takeaway.
There were a lot if kids with their families as that is the restaurants target audience, but despite that it wasn't too loud. Inside as well as outside there was a lovely atmosphere, we sat outside and watched the activities from wildlands which was quite interesting. The food was amazing, we had the smoked fish (haddock) and the vegetarian dish of the day and both were great, the fries that we got along with them were amazing also. We got a cheesecake for dessert, but sitting outside we were hounded by wasps, which was a bit annoying. Overall, a lovely experience!

The worst meal we had in a long time. We had 2 chicken burgers and 2 chicken goujons and chips. The chips were made a long time ago and kept warm and had a smell of old oil the chicken was the same thing fried in old oil and because was done a long time ago was too dry. I don't get how such bad food is highly rated. Really disappointed.

Don’t waste your money. I’m still in shock at how awful the food was. It has so much potential to be a great place for a family meal but instead it was inedible food at outrageous prices. Much better options available within 5 mins drive

The food was delish and the service was delightful. The gluten free pizza was some of the best I have had. After a small mix up that made our food take a bit longer we were offered a free drink or dessert. Would certainly come back again if I was in the area.

I had been to wild lands for lunch a couple of times before and was very happy. However on this occasion I wasn't. My son's Chicken burger and chips were lovely, side of purple coleslaw not good. Cabbage cut very thick and tasted like cabbage, it was too strong. I chose"pulled free range roast chicken" sandwich on focaccia which I m not sure was focaccia may have been ciabata. There was no roast peppers or red onion. A shaving of chorizo on 1 half and a lot of cheddar cheese melted into the bread... And a side of bad purple coleslaw. I did not complain which I should have I ate it because I was hungry. It's just not good enough. On the plus side chips were lovely and pizzas looked great

Although the staff is friendly and place has nice atmosphere, we ate the most expensive and least tasty burgers here. The grease was literraly dripping on a plate. Also, we got no side salad, and a little bit of green would be helpful.

The food was fantastic here - really recommend the roast beef! Really lovely staff too.

It was a quiet Wednesday afternoon when we visited so there was only a handful of customers there. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. A few parking spaces out the back. Food was good. We didn't order a lot as it was more of a late lunch but what we got was grand. I'd say it's popular and busy at weekends.

Absolutely stunning! The pub is very open, bright with a lovely high staircase that lets in loads of light. We were greeted in a very friendly and professional manner. A nice menu and well laid out. The food is ABSOLUTELY delicious and huge portions too! The Forge has to be the nicest and best experience we have ever had. Bravo!

Lovely place, spaciouse. Serving carefully prepared and very tasty food. The stake sandwich is soooo good! The service is friendly and efficient. Also have take away.

A superb dining experience. Having used the customary hand cleansing station at the entrance, my wife and I were were ushered by friendly, helpful staff to a suitable table. The venue was clean, light and spacious with plenty of room between tables. The seats were the most comfortable we have ever sat on, in any restaurant - ever. We joked we wanted to add a couple of their chairs to our order. I had the beef, with roast vegetables. My wife chose the rack of lamb. Both meals were utterly delightful. Cooked beautifully, the meat was tender and the accompaniments similarly delicious. The bill, including cranberry juice drinks, came to only 45 Euros. Wonderful value for such an excellent meal. I heartily recommend this venue.

Take a slice of pancake, coat it with hoisin sauce, put some shredded duck meat, shredded spring onion, shredded cucumber, and carrot, then roll it up and eat it, it’s delicious 😋

Very hard working and great intent to relate to customers. The menu is varied, should be good enough for most visitors. I come here often because the black pepper mushroom dish is magnificent!

An awesome little coffee bus. These guys do the best coffee and their home baked good are straight up delicious (flat white & oatie the best combo on my books). A gem of a place, always served with a smile & you can totally feel the love & effort that goes into running it 🥰.

Fun first stop on a road trip from Galway through Connemara. Great coffee, great pastry, super friendly people. Pin it on Google Maps and it will lead you right to it! Loved it 😍

I’m local and feel so grateful to have the pink van close by, it’s always delicious and they even made me a delicious ‘iced chocolate’ as I was missing it from Australia, I know to check instagram or Facebook (@mamanodrama.official) first to see if they are open that day. I’ve been tons of times and look forward to going again soon

Great coffee which is badly needed in Moycullen. Great for busy mums who can pull up without having to unload kids 😆. Treats vary and are delicious. Kids love their cookies.

Fabulous coffee and service. Kids love the hot chocolate. Worth a stop off when passing by
Cathriona W — Google review
Truly the best coffee ever! I’m obsessed with their food. There isn’t a single item off their menu I haven’t tried. Can’t recommend this place enough. I can guarantee, you will not get anywhere else this freshness, quality and taste! Must try! Egg and avocado sambo - to die for. And ugly muffins. And kinder rocky road. And white chocolate chip cookie. And… just everything!
