City Centre Mall

Shopping mall

City Centre Mall is a large shopping complex in Mangalore with approximately 150 stores spread across five levels. It also features a cinema, a family games area, and a hypermarket. With its vibrant atmosphere and bustling ambience, the mall attracts huge crowds and serves as a popular hangout spot for friends. It offers a wide variety of outlets, including well-known brands, numerous dining options, and entertainment facilities such as cinema houses and gaming arcades.
One of the Most Popular Malls in Mangalore City Centre Mall used to be our go-to mall in Mangalore. It’s a multi-floor shopping destination with something for everyone — whether it’s shopping, food, or just spending some time with family or friends. The mall is centrally located in the city, with good road connectivity from almost all parts of Mangalore. Parking is usually not a problem. There are plenty of shopping options spread across different floors — from clothing, electronics, accessories, footwear, to branded stores and local outlets. Ground floor and 5th floor have food outlets, and the variety is quite good. From snacks and coffee to full meals, you’ll easily find something that suits your taste. There’s also a small multiplex (PVR) on the top floor for movie lovers. The mall is well maintained overall, with elevators and escalators for easy movement. It can get a bit crowded during weekends and festival seasons, but that’s expected in a popular place like this. If you’re visiting Mangalore and want to hang out, shop, eat, or catch a movie — City Centre Mall is definitely worth checking out.
AVINASH S — Google review
It is the most famous mall in Mangalore and it has very good connectivity with buses, autos, taxis and all. All type of shops and brands are there in the mall which makes this mall a people’s first choice. There is parking in upside and downside of the mall which is very convenient from both sides ( Aloysius and Sai palace side ) All type of clothing, games, multiplex, and all kind of shops are there in this mall and it is a complete package. On weekends, nowadays this mall will be full and there is a difficulty in getting parking which my friend experienced, so be aware of this fact. However this mall is very good and enjoyable. This picture is of rooftop parking and the view from here is also good.

City Center Mall, Mangalore is one of the most vibrant spots in the city, offering a well-rounded experience for shopping, food, and relaxation. Whether you're here to shop, eat, or just pass time, this mall ticks most of the boxes. ✅ Restroom facilities are clean and well-maintained across multiple floors, which is always a plus during long visits. 🕌 Prayer rooms are available, providing a quiet and comfortable space for spiritual needs – a thoughtful addition. 🧸 There's a decent playing room for kids and a few entertainment options like arcade games that can keep children and even adults engaged for hours. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Very kids-friendly overall – with elevators, stroller access, and places to grab a quick snack. 🦒 Loved the quirky giraffe parking lots – they're not only spacious but also creatively themed, making it easier to remember your parking spot! ⏳ Great as a time-passing place, especially if you're waiting for someone or want to enjoy an air-conditioned escape with a coffee or quick bite. The only reason it’s not a full 5 stars is that it can get quite crowded during weekends and holidays, and sometimes the elevator wait is a bit long. Still, it remains one of the best hangout spots in Mangalore. Highly recommended for families, tourists, and anyone looking to spend quality time indoors!
Er.Mahammad S — Google review
City Centre is one of the most popular malls in Mangalore and a great destination for shopping, food, and entertainment—all under one roof. Located in Hampankatta, it’s easily accessible and has good parking space which is a big plus, especially on weekends. The mall has a nice variety of branded stores like Max, Mochi, Reliance Trends, Pantaloons, and more. The Sleep Company store is a must-visit—super friendly staff and high-quality products. There are also small stalls and local shops that make browsing fun. The food court is decent with a mix of options—Subway, KFC, and Bombay Kulfi are my personal favourites. Great place to grab a quick bite or sit down for a casual meal. 🍕🍦 There’s also a kids' play area and a multiplex, so it’s a good hangout for families and students. 🎬👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Whether you're shopping, eating, or just chilling, City Centre Mall has something for everyone. Definitely a go-to spot in Mangalore!

City Centre PVS is one of the most popular and vibrant shopping destinations in Mangalore. It has a great mix of branded stores, entertainment options, and a spacious food court, making it a perfect place to hang out with friends and family. From fashion, electronics, and lifestyle products to tasty eateries and a good cinema experience, everything is available under one roof. The mall is centrally located and easy to access from different parts of the city. The interiors are well-maintained, the AC is comfortable, and there’s always something happening here — whether it’s offers, kiosks, or events. Parking is convenient with multiple floors, and security is also well-managed. Overall, a great spot for shopping, movies, and spending quality time. One of the best malls in Mangalore for a complete day-out experience! ⭐ Rating: 5/5 ✔ Good shopping stores ✔ Nice food court & café options ✔ Clean and lively ambience ✔ Convenient location & parking

Shopping mall
MAK Mall in Mangalore is not your typical shopping center. It's home to the second Audi showroom in Karnataka and the 30th in India, making it a go-to destination for automotive enthusiasts eager to see the latest models. The mall offers ample free parking and houses popular stores like Croma, Bata, Brand Factory, and Barbeque Nation.
Nice place for patients as well as Table Tennis players, for poor people affordable prices, well maintained hospital and freindly staff. In the premises around five cafetaria available students and public, but food is not good and very costly, staffs are very arrogant with patients and public.
Chi. U — Google review
Mall has got good parking facility. Parking is free. The main stores here are the chroma, bata, Brand factory and barbeque nation. Mall is mostly empty except for chroma and barbeque nation. Second floor is completely empty. Barbeque nation, on the third floor serves buffets. Chroma, has got all required electronics and is quite good. Brand factory is again an average clothing store. Good place if you want to buy electronics or try the buffet.

Shopping
Bharat Mall offers a delightful culinary experience with its excellent taste and hospitable service. The staff is efficient, and the presence of self-service adds convenience to the dining experience. It is advisable to order early and make payments at the counter. The overall ambiance is pleasant, without being overcrowded or rushed, especially on weekdays. One must definitely try their exclusive thali ice cream, known as Pabbas Signature, which cannot be found in other Ideal cafes.
🛍️ Bharath Mall, Mangalore – A Nostalgic Urban Landmark Bharath Mall, nestled in the heart of Bejai near the KSRTC bus stand, holds the distinction of being one of Mangalore’s first modern shopping mall—a place that once defined the city’s retail and entertainment scene. 🌟 Highlights - Cinemas & Entertainment: The top floors house Bharath Cinemas, a popular multiplex that continues to draw moviegoers. Spindrift, a rooftop pub add to the mall’s social vibe. - Shopping & Essentials: While many outlets have shifted to newer malls, Bharath Mall still features Decathlon, Reliance Smart Bazaar, and a few fashion and lifestyle stores. - Food Court & Dining: The food court offers a modest selection, but Pizza Hut remains a familiar favorite. And yes—Pabbas Ice Cream Parlour has made its way here too, adding a sweet touch of local pride. 🧭 Atmosphere & Accessibility - The mall is clean and well-maintained, though it’s quieter than its bustling competitors like City Center and Forum Fiza. - Parking is available but comes with a fee. 💭 Final Thoughts Bharath Mall may no longer be the trendsetter it once was, but it still offers a nostalgic charm and a convenient spot for casual shopping, dining, and catching a movie. For longtime locals, it’s more than a mall—it’s a memory.
Jason P — Google review
Small shopping complex, not a mall. Has Reliance Smart, Trends, and Decathlon. Food options are limited and not great. Okay for a quick visit, but don't expect much.
Razin M — Google review
Bharath Mall – A Nostalgic and Convenient Mall in Mangalore Bharath Mall, located just opposite the KSRTC bus stand on Bejai Main Road, has been one of Mangalore’s first and most familiar malls since the early 2000s . It’s a multi-storey mall with five retail floors and two parking levels, making it convenient for people arriving by public transport or car . Inside the mall, you’ll find Big Bazaar, Decathlon, Pizza Hut, Café Coffee Day, and other branded stores such as Adidas, Reebok, Metro Shoes, Levis, Crocodile, Swarovski, and more across the floors . There is also a small food court and a few restaurants on the top floor, though the variety is not as extensive as in newer malls . One of the highlights is Bharath Cinema (Big Cinemas) on the third floor, which is still a popular place for watching movies in the city centre area . The mall is always air-conditioned and has adequate seating areas if you just want to hang out for a while. While many shops have moved out over time, landmarks like Decathlon, Big Bazaar, Pabbas ice cream, and the cinema still draw people in—especially locals who feel nostalgic about the place. Parking is usually available. In short, Bharath Mall might not be the flashiest or the biggest these days, but it still holds a special place in the city’s retail history. It is especially useful if you need a quick shopping trip or want to catch a movie or grab ice cream near the KSRTC area.

Too worst security staff. That lady insult all people who sits on step near smart bazar. No manners. Don't visit such worst place. City centre and forum Mall staff are too good.

I'd a very bad experience here. Washroom is in 3rd floor and it's located in a creepy place. And the washroom locking part(idk what it's called?) Is very sharp. I got a cut becuz of that pls fix it as it might be unsafe for kids too
Ananya N — Google review
The mall parking cashier was extremely rude and arrogant. According to Smart Bazaar, parking should be free upon showing the bill, and their staff even entered our ticket into the system. Which is there in the bill also However, when we inquired with the security guard, he said there is no free parking go n ask with anyone . May b supermarket gave a discount because u park here , but nothing is offered at the parking. Regardless of the situation, he could have communicated politely instead of screaming, which was completely inappropriate. Please teach him how to talk with customers. (Voice tone matters)
Sunil D — Google review
This is a nice mall to visit. With Pabba's being the core attraction, there are outlets of decathlon, relaince trends women and men, jockey, ziwame, several other shops and a food court. The parking was under construction the last time I visited. It is safe and less crowded, a great place to spend the evening at.

One of the oldest mall of Mangalore providing variety of services in respect to dinning, entertainment and shopping time. Spindrift is available on the top floor which is a pub. One step below you will find family restaurant named Thyme which has good food. Rest of the floors there is Bharath cinema, decathlon and food court. Ground floor you can shop for all essentials and also has famous Pabbas icecream parlour. Overall mall is beautiful catering to various attributes. Very good for shopping and dinning - total enjoyment 😃

Nice place to have food with your family or friends. Lovely ambience. Nice view from the balcony! The food was yummy and good. We tried Thyme special mushroom rice, lime soda, mushroom creamy soup, paneer tikka, Nachos salsa. Service was good and the staff was friendly. Parking is available at the Bharat Mall parking area in the basement. Located at the heart of the Mangalore city.

Vegetarian Review : Food was tasty and of good quality ( vegetarian options are not clearly labeled ) Indian & Chinese dishes are best. Italian food here is very average. Deserts are good but very expensive. Price is bit on higher side , but overall vibe and Atmosphere is good !

Great experience overall. The service was super fast, perhaps because we visited quite early at 12:15 PM. The servers and staff were very courteous and humble. The food was good, but I wouldn't say the best. I'd rate the food 4/5. The mocktails were amazing though. We got coconut pannacotta and gulab jamun cheesecake which were also very good. Parking is not a problem as I the restaurant is situated in a mall which has paid parking. The ambience is also amazing as there's a huge glass area letting in a lot of sunlight.
Adithya K — Google review
It was a pleasant experience at this place. We were very hungry when we visited and every dish we ordered at this place tasted good. It was almost their closing time and all the items were served really quick. Would love to visit this place again to try some more continental dishes. The ambience is good and family friendly. 👏🍃

Just fabulous!! The ambience, the food and the staff, are very pleasant. It's a perfect family Restaurant. Its a link of the Spindrift Brew Pub on the upper floor and you get the same house-brewd beers here (Ask for the Bar-Menu if not given). The Menu has Continental, Indian, Chinese and Fusion cuisines. The staff are really helpful in describing the food, and the service is also fast. I enjoyed a scrumptious dinner with Belgian Wheat Beer, delicious starters and Chicken Ala Parilla (main course). A delightful Continental food experience.

Pizza Hut is a popular chain that offers pizza, wings, and pasta for delivery, carry-out, and dine-in. They are well-known for their delicious pizzas with a variety of flavors to choose from. The restaurant also serves sides and desserts. The ambiance of the place is pleasant and usually not too crowded. Customers can enjoy their meal in the spacious setting. Although the service may take a little longer compared to other similar establishments, the food quality is still good.
Really overwhelmed by the pizza's delivered. I had ordered two pizzas ( one panner pizza and one murgh muglai pizza) . Both were absolutely fresh and tasty. I had recieved the pizza within the stipulated time (time which was mentioned while ordering). While recieving the food, it was as warm as usual when we eat in a cafe. For the best pizzas I would suggest Pizza Hut.
Srijan P — Google review
No quality control, their standards are below ground level. For the 3 times I ordered from here, I have always received dry pizzas with no cheese at all and barely any toppings. Prices are too high for the quality being so bad.
Raisa P — Google review
Just craved some pizzas and we landed at Pizza Hut. Got 1+1 pizza offer for ₹350 Tried: Corn and Cheese Pizza – creamy, cheesy, and classic. Veg Kebab Pizza – loaded with flavorful toppings and a spicy kick!
ANANYA S — Google review
Overall a nice ambience and lightwork which matches the vibe and good customer service than the competition
Shrinivas P — Google review
I found the pizza pretty average. It clearly lacks flavour. However the garlic bread is brilliant. I loved the consistency of the bread with the subtle flavour of garlic. The cheese was a distraction and I prefer it without cheese. However, they didn't have that option. The wait here is very long. I waited around 60 mins for the cheese garlic bread and another 30 mins for the pizza. I even was half minded to leave. Mainly for this reason I wouldn't recommend this place.
Nidhin S — Google review
I love the ambience of this place, not usually too crowded, we got recommended by the best offer they had or else we would have ordered something wrong and would have spent a few extra bucks for it. I had tried corn n cheese and Veg kebab surprise, it was quite good and 3 people had it.

You will get best garlic bread here.. The classic garlic bread is my favorite... This shop has lost it's charm as there is no much customer here but if u want to spend a quiet me time u could opt here ... We ordered meal for one and it was worth it.. But i still miss the taste of pizza that i had in my childhood...

Fast food restaurant
McDonald's, a renowned and enduring fast-food chain celebrated for its burgers and fries, is adored by countless individuals. Despite some city center locations being compact and consistently crowded, the introduction of Fayaz as their exceptional manager brought remarkable expertise in food products and service. McDonald's truly embodies the essence of love in every aspect. Moreover, this beloved establishment is cherished universally for its delectable fries and well-received burgers.
Loved the food and it was awesome in taste with low cost food available here, one can easily spend 200-400rs for 2 persons if you want to have food here
Shayan D — Google review
I recently visited McDonald’s after quite a long time, and unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing. We ordered the Korean Burger and a wrap, both of which we were excited to try. However, both items were severely lacking in sauces, making them extremely dry and not enjoyable to eat. We expected bold flavors, especially from something like a Korean Burger, but it just didn’t deliver. The fries, which are usually a McDonald’s highlight, were soggy instead of being crispy and fresh. That was another letdown. To top it off, what used to be a quick 10-minute service took almost 30 minutes this time. Waiting that long for fast food, only to receive subpar quality, was very frustrating. Overall, I left feeling really disappointed with the declining standards at McDonald’s. I hope they take customer feedback seriously and work on improving both the food quality and service speed
Manish S — Google review
This was the first time i tried McDonalds and I was pleasantly surprised. I visited at around 9:30pm on a Friday and it wasn't very crowded. The staff at the counter was really helpful. I tried their McMaharaja meal with a fried chicken as an add-on. The McMaharaja Mac is definitely worth the hype although it can get a big messy as it is pretty big. The fried chicken however wasn't as good (as KFC). That is understandable as Mcdonalds is known for their burgers and not fried chicken. I have to write this about a staff member here who served me the food. He was short and had a mallu accent. He was so sweet and friendly. It was a pleasure just to watch him work. You can tell that he really enjoys his work. Even when he's cleaning up the tables, he does it in such a way that shows that he loves his job. He is so active and energetic while doing his job and definitely deserves a raise! Although i really enjoyed my time here, I'm only giving 4 stars because the food is definitely not healthy and also not value for money.

This place serves up some amazing burgers, desserts and refreshing beverages. Plus, they offer combos that are value for money! You'll find plenty of options for both veg and non-veg lovers, so it's a great spot for everyone. Highly recommend.

I visited the McDonald’s at City Centre Mall, and it was a great experience! The place was clean, well-maintained, and had quick service. The staff were friendly and polite, and our order was served fresh and hot. The fries were perfectly crisp, and the burger was just right — consistent with McDonald’s standards.

Visited Mcdonalds with my friends after our gym session for a quick cheat meal 🤣 It was a bit crowded around 4 pm, filled with students. But, there were enough seats available. We placed our order on the Kiosk available inside, and one staff helped us get the best offer using which we saved some money. Peri Peri nuggets with mustard sauce is still my favorite. The burger and mcflurry ice cream was also good. All in all, a good spot to indulge in some tasty junk food. 🍗🍔

Located at the city centre mall entrance. Nice ambience and spacious. It felt more spicy compared to the other outlets, but it was tasty too. The mall pay parking needs to be used. Edited on 11.03.24. There was an entry through the lifestyle outlet, it's not allowed now but the arrow mark is still there, so kindly remove that to avoid confusion. And also they started to reduce the size of the chicken pieces. Nowadays I get more smaller pieces. Don't let down your trust.

I had a wonderful experience here. Enjoyed the hospitality and the atmosphere. Costumer care was topnotch. I'll be visiting soon.

Biryani restaurant
Indian restaurant
New Biryani Paradise is a popular restaurant in Mangalore, known for its dedication to serving high-quality food. It offers a variety of dishes including mutton biryani, grilled chicken, and Kerala parotta. Customers appreciate the delicious food and friendly service, although some mention that the service can be slow. The restaurant is recommended for non-vegetarians looking for value for money and a satisfying meal before traveling or exploring the area's attractions.
Stopped by for biryani and it was one among the yummiest biryanis I've had. Very well cooked , the rice was flavourful. Not very spicy. And the chicken was so soft & tender. Loved the chicken biryani. And the mutton soup was delicious too. Ended with an average lime soda. Finding parking is an actual issue here as it is a busy road and there's not much street parking available. And the atmosphere was manageable. They have an AC dining area. Chicken biryani - 9/10 Mutton Soup - 8/10 Lime soda - 6/10

New Biryani Palace in Kankanadi, Mangalore fell short of expectations during my recent visit. Despite the positive reviews, both the biryani and grill chicken left much to be desired in terms of taste and value for money. The overpricing of the dishes was particularly disappointing. Unfortunately, this experience did not align with the favorable Google reviews that initially led me to choose the restaurant. I would recommend exploring alternative dining options in the vicinity for a more satisfying culinary experience.

I was a regular customer here years ago, but after trying their chicken biryani today, I was very disappointed. It felt more like plain rice mixed with chicken gravy with hardly any real flavor. Definitely not worth the money, and I won’t be coming back.

My wife's favourite place for biryani. we got the chicken biryani and chicken tikka parcel and ate the shawarma there itself. I was eager to taste the chicken biryani and as I was relishing it at my in laws home, it turned out to be disastrous for me as this steel wire ( please see the photo) got stuck in my throat just before swallowing the food. Initially I thought it must be a small bone piece and to my surprise it was a steel wire. How could they be so irresponsible?? We reach out to such places thinking it be hygenic. It's such a pathetic experience. On calling the restaurant, the concerned person was talking about replacement which wouldn't suffice the purpose so I denied it. If something would have gone wrong with me who would have been responsible???

This paradise is no paradise at all. Awful biriyani. It's overpriced and anything extra, will be priced. Biriyani with no gravy and salad extra would be charged. Chicken tikka is dry and no taste. Chutni or mayonnaise not included and will b provided on extra charge. Not at all recommended.

Kateel Durga Parameshwari Temple is one of the most divine and peaceful temples I have visited. Nestled in the middle of the sacred Nandini River, the temple’s location itself creates a serene and spiritual atmosphere. The darshan of Goddess Durga Parameshwari feels truly powerful and uplifting. The temple is well-organized, with neat surroundings and calm vibes that make the visit very pleasant. Annadana (free meals) served here is simple yet delicious, and the hospitality of the temple staff adds to the positive experience. Whether for spirituality, tradition, or simply to experience the cultural richness of Tulunadu, Kateel Temple is a must-visit. 🌸🙏

International airport
Airport
Mangaluru International Airport, located in Mangalore, is well-connected to the Indian Railways network, providing easy access to various South Indian cities as well as Mumbai, Goa, and Hyderabad. Over the years, the airport has shown significant improvement in its facilities and services. While some travelers have had past issues with customs officials from neighboring states, recent experiences have been more positive. The airport's scenic beauty is highly praised by visitors, with its unique tabletop design and a picturesque approach road.
One of the scenic airports in India Airport located on top of a hill, if you are not in a hurry you can drive through the roads slowly and enjoy the view while going up. Airport is pretty neat and small with easy access all across so no need to run to catch your flights. After seen massive airports, taking off from a small airport was a pleasant experience. Check in, security and so on are normal as in all airports But the crowd is less compared to bigger airports. Loved the location of the airport

Anindita D — Google review
Mangaluru International Airport has come a long way in recent years. It's now the first airport in India under the 5 million passenger category to achieve ACI Level 4 Airport Customer Experience Accreditation, demonstrating a strong commitment to passenger satisfaction. Pros: Modern Amenities: The introduction of smart cleaning robots, AI-based surveillance cameras, and the Adani OneApp enhances the overall experience. Environmental Initiatives: The airport has received the ACI Green Airports Recognition, highlighting its dedication to sustainability. Safety Standards: MIA was honored with the prestigious International Safety Award 2025, reflecting its high health and safety practices. Cons: Seating Capacity: During peak hours, especially with back-to-back domestic and international flights, seating can be limited, leading to overcrowding in waiting areas. Air Conditioning: Some passengers have reported that the air conditioning in certain areas, like the ground floor, could be more effective. Suggestions for Improvement: Seating Expansion: Increasing the number of seating arrangements in waiting areas to accommodate the growing passenger numbers. Enhanced Air Conditioning: Improving the air conditioning systems, particularly in high-traffic zones, to ensure passenger comfort. Overall: MIA is rapidly evolving into a modern regional airport, balancing growth with passenger comfort. While there are areas for improvement, the airport's commitment to innovation and service excellence is commendable.

Mangalore International Airport, located near Bajpe, about 13 km from the city center, serves as a key air hub for coastal Karnataka and parts of northern Kerala. Over the years, it has grown significantly in both domestic and international operations. Parking: The airport offers good parking facilities with a relatively organized layout. There are separate zones for two-wheelers, cars, and taxis. The parking area is well-maintained, and availability is usually not an issue, even during peak hours. While the charges are moderate, the process is smooth and convenient with clear signage guiding you to the correct zones.

Pilikula Nisargadhama, located near Mangalore, is a picturesque tourist destination that offers a blend of natural beauty and recreational attractions. The area features an artisan's village, a lake, zoo, water park, and botanical gardens. Visitors can explore tropical forests teeming with wildlife such as Capybara families and tropical birds. Traditional cottages and vibrant flower gardens add to the charm of this nature campus.
A bit far from the city but definitely worth a visit. As we were short of time could visit only zoo, planetarium, traditional house & artisans village. But there is a water park & lake as well for boating. Zoo is a must visit especially for the very exotic birds & snakes. 3d show at the planetarium was awesome. Guthu mane was a beautiful experience but photography isn't allowed inside , you have to pay for it.

Although some services/timings can be made more transparent, the sheer size of the project including the zoo, lake garden, Planetarium, heritage village and house is appreciable..The property is well maintained as well..We couldn't visit the Planetarium as it closes at 2.30 PM which was not informed while booking the tickets..Certainly recommended for a family visit, also it's best to keep aside a whole day to visit each section leisurely..Not sure about food/restaurant facilities as we did not use it

Never thought we had so much option in this area. Science park, arts village, water park, animal kingdom, lake garden, planatorian. Plan atleast 4hours for watching entire area. Spend more time as per the intrest. Buggies available for less physically fit people or for better time management. Making prior visit plan will help. Management can improve on cleanliness, clarity in announcement to make it better place to visit

It was a good experience although it lacked a few animals and some of the coops were empty or were under maintenance at the time we visited. Overall the place would be fun with friends or family. But Cafe inside the zoo was disappointing, with below average food and an overpriced menu.

Really awesome place to spend the day specially for kids at Science Center and Planetarium, the Lake and Gaden are also well maintained , the Zoo was once well kept however now many enclosure looks under maintenance and less of animals are visible. But it's the best place to spend your day with kids , the battery vehicles for movement and all in the zoo , however boogies should be outside each location with easy drop and move rather than call and wait .

Panambur Beach — a really nice beach, though it gets quite crowded in the evenings. The best time to visit is early in the morning to truly enjoy the vibe. When we went, it started raining, and the dramatic visuals of nature were both stunning and a bit scary to witness.

Located some 12 km from the city centre, situated quite inside from the main road, this beach doesn’t come close to the fame it has. It’s a dirty, badly maintained and just one-time visit type of beach. Quite spacious and good scope to develop it as a model- sea beach, Government apathy and lackadaisical attitude towards any tourism places not just beaches have made such a wonderful location in a just one cheap and third grade beach. I don’t recommend. But yes, it does have some extra activities to for enjoyment.

Seafood restaurant
Perched on a hill in Mangalore, Gajalee Sea Food is a renowned restaurant with a rich history as it was once a circuit house during the colonial era. The restaurant is celebrated for serving some of the finest seafood in the city and is highly regarded across the country. Its charming ambiance features French-style windows and white walls, creating an inviting atmosphere for diners. Visitors praise the reasonable prices, delightful cuisine, and recommend trying out the delectable seafood options.
All the food was excellent, with a nice ambience and good service. However, I suggest avoiding the chicken—I didn’t like it, as something felt off. The seafood, on the other hand, was absolutely fabulous. I’ve also added a photo of the bill for reference. In terms of cost and quantity, the pomfret tawa fry felt a bit expensive.. .
Harsha Y — Google review
Located within the high circuit house area and has a good view of the low lying surrounded areas and the road below. A good ambience with plenty of parking space along the road. Felt like more of an overpriced and slow service. Even a similar restaurant in bangalore would give a better price for the quantity or service provided here. We had ordered neer dosa along with prawns ghee roast. The ghee roast was delivered initially, later hot rice and chicken gravy and neer dosa bit later. When asked why the neer dosa was so cold, were told its made in the morning and kept. Why couldn't they serve it initially as requested by us if it was ready. The chicken pieces served were not that good and was salty.

I visited Gajalee restaurant as on 18th Jul’25 at 1:30PM IST & I ABSOLUTELY Loved it. Real and authentic Mangalorean food served with a big smile and absolute no expectations in return. A True experience of Our Mangalorean cuisine with a detailed explanation on the spice level and how the food looks and served and goes well with what? Hoax are the folks who are surprised with the bill when they couldn’t afford and claim the food and services are bad. shame on such imposters who are a disgrace to our Mangalorean community. Jeevan who severed me & the stewards Ganesh who was overlooking at my orders was so humble and quick and ensured every details are observed and served to the T. If this is read by the hotel management team, they DEFINITELY have to give a RAISE to these folks… Thank you Guys!!! Not sure why this restaurant get such low ratings but these guys really deserves a raise and the service, ambiance are crafted to the perfection. Food takes its time and if given the time to cook to that perfection the food served to you is more than heavenly and this Gajalee perfects that matter, unlike some experts a street Dharshini hotel experience and claims false comments and ratings. Let’s encourage more such restaurants & the people who give their best to ensure the CUSTOMER SATISFACTION is met at the peak.

Gajlee Seafood Restaurant is a great spot for fresh, flavorful coastal dishes. The seafood is well-prepared, portions are good, and the taste feels authentic. A nice place to enjoy local flavors if you're a seafood Ilover.

Best Sea Food Bar & Restaurant, located inside Circuit House (I also surprised to find this new hotel, got through Trip Advisor top 10 Hotels in Mangalore). Heritable style hotel . Tasted drinks, Frawns Tawa Fry and Fish Mix Biryani. Tasty and superb. Try Once.

Absolutely brilliant location& ambiance. Coming back here for lunch after almost 15 + years. But this time the food was not amazing as expected. Everything was average - ghee roast prawn looked better than it tasted, fish pulimunchi was good but I have had much better , neer dosa was heartless. The only highlight was the butter garlic squid .. spot on and really has that garlic kick.

Food & Taste 3.5⭐️| Ambience| 3.5⭐️|Price ₹₹₹| Service 3⭐️ | Parking 5⭐️| Washroom 3⭐️ Visited Gajalee during the Diwali weekday and it was too crowded. The coastal food was very tasty and authentic, but the long wait times and slow service were disappointing. The wait staff seemed completely overwhelmed, and customer service took a backseat. Prices are on the higher side, though there’s plenty of parking available.

Lovely food. Plenty of options and really well cooked. The favourite had to be the Mutton Biryani and Tandoori Lobster. Staff were incredibly friendly. Price is quite reasonable too.

Brewpub
Spindrift is a lively pub located on the top floor of Bharath Mall, offering a warm wooden decor and attracting a young crowd with its fast food, craft beers, and live DJ. The brewpub serves excellent craft beers and features well-maintained, hygienic facilities. Visitors praise the vibe, food quality, service, and cooperative staff. The menu includes outstanding options such as Belgian Wit and cocktails.
Spindrift is one of those iconic pubs in Mangalore that I keep visiting time and again! The ambience is top notch, whether you’re coming in to grab a drink at noon or chill with friends at night, it’s perfect for each occasion! The food is really great too, especially their crafted beers. Mango beer in particular is one of my favourites, it’s a perfectly refreshing beer with a hint of mango aftertaste which really adds to the taste! One of my all time favourite items is the Crispy Chicken Wings with Lemon Butter and Coriander, I cant begin with describing how much I love this dish! It’s my all time favourite and if you are into something lemony-garlicky, then it’s the one for you!

The restaurant is located inside the mall. It's very spacious and the vibe of the place is really amazing. Theres are options for AC as well as Non AC. Both look equally nice and aesthetic. Coming to the food, really yum food. The chicken as well as the veg are amazing. The only thing is we didn't find the beers which we normally find outside. They brew their own beer. They have three kinds of beer which they serve which are good. You can get a sample taste of it. Overall it's an amazing place to have food and hangout with your buddies.

A Disappointing Return to Spindrift I was genuinely looking forward to revisiting Spindrift. My last daytime visit years ago left me with fond memories of a cool and enjoyable place. However, my return after three years was an utter disappointment. The service was incredibly poor. Staff were unresponsive and inattentive, often ignoring our calls. In the two hours we were there, we only managed to place two orders, neither of which was served correctly. What was particularly frustrating was that a waiter was very prompt in coming to tell us about the last order, yet he hadn't bothered to take our order for the entire first hour we were seated. It's clear they struggle to manage when busy, and this inconsistency in service was very telling. The beers were a major letdown. They tasted bad and weren't chilled at all. To make matters worse, the tasters provided no indication of which beer we were sampling, and even those weren't cold. The "mango" beer was particularly disappointing. This definitely needs to be looked into – something is seriously wrong with their beer quality. On a positive note, the food was good, but we barely had the chance to order more. The AC wasn't working, which they blamed on the mall. While that might be true, they should have informed us before seating us, as it made for a very uncomfortable and stuffy experience. I honestly don't feel like going back. The only ray of hope is if management reads this and makes significant improvements. I truly believe this place has potential if they invest in staff training and address the issues with their beers. The initial seating process was good, and the person who helped us seemed helpful, but unfortunately, she wasn't around later to discuss our concerns. She really needs to look into these issues.

Pleasant ambience with delicious food and good service. Egg chilly, Paneer tikka, French fries peri peri are exceptionally Excellent. Music going on, large space available. Area is easy to travel, bus, auto Available as well as parking also
May T — Google review
Great ambience and seating, disappointing everything else! The food was mediocre and overpriced. The Barbeque Chicken Wings were extremely sweet. The mocktails were unimpressive and the mango wheat beer had an offputting aroma. Service was slow. The music selection was repetitive, with the same playlist on loop. I heard 'I'm Unstoppable' thrice in 1.5 hours. It felt more like the playlist was unstoppable. 😂 Overall, I'd advise against visiting this place, unless you're solely going for a drink. Even then, anyone accompanying you may leave disappointed.

Biryani restaurant
Hotel Rizk is a fantastic place for non-vegetarian delicacies located in Kottara Chowki. They offer delectable dishes such as Chicken Sukka and Chicken Pepper, which are absolutely marvelous. The food they serve is of excellent quality and comes in generous portions. It would be even better if the meat could be marinated for a longer duration, although this might not be a common practice in restaurants.
Tasted Home delivery Chicken Biryani for 50 people with curry & raita. Budget friendly. Can be booked for functions & events at home level. Taste is good.

I have taken out Chicken sukka, chicken pepper etc from this place and they have been amazing. The quality and quantity are good. However, it would be great to have the meat marinated for a longer time, but we know this isn't a norm in restaurants. Apart from the food, the staff is very cordial and helpful. I have visited the Adorable Claim Temple many times during my stay in Mangalore. It is a truly divine place. During the Navratri festival, the temple is beautifully decorated, and the Goddess is adorned with different alarakaras each day, which look absolutely stunning. I recently visited during Navratri, and the light decorations along with the Goddess’s alarakara made it a memorable experience. Though it was a bit crowded, I was blessed with a wonderful darshana. A highly recommended place to visit when you are in Mangalore!

Very famous temple and Very powerful goddess. Its best to visit the temple during early morning and evening, because it's peaceful during that time. But it's irritating at the afternoon, specially during Anna prasada. The management will be so rude that time , they don't allow you to eat peacefully at one place, they will be yelling at you all the time . They behave like the conductor in local bus , they will be keep on saying, don't stand here go there etc . 🙄 The management people specially during the Anna Prasada are the worst . Accept that the temple is great, beautiful goddess, everyone should visit.

Mahatobhara Sri Mangaladevi Temple is located at Bolar, the city of Mangalore is named after the presiding diety Temple is centerely located and well connected to the city A must-visit Temple if you’re in Mangalore. Mangala Devi temple is dedicated to Hindu Goddess Shakti / Parvati in the form of Mangaladevi, the presiding deity. [According to local legend, a princess from Malabar named Parimala or Premaladevi renounced her kingdom and became a disciple of Matsyendranath, the founder of the Nath tradition. Having converted Premaladevi to the Nath sect, Matsyendranath renamed her Mangaladevi] The temple is believed to have been built during the 9th century by Kundavarman, king of the Alupa dynasty and as per another legend, the temple is believed to have been built by Parashurama, one of the ten avatars of Hindu god Vishnu and later expanded by Kundavarman. The temple is built in Kerala style architecture, which is common in all temples in the South Indian state of Kerala and Western Ghat. The temple has a two storeyed gopura or gateway tower, with the upper storey having wooden trails covering the Kottupura. Sri Mangaladevi Temple is calm, peaceful, spiritual, and deeply rooted in our history. Daily Pooja at 6am morning, 1pm in the afternoon and evening Pooja at 8.40pm everyday except on Friday (9pm) Temple has ample space for parking in front of temple The darshan was smooth and well-managed, and the priests at the temple perform the rituals with devotion. The Mangaladevi Temple in Mangalore is a sacred and revered destination. Although there isn’t a designated parking area, we managed to park along the roadside. It is said that during the festive celebrations of Amma, the temple becomes very crowded, so we chose to visit on a quiet evening. The atmosphere was calm and peaceful, allowing us to have a pleasant and fulfilling experience.

There’s a strong sense of history here, and you can feel the importance of the temple to the local community. The whole experience leaves you feeling grounded and positive. Peaceful temple right in the city center Sharavu Ganapathi Temple is a calm and spiritual place located right near Ideal Cafe in Hampankatta. It's easily accessible and walkable from most central areas in Mangalore. The temple is neat and well maintained, and you instantly feel peaceful once inside. There are shrines for both Lord Ganesha and Lord Shiva. It’s not too crowded during regular hours, and the pujaris are kind and approachable. They also have a small parking space, which is a bonus in such a busy area. Ideal Cafe is just across the road—so it’s quite a nice combo to visit the temple and then stop for some snacks or ice cream. A great place to spend a few quiet minutes, especially if you're around the city centre.

The Sharavu Mahaganapathy Temple is one of the most well known tourist attractions that are situated in the city of Mangalore in Karnataka. This temple is well acclaimed as one of the most popular temples of the southern part of India. The name “Sharavu” is derived from “Shara” which means arrow. About eight centuries back, the “Sthalapurana” or local legendary depicts, a very powerful king, Maharaja Veerabahu of tuluva region, killed a cow by sheer mistake by shooting it with an arrow. He in reality meant to shoot the tiger which was standing besides the cow. But, his unculpable terrible sin had to be erased, for which he did install a “Shiva Linga” as per the suggestion of a great seer Sri Bharadhwaja.
Sandeep K — Google review
The Sharavu Mahaganapathi Temple, located right in the heart of Mangaluru city, is a pivotal center for the worship of Lord Ganesha. While its spiritual core lies in its dedication to Lord Shiva, the temple is overwhelmingly famous for its potent and benevolent idol of Lord Ganapathi. It is a historical treasure that plays a vital role in the cultural and religious life of the Tulu Nadu region. Deities and Spiritual Significance The temple is unique in that it houses two principal deities, though one receives far greater popular attention: Lord Ganesha (Mahaganapathi): The main sanctum and the primary draw for devotees is the idol of Lord Ganesha, revered as the remover of obstacles (Vignahartha) and the granter of wishes (Siddhi Vinayaka). Lord Shiva (Sharavu Sunder): The original and presiding deity of the temple complex is Lord Shiva, worshipped as Sharavu Sunder (The Beautiful Lord of Sharavu). The temple complex structure is dedicated to him. Goddess Durga: A separate shrine for Goddess Durga (Shakti) is also present within the complex, completing the triumvirate of deities worshipped here. History and Legend: The history of the Sharavu Temple is ancient, with local legends tracing its origins back many centuries, often connected to the early Tuluva kings. Origin of the Name 'Sharavu': The name "Sharavu" is believed to be derived from the Tulu word for "arrow" (shara). Legend suggests that a local King, while hunting or performing a ritual, shot an arrow that landed on this spot, thereby sanctifying it as a divine place for the construction of a temple. Ancient Foundation: While specific dating varies, the temple complex and its foundational Shiva shrine are considered one of the most ancient worship sites in the city. Renovation and Modern Structure: The current structure reflects later developments, showcasing the traditional architecture of the coastal region, marked by tiled roofs and intricate woodwork. The temple's prominence has grown over the centuries due to the miraculous powers attributed to the Ganesha idol. Architecture and Unique Features The temple complex, despite being in a busy city area, is architecturally impressive and spacious. The Main Sanctum: The sreekovil (sanctum) for Lord Shiva is traditionally structured, while the Mahaganapathi shrine, though integrated, draws the greatest focus.

I attended a marriage function and stayed near Mangala Stadium for five days. A friend recommended this place, which was conveniently close to where I was staying. With its proximity to my accommodation, I quickly acquired running shoes to make the most of this excellent facility. Mangala Stadium is particularly suitable for professional athletes, ensuring their satisfaction. The stadium opens at 4 am, allowing early morning activities such as jogging or exercise.

Definitely well maintained and has all the essential equipment for athletes. There's a gym available (paid), and the presence of a security guard adds to the safety. The entire area is clean and well-kept. The synthetic track is a big plus - even during rain it's not slippery, which makes it ideal for consistent training. Just a heads-up: shoes are mandatory on the track.

I went for running this morning between 7-8am and it was very nice running on the track. normal timings mentioned is 6-8am for athletes, 8-9am for regular users, but only running allowed on the synthetic track with proper shoes. the track is regular 400m, it was non slippery even with heavy downpour of rains. overall, i would recommend folks to use this for running. there is decent parking available for people driving from far away. although i didnt check with the security guard, folks who want to train regularly need to get some membership, but casual runners can just go.

St. Aloysius Chapel, completed in 1885, is a grand Christian chapel located in Mangalore. The chapel features remarkable frescos by Italian artist Antonio Moscheni that depict the life of Aloysius Gonzaga and Jesus Christ, from birth to crucifixion. Situated atop Light House Hill, it boasts impressive architecture reminiscent of the Sistine Chapel in Rome. This historical gem is a must-see for art enthusiasts and those on a spiritual journey in Mangalore.
The large Jesuit complex dedicated to St Aloysius Gonzaga (1568-91) comprises a school, college and several other buildings, among which one of the more prominent ones from the point of view of tourism is the St Aloysius Chapel. This pale blue and white church was built in 1885 under the supervision of Fr. Joseph Willy. Four years later, the Italian Jesuit Brother Antony Moscheni arrived in Mangalore and painted the interiors of the chapel. From the outside, this church doesn't look especially impressive, but we were completely bowled over by what we saw inside - my husband, in fact, was comparing this to the Sistine Chapel! Moscheni, of course, is no Michelangelo, but the intricacy and the scale of the decoration are really very similar. Almost every square inch of the interiors - ceiling, walls, everything - is covered with detailed paintings of the life of Christ; the parables, verses from the Bible, the stations of the cross, and the life of St Aloysius. No photography is allowed inside the chapel, therefore there are no pictures with my review, but if you like Christian art, do not miss this.

✨ A Timeless Treasure on Lighthouse Hill – My Experience at St Aloysius Chapel, Mangaluru Nestled atop the serene Lighthouse Hill, the St Aloysius Chapel is not just a place of worship—it’s a canvas of devotion, history, and breathtaking artistry. Stepping through its regal entrance, I felt as though I had crossed into a sacred gallery where every wall whispered stories of faith and craftsmanship. 🎨 Art That Speaks to the Soul The interiors are a visual symphony. Painted by Italian Jesuit Antonio Moscheni in the late 19th century, the frescoes cover nearly every inch of the chapel—walls, ceilings, arches—with scenes from the life of Christ and St Aloysius Gonzaga. The detail is astonishing, and the colors, though aged, still glow with reverence. 🕊️ Atmosphere of Peace and Awe Despite being in the heart of Mangaluru, the chapel exudes a quietude that’s rare. The air inside feels hushed, as if the paintings themselves demand silence. Photography is not allowed, which only deepens the sense of sacredness and encourages you to be fully present. 🏛️ A Museum Worth Exploring Adjacent to the chapel is a small museum that’s a hidden gem. It houses centuries-old coins, stamps, and artifacts contributed by Jesuit priests over generations. It’s compact but rich in stories, and you can explore it in under an hour. 👣 A Personal Reflection If you’re in Mangaluru and have an eye for detail, a heart for history, or simply a love for places that stir the soul, St Aloysius Chapel is a must-visit. It’s not just a landmark—it’s an experience that lingers.

Beautiful chapel with brilliant frescoes. The blue and white exterior is most mesmerising. Photography inside is not permitted which is good. This encourages visitors to spend few moments in silence and pray with devotion, a value grossly missing in todays social media savvy times. Good luck to the management team in maintaining the sanctity of this revered space.
Jwala M — Google review
Can’t praise the chapel adequately. Our tour driver recommended a visit & since we were ahead of schedule, we dropped in with no notion of what to expect. The building is beautiful, but the exquisite frescos covering the walls & ceiling were the high point. We have travelled all over the world & seen some of the best frescoes and I’d say these compare with the best. The additional charm is that no one is rushing you & the visit is free. However, I would recommend a donation for upkeep of the frescoes

The collection of the Jesuits from many centuries at the Aloysium is a must see when you travel to Mangalore. They have a variety of displays from the images I've shared like the whale skeleton and tortoise shells. Additionally there is a huge stamp & coin collection, sea shells, vintage camera from many decades and a much more. The Kadri Shree Manjunatha Temple, located in Mangalore, is a stunning Hindu temple with a rich history dating back to the 10th or 11th century. The temple underwent significant transformation during the 14th century, evolving into a solid stone structure. It houses an ancient idol of Lord Manjunathaswamy and features exquisite black granite sculptures and copper roof shikharas.
🌟 Kadri Shree Manjunatha Temple, Mangaluru is a serene and spiritually uplifting destination that beautifully blends history, architecture, and divinity 🕉️. From the moment you arrive, the scent of incense sticks 🌸, the sound of temple bells 🔔, and chants echoing in the background 🎶 create a deeply calming aura. The main deity, Lord Manjunatha (a form of Lord Shiva), sits in a yogic posture and is made of exquisite bronze, considered one of the oldest idols in South India 🛕. The powerful expression of the idol is enough to move any devotee. Apart from the main sanctum, you will find shrines dedicated to Lord Ganesha, Goddess Durga, Lord Subramanya, and the Navagrahas 🌟 — each idol carved beautifully with divine energy. Outside the sanctum, there's a sacred pond called Pushkarini, where many devotees take a holy dip before entering the temple 💧. The water feels cool and pure, adding to the spiritual atmosphere. Despite being crowded, the temple is incredibly well maintained. Clean surroundings, proper footwear counters 👣, and ample water facilities 🚰 make it easy for everyone to enjoy the visit, including senior citizens 👵👴. One of the highlights is attending the mangal aarti 💥. The energy during the rituals is mesmerizing — the sound of conches 🐚, rhythmic bells 🔔, and Vedic chants 📿 elevate the whole experience to something truly spiritual. You can also find peaceful corners to sit, meditate 🧘, or simply absorb the divine energy around you. A fun part of the visit is the friendly monkeys 🐒 roaming around the temple. They’re playful and often entertaining, but it's smart to be cautious with food or offerings 🍌. Their presence adds a unique charm to the overall experience. 📸 For photography lovers, this temple is a visual delight. From the reddish stone walls and golden temple top shining in the sunlight 🌄 to the intricate carvings and brass lamps inside, every angle offers a perfect shot. Morning and evening are the best times for photos. Each corridor and pillar tells a story of devotion, history, and craftsmanship 🛕✨. Outside the temple, you’ll find stalls offering prasadam and tasty local snacks like vadas, banana chips 🍌, and coconut water 🥥. The temple’s own prasadam was simple yet fulfilling — something that touches both the stomach and the soul 💖. 👍 Cleanliness was top-notch. Volunteers and temple authorities deserve appreciation for maintaining such a busy place with such discipline 🌿. There are hand wash points, clean restrooms 🚽, and seating areas too. Overall, Kadri Shree Manjunatha Temple is a must-visit for anyone in or around Mangaluru — whether you are a spiritual seeker, history lover, or cultural explorer 📚. The divine vibes, the architectural marvel, and the overall peaceful experience make it one of the most memorable temples I have ever visited 🕉️💫.

Kadri Manjunatha Temple – Timeless Spirituality Amid Nature’s Grace : The main deity is Lord Manjunatha (Shiva), enshrined in an ancient stone sanctum with an impressive eight-foot bronze idol. Among its treasures is the Lokeshwara idol, one of South India’s oldest and finest bronze images. Sub-shrines for Durga, Subramanya (Ayyappa), and Ganapati add to its spiritual charm. Temple Timings (may vary on festival days) Morning: 5:00 AM – 2:00 PM Evening: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM Sacred Waters & Gomukh Ganapati A highlight is the Gomukh Ganapati, where pure spring water flows naturally from a cow-shaped spout (gomukh) all year round. This crystal-clear water—used for abhishekam of the Shiva Linga and collected by devotees like sacred Ganges water—is believed to cleanse both body and soul. It also feeds the seven holy ponds (Kundas) and the shrines of Lord Manjunatha’s divine siblings. Shani Pooja – A Special Offering The Shani Pooja, dedicated to Lord Shani (Saturn), draws devotees seeking relief from Saturn’s malefic effects and blessings of balance and discipline. The solemn chants and atmosphere bring a deep sense of calm. Rituals & Festivals:- Daily worship fills the air with Vedic hymns and the fragrance of camphor. Kadri Jatre (temple fair): usually in January around Makara Sankranti, with grand processions and cultural programs. Kadri Kambala (buffalo race): typically held during the winter Kambala season (Nov–Feb, depending on their lunar calender) in the paddy fields near the temple. Whether we visit as a pilgrim, a history lover, or a traveler seeking peace, the experience stays with us long after we leave the temple.

Very beautiful and one of the most popular Lord Shiva temples in manglore.🙏🏻 The place is really calm, quiet and peaceful . Morning times are the best to visit the temple to experience the calmness. Right from entering the gate of temple we feel as though we have stepped into a place surrounded by nature 🌿 and enchanted calmness. Here Lord Ganesha , Goddess Parvati , Lord Ayyappa and few other deities are also worshipped. This temple has lots of levels At the ground floor you can see the main deities which I mentioned above. When you climb stairs to firt floor you will reach a place with a big rectangle water tank divided into amall square shaped tanks. There are folklore legends that these water tanks hold medicinal values and taking a dip in these water tanks cure many diseases. The water in these tanks is filled by the great Kaashi Bhagirathi River. It flows out through an opening under Lord Ganesha temple. People can drink that theertham from there as well fill bottle to carry the theertham home. This same theertham can be filled in small brass vessels near to a stairs and we can do jal archana by our own hands to Lord Shiva which have to again climb few stairs to reach the Shiva lingam.🙏🏻 There is a big statue of Lord Hanuman if you climb little more further. The view from here is mesmerizing. There are a lot of steps to go up and down. So if you are planning to visit only the main deities then it's at the ground floor which you can reach by climbing only a few steps. But rest all the other areas have a lot of climbing to do. The experience was really awesome with the blend of nature and the place really keeps attracting me back.🙏🏻😊 Must visit temple 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Kadri Manjunatha Temple, nestled in the heart of Mangaluru, is one of the oldest temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. Believed to date back to the 11th century, its architecture bears the imprint of regional dynasties and offers a glimpse into the social, cultural, and religious life of the time. Over the centuries, the temple evolved into a vibrant center for community gatherings, extending its role beyond spiritual worship. The temple complex is enriched by natural springs, laterite caves, and sacred water tanks. At the rear, an elevated spring known as Gomukha emerges from the hillside. Local belief holds that its waters originate from the Bhageerathi River in Kashi, earning it the revered name Kashi Bhageerathi Theertha. From Gomukha, the water flows into nine adjacent ponds of varying sizes, each adding to the temple’s serene and mystical ambiance.

Kadri Manjunath temple also known as Kadri Manjunatha temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva in Mangalore, Karnataka, is one of the oldest Shiva temples. Hence, this historic temple is one of the must-visit temples in Kadri, Mangalore, for devotees of Lord Shiva. As per Kadri Manjunath temple history, the temple is really old as it was built in the 10th or 11th century and was transformed into a stone structure in the 14th century. Hindu and Buddhist histories intertwine with the temple. People practised Buddhism until the 10th century CE. The Nath cult was a mix of Hindu and Buddhist traditions and saw a decline, after which the Buddhist temples were converted into Hindu places of worship. Furthermore, as per the words of poet and writer Govinda Pai, ‘Manjunatha’ refers to Lord Shiva and ‘Kadri’ is a part of Kadri Vihara, a Buddhist monastery belonging to the Vajrayana cult. Kadri Manjunath temple has references in mythology related to Parashurama, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. After slaying the Kshatriyas, Parashurama prayed and appealed to Lord Shiva for a place to live. Lord Shiva directed him to seek shelter in a new place called the Kadrivana. Paying heed to the Lord’s words, Parashurama, after an immense struggle with the ocean king, secured the place that he occupied near the Kadri hills to set up the Kadrivana for Lord Manjunatha. Consequently, the place became the abode of Lord Manjunatha, where devotees now flock to the place for the Lord’s blessings. Kadri hills are also mentioned in the “Bharadwaja Samhita,” a Sanskrit text. Hence, Kadri was famous for being the abode of Lord Manjunatha (Lord Shiva) in ancient times. The presiding deity of Kadri Manjunath temple is Lord Manjunatheshwara, worshipped as a Shiva Linga. There are also shrines dedicated to Lord Ganesha and Goddess Durga in the temple. Furthermore, there are beautiful bronze idols of Lokeshwar, Avalokiteshwar, Veda Vyasa, Machendranath, Gorakanath, Shringinath, Buddha etc in the temple. The Lokeshwar idol is one of the oldest bronze idols in India. Also, the Saptha Mantras became the Saptha Theerthas or the seven ponds. Gomukha, a natural spring, is found in an elevated location near the temple. According to popular belief, the water from the spring is that of River Bhageerathi in Kashi; hence, it acquired the name Kashi Bhageerathi Theertha. Before entering the temple, people dip in the nine ponds, which contain water from the natural spring. There is also a Shiva Linga further up, where people fill vessels with water from the natural spring and perform Abhishekam with their own hands. There is also a shrine dedicated to Shani Dev. The annual festival of Jathra Mahothsava, held for nine days during January, begins on the Makara Sankranti. It is celebrated with pomp and religious fervour. The distance from Mangalore to Kadri Manjunath temple is 5.3 KM, and Kadri Manjunatha temple is about 346 KM from Bangalore. By Air Mangalore airport is the nearest airport, which is about 12.4 KM from Kadri. From there, you can hire a cab to the Kadri Manjunatha temple. By Train Mangalore Railway Station is the nearest station to Kadri, which is about 3.5 km away. From there, one can take a cab to the Kadri Manjunath temple. Mangalore Railway Station is well connected to all the southern states via rail. By Road Mangalore is well connected to the other major cities by road. Numerous KSRTC buses ply in the area, making it convenient for tourists. Tourists can also hire a cab to reach the Kadri Manjunatha temple. To conclude, the Kadri Manjunatha temple is a must-visit for devotees of Lord Shiva.

This is a must visit temple if you are in the vicinity of Mangalore. It dates all the way back to the 10th-11th centuries. There is a fresh water spring the source of which is supposedly the Bhagirathi river in Kashi, hence considered very holy. There are also caves that date back to 4-6th century AD. They are purported to be visited by the Pandavas.

Visiting the Temple in the morning is such a calming experience. The cool breeze, the faint sound of temple bells, and the early sunlight just sets a peaceful tone for the day. The place feels really pure and quiet at that hour, away from the usual crowd. The architecture beautifully blends old-world charm with spiritual energy. There are also smaller shrines around, and the natural springs near the temple are believed to have holy water. The surroundings, the small pond, and the greenery around the hill just add to the charm. One of the best parts is pouring water over the Shivling. There’s something very soothing about it.

One of best temples of Mangaluru. A must visit and enjoy the yummy anna prasadam during the lunch. I was amazed to see many school and college kids in their uniform at the lunch to enjoy the free and tasty food they provide everyday to the devotees. Please note wear some kind of socks during summer as it will be gruesomely difficult to walk on the stone floor in hot weather.

Udupi Sri Krishna Bhavan is a renowned and historic vegetarian restaurant located in Udupi, Karnataka. The restaurant is known for its traditional meals served on banana leaves, offering unlimited servings at an affordable price. The menu includes dishes like Rasam, Sambar, vegetable curry, papad, pickle, buttermilk and curd. The dining experience is simple yet authentic with quick service and a welcoming staff.
Best authentic leaf meals in town! I visited this hotel for lunch, which was very good. 70Rs/meals, they serve more rice on demand. Upkari and buttermilk were top notch. If you need curd, you will have to pay extra. The ambience is really nice, there's plenty of seating arrangements. They also have lodging facilities, but the building is very old.

My review and rating is about lodge. The room in which I boarded is full of bed mites and bedsheets are also not clean that's why I am giving this rating, later I changed the room there also bed mites are there but very less. The location is good, it is in prime location, it cost Rs.450 (including GST)for 24 hours. The toilets (only indian style) and bathrooms are also clean.

One of the oldest hotels in Mangalore. They serve authentic udupi style pure vegetarian meals on banana leaf. The menu was simple and delicious. They serve two types of palyas, pickle,Rasam, sambar and butter milk. You get boiled rice and white rice. They charge an extra 10 rupees for a cup of curd. All the items were unlimited except butter milk.

This is an old and traditional restaurant located about 1.5 km from Mangalore Central Railway Station, near Srinivasa University and other colleges. Food & Taste Meals cost ₹70 and curd is around ₹10 — very affordable compared to other restaurants. The food is very tasty, and the lemon pickle served with the meals is especially flavorful. Ambience & Cleaning The restaurant has an old-world charm, reminiscent of traditional homes. Cleaning and maintenance could be improved. Parking & Location Parking is available in front of the restaurant. Overall ✅ A budget-friendly, tasty, and traditional restaurant. Great for a quick, affordable meal, though cleaning could use some attention.

If you are looking for an authentic, budget-friendly South Indian vegetarian meal in Mangaluru — especially in the Udupi-style banana-leaf format — Udupi Sri Krishna Bhavan is a very good choice. The food is the star. If you require luxury, modern interiors or a wide variety of fusion dishes, you might need to look elsewhere. Served on Banana Leaf and prized app Rs.70 with additional charge for curds, either boiled or white rice is served accompanied by papad, salt, pickle, two veg side dishes, sambar and rasam. All are unlimited and you can eat to your full if you have big appetite. The building is as old as the hill and kept as it is since generations but patronisation of the customers is because of its hearty meal.

Sizzler Ranch Lal Bagh is a beloved dining destination that has maintained its charm and flavors over the years, reminiscent of its glory from 15 years ago. The garlic dip remains a standout favorite, while the menu boasts an array of delectable options like shashlik, exotic vegetable sizzlers (both mutton and chicken), and hearty KFC-style dishes for those with larger appetites. Guests rave about the refreshing floats that complement the spicy sizzlers perfectly.
We ordered the couple of mocktails, Manchow soup, a chicken starter, and one of the chicken sizzlers, and we were thoroughly impressed. The food quality was great, with generous portions that left us satisfied. The service was excellent, making our dining experience smooth and enjoyable. There’s a wide variety of items on the menu, offering plenty of options to choose from. The ambiance was pleasant, creating a comfortable atmosphere. Overall, a great dining experience!

I came here after a long time and ordered French onion soup, exotic veg sizzler, chicken satellite, peach iced tea, and ginger ale. The French onion soup was brilliant, the caramelized onion with a hint of garlic was a refreshing change from the mainstream soups usually served. The exotic veg sizzler was also splendid, with fresh vegetables and a BBQ sauce that struck a good balance of savoury and sweet. The chicken satellite was a letdown as the chicken was not fresh and tasted off, though otherwise the dish was fine. The peach iced tea and ginger ale were refreshing. The service was good. Overall, it was a pleasant experience except for the chicken.

I tried the Oyster Sauce Chicken Sizzler. At first glance, it looked appealing and the portion size was generous, which was a plus. However, the taste didn’t match the presentation. The flavors were flat, the seasoning felt off, and overall it was less than average in terms of satisfaction. Good quantity, but the dish needs improvement in taste to be worth recommending.

The room was filled with the smoke from all the sizzlers. It was nostalgic for my family and me. We were visiting this place after more than a decade. It was great family time with excellent sizzlers.

We had Manchow and onion soup. Both were good. Onion soup was subtle and nice. Lotus stem starter was fabulous but quantity was less. Sizzlers were good and ample. They are centred around cutlet or paneer. Service was okayish. We had to ask them multiple times to serve and yet they failed to comply. Ambience is ok and space is a bit limited and it can get smokey as ventilation is not so great.

This place is still the same as it was 15 years ago. I love that places like this are still thriving and giving the same flavors it used to. The garlic dip is still as amazing as it was. I don't know if I want to cost my sizzler with it or have bath with it. Always start with the shashlik, satellite and the. The exotice vegetable sizzler(mutton or chicken). The KFC one and mutton chops are for people with a big appetite. The floats are really nice and are a good pair with a nice spicy sizzler. It's also amazing for vegetarians, start with the Italian sizzler and ofcourse, top everything off with an egg. Have a good one.

Neer dosa is just Yum! And at a very affordable price at 36 rupees. Its served with some sweet delicious mix which gives it a sweet flavor. The masala dosa here is tasty but it's not that special like it's like any masala dosa which is served with sambar and chutney and the masala. The food was on Time, The staff were kind. The restaurant is air conditioned. And well sanitized! The vadas here are nice and the puri koorma here are of large size and the taste is ok. The dahi vada served here is not bad neither too good and would take some hardship for a single person to finish one plate of dahi vada as it's fattening and sweet. I would recommend not to order dahi vada after or before breakfast. The Set Dosa is wholesome , its good n is enough to fill your hunger n great way to have a breakfast in the morning. The kurma in the puri kurma is very masalaidaar , n very tasty n the puri served are big in size.

Classic place to enjoy sizzlers, starters, beverages and much more @ Sizzler Ranch. We witnessed a similar good exemplary service with delicious food. Lunch order followed by chicken satellite sizzler which was quite filling, generous portion and damn tasty. Kung Pao chicken starter was the supreme dish to match the amazing lunch. Drinks like chilli guava was too chilling and spicy feeling making it really worth the order. Last but not the least litchi vanilla float equally contributed to the immense joy of our day. Tasted and experienced many sizzler restaurants, but the apex restaurant named Sizzler Ranch is unimaginable. Love you to the core ❤️

I was extremely disappointed with my recent visit from this restaurant. I found a hair in my food and it was very clearly a coarse short strand likely from a man. Sadly I saw it much later. This is not only off putting but raises serious concerns about the hygiene and cleanliness standards being followed in the kitchen. When you’re dining out or ordering food basic cleanliness is the least you expect. I genuinely hope the management takes this seriously and ensures better hygiene practices going forward. Until then im hesitant to return or recommend this place to anyone.

My sisters and I enjoyed a lovely, quiet dinner in town, opting for the ever-reliable @SizzlerRanch. It’s a classic choice that never fails to deliver. We started with their new Hotcha Chicken, inspired by Korean flavors. The dish was a delightful surprise, with tender, expertly marinated chicken infused with subtle gochujang notes that paired beautifully with the rich, melted cheese. Each bite was a harmonious blend of spice and creaminess. We ordered two sizzlers: The Taiwanese Sizzler, another new addition, was a standout. The tangy sauce complemented the noodles perfectly, while the seared chicken thigh, marinated with care, delivered delicate yet bold flavors. A soft, gooey egg crowned the dish, elevating the experience to something truly special. The Spicy Chicken Shashlik, our longtime favorite, lived up to its reputation. The chicken breast was tender and juicy, coated in a light, flavorful sauce that didn’t overpower. The steamed vegetables were vibrant and paired wonderfully with their signature cheesy mashed potatoes. To drink, we chose the peach iced tea and watermelon mojito, both refreshingly sweet and perfectly suited to Mangalore’s humid evenings. @thesybaritechic 📸insta

Sizzler Ranch is a well-known spot for sizzlers in Mangalore, and I visited with high expectations. I opted for the Chicken Hotcha, also known as Korean Cheese Chicken- expecting bold, spicy flavours and a generous cheesy twist. Unfortunately, the dish didn’t quite live up to the hype. The marination lacked punch, the cheese felt underwhelming, and overall, it didn’t feel like good value for the portion size- slightly overpriced for what it offered. That said, the ambience was lovely and definitely a highlight. I’d love to visit again and try something else from their menu- hopefully, a better hit next time!

Absolutely loved the experience at Sizzler Ranch! The sizzlers were served piping hot with generous portions—highly recommend the Pepper Chicken and Seafood Mixed Grill. The sizzler ice cream dessert was a fun surprise and tasted amazing. The ambience is cozy and clean, ideal for both family dinners and casual outings. Service was prompt and staff were polite and helpful throughout. Prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity you get. If you're in Mangalore and craving something hearty and different, this place is a must-visit!

We ordered Barbecue Wings Mac & Cheese and 3 Sizzler’s. Their Barbecue Wings were good and Mac & Cheese was amazing but unfortunately their Sizzler’s were below average and the main problem was their were to many fries so much so that it was tasting like loaded fries more than a sizzler but their ambiance was really good. Overall if you’re looking for a place with great ambience for a meal then it’s a good option but if you’re looking for great sizzler’s then you could be disappointed.
Sujay K — Google review
I had the pleasure of dining at Sizzler Ranch, and I must say, the restaurant’s stunning interior and ambience left a lasting impression on me. The moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere that immediately set the tone for a pleasant dining experience. While the food was good, it didn’t quite reach the level of greatness I had hoped for. The dishes were flavorful and well-prepared, but they didn’t leave me with that wow factor that I often look for in a dining experience. Nevertheless, I did appreciate the variety on the menu and the attention to presentation. The service was attentive and courteous, and the staff was knowledgeable about the menu, helping us make informed choices. Their warmth and professionalism added to the overall positive experience. If you’re looking for a restaurant with a fantastic ambiance and a decent selection of dishes, this place is worth a visit. It’s an ideal spot for a relaxed evening out with friends or a romantic dinner. While the food might not be mind-blowing, the ambiance more than makes up for it, making it a delightful place to enjoy a pleasant meal. Went to the Sizzler Restaurant for the second time, and it was awesome once again! The place feels nice and cozy, and the food smelled amazing. I ordered a sizzling dish, and it looked and tasted fantastic. The flavors were perfect, and everything seemed really fresh. The people there were super nice too, making sure I had a great time. It's great to find a place that's consistently good, and I can't wait to go back for more!

Darshan R — Google review
Having just visited Polali Rajarajeshwari Temple, I'm still feeling the peaceful vibes of the place. The temple has this incredible history that's both ancient and fascinating. They say it was built way back in the 8th century by a king named Suratha, who had lost his kingdom and sought refuge here. The most unique part is the main deity, Shri Rajarajeshwari. Unlike most temples, her idol is made of a special clay with medicinal properties, which is just amazing to think about. The connection to Kateel, another famous temple nearby, is also interesting. They are both considered to be among the "Sapta Durgas" or seven powerful centers of the goddess in the Tulunadu region. While each temple has its own distinct story and deity (Kateel's is Durga Parameshwari), they are part of a larger network of worship dedicated to the divine feminine in this area. It really gives you a sense of the shared spiritual culture of the region. It is suggested to visit both the temples as they are considered sisters. Overall, it's a place with deep history, a unique main idol, and a strong connection to the other sacred places in the area. A truly special experience.

Shri Rajarajeshwori temple in Polali has a great history. Devotional Polali Temple has a beautiful stone and wooden carvings looks amazing. Few common requirements for devotees like garding or trees around temple is definitely missing ,visiting in the afternoon specially in summer is too hot to handle. Temple area doesn’t have any clear proper restrooms, you have to pay some amount to use the restrooms but conditions of restrooms are filthy, very dirty. Free food is available during lunch time again they don’t have a proper sitting facilities. Overall awesome, beautiful temple to visit in the evening, or early morning.

I have visited this temple many times. This photo was taken when I visited on Lalitha Panchami day❤️✨ On this special day, the sarees that devotees have offered to the deity throughout the year are distributed to the devotees. On this occasion, thousands of devotees visit the temple, and it is considered a very special day of Navaratri🌈✨

great place to visit, especially for children! I visited only the zoo section of Pilikula Biological Park, and it was a wonderful experience. The zoo is well maintained and home to a wide variety of animals — from fascinating mammals to reptiles. The environment is peaceful and ideal for families. There’s ample free parking space, which is very convenient. They also offer a “Pilikula Darshana” electric vehicle service that takes you around different spots, including inside the zoo (for an additional fee apart from the entry ticket). I visited on a weekday and found it pleasantly calm, with no crowd — perfect for enjoying a relaxed walk and getting a clear view of the wildlife. Overall, it’s a great place to spend a few hours connecting with nature and learning about animals.
Shashank B — Google review
Visited Pilikula Biological Park recently. Unfortunately, the experience wasn’t great — the planetarium was closed early around 2:30 PM, and several animal enclosures were empty. Around 30% of the animals were missing from their areas, and the surroundings weren’t very clean, with a noticeable bad smell. The place needs better maintenance and care. Could be a nice spot if improved, but currently not worth the visit

It's a beautiful place....for ones who want to be with nature. Don't go while they r feeding animals ...missed the lions and tiger Oz it was feeding time (4.00 - 5.00)

Good to visit this place if you are travelling towards Mangalore. Its having many attractions where you have to follow the timing for the planetarium and the rest of places can be visited till 6pm. There is a amusement park for which we have to take extra ticket (550 per person) and better to start it from Morning to enjoy fully. There is 250 rupees(for all activities excluding amusement park) of ticket price for adult and 150 for Children Below 15 years. Overall we need 1 full day to cover this Park
Nithin K — Google review
It was a nice experience. Reached around 11.30am on a Friday and people were not there . We could peacefully visit all the places. But it was better to go after the rainy season, because most of tha animals were sitting inside the cage. The lion, bear and tiger were inside the cage and we couldn't able to see them ☹️. The whole place consists of planetarium, regional science center, artisan village, lake garden, botanical garden and biological park. Individual tickets are available for each place but it is better to take the combo ticket of Rs.220/- ( if you have time to visit all the places). Buggy service wasn't available (outside the zoo connecting all the places ) due to rain. Personal vehicles are allowed inside. We took buggy service inside the park which costed around 300/- (2 adults and 1 child). I was amazed by the no: of each species. Really liked the snake house. There were 5 or 6 pythons, cobras and many more. 10 or 12 crocodiles, 6 or 7 hippos etc. I have never seen these many no: of a particular species in a zoo. It felt like we were walking inside a forest. A small snacks center was there at the exit. We had some fresh juices, Maggie and sev puri. It was average.

Pilikula Biological Park: Karnataka's Hidden Gem Zoo! Pilikula Biological Park is a large, exceptionally well-maintained zoo near Mangalore city (with a bus stop nearby). It boasts a very diverse and extensive variety of birds, reptiles, and animals, all kept in clean, spacious enclosures that mimic natural habitats. The entire park is excellently planned with clear signages, clean walking paths, and ample shaded resting spots. I believe it's easily the next best zoo after Mysore Zoo in Karnataka! It's rarely crowded, offers great value for money, and provides a pleasant long walk. Plan your visit as it closes around 5:30 PM.

Good place but the maintenance is pooor, some animals are missing, and birds are seems to be suffering, if you visit zoo or planetarium dont use buggy service its waste of cost, apart from 3d nothing informative boring time waste but science park and the auditorium was fun esp. for kids

A nice experience with kids for the price — they really enjoyed it. Good option for a half-day afternoon outing. There are two pools, one for kids and another for smaller children. The rides are simple, comfortable, and only water-based. Very little crowd, possibly because it was a weekday. Zoo and boating are nearby, and the location is beautiful. The rain made it even more special — we enjoyed a lot.

Sultan Bathery, also known as Sultans Battery, is a significant historical site in Mangalore. Built by Tipu Sultan in the 18th century, this watchtower was strategically positioned to monitor naval activity. Made of black stones, it housed chambers used for storing weapons and offers stunning views of the Arabian Sea and lush surroundings from its top. Additionally, visitors can access Thannirbhavi beach from here via ferry service which operates regularly until 7pm.
Sultan Battery is a decent quick stop for sunset chasers If you’re looking for peaceful evenings by the water with a dash of history, it's worth a visit

Sadly users have scribbled walls with love notes - note : its closed in the night 2- Seatings near water deck sunrise ,sunset or just for calming your soul (after port to the right ) 3- the beach , via boat - which is at the end (In beach u can either enjoy in water ,sitting in rocks/ sand or walkway to beach were u have many number of trees -can rest underneath the shade ) Note : there is eating spot to enjoy quick snack (before climbing the boat to beach ) One of the calmest beach of mangalore

Sultan Battery is a must-visit heritage spot in Mangalore! The structure may be small, but it holds a lot of history. The view of the river and the boats passing by is amazing, especially during sunset. There’s also a small beach nearby. Perfect place to relax and click photos!

Back in the day, this little spot was where everyone came to relax and take in the stunning view of the waters, with the sun setting beautifully over the Arabian Sea. It still carries that same calm charm. You’ll often find a few friendly furry friends here too, wagging their tails like they’ve known you forever. A perfect place to unwind and soak in Mangalore’s quiet beauty.
Amrita N — Google review
The town of Mangalore saw many ups and downs and switching between overlords, especially during the 18th century. In 1763, Haider Ali had captured the town and built a dockyard here; five years later the British ousted him, but in 1794 Haider Ali's son Tipu Sultan was able to defeat the British and take back Mangalore. While he was in control of Mangalore, Tipu built a low, squat watch tower here, overlooking the Gurpur River. Guns were mounted here, in what is obviously a defensive fortification, even though it's not very large. It's known as Sultan Battery or Sulthan Batheri. It takes only a couple of minutes to see this battery; you climb some thirty steps or so, and you are there, where there is really nothing much to see except the view of the river beyond. No entrance fees are charged for Sultan Battery.

Tannirbhavi Beach, accessible by bridge or ferry from the Gurupura river, is a tranquil and popular destination known for its vast shores and captivating atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy activities such as camel riding, swimming, and surfing while basking in the golden sands and azure blue waters. The beach offers a paradisiacal retreat ideal for relaxation, with stunning views during sunrise and sunset.
It was such a delight to visit this beach. The water access was closed as we were visiting at the heels of the monsoon but the sand was clean and the sunset was beautiful. The blue flag beach project infra created under the smart City - was one of its kind that I have seen in India and the civic amenities offered were really good. They recently launched and it would make this beach the 13th blue certified beach in India. The atmosphere was quite lively while maintaining the serenity of the place

You can feel the might of the great sea here. Amazing. Mind blowing. The beach is enclosed in both sides sadly, and even in the front due to it being monsoon so not much to do but sit and stare. If you are lucky you can even spot a few peacocks. Note: They charge you Rs. 100 per 1.5 hours for the umbrella chairs, the non-umbrella benches are free.

Tannirbhavi Beach in Mangalore is a hidden gem for anyone looking for peace away from the hustle of the city. The shoreline is wide, clean, and far less commercialized than most popular beaches, making it perfect for long walks, sunsets, or simply sitting by the waves. The sea breeze here feels refreshing, and the golden hour views are absolutely worth the visit. What I loved most is the calm and uncrowded vibe—you can actually hear the sound of the waves without constant noise around. However, since there aren’t too many shops or eateries nearby, it’s better to carry your own snacks and water. Also, swimming can be tricky because of the strong currents. Overall, Tannirbhavi Beach is a beautiful spot to unwind, capture stunning pictures, and experience coastal Karnataka in its raw, natural form. 🌊✨

Lived up to the expectations of a Blue Flag award. To get here, you take a short ferry ride from near Sultan Bathery across the Gurpur river, followed by a quick 400-meter walk. The month I was here (July), the tides were high and barriers along the shore kept us from entering the waters. Such a beautiful spot to spend time at. There are mini cafes at the entrance where you can grab a quick bite during your visit. Sorry I don’t have the best pictures!

Tannirbhavi Beach which is a blue flag beach awarded by Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), India for that meet high standards in water quality, environmental management, safety, and sustainable tourism. Essentially, it signifies a beach that is clean, well-managed, and environmentally responsible. The beach was very gorgeous, neat and I really fall in love with the beach. Since its rainy season and lot of high tides around in Arabian sea, Beach management asked visitors not to enter into the sea and they put barricades around the sea. Worth visiting.

A Hidden Gem – Thanneer Bhavi Beach, Mangalore Thanneer Bhavi Beach is truly one of Mangalore’s hidden treasures. Just a 30-minute drive from the heart of the city, this beach offers peace, beauty, and a deep sense of calm. What surprised us the most was that we were the only people there! It felt like a private beach. The place is clean, well-maintained, and full of natural beauty. The sand is soft, and there are so many beautiful sea shells—kids will love collecting them. The colours of the sky during sunset were just magical. The photos and videos we took don’t even do justice to how stunning it looked in person. Historically, Thanneer Bhavi has been known as a peaceful riverside spot, and over time, it became a calm coastal beach visited mostly by locals. Unlike the more popular beaches, this one is quiet and serene—perfect for those who want to enjoy nature without the crowd. If you’re visiting Mangalore and want to experience the raw beauty of the sea, Thanneer Bhavi Beach is a must-visit. You’ll come back feeling refreshed and connected to nature.

Lord Surya(Sun God) is worshipped too during the festival.

Park
Tagore Park, also known as Light House Hill garden, offers a serene setting with a marvelous view of the sea and sailing boats. It's a nice spot for a mini outing in the evening, despite being somewhat neglected. The park provides benches for visitors to relax and enjoy the surroundings. While it may not be suitable for walking due to its steps, the location is superb with nearby attractions like Idgah Masjid, St. Aloysius Church, and City Centre Mall.
It's a small yet beautiful park in the city centre. The atmosphere was peaceful and felt relaxing.

Nice Park for mini outing during evening. Though not well maintained but peaceful and little green. Many benches are available to sit and chit chat. Not suitable for walking purpose as it is step park. During evening time there is one panipuri wala outside park gate. Park closes around 8:00. I like lightning they do in evening. Though park is very noisy with traffic on hill road. Still you enjoy.. Location is superb. One side city centre Mall, another side idah gah and st Aloysius college. These days it is under construction, ( pavements ) Free Parking available outside park

It looks inviting ...but opening hours are not inviting at all. And now that a gigantic apartment complex has sprung up so close this park seems ugly and miserable. It urgently needs a complete cleaning and rehabilitation of the sculptures ,benches, lights and addition of various fast growing plants and trees to regain some intimacy ,and vegetal comfort ; and the vibrancy of yesteryear. Once known for the beautiful sunsets and sunrises, the Tagore Park is now dull and less visited due to the negligence of the authorities! Have some memories in this park during my childhood. The sunsets and sunrises of this park are now lost in the pages of history, all thanks to the skyscraper which blocks the magnification view from this park which even blocks the lighthouse which once guided the mariners to the coast.

Milagres Church, located in the Hampankatta area, is a historic Roman Catholic church in Mangalore. Built in 1680 by Bishop Thomas de Castro, it underwent reconstruction and was completed in 1784. The church is renowned for its century-old architecture, historical significance, and religious importance. Despite the original structure being demolished by Tipu Sultan, remnants like the cemetery and a Chapel still stand.
The church is a landmark in the bustling city of Mangalore. The ambience is very serene and one can spend hours in holy worship and prayer. The church building and the surrounding are very well maintained, neat and picturesque.

Milagres Church in Mangaluru is a beautiful blend of history, spirituality, and architecture. Established in 1680, the church boasts stunning neo-gothic design with intricate carvings and a marble altar. It is a hub of community life, hosting regular masses and vibrant festivals. Milagres is not just a place of worship but a symbol of resilience and faith, deeply embedded in Mangaluru’s rich cultural heritage.

Plenty of parking is available, making it easily accessible. Whether you're looking for a place to pray or simply seeking peace and quiet, this church is a must-visit.
Nithis K — Google review
One of Mangalore's oldest and most prominent churches, Milagres has a very long history - the church was first built in the 16th century, when the Portuguese first established themselves in Mangalore. Over the centuries since, the church building was destroyed and later rebuilt several times. The current church building, a striking grey-and-white structure, dates back to 1911, though marble plaques inside, embedded into the beautiful tiled floor of the church, commemorate people from much older times, including Rt Rev Thomas de Castro (1674-1684), the founder of Milagres Church. The church has some pleasing old statuary and art (the customary twelve stations of the cross painted along the sides, for instance), and is a lovely, serene place to visit even on weekdays.

Kairali Restaurant is an unpretentious eatery that offers a range of traditional dishes from Kerala. The menu consists of familiar staple items, and the food is highly regarded for its delicious taste. The restaurant's specialty, Kerala biriyani, is particularly noteworthy. Service quality is commendable and pricing is affordable, with generous portion sizes satisfying diners' hunger. While the interior of the restaurant is clean, the ambiance could benefit from some updates to enhance the overall dining experience.
Abdul Aziz was our waiter, who served us very well, and was exceptionally polite and caring. The food was good. The reason I'm giving this place a five-star review is solely because of Abdul Aziz's great service. Great place!

Food was below average, we visited the restaurant on 20-01-2025 and ordered meals. The fish curry tasted bad (repeated food) and we didn't try it. Just after an hour the entire family faced stomach pain, dizziness and omitting. At that time we started our trip so was unable to complain with the food safety department and the entire journey was inside the wash room. Never ever recommend this place to anyone, stay away.

The food is below average. Even people call it kerala restaurant the taste is not that much of a Kerala cuisine. The food i ordered were no that much good it was an average kerala food. Like biriyani, Egg curry, fish curry, etc. The fried rice was little better. Kerala food taste is below average others i don't know that much. The most irritating part is that after serving food and when it is pay time the waiter will stay close for tip. For some people it may be tooo much irritating. Tip is a system where people give when they get a satisfied service. And it's upto the people whether to give or not. Tip is not something that should be forced but the waiter will be looking and staying close to get tip when we try to pay bill.

The Liquid Lounge in Mangalore is a trendy and popular spot for locals, offering a vibrant nightlife experience. The venue offers an extensive selection of cocktails and delicious food, making it an ideal place to unwind on the weekends. With both smoking and non-smoking areas available, it caters to various preferences, attracting young patrons with its music and relaxation options.
An institution in Mangalore that's survived time by ramping up their menu and decor but still raining on to the vintage times! The cold brews are still cold and fresh! Food is still amazing and service is great. Loved the plate of Goan Sausages.

Tried the pasta white sauce with chicken which was freaking crazy and had a lot of cheese. Must try. The keema rice seems to be their all time best and was wonderful. Recently visited Liquid Lounge for lunch and had a pleasant experience overall. The ambiance is great, offering a good vibe for a relaxing meal. However, parking can be an issue, so that’s something to keep in mind. Food Review: Cheese Corn Nuggets (3.5/5) – Decent, but not as cheesy as expected. Could be better. Prawns Manchurian (4.5/5) – Absolutely delicious! Well-cooked prawns with a flavorful sauce. Highly recommended. Prawns Biryani (3.9/5) – It was okay, but nothing exceptional. Could use a bit more punch in flavor. The place is on the expensive side, but given the ambiance and food quality, it's worth a visit. Would recommend for a nice outing, especially for seafood lovers!

The place is cozy and full on vibe, taste is decent good for the price and the drinks are very affordable which is cherry in the top!! The service is fast and amazing … only drawback i found is they keep on playing random English songs… they can mix those up with kannada songs or at the least hindi songs!

Worst cocktails ever! We ordered LIIT and Tim collins (gin based). LIIT tasted only like diluted alcohol and absolutely no flavour. Gin was simply lemon squeezed DIRECTLY in your mouth, not even lemon juice and wayyyyy toooo salty!! We had to mix the two cocktails, add sugar syrup separately and only then was it drinkable. Complete waste of money. There are way better places with good cocktails. Please avoid this one.

Visited one of the famous seafood restaurants in Mangalore. Reached around ⏰ 11:15 AM — the place was open but serving hadn’t started yet. They began serving around 11:45 AM, and by then it was almost full — shows how popular it is! 😋 Ordered Fish Thali meals 🍛, Anjal Tawa 🐠, and Bangda Tawa 🐟. The fish was super fresh, tasty, and flavorful — just a bit oily but totally fine! 🤤 The restaurant has good seating 🪑, excellent customer service 🙌, and the staff are friendly and quick to serve whatever you need 🍽️. 💰 Price-wise, it’s quite reasonable for the quality and quantity you get. 🚗 Parking can be a little tricky since the road is a bit congested, but manageable. Overall, it’s a great spot for families 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 and anyone who loves seafood 🐡. ✨ Highly recommended! Excellent service, fresh food, and great vibes! 🌊💙

This was my second visit after a very long gap. My first visit was memorable one and had high expectations. Here is what we ordered (3 adults) - meals 6/10 - Anjal Tawa fry 7/10 - Bangude Tawa fry 8/10 - Prawns golden fry 6/10 - Prawns Hinguadda 8/10 - Silver fish rava fry 8.5/10 Meals are very basic with rice & fish curry replenishing options. To our disappointment the fish curry was made of dried fish which we don’t enjoy much so we ordered Prawns Hinguadda. It came with good quantity of medium-small prawns and taste was fresh but bland and not the punch of flavours expected in coastal region. Silver fish was freshest and enjoyable but quantity was less compared to what we have normally seen elsewhere. Bangda & Anjal(seer fish) didn’t leave expectations. Anjal fish masala was salty and both fishes were not fresh (not stale) but seemed frozen fish being used. My personal opinion masala was ordinary and nothing out of world or that we would remember after the meal. Prawns golden fry was disappointing. It felt as if refried prawns were served as the prawns were rubbery and coating was 10 shades darker to golden. Service was fast & good. We got a place to seat even at 130 pm as some tables were empty. At the time of entry it gives that homely feeling especially in the first seating area but the restaurant needs to understand that people come from long distance so having a single washroom kept in not easily accessible area was a let down. If was disappointing meal. I can understand to an extent the fish freshness due to monsoon but lacklustre currys & masala are bad signs. I will certainly not recommend.

Nestled in the heart of Mangalore, Pallkhi Restaurant is a beloved destination for those seeking authentic Indian cuisine in a charming and relaxed atmosphere. This award-winning establishment has garnered attention from various media outlets, including NDTV and Travel XP, solidifying its reputation as one of the top dining spots in the region. Pallkhi offers an extensive menu that caters to both vegetarian and non-vegetarian palates, with seafood being a standout feature.
Pls try their mutton Biriyani, chicken chatapata and mutton banarasi. Quality and quantity is top notch. It's slightly over priced in terms of the pricing when compared to other restaurants in mangalore. However I guess the pricing is justified considering the quality of food and this establishment serving customers in mangalore since so many years now. One of the must visit restaurants when in mangalore. The caramel custard is not as it was once upon a time, I found it very sweet and highly favored with Vanilla essence. But yes no complains otherwise. Pls give your cars for valet parking, as you can get fined by the police in case you decide to park your cars anywhere on the main road

Pallkhi restaurant one in mangalore city has one of the best ambience with classy sporty awesome look. We have been here along with my family for the lunch on weekdays, since it was long standing old restaurant we expected to have a great meal. We started with murgh banjara kebab which was tasted staled very old and marinations literally come out from the chicken pieces while server serving the dish surprisingly too bad. Chicken malai tikka again it was not rich creamy or buttery, didn’t tasted well like malai Kids had a vegetable noodles it was kind of tasted average. For the main course we had manglorean silver fish curry and it was watery, tasteless , flavored kind of funny, not authentic at all… We had only few bites with the Neer dosa. Service was pushy, waiter who took the order looked gentle but again not kind enough. Presentation of the food is not pleasant, looking at the quality of the food and service not the worth place to dine in. May be I would choose this place to have one quick chilled beeer!! Overall clean restaurant with fantastic ambience, we greatly disappointed with the poor service, and poor food. Free parking and Valet parking is available.

Pallkhi Restaurant in Mangalore, we have been visiting since ages and has been our favourite place for food. We have even organised parties here. However we are highly disappointed today with the unhygienic experience we had in the restaurant. We ordered rotis for ourselves and for the child. The first plain roti we asked for came placed on a used dirty plate underneath. We were shocked to see it when our child lifted the plate and had a bite of the roti. There was some green gravy used plate and also the same stuck to the roti. We informed the lady staff who was serving us. She replaced the roti. The minute we folded the second replaced roti to give our child we found a big hair on the roti and again we were upset and our child too. This happened not once or twice but thrice. The manager Mr.Raj; who we addressed this issue to, again replaced the roti and apologised (third time) saying it’s a small hair of the eye/ eye lash. Our food was replaced. Our child was sad, the wait period was longer and we wasted our time in all of this. Diwali dinner was already messed up. We were seriously very disappointed and displeased with the experience and we asked the helper boy to pack our remaining food, (the one who bought us the finger bowl) an entire portion of Rogan josh/gosh (mutton) and some remaining gravy from another bowl as well as 3/4 the quantity of chicken chatpata (we couldn’t eat it as we had mutton Banarasi too) The minute we came home we realised that again we have been duped, the entire portion of Rogan gosh mutton which was sent for packing wasn’t packed only three pieces were packed and a tiny container of chicken chatpata. After a terrible experience with unhygienic tandoori rotis not once but thrice. We thought at least the actual portion size send to be packed would be accurately packed, looks like the food has been knocked off by the young steward helper boys. Please take corrective steps to penalise the ones who are misusing your brand. This restaurant was always close to my heart but after this incident I am shocked how the staff you have kept can ever be trusted with our food. If we pay for our food as your customers we appreciate if our food is hygiene, safe and also taken care to be packed accurately. Please check the cameras and see who has knocked off the portions of food. Hope you will find corrective measures. I have increased the star rating from one star to three stars, also edited the review a bit. As per the request of the restaurant staff and manager. Thank you for addressing the issue and for personally contacting us, Ms. Varsha (HR) and Ms. Priyanka (Service) and for meeting us personally to discuss and for acknowledging your mistakes and promising for corrective measures. We appreciate your gesture of understanding and for respecting your customers and for going out of the way to apologise and meet us. Thank you. We wish you all keep up the brand of Pallkhi and serve us better like old times. Thank you

Enjoyed the food especially the paneer ghee roast! The most delicious paneer ghee roast I ever had! Spinach cottage cheese soup is their speciality. Must taste for everyone who visits this place. Sushila, Dhanush and Rahul gave us the best hospitality and we friends thoroughly enjoyed our visit ter! Will come back soon. Thank you loads!
