Nestled in the picturesque mountain setting of Rivera, the Splash e Spa Tamaro is a top-notch aqua park and spa. Perfect for both scorching summer days and gloomy rainy ones, this indoor facility boasts thrilling slides, a wave pool, an outdoor pool with a whirlpool, a pool bar, and a dedicated kids area. For adults seeking relaxation, there's also a stylish spa section to unwind in.
Very nice centre! Super SPA and Splash! Very friendly staff! Nice and clean. Highly recommended!
Sergei K — Google review
Good experience with a little thing that should be changed. Friendly staff, the woman at the entrance even spoke good English! Enough parking space (1fr per hour, 5fr max), and enough beds to put down the towels. We visited the swimming pools and slides, but there is also a separate spa area! The slides are awesome! 7 different ones, most are exciting for most ages (small children are not allowed in some slides). Everything is clean. At the entrance you get a small wristband that you can use to pay for drinks and food (a lot to choose from), it is also used to open/close your locker. One small thing: no staff is present at the top of the stairs, where all more exciting slides are. Sometimes there are traffic jams, which could have been solved easily by someone from the staff. And when the elevator that brings the yellow bands to the top was broke for half an hour, no one came up to explain. So we stood there waiting for nothing. Tip: the standard time to visit is 4 hours, but extending your visit is only 2fr per person per half hour, so it's not very expensive!
Thijs R — Google review
I was not aware of this place and got to find it coincidentally yesterday and today we went there immediately with my kids. We bought the tickets beforehand to make sure we have our spot. The tickets are being sold upon availablity which I think is a great system. Like this they avoid overcrowding the pools. The person at the entrance was very kind and helpful with our check-in. The changing rooms are nice, large, bright enough but also discreet enough with a massive number of lockers. There are hair dryer stations with enough dryers. The big pools are on the top floor. One pool is with tidal wave which 8 guess starts every 30 minutes and lasts for 10-15 minutes. There are also outdoor pools with bubble sessions and the best pool is the one with a bar where you can sit in a warm pool and sip your drink. There is also a restaurant with proper food, not jumk food. For instance we had a plate of rice with chicken curry and a plate of lasagne. One floor below you can walk to the slides. Great slides! Single slides, single slides with a mat, doubles slides and one slide for up to four people. The explanations by the slides are very detailed and understandable for everyone. The Spa part we have not visited but it seems like it's a big area. What you also find on the top floor is an area for little kids and a hammam. To be honest it was a great day in a great pool palace.
Okan B — Google review
Staff is lovely, ambience is relaxing and the facilities are super clean. There are saunas with varying temperatures and a hammam area for humid heat. Additionally, they have a wide variety of massages and treatments you could get while you're in.
Disha S — Google review
We had a great time! We were on a Tuesday so it wasn't crouded. The facilities are very good. Lot's of toilets and showers. Many pools to choose from. The slides are great fun and there was no line. Food is OK and you have a lot of choices. Comparing to Switzerland it is not so expensive. Really recommanded. I didn't take picture due to the privacy of other visitors. One thing - Stuff does not always know English and there is no English option in the electronic tickets vending machine.
Yuval Y — Google review
Great place for a day trip and very kid friendly. Strikes the right balance between relaxation and adventure. If you are based in Lugano it is just a 15 min train ride to the nearest train station.
Richard F — Google review
Waterpark was really good (kids from 10 years and up) Food was a bit of a mixed experience (considering the price), drinks was good. (Not considering food it would have been 5 stars) Buy tickets 2-3 days in advance to get better prices.
Rune H — Google review
Magnificent water park! We loved to be there! it's an indoor water park, warm and nice inside, there is a wave pool every 30 minutes(i think) and 2 more pools inside( one of them is warmer)and one more pool that is outside and warm. The children area was so much fun, it has 2 slides and the water sprinklers are hot and nice, our 4 and 1 years old boys had so much fun. The bigger water slides are for big kids (8 years old and above 120 cm) they were very fast, cool and scary because the slide is dark inside. Overall we really enjoyed it and recommand it :-)

Visitors can also enjoy the Ticino water park, Splash and Spa Tamaro, featuring thrilling slides, thermal pools, and a dedicated play area for children.
What a lovely place to visit, words not enough to describe the this great view. Using cable car the climb up and enjoying the bob sledge 🛷. Highly recommend
Ugur K — Google review
10/10 experience, this place is incredible. The views are tremendous and there is plenty to do. The cable car was quick and easy taking us up and the views were spectacular. Once we arrived at the top, we did the zipline and the coaster ride. The zipline provides a fun quick thrill whilst the coaster is a must! It picks up a fast speed and the bends give you a real sense of adrenaline. The walk way at the top is amazing and provides beautiful scenery and options to get some good snaps. Great place, would recommend to everyone!
Aqib B — Google review
Easy transport to Monte Tamaro. There is discount with swiss half fare card. The cable cars are frequent; coming one after another. On the first stop, you can alight to visit the adventure park with rope courses. On the second stop, alight to visit Alpe Foppa with restaurant, playground, coaster bob sled (like toboggan), zipline and various paranomic viewpoints.
M.S. T — Google review
Beautiful, the view up on the mountain is breathtaking. Packing your own snacks is a good idea as the restaurant seems to be rather pricey. If you go here, make sure to climb the hill that a cubic sculpture is sitting on, the best views are from atop that hill.

Best mountain to travel with friends / family. Many small rides for kinder and mountain coaster and zip line and paragliding for everyone.

Very good place , and beautiful scenery, there were many activities to do and the mountain is very cool at the top. The staff were friendly and kind. Its a must to visit.

A nice place to visit. Go up by cable car and enjoy the view over the Alps, walk the paths of the hill or take the zip line. Definitely worth a visit.

Monte Tamaro, the highest summit of the Lugano Prealps range at 1,962 meters, offers a pure adventure for visitors. Accessible after a short cable car ride from Rivera-Bironico, it provides various activities such as paragliding, mountain biking, tobogganing, and a thrilling zip line experience 1500 meters above sea level. The peak can be reached via an alpine hiking path starting at the cable car station with convenient parking facilities available.
One of my favorite places in Techino!! The views of the mountains here are just unrealistically beautiful!! There is a great amusement park and a good restaurant. I love this place - I highly recommend it to anyone who loves mountains and fresh air!!

Amazing view, fun ride! The Monte Tamaro cable car parking is just beside “Splash and Fun Tamaro”. After going up there is a fun ride, zip-line, and a restaurant.

One of the most stunning views I’ve seen in the ticino region. Me and my buddy took the ‘off route’ back, basically a little used path to get around and back up the mountain. Can 10/10 recommend the hike

Breathtaking mountain experience! Monte Tamaro offers incredible panoramic views over the Alps and valleys, with a mix of nature, hiking trails, and adventure activities. A perfect spot for outdoor lovers – highly recommended for a day trip.

If you do not know how to reach this place by train, go first to Rivera-Bironico. After a ten minute walk you will reach the venue. It will take you about 20 minutes to reach Alpe Foppa but it is well worth it! A paradise for hikers, you won't be disappointed! Nice landscapes. One of the main attractions is the church which doesn't look like any church I ever visited before. Worth a visit!

The view is mesmerizing! We went on a cloudy day and had taken the cable car. The restaurant on top is a little expensive and it’s better to carry your own food if you are looking for a cheaper day out. We tried the coaster bob ride and it was fun ( not so scary, and would be good for children)

If you're on the hunt for an unforgettable pizza experience, look no further than Regno della Pizza. This charming pizzeria is celebrated for crafting some of the finest pizzas in the area, featuring a light and easily digestible dough that keeps you coming back for more. The skilled pizzaiolo ensures each pie is impeccably made and generously topped, all at honest prices that won't break the bank.

(Translated by Google) I ordered from this takeaway pizzeria which also offers sandwiches prepared with pizza dough, and I was really satisfied. The pizzas were delicious, with crispy, well-cooked dough. The sandwiches were also very tasty, with generous portions and quality fresh ingredients. Both the pizzas and sandwiches are generous in size, perfect for those looking for substantial portions. The owner is a truly kind, welcoming and helpful person, "as good as bread", just like the food he serves with passion. The quality-price ratio is excellent: everything is honest and well balanced, considering the quality and quantity of the food. Compliments! I highly recommend! Complimenti! Consiglio vivamente!

Ristorante Alpe Foppa

Restaurant
Ristorante Alpe Foppa is situated on Monte Tamaro in the Swiss canton of Ticino, offering stunning views by a small lake and just a few meters from the Rivera-Piano di Mora cable car mountain station. Accessible by cable car with ample parking available at the base, it provides a wide array of self-service hot and cold dishes at reasonable prices.
Cozy place to rest our feet and worm up after a 1h50 hike. We loved the live music that we could listen also when going up on the mountain.
Mirabela V — Google review
It's the only restaurant at the end of the cable track so they have no competition. Food is average. Staff is friendly. Prices are ok to Swiss standards meaning not brilliant value for money. There's a nice souvenir shop.
Dirk G — Google review
Great selection of food. The place is self service only l. This place also has a great selection of drinks and ice creams.
Massimiliano — Google review
Nice place, sit and eat outside. Menu has choices for most people
Kevin D — Google review
Terrible restaurant, terrible food. It is better to take sandwiches with you and have a picnic, since there is a lot of space, for that you will definitely be sure that the food will be normal or even tasty, because you will bring it yourself. We came five people, we paid for the lift and the restaurant. This amount in the restaurant includes only the main course. But fruits, dessert, water are not included in this amount. For 3 water and 3 fruit 34 francs. The meat is not tasty, all the food is of the same red color, everything boils in some kind of sauce and fat. The pomfret was good, but the fried potatoes smelled of overcooked butter and looked like they were yesterday. Twisted sausages are tasteless to eat, too fatty. Lasagna is generally incomprehensible, some piece of clay of red-orange color. All I can say is that this restaurant is on my black list.

Markus S — Google review
(Translated by Google) We organized a wonderful family outing and, once we reached Alpe Foppa with the comfortable cable car 🚡, we stopped at the restaurant for a pleasant lunch break. Menus and Offers for Families The menu offers a wide range of options, perfect to satisfy the tastes of all family members. Although there are several possibilities, it is absolutely advisable to choose the **menu of the day**, which offers good value for money and includes dishes prepared with fresh, local ingredients. For the little ones, the restaurant offers dedicated menus, with suitable portions and simple dishes that children love, such as pasta with tomato sauce, chicken nuggets and French fries. Atmosphere and Activities for Children The view from the restaurant is truly spectacular, with breathtaking views that extend over the surrounding mountains. However, what makes this place great for families is the variety of **children's activities** available nearby. The little ones can have fun on swings, small slides, and other safe and well-maintained play structures. An unmissable attraction is the beautiful sled lift, which offers an exciting experience for adults and children. The cost is only CHF 5, and it's a ride not to be missed for an extra adventure! Structure and Comfort The restaurant has plenty of seating, both inside and outside. We recommend arriving early if you want to have lunch outdoors, as there are only a few tables in the shade and these are highly coveted. The interior of the restaurant is well-kept and well air-conditioned, offering a comfortable and relaxing environment in which to rest after outdoor activities. The restaurant is well equipped to welcome families: high chairs are available for children, large tables for large groups and attentive and friendly staff are always ready to meet the needs of the little ones. Prices and Convenience The only slightly negative note could be the prices, which are a little high. However, considering the splendid location and the high quality of the service, I would say that they are all in all justified. Furthermore, the dishes are plentiful and well presented, which contributes to making the overall experience very satisfying. Excursions and Adventures The Alpe Foppa Restaurant is not just a place to have lunch, but is also a starting point for numerous excursions suitable for the whole family. After lunch, you can embark on scenic walks along well-marked trails, which offer the chance to discover the natural beauty of the area while immersing yourself in outdoor adventures. Conclusion In summary, Alpe Foppa is a place to absolutely visit: a perfect place for families who want to spend a day of relaxation, good food and fun. Whether you're looking for a quiet break or a starting point for unforgettable excursions, this restaurant offers everything you need for a great family adventure.
