Factory Outlets
Located just a 45-minute drive from Lisbon, Freeport Fashion Outlet is a sizable outlet center offering a wide range of upscale boutiques, shoe stores, and gift shops. With over 100 renowned brands like Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, and Carolina Herrera, shoppers can enjoy discounts of up to 70%. The outlet also provides convenient amenities such as shuttle services to and from Lisbon, a kids' area, and various dining options.
Now that was an amazing shopping experience. An open-air outlet is so much better than an indoor mall — you get a completely different vibe.
Emran S — Google review
It’s a nice and pleasant drive, but I found the prices quite similar to the ones in Norway. Took my son about 20 minutes to get an ice scream scoop with only a table seated. Hard to understand Had problems with the tax free as not all workers are informed about the rules between Norway and European Union.
Tiago C — Google review
Nice complex, with easy access and ample parking. Many shops but not all have the same quality products as the normal shops on town. More outlet shops… prices are competitive if you look for deals. All in all not bad
Guy H — Google review
I came here for the first time. Since I am a Muslim, I needed to pray. I asked the Information Desk if there was a praying room, but unfortunately, I received a negative answer. I went to the restroom to perform the necessary ablution for my prayer. However, a security officer who saw me washing my feet did not allow me to continue. For the first time in my life, I felt so humiliated. I find it unacceptable that such a large shopping mall cannot organize a 5-square-meter praying room. I believe you should respect people’s freedom to worship and provide the necessary facilities. As a result, due to the disturbing and humiliating warning from your security staff, we left without shopping. We have no intention of coming back.
FATİH K — Google review
Open-air outlet with a nice layout. I was expecting more summer clearance deals, but most stores were already preparing for the winter season. Still, it’s a pleasant spot to walk around, with a good mix of popular brands.

I like this kind mall, you can enjoy outside and inside shops, maybe not all shops in my budget, but some of in very good price quality balance :)

One star but even less if I could We parked the van here, went in for about 30 minutes Came back to the car, window broken They stole our laptop, tablets, power bank, ALL OF OUR DOCUMENTS. So now we’re on a nice trip around Portugal visiting the police and the embassy Beware of thieves around the parking lot Stay safe

Nice outdoor shopping center. Lots of stores from famous international brands, plus numerous local shops that we not familiar with. We went on a Monday and it was not at all crowded. In fact it was quiet and pleasent to walk around.

Restaurant
Barrete Verde is a restaurant in Alcochete, Portugal that reflects the local tradition of bullfighting. The decor is adorned with paraphernalia related to bullfighting, creating an atmosphere that resonates with the local love for this activity.
I had a fantastic experience at this charming, traditional restaurant. We were warmly received by the host, whose family own and run the restaurant with the passion and pride of toureiros. The food was cooked with love, and the generous portions were packed with flavour. I will be a regular here from now on. Update - I'm a regular at Barrete Verde now, and it's consistently excellent. You should definitely call ahead and reserve a place though, especially on weekends. Update - Still the best. I've eaten here tons of times and they never disappoint. It's a gem of a restaurant where you can taste the love.

This restaurant has a traditional decoration related with bull fights, typical from this region. The staff was friendly and the service normal and fast. The food was very well done. All the dishes ordered were very good... and pricewise very interesting. The cheesecake is delicious.

What a brilliant, lively, authentic local restaurant. We had a very enjoyable meal here on our last night in Portugal. Attentive service despite being really busy, good, honest food served in generous portions. We had both meat and fish and both were really well cooked and delicious. The restaurant was full of local people - always a good sign.

An authentic Portuguese restaurant where locals flock for lunch. Make sure you book as the place is always full. The nenu is simple, strictly in Portuguese and everything is delicious. Their rabbit is one of the best I have ever had. Excellent price quality ratio and efficient service. This place is an institution in Alcochete.

Italian restaurant
Bar
Nestled in the heart of Praia do Sal, Omaggio Restaurant is a delightful homage to authentic Italian cuisine. With a menu that goes beyond the classic pizzas and pastas, it invites diners to explore a rich tapestry of regional flavors and artisanal dishes. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, enhanced by live music that adds to the dining experience. While there may be occasional service hiccups—like drinks arriving after meals—the overall vibe remains charming.
One of my fave restaurants, had vegan options, the vegan pasta was incredible and the virgin drinks are unbelievably delicious 🥰. 10/10recommend and the ambience sets the whole place !

I came here for the cheesecake that I saw on their social media page. It did not disappoint. The two ladies who assisted me were lovely.
Katrina M — Google review
The atmosphere and design of the place are quite nice, creating a pleasant setting. Unfortunately, both the food and service were disappointing. I ordered the ossobuco, which should be tender and flavorful, but instead received a tough, rubbery piece of meat. The pizza looked appealing but didn’t deliver on taste. While it’s a decent spot for coffee and ambiance, I wouldn’t recommend it for the food.
Viktoriya Z — Google review
We had a lasagna and two pizza Diavolo and it was all perfect and tasted so good. It is very quiet and pleasant inside and we really did not have to wait long for our food. We can really recommend the pizzas and the lasages. Perfect!!

A very good experience... the restaurant is part of a 4 star resort and has a relaxed atmosphere (inside it is fancier). The service was just pleasant and friendly. The location is also nice, close to parking places and at walking distance of Alcochete. The food was very good with special highlight to the entry dish "Burrata" and the dessert Ommagio icecream. The caipirinhas also to be recommended...
Nuno R — Google review
It’s a nice ambiance and they had a great singer when we were there. There wasn’t enough staff and they didn’t consider the flow of our meal properly. We got our entire food order quite a while before they brought our drinks. And we got a bottle of wine which we thought we’d enjoy before and during the meal, not afterwards. They have a real pizza oven so we thought the pizza would be great but it was not as good as we thought - but it was still very nice. I’d recommend to skip the bread starter. The prices are good. The chocolate truffle was amazing and the tiramisu was awful.

Restaurant is attached to the hotel. Ate here almost twice a day during my stay. Food was delicious, services are mixed, some are attentive and courteous, some are not attentive at all. In 2 occasions bread was not served for dinner where adjacent tables did. They have shows on weekends

Salinas do Samouco, Fundação para protecção e Gestão Ambiental

National reserve
Salinas do Samouco, Fundação para protecção e Gestão Ambiental is an ecological sanctuary near Lisbon, offering a profound encounter with nature. It's home to rich migratory bird species and unique ecosystems. Visitors can enjoy the birds' songs, colors, and graceful flights while exploring well-signed routes through a unique landscape. The area provides close access to public transport, which is not typical for hiking areas around Lisbon.
Very friendly reception and great walk among the birds and salt pits
José M — Google review
We had a walking tour organized by Caminhando and, of course, wanted to see Flamingos. Our guide, Luis, is part of this Sanilas do Samouco wildlife reserve. He was amazing, passionate about the environment, and birds and made our visit memorable. There are tree routes you can take green, being longest and yellow the shortest. Walking was easy. We made frequent stops to see all kinds of birds. We were given binoculars, which was amazing. Unfortunately, the weather was horrible, very cold with strong wind gusts, which, of course, made this experience different. I am also not a big fan of birds, but visit to the salt production facilities as well as very cute and sociable donkeys made my day. This time of the year (end of November), we only saw a handful of flamingos, and they weren't pink.
Ksenia H — Google review
Lovely place for a walk, lots of birds to see and well marked trails. Came here before the shopping outlet. The town is very pretty too for lunch.

Nice place around the old and active saltpans Some trails around the area, when raining some may be very muddy. Nice strolls, great scenery and some birds around.
Vasco V — Google review
Nice place for birdwatching. There are several routes, ones bigger than others. Please allow plenty of time to visit this place, so you can contemplate the variety of birds. Throughout the routes, there are designated places for birdwatching, where you can just sit and observe. There is an entry fee. Highly recommended.
Sónia M — Google review
We walked by here not knowing what you expect and it’s such a nice area! We didn’t see any flamingos but will go back again for sure. They have very cute and friendly donkeys. You can watch the guys collecting salt and can buy some on the way out!
Nicole — Google review
I was not let in when I visited the place at 4pm, even though 1 hour might be enough to walk around a bit considering that the longest route is ~4.5km. The staff was NOT friendly at all… I felt like being forced out. As a person who have worked/volunteered at several bird observatories, I expected to be introduced to the birds of the observatory, at least by pictures or somewhat. I was not disappointed just because I actually did not visit this area for the bird observatory and because I watched greater flamingos, stilts, gulls, and sandpipers at a marsh nearby. Wish I brought my binoculars so that I could identify all the cute sandpipers. Hope they make it clear when the last entrance time is.
Yeon J — Google review
Just outside of Lisbon you have a paradise of nature, wildlife and silence... The views of the Tejo river and the Vasco da Gama bridge just add to the magical nature of this place... As an add on you can visit the abandoned cod fish salting factory that looks as impressive as it looks eerie... If you walk quietly through the paths you can forget how close you are from a major city, it's truly magnificent.

Restaurant
A Tasca do Vitor is a charming Portuguese tasca situated by the waterfront in Alcochete. This no-frills eatery offers traditional and hearty Portuguese cuisine, including dishes like acorda savory bread porridge, feijoada beans and meats stew, and cozido a portuguesa, considered the national dish of Portugal. The restaurant is known for its delicious local food with generous portions and lovely salads.
Typical restaurant offering traditional Portuguese cuisine. We liked all the dishes, they were very tasty, perfect seasoning and the food tasted like home made. The restaurant is quite small, so it is recommended to book a table. The service was very friendly and attentive. Highly recommended.
Sónia M — Google review
As we arrived before opening time (7h30pm), the manager told us he couldn’t serve us. So we decided to go to the restaurant next door for dinner and come back afterwards to Tasca do Victor for the amazing dessert they have - Cookie Cake (Bolo de Bolacha) - which I MADE SURE to check out before leaving, that they had enough for us when we’d be back (at least 3 portions they had)! Sadly, once we got back to A Tasca do Victor for the dessert, the waiter and the restaurant manager told us they didn’t have it anymore… which was obviously a lie, because the restaurant had only been opened for 20minutes and all the tables were still having starters so it was impossible that anyone had the 3 portions. The manager obviously wanted us to have a full dinner meal there and wasn’t up for us to have just the dessert.. Very disappointing experience! They obviously don’t care about their clients! 🍰If you are interested in this dessert you can also try it at another restaurant: Barreto Verde (they were sadly closed on that day but the food there is also great!)

No issues here, some people question the service but its just the mannerism. I got the Carne à Alentejana, very nice. Price is the price, place is the place. Act accordingly people. Vinho Tinto will make everything good 😉

Delicious local food with generous portions, always with side-dishes and luvly salades too, home-made desserts, draught bubbly white wine, we had the prawn wrapped in bacon & "Tirinhos de Porco Preto" both delicious! Swift Service with a smile and very normal prices => 5* and gladly going back any time!!!

This is a great tasca, with a super cosy vibe. Not only is the food tasty and of good quality, the staff are very helpful and accommodating. We went there with my 92 year old grandfather, who is in a wheelchair, and we were received well & with patience. Try the tirinhas do porco preto or the lulinhas fritas!

Came to shop in this wonderful outlet. Stopped starving in the food court at this place. Had the vegetable soup, the shrimp and chicken dish and the fish with rice and beans.Altho it’s fast food to be honest, nothing was good nor fresh but the French fries and salad.

Very bad experience with food. You can feel its really frozen food just done fast and sent to your table. The have a good service team they can improve the food. The price was cheap but food can be improved.
Imdadul H — Google review
We ordered the paella and alheira. The food arrived quickly, but the paella was a big disappointment — bland, no real seafood taste, and looked/tasted like a frozen supermarket version with yellow rice. Definitely not what you’d expect from something advertised as paella casera. To make things worse, the bathroom was in poor condition: dirty floor, smelly, watered-down soap, and no proper hand dryer — just a kitchen paper roll placed on the sink and another one on top of the tap. The bin was overflowing. Overall, poor food and poor hygiene. Not worth the money.

Don’t go. Very bad service. More than 5 people working and are chatting and seating around. Sat down for 8 min no one to take orders nothing. Called for some service waitress comes with a funny joke. Not really. And received the menu after that. Than another 8 min no one but all are there chatting. Asked for manager and he his also funny he said his opene to critics and that’s our point of view. Bad bad.

Specializing in fresh fish and seafood, Alfoz offers a menu that satisfies even the most discerning palates. While this delightful eatery may be slightly expensive due to its commitment to quality ingredients, the warm and friendly staff provide exceptional service.
We had a large group (20+). The service was truly excellent and the food very good. We had a private space overlooking the water and had a truly lovely evening.

Always good food, friendly service and stunning views, no matter the weather or the tide. I personally love their steak Alfoz, which is always cooked perfectly and served with a beer sauce. A tomato, garlic and onion salad on the side hits the spot along with shrimp in butter garlic sauce and their bread selection. They also have a wide range of fresh fish by weight and cook a lot of Portuguese dishes beautifully. Tableside finishing and service further enhance the experience.

Very good food, but service was quite bad as they have too many trainees. The price was ultrageous! One portion of amêijoas as a starter could not cost almost 30€ (I couldn't complain as in the menu they were by the kg). I never payed such a price anywhere in Portugal! Will never go back

I normally start my reviews on a positive as I don’t like negative reviews however, this was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in the 5+ years of exploring restaurants in Portugal. The wait staff was inattentive. We ordered appetizers and after 40 minutes and trying to get the waiters attention they informed us they were out of the octopus salad. Other tables had sat at the same time and had already started their main course. We waited patiently and after 40 minutes gave up and asked for the bill. I do not understand how you can neglect a table of paying customers but this day they excelled at it. My recommendation is to try some of the smaller family owned restaurants along the River parkway
Luis C — Google review
The staff was very friendly and the view was also pretty pleasant. In my plate: monkfish rice with clams, the clam had sand in it and the rice tasted only of bell peppers, not expected for a 20€ meal. Other than that, the meat plate was really empty with only two thin beef fillets and little to no guarnishing, which included a hair.

Stadium
Municipal Park José Afonso offers a variety of activities for visitors. Children can enjoy boat rides on the Tagus River, explore the local markets, and visit the Municipal Ecology Park. The park features well-maintained walking routes, picnic benches, and BBQ grills, making it an ideal spot for summer outings. Additionally, there is a public outdoor pool with water slides and ample parking available.
Great place to walk with the dog or be with family and friends. Love this park .

Lovely place to be. That place always bring great memories back. It feels like home.

Awesome place, lots of nice open space, tables, a playground and a court. One thing though, restrooms were closed.
Eliana ( — Google review
Went for an exercise day around the park, it's lovely, but the surrounding water smells so bad and it's a bit of a down point for the park. Not to mention the water fountains are unsanitary as people allow their dogs to drink from it when there is a specific station for animals. Otherwise, lovely well kept green spaces and a great space to walk, relax or exercise.
Paige B — Google review
Nicely maintained park with good walking route and places to sit, must a dump pipe near the sea as it does stink in places hear the water at times, but doesn't take away from the park itself, which is a great asset for the area. Lovely area for the summer with bbq grills and picnic benches. There is a cafe/resturant in the park, not tried but looks popular at lunchtimes.
Estelle S — Google review
Park is nice, some people take their dogs to run off leash a bit. Has a public outdoor pool (you can bring your own food and it was a couple water slides). Has good parking.

Peaceful, really nice place to relax, read a book and just chill. And great to do some cardio workout, play some football, practice basketball. Best hour to visit is during day time

Nestled in the picturesque Zona Ribeirinha, Rio Club offers a delightful escape where the soothing sounds of water create a serene atmosphere. Very nice atmosphere and we enjoyed a variety of water activities

It is very fun to spend some hours, the oy problem is the number of people allowed there, there are times where you need to wait to get in, but out of that it is a very good place

Samouco Beach is a small and charming fluvial beach located 5 km west of a car park. It offers tranquil waters and stunning views of the Vasco da Gama bridge. The area includes a playground for kids, a nearby picnic spot for barbecues, and a pleasant promenade at night. Additionally, visitors can enjoy delicious food in the vicinity.
Excellent farturas served by a delightful owner who showed us how he makes farturas using good quality ingredients. We ventured here to try and observe military helicopter operations. The owner assured us that they appear on a regular basis.

Tagus Estuary Nature Reserve

4.5
(829)
Nature preserve
The Tagus Estuary Nature Reserve is a protected area and the largest wetland in Portugal, located south of Santarem. It's a marshland rich in mollusks and crustaceans, serving as a nursery for various marine fish species. The reserve is an important habitat for waterfowl, with around 120,000 wintering individuals including ducks, shorebirds, flamingos, wild geese, and black-breasted hawks.
A really calm and tranquil place. It was quite enjoyable to walk the very long food path directly through the reservoir. You have a good view on the river and the city. In the evening you can clearly see the sunset here and in the morning the sunrise. While I walked for about an hour I met three other people so it's safe to say it is not very populated. Recommend this place when you want a quiet place to think, relax or reflect on your thoughts. Just make sure you don't wander off the path so you don't damage the reservoir.

A Palmeira

Portuguese restaurant
Nestled right next to the Miradouro Amalia Rodrigues, A Palmeira is a hidden gem that boasts breathtaking views of the Tejo River. This charming eatery specializes in fresh fish and seafood, offering not just the classic grilled options but also comforting dishes perfect for sharing among friends and family. One standout dish is their caldeirada de peixe, a hearty fish stew brimming with various types of fish simmered in a rich tomato and onion broth, accompanied by tender boiled potatoes.
A Palmeira was one of the highlights of our trip. Sitting by the river in Alcochete, we enjoyed a sea bass grilled to perfection over charcoal — tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The presentation on glowing coals made it unforgettable. To pair with it, we had the most delicious sangria we’ve ever tried — fresh, balanced, and simply delightful. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the service attentive without being intrusive, and everything felt genuinely local. A place we will remember and recommend without hesitation.

Highly disappointed. Outside view was amazing & owner warmly welcomed us and then EVERYTHING WENT DOWN HILL FAST. Service was terrible. Asked 2x for salt. Never got it. Server seemed pissed. Dourado was 45 euro a kg. (you can get excellent Dourado for 13 euro per kilo) We split what seemed about 3 bites of fish each between 3 of us (paid almost 40 euro for it). Served with a side of boiled, flavorless potatoes and greens with absolutely no seasoning. Presentation was a ZERO. Asked for ice and they brought shaved ice (I prayed it wasn't where they stored the fish). Had new bottles of olive oil and vinegar on tables- none of which were open and available to use (those weird nubs you have to use scissors to cut off). Mid-lunch we were swarmed by about 6 bees. They were landing in our food, flying by us... we all stood and tried to shoo them away. No luck. Ended up having to take all our dishes and drinks inside (w no help from the restaurant people). No one asked us why we moved, no one helped, no one stopped by to even see how our meal was. Bad management if you have a restaurant full of reservations and only 1 person working. Will NOT go here again and certainly cannot recommend it to anyone.

We enjoyed an amazing lunch, next to the water front. Fantastic fresh fish...professional service where we offered a plate of mussels as a starter, consistently change of wine glasses so that our wine was kept cool, even in the sun...
Malin R — Google review
Best fish ever, perfectly cooked over charcoal. ! Excellent quality with a charming host. Mussels were a beautiful addition. If you are in the area you MUST come here.
Richard M — Google review
Absolutely amazing and authentic food, the fish was incredible. Friendly staff too. But unfortunately we were charged a lot more than we expected. I guess when they serve you a starter, you have to reject it, otherwise you pay even if you didn't order. We expected 50€ and paid 85 :/

Amazing family restaurant! The best fish i’ve ever ate! The service is wonderful even though is a family restaurant and there’s only 2 people taking care of the whole restaurant but they make sure that everyone feels special. We ate everything that they’ve recommended and it was more than perfect! Thank you so much for everything! ❤️ Also, just wanted to add that the view was breath taking. If you come around 4pm you will see the water rising. I couldn’t thank them enough🤩

The owner welcomed us in and made many recommendations of what we should try. He brought us out a wonderful platter of prawns, olives, pate, cheese and bread. We had a jug of sangria and tried the grilled sardines, potatoes and salad which was an experience. We had never had them before so he even took the time to show us how to eat them. After our meal, the owner topped it off with some after dinner aperitifs. I had the moscatel and it was fantastic. My partner had something a little stronger. It was very strong. Reminded me of absinth. They get fresh fish every day and have a great terrace, although it was too windy to sit on it. Would go back.

A very good restaurant with a terrace overlooking the sea. We were recommended a fish called “varia” which is a grunter, it was really well prepared and very tasty. We started off with some prawns and mussels and drank the house “fizzy” wine. I’ve eaten cheaper here in the area but it was worth it. The staff was very helpful 👍🏻

The well-maintained space features beautiful gardens and a river-facing pool, creating an expansive atmosphere. The food perfectly complements the surroundings.
