Sarakiniko Beach on the island of Milos is a stunning natural wonder with its moonlike white landscape, clear waters, and unique rock formations. The smooth white rocks create a narrow inlet with a small beach at the end, perfect for safe swimming and snorkeling. Nearby, the remains of a shipwreck offer another great spot for snorkeling. The surrounding white volcanic rock has been shaped by wind over time, creating fjord-like crags with pools and caves to explore.
Beautiful beach, very charming and atypical. The way down is safe and there are no steep cliffs but if you on the rocks next to the beach, it could get a bit more dangerous with more cliffs. Swimming in the beach is great and the water is warmer. Highly recommend spending an hour or so here.
Ralph T — Google review
Such a nice place. We went on a windy day and it wasn’t nice to go for a swim. The views are amazing. There are a lot of caves with long corridors inside- really impressive. The water looks amazing and you can spend 1-2hours just walking around. Free of charge. There is free parking. No easy access for handicapped.
Ana S — Google review
A must go place in Milos. Better visit it in the morning with better sunlight and lesser people. Highly recommended to wear water shoes for easy walking and getting back to shores after swimming. Water is quite cold in October
Minions — Google review
Amazing spot. Loved swimming there. There are some caves as well. Highly recommended! Easy to get there by local bus (2euro) from the port. Lots of tourists- FYI
A B — Google review
Went here twice during our weeklong visit to Milos! This place is out of this world — definitely one of my favorite watering holes ever. I’d recommend going for sunrise or sunset to avoid the crowds.
Jessica I — Google review
Sarakanikio is truly a sight to behold, with its unique lunar-like landscape. The white volcanic rocks and turquoise waters create a striking contrast, offering an unforgettable visual experience. It's a place where yoy can feel a sense of tranquillity and awe. It's a fantastic spot for sunbathing and swimming. This natural wonder is a testament to the raw beauty of our planet. Overall, it's a must-visit location for anyone seeking a memorable coastal experience.
Ronnie A — Google review
Words can not describe this place. It’s like being on the moon. While rock formations with crystal clear water & natural caves formation all around. Cliff jumping as well at this location.
Raj R — Google review
Pretty unique spot! Great pictures. Went end of October so it was somewhat chilly. Though, with the sun out, it was really nice!!

Historic Sites
Perched on a hill in the heart of Milos island, Plaka Castle offers breathtaking panoramic views and a romantic atmosphere. The charming old town of Plaka, with its traditional Cycladic houses and ancient churches, is a must-see for visitors. The castle, dating back to the 13th century, served as a refuge from pirate attacks and provides an excellent vantage point to admire the entire island.
Stunning view of Milos, perfect for the sunset. Might get a bit crowded in high season, I would recommend to arrive before. You do have to go up a few stairs, but it’s not too hard to go up. Be careful going down, can be slippery some rocks.
Vitória M — Google review
The hike to the top can be strenuous if you’re wearing non hiking clothing - which most are for the pics. Other than that, the view is spectacular and the view of Plaka is pristine from this viewpoint.
Tash S — Google review
Popular hike to watch sunset. Many visitors making the hike up. Get there a bit early to get a nice spot to sit
Angela T — Google review
The best view over Milos! But there is no need to go up to the top. Stay below the castle where this one house is, you can sit on the stone wall, get a drink from the bar next to it. Enjoy!
S M — Google review
Short steep hike with breathtaking view of the blue hues of the Mediterranean … special spot to visit while on the isle of Milos!
Tyler G — Google review
Must-see sunset place. Just don’t forget a few beers!! We made the mistake unfortunately. Even during sunset it’s a hot walk upstairs but the views are impeccable
Simon R — Google review
High hike up to the castle with lots of stairs but a great view of the city and sunset

The Catacombs of Milos, situated near the village of Trypiti and in close proximity to the Ancient Theatre of Milos, form an intricate network of underground tombs dating back to the 1st to 5th centuries. These catacombs served as a burial site for Christians and also functioned as a place of worship and refuge during Roman persecution.
I disagree with other reviews. €10 euros for this inheriting and unique piece of history is about right. Well preserved and cared for. Not big or fancy . Only a short tour. but in enjoyed it.
Tim T — Google review
Really cool to see the catacombs. 10€ for a 5 to 10 minute guided tour underneath to see the galleries and inscriptions. While it's cool to see, 10€ is a bit much
J L — Google review
€10pp entrance guided tour. So sad to see these tombs Christian’s were buried there approx 300. It was during the Roman Empire when Julius Caesar wanted the Christian’s killed. The Christians hid this burial tomb from him. Some are family tombs. Greek inscription above sine tombs
Fodina Y — Google review
A very facinating place, with some great info from the tour guide. I liked how they only took us in a small group. Some amazing galleries that we got to see, the tour did feel quite fast, however it’s to be expected as it’s a small area to look at. Had to do it though while in Milos, glad we did
Dylan R — Google review
Being one of the oldest burial sites for Christians, I was intrigued to explore the remnants of these catacombs. Upon arrival, I was shocked to see that entry was 10€ (Which is comparable to other historic sites around Greece). Despite this, I gave it the benefit of the doubt. I can confirm that 10€ is absolutely too much given that there are only two small catacomb rooms with about 10 minutes of information between them. It’s still awesome to explore but cost is way too high.
Emily E — Google review
Super old burial places carved in volcanic sand cliffs. Interesting place to see how ancient people buried their loved ones. Unfortunately the catacombs were found after being looted and there aren't any relics to see. Cool place! And it is very close to where the Aphrodite of Milos was originally discovered, there is a replica on the way of it on the way to the catacombs. Be prepared to walk the stairs down and then up after your visit, about 3 switchbacks. We didn't have to wait long for our guided visit included in the €10 ticket, people under 18 are free.
Karla A — Google review
Amazing catacombs (vandalised) from 2nd to 6th centuries after Christ, but only 20 metres of more than 300 are shown, and it is 10€ per person for a ten minutes explanation. Quite an unworthy price.
Fon B — Google review
A bonus was the guide and the history behind the place, explained by the place keeper! We were organised in small groups and able to hear the history of the catacombs on the island while we were walking inside them.

Astakas Cafe Restaurant

Restaurant
Astakas Cafe Restaurant is located in the traditional fishing village of Klima, accessible via winding roads from Trypiti. The owner, Nikolas, serves fresh seafood brought in by local fishermen up to three times a day. The restaurant offers a picturesque setting with white tables near the water and colorful fisherman's cottages as a backdrop. While famous for its pricey lobster spaghetti, Astakas also offers authentic Greek island cuisine featuring fish, seafood, and vegetables.
We had dinner at Astakas Café Restaurant in Milos, and it was a lovely experience. The food and service were both very good, and the view from the restaurant is absolutely gorgeous — especially at sunset. Prices were fair for the quality and overall experience. I definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Milos.
Murillo P — Google review
Astakas is the perfect spot for a romantic dinner with an incredible sunset view – definitely go at dinner time to enjoy it fully. The restaurant itself is very good, with a nice selection of dishes. We ordered the mussels (very nice), the prawn pasta (also tasty), and a fresh fish from the daily list, which was excellent. Overall, a lovely dining experience in one of the best sunset locations in Milos. Highly recommended for a special evening.
Dimos A — Google review
The setting is stunning right by the water. The food was also very good but unfortunately the service was bad. I’d still recommend based on the setting. It was very quiet when we arrived (only a couple of tables sat) we were told all the tables by the water were reserved which would be fine but most of them remained empty after we left. The service was slow to begin with, it was very slow to get our starters and only one of the two arrived, after a notable time I spoke to one of the waiters and was told that the Eel I ordered was not actually available that day so the original waiter took the order but somehow the kitchen or anyone else didn’t query it. I was asked if I wanted something else instead by my original waiter but the issue didn’t seem to be taken very seriously and not so much as a sincere apology. The mains then arrived moments later before my partner had finished her starter and before I had even been brought mine. Again trying to get anyone’s attention for the bill took a long time. The stuffed squid starter was excellent, would recommend. The anchovy starter was fine. Breaded fish main was excellent, highly recommend. The tomahawk pork steak was very dry throughout. This was a bit of a let down as we had made the trip especially for dinner. Good for gluten free.
Sean L — Google review
We were staying near by and had a wonderful lunch by the water. The view was beautiful and the food was even better. The stuffed squid and eggplant dip were good. The risotto with squid and octopus was amazing and creamy. Great for a fancy lunch, sunset dinner, or just a few drinks while visiting Klima.
Erica E — Google review
Beautiful place for dinner at sunset! It gets crowded so come early or make a reservation. We were told there would be an hour wait but it ended up being 30 minutes. We tried the grilled squid, sea bass, and shrimp pasta and all were delicious. The sweet kitties wandering around were a great bonus.
Catherine M — Google review
Outstanding Greek Seafood restaurant right on the beachfront at Klima, Milos. We stayed 3 nights in Klima and also dined 3 nights at Astakas Restaurant because the food was so delicious the first night and the ambience unbeatable with excellent attentive service. One waiter remembered us each night and looked after us so well, even recommending where we can buy koufeto, ( white pumpkin and almond dessert/jam) which features in one of Astakas desserts. Book ahead otherwise you may need to wait a while for a table. Highly recommended their house white whine ‘ Pirigo’, sea bass with greens, shrimp, bream baked in paper, baked vegetables and their yoghurt mousse dessert with koufeto. Lots of gluten free options. Highly recommend for local Milos authentic seafood!
Sally B — Google review
We had dinner here and watched the sunset. You can’t ask for a more picturesque setting. The colorful fishing village is charming and the tables are right next to the water. If you want a table in the front way along the sea wall, you’ll need a reservation. The service and food were amazing too. I tried the grilled octopus, because, why not, and it was great! The shrimp were huge and delicious too.
Colli L — Google review
Must go to restaurant if you come to Milos. So good, i had to come twice during my trip. The food is amazing. Steamed mussels, grilled squid, grilled shrimp, grilled octopus. And quality wine at a good price. I recommend Reservations a few weeks ahead of time. Nicolas and Alex provided 5 star service and gave good recommendations.

Island
Milos is a laid-back island located in the southwest part of the Cyclades, known for its rocky, volcanic landscape and clear turquoise waters. The island boasts unique natural landscapes shaped by volcanic activity, including mysterious rock formations and colorful soil. Milos is also famous as the homeland of the renowned marble statue of Venus of Milo displayed in the Louvre Museum.
Great island and so much to see. We hires a small car for the day and completed the island , stopping along the way. Love the island and people. Great bakeries however fruit and coffee is expensive for an Aussie. Definitely worth a stop for 2 days.

an underrated gem of an island! it exudes charm in every nook and corner. expect a wonderful and relaxed vibe, its not a loud island. stay in adamas if you can, and must visit plaka, sarakiniko and klima.

Milos is an enchanting island that truly captivates with its stunning landscapes and rich history! The beaches are absolutely breathtaking, featuring unique rock formations and crystal-clear waters that invite you to swim and explore. From the famous Sarakiniko with its moon-like surface to the charming beaches of Paliochori, there's a perfect spot for everyone. The island's charming villages, like Plaka and Adamas, offer delightful whitewashed buildings, local shops, and fantastic restaurants serving delicious Greek cuisine. The seafood is fresh and flavorful, making dining a highlight of any visit. The people of Milos are warm and welcoming, adding to the overall friendly atmosphere. Exploring the island’s ancient sites, such as the Catacombs and the ancient theater, provides a glimpse into its rich historical significance. Whether you're looking to relax on the beach, indulge in local delicacies, or immerse yourself in history, Milos is a must-visit destination that promises an unforgettable experience!
Liz N — Google review
Lovely place for the people who love swimming and nice beaches - people are friendly and helpful, food is average but again, the water is crystal clear everywhere. We went for 6 days there and it was quite enough to explore the island. Make sure you visit Sarakiniko beach, Klima and Tsigrado beach while being there. Also, I’d recommend not to take full day boat trip, as it might be too much.
Khatia G — Google review
Beautiful island, beautiful sunsets, welcoming people, good food, lots of history. We enjoyed our time there. Having said that, unfortunately the prices have skyrocketed and it has become a tourist trap. And the locals agree. You rarely pay less than 30-40€/person for a simple restaurant meal in a decent place (unless you want to eat just a salad in which case you’ll still pay close to 10€), the beach bars are charging 20-25€ for beach chairs/cushions, decent hotel/airbnb rooms are expensive, ATV/cars rentals are no less that 70€/day...The island is known to be windy and the airline that flies there will cancel flights with last minute notice. If you’re on a budget, you’ll probably be better of going there during the off-season or visiting another island. If not, you’ll have a good time.
V — Google review
The most beautiful island I’ve ever visited. The beaches are incredible, the water (especially in the south of the island) is so clear, the people are wonderful, the towns so quaint, and the food incredible. 10/10 would recommend.

Absolutely charming spot in Plaka, Milos! Mosaic is a true gem — we stumbled upon it and ended up returning twice during our stay. The terrace is just beautiful, with views of the sea that make it the perfect place to relax, morning or evening. The food was fresh, flavorful, and authentically Greek. We had a delicious breakfast with amazing service by a lovely young brunette woman (I can’t believe we didn’t catch your name- sorry!) and she was very helpful catering to me and mum being celiac (gluten free). We went back again the next day for cocktails and the amazing view. Best espresso martini I’ve ever had! Lastly, we had the same server who gave us so many recommendations for Athens as she lives there in the winter. Such amazing service and experience! Give this girl a raise!!

The guest house Ergína overlooks the town of Agios Nikolaos and provides a relaxing setting for tourists. The home-style cooking here is fantastic, with oven-baked veal and roast kid as some of the most popular dishes. Located away from the coast, this establishment may not be as well known as some other dining options in the area, but its definitely worth checking out.
Phenomenal!!! 12 out of 10 Heaven like service and dining experience. Reasonable prices and epic views with exceptional service. Hidden gem worth the ATV drive. We had the tenderloin and the oven baked chicken, both dishes we didn’t want to end!!! Highly recommended. Absolutely outstanding and delicious

Booked on the day. Nice table with spectacular views of the bay below. Greeted by the owner of the restaurant who was passionate about his local menu. He shared lots of history and stories. His recommendations for wine and food were spot on. Greek salad with local cheese, chickpeas in orange and rosemary sauce and the skordolazana as starters were delicious. For mains we had the pork steak , meatballs and the veal in tomato and wine sauce. All delicious. To finish we had walnut pie and chocolate soufflé. We loved the place, the food and the service.

Methismeni Politia is a traditional Greek restaurant with a beautiful view and outdoor seating. The place offers a variety of dishes cooked in a wood oven, such as baked feta in phyllo dough with honey and grilled octopus. Customers have enjoyed the tasty food, especially the pork chops and local specials like chicken in parchment paper with honey and walnuts. The service has been described as polite, although it can be slow at times.
“I went there twice during my stay in Milos, and it was by far my favorite spot. Quiet place, very pleasant setting, friendly staff, big generous portions, tasty homemade-style dishes, and fair prices. I truly enjoyed it. Highly recommend

We had such a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant! From the moment we walked in, we were met with genuine smiles and truly welcoming attention. It's always a pleasure when the service sets such a positive tone right from the start. The food arrived quickly, which was fantastic, and the atmosphere was so calming and quiet – perfect for a relaxed meal. Our accommodation host recommended this spot, and we're incredibly happy we decided to come to this wonderful establishment. We absolutely highly recommend the pork kotosoubli; it was incredibly soft and bursting with flavor. We also tried the lamb in the oven with potatoes. While we found the lamb itself to be a bit dry, we still finished it, and honestly, that was the only minor hiccup in an otherwise perfect meal. Overall, this restaurant offers a fantastic combination of excellent service, a serene ambiance, and delicious food. We definitely recommend giving it a try!

Real shame! Never the type to single star an establishment but felt the need to share. Came for dinner our first night in Milos expecting to be blown away. The view was nice and ambiance felt authentic. We got the zucchini balls and artichoke which were good, but the lamb in oven and rooster in wine were both extremely dry. Purposely we each only took a bite out of each in order to confirm the taste/toughness. When we addressed it, in the most quiet and pleasant way, the waiters not only made us feel like we were wrong and poked into the meat saying it’s moist and cooked to perfection but had us feeling as if we never ate lamb or a half bird before. No offer to remake the dishes or offer a refund for the poor quality, just gaslight us to believe the dishes were perfect. Truly a shame and we really expected better on both quality and communication with customers. Hopefully others can share better experiences but we both wished we looked deeper into the reviews because both these dishes seem to be a flop based on numerous reviews.
Elie C — Google review
Typical Greek welcoming vibes friendly and polite service. We ordered a bit too much food but it was worth it! We tried the lamb and the pork, both were delicious. The salad was huge with a very generous amount of cheese. You’ll also be surrounded by kitties, which adds to the charm. Just be aware it can get chilly and windy in the evening, so it’s a good idea to bring a light jacket.

This restaurant is a short walk from where we stayed at Studios Betty, so we decided to give it a try based on the reviews. I'm so glad we did! I got the "chicken in paper" and my wife got the rigatoni with four cheese. My chicken was the best chicken I've ever eaten. It was very tender with flavors that were perfectly balanced. The chicken was cooked on a bed of potatoes that were also perfectly cooked and delicious. My wife's dish was similarly delicious. The atmosphere is very nice with plenty of seating, some of which offer beautiful views of the sea and Minos island. Our server was very friendly and our food and drinks got to us quickly. This was the best meal I've had on Minos and I'm very grateful to have gotten to enjoy such a delicious and satisfying meal in a beautiful location. Highly recommended!

Medusa is a charming ouzerie located in the picturesque fishing village of Mandrakia on the north coast of Milos. With stunning views of the Aegean Sea, this restaurant offers a leisurely dining experience with a focus on mezze and local ouzo. The menu features must-try dishes such as smoked sun-dried mackerel, Milos cheese pie, grilled sardines, and zucchini balls.
We came for a late lunch in late September, no wait, and landed a great table. The views and atmosphere alone are worth it. The food is fresh, tasty, and unfussy—simple cooking full of flavor. Nothing fancy, but sometimes that’s exactly what you want: good food with a beautiful view. Definitely worth a visit.

Service by Alex was excellent and very attentive. The food was a bit too salty, and unfortunately there was no fish of the day available, which was disappointing. However, the location is beautiful - right on the beach with the moonlight facing you, making for a lovely atmosphere.

Service was great! Went at noon and got seated right away. Swordfish is a must! My octopus was OK, expected a little better in the quality of the octopus. The view and the ambiance is unbelievable! 5 out of 5 in atmosphere!

Nice place by the sea with a great view and fresh seafood. The setup is simple but feels authentic. The octopus and fried fish were really good, and the service was friendly even when busy. It can get a bit crowded, so better to go early. Overall, a solid 4-star place — good food, nice atmosphere, and worth a visit when in Mandrakia.

A nice quaint restaurant with beautiful views over looking an old fishing village. Food was good except the fried Kalamari. The kalamari was drenched in oil and was not to enjoyable. I recommend getting to this resturant by Taxi, Car or ATV it's quite a long way down.

A wonderful dinner with a beautiful setting. We ate out on the deck to enjoy our lovely meal. Server and host were welcoming and made us feel like family walking in. We enjoyed everything got for dinner including the sun dried octopus and meatballs. Amazing spot for a scenic dinner.

Best spot for lunch under a sunny day. Strongly recommend you to bring all sunshine protection you have if you want to sit outdoor near the sea view. Food:4.5⭐️ 5⭐️ Fried Calamari - super fresh and the most satisfying seafood we had in Milos 5 ⭐️ Fried cheese - crispy 4.5⭐️: Dried octopus was rather tender with stronger flavours than fresh octopus 3⭐️: Swordfish tasted and looked like chicken. We don’t fancy about the rice at the side at all Staff 5⭐️: friendly and speedy response Atmosphere 5⭐️: outdoor area is not fully shaded but the view is excellent and highly enjoyable. But some customers did change to shaded area from the nicest sea view spot as it was too hot and strong sunshine.

After visiting the fisherman houses we stopped by the famous Medusa for lunch, we were early enough to get a table straight away. We tried both the sun-dried and vinegar octopus. The sun-dried octopus was a little tough and didn’t have a lot of flavor. We liked the vinegar octopus much better. We also had a Greek salad. Noting noteworthy about the salad. Service was ok, but a bit snooty. The views are of course amazing!

Day 2

Northeast side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the northeast side side of town. Start the day off with Plathiena, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Folk and Historical Museum of Milos. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

Outdoor Activities
Plathiena Beach is a stunning crescent-shaped beach nestled among rocky cliffs on the west coast of Milos. The beach boasts turquoise-blue waters, fine sand, and reddish rocks, creating a picturesque setting. Despite being a popular spot, it remains relatively uncrowded even during peak season, offering visitors a serene bathing experience. Surrounded by arid landscapes and scattered tamarisk trees, Plathiena is shielded from strong winds, making it an ideal place for tranquility seekers.
Plathiena is such a great beach spot. As with most places in Milos, I arrive around 9-930am and secured a great beach spot. The water is crystal clear and gorgeous. There’s also a beach cafe close by to get coffee and water. They may serve food-not sure. Definitely worth a visit for a swim before the masses head down around midday.

Plathiena is such a great beach spot. Not the prettiest but still a nice beach. More like a normal beach. As with most places in Milos, I arrive around 9:00-9:30am and secured a great beach spot. After 11:00 people start arriving almost at the same time. The water is crystal clear and gorgeous. There’s also a beach cafe close by to get coffee and water. They may serve food-not sure. Definitely worth a visit for a swim before the masses head down around midday. The sun beds are 25€ each so 50€ for two with a table per day. A little expensive regarding the location. They had a thing that makes it possible for wheelchair users to go down the water which is super cool if that’s needed. Good place for parking. No issues. The bar had wifi and toilets 🚽

If you choose one beach to swim in Milos, make it this one. The water is wonderful clear, calm, and perfect for a long swim. Bring your own water or grab something from the small beach bar, the people there are nice. Great place to relax, play some beach rackets, and spend the whole day by the sea. Simple, beautiful, and worth it.

Wonderful beach in milos. Our favourite from our trip. The views from the car to get there are equally as amazing as the water. A large beach with plenty of room for your towels. The water is insanely clear and not too deep, you can get very far in the water before not being able to reach the bottom.
Janica S — Google review
This beach has a very nice colournof sea which is like emerald and there is a beach bar which is not found in Milos in every beaches. From 9.00 am, it is getting crowded and the roads are very narrow. So come early to avoid cars passing in the road issue and and enjoy this beautiful sea. Also there are sunbeds and umbrellas.

Our favorite beach in Milos. Even on a windy day, it was safer to swim here compared to other beaches. The color of the water is stunning. You can walk meters and meters on soft sand until your upper body is in the water.

A must visit for sunset! The beach is quiet with free parking and absolutely stunning for sunset. Be careful, especially if traveling by car, that the roads to and from are very tight. Plan to leave before it gets too dark!

Utopia Caffe is a unique all-day cafe bar in Milos that offers breathtaking sunset views from its terrace. The limited capacity makes it essential to arrive early to secure a spot, but the wait is worth it for the stunning sunset and excellent cocktails. While the service may be a bit slow, the delicious snacks and drinks make up for it. The volcanic bliss cocktail comes highly recommended for those who enjoy spicy flavors.
Utopia truly lives up to its name! 🌅 Perched in a stunning location, it offers one of the most breathtaking views you can find — the perfect backdrop for a relaxing evening or a special night out. The atmosphere is both elegant and welcoming, making it a must-visit spot on Milos. But what really makes Utopia stand out are the cocktails 🍸. The menu features a wide variety, each crafted with care and creativity. Whether you prefer something classic or adventurous, you’ll find a drink that surprises and delights. The balance of flavors and presentation are top-notch, easily making them some of the best cocktails on the island. If you’re looking for a place to enjoy an unforgettable sunset, sip incredible drinks, and soak in the beauty of Milos, Utopia is the perfect choice. Highly

Great spot and lovely staff, but peak season turns it into an Instagram battleground. Came for the sunset, got blocked by a parade of photo shoots by people seated behind us and those waiting in line. Caught the view through someone’s iPhone 😆Maybe a gentle ushering from staff would help, so those seated can see the view too.
Stephanie L — Google review
Amazing sunset views definitely worth a visit. Note the queue was already quite large at 17:30 before they opened, so highly recommend getting there at least a half hour before they open. Not a huge deal but there were no snacks available the day we visited and they opened around 15 minutes late, again not a big deal but we had been in the queue for about 45 minutes. You can get takeaway drinks for most of the bars in Plaka so get one for the queue.
Sean L — Google review
Lives up to the hype! We got there around 5:45pm and got the last table on the terrace. Service was really quick and warm despite how busy it was and the prices were very reasonable for the location. The second the sun went below the horizon almost all the bar left, so if you’d prefer not to line up I’d recommend coming a little bit after sunset. In our experience this was even more beautiful than the sunset itself (as pictured - heaps of free tables at this point)

Visited for sunset cocktails this evening after it was recommended by a friend. Arrived at 17:45 and were lucky to be close enough to the front of the queue to get a table. The cocktails were nice (albeit very expensive!) and the view is incredible. Would recommend going early to guarantee your spot!

After visiting Greece and coming home, this Cafe/Bar has been on my mind and has left an amazing impression. The views alone are enough to want to revisit however the staff are lovely and welcoming and have great service. And the drinks are made to perfection. If you are visiting or are in the area I would highly recommend visiting Utopia. Thank you for making an amazing atmosphere for our holiday 🫶

Here definitely is one of the most stunning spot for sunset! To ensure get a spot, try to arrive by 5:30 pm! note that Mother Nature controls everything, so there will be times that the sunset is completely covered by one giant piece of cloud and there is nothing you can do about it.

Greek Orthodox church
The Church of Panagia Korfiatissa is a typical Greek island church with a special front terrace that offers stunning views, especially during sunset. While the church may be empty during the day, it becomes a popular spot as people gather to witness the amazing sunset. Visitors can bring their own drinks or grab a glass from the nearby bar and relax on the terrace while enjoying the breathtaking view. The village leading to the church is also charming, adding to the overall experience.

The view from this spot is stunning, just a LOT of people for sunset Last minute, because it was very windy, we found out that if you go back a few steps, going to the store on the side you can get into a small street that takes you to a view of the sunset with almost no one

I can say pretty standard church for a greek island. There are much nicer ones. Yet, the front terrace makes things special here. One of the most amazing sunsets happen in Milos; and this place is the view point. During the day, church would be very empty, yet close to the sunset, people pour here. You can bring your drink, or take a glass from the bar next door, sit on the edge of porch and just chill; enjoy the beautiful sunset. One tip, arrive early 😂

Nestled in the charming old town of Plaka, Archontoula Restaurant is a renowned dining spot that locals eagerly recommend. The kitchen prides itself on serving delectable dishes such as vinegar octopus, spicy oven-baked sardines, rooster in wine, and rabbit stew with passion and artistry.
Such an experience! The food was incredibly delicious, the vibes are immaculate for a family-run Greek taverna with delicious plates. If you want to get in before the “post-sunset viewing rush” I recommend either going a day you want to skip seeing sunset or go as quickly after you see the sunset as possible , especially for groups bigger than 2. We were barely able to squeeze into the last available table because it’s so popular. Also FYI - There are two sections of this restaurant the original older part and the new section down the way. So if you’re seated in the either section and see waiters walking off, that’s why. They walk an estimated 11 miles per night shift! So please be patient and kind with them. And enjoy!

The Ancient Theater of Milos, located near the Catacombs, features tiers of Parian marble seats overlooking the natural harbor and hills. Belonging to the ancient town of Klima, it was initially built in Hellenistic times and reconstructed after being razed by the Athenians in Roman times. The theater offers a fantastic panorama of Klima and is a must-visit historical site on the island.
Amazing place to soak into the energy of this place. The landscape of the Ancient Theatre’s location is stunning and the vast panorama tells you many stories. For those who don’t like to walk too much in warm temperatures it’s enough to see it from the up hills.

If you love history this is an excellent place to visit. Free entry and information about the site. The road in is very narrow and windy. It's near the catacombs of Milos which was closed on the day we went (Tuesday). As you walk in you pass a replica of Venus di Milo.

The Ancient Theater of Milos is unbelievably gorgeous. This theater transports you to a different time, and you can easily imagine the plays of Sophocles, Euripides, and Aeschylus being performed here. I highly recommend it.

Very cool historical landmark. Excavation/ restoration site of an ancient theatre on Milos. The detailing in the marble arches is exquisite. Currently only 1/10 of the site has been excavated for seating, which could currently about 800 people. Love that you could walk around the site itself into the theater and even sit in the marble seats. One can definitely understand why they built a theater there. It has an excellent view of the sea. It's a bit of a walk down to the theater itself so just to bring running shoes as the path is rocky and there are some steps. There is a parking lot further down by the catacombs can also park along the street.

Historical landmark
The renowned "Statue Aphrodite of Milos (Venus)" is a significant artifact from the Hellenistic period, famously discovered in the Ancient Roman Theater in 1820. While the original statue is housed in the Louvre, a prominent replica can be found at the entrance foyer of the Archaeological Museum on Milos Island. Visitors can also explore nearby attractions such as the theater and catacombs, with historical markers providing information in Greek and English.
Beautiful. Great story to go along with it, but the original should really be returned. The French have no need for it… As a side note: people who think parking next to the statue is acceptable, obviously don’t care about others. The car park is 20m away and at the time of the parking had plenty of spaces. Utterly selfish.
M G — Google review
Exact replica of the famous status currently displayed at the Louvre. There is a short story about the excavation and how it was shipped to France. Near by, there is an ancient theatre just 5 min by foot .
Vasileios P — Google review
As an artist, coming to Milos and not visiting this spot was just not an option. Had to. The model of the statue was, well, only a facsimile and helps to get the point across of what was found here. The neat part is walking the trails and fields and imagining what was here when the statue was found and what was here when the statue was originally placed. There are explanatory signage and there are ancient walls, tall and short, around and through the site with some walking trails. Below the entrance (150-200meter walk?) is something that I didn't expect: the amphitheater. It has been restored considerably but only in the lower seating area and stage. Really cool to get here first thing in the morning with no one else around and imagine yourselves walking among the ghosts of all the ancient people who lived here. Since I was here I also checked out the catacombs and would probably recommend it if you're interested in the history of this area (you must be if you're here, no?). Again, first thing in the morning is nice since you'll have a tour guide to yourself at the catacombs. Hindsight, I should've tipped my tour guide but I was in a hurry and didn't have the presence of mind at the time.

Easy to find and get to. Trypiti is easy to get to from Adamantas (or Adamas) via public bus at a cost of 2€ per person. The walk through Trypiti is charming, romantic and filled with cats. Not an easy walk for those with mobility issues. The replica is spotted first and stands near the original find site though the exact location is disputed since the area was disrupted by repeated excavations. There are two paths diverging at the statue with one going to the catacombs which were closed when we arrived but the other goes to the archeological ruins of a Roman theatre and stadium. As the sun set we enjoyed a prototypical Cyclades sunset.
Dana E — Google review
From where the copy of the Venus (Aphrodite) of Milos is standing you can see the original place where she was discovered in 1820 by a farmer. It is just s few steps down the dirt road to the right where you see some impressive round ancient stone walls. There you will find a sign with all necessary information.

Klima

Klima, also known as Little Venice, is a picturesque fishing village on the island of Milos. The vibrant yellow-red-green-blue fishermens houses create a postcard-worthy setting that has become iconic. Once used as boathouses, many of these cottages have been renovated and are now available for rent. Staying in one of these traditional boat houses is a must-do experience when visiting Milos.

History Museums
When in Plaka Milos, a visit to the Archaeological Museum of Melos is a must for history enthusiasts. The museum showcases artifacts from the island's significant role in ancient times, including Early Cycladic, Minoan, and Mycenaean pieces discovered at Phylakopi. Among the exhibits are patterned pottery, figurines, tools, and jewelry dating back to 3000 BCE.
A tiny museum with a very well documented and easy to understand account on history of the island as well as its mercantile connections within Cyclades. I understand it may not be enough for everyone but if you plan to visit the ancient theatre and the surrounding area, the visit to the museum can definitely enhance the experience.

A must visit place when you visit Melos. You will learn a lot about the history of this place and you will have a chance to get a cup of good coffee. Also the view from this plate is amazing!! You can see the wind miles that are hundred years old!
Dimitrios V — Google review
Small but nicely curated museum showing exhibits from the island. The entry fee (3€) is barely worth mentioning.
Mimo F — Google review
Just the right size. Many interesting artifacts, well labelled in Greek and English. Some photos showing how the objects were situated on discovery. A lovely building with objects outside too. Good value for €5.

It’s a small museum but lots to learn and see. It was also cheap. (2 Euro for a ticket) Definitely recommend coming here especially if you’re interested in history, it’s peaceful and quiet. We went in the middle of the day and it wasn’t over crowded with too many people and you actually have the chance and time to read the information about each display. It was really interesting!
Ella — Google review
Really interesting little museum, loads of information on the artifacts they have and really cool displays. Would definitely recommend if you have extra time in Plaka
Tessa R — Google review
Beautifully curated small museum. What stood out was the historical continuity of the island from the age of bronze (2000 BC) to the late Roman period (600 AD).
Konstantinos R — Google review
This is a small but very nicely put together museum of artifacts from mostly Milos that show how much it thrived in pre-Minoan to Roman times (and beyond). Very well done and fascinating. At the moment they're closed on Tuesdays.

Phatses is a vibrant, colorful restaurant popular with tourists and locals alike in the heart of Plaka. It offers live music shows and occasional cat sightings, making it a fun place to eat. The food is reasonably priced and tasty, with polite service in the day.
We were told to go during or right after sunset by one of the locals and we were not disappointed! It gets busy about 30 minutes after sunset... but when we arrived the musicians were already playing traditional greek music. Cats line the streets before, during and after your meal. As for the food itself, they were out of all seafood dishes so that doesn't get 5-stars BUT the meat dishes were phenominal. House white was OK but did the trick. All-in-all a great meal with so much authenticity.

Great place to experience a Greek taverna. They have live local music 🎶 They actually do that the entire evening ✨ The service was slow 🦥 but it does worth it. If you're in Milos, then this restaurant is a must visit.

Fantastic place! Live music and an amazing creative environment! The food was good. Their local sausage with sage was the best thing I had on my trip! The greek salad was really big and amazing! The feta pie was somewhat undercooked though, but over all I would really recommend this place!
Sanna — Google review
Had a fantastic dinner here! Lovely food and great atmosphere with live Greek music, ‘Rebekiko’. We were served quickly by one guy who was serving 17 tables. Staying late hours makes it magical 5/5
Antonios K — Google review
As we passed by late at night, the music caught our attention and we sat down to have a drink and listen to music. Although there were not many tables, no one came to take orders for a long time. We tried house wines and listened to music. The wines and music were good, we had a pleasant time. It was going to be a place where we would stay with 100% satisfaction, but they charged a ridiculous fee for house wine. They didn't cut the receipt either. We didn't have to pay according to the law, but we paid without saying anything to avoid losing our mood and got up. In order to avoid such behavior, I recommend that you examine the menu, see the prices and place your order, and make sure that they bring your receipt/invoice, which is called apódixi in Greek, with your orders.

Live music at night, lovely cats around and nice people. About the food, it was very good but it has a lot of oil. I recommend to go 😃
Paco R — Google review
A colorful location with a rich variety of drinks and food, nice staff, the prices are a little bit high, but... it's a refreshing oasis for the hot days because all the tables are under the trees. The music, the colors and the whole atmosphere is like in Havana one.

Don’t miss it once you’re in Milos, The only place we went back the day after for dinner again during our 3 nights stay in Milos, The staff are extremely friendly and nice, so patient and doing their utmost to satisfy your questions, recommending many options, The food is yummy, The ambiance is just Typical Greek, if you’re lucky you will have the love band playing and singing traditional Greek songs, The owner is so friendly and welcoming, They made our nights in Milos

Barriello is a charming restaurant located in Trypiti, offering stunning views of the sea and the village square. Housed in a 150-year-old mansion, the restaurant exudes a romantic atmosphere and is skillfully managed by the charismatic owner Takis. The menu features modern creative Greek cuisine, with an emphasis on using locally sourced ingredients from their own farm. Guests can expect exceptional food and elite service, with particular praise for their vegetarian options.
Absolutely lovely place and staff! Could not recommend it more, you must go here! We got the lamb, gnocchi and signature cheesecake per others recommendations, all delicious. We were able to make reservation the day of around noon for 2200. They were so kind and attentive, absolutely wonderful ❤️
Hali M — Google review
We ate at Barriello on our last evening in Milos and had a wonderful dining experience. The service was easily the friendliest of all of the restaurants we went to over our 2.5 week honeymoon. The food was unbelievably good. We had the Greek salad, the wild mushroom truffle rigatoni, and the chicken with ravioli - everything was incredible and I wish we had room for dessert after! I also love that the restaurant has its own farm and most of the produce used in the salad and pasta was grown there. The sunset views were also so lovely. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Milos!
Catherine M — Google review
Such an amazing restaurant. Firstly the view is sensational. Very hard to beat apart from maybe Oia in Santorini. The staff were very professional and happy to engage with you. We met the owner Takis towards the end of the night and he was such an awesome guy. The food is quite honestly fantastic as well. We had the cheesecake and octopus for our starters and then the gnocchi ragu and chicken for our mains. Unfortunately, we couldn't fit in dessert. I would recommend that you either get their early just after opening at 6pm or you make a reservation as it can get very busy here. Cannot recommend it enough though.
John P — Google review
Outstanding meal, delicious flavours, beautifully presented, warm hospitality. If i could give Barriello a 6 I would. Now all other restaurants are going to have to measure up to Barriello's standard. Thouroughly reccomend the savoury cheesecake and the traditional pie.

Food 10/10 Service one of the best I have ever experienced 10/10 and the Atmosphere is super romantic and perfect for a dinner date. The owner takes every order and is truly amazing. The food is a real experience not only a dish and therefore the value for money is insanely good. Go for the chocolate desert it’s mind-blowing!
Dominik B — Google review
The owner is so helpful and welcoming! We had to wait a while but the sunset view was worth it and we were able to have our wine close to the view while we waited for our table (beware of mosquitos) We had cheesecake to start, the mushroom pasta, and shrimp pasta. We even came back another time to dine again. Don’t miss these two dishes! They changed my life (avoid the pulled beef, it was mid).
Frankie H — Google review
Best meal of our Milos trip! The service was lovely and more upscale, as was the delicious food. Definitely a finer dining experience. Amazing sunset rooftop view. The owner and staff were very attentive (for Europe) and he personally spoke with nearly every table. You can feel his passion for the food and his business! We had the catch of the day (superb) and the Iberico pork, octopus appetizer. It was all delicious. A foodie find for sure.

Barriello was THE Best meal we've had in Greece during our entire trip. The cheesecake appetizer was unlike anything I've ever tasted, the flavors were incredible. Our mains were cooked absolutely perfectly. The meal was filling, I just wish I had room to enjoy desert. The staff are phenomenal and so polite, and the owner makes the experience another level with his hospitality and kindness

The small plates restaurant Bakalikon Galanis is a must-visit place in the town of Bakalikon. The food is amazing and the service is great. The restaurant has a rustic atmosphere and it's perfect for a casual meal with friends.
Lovely food and ambience. Good value for money. Kind waitress. We loved the decor. Greek music that was not too loud. All in all, it was an amazing evening.

Authentic Greek flavors in a charming, local-style spot. Small plates, but full of flavor and truly satisfying! Great vibes with vintage decor and classic Greek music!

This was our best food experience in Milos! Everything we were looking for, from the great tavern atmosphere to amazing food and fair prices, while drinking and eating amazing local delicacies. The place was crowded but for some reason people queued for the outdoors tables while the one inside was free which we took, as the place looks great and it’s much better than outdoors in our view. We loved everything, the octopus was really fresh and tasty, and the service was great too. Heavily recommended.
Mago P — Google review
Cozy, lively spot in Triovasalos. We came at 9:30 pm the place was still buzzing. Service was super quick, plates kept arriving at the table. We shared grilled sardines, taramosalata (fish roe dip), tzatziki, and grilled shrimp, they were all fresh and flavorful, The waiter was very friendly and suggested raki, and it paired perfectly. Highly recommended!

There was no cucumber in the tzatziki. It was the first time we encountered something like this among the tzatziki dishes we had here. The grilled octopus wasn’t well cooked, it was tough. Overall, it was an average experience.

Restaurant Glaronisia is a great place to enjoy delicious food and beautiful views of the Tyrpiti coastline. The service was friendly and informative, and the dishes were wonderfully prepared and full of flavor. Highlights included a gyro plate and pasta with lamb in a lemon sauce - both of which were highly recommended!
A generous portion of good local meat, paired with a refreshing and creative watermelon salad. The side table offered a lovely view, adding to the overall experience. The staff were attentive and genuinely helpful. A must-visit spot!

Amazing food! You have to try the chicken spit! It was amazing, and the mousaka as well. Meats recommend over fish, but everything amazing :)

Amazing dinner, view, service, and prices!! Everyone goes to the same few restaurants in Milos but there are some real gems like this one that are so nice. One of the best meals we had on our trip.
Erin G — Google review
It was honestly the best dinner ever! We spent one week in Milos and this was by far the best spot to eat. Everything was delicious and also very reasonably priced compared to most places on the island. It was the perfect happy ending to our day. The staff was extremely kind and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. Absolutely positive and highly recommended!

This restaurant is at a very good location looking over the bay. Park your car around free parking areas. There was a live Greek music at Saturday night and it was very lovely. Music started around 21.00pm. İ mean the meal portions are really big and especially the meat portions were very big. We have tried swordfish, octopus on fava, bruschetta with cheese and fig and honey fried cheese. Cyclades salad was very different with the watermelon in it. The servers are great really they did everything asked very quickly. Go for atmosphere and for the music. Also when you ask for check, they give some drink like limoncello as as free and it was nice.
Ozge Y — Google review
Great greek food and ocean views. We wanted to repeat a couple of days later. However, they let people smoke even when they close the terrace because of wind, which ruins the experience for us.
