The Church of the Intercession on the Nerl is a significant symbol of the Orthodox religion, located in a stunning setting overlooking the confluence of the Nerl and Klyazma rivers. Constructed in 1165 by Andrei Bogolyubsky in memory of his son, this medieval Russian church stands on a massive limestone foundation near Bogolyubovo. The landscape surrounding the church is truly breathtaking, with its white stone structure built on a specially constructed hill to protect it from flooding.
The most beautiful chirch in this area. It's a simbol of Russia! Nice energy and excellent pictures!

Peaceful. Nothing much to see but very scenic

I visited here in early November 2005, with friends from the area. It was one of my greatest memories of being in Russia 🇷🇺!!

On the banks of the river Nerli in the 11 th century this beautiful church was built as a hope for the nascent Christian Community of Vladimir. This Church was actually on the bank of the confluence of two rivers which was indeed a trade route. The stones were brought by the boats as no stones were available in this area. The surrounding area was all complicated by the criss crossing of the electrical wores stretched all over. A recent Governor of the placed removed them and it's a magnificent monument of the.hope of Russians in an open space filled with silence, stillness and serenity. Just opposite of it one can see the Andre Boglubiluski Monastery, a blue domed convent.

one of the most beautiful orthodox churches in russia and all rus. this church might not look that impressive, however the decent architecture (a very old russian interpretation of byzantine) in combination with the locations gives so much joy and spiritual power.

Not all foreigners may get there, so lets make it clear. If you went that far already, you must go there. It will be different, and it will be absolutely worth it. Just something that may change how you see your own life.

Nestled along the highway, Svyato-Bogolyubskiy Zhenskiy Monastyr' is a stunning convent that captivates visitors with its serene beauty and rich history. During my visit in September 2020, I felt an uplifting sense of inspiration as I wandered through its flower-filled grounds. The monastery's origins trace back to Prince Andrey Bogolyubsky, who was said to have received divine guidance for its establishment.
(Translated by Google) It is believed that the history of the Holy Bogolyubsky Convent began during the time of Prince Andrey Bogolyubsky, or rather, after his death, although there is not a single temple from those times on the territory of the monastery. From the 12th century, only a fragment of the princely chambers has survived - the only fragment of a civil building of pre-Mongol Rus' in Russia. The existence of the monastery has been documented since the end of the 17th century. During the Soviet period, the monastery did not operate, but began to be revived in the last decade of the 20th century. Nowadays both the monastery churches and the territory of the monastery look quite decent. A walk through the monastery will certainly be a pleasure.

(Translated by Google) The beautiful Orthodox women's monastery (founded in the 12th century) is located on the grounds of Andrei Bogolyubsky's palace. This is the only surviving building from the Kyiv Rus' period (before the Mongol invasion). On the grounds, you can explore the Church of the Nativity of the Mother of God (1751-58), the remains of Andrei Bogolyubsky's chambers (1158-65), the Church of the Annunciation with a refectory (1683, rebuilt in 1804), the Cathedral of the Bogolyubsky Icon of the Mother of God (1855-66), and the bell tower with the Church of the Assumption of the Mother of God (1841).

(Translated by Google) A couple of years ago, on the way to the Church of the Intercession on the Nerl, we noticed this monastery (it opens well from the bridge over the railway). This year we stopped by. In fact, it is the western outskirts of Vladimir. Nearby, close to the monastery, there is a very busy and very noisy highway M7 (E22) or the Volga highway. There is nowhere to park. We and a couple of cars sat down just outside the gate to the monastery. The gate is right behind the church bench. The holy gates with the temple and bell tower are tightly closed. A very small, beautifully landscaped area, but very crowded. The proximity of Vladimir, Suzdal, etc. has an effect. There is a lot to see in the monastery, but every step costs money. And only for cash, for which you have to cross the highway to cash out the card. Transfers are not accepted. Moreover, even just the mention of gadgets causes an explosion of indignation and some kind of primitive anger (money for some reason does not cause such anger). As a result, the wife was cheated out of more than ten thousand rubles in a shop inside the Cathedral, and she didn’t even really understand what she paid for... I had to visit a lot of monasteries, including women’s ones, including strict ones. But here this severity is brought to some kind of absurdity and is softened (for a short time) only for money. I did not feel the grace of the Lord within these walls.

(Translated by Google) A very beautiful convent. We visited it during a trip to Vladimir on September 6, 2020. Inspired and somehow cleansed my soul, or something. The husband left the monastery feeling inspired and said that he even felt better. Beautiful surroundings, there are many flowers on the territory of the monastery. Too bad there is no parking. The monastery is located right on the highway. But we drove around it. What a view there! We highly recommend following our example.

This event includes a visit to the bell tower; the cost is not regulated as it is a reasonable donation. The telephone number is indicated at the entrance to the monastery territory. PS the tour lasts about two hours (Original)

(Translated by Google) Very beautiful. The temple is impressive. Beautiful decoration. But it is necessary for someone to tell the history of this place, and about the events that took place there under V. Prince Andrei Bogolyubov, then the inspection is much more interesting. (Translated by Google) A beautiful convent with a rich history. The temple is famous for the fact that it is here that there are fragments of the castle of the Vladimir-Suzdal prince Andrei Bogolyubsky. In ancient times, the Mother of God appeared to the prince himself. She indicated the location for the construction of the shrine and residence.
