Renninger's Flea Market & Antique Center in Mount Dora is a renowned hotspot for antique treasures and unique finds. Spanning 117 acres, this vast weekend flea market offers both indoor and outdoor spaces filled with antiques, musical instruments, produce stands, clothing shops, and collectibles. The surrounding region boasts scenic landscapes with towering oaks covered in Spanish moss.
This place has everything! There are so many booths, it would take days to look at them all. We spent a Sunday afternoon here and we enjoyed looking through all the antiques, plants, and toys for the kids. We also enjoyed some corn from the roasted corn vendor. Delicious!

One of the largest and most diverse flea markets I've experienced, largely because it's like 3 markets in 1. The outdoor table area has your $1 toys and vacuum cleaners, but then down the hill are rows of small buildings with vendors selling flowers and bird houses and leather belts. Then the large, unassuming building at the bottom of the hill houses some high-end antiques with jewelry and furniture out of my price range! My wife deals in vintage jewelry, and she was overwhelmed. You would need 2 solid days just to see everything here. It was amazing.
Snarffel M — Google review
Love this place!! If you have not been here it's a must! The best place to shop and eat. And if you have not tried the small Italian food truck there you are definitely missing out. When I find great food I love to share. The Sausage and peppers, Chicken parm and cheese steak sandwiches are absofknlutley delicious!! The fresh homemade sauce oh my!

Went here for 2024 antique extravaganza, our first time. Took about 10 mins total to drive through entrance and park. Took about 10 mins or so to get through gate 4 to get a wristband - $6 each. But man, walking around on a gorgeous Saturday morning was pretty epic. A lot of cigarette smokers but all good. Tons of vendors, tons of awesome stuff to see. Port a potties set up in various spots plus a few restroom buildings. The food area was incredible. Definitely an awesome event !

Over 800 vendors selling antiques, collectibles, vintage, and more. The show is outdoors, under open air buildings, tents and includes the Indoor Antiques Center and the Street of Shops at the Antiques Center. Renninger’s Flea Market is Flea Market which runs Saturdays and Sundays 8 – 4! Located on 117 acres of scenic, rolling land in beautiful Lake County, the heart of Central Florida; amid spreading oaks, garlands of Spanish moss waving gently from their branches, you will find Renninger’s Twin Markets in Mt. Dora. Two large buildings and a number of open-air shopping areas house a wide variety of dealers from produce stands, clothing shops, and oddity vendors, to high-quality antiques and collectibles. Renninger’s Twin Markets are also home to a large number of special events including antique fairs and extravaganzas, Cars and Guitars shows and swap meets, vintage garden shows, and much, much more. One of my favourite weekend places to frequent with family and friends plus my pet chi too!
Millie D — Google review
I love flea markets and antique stores so much!! This place was crazy though. Very Very expensive and packed. Some of the stuff is really bad and over priced. It has too many people in there. Not all of the vendors take cards only cash -just FYI. We left early and went home. Not fun. 😞
Laura J — Google review
Easy parking, lots of friendly people and endless vendors: from fruit and veggies to health insurance! We enjoyed the food choices as well.as the variety of beverages. We were impressed with the BBQ turkey legs and the choices at the Wine Shack. We purchased several healthy plants from the many vendors. The bathrooms were plentiful.and clean throughout the venue. We will return!

Flea & Street Markets
The Village Antique Mall is a treasure trove of collectibles, featuring over 60 vendors offering various antiques such as furniture and jewelry. This antique store offers a unique shopping experience for vintage enthusiasts who can spend hours exploring the vast array of items available. The place exudes an air of nostalgia that takes shoppers down memory lane with its fun finds and great deals. The owners are friendly, making visitors feel welcome while browsing through their nicely curated collection.
This antique store is lots of fun. It was easy to browse through as most items were in themed sections. I found some fall items and house decor to take home . The staff was friendly and helpful. I shared some photos to show the variety of items they had. There is so much to see. I would recommend a visit here .
Florida S — Google review
Fair amount of booths with a decent variety. Prices are rather inflated. Booths of collectors prices like boxes of comic books all labeled $9. Not sur how much bargaining they will do to bring prices into reality.
Paul S — Google review
This was a very cool experience. They have so many items to look through. It took me 2 hours to get through the store. I really appreciate the detail and the variety of vintage items they have. I felt like the pricing was sometimes a little more than I felt was necessary for certain items. But, other items were totally worth the price. I left with a tea kettle from Japan and 4 books dating between 1850 and 1926.
Taylar T — Google review
It was my first time here! First impression is that it is super quite. I really liked it, feels like you’re in the museum but can buy things 😆 This place has soooooo much stuff and you need at least 2-3 hrs to look it though. Also, definitely need to know what you’re going for as sometimes it is easier to ask rather than look though all those piles of treasure. The prices on items can be high as there are truly antiques. There are lots of vintage toys, like Barbie, Marylin Monroe, Elvis, and even Princess Diana. You can also find porcelain cups, ceramics, teapots, books, miniature statues like Precious Moments, amazing furniture, and lots of other things. You can buy with cash and card. But if it’s one thing that’s like $1, you can’t pay card. They have this rule that anything lower than $5 can’t be bought with card (cash is ok). Overall this place is a gem of Mount Dora 💎
Eva E — Google review
I absolutely adored it! It's more of a museum than a store. Stepping inside felt like entering paradise; I was in no rush to leave. I initially stumbled upon it while out for Mother's Day in the city—it happened to be next door to where we dined. But now, discovering this gem gives me yet another reason to revisit this captivating city.
Irena M — Google review
Very rude ladies working at the register. Too bad because Eva lost a sale because of you! They asked if anyone needed to checkout and no one responded to them. The customers near the register were looking in the case. Since no one responded to them they said loudly that everyone was rude and ‘weird’. Really? Get over yourselves! You should not work in the public if you can’t be pleasant! Good luck! Hire friendlier staff!

Restaurant
Fifth Avenue Streatery is a charming outdoor restaurant that has recently celebrated its first year in business despite the challenges of the pandemic. The owners, Tim Habjan and Deborah McGann, have persisted in offering Southern Fusion Meets Down-Home Cooking, All Made Daily From Scratch. They even have a special menu for dogs! The restaurant has gained popularity for its innovative take on Southern classics like fried green tomatoes and comfort foods like hotdogs.
We found this restaurant through Bringfido.com for a dog friendly atmosphere. It is an open air restaurant, basically the exterior of a converted gas station on a busy corner. However, the food is so exceptional and the staff so charming it was a hit with us. Our server, Luke, was beyond personable and attentive. I had the succulent Mt Dora Burger, oozing with flavor and cooked to perfection. The bacon potato salad was good, but the burger required my full attention and capacity. My husband had the Drunken Steer and onion rings and was fully satisfied with both. Prices are so reasonable and A++ on value for the money. We hope to try the dinner menu next time we are in the area.

Excellent service, Fantastic food, we had the Portobello Mushroom & Drunkin Steer. The Onion Rings are phenomenal. Drinks Moscato Wine & 0 alcohol Heineken. Desert NY Cheese Cake. Absolutely Recommend this restaurant. Next time we're in town it will be our go to.

I ordered the Crab Dip on Door Dash but they were out of it. They substituted the Asian Shrimp. I have eaten at this location many times and have found the food really good. The Asian Shrimp was by far the best thing I have ever eaten from this restaurant. In fact, it was one of the best things I have eaten in recent memory. I can not express how great this place is

We were in town for the first time on a day trip and wanted a place to eat outside of the hustle and bustle of downtown. Found this place on Google and decided to try it out. It was worth it. Staff was extremely friendly a.d although the seating was outdoor, the shade of the trees and nice breeze made it comfortable. The food was good as well,we had the burger, tacos and fish sandwich. All of it was good, including the shrimp appetizer. It's not fancy here, but it's also not a bad place for a quick bite.

Great place to take your favorite pooch. They have a dog menu that includes chicken and ice cream (not together). Service was great. Even the patrons were friendly!

We had lunch here because of the dog menu! Fantastic! Who does that! We found great food and better service. I had the Mt Dora burger which was cooked perfectly. I have been assessing hamburgers for years and this is in my top 10. I'd say in the top 5 in this FL area. We brought our dog and the folks couldn't have been kinder. We'll definietly be back.

Dropped by over the weekend. It wasn’t our original plan but stumbled across this little gem by pure luck. Sadly, the weather wasn’t great but the covered outdoor seating was a blessing and the heaters were on, which made a world of difference. The staff were extremely friendly, the food was very good AND THEY HAVE A DOGGIE MENU! This went down extremely well with our little pup. All-in-all a great experience and we’ll definitely be back.

Donnelly Park in Mount Dora is a must-visit destination during the holiday season, particularly in December. The park is adorned with over 2,000 twinkling holiday lights that beautifully illuminate every inch of the area. It's an enchanting sight to behold and provides a perfect opportunity for a leisurely walk after indulging in Thanksgiving feasts. While parking may be limited in the evenings, it's still reasonable to find spots just a few blocks away.

This is a quiet and relaxing spot, ideal for enjoying a meal and having pleasant conversations away from the noise of the city, including traffic horns and construction sounds. The nearby beaches offer a perfect setting to sit, sip coffee, and take in the beautiful scenery.

We had a great time shopping around the small town. We window shopped and had dinner at Lakeview inn. The meal was the highlight of the day

Nice park with lights beautifully adorned throughout. They do such a nice job of covering every inch of the park with lights and its a perfect visit to walk around and see after stuffing yourself on Thanksgiving. Parking can be a little tight if you get there later in the evening but even parking a few short blocks away isn't unreasonable. A must see and visit to the town.

We visited the farmers market and the plant festival thing. It was very nice with lots of vendors. My only complaint was not bringing a bigger vehicle to transport the thousand things I wanted to buy. Truly a quaint place with a lot of character in the downtown shops.

Coffee shop
Perched above the charming streets of downtown Mount Dora, One Flight Up Cafe offers a cozy and relaxed atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating. This popular spot is known for its balcony overlooking Main Street, providing a perfect setting for people-watching or enjoying the stellar sunsets that the area is famous for. The cafe serves up a variety of light fare including quiches, sandwiches, salads, and soups for brunch or lunch.
Had a charcuterie lunch with beer and wine. It was absolutely fantastic. We got both boards and were very happy with it. They were very shareable between two people, filling, ingredients were fresh. The honey was absolutely delicious and sweet. We sat on the second floor balcony, which added to the experience. Quick service with friendly staff. Would recommend and come again.
Eryka G — Google review
Underwhelming. Expected a bit more based on several of the reviews. Located upstairs (duh), One Flight Up has a simple cafe menu with very limited breakfast offerings. I had the Quiche (spinach, artichoke). A small slice, tasty, but overall disappointing since I paid $9. The one-size Latte, served in a plain mug, was basic, hot, but not very strong (recommend getting an extra shot) Perhaps a better lunch place. The atmosphere was the best part about the place; nice, kitchy, ample indoor and outdoor patio seating with a lot of original art with 70’s music playing in the background. Overall, not bad but not worth the price I paid. Lots of other choices in town.
David P — Google review
Charming upstairs eatery open fairly early (as Mt Dora goes) with a balcony view of Donnelly Street. During any town events, this spot fills up quickly, so the best time to enjoy it is just as soon as it opens. The bread pudding is pricey ($7.50 for a little single-serving ramekin) but absolutely delicious! Pet-friendly. Very friendly and accommodating staff.
Jordan P — Google review
Great spot in Mount Dora once you climb the stairs leaving behind the 90° weather. Staff is super friendly and pleasant. We were super hungry after checking in at an Airbnb two blocks down and we ordered take out. The Turkey Sandwiches were delicious and more than one person can consume and the quiche did not disappoint. Only one picture of our food due to being famished and devouring our meals.
Yolanda — Google review
I come here all the time. Very good service and a cozy atmosphere. Cheesey onion dip is amazing. They use fresh deli meat on the sandwiches and the egg sandwich is very filling. Not to mention the delicious frozen chai latte and blueberry muffins. But today I had a turkey Swiss sandwich to split with my daughter and the onion dip. It was perfect to share for two people. Great lunch. The bread is fresh and fluffy. Overall a great sandwich.
Jalexsa O — Google review
First time in historic Mount Dora and One Flight Up Cafe. View and service were nice. A bit busy and noisy corner. Food was just ok and basic. We had the Grilled chicken Caesar Salad and Salmon Caesar salad. The chicken was processed type and not fresh grilled chicken. My wife’s salmon salad seemed ok. I would probably try the sandwiches next time if we go.
Mike N — Google review
Nice place with great service. The food was just okay, but the coffee was great. I ordered a salmon ceasar salad which was garnished with tomatoes and crackers. The salmon was on the bland side and overcooked. The best thing about this place is the atmosphere. They have a balcony you can sit on and enjoy your meal or coffee. My mother in law says it is a great place to gather with friends and enjoy a pitcher of sangria. I would recommend the cafe for the view.
Jessica R — Google review
Cozy coffee, dessert and wine bar. Especially sitting on the balcony is a nice way to relax. The service is excellent, and dessert portion is generous. The price actually very reasonable. If able to handle the stairs, could be a good designated break time hangout while you enjoying Mount Dora.

The cuisine at Jk Thai & Sushi was satisfactory, but what perplexes me is their menu presentation. Considering the current year of 2021 and the challenges faced by businesses during a global pandemic, it is surprising to see that their menu appears blurry, distorted, and lacking in vibrant colors. While I acknowledge that some restaurants in Thailand may adopt a similar approach, I believe that this choice does not do justice to the quality of their fresh and visually appealing food.
This place is located in the beautiful city of Mt. Dora. It's a nice restaurant with a nice outdoor seating area. Although we frequent Mt Dora, this was our first time here and wished we had come sooner. The menu is great with many delicious options. The curries are excellent, I asked for super Thai spicy red curry and it was absolutely delicious!!!! We ordered several things off the menu and they were all great. The service was awesome, the server was friendly, helpful and quick to serve. I recommend trying this place and don't think you will be disappointed.

I've always been seated within moments of walking in and treated well by the staff. My wife and I have enjoyed all our meals as they have phenomenal presentation and taste to match. Regardless of how busy the restaurant is, I've always gotten my order quickly. I enjoyed the waterfall beef salad I had and my wife was a fan of the red curry. We also split a chicken satay appetizer, which has delicious peanut sauce! All of the dishes had great portion sizing and a wonderful blend of ingredients. I never felt like I was eating just greens or proteins. The seating and restaurant have always been clean and the atmosphere is nice. They do offer outdoor seating, which is lovely when the weather isn't too hot. Overall I can't recommend this place enough!

My husband, as someone who has visited Thailand, said “food was delicious and authentic.” Our waitress was sweet and attentive. Did not get a picture before we started digging into the mango sticky rice as we were so excited. Definitely will be back! Highly recommend!

This was a perfect lunch spot after our appointment in Mount Dora. My husband and I both enjoy a good curry. He had the yellow curry with chicken and I chose the green curry with chicken. His yellow curry was coconut smooth, flavorful, and filling, my green curry was nice and spicy, and the food was served very hot so we could take our time eating slowly and the food stayed warm throughout the meal. Our waitress was very pleasant and very timely in all aspects of service. The facility may be older, however I felt it was very clean and kept up, which made me relax and enjoy my food feeling that it was prepared in a hygienic and healthy environment.

Everything we had here was delicious. The service wasn’t the best we had a young lady that served us and she didn’t know the menu well but we ordered by looking at reviews. The waterfall beef was very good and the duck pho had amazing broth.

JK is a fantastic thai restaurant right in the heart of Mount Dora. The service was quick and friendly and the food was delicious. We had the red curry with chicken and enjoyed it very much. It was a bit thinner than many curries we’ve had, but packed with flavor. The Pad Ke Mao with beef had lots of vegetables and the beef was very high quality. If you’re looking for great Thai food, I highly recommend this place. They also have a patio for outdoor seating.

American restaurant
Nestled just a stone's throw from downtown Mount Dora, Jeremiah's has been a cherished family-owned establishment since 1984. This inviting spot offers casual American cuisine in a cozy atmosphere, complete with a lively bar and an energetic patio. Whether you're catching the latest sports event or enjoying time with family, the warm hospitality shines through. The restaurant features comfortable booths and multiple bar areas, making it perfect for both intimate gatherings and larger groups.
My wife and I take our son to Jeremiah’s Italian Ice all the time. This 5 ⭐️ review is long overdue. Two days ago I went with my son to J’s Ice and honestly, it was amazing! The flavors are always super fresh and bold despite my son only getting vanilla every single time. It’s always good, the texture is always smooth and perfect, not icy or too soft. The staff are always friendly and welcoming too, which makes the whole experience even better customer satisfaction is everything. 😁 I want to salute Mily her customer service was immaculate she went out her way to make sure I had wet wipes for my son even though I didn’t ask for it and she made sure that we were well taken care of. Jendalyn on the other hand, despite the downtime she had after a rush. Instead of relaxing she came out on the floor and wiped down all the tables to make sure all was clean for the next guest. J’s Ice is definitely my go-to spot for a sweet treat for my son on a hot 🥵 or cold 🥶 day. Highly recommend checking it out! If you just moved to the area. There’s no way you can miss it. It is located in the same plaza as Tropical Smoothie and it is in between Foxtail Coffee and Orange theory. If you are coming from 441 headed north after you make a right on FL-44 it will be your first right. 📍

Barbie was a pleasure to have as a waitress. She said she has been there for 25 years. That slone shows a good establishment to me. I used to come here in the 1990s. I enjoyed my cheeseburger. Cooked well, like I like them. I have had issues with other restaurants lately not believing I want well done. This one was good. We also shared a crab dip that was pretty good. The chips snd toast were a little meh. They have lots of bar areas so I was happy when we were seated in a cozy back room with comfortable booths. I appreciate comfortable seating at my age .

I really don't know where to start. Family member just moved to the area and we tried Jeremiah's. Like the others say, the decor is nice and that's about where it ends. Son ordered a steak medium rare and you can see from the pictures it was more than well done to say the least, order of baby backs tasted like it was out of the freezer thawed and re heated. My burger was ordered medium and it came dry and well done. Cold fries, the slaw looked amazing but fell short because it was very bland. The soda tasted like dirty Florida water. This place is a one and done for us and the bill was well over $100 bucks. Try another place unless you want to sit at the bar and not eat.

What can I say? This place is a lot of fun and brings to mind the hearty flavors of a good beef dish. O’Brady‘s offers a nice variety of food choices, making it a welcoming spot for any craving. The atmosphere is fantastic, with so many cool things hanging from the ceiling — definitely worth taking a good look around! You're bound to be quite impressed. Most people left satisfied with their meals, and I’d say the portion sizes are generous. The beer was wonderfully cold, parking was plentiful, and they accept both cash and credit cards, which is always convenient. Plus, they were able to comfortably accommodate our group of 17. It’s a place I’d happily visit again!

Nice little spot in Mt Dora FL ! Food was delicious and good could’ve been a little fresher salad but wasn’t bad . Wife’s fries were cold but didn’t feel like sending back. All in all not a bad place we will give them another try for sure!

So it's little older but nice place. Staff is nice and food is alright let's say better than Chili's. Lots of room and the parking is pretty easy. It's just tends to gather people from all over so be ready for different attitudes from customers. Some can be nice and some pretty rude. Some events would really help this place and little Reno to bring it up a small bit

The bar also offers 2-for-1 drink specials every day, adding to its appeal as more than just a sports bar.
Love the atmosphere and the vibe here. Excellent service, and great food! Pamela the Great was our server. She gave us great tips for our upcoming week in Daytona! 😊The owner gave all the ladies roses❤❤

I give 5 stars to our server, He was awesome. The main negative for us is that the place just seemed a little dirty from not caring or maintaining standards. We really didn't want to order food expecting the kitchen wasn't any better but we did and the food wasn't bad at all for a bar. It was ok. This place could be one we would frequent for decent bar food, reasonable drink prices and great location but they need to take it up a notch on maintaining standards that are above an average dive bar.

I heard about this place through a co worker so I decided to check it out. I came in had to wait a few minutes to be seated so I went to the restroom. Finally someone came to greet me. The same person I seen in the back of the place on her phone when I pulled up. She took my drink order and seated another couple. My drink was brought out along with theirs. She came back about 5 minutes to take my order. She took the other couple order after mines which they took for ever to order. They got busy really fast people were waiting to get drinks for a while. My burger and wings came out together. The presentation was great. My Garlic Parmesan wings were good my burger wasn't really cooked to the temperature as asked. Overall it was good. The prices are ok. They did have a special $.65 boneless wings. I had to wait for awhile to get my check cashed out but she was nice through all of it

I so wanted to live this place. It is a cute little place before town. Menu look great but execution was lacking. Wife got the chicken sandwich. It was dry 😪. I got the lakehouse burger. It was greasy. The fries were fresh cut but they did not prefer them and they were soggy and limp. The onion rings had a good batter, but the fryer temp was too low as they were greasy and the onions not cooked through.

Mt Dora is full of great places to eat. The Lake House Bar and Grill has the best hamburgers hands down. Their blue cheese burger was amazing and cooked the way I requested. Crystal, my waitress, was very helpful and got the order served without delay. They have a great outdoor eating area that had plenty of shade. If you are in Mt Dora do not miss out on the best burgers in town.

Real nice place. Came here for breakfast had the Shrimparoonie and it was great. Staff very friendly. Service is very good. Plenty of seating at bar area and dining area. Watch out for wobbly tables😂😂. Bar area has nice TVs to watch sports. Come check it out.

I don’t see where all the negative comments are coming from about the staff. They’re always nice and very accommodating the past couple times I’ve been there. The breakfast omelettes are definitely worth the little 15 minute or so wait. The owner and (at the time) was head cook that day even came out to shake my hand and ask if everything was okay. It was great! I recommend The Lake House formerly known as Sidelines to anyone who enjoys a good brunch and mimosas! 😊 PS. The Bar Rescue episode was all staged.

Floridian restaurant
1921 Mount Dora is an upscale dining destination located in a historic 1921 house across from the Modernism Museum in Mount Dora, Florida. The restaurant offers elevated cuisine by renowned chef Norman Van Aken, focusing on local Florida ingredients prepared with a modern and sustainable approach. The dining experience is complemented by rotating art displays from the museum, including a Murano glass chandelier and hand-crafted furniture.
We had the best time eating here. We were celebrating our friend's birthday. Service was fantastic, food was AMAZING, and the bar staff makes some phenomenal drinks. I think my favorite was their Old Fashioned. Food is locally sourced and everything is fresh. The roasted oysters - holy cow were awesome! A must appetizer while they're still on the menu.

We had the pleasure of sharing this experience with our family & friends. This was our first time visiting 1921 in m Mount Dora FL. the establishment, initially, we were uncertain about what to anticipate. Nevertheless, I am thrilled to report that the experience was truly exceptionally amazing, from beginning to end. The atmosphere, replete mosaic historic ambiance, the impeccable cleanliness of the restaurants alluring aromas were lovely. The culinary experience was remarkable, with each dish presenting a delightful combination of flavors. Again, the food (((WoW) this was a delicious, delightful palette pleasing experience. Our server provided exemplary service, showcasing professionalism and courtesy. The impeccable service, I will say, that each bite was delightful. We even received a tour of the restaurant by our Sous Chef Mr. Daniel Hernandez. I would highly recommend that you join us in this experience, as the satisfaction exceeded our expectations by above and beyond 100%

Really enjoy this restaurant. The food is fresh, the drinks are good and the service is great. It is priced a little high but the quality of ingredients is high and they are proudly serving vegetables sourced from local farms. I will say their filet is exquisite! Parking sort of stinks, but that’s Mt Dora for you!

The inside of this restaurant is modern-day art, so beautiful, so breathe taking the food was fantastic. The host set us right away she was very nice. The sever CJ was always checking in on us to see if we needed anything. waygu burger that was out of this world 🌎 I would definitely come back here again, and also, thank you for putting my birthday on the menu 💯💯💯💯💯👍👍👍👍👍😁

The drinks are fantastic, but the food doesn't quite measure up. I'd recommend coming for cocktails, though be aware the oysters were on the small side.

Solid 4 star experience. We liked everything but weren't blown away. The happy hour is definitely the highlight of this place. 4-6:30 with $8 cocktail menu, $7 well drinks, and a limited appetizer menu. We had the watermelon pickled shrimp with vegetables on toast. It was very good. For entrees we had parpadelle Bolognese made with beef, duck, and pork, and the pork ribeye on a bed of some type of beans with peppers. Both entrees were tasty and hit the spot but were they worth $40 each, eh probably not. This restaurant does constantly change the menu so others' experiences might be a little better and some might be worse. But overall I'd say this is a great place, and probably the best happy hour in mt Dora.

Octopus, roasted oysters and chicken thighs were amazing! Don’t recommend the mussels but the rest of the food and service was amazing.

Seafood restaurant
Pisces Rising is a popular seafood and steakhouse in Florida that offers Caribbean-inspired cuisine. The restaurant is housed in a Florida bungalow and features a beautiful deck with waterfront views. Known for its upscale dining experience, Pisces Rising uses fresh, local ingredients to create their flavorful dishes. With a casual lakefront setting and occasional live music performances, it's an enjoyable spot for lunch or dinner.
So good, we came here TWICE in one weekend! Came because it was on the "Best of 2025" list. We lucked out at 6:30 pm on a Friday and walked right in without a reservation. Our server was absolutely lovely and we LOVED our dinners. Recommend the Dora Canal cocktail, shrimp and grits, and the skirt steak. Both dishes had leftovers to take home. On our return trip, we visited the bar and listened to a great band play the town's namesake song. The noise level outside at the bar was perfect - still able to talk without yelling despite the band playing. One of the few restaurants that have a water view, and loved our visits! 100% recommend!

Wow beautiful presentations of the deserts!!! We ordered the blueberry cheesecake🫐, Creme brûlée🍮 as well as the chocolate cherry cake🍒…..and let me tell you they tasted AMAZING! Not only was the way they looked aesthetically pleasing, but they tasted phenomenal! Angela was amazing and super kind. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful sky view😍

Pisces Rising has without a doubt the best location for dining in Mount Dora. We enjoyed an excellent dinner on the terrace facing the lake, which made the evening truly special. The food was delicious, we had the paella, and it was outstanding. Service was very good, attentive without being intrusive, and the atmosphere relaxing and elegant at the same time. There’s also a nice bar option in the back, plus both indoor and outdoor dining, making it a versatile choice for any occasion.

My wife and I dined here on August 12, 2025 while visiting Mount Dora in conjunction with a nearby camping trip to Kelly Park in nearby Apopka. Prior to our trip, we had read the good reviews about this place, so we decided to check it out. Unfortunately we neglected to make a reservation, but we walked in about 5:15 pm thinking we could get a window-side table, but unfortunately those had all been reserved by other diners, who all showed up at around 6:00 pm. The restaurant looks like it used to be a large house or inn, and it sits up on the side of a hill overlooking the small Mount Dora Yacht Club and beautiful Lake Dora. It has a large wood deck with tables outside, an outside bar that seats about 25, and an inside elevated bar that seats about 20, and large inside dining room with about 20 tables. We were seated in a back corner below the bar, but still had a decent view of the lake. Our server was very professional, polite and prompt. My wife had the Wedge Salad and I had the Seafood Paella (a specialty here) and both of our meals were delicious. If you are visiting Mount Dora, Tavares, or Leesburg, this place is one of the top restaurants in the area and definitely worth a visit to for casual, but upscale dining. I would definitely recommend you make a reservation, particularly if you are planning to dine here anytime during the busy fall and winter months when tourists and snowbirds abound. We were there in mid-August and it was still quite busy with local residents by the time we finished dinner at 7:30 pm. It certainly has the best water view of any other restaurant in Mount Dora.

A must visit if you want a scenic view overlooking the lake. Mount Dora was such a beautiful little town. I really enjoyed spending time there. The outdoor patio was very dog friendly and it was a relaxing, cool vibe. My only complaint was the salad I ordered was marinated steak tips and I don’t know what they did, but the meat was inedible because it was so sour. Perhaps the wrong marinade or marinated too long 🤪.

Great! Pisces Rising is worth it. Chefs, Ellis our waiter, and waterfront ambiance were all fantastic. They recommended Shrimp and Grits, Mushroom Ravioli, and Ceasar Salad which were all delicious and filling. We will return again. P.S. - Who is the Richy guy? 😄

I thought i did this 2 years ago and am just realizing it never happened 😭 this vendor was the only vendor of our whole wedding that we would recommend. people still tell us how delicious our food was and how much they enjoyed the wedding. We had a cutting station with the steak and the chimichurri sauce and also went with what was essentially a white wine chicken and it was so delicious. We had about 200 or so guests and 2 years later, everyone still reminds us how delicious our food was. They don't talk about the venue, the flowers, the bar. But EVERYONE mentions the food. Amazing and would absolutely recommend. By the way, the tasting was also equally amazing. We were so unsure of things at the time with what we were planning with the vendors, but we felt so confident with our food vendor and again in retrospect... best decision we ever made. could not go with a better choice for a wedding food vendor. THANK YOU CHRIS and the Pisces rising team

Rusty Anchor Mount Dora offers various cruise options, including a 30-minute tour for those looking to spend some time on the water. The knowledgeable and humorous Captain provides insights into the area's mansions, local fauna, and nature, with sightings of alligators at the alligator cave. The boat is comfortable and equipped with complimentary water. Guests can enjoy a historical tour guided by an informative co-captain while admiring stunning vegetation and wildlife, such as bald eagles.
Cannot recommend these guys enough. We had Sean as our captain. Sean (after Sean Connery) was informative, passionate and respectful of wildlife. It was great to see a part of Florida, and to see Alligators in their natural habitat without being disturbed or provoked. 100% recommend the 2 hour trip so you get to see the canals. A bonus to see a Bald Eagle and an Osprey when heading back to Mount Dora.

We took the 3 hr. sunset dinner cruise. The captain was friendly but new to the area. I thought we'd get a little more history and see more wildlife. However, he was kind to make sure we had ample time for sunset pictures and offered to take pictures and maneuvered the boat for the best views. There is complimentary water and we were comfortable with the seating. I enjoyed the fact we had dinner in Tavares and could enjoy a different water front. Their choice of restaurants for dinner was OKeefes. Excellent choice and short walk. I re commend no matter how hot it is ( it was 88 when we went) take a sweater just in case. It gets breezy and you may feel some water spray. Easy to find. Tight parking area with limited space so arrive early.

I was searching for things to do with my five high school friends visiting from Pittsburgh and found Rusty Anchor boat tour. Based on the reviews and wanting to provide them with a Florida experience I booked the lunch boat cruise through the Dora Canal. We stopped at the Fish Camp for lunch. Everyone really enjoyed the tour with Captain Ray especially the Dora Canal. I want to book a tour with my grand children when they visit. Highly recommend the day tour.

We were to go on July 4th for the fireworks. It got rained out, so we rebooked for the next day. 2 hours on the lake and we did the Lake Dora Canal. We really enjoyed ourselves. Our Captain and First Mate were very nice. So informative!! Thank you for a great tour!

We had the pleasure of a sunset tour with Hassan, and it was one of the best experiences we’ve had in Florida. We’ve been on many tours across the state, but Hassan stood out, he shared fascinating facts I had never heard before. He’s like a living library, clearly speaking from a deep level of knowledge and passion. The evening itself was nothing short of magical. The water was calm, the wildlife was active, and the sunset was stunning everything aligned for the perfect tour. Hassan also recommended we come back to try the canal tour, and after this experience, we definitely will. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a serene, memorable adventure on the water. Thank you Hassan for everything!

Nestled in the charming town of Mount Dora, Florida, Shiva Indian Restaurant is a delightful family-owned gem that specializes in traditional Indian and vegetarian cuisine. This cozy eatery, adorned with beautiful gold artwork and serene decor, offers a warm atmosphere perfect for enjoying bold flavors inspired by India and Pakistan. Guests rave about their generous portions and unique dishes like Shrimp Biryani, which has garnered praise as some of the best Indian food across America.
This is a great gem in the historic downtown Mount Dora. The Indian food is terrific. If you think you don’t appreciate Indian food, give this a try. The flavors are great. I spoke with the server and all of the dishes are made to order. The chicken and lentil dishes were great!

This is absolutely ridiculous I never leave reviews but I’m fed up with this place delivery, you’re spending 25+ on a meal and look at the portions these people giving. The rice isn’t even enough for a kids. Absolutely ridiculous. Like come on have some pride everyone complaining about the same nonsense, I understand you’re the only Indian spot in mt Dora so u feel like u can take advantage of the people here but damn man charge more if u so greedy and give people enough food to have a meal man! I don’t mind paying more but it seems you’re all about maximizing profit while screwing your customers. Makes no damn sense! This the last time yal get my money im over it. Btw the pic of the rice isn’t a fluke that thing is one adult portion lol

Went here for my daughter's birthday. I have been many times before as well. The restaurant is nice and food is good. The server we had was clearly new and struggled with taking a simple order. But I'm sure that's more of a rarity there. The butter chicken and cheese Naan were amazing as always. My only complaint on the food was the rice portion was small. Very skimpy on the rice. But overall a great meal.
Randy T — Google review
The owner of this place is very rude and nasty. If I could rate it negative zero I would. Butter chicken didn’t look or taste like butter chicken and he had the audacity to tell me everyone else eat it for me to eat it. I’ll eat Mc Donald before eating anything there. Never again and I DO NOT RECOMMEND that nasty place. Rice was very clumpy.
Nessa S — Google review
Update: do not order takeout for this restaurant. You will get less food for the same price. I honestly don't know what they were thinking. Maybe they need more/different food containers to support the food proportions you get when u sit inside. ___________________ This is a beautiful Indian restaurant with delicious food! Coming from NYC it was difficult to find a nearby Indian restaurant nearby until I found Shiva. I had the samosa chaat and chili cauliflower which were both very flavorful. I will definitely return!

The restaurant was very relaxing with very kind servers! The food was very authentic and made my fiancée happy. We enjoyed the meal in a very peaceful and clean environment. The atmosphere had a very artistic and musical vibe! I would most definitely recommend new visitors to try this authentic Indian cuisine! The menu is easy to read and the prices are affordable! Thank you very much for our early dine in this afternoon. Have a blessed week!

I wanted to try this place for so long. I was not disappointed. Food was delicious, well seasoned, and the right amount of spiciness. Lamb chops were outstanding 👌. Naan bread was delicious. The potatoes were also very tasty. There is something about food when the chef pays attention to details. It takes food to the next level. This became one of my favorite places in Mount Dora. Service was good too, very friendly and welcoming.

We normally LOVE Shiva, we always recommend to family and friends. Great restaurant, great flavors. But tonight we ordered takeout and it was downright bland. Very little flavor in the lamb korma, the chicken korma was absent of flavor completely and was only spicy (we ordered it spicy). Our order was ready exactly when we were told it would be, so no issues with service at all. Very friendly staff. Small, but cozy atmosphere. So sad because we usually love this place, but so disappointed in this visit’s food. Also when I went to the restaurant to pick the order up, the place was empty, not a single table taken. This was on a Saturday night and downtown was bustling. I hope this isn’t a glimpse into the future of Shiva.

The Frog and Monkey Restaurant & Pub is a classic cellar pub that serves traditional bar food like fish 'n' chips and hosts live music events. The establishment also features an old British bar atmosphere, making it a unique spot to grab a meal or drinks. Additionally, the venue has been known to host performances by American Idol contestant David Oliver Willis and other local musicians. Customers can enjoy cold draft beers while taking in the lively ambiance of this underground pub.
Visited The Frog and Monkey in Mt. Dora and now I get why it’s a local favorite. It’s a cool little spot with a laid-back, tucked-away vibe—perfect for grabbing a bite and escaping the crowds. I had the Ruby Burger, and it was seriously delicious. Perfectly cooked, juicy, and stacked with flavor. You can tell they know their way around a burger here. We started with the beer-battered mushrooms, and they were a hit—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and packed with flavor. Definitely recommend if you’re into appetizers that don’t feel like an afterthought. Service was friendly, the food came out hot, and overall it was a great experience. If you’re in Mt. Dora and craving a good burger and some comfort food with a twist, this place should be on your list.

The Frog and Monkey in Mount Dora is an absolute gem tucked away in the basement of the historic Renaissance building. The ambiance is fantastic, blending a cozy pub vibe with a touch of mystery thanks to the building’s reputation for spirits—both the ghostly kind and the liquid kind! Word has it the pub might even have some friendly ghosts of its own, adding to its unique charm. The drink selection is excellent, offering a wide array of cocktails, wines, and beers. There’s truly something for everyone. The food is equally impressive. I tried their wings with the house blueberry and maple sauce, and they were absolutely delicious—I had no trouble finishing every last bite! My girlfriend opted for the banh mi tacos, which she thoroughly enjoyed. The live music was a definite highlight, adding energy and fun to the already great vibes. The service was friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. If you’re in Mount Dora and looking for a spot with good food, great drinks, and a lively atmosphere (maybe even a ghostly encounter), The Frog and Monkey is a must-visit. Highly recommend!

Great happy hour. Downstairs, cute place. Feels like a local place. You can even get your beer to go. The problem with this place, is there is a piano in the corner that is amplified. People, especially drunk people, sit at the piano and bang away. The noise in such a small place. It's intolerable. We had to leave, thank goodness we could get our beer to go. Not sure who thought a public piano in a bar was a good idea.

Wandering the downtown Mount Dora for an evening during the Christmas season, we were hungry and found ourselves going downstairs to the Frog & Monkey Restaurant & Pub. Nights are busy for Christmas in this historic district, so we were pleased to be seated immediately, albeit at the bar. The employees were dressed for the season, and we enjoyed the live music of a guitarist/singer playing classic rock music on the little stage in the corner. We enjoyed looking around at the eclectic memorabilia while we waited for our meals. We enjoyed the aroma of fresh burgers being cooked, so our appetites were piqued when our food arrived. The burgers were as good as they smelled, if a bit more rare than ordered. Long story long, our meal at the Frog & Monkey contributed in a huge way to the enjoyment of our pre-Christmas evening. There is a more-than-reasonable chance we will dine here again. I definitely recommend you visit this bar in the alley the next time you're downtown Mount Dora and you're hungry - or just for a quick drink. It's worth it!

I ordered food here and when we get it home, I open it up and as you can see in the picture. How small that is, they charged $19 for it. I call in about it to let them know that I was unhappy and they said that there was nothing that they can do. I do not recommend this place. They are way overpriced for the amount of food that you get. That container is literally three inches in size that's what you get for $19. Its called cottage pie. If you don't mind being overcharged, eat here, but I wouldn't suggest it. Especially in these hard times we work hard for our money.

Was absolutely amazing. We came to Florida for a vacation. And we ended up getting engaged last night so we went out on a date today and chose to go here. It was wonderful. Everyone was very nice, it is very clean, food came out so quick and was delicious. We got bbq wings, steak wrap, and a bacon cheeseburger. We were shocked how quickly they came out with the food. And how inexpensive everything is. We left the server a large tip because she was amazing and she made our first dinner as an engaged couple even better.

I was here for the craft fair. The place was busy so I figured it was good. Unfortunately this was a bust. My Mom and I ordered a Fall Sangria which was the most sour tasting drink I have ever had. After one sip we asked our server Laz if we could get a different drink. He said all alcohol sales are final so we would be charged anyhow. After adding sugar to the drink from the table, we were able to drink it though it was not good. The Reuben had chunks of corn beef with lots of fat. Burger was ok but not well seasoned. I would not come here again.

The outdoor seating offers a fantastic vantage point for people-watching while savoring dishes like the flavorful "Don't Stand So Close To" appetizer or their signature Sausage Party pizza.
This place is a gem! From the incredible food and drinks to the top-notch service, you won’t be disappointed. Sabrina at the front sets the bar high—her expertise, leadership, and patience in training the team truly shine. Rachel, the GM, is equally impressive and a delight to chat with. Since moving to the area, this has become our go-to spot. The atmosphere is welcoming, the service is exceptional, and the food? Outstanding. You must try the Notorious Fig pizza (see pic)—it’s a game-changer. Highly recommended!

Back Porch Pizza Bar is such a hidden gem! I absolutely loved their wings—perfectly seasoned and cooked just right. The pizza was incredibly delicious, with a dough that struck the perfect balance: crispy on the outside and soft and chewy inside. Back Porch Pizza Bar is a fantastic spot with amazing pizza, great atmosphere, and excellent staff service. We tried the four-cheese with ricotta and the Italian pepperoni, both packed with flavor and that unforgettable touch of the brick oven. Prices are a little on the higher side, but the experience of enjoying pizza outdoors, surrounded by the beautiful Spanish moss, makes it absolutely worthwhile. If you’re visiting Mount Dora, I highly recommend checking out this place. The food was incredible. The pizza was expertly crafted with an ideal balance of toppings and flavor combinations. The service was friendly and attentive, and the ambiance was pleasant. On Saturday nights, they even have live music. I’m definitely going back next time I visit Mount Dora.

The pizza here ITS THE BEST! the place is lively and the waiters are kind. Just the front desk young men that was a little rude, but not enough to ruin the experience. I’ll definitely go back!

Delicious pizza was made fresh in front of us and cooked in a brick oven. Had the pepperoni and the crust was perfect. Sabrina was exceptional. Friendly, attentive, and fast service. Highly recommend.

This place is amazing! The crust is thin and delicious! My husband and I say we could eat the bruschetta every day! We got a half and half pizza. One half was the baller and one half was nortorius F.i.g! Such flavor!!Tamera Lee was such a friendly server! Great atmosphere! Go here :)

My husband and I truly enjoyed our evening at this delightful little spot. The bartender Sabrina was incredible and made exceptional drinks. The pizza was excellent and the wings were off the chart. We spotted this place the night before and just had to try it out. So glad we did. If you come to Mount Dora come belly up to the bar and enjoy great food and service.

German restaurant
The Bavarian Haus is a cozy German-inspired restaurant located in Mount Dora, offering a relaxed atmosphere and outdoor patio seating. The menu features traditional German food such as Schnitzel with various toppings, complemented by a selection of German beer or wine. Guests can also enjoy lunch specials and delicious pastries paired with German coffee. The friendly service and reasonable prices make it an ideal spot for dining with family or friends.
As someone raised on German food, it was fantastic. Had the jagerschnitzel, red cabbage and Knurdles. Sauce was incredibly rich and flavorful. Red Kraut had the proper amount of cloves and vinegar, if you know, you know. A little dark, but had it been a tad warmer I would have sat on their outside seating. Absolutely recommended and was surprised they weren’t busier.

As a German American, I am always excited to find a good German restaurant in Florida…well this is not one! Terrible service by a rude server and manager. We were there for 2 hours and we only ordered sandwiches. The place was not full. My veal schnitzel was overcooked and dry. No sides or toppings with the food. At least my imported Munich beer was cold and tasty.
Steve S — Google review
Food is great. Better than hollerbach over at Sanford. Everything was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. Some issues I had was the space was small, food to a long time to come out, and there's a share plate charge. What that means is that if you have people who are not really eating but just snacking off of your plate then they will charge you 10 per person for them to be there. I'm told it's on the menu but I think it would be great if the server mentioned it was well. Would've just bought food for them as good as the food was.

My family and I were so excited to go here, the service was awesome! the manager/hostess was very charismatic and amazing at informing us about the German cuisine. It was a nice touch to have the great chef personally brining us our food from time to time. Great ambiance to go with family or friends, and prices are very reasonable for the great quality of food you’re getting. Don’t forget to try the cheese strudel, we ended up getting both the apple and cheese they were fantastic! Will be going back

On 7/4/25 (Happy 4th!!), Lala was our server and she was awesome! Great Bier, amazing food, and perfect service!! We couldn’t ask for more. In our opinion, one of the best hidden gems in Mt Dora! ❤️ we had a HUGE Bitburger, a Raspberry ale, German pretzel, German chocolate cake, and potato pancakes. ** Burger King sign, best sign ever!!! Love it❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Freyja J — Google review
The food & service was good but somehow if you just want water you pay $3 bottled while others at the table who ordered a beverage got a glass of water at no charge BUT the reason I'll never go back is we can't eat large meals in the evening & chose to split (my husband even added a bowl of soup) at that point she should have mentioned a "split" fee ( I would have ordered something to go) because we were shocked to have another $10 added to our bill for a plate!! sorry left a bad taste in our mouth - too 👎 bad

I had a great experience. Welcoming place, excellent service, cold beer. The potato salad and the Veil delicious. The sausages great. I don’t remember the name but it has lamb. I totally recommend, different ambiance, great food and excellent service. I’ll be back and try more.

This place was really cute inside. The food was great and service was friendly. We got there early around 5pm on a Saturday to make sure we could get seated relatively quick. Due to limited seating for social distancing, we got there at a great time. We ordered the potato pan cakes, the Schweinbraten, Sauerbraten, and chicken schnitzel. All were very well cooked and delicious. Then we were torn with the 3 desserts they had so we ordered 1 of each: Black Forest cake-one of the best I've ever had, Apple Strudel and Cheese Strudel. Both just melted in your mouth, the dough was delicate and none were overly sweet. We will definitely be visiting again soon!

Maggie's Attic is a cozy wine and beer store with a bar, live music events, and frequent tasting sessions. Visitors can explore the whimsical wall plaques and excellent wine selections before choosing fantastic bottles to enjoy. The space offers a sweet spot upstairs for relaxation and conversation.
Amazing little find!! We were aimlessly walking around Mt Dora and stumbled upon this amazing find! We spent the first 30 min just perusing around the place, taking in all the whimsical wall plaques and excellent wine selections. We finally selected several fantastic bottles & enjoyed them immensely. The man who checked us out was incredibly helpful and even accommodated our random request. Sweet spot upstairs to sip, relax, converse...we saw him later taking another guy's order to his car. Turns out, he was the humble owner! Great selection, perfect little location, quaint atmosphere... HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Maggie’s Attic is a wonderful little wine bar in historic downtown Mount Dora. They have a great selection of wines at good prices, and it’s a welcoming spot whether you’re a local or just visiting. The real highlight for us has been the Wine Walks. Held on the first and third Saturday evenings of each month, these tastings feature more than 20 wines from around the world, spread across different venues downtown. It’s fun to stroll through the charming streets with glass in hand, tasting and chatting along the way. The locals and regulars who attend are always friendly, and we’ve had some great conversations and made new friends at these events. Joining their wine club is also a fantastic value, the membership is inexpensive and includes entry for two people to the Wine Walks at no additional cost. The evenings don’t end with the tastings either, after the walk, there’s live music in the courtyard. We especially enjoy when Sal & Izy play. Inside, there’s also a quiet upstairs with vinyl records and a record player. It’s a cozy little nook, perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine. All in all, Maggie’s Attic offers not only a strong wine program but also a real sense of community. Whether you’re here for a casual glass, looking to buy bottles at a good price, or want to experience the fun of a Wine Walk, this is a must-visit in Mount Dora.

The Salted Fry is a delightful sandwich shop that offers a variety of gluten-free options, including their famous truffle fries and club sandwich. Located in the charming town of Mount Dora, this eatery also serves Belgian-style fries and an array of hot and cold sandwiches. Visitors can also enjoy unique beverages like Flying Cauldron butterscotch beer soda. The cozy atmosphere and excellent service make it a perfect stop for a quick snack while exploring the town.
First time visit specifically because Salty Fry is completely gluten free. The staff was so good. We caused a problem when one of our group started reading someone else’s order. Of course then someone had a meal they couldn’t eat. The staff just smiled and made it right. The food was great. The dining room was very Simple and could be cooler. I recommend it to all people who eat gluten free. Remember it is a burger a sandwich joint. You’re not getting a steak or salmon.

A small casual sandwich shop tucked away at the edge of the downtown area with plenty of seating in and out. Food ordered: Truffle Fries, “Bacon Smash” burger, “Mushroom Swiss Smash” burger, “Gnome Delight Ham Sandwich” and a couple of Boylan sodas. There was very little mushrooms and onions on the mushroom Swiss smash, but other than that everything was delicious and came to the table quickly. The sodas were made with real cane sugar. The fries looked fresh cut and the portions will definitely fill you up. The staff was friendly and they checked up on us often even though it’s not that type of eating establishment. The menu was small, but what was offered makes you want try a bit of everything.

Definitely worth checking out, even if it’s a little out of the way! The downtown area’s fun to walk around with plenty to see and do. The fries taste homemade and are super good, and there are tons of sauces to try — all really solid. The burgers are great quality too, but the poutine stole the show for me. I haven’t had poutine that good since my trip to Canada!

I’ve been coming to Mount Dora’s craft fair for over 30 years now and just love that I can eat at a dedicated gf restaurant as for health reasons I have to eat gluten free. We received delicious food both right before the weekend of the fair and during the fair (we ate there twice during our stay). I at first thought the person who was waiting on us was the owner as she was very attentive to all the patrons, offering to get us all anything else, offering desserts etc…. all with great care! I went up to the counter to take advantage of the gluten-free bread pudding offer, and asked if she was the owner and she said no…. much to my surprise. I learned her name was Christine and continue to express how grateful I was for the food and her service. Well, I know it takes more than one person to run a restaurant but her light was shining especially bright!!! She was definitely an asset to the running of the restaurant on the normal day as well as during the craft fair weekend with the line out the door. Thank you again Christine for the attentive care you gave all of us, and thank you Salted Fry for creating a work environment where someone like she would want to work. Looking forward to next year already!!

The cozy ambiance features small tables perfect for seating around 20 people, with fast and friendly service. In addition to their delectable ice cream, they also offer other tempting treats.
They have vegan options! Really glad I found this place while looking for a sweet treat. They had a small variety of vegan options and even offer a shake with oat milk. I got a double scoop of wild strawberry and key lime. It was so good but be warned their portions are HUGE! I could not finish the double scoop. Next time I come back to the area I’ll definitely be back but for a single scoop. Friendly staff!

Super cute retro ice cream shop in the heart of downtown Mount Dora. (Totally felt like we were in an episode of Stranger Things!) They have a TON of ice cream flavors- with a cone or scoop option. They also have a bakery with cupcakes and other baked goods. I was excited to see they had a vegan option- Chocolate Cookie! My friend got the (regular) mint chocolate chip. Lots of Hershey brand ice creams. I really wanted to like the vegan ice cream option- but it had a sandy/dirt like texture to me. My friend loved his mint chocolate chip in a classic cone, though! The place was busy every time we walked past. There were only 2 employees working- both scooping and taking payments. They were nice but seemed pretty stressed out for how busy they were (July 3rd during a Fourth of July festival).

The restaurant is housed in a historic residence and features artful masterpieces, including a Murano glass chandelier and hand-crafted tables. With a focus on local Florida ingredients, the elevated fare by celebrated chef Norman Van Aken pays homage to modernity and sustainability.
I had a hard time finding this place. I think we circled the block twice. That being said once we got in there it is a warm dark atmosphere that offers world class food. Best meal I have had in Mt. Dora and there are some good spots around town. I have a hard time trying new spots and not just returning each time I am back. This magical little restaurant was quite the surprise! If you are in Mt Dora or planning to visit, The Goblin Restaurant should be on your dining list! Walking into the restaurant, I immediately thought of Narnia. I felt like we were transported into this beautiful, secret library and fed the most delicious meal! Everything we ordered from the deviled eggs appetizer to the crème brûlée dessert was incredible! I recommend the gourmet toasted cheese, it a classy/elevated grilled cheese with caramelized onions and bacon! So delicious! Our server was very attentive, we waited for nothing and were not rushed! I am looking forward to returning for dinner in the near future! Well done, Goblin Market!! 5 ⭐️

Came in recently to enjoy lunch with a friend and my infant son. We were promptly greeted at the front and only had to wait a few minutes to be seated. We had a stroller with us other wise we would have been immediately sat up stairs. We started with some apps and drinks. I had the Irish whiskey onion soup, my friend had the crab bisque and we split the ciabatta board, these were paired with the red red wine and my boyfriend’s back. Everything was delicious! Our server Victoria was kind, attentive, and patient while we picked out our mains. To be fair everything sounded appetizing so it was difficult to pick just one! We landed on the toasted cheese and cashew chicken sandwich. Both very good and filling. We’ve made note to come back again and possibly try dinner. Although this was a bit of a pricey lunch, the food, the service, and time was worth it. IMO

If you are in Mount Dora, I highly recommend visiting. It's a fun atmosphere, while being a little more upscale. We did only visit the dining room on the first floor. We visited mid-June in 2025. We came for the whiskey irish onion soup. It was topped with fried onions, which was just ok for me. The broth was very good, but overall it wasn't what I was expecting. I ordered the sesame-garlic salmon plate. I have recently stopped eating salt, so I am tasting it quite a bit more. I felt this was a bit salty for my taste, but other than that it had good flavors. The portion was generous, and it was light enough after having the bowl of soup. My husband had their burger, which he did enjoy. I would definitely come back, and try something different. I loved the waiter and atmosphere.

My wife and I dined here in the early evening of August 13, 2025 in conjunction with a camping trip at nearby Kelly Park about 12 miles away. We had read about it prior to our trip, but we neglected to make a dinner reservation. It was a little hard to find, but we stumbled upon it in a side street after asking a local for directions as we explored downtown Mount Dora in search of it. When we arrived, the hosted said they were fully booked for the evening (and it was a Wednesday night in the summer off season), but she said there were two seats at the bar upstairs. We gladly accepted her offer, and were impressed by the beautiful inside decor and atmosphere of the restaurant as we walked to the bar to be seated. The bar and adjacent high top tables were not full yet (at 6:00 pm) so we sat and chatted with the two very friendly and professional bartenders for a few minutes, then order drinks and an appetizer (Puff Pastry Escargot). The appetizer was SO GOOD, we decided to stay and eat a full dinner, so my wife ordered a salad with beef tenderloin tips, and I ordered a rolled asiago chicken and a side cesar salad. Everything was just FIRST CLASS declicious and presented like a 5-star fine dining restaurant. This is probably the finest caliber dining you can find in Mount Dora or nearby towns of Tavares and Leesburg.

We have been looking for a place like this for a long time. The service was professional and so kind. Our waitress Sara was so knowledgeable. She gave great recommendations and spoke so highly of the ingredients used. It was a pleasure speaking with her and very impressed with the pride she had in working at the Gobblin Market. The food did not let us down. After eating at so many disappointing places this was a gem to find. You can tell from only being there once that they are consistent. We ordered the ciabatta bread platter to start. My husband had the bacon jam burger and I had the cashew chicken sandwich. The food was hot and everything was absolutely delicious. The way food should be made and served. For dessert we had the crèmé brulé with strawberries and whipped cream. Needless to say there was nothing left on the plate. We cannot wait to come back. Congratulations on such an amazing menu!!!! 👏

Stopped in for lunch while in Mt Dora was blown away by how great everything was. Their Ruben used very tasty lean corn beef and the rye bread tasted fresh. The bangers and mash were flavorful as well with onion gravy and peas. The carrot cake stole the show though. Absolutely moist and served with a drizzle of caramel and whip cream. Glad we came in.

This was my second time here and my mother's first, but it will not be our last! We had the chai french vanilla tea and I had the carrot cake while my mother had the lemon mascarpone cake. It was all so delicious and made for a great start to a lovely afternoon. Thank you Marsha and Tracy! 💗

We enjoyed a lovely Full English High Tea here, and the atmosphere, which transports you to the UK straight from Mount Dora. The owner accommodated our reservation despite a busy Jubilee event schedule, which we greatly appreciated, and it was a terrific last stop for our Mount Dora visit. If you are a tea fan, don't miss it!

A quaint and cultured restaurant that specializes in high tea and British classics. We are always treated well here. You won't want to pass up the opportunity to try their pies and scones.

I love this place the food is amazing! I hosted a tea party for my best friends baby shower. It was affordable and for a small fee you can bring your own cake. I highly recommend the scones...when you are done with your lunch, I suggest taking a stroll around the lovely mount Dora area. Prime location for an afternoon outing.

Mexican restaurant
Fiesta Grande Mexican Grill in Mount Dora offers a vibrant and cozy atmosphere where you can enjoy hearty Mexican dishes and refreshing margaritas. This family-owned restaurant is beloved by locals for its extensive menu featuring classic favorites like nachos, tacos, chimichangas, and queso. The portion sizes are generous, especially with their combination platters that offer a variety of flavors on one plate. Customers rave about the choriqueso with Mexican sausage and melted cheese.
Some friends invited us to supper there saying that the food was great. Their words if advice couldn't of been more accurate. We got seated right away and enjoyed a margarita while waiting for our food. Which didn't take long after our order was taken. The food came out hot and delicious. I am a burrito nut and the steak burrito was loaded full of flavor and garnishments. The prices were very reasonable even with drinks. Will definitely make a trip back there even thou it took us an hour to drive there.

I was on a food tour when I tried this place. We got fresh chips and salsa. Both were delicious. The salsa was a bit spicy but still had really good flavor. The chips were fresh. We got a delicious margarita, this place does not use wells the use Jose Cuervo. We also had a chicken taquito. So yummy. The chicken has perfect flavor and the outside was nice and crispy.

My wife and I dined here on August 11, 2025. We'd initially just walked in while exploring downtown Mt. Dora to enjoy a Margarita during happy hour, but decided to dine at the bar because the bartender (Thomas) was very friendly, and we saw how good some of the plated entrees looked and smelled as they exited the kitchen door beside where we were seated. My wife had the Beef Enchiladas Delux and I had the sampler Mexican Dinner, and both were absolutely delicious. The Margaritas were also made with fresh ingredients and top shelf Grande Centenario tequila. The atmosphere here is boisterous in the step down bar, but the chairs were comfortable and the decor was in keeping with the festive restaurant name. I will definitely dine here again the next time I visit Mount Dora because the food is delicious and the prices are pretty reasonable.

12/23/24 Music is too loud in the dining room. The kitchen was behind with the order after 8:30 pm and the restaurant was half capacity. Good food presentation and flavor. The Christmas cocktails are very impressive. Our favorite Christmas cocktail was the White Christmas Margarita, so good and full of flavor with enough amount of tequila. The waitress was very polite and apologized a couple of times because of the delay in the kitchen. The bar looks like a Christmas postcard. For a Monday at Christmas time, the best option is this Mexican restaurant.

Don’t get the take out. I spent 70 dollars on tacos and quesadillas and the tacos were extremely wet and falling apart and it looked like a 3 year old slapped it together. It was all cold nothing was warm. There was also no cheese on the tacos. Edit: after calling and talking to the manager they have given us a credit of 48 dollars to use in the restaurant or for to go for a second Chance. When I have time I think I will go sit in the restaurant and try the food fresh.

The food was good. Came out fast and was super hot. I got the Baja tacos. All the staff was attentive and friendly. I would recommend this to others. Plus there’s a small parking lot across the street.

We were exploring Mount Dora after not being there for a long time, when found this Mexican restaurant and decided to try it. What a delightful surprise. Food is delicious, and come hungry bc the portions are very satisfying. We ordered the taco salad, chicken and beef and they were certainly delicious. The only thing was that they were too juicy at the bottom and the tortilla was soggy, but still delicious. The staff is very friendly and helpful as well. We will go back for sure. Thank you!!!

The inn provides various activities suitable for different types of getaways, whether it's a romantic escape, a girls' weekend, or a family vacation. I have had the pleasure of visiting this establishment a few times now and each visit has been exceptional. Our server, Norah, was delightful and attentive. We swapped stories and shared experiences of surviving a hurricane. I would highly recommend a visit. Grab a drink and enjoy watching time slow down from the porch.

Rooms are a bit dated, but remember that's why you're staying at an historic inn. Location is fabulous, right downtown - walking distance to everything. The piano bar is THE BEST place to eat and enjoy a special drink while listening to the talented musicians, so cozy and atmospheric. Enjoyed our last-minute stay immensely.

First! Thank you Corrie for recommending the orange cake! It was delicious. Soft, light, and creamy! We loved it. This Inn is our favorite when we stay in Mt Dora. The building it self is adorable. Rooms are always so clean and comfortable. The staff is #1… The views of Lake mt Dora are spectacular. We love to seat at the big balcony and rock on the chairs just looking at all the people enjoy the many things that go on in this cute area. It has easy access to all the great places like trails, restaurants and any festivals that are happening since is in the center of the historical area. We just love it! If you want to rest, enjoy good views, and shop at very interesting cute shops… I recommend this hotel as a place to stay while you are in mt Dora!

My wife and I didn't stay (have a room/lodging here) but we did a walk through of the lobby and adjacent bar while walking around Mount Dora on the early evening of August 13, 2025. This place looked "Old World Elegant" and very well maintained, so I may consider staying here the next time we visit Mount Dora on a non-camper trip. I've attached pictures for your viewing so you can see how nice it is. It's got a beautiful view of Lake Dora and some of the rooms sit right on the water.

If you want to step back in time, the Lakeside Inn in Mount Dora is the place to stay. Erected in 1883, the Inn is situated next to the Mount Dora Lake with a great view of the lake and sunsets. It has two other bedding facilities, gift shop and a pool next to the lake with breathtaking views. Their kitchen prepares a wide variety of American and traditional cuisine. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and they provide multiple places to eat such as the outdoor seating facing the lake and indoor seating at the Tremain's Tavern or the Beauclaire with views of their lush gardens. The service staff are very attentive and warm ensuring you are comfortable and enjoy your experience in the Inn. We were warmly greeted by Judy and Nicole who acquainted us with the Inn. Kim who served us breakfast, provided tips to further enjoy the town, and Justin went over and above to ensure we had a great food experience and enjoyed our stay. The Lakeside Inn promises a memorable experience combining history, relaxation, and delicious cuisine in a charming setting.I highly recommend you stay at the Inn the next time you visit Mount Dora.

Often called "The New England of the South" due to its charm, the city is located on Lake Dora and is a short drive from Orlando, offering visitors a relaxing escape with attractions like a freshwater lighthouse, boardwalks, and a year-round schedule of festivals and events.

CatBoat Adventure Tours offers an exciting way to explore Lake Dora and its surroundings. The tour features small, 2-person electric catamarans with unique steering designed for easy navigation. Each boat is equipped with a walkie-talkie so you can hear the guide's commentary as you cruise through the canals and visit neighboring lakes. The fleet of boats is located at Mount Dora Marine Center, where you'll embark on a guided trip across Lake Dora to the Dora Canal.
Four of us went on the Catboat Adventure tour this morning. Captain Todd was informative and funny as he told us about the historical and local facts. I’m not much of a boat person, but I loved it and would go back any time!! FYI, the boat covers don’t stay up when you go fast, and if you wear a hat, you need a hat with a strap to keep it on.
Lynda F — Google review
Captain Todd was amazing!!! Extremely knowledgeable about the canal & the history. Also made the tour fun with his jokes and antics. My brother was visiting & he was I booked the tour as a surprise for him. Definitely a fun time for all!!! Don’t hesitate in booking.

We had a great time yesterday on the Catboat Adventure Tour with Todd as our guide. Todd was very friendly, had a great sense of humor and was very knowledgeable about the area and Florida landscape. This company is very well run, efficient and a really fun activity. The catboats were easy to captain and we were able to explore the lakes in Mt Dora. We were really taken with the beauty and wildlife of the Mt. Dora Canal...Just a quick note...dress in preparation to get very wet during the boat ride. The outside temp was hot and the water was warm...we did bring beach towels which can be kept dry in the dry box on the boat. If you are looking for a great time, don't hesitate to try this. The historic area of Mt Dora is very close to the marina...there are many shops and resturants so consider making a day of it. Thank you to Todd for a great day in Mount Dora.

We have done this tour back in May for my husbands birthday! Till this day he talks about how he drove a boat lol. This was an amazing experience and this was a birthday to remember. Thanks to Todd and Dale for making this an awesome experience. They educated us on so many things, were informative and friendly. I love the questionnaires they had us answer through the walkie talkies on alligators, seeing the wildlife such as birds, hawks and turtles and just catching a breeze. The price was affordable for two people. If you’re ever in the area or looking for something to do I definitely recommend this experience. Best 2 hour boat tour. This was a 10/10.

We really enjoyed our catboat ride yesterday. Captain Todd and Captain Wade were very entertaining and fun throughout the tour. My son drove our boat, and loved it. Be sure to take extra clothes, as you could be soaked at the end . Water is very warm so it makes it more comfortable when you get wet. It was a blast. We sure you do this if you are in the area.

We absolutely loved this tour! We had such a fun time. There were 4 of us in our party and every single one of us had a blast. Wade was such a great guide and really made this a great tour. I felt like Wade really wanted us all to have the best experience and went above and beyond to ensure that! I highly recommend this tour when you visit Mt. Dora.
Amy L — Google review
Our fifth time visiting Florida and this is by far the best tourist attraction we have done. Started with a beautiful morning, we were met by Grace and Richard who were welcoming and excited for us to do the tour. The lake setting is stunning and the safety brief was quick and straight forward. Out onto the lake piloting the boat yourself makes it a unique experience! You get to go fast and then you have little inlets and access ways that slow the tour down for a good mix. On the way out you get 20minutes on a large lake to go as you please and to push the little boats as hard as you can. Cannot recommend this tour enough, book it you won’t be disappointed!

Grantham Pointe (Light House) may not be your typical towering lighthouse, but its small size doesn't diminish the beauty of its surroundings. Located in the charming city of Mount Dora, Florida, this spot offers a picturesque setting with benches to relax and take in the stunning views. The area is well-maintained and features a statue of Old Joe as well as a hammock for visitors to enjoy.
Beautiful park. One thing Lake county seems to do really well is parks. This park and any of the other parks we've visited in Lake County have been beautiful and well kept. Good job, Lake County!!

This is a very nice natural area and park. We walked around on the various path and we got to the small lighthouse. It is very interesting because the atmosphere was very quiet but you have signs all over the place warning you about snakes and crocodiles and we even saw one in the water. With that being said it is pretty safe if you stay on the marked paths. Overall I really liked this area and I would recommend visiting it if you are in Mt Dora.
Alessandro B — Google review
The lighthouse isn't very, big or tall, but the trail next to it is fantastic. Lots of wildlife to see. Gators, vultures, owls, birds, and lots of squirrels.
Matt “ — Google review
Mount Dora isn't a huge lake but it's big enough to warrant a lighthouse and it's apparently the only lighthouse in the entire state of Florida that remains an inland aid to navigation. It's adorable, located on a small spit of land at the Port of Mount Dora next to the boat launches. The lighthouse was completed in 1988 and stands 35 feet tall. It is built from brick. There is free parking here and a few benches where you can sit by the water and watch the kayakers or jet skiiers.

Lovely park to walk and take in sunset views in historic Mount Dora, FL! Nearby a nature boardwalk to look for birds and alligators. Very nice spot to visit! Playground around the corner and water birds to observe or photograph.

It's not your average lighthouse as it's quite small and you cannot climb through it however, it's location and surrounding areas are absolutely beautiful. The area is well kept, has plenty of benches to sit on and enjoy the view from almost every angle. Though it was a Thursday, we had no problems finding a parking spot and take in all the sights. There is a statue of Old Joe, even a hammock for you to enjoy. Definitely worth the visit!

We visited the flea market about 10 minutes away and wanted to explore the town. Very beautiful place to take pictures and just sit around on a bench and read or just have a conversation with your favorite person. We couldn't walk more around the area because of lack of proper footwear, and it was definitely hot and humid. But this place during the spring in cool weather must be spectacular to explore.

Palm Island Park is an 8-acre nature preserve in Mount Dora, offering a picturesque setting for outdoor activities. The park features a 420-foot wooden boardwalk that extends over Lake Dora, providing excellent opportunities for wildlife spotting and bird-watching. Visitors can explore additional footpaths and nature trails within the park, surrounded by oak, old cypress trees, and tall cabbage.
Palm Island Park is a spectacular place to take a walk on the boardwalk. You can usually expect to see some gators and some pretty Florida birds. Great park to spend a Sunday afternoon! Well kept and very quiet! The boardwalk along the lake takes you on a picturesque hike. So authenticly Floridian! It's a beautiful park. Plenty of shade. Lots of wildlife. The boardwalk is so awesome to see the different wildlife from. On my visit we saw baby gators, a hawk, a wood pecker and numerous birds that I can't remember the names of. Will definitely be going back

Wow! This is a hidden gem!! To say it feels like a bayou jungle adventure at a Disney park is to on one hand show how little of true old natural Florida we have experienced and also to allude to the magical discovery of every step of this charming boardwalk path! While we were not comfortable venturing into the side trails so very near alligators, there were picnic tables and intriguing trails scattered off the raised path you could try! Dogs seemed to be welcome but we were not comfortable with that either as we observed the wildlife throughout! The birds were majestic!! Several bird varieties to our untrained eye and some new ones to us. There was an elusive turtle and an incredible rookery of birds roosting at days end. So many places to stop and rest if you need and shelter from the sun. The path was excellent for a mobility walker or stroller. We admired the dramatic trees and fading sunlight. Boats passed by and a jet ski. All of us loved this short excursion and could imagine the joy of returning again and again at different times of day and seasons. An absolute must see if anywhere nearby for the whole family. Mount Dora itself is a sweet destination of historic homes and darling cafes and shoppes. Include Palm Island Park on your itinerary!

Beautiful scenery to walk and enjoy nature. Boardwalk along the lakeside which connects to a trail that leads around to the entrance. A lot of wildlife along the way including alligators, turtles and birds. There is also a children's playground adjacent to the park across the street.

Love the walk through Palm Island Park at sunset. There are so many opportunities for great photos and lots of wildlife to see. Gators, snakes, blue herons, turtles, raccoons, frogs, and even huge locust now. They really need to put together a Crew to pick up trash though. It's sad to see such a beautiful plot of land get so full of trash.

Wave - Asian Bistro & Sushi in Mount Dora offers a unique dining experience with its fusion cuisine. The menu features inventive sushi dishes like sushi burgers, burritos, pizza, and hot dogs alongside traditional options. In addition to sushi, they also serve hibachi meals and poke bowls. The restaurant has gained popularity on social media for its visually appealing sushi creations. Customers rave about the Orange Chicken dish and recommend trying the Mount Dora roll or Volcano Roll from their fantastic sushi menu.
Oh creative! What I went with a friend and we grabbed a couple of things that are all interesting! THE PORTIONS ARE PRETTY BIG. The sushi tots I’d say is my least favorite, there is a lot of rice tots. The donut was really good but also a lot of rice… there is a mix of seafood on the top and the selection you make is what the inside is filled with. I picked spicy tuna. The paradise roll was pretty good, balance out the other dishes that had the rice. Environment There is parking right outside. The inside is like fast casual style.. but it is a sit down restaurant. Niceness of the staff Super nice staff. Had the patience while I was looking at photos online and asking what it was. Thank you for the recommendations! Dollar It is pretty decent but getting a new things can add up Yes/no Yes I would come back

After hearing about this place from a few people, we made our way there last night and it was a great experience! The menu is full of such creative and unique dishes. We ordered a sushi pizza which was so good and the hot dog which was such a great explosion of flavor with every bite! The young man that served us was truly amazing - He was super attentive - constantly checking on us, he was funny and took such good care of us! Though we had a wait, he made it better experience.

We visited WAVE Asian Bistro & Sushi and overall it was a great experience. I’d give it a solid 4 out of 5 stars. The creative fusion dishes and friendly service were the highlights, with just a few minor issues in the ambiance keeping it from a perfect score. We ordered the spicy shrimp “sushi hot dog” and one of their sushi pizzas, and both dishes were as flavorful as they were inventive. The hot dog (a sushi roll cleverly presented like a hot dog) had a good kick of spice yet remained well-balanced: a nice heat that doesn’t overwhelm the fresh shrimp and other ingredients. The pizza was another fun fusion surprise: it might sound unusual, but it turned out delicious, with fresh fish and tasty toppings coming together like an Asian twist on a comfort food. You can tell a lot of thought went into these unique menu items, and they definitely delivered on flavor and creativity. The service at WAVE was very good. Our server was attentive and genuinely friendly, checking on us often without hovering. Despite the restaurant being busy and lively, we never felt neglected. Water glasses were refilled promptly, and the staff was happy to answer our questions about the menu (which was helpful given the many unusual offerings!). The overall impression was that the team cares about their guests having a good time. The restaurant has a lively, energetic vibe. It’s clearly a popular spot. However, be aware that the ambiance is on the darker side and gets pretty loud. While the space was clean and comfortable, the interior decor itself felt a bit old and tired. The furnishings and overall look could use a refresh to match the modern creativity of the menu. This slightly dated atmosphere was really the only downside of our visit, and it held the experience back from being a full 5-star outing. WAVE is a fantastic place if you’re looking to try something different and fun. The fusion sushi creations (like that hot dog and sushi pizza) are flavorful and memorable, and the friendly service makes you feel welcome. If they updated the interior and maybe toned down the noise just a notch, it would easily be a 5-star experience. As it stands, it’s a strong 4-star for me.

Wow! This place was amazing! Not only was the food, innovative and creative, but freaking delicious! Really good value as well, we got so much food and there were so many things we wanted to try so we’re going to have to go back! We started with the Sushi tots- total, Yum! Great flavor, and a nice amount of spices. And a huge serving! Then we had the Godzilla roll and the softshell taco, which was insane! This place was just fun. The food is fun. The staff is great and we can’t wait to go back.

food was amazing! really like the asian fusion sushi. Our server was awesome and gave us great recommendations, like the krab rangoon mozzarella sticks (a MUST). We were happy with the amount of food, 2 apps, 5 rolls and the crunch wrap for 5 people. we will be returning on our next trip to Mount Dora!

Well… the hype for this place and my months of seeing them on Instagram wishing I could go, finally paid off. Amazing. The sushi burger was HUGE I had to use a fork and knife (a sin I know) but my jaw doesn’t unhinge like that. It was so good, they give so much spicy tuna. The price is worth it. Same thing for the pizza! Huge! Also eaten with a fork and knife. So many options to choose from but very happy with our choices. Would love to go back and try more, even fried in hot Cheetos. The staff were all very nice and helpful when we couldn’t decide! Inside was very clean, service was quick too. A must try for sure :)

Expectations exceeded several years in the making! My wife and I have been following Wave on TikTok for several years now, and we finally got the chance to visit. It was even better than expected, we got the sushi hot dog, the tuna supreme pizza, and the sushi crunch wrap supreme. The amount of fish was extremely generous, probably the most generous we’ve ever had for us being longtime sushi fanatics. Tasted fresh and delicious and was way more affordable than I expected. For the amount of fish we had I expected easily 50% higher prices. We made an hour detour on a road trip to visit and we’re sad we don’t live closer, otherwise we’d be coming here every other week!

Food was good but not as great as I expected, still good though! Service was amazing love the atmosphere and the restaurant. Parking is a nightmare though.

Brewpub
Mount Dora Brewing is a charming brewpub and American eatery that offers a unique dining experience with its kitschy dining rooms, beer garden, and diverse music acts. Visitors have praised the delicious breakfast options, including the best hash brown casserole and huge pancakes. The menu features great appetizers, a full food menu, and local beers. While some suggest expanding the beer selection, others appreciate the fresh and tasty food offerings.
We have been here for dinner and to see Brian Smalley. Today we decided to go for breakfast. We went about 10 am on a Sunday. First, there were very few people. That usually makes me nervous. Now, I am wondering why because the food was really great! They have THE BEST hash brown casserole we have ever had and the pancakes are huge! Give them a try. You will not be dissatisfied.

This is a great little eatery. The outdoor seating was quaint. The salmon salad was really excellent. My friend had the Chicken Bacon Brie with waffle fries and it was excellent. I tried the Blueberry Beer, which was like a sour, and my friend had an Apple Cider that she loved for its sweetness and I would have not liked. 😊

Mount Dora is a nice local Brewery with a very delicious menu offering great appetizers, full food menu and local beers. The waiter/server was very nice with good customer service. Didn't have many own-made beer selection in my opinion, they had about 6. A larger stout selection would be great.Definitely would return since the food was fresh and very tasty.

I was excited to try this place due to the raving reviews, but now I think it’s a joke. I was SO DISAPPOINTED. The beer is mediocre at best. Not worth the money. The waitress WAS the cook! I hear a lot of slamming and microwave use. I ordered a chicken wrap, it had one chicken tender and the rest was lettuce. I paid $10 for lettuce. Mozzarella sticks, were not edible. They were disgusting! This place is horrible and won’t be back! I’m upset I wasted a meal on this place.

First visit today for late lunch. It’s a seat yourself bar and restaurant with table service. We ordered bacon cheeseburgers with fries and Soft pretzels with beer cheese as appetizer. The beer cheese was very tasty, with a soft hint of mustard and decently thick. This is worth coming in for by itself. The burgers were a good size and pretty tasty. The fries were served one of three ways and we chose beer battered. They were fairly thick, crisp and fresh. Service is friendly and quick. This is a nice casual place to stop in to dine and or drink. We will be back.

When I got there the place was packed! Not a seat left in the front room where band was. I snaked my way through the tables to ask someone behind the bar about additional seating. It was around the corner and completely deserted. Although there was a large screen in the back to keep watching the band, I’m more of a social person so I went back around and at that moment a gentleman at the bar said he was about to leave and I could have his spot so that was great. The only reason I’m giving this 4 instead of 5 stars is usually when I go to a brewery I like to try a variety of their beers in a flight but it was so busy I just ordered a single beer so I was disappointed I didn’t get to fully experience their selection. With it being so busy it was pretty cramped. But other than that, there were lots of people dancing to a phenomenal group of musicians (The Boulevard-check them out on Facebook!) and the energy was fabulous! I had a great time dancing and meeting new people, talking with the band and eventually the owner and brewmaster of the joint. All great, talented people that were fun to be around. I will be back!!

While the staff was nice and friendly, the beer was really not good. The blonde ale is oddly tart and the others aren’t any better. They only have three beers of their own, the other three are mixes of those. Not impressed, so we didn’t order food.

Although i didn’t see a mountian. This cozy “home feel” restaurant/beer garden was a perfect lunch spot for my friends and I. I recommend the flight of beer to try all the good brews this place has to offer! See you sometime soon ya diamond 💎 in the rough

Great atmosphere, great food and great service. The food tasted authentic and came quickly. Just tried some apps but was very impressed. If you can make an onion ring taste better than you’ve ever had, you’re doing something right.

What a great evening visiting the Magical Meat Boutique in the heart of Mount Dora. Prime Rib Night (Friday after 4) was excellent! I love Prime Rib and the cut I received for my dinner was worth every penny. The sides that come with the dish were also delicious and plenty. The service we received and the conversation we had with various staff made it an even better evening. They are very personable, quick, and very proud of the establishment they represent. This location will be closing soon, which is sad because walking around Mt Dora afterwards on a Friday evening, makes for a great and tranquil date night. Fear not, another location has softly opened nearby. Please check their page for details. I would recommend this business to those looking for a casual night out with friends, family and even alone works. I can’t wait for my next visit!

Awesome bartender/server A+. Had the Haddock and homecut fries and the scotch eggs as an appetizer. What a meal 😍 You get a huge serving that will fill you up quick! I thought everything was priced right for the meal. Highly recommend the place.

Came for weekend breakfast. There was plenty of seating inside and out. Be forewarned, though, the outdoor seating is smoking friendly. Staff was incredibly friendly and very responsive. Food came out annoyingly hot, not that that’s really an issue. Everything was well cooked and well seasoned. Excellent portion size, will definitely have to come back for the dinner menu. Went with the “full Monty” for breakfast basically a little bit of everything that is British. Not just wheelchair friendly, more wheelchair encouraged. Everything is flat, large aisles, areas where you can move tables to accommodate different size parties. There are one or two doors that might be a little difficult to get through, but there are multiple alternate entrances they also havedaily/weekly events that they post month by month. Check their calendar for latest updates. Waitress did mention that they are open on holidays, though they have not yet posted the special holiday menus at the time of rating. Thanksgiving and Christmas reservations basically required, and you could accommodate a party of 30 in there no problem.

This is the third location for the Magical Meat Boutique. I was a big fan at the original location where the rail car is in Mount Dora. The second location was hard to get to hard to park and I always felt was very noisy. Taking over the old barbecue place on Old State Road 19 in Tavares has a great deal of potential. Today's lunch could not have been better. I had the best fish and chips that I can remember in quite some time. I chose the more expensive cod but it was well worth it. They're still working the kinks out, but it's a positive attitude and a great kitchen history that continues since the 1500s back in London. Parking is easy and they're open great hours. My lunch partner had the English breakfast which is advertised for weekends only. Not sure whether they just extended the courtesy to us for Wednesday, but it was very much appreciated. Give this a place a try. You won't be disappointed.

We had Bangers and mash in the hole and codfish and chips. The cod fish was the best I've had in a very long time. My gramps was from England and this dinner reminder me of him. My husband loved them. The yorkshire pudding bowl added a great flair to the dish It was karaoke night there. We had an amazing time. Staff even participated by singing. It was a lot of fun. The portions were well worth the price. Prices were pretty average for the area. I would highly recommend this bar and restaurant!

We are used to the magical meeting in downtown Mount Dora in the nice atmosphere sitting around in the evening. I don’t know why they moved, but we decided to try the new place. I had the breakfast combination full Scottish and my friend had the other breakfast combination, I think it was called the full Monty both were really good and it was nice to be able to taste a little bit of everything. My husband had the vegetable omelette and he said it was excellent fresh vegetables and everything in it and our other friend had a typical American style breakfast and it was good there was nothing wrong with anything. We were quite impressed, especially with the service since the server was on our own and running around like a chicken with her head cut off. I wish them the best in their new location and I hope to see them again soon. PS I’m sure glad you’re outside is smoker friendly because I have friends that smoke and I like to sit with them and enjoy the atmosphere.

We came in and sat ourselves, which was fine. The restaurant was dead, just us and another family. The waiter was an older lady who was clearly forgetful and unorganized. Someone else brought out our appetizer but didn’t give us any plates, so we ate it from the tray it came on. The waiter(the older lady) walked halfway toward us with the plates, then set them down at another table instead. Later, she brought those same plates to us after we had already finished eating the appetizer. I ordered a burger with onion rings, the burger was great, but she forgot the onion rings completely. I let her know as soon as she handed us the food. After I finished eating, she came to check on us and said, “Oh, the onion rings,” realizing she never put them in. I had already been waiting and ended up waiting even longer for them to come out. By the time they finally did, I didn’t even want them anymore. She never apologized for the mistake and still charged us separately for the onion rings, even though they were supposed to be part of the meal with just an upcharge. Not once did she smile or seem friendly the entire time. Worst service ever — would not recommend.

Nestled in the heart of downtown Mount Dora, Olive Branch Mediterranean - Italian Grille & Bar is a delightful destination for those seeking a taste of both Mediterranean and Italian cuisine. This charming eatery boasts a diverse menu that features everything from fresh seafood to delectable pasta dishes, alongside refreshing Greek salads and perfectly cooked meats. The inviting atmosphere makes it an ideal spot to relax with friends while enjoying their renowned pastas and sweet treats like baklava and cannoli.
Went here with my friend for a late-night dinner. We were greeted and welcomed. The interior has been redecorated since I was here and looks very professionally done. Excellent food and wine. Our server, George, was very attentive throughout the entire experience. My friend and I ordered the veal parmigiana and veal marsala. Some parts of our veal were a little on the tough side, but nothing complaint-worthy. I would likely order the chicken instead if we came back. We finished off the night with a cappuccino, warming ourselves up before the journey back home.

The people were great, and my rating is not about them. They were all friendly and outgoing. The calamari was ok, but the rest of the food was not what I expected. My over all impression was not positive. The meatball sub was, what felt like, a grocery store white loaf, cut in half with rather bland red sause and some ok meatballs. That was the same for the rest of our party. For the price, I would have expected better quality food.

Came for a birthday dinner while on a girls’ trip and could not have chosen a better spot! From the stunning water views to the live music and exceptional service, every detail was perfect. Dylan was our server, and I can honestly say I’ve never experienced better service at any restaurant. Coming from Miami, this place felt like a true breath of fresh air. And the food—absolutely delicious! The fresh bread with oil and balsamic was the perfect start, the Caesar salad was to die for, and the pasta was incredible. 10/10, we were amazed and will definitely be coming back!

My girlfriend and I had a fabulous dining experience. Our server Rene was so friendly and attentive bringing our food and drinks at perfect pace. The food was amazing. A delightful ceasar salad with delicious bread and seasoned olive oil was the ideal starter for the crispy and tantalizing chicken parmesan. Every bite was quite satisfying. We finished our meal and then walked down to watch the breathtaking sunset on Lake Dora. Thank you Olive Branch for kick-starting a great evening.

The server was wonderful. The red sauce and meatballs were excellent but the pasta was overcooked. This is kind of an important part of the spaghetti and meatballs dish so that's why only 3 stars for food. They didn't have any spaghetti noodles left so they served it with linguine. This would be fine but the server disclosed that the reason was because it was a very busy weekend (arts fest) and they went through a lot of spaghetti. He said that they were going to serve me what was left from yesterday but when he saw it he stopped them and offered me the linguini. I'm sorry, but spaghetti noodles are not so expensive that you need to serve yesterday's noodles to anybody. The Mediterranean salad was kind of limp. The bread and oil were very good. The salmon was cooked well.

I tried this place on the food tour. The samples of the food we tried was really good. We started off with a Greek salad then a small pasta dish with vodka sauce. We also had a house white wine similar to a Chardonnay and a red I believe that was closer to a Cabernet.
Kristy — Google review
For those two people we were with that ordered the chicken Parmesan. They had a lovely meal. I ordered the rigatoni with broccoli sautéed in olive oil. I was deeply disappointed that my pasta dish was sitting in a half inch of water and tasted very bland. The Mediterranean seafood dish was sitting in water as well, and the scallops were minuscule, seasoning bland. I had heard this restaurant was really good, but apparently has gone downhill or the chef had an off night. If they would have prepared the pasta dishes properly and season them it would’ve been a different experience.
Janine E — Google review
Horrible experience. They were out of a number of items on the menu. The salmon we had was the worst salmon I ever had. The vegetables were over cooked and uneatable. Both of us had horrible stomach problems the next day. A glass of wine was over priced at $18 a glass. Enough said. Eat there at your own risk.

We had a great time on the 2 hour tour. Cpt Mike and First Mate Kenneth were great. It was a hot day but the breeze from the lake and the shade on the pontoon were great. The 11am tour was definitely not too hot. Very informative and scenic. Good price. I would recommend visiting these guys if you are in Mt Dora.

Las Palmas Restaurant in Mount Dora, Florida offers a casual and friendly atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating. The menu features traditional Cuban cuisine including seafood paella, churrasco steaks, Cuban sandwiches, and chicken lime salad. The restaurant is known for its authentic family recipes and also offers vegetarian options. Customers can enjoy a full bar as well as take-out options. Despite being busy, the service is efficient and courteous.
Amazing food, amazing service. Good prices, very authentic atmosphere could not ask for more. If you are looking for Cuban food or just a really good restaurant to check out. This is it “Lupita”was such an amazing server. She’s so friendly and kind, everybody there was super professional and friendly. Could not ask for a better place to eat. The food is so delicious. Wide variety of options at fair prices. I am a truck driver out of Idaho. I travel all over the states try and restaurants all over the place. This is definitely in the top 10 of all the restaurants I go to.

Food is good and Mt. Dora offers atmosphere beyond. The restaurant itself has outdoor seating, which I lived becayse the streets are filled with people and fun, quirky shops. After you eat, walk down to the docks and watch a beautiful sunset. A tasty Cuban dinner turns into an experience. Worth your time and money.

Dined at Las Palmas… this was my 3rd visit. I’ve always sat outside and enjoy this. Chairs aren’t great but they are satisfactory. Ordered two iced teas (why don’t restaurants/serve staff put enough ice in “iced tea”?). If I’m ordering iced tea - I want ice! We had the “Havana” salad and “classic Cuban”. The salad would’ve been pretty good if they didn’t dump sooo much black bean juice onto the salad! It completely ruined the little bit of lettuce I received. The shredded pork was outstanding. The salad was more like a “pork & bean” bowl than salad. And truly if that’s what I had wanted - would’ve ordered that. The “classic Cuban” could’ve been great BUT they over mustard it and we like mustard. There was so much that if you order it - get mustard on the side. Service was interesting… our server had the personality of a dish towel however, he was attentive and efficient. It was strange having someone so lacking in personality be so adept at serving. We did tip accordingly (meaning 20%+) because he was capable. Just not pleasant.

The restaurant deserves 4 stars for its overall charm, but the location is unbeatable—definitely a 5-star zone! The food? Absolutely delicious—authentic Cuban flavor that hits the spot every time. What truly made the experience memorable was Lupita. Her service and recommendations were outstanding. Friendly, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable—she made us feel right at home. Lupita is the reason I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommended!

Today was our first time visiting Mt Dora and Las Palmas, we moved close to this side of town a few days ago. This restaurant has authentic Cuban food! And it’s very cute for a family gathering or a date!!….Everything was amazing! The coconut mojitos were 2 for 1 and they are the best mojitos I have had in the Central Fl area! (Coming from a Cuban born) they were 2 for 1 but were not shy on the rum! The food was sooooo good!! Churrasco was nice and tender! The beans were just like back home!! And the vaca frita was to die for!!! But, you have to try the churros and espresso!! Omg that was amazing!! Also, taking a walk after dinner around the restaurant is “A MUST” such a cute area!! Our server today was very nice!! I didn’t get her name but she was from Mexico! Very sweet lady! Will definitely come back for more! Especially the vaca frita!! That was my favorite!!❤️

Excellent little restaurant. Charming atmosphere and can see straight into the kitchen. Function room upstairs for larger crowds. Staff is wonderful, wish I could find this level of customer service everywhere I went to. Food was excellent, you could taste the care in the execution. Ossobuco was spoon tender. 10 out of 10, will come again.

When I studied architecture at Clemson University villa in Genova Italy in 1992, I was also that semesters Villa Voice Editor...one primary job was to be sure and publish the recipe for Pesto. I am a huge fan of Pesto done right. First you must drown the pasta in the sauce. It should be green. No noddle should show it's whites. This was one of the best I have had since graduating way back when. This is a don't miss place at least for its Ligurian presentation of linguini Pesto Cremoso. And the sausage was just right. So good that I even used the bread to finish off ALL of the sauce!!! The Puttonesca Rigatoni was also excellent. This is a must do for Mt Dora.

A modest little restaurant, with the best Italian I have had in a long time. The Puttanesca was spot on-rich, spicy, piquant, an explosion of taste, the Chicken Pesto was a buttery, nutty, garlicy, Pesto festival, and every extra, perfect. The espresso was perfect, no bitterness, the tiramisu, a family recipe, was a perfect ending to a lovely afternoon. Joseph our server was very attentive but not overbearing, and the chef, Chase, allowed the addition of sausage to the Puttanesca, creating an outstanding, rich dish. A must EAT.

The food and service were amazing! The mushroom crustini was so yummy for the appetizer. We also got the tomato basil soup and linguine with clams. OMG!!! YUM! They had a nice wine selection. The tiramisu dessert was delicious and different. Not soaked the way I've had it before, so hard lady fingers, but still great! In door and outside seating. Highly recommend and will be back!
