Renninger's Flea Market & Antique Center in Mount Dora is a renowned hotspot for antique treasures and unique finds. Spanning 117 acres, this vast weekend flea market offers both indoor and outdoor spaces filled with antiques, musical instruments, produce stands, clothing shops, and collectibles. The surrounding region boasts scenic landscapes with towering oaks covered in Spanish moss.
This place has everything! There are so many booths, it would take days to look at them all. We spent a Sunday afternoon here and we enjoyed looking through all the antiques, plants, and toys for the kids. We also enjoyed some corn from the roasted corn vendor. Delicious!
Beth R — Google review
One of the largest and most diverse flea markets I've experienced, largely because it's like 3 markets in 1. The outdoor table area has your $1 toys and vacuum cleaners, but then down the hill are rows of small buildings with vendors selling flowers and bird houses and leather belts. Then the large, unassuming building at the bottom of the hill houses some high-end antiques with jewelry and furniture out of my price range! My wife deals in vintage jewelry, and she was overwhelmed. You would need 2 solid days just to see everything here. It was amazing.
Snarffel M — Google review
Love this place!! If you have not been here it's a must! The best place to shop and eat. And if you have not tried the small Italian food truck there you are definitely missing out. When I find great food I love to share. The Sausage and peppers, Chicken parm and cheese steak sandwiches are absofknlutley delicious!! The fresh homemade sauce oh my!

Went here for 2024 antique extravaganza, our first time. Took about 10 mins total to drive through entrance and park. Took about 10 mins or so to get through gate 4 to get a wristband - $6 each. But man, walking around on a gorgeous Saturday morning was pretty epic. A lot of cigarette smokers but all good. Tons of vendors, tons of awesome stuff to see. Port a potties set up in various spots plus a few restroom buildings. The food area was incredible. Definitely an awesome event !

Over 800 vendors selling antiques, collectibles, vintage, and more. The show is outdoors, under open air buildings, tents and includes the Indoor Antiques Center and the Street of Shops at the Antiques Center. Renninger’s Flea Market is Flea Market which runs Saturdays and Sundays 8 – 4! Located on 117 acres of scenic, rolling land in beautiful Lake County, the heart of Central Florida; amid spreading oaks, garlands of Spanish moss waving gently from their branches, you will find Renninger’s Twin Markets in Mt. Dora. Two large buildings and a number of open-air shopping areas house a wide variety of dealers from produce stands, clothing shops, and oddity vendors, to high-quality antiques and collectibles. Renninger’s Twin Markets are also home to a large number of special events including antique fairs and extravaganzas, Cars and Guitars shows and swap meets, vintage garden shows, and much, much more. One of my favourite weekend places to frequent with family and friends plus my pet chi too!
Millie D — Google review
I love flea markets and antique stores so much!! This place was crazy though. Very Very expensive and packed. Some of the stuff is really bad and over priced. It has too many people in there. Not all of the vendors take cards only cash -just FYI. We left early and went home. Not fun. 😞
Laura J — Google review
Easy parking, lots of friendly people and endless vendors: from fruit and veggies to health insurance! We enjoyed the food choices as well.as the variety of beverages. We were impressed with the BBQ turkey legs and the choices at the Wine Shack. We purchased several healthy plants from the many vendors. The bathrooms were plentiful.and clean throughout the venue. We will return!

Art Museums
The Modernism Museum, located in downtown Mount Dora, is a must-visit for art enthusiasts. Established in 2013, the museum showcases a remarkable collection of midcentury modern furniture from prominent figures like George Nakashima and Wendell Castle. With rotating exhibits that change annually, visitors can explore diverse pieces including the estate of rock star David Bowie. The museum's focus on contemporary applied arts offers an immersive experience spanning from mid-century modern to present-day creations.
Really interesting museum in Mount Dora. Memphis design is not my favorite, but I enjoyed the exhibit regardless. I love David Bowie, and seeing his pieces was really cool. Discount at the museum store with your ticket!
Heather M — Google review
I didn’t get any pics. This was a quick little walk through. Tribute to David Bowie, interesting pieces for sure. When you get your ticket you can also get a discount at the shop across the street. The lady at the front was really nice.

If you ever wanted to visit an beutiful Florida town, swing by Mt. Dora Florida. And check out the Modernism Museum, it is a small Museum could take you 30min to an hour to see everything, but for price its a nice little stop. Adults are $8 and they do have discount admission for Military, kids and others just ask the desk. My wife and i went and loved it, they have a few pieces from David Bowe's personal collection. The gift shop is the reason its only 4 stars. It was nice, but not alot of items about the Museum itself it did however support local artists so thats a plus. Afterwards have a walk around town and enjoy a beutiful local florida town.
Kenji B — Google review
We enjoyed the museum. It was very interesting. They have a cute little gift shop too.
Jennifer E — Google review
We had seen reviews of this museum prior to visiting the idyllic town of Mount Dora so called in on a busy Sunday afternoon. The museum was a peaceful haven which turned out to be a little gem of a place ! The lady who explained everything to us was very pleasant and knowledgeable and left us to just wander and discover it for ourselves ending with a good video explaining the origins of the work . The David Bowie pieces were the icing on the very striking , colourful cake as we say in the UK . I thoroughly recommend a visit to this museum it would be a shame to miss it
Alistair O — Google review
What a sweet little museum in the heart of Mount Dora. They have a video introduction to the Memphis Group which created all the art currently on display and it provided great background. I loved the art and the explanations accompanying it. $8 admission. Limited hours so check first. The gift shop across the street is very nice too.
Veronica B — Google review
Small museum, jam packed with unique exhibits. They have two different rooms where you can watch the history of each exhibit, as well as a guide who walks you through each of the pieces. I wish it was bigger, but based on it's location it makes sense. It's basically in the heart of downtown Mount Dora and it's surrounded by great places to eat & drink. It's also reasonably priced to enter. Great staff and interesting exhibits that apparently change from time to time. If you're big on modern art, it won't disappoint.

Nature & Parks
Parks
Palm Island Park is an 8-acre nature preserve in Mount Dora, offering a picturesque setting for outdoor activities. The park features a 420-foot wooden boardwalk that extends over Lake Dora, providing excellent opportunities for wildlife spotting and bird-watching. Visitors can explore additional footpaths and nature trails within the park, surrounded by oak, old cypress trees, and tall cabbage.
Palm Island Park is a spectacular place to take a walk on the boardwalk. You can usually expect to see some gators and some pretty Florida birds. My wife and I saw a huge gator on a recent visit and it was an amazing site. It’s an old Florida experience that you do not want to miss. If friends or relatives come for a visit you want to bring them here!
Jerrold F — Google review
Love Palm Island! There are 2 trail options, nature or water. You can walk through a winding trail through the FL bush or you can walk along the boardwalk. There are plenty of benches along boardwalk with covered pavilions. Great place to get grounded again and relax.
Samantha B — Google review
Great park to spend a Sunday afternoon! Well kept and very quiet! The boardwalk along the lake takes you on a picturesque hike. So authenticly Floridian! Venture off into the many paths across the park and enjoy nature! Watch out for gators! We saw a baby gator in the water. Loved the time spent - slight breeze kept it cool! Highly recommend!
Dessie H — Google review
Lovely nature trail and Boardwalk. Very lively with Wildlife! You can rent kayaks and fish off the boardwalk. Please respect when you visit! Very gorgeous and well maintained!
Boogy M — Google review
It's a beautiful park. Plenty of shade. Lots of wildlife. The boardwalk is so awesome to see the different wildlife from. On my visit we saw baby gators, a hawk, a wood pecker and numerous birds that I can't remember the names of. Will definitely be going back
Connie H — Google review
Wow! This is a hidden gem!! To say it feels like a bayou jungle adventure at a Disney park is to on one hand show how little of true old natural Florida we have experienced and also to allude to the magical discovery of every step of this charming boardwalk path! While we were not comfortable venturing into the side trails so very near alligators, there were picnic tables and intriguing trails scattered off the raised path you could try! Dogs seemed to be welcome but we were not comfortable with that either as we observed the wildlife throughout! The birds were majestic!! Several bird varieties to our untrained eye and some new ones to us. There was an elusive turtle and an incredible rookery of birds roosting at days end. So many places to stop and rest if you need and shelter from the sun. The path was excellent for a mobility walker or stroller. We admired the dramatic trees and fading sunlight. Boats passed by and a jet ski. All of us loved this short excursion and could imagine the joy of returning again and again at different times of day and seasons. An absolute must see if anywhere nearby for the whole family. Mount Dora itself is a sweet destination of historic homes and darling cafes and shoppes. Include Palm Island Park on your itinerary!
K G — Google review
Beautiful scenery to walk and enjoy nature. Boardwalk along the lakeside which connects to a trail that leads around to the entrance. A lot of wildlife along the way including alligators, turtles and birds. There is also a children's playground adjacent to the park across the street.
Charles R — Google review
Love the walk through Palm Island Park at sunset. There are so many opportunities for great photos and lots of wildlife to see. Gators, snakes, blue herons, turtles, raccoons, frogs, and even huge locust now. They really need to put together a Crew to pick up trash though. It's sad to see such a beautiful plot of land get so full of trash.

The Donnelly House is a charming historic home located in Mount Dora, built in 1893 by John P. Donnelly for his wife. This Queen Anne-style house features yellow siding, blue accents, and intricate gingerbread house-style details. John Donnelly was also the first mayor of Mount Dora and played a role in founding the Mount Dora Yacht Club. The house is known for its dollhouse-like appearance and is said to be especially beautiful during Christmas time.
Such an excellent ghost tour!! My friend and I were meant to do the Paranormal Experience but it ended up getting cancelled due to a double booking. We got added onto the Historic Ghost Tour. I’ve lived in FL my entire life and didn’t know the history of those buildings we visited. Doc was an amazing guide! I can feel his passion for what he does and he was really patient with us getting very excited about recordings on our EMF readers. If they ever add different buildings to the tour I am so going. I’d also do this tour again with other friends. 10/10 recommend this tour and Doc.
Jessica D — Google review
Mount Dora was hosting a little fall festival on Saturday September 18th, We had an awesome dinner at Tony’s Clam Chouder restaurant, we decided to walk around for a little bit & as we’re walking towards 5th street a man was sitting outside of this establishment ( The Magical House ) on Donnelly Street. He asked my husband & I if we wanted a free fortune reading , we both declined and out of his mouth he shot these words to us after we DECLINED THE FREE READING “ It’s bad I just want you to know that “. Who would say that to someone ??? He definitely crossed the line. Unfortunately we didn’t get his name but you best believe we will NEVER visit this establishment. I hope the management takes time to read this.
Hope T — Google review
We make the paranormal experience inside the house and it was on point and amazing. They provide you with the equipment in order that you can see, hear and experience this amazing house. You feel like you are in an investigation like in you tube. The guide was really knowledgeable and courteous. Recommendation for you is download your spirit box on your phone and you can talk to them better.
Lizbeth S — Google review
Talk about amazing customer service when our original experience was postponed. Doc reached out and let us know we were still welcome to come and enjoy the town's ghost tour, which we gladly accepted, and it was amazing. Doc was absolutely a fun tour guide and was very insightful of the town's history. I would recommend going even if you are not a believer. I can't wait to go back again with my friend to experience the paranormal experience.
Lynnea G — Google review
It was super fun me and my girlfriend went together. We plan on going back for different tours! I recommend.
Sophia L — Google review

Omg just finished a ghost tour with Doc he was fantastic!!!! Very knowledgeable about the history of mount dora and we even got some activity! 10/10 would definitely go again
Cynthia A — Google review
The Nightmare on Donnelly Street was great the actors were all wonderful the costumes were great. I just wish the house for the Halloween attraction lasted longer than 15 minutes, because they did an awesome job and I would have liked to have seen more. To me this was a short clip of a Halloween Horror house. That is my only disappointment. Other than that the town is beautiful so if you're looking for a good place to go out of your area take a trip and visit Mount Dora. You will not be disappointed.

Grantham Pointe (Light House) may not be your typical towering lighthouse, but its small size doesn't diminish the beauty of its surroundings. Located in the charming city of Mount Dora, Florida, this spot offers a picturesque setting with benches to relax and take in the stunning views. The area is well-maintained and features a statue of Old Joe as well as a hammock for visitors to enjoy.
Beautiful park. One thing Lake county seems to do really well is parks. This park and any of the other parks we've visited in Lake County have been beautiful and well kept. Good job, Lake County!!
Misty M — Google review
This is a very nice natural area and park. We walked around on the various path and we got to the small lighthouse. It is very interesting because the atmosphere was very quiet but you have signs all over the place warning you about snakes and crocodiles and we even saw one in the water. With that being said it is pretty safe if you stay on the marked paths. Overall I really liked this area and I would recommend visiting it if you are in Mt Dora.
Alessandro B — Google review
The lighthouse isn't very, big or tall, but the trail next to it is fantastic. Lots of wildlife to see. Gators, vultures, owls, birds, and lots of squirrels.
Matt “ — Google review
Mount Dora isn't a huge lake but it's big enough to warrant a lighthouse and it's apparently the only lighthouse in the entire state of Florida that remains an inland aid to navigation. It's adorable, located on a small spit of land at the Port of Mount Dora next to the boat launches. The lighthouse was completed in 1988 and stands 35 feet tall. It is built from brick. There is free parking here and a few benches where you can sit by the water and watch the kayakers or jet skiiers.
Bruce I — Google review
Lovely park to walk and take in sunset views in historic Mount Dora, FL! Nearby a nature boardwalk to look for birds and alligators. Very nice spot to visit! Playground around the corner and water birds to observe or photograph.
K G — Google review
It's not your average lighthouse as it's quite small and you cannot climb through it however, it's location and surrounding areas are absolutely beautiful. The area is well kept, has plenty of benches to sit on and enjoy the view from almost every angle. Though it was a Thursday, we had no problems finding a parking spot and take in all the sights. There is a statue of Old Joe, even a hammock for you to enjoy. Definitely worth the visit!
Nayana — Google review
We visited the flea market about 10 minutes away and wanted to explore the town. Very beautiful place to take pictures and just sit around on a bench and read or just have a conversation with your favorite person. We couldn't walk more around the area because of lack of proper footwear, and it was definitely hot and humid. But this place during the spring in cool weather must be spectacular to explore.

Love the quaint wee shoppes and restaurants available here with indoor and outdoor seating. This hideaway needs to be on everyone's list. Well air-conditioned space. All the vendors and restaurateurs are kind and helpful especially Michelle (The Deli Llama) and husband & wife team, Carlos & Roxanna (Dark & Light cafe). It may seem a bit dark as you first walk in but it lightens up inside. Also, look for the directional signs on the wall to find specific shoppes. If you need help with anything, everyone's happy to help, just ask.

This is a great concept for Mt. Dora, offering a variety of high quality food, dinks and boutique shopping. From the brewery to food to bakeries, wine bar and mimosa bar... This is exactly what is needed. You can stroll through and grab a couple different choices, and then find a table to either sit or stand at. There is pretty limited seating but there are many finger foods that you can eat while standing. I would assume during high volume events that it will be packed, but that's every place in Mt. Dora. I think this is a very refreshing concept for downtown Mount Dora and I highly recommend you give it a try.

The Mount Dora History Museum offers a glimpse into the local history within a quaint 1920s building that originally served as a firehouse and jail. This small museum showcases the town's history from the 1880s through the 1930s, providing an interesting look at its past. Visitors can explore exhibits and even take photos in the old jail cells, making it an enjoyable experience for all ages.
Excellent small museum located on a side street. A local will give you a personal tour in the old city jail of this historic little artsy town. Definitely worth a stop.

I was the only one in the Museum and enjoyed my tour immensely. I love learning about local history, and listening to people who enjoy teaching about it. Tour fee was only $2, $1 for students, and I got to see the old jail cells as well. The dresses are probably my favorite part, they’re very pretty. A great stop while in Mt. Dora :)

We visited Mount Dora, Florida last year for their Seafood Festival. While the festival was a disappointment for our family for the distance we drove and the money spent... but we enjoyed visiting the shops in this charming little town. Most especially, we really loved this tiny little museum tucked away off of the main road that most of the shops are on. I really appreciate history (especially Florida history, as I'm a Native Floridian) and this museum, albeit small, packed SO much history and info into a small little building. But I appreciated how all of the artifacts were displayed and the friendly staff. I'd highly recommend checking this place out!

An amazing piece of downtown history. The place was once a jail for Downtown and an old fire station Has an amazing story of how 3 Prisoners actually Escaped and you can see how 2 did it one of them bent the iron bars with his bare hands. They have lots of history from around the town to and some old fire Equipment from the fire station Including a wagon tha the horse would pull with a hose the staff if really friendly here as well and it's very cheep to get in if you are a student from kindergarten to collage it's only $1 other wise adults are $2 it's definitely a really cool place if your in to history and in the area I would highly recommend checking it out.

Beautiful location! We went for the farmers market, which was really nice but was so pleased and excited about finding the area because it is absolutely adorable! Great restaurants, all around, and really creative shops. I guess they have lots of festivals so we will be going back!

I loved Mount Dora! Who knew so many fantastic food places and shops and museums could be found in such a small area! I look forward to visiting again for the Festival of Lights. I came for sushi at Wave, and ate there every day. But I managed to eat at several other great food places too. Need more time there and a bigger appetite.

The Eustis Historical Museum is a place filled with personal connections and historical significance. Visitors can explore the museum through custom tours led by knowledgeable guides, gaining insights into the town's past and the lives of its original inhabitants. The museum showcases a "plucked from history" home, offering a glimpse into Florida's rich heritage. Guests are encouraged to make a donation at the end of their visit, making it an accessible experience for all.
My grandfather lived in Eustis for a long while, he was very involved locally and he wrote articles, participate in local art fairs and events, and provided a lot of support this local museum. I love visiting because it reminds me of him and helps keep his memory alive. He contributed all of these figures, made of paper! I remember sitting in his house as he'd work on them and he'd explain what part he was doing next and that it was a very important project for the museum. He was an artist, photographer, writer, and was so beloved. The tour guide is verb thorough and takes her time to explain the history of the museum (formerly a family home). If you want to take a step back in time and enjoy local history, please stop in. And take a moment to enjoy my grandpa's art while you're there. 💜

Very neat place! Built by the original owner and an official National Historic Landmark. The story of the house, city and region is really neat! Our guide was very informative and patient, even though we had some kids in tow that were growing impatient. Worth a visit!

Your visit includes an impressive guided tour of rooms dedicated to life in the past as well as the original occupants personal lives. Including many of their possessions on display in this beautiful and true Florida "plucked from history" home. The cost, just make a donation to the museum at the end. I think you'll find this one of the high points to your visit in this part of Florida enjoy!

Laurie M — Google review
I'm born and raised in Eustis and after many years of passing by this museum, I finally decided to bring my family in for a tour. We had a wonderful time! There was so much history that I hadn't the slightest clue about, and it was very interesting to learn how Eustis has grown over the years from a historical standpoint. Our son (11 years old) really enjoyed it as well, even as a young kid. My daughter (2-1/2 years old) decided it would be a wonderful idea to throw a tantrum the majority of the time which is what leads me to my next topic: Anne, our tour guide. Anne was AMAZING! She was so accommodating with our kiddos and was so incredibly patient throughout the entire tour. I really appreciated that she didn't ever mind repeating certain facts to us and that she made the tour very personable. She had a wealth of knowledge beyond what she read to us from the tour guide's book, and I truly feel that she is the reason we had such a great time! Thank you, Anne, we hope to visit again someday!
Chelsey D — Google review
If you are looking to catch up on some history about Eustis, then this is the place to see. Each cloister of visitors receives a custom tour of the museum with a personal tour guide. If there is a tour in session, then you need to wait on the porch until it is completed. The door is then unlocked and the new visitors are welcomed to the next viewing. We found our tour guide not only to be knowledgeable but also showed humility when there was something she didn’t know. She was spending her free time reading up on the history of the area as well to know how to better answer the many questions that arise in such a tour. We enjoyed the plethora of items and people that were mentioned throughout each room in the house turned museum. It was quite the learning experience.

Fabulous place, amazing people and great medical equipment. I was seen by Dr Diego and he was very throrough, kind and knowledgable. We went through my treatment plan and he even called me to ask how was doing after the first session. I saw great results on the first day. Very happy.

We go here for 2 of our favorite restaurants. Whale's tale and haystacks. Both have great food. Haystacks is our go to restaurant for breakfast. Went there when they were at the original location. Whale's Tale is our favorite place for seafood. Their fried fish and sides are the best. If you are looking for something for breakfast or dinner either one of these you can't go wrong.

Whether you're looking to explore Clear Lake—California's largest freshwater lake—or any other picturesque lakes or rivers in the area, this marina has you covered.
Last week I rented a pontoon boat from Mt. Dora Boating Center and Marina for a family day on the water, and the experience was fantastic from start to finish. The staff was friendly, helpful, and made the rental process quick and easy. The boat was clean, well-maintained, and perfect for a relaxing cruise. We had an amazing time exploring the area and making memories. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a fun, hassle-free day out on the water with family or friends!

We’ve rented from this marina several times and only rent from them. They have what feels like brand new boats and take care of them. The staff is very helpful, and we have always had great experiences with them and the boats. We love that it’s a hassle-free experience and that they have everything you need for a great day on the water!!

What a great Marina I've stored my boat for some time and the service is impeccable. From the moment you walk into the doors you'll be greeted with a smile and professionalism. The Owner is a great advocate of his community and constantly supporting. I can't forget to mention his Christmas displays are world famous. 🌲🌲 owner Julia also takes time out to work with local high school teenagers teaching them entrepreneurship and the importance of setting goals. The rental program is everything professional and 1st class. The boats are clean new and updated constantly , but don't just read my review come up and see it for yourself you won't be disappointed!!!

Inn
Magnolia Inn Bed & Breakfast, located in downtown Mount Dora, is a 1926 Mediterranean-style home filled with antiques. This charming establishment embraces the Victorian-era style of the area. The inn offers various rooms, including the belissimo room on the ground floor with its own parking spot. Guests can enjoy a cozy and cute atmosphere during their stay. The homemade breakfast served at Magnolia Inn is a delightful departure from typical hotel fare.
Quaint and lovely! Although we only stayed one night, we felt welcomed and loved on during our stay. The home is just beautiful! The room was very comfortable and breakfast was so delicious, beautiful presentation! The owners make you feel like a party of their family! Can't wait to go back! So glad we picked this place to getaway for the night! Book today, it won't disappoint!

We spent two nights at this wonderful B&B. The owners, Sandy and Joe, were very hospitable and welcoming. The room was very comfortable, including the amazingly soft sheets and towels. The breakfasts were DELICIOUS, such a treat! The B&B is very walkable to downtown Mount Dora (which I also loved), yet quiet at night. I’d highly recommend staying at this charming B&B!
Heidi A — Google review
Excellent in every way! A perfect bed and breakfast. Accommodations were sweet, location is perfect for walking, food was delicious and hosts were gracious. We will go again.
Marie T — Google review
An absolutely fabulous experience! From the authentically warm greeting received from Sandy and Joe to an almost sad goodbye, our stay at the Magnolia Inn was magnificent. The Inn itself is beyond charming and our room (the carriage house) was warm, comfortable, immaculate, perfectly decorated, and exceeded all expectations. But . . . the magic can be found in the hearts of our hosts. They truly connect and make their home your home. You are welcomed like family. Breakfast is a gourmet event, not a meal, and prepared exquisitely. The location is ideal and the grounds tranquil. If you are visiting Mt Dora and lucky enough to reserve a room at The Magnolia. know you have made the right choice. It doesn't get any better.
Scott P — Google review
The owners, Sandy and Joe, really care about their guests happiness. The beautiful historic house and the Carriage House are perfect!! Just a few short walking blocks from the quaint city center, makes it a perfect place to leave your car and enjoy all the different shops, resturants that Mount Dora is known for.

Owners were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Our room was a nice size with comfortable bed. Rear patio was a great place to sit and relax. Breakfast was fabulous! Short walk to downtown restaurants and shops.

We go to the February Art Festival almost every year and love to stay at Magnolia Inn. The new owners, Sandy & Joe are wonderful, best visit to date. Breakfasts were delicious and the room was spotless. The location is perfect for a weekend getaway to Mount Dora, just park your car and walk the town all weekend. Thanks for hosting us. After a bad AirBnB experience, we thought our Valentine's weekend was ruined. However, we lucked out into the Magnolia Inn and not only did they rescue us, but we had a wonderful time there. This amazing 100-year-old property is literally 3 blocks from downtown. This is one of the few times I did not have to get an Uber or drive my own vehicle. We stayed in the Gatsby room which was beautiful and in the morning, we had a breakfast that was better than any I've ever had in a restaurant. Sandy and Joe really know what they're doing. We may never do airbnb in Mount Dora again.I highly recommend you check this place out.

15The Heirloom Inn Mount Dora

Inn
The Heirloom Inn Mount Dora is a historic property located in the heart of downtown Mount Dora, offering a walkable distance to main attractions. The inn features six newly remodeled suites that exude old-world charm. With its rich history dating back to 1883, it stands as one of Florida's oldest continually operating hotels. Former guests include President Calvin Coolidge and his wife, who spent a month at the inn in 1930.
We enjoyed our (1) night stay at the Heirloom Inn - guest room 2. Check-in was easy as the information was sent to us and no need to check-in at an office. The suite was very nice and smelled very clean. Had everything needed for our short stay; microwave, coffee pot with bottle water, small refrigerator. Bathroom has all the essentials needed. The location was awesome and just a short walk to downtown. We enjoyed the lovely local shops and restaurants close by. When you arrive the parking is close to the room around the back; which makes it nice as we walked and did not need to find parking. Definitely would stay here again! For "newbies" we enjoyed the town & finding our way around within walking distance. Be mindful, that most places close early during weekdays; Monday and Tuesday some of the restaurants are not open. We will be back again and plan for a longer stay.
Melissa D — Google review
We absolutely loved this place! The rooms were awesome, they provided free coffee and tea, we had everything we needed. It was right in the heart of downtown Mt. Dora, so we were able to walk everywhere we needed to go. The staff was very helpful, accommodating, and very nice. David the owner was also very helpful and very nice. We will definitely be staying here again!
Melanie H — Google review
Apart from the great location, unfortunately I cannot recommend the Heirloom Inn. As others have mentioned, the wall AC unit is very noisy. Hopefully the Inn can invest in some split unit systems one day to reduce the sound (expensive I know, but would make a big difference). The bed and pillows were not very comfortable and we were tossing and turning all night. The room could use a new coat of paint which would make it feel more fresh and clean. Single ply toilet paper should also be outlawed.
Amanda L — Google review
The Heirloom Inn was very clean, well furnished, and within walking distance of most shops and restaurants in downtown Mount Dora. We parked, stayed 2 nights and didn't drive anywhere until we left for home. Nothing fancy and not a B&B, but we enjoyed our stay very much.
Phil — Google review
We stayed at this charming little inn for one night in Room 1 (on the street side). Even though it was a Saturday night, the room was very quiet and we didn't hear any street noise. The room was also very clean, with comfortable twin beds and we both commented on how lovely the sheets smelled and how well we had slept. The location is perfect as you can walk to everything in downtown Mt. Dora. Furthermore, they really went above and beyond as I apparently dropped a hat out of my bag in the parking lot as we arrived. We were out exploring the shops and I received a call from the owner to let me know that the housekeeper had found a hat and that they had reviewed the camera footage to determine that it was mine. This was a much loved hat that I had bought in Santa Fe 20 years ago and I was so very pleasantly impressed that they took the time to figure out who lost it, and put it in a safe place and to contact me.

Perfect place to stay. Affordable, clean, and in the center of everything. Wife and I loved it and will be back again
Lyle H — Google review
First, I would like to start off with we enjoyed our short stay here! This is a review of our experience. Small Room was clean, and close to everything. Enough for two people. This was our second time staying here and wanted to recommend / point out a few things for those who are interested. The bed is just simply uncomfortable. No other way to put it. Had to be said. The room could use some rugs on floors. So bring socks/slippers. A dresser would have been nice to use. Otherwise again, we enjoyed our stay. Owners use cameras on premise so be aware. They will reach out to you for any reason. You can reach them as well. Park your car accordingly. If you get cold, they have little heaters they provided which was a nice touch. There is a remote for tv, fan/light and AC. Learn them or ask for assistance right away if your not tech savvy. Code to door entry for your room is sent to you. Tricky if you do not understand how to press the buttons ask right away if you are not understanding. Courtyard has a cute sitting area, expect nature”bugs” and leaves. Inn is located right off main street which is very nice. I didn’t hear traffic, however I did have lawn service walking next to window, being on ground floor, view to another building, seen and heard service people well, so use your blinds and ear plugs if this bothers you. You can hear others in their rooms at times remember you’re connected it’s a building and they can hear you I’m sure. Lastly, there was locked little cubbies outside our door which I believe housekeepers used, you will hear this when being used. Our previous room was a bit larger and on other side of building on ground floor, room was nice, however same thing beds were uncomfortable, unfortunately, main downside to our stay. No “inside door” for separation in your room, so if your company staying with you disturbs you, may not be the place for you. Again, we enjoyed our stay, just want to give all of our experience to others as this is a review.
J — Google review
We enjoy visiting downtown Mount Dora and this time decided to stay one night for a change. The Heirloom has a great system for communication via text and check in was easy and contact free with code. Our suite was Sapphire ( number 4) in the back of the property and the suite location as well as the covered parking were perfect for us. It was freshly cleaned, well appointed and looked exactly like the website pictures. The beds were super soft and inviting and the bathroom had toiletries something I personally appreciate. Only one block and you are in the middle of all the good places in downtown so the location is a plus. The only thing that kept this review from five stars is the need for housekeeping to pay more attention to dusting the blinds and furniture. Also, we turned off the ceiling fan because the room was nicely cold and when we saw the layers of dust on the blades it was unexpected and disappointing. If this area is corrected we will be back and next time will book the full kitchen suite. That was our original plan but it wasn't available.

What a delightful little place this is. It's basically just a piece of land jutting out from the late. The lighthouse is a nice touch. We had a lovely picnic on one of the many benches in the area. The weather was beautiful, and we even saw a seaplane take off. Overall, it was a lovely experience. The grounds are well take care of as well.
