Restaurant
The Goblin Market Restaurant & Lounge is a charming bistro located in downtown Mount Dora, offering an eclectic menu with dishes from around the world. The restaurant is housed in a historic residence and features artful masterpieces, including a Murano glass chandelier and hand-crafted tables. With a focus on local Florida ingredients, the elevated fare by celebrated chef Norman Van Aken pays homage to modernity and sustainability.
I had a hard time finding this place. I think we circled the block twice. That being said once we got in there it is a warm dark atmosphere that offers world class food. Best meal I have had in Mt. Dora and there are some good spots around town. I have a hard time trying new spots and not just returning each time I am back. If you are having a hard time deciding where to eat I will make it easy, it's here go here and if you are thinking of another place you're wrong.

This magical little restaurant was quite the surprise! If you are in Mt Dora or planning to visit, The Goblin Restaurant should be on your dining list! Walking into the restaurant, I immediately thought of Narnia. I felt like we were transported into this beautiful, secret library and fed the most delicious meal! Everything we ordered from the deviled eggs appetizer to the crème brûlée dessert was incredible! I recommend the gourmet toasted cheese, it a classy/elevated grilled cheese with caramelized onions and bacon! So delicious! Our server was very attentive, we waited for nothing and were not rushed! I am looking forward to returning for dinner in the near future! Well done, Goblin Market!! 5 ⭐️

Came in recently to enjoy lunch with a friend and my infant son. We were promptly greeted at the front and only had to wait a few minutes to be seated. We had a stroller with us other wise we would have been immediately sat up stairs. We started with some apps and drinks. I had the Irish whiskey onion soup, my friend had the crab bisque and we split the ciabatta board, these were paired with the red red wine and my boyfriend’s back. Everything was delicious! Our server Victoria was kind, attentive, and patient while we picked out our mains. To be fair everything sounded appetizing so it was difficult to pick just one! We landed on the toasted cheese and cashew chicken sandwich. Both very good and filling. We’ve made note to come back again and possibly try dinner. Although this was a bit of a pricey lunch, the food, the service, and time was worth it. IMO

If you are in Mount Dora, I highly recommend visiting. It's a fun atmosphere, while being a little more upscale. We did only visit the dining room on the first floor. We visited mid-June in 2025. We came for the whiskey irish onion soup. It was topped with fried onions, which was just ok for me. The broth was very good, but overall it wasn't what I was expecting. I ordered the sesame-garlic salmon plate. I have recently stopped eating salt, so I am tasting it quite a bit more. I felt this was a bit salty for my taste, but other than that it had good flavors. The portion was generous, and it was light enough after having the bowl of soup. My husband had their burger, which he did enjoy. I would definitely come back, and try something different. I loved the waiter and atmosphere.

My wife and I dined here in the early evening of August 13, 2025 in conjunction with a camping trip at nearby Kelly Park about 12 miles away. We had read about it prior to our trip, but we neglected to make a dinner reservation. It was a little hard to find, but we stumbled upon it in a side street after asking a local for directions as we explored downtown Mount Dora in search of it. When we arrived, the hosted said they were fully booked for the evening (and it was a Wednesday night in the summer off season), but she said there were two seats at the bar upstairs. We gladly accepted her offer, and were impressed by the beautiful inside decor and atmosphere of the restaurant as we walked to the bar to be seated. The bar and adjacent high top tables were not full yet (at 6:00 pm) so we sat and chatted with the two very friendly and professional bartenders for a few minutes, then order drinks and an appetizer (Puff Pastry Escargot). The appetizer was SO GOOD, we decided to stay and eat a full dinner, so my wife ordered a salad with beef tenderloin tips, and I ordered a rolled asiago chicken and a side cesar salad. Everything was just FIRST CLASS declicious and presented like a 5-star fine dining restaurant. This is probably the finest caliber dining you can find in Mount Dora or nearby towns of Tavares and Leesburg.

This food was fantastic. The whole experience was over the top! Our server, Tony, was amazing. The Bacon Jam Burger was delicious and the fruit cup just made me smile. These guys know how to make you happy!

We have been looking for a place like this for a long time. The service was professional and so kind. Our waitress Sara was so knowledgeable. She gave great recommendations and spoke so highly of the ingredients used. It was a pleasure speaking with her and very impressed with the pride she had in working at the Gobblin Market. The food did not let us down. After eating at so many disappointing places this was a gem to find. You can tell from only being there once that they are consistent. We ordered the ciabatta bread platter to start. My husband had the bacon jam burger and I had the cashew chicken sandwich. The food was hot and everything was absolutely delicious. The way food should be made and served. For dessert we had the crèmé brulé with strawberries and whipped cream. Needless to say there was nothing left on the plate. We cannot wait to come back. Congratulations on such an amazing menu!!!! 👏

My husband and I and some friends were visiting from out of town and happened to find this absolute gem! We only stopped in for drinks since we had made prior plans for food, but are looking forward to returning to try the menu. The drinks were fantastic and the staff were amazing!

Seafood restaurant
Pisces Rising is a popular seafood and steakhouse in Florida that offers Caribbean-inspired cuisine. The restaurant is housed in a Florida bungalow and features a beautiful deck with waterfront views. Known for its upscale dining experience, Pisces Rising uses fresh, local ingredients to create their flavorful dishes. With a casual lakefront setting and occasional live music performances, it's an enjoyable spot for lunch or dinner.
So good, we came here TWICE in one weekend! Came because it was on the "Best of 2025" list. We lucked out at 6:30 pm on a Friday and walked right in without a reservation. Our server was absolutely lovely and we LOVED our dinners. Recommend the Dora Canal cocktail, shrimp and grits, and the skirt steak. Both dishes had leftovers to take home. On our return trip, we visited the bar and listened to a great band play the town's namesake song. The noise level outside at the bar was perfect - still able to talk without yelling despite the band playing. One of the few restaurants that have a water view, and loved our visits! 100% recommend!

Wow beautiful presentations of the deserts!!! We ordered the blueberry cheesecake🫐, Creme brûlée🍮 as well as the chocolate cherry cake🍒…..and let me tell you they tasted AMAZING! Not only was the way they looked aesthetically pleasing, but they tasted phenomenal! Angela was amazing and super kind. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful sky view😍

Pisces Rising has without a doubt the best location for dining in Mount Dora. We enjoyed an excellent dinner on the terrace facing the lake, which made the evening truly special. The food was delicious, we had the paella, and it was outstanding. Service was very good, attentive without being intrusive, and the atmosphere relaxing and elegant at the same time. There’s also a nice bar option in the back, plus both indoor and outdoor dining, making it a versatile choice for any occasion.
Fernando A — Google review
My wife and I dined here on August 12, 2025 while visiting Mount Dora in conjunction with a nearby camping trip to Kelly Park in nearby Apopka. Prior to our trip, we had read the good reviews about this place, so we decided to check it out. Unfortunately we neglected to make a reservation, but we walked in about 5:15 pm thinking we could get a window-side table, but unfortunately those had all been reserved by other diners, who all showed up at around 6:00 pm. The restaurant looks like it used to be a large house or inn, and it sits up on the side of a hill overlooking the small Mount Dora Yacht Club and beautiful Lake Dora. It has a large wood deck with tables outside, an outside bar that seats about 25, and an inside elevated bar that seats about 20, and large inside dining room with about 20 tables. We were seated in a back corner below the bar, but still had a decent view of the lake. Our server was very professional, polite and prompt. My wife had the Wedge Salad and I had the Seafood Paella (a specialty here) and both of our meals were delicious. If you are visiting Mount Dora, Tavares, or Leesburg, this place is one of the top restaurants in the area and definitely worth a visit to for casual, but upscale dining. I would definitely recommend you make a reservation, particularly if you are planning to dine here anytime during the busy fall and winter months when tourists and snowbirds abound. We were there in mid-August and it was still quite busy with local residents by the time we finished dinner at 7:30 pm. It certainly has the best water view of any other restaurant in Mount Dora.
Edward M — Google review
A must visit if you want a scenic view overlooking the lake. Mount Dora was such a beautiful little town. I really enjoyed spending time there. The outdoor patio was very dog friendly and it was a relaxing, cool vibe. My only complaint was the salad I ordered was marinated steak tips and I don’t know what they did, but the meat was inedible because it was so sour. Perhaps the wrong marinade or marinated too long 🤪.
Steven S — Google review
Great! Pisces Rising is worth it. Chefs, Ellis our waiter, and waterfront ambiance were all fantastic. They recommended Shrimp and Grits, Mushroom Ravioli, and Ceasar Salad which were all delicious and filling. We will return again. P.S. - Who is the Richy guy? 😄

AMAZING! The food and service. Ask for Richie - he was the absolute best waiter. Gave us great recommendations and then made the best bananas foster for dessert. 10/10 would recommend and return

I thought i did this 2 years ago and am just realizing it never happened 😭 this vendor was the only vendor of our whole wedding that we would recommend. people still tell us how delicious our food was and how much they enjoyed the wedding. We had a cutting station with the steak and the chimichurri sauce and also went with what was essentially a white wine chicken and it was so delicious. We had about 200 or so guests and 2 years later, everyone still reminds us how delicious our food was. They don't talk about the venue, the flowers, the bar. But EVERYONE mentions the food. Amazing and would absolutely recommend. By the way, the tasting was also equally amazing. We were so unsure of things at the time with what we were planning with the vendors, but we felt so confident with our food vendor and again in retrospect... best decision we ever made. could not go with a better choice for a wedding food vendor. THANK YOU CHRIS and the Pisces rising team

Nestled in the charming West End district of Mount Dora, the Magical Meat Boutique British Pub offers a delightful escape for those seeking comfort food and a relaxed atmosphere. This family-friendly establishment is celebrated for its authentic British fare, including beloved classics like Bangers and Mash, English Fish n Chips, and gourmet burgers. With an inviting vibe that encourages guests to unwind, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner any time from 8 am until midnight.
Great atmosphere, great food and great service. The food tasted authentic and came quickly. Just tried some apps but was very impressed. If you can make an onion ring taste better than you’ve ever had, you’re doing something right.

What a great evening visiting the Magical Meat Boutique in the heart of Mount Dora. Prime Rib Night (Friday after 4) was excellent! I love Prime Rib and the cut I received for my dinner was worth every penny. The sides that come with the dish were also delicious and plenty. The service we received and the conversation we had with various staff made it an even better evening. They are very personable, quick, and very proud of the establishment they represent. This location will be closing soon, which is sad because walking around Mt Dora afterwards on a Friday evening, makes for a great and tranquil date night. Fear not, another location has softly opened nearby. Please check their page for details. I would recommend this business to those looking for a casual night out with friends, family and even alone works. I can’t wait for my next visit!

Awesome bartender/server A+. Had the Haddock and homecut fries and the scotch eggs as an appetizer. What a meal 😍 You get a huge serving that will fill you up quick! I thought everything was priced right for the meal. Highly recommend the place.

Came for weekend breakfast. There was plenty of seating inside and out. Be forewarned, though, the outdoor seating is smoking friendly. Staff was incredibly friendly and very responsive. Food came out annoyingly hot, not that that’s really an issue. Everything was well cooked and well seasoned. Excellent portion size, will definitely have to come back for the dinner menu. Went with the “full Monty” for breakfast basically a little bit of everything that is British. Not just wheelchair friendly, more wheelchair encouraged. Everything is flat, large aisles, areas where you can move tables to accommodate different size parties. There are one or two doors that might be a little difficult to get through, but there are multiple alternate entrances they also havedaily/weekly events that they post month by month. Check their calendar for latest updates. Waitress did mention that they are open on holidays, though they have not yet posted the special holiday menus at the time of rating. Thanksgiving and Christmas reservations basically required, and you could accommodate a party of 30 in there no problem.

This is the third location for the Magical Meat Boutique. I was a big fan at the original location where the rail car is in Mount Dora. The second location was hard to get to hard to park and I always felt was very noisy. Taking over the old barbecue place on Old State Road 19 in Tavares has a great deal of potential. Today's lunch could not have been better. I had the best fish and chips that I can remember in quite some time. I chose the more expensive cod but it was well worth it. They're still working the kinks out, but it's a positive attitude and a great kitchen history that continues since the 1500s back in London. Parking is easy and they're open great hours. My lunch partner had the English breakfast which is advertised for weekends only. Not sure whether they just extended the courtesy to us for Wednesday, but it was very much appreciated. Give this a place a try. You won't be disappointed.
Ray F — Google review
We had Bangers and mash in the hole and codfish and chips. The cod fish was the best I've had in a very long time. My gramps was from England and this dinner reminder me of him. My husband loved them. The yorkshire pudding bowl added a great flair to the dish It was karaoke night there. We had an amazing time. Staff even participated by singing. It was a lot of fun. The portions were well worth the price. Prices were pretty average for the area. I would highly recommend this bar and restaurant!

We are used to the magical meeting in downtown Mount Dora in the nice atmosphere sitting around in the evening. I don’t know why they moved, but we decided to try the new place. I had the breakfast combination full Scottish and my friend had the other breakfast combination, I think it was called the full Monty both were really good and it was nice to be able to taste a little bit of everything. My husband had the vegetable omelette and he said it was excellent fresh vegetables and everything in it and our other friend had a typical American style breakfast and it was good there was nothing wrong with anything. We were quite impressed, especially with the service since the server was on our own and running around like a chicken with her head cut off. I wish them the best in their new location and I hope to see them again soon. PS I’m sure glad you’re outside is smoker friendly because I have friends that smoke and I like to sit with them and enjoy the atmosphere.

We came in and sat ourselves, which was fine. The restaurant was dead, just us and another family. The waiter was an older lady who was clearly forgetful and unorganized. Someone else brought out our appetizer but didn’t give us any plates, so we ate it from the tray it came on. The waiter(the older lady) walked halfway toward us with the plates, then set them down at another table instead. Later, she brought those same plates to us after we had already finished eating the appetizer. I ordered a burger with onion rings, the burger was great, but she forgot the onion rings completely. I let her know as soon as she handed us the food. After I finished eating, she came to check on us and said, “Oh, the onion rings,” realizing she never put them in. I had already been waiting and ended up waiting even longer for them to come out. By the time they finally did, I didn’t even want them anymore. She never apologized for the mistake and still charged us separately for the onion rings, even though they were supposed to be part of the meal with just an upcharge. Not once did she smile or seem friendly the entire time. Worst service ever — would not recommend.

Fifth Avenue Streatery is a charming outdoor restaurant that has recently celebrated its first year in business despite the challenges of the pandemic. The owners, Tim Habjan and Deborah McGann, have persisted in offering Southern Fusion Meets Down-Home Cooking, All Made Daily From Scratch. They even have a special menu for dogs! The restaurant has gained popularity for its innovative take on Southern classics like fried green tomatoes and comfort foods like hotdogs.
We found this restaurant through Bringfido.com for a dog friendly atmosphere. It is an open air restaurant, basically the exterior of a converted gas station on a busy corner. However, the food is so exceptional and the staff so charming it was a hit with us. Our server, Luke, was beyond personable and attentive. I had the succulent Mt Dora Burger, oozing with flavor and cooked to perfection. The bacon potato salad was good, but the burger required my full attention and capacity. My husband had the Drunken Steer and onion rings and was fully satisfied with both. Prices are so reasonable and A++ on value for the money. We hope to try the dinner menu next time we are in the area.

Excellent service, Fantastic food, we had the Portobello Mushroom & Drunkin Steer. The Onion Rings are phenomenal. Drinks Moscato Wine & 0 alcohol Heineken. Desert NY Cheese Cake. Absolutely Recommend this restaurant. Next time we're in town it will be our go to.

I ordered the Crab Dip on Door Dash but they were out of it. They substituted the Asian Shrimp. I have eaten at this location many times and have found the food really good. The Asian Shrimp was by far the best thing I have ever eaten from this restaurant. In fact, it was one of the best things I have eaten in recent memory. I can not express how great this place is

We were in town for the first time on a day trip and wanted a place to eat outside of the hustle and bustle of downtown. Found this place on Google and decided to try it out. It was worth it. Staff was extremely friendly a.d although the seating was outdoor, the shade of the trees and nice breeze made it comfortable. The food was good as well,we had the burger, tacos and fish sandwich. All of it was good, including the shrimp appetizer. It's not fancy here, but it's also not a bad place for a quick bite.

Great place to take your favorite pooch. They have a dog menu that includes chicken and ice cream (not together). Service was great. Even the patrons were friendly!

We had lunch here because of the dog menu! Fantastic! Who does that! We found great food and better service. I had the Mt Dora burger which was cooked perfectly. I have been assessing hamburgers for years and this is in my top 10. I'd say in the top 5 in this FL area. We brought our dog and the folks couldn't have been kinder. We'll definietly be back.

Dropped by over the weekend. It wasn’t our original plan but stumbled across this little gem by pure luck. Sadly, the weather wasn’t great but the covered outdoor seating was a blessing and the heaters were on, which made a world of difference. The staff were extremely friendly, the food was very good AND THEY HAVE A DOGGIE MENU! This went down extremely well with our little pup. All-in-all a great experience and we’ll definitely be back.

Pizza restaurant
PizzAmoré is a family-friendly pizza parlor located in Mount Dora, known for its specialty pizzas and hot entrees. The restaurant has garnered a large following of pizza lovers, offering diverse flavors and styles in a casual space. It prides itself on being more than just a typical pizza joint, catering to everyone's tastes. Customers have praised the delicious food, friendly service, and unique atmosphere.
Nothing against Mount Dora but we could not find a restaurant to serve us in the middle of the afternoon in the downtown core. The Fire Marshall had shut down the Spring Arts and Craft Festival because of an impending storm. So we thought we may as well grab a meal before driving back to the Gulf Coast. Every restaurant we checked was no longer seating for lunch, not serving food until 5:00 p.m., or were closed. So we were driving out of town and saw a restaurant parking lot starting to fill up early, a good sign. We pulled into PizzAmore and what good luck! Lovely little restaurant with great food and great service. We sat in the front porch as it was bright and pleasant. I had the Black and Bleu, Texas style brisket smoked in-house with fettuccini, delicious. My wife had a flat bread pizza which she said was over the top excellent. Freshly brewed unsweetened ice tea for a beverage, very fresh tasting. And when we heard the Key Lime Pie was made in-house we ordered that for desert. Seriously good, just the right balance of sweet and tart. The next time we are in Mount Dora we now where we will be eating.

I haven’t been here in over 5 years. We had takeout. Tonight, I remember why. I’d say the pizza is more akin to one of the large national chains, and while I don’t like Pizza Hit, Dominoes or Papa John’s, it would be an insult to them to put this pizza in the same category. This pie is as basic as it gets. It’s short on toppings, sauce and flavor. But then there was the spaghetti and meatballs. Let’s start with: they pulled the meatballs out of the freezer and microwaved them for my meal. It’s the only way I can figure out why the sauce was one temp and the meatballs another. Also, notice in the picture that the meatball is completely void of sauce. Don’t worry, it was void of flavor too. Not a spec of seasoning at all. It tasted like straight hamburger. The pasta was really overcooked, which I don’t mind that much, but adding oil to you water to keep the pasta from sticking also means the sauce doesn’t stick to the pasta. No worries, the sauce was so boring I actually had to doctor it with seasoning when I got home. How do you screw up spaghetti and meatballs? I’m convinced that if you think this place has good food, you have the palate of a 5 year old. I’ve never been to a worse Italian restaurant.
Peter M — Google review
First of all this is my first time purchasing food here now I called and asked about the spinach calzone and the girl did not explain that when you get your Spanish calzone that there is only a few pieces of spinach in it and the rest of it is all cheese that is pretty much watery and oozing out of it not in a good way either and then I order their chocolate cake which is the most expensive dessert on their menu which is kind of sad because they have tiramisu and cheesecake and you would think those would be more expensive but I said hey let's try it well take a bite and it tastes like it's 10 days old it is dry and it's not that nice moist dense Rich chocolate cake that I was expecting at all this was very disappointing I spent $25 on two things and I could have bought way better food at Publix for me to make myself at home very disappointing I do not recommend them whatsoever.

I usually get pizza when I come here — who doesn’t love pizza? And it's always so good! But this time, I decided to change it up and try the Crispy Chicken Florentine, and it was divine! The service was great, and everything was on point. If you're thinking about trying something new, I definitely recommend giving it a shot. I’ll be back for sure!

Fiesta Grande Mexican Grill in Mount Dora offers a vibrant and cozy atmosphere where you can enjoy hearty Mexican dishes and refreshing margaritas. This family-owned restaurant is beloved by locals for its extensive menu featuring classic favorites like nachos, tacos, chimichangas, and queso. The portion sizes are generous, especially with their combination platters that offer a variety of flavors on one plate. Customers rave about the choriqueso with Mexican sausage and melted cheese.
Some friends invited us to supper there saying that the food was great. Their words if advice couldn't of been more accurate. We got seated right away and enjoyed a margarita while waiting for our food. Which didn't take long after our order was taken. The food came out hot and delicious. I am a burrito nut and the steak burrito was loaded full of flavor and garnishments. The prices were very reasonable even with drinks. Will definitely make a trip back there even thou it took us an hour to drive there.

I was on a food tour when I tried this place. We got fresh chips and salsa. Both were delicious. The salsa was a bit spicy but still had really good flavor. The chips were fresh. We got a delicious margarita, this place does not use wells the use Jose Cuervo. We also had a chicken taquito. So yummy. The chicken has perfect flavor and the outside was nice and crispy.

My wife and I dined here on August 11, 2025. We'd initially just walked in while exploring downtown Mt. Dora to enjoy a Margarita during happy hour, but decided to dine at the bar because the bartender (Thomas) was very friendly, and we saw how good some of the plated entrees looked and smelled as they exited the kitchen door beside where we were seated. My wife had the Beef Enchiladas Delux and I had the sampler Mexican Dinner, and both were absolutely delicious. The Margaritas were also made with fresh ingredients and top shelf Grande Centenario tequila. The atmosphere here is boisterous in the step down bar, but the chairs were comfortable and the decor was in keeping with the festive restaurant name. I will definitely dine here again the next time I visit Mount Dora because the food is delicious and the prices are pretty reasonable.

Don’t get the take out. I spent 70 dollars on tacos and quesadillas and the tacos were extremely wet and falling apart and it looked like a 3 year old slapped it together. It was all cold nothing was warm. There was also no cheese on the tacos. Edit: after calling and talking to the manager they have given us a credit of 48 dollars to use in the restaurant or for to go for a second Chance. When I have time I think I will go sit in the restaurant and try the food fresh.

The food was good. Came out fast and was super hot. I got the Baja tacos. All the staff was attentive and friendly. I would recommend this to others. Plus there’s a small parking lot across the street.

Went on a Friday 4 pm. We missed the lunch specials but got in for happy hour. We had the grilled steak and chicken tacos, and the tofu chicken fajitas. They were both very tasty and had a rich grilled flavor.. We had sangrias which were very refreshing. Paola was our server and she was friendly and informative. We will return.

We were exploring Mount Dora after not being there for a long time, when found this Mexican restaurant and decided to try it. What a delightful surprise. Food is delicious, and come hungry bc the portions are very satisfying. We ordered the taco salad, chicken and beef and they were certainly delicious. The only thing was that they were too juicy at the bottom and the tortilla was soggy, but still delicious. The staff is very friendly and helpful as well. We will go back for sure. Thank you!!!

Oh man! This place is incredible. I had a pastrami on rye, and it was melty, crispy, and delicious! The mac and cheese was homemade and phenomenal! The service was kind and attentive. Excellent atmosphere - I’ll be back, for sure!

Really tiny and cute building with inside and outside seating, staff was helpful with menu suggestions. Got the pistachio iced coffee, so so good. I ordered the blt on an asiago bagel and the ruben. Sauce for the ruben was phenomenal. Got the tortillini pasta salad as my sides. Really fresh, really enjoyed our meals.

Had high hopes especially since it said fresh but unfortunately was a huge disappointment. Got an everything bagel with an egg and provolone, came out to $9. Wouldn’t have minded if it actually tasted fresh but instead it tasted like any microwave egg and cheese on a bagel you get at any one of these fast food coffee shops 😕 staff was friendly, atmosphere was nice but the food wasn’t worth coming back. Would not recommend and do not see myself returning. They should not advertise food is fresh when it clearly is not made fresh to order.

Little shop with varios options. French toast was delicious and thick. Cold blueberry lemonade with right amount of acidity to recharge you for your next walk. Services is warm and attentive.

‼️⚠️There was GLASS in both our drinks. I ate it without realizing it was glass, just thought it was strawberry seeds or tooth filling idk.. until my fiancé pulled out a chunk that he caught with his tongue. the staff was not apologetic and almost seemed annoyed. We still payed for the food and everything. Very dangerous, careless establishment.

Me and my family of 7 came for breakfast we sat down fast and the service was great. We ordered our food and our waitress was the best. The food came out quickly and it was amazing especially the French toast casserole which the kids loved and the rest of the food was very good. Over all everything was delicious and I strongly recommend Cody’s on Fourth as a great place to eat

Breakfast restaurant
Nestled in the heart of uptown Mount Dora, Highland Street Cafe is a charming American eatery that exudes a cozy, welcoming vibe. With its checkered tablecloths and delightful dog-themed decor, this diner-style cafe offers an extensive menu filled with comfort food served all day long. Whether you're craving fluffy French toast, hearty biscuits and gravy, or even a custom-built burger for lunch, there's something to satisfy every palate.
I really enjoyed this restaurant, I had the country fried steak and a Belgian waffle. I kinda regret not getting the strawberry French toast, the table next to us had it and it looked delicious. The coffee was good, food was great, service excellent, can't complain. We left stuffed and happy :)

Cozy small restaurant with good breakfast, diner style. We had a fresh, generous omelette with hash browns, but no bread because they don't have gluten free items here. They gave us 3 slices of tomatoes instead. The presentation of the plates is simple, no frills. Service was fast and polite. The prices are just about the same as other breakfast restaurants.

What a cute place for a quick breakfast! My husband and I came in after having a busy morning and while the place was busy, the staff immediately acknowledged us and let us know they'd seat us soon. As we waited, we had the opportunity to take in all the adorable dog themed photos and decor. I loved it, being a dog mom myself. I felt right at home lol we got seated and got our drinks quickly. Our host was fast paced and to the point. We actually appreciated the efficiency and the lack of formalities. After all, the place was busy. Then our food came and OH MY GOODNESS when I tell you to get their specialties, you need to Get.Their.Specialties ! The strawberry French toast is literally cake 🍰 !!! I felt like I was very special having that plate in front of me. It was delicious. Crispy on the outside, very soft on the inside. You won't be disappointed in taste nor portion size. The only thing u would say I wish was slightly better would be the coffee, it was a tad watered down to us- but in all honestly that might just be us being used to strong espresso, so I am keeping this as 5stars all around. Now that we know this place exists, I definitely see this place as a routine stop for us from now on.

Arrived on a Monday at about 11:00am, was promptly seated by very kind staff. I went for the Philly cheesesteak—it wasn’t bad but also felt like it could’ve used a little more love. Meat felt under-seasoned however all the toppings and bread was delicious. The food came out very quickly. French fries were just shy of golden crispy, which made for a plate of floppy fries. With enough attention to detail, the restaurant can definitely improve taste wise. Otherwise, it’s your typical, cozy, down-home diner where you can expect an American diner breakfast. I will be back but will likely try something else. 👍🏻
Ross B — Google review
That stuffed toast sounds amazing, like a real comfort food dream. Fresh ingredients always make a difference, elevating a simple dish to something special. American diner style is classic for a reason, hitting that perfect balance of tasty and satisfying. It's the kind of meal that just makes you feel good. Definitely sounds like a winning experience!

Small old timer feel. Like visiting your grandmothers home when you were young. Very affordable. The english muffins came pre-buttered. Eggs are real and delicious, the sausage links were salty and delectable. I would return. There was no wait and the parking lot was full.

I love breakfast ... this place has a wonderful selection of dishes for breakfast! The apple pancakes are delicious. We also tried the biscuits and gravy... biscuits were light and fluffy... gravy was thick and creamy ... together they were amazing! Country fried steak was fantastic! Only been here for breakfast so far but prices are very reasonable, food has been amazing, and staff are awesome! Very attentive, professional and friendly. I see this becoming a regular place for us.

Well after trying to go to Mary's or Sunrise this was our last option. The waitress took our order and that was the end of her coming to our table. The coffee was soo hot you could not drink it from the mug without burning your lip. They only have a dozen tables so you know it's on purpose. Food is good but average... and they take forever to bring it too you. The table next to us moved after the first half hour of waiting it was so hot inside. In reality they need a cook, more seats and ac that works. Don't waste your time here. You can get cheaper and better food elsewhere. This is a complete disappointment.

Sushi restaurant
Wave - Asian Bistro & Sushi in Mount Dora offers a unique dining experience with its fusion cuisine. The menu features inventive sushi dishes like sushi burgers, burritos, pizza, and hot dogs alongside traditional options. In addition to sushi, they also serve hibachi meals and poke bowls. The restaurant has gained popularity on social media for its visually appealing sushi creations. Customers rave about the Orange Chicken dish and recommend trying the Mount Dora roll or Volcano Roll from their fantastic sushi menu.
Oh creative! What I went with a friend and we grabbed a couple of things that are all interesting! THE PORTIONS ARE PRETTY BIG. The sushi tots I’d say is my least favorite, there is a lot of rice tots. The donut was really good but also a lot of rice… there is a mix of seafood on the top and the selection you make is what the inside is filled with. I picked spicy tuna. The paradise roll was pretty good, balance out the other dishes that had the rice. Environment There is parking right outside. The inside is like fast casual style.. but it is a sit down restaurant. Niceness of the staff Super nice staff. Had the patience while I was looking at photos online and asking what it was. Thank you for the recommendations! Dollar It is pretty decent but getting a new things can add up Yes/no Yes I would come back

After hearing about this place from a few people, we made our way there last night and it was a great experience! The menu is full of such creative and unique dishes. We ordered a sushi pizza which was so good and the hot dog which was such a great explosion of flavor with every bite! The young man that served us was truly amazing - He was super attentive - constantly checking on us, he was funny and took such good care of us! Though we had a wait, he made it better experience.

We visited WAVE Asian Bistro & Sushi and overall it was a great experience. I’d give it a solid 4 out of 5 stars. The creative fusion dishes and friendly service were the highlights, with just a few minor issues in the ambiance keeping it from a perfect score. We ordered the spicy shrimp “sushi hot dog” and one of their sushi pizzas, and both dishes were as flavorful as they were inventive. The hot dog (a sushi roll cleverly presented like a hot dog) had a good kick of spice yet remained well-balanced: a nice heat that doesn’t overwhelm the fresh shrimp and other ingredients. The pizza was another fun fusion surprise: it might sound unusual, but it turned out delicious, with fresh fish and tasty toppings coming together like an Asian twist on a comfort food. You can tell a lot of thought went into these unique menu items, and they definitely delivered on flavor and creativity. The service at WAVE was very good. Our server was attentive and genuinely friendly, checking on us often without hovering. Despite the restaurant being busy and lively, we never felt neglected. Water glasses were refilled promptly, and the staff was happy to answer our questions about the menu (which was helpful given the many unusual offerings!). The overall impression was that the team cares about their guests having a good time. The restaurant has a lively, energetic vibe. It’s clearly a popular spot. However, be aware that the ambiance is on the darker side and gets pretty loud. While the space was clean and comfortable, the interior decor itself felt a bit old and tired. The furnishings and overall look could use a refresh to match the modern creativity of the menu. This slightly dated atmosphere was really the only downside of our visit, and it held the experience back from being a full 5-star outing. WAVE is a fantastic place if you’re looking to try something different and fun. The fusion sushi creations (like that hot dog and sushi pizza) are flavorful and memorable, and the friendly service makes you feel welcome. If they updated the interior and maybe toned down the noise just a notch, it would easily be a 5-star experience. As it stands, it’s a strong 4-star for me.

Wow! This place was amazing! Not only was the food, innovative and creative, but freaking delicious! Really good value as well, we got so much food and there were so many things we wanted to try so we’re going to have to go back! We started with the Sushi tots- total, Yum! Great flavor, and a nice amount of spices. And a huge serving! Then we had the Godzilla roll and the softshell taco, which was insane! This place was just fun. The food is fun. The staff is great and we can’t wait to go back.

food was amazing! really like the asian fusion sushi. Our server was awesome and gave us great recommendations, like the krab rangoon mozzarella sticks (a MUST). Well… the hype for this place and my months of seeing them on Instagram wishing I could go, finally paid off. Amazing. The sushi burger was HUGE I had to use a fork and knife (a sin I know) but my jaw doesn’t unhinge like that. It was so good, they give so much spicy tuna. The price is worth it. Same thing for the pizza! Huge! Also eaten with a fork and knife. So many options to choose from but very happy with our choices. Would love to go back and try more, even fried in hot Cheetos. The staff were all very nice and helpful when we couldn’t decide! Inside was very clean, service was quick too. A must try for sure :)

Expectations exceeded several years in the making! My wife and I have been following Wave on TikTok for several years now, and we finally got the chance to visit. It was even better than expected, we got the sushi hot dog, the tuna supreme pizza, and the sushi crunch wrap supreme. The amount of fish was extremely generous, probably the most generous we’ve ever had for us being longtime sushi fanatics. Tasted fresh and delicious and was way more affordable than I expected. For the amount of fish we had I expected easily 50% higher prices. We made an hour detour on a road trip to visit and we’re sad we don’t live closer, otherwise we’d be coming here every other week!

This place is so good. Its always busy but service is grear. Drinks are always refilled and food is served hot. Servers are really nice 👍. I had a build your own pizza and it was delicious. Kris had the hot ham and cheese. Huge portion of fries. I really recommend this restaurant for pizza.

Ordered for takeout. Tasty food. Appears popular because the place was packed on a Friday for lunch. All seats filled. That's always a good sign. I forgot to take pics, but the main claim to fame was a calzone. Was good, but not our thing. Way too much for two people. I will try pizza next time.

So this was our first time going here. Read the reviews and pics looked good. Someone said in the reviews that the chicken Alfredo was the best they ever had. Well, then you need to get out more because there was absolutely no flavor and noodles were over cooked. The chicken tasted like it was boiled and had no flavor either. Not worth $20 if you ask me. Portion was also small for $20. Cheaper to make at home. The garlic knots werent the best either. The pizza was the only thing I’d get again.

I've hit up Mount Dora Pizza & Subs three times since getting back to town, and each visit has been a home run. One of those times, they even hosted a big gathering for me and my buddies. Talk about great service! We've tackled their pizza, wings, calzone, and salad. Every single item? Top tier, no question. The flavors are spot on, and the quality is consistently high. And let me tell you about their meat sauce, it's a game-changer, seriously out of this world As family friends, they've always made sure our experiences are the same as regular customers. It's a no brainer for me. I'll always swing by Mount Dora Pizza & Subs when I'm in the area. If you're looking for some quality eats, this is the spot. Highly recommend!

Tonight we ordered a large half cheese half pepperoni pizza and 8 garlic knots and they were so so yummy. Also when we arrived there was a line to the door and barely any empty seats in the whole place, they were so busy and despite how busy they were our food was fresh and delicious our service was also phenomenal. Thank you guys for the great service! Also noticed a woman in front of me who was waiting on something fresh getting a little rude about waiting and I would just like to say sorry on behalf of that behavior. You guys were killing it with how busy you were and your front counter girly handled it very well! Thanks again 😁

The Frog and Monkey Restaurant & Pub is a classic cellar pub that serves traditional bar food like fish 'n' chips and hosts live music events. The establishment also features an old British bar atmosphere, making it a unique spot to grab a meal or drinks. Additionally, the venue has been known to host performances by American Idol contestant David Oliver Willis and other local musicians. Customers can enjoy cold draft beers while taking in the lively ambiance of this underground pub.
Visited The Frog and Monkey in Mt. Dora and now I get why it’s a local favorite. It’s a cool little spot with a laid-back, tucked-away vibe—perfect for grabbing a bite and escaping the crowds. I had the Ruby Burger, and it was seriously delicious. Perfectly cooked, juicy, and stacked with flavor. You can tell they know their way around a burger here. We started with the beer-battered mushrooms, and they were a hit—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and packed with flavor. Definitely recommend if you’re into appetizers that don’t feel like an afterthought. Service was friendly, the food came out hot, and overall it was a great experience. If you’re in Mt. Dora and craving a good burger and some comfort food with a twist, this place should be on your list.

The Frog and Monkey in Mount Dora is an absolute gem tucked away in the basement of the historic Renaissance building. The ambiance is fantastic, blending a cozy pub vibe with a touch of mystery thanks to the building’s reputation for spirits—both the ghostly kind and the liquid kind! Word has it the pub might even have some friendly ghosts of its own, adding to its unique charm. The drink selection is excellent, offering a wide array of cocktails, wines, and beers. There’s truly something for everyone. The food is equally impressive. I tried their wings with the house blueberry and maple sauce, and they were absolutely delicious—I had no trouble finishing every last bite! My girlfriend opted for the banh mi tacos, which she thoroughly enjoyed. The live music was a definite highlight, adding energy and fun to the already great vibes. The service was friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. If you’re in Mount Dora and looking for a spot with good food, great drinks, and a lively atmosphere (maybe even a ghostly encounter), The Frog and Monkey is a must-visit. Highly recommend!

Great happy hour. Downstairs, cute place. Feels like a local place. You can even get your beer to go. The problem with this place, is there is a piano in the corner that is amplified. People, especially drunk people, sit at the piano and bang away. The noise in such a small place. It's intolerable. We had to leave, thank goodness we could get our beer to go. Not sure who thought a public piano in a bar was a good idea.

Wandering the downtown Mount Dora for an evening during the Christmas season, we were hungry and found ourselves going downstairs to the Frog & Monkey Restaurant & Pub. Nights are busy for Christmas in this historic district, so we were pleased to be seated immediately, albeit at the bar. The employees were dressed for the season, and we enjoyed the live music of a guitarist/singer playing classic rock music on the little stage in the corner. We enjoyed looking around at the eclectic memorabilia while we waited for our meals. We enjoyed the aroma of fresh burgers being cooked, so our appetites were piqued when our food arrived. The burgers were as good as they smelled, if a bit more rare than ordered. Long story long, our meal at the Frog & Monkey contributed in a huge way to the enjoyment of our pre-Christmas evening. There is a more-than-reasonable chance we will dine here again. I definitely recommend you visit this bar in the alley the next time you're downtown Mount Dora and you're hungry - or just for a quick drink. It's worth it!

I ordered food here and when we get it home, I open it up and as you can see in the picture. How small that is, they charged $19 for it. I call in about it to let them know that I was unhappy and they said that there was nothing that they can do. I do not recommend this place. They are way overpriced for the amount of food that you get. That container is literally three inches in size that's what you get for $19. Its called cottage pie. If you don't mind being overcharged, eat here, but I wouldn't suggest it. Especially in these hard times we work hard for our money.

Was absolutely amazing. We came to Florida for a vacation. And we ended up getting engaged last night so we went out on a date today and chose to go here. It was wonderful. Everyone was very nice, it is very clean, food came out so quick and was delicious. We got bbq wings, steak wrap, and a bacon cheeseburger. We were shocked how quickly they came out with the food. And how inexpensive everything is. We left the server a large tip because she was amazing and she made our first dinner as an engaged couple even better.

I was here for the craft fair. The place was busy so I figured it was good. Unfortunately this was a bust. My Mom and I ordered a Fall Sangria which was the most sour tasting drink I have ever had. After one sip we asked our server Laz if we could get a different drink. He said all alcohol sales are final so we would be charged anyhow. After adding sugar to the drink from the table, we were able to drink it though it was not good. The Reuben had chunks of corn beef with lots of fat. Burger was ok but not well seasoned. I would not come here again.

The flavors are always super fresh and bold despite my son only getting vanilla every single time. It’s always good, the texture is always smooth and perfect, not icy or too soft. The staff are always friendly and welcoming too, which makes the whole experience even better customer satisfaction is everything. 😁 I want to salute Mily her customer service was immaculate she went out her way to make sure I had wet wipes for my son even though I didn’t ask for it and she made sure that we were well taken care of. Jendalyn on the other hand, despite the downtime she had after a rush. Instead of relaxing she came out on the floor and wiped down all the tables to make sure all was clean for the next guest. J’s Ice is definitely my go-to spot for a sweet treat for my son on a hot 🥵 or cold 🥶 day. Highly recommend checking it out! If you just moved to the area. There’s no way you can miss it. It is located in the same plaza as Tropical Smoothie and it is in between Foxtail Coffee and Orange theory. If you are coming from 441 headed north after you make a right on FL-44 it will be your first right. 📍

Barbie was a pleasure to have as a waitress. She said she has been there for 25 years. That slone shows a good establishment to me. I used to come here in the 1990s. I enjoyed my cheeseburger. Cooked well, like I like them. I have had issues with other restaurants lately not believing I want well done. This one was good. We also shared a crab dip that was pretty good. The chips snd toast were a little meh. They have lots of bar areas so I was happy when we were seated in a cozy back room with comfortable booths. I appreciate comfortable seating at my age .

I really don't know where to start. Family member just moved to the area and we tried Jeremiah's. Like the others say, the decor is nice and that's about where it ends. Son ordered a steak medium rare and you can see from the pictures it was more than well done to say the least, order of baby backs tasted like it was out of the freezer thawed and re heated. My burger was ordered medium and it came dry and well done. Cold fries, the slaw looked amazing but fell short because it was very bland. The soda tasted like dirty Florida water. This place is a one and done for us and the bill was well over $100 bucks. Try another place unless you want to sit at the bar and not eat.

What can I say? This place is a lot of fun and brings to mind the hearty flavors of a good beef dish. O’Brady‘s offers a nice variety of food choices, making it a welcoming spot for any craving. The atmosphere is fantastic, with so many cool things hanging from the ceiling — definitely worth taking a good look around! You're bound to be quite impressed. Most people left satisfied with their meals, and I’d say the portion sizes are generous. The beer was wonderfully cold, parking was plentiful, and they accept both cash and credit cards, which is always convenient. Plus, they were able to comfortably accommodate our group of 17. It’s a place I’d happily visit again!

Nice little spot in Mt Dora FL ! Food was delicious and good could’ve been a little fresher salad but wasn’t bad . Wife’s fries were cold but didn’t feel like sending back. All in all not a bad place we will give them another try for sure!

Great hangout from out of town and found this gem. Food was great drinks were cold. Bartender was awesome would definitely recommend.

So it's little older but nice place. Staff is nice and food is alright let's say better than Chili's. Lots of room and the parking is pretty easy. It's just tends to gather people from all over so be ready for different attitudes from customers. Some can be nice and some pretty rude. Some events would really help this place and little Reno to bring it up a small bit

Great little tavern that is very historic. The staff is pleasant and competent and the burger was one of the best I ever had. Get it with blue cheese.

Nestled in the heart of downtown Mount Dora, Olive Branch Mediterranean - Italian Grille & Bar is a delightful destination for those seeking a taste of both Mediterranean and Italian cuisine. This charming eatery boasts a diverse menu that features everything from fresh seafood to delectable pasta dishes, alongside refreshing Greek salads and perfectly cooked meats. The inviting atmosphere makes it an ideal spot to relax with friends while enjoying their renowned pastas and sweet treats like baklava and cannoli.
Went here with my friend for a late-night dinner. We were greeted and welcomed. The interior has been redecorated since I was here and looks very professionally done. Excellent food and wine. Our server, George, was very attentive throughout the entire experience. My friend and I ordered the veal parmigiana and veal marsala. Some parts of our veal were a little on the tough side, but nothing complaint-worthy. I would likely order the chicken instead if we came back. We finished off the night with a cappuccino, warming ourselves up before the journey back home.

The people were great, and my rating is not about them. They were all friendly and outgoing. The calamari was ok, but the rest of the food was not what I expected. My over all impression was not positive. The meatball sub was, what felt like, a grocery store white loaf, cut in half with rather bland red sause and some ok meatballs. That was the same for the rest of our party. For the price, I would have expected better quality food.

Came for a birthday dinner while on a girls’ trip and could not have chosen a better spot! From the stunning water views to the live music and exceptional service, every detail was perfect. Dylan was our server, and I can honestly say I’ve never experienced better service at any restaurant. Coming from Miami, this place felt like a true breath of fresh air. And the food—absolutely delicious! The fresh bread with oil and balsamic was the perfect start, the Caesar salad was to die for, and the pasta was incredible. 10/10, we were amazed and will definitely be coming back!

My girlfriend and I had a fabulous dining experience. Our server Rene was so friendly and attentive bringing our food and drinks at perfect pace. The food was amazing. A delightful ceasar salad with delicious bread and seasoned olive oil was the ideal starter for the crispy and tantalizing chicken parmesan. Every bite was quite satisfying. We finished our meal and then walked down to watch the breathtaking sunset on Lake Dora. Thank you Olive Branch for kick-starting a great evening.
Robert B — Google review
The server was wonderful. The red sauce and meatballs were excellent but the pasta was overcooked. This is kind of an important part of the spaghetti and meatballs dish so that's why only 3 stars for food. They didn't have any spaghetti noodles left so they served it with linguine. This would be fine but the server disclosed that the reason was because it was a very busy weekend (arts fest) and they went through a lot of spaghetti. He said that they were going to serve me what was left from yesterday but when he saw it he stopped them and offered me the linguini. I'm sorry, but spaghetti noodles are not so expensive that you need to serve yesterday's noodles to anybody. The Mediterranean salad was kind of limp. The bread and oil were very good. The salmon was cooked well.
Judith P — Google review
I tried this place on the food tour. The samples of the food we tried was really good. We started off with a Greek salad then a small pasta dish with vodka sauce. We also had a house white wine similar to a Chardonnay and a red I believe that was closer to a Cabernet.
Kristy — Google review
For those two people we were with that ordered the chicken Parmesan. They had a lovely meal. I ordered the rigatoni with broccoli sautéed in olive oil. I was deeply disappointed that my pasta dish was sitting in a half inch of water and tasted very bland. The Mediterranean seafood dish was sitting in water as well, and the scallops were minuscule, seasoning bland. I had heard this restaurant was really good, but apparently has gone downhill or the chef had an off night. If they would have prepared the pasta dishes properly and season them it would’ve been a different experience.
Janine E — Google review
Horrible experience. They were out of a number of items on the menu. The salmon we had was the worst salmon I ever had. The vegetables were over cooked and uneatable. Both of us had horrible stomach problems the next day. A glass of wine was over priced at $18 a glass. Enough said. Eat there at your own risk.

Perched above the charming streets of downtown Mount Dora, One Flight Up Cafe offers a cozy and relaxed atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating. This popular spot is known for its balcony overlooking Main Street, providing a perfect setting for people-watching or enjoying the stellar sunsets that the area is famous for. The cafe serves up a variety of light fare including quiches, sandwiches, salads, and soups for brunch or lunch.
Had a charcuterie lunch with beer and wine. It was absolutely fantastic. We got both boards and were very happy with it. They were very shareable between two people, filling, ingredients were fresh. The honey was absolutely delicious and sweet. We sat on the second floor balcony, which added to the experience. Quick service with friendly staff. Would recommend and come again.
Eryka G — Google review
Underwhelming. Expected a bit more based on several of the reviews. Located upstairs (duh), One Flight Up has a simple cafe menu with very limited breakfast offerings. I had the Quiche (spinach, artichoke). A small slice, tasty, but overall disappointing since I paid $9. The one-size Latte, served in a plain mug, was basic, hot, but not very strong (recommend getting an extra shot) Perhaps a better lunch place. The atmosphere was the best part about the place; nice, kitchy, ample indoor and outdoor patio seating with a lot of original art with 70’s music playing in the background. Overall, not bad but not worth the price I paid. Lots of other choices in town.
David P — Google review
Charming upstairs eatery open fairly early (as Mt Dora goes) with a balcony view of Donnelly Street. During any town events, this spot fills up quickly, so the best time to enjoy it is just as soon as it opens. The bread pudding is pricey ($7.50 for a little single-serving ramekin) but absolutely delicious! Pet-friendly. Very friendly and accommodating staff.

Great spot in Mount Dora once you climb the stairs leaving behind the 90° weather. Staff is super friendly and pleasant. We were super hungry after checking in at an Airbnb two blocks down and we ordered take out. The Turkey Sandwiches were delicious and more than one person can consume and the quiche did not disappoint. Only one picture of our food due to being famished and devouring our meals.

I come here all the time. Very good service and a cozy atmosphere. Cheesey onion dip is amazing. They use fresh deli meat on the sandwiches and the egg sandwich is very filling. Not to mention the delicious frozen chai latte and blueberry muffins. But today I had a turkey Swiss sandwich to split with my daughter and the onion dip. It was perfect to share for two people. Great lunch. The bread is fresh and fluffy. Overall a great sandwich.
Jalexsa O — Google review
First time in historic Mount Dora and One Flight Up Cafe. View and service were nice. A bit busy and noisy corner. Food was just ok and basic. We had the Grilled chicken Caesar Salad and Salmon Caesar salad. The chicken was processed type and not fresh grilled chicken. My wife’s salmon salad seemed ok. I would probably try the sandwiches next time if we go.
Mike N — Google review
Nice place with great service. The food was just okay, but the coffee was great. I ordered a salmon ceasar salad which was garnished with tomatoes and crackers. The salmon was on the bland side and overcooked. The best thing about this place is the atmosphere. They have a balcony you can sit on and enjoy your meal or coffee. My mother in law says it is a great place to gather with friends and enjoy a pitcher of sangria. I would recommend the cafe for the view.

Cozy coffee, dessert and wine bar. Especially sitting on the balcony is a nice way to relax. The service is excellent, and dessert portion is generous. The price actually very reasonable. If able to handle the stairs, could be a good designated break time hangout while you enjoying Mount Dora.

Situated in Mount Dora, it exudes the ambiance of a quaint New England town combined with the allure of Old Florida. The inn provides various activities suitable for different types of getaways, whether it's a romantic escape, a girls' weekend, or a family vacation. I have had the pleasure of visiting this establishment a few times now and each visit has been exceptional. Our server, Norah, was delightful and attentive. We swapped stories and shared experiences of surviving a hurricane. I would highly recommend a visit. Grab a drink and enjoy watching time slow down from the porch.

First! Thank you Corrie for recommending the orange cake! It was delicious. Soft, light, and creamy! We loved it. This Inn is our favorite when we stay in Mt Dora. The building it self is adorable. Rooms are always so clean and comfortable. The staff is #1… The views of Lake mt Dora are spectacular. We love to seat at the big balcony and rock on the chairs just looking at all the people enjoy the many things that go on in this cute area. It has easy access to all the great places like trails, restaurants and any festivals that are happening since is in the center of the historical area. We just love it! If you want to rest, enjoy good views, and shop at very interesting cute shops… I recommend this hotel as a place to stay while you are in mt Dora!

My wife and I didn't stay (have a room/lodging here) but we did a walk through of the lobby and adjacent bar while walking around Mount Dora on the early evening of August 13, 2025. This place looked "Old World Elegant" and very well maintained, so I may consider staying here the next time we visit Mount Dora on a non-camper trip. I've attached pictures for your viewing so you can see how nice it is. It's got a beautiful view of Lake Dora and some of the rooms sit right on the water.

If you want to step back in time, the Lakeside Inn in Mount Dora is the place to stay. Erected in 1883, the Inn is situated next to the Mount Dora Lake with a great view of the lake and sunsets. It has two other bedding facilities, gift shop and a pool next to the lake with breathtaking views. Their kitchen prepares a wide variety of American and traditional cuisine. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and they provide multiple places to eat such as the outdoor seating facing the lake and indoor seating at the Tremain's Tavern or the Beauclaire with views of their lush gardens. The service staff are very attentive and warm ensuring you are comfortable and enjoy your experience in the Inn. We were warmly greeted by Judy and Nicole who acquainted us with the Inn. Kim who served us breakfast, provided tips to further enjoy the town, and Justin went over and above to ensure we had a great food experience and enjoyed our stay. The Lakeside Inn promises a memorable experience combining history, relaxation, and delicious cuisine in a charming setting.I highly recommend you stay at the Inn the next time you visit Mount Dora.

Amazing food, amazing service. Good prices, very authentic atmosphere could not ask for more. If you are looking for Cuban food or just a really good restaurant to check out. We waited an hour for the dishes, but they didn’t arrive together. We received three discounted dishes because their cooking and preparation were not adequate. It’s not the first time we’ve visited this place, but we’re sure it’s the last. * *Ahahaha, how nice your response is—so sarcastic and defensive. [Hopefully, people aren’t as unforgiving to you!] Quite passive-aggressive. This is a great gem in the historic downtown Mount Dora. The Indian food is terrific. If you think you don’t appreciate Indian food, give this a try. The flavors are great. I spoke with the server and all of the dishes are made to order. The chicken and lentil dishes were great!

This is absolutely ridiculous I never leave reviews but I’m fed up with this place delivery, you’re spending 25+ on a meal and look at the portions these people giving. The rice isn’t even enough for a kids. Absolutely ridiculous. Like come on have some pride everyone complaining about the same nonsense, I understand you’re the only Indian spot in mt Dora so u feel like u can take advantage of the people here but damn man charge more if u so greedy and give people enough food to have a meal man! I don’t mind paying more but it seems you’re all about maximizing profit while screwing your customers. Makes no damn sense! This the last time yal get my money im over it. Btw the pic of the rice isn’t a fluke that thing is one adult portion lol

Went here for my daughter's birthday. I have been many times before as well. The restaurant is nice and food is good. The server we had was clearly new and struggled with taking a simple order. But I'm sure that's more of a rarity there. The butter chicken and cheese Naan were amazing as always. My only complaint on the food was the rice portion was small. Very skimpy on the rice. But overall a great meal.
Randy T — Google review
The owner of this place is very rude and nasty. If I could rate it negative zero I would. Butter chicken didn’t look or taste like butter chicken and he had the audacity to tell me everyone else eat it for me to eat it. I’ll eat Mc Donald before eating anything there. Never again and I DO NOT RECOMMEND that nasty place. Rice was very clumpy.

Update: do not order takeout for this restaurant. You will get less food for the same price. I honestly don't know what they were thinking. Maybe they need more/different food containers to support the food proportions you get when u sit inside. ___________________ This is a beautiful Indian restaurant with delicious food! Coming from NYC it was difficult to find a nearby Indian restaurant nearby until I found Shiva. I had the samosa chaat and chili cauliflower which were both very flavorful. I will definitely return!

I wanted to try this place for so long. I was not disappointed. Food was delicious, well seasoned, and the right amount of spiciness. Lamb chops were outstanding 👌. Naan bread was delicious. The potatoes were also very tasty. There is something about food when the chef pays attention to details. It takes food to the next level. This became one of my favorite places in Mount Dora. Service was good too, very friendly and welcoming.

We normally LOVE Shiva, we always recommend to family and friends. Great restaurant, great flavors. But tonight we ordered takeout and it was downright bland. Very little flavor in the lamb korma, the chicken korma was absent of flavor completely and was only spicy (we ordered it spicy). Our order was ready exactly when we were told it would be, so no issues with service at all. Very friendly staff. Small, but cozy atmosphere. So sad because we usually love this place, but so disappointed in this visit’s food. Also when I went to the restaurant to pick the order up, the place was empty, not a single table taken. This was on a Saturday night and downtown was bustling. I hope this isn’t a glimpse into the future of Shiva.

The cuisine at Jk Thai & Sushi was satisfactory, but what perplexes me is their menu presentation. Considering the current year of 2021 and the challenges faced by businesses during a global pandemic, it is surprising to see that their menu appears blurry, distorted, and lacking in vibrant colors. While I acknowledge that some restaurants in Thailand may adopt a similar approach, I believe that this choice does not do justice to the quality of their fresh and visually appealing food.
This place is located in the beautiful city of Mt. Dora. It's a nice restaurant with a nice outdoor seating area. Although we frequent Mt Dora, this was our first time here and wished we had come sooner. The menu is great with many delicious options. The curries are excellent, I asked for super Thai spicy red curry and it was absolutely delicious!!!! We ordered several things off the menu and they were all great. The service was awesome, the server was friendly, helpful and quick to serve. I recommend trying this place and don't think you will be disappointed.

I've always been seated within moments of walking in and treated well by the staff. My wife and I have enjoyed all our meals as they have phenomenal presentation and taste to match. Regardless of how busy the restaurant is, I've always gotten my order quickly. I enjoyed the waterfall beef salad I had and my wife was a fan of the red curry. We also split a chicken satay appetizer, which has delicious peanut sauce! All of the dishes had great portion sizing and a wonderful blend of ingredients. I never felt like I was eating just greens or proteins. The seating and restaurant have always been clean and the atmosphere is nice. They do offer outdoor seating, which is lovely when the weather isn't too hot. Overall I can't recommend this place enough!

My husband, as someone who has visited Thailand, said “food was delicious and authentic.” Our waitress was sweet and attentive. Did not get a picture before we started digging into the mango sticky rice as we were so excited. Definitely will be back! Highly recommend!

This was a perfect lunch spot after our appointment in Mount Dora. My husband and I both enjoy a good curry. He had the yellow curry with chicken and I chose the green curry with chicken. His yellow curry was coconut smooth, flavorful, and filling, my green curry was nice and spicy, and the food was served very hot so we could take our time eating slowly and the food stayed warm throughout the meal. Our waitress was very pleasant and very timely in all aspects of service. The facility may be older, however I felt it was very clean and kept up, which made me relax and enjoy my food feeling that it was prepared in a hygienic and healthy environment.

JK is a fantastic thai restaurant right in the heart of Mount Dora. The service was quick and friendly and the food was delicious. We had the red curry with chicken and enjoyed it very much. It was a bit thinner than many curries we’ve had, but packed with flavor. The Pad Ke Mao with beef had lots of vegetables and the beef was very high quality. If you’re looking for great Thai food, I highly recommend this place. They also have a patio for outdoor seating.

If you're looking for a delightful culinary experience, Ken's Amish Deli & Bakery is the perfect stop during your downtown adventures. This charming spot offers an impressive selection of deli meats, cheeses, and pastries that will tantalize your taste buds. Their Reuben sandwich stands out with generous pastrami, perfectly balanced kraut, and Russian dressing all nestled in sturdy marble rye bread—no sogginess here! On Fridays, don't miss their creampuffs; they're simply divine and worth every penny.
Okay, so these guys do a Reuben sandwich as good as anyone and better than most. I got a generous amount of pastrami with just the right amount of kraut and Russian dressing. The marble rye stood up to the kraut and dressing without turning to mush (I hate that). You get some chips and a serving of macaroni salad, which also was very good. Friday is creampuff Friday (who knew?) And I must say it was one of the best creampuffs I have ever had. Absolutely worth the few extra bucks. I am looking forward to going back and trying the other menu items and the Amish preserves from their little market. The out door seating is great. Mostly two tops. The parking is in the rear, but there is a public parking lot within 50 feet of the restaurant in case you go zipping past the entrance to their parking lot.

Wonderful place for delicious sandwiches, cold cuts, and mini organic groceries. Got the chicken salad sandwich and the bread is so soft and tastes fresh. The apple and blueberry ciders are highly recommended. Definitely a must place to dine when visiting Mt. Dora.

The donut did not make the photo. The Italian lemon cake was good. The layers had a little density to which made it great. And it was a nice mild lemon taste. Im definitely going back for the other cakes.

Friendly staff and extremely helpful. All sandwiches are cut fresh and made to order. Can also buy Amish goods and they also do some baking. The breakfast items looked amazing but we missed the time. So I got the Country Reuben. Only down fall to the place is it's all outdoor seating only but the area is covered.

Cheese! We got cheese curds to take home and fry up. Great atmosphere, small gift shop. Bought some pepper jam and honey mustard for my daughter. Here from Dallas visiting family.

Great sandwiches! Cool little place to stop in and have lunch at! Ken’s has a lot to offer from deli meats, cheeses and pastries. Also, they serve jams and other spreads that are Amish inspired. Nice little gift shop with plenty of stuff to choose from. They have some of the BEST deli sandwiches around too by the way! Would much rather come here for a sandwich than Publix any day. Staff is also nice as well! Aaron Rodgers would be proud! :)

Friendly staff but was looking for donuts or pastries for the morning. A few croissants but not much fresh baked that I saw and no donuts. Settled for some frozen cinnamon rolls that needed to be thawed. When the sign says bakery I was looking for something fresh baked. Maybe deli food is better and will update this review if we come back.

Barnwood Bar-B-Que, originally a food truck, has now become a renowned BBQ spot located just outside Mount Dora. The restaurant serves breakfast and lunch with a menu featuring hearty dishes like biscuits and gravy, in-house smoked sausages, pancakes, and omelets. Known for its award-winning barbecue and homemade pies and desserts, the place also sells its signature barbecue sauce on-site.
If you like pulled pork BBQ, search no more! They have pulled pork platters, pulled pork sandwiches, pulled pork on top of brats, pulled pork on tater tots or baked potatoes! So many delicious options for this slow cooked BBQ favorite! Barnwood also offers brisket and burgers and so much more. The waitress was frequently checking up on the table to make sure we were happy, our drinks were topped off and we had whatever we needed for an enjoyable meal. So, in short Barnwood is friendly and delicious--go check them out!

Real cocking, very good flavor and fare size and portions. I will say they are under staff, we almost leave the restaurant, it took time for them to noticed that we were waiting for a table.

Absolutely amazing!! I got the BBQ ribs and chicken combo with the mac and cheese and baked beans and couldn't be happier! The garlic toast was fantastic. I really enjoyed the BBQ that came with it, but their mustard BBQ was my favorite! The service was great! Would definitely recommend to try this place out!

Excellent down home cooking served with a smile! Friendly helpful staff makes you feel like a local! Great location serves an excellent breakfast. They have bee hives outback and you can watch them busy buzzing and working to make fresh delicious honey! I just had to Bring home a bottle for myself and family love it! So much I’m starting a collection of locally sourced honey! You’d be amazed at how different each one taste do to where the bees are collecting it from!!

My wife and I went there today. When we arrived my sugar was dropping and I was in need of something sweet. I walked over to a waitress and ask if she could get me some orange juice to bring my sugar up. She didn't hesitate at all, got me some juice and saved the day for me. I thank you. The food was very good, we had the ribs. The restaurant was very clean, good food and friendly staff. We will be back.

Came here for a work lunch. This place is super cute and homey! Server was knowledgeable and friendly and food was delicious and hot! Now for dessert...their incredible home made banana pudding?! Yes please! Thank you for taking such good care of us! Will definitely be returning with my family and friends and recommending to others!

Small and homey BBQ place on Old 441. We had lunch, dine-in. Very good food and excellent service. I had a mimosa(OJ and cranberry) for $4.99. It was the most generous glass of mimosas I've ever had! Pork spareribs good smokey taste. A little fatty and some people like that. Good mashed with gravy. Beef brisket sandwich tasty. Ended the meal with dessert. We had 3 choices: banana pudding, peach cobbler and whipped peanut butter and chocolate cream pie. My son chose the 3rd option. It was tasty and quite rich. We had a great lunch. I recommend Barnwood BBQ and we will visit again.

It's the perfect spot for both locals and visitors to unwind, whether you're indulging in their freshly brewed coffee or sampling from an impressive selection of 14 draft beers and over 150 packaged options.

I had a simply decent experience with a delicious parfait. The yogurt was hearty, not runny, fresh fruit, layers of honey, & fresh crunchy granola. So good! The spot was cozy with lots of seating. They have a kitchen that brings food to your table, but no servers. The bathroom is adorable, but very small so not mobility friendly. Unfortunately as expected in old mount dora. I visited on a busy art festival day, and i noticed some staff acted frazzled which came off a little rude. Im going to assume it was a fluke due to a busy time because that parfait was so good.

I actually really love this little place and the fun events they offer. Staff are always polite and patient-- even when I dropped by for a caffeine boost with two rowdy babies (2 under 2) once lol. Which, on that note, I really like that they have late nights those are always a blessing. Will continue to come for sure! P.S. Absolutely love this coffee shop! Every time I come in, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming the kind of place that instantly brightens your day. The drinks are always spot-on, with rich, balanced flavors and consistent quality. The staff here truly make the difference. They’re not only quick and efficient, but also genuinely kind and personable, making every visit feel special. It’s clear they care about both the coffee and the customers. Whether you’re grabbing a quick latte on the way to work or settling in with a book, this shop delivers the perfect mix of comfort and quality. Easily my favorite coffee spot in town highly recommend!

Nestled in the charming town of Mount Dora, Mount Dora Brewing offers a delightful brewpub experience that combines American cuisine with a vibrant atmosphere. The venue features quirky dining rooms adorned with eclectic decor, including a whimsical rocking horse-style rabbit that adds to its charm. Guests can enjoy their meals in the inviting beer garden while being serenaded by diverse musical acts that enhance the lively ambiance. During my visit for a late lunch, I was greeted by friendly service and an energetic crowd.
We have been here for dinner and to see Brian Smalley. Today we decided to go for breakfast. We went about 10 am on a Sunday. First, there were very few people. That usually makes me nervous. Now, I am wondering why because the food was really great! They have THE BEST hash brown casserole we have ever had and the pancakes are huge! Give them a try. You will not be dissatisfied.

This is a great little eatery. The outdoor seating was quaint. The salmon salad was really excellent. My friend had the Chicken Bacon Brie with waffle fries and it was excellent. I tried the Blueberry Beer, which was like a sour, and my friend had an Apple Cider that she loved for its sweetness and I would have not liked. 😊

Mount Dora is a nice local Brewery with a very delicious menu offering great appetizers, full food menu and local beers. The waiter/server was very nice with good customer service. Didn't have many own-made beer selection in my opinion, they had about 6. A larger stout selection would be great.Definitely would return since the food was fresh and very tasty.

I was excited to try this place due to the raving reviews, but now I think it’s a joke. I was SO DISAPPOINTED. The beer is mediocre at best. Not worth the money. The waitress WAS the cook! I hear a lot of slamming and microwave use. I ordered a chicken wrap, it had one chicken tender and the rest was lettuce. I paid $10 for lettuce. Mozzarella sticks, were not edible. They were disgusting! This place is horrible and won’t be back! I’m upset I wasted a meal on this place.

First visit today for late lunch. It’s a seat yourself bar and restaurant with table service. We ordered bacon cheeseburgers with fries and Soft pretzels with beer cheese as appetizer. The beer cheese was very tasty, with a soft hint of mustard and decently thick. This is worth coming in for by itself. The burgers were a good size and pretty tasty. The fries were served one of three ways and we chose beer battered. They were fairly thick, crisp and fresh. Service is friendly and quick. This is a nice casual place to stop in to dine and or drink. We will be back.
M B — Google review
When I got there the place was packed! Not a seat left in the front room where band was. I snaked my way through the tables to ask someone behind the bar about additional seating. It was around the corner and completely deserted. Although there was a large screen in the back to keep watching the band, I’m more of a social person so I went back around and at that moment a gentleman at the bar said he was about to leave and I could have his spot so that was great. The only reason I’m giving this 4 instead of 5 stars is usually when I go to a brewery I like to try a variety of their beers in a flight but it was so busy I just ordered a single beer so I was disappointed I didn’t get to fully experience their selection. With it being so busy it was pretty cramped. But other than that, there were lots of people dancing to a phenomenal group of musicians (The Boulevard-check them out on Facebook!) and the energy was fabulous! I had a great time dancing and meeting new people, talking with the band and eventually the owner and brewmaster of the joint. All great, talented people that were fun to be around. I will be back!!
Elise A — Google review
While the staff was nice and friendly, the beer was really not good. The blonde ale is oddly tart and the others aren’t any better. They only have three beers of their own, the other three are mixes of those. Not impressed, so we didn’t order food.

Nestled within Florida's Historic Lakeside Inn, The Beauclaire offers a delightful dining experience that perfectly blends casual elegance with stunning lake views. This charming restaurant is steeped in history, dating back to the 1800s, yet it boasts modern comforts that make every visit special. Guests rave about the brunch options, particularly the bottomless mimosas and delectable Monte Cristo sandwich served with a unique raspberry sauce.
I had lunch at this restaurant with friends, and I absolutely loved it! This place is wonderful. The food was delicious, and the portions were very generous. My lemon pepper salmon was cooked just right—not dry at all, but perfectly moist and tasty. For dessert, we had peach cobbler with a huge scoop of ice cream—honestly, it was so good they could sell it separately! The atmosphere was fantastic. They played classic music on speakers, and the view of the lake from the veranda was beautiful. We chose to sit outside, but the inside looked cozy and well-designed too. The staff was super friendly and attentive, always checking to make sure we were comfortable. They really care about you.

The decor, music, and overall vibe of this place are so fun—definitely a great spot for a night out. Even on a busy Friday evening, I was able to snag a cozy round table in the back for my friend and me, which was a pleasant surprise. Bonus points for the upstairs bathrooms not requiring a code (unlike the ones downstairs)—a small but appreciated detail! I ordered an espresso martini that was dairy-free (which I love), but it ended up being a bit too sweet and slightly watery for my taste. I only took a few sips before deciding not to finish it—not bad, just not quite for me. Since I was the DD, I didn’t bother swapping it out, but it was still the right call. My friend’s gin cocktail, on the other hand, was light, mild, and super refreshing—she loved it! Also, shoutout to the bartender for bringing the drinks over to our table—such a nice touch. I’d absolutely come back and give another cocktail a try. The atmosphere alone makes it worth a return visit!

After a long day of bar hopping we made our way to mount dora. We asked a hostesses for some good places to get drinks; she mentioned handlebar and another place we went first… while we were there I overheard the bartender and other patrons taking about handlebar so I jumped in… they all gave an exuberant Referal. So we went there next; it was super cute but very packed so we almost left but squished in n; and thank god we did because we loved it! The drinks were delicious and the bartenders were uber fun and cool. My fav was Check he’s a ginger . If you’re looking for the best craft cocktails in Central Florida, Handlebar in Mount Dora is it. The vibe is unmatched! It’s laid-back yet elevated, with the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to stay all night. Every drink I’ve tried has been thoughtfully crafted, balanced, and full of unique flavors that you just don’t find at your average bar. The staff takes it to another level. Chek, Caleb, Jesse, and Dakota are some of the most talented bartenders I’ve ever met! They’re not only skilled mixologists but also welcoming and genuinely passionate about what they do. Whether you’re in the mood for a classic or want to try something adventurous and new, they’ll take great care of you :)

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. This place is a hidden gem for craft cocktail lovers. I tried the Piranha—a mix of cachaça, lychee, lime, cherry blossoms, and dragon fruit powder—and I’m still thinking about it. It's perfectly balanced, refreshing yet bold, floral but not overpowering. Honestly, one of the best cocktails I’ve ever had. You can tell the bartenders here are true artists. The Bavarian Haus is a cozy German-inspired restaurant located in Mount Dora, offering a relaxed atmosphere and outdoor patio seating. The menu features traditional German food such as Schnitzel with various toppings, complemented by a selection of German beer or wine. Guests can also enjoy lunch specials and delicious pastries paired with German coffee. The friendly service and reasonable prices make it an ideal spot for dining with family or friends.
As someone raised on German food, it was fantastic. Had the jagerschnitzel, red cabbage and Knurdles. Sauce was incredibly rich and flavorful. Red Kraut had the proper amount of cloves and vinegar, if you know, you know. A little dark, but had it been a tad warmer I would have sat on their outside seating. Absolutely recommended and was surprised they weren’t busier.

As a German American, I am always excited to find a good German restaurant in Florida…well this is not one! Terrible service by a rude server and manager. We were there for 2 hours and we only ordered sandwiches. The place was not full. My veal schnitzel was overcooked and dry. No sides or toppings with the food. At least my imported Munich beer was cold and tasty.
Steve S — Google review
Food is great. Better than hollerbach over at Sanford. Everything was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. Some issues I had was the space was small, food to a long time to come out, and there's a share plate charge. What that means is that if you have people who are not really eating but just snacking off of your plate then they will charge you 10 per person for them to be there. I'm told it's on the menu but I think it would be great if the server mentioned it was well. Would've just bought food for them as good as the food was.

My family and I were so excited to go here, the service was awesome! the manager/hostess was very charismatic and amazing at informing us about the German cuisine. It was a nice touch to have the great chef personally brining us our food from time to time. Great ambiance to go with family or friends, and prices are very reasonable for the great quality of food you’re getting. Don’t forget to try the cheese strudel, we ended up getting both the apple and cheese they were fantastic! Will be going back

The food & service was good but somehow if you just want water you pay $3 bottled while others at the table who ordered a beverage got a glass of water at no charge BUT the reason I'll never go back is we can't eat large meals in the evening & chose to split (my husband even added a bowl of soup) at that point she should have mentioned a "split" fee ( I would have ordered something to go) because we were shocked to have another $10 added to our bill for a plate!! sorry left a bad taste in our mouth - too 👎 bad

I had a great experience. Welcoming place, excellent service, cold beer. The potato salad and the Veil delicious. The sausages great. I don’t remember the name but it has lamb. I totally recommend, different ambiance, great food and excellent service. I’ll be back and try more.

This place was really cute inside. The food was great and service was friendly. We got there early around 5pm on a Saturday to make sure we could get seated relatively quick. Due to limited seating for social distancing, we got there at a great time. We ordered the potato pan cakes, the Schweinbraten, Sauerbraten, and chicken schnitzel. All were very well cooked and delicious. Then we were torn with the 3 desserts they had so we ordered 1 of each: Black Forest cake-one of the best I've ever had, Apple Strudel and Cheese Strudel. Both just melted in your mouth, the dough was delicate and none were overly sweet. We will definitely be visiting again soon!

Solid 4 star experience. We liked everything but weren't blown away. The happy hour is definitely the highlight of this place. 4-6:30 with $8 cocktail menu, $7 well drinks, and a limited appetizer menu. We had the watermelon pickled shrimp with vegetables on toast. It was very good. For entrees we had parpadelle Bolognese made with beef, duck, and pork, and the pork ribeye on a bed of some type of beans with peppers. Both entrees were tasty and hit the spot but were they worth $40 each, eh probably not. This restaurant does constantly change the menu so others' experiences might be a little better and some might be worse. But overall I'd say this is a great place, and probably the best happy hour in mt Dora.

Renninger's Flea Market & Antique Center in Mount Dora is a renowned hotspot for antique treasures and unique finds. Spanning 117 acres, this vast weekend flea market offers both indoor and outdoor spaces filled with antiques, musical instruments, produce stands, clothing shops, and collectibles. The surrounding region boasts scenic landscapes with towering oaks covered in Spanish moss.
This place has everything! There are so many booths, it would take days to look at them all. We spent a Sunday afternoon here and we enjoyed looking through all the antiques, plants, and toys for the kids. We also enjoyed some corn from the roasted corn vendor. Delicious!

One of the largest and most diverse flea markets I've experienced, largely because it's like 3 markets in 1. The outdoor table area has your $1 toys and vacuum cleaners, but then down the hill are rows of small buildings with vendors selling flowers and bird houses and leather belts. Then the large, unassuming building at the bottom of the hill houses some high-end antiques with jewelry and furniture out of my price range! My wife deals in vintage jewelry, and she was overwhelmed. You would need 2 solid days just to see everything here. It was amazing.

Love this place!! If you have not been here it's a must! The best place to shop and eat. And if you have not tried the small Italian food truck there you are definitely missing out. When I find great food I love to share. The Sausage and peppers, Chicken parm and cheese steak sandwiches are absofknlutley delicious!! The fresh homemade sauce oh my!

Went here for 2024 antique extravaganza, our first time. Took about 10 mins total to drive through entrance and park. Took about 10 mins or so to get through gate 4 to get a wristband - $6 each. But man, walking around on a gorgeous Saturday morning was pretty epic. A lot of cigarette smokers but all good. Tons of vendors, tons of awesome stuff to see. Port a potties set up in various spots plus a few restroom buildings. The food area was incredible. Definitely an awesome event !

Over 800 vendors selling antiques, collectibles, vintage, and more. The show is outdoors, under open air buildings, tents and includes the Indoor Antiques Center and the Street of Shops at the Antiques Center. Renninger’s Flea Market is Flea Market which runs Saturdays and Sundays 8 – 4! Located on 117 acres of scenic, rolling land in beautiful Lake County, the heart of Central Florida; amid spreading oaks, garlands of Spanish moss waving gently from their branches, you will find Renninger’s Twin Markets in Mt. Dora. Two large buildings and a number of open-air shopping areas house a wide variety of dealers from produce stands, clothing shops, and oddity vendors, to high-quality antiques and collectibles. Renninger’s Twin Markets are also home to a large number of special events including antique fairs and extravaganzas, Cars and Guitars shows and swap meets, vintage garden shows, and much, much more. One of my favourite weekend places to frequent with family and friends plus my pet chi too!

I love flea markets and antique stores so much!! This place was crazy though. Very Very expensive and packed. Some of the stuff is really bad and over priced. It has too many people in there. Not all of the vendors take cards only cash -just FYI. We left early and went home. Not fun. 😞
Laura J — Google review
Easy parking, lots of friendly people and endless vendors: from fruit and veggies to health insurance! We enjoyed the food choices as well.as the variety of beverages. We were impressed with the BBQ turkey legs and the choices at the Wine Shack. We purchased several healthy plants from the many vendors. The bathrooms were plentiful.and clean throughout the venue. We will return!

Cafe Gianni is a charming Italian restaurant located in the heart of Mount Dora's downtown historic district. The warm and inviting multilevel space offers outdoor seating, making it perfect for a romantic dinner. The menu features classic Italian dishes such as seafood and pasta, accompanied by a nice selection of wine and beer. Customers praise the chef's expertise, often opting to let him surprise them with his recommendations.
Excellent little restaurant. Charming atmosphere and can see straight into the kitchen. Function room upstairs for larger crowds. Staff is wonderful, wish I could find this level of customer service everywhere I went to. Food was excellent, you could taste the care in the execution. Ossobuco was spoon tender. 10 out of 10, will come again.

When I studied architecture at Clemson University villa in Genova Italy in 1992, I was also that semesters Villa Voice Editor...one primary job was to be sure and publish the recipe for Pesto. I am a huge fan of Pesto done right. First you must drown the pasta in the sauce. It should be green. No noddle should show it's whites. This was one of the best I have had since graduating way back when. This is a don't miss place at least for its Ligurian presentation of linguini Pesto Cremoso. And the sausage was just right. So good that I even used the bread to finish off ALL of the sauce!!! The Puttonesca Rigatoni was also excellent. This is a must do for Mt Dora.

This is easily on of the best restaurants in all of downtown and the best Italian food in the area. The food is authentic and absolutely delicious. The service is excellent. It is absolutely worth the trip. They are open Monday too, it’s a great way to avoid all the crowds and not battle parking. Gianni has a great restaurant we are lucky to have him here!

A modest little restaurant, with the best Italian I have had in a long time. The Puttanesca was spot on-rich, spicy, piquant, an explosion of taste, the Chicken Pesto was a buttery, nutty, garlicy, Pesto festival, and every extra, perfect. The espresso was perfect, no bitterness, the tiramisu, a family recipe, was a perfect ending to a lovely afternoon. Joseph our server was very attentive but not overbearing, and the chef, Chase, allowed the addition of sausage to the Puttanesca, creating an outstanding, rich dish. A must EAT.

The food and service were amazing! The mushroom crustini was so yummy for the appetizer. We also got the tomato basil soup and linguine with clams. OMG!!! YUM! They had a nice wine selection. The tiramisu dessert was delicious and different. Not soaked the way I've had it before, so hard lady fingers, but still great! In door and outside seating. Highly recommend and will be back!

Best Java in town! I love the selection of drinks and treats! The new location is so nostalgic and charming! I can’t wait to come back for gelato!

Thank God their ice cream is good. They could really benefit from sprucing up the lobby and counter, as it looks like they do the bare minimum to keep the place going. They are literally using scotch tape to hold together their cracked display cases. That being said, the ice cream is always good.

I stopped in here for a coffee and was impressed by the decor and fast service. My flavored raspberry hot coffee was excellent. There is a huge variety of drinks and of course ice cream. Some cute covered outdoor seating as well, which is much appreciated on a hot summer day. Would definitely return!

Nice little coffee shop in downtown Mt. Dora. I had a gingerbread latte and my wife had a snickerdoodle latte. Both were tasty. Not so good that I had to rave about them but they were good enough to enjoy while we walked around and took in all the Christmas lights around town. The store itself is a bit cramped so eating in would be a little uncomfortable but it’s really not that type of place anyhow. They serve sandwiches for lunch and they have a decent ice cream assortment. They even have a few gelato flavors for those with a more refined taste. Overall, I appreciate small businesses like this one. We will be back certainly.

Sol de Mexico is a Mexican cantina that has been operating since 2009. This family-run establishment is adorned with South American furnishings and artworks, creating an authentic atmosphere. Situated in Downtown Eustis, Sol de Mexico can be considered a hidden gem due to its location tucked away near an alley. As you enter the cantina, you will be captivated by the impressive decor.
Stopped for lunch to get a Chicken Tostada. It was delicious and served in a few minutes. Always enjoy going there.

Great service and love the dinning atmosphere. Unfortunately the fish tacos had more red cabbage tacos with a little unseasoned fish pieces in it. not much flavor or seasoning on fish and the enchiladas also lacked flavor and seasoning. On the menu it didn't say mole sauce would be used, it said either red sauce or green sauce . and I am not a fan of mole sauce so I was not thrilled that it was the only flavor I could taste when eating it. The salsa was watery (see video ) and chips seemed stale. I came here 4 years ago and the food was great but like many other restaurants, food quality has gone down. You do get large serving portions and the rice and refried beans were delicious. My daughter got the taco salad with chicken and said it was good too.

We really enjoyed our lunch at Sol De Mexico today, sitting outside to watch the world go by. My guava daiquiri was awesome and the gals like their margaritas. They split a Chile Relleno Burrito whilst I had a delicious Quesadilla Veracruz, and plenty left for later. Very tasty - we will be back for sure!

Amazing food and I have never seen a Mexican restaurant decorated so beautifully. Incredible pottery and carved art...even the tables and chairs and moldings...everything is decorated. It truly makes you feel you are in another world while you are there. There was actually a pottery frog I almost tried to buy. And our waiter, a young man, was so courteous and mannerly, very graceful guy. The whole experience was fantastic. My first time in, and I'll be back. I just moved here and a lot of people have said it is their go to Mexican place. Mine too, now!.. 🥰🤠

This was my first time visiting. Went in through the “back” entrance. Place stunk like wet mold. The steak they served was way undercooked but didn’t taste like steak. Had a very strange flavor. Whale's Tale Fish House is a family-owned and operated eatery that specializes in delicious fried whole-belly clams and Maryland crab cakes. Located in a small strip center, this spot is known for its clean atmosphere and friendly service. With a menu that offers a variety of options, such as excellent fried clam strips, catfish, broiled and blackened scallops, and mouthwatering cheese grits.
We discovered the whale tail fish house in Mount Dora while watching a YouTuber going to different restaurants, and this was one of them. So we decided to give it a try it, not a very big place inside, but quaint. We were greeted by our waitress. She was very friendly and polite we. Ordered. Broiled Haddock, fried clams, and oysters. Along with a couple of appetizers, One order of Hush Puppies 1 order of their awesome onion rings We will return you can bet on that. Definitely give this location a try.we returned 6-22 for another great meal , we ordered the full belly clams, and the clam strips again. They were both very good. We had the same waitress. I don't know if she's the only one that works there, but she does an excellent job. Thank you. If you're wondering, we drive a little bit over an hour to get to this location but it's definitely worth it .
Don L — Google review
This is a little diner in a shopping plaza which seemed odd for a seafood place, but hey it works! There were 3 of us. One ordered the haddock fish sandwich basket with grits & cheese & an upcharge of sweet potato fries. It came with 2 hushpuppies & coleslaw. The sandwich bread was really too thick, but all was good, no complaints. Another ordered the catfish basket with fries and it came with hushpuppies & coleslaw, he ordered fries and baked beans for sides. He didn't personally care for the beans, but nothing was really wrong with them, just personal preference. I ordered the trio platter with fish, oysters & shrimp. They came with several onion rings, perfectly cooked, hush puppies & coleslaw. I ordered grits & cheese & apple juice steamed carrots. I am a carrot lover, never met a carrot I didn't like, until today. They would be a pass for me in the future. The shrimp was just a minute(ish) overcooked giving it a tougher chew but had good flavor. The fish & oysters were totally on point, delicious & cooked perfectly. The oysters were decent size & plump. I enjoyed them. Both of us who had grits & cheese really liked them, they were perfect. We had no coleslaw eaters in the group, thus we have no rating on that. I was the only one who eats hushpuppies, they were really good. I didn't care for the sweet tea, at all, compared to most southern style sweet tea, it just wasn't good. So, overall we liked everything but it wasn't anything to make us run back for more. Still, if we were in the area, I would go back. It felt a bit pricey for lunch & the atmosphere, but they have rent and other bills to pay, too. Overall it was a solid meal, not perfect, but good. Important to note, we came in pretty late for a lunch and way too early for dinner. We were seated and tended to immediately. No one else was dining at the time. Drinks were brought very fast. She offered to take orders right away, yet gave us time to review the menu instead, and she answered several questions for us. The server was excellent, accommodating and had a good sense of humor. She tolerated my husband's sarcastic the spirit intended and she was funny, too. They have plenty of great parking & weren't in the messy mix of the walking parts of Mt Dora. Check them out if you are in the area.

Staff was great. I ordered the trio platter and cup of crab soup. It was all okay ...nothing I would return for. Soup- nothing special ..just tasted like canned soup. Fried seafood was okay...very bland..some seasoning would help. Pasta salad side was served warm in some red sauce...never have seen that and definitely not good. Hush puppies - these were the winner of all the items I ordered. Pricing was reasonable for what was ordered.
B P — Google review
We came here November 2024. It was a Friday afternoon to grab a quick lunch before heading to Eustis Christmas lighting. We all got the duo. 13.99. I got one piece of fried catfish and five pieces of shrimp. Both were delicious. I got the coleslaw which is very good sweet and tangy just how I like it. The meal also comes with two hush puppies and two onion rings which I thought was a great touch. We got the grits and the beans both were good but they are served in little plastic cups. We also got the creamy conch chowder and it was delicious $5.99 for the bowl. My husband got the clam strips and boiled catfish. So I would say this was very good for a quick meal. You get a very good portion for the price you pay. The atmosphere and the restaurant is very dated and could definitely use a refresh. Starting with the bathrooms. Deer manager please remove the fake greenery in the women's bathroom.👍😝. But the food is fabulous.

Food is So delicious. My crab cakes were amazing! Service is wonderful. May I suggest: PLEASE get rid of the extremely hard un-comfortable chairs & not serve cold drinks in paper cups...THANK YOU.
Karen M — Google review
Family-owned & -operated venue specializing in fried whole-belly clams & Maryland crab cakes. I had, what I believe to be, scallop medallions within their seafood duo meal. Scallop medallions are made by binding small sea scallops together with natural protein binder and molding them into an organic shape. These were mushy inside of their heavy breading with very little scallop taste. We also had their whole belly clams, a dish popular in the New England region of America, are ordered two main ways; either as clam strips or whole belly clams. Both are fried, and the strips are simply the clam with the belly removed. A whole belly clams refers to an entire clam that has been breaded and fried. We were disappointed in these as well. Perhaps their mixed reviews are in part to various personnel in the kitchen.
Bruce S — Google review
I love the food but I'll never eat in at this place again. My order came to $16.56 and I was charged $19.87. I left a tip but not to equal that amount primarily because the waitress 1) didn't hear me calling her even though I was 3 feet from her and 2) because she took my plate before I was done. What a shame.

Small place in strip center - clean, server was attentive and friendly. We ordered a variety- fried clam strips(excellent),fried cat fish, broiled and blackened scallops, whole clam bellys(all good),cheese grits(very good),great onion rings and hush puppies. Only fair on lemon-broiled shrimp(not much taste). We’ll go back to try crab cakes - better call ahead to make sure they have them. Good experience.

I give 5 stars to our server, He was awesome. The main negative for us is that the place just seemed a little dirty from not caring or maintaining standards. We really didn't want to order food expecting the kitchen wasn't any better but we did and the food wasn't bad at all for a bar. It was ok. This place could be one we would frequent for decent bar food, reasonable drink prices and great location but they need to take it up a notch on maintaining standards that are above an average dive bar.

I heard about this place through a co worker so I decided to check it out. I came in had to wait a few minutes to be seated so I went to the restroom. Finally someone came to greet me. The same person I seen in the back of the place on her phone when I pulled up. She took my drink order and seated another couple. My drink was brought out along with theirs. She came back about 5 minutes to take my order. She took the other couple order after mines which they took for ever to order. They got busy really fast people were waiting to get drinks for a while. My burger and wings came out together. The presentation was great. My Garlic Parmesan wings were good my burger wasn't really cooked to the temperature as asked. Overall it was good. The prices are ok. They did have a special $.65 boneless wings. I had to wait for awhile to get my check cashed out but she was nice through all of it

I so wanted to live this place. It is a cute little place before town. Menu look great but execution was lacking. Wife got the chicken sandwich. It was dry 😪. I got the lakehouse burger. It was greasy. The fries were fresh cut but they did not prefer them and they were soggy and limp. The onion rings had a good batter, but the fryer temp was too low as they were greasy and the onions not cooked through.

Mt Dora is full of great places to eat. The Lake House Bar and Grill has the best hamburgers hands down. Their blue cheese burger was amazing and cooked the way I requested. I don’t see where all the negative comments are coming from about the staff. They’re always nice and very accommodating the past couple times I’ve been there. The breakfast omelettes are definitely worth the little 15 minute or so wait. The owner and (at the time) was head cook that day even came out to shake my hand and ask if everything was okay. It was great! I recommend The Lake House formerly known as Sidelines to anyone who enjoys a good brunch and mimosas! 😊 PS. The Bar Rescue episode was all staged.

Maggie’s Attic is a wonderful little wine bar in historic downtown Mount Dora. They have a great selection of wines at good prices, and it’s a welcoming spot whether you’re a local or just visiting. The real highlight for us has been the Wine Walks. Held on the first and third Saturday evenings of each month, these tastings feature more than 20 wines from around the world, spread across different venues downtown. It’s fun to stroll through the charming streets with glass in hand, tasting and chatting along the way. The locals and regulars who attend are always friendly, and we’ve had some great conversations and made new friends at these events. Joining their wine club is also a fantastic value, the membership is inexpensive and includes entry for two people to the Wine Walks at no additional cost. The evenings don’t end with the tastings either, after the walk, there’s live music in the courtyard. We especially enjoy when Sal & Izy play. Inside, there’s also a quiet upstairs with vinyl records and a record player. It’s a cozy little nook, perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine. All in all, Maggie’s Attic offers not only a strong wine program but also a real sense of community. Whether you’re here for a casual glass, looking to buy bottles at a good price, or want to experience the fun of a Wine Walk, this is a must-visit in Mount Dora.

A small casual sandwich shop tucked away at the edge of the downtown area with plenty of seating in and out. Food ordered: Truffle Fries, “Bacon Smash” burger, “Mushroom Swiss Smash” burger, “Gnome Delight Ham Sandwich” and a couple of Boylan sodas. There was very little mushrooms and onions on the mushroom Swiss smash, but other than that everything was delicious and came to the table quickly. The sodas were made with real cane sugar. The fries looked fresh cut and the portions will definitely fill you up. The staff was friendly and they checked up on us often even though it’s not that type of eating establishment. I had a wonderful experience at The Salted Fry in Mount Dora! The food was absolutely delicious with so many options to choose from—something for everyone. The service was top notch, attentive and friendly, which made the meal even more enjoyable. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, the kind of place you instantly feel comfortable in. Overall, it was an outstanding dining experience and I can’t wait to go back! Go Birds!

Definitely worth checking out, even if it’s a little out of the way! The downtown area’s fun to walk around with plenty to see and do. The fries taste homemade and are super good, and there are tons of sauces to try — all really solid. The burgers are great quality too, but the poutine stole the show for me. I haven’t had poutine that good since my trip to Canada!

Great gluten free restaurant in Downtown Mount Dora! Clean, friendly and tasty food. Service was also great. I’m always reluctant to try new food, but Kamryn helped me with my choice and was wonderful. Definitely recommend!

If you need to be GF and are craving a burger, this is the place to go. Oftentimes GF buns / bread are hard and dry - they did a great job and was a nice compromise for me (non GF) and my wife. Definitely fitting to downtown Mount Dora. I'm really glad to see additional nice options for the GF community.

Amazing food and service! Fully gluten free menu, which is a rare find. Really enjoyed the Reuben sandwich, bacon smash burger and Reese’s peanut butter pie. The staff was incredibly nice and attentive!

I’ve been coming to Mount Dora’s craft fair for over 30 years now and just love that I can eat at a dedicated gf restaurant as for health reasons I have to eat gluten free. We received delicious food both right before the weekend of the fair and during the fair (we ate there twice during our stay). I at first thought the person who was waiting on us was the owner as she was very attentive to all the patrons, offering to get us all anything else, offering desserts etc…. all with great care! I went up to the counter to take advantage of the gluten-free bread pudding offer, and asked if she was the owner and she said no…. much to my surprise. I learned her name was Christine and continue to express how grateful I was for the food and her service. Well, I know it takes more than one person to run a restaurant but her light was shining especially bright!!! She was definitely an asset to the running of the restaurant on the normal day as well as during the craft fair weekend with the line out the door. Thank you again Christine for the attentive care you gave all of us, and thank you Salted Fry for creating a work environment where someone like she would want to work. Looking forward to next year already!!

Allyson A Bake Shop is a charming bakery located in Mount Dora, Florida. It offers a variety of freshly made baked goods, including muffins, cupcakes, cookies, bars, and scones. The shop also serves strong coffee and espresso drinks to complement the treats. Customers can enjoy a nice contemporary atmosphere with limited seating both inside and outside. The Pecan bar is highly recommended for its flaky crust and generous pecan filling at reasonable prices.
Such a lovely bakery! The pastries are not only beautiful but incredibly delicious. I highly recommend the one filled with cream it’s perfectly sweet, and not stick at all. Just melts in your mouth. I even took a pecan bars home, and I really loved it! The pecan were super crunchy. The place is cozy and welcoming, with a peaceful atmosphere and friendly service. A perfect spot for a sweet break or a quiet coffee moment!

Love the atmosphere and fresh quality options. Service has a long way to go. Ordered my large coffee and pastry. $11.85. Got to my table and remembered I had a text offering a free pastry with a $10 purchase. I returned to the counter and showed the young man. He shrugged and said I would have to purchase another $10+ to get the offer. Seriously???? Within 5 minutes of my original purchase???? I love to support local business, but Starbucks or Foxtail has better customer service.

The best cheesecake and cookies I have found since leaving Atlanta! I am not sure what kind of magical deliciousness they put in their cheesecake but, their Oreo cheesecake is 10/10. I will be back! (Side note- it is bigger than pictured, I may have eaten some on the way home.)

Small counter service cafe with a nice selection of baked goods including muffins, cupcakes, cookies and assorted bars and scones. They also have a couple quiches by the slice. I had the Pecan bar. Very good flaky crust, caramel and loaded with pecan halves. Very reasonable prices. They serve drip coffee, espresso drinks, and other beverages as well. There is limited seating (inside and out), but nice contemporary atmosphere. Very friendly and courteous service staff. Met expectations given the 4.9 rating. Highly reccomend.

During my visit to mount Dora, this bake shop was a daily stop for me. The coffee was delicious and really balanced..not overly sweet. Their savory scones were delicious! I also tried their gingerbread scone (amazing!) and a few cookies (toffee pecan chocolate chip was my favorite!) Definitely try out this place if you have a chance!

Peach Valley Café is a charming local chain in Mount Dora, offering fresh breakfast items and warm orchard-fresh apple fritters. The atmosphere is vibrant with options for outdoor seating and well-regulated indoor air conditioning. The staff is courteous and efficient, providing quick service with minimal wait times. Customers praise the cheerful and upbeat ambiance, along with the friendly and fun service from staff members like Jessica.
Peach Valley Café is a great place for breakfast, with plenty of patio seating and a wide variety of options to choose from. The food is excellent, and the service is consistently friendly and attentive, making it a very enjoyable stop. We especially appreciated the spacious outdoor area, perfect for a relaxed morning meal. One small note: it seems they add mustard to the eggs Benedict, even though it’s not listed in the menu description, so keep that in mind if you’re not a fan. Overall, still a wonderful breakfast spot worth visiting.

Food was good ,nothing very special, the avocado toast was a joke for the price. They serve more eggs than avocado toast 🥑 It was our first time there and probably I won’t come back for our next visit to Mount Dora. The place is nice, the concept and service were fine. I have to say, our waitress was very kind bringing to my car something that we forgot on the table. That was very sweet !!

Great breakfast spot! The single pancake is huge and absolutely delicious. The biscuit was light and fluffy — a perfect complement to the meal. I also had a build-your-own omelette and a half-order of French toast, all of which were excellent. The servers were attentive, the waitstaff was pleasant, and there’s plenty of outdoor seating with misty fans and parking. Highly recommend!

Our waitress, Maddie was very friendly. She came to the table many times to check on us. Ordered the pot pie. It had a nice crust but was kinda bland inside. Made with frozen veggies, it just tasted like a frozen pot pie. The restaurant was clean with cute decor and they also had outdoor seating. But the desert selection was very limited on the cake display. The drinks run about$4 for an ice tea or coke. I don't think I'll come back.

First time here and it was fantastic! Seated quickly and our server was so pleasant and attentive. We ordered the Western Omelet and Peach Valley Skillet. Both were very good with nice size food portions. The restaurant was very clean, food was great and easy to have a conversation without a lot of noise. All of the employees seemed to have positive attitudes and great customer service . When I saw the police officers eating here I knew we must of stumbled across a good place to eat! lol Their menu can accommodate pretty much any type of diet if someone is searching for-vegan, protein or the meat and potatoes;all at reasonable prices. This restaurant has definitely moved to the top of the breakfast list for me! Truly a nice place to take a friend or family that has come to visit. We went to the location in Mount Dora.

This place is special! My wheelchair was able to maneuver through the restaurant. No problem in the bathroom, except for the latch on the door of the handicap stall which was very stiff and hard to manage. The food was delicious and very flavorful. The atmosphere was friendly and helpful. Music was playing but not so loud that you couldn't talk to people across from you. Shannon, our server was a real peach! The lighting was pleasant. You do smell food cooking. A lot of southern and peach decor. The bathroom was roomy and a server held the door. Family friendly. Popular with locals. I completely enjoyed my meal.

What a great first time at Peach Valley in Mount Dora. A fantastic breakfast/lunch spot, with several locations, an extensive menu, and a relaxed atmosphere. They delivered our food quick and it was delicious. They have a large outside patio equipped with heaters for the cooler weather and fans to circulate the air. Peach Valley IS PET FRIENDLY! There is no specific pet menu, but there is a children’s menu. It will be a spot we frequent often for breakfast with our dog.

Eden Abbey Brewing Community is a newly opened brew pub located in the former Mount Dora Brewing Co. It has a monastery-themed, community-focused atmosphere and offers both dining and entertainment. The venue features a spacious area with a stage for live performances by singers and full bands. The restaurant serves a variety of dishes, including steak kabobs, loaded BBQ pork fries, chicken empanadas, and Wagyu burgers.
We just happened to come across this local gem when we were visiting Mt. Dora last weekend! It also happened to be their first ever Oktoberfest, so we were able to enjoy extra fun activities that day! My two teenage daughters, husband, and myself had the best time!! We spent about 3-4 hours enjoying a great atmosphere, outstanding service, delicious food, and very fun entertainment!! There are 3 very different seating areas...a darling cafe section that looks like a cozy diner with board games to play at your table, a bar/pub section that features live music at select times, as well as a porch and outdoor seating area. They also have a fun play area on the porch for your little ones! I highly recommend visiting Eden Abbey. You won't be disappointed!

We had an excellent meal here. I got the special, which was a pasta with blackened chicken and sausage in a thick cream sauce. We got a wagyu burger. Finished it off with a apple crisp. Atmosphere was awesome other then a drunk dude with an obnoxious dog. But the meal was good and the Atmosphere was excellent 👌🏽

We stopped into Eden Abbey Brewing on a Sunday evening after the Mount Dora Craft Show. We sat inside the taproom, but there’s also a beautiful outdoor area that’s perfect for relaxing with a pint. I sampled a few beers, and my favorite was Das Brot, German-style Dunkle brown lager with a toasty, malty flavor that finishes clean, dry, and crisp. We ordered the kettle chips to start, which came out piping hot, perfectly crunchy, and sprinkled with a flavorful proprietary seasoning blend. They paired perfectly with the beer. For dinner, we split a Hog Heaven Burger with tater tots and a Fiery Clucka sandwich. The tater tots were some of the best we’ve ever had: crisp, golden, and not greasy. The Hog Heaven was huge: juicy beef topped with a mound of kalua-style pulled pork, bacon, cheese, and sweet smoky BBQ sauce, all balanced with lettuce, tomato, and onion. The Fiery Clucka was another winner, tender buttermilk fried chicken layered with crispy bacon, chipotle beer cheese, and firebreather aioli on a toasted brioche bun. Not overly spicy, just packed with flavor. As the evening went on, Kristin Tucker & The Abbey Band started playing. The music was great with strong vocals and a good vibe. The Christian song choices weren’t quite our thing, but the performance overall was solid and the crowd was clearly enjoying it. We eventually left when we had enough of it, to each his own I guess. Between the excellent beer, delicious food, and live entertainment, this place checks all the boxes. Plenty of parking. Highly recommend.

Really cute building inside and out. You seat yourself, nice little loung area with couches and cute outdoor area. There was a live band in the main bar area, lounge is separate so if live music is not your thing you can still have peace. I got the steak skewers paired with sticky rice and yummy fruit salad. Comes with a chimichurri, really fresh. Staff was very nice, informative about the area and menu. We ordered everything suggested, our first time visiting. Above and beyond experience.

On a visit to Mt Dora, we had dinner at this amazing brewery. All three of us in the party were very impressed. It was a very busy night with live music and right before the craft fair weekend. Regardless, the service was personal, prompt and outstanding. It was a group effort with multiple servers helping us, making recommendations and checking on us throughout our visit. The helpful, attentive service surpassed many high end restaurants I have been to over the years. The beer selections were excellent. There were a couple of Fall oriented specials that were great, but my favorite was the Eden Dreams which is on their regular menu. They are also very good at keeping the online menu updated, so you can peruse and plan your choices ahead of time. For many breweries the food is a side note, but at Eden Abbey you can very happily have a great dinner or lunch. We tried the chicken and shrimp empanadas and members of our party had the shrimp and chicken skewers, the Johnny Pacific salad (our waitress suggested we sub that for the skewers salad choice and it was delicious) and the burger. Our server also recommended sauces that would complement the skewers and were spot on. Each item was flavorful and well prepared and presented. The atmosphere is also very inviting with a plant lined, brick wall tap room with several communal high tops and a side room with fireplace and individual booths and tables. If I lived closer, this would be my go to spot. If you are visiting Mt Dora, I definitely encourage you to give the place a try.

WOW, talk about a great find on a quick day trip to Mount Dora!!! This gem of an eatery was superb and our party of 6 adults all agreed that the food was off the charts outstanding. The owner, Eve, personally served us with an assist from Joey at the bar. Everything from the pretzel bites to the sandwiches were on point, delicious and perhaps the best we ever had. Yes, it’s that’s good. Don’t waste your time going anywhere else as Eden Abbey should without question be your first choice! Also, love the Christian vibe - Pax et Bonum! Thank you, Eve!

Back Porch Pizza Bar is such a hidden gem! I absolutely loved their wings—perfectly seasoned and cooked just right. The pizza was incredibly delicious, with a dough that struck the perfect balance: crispy on the outside and soft and chewy inside. Back Porch Pizza Bar is a fantastic spot with amazing pizza, great atmosphere, and excellent staff service. We tried the four-cheese with ricotta and the Italian pepperoni, both packed with flavor and that unforgettable touch of the brick oven. Prices are a little on the higher side, but the experience of enjoying pizza outdoors, surrounded by the beautiful Spanish moss, makes it absolutely worthwhile. A unique setting that turns a simple meal into something memorable.

I was so happy to see the portion size actually reflects the cost. Every dish my table ordered was a great size. Their sausage gravy on the biscuits were very flavorful. Its hard to find a good sausage gravy. Everything we ate was well flavored. The rye bread was incredible on the reuben. The veggie omelet wasn't runny, and was loaded with fully cooked veggies. Good amount of variations as well. Its a small tight fit in their. They offer high tops, bar seating, tables, & booths. It gets very noisy. They clearly know this due to the sound buffers on the ceiling. They decor is cute and bathrooms very nice. There's not much room for a wheelchair though. The service was very quick and concise. Nice staff who made us feel appreciated. So glad we stumbled across this spot!

Disappointing Again – Not Worth the Price We really wanted to give Whiskey Kitchen another chance after a bad first experience when it first opened, but sadly, nothing has improved. We went on a Saturday night and spent $121.77 (before tip) for food and drinks that were just not good. Portions were small, drinks were poorly made, and the prices are way too high for what you get. As a local, I’m sharing this to help others avoid the same disappointment. This place is simply not worth the money.

Shadrach's Fiery Furnace Pizza Co. in Mount Dora is a family-owned pizzeria known for its wood-fired Neapolitan-style pizzas. The outdoor seating offers a great atmosphere, and the pizza is described as fabulous with perfect crust. They also offer catering services with their mobile pizza oven, providing unique and fresh pizzas fired on site. While the ordering process may be a bit unconventional, the overall experience and taste of the pizzas are highly praised by visitors.
I'm incredibly impressed with the staff's professionalism, accommodating nature, and friendly demeanor leading up to our wedding. They made every interaction a breeze, always ready to assist with a smile and a positive attitude. Their genuine warmth and attention to detail truly put us at ease. Haley, their catering manager, was absolutely incredible! She made the entire process easy and enjoyable, always going above and beyond to address our needs and answer our questions. Her attention to detail and friendly demeanor transformed what could have been a stressful experience into a smooth and fun journey. With Haley at the helm, we felt confident every step of the way, knowing we were in such capable hands! Our wedding menu featured delicious bruschetta and meatballs in marinara as appetizers during cocktail hour, followed by a Caesar salad and a variety of pizzas. We offered classic cheese and pepperoni, as well as unique options like pepperoni with pineapple and goat cheese, The Soprano, BBQ chicken, and a sausage and peppers pizza. Our guests absolutely loved all the selections! It was clear that each dish was crafted with fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection! We absolutely loved our experience with Shadrachs from the very beginning! The initial contact was warm and welcoming, and the tasting solidified our decision to choose them with ease. The communication throughout the planning process was seamless, and on the day of the wedding, they truly delivered! Our unique dinner options blew our guests away, and even seven months later, they're still raving about it. Many guests have asked for Shadrachs' information to use for their future events, which speaks volumes about the incredible impression they left on everyone! I recommended Shadrachs for any event, without reservation! Truly blown away!

Shadrach's Fiery Furnace was one of the BEST decisions that my husband and I made for our wedding. The communication was stellar from start to finish. The accommodations for dietary limitations were unlike many other catering companies in the area. They never failed to suggest an idea to adapt to our budget and dietary needs. This business made us feel like we were part of a family from our first tasting to our wedding. Our guests could not stop raving about the quality of the appetizers and pizzas as well as the catering staff. They worked seamlessly with other vendors, the venue staff, and made our guests fall in love with them the way we did almost a year prior to picking our wedding date. My husband and I knew we wanted to support local businesses in the area of our wedding venue, and we couldn't have picked a better addition to our wedding day. We promised each other to be back yearly to for our anniversary! If you're on the fence, DO IT! THEY WERE AMAZING!

Shadrach's is attached to the outdoor portion of a little shared food court in downtown Mt. Dora. The immediate outdoor area has tables and chairs and fire furnace for the food, but there are also some indoor tables for the shared food stall area use. The pizza is made fresh, "individual sized" which could easily be shared between two people. It came out quickly, with self service plates and napkins, don't expect a waiter/waitress to check up on you. You order at the register, take a number and collect your table settings much like a fast food restaurant. I found it a bit pricey, and personally didn't feel that the quality/quantity of the food and/ingredients matched that price. The bottom crust was thin but not crispy, the actual crust was dry, and the sauce tasted bland. It sure looks good in photos though!

Kings Donuts and Deli of Mt Dora is a must-visit spot for those with a sweet tooth. While their freshly baked donuts take center stage, the deli also offers an array of savory treats like croissant breakfast sandwiches and loaded bagels. The Maple Bacon donuts are particularly raved about, and customers can't get enough of the addictive flavors. Visitors praise the light, pillowy texture of the donuts and commend the delightful consistency in every visit.
I drive by this place every morning and have been wanting to try Kings for awhile. Today I finally decided to give them a try! Ohhhh em geeee. These were absolutely delicious!! I bought 2 glazed dounts and a plain cake one. The glazed was soo fresh. I was surprised at how light and airy the donut itself was, yet balanced with the sweetness of the glaze. I will definitely be back.

I have to say if you want a really great fresh donut this is a place to go. The only negative things are most of the donuts had an upcharge if it had any kind of filling in it. So I ended up getting two cream-filled one Boston one glaze twist and a cinnamon roll and something that was supposed to be a cappuccino which ended up just being coffee and milk because they said they don't put espresso in there's which I have no idea what that means because a cappuccino is expresso but it all came to $20. Also the inside eating area needs a really good cleaning. There was fillings it looked like flung on the wall at different places and the baseboards were filthy. So if you don't mind paying a lot more than Dunkin and taking them to go I think you'd be okay.

Best breakfast sandwiches in the tri-city area, without a doubt. Donuts are great too. Probably my favorite apple fritter around too. The staff are really nice and let you take your time if you’re picking out a dozen

They need larger sign! I didn't notice it was a donut shop until today. Worth me hitting my brakes and pulling over as I enjoy trying donut new shops. Delicious pastry serve by super nice staff. Can't wait to go back again!

I lived down in this area a few years ago and how I did NOT know about this place is beyond me! I consider myself an expert on a great donut and after my first visit today at this place, all I can say is that these are the absolute BEST donuts you can buy in the area!!! They couldn't have possibly been any fresher!! Also, the people working there were wonderful. Very friendly and helpful! I highly recommend a visit to Kings. Why would anyone go to a chain donut shop when you have a hidden treasure like this in Tavares/Mt. Dora? I'll definitely will be back. Lord these donuts are good!!

Unfortunately I am very disappointed with Foxtail Coffee. While the service is nice and the atmosphere is cozy the food is overpriced and not really edible. We spent $50 on five breakfast sandwiches, two coffees, and two desserts. 💵 The coffee was average and the desserts were pretty good but the sandwiches looked like they were thrown into the box and the bagel was hard as a rock. I'm sorry to say that McDonald's was probably a better choice than this. The only thing I loved was the cute fox cookie. 🦊🍪 I wish I could have loved this cozy coffee place. ☕

This Foxtail location is a true gem in the heart of downtown Mount Dora. I stop by 3–4 times a week, and it’s consistently excellent, great coffee, great vibes, and even better service. Maddy, the manager, is incredibly kind and welcoming, and it’s clear she cares about creating a positive experience for every customer. I’m so thankful to have this spot in our community and look forward to the continued greatness Foxtail brings to Mount Dora!

Didn't have any coffee, but the Iced Chai tea latte was very good. Unfortunately, we went there for breakfast and the sandwiches were disgusting. The top of the bagel was so stale, it was rock hard. I'm not exaggerating when I say i've had microwave breakfast sandwiches that were better. Honestly, they would be better off just not offering breakfast sandwiches. So, long story short, it cost $27dollars to ensure I'd never visit there again.

Maw's Mountain Moonshine is a charming store that specializes in selling moonshine, using family recipes passed down through generations. The store's exterior resembles the Appalachian Mountains, and it even features an old still used by the owner's father. Visitors are greeted with a wide array of flavor options for tasting at just $8. The cozy Christmas decor adds to the inviting atmosphere, and the friendly staff make guests feel right at home.
Maw’s Mountain Moonshine is a store that (as you guessed it) sells moonshine. The moonshine sold at this store employs family recipes that are many generations old. The outside of the store even looks like you could be back in the Appalachian Mountains. In fact, the old still in the front waiting room was used by the father of the young man giving us our taste testing to learn his craft. When you first arrive, you will be overwhelmed by the number of flavor varieties offered. So… it is well worth the $8.00 to join their taste testing and hear about the nuances of the flavors when you sip on the moonshine. This way you can choose the right flavor for you to take home. In addition, they also make some great cocktails with their moonshine. If you like an adventure I truly suggest you give this place a try.

My Husband and I have been living in the Orlando area for over 20 years now and we have always loved Old Town. We used to take our kids there a lot when they were small and at times they still visit . We heard about Maws Moonshine and decided to stop by one day on our recent visit there. Such an amazing place, the staff was on point as soon as we walked in with such warmth and kindness. Everyone was very helpful to start. To the front as we worked our way to the back to the test testing. Great people , feels like home . My neighbors have been recommended to take a visit . Don’t miss out , Stop by if you want great customer service and delicious moon shine from all different flavors as well as great gifts to take home to family and friends. This is the place to visit at Old Town. 😉

Incredible and helpful staff that honestly made us feel welcome and at home. This family-owned and operated craft distillery is the perfect place to enjoy a delicious moonshine cocktail or take home a jar of flavored moonshine to enjoy later. Maw's Mountain Moonshine is located in the heart of the entertainment district, so you can easily walk or bike to the distillery. They have a large patio with plenty of seating, so you can enjoy your drink outdoors on a warm day. And if you're lucky, you might even catch some live music! The distillery offers a wide variety of moonshine flavors, including apple pie, blueberry, key lime pie, and watermelon. They also have a variety of moonshine cocktails, such as the Moonshine Mule and the Moonshine Margarita. If you're visiting Mount Dora, be sure to stop by Maw's Mountain Moonshine. You won't be disappointed! 🌟Tips: 1️⃣ Since Mount Dora has an open container law, you can buy a specialty mug for $10 that gets you 2 drinks in your cup. This is a great way to save money and avoid having to carry around multiple cups. 2️⃣ Maw's Mountain Moonshine also has a loyalty program. For every 10 drinks you purchase, you get a free drink. This is a great way to get free drinks and save money in the long run.

I did a moonshine tasting with Allen, who was an absolute delight. He’s a fun, knowledgeable bartender with just the right amount of charm to make the whole experience feel special. The flavors were fantastic, and Allen made it easy to enjoy and learn a bit along the way. If you’re curious about moonshine or just looking for something a little different and fun, this is the place to go!🍓

I've had my eye on this cute little house on the corner for SO LONG and I'm thrilled to see that these folks have done such a wonderful job bringing it to life. We actually got there just as they were getting ready to close so, we didn't have the opportunity to try anything but, boy am I excited to go back! The Christmas decor was ON POINT. It's like a holiday dream walking in there right now. Dreamy and romantic 😍 Everyone working there was incredibly kind and willing to have a conversation. Honestly, it felt like walking into someone's home. They were incredible. They offer samples and mixed drinks as well as their bottles of Moonshine and witty merch. If you're familiar with some other Moonshine spots they do have some similar flavors like apple pie or the traditional white lightning but, they also have some unique offerings that have my mouth drooling (like strawberry jam!). I'll be sure to update as soon as I get to try everything!

What a great atmosphere! From the time you walk into the door you are made to feel like family. The decor is awesome and the moonshine is amazing! $5 for a tasting and worth every dime. Blake makes it fun and engaging. White Lightning, Blueberry Muffin Watermelon, Strawberry Jam, Paws Lemon-aide, Hot Apple Pie and Peach Cobbler. You MUST stop in and sit a spell. Live music on the weekends. I can't wait to go back. See you soon Dreama! (Your worst Best Friend)

Bubble tea store
The much-anticipated MagicTea Market has finally opened its doors. Although still in its soft opening stage, the newest storefront is attracting attention. One of their highlights is the introduction of mochi donuts, which have received positive feedback for their soft and chewy texture. Unlike many other sweet treats, these donuts are not overwhelmingly sugary. While some flavors like tiramisu may lack a distinct taste, others like churro are thoroughly enjoyed by customers.
🧋 Drinks: 8.5/10 ✅Quality: 8.5/10 👩🏻‍💼 Service: 8/10 🧼Hygiene: 8/10 🍃Ambiance: 7/10 I’m so happy I found this place! It’s kind of small but they do have a couple of tables where you can sit to eat or drink. They even sell stuff like ramen, unique flavored chips, anime drinks and many other things. They have many flavors of the popping boba pearls or you can get the actual tapioca pearls which are chewy and taste so good. So far I tried the Taro (purple one), Oreo and the crème brulee. The mochi donuts are so fluffy, crispy and chewy at the same time. The prices are decent, I usually order a large cup because the small one is very small and they don’t have a medium. I didn’t get the chance to try their food bowls yet but I might one day. I will be coming back for more 👌🏼

My favorite place for bobba tea hands down. My guilty pleasure is the Mango Sago Slush. I love it so much, and every time I have it, it always tastes amazing. They have other amazing items there, other menu item I like are the fruit teas and the other slush. Also the mochi donuts are tasty and they have a variety of snacks. Also they have cute stuff to buy there. Customer service is great, she is very nice (even when I had arrive kinda of close to closing - my bad!). Recommend 100% this place. Sitio 100% recomendado, vayan les va a encantar.

5 stars all around ✨️ . Such a cute little boutique spot. We had the Lychee Fruit Tea with Passion Fruit Boba, Mango Passion Fruit Tea with Passion Fruit Boba, Mocha Coffee, and Strawberry Milk Tea with Tapioca Boba. Everything was amazing. It's fruity, sweet, and refreshing. Bonus: They have a variety of delicious mochi donuts. Service was great. This is definitely a must-try hidden gem in Mount Dora.

I was so happy at this location of the Magic Tea Market. This place was absolutely beautiful and had so many options to choose from the menu. I chose the Mango Milk w/ Boba which was so delicious and very mango. My favorite part was they had a selection of different drinks and foods you can try at home. It was also not as busy as the downtown Mount Dora location so there was so much more room to shop and relax. 10/10 💕

What a neat experience!! We came in for with a reservation for high tea and had the best time! Our waitress, Tracy, was so informative and we loved talking to her! I got the peach black tea with honey and it was exquisite. Along with our high tea, we got finger sandwiches and sweets that were delicious and filling! The place was filled with English regalia with lots of celebration of Queen Elizabeth. I can’t wait to try this again and would recommend this 10x over.

Stopped in for lunch while in Mt Dora was blown away by how great everything was. Their Ruben used very tasty lean corn beef and the rye bread tasted fresh. The bangers and mash were flavorful as well with onion gravy and peas. The carrot cake stole the show though. Absolutely moist and served with a drizzle of caramel and whip cream. Glad we came in.

Vincent's Italian Restaurant is a beloved gem in Mount Dora, serving up classic Italian fare since 1998. This charming eatery offers an extensive menu featuring everything from delectable garlic rolls to a variety of pasta dishes that are sure to satisfy any craving. Recently, the restaurant has undergone some lovely upgrades in decor and ambiance, enhancing the dining experience while maintaining its warm and inviting atmosphere.
We went for early dinner at 4 pm. We were greeted nicely and shown to a booth. The restaurant was clean and attractive.they were playing Italian music which I always appreciate at an Italian restaurant. The salad was fresh , the garlic knots were delicious and Raniyah, our server was very friendly and accommodating. I asked for baked ziti with marinara sauce and they made it for me. My husband had chicken Parmesan which was delicious as well. The food was served very hot. We had cannoli and limoncello cake for dessert with coffee. Wow! Was that coffee hot! The cannoli shell was crisp and the cream was tasty. Lemon well cake was very nice as well. We had a great experience and will be back soon! Thank you Raniyah for the great service!

Visiting Mount Dora and had passed this restaurant several times over the years so decided to give it a try! Pierre greeted us and sat us in a booth right away and brought silverware and menus. He answered some questions and gave us a few minutes to decide while he brought the drinks. We ordered and salads and garlic knots were brought out rapidly. The main courses arrived soon after we finished the starters. Everything tasted fresh and delicious, portions were generous and the service was excellent. Pierre served us with a smile and had a really great attitude and manner - thank you!

This was mine and my mother’s first time trying this place and we really had a good time! The food was very good! We ordered the family sized deluxe calzone (huge with everything in it!), fried calamari (rings and tentacles with a light seasoned batter - not chewy!), and the large sized antipasto salad (also good! Especially with the oil and vinegar dressing!). It was Easter Day so they were a bit busy, but on point! Def would try again, many other yummy sounding dishes on the menu I would like to try in the future. Great job guys!

I’m very glad we ate here for my birthday dinner! It was so delicious. I got the Salmon Valentino and substituted the regular pasta for gluten-free. The sauce was so flavorful, the salmon was cooked to perfection, and the food was plated beautifully. We had brought our two year old toddler and 9 month old baby along with us and the waitress was so sweet to them and understanding of them being a little noisy. I was very appreciative that she made us feel welcome and not stressed that the babies were being slightly rambunctious. 100% will be back again!!

We finally tried this gem! So glad we did. The atmosphere is fun, colorful, bright, spacious, and unique. Great artwork and design! Our server was friendly, very efficient, and her personality fit in with the cool place. We ordered the pizzas, one with everything, and one with cheese for my son. They were delicious. The toppings were very fresh and perfectly cooked. 👌 we also had a house salad with apple vinaigrette. As with the pizza, the salad ingredients were crispy and fresh. It was first time here. We chose it because it served brick oven pizza and allowed dogs on the patio. We chose the limited edition Magical Mystery Tour pizza. $25 for medium (which was large enough for 4). It has spinach, feta, mushrooms, jalapenos and more. Very good! The patio was a beautiful setting for our dinner. Great selection of beers to choose from. We will be back! Thank you to the bartender who served us.

Not as tasteful as I thought it would be also very thick. I couldn’t dip the bread because it was too thick. The taste was very bland and plain. The customer service was very good at this location. The seating was very nice’ the booths are very comfortable and spacious ! If I come back to this part of Florida again, I will visit!
