The Harbour Town Lighthouse is a must-visit attraction on Hilton Head, South Carolina. Standing at 90 feet tall with its iconic red and white stripes, this half-century-old beacon offers visitors the chance to explore different periods of the state's history on each level. For a fee of $5.75, guests can climb 114 steps to reach the summit and enjoy breathtaking views of Harbour Town Golf Links and the surrounding marsh.
My husband and I LOVED the lighthouse! We got free admission as part of our stay at Sea Pines, and I am so glad that we went! The sky was very clear when we went and it made for an amazing photo opportunity. Additionally, we loved all of the historical artifacts inside the lighthouse to see when walking up the stairs. The gift shop is also very cute and we left with some souvenirs. An amazing experience and we highly recommend. Great place to catch the sunset and an evening smooch 😀

Had the opportunity to visit this landmark that I have always seen on the PGA tour, and now personally for myself. Took the opportunity to visit the store and look at all the cute items they have for sale. Did not have time to actually climb the lighthouse, perhaps next time. The store is full of lots of great items to commemorate your visit. Apparel, souvenirs, jewelry, and lots of books. It is a great place to bring your kids as there are a lot of fantastic items for them. Given that the shop is located in the lighthouse and not a huge footprint of space, and it is tight. So if there are a lot of visitors, it’s kind of tough to move around and see everything. However, it is well worth your time and effort. So stop on by and check it out.
Ed V — Google review
The light house was great! We had a several families with us. The stairs weren't too much. They have a lot of learning facts on every stair platform and all throughout the walls. The kids loved looking and reading about various points in history. I would definitely recommend! The view was spectacular. When youre done you can get something to eat, walk the beach or walk the pier.
Cait O — Google review
Always love visiting the Harbour Town Lighthouse & waterfront! We love walking out on the pier, eating shrimp & finishing off with eating ice cream while rocking in the red rocking chairs at the waterfront looking at the yachts - sometimes returning or even departing!! My only complaint is having to pay $9 to get into the Sea Pines community to get to the lighthouse village. We also noticed an extra $.80 for a "community" charge on our To Go Shrimp Baskets! However - it's a beautiful & peaceful atmosphere and setting!!

Harbor Town Lighthouse in Hilton Head is definitely worth a visit while you’re staying on the island. Be sure to go up the lighthouse around sunset for the most beautiful golden hour photos with your family. The walk from the parking lot to the lighthouse is stunning, with ancient, majestic Southern live oaks draped in Spanish moss — truly a sight to behold. If you enjoy history, the lighthouse has interesting displays, and there’s also a gift shop where you can find unique souvenirs to remember your visit.
Sondra F — Google review
My husband and I had fun at the lighthouse. There is a $9 fee to get into the Sea Pines area and then $7.50 per person to go up the lighthouse. There is a store at the bottom and at the top. Up the stairs on each level are artifacts and history of the island and the lighthouse. Outside the lighthouse is lots of seating, stores, and restaurants. It was very cute and quaint.
Kristen — Google review
The cost to climb the stairs is $7.50 per person. What a great surprise to find that active duty and Veterans entry fee is waived with no cost, but we had to ask as they don't advertise it or ask you. The climb up the stairs/museum is very educational and interesting if you take the time to look and read. Most people just hurry up the stairs to the top without taking the time to enjoy. Once you are at the top, the views of the water, marina and of course the world renowned 18th fairway of Harbour Town Golf Links, are Phenomenal. We even got to see dolphins out in the water. One suggestion is take quarters with you as they have smashed Penny machines as you climb and viewers at the top. There is a gift shop both at the top and bottom. We'll worth the visit just for the views
Thomas L — Google review
The face of Hilton head. Pretty lighthouse with nice views. Truly iconic. The surrounding shops are ok and the restaurants are expensive. Just know before you go that to enter the neighborhood is 9 dollars and to go up the light house is 7.

Absolutely the best Tanger outlets we have been to anywhere. They had better deals than most of the others we have been to. A lot of nice stores. We haven't been to a single one that had as many deals.

Went on Labor Day but it wasn't overly crowded and we found lots of good deals. One of the nicest Tanger Outlets that I've been too.

Plenty of great stores for any age group. Love that they added a Golf Apparel shop. Excellent deals! Tanger 1 is a bit less crowded and more shaded.

A must-do every time we visit Hilton Head! Our favorite is Outlet 1. Chicos, Brooks Brothers, Under Armour, Saks Off Fifth are most of our favs! The staff in all the stores have been friendly and helpful. Chicos and Brooks Brothers even remember us when we return because of conversations with them and our Doodle. I also love that the stores are dog friendly, especially in the heat of the summer with our well-trained dog!

Nestled in the heart of Old Town Bluffton, the Old Town Bluffton Inn is a charming Queen Anne-style hotel that exudes elegance and comfort. With its vintage furnishings and inviting porch, this inn feels like a home away from home. Guests rave about the immaculate cleanliness of the rooms and the cozy bedding that ensures a restful stay.
The hotel was amazing from check in to check out! Everyone is so very friendly and accommodating! The room was impeccably clean and so thoughtfully decorated! The bed was comfy and the breakfast offerings and snacks were perfect! My husband really enjoyed the complimentary Old Fashioned before heading to dinner. Vince was so very knowledgeable about the area and very helpful with his suggestions! The location is perfect and within close walking distance to numerous shops and restaurants. We will definitely come back to stay at the Inn!

What a fabulous stay we enjoyed at the Old Town Bluffton Inn! We enjoyed it so much we put off our next days travel to stay another night. Right from the moment we set foot in the Inn we were welcomed with warm southern hospitality. Vince and Danielle and staff made us feel like family. Bonnie is the chef and baker who puts out a homemade breakfast that you can enjoy at the dining table or take with you if you are on the go! We sat both evenings on the front porch with a complimentary glass of wine or cocktail and enjoyed the happy faces of the few people walking by the hotel. This is a new hotel only 7 years old, created by the Harrisons. The accommodations are therefore up to date, but the building is designed and appointed to look like it's been there for decades. The local shops and restaurants are exceptional as well. If you are headed to Bluffton or are visiting Charleston, you definitely need to spend some time at the Old Town Bluffton Inn. Old Town Bluffton Inn is a gorgeous, immaculate property. Both my husband and I would give it more than 5 stars if we could. We've both stayed in luxury hotels and resorts across the US and around the world. This property's feel and service are on par with some of the best we've seen. It's immaculately clean and well maintained. Each room has its own beautifully decorated private bathroom and the pantry is generously stocked. Even better, it's independently and locally owned. The owners are friendly, wonderful people who were on-site every day (even on the weekend). There is so much to see and do within walking distance. Fantastic restaurants, bars and shops abound. We went to dinner with friends and family on a Saturday night at a fantastic local restaurant within walking distance of the Inn. Walking back we stumbled on two venues playing really great local music. We highly recommend Old Town Bluffton Inn and will be back!

I came to Bluffton for some very stressful work but the highlight of my trip was my stay in this wonderful Inn. The room was quiet, cool and comfortable. The bed was better than my bed at home. The breakfast was wonderful, but the best part of the inn were the people. Each employee I encountered wanted me to feel at home and I did! I can't wait to come back to Bluffton, not for work, but with my bride, so that we can stay at your charming, comfortable and most hospitable Inn. Thank you so much! Sincerely. John Grantland

I just wanted to share how enjoyable my stay was this weekend. The comfort of the beds and sheets truly stood out; it felt like sleeping on a cloud, and I haven't rested that well in months. The shower was remarkable, comparable to something you'd find in a luxury hotel like the Four Seasons. The atmosphere in the lobby and on the front porch was so cozy and inviting, which enhanced the overall experience. I was particularly impressed by the staff. Their fantastic service, coupled with their warm, beautiful South Carolina accents, made it all the more special. And the breakfast? So good! The self-serve options until 10 am were impressive, featuring fresh-baked coffee cake, biscuits, and egg bites. The sausage and bacon were delicious as well. Overall, it was a truly memorable stay!

I travel to Bluffton often, and this was my first time staying at the Old Town Bluffton Inn, and I can confidently say I’ll only stay here from now on. I love this hotel because you truly don’t feel like a number. Every single person on the staff is so kind, genuine, and welcoming. They greet you by name, offer the best local recommendations, and make you feel right at home. The morning breakfast is delicious and just the right amount to start the day. The complimentary bites and drinks are such a thoughtful touch especially for someone like me who sometimes forgets to eat while working! When I wrapped up with my client, I loved working in the lobby. It’s cozy, elegant, and so inviting…the perfect spot to get things done. And don’t get me started on the room! I stayed on the second floor with a balcony overlooking the main street, the perfect place to enjoy coffee in the morning or unwind in the evening with a good book. The bed was incredibly comfortable (and custom-made for the hotel, which I thought was amazing). The location couldn’t be better, I was able to walk everywhere and didn’t waste time driving around. Do yourself a favor and stay here. Your future self will thank you.

An absolutely lovely experience! I wish I had booked more than one day. The rooms are elegant and smell so delicious! Happy Hour nightly offers craft cocktails and wine. And breakfast is a lovely serve-yourself buffet of bites and goodies. I loved the yogurt parfait! Katie at the concierge desk is the absolute best and I felt like I could talk to her endlessly. I'm already planning my next visit!

Such a gorgeous church! Got there right before the tours closed at 2pm. The ladies provided some amazing history and details. Wish I had more time to buy the “Holy Honey” . Go see for yourself if you’re curious! Has that old antique smell with the beautiful wood.

In addition to serving quality house beans in their espresso drinks, the cafe also provides a variety of teas, smoothies, and delicious food options for breakfast and lunch.
Loved the atmosphere at Corner Perk and love that you can also sit outside. We got 5 coffees to go! My only critique is the sugar free vanilla was very sweet, so good easy on it if you get a sugar free vanilla latte! We tried new and seasonal coffees, the iced honey bee latte and the iced cherry vanilla, both delicious! I also got a hot organic cocoa mocha, I liked it, it wasn't too sweet! The service was great and the people are kind and patient. Definitely check this place out in Old Town Bluffton!

Cute little coffee shop with outrageous prices on breakfast sandwiches. $14 for a bacon, egg, & cheese bisket with small bag of kettle chips! Highway robbery! If you want to pay $45 for coffee & simple breakfast for two people then stop in. The prices were shocking for breakfast, pays to look around for a better deal. We did have great service!

The breakfast is solid. If you need a quick meal, it’s great. The coffee though, is impressively subpar. The past two visits, my cappuccinos have left burns in my mouth. I’m not that picky, but I don’t want scalding coffee. I asked them to remake the first time. I didn’t have time the second time. Bummer because it’s a prime location

Nice quiet location. Not super busy and quick, friendly service. We vacationed here and after a morning walk in the beach we wanted to stop for coffee and pastries. We all agreed we would rate this place as average. Nothing really stood out. The coffee was good but the banana bread and muffin were not my favorite. Banana bread has some type of spice that overpowers the banana flavor and the muffin was dry. Nice experience, but not a place I’d visit again.

Stumbled on this little hidden gem, it was so clean and the young ladies that were working there were so knowledgeable about all of the ice cream they showed us how to make waffle cones. We throughly enjoyed our ice cream at Ben&Jerry's. The location is great, right in the heart of downtown Bluffton, great place to take a walk to walk off the ice cream. The service was great, a very nice young man helped us. The shop was clean and there were several places to sit outside and inside the shop. The ice cream flavors we had were really good, smooth, creamy, and perfectly sugary. Great place to get some ice cream for kids and adults.

This used to be a very decent place, for dairy free ice cream…..I went today and all three flavors of dairy fee, (which they still advised) weren’t available! The girl behind the counter said, that they have a cookie dough, (which was not on their dairy free menu)…but ensured me, was dairy free! Well, it was definitely NOT and I am still ( 6hr later) extremely sick to my stomach!!! This is unacceptable!!! People are not eating dairy free, for no reason!!!! Also the three girls, working behind the counter, had much more fun, being on their phones…… meanwhile, the counters are extremely sticky and full of waffle crumbs from previous costumers! Last time for me, at this place!!

When you're in need of some comforting food after a tiring day, head over to Fat Patties! This laid-back and kid-friendly burger joint offers a great atmosphere and delicious food. The "Who's Your Pattie" burger with grass-fed beef, pulled pork, and bacon comes highly recommended. Additionally, they offer an amazing variety of in-house microbrews and host trivia nights with beer specials. The restaurant also follows social distancing guidelines and maintains a clean environment.
My husband, youngest son, and I visited and had a great experience. I absolutely loved the wine punch and tried to duplicate it when I got home... failed. 😂 We had the nachos for an appetizer and they were pretty good. My husband loved the pepper jack queso on the nachos. The burgers were well cooked, but could have used some seasoning. The fries were good. The 7 spice ketchup was different, but good. We enjoyed everything. Great choice. The ambiance was nice also. I would love to return when a band is playing.

All the positive reviews had me really looking forward to trying this place. Maybe it was just an off night for them but we had terribly slow service and our food was ok at best. Our server did mention the night before was a bit hectic so they were out of a number of things. Maybe that's the reason, unfortunately for us. We ordered drinks and an appetizer while we waited for the other part of our group and browsed the menu. The appetizer didn't arrive for an hour and, when it did, it was disappointing. Bbq stuffed jalapenos sound amazing but these fell flat. The jalapeno was raw and the bbq cold and grey. Burgers fell apart in soggy buns. Milkshakes were good though.

Amazing variety of micro brews made in house. They really know their beer, gose and everything. Burgers are amazing and the prices are fair. On trivia night they do a 5$ beer special!

I had the black bean burger which tasted good, but they forgot my caramelized onions and fried egg. Also had the sautéed veggies which were good too.

Fat Patties had a great atmosphere, the beer and food we're also amazing. I had the "who's your Pattie" burger. It was a grass feed burger with pulled port and bacon on top. This burger was so good would highly recommend having it. Suggest also having a flight of beer just to taste all the local "salt Marsh berwery".

Truly extraordinary service with two servers that worked in tandem. The mixed drinks were creative and delicious. The food was all superlative quality artfully prepared. Separate desert and pastry chef that completed the experience on a high note. Nothing disappointed, truly out of this world 🌎 experience! Highly recommended 👍

Can I give a a million stars to our AWESOME server, Reilly? We’ve lived in Bluffton for a little over two years and finally got a reservation. The food was delicious, the atmosphere lovely, and the owner made a point of stopping at every table and I also saw her helping out with the waitstaff. But as wonderful as it all was — and it was indeed wonderful — our server, Reilly, was the most delightful, capable, efficient, caring and unobtrusive server we’ve ever had. All in all a fabulous experience. No wonder the Bluffton Room is always booked up!

Date Night #2 at The Bluffton Room ✨🌹 Tonight was pure magic. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance wrapped around us like a warm embrace. The salmon was absolutely divine—perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor😋. And that 10 oz filet? It melted in my mouth like velvet, especially paired with the glass of Corvina🍷 that brought everything together in the most romantic way. Huge thanks to Tatiana for making us feel so welcome and to Chef Jeff for crafting a meal that felt like a love story on a plate. 💕 Nights like tonight—watching her across the table, eyes sparkling, laughter dancing between us—remind me just how special our union is. These are the moments that become memories, stitched into the fabric of our love. #MakingMemories #BlufftonRoom #LoveOnAPlate #GratefulHeart #theblufftonroom #Chapter2 #blackloveexists

An evening filled with laughter, great company, and incredible food. Tonight’s entrées stole the show — beautifully prepared gomel to sheep’s head fish and a perfectly cooked filet. And of course, we couldn’t leave without table-side Bananas Foster, flamed and served with a birthday candle to celebrate in style. So grateful for nights like these with wonderful friends, delicious plates, and memories worth savoring. 🥂✨

Summary: Stellar choice for memorable dining experiences in Old Town Bluffton. The Bluffton Room is really special. If you are looking for an exceptional dining experience with amazing cuisine and detailed, personalized service, this is the place. My wife and I have celebrated anniversaries here. We typically order the "Porterhouse for Two" which is fantastic. The atmosphere is cozy and the service is just right. This is a small space, so you will need to book reservations far in advance. Pricey, but well worth the expense. Highly recommended.

I had a dinner date with my boyfriend last Thursday. Every time we try to make a reservation, they’re always full. It’s a small place, so having a reservation is highly recommended. Our server (forgot her name) gave us excellent service! She was welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was great, from appetizers to dessert. My boyfriend ordered the elk loin. It was tender and tasty. I ordered the salmon, and it was great! The portion of salmon was decent, but maybe they should add more on the side. But other than that, I still enjoyed it and cleared my plate. They were also doing a table-side dessert, which was the banana foster. It was very entertaining to watch, and the taste? Heaven!! Place and service 10/10.

Best restaurant in Bluffton area hands down. Cory and Tonja are quite possibly the best human beings I've ever met. I highly recommend getting to the bar and enjoying the banter with everyone. This is one of the few places I feel completely comfortable going to alone. The chef is a dream come true. The man knows how to keep a woman happy... Steak! Not any steak but a delicious ribeye cooked to perfection... every... Single... Time! Filets, ribeye, loin, elk, beef, Iberico, you name it, if he cooks it, I'm eating it. My favorite place in the US, and now every restaurant no go to has to compete with TBR!

We heard that line forms before the doors open for dinner so we had to see what it was all about. The 18 seat bar gets a wait list and with only nine tables for seating, I figured maybe all the talk was exaggerated. After spending the next two hours with one dish after another where I was blown away at the complexity of the flavors, I now understand what everyone was in line for. The drinks were delicious, the food INCREDIBLE, but the best part of the night was the unparalleled service. Our server, Dana, was so on point and walked us through each and every dish. It wasn't dinner, it was an EXPERIENCE. If I were to give any kind of criticism, it would only be the lack of clothing on the hostess. An upscale experience should be complimented by the appearance of their staff.

During a visit to the area, we had the opportunity to dine at Okàn, an exquisite restaurant that had recently opened. The establishment's captivating ambiance and delectable cuisine left a lasting impression. We were so impressed that we have already recommended it to our friends who will be visiting Savannah and Hilton Head later this year. However, one suggestion would be to provide staff training on proper wine service as our server simply placed the bottle on our table without any further assistance.
Okan is my favorite way to step into a modern fine dining experience in Bluffton. Chef Bernard has curated a menu that gives many options for the curious foodie. The crafted cocktail menu is refreshed often and kept in season. They recently added acoustical panels to the ceiling which was a great improvement for the overall ambiance. Our waitress, Keyshauna, has never let us down with her cheerful attitude and great service. I definitely love going to Okan and bringing friends there when they visit. Its a culinary adventure!!

Beautiful restaurant with outdoor dining option that is dog friendly. Waiter couldn't have been more polite. Manager was very hospitable and even brought bug spray for me. Now to the star of the evening--the food! The oxtail is incredible..the okra was grilled perfect and underneath had the most delicious red sauce. The lamb ribs were also very good

The most laudable dining experience! From my online reservation being processed without complications. The same reservation was honored at the time slot specified without wait or cause. The atmosphere and ambiance were warm, cozy, and inviting. Dimly lit lighting ushered us into the romance not expected for the evening. Not to be outdone, the staff was exceptional in the demeanor, professionalism, and hospitality. We were the last reservation of the evening, however, were not rushed and received impeccable service. Our server, Rodrick, provided us with the most details and thorough explanation of the menu that we simply allowed him to order for us! His recommendations on pairing our entrees and side dishes were exquisite. The meals were prepared absolutely flawlessly. Taste, texture, and plating aroused our taste buds, which, by the way, were not disappointed. The food was amazing....simply amazing!! Our evening was highlighted and honored by Executive Chef Bernard stopping by our table. We shared our gratitude for an evening of elegance and succulent dining. While Chef shared his passion for creating such unique (albeit common by name) dishes. Let just say that I have found a new place to not only dine but host business partners, future clients, and friends. I am encouraging everyone to make a reservation or just stop by Okan Bluffton for a dining experience of exceptional class. Chances are, I will be there when you visit!

Don't sleep on this place, Bluffton. We came in to town to visit some family, and decided to try this place. The food was excellent for flavors and presentation. The Coco (sp?) Bread was dangerously good. We could've filled up on that alone. Lobster curry was mild but awesome. The flank steak was cooked perfect. I would come here regularly, if I lived in town.

Soooo glad we made the drive out from Hilton Head Island to try Okan! Hands down the best meal of our trip and one of the best meals we’ve had in a very long time. Everything was uniquely delicious but the goat curry and jollof rice were our favorites! The hint of the scotch bonnet pepper in the goat curry was perfection. After dinner we walked up to their ice cream window and enjoyed some home made ice cream. Our daughter who always gets strawberry LOVED the butter pecan and so did we! Can’t wait to come back in the future. ❤️

The food was delicious. There was only one waitress for the entire restaurant. Needless to say service was slow. If you ordered a drink it did not come until your meal came or after. They also allowed a gentleman to come in with his dog. It was not a service dog. One it was not identified as a service dog and two the dog was barking.
Martha M — Google review
I chose this restaurant based on the high ratings and an intriguing menu—but what a letdown. There was a huge gap between expectation and reality. Service: It took 50 minutes to get our food—and there were fewer than 10 people in the restaurant at lunchtime. No excuse for that kind of wait. Food: • Cornbread: Just… no. It had an odd, almost plantain-like flavor (if that’s what it was?), but not in a good way. It was also overcooked and slightly burnt. • Djon Djon with Shrimp: Word of warning—do not order this if you’re on a date unless you want to look like you’ve been possessed. Your mouth turns black. The mushrooms were flavorful, and the dish itself was okay, but the presentation and side effects? Yikes. • Shrimp: I love head-on shrimp, but these were so overcooked they were impossible to peel. Do you eat the shell or just give up? I tried… and gave up. Overdone and dry. A little fat or oil during cooking would’ve gone a long way. • Fonia Bowl with Jerk Chicken: Probably the best of the bunch, but still just meh. Maybe a 6/10. Add it all up—slow service, disappointing food, and an $80 lunch tab—and it’s a hard pass from me.

Went for the first time and had a wonderful experience. The overall ambiance and interior design is modern & warm. Our server was incredibly attentive & knowledgable. It was a somewhat quiet night. The food came out pretty quickly and was full of flavor! We had the green hummus as a great starter, both had the oxtail which I’d gladly order again and the okra with harissa was also really good. Well worth the 45 minute drive. Wandered down to the waterfront after to enjoy the sunset. Thanks for a great time!

For day 2, we recommend exploring the northwest side side of town. Start the day off with Pinckney Island National Wildlife Refuge, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Southern Barrel Brewing Co.. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

Nature & Wildlife Areas
Nestled between Mackay Creek and Skull Creek bridges, Pinckney Island National Wildlife Refuge is a coastal gem near Hilton Head Island that invites nature lovers to explore its rich biodiversity. With over 14 miles of trails meandering through salt marshes, maritime forests, and open fields, this refuge offers the perfect setting for both leisurely walks and energetic bike rides.
Beautiful location to walk and bike. The ibis pond was really stunning to see hundreds of the beautiful birds nesting in the trees. Bikes are allowed on the trails, but I'd recommend sticking to the gravel for casual riders, because the grass and dirt trails require a lot more effort.

We think we keep coming on off days. Once in the month of November and again in January. Very vast preserve and well set out trails. Plenty of parking. Never saw much. Beautiful trees.

Great walk along the shore, through the woods or both. Stunning scenery and abundant, varied wildlife. Certainly well worth a couple hours or more of your time.
Craig J — Google review
Beautiful park with an expansive nature trail system. It also has lots of ponds and is great for bird watching. It is best to explore the park by bike so you can get the most of it. A few areas were muddy and flooded (there was extensive rainfall the previous days) but we were able to get by on the bikes, where as the hikers had to turn back. We were able to explore the whole park, at a leisure biking pace, from 10 am to 3 pm. We made it all the way to White Point and it was worth it; the view did not disappoint. Don't bother going to Dick Point Pond. The trail is a bit unkempt, muddy and challenging. There are no restrooms or drinking water in the park. Parking is limited since this seems to be a popular park. Definitely worth a visit, whether you bike or hike.
Candela_ M — Google review
A great place to spend a few hours and connect with nature. Take time to stop along the way to look for birds and wildlife. The park has enough parking space and it can get filled up on a nice day. Good for both biking and walking. Plan to spend about half a day.

Our family loves to come here to explore!! Bring your walking shoes and a camera! Lots of neat photo spots here, bird watching, crabs. There is a swamp with gators in it that you can walk around very neat place to explore. Kids love it. The path is not concrete so off road stroller would be best for younger kids.

It was kind of chilly when we went. Had the weather been a bit warmer it could have been better but that just limits my ability to review. We didn't get as far as I would have liked but what we did walk was very flat and smooth. Off the main trail and it can get a little more rugged but no worries it's not the mountains! The weather my have limited our wildlife viewing and we only saw a crab but the views are good and we had a good time. Great place to burn some energy with the kids.

My family enjoyed our visit tremendously. Once you enter the parking area, there are maps/guides to pick up, and the trails are well maintained. We saw several species of birds, crabs, and even an alligator. I walked and the rest of my family biked. We all had a good time. Make sure to bring bug spray, though. Even in October, the mosquitoes were biting. Thankfully a nice couple shared their bug spray.
Bridget G — Google review
Perfect place for a long walks. Plenty of wild life to see. The easiest to spot are birds but with little patient and luck you can see so many other creatures ..even alligators. Detailed, ilustrated signs provide information throughout the whole area about different life forms you can encounter on your walk. Well marked paths are easy to follow and there is no chance to get lost

Amazing trails! Very good for walking, pushing a stroller/wheelchair. Leaving the trail to wander in the salt flats is at your own risk. Take plenty of water and salty snacks, limited shade. Plan on at least two hours.

Seafood market
Bluffton Oyster Co is a family-run establishment that has been operating since 1899, making it the last hand-shucking house in South Carolina. Situated on reclaimed land formed by discarded oyster shells, it offers a wide range of fresh seafood harvested from nearby waters. From fried seafood to sandwiches, this oceanside eatery and retailer provides a mellow atmosphere for visitors to enjoy the fruits of the sea.
Whenever we are near the quaint town of Bluffton we love driving out to the Bluffton Oyster Company! On every visit, the folks there are extremely helpful in helping us select our seafood! It is fresh. When you visit this store, be sure and talk to the locals about the kinds of fish and ask them the stories of where these fish were caught the folks that work here enjoy talking about the industry. Also be sure and walk out to the pier and spend some time enjoying being on the water. It is a fun trip.

We weren’t sure when we pulled up if we were in the right place or not when we arrived around lunch time. The inside was spacious and looked like they had seen some crowds in their day, but we were only one table out of one or two others there. I think the town had an event going on or something so I wasn’t too worried. Anyway, the server, Gaylia* (I think that’s how she said, it, sorry!) but she was fantastic, very accommodating. The food was really what got me, though. Unassuming, reasonably priced, hot, fresh and flavorful, is that too much to ask?! They hit the nail on the head though, from the tender gator bites to the sweet butter with hushpuppies, plump raw oysters, yummy cajun sauce or my mac and cheese, okra and fried shrimp were spot on. I ate every bit of it. Unfortunately, they did mess up our kids’ food. The grilled cheese was like a broiled cheese toast put together and they for some reason didn’t bread the fried fish nuggets with the same breading they use for everything else, real bummer there. Would totally go back though.

I'm from Kentucky and frequently visit a friend in Bluffton. We tried this place for the first time, and WE WILL BE BACK! Firstly, Genya was our server, and she was awesome. So kind, such a sweetheart, and set the stage for a great experience right off the bat! We got drinks to start, and they were top-notch. My friend got the oyster po' boy, and WOW! I don't even like oysters that much, but I would order this! I opted for a platter with the catch of the day (flounder) and scallops, fried okra and collard greens. I could not leave a morsel on my plate it was so good. We were so full from lunch that we didn't even eat dinner. I highly recommend it, and if you go, ask for Genya!

May River Excursions offers a variety of activities such as shrimping, crabbing, inshore and offshore fishing, and sightseeing with opportunities to spot Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphins. The company's locally-born-and-raised captains ensure unforgettable experiences. One popular option is the Daufuskie Excursion, allowing visitors to explore the 5-mile-long and 2.5-mile-wide island by renting a golf cart.
We had an amazing time with our guide Fred. We were amazingly lucky to have witnessed strand feeding. Fred noticed it out of the corner of his eye and was able to find the group. Check out the video in my review to see it. Truly incredible to see things I’ve only seen on National Geographic. We saw a plethora of dolphins in general. 9/7/25 Unforgettable experience, definitely recommend for a visit or even if you live in the area. The excursion offers a tour of an area mostly only accessible by private property.

Wow, what an unforgettable evening on this May River sunset cruise. From the moment our family stepped aboard our Captain Freddy made our evening together truly exceptional. First, we were amazed that our trip departed with just the 3 of us. Our boat was very clean and quiet. As we cruised around the May River, Captain Freddy shared so many fascinating facts about dolphins and the area. We were lucky to encounter at least 4 pods of dolphins. Plus, we saw baby dolphins less than one month old. The beauty of the May River, with its vistas of marsh grasses, birds, dolphins, and serenity, makes this cruise a five-star trip in itself. Our evening ended with a beautiful sunset and a leaping dolphin. Truly magical.

We traveled with two dogs on August 5 and appreciated Captain Alan’s top priority—safety—when thunderstorms rolled in. He waited for clear skies, kept us comfortable, and informed. We were thrilled on our departure day that Alan was our Captain again. He even spotted dolphins for us on the way back!! Book your water taxi to Daufuskie with May River Excursions!! Prompt, friendly, and careful—ask for Captain Alan!

Stepping back in time in Bluffton was an incredible experience. Walking the very small farmers market, the historic church’s, homes, oyster factory and art gallery that has local Gullah artists works for sale was several hrs of amazement. The Heyward house and visitor center is worth the stop to see the authentic home and furnishings, outdoor kitchen and slave quarters. Your visuals during this time is only limited by your imagination. The docent at Heyward will give you a walking or drive map of the town. Talk to a local and learn of a good place to have a bite in the new part of Bluffton. We ate at a seafood place and the fried shrimp plate was great. Easy drive from Hilton Head. Make Heyward house your first stop to get your bering.

Absolutely incredible. Truly today was a magical day and it was all thanks to the farmers market. Every vendor was welcoming, kind and told me all about there products. Nice local, nice booths. More food booths than produce. Not overly busy on this warm day. I've cream, honey, baked goods. I tried the gyro. Can't say it was the best I've ever had. An overriding spice I can figure out. Pita bread very good. Odd drinks to offer. I do believe they are of Greek heritage. Other items on their menu like spanikopita and Greek salad. A few picnic tables and chairs to sit. Sausages and pizza. Vanilla extract, cashew cheesecake. Jewelry, straw baskets

During my most recent visit to the market, there was a smoked meats stand, fresh dumplings and noodles, coffee, ice cream or ice pops, seafood, etc. The people in charge of this market do a really good job and really offer diversity. I hope it continues to grow.

Great farmers market. Beautiful vegetables and fruit. The bread guy is amazing! One of the best markets we have ever been to.

Love the Vendors and people! Food is excellent!

Small local farmers market. It's one that has several farms attend, not a flea market like some end up being. Fresh produce, eggs and fresh baked breads. Several booths set up for food as well. Always enjoyable and especially on a warm January day when the rest of the country is snowed in.

Great, if you can actually go but their is 0 parking so expect a walk. Good news is there's hardly ever a crowd because of the 0 parking so🤷

Southern Barrel Brewing Co. is a young craft brewery offering a diverse selection of homemade beers, including lagers, stouts, ales, pale ales, and even raspberry-flavored brews. They also feature seasonal selections that capture the essence of each time of year. The brewery has a rustic atmosphere with reclaimed wood accents and includes both the brewing facility and a tavern serving a full food menu. The outdoor patio area is dog-friendly and provides an inviting space to enjoy their brews.
Went out on my bike for a cruise when suddenly I heard an awesome live band at The Southern Barrel. From the start I was impressed by the environment- a dynamic rock band playing the good oldies, a fire pit was burning, a beautiful patio and an awesome sports bar. Max the bartender was very accommodating- he invited me to try a few samples of their home-made brews. It was hard to pick one so I order 2 different beers. Max recommended the freshly-made fried pickles, which quickly became my new favorite bar snack! Patrons were very nice- a very multi-cultural and multi-age venue. Southern Barrel will become my new hangout spot on Friday nights! They also offer a full menu with a variety of American classics! Very customer service oriented!

Great place for locals or those just passing thru. Try the beer flight and sample any four beers. Also have great food selection and other drinks. The bartender and staff are amazing.

This place is awesome! They have Live music every Friday at 6pm. Their food complements the delicious beer they make and THOSE DUCK BACON WONTONS MELT IN YOUR MOUTH! Phil Cox was such a treat yesterday. He has a way of telling you intimate stories between his sets. If you want to visit a cool spot or new to the area, stop in at Southern Barrel Brewing and you won’t be disappointed

We had a wonderful time at this local gem! The staff was incredibly kind, and the customer service was top-notch from start to finish. The general manager even stopped by our table to personally welcome us and let us know he was available if we needed anything—such a thoughtful touch. My friends and I truly enjoyed the entire experience. We tried the Duch margaritas, which were amazing, and I had the Duch wontons—absolutely delicious! The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming. We’ll definitely be back soon!

Fantastic food and service. Such a great and welcoming environment for a quick bite or to hang all day and try all of their local beers. Elana did fantastic with our chaotic group with a child and a dog. The chef even came out to see how everything was. We will absolutely return and you won’t regret going either!

Loved this stop on our trip home! Firstly, top marks for location/ambiance. Lots of parking and a great size to accommodate patrons. Service was fantastic, very friendly with recommendations and thoughtful of tastebuds when it came to the honey with ghost pepper dust. We tried 5 beers and they were all tasty- absolutely no funky ones in the bunch. You should definitely give them a go!
Tanya H — Google review
Great place to eat. We split a huge pretzel appetizer with beer cheese. Then had a classic burger cooked medium to perfection. The only complaint I would have, one of the waitresses was wearing spandex shorts and it was not fun watching her pull the legs of shorts down to get rid of wedgies on the front and back. Very unprofessional and slightly disgusting.
Brandon H — Google review
This place is really phenomenal. The food we had was amazing, especially the duck bacon wontons. They melted in your mouth. The beer was good and the ambiance was really pleasant, the wait staff super friendly and our food got out insanely fast and very hot. The dessert was even better! Plus it’s right across from the bowling alley so perfect to get drinks at right after.

Restaurant
The Pearl Kitchen & Bar is a casual dining spot located in the historic art district of Bluffton. It offers coastal seafood dishes and grilled fare, with the option to dine on the front porch. The restaurant prides itself on providing a complete sensory experience, featuring an outstanding wine list, handcrafted drinks, and fresh locally sourced produce. Known for its idyllic setting and cuisine, it's considered one of Bluffton's best coastal restaurants.
First of all, unless someone told you about this restaurant, you might miss it as it’s not on the main street. It’s in a beautiful area of Old Town Bluffton. Second, it was very hard to pick something from the menu! Everything sounded so good! Overall, service was wonderful, food was amazing, and everything was perfectly cooked. We started out with Ahi Tuna Poke and the Fried Green Tomatoes for appetizers. Both were very good, but the tomatoes…so good! I could’ve just had a large plate of that for dinner! The entrees, we got pictures of below and we all loved our entrees! We sat outside, as that was all that was available last minute, and the temperature was surprisingly very nice for an August evening. Make sure to get reservations early, if you want to sit inside. Plenty of parking on the street, as most of the surrounding businesses were closed for the day. Will definitely be back to try something else on the menu.

The Pearl delivers some of the best food in the Bluffton area. The seafood options are excellent. Specialty drinks are interesting and worth a try. Steaks are overpriced and not worth the $$. Stick to seafood. For dessert, the carrot cake is amazing. Parking can be limited and reservations are a must. You will spend some $$ but typically worth it. Highly recommend for a fine dining experience

I think this is the obligatory place to go to if you're visiting. If you have family in town, they'll probably bring you here as well. Everything here is excellent. Staff are great and the it seems to be pretty busy every night. Food was delicious.

First time. Went for our anniversary. Wonderful food, service and atmosphere. We started with fried green tomatoes. Excellent! I had blackened redfish and my wife had the scallops. Both were excellent as well! And for desert: peach & banana pudding with candied bacon.... YUM!

The good was fantastic....red fish and filet. The location is perfect, the vibe casual but still interesting and eclectic and the service is wonderful.
Carmela C — Google review
We pulled into The Pearl one night after a long day of travel and had a wonderful experience dining on the porch on a beautiful evening. Perhaps the fact that we were tired and hungry, and the evening was the perfect temperature for dining al fresco played a big role in our enjoyment, but The Pearl’s inviting atmosphere, delicious food, and excellent service truly made the experience memorable.

A perfect evening dinner, with an out of town guest after a long day of activities. The vibe was perfect – live music with a solo keyboard player setting a chill atmosphere. We sat at the cozy bar, ordered several starter plates to share - the calamari, roasted Brussel sprouts and truffle fries – all were 5star worthy!! The staff were some of the nicest, professional, and accommodating hard working women and men – all in sync‐ 5stars. If you haven't been, go — if you have had the pleasure, then you know.

The food was delicious, however we always tip in cash. We noted on the check that there was no credit card tip and it was in cash. When I got my credit card statement, there was an extra $35 added onto it that we had not authorized. Server double-dipping. The manager eventually did refund it, but you should be aware that this is happening at this restaurant.

Nestled in the heart of historic Old Town, The Cottage Cafe, Bakery & Tea Room is a charming eatery housed in a beautifully restored 1868 cottage. This cozy spot offers a delightful menu featuring Southern fare, afternoon tea, and delectable baked goods. Guests can savor dishes like the breakfast scramble and mimosas while indulging in homemade cakes from the bakery.
There are many awards hanging on the wall and for good reason. This place served some delicious eats. The staff are great and we were only in town for a few days and we went here twice! The perfect breakfast/brunch place in town. And it seems like they have no shortage of covers everyday.

Nice place for lunch. Food was very good and fresh. Service was very accommodating for our walk up party of 6. Nice cozy decor, the place is larger than it appears on the outside. Staff is friendly and helpful. Lunch menu had good variety of specials, sandwhiches, salads, and a whole section on shrimp and grits. All the food was very good. A few people got salads and colors were vibrant and fresh and the fruit was large and good. "The Dirty" shrimp and grits (pictured) was very good, a little spicy but added to the flavor.

We started our visit with a lovely table on the front porch, and from there the experience only got better. Kim took such great care of us, offering kind service and thoughtful suggestions that made our meal even more enjoyable. The food was absolutely outstanding! I ordered the power salad with salmon, shrimp, and a crab cake—it was, without question, the best salad I’ve ever had in my life. We wrapped up our time exploring the gift shop, which was the perfect, fun ending to an already wonderful visit. I can’t wait to go back!

We ordered a chocolate cake and coconut pie. Our family loved both items! The chocolate cake was so rich and delicious. They have amazing red velvet cupcakes and cake slices. We tried the pistachio slice and the mint lemon, both amazing. The cakes have a wonderful moist texture. We highly recommend!

Wow, the food was wonderful! We tried the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer, which was fabulous. Then one of us got the pineapple special which was amazing! Chicken wrap was delicious with homemade ranch! The salad trio was wow. Definitely will be back and definitely recommend!

This morning we went to The Cottage in Bluffton for breakfast, and I will never forget the kindness we experienced there. From the moment we arrived, our waitress Kim went above and beyond—helping us get my 88-year-old grandparents out of the car, making room for walkers, a cane, and our stroller. She treated my grandparents with such gentleness, even asking my grandma what kind of tea she was in the mood for—citrus, fruity, or herbal. She ended up with a raspberry lemon tea that made her light up with joy. The food was delicious, beautifully prepared, and everything felt perfect… until my grandma suddenly lost consciousness at the table. In an instant, the people around us—retired nurses sitting nearby—rushed to her side, coaching us through what information the paramedics would need and preparing to begin compressions when she lost her pulse. By God’s grace, she came back to us and slowly regained responsiveness. In the middle of all of this, Kim and the staff never missed a beat. She offered to hold my newborn so I could stay with my grandma, moved my car so the ambulance could get in, and management comped both our meal and the nurses’ meal without hesitation. They stayed close, offering comfort, hugs, and reassurance that we didn’t need to think about anything except my grandma’s wellbeing. It’s not often you see humanity so clearly on display—strangers stepping in to save a life, staff showing extraordinary compassion, and a community wrapping around us in a terrifying moment. We are forever grateful to The Cottage and to Kim for their care, and to the nurses who happened to be in the right place at the right time. Bluffton showed its true heart today. ❤️

We had a nice morning stroll in beautiful Blufton and ended up at this charming restaurant. I think, for the location, it provides great food at a decent price. The service was great as well. I will stop by again.

Went with my mother who really liked it the first time. I was starving and ready to eat. I had the blackened chicken salad. Unfortunately this food was not my taste. Actually it was fresh and the service was friendly but this is a tea room and the food is dainty. It’s fresh and well prepared, just not my cup of tea. But there’s an old saying that anything is good if you’re hungry. No disrespect to the place. Thank you because my mom enjoyed it very much.

Chicken Salad Chick

Sandwich shop
Chicken Salad Chick is a popular chain eatery that specializes in a wide variety of chicken salads, along with sandwiches, soups, and sides. While some customers have reported issues with the quality of the food, particularly suggesting it may have been mixed with older salad from previous days, others praise the delicious taste and especially enjoy the flavorful soups. However, there are occasional complaints about certain items such as the watermelon tea being overly sweet.
Every staff member here is wonderful, but especially Kelsey (hope I am spelling that right). I called after a small mistake was made with my order that I picked up in drive through. Kelsey offered to make a note to make things right next time I visited. When I came in next I was having a rough day, but her kindness and great customer service really made my day and attitude better. That girl deserves some recognition (and a raise😉) for sure!!

I ordered a sandwich online and picked it up. I parked to eat my lunch and when I went to eat the second half of my sandwich and noticed a couple of blue and black spots on the edge of the bread. I decided to inspect it further and looked into the white part of the bread and realized it was mold, I could clearly see spores inside of the bread. Since I was close to the restaurant I brought it back in to bring it to their attention and I was told that it was just burnt on the crust and that happens sometimes. I showed the cashier the spores on the inside of the bread and I was still told it wasn't mold that it was just burnt. If it had just been burnt it would stay around the crust area, not little black dots on the inside of the bread. The only resolution I was offered was a new sandwich which I turned down since it had made me lose my appetite. It's very unfortunate because I've loved chicken salad chick and make special trips to bluffton to come here, but I will find a new lunch spot.

Love, love, love Chicken Salad Chick! Their food is tasty, reasonably priced and the staff are the best! I have eaten at this location regularly for over 18 months after moving to this area. Was well familiar with CSC as I have dined there in Marietta, GA., as well as Louisville, KY.! Many flavors of chicken salad to try! GO FOR IT! YUM!

Rude drive thru staff & very inpatient… This is so confusing to me being that they have a sign on the menu board about being friendly…. Needless to say, today I drove to Savannah were I NEVER have a bad experience at CSC !

Never thought i was a chicken-salad guy, but have grown to really like it thanks to Chicken Salad Chick. They do an awesome job at helping beginners learn to each as such. Great food and staff!

Very good place to get the chicken salad you’re craving! Very fast very clean and the staff is wonderful! They pleased three ladies of three generations with out a hitch. Clean restrooms, tables and floors.
Jonathan H — Google review
I love Chicken Salad Chick. In fact, I’m one of five American men who will openly admit that and dine there solo. You’re welcome. Food is great (reminds me of my mom’s chicken salad), service is very good and personalized, and the atmosphere is very comfortable. I am astounded by people who try CSC and shrug and say it’s just “okay.” What?!? CSC consistently rocks!!! The staff at this location are very friendly and supportive. They greet me by name and make each visit enjoyable. I left a star off for food because there’s a tiny bit of room for improvement on portion size for things like salads and soups. Otherwise, the quality of the food is excellent. In a world where customer service has (almost) totally gone to crap in foodservice, Chicken Salad Chick stands out with a handful of other establishments on how it should be done. Highly recommended.
Jonathan K — Google review
The food was great (typical Chicken Salad Chick quality) and the restaurant was clean. The 1 star deduction is because of the atypical unfriendliness of the employees.

Oh my goodness! Some of the best doughnuts I’ve ever tasted! Amazing selection of unique flavors and they were all super fresh! The staff is very friendly and provide quick and excellent service! The salted caramel and Reese were two of my favorites. This shop is located on a side street, but very easy to access! Don’t let it not being on the main road stop you from checking this place out!

These donuts were AMAZING! They sell out QUICK, So you definitely need to come early early! We will for sure make this a part of our tradition whenever we come back in town.

So much variety and delicious options. Highly recommend you give it a try. Some donuts have a more cake like/dense texture, but we still enjoyed it. We also tried their coconut lotus drink. It was delicious!

Stopped by for some fresh donuts, never disappointed with the quality of their edibles! Plenty to choose from and all are super tasty! It’s another one of the places that we must stop and have when we’re in Bluffton. Keep up the high quality standards, we’ll keep returning! Enjoy!

We went on Friday at 9am and didn’t have to wait. Lots of fun and unique donuts to try. The key lime pie filling was so yummy I wish they sold full pies. We also tried snickers, maple bacon, chocolate with sprinkles, and salted caramel. Honestly I was surprised they didn’t charge more for these. Definitely worth a visit.

this is a local donut place. it is a tiny place only open on weekends. they have tables outside. I got a Bavarian cream donut. I was suprised to see that it was filled with cream. other donut stores you usually have to get to the middle of the doughnut before you get any cream. that was not the case here. they have some seating outside to sit if you would like to eat your doughnuts there. they even make a doughnut for your fur baby.

This is a small bakery that has outstanding service and food. The donuts are all fancy flavors. There is no where to sit inside, but there are small tables outside with umbrellas to enjoy your breakfast. They also sell coffee. My friend got a cup and said it was good. It was my first time here and the staff was very patient while I reviewed all of the gourmet options they had created. I would treat yourself to at least one visit here while in town. You’ll be pleased.
