Buffalo Chip Saloon and Steakhouse in Cave Creek is a quintessential Western roadhouse offering an authentic saloon experience. The establishment features Texas-style BBQ, multiple bars, live music, bull-riding, and western dance lessons. With a menu boasting smoked beef brisket, glazed burnt ends, pork butt and ribs along with various sides, it's a paradise for BBQ enthusiasts.
I can't believe that we've lived here four years and we are just now eating at the Buffalo Chip. We went earlier in the evening because we just wanted to check this place out without the weekend crowd. The Saturday Night Line Dancing Lessons were just starting as we finished our meal and cocktail. We definitely want to return soon because we loved the food, drink, and atmosphere.

Had a great time in the VIP area. Lucky to have that spot because the rest of the place was so crowded. We had all you can eat buffet and a private bar. Service was great up there. Rodeo was fun. Bathroom situation needs improved. One bathroom for hundreds of drinking patrons. Lines were insane. Otherwise we had a great time.
Valerie M — Google review
Fun place, very rustic. VIP seats are expensive, and we were initially given a table with restricted views so we could only see half the arena. We had to move to the arena seats for the first part of the show to be able to see properly. We were then offered another table with a better view as a party did not show. Food was good BBQ buffet style, but got cold quickly. Would have been nice to have a sweet dessert like a bit of apple pie or a brownie to help justify the $65 charge. They then over charged us by not deducting the full deposit we paid from the final bill. They did resolve this very quickly.

We had such a fun 1st time. Love the atmosphere. Our waiterres was amazing. I hate leaving a bad review...but, the fish fry was horrible. The walleye and cod was super old and cold. And I got a fish bone logged in my throat. And the skin left on it, isn't very tasty.

ALWAYS GREAT! We had prime rib on the Special with Salad and green beans which were cooked to perfection! 2 of us split the “Cowboy Cut” and still came home with leftovers! Harold’s has live music nightly and a variety of games, pool tables, bags and more! Note! Parking lot is dirt and may be uneven… so definitely no high heels!

My girlfriend and I came from out of town. We went here to get the “rodeo” experience and man did we have a time. The population was 95% white and the rest 5% black. But everyone was so kind. The food was amazing, I enjoyed the beef brisket, and the drinks were daily priced.

A couple of friends and I went to have a good time and this place did not disappoint! All the staff was incredible but one person stood out to us for being such a gentleman at every turn, Gadget. He was so kind and made sure that we were always safe and had everything that we could possibly need. When our night came to a close, one of our friends wondered away from the group and Gadget helped us locate her and made sure we all safely left together. I will absolutely be coming back and bringing many more friends!

What a fun and unforgettable night at this live rodeo restaurant! From the moment we arrived, the energy was electric and the atmosphere full of authentic country charm. The highlight of the night was definitely the live rodeo — such a unique experience to enjoy great food and drinks while watching real riders in action. It added a whole new level of excitement you don’t get anywhere else. The food was just as impressive — hearty, flavorful, and made with care. The brisket, smoked outdoors right on site, was absolutely mouthwatering. You could taste the hours it spent on that smoker. The drinks were cold and well poured, perfect for kicking back after cheering on the rodeo riders. And when the rodeo wrapped up, the party didn’t stop. The dance floor came alive with music, laughter, and line dancing. Whether you're dancing or just soaking it all in, this place delivers on every level — food, entertainment, and atmosphere. Can’t wait to come back again — a true one-of-a-kind spot!

Harold's Cave Creek Corral is a historic steakhouse and saloon that has been a staple in Cave Creek for over 80 years. Originally opened as the Corral Bar in 1935, it was later renamed when Harold Gavagan purchased it in 1950. The establishment offers a wide-ranging menu, live music, country dancing, and theme nights.
Great food and friendly environment. It seems this is a local hangout which says a lot. I had the chicken fried steak which was excellent. Tender meat with a light and crispy crust. Smothered in white cream gravy and real mashed potato's. Entrees come with soup or salad. I opted for the soup which was cream of mushroom and was very tasty. Service was fast and friendly. Have come several times for breakfast which was excellent.

I was here mid-afternoon on a Friday. Service was meh until she was done cashing out, and the new crew came in, but I was leaving by then. Instead of asking if I'd like another drink, it was more of a priority to check messages, and that was right in front of me. She had already checked out, although she hadn't punched out. Go somewhere else if you're going to completely ignore me, texting. I sat at the bar, and she was right there in front of me, facing the other way. I waited awhile while she took care of the patrons on each side of me, but wasn't too interested in helping me. They were obviously regulars, but to skip me while I'm sitting right in the middle, no extra chairs, was bad service, It took awhile just to be acknowledged and it took so long to ask if I wanted to order food that I decided to just do an appetizer as I'm sure both would've come out at the same time if I also ordered an entree. It was the end of her shift, and I really got the end of the shift service. Once she was gone I was able to get a drink refill and was treated like I was there. Go take a look at my picture, Am I so hideous that I don't deserve good service? If so, put a sign at the front, "Ugly people will be served, but only after all the beautiful people. Sincerely, Mgmt." I only had the potato skins. The potato part was great with no raw potato, but they could've dispersed the toppings evenly and a little more generously. You can tell where they started to put the toppings on and which one was last. Would you make a pizza by putting all the toppings in the center and not evenly distribute said toppings? An extra 10 seconds of effort would've made them perfect Since I had so much time to myself and was right in front of the margarita handle, I noticed that the handle is absolutely filthy. More than a few shifts worth of dirt buildup. Could've cleaned that up in the amount of time it takes to... send a text. I'll go back. It's not my first time there but it's the first time I've sat at the bar alone. I've left a positive review on my other account which was 5 stars. It was a great place every other time. This time, though, the service was insulting, to say the least, and the handle was nasty. It leaves one to wonder that things out of sight might even be worse? There's no excuse for a dirty handle, especially if there's time to text. I'm writing this hoping that it is t aken seriously and other customers aren't treated like this as I'm sure it's a rare event. You have a great place, and the service energy should match that, even if it's during a shift change. No steps of service were followed. No welcome, no intro, no suggestions, no interaction, no "thank you", just a long wait. Until we meet again.

We didn’t eat there this time, but we’ve eaten there plenty of times in the past and it has always been fabulous. So fun, the food is great drinks are good but usually the music is the entertainment and that’s why I love this place. they have awesome local bands and Their House band is fantastic. Today we had a great experience with the band called last train to Juarez. We really enjoyed our day. I WOULD RECOMMEND

Theres no better place to experience the Steelers outside of 3 rivers stadium. Have a Ben Roethlis-buger medium rare and enjoy all the friendly people and great staff. Be ready to be huggged and high fived by perfect strangers when the Steelers score. Sing along with the polka fight songs. Have a blast.

Me and my friend and his mom were there for the concert for rodney adkins. We came in to eat hours before the show started. We brought some drinks in we intended to have after we ate while we waited in line to get in but once we sat down some lady came and confiscated them. I felt like I was 3 being scolded by my mom. Like we are not allowed to have water. We hadn't even pulled them out when we sat down. They were only intended to be consumed when we left to wait in line. But I guess that wasnt allowed. I must have missed that on the rules and regulations page. The food was ok for bar food. The event wasnt organized no one knew where to go to line up to get in for the show. We had to walk around the building cause we didn't know where we were supposed to line up. They had 2 lines which people had no idea where they were supposed to stand. Again poor planning and poor communication. But once they had people get through the vip line they ended up merging them into the ga line which was stupid and defeated the purpose of having 2 lines. That was just crazy to have people cut into another line in front of other people. Once we got in they has sections off for vip which ok great. But the security allowed people to stand in front of the entrance to that area which was difficult for wait staff to get in and out of there. If your gonna have wait staff bringing food and drinks through there then you need to have an entrance thats not allowed to be blocked off by patrons. It was poorly executed and planned out. I have been to many events and concerts and this was the worst way to execute a show. I definitely wont come back here not to eat or for a concert. Next time you should be informing staff and making signs showing where people are supposed to go for the concert separately from the restaurant/ bar. It helps w the confusion when asking staff where we are supposed to go.

Atmosphere was great. Place was exactly as advertised. Food was decent, BBQ was the best thing on the menu in my opinion. Dancing was fun, and the coach (I wish I could remember his name) was great. This is not a negative in my opinion. The only thing I would say that I was not expecting is how loud it was. Our party was two tables and we could not hear anyone further than two chairs away (we were yelling). Again, not a negative. It was fun. Considering how big and crowded the place was I thought the service was good. Bathrooms were....see previous comment. Thanks!

Well butter my biscuits and call me a cowboy, Harold's Cave Creek Corral is the real deal! From the moment I moseyed on in, I knew I was in for a good ol' time. The ambiance is so authentically Western, I half-expected a tumbleweed to roll past my table (it didn't, but a friendly server did, which was even better!). The food? Let me tell ya, it was tastier than a gold strike! I reckon my tastebuds did a little jig with every bite. And the folks there, both staff and fellow patrons, were friendlier than a Golden Retriever with a new tennis ball. It felt like walking into a saloon where everybody knows your name, even if they've never seen your dusty boots before. The decor is a hoot – I spent a good while just admiring all the bits and bobs that give it that true cowboy charm. And the live music? It had my toes tappin' and my spurs (if I'd been wearing any) jinglin'. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to shout "Yeehaw!" even if you're usually the quiet type. If you're looking for a genuine slice of the Wild West with great grub, toe-tappin' tunes, and a vibe that'll make you feel like you've stepped onto a movie set (but with much better food), then saddle up and head to Harold's. You won't regret it, partner! This place is a true Cave Creek gem. Five stars brighter than a desert night sky!

Nestled in the picturesque town of Cave Creek, The Grotto Cafe is a charming family-owned restaurant that has been serving classic American fare since 2011. The cozy southwestern-style eatery features antique furniture, hand-crafted wood tables and chairs, and bold red-painted walls adorned with vintage decor. Guests can enjoy a variety of American breakfast and lunch options in the colorful counter-serve setting or opt for lush garden seating outdoors.
Sunday lunch was bustling. Perhaps 1 person find seating and the rest line up and place their orders/pay, and take a number. Patio seating is favored on a gorgeous winter sunny day with lots of shade. Inside seating was also packed. There's live entertainment with great cover songs for a sing-along. Nice guitar music, easy to listen to and chat. The young servers are there to bus tables and maybe bring menus to those waiting in the long line. My vegetable sandwich was yummy. The vegetables were chopped up, sautéed, no cheese as requested, and finished with a tasty sauce/butter. The bread was somewhat rustic and had a good texture. The potato chips were from a bag, basic salt, like kettle chips. There was a side of a large pickle. I appreciated the warm vegetable sandwich. It felt fresh made. We were both hungry and chatting, no food photos, only photos of where we sat outside. Its bigger than my photos. Food was served quickly, along with beverages. Servers were attentive, clearing dirty plates, asking if we needed refills or to go containers. All with a smile on a busy day. Parking is ample. It wraps around to the back. Easy to get into and exit. Cave Creek, you have evolved to a thriving place to eat and visit. Bon Apetit!

Lovely place with good food, courteous staff, and a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy a meal. It also offers a naturalistic ambience, adding to the experience. Definitely worth trying if you’re in the area or visiting the Jewel of the Creek hiking trail.

This is still a nice place to sit outside and enjoy food and drinks. It’s quite popular so sometimes parking and seating can be an issue. This time we stopped by for lunch. We had 2 salads, the Monterey with chicken and the Cobb. Both salads were nicely prepared and reasonably sized. But the chicken on each of them was surprisingly tough considering the pieces were diced. There are many other choices that are excellent, both for lunch and breakfast. The patio is dog friendly. And the service was great.

Delicious! One person's food in our party came out kind of late compared to everyone else's. Probably because the service is a lot like Culver's. You order, get a number, and take your drink and number and find a place to sit. They find you once your food is ready. Nice atmosphere. Was easy to visit even with the music.

Such a fun & cool place! The perfect bowl of oatmeal & cup of coffee with a grotto view! We also tried their muffins the next day. They are huge & look amazing but are dense & almost more scone like with not a lot of flavor. I wouldn't recommend those but everything else was great!

The Roadhouse is a laid-back bar and grill with a motorcycle theme, offering typical pub fare and billiards. It has garnered praise for its enjoyable atmosphere, including the popular band MOJO RATS and its outdoor seating arrangement. However, one negative aspect is the overpriced pizza that lacks flavor and quality. Despite this, it remains a recommended spot to visit because of its great food offerings at reasonable prices.
Great place, food, service, location. I will be back. Trina took great care of us. Nice gift shop inside cute shirts and jackets.

Updated Review: Come to find out this place is the problem. I had been drinking and was having a mental medical emergency and the alleged security guard Steven Pedersen drug me from the bar to outside so violently I had major bruising and still have numbness in my hands and wrist. He was trying to force me to leave when I was in no shape to drive. The police were called and he lied about me being violent and tried to get me convicted of assault. This happened in April and I’m still fighting his false allegations after he injured me and endangered my life. These people have no business running a bar. The two day bartenders are great. If I wasn’t trespassed and hadn’t had one of the worst nights of my life here I might return just to see them. The place wasn’t the problem. The food is decent… It needs to be cleaned something fierce. The over use of plastic is horrible for the environment. It can get too loud for such confined quarters. I recommend only going in the day to drink. Please recycle.

We had a nice time listining to the Music and enjoying the Food they offered. Santa was also there. The Food was very good, especially the Carrot Cake. Really nice Bar and this was our 1st visit. We will be back for sure.

There is a live band that is it. Service sucks. Period. Sucks sucks sucks. The bar is separate from the food. They tried to keep my credit card behind the bar? We stopped doing that in the 70's. Wouldn't even dare eat at this place. One beer and out for me. McDonalds is a 10 compared to this dump.

Grabbed a plate of wings.👎 Not good. Dry. Chewy. Overall bad. Wings are not rocket science. 🤔 Why can other bars and bistros have good wings ? Uhm... We have all decided... Come hang out here at the RH, and when we're hungry go somewhere else. Oh... $16 and we left 1/2 of the wings. Sad and disgusting. Also. FYI. We'll pay the price for GOOD food. But obviously not here. Step it up Roadhouse 😵‍💫.

Ordered: onion rings, Mac and cheese bites, and chips and salsa

We head here once a month or so for lunch. We typically order their $7 chicken combo with 3 chicken pieces, fries, a drink and a sundae. We’ve always had good luck with this. The staff is friendly and most of the time the food is piping hot. We both think the DQ French fries are by far the best fast food fries. And of course we occasionally stop by for a Blizzard. So what’s not to like?

Very quaint and convenient local restaurant that had a far more amicable spirit than most fast food located in the center of downtown. Up until very recently it used to run immaculately but now some peculiar perturbation has overcome it and now it runs supremely slowly and in the approximately dozen times I have frequented this summer they have forgotten orders. Hopefully they resolve these prevalent issues soon

Dairy Queen What is your name I asked, James it was. I just have to say some great stuff about him!, and later on, I met Jo and she was fabulous as well. James gave me a lid because I want to give my puppy a little icecream and she loved it. What I noticed about James that when he was waiting on customers, he took the initiative to stay busy. I watched him go outside to clean windows. They really took pride working there as the place was very well groomed. I WOULD RECOMMEND

Very pleasant dining experience, solid service and atmosphere. We like the feel of the location. Food was mixed-spinach dip, tomato and mozzarella salad excellent appetizers, filet and baby back ribs excellent main plates; Asparagus an excellent side. Really enjoyed the ribs! The NY strip and the Prime Rib were more “OK..” So, mixed on the menu. Overall an enjoyable evening!

We had the most amazing experience here with family and friends. The food and service were so good, we came back for another dinner the same week. The menu selection was incredible with so many choices, and every meal was cooked to perfection. But the real highlight was our server, Alex. He was absolutely the BEST server we ever had at a restaurant! Alex was extremely accommodating and had the most fantastic sense of humor. He had us all laughing constantly. We will definitely be coming back on our next visit to Scottsdale.

Great food! The staff is extremely attentive to your needs and requests. You order a cut of beef, rather than simply deliver it to your table, they ask you to check for proper cooking as requested. Do not miss this establishment, it's that good. Reservations recommended as they are always busy.

Nice little steakhouse. Service was friendly. Was seated at table next to bar which was unfortunate as a guy who was a little too friendly, relaxed and obnoxious had a foul mouth and was very loud. Next time will request a table away from bar. It was a little disappointing he was not addresses by bar staff. Food was good. Nice patio would be good during cooler weather. Nice place for a nice meal. No dress code enforced people at bar in middle of restaurant wearing shorts, tank tops and flip flips.

We all went for Mother's Day brunch. Our waitress came to our table right away, bringing water and whatever else we liked. By the way, their iced tea is very good. The food was delicious. You could order omelets from your table, if wanted. Breakfast buffet choices were scrambled eggs, roasted potatoes, green beans, asparagus, and sliced prime rib. Also, a crustacean center of shrimp, lobster, and oysters. Desserts were fantastic. Needless to say, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

Visited Keeler's last week for the first time with a friend and I was very impressed. We had heard about this place from my friends parents and we were glad we decided to go! The service was amazing. Our waitress was super knowledgeable about the menu and very attentive. Our appetizer, drinks, steaks and dessert were fantastic. I will say I got the Mac and cheese and the french onion soup as sides and they definitely lacked luster compared to the rest of the meal. They were just very plain and not what I expected compared to everything else. I loved that the owner visited our table! Made it feel very personal meeting the owner. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience. Will definitely be back when I'm back in the area.

Day 2

West side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the west side side of town. Start the day off with Frontier Town, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Tonto Bar & Grill. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

Frontier Town is a charming reproduction of an Old West town, complete with costumed performers, a restaurant, and gift shops. Located along Cave Creek's main street, it offers visitors a glimpse into the late 1800s gold rush era with its faux Boot Hill cemetery, gallows, rusty-metal horse-drawn wagons, weathered boardwalks, and storefronts.
It’s was a good time it is definitely an artist community. Lots of restaurants we would have stayed longer. The area is easy to walk from shop to shop, but it was 103°. We cut our day short.

You don’t need to pay to get in which is great. When we went not everything was open so we checked out the little shops that were. The parking is a bit limited and a hassle just off the main drag so we had to loop around before we could fit my truck into the space. There was some great photo opportunities and some really nice decor. Souvenir shops a plenty. We saw a road runner in the flesh which was cute. Great tourist place to visit while you’re in the area.
Vikki P — Google review
There was plenty of parking when we went, but I don’t know if this is always the case. There were a lot of unique little shops selling everything from candles, clothing and western wear and plenty of souvenirs for Arizona. This is a great space to pick up any souvenirs and while it is a bit touristy, they do have some nice items in the shops.

Overall, this is a fun little spot to visit, even in the heat of summer! Hard to truly rate a place like this and went with 5-stars for its uniqueness, the public bathrooms, and the fact that it’s free entertainment if you have little ones. We visited in August and in the morning, which I highly recommend. Mid-day, it sounds like a lot of the businesses close for a break because it is so hot in the summer here and there are not a lot of people walking around at that time. We appreciated that this was a mix of local shops and a few local restaurants. Fun way to spend the day! I'll write a few reviews for those specifically that we bought stuff from. If you visit, we hope you enjoy as we did.

Quaint little spot! Great little gift shop called cactus Carlos. Got some good stuff there high quality and yeah you can buy stupid T-shirts there too :-) doesn’t take long to go through and there’s a great Mexican restaurant right across the street but if you’re gonna be in town, stop by

Loved this place! The coffee shop had the best coffee and pastries. All of the little shops were fun to explore and the BBQ was awesome!

My husband and I have visited this store for the past two years when visiting Az. Our first visit we just got done rock hounding for the day and definitely looked the part. We were met with a very friendly staff member who helped us with any questions we had. We ended up purchasing a few items to ship home. Our second visit we were a bit more cleaned up. The reception we received from the staff was the same, very pleasant and helpful. My husband was outside for quite some time picking through all the bins that have some amazing items. We did purchase some stones and jewelry. We did notice a staff member keeping check on us at first the second time we were there but it is understandable. We have always felt welcomed and the lady who helped us during our first visit was the same one who helped us the second time. Some items are a bit pricey but do your homework and shop around. We love this store.

I went with my 2yo daughter to get a gift for a friend. They were all so sweet to my daughter and let her pick out a special rock from their treasure box and put it in her own little bag. She was so excited. Stefi was very knowledgeable and amazing in helping me find a gift for my friend. They have a lot of beautiful pieces there. I even found some gift ideas for Christmas and teacher appreciation.

Hideaway is a renowned biker-friendly spot with an eclectic atmosphere, open-mic nights, and a menu featuring delicious sandwiches. It has gained global fame for hosting prominent custom bike builders and motorcycle personalities. Referred to as Arizona's top biker bar, it attracts visitors from all walks of life, including celebrities and motorcycle royalty. The place offers a laid-back ambiance with great outdoor seating but limited indoor space.
The Hideaway is just a fabulous place to hang out and be around a great biker community. They also have good food. I highly recommend their pizza and mozzarella sticks! And to top it off - always great live music!!! Always Amazing!
Lia L — Google review
I’m not really into the biker scene, but I live nearby and had heard great things about the food, so I decided to give it a try. The burger and fries were outstanding—definitely lived up to the hype. That said, the ordering process was a bit confusing; you have to step into a small room next to the kitchen and place your order directly with the cook. The service wasn't exactly welcoming, and without the leather and helmet, I definitely felt like an outsider. Still, the food was good enough to make it worth the visit.
Eddie N — Google review
You'll feel like a local Creeker when you pull up to the bar at The Hideaway. Dawn, our bartender, has been working there for 20 years and definitely knows her frequent locals well. Dollar bills, photos, stickers, and knick knacks cover every inch of walls and ceiling. It's a cool, laid-back hangout. I haven't tried any food but a full bar with lots of can and bottle offers. The Hideaway opened in 1998 to let bikers escape the city with a beautiful desert drive and drinks. It has become a well-known spot for locals and bikers from across the country. Bike week in Cave Creek is huge, and the Hideaway is the place to be!

This place isn't really known for its food. It's a dive bar and a really good one. It has live music and is popular with the biker crowd. The bartenders are great and friendly. The merch is great, too. This place is a landmark in Cave Creek and definitely worth going even if you don't ride.

We went there with my wife few days ago and and we got charged $31 for 2 rail vodkas and 1 Jack & coke. The receipts that we got is for 5 drinks and the one of them was from 3 hours earlier. We've been going to this place for almost 4 years now and that was the 2nd time that something like this happened. I spoke with a manager a couple of days ago, I sent him the receipts and he agreed that something is wrong and he will take care of it. No one wants to make a scene when receiving the bill, but it feels weird when this things happening. I hope that we won't face the same issue on the future. Thanks

It's always a good time. I tried the corndog & fries basket, and it was good, especially after a long ride to the Hideaway somewhere in Cave Creek. The Kiltlifter was cold $8 & Titos flowed favorably. The bartender enjoyed my fries 🍟 lol. The live music 🎶 was very good and they played a wide variety of well-known songs. The cook was very nice and helpful in pointing me to the condiments (napkins were out). No worries, as another dispenser was right where you order. The Golden Retriever House dog 🐕 was super cuddly and nice. The fire 🔥 pits were warm and did the job perfectly.

Tonto Bar & Grill is a Southwestern-focused restaurant and bar located in Cave Creek, offering contemporary American cuisine with Southwest influences. The rustic space overlooks the Rancho Manana Golf Course, providing stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The menu emphasizes sustainable, locally sourced ingredients and features a variety of unique options that change often. The restaurant's warm and cozy interiors exude an old-school lodge feel with traditional Native Indian patterns adorning the upholstered furniture.
We had a great meal. We were a group of 9 celebrating a couple of birthdays. Our server Brooke was great. They have a number of vegan options and can give you a menu with just the vegan or gluten free options. The vegan relleno was really good and unique. The blacked tofu was very tasty.

Absolute gem. I was a bit disappointed when my group chose to eat here instead of venturing into Cave Creek but the Spanish southwestern ambiance and delicious and elevated dishes were lovely to look at and lovelier to eat. The calamari was some of the best ive ever had due to the picked sweet pea tomatoes sprinkled on top and my perfect accompaniment; spicy aoli. The summer salad with goat cheese and strawberries was fresh, bright, and delicious. The schnitzel (apparently a 10 year favorite and menu staple) and red cabbage with neon butter caper sauce was delivious and elevated and executed very well. If there was any downside, its that their price reflects their quality.
Carl D — Google review
Homey feel inside and a nice outdoors seating in back. Food is good with their own take of upscale tastes of a western flare. Sometime too much spice. I had scallops that were served with a sweet potato mash with a Chipotle drizzle. Brussel Sprouts and fingerling potatoes all in the spicy potatoes mash. Too much heat.

Located in Hilton Vacation Club Rancho Manana Phoenix, Cave Creek. We have a table outside, and a backyard is a golf course. Our server was polite and pleasant. We're a total of four of us, Lunch Special Tacos, 2 of Shrimp Terra Cotta, Pork Osso Bucco, Four-Seed Baguette, and drinks. The taste was good. My taco was full of fresh vegetables, and the pork was tender. It was a little expensive for lunch, but it was a cozy place.

BFF and I celebrated her birthday at Tonto Bar & Grill mid afternoon/mid week outside patio... Beautiful view, calm receptive service, and environment with Rose, named aptly, providing superior service. Recommending dishes on the menu, (which have remained patron favs for over 30 years) proved to be stellar selections. Recommending the nonalcoholic drinks paired with fish, yummy, wallaby, and more! Added to the fish plates, a light sauce, and sautéed vegies. Surprise, Birthday mini cake! Yes, we will visit again! Thank you, Rose 🌹.

One and done Never going back The menu on line is not the actual menu for lunch Signage is bad could not find the place at first and parking is very tight width wise. The building is old and desperately needs updating. The Air conditioning does not cool off the dining area enough and the units are on the roof and vibrate and shake the tables. The food is decent but way over priced and not much food on the plate. Had $46.00 halibut there was nothing else on the plate except the tiniest 3 tomatoes I've ever seen. It's a rather dark and depressing atmosphere needs a major face lift. Obviously they don't put money back into the property it's a very old tired building. Service was good but not enough to ever want to go back

Overall a great experience and good food. However, going with 4-stars because it was a little pricey for the portions. We started with the Three Sisters Salsa & Guac. Very good! We really enjoyed the variety of flavors and chips. We also tried a few mocktails. Both were delicious but the Rhubarb Citrus Soda was a favorite. For my main meal, I went with a Caesar Salad w/Tenderloin. It was good but lacking in the tenderloin area for how much extra it was. Oh well! I still enjoyed the meal. Service was great too! Don't want to forget that. If you visit, I hope you enjoy as much as we did.

Renowned for its delectable Native American fry bread, this hidden gem offers a delightful culinary experience. The menu features mouthwatering tacos with freshly fried shells filled with your choice of chicken or beef, all topped off with crisp lettuce and juicy tomatoes.
I came solely for the navajo taco, but the guacamole is some of the tastiest I've ever had. The navajo taco and fry bread live up to the hype, and the staff are super friendly and helpful. This is a humble place with a cute little gift shop, and more people should come check it out.

This place deserves a rave review on every level! I thought I had done a review on this place every time we've gone, but apparently, I kept forgetting. The owner is an absolute hoot to meet, and all the food we have had so far has been beyond my imagination every time! Last time, I mistakenly got myself addicted to their horchatta, lol. Oh my goodness, divine! Best I've ever had! The chimichanga practically melted in my mouth and the flat bread...well, it's perfect every time. Very authentic and finger licking good! My friend has been going there for over 20 years, and it's the same she remembers and never disappoints. They create nostalgic memories.

We walked in about 30 minutes before closing. We hated to do it, but we weren't going to be back anytime soon, so we decided we would eat quickly and leave so they could get to their lives. The food came quickly, and we learned as fast that the owners' confidence was not unfounded. The Chimichanga was one of the best I have ever had! The Horchata was delicious! It truly was, in his words, a treat. The kitchen employees were very nice despite our late arrival, but we successfully finished before the closing bell and went on our way. It's definitely worth coming to check out! The inside is very cool and looks like a true western saloon. Nice size outdoor patio with shade as well. The food was good! Would absolutely recommend the Miss Kitty Chicken Sandwich w/ the Prickly Pear Cactus nectar. Delicious! Portions were good sizes, too. Overall, the menu looked really good! Ordered their Prickly Pear Margherita, and it was fine. Small compared to other places but tasted great. If you're in or coming to Cave Creek, you can't go wrong with Stumblina's!

My family and I decided to go to stumblina’s because it was the only place open in the area but it ended up being really good! We started with the bbq sliders and the fried pickles which were both fantastic, and the Shirley temple I ordered was made amazingly. And for the entree I decided to go for the pork tacos which were also great and tasted high quality. Our server mike was extremely friendly and helpful and helped us decide what to get for appetizers and entrees. Overall Stumblina’s was an amazing restaurant and I will definitely return in the future.

Quaint little bar style cantina nestled in cave creek mountains with the small town feel. We enjoyed the food. Each dish we had was tasty. Nothing was a standout favorite. Well.. we were looking for a restaurant we have not been to before in Cave Creek and "Stumbled" into Stumblina's. A pleasant surprise. The atmosphere was nice and welcoming . Our server Sydney greeted us with a smile and was pleasant and fun. She was great. We landed on a Tuesday and took advantage of the Taco Tuesday special for $10 (3 giant tacos) and $5.00 Margherita were fantastic. We highly recommend this eating establishment.

Wasn’t planning on eating here but a friend was hungry so we figured why not. I was in shock when I saw it had 4.2 stars after eating the food! Every thing we ordered was great and the old fashion I had was on another level!! Our server was Elizabeth who was amazing! She was so accommodating for my best friends autistic son and she never missed a beat, always had a full drink even though I never got it below 3/4 empty. Thank you Elizabeth for making our experience unforgettable!
Jensen D — Google review
The food is extremely good along with excellent service. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the bar drinks are quit weak, such as both their specialty drinks and Margaritas taste like lemonade. I'm by no means a heavy drinker although did have 3 drinks that evening and never even experienced a buzz! For me not being much of a drinker that was highly unusual. I should have mentioned this to the server although she was so nice and kind I didn't want to cause any issues or disrespect.

After spending a few hours hiking we were starving and in the look out for some where local that was still serving breakfast but also lunch options for the half of us that preferred lunch. We stumbled across Local Jonny’s and the vibe felt right. The parking lot looks small from the front, but there is a good size lot in the back for more space . They offer both inside and outside seating which is a plus. Upon entering there was a sign directing us to a hostess station to dine in. There are two different doors so depending where you come in you may end up at the coffee counter. Right away I was pleased to see they offer Firecreek Coffee which I love and is local to Arizona. It’s a must stop when in Sedona etc. We were greeted pretty quick and taken to our table. It took quite a while for a server to take our drink order or greet us, but we weren’t in too much of a hurry. Once we had our drinks our server disappeared again and we sat and sat. Once she arrived she did apologize at which point we were starving so we hurried and ordered. Our table ordered biscuits and gravy, BLT, eggs bacon and toast and another side of biscuits and gravy with extra sausage on the side. Our food came out fairly quick and was plated well. My eggs were a little overcooked, but ok. My daughter enjoyed her biscuits and gravy and the BLT had a good amount of bacon. It was crispy and delicious. My latte was made perfect as well as the chais my daughter and niece ordered. All in all it was a good stop. The biggest complaint was the service being pretty MIA through out our visit. Although that stinks I also got the vibe that this was a laid back no hurry kinda place. Either way we left full and happy. If you’re impatient you may be less happy.

Our favorite! We love Local Johnny’s. We just finished breakfast for four plus our dog, and we were very comfortable on the outdoor patio with the misters going, even with the July heat! The service is incredible and we loved having Joey as our server - her energy and attentiveness made our breakfast so lovely. Can’t wait to come back!

I had the best experience this morning. I was greeted by the biggest beautiful smile and warmest welcome by Joey when I walked in. Then Natalie, the barista, was incredibly sweet and helped me with my order. I wasn’t sure what I wanted so she made the perfect suggestion of an Iced Vanilla Honey Latte that was perfection. I also ordered a Cobb Salad to go that came out with a beautiful presentation and tasted amazing! I have to give all of the staff a 10/10 for making my day today! Thank you LJ’s family for consistently being amazing and for the delicious food.
Sara H — Google review
Honestly, food and service were great - nice, friendly, and kind people and great tasting food too - but I can’t stand behind a company who thinks it’s okay to have unisex bathrooms, with two stalls, allowing male and females in the same bathroom at the same time. Although the sign does say “lock door for privacy” that doesn’t help the situation at all. People have young kids who are responsible enough to take themselves to the bathroom at restaurants but now they have to be treated like little kids again everywhere they go to make sure there are no predators in the bathroom when they go because places like this that have unisex bathrooms. It’s a disgusting and disgraceful thing to have in an establishment and I cannot rate this place higher than a one star because of it. We will not be coming back and definitely recommending people to avoid going here.
Jenna H — Google review
Great experience, the waiter had a great sense of humor and the food was excellent. I ordered the fish tacos and they tasted just like fish which is a great thing. If you would happen to order fish and it tastes like something else that could be bad. But that isn't the case at Local Jonny's. We sat outside and there were a few javelinas that walked on the street past which we didn't eat probably due to the fact they were still alive and maybe they don't even taste that great. But this place is a good place to eat. Some of the others had a burger which was great, and someone got the nachos with chicken and they are good too. Last but not least but someone got the chicken quesadilla.

Horseback riding service
Stable
Cave Creek Trail Rides offers a 2-hour scenic horseback ride through stunning landscapes. The horses are well-trained and cared for, and the staff is highly praised for their kindness and knowledge. Visitors appreciate the easy-to-follow instructions provided in the confirmation email. Even when weather conditions required rescheduling, the staff was proactive in ensuring a smooth transition. Guests commend the accommodating and patient nature of the team, particularly in providing directions to those who may have gotten lost on their way to the center.
Such an amazing experience! The staff was not only super knowledgeable but also made the ride so much fun. All the gear was in great condition, and the trail itself was absolutely stunning. The horses were the sweetest, so well cared for, and had the best personalities. Getting to feed them treats before the ride was such a special touch! Definitely enjoyed every moment and would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a great trail ride.

A wonderful experience. My daughter and I did the 1.5 hour sunset ride and it was spectacular. Our guide was Lance, and he was lovely and gave us lots of information on the trek, also making sure everyone was OK. He gave us a choice of two trails, recommending one but explaining it had some higher trails, but we all voted for this and we were so glad we did. The sunset views were just fantastic. The horses are clearly well cared for and the staff and guides matched riders according to their experience and the horses' personalities. The staff were all very friendly and chatted with us about what to expect, asking us questions about our experience too. Lance checked in with us all throughout the ride and offered great advice to the less experienced riders. Having not ridden for a while I was stiff the day after, but it was definitely worth it. We were so glad we chose Cave Creek, enjoyed every minute of the experience, and would definitely recommend them no matter what your level of riding ability

An absolute wonderful experience../Cora was great and continuously provided us with information on the wildlife and desert plants… apart from that, she did a wonderful job of ensuring our safety throughout the ride. Couldn’t have been any better! I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a great place for trail riding! She also took some amazing pictures! 5 Stars all the way!

We booked a trail ride for today early morning. Our guide, Allison, was excellent. We had a complete novice rider in our threesome but the horses were patient and kind. The views of the terrain are wonderful. I have been not been riding for awhile, but this was a real treat. I highly recommend this business and the folks who run it. We had a great time! Thank you! 🤗

My family (4 adults and 2 teens) did the 1.5 hour sunset ride! The corral was awesome they have hats, boots and chaps for use if interested! The horses were very well mannered and fairly easy to ride, even for beginners. The guides go over all the details ahead of time and ensure your safety during the trip, if you feel uncomfortable they will refund you 100%. Our guide took us on a trail that went up and around the mountain side. Gorgeous trails and even better views! We got the most amazing photos! I would definitely book this adventure again. If you love a good sunset this is the trip for you!

I did a trail ride with my sister today and it was great! Kade was our guide and he did an amazing job making us feel comfortable and safe. It was my sister’s first time riding a horse but he explained everything really well and checked in throughout the whole ride. We will definitely come back!
Theresa T — Google review
We had an amazing time on the one-hour sunset trail ride! The staff was both personable and professional, providing clear and informative instructions prior to the ride. They gave a thorough overview of how to mount, dismount, guide, and ride the horses with safety tips so we felt comfortable and confident going into the ride. The views were stunning and the ride went at a nice pace. It felt like more than an hour and was well worth every penny spent! We really enjoyed our time and hope to come back in the future.

INCREDIBLE experience! We had 6 young kids and 2 adults on the ride. They gave us two guides to help us and never once did I feel we were not safe. The guides, Cameron and Makenna were AMAZING with the kids and made the ride so fun and helped them with all their riding needs. The trail has beautiful mountain/desert views. This was a memory of a lifetime. I definitely recommend to anyone who is thinking of trying somewhere to ride horses.

State Parks
Cave Creek Regional Park is a vast 2,922-acre desert park offering a variety of activities. It features winding multi-use trails, campgrounds, and picnic spots. The park's diverse landscape ranges from 2,000 to 3,063 feet in elevation and showcases stunning sunrises and sunsets. Visitors can explore historical sites dating back to the 1870s when gold seekers ventured into the rugged mountains.
Close to Phoenix, a great campground. Large sites, although there's little privacy, plenty of scrub brush and cacti. Park seemed very well maintained, clean and brushed. Staff friendly and helpful. The only potential downside is that the Cave Creek Rodeo is nearby and the lights and sound were noticeable. Not annoying, but distracting. Seemed to be plenty of trails around. Recommended!

Neat little park in the middle of the desert. The gal at the front gate/check point was incredibly friendly and helpful. The ranger/host driving around in the golf cart, was NOT! He was contraindicting the gal that gave us specific directions. Then the day we left, he was circling our camper 20 minutes before check out. Which we were out on time. But we observed him doing this all week to the residents on the day of move out. We did make it up to the visitors center, a fun and interesting little walk through. The playground is pretty awesome!

Great campground. The sites are big and spread out. They have hot showers and flush toilets. Beautiful Views of the mountains and cactus all around. Very quiet and peaceful. We had wood fires every night. Very close to Cave Creek and Carefree, beautiful town. We will come back for sure.

I didn’t mind this park at all, it was easy to find & navigate. We camped at the campground which has large sites for our trailer and truck to park side by side. Sites were clean, spacious and spread out enough on our end so we weren’t constantly exposed to our neighbours. There wasn’t much shade coverage but the temperature this time of the year didn’t require it in the same way it would hotter months. There are plenty of hiking trails though we only completed the slate trail with the Michelin man saguaro. See my review of said trail if you’re interested. You pay a fee to enter or to use the campground. The washrooms and showers were clean, im just not a fan of the push button showers as they require constant button mashing to ensure the water doesn’t stop on you mid wash. The park rangers were kind and welcoming. It’s a very quiet park and we had no concerns. I only give less than five stars because I felt it was expensive compared to other state parks for what you get. We did have full water and electric. Sites are paved and pretty level. I would have stayed longer but it booked up so fast I didn’t have a chance to secure another site. Also love that it’s close to cave creek- a nice place to visit. Oh and though there’s a gate- you are given an access code so you can return after hours to your site without concern.

This is a Beautiful Park. The RV sites are spaced out far from each other. The bathrooms are clean. The landscape is very Beautiful! Great price for camping!

If you are from the valley or up north just wanting a quiet get away with amazing sunsets, clean bathrooms and just detachment, this is for you. Close to everything near Cave Creek 10 day stay and just kept asking myself "what do I have to do today? Nothing!"

Cave Creek Regional Park has quickly become one of our absolute favorite outdoor destinations in the northern region. Spanning a vast expanse, this park offers an impressive variety of trails suitable for all skill levels, ranging from leisurely strolls to challenging treks. Whether you're an avid hiker, mountain biker, or trail runner, this park is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. Open year-round, the park's natural beauty captivates visitors in every season. One of our personal favorites is the Go John Trail, which meanders through the rugged and awe-inspiring Sonoran Desert. Along the way, you'll encounter numerous scenic vistas that beckon you to pause and soak in the breathtaking desert landscape. The pinnacle of the trail, the summit, offers a rewarding conclusion to your journey. As you reach the peak, you're greeted with panoramic views that stretch across the expansive desert, serving as a majestic reminder of nature's grandeur. It's a truly unforgettable experience that makes every step of the hike worthwhile.

$7 to enter the park, but worth every penny. The gate attendant gave me a detailed, useful, and informative map of the park printed on both sides of a regular piece of printer paper. Lots of paved parking at the trailhead. Fantastic bathrooms with flushing toilets, real sinks with soap, electric hand dryers, and electric lighting at the trailhead. The men's room I used was very clean and smelled like cleaning products at 4pm on a Sunday afternoon. There are very nice picnic areas if you want to sit and eat something before or after your hike. The trails I went on were very well maintained, very well marked, and not at all overgrown. There was no litter anywhere that I saw. I think the $7 pay wall may keep away some of rif raf that likes to leave toilet paper and food wrappers on the trail (you know who you are) and generally keeps the parking and trails from getting overcrowded. You can easily navigate around all the trails in the park with just the map they give you and the trail signs. I didn't see anywhere that the trail became feint, no way finding skills required. The particular hike I did was a nice back and forth mix of uphill and downhill. A large part of the trail was fairly smooth, not very rocky and not a lot of high steps. There were a few rocky spots on the north side of the loop, but even those were pretty mild. I would classify this as pretty easy hike if the distance fine for you. Huge shout out to the people who manage and work at the park! They're doing a great job and clearly care about their work.

Golf course
Dove Valley Ranch Golf Club is a top-notch golf course in Cave Creek, rivaling the best in the area. The natural beauty of the facility, highlighted by a large pond at its center, enhances the overall playing experience. With well-maintained transition areas, fairways, and player-friendly contoured greens, even beginners can enjoy their game here.
Great track, played 2/1/2025, fantastic shape, greens are holding well, fairways are in good repair, staff was friendly and pace of play was right at 4 hours.
Steven L — Google review
Did not know what to expect. Have been coming to Scottsdale for the last 20+ years for our golfing. We decided to give Dove Valley a try and it didn't disappoint at all. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Conditions were acceptable for the month of May...much better than other courses. Front nine straight forward where you can grip it and rip it. Back nine a bit tricky with a few blind shots. Overall, highly recommend and Dove Valley will stay on our play list moving forward!
Spiro T — Google review
Dove Valley Ranch offers a great blend of scenic beauty and playability. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., the course flows naturally through the desert landscape with a nice mix of challenging and forgiving holes. It’s approachable for beginners but still keeps experienced golfers engaged. The greens are well maintained, and the overall feel of the course is laid back. It’s one of those courses where you can have a solid round of golf without feeling like you’re fighting the layout the entire way.
Cole N — Google review
We played Dove Valley and really thought highly of the course. The views were really great and the conditions were also awesome. The greens were lightning fast and rolled so smoothly. The course had some weird holes and that was maybe the downside of the course was the blind tee shots. There were maybe 4 holes or so that I think would be a lot nicer if they would open up some of the brush in the way. Overall a really good experience and my 7 year made his first Eagle!!
Zach H — Google review
Excellent course, Conditions were great, as good or better than they should be for being in the dead of summer. The back 9 has some interesting holes that are bit odd and challenging. The service from the cart girls constantly ensuring we were taken care off and the mango towels my wife loved. I played terrible, but the course was great. only gripe was the group in front of us, was holding up 2 groups.

Great course. I really enjoyed myself. Nice fairways with great greens!!! Can't wait to play there again! Amazing early morning back 9 on Friday! Still love in this course still a great time. 9 holes 6:09 in the morning for $29 a person can't beat that!!

Great course in good condition. Also has driving range & chipping/putting greens.

Gorgeous course. Ita tough with Phoenix having so many nice course for me to give this an honest review. Lots of long Par 5s and bare refuse. Be careful and be sure to bring extra balls. Clubhouse is nice and they have a restaurant. Bathrooms were clean. Periodic water stations were empty which was frustrating.

Rancho Manana Golf Club is a must-visit for golf enthusiasts, offering a distinctive desert golfing experience. The 18-hole course is situated in a high-elevation setting surrounded by hills and sparse vegetation, providing an uninterrupted skyline. The well-maintained fairways, cacti-studded landscape, dramatic elevation changes, and strategic layout make it suitable for both amateur and professional players.
Super friendly people…..The concourse bartender was super awesome and knowledgeable. The course layout was sooo fun and the views were so incredible. It was a mix between dessert and mountain golf. Definitely top 3 best courses that I’ve ever played. I can’t speak highly enough about this track! I played 4 courses while in Arizona. Here are my rankings: 1. Rancho Manana 2. Lookout Mountain 3. The Phoenician 4. TPC Championship Course
Woods F — Google review
My favorite course in the Valley. Staff is awesome, rangers are friendly, everyone comes out here to just have a good time. Views are great. It's a shorter course even from the back tees, but the target-golf aspect makes up for it. Have fun, drink some beers, and bring a couple extra sleeves of balls.
Isaac J — Google review
I have played all 3 Hilton golf courses and this one is somewhat confusing for a first timers. The views are nice and there were a couple of holes where I had no ideas where I should be aiming. Left flag or right flag on par 3. Left fairway or right fairway on par 5. Other than that, it is a fun course. My favorite is still the Boulder at the other Hilton golf properties. But I will return if I find good deals at teeoff.com Cooler: yes Ice machine: no Comfort station: clean and well positioned
Angela W — Google review
First time playing this course. Wanted to come scout it out because we are supposed to be having a group outing here in a few weeks. Only reason I’m giving it a star is because of the layout and views. The greens are unplayable. When we asked the maintenance crew about it they said “oh we just punched 11 days ago.” The condition out there is not from aerification, the greens are gone. It costs as many Troon points to play here as it does Troon North. Don’t waste your money or points.
Brennon S — Google review
Incredible quiet location. Room was top notch. Bit of a drive from Phoenix, though right in the cute community if Carefree with tons of restaurants and shops close by. Would highly recommend!
Mark C — Google review
An awesome round of golf! First time playing here and was impressed. The front 9 layout is spectacular as you ascend, play along the side, and then descend down a mountain. Beautiful holes and views throughout the whole course! The starter advised us it's "target golf" here. It's 100% true. Very narrow fairways and little room around the small greens. Bring extra balls or be dialed in! The scorecards have a hint sheet on it with tips for each hole, which was super helpful as first timers here. Overall, the layout and staff were excellent. Cart girl came plenty of times, too. The course was overall in great condition for May. Can't wait to come back again!

Italian restaurant
Oregano's is a delightful family-friendly Italian restaurant that brings the essence of Chicago-style cuisine to life. With its inviting atmosphere and spacious patio featuring lawn games, it’s perfect for both dining in and take-out, especially when hosting gatherings. The generous portions ensure you leave satisfied without breaking the bank. Visitors rave about the attentive service from friendly staff members who go above and beyond to enhance your experience. Cleanliness is a priority here, making it a great choice for families with little ones.
Went for my Sister's Birthday. We had a lovely time, our waitress was amazing & told us about her favorites. We had the Huge Chicken Parmasean...bring your appetite. Their not kidding it's 2 (two) breaded Chicken breast, covered in sauce & mozzarella. Served on a bed of fettuccine noodles with sauce. It was delicious. Sister had the Pablo Salad. Again bring your appetite, that salad was enough for two people. I had thought about getting the Ceasar Salad & I dare not even think about the Big one. Better to probably stick to the regular. Garlic bread was good, though for my garlic loving family it was short on garlic. Though I've never had garlic bread anywhere that's as good as what I make at home. Overall it was a great time, good service, great company & good food. We like the Happy Hour Menu, the Nachos sound very interesting. We'll be back!

Got carry out tonight. We LOVE Oregano’s, and have never been disappointed with their food. We have dined in, and done carry out and we love what they offer to the area. A local favorite for sure, check them out! My recommendations are that their take out area be moved as it does create a good amount of foot traffic at the front of the establishment, and parking should be expanded.

As a Chicagoan, I’d heard great things about Oregano’s, and they did not disappoint. Was surprised at the huge portions and the great quality pizza and pasta. Staff was super nice and hospitable. Highly recommend!

Oregano's in Cave Creek is 💯 amazing. Kristin was our server, and she did a fantastic job. She was very kind and helpful. Checked on us regularly. The food was Delicious!! The portions were large, and the prices were small. Everything was PHENOMENAL!! Wish we could eat more, but we are full. WE WENT BACK ,the day after. This time, we tried their pizza. Mckenzie was our server, and she did a phenomenal job. She checked on us frequently, and she was so kind and super friendly. The pizza was really, really good. We got thin crust, which we love. They have a thick crust as well. We love this place.

Most of you have probably been to an Oregano’s before so I’m going to focus on specifics of this location (with the exception of pictures of the menu because it seems like a new menu but I’m not 100% sure). This location was very clean which we appreciated! Especially the high chair for our little one. So many restaurants don’t bother cleaning the high chairs and leave it to the parents so we really appreciate it when we see clean high chairs. Everyone we interacted with here was friendly. Love it. Thank you all 🙏 Only comment on food is, just try the Pazzookie 😂 In general, this is a great Oregano’s location! Enjoy 🙌

Keith the manager was very welcoming as soon we entered through the front door. Though I was just passing through, I opted to sit at the bar instead of getting a table. Again, Keith kindly guided to back where the bar was. The bar tender was also welcoming and very friendly and quickly poured me a beer of my choice. I ordered the Pablo salad. It's so good! I like the cave Creek area, so if you are here and want a quiet atmosphere with top notch service, I would recommend this place highly.

One thing about visiting the Cave Creek area during the off season is the restaurants aren't filled to capacity. We were able to get in and order quickly with the help of Macy or server. We ordered various items like the Mac N Cheese bowl and my new favorite the Clark St Pizza Special 14 inch. Everything was served hot and delicious. The restaurant had a lot of yesteryear memorabilia all over the dining area. Although it was only a few of patrons there that night I could see it as the place to go if in a large group setting. Worth the consideration!

Pizza restaurant
Ray's Famous Pizza Cave Creek is a well-established eatery in New York style pizza, and they also offer sandwiches, Italian dishes, and salads. It provides an authentic taste of the renowned cuisine found in the big Apple state. Opting for a crispy crust complemented by a lightly applied sauce is highly recommended for their pizzas. Additionally, their Sicilian pizza is worth trying out. The friendly staff members ensure a pleasant dining experience, and the restaurant itself maintains cleanliness with ample seating arrangements.
If you're craving a true New York slice, look no further than Ray’s Pizza! The moment you step inside, you're greeted with the mouthwatering aroma of freshly baked dough and bubbling cheese. Their thin, perfectly crisp crust sets the foundation for each slice, while the rich tomato sauce and generous layers of gooey cheese remind you why New York-style pizza is unmatched. Whether you're a purist who sticks to a classic cheese slice or someone who likes to experiment with their delicious variety of toppings, Ray’s has something for everyone. The service is always friendly, the atmosphere is laid-back, and the slices are big enough to fold—just like a proper New York pizza should be. Don’t miss out on this gem!
Stacy O — Google review
The pizza is good for the area but if I’m comparing it to real New York pizza it would just be okay. If you’re looking for pizza and you’re in the area it’s going to satisfy the craving but doesn’t win any awards!
William M — Google review
If you like legit, New York style pizza with zero flop, this place is for you. I am a big fan of very hot pizza and also a crust that is firm that does not flop at all and Ray's fits the bill perfectly here. They sell by the pie and by the slice and have a very doable lunch special.

I’ve never had authentic New York style pizza from the big Apple state, but I imagine this is as close as you’re gonna get. Crispy crust with a lightly applied sauce is the way to go for any pizza. Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area is a stunning 2,154-acre protected space located just half an hour north of Phoenix. This beautiful natural area features rugged hills adorned with saguaro cacti, ancient petroglyphs, and lush riparian areas along Cave Creek. During wet seasons, the waterways offer a breathtaking sight as water rushes through the desert.
It is absolutely a beautiful hike. It has a well-maintained trail. My my 5-year-old nephew did it just fine and their grandma also did it just fine, My dog loved it as well. Her tail couldn't stop wagging

A wonderful variety of trails through a remarkably diverse terrain. There is something here for everyone. The trails also connect to trails in the adjacent national forest. I was surprised by the $3 cash only admission fee for 16 & over.
Mike G — Google review
We were looking for a nice day hike that could accommodate our 11 family members ranging from an almost-4-old to an 85-year-old. This hike fit the bill perfectly. The stately saguaro cacti were everywhere, and the trail itself was well-maintained and easy to navigate. There were a few steep declines along the way, which became inclines on the return, but those who needed to do so just took it slowly and stopped to rest as needed. At the trailhead by the office, the ranger, Kevin, gave a fascinating presentation to the kids involving tarantulas and scorpions. He completely held their attention...not an easy feat 2 days post Christmas! As always, be sure to bring plenty of water. Bottled water is sold at the entrance for $1.

I really enjoyed hiking the trails in this park. Plenty of nature to see and the trails are easy. Well worth the 3 dollar entry fee. The little pond where the former ranch well used to be attracts all kinds of wildlife.

Nice trail. A little hilly. We went to Metate. Couple miles round trip.
Jim S — Google review
Wow! I didn’t even know this trail existed until a friend took me here for a hike. The level of intensity was mild- hardly any incline. We did a 5 mile loop and it was invigorating. Yes- wear Trail shoes or hiking boots. Take plenty of water. And- this park also has horseback riding for a fee. It was $3 per person to enter the park! On a gorgeous Saturday- the trail wasn’t too busy! Awesome to take a break in nature. There are plenty of benches on the trail with magnificent views. 5 Stars.
Michelle L — Google review
There are unimproved trails of various ease and difficulty, also ALWAYS bring water and use common sense. The trails provide a look into the past, as well as a view of so many beautiful cacti, including Cholla, Prickly Pear, Barrel and of course Saguaro. The gently flowing Cave creek is something you don't expect to see in the desert. Hiking here is definitely worth it.
Donna M — Google review
This is a great hike! In the winter, Cave Creek actually has water in it. Hike is very easy going and there are a couple of loops to choose from. Pets are allowed, just pick up after them. The kids all had a great time. This is a terrific spot nearby that everyone in the family can enjoy. There's horse riding available. I didn't get the prices, but lots of people were doing it. I think they were using horses on the Elephant trail, which is one that goes into the mountains that is not maintained. I had a great time. It's a fun and relaxing walk with amazing sunsets. Right now in the winter time it's not too hot. It's a perfect time to take everyone in the family out for a nice walk. I would choose this over other trails because it's great for the novice hiker.

Nature preserve
Jewel of the Creek Preserve is a 26.6-acre desert oasis in Cave Creek, Arizona, known for its lush vegetation and diverse landscape. Unlike typical desert locations, this preserve boasts more trees and greenery due to the irrigation from Cave Creek. Visitors can enjoy scenic views of exotic wildlife, winding creeks, and various hiking paths. The area offers opportunities for nature walks, birdwatching, and observing native plant and animal species in their natural habitat.
Outstanding, quiet, extra parking further up. Well maintained trail. Good family outing, easy exploration. The creek below was colorful with yellow, gold leaves changing colors and the wind rustling through sounding like water trickling. Discovered a cave like do not enter abandoned old mine opening. The creek was dry with a small puddle under a narrow walking plank like bridge. Enjoy the fields of old saguaro cacti interspersed with cholla ( jumping) cacti. The hills/mountain makes a nice backdrop. We went on Dragonfly trail. Water, hat, sunscreen is your friend. We didn't need hiking sticks, just good shoes. Some rugged fun moments ✨️ 💕 💖

What a beautiful trail!! If any trail we've ever hiked in Arizona screams Arizona diversity, this is it! Trail is very well kept and easy to navigate. The variety of landscape here is impressive! You go from high desert to the low washes with grass and mature trees. At this time of year the vegetation was blooming and it was very awesome to see in person! Definitely 10 out of 10 for a easy hiking trail for the family! Easily done with our 3-year-old. $3 parking fee on the honor system. The box was located further down the road at the larger parking lot.

The trail hike is truly pleasant and easy, winding through the unique vegetation of a dry forest. There’s an abundance of bird species for those interested in photography or simply enjoying the morning chorus. Definitely worth trying if you’re in the area.

While visiting Phoenix, we decided to explore Jewel of the Creek Preserve for a short hike—and it was exactly what we were looking for. As outsiders, we were truly amazed by the saguaro cacti. Seeing them up close, towering over the landscape, was a unique experience in itself. The trail doesn’t have a lot of variety in terms of terrain or major landmarks, but it offers what we came for—a peaceful walk surrounded by different kinds of desert cacti. It’s a simple, quiet trail that gives you a genuine feel for the Sonoran Desert. If you’re looking for a short, cactus-filled nature walk just outside the city, this is a great stop.

So beautiful. Has some nice easy trails for those who are not avid hikers. Lots of saguaro and shade along the way.

Love this hike. Not too difficult, great for kids with lots of rock climbing. Parking is limited at the entrance but there are signs saying there is more parking further away. I’ve always gotten a spot close but it’s usually the last spot.

Really nice trail to go, it’s not hard at all, and u can do a longer one(2.2 extra miles) Really nice to watch birds. I’d recommend to go in the early morning so there won’t be much people. Plenty place to park.

Easy, relaxing hike with several routes to take. Was not aware next to reserve that charges 3 dallors a person to enter, so be aware. Flowers and cactus in bloom during our visit. Beautiful place.

An interesting, entertaining, and fun shopping center in the heart of Cave Creek offering quite a few types of things to do, see, buy and eat or drink. Next time you’re in Cave Creek, this a must stop on a few counts. You can have a great lunch, attend a fine art and/or wine festival frequently held here, there’s a terrific hat shop, an intriguing Indian market, a worthwhile coffee shop, a Pub and much more. We frequently visit Ofrenda, an exquisite top-notch restaurant. Ortega’s Indian Market offers extraordinary items. And the list can go on. Try it out, I’m sure the short walk around this shopping center will be well worth your while.

The City Creamery in Cave Creek is a must-visit for ice cream enthusiasts. This charming spot offers daily-made, small-batch, hand-churned ice cream in unique flavors like candied jalapeno, cowboy coffee, and huckleberry honey and lavender. In addition to classic flavors such as chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry, they also serve shakes, sundaes, and sodas. The friendly staff creates an inviting atmosphere where visitors can watch the old-fashioned churning process.
This place is AMAZING!! Some of the best ice cream I have ever had. It's definitely worth signing up for the reward club. The people working here are always such a pleasure to see and talk to. The service is the best!! Midnight Chocolate, mint chip, and salted Carmel are all great choices, in my opinion. The serving sizes are definitely worth the prices. When you walk by this place, it smells so good, like fresh made waffle cones. I can not express my love for this store!! I always look forward to going to Cave Creek just for ice cream at this place! Thanks for being a great place!!

We love walking down the The City Creamery after dinner from time to time! I love that they sell locally roasted and made cold brew too! 🩷 The flavors are amazing-I only wish they came out with a cookie dough type ice cream some time.

We enjoyed trying out this ice cream shop! The service was very good! You can sample flavors ahead of time to make sure you like what you get. They make their ice creams and have some good flavors that you don’t find everywhere - like huckleberry or prickly pear. The dark chocolate was really good.

Very nice workers and the quality of ice cream is amazing. All of the staple flavors are made in house plus an additional flavor of the week making it always fun to visit regularly. The service is quick and the staff is very helpful. Honestly can't go wrong with any of the flavors offered.

THE most amazing ice cream shop!!! All of the flavors are so good! You can just tell everything is made so fresh and with the best ingredients!! The owners and people who work there are incredibly nice and welcoming, it was the best experience all the way around! Wow! Such a great place to get a little ice cream. Easy to give this spot a 5-stars with how friendly they were, the fact that the scopes were very generously sized, and that they have the old-school homemade ice cream makers. I tried a little bit of the cookies & cream, huckleberry, and pistachio. All were delicious but my favorite always seems to be cookies & cream. Just a personal flavor thing. I tried the cookies & cream in a waffle bowl which was good too. Again, very generous scopes inside a big waffle bowl which I appreciated! Also, very clean inside which was great. Thank you all! If you visit, I hope you find some flavors you enjoy as much as I enjoy cookies & cream 😋

Great little spot to stop for a sweet treat to beat the heat! Got to enjoy the unique flavors and the homemade goodness. I found that none of the flavors really blew me away, maybe they weren’t as sweet as I expected, but you can’t go wrong with ice cream anyway. Expect to spend $5 for the smallest scoop. I didn’t realize they had toppings until looking at other reviews. I shoulda got some.

The Cave Creek Museum offers a fascinating journey through the history and environment of the area. From the prehistoric era when the Hohokam people inhabited the high desert landscape to the 1800s gold strike, visitors can explore various exhibits in different wings of the museum. The Ansbaugh Auditorium serves as an entry point, featuring changing exhibits on Sonoran Desert life, history, and local art.
This small museum has some great info on how the area evolved from a military trail to a mini oasis in the Arizona desert. They have a replica mining operation in the back that shows how the miners extracted and pulverized rock in search of gold. Inside has some great displays of Native American society and how these amazing people thrived in one of the harshest environments on the planet. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable on each display. Bring your kids and teach them history!

Great hometown museum! I enjoyed learning about the history of the area and seeing the exhibits. They have indoor and outdoor exhibits, and some hands-on activities.
Holly M — Google review
The most impressive part of this facility, is the dedication of the volunteers. They do a whole demonstration of the mining equipment a few times a year, and they are really committed to keeping the history alive. And the people working in the shop are super friendly. The whole place was really cool. I took a friend from overseas who had zero interest in mining, but she still found lots to see. Worth the 1 hour drive for us. If you want to visit on a demonstration day, be sure to buy your tix in advance, bc our tour was sold out. BTW we went back out to the mine entrance to take photos, and heard what we thought was a stray cat. Then, the sound changed to a barking sound. Then a bird sound! We couldn't see the vocalist, but we suspect a Mockingbird, since we'd seen one out there, earlier in the day. He was really funny to listen to. :)

A very small, but enjoyable museum about the history of Cave Creek. The attendants at the front desk were very polite and welcoming when we arrived. It is divided into two wings and an outside area with some mining equipment, a tuberculosis cabin, and a chapel. I especially liked all the information I could learn about the different Native American tribes, and the history of the mining that went on in the 1800s and early 1900s in Cave Creek. I took off one star just due to the size since it would be hard to spend over an hour here, however, I do recommend it for any fan of history, museums, or anyone who is interested in anything to do about Arizona or it’s heritage. $10 for adults and $8 for seniors to enter.
Zan L — Google review
This was a great museum to see a lot of Native American artifacts. They have a huge display of pottery amongst other things the natives used in the area of Cave Creek and Carefree. They have a really neat mill and if you make and get reservations you can see them fire it up and crush rock and learn how they used to get gold. It was a pretty neat guided tour and informative. The people that work at the museum are all volunteers and have a passion to tech and show you how things were many years back. We live in the area and it was very cool to see the operations and all of the displays.

What a gem! For a smaller town, this museum packs a variety of historic nuggets into the exhibits and the grounds. We attended the Gold Stamp Mine Experience, and visited the rest of the museum after our Gold mining tour. We were very impressed with the guide who shared everything from the process to the hard life miners endured. Watching the stamp mill rumble to life was a treat. The Gold Mine Experience is only offered on certain weekends and you will want to buy tickets ahead of time.

From miners, ranching, dude ranching, American legion’s, rodeos there is a lot to do in this area. Don’t forget to check out the original historic, first church, the gold panning exhibit, and the tubercular cabin. Craft day, I got to make a turkey and a beaded ear of corn, lol. Loved it. Black Mountain Trail

Hiking area
Located in the heart of Asheville, North Carolina, the Black Mountain Trail provides hikers with a challenging but rewarding trek up to the summit of one of the most famous mountain ranges in North Carolina. The 2.5-mile trail is well-marked and easy to navigate, making it perfect for all levels of hikers. As you make your way up the mountain, you'll likely spot deer grazing on the lush forest below and admire beautiful views of Lake Blue Ridge and surrounding areas.
It's worth the effort to get to the top! Lots of rock to climb over and it was a fun hike! Great views all the way up.
Scott R — Google review
This hike is almost a climb. It was 2.84 miles round trip to the flag at the Summit and elevation change was just shy of 1500’ so that’s considered steep by most people. Lots of rugged terrain loose rocks. I would not recommend this for someone with any sort of balance issue. It would be easy to get hurt on this trail. Parking is at the base and it’s maybe 400 yards to the trail head that is situated between 2 private drives. Watch out for the side trails, you get off on one of those like I did and it’s now more climbing than hiking. The views from the summit are amazing and well worth the work out.
Randy P — Google review
Loved this hike. A challenging, yet rewarding work out. Beautiful 350 views at the top. Some steep and rocky points, but worth it.

Third time on Black Mountain. This time we went slow and steady with kids and it was a great hike. Rugged terrain requires some agility. Obviously bring plenty of water. Hike in the morning. Carpenter bees near the flag pole circled us but weren't a nuisance. Saw hummingbirds!
Jami N — Google review
The panoramic views are very nice. The trail is all climb over rugged and sharp jagged rocks. Do not attempt if you have balance or mobility issues. Wear good hiking shoes and bring water.
Mike G — Google review
Speaking as a visitor to the area from the Sacramento Valley in California, this was one of my more challenging hikes but well worth taking. The parking lot for the trail is tucked away off of School House Road along Mark Way. The actual trailhead is located further up the road adjacent to two private driveways. Given the steep rocky composition of the trail, I took my time getting to the summit. I encountered several other hikers along my trek who were friendly and encouraging. I am in awe of those locals who hike this trail on a regular basis for exercise. The view from the summit was quite amazing and I got to break in my new hiking shoes.
Rick W — Google review
The views were great. It’s a straight shot from the trailhead to the top. Starts between two peoples driveways, so try not to walk onto private property on accident. Windy at the top! Possible for all levels, the path is very rocky though so wear some boots for your ankles.

Great hike in the heart of Cave Creek. I’ve been doing this hike for years and always enjoy it. It sorta reminds me of doing the Incline in Colorado Springs. I did it in 36 minutes going up with maybe 3-4 stops. I’d say you have to be physically fit to do this hike or an experienced hiker. This year AZ received a lot of rain over the winter and the flowers were gorgeous! Great hike!

El Encanto is a charming Mexican restaurant located in the western town of Cave Creek, offering a delightful blend of traditional Mexican cuisine with gourmet touches. The restaurant's hacienda-like ambiance creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, complete with a picturesque pond filled with ducks and geese. Guests can savor authentic Mexican dishes made from locally sourced ingredients, including flavorful enchiladas, quesadillas, and sizzling fajitas.
This spot truly feels like a slice of Mexico. The warm, tropical breeze adds to the atmosphere, and the scenery exceeded my expectations. The hostesses, waitresses, and waiters are all wonderfully kind. I ordered the steak fajitas, and they were absolutely delicious. Nestled in the heart of Cave Creek and surrounded by charming little shops, this place is a gem. I highly recommend it!

I went with a group of friends to have dinner on a Wednesday evening, there were 10 of us so we made a reservation. When we arrived we had to wait 20 minutes for our table. And then it took 45 minutes for our food to arrive. Our server was very nice, but when she brought our appetizers (we ordered 2 of the fundido sauce and chips), she failed to bring any appetizer plates out for us. Someone eventually asked and she brought them. I ordered the chicken fajitas, and while they were good, they were nothing special for me. Though two people ordered the pollo fundido and raved about it. Most entre items seemed to range in price from $18-$23 The atmosphere was the best part of the evening. The outdoor seating by the pond with the ducks and turtles and lush surroundings is unique and fun (though noisy as well). There are large outdoor ceiling fans for the warm evenings. Love the ambience at this restaurant.

Had the most wonderful lunch here with family yesterday. It was such a warm and inviting, cheerful place. Our waitress (so sorry I can’t remember her name but we were a table of 6 sat at a window by the turtle pond around 2 pm on 7/14/25!) was lovely! So nice and friendly and chatty with us. The food was SO good. We are from Nj and get to see this part of our family, who lives locally, once a year if we are lucky. Our experience at El Encanto made us forget all about the fact we were on our way to the airport! We were not rushed, it was just a happy, leisurely, joyful meal. Truly a unique and special place.

Visited El Encanto Mexican restaurant, while in Arizona. The restaurant was nicely decorated, appeared clean, had a pond view. The food and service were ok. The tamales were dry and lacked flavor. One of the tamales was sweet. Did not like at all, but that's my preference as I prefer savory. The Ceviche was also dry, did not have sauce, the steak tacos were good and flavorful. The guacamole was good but needed more lime and salt. The service was mediocre, waiter was not attentive, expected better service. Try it, may be better service. Not sure if I would return.

The Village Coffee Shop is a hidden treasure in the Carefree/Cave Creek vicinity, tucked away from the main thoroughfare in a shopping complex. It offers ample seating options both indoors and outdoors. The menu is extensive and features an array of delectable French dishes. During peak hours, it can get quite busy, with large groups often occupying most of the indoor seating area. Nonetheless, the service remains efficient and courteous. The coffee cups provided are generously sized, resembling soup bowls.
The Village Coffee is an absolute gem. Without fail the food is always delicious, everyone is beyond friendly, and the atmosphere is so cozy. I always get an iced latte and a crepe, I’ve never had anything less than spectacular. If you’re looking for a cute space to get some light work done, or read and relax, this is definitely the spot. Also a great place to bring friends or anyone visiting from out of town! Full of charm and with the kindest owner I would give it more than 5 stars if possible.

A short 45 minute drive from downtown Phoenix, nestled within the Stagecoach Village plaza in Cave Creek, The Village Coffee Shop has the best crepes in the valley. The coffee is locally roasted (Roastery of Cave Creek -ROC²) and on par with top coffee shops and everything is reasonably priced for the quality you get. The menu is quite large and caters to every taste bud with 22 sweet and 14 savory crepe options. The decor is comfy and Parisian inspired with a chandelier, colorful murals, and Audrey Hepburn photos as you're serenaded by artists like Norah Jones. Oak's Diner & Flapjacks is a classic American eatery that offers a nostalgic dining experience with its old-school setting and authentic menu. The diner exudes a timeless charm, from its decor to the friendly service reminiscent of bygone eras. It only accepts cash and serves generous portions of traditional breakfast and brunch fare. The place is known for its eggs made to order, great pancakes, omelettes, crepes, biscuits with gravy, and more.
I am not sure how old this diner is but it appears to be a place frozen in time for many decades. The decor, the atmosphere, the menu and the old fashioned friendly service are reminiscent of an era of at least half a century ago. Just as it was in those old days, only cash is accepted so store away your credit cards, Google Pay and Apple Pay methods. The food is authentic for that period and comes in generous portions. Only open for breakfast and lunch. Check hours before going.

I hardly ever leave bad reviews but this was some of the worst service I’ve had in my life. Food was mediocre. I waited over 25 minutes to receive my bill just for the passive aggressive waitress to tell me she only accepts cash. She didn’t check on me or my food not once. She didn’t bring my any water which I was sooo thirsty. After 25 minutes maybe longer she brought me my bill and I said I’m ready to pay and she just walked away. Didn’t give me change or anything, just utterly disrespectful, & no sense of communication at all. Very disappointed and terrible way to start my morning. I will never be back. 👍🏽 Salt & Pepper haired lady.
