Performing arts theater

Arenas & Stadiums
CMAC, also known as the Constellation Brands-Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center, is a popular indoor/outdoor theater located in Canandaigua, NY. It hosts big-name concerts, theater performances, and dance productions during the summer season. The venue offers a 15,000-seat capacity with both pavilion and lawn seating options overlooking the picturesque Canandaigua Lake. Visitors can enjoy live music under the stars while sipping on wine or other available beverages.
Great live music venue! Parking was $10. Staff was friendly and helpful! Drink prices are insanely high. $35 for one drink and a water. Lots of praying mantis and gnats flying around. Still a great night with a nice breeze off the lake! Sublime/Interrupters ❤️

This is one of my favorite places to see concerts. The hill on the south side is sloped a lot and we had to help my mom. Not incredibly clear what chair I was allowed to bring (I have a spinal disability and cannot sit in camp chairs). Switching between the grass and standing is usually just fine though. All in all, I'm always very happy with the sound quality no matter where you are (dome or all the way back by the Corona cabana.
Amy O — Google review
I just came back from the killers concert and i gotta say, the venue itself was nice, However crowd control was so bad and unorganized. I really thought i got a good spot on the lawn but security was just letting people stand on the walkway by the time the show was starting. It felt like they sold out more tickets than they should have because there was a point when people didn't seem to find a spot. It would be nice if they had staff directing foot traffic.
Stephlestrange 1 — Google review
Ted Nugent popularized the phrase, "If it's too loud, you're too old." So take heed if you sit under the covered Amphitheater section. Also I find it amusing that people in the seated sections stand the entire concert. With your view blocked you will need comfortable shoes for standing during the evening. Consider the lawn area for a more comfortable experience.
David H — Google review
Love CMAC! Smooth entering and exiting and it feels clean, chill and safe. There are no bad seats! And I love that you can bring or rent a folding chair for the lawn. The rental chairs are $5 and the money goes to charity. Also there are places nearby to park for less than $45 if you get to the area early enough. Can’t say enough good things about this venue.
Megan H — Google review
Love CMAC. Saw Heart there on Friday. Opened by Todd Rundgren. Great seats, nice venue. Only complaint is that one cannot bring their own drinks, soda, etc. and if you buy a drink from the location, it still has to be poured into a cup.
Rjrnj1 — Google review
I LOVE CMAC. When there’s a concert on a warm, summer evening, it’s an incomparable place. I don’t like some of the crazy rules they have adopted (e.g. one can’t even bring a bottle of water in, and only allows one to bring in a single, clear plastic bag). There are metal detectors and security personnel, so that should be sufficient. I saw Heart and they were amazing. I like country music as much as the next person, but in recent years there have been far too many country artists and not enough pop and rock artists at CMAC. This was Heart’s first time here. I sure hope they will be asked to return!
Donna F — Google review
Nice venue. Took my daughter to see Benson Boone. Excellent show, but the lawn seats aren't very friendly for smaller people to be able to see the stage. Next time I will be getting seats.

Bowling alley

Roseland Bowl is the perfect destination for a day of family fun and excitement. The highlight of this venue is its 34-lane bowling alley, complete with optional bumpers and automatic scoring. In addition to bowling, visitors can enjoy the bustling arcade known as the Fun Zone, featuring a variety of popular games. The facility also offers party packages suitable for special occasions like birthdays. With its friendly staff and great food options, Roseland Bowl provides an enjoyable experience for both kids and adults alike.
Bowling, arcade, food, bar, and so much fun. Courteous service throughout the facility. Clean, well maintained venue. Plenty of parking in a safe area.
Chris M — Google review
Been going here a long time and I seen a decline the food isn’t as good the arcade laser tag and bumper cars are barely open. The lanes are so expensive you can find good deals on Groupon sometimes but if you go in there I dss double as much unless you order the tickets on another site. If you get times lane it will cut you off mid game which I feel like it should let you finish. Or at least give an option but they just cut you off
Amber H — Google review
Very upset We pushed our call bell about twice I went up spoke to the guy stated we need help orderly ignoring me very upset the pins kept on falling throughout the game we spend money every weekend 200.00 a week now we're not coming back
Stephanie O — Google review
Mostly good experience here. Only one time would call ahead or a lane and when we got there, De La was still available, but they didn’t want to give it to us. That was pretty lame. But we can’t hear for the arcade laser tag and birthday parties. We always have a good time.
Daniel R — Google review
The balls and pins get stuck almost every time we play here which is annoying. Prices are decent. Don’t come for the food though. The last two times I ordered a craft beer on tap it was flat and what looked like mold chunks floating on top. Most likely from dirty lines.
Jeffrey P — Google review
Food quality has declined, one game was $35 and it was empty. No laser tag or bumper cars during most days. Noticed several lanes are warped, uneven, damaged.
Lyell M — Google review
Was a nice bowling alley, and I had a decent arcade attached. As long as you plan ahead to make sure you get a lane. It wasn't too expensive, especially with a group, and the pizza was pretty good, too.
Ryan S — Google review
Party here tonight and it has been so many years since I went bowling my husband and I had fun even though we both weren't the best. Can't wait to try again I would definitely come back. There seemed to be so many parties going on.

Nolan's on Canandaigua Lake is a relaxed steakhouse located at the northern end of Canandaigua Lake. The restaurant offers a menu featuring Certified Angus Beef, seafood, and pasta. Guests can enjoy their meal with lake views from the outdoor patio. The restaurant prides itself on providing outstanding customer service and a laid-back atmosphere at an affordable price, making it an exceptional dining experience for visitors.
We are visiting the Finger Lakes area for a few days and this restaurant was recommended by a Finger Lakes Facebook group. I also based my choice on the reviews in here. We walked in at 7 PM and were immediately greeted and seated right away. Kelley came by the table and introduced herself as our server. We both started out with wine, I had a red blend and my partner had Chardonnay. I didn’t order an appetizer, but my partner ordered a Caesar salad and it was very good. I tried it, and I liked that it was more of a chopped Caesar salad. The rolls with the honey butter were excellent. I ordered the filet mignon, medium rare with mashed red skin potatoes and asparagus. My partner had the seafood mixed broil with coleslaw, mashed potatoes, and asparagus. It was a big portion and he ended up bringing about half of back to our Airbnb. Both meals were excellent. We decided to pass on dessert and enjoyed some of the cookies we bought at a farmers market nearby. The space was very nice and looked fairly new to us and it was well taken care of. We asked Kelley when the restaurant opened and she said in 2011. This restaurant is a nice choice if you’re in the area.

Nolan's was so frickin good, my girls and I went back the next night for dinner after our initial visit for lunch 🤣. For lunch, I had this Mediterranean quinoa salad with gorgonzola dressing that was so flavorfully creative and light. Then I enjoyed their chicken salad (would suggest adding bacon and provolone) on this golden, garlicky foccacia bread. We then overheard the waitress going through their desserts and that was our trigger to come back for dinner. For dinner I had these succulent crab cakes with their Sriracha ranch over a luscious bed of asparagus, asiago risotto. And, to top it all off, their delicious and creamy peanut butter pie. Ya'll a sista could have died, and I would have been deeply pleased that it was my last meal.🙌🏾 Last, but definitely not least, we were provided the most outstanding standard of service by the oh so lovely Jasmine. She was holding down both sides of the house with impeccable style, a sweet smile, swiftness, and charisma that left us with the best dinning experience. Give that woman a raise! 💓

I don’t write many reviews but when I do I feel it is worth my time and helpful for those looking for a quality restaurant experience. My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful time at Nolan’s for one of many annniv meals. Our server was Kristen and she was fantastic. She was kind and knowledgeable of the menu and very helpful in checking for my food allergies. The food was phenomenal. Appetizer, salad, main entree and dessert. It is rare that we enjoy every course but not this time. We thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere, service and the food was absolutely delicious. We highly recommend Nolan’s.

We’ve been to Nolan’s several times and it seems to be getting better. Went there Saturday night for a birthday dinner and it was really great. Bacon-wrapped scallops, steaks, filet and lobster tails and an awesome pork chop special were all top notch. The desserts took things to even another level! Fast, friendly (quirky!) service and decent prices. And of course a great location in Canandaigua. Great!

The food was amazing the service quick . There is no lake view although very close to the lake . No outdoor seating it's an enclosed patio. very nice though.

So had a planned night out with the wife. Stopping at several places in one night. Nolans was suggested for their food even one of the earlier spots employee mentioned their great bacon wrap scallops, and chicken @ shrimp Alfredo. It took us over two hours from sit to check out. 20 mins before the waitress stopped to get our drink order. Another 20 to get drinks that were loaded with alcohol undrinkable had to send them back. Took a while to get our apps and even the bread for the table. We had to ask if there were any special after hearing from another sever tell a table that sat after us what they were. The food eventually came up and was great. Because it took so long we had to alter our other stops as a lot of places closed at 9 and 10. Also, it was on a Wednesday night so it was not a typical night for an expected long dinner time or wait times.

Canandaigua City Pier is a picturesque spot featuring nearly 80 charming boathouses, some dating back to 1888, along Boathouse Row. It's one of the most photographed places in Canandaigua and offers a great view of Squaw Island. The pier also provides access to Lagoon Park and its gravel pathway around Goodwin Island, as well as nearby recreational spots like Kershaw Park Beach, Roseland Waterpark, and Roseland Wake Park.
Beautiful little spot by the water. I look forward to visiting during the summer months to be able to enjoy the ice cream shop and check out the little market. The boat houses are so cute and definitely give off a New Hampshire feel. It feels good to escape for a brief time while staying local to home.

Beautiful lakeside walk. Launch paddleboats, canoes, kayaks from beach around corner. Free public "beach" lakeside access. Check Canandaigua City website for health of the water. 2025 summer was amazingly fresh! Fun little gift shop open May thru September on the pier. Historic little houses atop the water. Nature abounds with birds, ducks, lots of trout in lake to fish for. Read the plaques by the traffic circle to learn all the history! Wonderful choices for food. All places creative, delicious restaurants for medium to higher budgets nearby. [My personal caveat is thatNolan's food is meh IMHO] But the rest are all good! Don't miss the ice cream on the corner for dessert ~ you'll sit in a waffle cone. IYKYK 🍦🍨🍕🍔🥩🥗🍝🦈🍣🥙🥖☕️🍳🥣🍺🍷🍹🍸🏄‍♂️🏊‍♂️👙🩳🥽⛵️🚤🚣‍♀️🛶⛺️🥾🚶‍♀️💨

Love to visit the pier, plenty of places to sit and enjoy a picnic in the sunshine, watching the boats, birds and enjoying the water views! The lake is very clear this year!

Lovely people moving in and renovating the boat houses, after they have fallen to disrepair. We hope they can hold on to this historic pier and avoid mega developers moving in.

Very beautiful happening place. Close by restaurants, ice cream shops. When the weather is great, you can sit outside many places to enjoy the food. Parking: Public parking is available nearby. Pier itself is a beautiful walk, and you can view mobile houses from there and read a little bit about the history of those houses. Place to sit: There are bences there if you want to sit relax and enjoy the lake.

Such a beautiful place and our only regret is not having enough time at this place. The most happening part of Lake Canandigua, with gorgeous views, watersports, eateries and even a swimming pool (with a small entry fee). Public parking is available but also gets very full on weekends.

Kershaw Park is a stunning 9-acre park situated on the north shore of Canandaigua Lake. It boasts a new beach area, lakefront walkways, picnic pavilions, children's playground, and small craft launch area. Families visit during the summer to partake in activities like swimming, kayaking, and boating. The park also features a public dock with a boat pump-out station.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Kershaw Park is a beautiful spot on the shores of Canandaigua Lake! The views are breathtaking, and the walking paths are well-maintained with plenty of benches to relax and enjoy the scenery. The beach area is clean and family-friendly, with designated swimming areas during the summer. I also noticed they’re working on improving security and safety at the park, which is great to see for the community and visitors. The picnic areas, open spaces, and clean facilities make it a wonderful destination for gatherings or a peaceful day outdoors. Highly recommend stopping by!

I grew up not too far from Kershaw Park in Naples. The park has always been a lovely and beautiful place. The city keeps it well maintained, and it has a nice swimming area which I think should be made a little bigger. You can launch your kayaks or pedal boards there. And the swimming is wonderful with a sandy bottom to enjoy.

Low key park. On a gorgeous lake. Beautiful sunset after sunny day. Had a nice bench swing for four peeps facing the lake that was fun and refreshing. Easy access to the water and some nice walking paths. Tree was down from big hailstorm the day before, it was getting cleaned up.

Kershaw Park in Canandaigua is a beautifully maintained lakefront park with scenic views of Canandaigua Lake. It’s ideal for families, walkers, and anyone looking to relax by the water 🤗 Pros: • Gorgeous lake views and sunsets 🌅 • Clean, paved walking paths • Nice playground • Benches, picnic areas • Close to restaurants and downtown shops Cons: • Parking can fill up on busy summer weekends • Swimming access is limited to the beach area only Great for a day trip, morning walk, or lakeside picnic. A well-loved community spot with just enough amenities without feeling overcrowded.

Yummy food and super energetic staff with always to help attitude. Special thanks to Nicole for superb treatment, keep up all the good work. French onion soup is a must try, highly recommended. And the Caesar chicken salad was so very fresh. Most importantly the vibe of the place is so positive with a lake.

We went for lunch on a Sunday. It was super quiet in the dining room. Felt like you're in a library lol. The TV was off. If it were on it would have helped. Maybe some music? Good food though. I got the Reuben and it was really full of meat and sour kraut. The green bean appetizer was on special. They were ok. Our server was super nice.

Got the fish and chips here and it was absolutely amazing. The atmosphere was more laid back here. Things were getting rowdy with a group but the bartender quickly took care of it. Pizza restaurant
Mark's Pizzeria is a branch of a popular pizza chain that offers both traditional and innovative pies, as well as wings and sandwiches. Customers have been frequenting this establishment for some time, enjoying their delectable New York style pepperoni pizza. The cheese was expertly omitted from one half of the pie to accommodate lactose intolerant individuals without compromising taste. Additionally, the crust was perfectly cooked to a desired level of doneness without crossing into burnt territory.
I stopped by at 1030 AM to inquire if they could help me with a special order. I am completing cancer treatments at The Sands Cancer center and wanted to treat the staff. I inquired if they could have 7 -1 topping large pizzas ready by 1130. They said it would not be and issue and gave me a nice discount. I returned 1 hour later and they loaded the pizzas into my car for me. The medical staff were very surprised and said the pizzas were excellent. Thank you so much for helping to make my cancer recovery so much more meaningful.

I just spoke with two employees who were extremely rude. I usually order from here and things are fine. I’m not sure what has happened lately. I heard the driver lie and say that he gave the food to me that I was missing. He drives a white sedan and wears a pony tail. He even said thanks for the tip. Well, I digress, I am missing one item, I called for a refund. The manager was also extremely rude. Neither said their name at all. She laughed at me and basically said that I was lying. I paid $20 for some Mac and cheese that I didn’t get. Lately the food has been burnt and they don’t even put everything on it that you ask. I pay for double veggies and barely get any. This place has become a disgrace to all Marks in the area. Don’t go back! Pontillos is awesome and locally run and owned!! See the photo that I have included of the burnt sub that I had to add the cheese sauce to when I ordered it on the sub.

I have been here a dozen times and the pizza is great. This time it looked cold and stale so I asked if they could please heat it. Was told no, it's warm. So I went to go eat it, all cold and the crust was like cardboard. Went to ask please for another slice and was told sure, but I would be charged for it. Just a terrible day for Mark's.

Very satisfied with my dinner from tonight. I got a sub which was the steak sub which has shaved steak sautéed peppers and onions, bacon which I added, mozzarella cheese, mayo and mushrooms. I have this sub as a go to. You won't be disappointed if you give this a try.

Seems like this Marks has went down a little.i ordered chicken finger sub for delivery. I was a bit bothered by the ampint of brown soggy lettuce i was given the chicken fingers were also a bit soggy. Lastly the toasted bun was pretty much burnt. Im hoping it was a one off thing.🤞

Tastes like marks. Not my favorite but it’s good and consistent. Staff is always friendly and I’ve never had to wait longer than the wait time they give me.

Would give a zero if I could. Ordered food,Pizza and wings. Should have lite wing sauce on these wings. No sauce whatsoever. Called to let them know. Wanted the wings returned and they would give us a credit. But would not send the correct order. So the houseful we have for dinner would have had to go without, give us a credit for a future order, and that's assuming we ever order again from this location. Already paid for their expensive wings and just wanted them correctly prepared.

Sand Bar at The Lake House on Canandaigua is a laid-back and legendary local watering hole that has been a favorite since it opened in 1994. It offers a casual atmosphere, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a drink or some upscale bar fare while taking in the stunning sunset views over the lake. The bar has recently undergone updates to its look and menu, but still maintains its original character.
Awesome meal! We went for a late lunch on a beautiful day on the lake! There was a wait for the patio so we opted for a table inside, but it’s so nice because the restaurant is very open air, with the big garage-like doors open. Nice views of the marina and boats on the lake. Libby was a great waitress and the manager checked in too and which is always a sign of a great restaurant in my opinion! I ordered the chicken cutlet (delish!!) and my hubby ordered the lobster roll. The roll was a little small (but delicious) so he helped me finish off the massive cutlet.

We ordered the lobster roll and Santa Fe Tacos. Both were excellent. Service is great. The view of the lake from the outdoor seating area is second to none. My only beef with Sand Bar is that I feel the management should rethink the apparent requirement that the female wait staff wear unbelievably short skirts for work. Just in their course of duty working around us I saw much more than I wanted. My standard is that if I had a daughter working there would I want her wearing those skirts? My answer is that no I wouldn’t. The male staff are not required to bare their undergarments. How is that fair?

The live music was excellent, didn't care for what I ordered, but it wasn't terrible. We had the Mexican corn tacos and they just tried making it too fancy. The pretzel and the jam spreads were wonderful. The view is even more amazing. Looking forward to future visits because it's still a great place. Just wasn't a fan of 1 item we picked for our meal. The live music itself was a great experience, I'd recommend going when the sun is setting so you can watch the sky change colors!

Had the best calamari ever. Food overall was great. The atmosphere is scenic and refreshing. Tiffany (Manager, Sand Bar) was prompt and helpful getting us the best and highest form of service worth our money.

I absolutely loved this restaurant. The food was so good!! Located right on Canandaigua Lake offering beautiful views and made for a delightful dining experience.

I think we must have visited on the busiest night of the year. Service was incredibly slow and after sitting for about 20 minutes we had to ask if a server was ever going to come to our table. Once placing our order we waited a significant time for the food as well. The food was good, but not great. I guess the highlight of the experience was watching the boats come in and out of the marina, which was beautiful. But for such an upscale place, I did expect more.

We were on our honeymoon and ate here for lunch. Beautiful spot on the water. We had the nachos for an app, they were good, for our meals we had the salad with chicken and the double smash burger, both good as well. Two cocktails, strawberry daquiri and a lemonade blueberry. Would def come back!

Japanese restaurant
Sakura Japanese Steak House & Sushi Bar is a down-to-earth eatery that offers an authentic Japanese dining experience. The restaurant features a variety of sushi options and also offers tableside hibachi grills where skilled chefs prepare delicious meals in an entertaining manner. This family-friendly establishment allows kids to have fun with their food, as the chefs create miniature flaming volcanoes out of onions and skillfully spin eggs in the air without breaking them.
The food is excellent. The service is great. It's a very comfortable restaurant.

We came in pretty late at 8:30 PM. Luckily, we were still able to get a table. The service was fast. The staff is attentive enough and the food portions were good and well priced. The soup and salad were nice starters that we got together with the Hibachi entree. The sukiyaki beef was well prepared and so was the banzai chicken. I loved the vegetables, that still had a bit of a bite to them. We left feeling very full, but satisfied!

Food was absolutely delicious and the staff extremely professional and nice! My only complaint is the price.... Pretty damn hefty... $75 for two people... However we ate like royalty. Just for special occasions.

Great location and food was excellent. Plenty of parking. Place was very busy. We made reservations a week ahead of time. The chef was phenomenal and fun. I had the scallops hibachi. My husband had the shrimp and chicken. Everything was delicious.

Overall the experience was not bad. They seated us quite fast but then took a while to grab our order after getting us the drinks. The food did make up for it though. I love the Godzilla Roll that they had. Never had duck here but would definitely order it again. My girlfriend got an assortment of rolls and they all were great as well. In the past when we came we did try the hibachi side and we all enjoyed that.

I always enjoy going to hibachi. This particular time we took my nephew for his first experience in hibachi. He enjoyed it, though I would rate the show this time as sub par. With that being said, I've always gotten top notch service at Sakura, and the food is always amazing.

Nestled in a charming setting, Simply Crepes Craft Kitchen Canandaigua offers a delightful array of sweet and savory crepes for breakfast and dessert. The cozy atmosphere is complemented by a selection of local beers and featured wineries. Whether you're craving something sweet or savory, this cafe has something for everyone to enjoy.
An absolute must place to try! My husband and I couldn't decide between sweet or savory, so we ordered the breakfast crepes and the berry crepes with cream to split. Every bite was heaven and the coffee was the cherry on top of a perfect experience. The restaurant is open, bright and welcoming and the staff was darling. A reason to come back to beautiful Canandaigua!

The atmosphere was delightful, clean and decorations on point. We had some ricotta cheese toast to kick off our dinner along with some cordon bleu chicken and rugby crepe dishes. All our plates were amazing– from portion size, flavor and consistency to pricing. The reason I’m giving this place 4 stars is how rushed the whole interaction with our waitress Ashley felt. Don’t get me wrong, she was fast and attentive to our needs, but it felt as if we were being pushed out the door before we were ready. She brought us takeout boxes while we were still in the middle of our plates, then had a check ready when we wanted to move on with dessert. Not five minutes after our dessert was out she came by with a handheld computer to check us out. It caught me off guard, I was again still working on my dish and taking in how good my strawberry crepe was. She earned her tip, but uncomfortably managed with speed and a strange rush to end our meal. We’ll absolutely be back though. Their crepes were amazing lol.

The Chicken & Waffles Crepe is likely the most pleasant culinary mouth experience I have had. The hot, crispy, juicy, savory chicken... sweet maple bourbon sauce... crispy salty bacon... a beautifully tender crepe... Perfection! I have had it both with and without the bacon cream sauce, and I find it too rich with the sauce. Ashley K helped us out today and made our visit extra wonderful - thank you!

Excellent place to go for breakfast. Great breakfast food options, specialty drinks, and a great atmosphere in a great little town. Food was delicious, atmosphere was great, service was excellent. I ordered the make your own omelet and it was cooked to perfection. A friend ordered the banana ans strawberry crepe and that looked amazing. If you are anywhere near this place, I would recommend stopping in and ordering something.

Great food, excellent service, wonderful atmosphere. I love Canandaigua and all the shops on Main Street. It is always a joy to stop in and reserve a table (because it’s always a 40 minute wait) and then walk around to the different shops. My wife tried the fall turkey crepe and it was honestly the best thing we’ve had here. It was delicious. We ended up splitting her food because there was so much and we both loved it. The turkey is juicy and delicious, the crepe wraps together this delightful turkey dinner that includes bacon and cranberry cream cheese. It was perfect. Meanwhile I ordered the breakfast crepe, which was honestly a mistake. It was dry and needed maple syrup or something. It just didn’t compare and I regretted getting it. I ordered some toast on the side, which was okay. We also ordered some crepe chips, but most of them were burnt or soggy. The ones that weren’t were delicious and paired perfectly with the cream cheese frosting dip stuff. Honestly I wouldn’t get them again. I will definitely bring my wife back here, but probably not frequently. There are other solid brunch spots in Canandaigua.

Architecture and ambience is absolutely unique and beautiful. Servers are friendly & efficient. Meals were far more unique and gourmet than expected - a really nice experience. We tried the Nutella Crepes with strawberry & banana ... exquisite. Chicken & Waffles Crepes - excellent texture & fabulously unique sauces. Crepes Madame - tantalizing and unexpected flavor combinations! Maple Stackers - classic comfort food with high quality sausage. Only negatives - server did not offer refills on the bottomless coffees, until we asked for them at the very end of the meal. Cream & sugar would be so much nicer if served with a pitcher/pourer instead of all the messy containers and packets. Coffees are delicious! Thanks for the special brunch!
Rebecca L — Google review
We got the chicken and waffles (crepes) and an omlette. Food was just average (chicken was dry) and not presented very well, serving size pretty small for the price. The server was nice, but it took quite a while for us to get our food (about 30 min). It wasn’t that busy either - lots of empty tables at the time. Maybe people go here for the dessert crepes or something else more popular.

Delicious food and friendly staff. When we arrived we had to wait just a few minutes before we were shown a table outside at the back of the restaurant. It was quiet and peaceful. We inquired with the staff on places to visit and other potential meal choices, since we were visiting the area. The staff where very knowledgeable and full of recommendations. Excellent food. We particularly like the Cordon Bleu for a savory dish and the caramelized banana crêpes for our desert.

A great local spot that has classic, comfort food! I was there for a girl's trip and we were craving bar food. This place was a Google suggestion and based on the menu alone, we were excited. Their country sweet wings were slap yo mama good 🤌🏾 We also had an excellent waitress that was helpfully honest about some of their food's quality, so we made the best choices. Would absolutely go back!

We had several people recommend the Green Front, so our expectations were high. They did not disappoint. The food was pretty good. My wife tried the Friday fish fry and it was very tasty. The fish was fresh and juicy, the batter was crispy. And the fries had a great flavor and were very crispy. I asked about the house favorites and was told the sausage is homemade and everyone loves it, but the pizza is the best in town. Being a pizza lover I gave it a try. I don’t know about the best in town, but it was delicious. I got a small Polimeni pizza. It was perfectly cooked, crispy, and the toppings were fantastic. All around it was a very good pizza. I would like to highlight the service. Our waitress was lovely. Her recommendations were a hit, she was friendly and conversational, and she always came around when we needed something despite how busy it was. The atmosphere is a very comfortable. We didn’t feel too crowded and the decor was pleasing to the eye. The price seemed well worth it considering what other restaurants charge for fish fry nearby. The pizza was $20 and there was plenty for two of us and then some. We had a cocktail and were surprised that it was under $7. Being one of the only places open after 9pm is a huge plus for them. We will definitely come again!

Mo, a good friend and regular took us here to eat. Glad he did because everything was incredible. It’s definitely a cool bar/restaurant. I tried the Dusted wings with an All the way Burger both were amazing. Also try the green front downtown golden ale pairs well with wings. Our server Allysa T kept the drinks flowing and was very personable. Plenty of free parking across the street. Bathrooms are clean.

My family has been in a handful of times and we've had a positive experience every visit. The wings are some of the best we've had, comparable to the famous wing places in Buffalo. The servers have also been super friendly with our 2 year old, she's started to ask us to come here.

Nick's Chophouse is a downtown Canandaigua gem with a rooftop seating area, offering some of the best food in town. The staff is friendly and well-coordinated, providing a great dining experience. The menu features delicious options like Alfredo with thick and flavorful sauce, and homemade or well-doctored blue cheese dressing. It's known for serving excellent steaks that are worth the price.
We love Nick’s! The bartender, Mike is great! Attentive, talented, friendly! The food is outstanding! We have ordered from the main menu, pub menu and also enjoyed the skydeck! No matter which location, the food and service was great. The rooftop needs a great bartender though. The rooftop is fun and super casual. Live music rooftop would be a fun idea in the warm months!

Went there last night for drinks and apps. The bartender/waitress was super friendly, and awesome. I got the ahi tuna app and itv was delicious, my date got the bruschetta and chefs kiss delicious. The cosmos were great! And I tried a new drink but can’t tender what it was called, it was champagne lemon juice simple syrup and vodka (normally gin) delicious again!!! I unfortunately left my purse! In the morning I emailed and the owner was amazing and met me there at 11am even though they font open till 430! Thank you! Highly recommend!

The food was pretty good, but nothing to write home about. The service was seriously lacking and inattentive. The drink order took way too long. It took over 90 minutes to receive our entrees, and no, it's not because they were busy. I'm not one to like to be rushed (one of the things I like about dining in much of Europe), but this was just disappointing.

We usually love it here. However, this time the hostess dumped a whole tray of waters on my friend. We did not cause a scene at all which we could have because he was soaked from chest to knees. When his wife quietly asked for his meal to be taken off the bill (cheapest meal at the table) the lady, who dumped the water, came over and smugly said the owner would only offer us a free drink or desert. Now i know that he knows better than that. My father was his college professor. He would be ashamed and nick should too. Food was great and so was the server. Too bad ill never eat it again.

One of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had If you’re thinking about eating here—don’t. My party walked into an almost-empty restaurant, ordered drinks, and then waited. And waited. Seventy-five minutes later, not a single beverage had arrived and no one had even taken our food order. When we flagged down the bartender, she looked genuinely surprised there should be a drink order. Eventually our lone server finally wandered back to our table , complained that they were “short-staffed” and shrugged off our wait with, “It’s Monday night—what do you expect?” She actually told us it was “our option to leave” if we weren’t happy. That was the most service we received all evening. Empty dining room, absent staff, zero accountability. Save yourself the frustration and spend your money anywhere else.

We were at Nick's Rooftop. The musical act (Claudia Hoyser) was top notch. The staff was also great but the food is only so-so. Specifically, the nachos and chicken fingers are not worth ordering, the hamburger was fairly good. To be clear, this is not about the food served in the restaurant on the first floor, this review only pertains to the rooftop.

Gateway Grille is a beloved spot for Sunday breakfast, cherished by many as their favorite place to dine. The atmosphere is consistently warm and inviting, exceeding expectations every time. Not only are the staff amazing and always busy attending to customers, but the food itself is consistently hot and delicious. This family-owned establishment fosters a sense of community, with strangers becoming friends at the counter where heartfelt conversations abound. We were a party of ten people and the service was amazing. The food was really good and they served exactly as you ask. Really good!

Have not felt the need to post a review but this one stood out as especially disappointing. The person doing the seating was the ONLY person who was even close to polite or friendly. The server did not make any acknowledgement except "are you ready to order?" So we ordered and waited at least 15 to 20 min for simple breakfast order for 3 adults. Server came over to take plates when she saw me standing up to wait outside. We left my husband in there to pay. He waited again while he said he watched her clear tables and ignore him. He went to ask her for the check and she was very snotty and said ask at the register. Seriously!? Sorry we bothered. We get the message not to come back and put anyone out. This is why there is a wait at Simply Crepes but it's worth the wait.

Tasty fresh food served pretty fast and with a lot of care. Just the sort of laid back diner atmosphere I love. Only knocked off one star for food because my hash Benedict eggs had no runniness at all, but maybe that’s on me to have not specified. If you expect runny yolks from your eggs, better specify when ordering

Food is delicious and staff is friendly and personable. I love their breakfast bowls and iced lattes. Great coffee and espresso selection. The owner, Sue, her daughter Megan, and all of their staff are always so friendly and attentive. It of course gets busier in the summer months during tourist season, but their food still tastes great every time. Wait times do increase during peak times and summer months, so go earlier or be aware of a wait time. Outside of peak months, the wait time is short or non-existent and there is always almost spots at the counter (my personal favorite). Great local business with everything you want from diner!

Seems like the breakfast spot for locals. Good service. My breakfast (BLT with an egg) was good. Wife was not too fond of her sandwich. But the deal breaker was the coffee. It was maybe the worst coffee we ever had. Tasted to me like a coffee substitute. Sorry but hopefully you read this and will switch it up.

We’ve been here probably half a dozen times and I’ve always gotten the traditional Eggs Benedict. Every time it has been delicious and perfectly cooked. Consistency is absolutely a strong suit of theirs. Today the egg was overcooked and we communicated it to our server and they fixed it bringing the proper poached eggs. They have always done an excellent job but today they especially deserve it. Great job Gateway Grille!!

Ice cream shop
Cheshire Farms Creamery is a premium ice cream shop located in Canandaigua, NY. They are known for their homemade, high-quality ice cream flavors. Each July, they create a unique flavor specifically for the Ontario County Tourism Office. The ambiance of the dining room could benefit from some noise reduction measures, but overall, the place is fantastic. They offer tasty snacks and mouthwatering quiche. The coffee is hot and flavorful.
Cheshire farms creamery is a community bakery which also sells ice-cream coffee and other food items. Check out their fb page to get a complete menu. The inside of the restaurant is clean and with plenty of tables comfortable booths and seating to welcome you to sit and enjoy for awhile. The atmosphere is inviting and comfortable. I especially liked the large sliding barn doors. My partner and I stopped in for ice cream. I was especially interested in the vegan varieties the Creamery had to offer. But I ended up ordering a sugar free moose paw in a bowl. After placing an order at the front counter server will write down your name and will call you up to the counter to pick up the food order. My order placed was a small moose paw sugar free ice cream in a bowl. The ice-cream size was more like a medium sized ice cream. Generous portions. Large plentiful pieces of dark choclate was distrubuted throughout the portion. Ice cream was sweet and deliciously creamy to taste. I highly reccomend the sugar free Moose paws if you have dietary restrictions. Cheshire FARMS Creamery has other items throughout for sale. Be sure to check out the fb page.

Updating my review from 3 years ago. 3 Stars as the ice cream is always good. Some may say the wait is worth it, but to others not. My husband and I got to Cheshire Creamery at 8:06pm on a Sunday evening. We left with our items to go at 8:46. There were 3 families that ordered ahead of us and 3 more that were waiting for their orders they already placed by the time we got there. Service is always consistently slow here. It may be the Creamery struggles with staffing as a lot of places are right now, however I can say from experience, service is always slow...even prior to Covid. Maybe it's a scheduling the right amount of people thing. I ordered a twist waffle cone with chocolate sprinkles. The twist initially came out with no sprinkles, so I asked and the woman who took the order didn't put it on the order. I verified with my husband that I did say chocolate sprinkles and he said yes, I did...any way after the clerk told me it wasn't on the order she put them on there anyway. This was nice. I was 3/4 done with my cone by the time my husband got his order of a brownie sundae made the way its on the menu, no special adds or substitutes. There were two men who also ordered brownie sundaes who were a few spots behind us in line. My husband received his sundae well after those two. No apology for the delay, no reason as to why his was given to him last and not in the order the orders are placed. I say make your own choice to go here. We have been plenty of times and the ice cream is so good. Service is lacking. I think they try. It's just not good. 3 years ago, 5 stars my review was: Always a great stop for a summer treat. Mostly crowded in the summer, but service is quick and the food is delicious. Atmosphere is nice. Always clean inside and cute decor.

Italian restaurant
Il Posto Bistro is a charming local trattoria that offers a warm and inviting atmosphere, serving up traditional Italian dishes alongside an impressive selection of wines. The restaurant is known for its homemade pasta, delectable pizzas, and an extensive wine list. However, what truly sets Il Posto apart is its decadent desserts that are the perfect way to end a meal.
In one simple sentence, I'd describe this place as a casual-dining, Italian Bistro with excellent service, exceptional food and well-balanced drinks. I'll start with our server, Kayley - that I immediately liked - but being our first time here - I didn't know whether her tastes aligned with ours and whether she could be 'trusted'. She absolutely earned it - when we go back I'll ask to be in her section. Her first recommendation was for a fried goat cheese balls - and we like goat cheese - but I'd describe this dish as perfection. The thinly-breaded exterior was golden brown and texturally executed perfectly; the cheesy interior held its shape but was slightly soft, the relish gave it some heat and the arugula gave it something fresh as well as slightly bitter, but in a good way. We both had drinks too - me the Fig Old-Fashioned and my better half had a salted caramel martini. Again Kayley described the martini as 'drinking dessert' - again, spot on description. I'm a bourbon fan - and I thought this Old-Fashioned was well balanced, a little bit of smoky/earthiness from the fig - and the bourbon was there, but not bashing you over the head. Our entrees included the Bolognese and Gorgonzola. We only ate half to save room for dessert - and again both were excellent - and still great when we had the leftovers for lunch then extra day. Be aware - the gorgonzola 'funk' isn't for everybody - this dish was probably my least favorite of the night; but it was still very good. I liked it better the next day cold - my only suggestion would be to boost the ratio of asparagus and mushrooms. We came for the Tiramisu - and ended up getting that one to go when (again, thanks to Kayley) we heard about the chocolate boudino and a bourbon-apple, amaretto panna cotta. The turamiso was breakfast the next day - and still wonderful, the boudino - be warned - was roll-your-eyes-back-in-your-head-in-a-good-way sweet, and the Panna cotta was nice. Best meal we've had from beginning to end in a very long time.

Went there for dinner prior to going to a local concert. Everything was booked up, but they were able to fit us in at the bar. The bartender was our server and she did a wonderful job. I ordered the gnocchi and thought they were wonderful. If you’ve had gnocchi you know the key is how long they’re cooked and these were perfect. Also did the beet salad as an appetizer which was terrific. Would give them an unequivocal thumbs up and highly recommend.

This is the kind of restaurant you dream of finding. Small but cozy. Refined but not stodgy. Quiet but not empty. Each bite of food was satisfying to the eye and delivered on the flavor. The food was prepared with such care and the service was so friendly and helpful. The only draw back is that we live so far away from it. My wife and I wished we tried everything on the menu!

Our experience here was amazing. The homemade ricotta was the best I've ever had. The atmosphere was unlike another establishment in Canandaigua. Patrick made an awesome espresso martini and dessert was magnificent. We will definitely be back.

This is our new go-to restaurant in Canandaigua! Chris Ventura and Wendy Loveless have created a cozy, friendly and most importantly - delicious addition to Main Street. I haven't met a sauce that Chris makes that I haven't loved. From starters to deserts we have been delighted by what he's cooking up. Most recently we had the Braised Octopus and Utica Greens to start. The Octopus was perfectly cooked and paired with vinegar potatoes with a sauce that is to die for - multiple layers of texture and flavor. The Utica Greens are beyond. The flavor comes in waves and while it does bring some heat, I love some spice, so it was a win all around. Next we shared an order of my new favorite: Ali Amatriciana - the sauce is fantastic - again, very complex (5 stars for finding Guianciale!) but the house made potato gnocchi is the star. They were the most perfect pillowy potato gnocchi I have ever had. With a side of Rapini we were oh so happy and full! Oh, and on Monday's no corkage fee (being that we went on Jan 1st we brought our favorite bubbles) but I started with a surprisingly (only because I couldn't imagine how all the flavors would come together) Bullet Rye cocktail (a take on an old fashioned I think) that was supper yummy. This review is making me hungry lol But in all seriousness, Welcome to Canandaigua. We are so grateful you're here!

Drove from Syracuse after checking them out online!! What a great spot! Cozy, warm, friendly service! Outstanding regional Italian food! Looking forward to coming back soon!

Delicious food and great service! My favorite dish was the Carbonara with bucatini pasta. It was sooo good. I could have eaten that whole plate of pasta by myself, but it was also good to share with my dinner partner. She ordered the Steak and Fries. The dish came with two separate pieces of steak, which were perfect for us to share. We ordered the steak medium rare and it was cooked to perfection. The steak was tender and juicy, but not bloody. The side of Rapini, the Braised Octopus, and my Lavender Citrus mocktail were also delicious and rounded out the meal well. I really don't think you can go wrong with anything you order here. Highly recommend!

Great food, outstanding service for this quaint little thirtyish seat bistro. The grilled octopus and grilled bread are a can’t miss. My son and I both had the Bolognese and were duly impressed by the care and perfect perfection put in by the chef. Highly recommended!

I wanted to rate higher because the flavors of everything were really really good BUT, there was soooo much grease in my Pad Kee Mao that it kind of turned me off. It tasted really good but I had to drain some if the oil.

Haven't had a bad meal here and we've been coming since it opened. We eat here quite often. I love the way they change the menus frequently. And those homemade desserts are excellent. Very friendly atmosphere. The owners and staff are great!

Such a great little restaurant! The staff was wonderful, the owner wander around the restaurant and checked in with everyone answering questions and helping the servers. The food was DELICIOUS! We got the summer rolls, pork ball app, and Tom Yum soup. The pork was very flavorful but pretty salty (to balance it out I ate it with the sticky rice) The entree was incredibly smoky in the most amazing way and everything was cooked to perfection!! Check it out!!!!!

First time here, wasn't sure what to expect. Everything was superb! I got the veggies with fried tofu and it was delightful. The veggies were cooked perfectly - not too soft, but not "raw" either. It has a nice light sauce instead of your traditional gooey sauce in most other Thai restaurants. I had the ginger lime tea that was very gingery with fresh bits of ginger and was nice and refreshing. For dessert I had the apple rolls that were made with local apples. Very good! My mother had the concord grape sorbet that I passed on (and now wish I hadn't) that was AMAZING. It was made from local grapes and was just the right amount of sweet and tang. Service was super. I am excited to return and hope they are around for a long time!

Amazing, not only one of the best restaurants in the area, but one of the best I've been to period. The unique flavors mesh together amazingly well, and every dish is perfectly cooked. I love the Tom Zapp (very spicy) pork bone soup, but there are so many delicious rotating menu items that is difficult to decide what to have every time.

French restaurant
Nestled in the charming town of Canandaigua, Bon Ami French Bistro offers a delightful culinary experience that beautifully blends French and Italian influences. This bistro is known for its creative dishes, such as galettes filled with savory Italian sausage and drizzled in a rich parmesan cream sauce. Diners can also savor tender pork cutlets enhanced by a cider-bourbon glaze, or indulge in the classic steak au poivre, elegantly finished with cognac.
What a gem! One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. The service was on point — attentive but never intrusive. I had the lamb chops, which were perfectly cooked and full of flavor. My sister had the Linguine Picante and loved it. We finished with the crème brûlée, which looked almost too good to eat and tasted amazing. Highly recommend checking this place out.

My husband and I were in Canandaigua for a work-related trip. We were fortunate enough to get reservations at Bon Ami. The ambiance was absolutely lovely. The soup of the day was clam chowder, and it was one of the best clam chowders I've ever had outside of the New England area. We received welcomed recommendations on the food and wine pairings. The sauces on my husband's lamb and on my duck entrees were just perfect. There were several occasions where the staff checked up on us to ensure that the food and drink was satisfactory. We cannot recommend this restaurant enough!

Loved this place. Food was amazing. The owner,George- was great and very friendly. And the bartender Ryan was very attentive to guests. Loved it.

In a world where everything is homogenized… this little place has held onto its authenticity. The food is delicious and properly portioned. The staff very evidently enjoy each other’s company (and do this on the side) and it shows. And George is a character barré none. I recommend sitting at the bar. I had two nights in Canandaigua and moved my second evening res from Nolan’s to this happy little spot to bring my family out for a guaranteed great evening. (I enjoyed lamb, the bar tenders wine recommendation, and the bread pudding). Cheers!

Highly highly recommend trying this lovely place out, food was too notch - the most perfectly cooked scallops I've ever had! There was a bit of a hiccup as we called to push our reservation but unfortunately it wasn't communicated to other staff so our seats were given away however within 10 minutes we had an even better table than the original! The owners were just fantastic and made the experience one to remember!
Paige K — Google review
The food was fine but really nothing special. I don't remember the last time I saw mandarin oranges in a salad. My husband's steak was kind of tough despite being rare. The one thing we both liked was the French onion soup.
Nathaniel S — Google review
What a fantastic place! The food was exceptional and our server was top notch. The owners are on site to oversee everything and stopped by the table to chat and make sure all their customers were happy. Make sure to order the French onion soup!
Patricia G — Google review
Party of 5, appetizers ordered were octopus (a special). It was decent, tender but I've had a better prepared dish. Needed more char though the potatoes underneath were perfect. The entrees were the star of the show: two orders of shrimp with vodka sauce and the chef and waiter were accommodating enough to allow us to add chicken. I've never had a better vodka sauce. Amazing. One of our party had the chicken gorgonzola, loved it. The other two dishes were the salmon risotto and the scallops. Both top of the line. I've eaten all over the world and those dishes were among the best. I would say the bread provided was almost unnecessary. Small and not impressive. But the service, owner, ambience and main dinners were as good as it gets. I'll be returning soon. Update: visited again and was outstanding once more. Bouillabaisse was amazing but I really want to amend my previous critique of the bread: it was wonderful this time. They added garlic, rosemary seasoning which was delightful. So good!

Italian grocery store
Casa Italiana is a family-owned market and deli that offers sub sandwiches, pizza, imported meats, cheeses, and treats. This hidden gem was discovered during a vacation in the area and has proven to be an exceptional find. The subs are excellent, surpassing anything available back home. A helpful young lady recommended trying the garlic parm wings from the adjacent pizza place, which turned out to be delicious.
The best sheet pizzas! So much flavor and a great price. We asked for a,small pizza for my super picky son who won't eat sheet pizza because it's square with no extra oregano or anything on top. And he ate it! Thank you guys for being so helpful over the phone when I ordered it. I really appreciate it

So much to love here. The Subs are fantastic! Baked goods are always delicious. Pizza is solid. Service is always great and everyone’s been friendly in our experience. They often get busy around dinner time so be prepared for a little wait but it’s worth it. Nice selection of items throughout the store.

This review is for the PIZZA only. The actual deli and the sandwiches are fantastic and highly recommend if in the area! For the pizza, well it is FAR from NY style pizza. Imagine a thick, tasty Domino's pizza. I wish I would have taken a picture. The pizza was fresh, hot and the flavors were decent, but in no way, shape or form, was this a thin crust, NY style pizza.

Nothing I can say bad about this place! You want traditional deli hospitality as well as quality go here. I've never had anything that wasn't delicious or fresh here, sausage is amazing, fresh mozzarella, fresh breads, cookies, my favorite is the prosciutto stuffed peppers! Everyone is friendly and they go out of their way to help you out!

Typical small Italian grocery/ deli. And, if you know what these small family owned stores are like, then you know typical = fantastic! They sell a balsamic and olive oil bread dip made locally that is very good. Also, they have some local spaghetti sauce (gravy if your Italian) that is top notch.

Day 3

Off the beaten path
For day 3, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Bristol Mountain Ski Resort. Not quite as popular as Sonnenberg Gardens & Mansion State Historic Park, but still highly rated among many travelers. Accounting for getting around and average time spent, today’s activities could take about 7 hours.

Bristol Mountain Ski Resort is a popular destination for skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts, located in the picturesque Canandaigua. It features 35 downhill trails, 2 terrain parks, and a cross-country ski area with rental shops available. The resort offers a variety of slopes and trails suitable for all skill levels, from beginner to expert.
We took the ski lift to the top of the mountain. The autumn leaves were beautiful, the views were amazing, and the hikes were great. We had such a great time. We aren’t skiers, but the summertime activities are definitely on our list next year.

We had a great experience. Bunny slopes were good enough for most of our party. The one experience person enjoyed the bigger slopes. Wish the coffee shop had a bigger selection of lattes. Also, the common area was extremely crowded with limited seating and garbage cans in certain areas were overflowing. Didn’t get a chance to visit the restaurant.

Not bad. Fun and definitely a challenge for the kids. We did the twilight pass. Four waters is $30.00 (seasonal I guess ). I had to remind a group that smoking weed in public was not allowed. The gentleman said he worked there and they’re allowed. Yet to hear from management or owners.
Michael D — Google review
Bristol Mountain provides an exceptional skiing experience for families of diverse skill levels. Beginners will find the bunny hill suitable, while advanced skiers can enjoy challenging slopes. The resort's well-maintained trails, efficient lift system, and welcoming atmosphere contribute to a highly enjoyable visit. The Morning Star Cafe offers convenient and warming refreshments between runs. We highly recommend Bristol Mountain.

IT WAS MY FIRST EVER SKI EXPERIENCE!!! We paid $121 (tax included) for a first timer lesson. Which includes 1.5hrs of the actual lesson, lift pass & rentals (boots, ski, poles (?)). Helmet is rented separately. Apparently, You can’t use ordinary clothing/ pants. You must really have the waterproof ski pants/ ski suits (v expensive btw) which are not included in the rental. But there’s a shop inside one of the lodges that sells almost everything you need for skiing/ snowboarding for a (reasonable) price. That shop also sells Bristol Mountain merchandise (tempted to buy the cap but I had to control myself lol). The first timer lesson was so much fun! Mark and Issey were very helpful and they made it fun & comfortable! I’m glad & proud of myself that even before the class concluded, I was able to go down the beginner’s slope with a bit of control and without falling 😋 PS: I did a 15 min whole body stretching before the activity and took magnesium supplement so that my body won’t hurt much the day after. Mind you, it still hurt but very bearable!!! Food: there is a starbucks kiosk and the burrito bowl at the foodcourt is soo good (or maybe i was too hungry? Lol)!!!

This is a great place! As a beginner, I really enjoy the green trail, which is easy for me to navigate while learning. The food here is delicious, the locker room is nice, and the rental options are good. There's also a small gift shop. The best part is that there's free parking!

My wife and I got married at Bristol Mountain at a perfect summit location ! The reception was at the rocket lounge at the base and we took the ski lift to the ceremony location and then back down to the base ! The views were amazing! The food was great! Diana took very good care of us and had everything set up beautifully!! It was hot on July 5th but it all turned out great! We would recommend Bristol mountain ski resort to everyone!!! Thanks Diana and the Bristol team !! Can’t wait to come visit again!

Fall Festival was fun. They brought in various art booths & food trucks plus 1 beer/wine vendor (for top and bottom). That was an issue. The line was 10-15 minutes long at the bottom stand. Mountain top one was better. The vendors were struggling making change and using the credit card machine. 1 person serving and 1 cashier. I'm giving 5 stars for Bristol, but they need to work on this for next time.

Onanda Park, located on the west side of Canandaigua Lake, offers two distinct areas for visitors to enjoy. The lakefront section provides beach access and a spacious open yard for relaxation and games, along with amenities like a playground and volleyball courts. Meanwhile, the Uplands area features 73 acres of hillside terrain with two miles of well-maintained hiking trails offering scenic views of a gorge and waterfall from lookout decks. Additionally, there are rustic benches along the trails for resting.
This is a beautiful park! We went during the off season but we plan to go back during the regular on season. The hiking trails are great with glimpses of a waterfall. Lots of uphill walking though, so be aware of that. Definitely want to come back to launch my kayak here and maybe even rent a cabin to enjoy a few days of swimming and relaxing. Looks really clean and well taken care of. We enjoyed our outing here for the day.

I absolutly love this place, the staff was more then welcoming and very helpful. Planning on doing our Wedding here! 💚💙 They have everything you could possibly need and at great affordable prices, can't beat it!

The majesty of Lake Canandaigua rolls out along the pristine shores of Onanda Park, where all you need is an Adirondack chair, a full sun, or a thousand stars to guide you to heaven. This spot is a must-see if you’re staying around the Canandaigua area, specifically off Westlake. It’s a short drive from downtown and the hustle and bustle of Main Street, and an oasis of solitude if you’re looking to escape. I’m an avid distance runner, so I recommend running a stretch of Westlake and hitting this as a destination or a stop along the way. Don’t miss the trails directly across the street from the entrance. A nice little hike where you might encounter wild deer.
Matthew G — Google review
Beautiful little area. We just moved to the area & still figuring it all out! Lots of room to sit with family/friends or going for a swim! I personally wish you were able to go for a walk near the water @ this location but that’s okay many other areas on Canandaigua lake!! All the hiking trails are across the street which is very convenient!
Leaha R — Google review
The park itself is beautiful, with docks to walk out over the water, a swim area that had a life guard, cabins along the side but the whe thing was kind of small. No big open fields of grass for frisbee or football, the camping areas were small and not many pavilions if you need cover from rain. The water looked gorgeous, even as you get close to the park all the houses are beautiful as well. Parking is a trick too, one lot is super close. The other is a hike.
Zachariah C — Google review
Very well maintained grounds state park w/ boat launch & cabins to rent. Awesome vantage point on the lake about halfway down the west side going south. Picnic areas & restroom facilities on site - vast hiking area across the street.

The pavilion was pretty useful there, only one bathroom in it though. Parking was crazy to find inside. We had to park across the street, up on the hill and walk down to the park. Once we were there though, the view was beautiful. Small roped off swimming area with lifeguards, was available.

Visited Lock Stock Bar & Grill on a Sunday evening, where the service was excellent and the food scrumptious. The washrooms were impeccably clean. Opted for their delectable Black Bean burger, which was prepared without any dairy. It turned out to be one of the finest veggie burgers ever tasted! My husband thoroughly enjoyed his burger too and couldn't stop raving about the tasty fries. Despite being done by 9 pm, we didn't feel rushed at all.

It was melting in his mouth. I got the veggies no butter because I’m a vegan and the cook made mine making sure there were no cross contaminations which was SO mindful and thoughtful! The waitress was so knowledgeable about the food, very attentive and was so nice. Thanks for telling the cook I was vegan! Means a lot. We live an hour away but we will definitely be back this way!!! As always the ice cream was superb and I love that they fill the waffle cones with a little bit of chocolate in the bottom to keep the ice cream from dripping. If you're on the hunt for a delightful culinary experience in Canandaigua, look no further than Rio Tomatlan. This charming Mexican restaurant, run by a passionate husband-and-wife duo, offers an inviting atmosphere that perfectly complements its menu of traditional dishes. With an emphasis on fresh and locally sourced ingredients, you can indulge in mouthwatering options like chicken tinga tacos and mole poblano.
We had Rio cater our wedding in Naples and they went above and beyond all we had hoped for. Molly and her crew amazed all of us with their professionalism, ability to adapt, warmth, and organization. Molly was absolutely amazing to work with - she made sure we were taken care of completely from the first tasting, the last hour of our wedding. She had an amazing attitude and served us well. And this is all alongside AMAZING food. Our guests loved it, and so did we. We will suggest Rio to EVERYONE. Thank you everyone, we were so blessed by everything you did. The photo is from a tasting that Molly did for us after our initial one to accommodate my fiances schedule :)

We came for an early dinner and were seated quickly at a cute and cozy table. This place is a little off the Main Street so it wasn’t super busy which was a plus. We ordered 2 margaritas, barbacoa tostadas and flautas de pollo. The food was seasoned and cooked well, lots of fresh ingredients and tasted authentic. Beer battered tilapia tacos were amazing BUT she upsold me $7 for rice and beans without clear warning which does annoy me so I’ll just leave that here. Food also could have done with some more heat, it was very mild.

Excellent authentic Mexican food. We love the sopes, Chipotle chicken, and tacos sarandeos with salmon and spicy sauce. Excellent guacamole with pumpkin seeds and spicy chile oil. Dishes topped with pickled onions, shredded cabbage, cotija cheese and crema. Highly recommended, have eaten here for years.

Do not go if you have allergies. They do not have dairy or allergens marked on any meals. Their guacamole has cheese in it that is not listed anywhere. They brought us back more cheeses guacamole after telling them of the dairy allergy. They then continued to charge us for it. The chicken is shredded, which is crazy at 24$

Located in Canandaigua, Twisted Rail Brewing offers a wide selection of beers and cocktails for visitors to enjoy while taking in the scenic views of the nearby lake and canal. The brewery features outdoor seating on a charming deck, making it a great spot to relax and watch kayakers and paddle boarders pass by. With options ranging from stouts to wheat beers to sours, there's something for every beer enthusiast.
First Time at Twisted Rail...very friendly staff. Moved here from New Jersey about 5 years ago and had no idea they had a barbecue pit and it's freaking good! The pulled pork was awesome salt potatoes macaroni salad no complaints whatsoever food was top quality.... Susie came by just to check on us to see how things were going... She saw we were struggling with selfies and offered to take some photos... Although she was not an owner of the joint she walked around checking up on things like she was... Great experience. I'm more of a wine guy but my "Lake to Lake" summer selection was refreshing and was one of their lightest beers.... Nice outdoor seating and views of the lake. Would definitely go back for the barbecue and the beer!!! Nice job!

We stopped for lunch. It's okay, I would not pick it again. Our food came out quickly. My wife liked the chicken salad wrap. I had the beef on weck. Everything was ok.

Extensive local and regional beer selection and a purple, lavender grape cider. Daily special was yummy buffalo chicken flatbread for 2. Friendly service You order food at the bar. Buzzer when it’s ready. No servers. Reasonable prices. Live music Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays

Neat little place at the top of the lake. Beer is fantastic. What more do you need.
Martin K — Google review
Walked in while only 2 other people were there and told the lady that we had a group of 20. She acted extremely annoyed (my thoughts would be $$!). Food came out pretty fast and was good. Beer was good. The atmosphere was lacking even though it’s right on the water. Also, need to work on securing their umbrellas. One flew out and hit someone in our group leaving a bruise on their shoulder.

At least a dozen beers to try! I had the excellent hefeweisen. Great view of Canandaigua lake.

Loved this place! Dog and kid friendly. Really friendly staff and service. Great space with lots of options: outside on deck or by the creek, inside there’s also an upstairs. We had a lovely stroll in the park and then came here for some refreshment on the deck with two dogs and two kids. It started to rain and they let us all inside! We had the beef on weck, pizza, soft pretzels, and beef sandwich from the regular kitchen, and pulled pork, brisket, corn and coleslaw from the BBQ out back. All of it was so good, and the pulled pork and pizza was especially popular with the kids. We tried all sorts of beers, as they have beer flights, didn’t have one we didn’t like. But we went for round two of the NEIPA and the smoothie gose. They had some NA beer cans in the fridge for those of us who do not imbibe. If you’re in the area I definitely recommend this place enthusiastically.

We enjoy pretty much everything about this place. It's got a fantastic location and the building is great with lots of room and great views. The beer is awesome a great selection all made in house, it's great to see a brewing company stick to something different (ales and porters) vs IPAs. Everything we tried we enjoyed and for those of you who don't enjoy beer the offer cocktails wine and cider. The experience is rounded off with a nice short food menu all and all a great stop there's a reason they keep growing.

Indian restaurant
Flavors Indian Restaurant in Canandaigua is a laid-back dining spot that serves up classic Indian dishes like samosas and tandoori. The restaurant offers an inviting atmosphere and features a daily buffet with plenty of options for vegans. Their menu showcases authentic Southern Indian cuisine, known for its spicier flavors and traditional pairings with rice and lentils. It's a great place to enjoy fine dining while savoring the rich tastes of India.
Decided to give them a try based on high reviews on Uber Eats and Google and it did not disappoint. Great service and delicious and tasty meals. Tried their Vegetable Samosa and a goat and chicken tiki Masada and curry. Naan bread was also very delicious. Will definitely comeback next time we are visiting.

This was the first time eating here at Flavors. A friend of mine raved about it! We were there on a Friday night and it wasn't busy just a few other tables but it was around 7pm when we went there to eat. The atmosphere is very calm and relaxing. The food very authentic Indian and came out quickly. Definitely try this place if you like to try something new or just even like Indian cuisine.

For what it is, this place is awesome. Eat in or take out. It is just a great option. It is not very fancy or "high end" But the service is always top notch and the food is as good as any Indian food as you are going to find. I've tried virtually everything on the menu it is "all good!". They have a great drink selection as well as well as many vegetarian options. This really is a place where you can't go wrong bringing friends and family.

Definitely have to try this business when I don’t have to do takeout. The food was warm and delicious. Generous portions. I’ve heard it’s a hidden gem in Canandaigua but have never been able to visit. The food was good. But I’m a believer that it’s better in person/in dining. I don’t think it gave me the wow that everyone talks about locally with takeout. Staff was super friendly. Plenty of parking.

Stopped here on our way to Rochester and loved all of the food here. Food was served swiftly and everything was fresh. Kudos to the owner who treated us very well, he was really friendly and gave my son a truck which made my son so happy. When my father was collecting all of my son’s stuff, the owner rushed to bring a bag back to help him out. If we ever come back here, will surely stop by. Thank you for your food and service!

Nestled in a charming former train depot, the Bee Hive Brew Pub is an inviting destination for those seeking a laid-back atmosphere paired with delicious pub fare and an impressive selection of brews. With 32 beers on draft, including unique craft options brewed right on-site, this spot is perfect for beer enthusiasts. Had lunch with friend. The chicken terriacki salad was delicious. I'm going back. She had tuna sandwich which they accommodated a melt for sandwich and she loved it. Wheat berry bread i think, looked great. I had looked for a local lunch restaurant with good salads. Most restaurants didn't open until 4. I highly recommend it. Kudos to staff and chef.

There was only one server on so I felt bad but she only had 2 tables. We were one of them. It took us over an hour to get our food and we were there for almost 2 hours all together. They charge you 2 dollars to substitute fries and then they only give you like 8 fries! I had one little baby slice of avocado on my tacos.. I'll never go back. And my father in-law had lipstick on his beer glass lol

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bee Hive Brew Pub, and I must say, it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The food, atmosphere, and service all combined to make it a memorable visit. The culinary journey began with the Pepper Bites, and they were nothing short of excellent. The perfect blend of flavors and textures made them a true appetizer to die for. Following that, the Chicken and Waffles dish showcased a harmonious combination of savory and sweet, earning its place as a standout on the menu. What impressed me further was the availability of gluten-free options, particularly the pizza. It's always refreshing to see a restaurant catering to various dietary needs without compromising on taste. The Gluten-Free pizza at Bee Hive Brew Pub was not only a thoughtful inclusion but also a delicious one. For those seeking a bit of heat, the Jalapeno Burger proved to be a winner. The bold flavors of the burger were complemented by the perfect amount of spice, making it a satisfying choice for those who enjoy a bit of kick in their meal. Beyond the culinary delights, the ambiance of Bee Hive Brew Pub was inviting, with ample seating that accommodated my family comfortably. The establishment is situated in a nice area, adding to the overall pleasant dining experience. Lastly, the staff at Bee Hive Brew Pub truly stood out. Their warmth and attentiveness added a personal touch to the evening, making us feel welcomed and well taken care of throughout our visit. In conclusion, Bee Hive Brew Pub is a gem for food enthusiasts seeking a diverse menu, a comfortable setting, and friendly service. I highly recommend it for a satisfying dining experience that caters to a range of tastes and preferences.

I asked about if something had egg in it as I have an allergy and the waitress said she didn't know and the cook wouldn't know. Which made no sense to me, is the cook not making the dishes? Then I ordered a salad and she brought me a salad with mayo in it and acted like she was doing me a favor by not adding it to the bill. I didn't even want to order anything else because the food just looked gross. My poor husbands chicken sandwich was inedible but he was too nice to say anything. On top of this the place was dirty, and the service was insanely slow despite it not being busy. Horrible service, and disgusting food! We came here on a night of a concert and wondered why this was the only place not packed. Now we know! Waste of time and money.

I LOVE this park and surrounding grounds. We ALWAYS stop here on the way back home to Baldwinsville. The location is PERFECT and I love that most recently they have added a larger pirate ship in the back. There is a TON for the kids to do here and the surrounding lawns and treeline are beautiful. What I find most appealing is the grounds and equipment maintenance, you can definitely tell there are people on sight to keep the park clean and SAFE for the public. The rest rooms are also very clean. I did see about a month ago it looked like a new Splash Pad was being built across the road, opening the weekend of father's day. I am certainly looking forward to stopping to check that out the next time we are in the area.

This park and playground is amazing! My 4 yo son had a blast on the pirate ship themed equipment! He couldn't get enough of the tall slides. Plenty of benches for parents to sit, super clean restroom facility, paved walking track and of course pavilions. They used rubber mulch instead of lumber as a base for the playground. Plenty of parking. We find playgrounds everywhere we travel, this is one of the best!

We were the first table sat prior to opening at regular time which I appreciated but ended up not getting our dinner til at least an hour and a half after sitting. We did not get appetizers and when asking management what was taking so long, they were not sympathetic but just blamed it on the server which I believe was training. A trainee should not be responsible for an 11 top without help and the management should have not blamed the server but instead checked into why it was taking so long and been apologetic. We were there over 2 1/2 hours for just dinner and was sat an hour prior to opening.

This place was amazing. Food was so good. My husband got the shrimp and scallop diovlo spaghetti and I had the special which was Mediterranean shrimp and scallops. The sauce on mine was to die for. We also has 2 cannolis that were just perfect. We love going to places where it is family owned and they come out and see how your dinner was. You just don't see that anymore. So down to earth. There was also a father and son eating and the owner came out and asked the little boy if he wanted a meatball and the boy was just so excited and shocked on how big it was. Just to see the smiles from everyone was great. I would highly recommend this restaurant and we will be going back again for sure

Wally's Pub in Canandaigua is widely regarded as the top establishment of its kind. It has gained a reputation for its exceptional chicken wings, which many customers have enjoyed since childhood and continue to indulge in as adults. The golden sauce, in particular, is highly recommended due to its incredible flavor. Aside from the delicious food, Wally's Pub also offers a warm and inviting atmosphere. Throughout the pandemic, they have implemented excellent safety measures to ensure their patrons' well-being.

This place is truly a dive bar. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. If you like dive bars, this is the place for you. I don’t necessarily think I am not a fan, but I’m just not a fan due to them being cash only this day in age and that the place smells like a mop bucket the two times I’ve visited. I know they’re a popular dive bar in my area, they just aren’t for me. The staff really do make the place and are beyond friendly.

I’ve been hearing for a while that the Wally burger is good, so decided to check it out. The bar is cash only, and the bartender actually cooks all the food. Pretty wild to me. Patty's Place

Breakfast restaurant
Patty's Place is a popular morning spot in America, known for its hearty breakfasts like pancakes and omelets. Despite receiving a five-star rating overall, the subdivisions only show four stars, which is intriguing. However, the restaurant does deserve the high rating with a few considerations. The food was generally exceptional, except for the pancakes which were not fluffy or flavorful. It seems that a diner's quality could be judged by their pancake quality alone.
In my quest to feed 12 big fellas for a bachelor party weekend, in a search for an amazing “sticks to your bones, classic, and delicious” type of meal I stumbled across Patty’s Place. They don’t publicly advertise it but after a few calls with Renne & Jenny we got everything set up. The quality of food was impeccable, the quantity and price were perfect. The cinnamon roll pancakes were 11/10 and thrown in for no extra charge. Would highly recommend this place to anyone for a dine in style or for their new catering service. Thank you again, guys!
Tyler L — Google review
I need to be absolutely clear about my experience at Patty’s Place: this diner is deeply racist. As a Black customer, I walked in expecting a simple breakfast, and instead I was met with cold stares, disrespect, and open discrimination from every waitress in the building. The message was loud and clear—I was not welcome there because of the color of my skin. This wasn’t a misunderstanding. This wasn’t poor service. This was blatant racism, carried out without shame in front of everyone. That kind of treatment leaves you angry, humiliated, and hurt—feelings no human being should ever have to experience just for existing in a public space. Patty’s Place is, without question, one of the most racist establishments in Canandaigua, New York. And people need to know this. If you are Black, or if you stand against racism in any form, do not give this diner your money. Supporting a place that openly discriminates only enables their behavior. We live in a time where there is no excuse for this. This isn’t just about bad service—it’s about dignity, humanity, and the right to be treated equally. Patty’s Place failed on every level, and I will never return.
Mike J — Google review
We ate here on the first day of our vacation and were very pleased. The waitress was very welcoming and the food was phenomenal! I had the Quiche and it was probably the best I’ve ever had. It was served with fresh strawberries, blueberries and grapes. My husband’s breakfast looked equally as good. He judges diners by their homefries and he said they were excellent.
Mary R — Google review
The staff moves slow, forgot half of what I ordered, way over priced, and hardly accommodating. A very small place with rude regulars that feel entitled to take up the entire space. Will never even give a second thought let alone second chance.

I don't normally leave reviews for a restaurant, but I wanted to leave a few words for my family’s favorite restaurant, Patty's Place. Our family has been a regular at Patty's for about 6-7 years at this point. I know there has been a recent claim that Patty's place was "racist", but our experience has been quite the contrary to say the least. Canandaigua is a magical place for me, but what makes Canandaigua even more special is that I could always turn to Patty's for a quick cup of Joe or to have a wonderful meal with the family or friends. I'm not saying Patty's place is not without any issues or flaws. Patty's place is old (to say the least). The bathroom is in a closet that I would imagine where Harry Potter would be housed in. I would also imagine that the kitchen is not in the most "updated" condition either. However, these small "miscreants" really make this place even more special. In a span or 6-7 years, I've been to this restaurant about 100 times, and I've always been greeted with the warmest smile by every person who works there. When friends are in town, the first place I bring them to is Patty's. The staff members always recognize our family, and they even know our favorite menus at this point. If you have not tried their “vegetarian” Benny’s, please do. I could honestly say that I have never eaten anything “vegetarian” on purpose EVER, but Patty’s place is an exception. Please also order sausage (NOT THE FROZE ONES but ask for a patty!). I work in a stressful profession that requires long hours and that causes mental anguish at times. However, Patty’s place always has been a place of sanctuary that I run to in order to catch my breath. For myself and my family, Patty’s place has now become a place of cherished memories that I wish to pass onto my family members and children. If your experience was bad, I’d ask you to give Patty’s one more try before you make up your mind. -David Kang, esq.-

The pizza is very good and the staff are nice and friendly. The dining rooms would be much nicer if they replaced the old worn-out, torn, stained carpeting. This drags down your dining experience and makes the place look really bad. The mens room door needs a cleaning.

We ordered a couple of pies and some garlic bread for the big game this past Sunday. It's been a minute since we've ordered pizza from pontillos. My brother and I ordered 2 kinds of pizzas. 1 garlic sauce and 1 traditional. Both had sausage on them, because they have the best sausage around for pizza!! Then some other toppings. It always tastes great. Never had a bad pie from pontillos. I've recommended this place. To people that aren't from the area. When they ask where they can get a really good pizza.

This is my favorite place in town to eat pizza. I like the thin a bit well done peperoni pie. Absolutely delicious. The staff was super friendly and very welcoming. The place looks clean and cared for. I am sure a great experience awaits anyone.

First time ordering here in years and I’m not sure if I just got unlucky or this is normal but the pepperoni pizza I ordered was severely undercooked, borderline raw towards the middle. Sauce and cheese has good flavor though. Lack of cup char pepperoni is disappointing. Customer service was however excellent.

Delicious pizza, great for canandaigua carry out. I do wish they had packets for Parmesan and crushed red pepper

Been coming here for the better part of two decades. The consistency of Pontillo’s is insane. Out of all the times we’ve come over the years (~once a month), we’ve only ever had one pie that was maybe just a little overdone (and it was still delicious!). We love Pontillo’s and it will always be our first pick for pizza when we are around!
