Coffee shop
Rough Draft Bar & Books in Kingston, New York is a unique establishment that combines the charm of a bookstore with the comfort of a bar and cafe. Located in the historic Kingston Academy building, this rustic tavern offers an extensive selection of draft beer, cider, coffee, and wine alongside delicious baked goods. The cozy atmosphere and inviting coffee bar make it the perfect place to relax with a good book or engage in lively conversations with fellow book lovers.
A charming and cozy spot with fantastic coffee and delicious food! The almond croissant was absolutely divine - flaky, buttery, and just the right amount of sweetness. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee mixed with the scent of books creates an unforgettable atmosphere. I’ll definitely be returning. If you’re in the area, this place is a must-visit!

We took a quick getaway trip to Kingston - our first time there. We stopped off at Rough Draft Bar & Books and it did not disappoint. The book selection was good, and my kids liked the kids section. I did end up picking up one book on my list which always makes me happy. My husband and I both had caffeinated drinks while we were there: mine was a mocha, he had one of their specials: Lav-ender’s Game. That one was interesting, you have to try it to see what I mean. If you are in Kingston put this place on your list - I kind of wish we had one closer to us! :)
Rosa V — Google review
The highlight of Kingston IMO! This is a place conducive for thinking, reading, ruminating, socialising, people watching, imbibing and just dwelling. You can browse their books while having a drink (beer or coffee). It’s also kid-friendly, with an ample kids section of books. Spent 2 hours here and felt like I could spend many more!
Glenvicia S — Google review
Influenced by Tik Tok, my girlfriend and I made our way to the Hudson Valley from CT on a day trip to check out this book store. It’s adorable and exactly as advertised. The book selection is great, the coffee fantastic, and the beer on tap is excellent. We’ll definitely be back!

Cool place to go anytime of day. Lots of different seating and good variety of drinks. You can get your 3 drinks, one for caffeine, one for hydration, and one for fun. Good selection of books too (I'm not a big reader but, I even found something for me).

Great place !! Delicious coffee., my only recommendation is on Sundays arrive a bit early because it gets a bit crowded!! But everything else amazing
Andres H — Google review
My daughter found this place on a Google search so we took backwoods to enjoy a beautiful day to visit and eat. Very nice atmosphere but we both felt that it is a place for "regulars". We didn't eat there because there was a line and after checking the place out and feeling uncomfortable, we left. There were 2 people at the book help station but neither could be bothered to look our way, I stood there trying to get their attention to ask a question. So, 3 stars because we loved the decor and concept, but that was about it. We did not get food or drink, so no comment on that.
Michele B — Google review
Nice place with pretty good prices. People are friendly. They need though to get Decaf regular coffee. And tops that don’t leak out. If you’re walking with the coffee, it spills out because the top doesn’t close fully. There’s a small opening to drink from. 🤷‍♂️🙃 The Lord’s blessings and hope! Gospel John, 1:8-14!

Brunch restaurant
PAKT is a charming find in upstate, offering impressive vegan options and friendly service. The restaurant serves creative cocktails and delicious daily specials like red velvet cake French toast. Despite being understaffed during a visit, the accommodating staff ensured a wonderful dining experience. PAKT also hosts queer nightlife events such as drag shows and trivia, making it a must-visit spot for both locals and travelers alike.
We had made same day reservations for a bigger table (6 adults and 3 kids) on a rainy Sunday labor day weekend, and Dan was kind enough to accommodate our same day request and gave us a nice indoor table. Dan was clear at arrival about the fact that he was understaffed by 2 people and so understandably the service was slightly slower and explained this to us in a humorously convincing way. None the less, we were seated, placed our orders, and had a wonderful time under Dan's hospitality. And yes, if it isn't clear by now, Dan was one of the features of our visit to PAKT that made it a bit of an entertaining experience for us. Food Review: Let me begin by saying that food overall here was absolutely delicious and flavorful. We ordered a few things which included Biscuit N gravy ($14), their Award-Winning Mac and Cheese ($10) - which was a perfect portion for our 5 year old, a BLT Bene ($16), Jethro ($16), Egg Skillet ($13) one with crab cake and one with chicken, and a vegan option ordered by me, which was a really tasty Vegan Chilly which was listed on their specials menu. For drinks, I also ordered a Lite lager, and a very tasty Bloody Mary... the pickled okra on that Bloody Mary was Bloody tasty! Food took less than 25 minutes to arrive, and overall, we had a very nice experience at PAKT, thanks to Dan and his team! We will definitely visit again and will recommend this place to our friends who live in nearby towns.

Finally got to try Pakt. It was worth the wait! The pig wings were 🤌🏾🤌🏾🤌🏾 I am not a clean bone type of gal, but I did not leave a morsel behind. I also got a chance to speak to the chef and listen to his amazing story of perseverance. The food is amazing, the staff is amazing, the atmosphere feels like you're having a meal at an old friends house. We will absolutely be back!
Jeanine W — Google review
Very tasty fried chicken on buttermilk biscuit. Very tough decision from a menu with so many things I wanted to try! Update: While my photography skills may well have gone downhill, PAKT continues to be excellent. The Jethro Box burger was fantastic (albeit a bit messy to eat in the car) and the side of greens I chose was sublime. I know - it's hard to screw up greens - but whatever they're doing takes it up that extra level.

Came here as a stop from upstate with a large group of friends. They were able to accommodate after making a reservation the morning of which was super nice since this place does get backed. Their beat hash browns are unique and something that I’d love to have again. If you’re in the area, you have to stop by because you can’t go wrong with any of the options.
Andrew D — Google review
Such yummy breakfast! No indoor dining so call ahead for pickup or eat outside. They have a new vegetarian gravy (Creole gravy) for a veggie sausage and biscuit. So good!
Smalls P — Google review
what a gem of a find while visiting upstate! we came for the vegan options & were highly impressed by everything. everyone was super friendly & accommodating with substitutions… food came out quick, hot & perfect. pictured is the vegetarian/an biscuits & gravy with root veggie hash browns which is not only genius cuisine but executed perfectly & delicious. added bonus is a full bar with creative cocktails, wish we were staying up here longer to visit again but next time we’re in town it’ll be our first stop! stay ungovernable; stay anti-fascist! ✊

Catskill Mountain Railroad

The Catskill Mountain Railroad is a charming heritage railway that offers day trips through picturesque mountain and village landscapes. Established in 1982 and operated by dedicated volunteers, the experience evokes a sense of nostalgia for the era when trains were a primary mode of transportation. Located near the Kingston Plaza shopping center in the Stockade District, this family-friendly attraction provides an enjoyable journey for all ages.
Ok, this is a fun train out of Kingston. The folks running it were kind and helpful, the views were nice and the whole vibe was extremely friendly. Parking was easy, family friendly, lots of things around. Say hi to Vinny Nigro who was the announcer and events guy on our train.... funny, a great guy and an epic story teller if you get him going.... Vinny alone made the trip a blast but there is so much more!
Ken W — Google review
We did a summertime ride. It wasn't bad for the price. It was a nice 70 minute ride through the countryside. However, there are a few things that you should know. First of all, there are no restrooms onboard the train. They do provide three portable bathrooms at the boarding station that you may want to take advantage of before boarding. The summertime excursions consist of several open air cars with sideways facing wood bench seats. Only one of the cars has backs to the seats. This can be tough on older bodies. There are also 2 coach cars on the train, neither of which are air conditioned, one doesn't even have windows that open. You are permitted to bring snacks and beverages aboard and they sell bottles of water for $2. The station shares a parking lot with a grocery store. My suggestion is to arrive early. Shop for snacks and drinks and use the restrooms at the grocery store before boarding the train.

It was a pleasant experience. Crew was amazing. The seats very comfortable. The soundtrack was great. We had a great time!
Laressa H — Google review
It was okay, but maybe our timing was wrong. We didn't get the autumn colors we expected, even though the website said it was the peak time. The train doesn't take a loop; it just comes back the same route in reverse. The view on one side is just a road, so overall, it's not worth it. You could just drive around in a car and get the same view

Wonderful experience. Went with our toddler. Train goes over beautiful views, very friendly staff. We did a scavenger hunt, our son got a lollipop and sticker and danced to the good music. The staff also showed him the engine after. Highly recommend!

We visited for the fall foliage trip and while we enjoyed our trip and were welcomed by excellent, friendly staff, the trip itself was somewhat lackluster. The foliage was not quite as vibrant as we had hoped (no fault of the railroad of course) but the views from the train are limited by traveling through the woods and the tracks travel through more populated areas than I had hoped.
Apprise T — Google review
We did this a few years ago, and we did it again today. We always have a fantastic experience doing this trip. I believe we did the Polar express a couple years ago and today we did the Caskill flyer train. Both trains are equally as comfortable.. customer service is above any you can receive anywhere. Seating is great, parking is great - located at a big shopping plaza - easy to purchase tickets online or in person. Porta potties are accessible at the parking lot -if you’re handicap this train definitely is for you. August 2nd, 2025 11am departure.
Angelina — Google review
Went on October 10th at 5 pm with the kids and it was a great experience. The ride was a little over an hour and there was a good crowd, but didn't feel overwhelming. It would've been better if the fall foliage was at its peak but nonetheless still recommend especially if you plan it when the leaves are changing colors.

Mexican restaurant
Santa Fe Uptown in Kingston offers a vibrant and cozy space with traditional and modern Mexican cuisine, along with a variety of cocktails. The restaurant's upbeat atmosphere and wraparound bar create an electric vibe, making it a fantastic choice for Mexican food enthusiasts. With dog-friendly outdoor seating, the restaurant provides a fun experience for both individuals and larger groups.
Yum yum yummy! Last minute decision and it was a good one. I love the frozen Marguerita with the modello. My son had the tacos, pork and hubby had vegan bowl. Nice service and atmosphere.
Judy M — Google review
I found Sante Fe Uptown completely by chance, somewhere between Montreal and New Jersey, when I realized a little too late that I needed dinner. With limited options on the road, I lucked out when this spot was still open. Walking in, I was greeted by a lively bar scene and a few scattered diners—always a promising sign. I went with the tuna tartare, which was fresh and well-balanced, followed by my server’s solid recommendation of one steak and one shrimp taco. Both were excellent—flavorful, well-seasoned, and exactly the kind of satisfying meal I needed after hours on the road. Now, I probably didn’t have a Margarita (because, you know, driving), but if one had happened to pass near my table, I might have sensed that it was expertly mixed. If you ever find yourself hungry in the Hudson Valley, this place is a worthy stop. Whether by luck or intention, I’d gladly return.

Overall my favorite place in the Catskills. I can't say anything but amazing things about the staff, they are simply the best. Me and my wife feel so welcomed every time we go to eat. Their menu is super consistent quality-wise, you know what you'll get every time and it always is great. We make a point to drive to the Kingston location because of how much love and care that place gives out. Short rib tacos, cauliflower tacos, NACHO MONDAY, what a place!
Ivo K — Google review
Went for dinner the other night and sat on the patio as it was a nice evening. We ordered a couple drinks why not as they have great margaritas. I had the plantains appetizer and was so worth getting. We also ordered the chips as they no longer come with dinner. I get food cost way up and we like them so no biggie but nice to know. Dinner was delicious and of course the wife saved some room for the crème brûlée. Service was great along with the food. We have eaten here numerous times and have always had good food.
Michael B — Google review
A bit of Old Santa Fe in Upstate NY. It’s worth a visit just for the decor. Interesting variety of margaritas by the glass or pitcher. Then there’s the food. It charges for chips and salsa (a minor quibble) but skip that and go for the guacamole. It’s really good and it comes with cucumbers! In fact almost everything comes with cucumbers (good) and nothing comes with refried beans (very good). Shrimp tacos excellent and my partner had the vegetarian option; also very good. Gluten free and vegetarian dishes available. If you have a sweet tooth, save room for cheesecake inside a fried taco rolled in cinnamon, a $10 desert that’s worth every penny. Outdoor seating available. An all around mucho bueno dining experience in the heart of the Catskills.
Gordon B — Google review
Excellent Mexican food in a Restaurant/Bar & Grille type of setting. A few blocks off the main shopping street in Kingston but worth the walk!!! Food was top notch. Excellent/quality ingredients used in our steak burritos. The salsa with the chips was mild but very good. Service and setting were way above par. Recommend.

Not usually a place I would eat but went for a work party. A little pricey but the service and atmosphere was great. I tried the Buffalo cauliflower and that was good. My entree was the pulled pork tacos and it exceeded my expectations. Would recommend.

We are definitely coming back! Four people left very satisfied - with our dinners, desserts, and the service. The hardest part was choosing from amongst all the delicious sounding items on the menu. We tried fish, chicken, and steak dishes...all were delicious. And the portions were also perfect.

It's also conveniently located near a charming playground, making it an ideal destination for families with young children.
Perfect outing for young children. My son loved it :) Animals look well cared for. We especially loved the peacocks, and the alpaca and goat are very friendly. Looking forward to our next visit!

Great playground, dino dig (ie sand box) and fun with the animals. BRING YOUR OWN VEGGIES. We didn't and people were nice enough to share with us so we could feed the goat and ducks for the full experience.

A great place for kids in the heart of Kingston. We really liked it, plenty space for strollers. Entrance is absolutely free, and you can leave some donation to support the center. P.S. You can feed and touch the animals but not all of them ;)

Free little petting zoo with llamas, tortoise, iguana, roosters, goats, rabbits, pigs, peacocks, birds and more. Small but free. You can bring your own food and follow guidelines (apples, lettuce, spinach, etc) or buy at the little vending machine. Free parking and short walk to playground. Lots of programs for children
Allanah — Google review
Really bad conditions for animals. The cages are small and the accommodations are barely adequate. The animals barely have enough space to move around and find shelter. They have this one duck penned up in a cage by itself roughly 7’x7’ (pictured below). The picture says it all. These animals should be taken to a rescue…

Bar
Tubby’s is a popular bar located in the heart of Kingston's midtown, offering a great selection of veggie comfort food and live music. The menu features crave-worthy and soul-satisfying dishes, complemented by an array of homemade condiments that are highly praised. In addition to their well-curated beverage selection and great cocktails, Tubby’s hosts fun dance parties on weekends.
Nice, attentive bar staff, comfortable divey atmosphere and the performers they book are so consistently excellent that if I were closer (bout a coupla hrs away) i’d practically live at the place.

This is an excellent place to see a band or performer. It’s an intimate space, and sound dude Kyle makes every act sound great. They book great music; even if you’ve never heard of whoever’s playing, it’s worth your while to drop in and give a listen,

Great LITTLE music venue! Very EASY to meet & talk to people. Nice outdoor smoking area with table/umbrella setups. Saw SKORTS for their final show of their US tour! Kingston is a beautiful area.
Thomas R — Google review
I live walking distance from Tubby's and have enjoyed going there in the past. Last night, my boyfriend, who was visiting from out of town, and I met friends there. My boyfriend went up to the bar to order us drinks. He had enough to pay for the 2 drinks but ran out of cash for a tip. He walked back to the table where we were sitting, asking if any of us could lend him cash for a tip. As this was happening, the bartender started yelling at him from across the room. I went up to the bar and tried to talk to the bartender, explaining it was a miscommunication and offering him money. He refused and continued to insult my boyfriend and talk to me in a demeaning tone. We then promptly left. This was disheartening because all of my other experiences at Tubbys have been great. From other reviews, it seems there is a pattern with this bartender. He looked to be about in his 40s, white, with a graying beard and glasses. I can’t help but think this guy was judging my boyfriend because he’s not from here and made whatever assumptions about him. This is sad because I always thought of tubbys as having an easygoing accepting atmosphere. I'm updating this post because I found out this bartender is actually part owner of the bar. So I'm guessing the other owners are okay with his behavior and treatment towards customers. My advice is, if you still decide to go here, beware of this guy. Make sure he knows you're going to tip him, unless you want to experience a grown man having a meltdown behind the bar!

Another Kingston institution. It's just one of the best places to meet up and hang out. As well, there's live music several times a week

First time here last nite to see Dummy from LA play! Great show, sound and supporting bands. Good venue to see up and coming bands in a smaller space. The bar was good, with a nice little curated tap and mixed drink selection. Bonus veggie friendly food made inhouse by Ace of Cups. You order the food thru their QR code and pay separately from your drinks, which was a bit confusing but works once you know what you are doing, haha.

LOLA

Italian restaurant
LOLA is an Italian restaurant in Kingston with a simple and elegant ambiance, featuring a visible brick oven that adds authenticity. It offers outdoor seating and customizable drinks at the bar. Despite a hiccup with an appetizer, the issue was promptly resolved by the staff. Visitors praise the fresh ingredients used in their pizzas, particularly enjoying the prosciutto De Parma pizza with delicious mozzarella and airy, buttery sweet crust. The wood-fired oven bakes the pizzas to perfection.
So we read the reviews before arriving but heard from friends it was great so wanted to see for ourselves. The space itself is large and beautiful - there are 4 sections - bar, cafe, and back patio, and dining area, all well decorated and modern (cafe has a slightly adjusted menu but dinner is similar enough) The menu is excellent - lots of options for everyone with unique flavors but also some classics. The food itself is also very good - we’ve had the carbonara twice, the tiger paw pizza, the stracciatella, and the classic Caesar. Tiger paw was great, carbonara was a little inconsistent over the two times we had it but still delicious both times, classic Caesar was made very well and not dry or drowned which we loved, and the stracciatella was *chef’s kiss* loved it. Now, for the service. This was one weird for us because the reviews of service weren’t the best but we found it was great. We were served quickly and the staff was super nice. They were pretty attentive considering it was busy and we didn’t feel rushed at all and felt take care of. So would say take the service reviews with a grain of salt because it always depends on the day and time for some places Overall would definitely recommend for any kind of lunch or dinner and will definitely be coming back

I can never get sick of Lola! It’s a must for me every time I visit home and there are few places I can think of that prioritize deliciousness the way that they do. Every version of what they have on their menu is exactly what you’d hope for that thing to be (a dream-like eggplant parmesean, flawless pizzas with unreal crusts, a perfectly balanced pasta with clams, etc). It’s a place to feel good and be happy where you can rest assured that anything you order will be delicious. This post was made in connection with a Toast promotion.
Brigitte B — Google review
My friend and I are in town for the weekend and made a reservation at Lola based on online recs. Thank god we did, because not only was the food top tier (loved the hot honey pizza ), but the vibes were out of this world thanks to whoever had control of the playlist. Rihanna, Lana, 2000s R&B. 1000% made our night! Thanks for a great experience!

Lola is hands down one of the best pizza spots in Kingston. The crust is perfectly done—crispy on the outside, chewy inside—and the toppings are fresh, creative, and always balanced. You can tell a lot of care goes into every pie. The space itself has a fun, easygoing vibe that makes it just as good for a quick bite as it is for a night out with friends. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the whole experience feels effortless in the best way. Whether you’re a pizza purist or someone who likes to try new flavor combinations, Lola delivers every time. Definitely a must-visit in Kingston.

The food was delicious at LOLA. The Mafaldine Bolognese was our favorite! Everything was really good, I would definitely come back. Waitress was very nice.
Teresa A — Google review
Yesterday we went to Lola's to have a bite. Inside there was a small room with a few tables and a bar. They were making pizza in the same room. We sat outside, we really liked the interior, it was something like a veranda, where there was a lot of greenery and a little more tables than inside. Apart from us, there were only 2 tables occupied, so the order was taken quickly and the food was prepared quickly. We ordered pasta, pizza and two glasses of wine. The portions were very small, the pizza was burnt, there was nothing special in the pasta, just pasta with sauce. The price is $82 + tip, I think it's expensive. The service is ordinary, without emotion.
Nataliia T — Google review
This restaurant is more than it's simple menu. The pasta was fresh and had the perfect chewy texture. The clam pasta sauce was super balanced and delicious, though the clams were very small. Meatballs and the spicy rigatoni were also delicious and not overly rich. Server was fast and friendly. Overall had a great experience!

Vincenzo's Pizzeria & Ristorante is a charming spot that captures the essence of traditional Italian dining. With a menu featuring straightforward pizzas, hearty pastas, and classic entrees, it offers something for everyone in a relaxed atmosphere. Guests rave about the crispy crusts and perfectly balanced flavors of their pizzas, often describing them as some of the best they've ever tasted. The warm and friendly staff create an inviting environment where patrons feel like family.
Have been eating pizza in Kingston for 30 years and this is by far the best I have EVER tried. Will be the only pizza I eat in town ever again. Excellent service, the owners make you feel like family, we didn’t want to leave! Must try.

Great pizza crust. Thin with just the perfect crunch. Delicious blend of cheeses and sauce too. I had take away, but the interior atmosphere seemed cozy and inviting. Wish I were closer to the place.

Good old school pizzeria. Had delicious sausage, potato and spinach in brodo, amazing flavor so much that I want to try to make it at home. The baked penne was decent, but I couldn't get behind his meatballs. They were so mushy and had no flavor. Would like to try the pizza next time. Otherwise, everything else was good. Lovely service from the behind the counter as well.

I really enjoy this pizzeria. Every time I come to visit my Grandma in Kingston we stop here. Great Pizza. Great people.

Friendly staff. The signs on the wall say they win best pizza in Kingston just about every year. If you order single slices they Are pre-cooked and warned up. Not bad, but a little crunchy. I had the lasagna as well. Stick with the pizza. The owner is first generation from Argentina. I would go again.

Super friendly local Italian spot. We picked up our food and they were very quick. We got chicken Parmesan and a small vegetarian pizza and couldn’t eat half of the food (and we can eat a lot).

Vincenzos is one of the best places to eat in all of Kingston. Not only is the food great, but the service is always too notch. A family owned shop that will serve you the best slice of pizza in the Hudson valley. It is always a wonderful treat when you get a chance to sit down and eat a meal.
O H — Google review
This was some of the very best pizza we've had in years. Beautiful crispy crust, good proportions on the sloppy cheese, the meat was just spicy enough without overpowering the other flavors, seriously, perfection. The staff was warm and gregarious and seemed to know everyone who walked in. We're only sad we couldn't get another slice before heading home from our weekend, but I guess it means we'll be back!

Le Canard Enchaine is a charming French bistro located in Kingston, NY, offering an authentic Parisian dining experience. With French staff adding to the authenticity, visitors can enjoy refined bistro fare and excellent service. Exceptional!! The atmosphere was warm and inviting. Lovely cocktails and wine selection. Food was truly delicious from appetizers to fabulous dinners to perfect deserts. The service was extraordinary. Thank you Patrick and coworkers! It wasn't around the corner for us but so worth the drive!! A truly perfect evening! We will be back!

My partner and I came here to celebrate for New Year’s Eve. Food was good, but we had to wait 30 minutes for our 7:30 pm reservation! On a holiday it’s understandable to be busy, but I’ve never had to wait for a reservation at a restaurant before. There were a lot of other two person parties waiting even longer than us. We had to stand awkwardly in the way by the entrance/bathroom because there was no room at the bar while we waited which we didn’t enjoy. Once seated we were very happy with our food. We had the garlic snails, goat cheese salad, salmon and duck confit. Our waitress was also nice and attentive. That made up for the wait, but be aware it seems like the waiting for a reservation is a recurring issue for this restaurant.

This is one of the many great restaurants in Kingston! If you’re looking for a classy French Bistro in the area this is the place for you.

A wonderful place to dine! Well worth a drive if you’re anywhere in the Catskills. Super friendly staff, charming decor, and incredible food! I highly recommend the escargot, lamb shank, and the beef bourguignon.

Love this gem of a restaurant in Kingston. The atmosphere is warm and cozy. The wine list is super varied. The food is off the charts. The onion soup is the best I’ve ever had. Escargot is delicious. The duck and lamb were off the charts. Key lime pie is not to be missed with the most fantastic whipped cream. You will not be disappointed.

This is my favorite restaurant in Ulster/Dutchess county, and maybe even all of New York. I've been here on multiple occasions, and the staff has always been delightful. The atmosphere is glorious with good music and decoration. Most importantly the food is to die for. I have not been disappointed by a single thing on the menu. The escargot and crab cake are some of my favorites
Jeremy G — Google review
We recently had the pleasure of dining at this exquisite French restaurant, and the experience was truly unforgettable. The culinary expertise on display was evident in every dish, but two standouts stole the show: the lamb and the creme brulee cheesecake. The lamb was cooked to perfection, with each bite offering a tender and flavorful experience that left us wanting more. However, the real showstopper was the creme brulee cheesecake. This innovative dessert combined the richness of cheesecake with the classic caramelized sugar of creme brulee, creating a truly unique and indulgent treat. The service was attentive and knowledgeable, ensuring that every aspect of our meal was enjoyable. We look forward to returning soon to explore more of the menu and relish the delightful atmosphere. Recommendation: Don't miss the lamb and creme brulee cheesecake! Both are must-try dishes that will leave you eager for your next visit.

For day 2, we recommend exploring the west side side of town. Start the day off with Ship to Shore, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Kingston Point Beach. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

Guests can savor the famous steak with steak frites or opt for simple yet delicious steamed clams. My goodness, what a friendly place. Jordon, our waitress, was terrific, so we went with her recommendation. The food was spot on, and the atmosphere was comfortable. We sat in the front with a small hole in the window. It's worth the drive. Don't waste your time at some of the restaurants in town. The harbor area is beautiful.

Large selection of dishes, with a good variety and good preparation. The steak was tender, and the pasta was very tasty. The tuna stack was fun. Everything was solid, but nothing blew my mind.

Great location on the waterfront. Spacious outdoor patio seating. Nice place for drinks. Heavy seafood menu. Service was a little slow.

We dined outside and that was probably the best part of the experience, unfortunately. We order the strip with lobster tail. Strip was ok, edible but not impressive. Lobster was lacking flavor. Disappointing to say the least. On the plus side, amazing location and outdoor seating is pleasant.

The Hudson River Maritime Museum, located in the Rondout area of Kingston, is a waterfront museum featuring rotating exhibits and a fleet of small boats, including an 1898 steam tugboat. The museum offers museum exhibits, lecture and film series in the winter, while boat trips and walking tours are available from May to October. Situated alongside the creek, it provides a glimpse into the nautical history of the region with artifacts, old boats, and art depicting life on the Hudson River.
This is truly an amazing museum! It holds all the maritime history of the Kingston area and the Hudson River. We took a solar powered boat ride out to the Rondout Lighthouse. We even got to go into the Lighthouse and walk up to the top! Amazing! Now stewards of the artifacts of the steam era of boats from the last 100 years in the Hudson River. So many artifacts, boat signage, wheels from ships, tons of photos, and even a huge steel tug from 1898. Their biggest artifact! This museum is amazing, just go!

A pleasant place to spend time even if you just walk along the waterfront to see the vessels that might be berthed there. There are nice walkways with several signs explaining the history of the area. Parking is metered but plentiful, and there are several eateries in the area.

Small museum but there are lots of cool things to view. At first it seemed like basic videos and displays in the front of the museum but the more interesting exhibits are in the warehouse-like back section. There are restrooms available.

Kingston Point Beach offers a tropical beach-like experience with its sandy shore, palm trees, and the sound of waves. The park features amenities such as showers, changing rooms, bathrooms, and a large parking lot. Visitors can enjoy activities like volleyball in the roped-off swimming area while lifeguards ensure safety. The beach connects to the unique trail along the Hudson at Kingston Point Park. However, it's important to be cautious of sharp objects called cow heads in the water.
Beautiful view, it is a nice little beach . Water is very well temporarily .Covered pavilion, playground, volleyball nets. Nice Sandy beach .Bathrooms are permanent and clean. And there are plenty of barbecue setups all around and there is a whole separate part which is all picnic tables …

Nice relaxing place to visit. They have a pavilion, beach courts, tons of open grass to play on for kids, and two family sized, environmentally friendly restrooms that are relatively clean. During normal hours, they have lifeguards on duty. I use this location to set up volleyball nets on the grass, and it's been utterly perfect for that.

Lovely spot, but very rocky beach. Parking is good, the play ground is cute. This was a well maintained area offering a dog park, frisbee golf, pavilions, picturesque views of the Hudson River and east to walk trails (not flat or wheelchair/stroller friendly). There are picnic tables along the trails for a nice evening picnic and watch the sunset (but bring a flashlight to get back out of the park after sunset). Overall a lovely place to spend a day.
Roxanne F — Google review
Nice beach on the river with a roped off swimming area. There are no dogs allowed on this beach. Disappointed at so many people leaving their garbage instead of carrying it 30 feet to a garbage can. The water is a bit brown in color but seems pretty clean and warm. There are shady areas at either end of the beach with nice tree cover. Bathrooms and a nice Pavillion. Wear water shoes or sandals as the sand and pavement get very hot.

The food was amazing!! Every dish we ordered was really good and we were very happy and satisfied. The only downside was the waiting. First time in the Catskills and we wanted to check out Kingston at least once. This restaurant had good reviews and lots of options on the menu. We were seated adjacent to the river and with the windows open on a nice cool evening it really elevated the dining experience. It was a bit loud next to the bar but we were still able to have a conversation. We got the fried calamari to start which was delicious, the dipping sauce had a bit of spice to it, overall really good. Entrees were the marinated steak and my husband got the combo with the lobster. Steak was well cooked, tender, with a large portion. Green beans were a bit overcooked for our taste but the flavor was good. Definitely would recommend checking it out.

Yesterday was our first visit, and it did not disappoint. We were looking for a new place and this is about 20min from us but so worth the drive. They bring Garlic bread sticks right away and they are so so good. The food was fantastic! Our dinner consisted of antipasta, eggplant rollatini (excellent), and linguine with white clam sauce. The bread twists with dinner were very good but a little on the tough side. The atmosphere is on the loud side. Not at full capacity during our time frame. The waiter was very loud with every customer. He wasn't as attentive as he should have been. Plates sat on the table that were finished through the entire meal. Pet peeve of mine.

Ole Savannah Southern Table and Bar is a spacious waterfront restaurant housed in a warehouse, offering BBQ and Cajun-style dishes like brisket and gumbo. Despite having a small menu, the food is delicious, especially the brisket and smoked chicken wings which can be enjoyed with a cold beer while watching boats pass by outdoors. A second visit revealed improved cornbread and impeccable service even at closing time.
Such a Lovely place with good people. Food is delicious and they have good beers. We came here with our sailing boat.

The place is super cozy and it’s nice to be right next to the water. However, the food is lacking and the prices are high. The pork dumplings were disappointing. The chicken special was way too expensive for how small it was. Corn bread and beer were ok. The waffle ice cream sandwich was probably the best thing but it’s hard to go wrong with such an indulgent dessert either way. Would probably not come back but it was a nice lunch, just too expensive for what we had!

I 'really' wanted to love this eating establishment this time around but, as was the case last time I was here, I left profoundly disappointed with my meal. It's been HOT, humid, and rainy in the Hudson Valley these past few days, so we decided to enjoy a waterside meal on this relatively sunny Saturday... and where better for atmosphere than Ole Savannah... seated outside on the deck overlooking the Roundout channel. The views were great, and the service among the best I've experienced in a while, but the food was truly miserable. The corn fritters had no visible corn and no real corn taste, and the portion of maple syrup was laughably tiny. My lunch, the brisket sandwich, had a nice side salad and the presentation was nice, but the meat itself was SO fatty and SO chewy that most couldn't be eaten and had to be left chewed on the plate (embarrassing). The waitress was kind enough to offer a different meal but, having to catch the tour boat, I declined. Ole Savannah, I really want to like you but, the last few times, only the service and view were outstanding... not the food.

Ole Savannah Southern Table and Bar is a beautiful old space with a great location right by the water, making it the perfect spot for outdoor dining on a warm summer day. As a dog-friendly establishment, it's a great place to bring your furry friend along for the meal. While some of the dishes fell short of expectations, there were a few bright spots. The fried chicken was particularly tasty and well-seasoned, and the cocktails were well-made and enjoyable. However, the ribs were undercooked and lacked flavor, and the biscuit was dry and inedible. Additionally, the baked beans were served in a plastic bowl that melted, leaving a plastic residue on the food. Despite the mixed quality of the food, the ambiance and location were lovely, and the drinks and fried chicken were definitely worth trying. It's worth considering Ole Savannah Southern Table and Bar for the overall experience, particularly for those looking for a dog-friendly outdoor dining experience. Overall, I recommend visiting Ole Savannah Southern Table and Bar for the beautiful location and outdoor dining experience, but be cautious when ordering food. Try the fried chicken and cocktails, but be aware that some dishes may fall short of expectations.

Performing arts theater
Ulster Performing Arts Center, originally opened as the Broadway Theater in 1927, is a historic 1,510-seat venue in Kingston. It hosts a variety of events including national music acts, classic films, symphonies, and dance performances. The iconic building offers a charming two-story theater experience with great acoustics and seating options. While parking may be limited nearby, there are plenty of dining options within reach.
I recently saw Father John Misty at the Ulster Performing Arts Center, and it was an incredible experience. The venue itself is stunning—full of historic charm with a beautifully intimate setting that makes every seat feel close to the stage. The acoustics were outstanding, allowing every note to resonate perfectly throughout the space. Father John Misty delivered an amazing performance, showcasing his signature vocals and poetic lyricism. He played fan favorites like I Love You, Honeybear and Mr. Tillman, captivating the audience with his stage presence and energy. The atmosphere was electric, and the crowd was fully engaged from start to finish. UPAC is truly a gem in the Hudson Valley. The staff was friendly, the seating was comfortable, and the sound quality was top-notch. If you’re looking for a fantastic concert experience, I highly recommend this venue!

Great venue, Il Divo, great experience at the Ulster Performing Arts Center in Kingston! The show was fantastic, and the sound quality was excellent, you could hear everything clearly from anywhere in the theater. Every seat has a perfect view of the stage, and the atmosphere really enhances the performance. A beautiful venue and a great night out overall!
Billy B — Google review
Nice historical theater. Free parking lot around the corner that will fill up for a sold out show. Balcony seats very close together and not too comfortable for a taller person, to be expected from an older building.
Brennan R — Google review
It's a great venue for sound snd spectacle. It's an older building so the seats can be snug and if you have longs you may want an aisle seat. The stairs leading up to the balcony challenged my arthritic husband and thankfully there are railings on both sides. I'd still recommend it, my second time there!
Gwynneth P — Google review
Phenomenal yet dated theatre... 97 years old, and still rocking. Phenomenal sound, not a bad seat in the house... sitting lobby near snack bars... some parking near by, plenty of places near by to grab a bite, or drink before and after. I highly recommend you check it out. I hidden gem, the largest theater it's type between Manhatten and Albany.
Johnny M — Google review
Not too bad of a place to see a show. Wish seats were wider for us plus sized people. Fairly decent view no matter where you sit. Staff was friendly.
Kelly D — Google review
Arrived early decided to get a beer before heading to seat. Eight dollars later I was served an extremely warm beer. As we tried to go to our seat we were informed no drinks at your seat. I threw my warm beer in the garbage. As the lights went out all I could see was the back of this mans head. Expensive tickets....warm beer.....I wont be back.
Kim S — Google review
Great venue. It is an older theater so the sound is great.

Restaurant
Kingston Standard Brewing Co. is a charming nano-brewery founded by friends Kyle Needham and Tait Simpson, offering a delightful range of beers in a spacious taproom with indoor and outdoor seating. The brewery has an emphasis on old world styles, with the rauchbier being particularly excellent. It's a family-friendly spot that's also perfect for date nights. Visitors praise the delicious and satisfying beers, gorgeous taproom, and appealing food menu.
Darn it! Forgot to take pics of the food, which was good! Got the seasonal butternut squash pizza, it was savory and yummy. Pepperoni pizza, which was great and the knackwurst ..soooo good. Get it! My favorite beer was the wee heavy scotch ale. It was perfection. Hubby had an old fashioned and we also had a spiked cider. Worth the stop.
Tracy J — Google review
I enjoy this place, especially on hot days! Their beer is refreshing and they’ve always got something interesting a new! Get the oysters! The pretzels are fantastic! During the summer they have lobster rolls that are to die for! The pizzas are made from scratch… really you can’t go wrong!! I also recommend looking out for board game days hosted on Sundays by a local comic and game store.

Great brewery in Kingston! We ordered some pale ales and the El Dorado Lager, all great beers. And the Margherita pizza was delicious! Very fresh and the dough was light and soft. We had to come back the next day and try the other pizza options! There was outdoor seating and indoor as well, and the staff were friendly.
Brenda Y — Google review
This is a wonderful place to get pizza and beer. Just fabulous. We attended a private event and were able to enjoy a wide selection of pizza and I enjoyed their stout. It was excellent. Friendly and efficient staff. And Nate the GM is a credit to this brewery. He kept everything going smoothly at our event. Stop in or order on line. Great place!

Thank you to the entire team at Kingston Standard Brewing Co. for hosting our private wedding welcome party for about 70-80 people!! Nate and his entire team were FANTASTIC—incredible service, delicious food, and spot-on with the details. Nate was so diligent and careful with the planning in the lead-up, he spent hours with us on the phone mapping out floor plan, the menu, and overall guest experience. He is a gem of a GM and let us bring in our own bud vases and hook up our own playlist—it was the most memorable night. They have such an extensive menu which was perfect for our guests, with an amazing selection of wine, cider and even non-alcoholic sodas in addition to beer, it made it perfect place to host our party!!

Stopped in on the way the Headless Horseman Hayrides after a long drive and the bartender was awesome and patient with us. The Schwarzbier was the best I've ever had, the pizza and arugula salad were outstanding as well. Great spot glad we stopped!
Chad S — Google review
Visited on a Saturday afternoon in the middle of May. Nice spacious brewery taproom with seating both inside and out. Somewhat small range of beers on tap, with a seeming emphasis on old world styles (which I like). The rauchbier I had was excellent. Only one serving size offered. Average prices. Friendly and attentive service. Appealing food menu but we weren’t eating during our visit. Had a good experience here and I’d be interested in returning to try some more beers and perhaps some food.
Leighton S — Google review
I really enjoyed their beer. The pizza was okay; the sauce was a bit sour which I wasn’t really a fan of. The oysters were fresh and they come with hot sauce and a pink vinegar sauce. The lobster roll was really good! It’s great for a nice day time stop!

Nice little playground. Has a covered seating area with tables and benches. Parking lot is not very near the park, but it's not far. Big ballfields.
NYS D — Google review
Such a cute park. Away from the road so I know the kids are safe
Samantha F — Google review
Great place to relax and walk the dog!
Spencer C — Google review
I've been going here since I was a child, and I now love to bring my children! Very clean and other kid's around to play with my kids
Mariah C — Google review
Park needs more attention and monitoring. Kids area has broken playground equipment that should be repaired or removed. Regularly see homeless individuals sleeping in dugouts in early morning hours (usually gathering up and leaving by 7am or so). Otherwise tennis courts and pickle board courts look great and regularly used.
Thierry C — Google review
Lots of pickleball courts but they fill up fast. The park is well maintained and there was no garbage lying around. Great experience for a group picnic or outing.
John W — Google review
The park is kept clean and well mowed, the playground however has cracks in the slides/tunnels which are very dangerous and have sharp edges. The 'seasonal' bathroom are never open from what I can see, which is really a shame because the pavilion is large and otherwise this is a nice neighborhood park.

Beautiful park. Happy to say it's a great location for all of our protests against the current mess of an administration.

It is a historic site and a park where you can visit at Academy Green Park .Every year they have a place for kids it is called the kids day parade. You see fireworks and all types of fin things to do at the historic site. So if you're not busy that's a place you could visit and just walk down community fun.

Nice in the summer at night its relaxing. They should add picnic tables and a few grills. They have movie under the stars there in the summer for kids, n big kids, lol, They just need to add more seating, n a few grills would be so nice. Really wouldn't cost much for Kingston to fix it up with these things. A gazibo some more stuff. A little play ground too. Its big enough. I love it though. Its nice there.
Jennifer D — Google review
This park is in the heart of downtown. It has several benches along the sidewalks to have a rest. Parking's not great.
Cricket W — Google review
Loved it as a child when they had the pool and it's still a very nice place just to sit let the kids play and run around although I think it could have a few children toys swings or just a little something for the children to do I loved the pool most of all as a child now I love most the activities they do occasionally there live music, cookouts and ect.

I was so impressed by the amount of people that were protesting in the pouring rain. I will continue to protest as long as Donald Trump is our president.

Should be renamed the crackhead park. Always filthy dirtbags hanging in or around the park.

The Old Dutch Church in Kingston, NY is a 19th-century bluestone church and cemetery that holds significant historical importance. The current structure was built in 1852 on the site of a 1600s Dutch Colonial village. It has witnessed pivotal events such as being burned by the British during the Revolutionary War and visited by George Washington in 1782. Today, it hosts various events like an indoor Winter Farmers Market and craft sale, offering fresh produce and unique goods.
Unique public events are held in and around this church. Burning of Kingston 2024 historical re-enactment was well organized and had staged street fights and a gala ball with dancing lessons and a reception in the church theater.
Natalia H — Google review
Today, the old Dutch church is hosting the indoor Winter Farmersmarket as well as a craft sale. Lovely event I just happened upon driving by and I am glad I stopped in. Lots of fresh produce and other goodies were to be found at the farmers market. The craft market was spread out and included several rooms upstairs which made for a lovely meander of discovery without too much crowding. I’ll be back for this next year!
Ana G — Google review
Love this church! It's amazing. The physical structure is very special and should not be missed. But we actually attended services on Sunday, and it was delightful. We're not even religious, but we've gone back three times. To follow is a quote from my 8-year-old who said he liked the congregation so much that he wanted to say something nice in the review, "The people there is so nice and they were just amazing the church is the best I have ever been to. It was so beautiful that we stayed for the whole time"
David W — Google review
Nice venue but the speakers are out of hand. Moved from the front row all the way to the back but even there it was painfully loud.
John S — Google review
The Old Dutch Church is a Beautiful Church. Very welcoming to all. My wife and I got married here. Its Gorgeous inside. I go to sit on benches in the shade, and walk through n read the old head stones. This Church is a part of history, and now its a part of mine n my wife's history ❤🙏🏼
Jennifer D — Google review
Beautiful church both on the inside and outside that is worth visiting. There are self guided tours to learn the history of the Dutch and English who settled and created the beautiful architecture and streetscapes of the area. The church is in a very beautiful and safe area of the city known as uptown and near Wall St. Nice independent shops nearby on the classic streets.
Steve — Google review
I'm not a religious individual. I believe in a higher power over all, and that being better people counts. But if I had to box myself into a religion, then as Ziggy Marley sings "Love, Is My Religion." But yesterday , my Uber driver, dropped me off in front of the Old Dutch Church. I looked at it, and wondered about it. Something kept telling me to take a deeper look - those other senses & vibes many ignore or don't discuss. I looked at the promotional information outside, spun around once or twice, then decided to ask the young lady selling goods about what she was selling & where the Kingston Farmer's Market was (it was across the street). Her name's Gabby & she's a Vegan Chef - her tofu sandwiches are FABULOUS! And I HATED tofu. I asked her about the promos in front of the church, and briefly told her about myself (Creative, Published Poet, Self-Publisher with Amazon KDP for Poets Only, podcasting, my online magazine, & my licensed businesses, etc.). Gabby told me I was in the right place, so I decided to check the Old Dutch Church out. I passed a young man named James, selling HENNEPEN'S CBD oil on my way in. Once inside, I couldn't believe it. Did I mention that I was absolutely AWED???... The architectural beauty of the outside & inside of the church is one thing. But the staff is friendly & full of joyful smiles, there's an art gallery upstairs, but they also rent out the church space...To & for ARTS & CREATIVITY!!! I met Pastor Rob Sweany, a very amazing individual. I felt like I knew him for years. I also noticed the gay pride flag in the church...and I smiled. I knew this church was old, but different. No, I'm not gay, lol. But I support the rights of those that are. I also have gay friends & family members. Being born in Brooklyn, NY to Jamaican parents, I've witnessed too many atrocities towards gay, bi, transgender, & the LBGQT community. I have issues with treating other inhumanely, period. Yes, I used to be homophobic. I was raised that way. But I purposely made it my business to change. So, kudos to the oldest church in Kingston, NY, the Old Dutch Church. I fully intend to partake in the Arts & Creativity they have to offer, and also share my Creativity and those of Creatives I know. There's soooo much creative events & opportunities here, that I'm already tickled, about how much fun this'll be! Many thanks to the Old Dutch Church. *P.S. There was a member there that helped me, took me around, shared Gabby's bread with me, introduced me to the pastor, & was so nice, taking her time to assist me. I forgot her name, but dhe knows who she is. A very special thank to you. I'm soooo writing your name down the next time. You're AMAZING!

⭐️An excellent bakery! We instantly liked it when we passed by while strolling through the city, so we decided to stop by after our walk. The place was beautifully decorated for Christmas, creating a cozy and festive atmosphere. The baked goods were outstanding, and everything was tastefully packaged. A delightful experience overall!⭐️

We stumbled upon this place while we were visiting the area and we were so happy that we did. They had such a unique selection to choose from. Our favorites were the strawberry rhubarb thumbprint cookie and the kids loved the s’mores cookie. We also tried the earl grey lavender Oreo and the Rose Water Lemonade which were also wonderful. They have indoor as well as outdoor seating.

When I see a sign that simply states “bakery,” I step inside! Like many of the shops in the area, it was open, airy and had a lovely vibe. The pastries looked so delicious so I ordered a box of cookies, which resulted in me getting a cookie for free! The shortbread cookies looked especially good. They have some seating indoors and more seating outdoors to enjoy a sweet treat.

We stumbled upon Sweet Maresa’s during our foster pup Mission’s very first road trip to Kingston—and what a gem of a discovery! The bakery is charming and warm, with a display full of beautifully crafted pastries, many of which you don’t typically see elsewhere. We spotted homemade dog biscuits and decided to give them a try. At the time, Mission had just come out of the shelter and was still adjusting to the world. To our surprise, he loved the biscuits! This week, we made a special trip just for that. The staff were incredibly kind and patient, even offering their special dog treats again to Mission. It made the experience feel personal and welcoming. For us humans, we got the mixed berry tart—a perfect balance of crisp pie crust, sweet-tart berry filling, and a delicate crumble topping. We also couldn’t resist our favorite: the vanilla shortbread cookie, which is buttery, tender, and speckled with real vanilla seeds. We’ll absolutely be back—both for ourselves and for Mission! Highly recommend this special spot for both dog lovers and dessert lovers alike.

Sweet Maresa’s is simply the best! Their cake was absolutely phenomenal—you’d never guess it was vegan just by the taste. Every guest at our wedding was blown away, with many saying it was the best cake they’d ever had. It became the talk of the reception, and everyone was raving about how delicious it was. From the smooth and easy ordering process to the seamless pickup and, of course, every last bite of the cake, everything was perfect. If you’re looking for an unforgettable cake that just happens to be vegan, Sweet Maresa’s is the only choice. We couldn’t be happier!

It was my first time visiting. I had some questions and the girl behind the counter was very sweet and helpful. All the cookies and pastries looked delicious. Urban Fork, with its second location in Uptown, is a go-to spot for comfort food done right. The menu features dishes like chicken and biscuits, mac n cheese, and chili egg rolls. Additionally, the new location offers weekend brunch. Customers highly recommend the 'what the cluck' chicken sandwich and the 'crack n mac,' praising both the food and attentive service.
We had a catered event at Urban Fork and it was incredible. Everything from the planning to communication and right through the entire event. The food was delicious and served hot with many options provided (don't skip on the crack sauce!) She even went out of her way to specially prepare a vegetarian meal for one of our guests. The owner was in constant communication with us throughout to make sure everything was going well. I would definitely recommend them to anybody looking to do a catered event. You get the whole restsurant to yourself and as an added bonus, there's an awesome play room in the back of the restaurant for kids to play in!

So I’ve been wanting to try this spot for a while. There are two locations we decided to go to the original location. Nice slow Sunday morning decided to go out with the wife for breakfast. I must say the French toast is to die for my wife ordered the French toast plain. You can get it with lots of different options she’s not really into that. I decided to order the lip smacker I must say I’ve never had a breakfast sandwich with French toast so late and fluffy that I did actually use the syrup for this is a must try breakfast/brunch spot. I will have to go back and try the lunch food. restaurant is nice and clean with a nice theme to it. Service was excellent.

Came in with my boyfriend and our friends, my bf got mac and wings, I got a dozen wings, Food was good, but what made it better was the service! The waitress (owner?) was very attentive and friendly, I felt very comfortable there and it was just overall a great experience. Service really does make a huge difference!

Thr best chicken sandwiches ive ever had for reasonable prices. Having been here a few times, every server is service oriented. The owner is so friendly and runs a smooth operation. Empanadas are a delightful surprise on the menu, so good. And opt for the cauliflower wings you'll be so satisfied.

What a place! The food is drool-worthy, the service is fantastic, and the atmosphere is cozy. The wings with cayenne maple sauce are soo good, not battered, instead crispy and perfect. The chicken sandwiches are phenomenal. Crispy so good you can hear the crunch. We had a figgy sandwich, which has figs and also the Nashville, which is hot. Don’t miss out on this place.
Manu G — Google review
We liked trying this new to us brunch spot in Kingston! Definitely has a humble homey feeling in the space and the food gives heavy comfort (aka food coma) vibes as well. Service was lovely. We tried the wings to start and while I understand the hype in the crack sauce (yummmmm), we really disliked the Buffalo hot wings. The Buffalo sauce was thick and almost like a tomato sauce? It wasn’t our cup of tea personally but definitely heavy on the sauce which I always appreciate. I had a French toast flight with 4 flavors: strawberry shortcake, s’mores, Cinnamon Toast Crunch and pb+j. HUUUge portion size and super sweet/decadent but I think the only flavor profile that was super special/unique and not just topping placed on regular French toast was s’mores. My partner had the chicken and waffles which was good! His only complaint was wanting more chicken to waffle ratio.
Jacklyn L — Google review
The Urban Fork is probably one of my newest favorite places in Kingston right now. The owner is extremely friendly and knowledgeable about every item on the menu and the food is beyond amazing. The first time we went, we had the Mac Daddy chicken sandwich and the Nashville Hot chicken sandwiches, which were so good. Our 2nd visit, we had Carolina reaper wings and the crack sandwich. Extremely delicious and flavorful, and the crack sauce on the side is a must, it's so addictive. I definitely see us becoming regulars at this restaurant

Sonder is a trendy wine bar in Kingston, offering a chic ambiance and an impressive array of over 30 wines from various regions. The dining room exudes a lively atmosphere with disco balls and taper candles, creating an immersive experience. Guests rave about the perfectly cooked meats such as chicken, steak, and pork belly, along with standout dishes like Mac n cheese gnocchi and ginger risotto. The restaurant has garnered high praise for its flavorful offerings and vibrant setting.
I will begin by saying I ended up getting a tube of their brown honey butter to go, and would have taken a whole loaf of bread if they were selling it that night (they sadly weren’t). It was the highlight of our meal. We also got some great tater tots and green salad as sides. We shared the mixed grill lamb plate which was good but we felt the sausages were a bit of a miss. We saw the half chicken on the table next to us and wished we had gotten that instead! Brownie dessert was decadent and very good. Would love to come back for the rest of the menu!

Simply enough - the food here is great. On a deeper level, this restaurant is very special, and you can sense the lore behind every dish and wine selection. We were lucky enough to have one of the owners as a server, and they told us the (hilarious! incredible! and heartwarming) stories behind each thing we ordered, from the shrimp cocktail to the burger to the chilled red wine. I am still thinking about the special cavatelli with charred asparagus and frizzled onions! I wish I could eat here every week but I will have to settle for planning to eat here every time I am back in Kingston.

Had such a wonderful meal here. The menu is small, but every dish was so beautifully complex and special. Every bite was a surprise, like, oh I didn't know this could taste like this. Pleasant surprise to have such a wonderful time dining at Sonder for first time. The vibe was incredible. Service was friendly and helpful. The cozy yet classy vibes inside make it a perfect spot for drinks with friends, offering immaculate cocktails and delicious food options like oysters and french fries.
Very satisfied! And really surprised. We shared a Radicchio Salad which was delicious. The salad had fried tofu and sweet potato chips in it. The bread and butter was excellent. Main course we shared fish and chips. Also really good. Not greasy and home cut chips. Dessert we recommend the mousse. Delicious.

One of the most pleasurable dining experiences I’ve had in Kingston – the staff are perfectly attuned to guest needs and the meal was flavorful, perfectly prepared/plated and prompt. I enjoyed the skylight in the dining room as all food looks best under natural light. I also appreciated the wine recommendation from the sommelier who was very knowledgeable about a specific vineyard/region my dining companion was interested in. I will certainly return.

The menu has many interesting combinations of Southeast Asian ingredients and New American cuisine. The scallop crudo highlighted the intense Asian notes really well. The trout, less so, but it was a nice meaty cut and they prepared it well. Nice ambiance, they have a more lively atmosphere near the bar, a quieter room in the back, and a big patio.

Really delicious food here in Kingston, likely one of the nicest restaurants in the town. With espresso martinis and regular martinis on draft, I can tell who the catered demographic is. That being said, I did indeed get a draft martini to pair with a delicious dinner of: a Porkchop, Trout, Octopus, alongside a side of fries and mixed greens. The Porkchop came with an East Asian tamarind inspired sauce which I thought paired nicely. Wood fire grilled made the char and flavor so much better than a skillet. I found it to be delicious! One of the best dishes I’ve had all year! The trout was good with crispy skin and a good flavor. Pickled mushrooms were nice and homemade but may have been a bit overwhelming to the rest of the dish but that’s being nit picky. The octopus was fine — not a knockout dish but it was still good. Basically had an advanced chipotle mayo (Calabrian aioli) on the bottom. The fries and mixed greens were delicious. Perfect homemade fries and an outstanding dressing on the mixed greens. The dessert is to not be missed, luckily came on a day where they had my favorite sorbet, Blood Orange. Purple Rice Pudding was delicious and unique. Overall — great food here and exceeded my expectations. Had 1 night on a day trip to Kingston and it was the perfect date night.

Fabulous restaurant in Kingston. The grilled sea bass and the roast chicken were excellent as were the charcuterie appetizers (soppressata and prosciutto) and bread. Nice wine selection (we had a delicious Riesling from the Mosel). Great atmosphere and friendly service. Wonderful restaurant for a special occasion.

Came in for something to eat after a little drinking... Was kindly greeted by Erin and Amanda who told us there would be a wait for a table so we sat at the bar. At the bar Winnie made us a Jam Band Julep and a Long Island Iced Tea As we waited for our Seared Steelhead Trout which was out of this world. Absolutely delicious. The drinks the food the atmosphere is amazing at Eliza's.

My partner and I visited Eliza while we were visiting for an anniversary trip, and damn, I'm so glad we stopped here. The pork chop (a special that night) was the best one I've ever had. The bread was delicious, and the tomato app was so fresh, absolutely a highlight for dinner. We were greeted with complimentary champagne and was able to taste wines at the bar before making a decision. Cocktails were excellent, and the wine selection was great. Truly such a treat that we stopped here, I highly recommend this gem in Kingston. We will definitely come back soon!

On my first visit to Casa Villa, a hidden gem that I've passed by countless times, I was pleasantly surprised by the welcoming owners and their unmatched hospitality. It's evident that this place has been filled with love and dedication, both in its atmosphere and food offerings. The lunch I had was absolutely delicious - the shrimp tacos were spot on and offered at an unbeatable price. The portion size was generous as well. I'm already looking forward to returning to try more items from their menu.
First thing I noticed was the beautiful engraved door. Very friendly atmosphere. We were offered drinks while waiting to be seated for dinner. I had a coconut margarita which was amazing! I normally don’t drink margaritas. The guacamole was so fresh! Delicious! My husband and daughter loved the calamari! My husband got the Casa Villa Seafood, he was in heaven! The portions were large we left with two bags of food. The staff from start to finish were really impeccable! 10 out of 10. We will be returning!

As a vegan & allergic to dairy and they were so amazing and accommodated me without a second thought, I had the fajitas!! The veg was perfectly cooked and the rice/beans were DELISH! Very classic & they did my margarita as a mix of peach & raspberry! I would recommend asking for mom’s hot sauce, so earthy and yummy. Family owned and very kind staff!

First time at this hidden gem. OK, it’s not hidden, but I have definitely driven by 1000 times without checking it out. Now I have, and I may just stop every time from now on. The owners are a wonderful couple and their hospitality is unmatched. It is clear that so much love has been poured into this place and the food offered. We had lunch and the shrimp tacos just hit the spot. Never had better and you couldn’t beat the price. The portion size was very generous. I can’t wait to come back and try other things on the menu. Speaking of coming back, right now they are having an amazing promotion on gift certificates, check it out!

Delicious meal at Casa Villa. I had the seafood chimichangas. The chimichangas we're stuffed with all sorts of seafood chunks including shrimp and scallops. The dish came with rice, beans and a soup or salad. I ordered mine with the chicken noodle soup. Everything was hot delicious and authentic. I also ordered the regular margarita on the rocks which was really tasty as well. Definitely coming back and worth every penny.

Robert E Post Memorial Park is a picturesque park located by the river, offering beautiful surroundings for visitors to enjoy. With four pavilions, including one that is perfect for hosting wedding receptions with its well-equipped kitchenette, sink, refrigerator, and ample counter space (though no stove). The park also boasts clean and spacious handicap-accessible bathrooms conveniently situated near the main pavilion. The diligent groundskeepers ensure cleanliness throughout the entire park, consistently emptying trash bins to maintain its pristine appearance.
Beautiful river side park. Perfect for anyone wanting to w joy beautiful grounds. There are 4 pavilions. We had the largest for a wedding reception. Complete with a kitchen, sink, refrigerator and counter space, no stove. Very clean and spacious. It was nice to have full handicap bathrooms right off the main pavilion. They were very clean and stocked. The ground’s keepers were amazing and were working the whole time evening emptying the trash for us. I used to go here as kid and will be going back. What a treasure this place is.

Every time I go here I am met with very bad looks, most of which from the coordinators. As a lifelong artist, it's still a shock to see that the snobbiest individuals curate the worst shows. No hate to the artists. Just a profound lack of vision. Will not be going back seeing as my kind are not welcome xx.

Lighthouses
Rondout Lighthouse, situated at the mouth of Rondout Creek on the Hudson River, is a historic beacon that guided ships from 1915 until 1954. Accessible only by boat, visiting this lighthouse offers a glimpse into its vital role in maritime history. The lighthouse also features a meteorological apparatus and is surrounded by a causeway that can be flooded at times. Visitors may face challenges finding the site but are rewarded with an enriching experience once there.
The Hudson River Cruise on the RIP Van Winkle II. Nice cruise, great information. Went on a Monday 11:30 cruise out of Kingston not crowded. Family activity, snacks, water and restrooms in board
Brenda E — Google review
Definitely worth the trip. The guides are very informative and entertaining. The views from the top of the lighthouse are impressive, and the guides know how to divide the whole group into two and direct you to rooms along the way so that you're not just waiting to get to the top. Though I don't consider the museum worth $10, admission to the museum is included with the $30 ticket purchase, so you could also look around there for 30-45 minutes before or after your ride -- depending on when you arrive.
Ariella B — Google review
It was cool place to see the lighthouse but it wasn't the best angle to view it, the rest of the view was nice down rondout creek, I want to make plans to see the light house from a better vantage point or go to a tour of it if they are offered.

There were four of us that went on the tour yesterday. We had a great time! The Captain, mate and tour guide were very nice and knowledgeable. I would love to see the Lighthouse made into a B and B! Highly recommend this tour.

What an unexpected surprise! Our family of 4 took the Solaris to the Lighthouse, which I had expected to be a bunch of stairs and a light. Instead, it was a home where families of the lighthouse caretaker lived. It was great to learn about this bit of history.

The Trolley Museum of New York, located in Kingston, NY, is a delightful destination for anyone interested in the history of rail transportation. This charming museum showcases an impressive collection of vintage trolleys and train cars that once traversed the region and beyond. Open on weekends from April to October, visitors can enjoy trolley rides along a retired line while exploring fascinating exhibits filled with old photographs and videos that highlight the evolution of rail travel in the Hudson Valley.
The Trolley Museum of New York is a unique and fun destination for both history buffs and families. It offers an impressive collection of historic trolleys and streetcars, some of which you can even ride! The museum provides interesting insights into the history of public transportation in the area, with exhibits that are both informative and engaging. The trolley ride along the scenic Kingston waterfront is a highlight, offering beautiful views of the Hudson River. It's a great spot for a nostalgic trip into the past and a delightful experience for visitors of all ages.

The Trolley Museum is a nice little museum in Kingston, NY. The museum has many interesting trolley and train cars from all across the world. Some of the cars come from as far away as Norway and Belgium. On top of seeing all sorts of train cars the museum offers a trolley ride as well. The trolley ride goes along the Hudson River in downtown Kingston. The trolley car itself is a restored and refurbished 1925 trolley car from Johnstown, Pennsylvania. After seeing downtown in the trolley car it goes to Kingston Point Park and Rotary Park which have excellent views of the Hudson River and the Rondout Lighthouse. Trolley riders are allowed to get out and walk around in this area. The trolley ride is a little bit noisy, but it is still very good. The museum’s display of trolley’s is very good, but could use some work in how the cars are presented. You can board many of them. Some of them are inside, others are outdoors. A neater display would be beneficial, it seems some of the cars are all over the place and it is dusty. Don’t miss the 9/11 police SUV that was destroyed in the terrible attack. The museum and its volunteers clearly work very hard on this museum. Tickets for the trolley ride can be purchased in the museum. Stop by, take a look at the museum and enjoy the trolley ride to the sights and sounds of Kingston.

The Trolley Museum of New York in Kingston, NY, is a hidden gem nestled along the scenic banks of the Hudson River. Our visit was an exhilarating blend of exploration and innovation as we mapped the area and captured breathtaking drone footage. The museum's rich history and vintage trolleys add to its charm, while the picturesque surroundings provided a captivating backdrop for our project. With near-perfect weather, the day was a seamless fusion of learning and creativity. A delightful experience that showcased the museum's allure and the Hudson's natural beauty. A must visit location with friends and family, especially kids. I would rate this 5 stars without any hesitation.

Went on a Sunday with excellent weather. It wasn't a public holiday and even though I got there a bit late in the day, around 3:30 or so, the official hours on their website stated they were open until 5 o'clock. They were closed, gates shut and locked, and no signs mentioning any reason for their closure that day. Apparently, this has been a problem with other visitors and after a bit of research I found out the museum has been struggling in recent years, especially when it comes to getting volunteers on board. I do hope they can get back on track. From the photos I saw on the days they were open, it looked like a nice place.
The H — Google review
We went on a trolley ride down to Kingston point...it was very very beautiful. Great way to see the leaves and the river. And the lighthouse. The tour and talk was really informative, my son had been before and he had interesting things to add. It was a good time and it was a beautiful day.
Joan H — Google review
Currently during COVID only open 12-5 on weekends by volunteers, this is not a typical "museum". There are few retired/rescued subway trains/buses outside to view. More in the garage under repair. Some history/pictures in the gift shop. That was about it! You can tell the resource is limited and the volunteers are devoting. It's certainly satisfying for a track fan kid and even for adults just knowing what to expect. The trolley goes along the Hudson river between Maritime Museum and the Kingston Point Park. It was a relaxing 20 minute ride.

Step back in time and explore the rich history of Kingston at the Senate House State Historic Site. This limestone building served as the meeting place for New York's elected representatives in 1777, just a year after the Declaration of Independence was signed. The site offers guided tours that provide insight into the life of an 18th-century family, showcasing period tools, furniture, and art. Visitors can gain a deeper understanding of New York State's foundation and its government's early formation.
It was interesting to learn that the city of Kingston was the first capital of New York.

This is more of a reflection on the makers market happening today at the Senate house then on the building itself. I might come back for a tour sometime. Clearly, Kingston has indeed turned into a little Brooklyn and I was disappointed to see only a few local makers at this event. A bit crowded as well, I was glad I had my mask.

We visited during covid and in the morning shortly after opening so it was not too busy. We had a tour without other guests which was nice. Our guide was nice and knowledgeable. She humored us and answered/discussed our questions with us which was fun. Lots to look at here. Only thing that I wish were different is upstairs in the museum there are photos of what the senate house looked like in the early 1900's/late 1800's and the decor is very different and seems much more involved than what is currently in the house. It would be nice to see it similar to those photos which were beautiful. Very nice place in town to visit.

Had an excellent time. It was definitely a "hidden gem" and very worth it. You walk in and it seems very simple, not knowing what to expect. But once you get through the gift shop and into the main tour... it's amazing! The guy knew his stuff and was so much fun. He is clearly very passionate and cares about his hobby/collection which seems like it's just become his life's work. The authenticity alone was worth it to me. I imagine it would be a great experience for kids 3+ (too many adorable toys and kids under 3 are pretty hard to redirect away from toys...) and I recommend it even as just a stop while passing through the area.

Had the best time ever here! Nan gave us an amazing tour. Got to meet Steve on the way out and chat about the teddy bear world a bit more. Loved every second and even got my first Steiff!

This was such a unique and wonderful experience! We decided to randomly stop by after seeing the sign on the road - and we’re so glad we did. My cheeks hurt when I left from smiling so much. Steve was an informed, patient, and awesome host — he gave us a wonderful tour. There are lots of cute stuffed animal toys here if you’re not necessarily into bears. If you’re in the area, definitely stop by!

What a quirky yet interesting and informative place to stop in New York State! The entire history of Steiff animals is there waiting to be learned and the owners, Steve and Nan, are friendly and enthusiastic. The guided tour given by Steve was really cool. And the stuffed animals and other items are so cute! Worth a visit for sure!!

I loved the stuffed animal museum so, so much! I had a great time learning about the history of certain stuffed animals and seeing all the exhibits. Steve's enthusiasm for what he does is contagious. I bought an adorable bear that he kindly agreed to sell me from the museum collection to give to my aunt, who fell in love with it on first sight. Bubble tea was delicious. If you find yourself in upstate NY, this is a must see! Thank you, Steve, for creating a place with my four favorite things: stuffed animals, history, bubble tea, and cozy little spaces filled with pillows and bears! 🧸🐻

Graziano's Downtown Cafe

Restaurant
Graziano's Downtown Cafe in Kingston is a beloved spot known for its homemade pasta and delightful desserts. The chef, Graziano, pours love and care into every dish, ensuring that each one is amazing. The seafood dishes like the prawns and scallops Fra Diablo are particularly recommended, as well as the flavorful polenta with wild mushrooms. The attentive staff and welcoming atmosphere make it a must-visit for both locals and visitors alike. Reservations are suggested due to its popularity.
Graziano's is undoubtedly the quirkiest restaurant you'll ever step into. The focus isn't on aesthetics; it feels like you've walked into your uncle's kitchen or a cousin's backyard barbecue. The chef, dressed casually in a t-shirt, mans a residential stove, and the outdoor seating—part of which is an open garage—features a mix of old wooden tables and plastic patio sets. We came for a birthday celebration after hearing great things about the food, so the setting caught us off guard at first. But we quickly got over it because the food is mind-blowingly good. In a time when many restaurants prioritize being Instagram-worthy over serving satisfying meals, Graziano's is a refreshing change. We had to wait a bit to get our waitress's attention, but once we did, she was friendly and helpful. We ordered the gorgonzola salad, which was fresh and delicious, with a mix of fruits and veggies that I wouldn’t have thought would go together but made for an incredible dish. We also had the gnocchi and the angel hair pasta with saffron and cream—both were outstanding. We couldn't stop raving about how good everything was. You can tell that a lot of love and care goes into each dish and that every ingredient is fresh. I highly recommend Graziano's to anyone visiting. Just know you're in for a bit of quirk, and if you're looking for fancy, this isn't the place. But for authentic, absolutely delicious Italian food with generous portions, this is the best place to go!
Amber A — Google review
One of the best dining experiences of my life. Chef Graz created a vegan gnocchi concoction on-the -fly with nuts, capers, olives, etc plus fresh herbs that was amazing. So many tastes and surprisingly light. This cozy nook has casual ambience being at a great chef friend’s home in Italy. I will be back!
Greg I — Google review
What a terrific place in Kingston! Chef Graziano creates every dish with love and care. We explored many dishes tonight - none of them were less than amazing - the polenta and scallops melted in my mouth, the seafood ( prawns and scallops) Fra Diablo had the perfect spicy flavor and the baked cod was nested in a sauce with artichokes and capers. The dessert choices were wonderful - We went with a classic tiramisu - oh boy - light and delicious! Great place and a very attentive staff and welcoming Chef!

Absolutely wonderful experience - when we went it was quite busy, and the staff all worked incredibly hard and we felt very taken care of. We went for my birthday and we're so welcomed. More than anything, my GOD is the food wonderful - it was clearly the most authentic and delicious Italian food we've had in ages with very generous portions. The Chef clearly is a master of his craft - We would absolutely recommend to anyone in a heartbeat!

We were a party of five ladies, all coming together from around the country for a reunion. Our first impression was to turn around and leave but we stayed based upon the reviews. The building, floors and decor could be elevated. Some floorboards in main walkways were rotted and unstable. Many tables were portable white plastic folding tables without a table cloth. We were seated at two tables pressed together, one had a tablecloth one did not. Our server did not notice. There was one server for three dining rooms plus the outside seating area. She was delightful and worked very quickly to provide quick service nearly running at times, but it still took an hour for our orders to be placed. The menu has many wonderful appetizer and entree options, and we were all very pleased with our choices and with the quality of the food. The food was exceptional! So fresh, such wonderful flavors and beautifully presented! The portions were huge and we all took half our meals home with us. It is the best pasta and seafood I’ve enjoyed in Ulster County in a very long time. We shared green salad and a Caesar salad, we all had a pasta, two of us with shrimp, calamari and scallops, another ravioli, another puttanesca, and another with scallops and saffron cream sauce. All delicious. The wine and beer only menu is not nearly as impressive, however. The quality of the wines offered was surprisingly disappointing. And without an option of a bar menu for a cocktail, it did detract from the culinary experience it could have been. If I return I will inquire if they have a corking policy so I can bring better wine to pair with his exceptional food. My takeaway is that the food is exceptional, the server was fabulous (but understaffed), and the atmosphere and wine list could be improved.

Started off with appetizer of delightful gorgonzola pear Salad with cuke slices, rich thick balsamic vinegar with candied walnuts, deep red cherry tomatoes, grapes, olives! Like a picture, I thought! I had the seafood linguini. The prawns delightful. For 35.00, I would rather of had garlicky mussels, instead of calamari & clams. Great crusty garlic bread. Vegans accommodated. Huge plate of tasty polenta, covered with wild mushrooms, tomatoes, etc. for 27.00. Fantastic tiramisu with espresso. A true Italy experience! Oh, the best was an appetizer of delicious rich brandy cream sauce with 4 jumbo scallops & cremini mushrooms! About 5 tables outside in side garage to eat. I sat by sidewalk, so I was happy. Ciao to the chef who does it all himself. Great job. He loves to cook, I heard him say. Expensive, but it was a great treat!!!

We just had the strangest dining experience of our lives. The waitress plopped down two waters, appeared to get in an argument with the chef, and left. We continued to sit there, hoping someone would wait on us for about 15 minutes, but nobody came over. The chef/owner could see us sitting there, but apparently could care less, so we left.

Restaurant
Chleo is a charming and inviting spot in Kingston that offers a variety of experiences for visitors. Whether you're into cocktails or beer, there are several options to choose from, including Stockade Tavern and Keegan Ales. For book lovers, Rough Draft Bar & Books provides a unique setting to enjoy snacks, coffee, and drinks. The bar also features an open concept kitchen with entertaining ambiance. Additionally, Chleo offers veggie comfort food and live music at Tubbys.
Food was absolutely amazing!! And I came in right at close (9pm) didn't mean to, just got off work and wanted to eat. The owner suggested my meal and I totally went with it. The potatoes were super delicious and the porkchop was fantastic!! The bartender suggested a citrus mescal cocktail and it was superb!! The bartender suggested a dessert and I went with it!! Overall was absolutely amazing!!

We wandered into Chleo on a weekend getaway and left plotting how soon we could come back. Every dish left us wishing we had come with a larger group so we could try even more dishes. Our waitress recommended we share 5-6 dishes between us. Here is what we tried: - Spaghetti Alla Nerano: the kind of summer pasta dish you dream about. Honestly, we could’ve happily eaten a whole vat of it. - Pork Schnitzel: perfectly crisp on the outside and tender inside. - Scallop Crudo: bright and refreshing with peaches, melon, and pineapple. - Tomato Pie: another standout. The cornmeal crust was so good we joked that if they made a foot-long version, it would be the perfect bite. - Smashed Cucumbers were a hit too, pairing beautifully with smoked and whipped trout roe and fresh dill. Between the perfect flavors and the warm, relaxed vibe, Chleo is definitely a must-visit for a date night or a group dinner in Kingston.

It’s rare that every dish I order wows me, and I was so pleased that Chleo achieved that! 1. Little Gem Salad, Buttermilk Dressing, Radishes, Toasted Seeds (not pictured) • 9/10 The greens were absolutely gorgeous, and the dressing was perfectly decadent while not being too heavy. My only critique is that I am a lover of seeds and nuts in everything, and it was seeded a little too heavily to the point that every bite was a little bit difficult to chew. This didn’t hinder my experience but it was definitely noticeable, 2. Spaghetti with agretti and anchovy • 10/10 This was so delicious. I had never had agretti before and I asked the waitress what it was, neither of us could quite figure it out even though I was googling it while we were talking. The balance in flavor and texture of this dish was incredible. Anchovy can be so overpowering and it was used perfectly here, just as an addition to the depth of the sauce. 3. Kingston Bread & Bar Sourdough + Cultured butter • 9/10 I will never get over how good this bread is. The crust to soft inside ratio is perfect, and the sourness from the sourdough is just right. My only criticism here is that the bread is $5 and the butter is $2. I understand these are local and well made foods but in my opinion the bread should come with butter. I’d be happy to pay for them as a unit it just seems silly to order a side of butter. This is probably on the menu like this because there are other things you can buy to add to the bread (cheese, pate, etc) but still, the bread should come with butter. Overall this was a really amazing experience and I’m so excited to come back when I visit Kingston again!

I'm sad to say I was wildly disappointed with our experience at Chleo because I was truly looking forward to not only a wonderful evening, but we are also looking for a restaurant where we can become regulars in Kingston. Unfortunately our search will continue. Perhaps Chleo is more of a sharing restaurant...because there were literally only two dinners to choose from on the menu... lamb or spaghetti...we ordered one of each, and also ordered the potato rosti as an appetizer. Thank goodness we did...because the lamb was just a small plate of meat...there was not a potato, not a veggie, not a roll to accompany it and the spaghetti, was a tiny portion of noodles with a little parmesan and basil. Our waitress was lovely, but I wish she had explained that my $41 entree was just a few slices of delicious meat, and if I was looking for anything else to make it into a full meal, I would need to order more. Needless to say, we will not be returning, and if you're hungry for a full meal with more than one food group represented, I suggest you look elsewhere.

I sat at the bar solo on a busy Tuesday night. Service was attentive and welcoming. Food was amazing. It's more of a sharing menu, but I was very happy with my two dishes, the potato rosti and the grilled squash. They were both excellent and I want to come back to try more!

Chleo is a truly special place - everything from the food, wine list, drinks, ambiance and hospitality is deeply intentional and superb. From the moment you enter, you feel welcome and cared for by their amazing team. Each time we dine at Chleo is the best meal we’ve ever had. The kind of experience that leaves us talking for a long, long while. Oh, and don’t even consider skipping dessert. This spot and these people are one of a kind!

It could be me not being a fan of the Smokey flavor the wood fire adds, but most of the wood fired food seems to have too pungent of a smoke flavor to enjoy thoroughly. Seems a tad expensive for the portions you are given. All in all, it’s got a good wine selection (although a little pricey) and a good vibe. If you go for food I would do the potato rosti and the carrots. Otherwise, maybe just go for the wine and the vibes.

It is hard for me to put into words how much I love Chleo. The owners have created a warm, welcoming and beautiful space and just as much thought and care has gone into the food and service. I love the small plates for sharing and I never take photos of my food. I believe the place is very good value when you consider the quality of the fresh local ingredients and the way the chefs transform them. The service is attentive but relaxed...one night we sat at the chef's counter and felt like we enjoyed a show as well as a yummy dinner. Cocktails and the wines are superb. I worked in restaurants in NYC over half my adult life but have lived in Ulster County for over 30 years. These are a talented bunch of folks who very much understand what the hospitality industry is all about and I feel fortunate that they have chosen Kingston for their home.

Japanese restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Kingston, NY, Golden Ginza is a charming Japanese restaurant that offers an array of delightful dining experiences. Known for its inventive cuisine, this hibachi venue serves everything from fresh sushi and sashimi to signature dishes like beef negimaki and chicken teriyaki. Guests can enjoy the excitement of Teppanyaki-style cooking at individual tables or savor their meals in a more traditional setting.
Great atmosphere!!! Located downtown Strand area plenty parking nearby. We stopped in for lunch. We were greeted warmly and seated right away. Everything was EXCEPTIONAL. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED We will be returning for sure!!! Many thanks to the wonderful staff and management!!!

What a great gem of hibachi in Kingston. The employees are very nice and the chef was very accommodating with our requests. Give it a try!

I love this restaurant ! Can’t wait to go back to dine in and try the steak hibachi 🤗 The miso soup is delicious, the sushi is so good, we had tried with my husband “take out sushi” from this restaurant couple times and never disappointed! The service was very good. I recommend both take out and dine in!

I order to go. The sushi rolls are delicious! Service was fast and packaging was secure.

All of the staff went above and beyond, especially the woman who seated us and our wonderful hibachi chef! They handled a busy and short-staffed night very well, were very accommodating with an order mix-up, and everything was delicious! ❤️

It's always a favorite spot to go. I love sitting at the hibachi table! So much fun! It is a little pricey, but totally worth it.
Christine F — Google review
I enjoyed the food and service overall! I found their sauces to lack flavor and their cucumber salad was made like a day before, because the cucumbers were limp... also I feel giving out canned pineapple is just lazy and feels like something you get at a buffet, if your gonna give out something to add to the meal, then put effort into it or don’t do it at all! This place also needs an update the decor is crooked and wrinkled up and photos all over the walls of previous guests and the ceiling tiles are very nasty needs a deep clean and some new carpet/flooring. So the atmosphere and the things that come with your meal (soup, salad, and pineapple dessert?) lol we’re not up to par...I’d rather I’ve just not got them ...so I give it one less star. The things I did order were good!

Charming Japanese restaurant for Kingston n.y area. Offers Teppanyaki style and individual table's .Fresh sashimi, sushi, nice touch with complimentary oshinko, shrimp/vegetable tempura, light and fresh, delicious ,gyoza fried well. Yaki-tori (chicken) would taste better if grilled instead of boiled and sauce added. ingredient's fresh and chef is very accommodating if you have food allergy they will make sure you are happy. Nice size portions also a plus. You won't leave hungry. You won't be disappointed if you stop by for a bite. $$$

Fast food restaurant
McDonald's, a renowned and enduring fast-food franchise recognized for its hamburgers and fries, is celebrated for its exceptional service. The management at this particular branch has consistently demonstrated kindness and professionalism to all customers. Notably, an employee with distinctively styled hair reminiscent of a member from the Jonas Brothers deserves recognition and reward for their outstanding performance. The morning crew exemplifies dedication by tirelessly striving to satisfy every customer’s needs.
My children love getting French Fries 🍟 and Happy Meals after school and honestly the lemonade is so refreshing I'm glad they don't stop selling it. It's great 😃

Tara G — Google review
So my husband had a nostalgic yen for a MickeyD's fish sandwich, and we braved the hideous new exterior color scheme and hit the drive thru. First disappointment was the fries. Crunchy in a stale sort of way, as if they had been sitting under the warming light for hours. Inedible. Big Mac had no sauce whatsoever, just paper thin greyish tasteless Mystery Meat. Way to wreck someone's nostalgic guilty pleasure, folks! Haven't tried the fish yet but not hoping for much. Overall, strong flavor of impending bankruptcy. And the price! 2 shakes, 2 sandwiches, 1 large fries - $30.00. Never again, just never again.
Anne C — Google review
I know this sounds dramatic but I truly believe this is the single worst McDonald’s restaurant on the planet. They leave stuff out of the order every time. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. We used to go here often. Months ago they left stuff out of our order. I took the survey in the app to report that I had paid for items and not received them. The response said I’d be contacted by the franchise owner…. Guess what? I wasn’t. So we didn’t go back for months. Today we went only because it was convenient. Guess what? We paid for things and didn’t receive them. Big surprise. If I could leave zero stars I would.

Everything was great! I am not good with apps. I downloaded the app and was able to get discounts and free food. When I went through the drive up they were extremely helpful and explained how to use the app. They were patient and such nice people! And food was great! Thank you
