Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve, located within the city limits of San Diego, is a breathtaking 2,000-acre coastal wilderness. It offers a diverse landscape with rare Torrey pine trees, chaparral plant communities, untouched beaches, and protected tidal zones. The reserve is perfect for hiking and wildlife enthusiasts who can explore oceanside trails while spotting occasional dolphins or bobcats.
Came to Torrey Pines with friends for an easy, scenic hike — and it was absolutely worth it. The trails are well-maintained and manageable, making it a great spot for all fitness levels. The ocean views along the cliffs are stunning, and the overall scenery is incredibly picturesque. Whether you’re looking to get some fresh air, take in coastal views, or snap a few great photos, Torrey Pines delivers. Highly recommend if you’re in the area and want a peaceful outdoor experience without a strenuous trek. Pro tip: For an easier hike, find parking at the top of the hill.

This hike was amazing! 🌊 The entry fee was $20, and we drove all the way up to the top parking lot to start the West Overlook Trail (about 3 miles). The beginning was mostly downhill with incredible ocean views and cool lookout spots. The way back is uphill, so it’s definitely a workout—but worth it. I highly recommend wearing good shoes and bringing plenty of water, especially if you’re hiking midday.
Dristi T — Google review
Breathtakingly beautiful and serene! The mountains on one side and the ocean on the other side makes it even more scenic. So many beautiful trails leading to the peaks where you can watch the sunset or sunrise in the most spectacular views. I loved going here and will come back again and again! Hands down 5 star!

Came here on a Friday afternoon late September. $20 day use fee. Did my hikes from the parking lot across the road from the visitor center. Good amount of parking. I could see it being an issue on really busy days. Porta potties there with hand washing stations. Pretty clean porta potties that didnt smell too bad. Decently warm day but there was a breeze most of the time making it pleasant most of the time. Hiked to Red Butte, Razor Point, Yuma Overlook, and the beach. Took a bit more than an hour including meditation and picture time. Downhill mostly to beach then back uphill to parking lot. Mostly gentle. Nothing too crazy. I am a middle aged guy that sits at a computer working everyday for most of the day and have some mild asthma and still did just fine. Amazing stuff. Although there were plenty of people there, there were still quiet times to enjoy the ambiance and sounds and meditate. Scenery is unreal, and the trails are well marked. Pictures I attach do speak a thousand words and display the incredible scenery. Got my beloved souvenir patch and postcards at the VC, which has no bathrooms or water for water bottle. Highly recommended. I posted lots of pics because this place deserves it.

This was an incredible experience. We drove up, parked and walked a trail. The view is stunning. I am so glad we decided to go here. After the hike we stopped by the beach. I'm so glad we came here.

A wonderful steep hike from the northern part of the parking lot down to the beach. Not for the week or people with bad knees. Lots of stingrays, so be very careful in the water to your feet

Simply, some of the best trail running in Southern California. One of the best places in the world to take a sunset walk. If you like hiking and walking with a family or loved ones… This is the place.
LaMar H — Google review
Torrey pines has many trails to hike and even run! Some trails have a lot of sage and smell great. We really enjoyed the beach -- it was not super crowded (during weekdays). The only problem is the traffic out, especially during rush hours. The State Park entrance and parking is $15 and there is plenty of space. There is also free parking before the entrance but it is almost always fully packed. If you arrive early, you might be lucky.

Perched atop the breathtaking coastal cliffs of La Jolla, the Torrey Pines Gliderport is a renowned destination for paragliding and hang gliding enthusiasts. Offering sweeping vistas of the Pacific Ocean, rugged cliffs, and the Torrey Pines coastline, this site provides an exhilarating experience for thrill-seekers and nature lovers alike. Visitors can take to the skies for tandem or solo flights, or simply soak in the stunning surroundings while enjoying refreshments at the on-site cafe.
Stunningl! It's a must whether you're visiting or living in California. It's still free to access this natural and stunningly beautiful area. There's a cafe/restaurant if you want to get a bite and relax or bring a picnic and beach chairs. Binoculars and CAMERAS. Sensible shoes as terrain is rough and slippery (if you want to walk around or hike) - I was terrified to see a few visitors in heels and clearly not prepared. Listen to the whoosh and watch the wonder of the hang gliders. Or, just soak in the peace of the scenery. Parking was plentiful, but I wasn't there on a weekend, nor was there any evidence of a special event. Enjoy this gorgeous area. Marvel.

World class para gliding and hand gliding center. Amazing scenic beauty of stiff uneven cliffs and beach. Restaurants and Bar are available. Nice tourist spot. Almost crowded during sun set time. Enjoyed sun set at this beautiful point

Surreal out of a movie. I used to surf here back in the day. It seems like nothing has changed same waves, same winds, same tourist curiosity. It is my Sunday mass session here today listening to the waves and feeling the cool wind breeze on my face. God is great. 🙏🏽💯🌈

Torrey Pines Gliderport in San Diego is a world-famous aviation site perched atop the scenic cliffs of La Jolla, offering breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. Known as one of the best coastal soaring locations in the world, it attracts hang gliders, paragliders, and remote-control model sailplane enthusiasts year-round. The site has a rich history dating back to the early 1900s, when aviation pioneers first tested gliders there. Today, visitors can watch colorful paragliders take off and glide effortlessly over the ocean or even take tandem flights with certified instructors. With its combination of adventure, history, and stunning coastal beauty, Torrey Pines Gliderport is a must-visit destination for thrill-seekers and sightseers alike.

Absolutely amazing experience! I was paired up with a very experienced and fun pilot, Alex. He made me feel completely comfortable and safe. But he did some tricks and let me take over for a few minutes as well. The view and the feeling of soaring with the birds is hard to describe. Try it, you won't be disappointed. Do call to check the winds or go early and sign up then hike around the area and come back when you see gliders going up. Brought my gopro and got great video. But they also will take pics of you. Tuesday and Thursday if you pay cash you get those free.

Great walking trails. Loved this. Also access to the beach via stairs. It's a long walk down. Beautiful homes on the cliffs. It's not a difficult hike up and down, but a lot of fun.

Nestled above a wide sandy beach, Powerhouse Park in Del Mar offers stunning Pacific Ocean views and a range of amenities for visitors. The park features a children's playground, picnic areas, and restrooms, making it an ideal spot for families to enjoy a day out. For those seeking a romantic setting, the lush green lawns provide the perfect backdrop for a picturesque picnic. Additionally, guests can take advantage of private event options accommodating up to 24 people.
A great spot to relax and enjoy quality time with children. The swing seats offer a beautiful ocean view. There’s even a mini sand area for kids to play, making it a perfect place for family fun.

There's a large grassy area overlooking the ocean, great for picnics. There's plenty of benches for watching the surfers. Music events are common over the summer. Paid parking is available across the street, but there's also street parking if you get lucky. There are several restaurants walkable for lunch.

Google Review ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Del Mar Beach and Powerhouse Park are absolute gems! The beach is stunning, with soft sand, gentle waves, and breathtaking views—especially at sunset. It’s perfect for a relaxing walk, letting kids play, or just enjoying the peaceful sound of the ocean. Powerhouse Park, right next to the beach, is an amazing spot for families. The grassy area is great for picnics, and there’s a playground for kids to enjoy. It’s also a fantastic place to sit and take in the ocean views. The combination of the beach and the park creates a welcoming, community-focused space where everyone can unwind and appreciate the beauty of Del Mar. Whether you’re a local or visiting, this is a must-see spot in Southern California!
Samuel G — Google review
Powerhouse Park in Del Mar, San Diego, is nothing short of spectacular. It combines the serene beauty of a coastal escape with the charm and accessibility of a well-maintained public park, making it, in my opinion, one of the best beach destinations in the world. From the moment you arrive, the breathtaking view of the Pacific Ocean greets you with open arms. The park sits on a bluff directly overlooking the beach, offering panoramic views of the coastline, vibrant sunsets, and the calming sound of crashing waves. It’s an ideal spot for picnics, leisurely strolls, or simply relaxing with a book while enjoying the sea breeze. The beach itself is wide and clean, with soft sand and gentle slopes into the ocean. It’s perfect for all kinds of beachgoers—whether you’re looking to swim, surf, or just lay out in the sun. The waves are moderate, making it a great spot for both seasoned surfers and beginners. Families with kids will love the tide pools at low tide, where little ones can explore and discover marine life in a safe and fun way. The grassy park area is beautifully maintained and includes plenty of benches and picnic tables, ideal for gathering with friends or hosting casual events. The iconic Powerhouse Community Center building adds a unique architectural charm to the location, and it’s often used for weddings and celebrations thanks to its unbeatable oceanfront setting. What really sets Powerhouse Park apart is its atmosphere. It’s peaceful and relaxing, yet full of life. You’ll often see joggers, yogis practicing at sunrise, families enjoying picnics, and surfers running toward the waves. And just a short walk away, you’ll find a variety of excellent restaurants, coffee shops, and boutiques along Camino Del Mar—making it easy to spend the whole day in the area. Free and metered parking is available nearby, though it can get crowded during weekends and holidays, so arriving early is a good idea. Restrooms and showers are also conveniently located, making it practical for a full day at the beach. All in all, Powerhouse Park offers a perfect mix of natural beauty, recreational fun, and coastal charm. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, this beach delivers a memorable experience every time. It’s more than just a beach—it’s a little slice of paradise.

Love this park They allow dogs (on leash) Parking is hard if u get there late. We always go around 830-900am and find street parking. We paid $20.00 for the whole day At the parking lot, its $20.00 for just 2 hours. When u get to powerhouse park, u can go either left or right on the beach. Seems more people go right, but theres alot of room around.

Jake's Del Mar is a seaside eatery and bar offering upscale dining with stunning ocean views. Housed in a historic building dating back to 1910, it has served various purposes over the years, adding to its rich history. The restaurant provides an unforgettable dining experience, especially during sunset when guests can enjoy breathtaking views of the Pacific through floor-to-ceiling windows.
Jake’s has great service and really good food. It was my first time visiting this restaurant that’s located steps from the sand at Del Mar beach. I used open table to reserve a seat for two. We walked right up and were seated on the patio with an outstanding view of the beach. We got the muscles, which were amazing, a burger and a chicken sandwich. The muscles were nice and spicy with sausage in the mix. Delicious. The burger was a good size with some big slices of bacon on top. The fries were a hit.

If you're looking for a spot right on the water, Jake's is a great option! We came here for the first time recently and really enjoyed our visit. We got seated outside which was nice but unfortunately we didn't have a view of the ocean. However, there is a walkway from the restaurant directly on to the beach. The service was great throughout our whole meal. Food wise, delicious! We started with the ceviche which was so tasty. I ordered the Scallops and my wife ordered the Surfing Steak. Everything tasted fantastic! Even the kids meals were good sizes. It is a little pricey but it's also directly on the beach. The inside was nice and had beautiful views. Valet parking is only $10 if you can't find street parking. Overall, we really enjoyed our dinner here!

**Outstanding Dining Experience at Jake's Del Mar** ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ What an incredible evening at Jake's Del Mar! This beachfront gem offers everything you could want in a dining experience - stunning ocean views, exceptional service, and absolutely outstanding food. We started with the calamari and crab cake appetizers, both of which were perfectly prepared and delicious. My husband ordered the halibut special, which was so exceptional that I couldn't resist trying it even though I wasn't planning on having a main course. The freshness of the ingredients really shines through - you can taste that everything is made with the highest quality, just-prepared produce. Our server was both friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, making excellent recommendations and ensuring we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The conversation flowed as beautifully as the ocean waves just outside. This was honestly the best meal I've had in months. The restaurant's location right on the beach creates an unbeatable atmosphere, and while the restrooms are quite small, they're impeccably clean. Jake's Del Mar has earned a permanent spot on our list of favorite restaurants. Highly recommend for anyone looking for fresh, expertly prepared food with unparalleled ocean views and top-notch service. They offer valet for $10 and it’s cheaper that the public parking across the road which was $30

My review is based on my lunch experience. I came here for lunch today. On a Thursday. Got seated right away in the back by the windows. Beautiful beach views. I ordered calamari to start and Burger with fries. The calamari was amazing. My server Tia said it was delicious and it sure is. The server is very hospitable. The calamari was nice and crispy and not chewy. The Birger was ordered medium. It was cooked perfect with avocado. I saw it in a picture and it didn't disappoint. The fries were crispy and seasoned just right. I definitely want to come back for dinner

We were there to celebrate a birthday and it was absolutely perfect! We made reservations ahead of time and they had a table by the window with a birthday card waiting. We each had a Mai Tai (which were very good.) For dinner, we had the Lemon Garlic Roasted Fish (which was Sea Bass) that night and the special, which was Alaskan Halibut. Both were very good. We saved room for the Hula Pie, which was amazing! It's almost like a hot fudge sundae in the form of a pie piece. We would absolutely order that again (and probably go out of our way for it!) The staff was very attentive and polite. On top of everything, the view of sunset was spectacular!

Great food, great service and a definite recommendation. The restaurant has an amazing view of the sea. Great for brunch and lunch while having a relaxed time staring at the sea.

We went to have dinner here with friends while visiting San Diego. When we arrived, we waited to be seated at the very busy bar. It took 10 minutes for them to even acknowledge us. The room and the bar were very lively, but also very noisy. The best part of the room is the exquisite view of the ocean. We finally were seated and ordered several things from the menu. I did not taste anyone else’s food. However the calamari was really good… Different but a nice flavor. I would’ve preferred it a little crispier, though. I had a Caesar salad salad that was good. However my steak was very very salty. I wasn’t even able to eat it. Everyone else seemed relatively satisfied with their food. But overall, it was just OK.

Always love going to Jake’s!!! I always feel so relaxed here, especially when you are sitting near the window! You can really feel the fresh salty ocean breeze:) Also one of the best salads I have ever had, so refreshing and light!

L'Auberge Del Mar is a luxurious resort that offers a coastal estate experience in the heart of Del Mar. The property features 121 elegant guest rooms and suites with plush bedding, marble bathrooms, and private balconies or patios. Guests can enjoy upscale dining options, an outdoor pool, two tennis courts, and a 24-hour fitness center. The award-winning spa, Spa L'Auberge, focuses on the healing powers of the ocean for relaxation and renewal.
Amazing, relaxing hotel experience. L'Auberge Del Mar is a great way to wind down/escape from the big city (overcrowded vibes). The property is quaint and beautiful. The service is top-notch and the beach is perfect. My family have been twice and we'll definitely be back for a third time.
Chris P — Google review
We chose L’Auberge for our anniversary trip. The property itself feels a bit tired (rooms and common spaces could use some refreshing), though the location is undeniably lovely. For our anniversary dinner, we decided to try Adelaide, the on-site restaurant. Unfortunately, it was disappointing. Service from our server was lacking, and the steak we ordered was poorly executed—it tasted like it had been torched to achieve the char we requested, leaving an unpleasant flavor. At the price point, it fell well short of expectations. The side dish that came with it also arrived cold. Overall, the food was just okay and not worth the premium pricing. On the positive side, some of the staff were excellent—Leo and Elyse at the front desk really stood out with their warmth and professionalism. Others, however, could benefit from additional training to elevate the guest experience to match the resort’s reputation. We also encountered some confusion around room rates and resort fees, but Elyse was proactive and helpful in resolving it, which we truly appreciated. In short, beautiful setting and a few standout staff members, but the overall value and dining experience left us underwhelmed.

Flawless Service and Coastal Elegance – Always Exceptional My wife and I are frequent guests of L’Auberge Del Mar, and each visit reminds us why it remains one of our favorite destinations. Whether enjoying breakfast with ocean breezes or dinner overlooking the sunset, the experience is consistently exceptional. From the moment you arrive and are greeted by the valet team, you’re met with warmth, professionalism, and a genuine sense of hospitality. The service throughout the property is attentive and polished, and the culinary experience is outstanding — fresh, beautifully presented, and perfectly timed. I also host business meetings at L’Auberge, and it continues to impress clients and colleagues alike. The setting, service, and attention to detail reflect a standard of excellence that few places maintain so consistently. From arrival to the final bite, L’Auberge Del Mar delivers perfection every time.

The rooms were great other than they could have used a little more sound insulation. The temperature controls were great, the shower and sink worked well and the bathroom was well laid out. The bed was comfortable. The patio was reasonably private. The service was awesome, from housekeeping to the front desk to the staff at the bar. An update: my lady lost her diamond necklace in the room but didn't notice until after we left. I called the front desk but action was not prompt and by the time someone went to look, there was another guest in the room. The most likely situation was that housekeeping found it, but as far as I can tell, no one asked the specific housekeeper that cleaned the room about the necklace. Net, I feel that we got lip service about a lost family heirloom.
Bruce M — Google review
Both the room & restaurant were super underwhelming for the price. However the staff was good and the location is incredible. But the rooms are akin to what you would find in a best western (small, somewhat outdated) and the food at the restaurant just wasn't worth the price, in fact it was bad. They also require valet in order to park which is an extra $25. If you don't care about those things, and only about location, this is a great spot.
Tripp — Google review
This hotel is beautiful with warm and friendly service from staff, but unfortunately there were a few things that kept our stay from being the restful babymoon that we'd hoped for: 1. The bed was ROCK HARD. My husband prefers a firmer mattress, but even he found the mattress to be very uncomfortable with not enough cushioning. I had terrible sleep while experiencing excruciating hip and back pain each night. Not fun as a pregnant person. I did call the front desk and mention the hard bed, but they were only able to offer a super thin mattress protector that didn't help. 2. The walls are paper thin with poor sound proofing. It didn't help that our room was located directly across from a bridal changing room. We were woken up very early one morning by a group of girls talking, laughing, and playing music. I could so clearly decipher what they were saying that they may as well have been hanging out in our room. We could also hear the wedding party/guests laughing, talking, and running through the hallway at 2 am. 3. There was a false fire alarm that went off on our last night there at around 2:30 am, and we had to evacuate our room. The front staff did waive our resort fee for that day for the inconvenience, which I am appreciative of. This is also something that I understand the hotel couldn't have helped. With everything added up, I unfortunately ended up with dark circles and bags under my eyes at the end of our babymoon.

For our 25th wedding anniversary, I booked a room with a view at this hotel, expecting a special experience to celebrate such a milestone. At over $1,500 for two nights, my expectations were high, but the reality was deeply disappointing. Upon arrival, the front desk staff, Ashlee, assigned us to what felt like the worst room in the hotel. It had a musty, moldy smell and offered a dismal view of another building’s rooftop—far from the scenic view I had paid for. When I raised the issue, Ashlee’s attitude was dismissive and unprofessional. After some back-and-forth, she reluctantly moved us to a better room, but her proud demeanor and condescending eye contact made the interaction uncomfortable. It felt like discrimination, and I couldn’t help but notice the lack of diversity, with barely any Asian guests visible in the hotel. The breakfast was another letdown. The options were limited, and the food was mediocre at best, not matching the caliber one would expect from a hotel charging such rates. Additionally, while the hotel claims to be “close to the beach,” it’s a good 5-minute walk, and there’s no ocean view from the property itself, which was misleading. The noise loud music turned off until 10:45pm and people were taking a loud in the lobby at 6:15am. Overall, this stay fell far short of the luxurious, celebratory experience we hoped for. The poor service, subpar amenities, and misleading claims made our anniversary feel anything but special. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a memorable getaway.

What a beautiful day we had rocking wellness on the Southern Pacific Coast in Del Mar at this resort. We were truly pampered women warriors and started the event with relaxed yoga, ocean breezes, sunshine and support! Everyone greeted us with a smile! Vendors were there with resources and giveaways- we made flower arrangements, crowns, got massages, did crafts and summed it all up with a catered luncheon! The food was delicious and healthy. VIP valet parking, the premises are so well kept, the lounge is comfortable and well laid out for either privacy or a meet & greet. Every room has an ocean view. I will certainly come back next year and make a point to visit in between privately - because this place is divine, indeed! Thanks for hosting all of us women warriors and for supporting all veterans/military and first response! 💝✨🤘

Sbicca is a charming New American bistro located in Del Mar, offering a relaxed atmosphere and stunning ocean views from its rooftop terrace. Run by the husband-and-wife team Dan and Susan Sbicca, this restaurant provides an inviting setting to savor culturally rich dishes paired with fine Italian wines. The menu features fresh seafood, crab cakes, and Italian flatbread, all made with organic and sustainable ingredients when possible.
An excellent restaurant just a short distance from Del Mar beach. Nice indoor and outdoor seating options with some ocean views. A great menu with amazing food. The fried chicken is awesome. Very good staff that were friendly and knowledgeable. Just a nice place to go for a casual dinner or even a group gathering.

This place is a gem, it has a nice bar area for a quick drink and catch up, also outdoor dining area for a cozy experience, and even a private room for a special gathering, and an upstairs area for more quiet, dining experience, It is very well layout for upscale dining. Our group has been there before and we obviously came back because we had a good experience, But this time around the service was very slow, It took 45 minutes for someone to take our order, And then another 25 minutes, for us to get our appetizers. I was honestly starving, so of course it made me notice things even more. We also waited very long time for drinks. And one of our food orders was the wrong dish, so someone in our group had to wait extra time for the food to come. It was nice that the dish was comped, but it added to the wait. And a server didn’t really came checking on us to see how the food was, or if anyone needed anything else so we didn’t have the chance to order more drinks or water, etc. We only saw him when dropping off food, or picking up plates. Other than that, the food was delicious, They oysters fresh, the desserts incredible.

Sbicca seems to be our go-to when my friend and I stay in Del Mar, convenient, good Happy Hour and 1/2 wine bottle days. We were in Del Mar for an extended stay and ended up dining here 4 time, all for Happy Hour at the bar area and meeting friend for dinner on the street level patio area. Out of all the times the service from the Bar and Jose on the patio was excellent. This is a great place to meet friends. As far as drinks go, the bar makes excellent Skinny Margaritas, Bloody Marys, Espresso and Regular Martinis and their 1/2 off wine days are great. Food has always been consistently good. The Mussels, Shrimp Fettuccini, Crispy Chicken Buns, Farm Burger, Salmon Crudo and the Meatballs all hot and fresh. The Mussels and burgers were excellent. Atmosphere: nice relaxing vibe, both indoor and outdoor seating. Service: excellent at Bar & Patio. Food: good.

We recently had an incredible happy hour experience that was all about good food, drinks, and the perfect vibe. The lineup we ordered included calamari, sliders, and sweet potato fries, and each dish was a standout. The calamari was cooked to perfection—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and not overly greasy. Paired with a flavorful dipping sauce, it was one of the best we’ve had and set the tone for a delicious spread. Next came the sliders, which were an absolute treat. The patties were juicy, well-seasoned, and served on soft, fresh buns. Topped with crisp veggies and cheese, each slider was packed with balanced flavors and just the right size to make you want more without being overwhelming. They were ideal for sharing or enjoying solo. The sweet potato fries rounded out our order. These were just the right blend of crispy and soft, seasoned perfectly to highlight their natural sweetness. The dipping sauce added a touch of extra flavor, making them an irresistible snack. A side note that made this happy hour even better: they offer half-off wine bottles on Tuesdays and Thursdays! This deal is perfect for wine lovers looking to elevate their happy hour experience. On top of it all, the service was fantastic. Our server was attentive, ensuring we had refills and everything we needed. The happy hour vibe was lively but relaxed, a great setting for enjoying delicious bites and drinks. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a top-tier happy hour!

Stopped in here for a late lunch after a day at the beach. The patio seating was very nice, and the server was so welcoming. We ordered the crab cake to share for an appetizer. I ordered the small size salmon salad, and my husband ordered the blackened salmon salad. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious! We enjoyed all our food so much!

Came for brunch to celebrate my husband's birthday and had a really great time. Lovely sitting outside and the food was also very nice! Massive portion size on everything and a really creative menu as well. I was a little sad that the website mentioned one salad that I was hoping to get but they didn't have it. But absolutely love how the server and kitchen were able to customize a salad just for me. Major thank you for that! Steak Salad but with chicken instead + strawberries. It had mixed greens, corn, cherry tomatoes, red onion, avocado. There was a dressing that came on the side as well but I didn't add any because it was lovely on its own. I would say the chicken was a little bit overcooked and dry but otherwise a very flavorful salad! Farmer Burger (Sautéed wild mushrooms, grilled onions, egg, Swiss cheese, arugula lettuce & garlic aioli) Husband got this burger with a side salad and the burger itself was phenomenal! The mushroom and onion along with the meat and cheese and everything else going on was really really delicious! Chorizo Flatbread (Mexican chorizo, scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, sliced avocado & chipotle crema) One of our friends got this with a side of bacon and he quite enjoyed it. Very large flatbread as well and it definitely looked appetizing! Benedict & Biscuits (creamy spinach, poached eggs, honey chipotle hollandaise, & breakfast potatoes) Not going to lie this meal looked really phenomenal! Quite a large portion size and those potatoes look tasty as well. I'm pretty sure it was nice because the guy actually finished everything Chilaquiles ( eggs, tortilla chips, tomatoes, red onion, avocado, crema, queso fresco & tomatillo sauce) Two people on our table actually got this and both said it was lovely. They liked how the chips were not cooked with the sauce and they were actually still crunchy. There was also extra sauce on the side which they appreciated. Both people said that they usually get soggy chilaquiles at other restaurants but this one was the perfect balance of crunchy and saucy. Churro French Toast Bites (with chocolate dipping sauce, whipped cream, seasonal berries) A friend on the table got this and shared it with her husband. Very creative concept here! I was expecting slices of bread but it turned out to be a little bits of bread that were cooked like French toast and then coated in cinnamon sugar. French toast itself was nice but I wasn't a fan of the chocolate sauce. So I personally wouldn't get this item but otherwise nice.

In general, pretty good food. Fish taco was a bit on the bland side, but the rest of the food are flavorful. Nice view from the patio.

I liked the food, I ordered the Sirloin Taco with fries. It was good, but it would have been better if they put two tortillas on it as the meat soaked through one tortillas pretty quick and if they would have chopped the meat up for taking tacos sized bites. I had to chow a giant slice in one bite. The other food was good too . If you read this review as the owner, manager, or chef take a few seconds to add a tortilla at least. And chop it would make it a 5 star taco. And no need to increase the price for those small changes.

I enjoyed my visit to West End Bar & Kitchen on a Saturday evening. The service was excellent, with a friendly and attentive server who provided delicious recommendations. It wasn't too crowded at 5pm, but it tends to get busier after 6pm. The restaurant offers parking in the back and I suggest making reservations through OpenTable for weekends. The outdoor patio is also lovely. I particularly liked the Greens Salad with grilled salmon, ribeye, and tiramisu dessert.
Our server Robin was fantastic, very patient, not pushy and great at steering you in the right direction on menu choices. Bloody Mary was not too spicy and bottomless Mimosas were a nice offering. The food was delicious and the kitchen got the food out right away. This is a great location with views of the wetlands and plenty of free parking behind the restaurant.

Clam Chowder was excellent. Unique in that it’s served in the shells. Bread to dip into the bottom of the bowl so as not to leave any traces of liquid. Personable attentiveness from staff. Great location.

I was dining alone and rather early - around 5:30. Every staff that passed my table assisted each other to look after me. My waiter led my choices to exactly what I wanted. The view wasn't stellar but I could see a long ways across the marsh, some water, the sunset was quite open view. A train came by in the distance. People walked by on the sidewalk with dogs. The indoors was higher end, linens, glassware, uniform waiters. The choice of appetizer was ample. The waiter suggested the melted goat cheese. It came with toasts and was served inside a ring of hot pesto with toasted garlic. The lamb shank was large, on the bone, the meat easily slipped off the bone with my fork. It was smothered in a roasted carrot / tomato. The mashed potatoes were really good. It was the special of the day and I didn't ask the price - $48! I wouldn't have ordered it... The other items on the menu were more commonly priced. I had a cocktail of gin/champagne/lemon wedge. $12. I only drank half but it was a great change up from a mimosa. The waiter suggested sparkling water and brought a San Peligrino. There was a large table of maybe 8 people near me. They were having a good time but their sounds weren't engulfing the restaurant. Multiple waiters tended to them. Their dishes were ample and looked great as they went by. There were 2 or 3 other tables at the same time as my stay and they all looked like they were enjoying the same experience. There is another restaurant just down the road and as I drove by I could hear the noise of the music and people. It was really busy. Im glad I didn't go there.

We stopped in for happy hour after seeing the restaurant featured on a local TV station. The food was very good and served promptly. We sat at the bar and the bartender, Nathaniel was great, friendly service and helpful suggestions. We shared the duck potstickers, goat cheese with pesto and the burrata, everything was delicious and well prepared. We had wine and the well cocktail from the HH menu. We went back this week with our daughter. We had the burrata, goat cheese appetizer and the flatbread from the HH menu plus a Caesar salad. All delicious and good cocktails from Nathaniel.

Very happy that my husband found this last minute for our anniversary date night. Beautiful aesthetic and absolutely phenomenal food! Got the Tropicale Salad to start. And it was quite a nutritious and hearty salad. Fresh mango and tomatoes and hearts of palm with the rugula and that dressing was unbelievably good! We asked for the dressing on the side and added only a little and it was just perfectly enough. Added some grilled shrimp on top and that flavor was really lovely! Only downside is that there were only four shrimp there and portion size of the hearts of palm and the mango was also quite little. So it was a lot of arugula with very little of the extra toppings. Mussels in Coconut Curry - real good! What a large portion size of the muscles and the sauce was also very smooth and had a nice distinct coconut flavor with a nice herbiness as well. Grilled crusty bread on the side was very soft and perfect on the inside and crusty on the outside. The combination of the muscles with the sauce and the bread was really lovely. Del Mar Crab Ravioli - UNBELIEVABLY GOOD! I have no words to say how good this was! Really large raviolis with a good amount of filling(real proper crab not just some mixture of stuff) + very delicious creamy sauce. Super good! It was only 4 raviolis, but they were large!! That also got us a Figgy Bread Pudding on the house when I happened to mention that it was our anniversary dinner. The bread pudding was SO soft and warm and cozy and just wow! Super yummy and indulgent. Server also recommended a vanilla ice cream on the side and it was just the perfect sidekick. 10/10 recommend this place. Everything was a hit and service was really nice as well!

Interesting menu, good food and great bar. The atmosphere was pleasant. Came back the next night for dessert and found it roaring with happy folks. Every seat taken for a special high-end wine night. The owner said he recognized me from the previous night. I said I just stopped in for a glass of Prosecco and dessert. He created a space for me and asked the chef to make me a special dessert. Old school class.

Located right across from the Los Penasquitos Lagoon this little brunch and lunch spot is on the border of Del Mar and Carmel Valley. I have driven down this street countless times over the years and I’ve seen all the different versions that have been in this place and will say West End is my favorite of those. We usually stop in for breakfast and every time that we do it is consistently good. Inside is also recently remodeled and they did a really great job with the bar area especially. There is a free parking lot attached out back otherwise neighborhood parking is also easy to find. Our server was very polite and everything that we ordered came out very fast. We started off with the Shrimp Ceviche, which is pretty good, although it was a little too watery in my opinion. It almost was like a soup with some ceviche in it. For my breakfast, I chose the Crab Cake Benedict and thought it was fantastic. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the crabcake was full of crab flavor and I just loved it. They were also perfectly crispy and I really enjoyed the meal as a whole. They also have other great options on the menu so I would highly suggest to anyone in or near the area to give it a try.

Trattoria Ponte Vecchio is a charming Italian restaurant located in a quaint neighborhood. The menu features a variety of seafood and pasta dishes, and the restaurant also offers outdoor dining on its patio. Guests have praised the attentive service and the presence of the owner, which adds a personal touch to the dining experience. Despite not having reservations, diners were promptly seated without waiting. The staff demonstrated thoughtfulness by prioritizing smaller orders before larger groups.
We went twice this week. Both times the pasta was excellent, and -thank God!- al dente (some of the best gnocchi I ever had in the US). The dessert was superb too, and the wine was a great value.

Impromptu date night. It’s been a while since we have eaten here and so glad they had outdoor dining. We felt comfortable with the cleanliness of the place and the server & busboy were very mindful of safety guidelines. We enjoyed the food, wine, and service. We’ll definitely go back again.

Service was great. Food was good. My girl had a filet on risotto that was better than my ravioli. The owner was there working the room which is a nice touch. We did not have reservations but got a table for two without waiting. Staff made sure to get our order in before the order of a large group - nice, thoughtful touch.

A true trattoria in the sense that the food is plentiful, with (very) casual service. Flavor was just okay, and the price was high for what I got.

Cute spot near Torrey Pines. Watch the trains go by. Warm patio. Salmon carpaccio was fresh and deliciously salty and citrusy. Spaghetti Pomodoro was delicious, perfectly seasoned. Vegetable ravioli with pesto was amazing. Creme brûlée was pleasantly crunchy on top. Parking may be tough if it’s busy.

Very cute, very Italian little restaurant. Reservations a must if you want to sit inside. The view in the outside seating area is beautiful, unfortunately they only have two space heaters and it can get very chilly. Bring a jacket. Service was incredibly inattentive, there appeared to be only one trained waiter. It took 15 minutes before we could get the bus boy's attention so we could order an appetizer. The appetizer was very good, in retrospect we should have stuck to the appetizer menu for the whole meal. We were finally able to flag down the waiter 30 minutes later to take our order. When the food finally arrived both the veal and the pasta were swimming in a heavy salty cream sauce. Not sure where the cook was from, but it was certainly not any part of Italy I had visited. Perhaps, should we have been able to flag down the waiter to order some wine the meal would have been passable. After about another 45 minutes we were able to flag down the owner to get our bill and a couple of take away cartons for the dog. Great location, poor service, stay away from the cream sauces, bring a jacket, a big bucket of patience and your own bottle of wine.

Center of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the center side of town. Start the day off with Del Mar Fairgrounds, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Sea Grove Park. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

Del Mar Fairgrounds is a popular destination in Del Mar, hosting various events throughout the year, including the San Diego County Fair and the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club horse racing seasons. The fair features a changing theme each year, offering an array of attractions and activities for families to enjoy. Visitors can indulge in carnival rides, unique fair food, and special events during this almost month-long extravaganza. The expansive grounds provide ample space for entertainment, from thrilling rides to diverse food options.
The Del Mar Fair is a three-week long county-wide event. Includes your typical Fair exhibits and exotic food vendors. It is very expensive and the weather can get pretty hot towards the end of June. I was disappointed this year with the exhibits; especially the Flower Hall. There is no cash accepted, so bring your debit, credit or Paypal/Vendor. General parking is $20 and preferred is $55. There are several alternative parking options where you can catch a free shuttle to the fair...a much better option.

We had been attended the fair for 4yrs and it always nice. The displays were real nice as were the animal exihibits. The food was over priced, but always delicious. I recommend to buy everything in advance like parking, entrance admission and ride tickets, you’ll save some money. I got my package at Costco for 4 people, general parking, coupon pamphlet and 40 ride tickets at $99. And get early in the morning so you have more time and less crowds on the rides. ;)

This is my first time at the famous San Diego County fair. It was so much fun exploring it with a group of friends. This is one of the places that you should visit with friends. I am all for solo activities ( I go to movies by myself, etc ), but this is so much more fun with a group. Especially if you have friends that are "in the know". Lucky me. I could never figure out where to find these hidden gems as a first timer. We visited two unique Speakeasies. Each one is charming and with awesome views. Especially the "Destination Unknown" bar. The price for drinks are hefty but it is worth it. The waitress was super sweet and attentive. Top notched! I didn't find any interesting/enticing food to eat but it is all for the best, saving calories. I had onion rings, it was not that great. Corn, it was sweet and a good buy. My friend ordered a sandwich from the Greek restaurant and she gave them a thumb up. The highlight of the day was the photography exhibition. I can easily spent a couple of hours appreciate all the talents. I am actually debating if I should go back again this year just for that. I visited on a weekend so it is not crowded. Easy parking. I was told that weekend is super crowded and "stressful". I am glad that I visited on a week end for my first time. I will make it my yearly event. Love love love!

Same thing evey year. Lots of sights, exhibits and great displays. Hard to appreciate the cool themes and sights when your raging from the HORRIBLE traffic. Also things get lost with the chaos of food vendors. Games and rides will easily cost you a car payment (or two), so load up the card because most dont want cash.

Prices were much higher than usual this year. Almost $20 for gyro sandwich. $20 for turkey leg. $23 for double patty burger. And none of these include drinks. You can get 2 sikh koobideh at Sufi much cheaper! Also not as many people this year - attendees AND vendors. It was so easy to find parking AND leave. These photos were taken throughout the day on a Saturday between open and 6pm. Didn’t feel the same.

Del Mar Racing, also known as the Del Mar Racetrack, is a renowned venue for Thoroughbred horse racing. Located in California, it has been a popular summer tradition since 1937. The track can accommodate nearly 50,000 spectators and offers stadium seating, trackside dining, and suites for an elevated experience. In addition to the thrilling races, visitors can enjoy live concerts featuring major bands on Fridays and family-friendly activities on Sundays.
The Del Mar Racetrack is a beautiful and enjoyable place to visit. The venue offers plenty of seating, including shaded areas that provide excellent views of the track. We chose the Stretch Run Grill seats, which were a fantastic experience. It offers comfortable table seating paired with a dedicated server who made ordering food and drinks effortless. First of I will state outright that I haven't personally been, but as a huge fan of horse racing, I watch a ton of racing around the world from the comfort of my own home. Del Mar was once one of those tracks I would regularly tune into; loved Trevor's calls and the views off the ocean. Sadly that is no longer can access due to the need for RTN (I'm often on the go so mobile is needed); it was just easier to access when it was free to watch. What a treat it was to tune into the Breeder's Cup; the first time I have been able to catch the action from Del Mar in years! If I was to make a suggestion, it would be to make watching the track more accessible; doing so would also gain more eyes on the sport, and potentially, bettors.

I am not a big fan of horse races but joined family members that hadn't had a chance to see it 1st hand. The place is well managed, lots of parking space, food is good and Inexpensive.... the only thing is that ea race lasts less than 2min and takes them 20 to start the next one. For those of us that don't know much about horses, the wait can be challenging. The place needs screens, music and other type of entertainment to keep your attention between races.

Del Mar Dog Beach, also known as North Beach, is a half-mile stretch of shoreline in Del Mar that welcomes both dogs and their owners. Unlike other beaches in the area, dogs are not required to be on a leash here, allowing them to run free and socialize with other pups. The beach is wide enough for dogs to roam without feeling crowded, and it's a popular spot for beach activities like setting up volleyball nets.
We had such a great time at the dog beach! The wide open space was perfect for our pups—they had an absolute blast running around and playing in the sand. My daughter was thrilled with all the beautiful shells she found, and the kids couldn’t get enough of the water. It was the perfect mix of fun and relaxation for the whole family. Next time, we’re planning to check out the fair too—it sounds like the perfect addition to an already amazing day. Can’t wait to come back!

A beautiful beach with plenty of space for dogs to run and play. We drove all the way from Palm Springs expecting a true off-leash dog beach, especially after seeing so many happy dogs in the photos online. The beach itself is stunning, with soft sand and gentle waves perfect for splashing. However, the sign at the entrance clearly states that all dogs must be on a leash, which was a huge disappointment. While most people were following the rules, there were a few owners who let their dogs roam freely, which made it difficult to relax with our own leashed pup. It's a great spot if you're looking for a dog-friendly beach where you can walk your dog on a leash, but if you're hoping for a true off-leash experience, you might want to look elsewhere. It's a shame because with a clear, off-leash section, this could easily be a five-star destination. PS: parking is almost $7 for 1 hour and half. THINK TWICE!

My year and a half puppy loves Del Mar dog beach! From 6am-8am parking is free, and there are a ton of sweet dogs to play with. Dogs must be on-leash during the summer but starting Labor Day, they are allowed off leash. My dog is deathly afraid of the water but the sandy area is huge, so he has plenty of room to run around and walk up and down the beach. Great place to hang out with your dog Really nice beach with Portopotties, doggie bag dispensers, volleyball nets, and lots of area to chill, play ball with your dog, or just walk along the beach. Beautiful dog friendly beach. Parking is pretty expensive ($4/hr) but not all of the parking is pay.

I didn't take a dog but the beach was so nice, not too busy, clean, lots of dogs and owners there, lots of shells. The sand was very nice, the walk to the water is longer than it looks so be prepared for the trip! Over all beautiful!

So rad being able to see the Del Mar Fairgrounds right across the way. Everyone is very friendly. It was my 6 month old maltipoo’s first time at a beach ever and it went swimmingly! A kind couple even gave me a few pointers on our way in. **The pointers were:** -Just BE AWARE of your surroundings. -Especially with bigger dogs, as owners will drop their leash sometimes and the dogs can run up. -Even though it is technically an on-leash beach, they said. -Also, that dogs are allowed on-leash on the next beach over as well and that it can be CALMER as there aren’t as many doggos. ****ALSO ALSO, I DID NOT SEE ANY SHOWERS OR BATHROOMS OR RINSE OFF AREAS HERE!!!***** Hope that helps, it sure did for me! ❤️ safe beaching!

Poop beach, dog owners please pick up after your dogs don’t hide poop bags under the rocks, and some owners watching dog is pooping and just turn their head away. This is disgusting beach

Dogs ON LEASH only during summer. But if you walk far north of the tower, there were dogs off leash, just like us, but we LEASH them as soon as anyone going our way, just to respect other people and their dogs on leash.

Restaurant
Poseidon Restaurant Del Mar is a waterfront dining spot with a beachside patio, offering a menu focused on seafood and an array of beers. The restaurant provides a relaxed beach vibe, making it perfect for a romantic date night or casual dining experience. Guests can enjoy dishes like guacamole with charred corn and cilantro, house ceviche duo with ahi-mango marinated shrimp, chimichurri steak salad with grilled shishito peppers, and pesto Chicken Caesar salad.
Poseidon had the most delicious food and best service of any restaurant we dined at while in the Southern California area. I would highly recommend a sunset dining experience here while in Del Mar. Even though we were seated inside the restaurant, we still had a lovely view of the sunset. An excellent ⭐️ dining experience overall

Absolute best tasting food we had on our California trip. The food is a work of art on plating and taste. We had the crusted Sea bass special that came with scallops and everything MELTED in our mouths while we watched surfing as we were seated outside. Our waiter, Oscar, was not only attentive in service but a very positive, jovial personality. All staff members, including water refillers & bussing staff were courteous and well trained. The beet salad was delicious and so was the key lime Cheesecake. Can’t recommend this place enough !

We enjoyed our dinner at Poseidon. Guadalupe, our waitress, was hands down the best waitress ever! She was attentive, kind, and made us feel welcome. Food was full of flavours and the ingredients were fresh. Highly recommend the clam chowder, the truffle fries, and the hazelnut gelato. And what about the view ! Watching the sunset while eating dinner was the cherry on top🍒

Recommend to start your dinner early to enjoy the amazing sunset in the terrace. Every food that we ordered was delicious but the best one was their signature grilled sea bass, which had crispy skin with juicy and tender fish meat inside. Might be a bit small portions for entree, so don’t forget to enjoy good appetizers.

You’d be hard pressed to find a lovelier view or meal. But that’s not the best part of Poseidon. The people really do make the place here. As a single woman traveling around the world, I’m used to being seated under potted plants by the restrooms. Not here. First, gracious Ava seats me in my own booth facing the ocean! Then my waitress Valerie treats me like a VIP. She brings me extra salad, a plate of lemons for my Sea bass and often asks if there’s anything else I need. It’s not just me. She’s warm, thoughtful and endearing with everyone. Throughout Herman fills water and has a smile as beautiful as the sunset. I can still see it as I write this review.

Little pricey but food quality, service and amazing beach view makes it worth it. Reservation @ 1030AM but we arrive right before opening. We had outside seating. Paid $8 for valet since it’s hard to find parking. Fish and Chips: The fish and chips were great. I wasn’t a fan of panko buttered fishes but Poseidon’s Panko-herb was different; well seasoned and crunchy crust. 5/5 Maine Lobster Tacos - tender and delicious lobster meat perfectly seasoned with cabbage slaw and dressing. 5/5 Crab cake Bennie - flavorful and crispy crab cake with generous crab meat. I was not asking for too much extender/binder but cake wasn’t holding together. It came with perfectly poached egg with a runny yolk, and a rich, creamy hollandaise sauce. Potatoes and asparagus were seasoned well and not overcooked. 4/5 Clam chowder - well seasoned, thick with chewy clams and potato chunks the way we like it. The cheesy biscuit was good too! 5/5 If you’re looking for amazing beach view dining with great food; this is the spot. We’re be coming back to try their other dishes.

I always love coming here for lunch with a friend. Many of the entries can be shared so there is room for a shared appetizer and desert too. I love sitting outside and watching the waves crash...so picturesque. Definitely recommend!

We had a wonderful anniversary dinner here. The server and ambience of the restaurant was excellent. You cannot beat the amazing location of the restaurant. It was a cloudy day, so we couldn't enjoy a golden sunset, but that was also a blessing since we didn't have to deal with the sun beating down on us. We didn't take pictures of our appetizer (tuna tataki), but it was delicious. Our entrees were just okay. Both our dishes were on the salty side and didn't excite our taste buds. The menu that shows up on OpenTable is not up to date at all. We were looking forward to the Land and Sea and the Molten Lava Cake on the OpenTable menu, but they had the much pricier and underwhelming Surf and Turf option instead that threw on a lobster tail, as well as a dense and unexciting flourless chocolate cake instead of the decadent and gooey chocolatey goodness of a molten lava cake that we were dreaming about. The restaurant was lovely enough to surprise us with a rich and tasty creme brulee that we did enjoy. Despite the underwhelming and forgettable food, we don't regret celebrating a milestone here as the atmosphere and company was priceless and we won't forget the experience. We can't say we'll be back any time soon for the food (so many other restaurants that make you say wow bite after bite), but we would consider bringing guests or coming again for the beautiful dining experience.

Sea Grove Park is a stunning oceanside park located in Del Mar, offering visitors the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a picturesque picnic with beach access. The park is perched on cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean, providing breathtaking panoramic views. It features well-maintained walking paths, ample picnic areas, and lush green lawns for a peaceful retreat. With paved sidewalks throughout the park and numerous wooden benches strategically placed to take in the ocean views, it offers both sunny and shady spots for relaxation.
This park is amazing! They do an excellent job with maintenance, from trimming trees, bushes, and grass to adding fresh wood chips and watering the lawns. They also make sure to remove full trash bags and replace them with new ones. I see the staff doing this every Friday morning, keeping everything in top shape.

There are also tons of wooden benches available to sit on, and shady as well as sunny spots. Experience: this park is absolutely beautiful! I have never been here before but wow it was so well taken care of and pretty. This park has such bright green grass, tons of flowers, dogs around, trees, and a beautiful view of the ocean. Will definitely come back!

FLAWLESS park!!!!! Too many good things to list. Plenty of seating. One thing I like is just the sheer proximity to the actual shore!!! Too many grass areas at other beaches like Mission Beach, Solana beach ect aren’t actually near the shore. At Sea Grove you could set up right in the grass and go into the water with only a 30 sec stroll. Restaurants aren’t to far either. The only thing I will say is that parking can be a tad difficult. I think that’s normal at any beach though. You can pay for parking, but it’s overpriced in my opinion. $25 for 1-2 hrs….$45 for 3-4 hrs!!!! Overall awesome spot…perfect to take family or anyone who’s never seen the Pacific. Great way to experience it for the first time!

Pizza restaurant
Del Mar Pizza is a casual pizza place with a surf-themed space that offers both whole pies and pizza by the slice. The thinner crust pizzas are not cracker-like and are considered delicious, making it a great spot to hang out after surfing. While the crust and sauce may lack distinct flavors individually, they come together well with other ingredients. The restaurant's all-day slice options make it convenient for any meal, and the friendly staff adds to the welcoming atmosphere.
Very good pizza and chill vibes. My wife and I ate here on Saturday and the pizza is amazing. I had the Aloha pizza (Hawaiian style ) I ask the staff that I was craving something sweet and but also a little spicy so they added jalapeños to it. The crust is amazing as well. I also recommend using the oil that’s near the condiments. It’s an amazing!! Definitely will be here again next time I am in Del Mar!! Delicious pizza and friendly customer service!! And just a few mins walk from the beach! It’s a perfect place to dine after surfing 👌 👍

Certainly! Here's a more polished and professional version of your message: --- We were in town for the Foodie Land Festival and staying at the Hilton when we placed an order with Del Mar Pizza. Unfortunately, our initial order arrived late and the pizza was cold. However, after contacting the store, my brother spoke with the manager, Fester, who went above and beyond to ensure our concerns were addressed and we left satisfied. Shortly after, the delivery driver, Dean, arrived at our room in under 20 minutes with a fresh order. We truly appreciate the excellent customer service provided by both Fester and Dean. Their prompt and attentive response turned our experience around and delivered the level of service we were hoping for. Thank you!

I loved this chill lil’ pizza place tucked into Del Mar. Keep in mind, the place is always busy but the vibe is chill. My husband and I both got 1 specialty slice (ham, pepperoni, onion and pineapple). It was DELICIOUS! We also got a slice of pepperoni pizza. I liked that I was able to get a CA craft beer that was quite delicious. Services was friendly even though was bananas/ jam packed with people. The location is great for ordering ahead and taking down to the beach.

Cute little pizza joint with sidewalk seating right up the hill from the ocean. The pizza is crispy and delicious. We got a slice for each of us. My husband had pepperoni and sausage and I had veggie. Both excellent. We also had a personal size tossed green salad which we shared. Including tax lunch was $16 and change. By the way, Luke, who took our orders, was so friendly and so helpful. Great service, great food. Highly recommend.

Admittedly this was our first time visiting, and everyone can have an off night, but our experience was really poor. We order two pizzas. A plain cheese and a pepperoni, a spaghetti with meat sauce and a salad to take away. The pizzas were incredibly thin, dry and hard, with no chew whatsoever. If there had been any yeast action in that dough, it had died the week before. With no rise whatsoever in the crust, it felt like we were eating melted cheese on top of a cracker. We have two teenage boys who are pizza fanatics - they ate less than half of a pizza between them. The pasta was basic boiled spaghetti with a sauce poured over the top, not mixed in with the spaghetti, so by the time we got home the pasta was cold and dried out, and the sauce congealed on top. The sauce appeared to be nothing more than a decent bottled marinara with a cooked meatball crushed into it. The salad was fine. The prices were also way, way over the top given what we were served. I get that rents are high in Del Mar, but $30+ for a single standard size pizza, especially like the ones we were served, is outrageous.

What a find! This was a fantastic place to stop for a drink and various small plates of food. Great views of the Del Mar Race Track and shoreline. Our server Cindy was a gem. Her knowledge of the menu and drinks made it easy to select the tastiest food, great beers and cocktails. We had the fresh oysters, the ahi and fish sliders and a salad. All were great, and in particular the sliders. The fried fish had the best and crispiest batter I have tasted since leaving England. Cindy was right there every time we wanted to order and her advice was spot on. Going to add this to one of my favorite spots.

This is a great local restaurant if you’re in the Solana Beach or Del Mar area. There’s plenty of seating with the view. The panoramic view of the ocean all the way to the race track is surprisingly good. The food and drinks were decent and generally on par with the prices. There’s even an outdoor area that’s dog friendly. Unsurprisingly, the biggest issues are that it can get quite busy and parking is limited. The on site lot appears to be valet only and there’s limited adjacent street parking that is not free. I’m busy days, particularly at the track, it could be quite difficult to get in and out of this area. Otherwise, this is a great place and I recommend it.

We celebrated a birthday on Father’s Day and dined al fresco on their spacious back patio area. Brittany and Matt took care of us and made the meal truly memorable. We enjoyed the crab and shrimp dip and crab cake appetizer. The food is scrumptious, prepared with artistry. The mahi was a standout, and even the fried shrimp kid’s entrée was delicious. Generous portions and a festive fun atmosphere. Matt brought out a tasty dessert for the birthday, complimentary, to complete a special meal. The food was even better than on our previous visit several years before. Looking forward to returning.

Beautiful setting for brunch on the patio overlooking the lagoon, beach and race track. Worth the visit despite the food lacking love. Presentation and taste is made for high volume and lacking but the ambience makes up for it. Valet was very busy and took some time for people to get their cars after wrapping up. I have and will continue to return.

The menu features a variety of elevated and modernized Chinese dishes made with fresh ingredients and authentic recipes. The restaurant has received accolades for its Best Chinese, Best Asian Fusion, and Best Vegetarian offerings. Delicious food, wine list & great service. W specific gluten & vegetarian/vegan menus. Will definitely be back.

So Morning Muse definitely isn't a speakeasy, lol. The restaurant itself is a small strip with an Instagram centric vibe. Overall, the food was good. The Asian fusion aspect of it was prominent, but not entirely authentic in its merger. We ordered the Congee bowl with pork belly and pork belly Benedict. Definitely don't think the Congee was meant to be rice pudding-like, but not bad. The drinks pictured were the dragon fruit and blue berry lavender cocktails with a vodka and tequila base. I think trying it once was enough. Just an interesting place to hit and quit.

I have eaten at this restaurant for at least 8 years. Unfortunately something is going wrong with the food quality. This was a favorite of all the family and tangerine chicken is what I get every time. My meal tonight was completely different than the usual dish. The chicken was not crispy or spicy as described in the menu. It was gooey and tasteless. My husband's shrimp dish was equally bad. The scallion bread was good. The seaweed cucumber salad was also good, as expected from the past. I don't think we will return.

Absolutely outstanding. Huge vegan menu, nice and spicy if you ask for it! My friends ordered fish and beef, I ordered an amazing eggplant dish after some perfect dumplings. Everyone said they want to come back soon. Surprisingly sophisticated wine list for a Chinese restaurant. Every detail was impressive.
Joseph B — Google review
Large selection and decent entree size. There is an entire menu for vegetarian and another for vegan. Ambiance is nice unless your next to the kitchen. It gets crowded with very little waiting room at the entrance. Food quality was mixed. The tangerine chicken was good but not spicy at all. I would not recommend the pot stickers, I've had better frozen ones at home. Deserts were excellent though. I could not give 4 stars because the restaurant and dishes were dirty. Glasses, plates and silverware had obvious spots and looked very worn.

I've visited del mar for years and just discovered this unique spot! As we came in we managed to get seated and helped right away, even got seats on the patio with ocean views. One of the first things I noticed was how much variety they had on the menu, definitely options for everyone and we had the most fun ordered lots of dishes and sharing between the whole table. Our server was Mauvie and she was very friendly, funny, and helpful! Overall the whole atmosphere was relaxing but lively and the service was fast. I was so worried about finding a place to take my in-laws for dinner without a reservation but what a nice surprise! Almost as surprising as how low the bill was for such amazing food and good experience.

Wow what a great patio to enjoy the evening and a marvellous San Diego sunset. Service was good but the food was average at best. Pear salad was OK but the pears (the supposed star of the salad) were not fully ripe and lacked flavour. Too bad. The rosemary chicken seemed as if it had been sitting in the kitchen for some time. Not freshly cooked. The cauliflower and potatoes were very good. Beet salad was nice but nothing special. Atmosphere and the sunset were great!

I loved the decor of this restaurant. Super cool! But food and drink were a disappointment. We had the butternut ravioli and the strangest thing was that it had raw butternut squash on top. Who eats it raw? Hard and no flavor. And the pasta was way under done. I also had an old fashioned and there was way too much orange bitters. Only dive bars make them that way- yuck! I was excited to eat here and we had a nice time, but won't be going back.
Lisa L — Google review
This was my first time at the restaurant, and I have to say — the food was good wine even better. They messed our order up and didn’t want to wait for them to fix it because they were so busy.. Everything I tried was flavorful, fresh, and clearly made with care. The wine Also amazing smooth, well-paired and lots of choices. Now, I was waiting a little longer than expected for our server to come back (it was very busy) , I guess we were visibly irritated because my mom started throwing her tantrum complaining while we were waiting & one of the cook’s (patrick) took notice to it came out & asked if he could “help me and my sister with anything” flattering my mom and changing her attitude we had asked him to take our picture before leaving & tried to leave him a tip but he declined and was very charming & polite so i gave him my # instead Still, I can’t lie the service overall was good they were just really busy the place is super cute, it has a warm, cozy vibe that’s perfect for family dinners or going out with friends. It’s nice being at a restaurant that enjoys serving you and bringing smiles to your face not just about the food.

Very cool dining location. Came on a not-busy evening. Service was almost non-existant. Food and drinks were good when they arrived. Got one water refill from passing employee, our waiter never came back. Took forever to cash out. Hostess got our check but couldn't ring us up.

Very nice place with two distinct levels. I would recommend the lower level to get a better view of the restaurant. I imagine with its popularity it might be loud inside but it was perfectly quiet on a Sunday evening. The food servings were massive plates. The Carne asada was not really carne asada but instead a thick slab of meat. It was cooked like medium rare but it was good. The carnitas were not overly seasoned nor greasy but that said they were slightly without seasoning. It was still good though. It seems like a good place to revisit.

There are many great things about this restaurant... but the hostess is not one of them. They are far too immature and in-experienced to address customers in a polite and inviting way. More than once we witnessed very short and snappy responses from not just one but both hostess' working. Later a hostess snapped at as when we has asked if she could find out server. The hostess is the first face a customer sees- and it is essential they are an extension and reflection of the restaurant. Customer service is everything. Food is pretty good. Nobody came to refill our drinks the entire time. Drinks were forgotten. The live music downstairs is great for dancing. Overall, 6/10 experience.

We had our engagement party here with about 40 guests, and it couldn’t have gone any better. Madison was extremely helpful and communicative throughout the planning process, and the staff on the day of the event were accommodating and easy to work with. Our guests raved about how delicious the buffet was and how beautiful the venue looked. We had originally just booked a small room in the back, but they went above and beyond and reserved the entire bar area for us to ensure we had adequate space. They also allowed us to bring in our own decorations, which was an added bonus. We would highly recommend En Fuego to anyone looking to host a party!

I really wanted to like this place but it was really disappointing. First of all. Their hours on Google were not correct, so we had to wait 30 minutes once we got there. We ordered a fajitas and they were bland as ever. The chicken was dark meat chicken that was chewy and rubbery. The fajita veggies were also bland, no flavor and were dripping in grease. They charged an extra $3.75 for a tiny scoop of hot salsa. Like who charges extra for hot salsa?? It wasn’t even good. The service was okay but we definitely won’t be eating there again.

Del Mar Plaza is a high-end, dog-friendly shopping plaza with specialty boutiques, gourmet restaurants & beauty salons. It is typically busy with tourists during the holidays and weekends. The mall has a famous sea lion population, but it can be difficult to find parking or wait for several buses to transfer here.
A lovely spot with a cool vibe—perfect for hanging out with friends, dancing to live music, and enjoying the ocean view.

Moving near iconic spots like Del Mar Plaza truly makes you appreciate a professional team. Best California Movers clearly recognizes the importance of this vibrant city center, and their attention to detail made our move seamless. Fantastic job!

I recently planned and organized a Celebration of Life on one of the outdoor patios of the Del Mar Plaza. I cannot speak more highly of the excellent support I got from the Plaza Property Manager and her staff in the planning and execution of this event. Even the staff who were not directly assigned to this event were helpful - without even asking! Kudos to the Del Mar Plaza Management!!!

Nice place to grab quick curated bites Ocean views. Tried fancy baked goods. Get early before ocean mist softens the croissant goods. Items a little bland. Mango bite was spongy and a little to wet. Blueberry was also wet , Chocolate Roche was rich just ok.. not worth the hype this time.

Super cute place for families during the day and definitely has popular bars and nightlife. The plaza is a great place to sit and watch the sunset.

Place has gotten better in the last couple months as far as congestion and safety. I found out why is that they fired their previous property manager due to all the issues the past couple years. Apparently, she wasn't doing her job, was very unprofessional and even lied about having actual property management experience :/ All of us that live nearby are EXCITED to see where this place goes with new management and new retailers opening soon!

Patio cocktail before lunch at Monarch Ocean Pub. Great atmosphere. Food was very good, although they ran out of pastrami at 1PM on Saturday? Will definitely go back!

Seafood restaurant
American restaurant
Pacifica Del Mar is an award-winning beachfront restaurant located in the upscale Del Mar Plaza. It offers a variety of delectable seafood, steak, pasta, and vegetarian options. The restaurant boasts stunning ocean views and a bar with an extensive selection of over 200 vodkas.
This was our first meal in Del Mar and I was so pleased with our experience. The burrata tomato salad and Mediterranean salad were both great. The salmon was delicious. Service was very good and wine list was reasonably priced and some really interesting offerings (highly domestic wines though). I was very happy with our experience. The only things that I didn’t love was that I made a reservation ahead of time. I called ahead for a patio table and was told that it couldn’t be “guaranteed” but noted. I wasn’t thrilled about that and honestly don’t know why it couldn’t be guaranteed. All this said, and we ended up getting a lovely table and view. Thank you!

The place has good ambiance and a great view of ocean, staff were great, bit I think the food was average. I had salmon which apparently is a menu highlight, the dish design was nice, but the salmon was a bit undercooked inside for my liking. Additionally the dish was too greasy. The green beans were amazing though, fresh and crispy👌

Overall a great location, great views of the pacific, great food. Nice outdoor seating looking out into the ocean. Great area to walk around after your meal. Tuna was amazing.

We came here for dinner and it was sooooo good! I loved the view and the food. My dad came here when I was a baby and now I actually get to see the view and remember it and the food! Yum! The tables were organized except the food on the floor, but that didn't matter cause it was about the food so I would give it a 4.999999999 to the infinite power and rounded it to 5. I also loved the view of the ocean, that's when we had seen the great sun set. Great dessert look too!
David C — Google review
The seafood had a strong seafood smell and flavor that wasn't bad but it was odd. Everything else was very good, brussel sprouts were tasty and plentiful. The mulligatawny soup was my favorite. It was flavorful and delightful.
Louie H — Google review
Came in (~2pm) specifically because my kids wanted street tacos—sign advertised $3 street tacos ($1.50 at happy hour). Ordered drinks then later ordered tacos only to be told “those are only at dinner”. I mildly protested but waitress assured me that the sign specified tacos at dinner only. We ordered off the menu and had a good lunch (amazing gorgeous views!) but felt we were deceived and duped. I don’t like that—feels dishonest.
Troy Z — Google review
We visited Pacifica Del Mar recently for Sunday Brunch. Reservations were easy via Open Table however there is no distinguishing between inside or outside. Unfortunately their entire outdoor view dining area was closed off for some wedding party happening later. We drove literally an hour for this experience and were sat at a table inside, in a corner surrounded by walls. The restaurant and all the linens were stunning I will say. We did wind up electing to sit at one of their small exterior tables immediately adjacent to their main entrance. While we had some sort of view, that experience was rather undignified as hordes of passers by traipse along through the plaza breezeway, inches from our table. Despite these disappointments, the food was excellent! I ordered the Corned Beef Hash which was rather unorthodox but delicious. The menu did call out poached eggs and I received over-easy sadly. The waiter did comp my drinks which was nice but was hoping for poached. My wife’s poached eggs perched atop her Benedict were perfectly cooked with creamy yolks and properly set whites. I look forward to visiting again soon for dinner. I might call ahead first to make sure I can get a decent table.

Sunset Seat

4.8
(815)
Hiking area
Scenic spot
Sunset Seat in Del Mar, SoCal, is a popular spot to watch the sunset. It features a decorative bench carved out of an old Torrey Pine atop a beautiful cliff overlooking the ocean. The sculpture of a red-tailed hawk adds to its artistic appeal. While waiting in line for a picture, visitors can enjoy the nice view of the coast and take photos for various occasions. It's recommended to bring beach chairs and wear sneakers as parking can be challenging but paid street parking is available.
The Sunset Seat is a great place along the Camino del Mar at the pacific coast of California. This day in End of September was slightly rainy, foggy and misty, but even then a lot of people enjoyed the beautiful beaches for walking, jogging or surfing. You can reach this place in less than 30min from San Diego downtown.

Fantastic view of the ocean, and not busy at all. This place is great for photos and there are some nice little trails that run through the area.
Everett T — Google review
I’m me of my favorite spaces in the area to sit and contemplate while taking in the views. Been coming here solo, with my daughter for bonding and as a family for years. Simple and perfect.
Michelle S — Google review
Enjoy an unobstructed high view of the sunset. Parking was $7 on the street for just over 2 hours. Bring a small blanket if you want to sit a while. There is a bench a bit back from the edge. Just be careful at the edge like you would on any other cliff and you're golden!
Melissa M — Google review
Great place, not much of crowd. So you can enjoy the sea. There are few seating spaces also. Highly recommend it!
Krishna K — Google review
The view was good for the sunset. The statue is quite large as well. The temperature drops quite rapidly as the sun goes down, but there were still quite a few people and even some dogs. Looking south you can see the cliffs of Torrey Pines Reserve.

Dessert shop
An's Hatmakers is a charming eatery located at the street level of the Del Mar Plaza. The interior exudes a cozy and inviting atmosphere with warm wooden tones, creating a retro yet modern aesthetic. The shop is hat-themed, offering a unique and delightful ambiance. Customers can enjoy gelato with the option to mix two flavors in one cup and sample before purchasing. Although some found the gelato too sweet and soft for their liking, others appreciated the gluten-free options available.
About as unique as top quality ice cream can get without being overdone. And you pay extra for the privilege. Very generous sampling tour and friendly folk who serve it. They clearly emphasize a proper customer service experience. Popular for good reason and definitely worth a visit!
Matthew G — Google review
Queue can be a little long just after lunch or dinner time. They chat with each group of customers and will let you try all the flavors you want before ordering. The flavors are always changing so it’s interesting every visit. Worth the wait as the ice-cream is really good with lots of chunky ingredients. Definitely worth a visit.
Teck B — Google review
Definitely one of the best ice cream shops I’ve ever been to. The Visor pistachio ice cream was phenomenal and I’d happily eat a pint’s worth in a sitting. The tres leches one was also awesome, but the pistachio one blew me away. Excellent flavor profile and generous use of actual pistachio chunks. Worth a visit if you’re even remotely in the area. Adorable indoor and outdoor seating areas as well
Aneesha P — Google review
America’s No.1 Gelato Shop with Unbeatable Flavor and Texture Food: The aroma is rich, and the texture is delightfully chewy. Even with a small size, you can choose two flavors. The pistachio flavor was especially outstanding. Service: The staff are quick and friendly. They also provide detailed explanations about the flavors. When I visited on the afternoon of July 1st, the staff member on the left side from the customer’s point of view was particularly kind and attentive. I’d like to compliment them. Ambiance: The shop is cozy, and the interior decorated with hats left a strong impression. There is limited seating available both inside and outside.
Wookjin P — Google review
An’s Hatmakers Ice Cream in Del Mar matches its reputation. The flavors taste so fresh. The shop has a cool, welcoming vibe and the staff are always so friendly and patient. Whether it's your first time going or your 10th time, do the flavor tour. They let you sample every flavor on the menu. It’s the kind of spot that makes you want to come back again and again.
Clay W — Google review
It's a very small shop with limited seating inside. Be aware they only have 7 flavors available. The nice thing is they let you taste all of them before choosing your favorites to buy. Wish they have a few more than 7 flavors to choose from. Gelato flavors are unique and not something you get elsewhere. They are delicious. It's in a little plaze across the street from the beach. If you go upstairs, you can pretty much eat the ice-cream while enjoying the beach view. Come during non-peak hours to avoid waiting in a long line.
Katrina — Google review
Great hat shop with lots of great hats come here if you want a custom made hat o ya you can grab some delicious gelato also while you wait great service parking not so good but a little walk doesn't hurt. Especially in your cool new hat

Mediterranean restaurant
Del Mar Seaside Grill is a lively establishment that offers Persian and Greek cuisine, accompanied by live music and belly dancers. Despite its Mediterranean and Mexican menu fusion, the restaurant does not disappoint. As a family-owned and operated business, it provides excellent service with both the daughter and mother actively assisting customers. The chicken pita and fries are cooked to perfection, while the shrimp tacos with rice and beans are equally delicious. The salsa is fresh, spicy, and flavorful.
We drove down from Temecula for a beach day and stopped here to eat. The food is amazing and the servings are huge. The service was wonderful. My wife, son and I had a great experience. Highly recommend.

Alborz used to be at Del Mar Heights Rd , I am not sure when they moved to their current location at Camino Del Mar. The new place is in a great location and has great food and great service. The interior decoration is nice as well. The menu has something for everyone. Presentation of the food is great. I ordered Chicken Shish Kabob , others ordered soltany and Beef Shish Kabob. We also had Yogurt with cucumber, maust mosir and shirazi salad.

Weeknight dinner review - The place itself and the environment is great. It was mostly empty with some outside tables occupied. Food itself is decent. The appetizers were great. We had Tahdig with Ghormeh and some kind of lentil stew, which was fantastic. The olive and cheese plate was pretty good as well. However my entree Sea Bass was very bland and had no flavor to it. It was pretty disappointing. Others had Salmon which they said was good. Service was decent.

If you’re looking for some of the best authentic Persian food in San Diego, then Seaside Grill is the place to go. Its location and interior is beautiful, and the food is amazing. I highly recommend the Koobideh Kebab plate, which comes with your choice of two sides. They also serve you a completely bread and olive dish which pairs amazingly. Seaside grill is a staple in my restaurant rotation, will always be going here.

Del Mar, you are so lucky to have this outstanding restaurant. Hubby had the lamb shank, I had eggplant stew, and we shared ceviche appetizer. Everything was like homemade and with the best ingredients. All the best to everyone who made our night special. We will be back!

You can enjoy a very nice ocean view, eat indoors or on the outdoor patio near the street but all are nice seats. We shared a delicious shish kabob plate w chicken & salmon, along w rice & salad. A generous plate of hummus & delicious olives. I also ordered a lamb gyro with tasty pita bread. Everything was tasty & well served w excellent service.
Jose C — Google review
Atmosphere and ambience are both good. Appetizers acceptable. Drinks and deserts okay. When it comes to main courses specially Kebobs, there is a great debate. Quality not as expected. Meat not as tender as it should and taste was off. In general not a professional kebob at all.
Ramin K — Google review
Recently, I had dinner at Alborz Seaside Grill. The ambiance and food were both good, though a bit pricey, the average cost per person is around $35. However, I was disappointed to find that they charge an additional 3.5% fee for credit card payments. What I found most uncomfortable was the way the bill was handled: the server brought the card machine to the table and stood over me while I entered the tip. I found that unprofessional. A better approach would be to process the payment and leave the check on the table, allowing guests to add the tip privately.

Restaurant
Monarch Ocean Pub offers a variety of dining options, including burgers, salads, soups, and sharing plates. Situated with a prime view of the Pacific Ocean, this open-air restaurant provides an upscale yet casual beachy atmosphere for patrons to enjoy. The spacious layout includes indoor and outdoor seating with sweeping ocean views. Guests can indulge in delicious food such as the spicy chicken sandwich or Applewood bacon hamburger while savoring the scenic backdrop.
Overall an amazing dining experience. We were told to wait for a window table would be about 45 minutes so we put our name down and waited on the outside viewing area where they also serve food and drinks. We ordered 2 cocktails and found a table with a beautiful view of the ocean and street below. The cocktails were not the best especially considering the price but the service was quick. Once our table was ready, we were seated at a table by the window. Becky was our server and she was just absolutely lovely! We ordered a steak along with the fish and chips. Fish and chips were good, excellent aioli and tartar sauces. We ordered a medium steak and they didn’t bring it out till it was cooked perfectly. The appetizers tasted good and their dessert is a good finisher for the meal. The caviar to this place is to show up around sunset to hear the poem of the day, we were poem #921 and it actually made me go into deep thought… the crew and the vibe of this place is exactly what Del Mar is about. Would highly recommend this place
Peter P — Google review
Food and atmosphere was fantastic! Views of the ocean were amazing on the deck. Fish and chips were great but the flatbread was the star. Bacon cheeseburger was good and juicy. Drinks were yummy, especially the pistachio espresso martini. Typical pricing for the area. Service was nice but very slow, just a heads up.
MEGHAN C — Google review
I rarely give five stars but the credit is due when it is due. In our five days in San Diego it was the best dining experience. We were there before 6 pm and ordered almost everything on the happy hour menu and everything was delicious. We even went for seconds. However, what was the most touching was the live music by the chill Hawaiian guy playing chill music. Together with the ocean views and breeze, it left little to desire for more…
Elena G — Google review
Fantastic ceviche, probably the best I've ever had. Big fat tasty chunks of super fresh halibut and shrimp with the usual avocado, cucumber, and pickled red onions, plus thin red jalapeno slices. The wings are very plump and tasty with a nice crunch. Great beer selection, excellent service, and a nice view to the ocean.

My friend and I, visited monarch we planned to have dinner but opted for oysters and cocktails at the end. Our server was attentive and I did send a drink back and he replaced it immediately. We had the best time and I wish I would of tried the food since it all sounded delicious but I will have to go back next time for that, as we decided to explore the rest of the spots in the plaza. I would recommend this place for the views, the cocktails and oysters.

One of my favorite places to chill with the most spectacular view of the ocean. Grab a drink, dine and have a blast with friends and family. I love the open area. The veg pizza was super fresh and one of the best I have had!

We chose this place to celebrate my wife’s birthday. What a GREAT decision. The atmosphere here is electric especially at sunset! The food is amazing. Thanks to our server we had just the best experience! Can’t wait to come back. Update: I was fortunate enough to take my wife and mother-in-law here to celebrate Mothers Days 2025! It was just as amazing as I remember it. Our server Clyde made the experience even better!

I loved this restaurant! The food was absolutely amazing! They had lots of choices as well for the cocktails. We went on mother's day so it was crowded and we had to wait about 30 minutes, but usually it isn't. But in conclusion this place is great! There's also an AMAZING view of the ocean.

Italian restaurant
While Aqua Mare Cucina Italiana may have been visited on a whim after a nearby hike, it turned out to be a delightful surprise. The beef carpaccio was outstanding and the pesto had an incredibly fresh and rich flavor that rivaled homemade versions. The cocktails were expertly mixed and offered a stunning view of the wetlands, complete with playful egrets and ducks. The service was attentive and welcoming, making for a highly recommended dining experience.
One of my favorite Italian restaurants in Del Mar! So nice the staff and restaurant make you feel like home. The food is always great. Big portions and everything is so delicious.

We went on a rainy night midweek and chose to sit on the outdoor closed patio. Unfortunately, there were several large groups that were very noisy and there was a leak by our table so I got wet. We really like their food so we’ll be back and saw that they have an interesting happy hour.

I love this restaurant! The Italian food, the cocktails, and the outdoor patio make it an extraordinary experience for us. We've now been here four or five times and it seems to better over time. The service is spectacular and the quality of food is always on point. I'd highly recommend sitting on the patio and enjoying a beautiful sunset.

hate to leave a bad review but truly a disappointment. the linguine clam pasta presentation is sub par and top of that have no flavor :( the margarita pizza taste like very low quality not gourmet. the risotto was under cook the grain was still hard! i can’t believe you serve this type of food to your customer! you should be ashamed!

Gracious hosting, thoughtful menu, exceptional flavors! Katya was our server and we asked for the experience and we got it! Katya gave us the best of Aqua Mare. From the carpaccio to the branzino (wow!) to the lasagna bolognese the entire dining and drink experience was a wonderful journey. Excellent wine pairings and cocktails with a sunset view on the Pacific. Dine on the patio and have desert in the vicolo for the perfectly cozy experience. I can’t wait to come back.

We celebrated our 34th wedding anniversary at Aqua Mara, and it was truly an unforgettable evening. From the moment we walked in, Laura—the incredible owner—made us feel so special and welcomed. You can tell how much love and care she pours into every detail of this beautiful restaurant. The food was beyond amazing—each bite felt like a celebration in itself. Brian, our server, went above and beyond to make the night perfect—his warmth and attention made us feel genuinely cared for. And Brandon and Marco at the bar are absolute stars! Their cocktails were outstanding, and their friendly energy added so much joy to our night. Thank you, Laura and the entire Aqua Mara team, for helping make such an important milestone in our lives so memorable. We’ll cherish that evening forever and can’t wait to come back! ❤️ Pro tip: Call Laura and make a reservation—and always ask for Brian! ❤️
