Theme park
Water & Amusement Parks
LEGOLAND California Resort is a vibrant destination in Carlsbad, California, just north of San Diego. The resort features a lively hotel with LEGO-themed quarters and amenities like dining, an outdoor pool, and complimentary breakfast. The hands-on theme park offers over 60 themed rides and interactive attractions for kids aged two to twelve. Additionally, the SEA LIFE Aquarium and LEGOLAND Water Park provide entertainment for the entire family.
The rides were really fun! the food was delicious we ate at the pizza and pasta place and took advantage of the buffet the staff at Legoland are incredible. Kind thoughtful. At one point my son wanted to be in front of a roller coaster but the placement didn't provide for it. The next time he came to the lady we hadn't even seen before I said I heard you wanted to be in the front let's make that happen! Everyone is very chatty and kind and helpful we had a great day!

We had such a great time at LEGOLAND! There are so many fun things to see and do — way more than I expected. The creativity behind all the LEGO designs and attractions is amazing, and the staff was super friendly and helpful. The aquarium is definitely worth visiting — it was one of my favorite parts of the day! There’s a great variety of animals and it’s really well done. However, the park really needs better maintenance. A lot of things were dusty, faded, or missing pieces, some water features weren’t working, and a few attractions were closed. It’s still a fun experience, but I’d love to come back when everything’s fully restored and running at 100%!

We had such a great time. I feel its better than the zoo and maybe even Sea World. We'll at least for a 4 year old. The employees are really kind young kids, which gives me hope for the future. A young man named Juan even rode with my daughter, because we waited in line and it was just me and a 6 month old, so I wasn't able to go. He really made my daughter's day. That was so kind. The pizza, pasta and salad buffet was great. Had nice outdoor seating too. The Trick-or-Treating even was awesome. They gave out huge bags of candy that I saw all parents eating 😀. There are a ton of really neat parks with big slides and all sorts of fun stuff for them to climb on. A great way for parents to get a little rest in. We will definitely be back!!

First time Vacation at Legoland! We had our 8, 7 and 3 year old and my in laws with their 3 year old. I would say that this theme park is definitely for under 10 unless your kids love more action/activities then it might not be for them. Let me say this...Lego masterpieces everywhere!!!!! Amazing how all was put together to show a little of everything. We started our Sunday with Sealife and then headed to the Brick or Treat event. Kids were dressed up and they were given small bags for candies. Now the candy stations (less than 10 stations) were in certain areas and at times a little confusing with everything that was going on. I feel like it would be nice and easier if candies were to be handed out in front of the rides but thats just me. There was no waiting times during our Sunday night. They were able to get into a few rides as well as enjoying the lego art. Monday visit was a bit more busy and humid. We waited almost 20-30 minutes for the roller coaster and the duplo train ride. Other rides were less than 10 minutes. Most rides that include parents with young children have a weight limit of 330 pounds for the seat. Luckily we were able to take turns and enjoy some rides with our boys. Like i had said previously the rides are definitely for younger kids and they only last maybe less than 2 minutes and have little to no motion. My two older boys enjoyed the roller coaster and the ride that goes up and down(its in my pictures). We did a few family group rides like the big boat ride that takes you along the lake, the duplo train, and the submarine ride. We also bought the 2 day cup and the popcorn bucket but unlike other theme parks, the freestyle machines were not everywhere so it was pointless and the popcorn bucket was only refillable at that kiosk from what we saw because we asked around a few places and those places had no popcorn. The one thing that I don't know how to take it as is at this lego car exhibit my brother in law took my boys to see the car and apparently as soon as they went in the male employee there told him- that there was nothing exciting to see and dont waste your time there and instead go on the rides- so whatever his intentions were we'll never know but my son loves hot wheels so he was interested in looking at that car. So now that I pointed out my experiences I want to say that we had fun, and a few meh moments and for us it was a one time thing. Staff was friendly in the park and hotel.

Title: Not Worth the Price — Disappointing Stay for $700 a Night I booked a fully themed “Friends” room at Legoland Hotel California to celebrate my grandchild’s birthday one November 1, 2025 for one Night. Honestly, for the $700 I paid for one night, it was not worth it. I hope this review helps anyone deciding whether to book here. The room was very small and felt extremely crowded. We were given one king bed, plus a bunk bed and a pull-out bed, which sounds great but left almost no space to move around. The furniture looked old-fashioned and worn out — some pieces were chipped, the wallpaper was scratched, and parts were even peeling off. Around 4 a.m., I tried turning on the TV, but it wasn’t working. The screen said to call the cable operator, so I contacted the front desk. They told me I had to wait until 7 a.m. for someone to come in and call the company. The room was generally clean, but it was clear that cleaning was only done on the surface — not in detail. I have asthma, and I could feel dust irritation right away. Also, please note: the photos you see online when booking are not what the rooms actually look like. The hotel’s biggest advantage is that it’s right next to the park, which is convenient, but honestly, you’re better off staying at one of the nearby hotels that offer more space and comfort — especially if you’re traveling with kids.
Aide S — Google review
Took my son here for his birthday! He had a blast! The detail work is beautiful to look at! It can be on the expensive side and I wish they had more options such as all day dining for food. Would recommend to take your child here at least once in a lifetime!

LEGOLAND California is such a fun and amazing place for families! The park is clean, well organized, and full of creative attractions. The kids loved the rides, the LEGO builds, and the water park. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was good too. A perfect place to spend the whole day and make great memories!

Pour House is a vibrant and spacious venue located just south of The Seabird, celebrated for its comforting bar food and extensive drink selection. This informal spot not only serves up delicious comfort dishes but also plays a pivotal role in the local music scene. With live performances featuring everything from honky tonk to R&B, Pour House attracts both renowned artists and emerging talents from Oceanside. The atmosphere is reminiscent of a welcoming neighborhood dive bar where patrons often know the bartenders by name.
I normally don't leave reviews but I just had too for this place from the moment I walked in I was treated like family the staff was super friendly the service was fast and excellent the music was just pretty damn good for a first impression I gotta say they did a great damn job me and my girl will definitely be back. P.S. the Mexican Candy shots were freaking amazing 😋

I love this place for amazing music . Friday nights never fail me for great music selection 5-8 pm are favorite nights! Blues, jazz, rock.. delightful . I come here at least few times a month. Sometimes the music level is too loud for the space if they can adjust that the music will be definitely 5+ star. Food and drinks are relatively ok, prices are great, sometimes service is slow and some servers don’t smile.
Emel G — Google review
Great place for amazing live music in Oceanside! Some local, some world-class acts. Love having such a great music venue close to home (used to drive to LA or downtown SD to see some of the same bands). Disappointed in the new menu. Missing the amazing tater tots and some other menu classics...new items are tasty, but smaller potions and $$.
Gayle K — Google review
Still has the atmosphere it's had for decades: fun, and very local hang out. An upgraded sound system, and sound personnel with some nice lighting make it more of a "real" venue. What made our night was the hospitality of the bar tender. She was quick and very nice. All the personnel smiled. Security (obviously part of that team wearing a shirt with that printed on it in large letters) answered a question as we were parking to ensure us that parking after a business closed nearby was ok. The parking lot to the north has been transformed into a seating area. Parking is challenging, but seemed adequate for the amount of people inside.

Went last night for the first time. We had dinner at the Sushi place up the street so didn't eat at the Pour House. There was a cash cover charge that I did not expect so bring cash if you go. This place is spacious with a nice performing stage. The bands were really good and they have an outdoor patio with heaters if you get cold. I really enjoyed this place and will definitely go back.

8/30/25: Still a great place to see live music and I love they have early shows! Nice combo of draft beers too. Great place to see live music! Decent selection of draft beer at reasonable prices. Can't comment on the food.

The Pour House in South Oceanside is a lively bar and restaurant with live music and a pool table. This joint has a full bar along with beers including some stellar craft brews on tap. I’d describe both the appearance of the Pour House and the crowd as bohemian. That is a definite compliment. There’s no trace of pretentiousness here. A small but diverse menu of quality dishes awaits you here. The pork sliders I had were a serious step above the norm. Quality all the way with their House Bacon Burger too. Next time I’m going for the Ahi Tacos-they sounded real interesting. On the Friday I was there, live music started at 5:30. They players were great and the volume was perfect. Blues and an eclectic mix was what was played. For the band later, a small cover charge kicked in. Service was friendly as were the other customers. The pool table saw action continuously. They have a moderately sized parking lot with plenty of street parking available too. Ride sharing services were heavily used by people coming and going. Glad I spent a few hours here. I’d do it again without a second thought.

Came here on a Thursday night for dinner with the hubby. Went inside to grab a menu since there was no one outside. A girl showed up seconds laters and took our order. I had the BLT with truffle fries ( 100% would recommend ) for an additional $2.00. Well worth it. Hubby ordered a burger and agreed he should've ordered the truffle fries. Service was really awesome and we didn't wait long for our dinner. We sat outside were they have strings of lights and heaters which made for a super cozy atmosphere =)

Donut shop
Coffee shop
Parlor Doughnuts in Oceanside offers small-batch, fancy donuts with explosive flavors. The queue for these treats can get long, but the wait is worth it. From classic chocolate to unique combinations like blueberry basil and maple bacon, they have a wide variety of options. Despite concerns about health, these donuts are meant to be a special treat. They are described as flaky on the outside and fluffy on the inside, resembling croissants.
The line moved really fast. Friendly service with a nice smile. They have about 2 dozen flavors. All looked amazing. I went with one of their best seller. Salted caramel. The texture is chewy n not oily at all. The flavor is delicious!!! Turtle cheesecake was really good. The dough is similar to the salty caramel. A little chewy which I really like. The cheesecake frosting was just perfect! Creamy n not too sweet. I definitely will recommend this place to all my friends.

CHILL LITTLE SHOP w/ mid-tier donut options. I stopped by per my Mom's recommendation as we heard good things about Parlor. It's a pretty big donut organization now across the US, so we decided to try it. I wasn't a major fan of the bread ratio inside my "Sandy Beach" donut. My mom and some other reviews said they're going for a cronut style of pastry. However, this wasn't flaky nor tasted like a cronut. It just felt like an excessive amount of bread without flavor, aside from the top and outer bread layer. The flavor wasn't bad on the outside (it was actually pretty good), however the inside was very underwhelming. Its a shame as the outside of the "donut" tasted like a mix of apple pie and cinnamon roll. I'll give the shop credit for their tasty coffee, I loved my layered cold brew! Service was also hit or miss, a young couple in front of me was treated poorly. I didn't like that. I was treated pretty well, but I hate to see other people my age get mistreated. Only one younger guy (an employee) who was working double time had a nice attitude. My Dad and I were disappointed as the autumn specialty items were not available. This was not a inventory issue, they just didn't have anything ready. I wasn't a fan of the decor, it just was too over the top in some places. I did enjoy the lighting and retro feel, but it felt like this location was trying too hard with the excessive decorations in the background. The bathroom was gross and unkempt. Overall, there's lots of improvements needed at this location, however I believe in second chances so I want to try their other items, maybe I'll be surprised?
Lorenzo W — Google review
The doughnuts here are really good! I saw a lot of people walking at the Oside Beach with boxes of these and I went it to get one and a cup of coffee. The service was great, servers are super friendly. The ambience is chill and welcoming. The doughnuts looked tasty and they have mini doughnuts too plus the prices are reasonable. I got the maple bacon and it was delicious paired with their latte. I also came back to but the mini doughnuts and my friends enjoyed every flavor.
Belle — Google review
If you want a delicious homemade donut this is the place to go in Oceanside! Only reason it’s not 5 stars is that they were so busy the three flavors I wanted were sold out and fresh ones not made yet. I had to pick a fourth option on my donut choice. Not completely their fault that their donuts are so good they fly off the shelf! Then there is only outside first come first serve limited seating outside.
Ashley T — Google review
This is hands down the best and most authentic donut place! Every donut tastes amazing, soft, and full of flavor. Every time we’re in town, we have to stop by and grab some because they’re just that good. It’s definitely a must-visit spot for anyone who loves donuts!
Liliya G — Google review
Beyond Disappointing. Please note this review is specifically for the Vegan & Gluten Free Donuts. I’ll gladly update this review if there are updated/changes to these options. For a place that takes pride (clearly visible in their regular donuts), why the hell would you put vegan & gluten free in the same donut without providing regular vegan options too? To top it off, all the donuts are $4.25 EACH for the tiniest bite size donut. It doesn’t matter what kind of toppings, frosting, glaze etcetera that you put on it, a gluten free item is tasteless (or I should say tastes the exact same with a worse after taste than any regular dairy made donut). Also for those that are unaware, most gluten free items are dry too. It doesn’t say on the menu nor did the very sweet & kind hostess that helped us tell me about them until after I asked her what those little tiny things the Pastry Chef was making in the back. She said those are your donuts & proceeded to tell me they were baked not fried & that they were both vegan & gluten free. I was ordering these donuts thinking that they had the option of EITHER vegan OR gluten free options. Very disappointing considering I researched this space & was told by local friends that it’s a must. The regular donuts look absolutely gorgeous & taste (I had to stay neutral about the overall venue & took a bite of my Girlfriends donut) pretty damn good. Do better on the Vegan & Gluten Free donuts. Keep up the high integrity & high quality product that you showcase in the glass cases up front. I’ll look forward to coming back in the future. Hopefully there will be some better options (I’m back in town in November). Thank you Team Parlor Doughnuts for the overall hospitality.
Aaron F — Google review
Visiting parlor doughnuts is a must if you’re in Oceanside! The flavors are absolutely delicious and unique—each one bursts with creativity and freshness. What really sets them apart is their unique dough—similar to a croissant and perfectly soft, fluffy, moist, and has a nice chew. The coconut cream filled one was flavorful without being overly sweet. The peanut butter cup had a good balance of peanut butter and chocolate, not too overpowering. The maple pecan was on the sweeter side but absolutely delicious! Can’t wait to try more!
Stephanie D — Google review
We couldn’t get enough Parlor Doughnuts during our one week stay in Oceanside. We wanted to try them all but there are too many flavors. We loved the apple pie one and coconut cream filled. What a unique take on the over populated standard doughnut market. I think that’s why they’re so popular. Don’t plan on eating there, they don’t have seating. Walk down to Pannikin to get a coffee with your sweets.

Colima's Mexican Restaurant is a casual eatery that offers traditional Mexican dishes like tacos and burritos. Located in Oceanside, it provides a relaxed atmosphere with outdoor seating available. The food is fresh, fast, and delicious, making it an ideal choice for those looking for a quick bite after activities like skateboarding or surfing. The menu boasts a wide variety of options, including tasty carne asada burritos. Customers rave about the friendly staff and the efficient service provided by Colima's.
Huge burritos, feels like 5lbs when you try and pick it up. It's around $16 for the California Burrito which is a great value (as of April 2025) for the absolute beast of a burrito. Can honestly barely finish one. Be sure to take it with you and a short walk to the pier for the ultimate socal atmosphere.

Hole in the wall with a huge menu. The food was fresh, full of flavor and abundant. Big portion is an understatement. We’re in from New York and looked forward to trying some fresh Mexican out here. Looking forward to the next joint.

I haven't been here in 21 years. I'm glad they're still around and making amazing food. If you go in a Tuesday, avoid parking in front because the city starts towing cars at 2PM for what appears to be a farmers market. I liked the old location better, but this newer location is pretty nice. The quality of the food is as good as I remember. For me it's about nostalgia as well as a place to get some good food.

I used Uber Eats to order a taco salad on 8/20/25. The food was not as described on the menu - no beans and there was only a small amount of cheese, while the chicken was bland and seemed like it had been sitting around for a while. MOST of what I got (like 70%) was sad odd tasting shredded lettuce. I pulled out as much of the lettuce as I could, about half, and set it aside. I tried to eat the rest but it was unpleasant. It did not taste good enough to actually eat. I ordered from Wendy's because I was still hungry. The food I had at Colima's was an inedible rip off, and Uber Eats does not refund for bad quality food - they say take it up with the restaurant. Perhaps I should call the restaurant, but I'm weary of the whole thing, so that was $20 down the drain. Rest assured I will not order from them again, and I'm sorry I invested in gift cards for Uber Eats. I won't do that again.

Panca Peruvian Cuisine & Rotisserie is a cozy eatery located in a strip mall, offering a modern space to enjoy traditional Peruvian dishes. The restaurant is known for its generous portions and reasonable prices, making it an ideal spot for lunch or dinner. Customers rave about the wonderful soups that are reminiscent of Thai red curry but with a strictly Peruvian twist, as well as the quarter chicken lunch special offered at an affordable price.
Charming spot for lunch or dinner. I love the wonderful soups here which are a complete meal, that remind me s little of Thai red curry but are strictly Peruvian in nature, wonderful broth, fish ( red snapper) or a generous serving of shrimp, with both rice and potatoes. Nice house wines at very reasonable prices by the glass. Service is friendly and prices are very reasonable. There is a quarter chicken lunch special offered for $7.50. Don’t forget to visit the sister store next door for amazing desserts, empanadas and tortas (similar to quiche but very thick) a common South American dish. This is cooking at it’s best. Don’t miss this restaurant, try something you have never eaten before, you will not be disappointed. Family owned.

At first I wasn't impressed with the entrance. Since I don't judge and Google suggested this place based on my other visits to Peruvian restaurants I gave it a try. The food has no flavor at all the presentation is without imagination. I ate the Aji de Gallina: Creamy spicy sauce with Parmesan, Peruvian yellow pepper, and pecans served over a bed of potato and a side of Peruvian white rice. It's not good I was very sick for two days after eating this dish. For $15.95 it's not worth it. Also you don't serve potato and rice at the same time. "Creamy chicken" had more potato and hardly any chicken. Husband ordered Papa Rellena: Two soft potatoes stuffed with tender beef, cooked in Peruvian spices, white onion, garlic, raisins, and, and a slice of hard-boiled egg, served with a side of Peruvian white rice and Salsa Criolla. For $13.95 to eat deep fried potatoes with maybe 1g of meat stuffed inside is not worth it. Husband ordered salad in lieu of rice. At least he enjoyed that. Food not served as described in the menu ... once served, the portion was certainly underwhelming. The beer, although expensive at $8.00, was the only other part of the experience we did enjoy. I noticed one of cooks inside the kitchen had a full black beard without a net; one of the waitresses who brought the food had a very dirty apron. As a courtesy we went there maybe 2 days later to talk to the manager to let them know I got sick so that they can make needed improvements to keep others from getting sick as well. However the response was that s/he was too busy to talk to us. A person who knows what authentic Peruvian food tastes like, I've eating in several in e.g. NYC, will not eat there again. For me, as soon as a restaurant's dish makes me sick, I will never go back!

This place is bomb! Portions are generous and fairly priced. My personal favorites were the ceviche and the chicharron sandwich. We got the rotisserie chicken as well, which my friends really enjoyed, but I personally thought it wasn't as great as I hoped for. Perhaps I just prefer my chicken fried. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Flavors are all vibrant and unique and I would come again.

The service and food were good. The appetizer was the best part of the meal. The lamb entree was flavorful, especially the beans. The chicken entree was very creamy and heavy, but was well spiced. The rice with the entrees was also very rich.

If you like Peruvian food then you just have to give Panca Peruvian Cuisine a try! The Ceviche is a must try! One of the best Ceviche's I've tried! Definitely one of my favorite dishes on the menu. We'll definitely be back to try the rest of the menu. Lol..😁 Update - We definitely returned for another visit to have some more of the awesome ceviche and decided to try the rotisserie chicken dish and the Aji e gallina. Everything was so tasty & on point!! If your ever in the area then give them a try!! You won't be disappointed!

Been to Peru and the food definitely has a Peruvian flair. It's a small cozy environment and the choices were well thought-out. Chiccharon sandwich was fantastic on the chiobata bread and their chicken was tender and flavorful. Ended the meal with the creme brulee and I'm definitely coming back.

Just had one of the best steak dinners ever at this place! The food was incredible, the steak was cooked perfectly, super juicy and full of flavor. Sides were on point too. The staff was awesome, super friendly, chill, and really made us feel welcome without being over the top. You can tell they actually care that you're having a good time. And the location? Unreal. You're literally right by the beach with this amazing view, especially at sunset. It’s the kind of spot where you can just sit back, enjoy your meal, and soak it all in. Definitely coming back. highly recommend if you’re looking for good vibes and even better food.

Sensational service from Taylor and Patrick. Flat iron steak cooked to perfection MR with mashed potatoes and asparagus sides. Mac and cheese short rib, crispy calamari, all were delicious. Please excuse my photos showing the dishes half eaten. I can assure the food was delicious and the presentation was excellent compared to my photos. Parking is a challenge but absolutely worth the visit. Pause parking about two blocks east of the restaurant is the best/fastest option. $5 all day!

This place is gorgeous with a great spot to watch the sunset right by the pier. The staff was so nice! We had Johnny (probably spelled different so please correct me so I can correct it!) and she was wonderful. I got the filet trio I think it was and it was sublime!! It’s like 3 small meals in one. I also got the passio-rita. It had such a soft smokey flavor from the mezcal that was balanced by the fruit making it perfect for those who don’t like the smokiness of mezcal. We felt welcomed and comfortable there.

My husband and I went here for our wedding anniversary! The food was delicious! The staff were super friendly and our waiter, Oliver, was so kind and amazing. I HIGHLY recommend! We ordered the 333 greens (salad), the flat iron steak, and the flourless chocolate cake! It was all perfect!

Great romantic sunset setting. Efficient, on point service. The meatloaf was recommend ed. Huge portion but sadly a bit on the dry side! Delicious drinks. One of the best chocolate flourless cakes! The apple crumble was good but a tad soupy.

Restaurant
Dini's By The Sea is an elegant American bar and grill that offers a diverse menu with Mediterranean-inspired dishes, including calamari and filet mignon eggs benedict. The restaurant's oceanfront location along Highway 101 in Carlsbad provides stunning sunset views over Carlsbad State Beach, making it an ideal spot for a romantic dinner or special occasion.
The ambiance and food are amazing here, but I really have to give it to the people who work here, because a restaurant is only really as great as their employees and everyone here… from the moment we stepped in, so truly amazing! They have an incredible staff, who are friendly, attentive and super helpful. It is so important to have really kind, knowledgeable and hardworking people who create an ambiance of care and delight for customers and this place takes the cake for all of that! It’s a busy and pretty popping spot to enjoy a delicious seafood dinner and a sunset. Their flatbread, sweet potato fries with homemade hot ketchup, fish and chips, salmon BLT and the prime rib sandwich with dip and oysters are all so deliciously devine!! Highly recommend coming for lunch or dinner. It’s right across the street from a million dollar ocean view too. Five stars: definitely would dine here again. Thanks Dini’s by the Sea for making it a memorable evening. We’ll be back soon!

Honestly, it pains me to write this review as the food is mediocre at best. It is more like resort + bar vibe in here. The food portion is alright and flavor is the issue - too bland for my taste. My fish and chip has no flavor as I expect the fish at least salted properly. Same as clam and mussels. If I look for decent seafood, I will pass here. But I just want nice view yeah sure.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! I have been coming here since I moved up here in 2021. The owners and staff are amazing, the food and drinks are made to perfection! They have drink specials weekly and are always doing some kind of fun event for the holidays like 4th of July, Memorial Day, thanksgiving etc! The outdoor seating is plenty and literally right on the 101 so the sunsets are next level! Christian and Dana are the sweetest, most welcoming, kind and FUN bartenders. This is the best spot in the Carlsbad village, you won’t regret checking this place out! They also have their own covered garage for parking so that’s a plus too, you can also leave your car overnight if you need to uber home. They close at midnight FYI ;)

Food service stopped at 10 or so which we did not know. Our server was very gracious and friendly when she let us know. The food was fresh and tasty. Calamari strips were good, breakfast was good and the sandwich we had, the reuben, also good. Really thick bread on the reuben! The parmesan truffle fries were quite tasty, as well. We did not get drinks. The bar seemed full of happy people and employees were all really friendly. Nice vibe

Coral was our server. She was especially helpful and provided suggestions on requests we had. Food was very good. Onion rings were nice and crispy. Salmon was excellent. Service was superb. Highly recommend Dini’s By the Sea.

I wanted to eat with an ocean view with my 7 year old. I was happy they had some of his favorites. He had cheese pizza and chicken strips! Of course food for the next day, but when he's happy, I'm happy. I loved the crab cakes and house salad. The clam chowder was ok. I like more of a creamy flavor than a citrus one, but it was edible and not gritty. =) The waiter Elijah was very attentive and the place was cleaned while you ate. The busboy would not let a used plate sit long if you were done. =) They even welcomed digs if you had them. We will definitely be back.

Oceanside Municipal Pier, an iconic wooden fishing pier originally built in 1888, extends 1,942 feet into the Pacific Ocean. It's a prime spot for whale watching as it straddles whale migration routes. Visitors can catch glimpses of gray whales, minke whales, fin whales, humpback whales and dolphins from the pier or book a family whale watch cruise with Oceanside Adventures.
The ambiance and scenery at Oceanside were absolutely phenomenal. From the sound of the waves to the stunning ocean views, it was the kind of place that instantly puts you at ease. Whether you’re relaxing on the beach or just taking it all in, Oceanside has a vibe that’s hard to beat.

We rented two surreys to bike along the one-mile strand, $70 for one hour total. The weather was sunny and breezy. The walk along the pier was gorgeous, and we got to watch the surfers catch some waves. Parking was a challenge in the area.

Oceanside Pier is a must-visit in Southern California. With panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean, sandy beaches, surfers riding waves, and the Oceanside coastline stretching for miles, it’s perfect for photography, walking, or just relaxing. These shots were taken from the pier on a clear summer day, showing the vibrant blue water, wide sandy shore, and the bustling beach scene. If you’re visiting Oceanside, CA, the pier is ideal for sunset views, ocean breezes, and classic California coastal scenery.

Fun Stop when in Oceanside. I grew up coming to the pier in the 1970's. The buildings and businesses along the shoreline have changed but the Pier is still there. Multiple interations of the pier have stood for decades. The pier has been beaten by storms and most recently fire. The end of the pier is still closed but most of the pier is open to the public. Fishing is popular for many and the pier provides good spots. Rental equipment is available if you want to wet a line and don't have gear. Maybe, some smoked fish will soothe the call. Paid parking is available just south of the pier. Public restrooms are also available. The "Top Gun House" is across the street from the pier area. Take a walk down the pier and breathe in some sea air. You might spot some sea lions or even a dolphin.

The Oceanside Fishing Pier is a fantastic spot for a relaxing walk by the ocean. Whether you’re visiting during the day or at night, it offers breathtaking views and a peaceful atmosphere. At night, the pier is beautifully lit, creating a calm and romantic vibe that makes it perfect for an evening stroll. It’s one of those places where you can truly enjoy the sound of the waves and the fresh sea breeze. Definitely a must-visit if you’re in Oceanside!

I lived in Oceanside in the early 60's, when I was just a young child & my boyfriend & I come back every now & then to fish on the Oceanside pier & he loves fishing on the jetty, too! Before we even met, he told me he spent about a decade of his childhood & teens back in the 70s, staying in a condo in Oceanside, right on the beach, every summer! He just loved it, as it was nice to get out of San Bernardino County, where he grew up, to be by the ocean!

Great place for a walk, especially during the low tide, which allows you to go under the boardwalk! There can be a lot of people at times doing all kinds of activities. Lots of surfers, joggers, children, photographers, folks fishing, tourists. I've also seen some homeless people. I've seen whales, dolphins, and different kinds of birds here, too. There's loads of places to eat. There's also a number of restrooms and showers people can use. There's a playground for kids. Loads of parking and a number of rental properties for people on vacation.
Charwin B — Google review
Stopped by the beach and pier for a date night. Beach was okay, but the pier was nice. It was pretty crowded near the pier when we went. Parking is a pain, Parking lots are a good walk from the beach/pier and cost by the hour. Otherwise, we still had a good time walking the pier and watching the surfers and people fishing.

Craft Coast Beer & Tacos is a popular spot for those looking for a laid-back atmosphere and delicious tacos paired with locally crafted brews. The place tends to get busy, especially in the evenings, but the wait is worth it. The birria tacos are highly recommended, bursting with flavor and served with a variety of tasty sauces. The Carne Asada Nachos are also a hit, generously portioned and perfect for sharing.
I enjoyed Craft Coast Beer & Tacos even more than I expected! I tried the Helles and the Agua Baja—both were crisp, refreshing, and full of flavor. For food, I ordered a Birria taco, an Al Pastor taco, and a side of chips and salsa. The tortillas tasted fresh, and the Birria taco was fantastic—everything you want from birria. The Al Pastor had great flavor, though the meat was a bit on the dry side. Overall, a great meal paired with excellent beers. The patio is also a great spot for people-watching or catching the sunset. Definitely worth a visit!

Craft Coast Beer & Tacos in Oceanside is an absolute gem! The tacos are amazingly delicious, packed with flavor, fresh ingredients, and perfectly cooked meats. You can really taste the quality. I love the whole concept of Beer and Tacos, such a fun, laid-back vibe that’s perfect for relaxing with friends. Their craft beer selection is impressive and pairs perfectly with the food. The atmosphere is lively, the staff is friendly, and everything feels well thought out. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, this spot is a must-try.

Perfect spot for a quick bite to eat a tacos. It’s seat yourself and order at the register. So you can order and eat quick or order and spend as long as you’d like. The food was delicious. I order two Al pastor tacos (I ate it way too fast and didn’t get a picture because I was so hungry! Oops!) four stars because there was almost too much mashed avocado and a tiny tiny single piece of pineapple per taco. I’ve had tacos with more cilantro on it… but that’s me being picky. It was still delicious.
Ashley T — Google review
Seastar Hazy and Old West WC IPA were both 5/5. The pastor tacos are fantastic. Reminds me of what you get in Tijuana. The birria isn't borrego, but I was pleasantly surprised by how good it is. The corn tortillas were also on point. If you are in town, stop here. I'm definitely coming back again and again.

We had a great time at this yummy location in downtown Oceanside. The vibe was good. The crowd was good. Dog friendly. Close to everything. The only downside was the waiter grabbed my wife drink before she was done. She was less than thrilled to have lost the last two tiny sips of her kamboocha.

Easily one of the best places to get tacos and a drink. Al Pastor tacos hands down the best I’ve had. Tacos has large compared to other street tacos. Plenty of seating and the staff is great.

Seems to be one of the livelier and more consistent spots in Oceanside. Great location, big open space with seating inside or outside, and a tasty (but expensive) menu. Beer is pretty solid with the lagers pairing particularly well with their food. Would stop by again if I was in the area.

Toast Gastrobrunch is a trendy brunch spot in Carlsbad with amazing food and an intimate setting. The french toast was so delicious, I could have eaten it all day! The restaurant also has an espresso bar and outdoor seating perfect for a relaxing weekend brunch.
Great spot for brunch. Never seen so many unusual options for their mimosa flight. Love love love it! I selected the classic and the lavender vanilla, and I asked our server to select the other 2 for us. We got prickly pear and lemon. This place also has a full bar so brunch cocktails in addition to mimosas. I had the stuffed French toast and my partner had the smoked salmon toast with egg. Both were just delicious. There’s something for everyone on their menu. We were seated almost immediately on a busy Sunday morning. Our server was kind and attentive. Plenty of places to sit depending on your mood and needs: outdoor, indoor, community tables, and private tables.

The atmosphere is amazing. I love that they are extremely dog friendly. Our wait Saul was excellent! He took great care of us. We did patio seating since we brought our dog but dogs are allowed for indoor seating. Hubby ordered the monster bBoody Mary and I had the white peach belini. Both were a 10. The kids ordered the chocolate chip pancakes combo. Both had mix reactions. Both said the pancakes were a 9 but the sausage was different. My oldest sone rated it a 10 and my other son rates it a 7. Hubby got the lobster scrambled. The potato balls is so good and he said the scrambled was a 9. I got the basic pancake combo with bacon. The pancakes were super fluffy and the bacon was soo good. We will be back just to try other things on the menu. If you are in the area, please give it a try.

Stopped for brunch on a Monday, and we were able to sit in a patio. They didn’t mind us (just a party of two) occupying a larger table since it was Monday. We ordered our food and flights of mimosas. The food and drinks came out without waiting too long. We shared our food, eggs in purgatory and smoked salmon, and i enjoyed them very much. Both dishes were spicy, just how I like them! The workers were friendly and efficient. We found a street parking spot with ease as it was a weekday.

BELIEVE THE 5-STAR REVIEWS! OMG... Toasted Gastrobrunch is definitely on my regular restaurant rotation now. It's highly recommended by Yelpers far and wide, as a brunch enthusiast I can verify this is a phenomenal place. I heard great things about the A-B-C Hash (Shoutout to our friend Audrey the Yelp CM who recommended this dish) so I had to try it! I ordered it with a side of rosemary sourdough and oof, it was an other-worldly experience. The avocado was perfect, I typically don't eat avo but this place changed my mind. Everything from the potatoes, meat, and eggs was fresh and premium quality. We tried a flight of mimosas (pear, lavender, etc.) and they had a good amount of alcohol. The flight glasses were mini-size, so we got some extra soft drinks just in case. Service was a little wonky, we didn't have too many check-ins from our waitress. Our drinks didn't get refilled regularly, that was a little troubling. We just got a lazy vibe from some of the staff. Thankfully, this didn't ruin the experience, but we'd appreciate better service next time! I WILL give kudos to a gentleman from the staff who sent away a homeless dude who was about to start stuff. He tactfully handled the situation, and called security without causing a disruption for guests. The restaurant was trendy, but it never felt like it was trying too hard. It was a cool place, I enjoyed the outdoor patio ALOT! I definitely like the comfortable brunch atmosphere. Oh, and their kitchen is stunning, I love getting to see the chefs in action! Note: I checked on their Yelp page, they have a Yelp waitlist!! Be sure to secure your slot!

Great location for brunch! Lots of seating inside and many seats on the patio with fire pits in the middle of the tables. Service: Our party of 5 took a while to be seated since apparently there were a couple of servers that called out sick and staffing was short. Knowing this, we gave our server some grace and were patient in waiting. Unfortunately, whenever we did ask for something, it felt like we were bothering him. Regardless, food came out within 10-15 minutes. Food: -Coffee Cake Cakes ($14.5): perfect enough to share with the table. Comes with 3 large pancakes and it wasn’t too sweet -Spanish Churros ($12): also shared with the table. Churros were crispy and pretty good! -Lobster Toast ($20): some pictures didn’t do it justice but this is one big toast that was very filling! There were far more bacon bits than lobster though. -Short Rib Benny ($22): my husband enjoyed this dish. Comes with round truffle potatoes which were tasty. Overall: Very cute brunch place at a nice location. Next time, I’d wanna try out their mimosa flights!

This review is long overdue, but we couldn’t go without sharing how amazing our experience was at Toasted Gastrobrunch! A few months before our wedding in June, the original restaurant we planned to host our rehearsal dinner closed, and we spent days searching for a new venue. We reached out to so many places near our reception site, and thankfully, we messaged Toasted Gastrobrunch! Cassandra responded so promptly and was incredibly helpful from the start. They were able to accommodate our group of about 90–100 people, and honestly, it turned out to be the best surprise — a true silver lining! Cassandra, Cody, and the entire staff were amazing. They even created a custom menu for us that offered a mix of Italian and American food outside of their usual brunch menu, which our guests absolutely loved. We were also able to have the restaurant to ourselves, which made the evening feel extra special and intimate. Everything exceeded our expectations — the buffet was plentiful, the drinks were great, and the restaurant itself was spacious and comfortable for all our guests. After dinner, we ended up dancing the night away with even more friends and family who were in town for the wedding, and it was such a perfect way to kick off the weekend! If you’re looking for a reception venue or a restaurant to host your large party, look no further — Toasted Gastrobrunch is it! Thank you, thank you, thank you for helping make our wedding weekend so special! — The Garcias

The Oceanside Sunset Market is a beloved weekly event that has been drawing in thousands of locals and tourists for over a decade. I genuinely look forward to Thursdays here in Oceanside. The vibrant food scene draws me in with a variety of mouthwatering options, from fresh seafood to tempting street tacos. I usually aim to arrive before 5 PM, as the atmosphere becomes bustling with people eager to indulge in the culinary delights. After savoring a delicious meal, I like to stroll down to the Oceanside Pier. The view at sunset is simply breathtaking, with hues of orange, pink, and purple painting the sky as the sun dips below the horizon. Watching the waves crash against the pier while the day comes to a close is such a peaceful experience. I love Oceanside...O'side 😁😊🥰

If you are ever planning a holiday to Oceanside, make sure you're here on a Thursday. You do not want to miss this outstanding, family-friendly, dog friendly bustling market with every type of street food you could ever imagine. I walked around with a smile on my face, absorbing the atmosphere and the aromas wafting from the vendors. It is an absolute dream for a foodie like myself. Great music and entertainment in every corner. It is a safe environment for a solo traveler, and the people are just so nice. I walked to and from my hotel. Grab some dinner and don't forget dessert and make the short walk to the beach for a sunset picnic. This was a night I'll never forget, and I would go again in a heartbeat...I won't eat all day either, so I can try it all.

I didn't really know what to expect but was told it was a great market to visit. I enjoyed my time here, eventually finding food from 3 different vendors to keep everyone in the family happy. Came on a Saturday for brunch - place was already poppin’. Luckily there was still plenty of outdoor seating. All around the tacos pretty good. I think that was the consensus all around. They’ve got Mexican coke and an assortment of bottles of beers for breakfast too.

Sancho’s Tacos seemed like a great place to try based on the reviews and ratings. It was close to the beach and had a good selection of tacos. However, upon arrival, we noticed something was off. The sign upfront instructed us to place our order and then take a seat, but when we entered the bar, the bartender made eye contact but didn’t say anything else. When we went to order, the person taking the order was just matter-of-fact. The food was okay, but the two burritos I ordered were very bland and lacked flavour and seasoning. The service was also okay, but not quick for the amount of people in the restaurant. Overall, I felt the atmosphere was lacking because of the staff’s attitudes towards customers. I don’t think I’ll be back next time I’m in the area.

Yummy spot for tacos a couple blocks back from the beach in Oceanside. Boisterous atmosphere with a mix of bar seating and high top tables. Fun food truck feel where you place orders. Nice mix of tacos with meat, fish and veggie options. Salsa options are interesting - both quite sweet. Their sweet and spicy is as advertised, definitely sweet and definitely spicy. Guac quite tasty - lots of fresh cilantro and nice fresh fried tortillas with ample salt. Yum.

Very good food! We got the surf and turf burrito and the bean and cheese burrito with guac added in and it was delicious! Ate every bite. Burritos are a really good size as well! The star was friendly and food came out quick and super hot! Would totally recommend this place to grab a bite to eat and sitting on the patio is a nice choice.

We are always on the lookout for places where vegans and vegetarians can eat, and this place more than fits the bill! I had a great taco, ordered two of the Flaco Tacos - delicious and totally filling. Probably the best tacos I've ever had. Avocados, mushrooms, salsa verde. I have GOT to try to make this at home. I don't even know what my boyfriend ordered, but he said it was great and he would definitely order it again. Some kind of huge nachos. We loved the decor, so colorful, just makes you happy to be there. Service was excellent, staff was cool. I'd give it 5 stars if it was an all-vegan restaurant, but since it's not, I can only give it 4 stars.

So much fun and amazing tacos!! Service, Food, and Atmosphere are always on point! We drive over 50 miles just to eat here. Never a disappoint. Thank You ST!! Nachos are my new favorite. The 5150 sauce (and more) are now available to purchase by the bottle. Made some bomb burritos w/ 5150 🤗

🌮 I ate here with my friend and teammate Amanda. We plan to explore some of the neighborhoods in North County San Diego to check out Real Estate opportunities for our clients and HIGHLIGHT some of the local businesses in those areas. 🤗 🌮 Sancho’s Tacos has a few other locations in Southern California. This particular one in Oceanside has been open for 7-ish years and the Bar area is approximately 2-ish years old. There used to be booth seating, before they were approved to build the bar portion. 🌮 Jacob (Cowboy Hat) was our Bartender and recommended some tasty tacos and beverages to try. 🌮 We had the following and it was all sooooo tasty! - Surf & Turf Tacos - Angus Try Tip, Sautéed Shrimp, Sour Cream, Cabbage, Pico De Gallo and Chipotle Sauce. - Flounder Pounder - Grilled Marinated Fish, Cabbage & Cilantro, Crema Fresca, Salsa Verde and Chubbie Sauce - Pounder’s Carnal - Hand Dipped, Beer Battered fish on a Flour Tortilla topped with Cabbage, Pico, Chipotle and Sour Cream - Skrimps - Grilled to Order Shrimp, Sautéed in Real Butter with Fresh Garlic and Parsley, Fresh Cabbage, Pice De Gallo and Chipotle Sauce 😋 If you’re looking for a quick bite, a satisfying lunch, or a delicious dinner, and you’re also in the mood for some adult beverages, Sancho’s Tacos is the place to be! The atmosphere is so vibrant and the service is top-notch. You’ll definitely have a great time!

Located at 201 North Cleveland Street, Oceanside, CA 92054, The LAB Collaborative is a top choice for those seeking upscale dining in a laid-back atmosphere. This restaurant offers modern Californian cuisine with a focus on high-quality locally sourced ingredients. Whether you're a CEO or a surfer, you can expect a warm welcome and an exceptional dining experience here.
I had dropped in for a quick sandwich and a salad. Parking is on the street so it can be hot or miss but there is plenty of free parking one block away at Cleveland and Seagaze. The venue is open and airy with excellent light and outdoor seating. Place is ideal for a business lunch. My server Maddi (hope I spelled that right) was friendly, helpful and smiled a lot. I had a pleasurable lunch and I am sure you will too.

“ THE LAB” Collaborative So I went to the “LAB-Collaborative” restaurant today located in Oceanside on the corner of Cleveland Avenue and Mission. The hostess (Camron) is perfect in her position (her People Skills are impeccable). I explained to her that I wanted a corner- table so I could read a magazine during my lunch. Cameron and the manager (Brian) ensured that I was accommodated very well. I ordered the “Citrus Cilantro Halibut” for lunch. It came with roasted potatoes and a vegetable salad of: shredded carrots onions cabbage , seasoned with a cilantro sauce. The seasoning of this meal was awesome. I totally enjoyed myself, I just wanted to have time to catch up on a fav mag and novel during lunch. The waiter from the bar (Ray) didn’t miss a beat… his service was awesome but not intrusive. Prior to my departure, I introduced my self to Nikki (A Bar Manager) who share how much she enjoyed working with this group. In my opinion, this team will make this venue sail fabulously. Each person I met seems to bring their own magic to make this venue memorable. I have added this location as a favorite go to for the weekend.

Honestly the worst food we’ve had in Oceanside ☹️ I really hate to write a bad review, but if I can help someone from spending how much we did on food that tasted like fast food, I felt like I needed to. I ordered the hot honey pizza which sounds good, but was executed terribly, the sausage tasted like totinos and my Fiancé ordered a jerk chicken sandwich. They both tasted like they were from McDonald’s. The restaurant couldn’t figure out the music and played the same song multiple times, the lighting was bad, overall vibe off. I do NOT recommend.

My friends and I had such a fabulous experience at the lab. Reserving a table for our party of 8 was easy. The ambiance is really nice, super open, airy and friendly. They had a baseball game playing on one side of the restaurant, so sports aficionados were happy. Our server was super sweet. The food and drinks were delicious – flavorful, fresh, and priced at a fair market rate. I ordered a caprese salad and added chicken and avocado to up the protein game and it was delicious. The burrata was the star of the show, and the dressing was perfect. My husband got a jerk chicken sandwich with tater tots and it was huge, he could only eat half of it. He said his cocktails were fabulous. The rest of our party also loved their food. It was a perfect dinner experience, and their indoor dining option was as lovely as the outdoor patio, with fresh seabreeze wafting in. I will definitely go back when my family and I visit Oceanside again!

This spot has quickly become a favorite, especially with its giant TV and comfortable outdoor seating. It's the perfect place to catch a game or just enjoy the ocean breeze. The real star of the show, though, is the food. I had the Philly cheesesteak which was seasoned and very filling. Whether you're looking for a lively atmosphere, delicious food, or potent drinks, The Lab definitely delivers

Great meal with nice outdoor dinning. Our first round of drinks were on happy hour and we both had the surf and turf. The steak was cooked perfectly and the shrimp had a ton of flavor. The flourless chocolate cake was the perfect dessert for our anniversary dinner.

Stopped in for a yummy lunch at The Lab Collaborative in Oceanside! Great cocktails, we loved the purple palm and blackberry smoke. The lab style wings with Thai glaze and pesto veggie pizza will put a smile on your face. Dog friendly. Super sweet staff and the food comes out quickly. Recommend!

Tin Fish Oceanside is a casual seafood chain located at the base of the Oceanside Pier. While parking can be a challenge, visitors can find street parking or use a nearby lot. The restaurant offers a variety of seafood options, from fish tacos to oyster po' boys, as well as burgers and chicken dishes. This place is always amazingly delicious. I always get the colossal cod sandwich, and my kids get the chicken nuggets or the fish and chips, and they enjoy them. Afterward, we wash em down with some delicious milkshakes. Shout out to the fryer Noah combs for frying up some delicious flaky yet moist COD. Keep up the good work!!!

As someone who travels a lot and has tried fish & chips in many well-known places, I can confidently say this is among the best in the U.S. – if not the very best. The fish is incredibly delicious, perfectly fried, and served with a stunning view of the ocean. What truly elevates the meal is their sauce; when you mix it with ketchup and hot sauce, it transforms the dish into something unbelievably tasty. The staff is friendly, attentive, quick, well-organized, and clean, and the food quality is simply excellent. I highly recommend this place – the flavors are unforgettable, and it’s easily one of the finest fish & chips experiences I’ve ever had in America. Highly recommended!

So I'm from the Midwest and don't eat on the beach often, but retirees on the boardwalk recommended the place. My fish was cooked really well. Good fries and cold slaw and enjoyed the vanilla milkshake. Menu has lots of options with different sized portions. Picnic tables were all clean. Staff was friendly. Would recommend.

Really tasty fish tacos. They were pricey, but you can ask for the a la carte. & they are much bigger than the average taco. I was filled with 2. It did take 30 min to get food about, & they were only like 4 orders ahead of me.

Brought the family to the Tin Fish for dinner. It was delicious and HUGE! The fish was perfectly fried. Tender and delicious. NOT a beer batter which I like. The waffle fries were good and plentiful. The shrimp and calamari were cooked perfectly and paired well with all of the house made sauces. We had so much food that we had to take boxes home and had a whole extra meal for the next day! The kicker is, for everything being fried, it WAS NOT GREASY. This means they change their oil and cook at the right temps! Finished the meal off with some smoothies, ice cream and one of the best churros I've had in a long time! Plenty of cinnamon and sugar. The place was clean the staff was very friendly. I'm definitely looking forward to going back to try some other stuff and that cheeseburger burrito.
Preston S — Google review
A great place that kinda is setup like a beach/pier restaurant. Everything on the menu is good. Though the cheeseburger burrito is only served in the morning (because of eggs), so I was disappointed that I couldn't order that. But the family was happy and it was good. I'd like to try and the Fish and chips, as I had the burger. It was like any other burger, but still good.

Fine dining restaurant
Matsu is a bespoke Japanese restaurant located in Oceanside, offering an intimate dining experience with only 14 wooden tables illuminated by 14 lights. The 10-course tasting menu combines traditional Japanese cuisine with seasonal Southern California flavors, curated by Chef William Eick. Dishes like grilled cabbage gyoza with caviar and house tempura-battered ebi showcase the culinary excellence of Matsu.
I planned to propose to my girlfriend on our Caribbean cruise near the end of December. An ill timed head cold ruined my plan. Before we made it back to San Diego, I plotted on a new venue to pop the question. Miraculously, Matsu had availability on NYE. I surprised my gf, a huge foodie, with the reservation. To my delight, it was on her list of restaurants in the area she wanted to try. I contacted the staff ahead of our reservation and coordinated a flower delivery. The food was delicious, we were stuffed in a good way by the end of courses. One of the servers brought out the flowers on cue and I asked the love of my life to marry me... she ugly cried and SAID YES! Apparently we were their first proposal. The staff was super accommodating and the GM even recorded the proposal from her stand. I highly recommend this restaurant if you love Japanese food or want to taste it done well.

One of the best meals of my life. If you are a lover of fine dining, I couldn’t recommend more. We ordered the 10-course tasting menu and every course was a 10/10. Loved them all, the lobster chowder, shrimp tempura, sheepshead, and incredible desserts. The dish ware was immaculate, and the overall ambiance is stunning. You can see, feel, and taste that everything is done with purpose. We ordered the Fuji, koi, and kitsune cocktails and loved them. The waitstaff and bartender were superb, very warm and extremely knowledgeable. They are able to accommodate dietary restrictions. Couldn’t recommend more!

Inventive and well-orchestrated. So much is sourced locally which is great to see. Staff is knowledgeable and works well as a team. The bartender made some amazing cocktails and also was wealth of information when we had questions about what was in front of us. Oceanside is full of amazing and exciting places.

We met Chef William at the Oceanside Seafood Market Sunday. He was very approachable & answered multiple questions even though he was in the middle of cooking for their monthly Chef demo. My wife and I decided then and there we'd visit Matsu the following Thursday to experience his restaurant. We were greeted and waited on by Coltrain, a gem of a human being and very passionate about food, service and especially Matsu. The bartender (sorry, I don't remember your name) was amazing. Hands down the best mocktails we've ever had. Chef William took the time to come to our table to welcome us and make some suggestions. Every dish was spectacular. I won't go into detail. (See photos) Bottom line: Matsu checks all the boxes. Amazing service. Tremendous food. Perfect presentation. A wonderful experience for the senses. We will definitely be back.

Coltrin was our server and made this a wonder experience! Their menu options were all about QUALITY food amazing fresh ingredients and delicious flavors. Highly recommend this place for any occasion. We had a beef tartar and a amberjack raspberry dish. They serve you an appetizer complimentary and a dessert dish after as well. Their menu is simple and the staff will answer any questions you may have. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!

When my wife and I pulled up to Matsu for our 23rd anniversary, I didn’t know what to expect. The building looked quiet, with closed windows and a simple door. For a moment I wondered if it was even open. But as soon as I pulled the handle and stepped inside, we were transported into a different world. Dim, elegant lighting set the mood, highlighting the beautiful wood tables and intimate setting. From the moment we were greeted, the service was flawless, professional yet warm. Every dish was incredible, cocktails perfectly crafted, and the whole night felt special. Matsu is truly a hidden gem in Oceanside.
Asaf B — Google review
We came to Matsu for my partner's milestone birthday, since he's traveled the world and eaten at high-end restaurants, this was an opportunity to see what Oceanside has to offer. We treated ourselves to the 10-course menu; he selected the Wagyu beef option, while I opted for the duck. Each dish was an intricate piece of art and a delight for our taste buds. My partner isn't afraid to vocalize when food is unsatisfactory for him and each dish was thoroughly enjoyed by each of us. The service was spectacular, each dish felt like a brief theatrical performance with a short monologue paired with graceful movement as we were served. The ambiance and decor were elegantly minimalist and serene. I recall noting the intelligence of the design of the wood chairs, intended to conform naturally to a seated body. I also love when tables are lit with elongated pendant lamps, so the light doesn't shine in my eyes, which also adds a theatrical flair. The entire experience at Matsu completely met our expectations. We're looking forward to returning periodically to experience their seasonal menus. Thank you for providing this dining experience for North County San Diego.

We really enjoyed driving around this harbor. People were enjoying watching the Sea Lions, and eating at restaurants nearby. We ate at Joe's crab shack, and it was wonderful. The parking is a little limited, but there's more parking opposite the restaurant, through the tunnel.

I think it is a gem of a place to Oceanside. I love seeing boats in their slips and people out paddle boarding and kayaking. There is a place here to rent these items as well so you can also enjoy the calm waters of this harbor

Being near the Ocean always makes me happy. This is always such an interesting place to explore. Depending on your mood, you can see and do such a variety of things. One of my favorite things is seeing all of the beautiful flowers around the Harbor area. There are a lot of cute, laid back places to get a bite to eat and get some fresh air. I can get lost in each little area. The boats and Sea Lions are fun to see. Watching surfers or Jr Lifeguards in training is always interesting. And just looking at the waves calms me. If you drive around a bit first, you can get a sense of where you want to be. It is a cool view of the Oceanside Pier from here, but I recommend walking on the Pier if you can. It is a breathtaking view and so cool to be way out on the Ocean. I love watching the surfers from high above. And since you are right there, you might as well get a Coconut Cream Filled Donut from Parlor Doughnuts. I love how the whole area makes me feel like I just had a vacation, even if I just poke around for a few hours. If you are passing by, you can even just drive it and see if it goes on your list for later exploring. And if you are not from around here, I would say you just have to see one of my favorite drives from Oceanside to Torrey Pines along the Ocean. There are so many spots to stop a minute and soak up the beauty. And if you like flowers, the whole city is like a Botanic Garden. There are lots of high spots overlooking the Ocean, places to get your feet in the sand, grab some gelato and catch the sunset. Again, just a little drive makes me feel like I had an entire vacation. Enjoy!

I love this beach! It was a great place for kids to hang out. We also played beach volleyball on the nets, which are very high quality! Sand feels nice, and is clean. The water looks very immaculate at night when the suns sets I the clouds on a cloudy day. Always saw attentive life guards, and people around. Very chill vibe, everyone relaxed. No weirdos. Parking is a little challenge if you don't want to pay, we parked about a 10-15 minute walk away, which isn't bad if you like walking through the shops and taking in the harbor
Kevin S — Google review
Too many rocks. First too many on the beach and most importantly in and out of water and if there's a rip current, you are constantly hitting those rocks. My foot got sliced by my toes and my daughter's knees were bleeding. If you could swim past the first set of waves, then you pass the rocks but eventually you have to come in .. The beach is kinda small. As soon as you hit the sand, it's lifeguard tower, rocks, a little sand, rocks, water, more rocks.
Christina R — Google review
Harbor beach is the only "quintessential" sandy beach in North County. The rest are all rocky. The City of Oceanside has a "Beach Comber" vehicle that sifts the sand and removes objects, leaving clean, smooth, soft sand. It looks like it's been groomed, which I suppose it has. The beach is very flat with a very gradual slope into the water. This creates waves that do not break right on the shore. This anomaly is very favorable to young children or those that are not used to it. (Usual, rocky "high slope" beaches have shore break waves, which can be very dangerous due to wave energy released in a short distance.) It's this "very gradual" slope that makes harbor beach so "family friendly." The reason there's so much sand here vs. all the other beaches in North San Diego County? The two jetties help capture and retain sands that are migratory. (It also helps trap sand at the harbor mouth, requiring seasonal dredging, but that's for another post.) There are lifeguards stationed at this beach, during seasonal use. There IS "pay-for-parking" there. (There's also "free" parking closer to the stores/restaurants. A short walk.) There is surfing allowed as long as you don't enter the designated swimming areas. Look for signage/flags posted adjacent to lifeguard towers. Or, ask a lifeguard for advice regarding tides/waves/water temp/ jellyfish (rare.) The jetties are known as the "North" jetty (harbor mouth) and the South jetty (San Luis Rey River mouth.) Both of these jetties are SUPERB surf breaks. They change, depending upon which direction the waves energy is coming from, and the tidal action. WARNING: These jetties can produce very large/powerful waves during storm energies. These are to be RESPECTED or you can be in trouble, quickly. DO NOT walk out onto any jetty if you see waves breaking OVER said jetty. You will end up in the water, getting bashed by sharp rip-rap rock. NOT a fun time! But, stay away from the surfers/jetties and you'll have a quarter-mile of the most picturesque white sandy beaches with waves lapping the water's edge. A great place to skimboard/boogieboard, or just play in the water with kids/grandkids. (Or, great grandkids, if ya got 'em!) Here's a pic from 04APR2025 for reference...

Definitely recommend if you are looking for a great value and flexibility.

Nov. 2025: the museum was exhibiting, as I recall, two main themes, surfing/beach and textiles. I thought the surfing/beach exhibit was fantastic, some very clever and talented artists. We didn’t spend too much time in the textile room. Upstairs held artwork for sale, from $50-$3000 and up. The overall experience was very good, very professional. We received their senior discount. Street parking was plentiful and free. We spent an hour or so there.

We were there for the free day/ pom pom event. It was a beautiful day which made it a great event to attend. The art was amazing I do not know how people have such patience to make such amazing prices. I was very impressed with the clothing art. Made from a verity of materials such as rice, popcorn, sea shells and so much more. Love that they will have a free event every first of the Sunday of this month. I hope it attracts more people by doing this.

I stopped by for breakfast today and had such a lovely experience! Makenna (I hope I got the spelling right!) took my order, and she's just a delightful, friendly young lady. Mackie was super sweet, too—she brought my coffee and the All Day Bum to my table with a smile. I ordered the Greek Bowl, and let me tell you, it was filling and bursting with flavor! It's such a great way to start the day!

This is a really nice bakery. I stopped by to get a few sweets for a birthday celebration and I was very impressed with the slices of cake. I got the key lime tower which was my favorite! It had the gram cracker bottom and tasted amazing. We also tried the berry dessert special, as well as the strawberry passion. All 3 were delicious. The girl serving me was fast and friendly, the dining area was clean, and the coffee was on point. Definitely a nice spot to visit when passing through.

We have loved Petite Madeline for a long, long time. So when we decided to get married, we knew there was only one option for the cake and desserts at the reception. We fed everyone a huge meal and then brought out the desserts. And they were gone in a short amount of time. Everyone we talked to said, “Oh, this is so good!” I was really surprised how fast the desserts and cake got eaten after how much food everyone already ate. But it is because Petite Madeline knows how to make people happy. They know how to make good food that is not dessert, too. We eat there frequently, and we always love it. Their Benedicts are so delicious. Their Greek bowl is incredible. Their waffles are tasty. Their coffee is perfect. Their tea is excellent. My only problems with Petite Madeline are that they don't have a location right next door to me and they aren't open 24 hours.

For our weekly coffee date, my wife and I enjoyed a moment at Petite Madeline Bakery. The service was quick. It felt good to receive a refill on coffee. The bakery shinned and was full of life and customers. The coffee was bold, and our tasty scone was a treat. This gem of a bakery adds to Oceanside's charm and delight. Yes, when are are in Oceanside, you may want to stop and enjoy a treat Petite Madeline Bakery.

It’s such a cute and nice place to eat right off of coast highway in Oceanside. The food was delicious, staff were nice, and they had so much seating inside. The pastries they offered were so cute and delicious! I took my mom here for Mother’s Day breakfast….definitely recommend!

I came for the pancake breakfast with bacon and eggs. Everything was good except the bacon. It tasted different. Perhaps it wasn't pork. I didn't get any pastries but will next time. They looked really good. You order and pay at the counter. Grab your napkins, silverware, and water at the self serve station then grab a table. They will bring your order. I would come back to give the pastries a try.

Sea Hive Marketplace in Oceanside offers a diverse shopping experience with its 13,000-square-foot space housing various small businesses selling an array of goods. Visitors can explore trendy boutiques, vintage thrift stores, and unique finds like rare vinyl records and eclectic accessories. The marketplace features a wide range of items including beachy clothing, jewelry, furniture, and unexpected treasures.
This place looks like it's a pretty normal sized store from the road but the building actually goes really far back and is packed with vendors. Lots of artwork, vintage books, jewelry, hats, and of course clothes (both men's and women's clothes). Soft leather jackets in perfect condition, cashmere lounge pants - just so many treasures. Editing to add the staff was also lovely and kept taking things to the counter for me so I could explore without knocking things over with clothes and statues I was carrying.

I finally decided to stop at Sea Hive Marketplace and I’m so happy I did. It’s like walking down memory lane from the 60’s and 70’s era. There are so many fun things and some weird but it’s a very fun place and you could spend hours here looking through things. The store doesn’t look that big from the street but the inside goes on forever. Each section of the store is individually run by various vendors. Outside behind the parking lot was an area with lots of vintage clothing.

Accessibility: there is a large parking lot with plenty of space. It is located on flat ground, wheelchair accessible. They do have a restroom inside, but im not sure if that is wheelchair accessible. There is a changing room/dressing room inside (see photo). Experience: such an awesome place! They have something of everything! Clothing, hats, jewelry, cards, trinkets, antiques, furniture, candles, oils, soaps, lamps, home goods, notebooks, records, crystals, everything! I could spend 2 hours looking at everything, but unfortunately I didn't have that time today. I'll have to come back soon! The female employees are all so sweet.

As a former north county resident, Sea Hive is always on the visit list! I love perusing the goodies, usually purchasing a hidden treasure at a reasonable price, and the staff is usually more than accommodating to unlock cases and help with any questions I have. The last time though, I asked for help unlocking a case explaining there were different turquoise rings from a few cases I wanted to see and the worker seemed somewhat annoyed that they had to keep going and getting keys. She also asked, “Which cases” and I had no context for that really other than saying something like, “One of the cases in middle of the middle room.” I didn’t end up buying a ring because after having three cases unlocked I felt too bad asking for more. Maybe the keys could be kept on a key ring or something so it’s less of a hassle for the workers?

I really love this place! I've been a couple times. The second visit though I was hounded quite a bit by multiple workers taking the items I was putting in my basket every few minutes to the front and it gave me a weird vibe as if I wasn't a trusted shopper. It was a little over the top and didn't give me the most comfortable experience.. The main babe I was in contact with was amazing and very helpful. The vendors and selection is great for personal shopping but also great for getting gifts for friends. Definitely recommend! the building is also huge so there's tons to look at. There's also an AMAZING record vendor and looooots of vintage clothing and goodies.

Went there while on vacation with my mom and aunt. Like Doctor Who's Tardis, it is much bigger on the inside than it looks on the outside. Fun and creative crafts, artwork and vintage items of all kinds throughout the store. They also play funky music! I was dancing in the aisles. We had a great time, and found several items to purchase.
Karma R — Google review
Never in my life have I ever been closely followed around by an employee throughout the entire store. My daughter and I were simply browsing, and she bought a small $11.50 item. I guess this lady thought we were going to steal it. She was beyond obvious and funny if she thought we didn’t notice. She definitely deterred me from wanting to buy anything. Good thing this marketplace wasn’t as great as I had hoped, because we for sure won’t be back. Your loss!

An eclectic blend of Knick Knacks and curiosities to browse, admire and purchase for the beautification of our homes. Larger than it seems from a drive-by it’s easy to get lost in the vastness of this gem of a variety shoppe.

Seafood restaurant
Lighthouse Oyster Bar & Grill is a charming waterfront cafe located in Oceanside Harbor Village. This family-owned restaurant, opened in 2010, offers a romantic dining experience with its picturesque views of the harbor and ocean. The menu, curated by renowned chef Luis Lopez Sr., features an extensive selection of fresh seafood, including oysters and fish sourced from local fishermen. In addition to seafood, the restaurant also serves burgers, tacos, steaks, and salads.
I enjoyed our meal so much and the service was great! Oysters were fresh and tasty! I had the 7 seas soup and it was good! The kids mac and cheese is home made and delicious! The steak wasn't the best, but being from Montana, you just can't compare.

Stopped here for lunch as we were on the beach and browsing the shoppes and stopped in for lunch. My wife had the Salmon and mixed vegetables. The salmon was underwhelming in taste the vegetables were very flavorful. I had the club sandwich which was the same, underwhelming and tasteless. The sweet potato fries were delicious. The Bloody Mary was spot on. Service was fantastic as well as the harbor views and ambience. We’ll be back to try other menu items(hopefully more tasty than our previous choices) as you can’t beat this location!!

Absolutely loved this place! 🌅 Hands down the best sunset view and the freshest, most delicious oysters I’ve ever had. Everything we ordered was full of flavor and super fresh. Portions were generous, and they’ve got a solid kids' menu with plenty of options. Can’t wait to come back here on our last day — it’s a must-visit!

Food was excellent. We had oysters on the half shell, oysters Rockefeller, fried calamari to start. Oysters were fresh and came with great sauces. Party had surf n turf, with a perfectly cooked steak and a perfectly cooked lobster tail. Fettuccine Alfredo with mixed seafood. Luis' Especial. Fishermans fry. Everyone agreed the food was amazing and looked forward to coming again.

Had a great Friday evening here with a friend, the views and atmosphere were immaculate! I had the ceviche and clam chowder and my friend regularly comes here for the oysters. The staff was very friendly and service was great. Would definitely come back again or bring people visiting from out of town.

My son and I were visiting Oceanside, California from Las Cruces, New Mexico. The Lighthouse Oyster Bar and Grill was the first restaurant we attended once we got into town. Our server named Chuy was very attentive and answered all of our questions. We started out sitting at the stool bar top overlooking the harbor. It started to get chilly after ordering appetizers so Chuy suggested we move to a table as it would be warmer for us. He was very accommodating with a delightful and charming personality. We will forever remember this experience and will definitely be back in the future. Thank you for being apart of our unforgettable trip. Luisa & Mario

Went there yesterday about 3:00 wasn't that hungry so we both had a white clam chowder and a shrimp cocktail that we shared. The soup was just lukewarm we had to send it back to the kitchen and of course they brought us the exact same bowls out, microwaved I'm assuming because our little crackers were still in there. And let's talk about those crackers do not open them up and put them in your soup it would be like putting rocks in there they are so hard you can't even crack them. The shrimp was medium size and really nothing special. If you're craving shrimp go to the broiler, a block or two away have jumbo for the same price. Would I go back naaaa. Nice view I must say it's great for the tourist just needs to have better food.

You’re not here to scroll. You’re hungry. You want the move. So here it is. Get to Lighthouse Oyster Bar & Grill in Oceanside, order the fish tacos, and do not skip the lobster bisque. That’s the headline. We went in with zero expectations and came out questioning every taco I’ve had before. Fried, grilled, blackened. I tried them all. The fried ones? Insane. Crispy shell, juicy fish, flavor that hits you before you even finish the first bite. The kind of tacos that make you rethink everything you know about beach food. And the lobster bisque? Look, most places give you three tiny chunks of lobster in a sea of cream and call it a day. Lighthouse said no. We’re giving you a full lobster’s worth in this bowl. It was rich, packed with flavor, and absolutely loaded with meat. Every spoonful was lobster heavy. We went from joking about the soup to practically fighting over it. No exaggeration. This was a party of 8. Over 15 dishes. Everything landed on the table hot, fresh, and somehow in under 15 minutes. Crab cakes, chowder, Ahi Stack, shrimp tacos, even the Caesar salad. All bangers. The chowder was thick and comforting without being gloopy. The Ahi Stack? Straight sushi power move. And yes, even the salad had us doing double takes. Who knew romaine could flex like that? Now layer in the view. Upper deck. Golden hour. Boats cruising by like we were on a movie set. But none of that would matter if the food didn’t back it up. And it absolutely does. Pro Tips If You Go • Get that bisque. Trust the bowl. • Order all the fish tacos. Especially the fried. • Clam chowder? Mandatory. • Upper deck seating is worth the ask. Sunset hits different up there. • Don’t blink. The food comes fast, and you’ll want time to enjoy every bite. Final Word Lighthouse isn’t just another waterfront restaurant riding on its view. It delivers. Fresh seafood, lightning fast service, and dishes that feel like they were made with actual love. This is the kind of place you tell friends about. The kind you come back to. If you’re anywhere near Oceanside and not eating here, you’re doing it wrong.

Q&A Restaurant and Oyster Bar is a vibrant spot that offers a taste of New Orleans with its flavorful food and delicious drinks. The Mardi Gras party was a hit, with gumbo bowls and Hurricanes standing out as must-tries. The attentive staff, great music, and positive vibe from servers like Craig make for an enjoyable experience. Happy hour is also worth checking out for good food and cocktails.
My husband and I saw a flier for Q & A's Mardi Gras party yesterday and went for it! We were not disappointed at all and had an amazing time. The food was very flavorful and the drinks were delicious. I had the gumbo bowl and will be back for more! I am so thankful the Hurricane I had to drink was not overly sweet and was so good I had another one! The staff was very attentive and very nice, and the music was wonderful too. We had such a great time and will be bringing our friends here from now on. Thank you for a wonderful time! 💛

A great oyster bar for happy hour! With our group of 8 on a Sunday evening, everything was delicious and service was very friendly and accommodating. It's a wonderfully decorated restaurant but parking around the area can be a tiny bit annoying. There was a very drunk dude who approached our table and started harassing us for a couple of minutes. I'm not sure if the staff didn't notice but it was quite awkward and called us some derogatory terms so that left a very bad taste in our dinner. Food: 8/10 Service: 8/10 Atmosphere: 8/10 Value: 8/10

Fun spot. Great bartender but understaffed for sure! This is a small place. Has an outdoor patio but it's a bit cold just yet. They take reservations but it doesn't really mean anything. Suggest going early-ish.

The mimosas were very standard. Didn’t taste like fresh or homemade juice but wish it had been. I tried the Cajun spice oysters and I’ve had much better. I expected a lot more for a place that had so many oyster options. It tasted overcooked and the seasoning wasn’t good. My friends tried the ceviche version of raw oysters and those were much better. They were too spicy for me and mostly just ceviche but they were good. I also got raw pacific oysters and they were just fine taste wise but nothing to write home about. All in all, I’d go somewhere else with higher ratings next time.

Oysters we’re fairly good, nothing amazing that you need to run out and try. The hot sauce on top, is incredible however. I would gladly buy a bottle of that to put on numerous things at home. The burger was well cooked and the sauce was very nice. Drinks were excellent. Had the painkilla and margarita and both were made very well. Atmosphere top tier. The aesthetic is chic and trendy, while not particular New Orleans vibes, it is very inviting and picture worthy. Service was great, hostess and our serve were very helpful, patient, and kind.

Made reservations for a Saturday dinner on Labor Day weekend with some friends. It was 6pm, and the week has been so hot I was honestly worried that the restaurant wasn't going to have A/C (some places don't this close to the beach). We checked in at the front stand (which is used for both Q&Q and Cococabana), and we're seated in side. I was very happy to see they did have air-conditioning and because we had reservations and showed up on-time, we got a nice booth right in the middle of the restaurant. There's limited seating inside by the bar, but there's a patio out back with several tables (no A/C back there though). The back patio is quite plain (see my photo) and doesn't have any of the same character as the inside. One note about our booth: we had four of us and we were seated at a booth with a large steel I-beam which made it difficult for all of us to fit. This booth is more for three people than four. Try to avoid this table unless you're middle person is a kid and can see against the I-beam to make room for everyone else. We ordered drinks all around. I got the PainKilla, which was absolutely the best drink at the table. On our next round, everyone ordered the PainKilla. We also ordered six (6) oysters, and had them charbroiled. I asked our server which of the types of oysters were the larged, and she said the Pacific, which was also the most expensive. When they came, the oysters were tiny (see photo)...I mean what the hell. Super disappointed in them. We ordered entrees. I really wanted to get the Dragos or the Frenchmen Strip, but at $68 and $55 respectively, and after eating these tiny little oysters - I didn't want to risk having a bad entree so I went with the Crawfish Garlic Wings ($21), which came covered in a creamy crawfish garlic sauce. The sauce was excellent and I really wish I had more of it on the plate. I ate three wings and was already stuffed. We also ordered the Uptown Gumbo ($19), Shrimp Creole and Grits ($23) and the Smoked Gouda Mac ($12). Everything was good. Personally I've made gumbo before and I think my version is better but overall each dish was very good. The mac n' cheese is a great size if you bring a kid. They even have Jambalaya as a side dish. There isn't a lot of draft beers unfortunately. There's only five on the menu. The pina colada hazy IPA was excellent however and I would order that again. Service was great. Our server Alicia was very attentive and even brought me a sample of the IPA in a shot glass before I ordered it. Bill came to $300 before tip, which is pretty steep. There is a 10% surcharge on the bill to "support increased wages and benefits", which I think is just not necessary. Just increase the prices of your plates. Normally I would have given 3 stars for this place. The I-beam situation, the tiny oysters and the surcharge are all annoying traits, HOWEVER this is one of the best people-watching spots...especially on a Saturday night. We had scores of folks walking past us to get to the elevator for Cococabana, so that definitely keeps you entertained (I even saw someone with a baby carriage) and bumped the 3 stars up to 4 for me. We will definitely come back to Q&A for a round 2...

The food was fantastic! We were told they just got a new menu. Literally every item we got was delicious. The Gulf oysters charbroiled, yum! The steak au poivre, the Paparadelle pasta - we got shrimp on top and even those had the best seasoning on them and cooked to perfection. And do t get me started on the Mac and cheese- I don't even eat that normally but I tried it because it came with the steak and it was the yummiest!!! The seasoning on everything was perfect. The only downside is we were there when there was a street party in the alley next to the restaurant which was ridiculously loud. We're not from Oceanside , so I don't know how often that goes on.

Went last night for date night, got in around 6 got our table but was left for 25 min before anyone came for drinks. We realized the bar tender was also our server and the only one taking orders for the place. If we wanted another drink or ready to order food, we had to grab her attention. She was great but being pulled in multiple directions was ridiculous. Also, everytime I went to order food or a specialty drink, they were out of it, would had been good to announce what they were out of first before looking at the menu. The oysters are small even after asking which ones are the biggest. Might stop by again for the gumbo and a drink but not for dinner again.

Fast food restaurant
Ice cream shop
Dairy Queen Grill & Chill is a popular fast-food chain known for its soft-serve ice cream and signature shakes. Their menu features classic burger and fries options. The desserts, including blizzards and slushes, are highly recommended. However, the restaurant tends to be busy and crowded due to its popularity as a gold mine. Despite this, the service is above average. The night crowd can lead to some congestion and noise.
I’ve never really felt compelled to write a review for anything before until now. The atmosphere was lovely and Josh is one of the most friendly and personable individuals you’ll meet. Definitely would recommend.

Great Dairy Queen Experience in Oceanside! It's getting harder to find a Dairy Queen these days, so when a craving for a Blizzard hits, it's worth seeking one out! We recently visited the Dairy Queen location in Oceanside and were very happy with our experience. The first thing we noticed was that the building, especially the interior, looked brand new and was impeccably clean. Despite a couple of customers ahead of us in line, the service was surprisingly quick, and we didn't have to wait long at all to place our orders. We both got exactly what we were craving for our dessert fix. I went with my go-to Blizzard, a delicious mix of Snickers and Butterfinger, while my son opted for the timeless classic – a chocolate dipped cone. In true Dairy Queen fashion, when my Blizzard was ready, the employee brought it over and performed the iconic upside-down Blizzard test, holding it there with a smile before handing it to me. It's always a fun little tradition that assures you of its thickness! All in all, we had a great experience at this Oceanside Dairy Queen. The location was clean, the service was fast and friendly, and our desserts were perfect. I'm already looking forward to our next visit!

I've only had dessert here, and it never disappoints. You can't go wrong with the blizzards, and the slushes are very nice. The place is a gold mine though, and it gets popular and crowded very easily. That being said, the service is above average. With the big crowd coming here at night, it does get a little crowded. That being said it can get very loud. 5 stars from me though! Keep doing what you are doing, DQ

No one was in the store, placed an order for 2 blizzards and left a $2.00 tip. In came 2 people, then a group of 5, who had no idea what they wanted, so clerk just stood there waiting for them to decide which took a long time and then 8 more people came in. 25 minutes later we were still waiting. I asked her how much longer and she said maybe 30 more minutes because she has to take all orders first before she can make our 2 blizzards. I asked for a refund and left. I should have taken my tip back.

Modern French restaurant
Restaurant
"Jeune et Jolie" is an elegant restaurant offering a set-price menu of creative French dishes as well as a la carte options. Chef Eric Bost presents a menu rooted in French nouvelle cuisine, showcasing seasonal ingredients. The restaurant's design features crushed velvet banquettes, pink marble tabletops, and pastel blue greens, creating an Art Deco ambiance.
We chose Jeune et Jolie for our anniversary dinner, and it was such a memorable experience. This is not your typical night out, it’s a curated culinary journey. We went with the four-course prix fixe menu and were impressed with the creativity and elegance of each dish. The halibut with vanilla foam absolutely blew me away (who knew that combination could work?), and the pigeon with leek quiche was equally interesting and delicious. Each plate looked like a piece of art, and the flavors were so thoughtfully balanced. The service was excellent, and the ambiance felt elevated without being stuffy. Also, I have to give a special shoutout to the bread...it was warm, fresh, and completely addictive. This is the kind of place where you go to treat yourself, celebrate something special, or simply enjoy a beautifully prepared meal. Highly recommend for a romantic evening or a foodie adventure.

Overall, I’d rate the experience a 3.5 out of 5. The seafood platter was the highlight of the meal, but the courses that followed were less impressive (nothing to write home about). Things picked up again with dessert, which ended the evening on a better note. If you enjoy wine, they do have a great selection. While it was still an interesting experience (due to the 1-star fame), I don’t plan on returning.

I won’t go into detail about each dish we ordered from the 4 course menu because I know they change them often but I cannot recommend Jeune et Jolie enough!! We celebrated my husbands birthday here and from the second we arrived til we left, they made it so special. Each staff member was incredible at explaining the dishes and the flavor profiles. We chose to add the beverage pairing - one regular and one non-alcoholic to accompany each course and were so impressed with how much we loved every drink brought to us. It’s definitely pricey but completely worth every penny. Sit on the patio - it’s super cute.

I highly recommend putting this place as a top priority on your list if you're considering fine dining in San Diego. The food, service, and atmosphere are exceptional! Hard to give any critiques to this place. My highlight is that their drink pairings to the menu are some of the best I've ever had. Their wine pairing is very good, but their non-alcoholic drink pairings are made in house. I can't recommend giving it a try because it's so unique compared to other places and it complements the food so well!

Had an amazing 10 year anniversary with my wife here. Every dish was popping with flavor, and the service was top-notch. We got to sit outside - beautiful ambiance with trees and string lights overhead. The scallops from the raw bar offer a stunning and delectable fusion of flavors, which we really enjoyed alongside oysters. Other standout dishes include the squab and wagyu (pictured). The milk bread was a surprisingly lovely taste between dishes - the meyer lemon zest on the butter gave such a nice flavor twist. We cant wait to come back and try other dishes. Thank you to the chefs and staff!

A one-Michelin-star French restaurant, whose name translates to "Young and Beautiful," offers seating at the bar and outdoors for walk-ins, while indoor tables may require a slight advance reservation. The outdoor area provides a view of the night scenery, indoor tables offer a live cooking show by the chefs, and the bar seats allow guests to watch mixologists at work—each option has its perks. However, I find the open kitchen most unique, as watching the chefs busily at work is itself an interesting sight. Upon seating, complimentary drinks and caviar are served, along with a special card filled with the names of every staff member—a very thoughtful touch! The menu offers four courses, with one selection from each, priced at $120 per person. The starters are overall refreshing, reminiscent of Californian cuisine. The beef carries a hint of wasabi fragrance, the marinated seafood features classic citrus marinade flavors, and finger lime serves as a clever garnish. Before the second course, bread is served—a fusion of Japanese milk bread’s soft interior and brioche’s crust. The lemon butter is a delightful surprise—somehow retaining a rich lemon aroma while maintaining a smooth texture. I really wanted another one! The sea bass has a firm and bouncy texture, and the side dishes are exceptionally well-paired! The third course, rabbit, perfectly exemplifies French luxury with intricate layers. The rabbit is incredibly tender, the potato cream blends wonderfully with the meat jus base, and the morel mushrooms stuffed with minced rabbit burst with rich, gamey flavors. Randomly scattered cherries add a touch of light sweetness. The final dessert is simple yet delicious, with cream and tart fruits creating a striking contrast. Each dish is exquisitely crafted in both taste and presentation, with plates and utensils replaced for every course. The flavors are outstanding, highlighting the natural essence of the ingredients and complemented by a variety of delicious sauces—nothing disappoints. I left with a full stomach and endless回味 (lasting impression). The staff came one after another to greet us, making us feel right at home. They treated every guest with sincere care—truly commendable! The total cost came to $300, offering great value for a Michelin-starred experience. Highly recommended!

Went there for our anniversary last night, and we love fine dining and enjoy without thinking on pricing, we had a few cocktails and the service was implacable. But unfortunately a huge disappointment from the food, one out of the 4 dishes was unique after we added to the fix menu $60 for the A5 wagu still was pretty mild in flavor. The oysters were great and the drinks as well. But left the place with an overall disappointment from the food. I think they set the stage with the design and service very high specially having three years in a row a Michelin star, but unfortunately most dishes lack flavor and the wow factor you’re looking for from this kind of a restaurant and after paying nearly $650 bill. Not planing on coming back for sure.

The food was good but comes out slowly during peak dinner hours even on a weekday. The meal was about 2 hours long. Everything tasted great and the service was very good. Would come back and try other dishes as the season changes.
